Die Stiftung The Ark ist ein pragmatisches Instrument, das danach strebt, die Wettbewerbs­fähigkeit der Unternehmen zu stärken. Ihr Ziel ist die Dynamisierung und Diversifizierung der kantonalen Wirtschaftsstruktur. Das Besondere an diesem Technologiepark ist, dass er mehrere Standorte besitzt (sechs Technologiestandorte) und sich auf drei Spezialbereiche erstreckt: Informations- und Kommunikationswissenschaften Life Sciences Ingenieurwissenschaften
