Kingdom Of Idris Research Paper
Once upon a time, in a very far away land, there was a small kingdom called Idris. It was a
beautiful, quaint little place surrounded by beautiful mountains nestled between a large, lush green
forest very rich in history and also romance and tradition of it's people who'd lived there for many
generations. Idris itself was a flourishing peaceful but small kingdom, which happened to be well
connected with many various other kingdoms from which it had formed many alliances and
friendships. Idris was known for it's history as well. Just outside of the Alicante, it's capital, was a
large, stately chaetau there lived a man named Luician "Luke" Graymark and his wife Jocelyn
Fairchild and their two young children Jonathan "Jon," and Clarissa "Clary,"

Comparing Christmas In One Hundred And Seventieth Street
My neighborhoods are way too different to find similarities between them. I was born in a small
neighborhood of Santiago which is a city of the Caribbean Island Dominican Republic. It's a small
place where you get to know everyone. I moved to the United States, specifically to Teller Avenue,
One Hundred and seventieth street when I was eleven years old, One Hundred and seventieth street
is way too big to get to know everyone. My two neighborhoods celebrate the holidays in different
ways. The way people interact are not even close. The people behave differently, is not the same. In

I know things are not the same, and people have different cultures, and they celebrate the holidays in
different ways. My hometown it just the place to go have a unity which eventually you'll lose
because you are growing, and meanwhile you start creating your own beliefs, and maybe you start
celebrating the holidays in a different way, too. That is why I do not regret moving to The United
States because you are not always going to be the same person, you will grow and change. One
hundred and seventieth street gave me a better sense of what it's like to be your own person, and not
to count on anyone. After all, that is the best way to live life, not expecting anyone to look out for
you. In that way, you'll have fewer disappointments and live a happier

My Career As A Physician
After graduating from high school, I was accepted into my city's medical school and started my
career as a physician. However, Venezuela is currently filled with corruption, economic burdens,
and violence; thus, after one semester, I decided to leave everything behind and move to the United
States for a better future. Even though I had to start from zero, I want to pursue my dreams no
matter the time it takes. Every action and every decision made me who I am today; transitioning to a
new country, completing my pre–medical requirements, being involved in the community,
participating in research, and having leadership roles are aspects that have aided shape my passion
for medicine.
When I was 10 years old, my mother and I volunteered in one of my hometown's poorest hospitals.
Witnessing the conditions and the burden patients had to get health treatment made me have an
interest in health care. As I began taking science classes, I realized how fascinating the human body
was. My intrigue for science subjects left me wanting to learn more and made me become a tutor for
my classmates. After a few years, I am still a tutor but now at the University level. This has allowed
me to practice my skills in science courses while aiding students. I have developed leadership skills
while serving the community. After a year of being a member of Allied Health Professions Society, I
was chosen as the Volunteer Coordinator. I created an agreement with Project CURE in which

changed Krebs in different ways. Krebs comes home from the war and finds himself alienated from
his friends and family. This transition for Krebs endures is a tough process and feels disconnected

For the second year and third year, my friends, then have changed and I have changed.
Some I lost touch with, and others still remain friends. Also, throughout the years I had made new
friends from school. In my family, they were always happy to see me and hear the stories from my
school and different activities I did in school like sports, clubs, and trips. Over the next two years,
my stories and my family's reaction seemed the same. I found myself lying to my family to make up
a good story for everyone to listen. Along with stories I've told I had to lie to hide the truth. At the
same time, I noticed nothing at home had changed just the older people got including myself.
According to Krebs's in the story, he analyzes the young women in his hometown. Krebs's attraction
to them is effective, but does not engage with them due to their complication, "They were too
complicated" (Meyer 167). Krebs's says, also, "he would have liked to have a girl but he did not
want to spend a long time getting her" (Meyer 167). Along with Krebs's experiences in warfare, he
grasped the concept of not relying anyone but himself, including no wife or companion. During his
time in Germany, Krebs did like the girls better due to the lack of communication. I suppose that is
the kind of relationship Krebs would like for the rest of his life.

My Community Experience : A Strong Sense Of Community
Throughout my life, I have been privileged to know a strong sense of community. My understanding
of community has been carved out and shaped by each community that I have been a part of and the
subsequent life experiences that I have had by being a part of these communities. To me, community
means a sense of belonging with people who have some capacity of like–mindedness. When you
belong to a community, you feel like a piece of a larger puzzle that comes together to create a whole.
Each community you belong to both influences you, and is influenced by you. Moreover, your
belonging to a community generates a sense of unity and shares a common goal, value, or outlook.
The strong sense of community that I have been privileged to know has been contributed to by many
communities; however, two particular communities come to mind when I think about my own roles
and personal growth.
Firstly, the geographic community of my hometown, Holyrood, has had a particular significance in
my life. This small town, where I lived from childhood until my early twenties, has played an
enormous part in the person I am today. I grew up having been involved in town affiliated children's
groups, social programs, and events. This extensive, positive involvement lead me to then seek out
my first employment and volunteer experiences within the town; leading me to work with and teach
those same programs and events which I enjoyed as a child. Throughout this full circle experience

Only certain trees are good for climbing. Some trees grow narrow, weak limbs that barely support
their own weight. Other trees boast trunks so wide that an ascent upwards would take superhuman
size. In between lies a sweet spot, a Goldilocks zone of trees that feel sturdy and supportive, yet are
a breeze to summit. My hometown of Mineola is that kind of tree, both figuratively and literally. For
17 years and counting, Mineola has reminded me how participation and involvement shape futures.

Personal Narrative: My Journey To Nicaragua
All throughout my life I felt as though I was lacking knowledge on the outside world. Outside world
meaning, the world that surrounds me outside of the county or "the bubble" as I like to call it, of
Westchester N.Y. Now don't get me wrong, I love living here, I always find that I have something to
do, there is a lot of great places to eat, and a lot of great people here, and I love that...I feel safe here.
But I've always felt as though Westchester being known as one of the richest counties in the nation,
deceives ones view of the rest of the world... maybe I don't want to always feel safe. Living here,
you never see things such as people having a shortage of food, no place to live, children going a
Christmas without any gifts. You pretty much have everything you need right at your fingertips
living here. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I had no idea if I would ever be able to get an opportunity like this ever again. When I was chosen to

found a way that I would break out of "the bubble" was living in and before even going, just
knowing I was going to do this great deed was the best feeling in the world.
In my aspect we did more than just build houses for these families. During our time there, we built a
bond that could never be broken. A bond so strong with the entire community that I will never
forget. Going to the work site each day, packed in the back of pick up trucks, bumping up and down
the rocky, bumpy, unpaved roads of Jinotega, Nicaragua (you could say I had a few bruises by the
end of the trip) was one of my favorite parts. The smiling faces of the Nicaraguans waving and
cheering as we rode by. I felt like a rock star being there, a feeling I never had while in Westchester

The Completion Of My Degree Program At Northeastern State...
At the completion of my degree program at Northeastern State University, commencement exercises
were rapidly approaching. As most of my classmates and friends were filled with excitement, I was
experiencing mixed emotions, most of all fear of the unknown as to where I would end up.
To be completely honest, I was fearful of leaving Tahlequah and Northeastern State simply due to so
many unknown variables as to what steps I would take next in my life. I dreaded the fact that I was
leaving Tahlequah, as it was a place that helped me to grown intellectually, emotionally, and
physically.
The influence of Dr. Kent Lashley had motivated me to become more scholarly and instilled a desire
of life–long learning. Emotionally, I was forced to grow, mature, and problem solve without having
my parents there to coach me, and as a result of that, I gained confidence and independence in my
ability to make it as a young adult. Physically, I grew and learned the importance of proper nutrition,
became an avid runner, and earned my 3rd degree black belt before graduating from college.
The fear within me was simply not knowing where I would end up teaching with my first job. I had
not applied too many places in Oklahoma before my graduation date as I had placed all of my eggs
in one basket. I had relied on a young lady that I thought would spend the rest of my life with and
was headed to Florida to fulfill a lifelong goal. Little did I know that the relationship would
completely dissolve

My Experience Of Homecoming
Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of
emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with open arms by my mom and dad. This was the
first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how much I
missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and with them
was something I hadn't ever experienced. All of my worries about homework and future exams were
gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of college I constantly felt like
I couldn't be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because I was surrounded by those who
loved me. After spending a few hours catching up, I went to reconnect with my high school friends.
Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these were the guys I had spent my life getting to
know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about our college experiences each with a different
story. It felt surreal because even in this short time I could tell everyone had changed. We all were
more mature and in the little time we had grown slightly apart. This was hard to admit but we all
could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared stories and laughed at our experiences during our first
few months of college. Being back with friends was different because every so often we would text
or snapchat our friends from college. You could tell we all appreciated being back but we had made
a new home at our colleges.

Descriptive Essay About A Rabbit
I'm still not sure about the ceramic rabbit. It's currently living in the garden outside my kitchen
window. It's nineteen inches tall. Its ears stick straight up. And it's purple. Bright purple. With
demonic eyes always staring back at me. I got it at a yard sale, an impulse purchase, as these things
often are.
It was the end of August, and I'd left a visit to see my parents in Pennsylvania until the last minute,
trying to avoid political conversations with my dad and less inclined to smile brightly as though all
was right with the world. And so I made the 7–hour drive from Maine, looking forward to hitting the
Saturday morning yard sales around my hometown with my mom and one of my older sisters, who
would also be visiting that weekend from Maryland.
My hometown has been down on its luck for more years than I care to count. The roads are rutted
with potholes. The sidewalks are cracked and bulge unevenly where the roots of trees try to break
free of their captivity. Out in the north end, where I grew up, and where we started our scavenging,
the homes are generally small, brick, post–World War II era. There are neatly–tended yards, and
then there are the ones where the grass hasn't been cut in a long time or odds–and–ends have
accumulated on the front porch.

Pros And Cons Of Inequality
You can tell there is inequality in this world just simply based on the word "mankind". I am sure
almost everyone in the world has been impacted by some sort of inequality/ abuse of power in the
world. Inequality can occur when a population of any kind does not maintain a common status, or
could also be a difference in power between individuals. Inequality can take place anywhere at any
time, and has been a major problem in the world today. Some people may not care about this, some
people really express their feelings on this subject, but some people just simply don't know much
about the subject. Inequality can happen anywhere from your own home to globally all over the
world. Back in my hometown, Medford Massachusetts, I work at a local popular sub shop. This sub
shop has people coming from all neighboring towns just dying to try one of our famous subs. I work
here as a chef with a small crew of around 6 total workers who are all very close to each other. I
have been working here for a while, and I have seen workers come and go, but the one thing I
realized is that I've never seen/heard of a girl working here before. I figured I would bring this topic
across to my boss, Joe. My boss was sort of looked at as a "local hero." He was always quick to
crack a joke with his workers, and even his customers. He was overall a hilarious, hardworking man
who was great to talk to. He invented the famous sub called the "bboy" back in 1976, which is ham,

My hometown is a lonely little island that floats in the middle of the East China Sea. It is a fairly

island that we have a population of barely over 1,000 people. Everyone lives a peaceful life, until
one day... ... It all starts in the morning, where I am watching the morning news with my sister, Eun–

arrive at the scene, they noticed that there were three slashes on her front and back. The doctors
believe that this was the cause of her death," the news reporter continues. Death at a young age is
not unusual for people that live on our island, but what is unusual is that this woman was murdered
and that does never ever happened in the history of the island where the crime rate is practically
zero. Later, as I arrive at the Korean market to buy my groceries, I hear the ajumma and ajusshi

Reflective Essay On Heterosexism
Heterosexism is something that I have not realized throughout the majority of my life. To me, it has
always been an underlying, but mostly invisible issue. My viewpoint has radically changed since
starting my undergraduate career, and has continued to evolve throughout the following years. These
readings have showcased different aspects that I have not been aware of previously, as will be
discussed further below.
Heterosexism is not something that I have extensively thought of before, or really thought about in
general other than in passing thought. In my hometown, heterosexism is something that is apparent
to me now that I have realized what it is. There are blatant examples that I was not aware of growing
up, other than casually wondering why one of my female friends was being treated differently than I
was. I naively put it down to her being more of a tomboy than I was, and it did not come to mind to
believe that people could be so homophobic to both her, and to a couple other homosexual
individuals that I was aware of growing up. I now understand that homophobia is rampant
throughout my hometown, and it is often very frustrating to me to see individuals being treated
differently based on who they are in a relationship with. Even knowing my frustration and the
reasoning behind it, it is difficult for me to speak up against this treatment. I know that this is
something that I need to work on, but am unsure of how to respond to individuals who make those
comments.

Jail: A Short Story
never thought I'd ever end up in jail a day in my life. It was a beautiful day in my hometown and I
had just returned from college for the summer. I was ready to have a fun filled day until I received a
call from one of my closest cousins. I love this girl to death like the sister I never had, but to be
frankly honest she is overly dramatic and brings nothing but trouble. I pick up the phone and she
immediately screams, "Girl get up, I'm coming to get you!'
It's been over a year since I've seen my cousin so I'm very excited, but as I'm getting dressed I
couldn't help but think to myself "Oh gosh, I wonder what has this girl gotten herself into this time."
Twenty minutes' passes by and she pulls up and beeps the horn. I grab my things and run ... Show

She then started hitting her back with the bat while at the same time grazing the older lady! Another
chick then sprays mase all throughout the vehicle! I panic and pull off while my eyes are burning
and blood shot red. We almost hit a person and as I tried to avoid him we started spinning around
and I could faintly see blue lights in the distance as we came to an hault.

The police officers come over to the truck and asks us all to step out. I just knew I was going to jail
and I also didn't have my license on me. There were so many people watching as the chaos
unraveled and they all stopped and stared. The officer asked me If I was the driver and of course I
said yes. They run my name and 10 minutes' passes by before the cop came back over. He asked me
and my cousin to step over to the police car, turn around and put our hands behind our backs while
saying "You have the right to remain silent etc.; You are being arrested for reckless driving and
disorderly conduct".
My heart dropped and as my eyes filled with tears I couldn't help but to think about how mad my
mother and family are going to be.
We actually bonded out that next morning but a month later we went before the judge in

The Importance Of Giving Back To A Community
I have been fortunate enough to live my entire life in the city of Brentwood, TN. A lot of stereotypes
come to mind when telling people where I live my everyday life. Such as, money, spoiled kids, nice
cars, selfishness, and many others. Every so often you find those people who don't care about what
kind of car they drive, or what brand they're wearing. Although this type of community surrounds
me every day, I have always chosen to give back. Giving back to the community is one of my
favorite things to do. Not only do I give back to the community, but I also help with big
organizations worldwide. I have been working with a service group since I was in the 10th grade.

Greasers Monologue
''I live on 2356 on Hudson Street,'' replied Cherry. ''My house is the third on Hudson Street. Hudson
Street is the where you would go to enter the Westside of Town.'' I was remembering her words at
my desk. I was thinking on how I could talk in a way that appeals to the people I was talking to. I
guess I would know what appeals to the Greasers, but I did not know what appealed to the Socs.
They were always behind a wall of aloofness, so it would be hard to know what appeals to them. I
was thinking of the ways that I could discover what the Socs liked. ''There is only one way to find
out,'' I said to myself. It was a crazy idea, but if I could do it successfully, it would help me get the
Socs to stop fighting. I was going to do something that no Greaser had done before, ... Show more

I kept cocking my eyebrows, which might have sent a message to Cherry. ''Alright,'' she responded
with a smirk, ''let's go.'' With that, we started my tour around the West side of town. The West side of
town was looked nicer than the East side, which makes sense because the West side is more rich.
Cherry showed me where the Socs like to go, like the Way Out and Rusty's. ''To get to know Socs
better,'' said Cherry, ''you got to meet them.'' ''What if they think I am a Greaser,'' I asked. ''We will
just say you are a cousin,'' responded Cherry nonchalantly. We went inside the Way Out, which
looked very nice in comparison with the Dingo. The chairs seemed more expensive and luxurious.
That might be an odd thing to point out, but it's true. We decided to go talk to some Soc
quarterbacks who played for the school I went to. Cherry knew them because she was the
cheerleader. ''Who is that guy?'' asked one of the quarterbacks. ''I am just a cousin,'' I replied. ''Just
showing him around town,'' said Cherry. ''Alright,'' said the quarterback. ''Can I ask you guys some
questions?'' I asked. ''Be honest,

Essay on An Experience in My Lfe
An Experience in My Life December 31, 2004, while everyone else was celebrating New Year's, my
family and I were moving from one city to another. It was hard for me to move another city because
I was leaving behind the town where I was born and all my friends. This was one of the biggest
impacts that I have experience in my life. Moving from one town to another was like moving to
another world where I did not know anyone. But the hardest part of moving for me was moving to
another school where I did not know anyone and I did not know what to expect. Moving from a
place I grew up and lived my whole life was really difficult to adapt to the new place. The sun

my friends in my old school where doing. Finally at 2:30 School ended and the first day in a new
school ended. I got home and there was nothing to do, I was used to getting home and play soccer
with my neighbors but I didn't know anyone no more. I wish it was all just a dream and that I would
wake up back to my old friends and home. The reality was that it was never going to happen. The
days passed and I stared to get to know people in school. I joined the school soccer team and that's
where I made my friends. After I made new friends they started inviting me to places and showing
me around the town. Can you show specific examples of how things changed for you? They
introduced me to their friends and I felt more comfortable in the new town. I met new people and I
stated to feel like at home. As the time past the feeling of not being at home started to fade away. I
started to get familiar with all the stores, streets, and restaurants. I started to give the town a chance
and the result were positive. The getting familiar with the town was not the only difficulty for me.

Descriptive Essay On Campus
Iowa State University offers a large campus. The campus itself entirely is around the size of my
hometown. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet spend
most of my time in my dorm. Whenever I am not in my dorm or in class though, I often find myself
wandering around campus. When wandering around campus I usually look for the best spots for me
just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are closer and very
appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many students visit them.
What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my dorm on campus. I live in
the Wilson Hall dormitory, known as one of the Towers, and it is quite far from the main campus.
Seeing as I walk everyday to and from the main campus to and from my dorm, I tend to walk the
same route, as to shorten the walk time it takes and be familiar with the area. On days I walk to my
favorite spot, which is the second concrete bench next to the Campanile, and I just sit there for hours
and relax. Wilson Hall's dining hall is called Storms, and is located maybe 80–100 yards North of
Wilson. As I leave through the North East exit of Wilson Hall, I cross the diagonal sidewalk running
from Wilson to Storm's East Entrance/Exit. I tend to eat supper at Storms, and as I exit through the
same entrance, I leave and grab an apple to eat along the way heading to the Campanile. I walk up

The Importance Of Hometowns
Growing up in a large city can provide children with important lessons on diversity and allow them
to explore incessantly. Growing up on a coast or near a mountain range supplies opportunities such
as hiking, swimming, and other great outdoor activities you may not find elsewhere. Unlike both of
these, I was raised in a small midwestern town with seemingly very little to do; however, this small
town has helped shape who I am today. Hometowns can provide many meaningful experiences
important to one's' development and that is what Smithton, Illinois has done for me. I believe that
my hometown of Smithton, Illinois played a vital role in helping me develop my sense of creativity.
Living in a neighborhood outside of town I often ran out of things to do, but luckily my best friend
lived up the street. We were young, creative, and a little reckless which led to a lot of fun. Directly
behind my house were the woods, a ceaseless amount of trees, brush, and bugs. After walking and
exploring for a few minutes, the trees eventually diverge and there is a humongous downhill path.
My bestfriend and I saw this hill has a great opportunity; soon, we had a mission to build ramps so
we could jump over a monstrous brush pile at the bottom of the hill. We spent plenty of time seeking
action and trouble as the adrenaline–junkie kids we were. Nevertheless, living in a small town
means you have plenty of boundaries and a finite number of opportunities. For this reason we soon
grew bored of

From where I stand, there are abundant reasons that someone are supposed to have a visit to
Jinan.Firstly, the most important reason is that there are lots of springs in this city and every spring
has it's own character respectively. Baotu Spring is a seventy–two spring crown,,meanwhile,Baotu
Spring group is the four largest group of springs.Secondly, lots of cultural celebrities appeared in the
long history of Jinan.Such as,a famous doctor named Bian Que who usually traveled everywhere to

Describe Helenwood
Growing up in small town makes trying to figure out you're purpose in life in my opinion, a little

I grew up in a small town named Helenwood, Tennessee, to me, the greatest place on earth. Others
would definitely disagree with me and I'm well aware of that, but I consider this place like a Garden
of Eden. Helenwood is a tiny town on the outskirts of East Tennessee. Here, everyone knows just

Helenwood has many dirt roads and trails. The scenery surrounding these trails is absolutely

Chitwood Mountain, a popular off road area. Here, people just sit around and shoot the bull around a
fire. A popular off road event held in Huntsville, Tennessee, near Helenwood, is called The White

ultimate outdoor experience. Many people from all over the country come here to attend this event.
During this event, people ride one of the many trails located on Brimstone until the concert begins.
Many country singers, such as Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell, Hank Williams Jr., Justin Moore, etc

Whenever I hear the word Transition I immediately get this feeling of butterflies in my stomach.
Most of the time transitioning means that something is about to change and change can sometimes
be a scary thing. College is something I always knew I wanted to do when the time came, but it was
also something I always pushed away in my mind because it was not in my comfort zone. Since
neither of my parents went to college I never really heard about the experiences of college but if I
would have based my opinion on college from my parents I probably would not be here at ECU.
Coming to college has been a change but it is something that I knew I needed to do to achieve my
dreams and goals for my future. My parents are my biggest supporters and they have always told me
to go college and get an education. I feel that life is one enormous risk and sometimes those risks
will change your life forever. Somewhere around the fifth of December is when I completed my
admissions application for ECU. Even when I was in middle school I always knew that I wanted to
attend East Carolina University and be a pirate. The morning of December 17th as I walked back
from my mailbox with tears streaming down my face I recieved the letter that offered me admissions
to my dream college. This was the day that marked the huge transition that I was about to make. I
was not the person that thought "I am so ready to go to college and get away from my parents"
because I have always been considered as a

Compare And Contrast Mrs. Gibbs In Our Town
A Common Love is the Greatest Love: Our Town and My Hometown
Our Town, written by Thornton Wilder, is one of the most performed plays in America. In this play,
a number of characters with different roles and traits appear, and the roles range from doctor,
student, undertaker, and housewife to a newspaper editor. The background of this play is a small
one–stop town in New Hampshire, just across the Massachusetts line, and its name is Grover's
Corners. The main character I would like to focus on throughout this writing is Mrs. Gibbs, who is
the mother of George Gibbs and Rebbeca Gibbs, and the wife of Dr. Gibbs. Even though she is
nothing more than a common housewife, the role Mrs. Gibbs plays seems quite vital in this play.
Her role is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a way, her statements may sound nagging. However, this sentiment is something many people
yearn after from their childhood, something they recognize as love when they become too old to
receive it from their mothers. Thus, throughout the play, Mrs. Gibbs lets the readers feel the
nostalgia of their childhood and look back how the love of the mother, the love of maternity truly
looks like. Next, let me start the comparison between Mrs. Gibbs and the people that could be found
back in my hometown in terms of the love especially towards their children. To begin with, my
hometown is called Jin–Gwan–Dong which is often referred to as the Swiss of Seoul, surrounded by
a peaceful, environmental–friendly nature just like Grover's Corners. In Our Town, Mrs. Gibbs
showed constant love and concern towards her children. This is not very different in my home town
either; actually it is nearly impossible to find a mother who does not provide her children with her
best love, such love that pours all her energy and might. Nearly every mother in this world takes
great care of their children and tries her best in whatever she does as a mother. However, the shape
and aspect of the love seem to have quite a huge difference: The love is mostly concentrated on
children's academics and school work in Jin–Gwan–Dong. In Our Town, Mrs. Gibbs does not really
care about what and how George and Rebecca are studying at school and does not mind at all

My Experience At The Big City Of Jacksonville
When I first moved to the big city of Jacksonville, I was cultured shocked. Being born and raised in
a small town where everyone knew everyone, elderly people made up the majority of the
population, and being a liberal could get a brawl going, the new diversity astounded me. Growing
up in my southern town, I was not forced to have specific ideals, but the culture certainly affected
them. My town has made me who I am today and I question if being raised so conservative has held
me back and if the culture in my hometown needs to be more modernized. Not being adjusted to
individuality, the culture of the town, and the towns traditional views, are all experiences that have
impacted me to understanding where I came from has affected my social identity.
From a young age, I have always acknowledged that when I went to a tourist area, there was so
much individuality, that I could not fully grasp. When I would go to Walt Disney World, I would see
for one moment a couple of teens with rainbow colored hair and then I would turn my head to see an
Amish family. I always found it astonishing, because where I came from everyone was basically the
same. Of course, there was always a few that did break away from the norm that my county had, but
they stuck out like a sore thumb. These were the type of people that were either very rich or gothic
in style. I don't recall them being bullied, but they were noticed and sometimes gossiped about,
because they were not the same. As it goes, no one

First of all, the city was overcrowded and polluted. The streets are filled with drugs, alcohol,

amphitheater is a beautiful structure made of stone and concrete. The exterior has three stories of
arched entrances supported by semi–circular columns. But on the inside, the Colosseum is the site of
sporting events and bloodshed. Every night, up to 50,000 people go to Colosseum to watch the

  • 3. My Career As A Physician After graduating from high school, I was accepted into my city's medical school and started my career as a physician. However, Venezuela is currently filled with corruption, economic burdens, and violence; thus, after one semester, I decided to leave everything behind and move to the United States for a better future. Even though I had to start from zero, I want to pursue my dreams no matter the time it takes. Every action and every decision made me who I am today; transitioning to a new country, completing my pre–medical requirements, being involved in the community, participating in research, and having leadership roles are aspects that have aided shape my passion for medicine. When I was 10 years old, my mother and I volunteered in one of my hometown's poorest hospitals. Witnessing the conditions and the burden patients had to get health treatment made me have an interest in health care. As I began taking science classes, I realized how fascinating the human body was. My intrigue for science subjects left me wanting to learn more and made me become a tutor for my classmates. After a few years, I am still a tutor but now at the University level. This has allowed me to practice my skills in science courses while aiding students. • 6. My Community Experience : A Strong Sense Of Community Throughout my life, I have been privileged to know a strong sense of community. My understanding of community has been carved out and shaped by each community that I have been a part of and the subsequent life experiences that I have had by being a part of these communities. To me, community means a sense of belonging with people who have some capacity of like–mindedness. When you belong to a community, you feel like a piece of a larger puzzle that comes together to create a whole. Each community you belong to both influences you, and is influenced by you. Moreover, your belonging to a community generates a sense of unity and shares a common goal, value, or outlook. The strong sense of community that I have been privileged to know has been contributed to by many communities; however, two particular communities come to mind when I think about my own roles and personal growth. Firstly, the geographic community of my hometown, Holyrood, has had a particular significance in my life. This small town, where I lived from childhood until my early twenties, has played an enormous part in the person I am today. I grew up having been involved in town affiliated children's groups, social programs, and events. This extensive, positive involvement lead me to then seek out my first employment and volunteer experiences within the town; leading me to work with and teach those same programs and events which I enjoyed as a child. • 10. The Completion Of My Degree Program At Northeastern State... At the completion of my degree program at Northeastern State University, commencement exercises were rapidly approaching. As most of my classmates and friends were filled with excitement, I was experiencing mixed emotions, most of all fear of the unknown as to where I would end up. To be completely honest, I was fearful of leaving Tahlequah and Northeastern State simply due to so many unknown variables as to what steps I would take next in my life. I dreaded the fact that I was leaving Tahlequah, as it was a place that helped me to grown intellectually, emotionally, and physically. The influence of Dr. Kent Lashley had motivated me to become more scholarly and instilled a desire of life–long learning. Emotionally, I was forced to grow, mature, and problem solve without having my parents there to coach me, and as a result of that, I gained confidence and independence in my ability to make it as a young adult. Physically, I grew and learned the importance of proper nutrition, became an avid runner, and earned my 3rd degree black belt before graduating from college. The fear within me was simply not knowing where I would end up teaching with my first job. I had not applied too many places in Oklahoma before my graduation date as I had placed all of my eggs in one basket. I had relied on a young lady that I thought would spend the rest of my life with and was headed to Florida to fulfill a lifelong goal. Little did I know that the relationship would completely dissolve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. My Experience Of Homecoming Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with open arms by my mom and dad. This was the first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how much I missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and with them was something I hadn't ever experienced. All of my worries about homework and future exams were gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of college I constantly felt like I couldn't be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because I was surrounded by those who loved me. After spending a few hours catching up, I went to reconnect with my high school friends. Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these were the guys I had spent my life getting to know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about our college experiences each with a different story. It felt surreal because even in this short time I could tell everyone had changed. We all were more mature and in the little time we had grown slightly apart. This was hard to admit but we all could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared stories and laughed at our experiences during our first few months of college. Being back with friends was different because every so often we would text or snapchat our friends from college. You could tell we all appreciated being back but we had made a new home at our colleges. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of the time my dad and I watched a soccer game in TV. My neighbors and even my town people loved the soccer. The best thing was where ever there was soccer match going on tv. They came to my house to watched it and we all watch the game together. Also some people didn't liked soccer. I mean especially women they hated soccer because they think soccer is useless sport. The reason they said that because their husband spent a so much time watching soccer. Sometime I hear wife and husband having a wrangle about soccer. • 18. Descriptive Essay About A Rabbit I'm still not sure about the ceramic rabbit. It's currently living in the garden outside my kitchen window. It's nineteen inches tall. Its ears stick straight up. And it's purple. Bright purple. With demonic eyes always staring back at me. I got it at a yard sale, an impulse purchase, as these things often are. It was the end of August, and I'd left a visit to see my parents in Pennsylvania until the last minute, trying to avoid political conversations with my dad and less inclined to smile brightly as though all was right with the world. And so I made the 7–hour drive from Maine, looking forward to hitting the Saturday morning yard sales around my hometown with my mom and one of my older sisters, who would also be visiting that weekend from Maryland. My hometown has been down on its luck for more years than I care to count. The roads are rutted with potholes. The sidewalks are cracked and bulge unevenly where the roots of trees try to break free of their captivity. Out in the north end, where I grew up, and where we started our scavenging, the homes are generally small, brick, post–World War II era. There are neatly–tended yards, and then there are the ones where the grass hasn't been cut in a long time or odds–and–ends have accumulated on the front porch. Our first stop was two doors down from The Cup, a building in the shape of a cup, with a stir–stick coming out of the top. • 20. Pros And Cons Of Inequality You can tell there is inequality in this world just simply based on the word "mankind". I am sure almost everyone in the world has been impacted by some sort of inequality/ abuse of power in the world. Inequality can occur when a population of any kind does not maintain a common status, or could also be a difference in power between individuals. Inequality can take place anywhere at any time, and has been a major problem in the world today. Some people may not care about this, some people really express their feelings on this subject, but some people just simply don't know much about the subject. Inequality can happen anywhere from your own home to globally all over the world. Back in my hometown, Medford Massachusetts, I work at a local popular sub shop. This sub shop has people coming from all neighboring towns just dying to try one of our famous subs. I work here as a chef with a small crew of around 6 total workers who are all very close to each other. I have been working here for a while, and I have seen workers come and go, but the one thing I realized is that I've never seen/heard of a girl working here before. I figured I would bring this topic across to my boss, Joe. My boss was sort of looked at as a "local hero." He was always quick to crack a joke with his workers, and even his customers. It is such a small island that we have a population of barely over 1,000 people. Everyone lives a peaceful life, until one day... ... It all starts in the morning, where I am watching the morning news with my sister, Eun– Ji. "Today, a young woman is mysteriously killed," the news reporter begins. "When the doctors arrive at the scene, they noticed that there were three slashes on her front and back. The doctors believe that this was the cause of her death," the news reporter continues. Death at a young age is not unusual for people that live on our island, but what is unusual is that this woman was murdered and that does never ever happened in the history of the island where the crime rate is practically zero. • 22. Reflective Essay On Heterosexism Heterosexism is something that I have not realized throughout the majority of my life. To me, it has always been an underlying, but mostly invisible issue. My viewpoint has radically changed since starting my undergraduate career, and has continued to evolve throughout the following years. These readings have showcased different aspects that I have not been aware of previously, as will be discussed further below. Heterosexism is not something that I have extensively thought of before, or really thought about in general other than in passing thought. In my hometown, heterosexism is something that is apparent to me now that I have realized what it is. There are blatant examples that I was not aware of growing up, other than casually wondering why one of my female friends was being treated differently than I was. I naively put it down to her being more of a tomboy than I was, and it did not come to mind to believe that people could be so homophobic to both her, and to a couple other homosexual individuals that I was aware of growing up. I now understand that homophobia is rampant throughout my hometown, and it is often very frustrating to me to see individuals being treated differently based on who they are in a relationship with. Even knowing my frustration and the reasoning behind it, it is difficult for me to speak up against this treatment. I know that this is something that I need to work on, but am unsure of how to respond to individuals who make those comments. These ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was thinking of the ways that I could discover what the Socs liked. ''There is only one way to find out,'' I said to myself. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet spend most of my time in my dorm. When wandering around campus I usually look for the best spots for me just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are closer and very appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many students visit them. What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my dorm on campus. • 28. The Importance Of Hometowns Growing up in a large city can provide children with important lessons on diversity and allow them to explore incessantly. Growing up on a coast or near a mountain range supplies opportunities such as hiking, swimming, and other great outdoor activities you may not find elsewhere. Unlike both of these, I was raised in a small midwestern town with seemingly very little to do; however, this small town has helped shape who I am today. Hometowns can provide many meaningful experiences important to one's' development and that is what Smithton, Illinois has done for me. I believe that my hometown of Smithton, Illinois played a vital role in helping me develop my sense of creativity. Living in a neighborhood outside of town I often ran out of things to do, but luckily my best friend lived up the street. We were young, creative, and a little reckless which led to a lot of fun. Directly behind my house were the woods, a ceaseless amount of trees, brush, and bugs. After walking and exploring for a few minutes, the trees eventually diverge and there is a humongous downhill path. My bestfriend and I saw this hill has a great opportunity; soon, we had a mission to build ramps so we could jump over a monstrous brush pile at the bottom of the hill. We spent plenty of time seeking action and trouble as the adrenaline–junkie kids we were. The morning of December 17th as I walked back from my mailbox with tears streaming down my face I recieved the letter that offered me admissions to my dream college. This was the day that marked the huge transition that I was about to make. I was not the person that thought "I am so ready to go to college and get away from my parents" because I have always been considered as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Compare And Contrast Mrs. Gibbs In Our Town A Common Love is the Greatest Love: Our Town and My Hometown Our Town, written by Thornton Wilder, is one of the most performed plays in America. In this play, a number of characters with different roles and traits appear, and the roles range from doctor, student, undertaker, and housewife to a newspaper editor. The background of this play is a small one–stop town in New Hampshire, just across the Massachusetts line, and its name is Grover's Corners. The main character I would like to focus on throughout this writing is Mrs. Gibbs, who is the mother of George Gibbs and Rebbeca Gibbs, and the wife of Dr. Gibbs. Even though she is nothing more than a common housewife, the role Mrs. Gibbs plays seems quite vital in this play. Her role is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a way, her statements may sound nagging. However, this sentiment is something many people yearn after from their childhood, something they recognize as love when they become too old to receive it from their mothers. Thus, throughout the play, Mrs. Gibbs lets the readers feel the nostalgia of their childhood and look back how the love of the mother, the love of maternity truly looks like. Next, let me start the comparison between Mrs. Gibbs and the people that could be found back in my hometown in terms of the love especially towards their children. To begin with, my hometown is called Jin–Gwan–Dong which is often referred to as the Swiss of Seoul, surrounded by a peaceful, environmental–friendly nature just like Grover's Corners. In Our Town, Mrs. Gibbs showed constant love and concern towards her children. This is not very different in my home town either; actually it is nearly impossible to find a mother who does not provide her children with her best love, such love that pours all her energy and might. Nearly every mother in this world takes great care of their children and tries her best in whatever she does as a mother. However, the shape and aspect of the love seem to have quite a huge difference: The love is mostly concentrated on children's academics and school work in Jin–Gwan–Dong. In Our Town, Mrs. Gibbs does not really care about what and how George and Rebecca are studying at school and does not mind at all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. My Experience At The Big City Of Jacksonville When I first moved to the big city of Jacksonville, I was cultured shocked. Being born and raised in a small town where everyone knew everyone, elderly people made up the majority of the population, and being a liberal could get a brawl going, the new diversity astounded me. Growing up in my southern town, I was not forced to have specific ideals, but the culture certainly affected them. My town has made me who I am today and I question if being raised so conservative has held me back and if the culture in my hometown needs to be more modernized. Not being adjusted to individuality, the culture of the town, and the towns traditional views, are all experiences that have impacted me to understanding where I came from has affected my social identity. From a young age, I have always acknowledged that when I went to a tourist area, there was so much individuality, that I could not fully grasp. When I would go to Walt Disney World, I would see for one moment a couple of teens with rainbow colored hair and then I would turn my head to see an Amish family. I always found it astonishing, because where I came from everyone was basically the same. Of course, there was always a few that did break away from the norm that my county had, but they stuck out like a sore thumb. These were the type of people that were either very rich or gothic in style. I don't recall them being bullied, but they were noticed and sometimes gossiped about, because they were not the same. As it goes, no one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Coming From A Small Community Essay Coming from a small community is either a burden sometime, or it is occasionally the best that can ever happen in your life. If a person comes from a small town, it feels as if people are always in others peoples business, but it could be the most comfortable feeling when a person's community is there to back them up. I come from a town of around two thousand people. Unfortunately, my town has endured tremendous and multiple tragedies. My little town has survived the deaths of class mates, officers, coaches, and well known community members. All of these deaths were unexpected and rocked everyone in the community. It felt like every time and accident happened the community knew that the school would be hit the hardest. I can't count ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Rome: The Taklamakan Desert I have been in Dunhuang for only a couple of days, and I really like it. There is no government structure or social class structure. In Dunhuang I am respected and treated equally to everyone else, regardless of my wealth or gender. I hope to return here again. I am now on my way to my final destination, Rome. To get to Rome, I have to cross the Taklamakan Desert. The only transportation that can survive the heat is camel, so I will ride a camel through the desert. I like camels; People ride them in Adulis. I now understand why this desert is called the Taklamakan Desert. This desert is one of the most dangerous and inhospitable places on the earth. It is so large, sandy, and dry, and there is no water. Its name even warns that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First of all, the city was overcrowded and polluted. The streets are filled with drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, and sickness. But the worse thing I saw was the Colosseum. From the outside, the amphitheater is a beautiful structure made of stone and concrete. The exterior has three stories of arched entrances supported by semi–circular columns. But on the inside, the Colosseum is the site of sporting events and bloodshed. Every night, up to 50,000 people go to Colosseum to watch the public entertainment of gladiatorial fights. I went the other day and watched as a slave was pecked to death by an ostrich. It was the most sickening and horrifying thing that I'd ever seen. As a believer of ahimsa, or nonviolence, __________________________________________________. But even worse, while the man was getting pecked to death, the crowd was cheering and was looking forward to his death. The next thing I saw in the Colosseum was even more unbearable; Two men were being fed to lions because they believed in Christianity. I can't believe that Rome persecutes people of the religion in Aksum. Although Coptic Christianity and Roman Christianity are slightly different, the Romans are killing people with the same religious beliefs as my family and the Aksum kingdom. The people of Rome sicken me. Where have all of their morals and values ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
