What Steroids Can Do To Your Body
A bloodcurdling feeling spreads throughout the arena, a smell so menacing that even the men inside
the ring don t know what will happen next. The roars of men are zipping through the air as bodies are
torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago were people
competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been a part of
human nature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on. Certainly
competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a daily basis,
competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years began to pass
competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for their lives fighting
against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own. Today, we no longer face the
life or death bouts over a single meal. The sense of competition has not dulled, yet it has been moved
from a daily survival to more of an extravagance for viewers to behold the abilities of others in awe.
These days, the most anticipated competitions are held in football stadiums, boxing rings, and weight
rooms. The rewards for today s gladiators consist of bragging rights over a rival, worldwide notoriety,
and large sums of money. Being the best at what we do, getting the feeling that you are number one is
what we as humans have always strived for. No matter what the cost had been we always took another

The Importance Of Negative Thoughts
Have you ever wondered if someone s emotions affects their success? A person s thoughts or emotions
affect their failure or success significantly. Negative thoughts are very powerful and have a tendency
to overshadow the positive thoughts that a person has.If we do something good then something bad
happens our brain will focus on the negative thing that happened and not care about the positive
thing.people can t go back to the positive thought after a negative thought comes to mind.If you
always look for a positive then there will always a negative that come up.But if you look at the
negative there will always be a positive but the positive might make is situation worse. Our view of
the world tends to tilt towards the negative (Ledgerwood).Losing helps prevent making the same
mistakes next time. Growth and fixed mindset can affect the failure and success in life because
Growth mindset is intelligences wants to grow and learn more.Fixed mindset is intelligences stays the
same that want to not learn they say do i look smart am i acting like i m smart. When thinking about
dreams and obstacles that get in the way of you good dream and the people who will succeed more
because they overcame that obstacle in their dream.Try to fight against all the negative things coming

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cooperatives
14.31 Workers co operatives
In large public companies, management and ownership are separate. By contrast, in workers co
operatives employees will have contributed towards the capital of the organisation and may elect
managers at annual meetings.
The advantage of workers co operatives is that all workers can take part in discussions regarding their
firm. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase profitability if they
anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares.
Another advantage is that taking part in the decision‐making process helps to motivate workers.
However if the co operative becomes bankrupt then the workers will lose both their jobs and the value
of their shares. It may then be difficult to persuade employees to put more capital into the business.
The objectives of co operatives are usually to provide goods and services to consumers at reasonable
prices and to pay fair wages to the workers.
Whilst there have been workers co operatives for a considerable time there has been a noticeable
increase in their number in recent years. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to avoid people having shares in order to pay the advantages of windfalls, the Nationwide
Building society, which is the largest, has a clause that new shareholders i.e. almost anyone who has
deposits agrees to forgo the windfall and the money would instead go to a trust. The logic of this
clause was otherwise, since there is one member one vote so called carpetbaggers would have small
deposits in the mutual organisations and would then try to get a vote on getting the organisation to
become a company since they would get a disproportionate return if the building society could be

Impact Of Orientalism In Western Music
History is about the present as much as it is concerned with the past because the past forms the
foundation of how things are today which will also become history in years to come.
As my own practice is music heavily influenced by the west, I will be exploring the definition of
Orientalism and The Primitive and Pagan in Contemporary Art with some analysis of their long
history before identifying their effects on today s western music.
Famous orientalist, Edward Said, explained in his book Orientalism that through European
colonization, the Europeans established orientalism, the study of Orientals, as a way to define
themselves as the superior race compared to Orientals and justify their colonization. As the study of
Orientals expanded, Westerners generalized attributes of Easterners and started forming their own
knowledge about Easterners. Hence, Orientalism can now be defined as Western stereotypes about
Eastern people.
By this definition, orientalism can be found in rock music like Arabian Knights by Siousie and The
Banshees and has affected the way lyrics are written in songs. In Arabian Knights, the lyrics Myriad
lights I d be impressed Arabian Knights at your primitive best supports the idea that the arabian area is

In the more recent years, pop songs like Buttons by the Pussy Cat Dolls, uses strong elements of
Middle Eastern music in its production to complement the pop beats. A distinct Arabic melody played
by a flute sounding instrument can be heard repeatedly throughout the song to make it more oriental.
The same can be said about songs by singer M.I.A as she uses Oriental music such as Bollywood
music in songs like Jimmy . It is hence clear that Orientalism has affected the type and style music in
both past and

Recruitment is a form of business competition. Just as corporations compete to develop, manufacture,
and market the best products and services, so they must also compete to identify, attract, and hire the
most qualified people . Recruitment is a business, and it is big business. It demands serious attention
from management, for any business strategy will falter without the talent to execute it . Certainly, the
range of recruitment needs is broad. A small manufacturer in a well populated rural area faces
recruitment challenges that are far different from those of a high technology firm operating in global
markets. Regardless of the size of a firm or what industry it is in, recruitment and selection of people
with strategically relevant abilities are more important than ever .
2.2 The employee recruitment and selection process
Conceptually (and logically), it is necessary to specify the work to be done and the personal
characteristics necessary to do the work (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics), before
one can specify the numbers and types of people needed the do the work . Recruitment and selection
strategies for new employees are likely to differ considerably depending on whether a company s
objective in hiring, e.g, new salespeople, is to identify candidates who are able to execute

The Bombing Of The Rainbow Warrior
Introduction
The bombing of the Rainbow Warrior was a significant event in the history of New Zealand. It was the
first ever act of terrorism in New Zealand. On July the 10th 1985 two French spies planted 2 bombs
on Greenpeace s the Rainbow Warrior. At 11:38pm the first bomb went off blasting a hole about the
size of a car. Then at 11:45pm the second bomb went off. Photographer Fernando Pereira drowned
when the vessel sunk as after the first blast went off he went a tried to retrieve his camera equipment.
This tragic event had a lot of consequences as not only did it kill Fernando it also put fear in the minds
of New Zealanders because it was the first ever act of terrorism in the country. This report will
describe what was happening leading up to the event with the nuclear free legislation starting to take
effect in New Zealand at the time and also the cold war was starting to heat up again. It will also
describe what the Rainbow Warrior was used for before the sinking of it when it was with Greenpeace
and when it was with UK ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The report will also explain
what happen on the day of the bombing and the trial of the two French spies. It will also describes in
the report the consequences of this act of terrorism to the relationship of ANZUS and the nuclear free
legislation. The report will also analyse the significance of the bombing to New Zealand with the

audience. In addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career
information. These young mothers would have benefited to know about the hygiene career. Add a
slide in my presentation going over flexibility and pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our group s
presentation, I did not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience needs. At red

The Cultural And Racial Unity Of All Indigenous People
Since 1492, the year in which Christopher Columbus discovered the New World, the Native
Americans , or American Indians , the original inhabitants of these newfound lands, became a source
of dispute and conflict. The terminology of the word Indian suggests the cultural and racial unity of all
indigenous people, but it was not an idea shared by them. On the contrary, a huge variety of
languages, traditions, cultures, lifestyles, existed among the indigenous populations, and had done so
for thousands of years. The unifying notion of Indian gave a label to all natives, failed to recognise
their differences, and became a tool of legitimisation of the Spanish colonisation of these people .
After making a claim of these lands, the Spanish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following these philosophical and political ideas gave legitimacy to the categorization of people as
inferior and superior races, and therefore the marginalisation of the indigenous people at the expense
of the domination of the white nation . The Mexican state used this European philosophy to reinforce
their claims that the indigenous race was incapable of understanding civilised culture. David Brading
describes the indigenous peasant s lifestyle in the eye of the Mexican white or mestizo as that of
industrious ants , not that of a free citizens of a liberal republic , thus reinforcing their primitiveness
and backwardness. Due to their closeness to nature, the indigenous people were considered an
obstacle to the country s modernisation .
Indeed, progress and modernity were the goals set in the aftermath of the Mexican Revolution. After
most of a decade of armed conflict, national unrest and divisions was born a desire to rebuild the
nation based on new ideals in the 1920 s. While previously the country had been divided due to a lack
of common history, character, race, and language, where indigenous communities resembled separate
countries in which inhabitants did not participate in national life, the Mexican state thought that unity
and cooperation among all races would forge a new and stronger nation. As the

Proserpina And The Pomegranate Seedds Summary
Proserpina and the Pomegranate Seeds
Some time ago, magnificent goddess, Ceres, gave birth to a beautiful girl named Proserpina. One
morning, Ceres was instructed to leave. Being the goddess of agriculture, she was often busy helping
crops grow and prosper. Ceres promptly informed Proserpina that she would be leaving for a short
while, reminding her never to wander in the fields alone, and to stay with the sea nymphs because they
will always protect her. Regardless of her mother s warning, Proserpina was curious and adventurous.
Her mother instructing her to stay away from the fields only heightened her want to explore. Shortly

his harsh voice as best as he could, he told her words of reassurance.
You are in no danger, he said, for me and my people promise not to do you any harm. They call me
King Pluto. I am kind of diamonds and of all other precious stones.
Despite his attempt, Proserpina cried nothing but Let me go home. to which Pluto responded, My

windows. Due to the lack of sunshine there, the halls are illuminated with diamond lamps. Once they

The Image Of Plastic Surgery Essay
The media puts forth a plethora of information to the general public. Appearance is a major idea in
society that is constantly put out on mainstream media. The image of seemingly perfect celebrities and
stars are heavily rotated, and have lasting effects on millions of Americans who are unhappy with their
body image. Plastic surgery has become common amongst middle class women, and a rapid increase
in male plastic surgery has been noted in recent years. Constant exposure to the perfect body image in
the media puts harm in the very idea that the human body comes in all shapes and sizes. Despite the
temptations of a perfect body and plastic surgery to fix imperfections, it is completely possible to
maintain a positive sense of self while facing standards and expectations that are nearly impossible to
obtain. The perfect body is an image that is put out by the media for both men and women. In our
society, the standard for women is that they maintain slim bodies with certain features being larger.
The standard for men is that they work out and maintain muscular bodies. Nancy Clark touches upon
this concept in her 2004 article Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... Are Muscular Men the Best of All? Clark
explains that men tend to see themselves as too small, and maintain a constant thirst to grow in mass.
Muscle dysmorphia is a new syndrome emerging behind gym doors. You might notice it in your gym s
weight room. Some weightlifters pathologically believe their muscles are too small.

Eating Disorders And Gymnastics Essay
Eating Disorders And Gymnastics
Eating disorders are especially common among athletes because the pressure of the sport environment
frequently precipitates the onset of these problems. In this population, certain compulsive behaviors
such as excessive exercise and restricted eating patterns are seen as acceptable, and pathogenic
methods of weight control are often introduced. In addition, concern about body size and shape is
increased because of the social influence for thinness [from coaches and peers], anxiety about athletic
performance, and negative self appraisal of athletic achievement (Williamson et al. 1995). Finally, the
competitive nature of sports reinforces characteristics such as perfectionism, high achievement ...

Some male athletes do use extreme methods for losing weight, but an important difference exists
between these and the self starvation strategies of anorexics. For instance, a wrestler s perception of
his body is not distorted and when he is not competing, he can regain the weight with ease.
Do female gymnasts suffer an even greater risk?
As demonstrated by such famous gymnasts as Kathy Johnson and Nadia Comaneci who have
struggled with eating disorders themselves, women s gymnastics seems designed for the disease (
Dying for a medal 1994). In the 1992 NCAA survey, 51% of the gymnastics programs that responded
reported this illness among its team members, a far greater percentage than in any other sport ( Dying
to win 1994). Unfortunately, the real number is probably even higher.
Why might gymnasts be more vulnerable to eating disorders?
Anorexia often strikes young women who try to evade the natural process of becoming adults and who
use excessive measures to maintain a thin and girlish figure the exact description of what today s
female gymnast must accomplish to stay competitive at its highest levels. For these athletes, the onset
of womenhood is their biggest fear because it means developing hips or breasts that might hinder their
performance. Thus, starving themselves offers the most convenient solution to their problem. In
addition, many of these girls begin training specifically for this sport since the time they

Examining Good and Bad Conscience in Friedrich Nietzsche s...
Friedrich Nietzsche is recognized for being one of the most influential German philosophers of the
modern era. He is known for his works on genealogy of morality, which is a way to study values and
concepts. In Genealogy of Morals, Friedrich Nietzsche mentions that values and concepts have a
history because of the many different meanings that come with it. Nietzsche focused on traditional
ethical theories, especially those rooted in religion. Not being a religious man, he believed that human
life has no moral purpose except for the significance that human beings give it. People from different
backgrounds and circumstances in history bend morality s meaning, making it cater to the norms of
their society. For example, the concept of what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concept of guilt was first recognized as being similar with the German word debt. A person in
debt was seen as being the one guilty (Nietzsche 2010). According to Nietzsche, men were privileged
with the ability to make and keep promises. With that in mind he always believed that in order for
society to continue to work, men must enter into a world of promises that they can keep and deliver
back. In order to keep a promise one must require a powerful memory and a confidence that their
promise will be carried out. For whatever reason man is unsuccessful or fails to remember to keep a
promise he then becomes the indebted to the creditor , the person to whom the promise was made
(Rattan 2010). The creditor is then looked at as being superior over the debtor, while the debtor is
inferior to the creditor, because he owes him something. As a way of gaining personal satisfaction, the
creditor would go through extremes to feel paid off by the debtor , hence, punishment (Rattan 2010).
In the essay of genealogy of morals it mentioned that as some forms of punishment they would,
impale on a stake, ripping people apart or stamping them to death with horses, boiling the criminal in
oil or wine (Rattan 2010). Other forms of punishment also included the creditors taking the debtors
valuable possessions or inflict pain as a method of causing

father did something few people have ever ever achieved. He became a ghost. As a ghost... Billy s
father was an exceptionally brilliant spook. Which is to say that he was very very shiny. Billy s father
ghost like presence was harnessed by a highly cultivated civilization to power their light bulbs. Yet
despite being drained by billions upon billions of light bulbs... Billy s father still shined, ever brighter.
No matter how large the civilization grew. Billy s father s mojo was the ever constant electricity. Until

Legal Ethics Implication Of The Lived Experience Of...
Legal ethics implication in the study of The lived experience of indigenous people toward repeated
volcanic eruption: A phenomenology study
Several ethical issues need to be concerned in this study. Firstly is the Beneficience and Non
maleficence issue. The purpose of this research is to explore the participant experience toward
volcanic eruptions, it potentially induced past trauma and caused fear or anxiety (Giarratano, Savage,
Barcelona deMendoza, Harville, 2014). Therefore, researcher must reduce the risk and harm by
providing debriefing facility (or alike). Researcher also should consider to stop the interview process
if the participant got distressed in the middle of interview process. Regarding a distress participant in
this research, due to the cultural differences and unavailability of debriefing facility, researcher will
refer the participant to the spiritual leader. In regards to the data obtained from distress participant, it
will be deleted or utilized based on their permission.
Secondly is the issue of anonymity and confidentiality of the participant. Ensuring that no one
including the researcher can not link the information to the participant is very challenging (Coup
Schneider, 2007). To maximize the effort of protecting participant anonymity and confidentiality, the
researcher suggested to use pseudonyms (or invented/fake names). Pseudonyms is usefull to protect

Essay Comparing Two Open Universities
Comparing two Open Universities within the Common Wealth:
Athabasca University and the Allama Iqbal Open University at Islamabad
When the Open University of the United Kingdom (OU UK) opened its doors in 1969 it was
considered a revolution in higher education by many pedagogues. In the forty years that followed 80
similar higher open education institutes were established (Peters, O. 2010, p57 81). The common
denominator of this new generation of distance universities is that they are open. During the OU UK
inauguration Lord Crowther stated: We are open as to people ; as to places ; as to methods ; and finally
to ideas (cf. Tunstall 1974, in Peters, O. 2010, p 62). What this openness entails, depends largely on
the social, economic, and political circumstances in the country in which an open university is

The Transformation of the International System due to the...
Rise of Networks and ICTs are transforming the International System
Introduction
Revolution in Information Technology has changed the entire meaning of International Social and
Economic System. This change became more prominent in the fourth quarter of twentieth century
when the core activities of circulation, consumption and production of markets, information,
technology, labor, capital and raw materials all started to be controlled globally. These activities are
now organized directly or by means of network connection between business and economic agents.
This system of new economy is more commonly known as globalization and when we talk about it,
the first thing that comes to mind is an instant exchange of information and trading by means of
networks. Information and communication technology has played a major role in globalizing the
world and transforming the international social and economic system.
Globalization has now created the business market networks in which the whole world participates to
raise the economy and thus profitability. In fact, it is now not possible to think of globalization without
understanding the concept of networks. In order to compete with the rest of the world, every nation or
business has to grow their network.
As noted in World Summit on IT, Information and Communication technology is acting like a catalyst
in making development to social and economic system of the world. ICT is expected and already

We Were Liars Essay
What actually defines success? In the book We Were Liars, written by E. Lockhart, the protagonist
Cadence Sinclair is starting to reinvent herself, as she becomes more and more aware of the world
outside or her small isolated bubble of rich people, dripping with privilege. The Sinclairs spends entire
summers on their private island, drinking expensive wine and eating posh food. Their worst nightmare
is being abnormal, hence the carefully crafted outer image of the perfect family, which, of course,
could not possibly be more inaccurate. Cadence s, or Cady s, grandfather is ruling the roost, with his
three daughter at his feet, who are all hoping to one day inherit his fortune. Throughout the entire
book, Cady is starting to challenge what is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We were liars is a story about the ideals we are all supposed to aspire to, simply because of the way
our society defines success; as being forceful, reckless, hasty and bold. The dauntless ideal Cadence
falls prey for. I think the book is trying to shed light on the insidious backside of our idea of heroism,
and the too often gruesome consequences it might bring. That it more frequently than not results in the
unnecessary suffering of others. Cady s cousin Mirren on the other hand, had a very different life
motto: Always be kinder than you have to . Despite being just as privileged as Cady, she manage to do
what Cady fails so strikingly. Mirren shows that it is not impossible to

Hunting
Hunting
Hunting has been around since before man was even thought of and has evolved ever since. Now only
a sport, ounce was a skill used to survive. Hunting is a natural, ethical, and healthy undertaking (
History , par1). Hunting is a way of life without hunting nothing would live that s why we have a food
chain. Herbivores eat plants, carnivores eat herbivores and bigger carnivores eat other carnivores.
Perhaps one of the eldest activities on the face of the planet is hunting ( History of hunting , par 1).
Hunting has been one of the oldest activities known to mankind. During the first era of hunting men
were to learn how to hunt so they could hunt daily and bring food home every night to eat. The

A caliber is the size if the bullet that the gun will shoot. Bows have been around a lot longer than guns,
created by the Indians to make hunting easier. A bow works like a type of sling shot to shoot a spear.
Making the speed a lot greater than throwing it by hand. There are over a thousand different types of
bows and over a million different arrows for bows. When hunting seasons where created so where
different types of weapon seasons. This allowed bow hunters to hunt before gun hunters because bows
are more difficult to use. So allowing them to hunt first gave
them a better chance at getting an animal. These hunting seasons also allow the animals to breed
without becoming extinct. Some of the animals hunted have been taken out of the hunting seasons
because of their near extinction.
One of the oldest animals hunted is still hunted today and that is the deer. Some history experts believe
that the whitetail deer went through several population stages in the past 500 years due to the hunting
of them ( Deer Hunting History , par 2). Whitetail deer offered early era hunters more than just a food
value. The deer hides were used for many different items like moccasins, skirts, dresses, leggings,
robes, mittens, head wear, blankets, pouches, bags, archery quivers, straps, and many other things.
Like today early hunters were also trophy hunters,

The Effects Of Global Warming On Human Activity
Debates about global warming have received much attention in the last few years. Opponents may say
global warming is a natural cause however, the reality is global warming is occurring due to human
activity. Global warming is best defined as a term used to describe a gradual increase in the average
temperature of the Earth s atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently
changing the Earth s climate. Global warming does not only increase temperature it is also capable of
decreasing temperature in Earth s climate. Global warming is occurring due to human activity because
of industrial purposes, lack of education, nuclear power waste and testing, automobile pollution and
greenhouse gases. Increase in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ever since the industrial revolution earth s atmosphere has begun to heat up. The Industrial Revolution
was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between
1820 and 1840. During that time period burning coal was used to power machines and factories. Coal
is considered a fossil fuel, it is unreplaceable. Also burning coal is harmful for the environment.
Although the use of coal has decreased, it is still in places and its harming the environment.
Greenhouse gases harm the environment dramatically. Green house gas is best known as any gaseous
compound in the atmosphere that is capable of absorbing infrared radiation, thereby trapping and
holding heat in the atmosphere (A Blanket Around the Earth, 1). By increasing the heat in the
atmosphere, greenhouse gases are responsible for the greenhouse effect, which ultimately leads to
global warming. Most climate scientists agree the main cause of the current global warming trend is
human expansion of the greenhouse effect (A Blanket Around the Earth, 1). So its obvious greenhouse
gases which are a caused by human activity are a major contribution to global warming. Long lived
gases that remain semi permanently in the atmosphere and do not respond physically or chemically to
changes in temperature and described as forcing climate change (A Blanket Around the Earth, 1). This
quote shows how greenhouse gases cause changes in the

Language And The Connection Between Dystopia And Language
Up till now, language has not been largely studied in relation to dystopian fiction. Gorman Beauchamp
(1974) was one of the first to draw connections between dystopia and language, however he did not
treat language as a major interest of dystopia. Following that, Robert Baker argued that a motif of
language ran through dystopian texts (1990), but as he focused only on Brave New World, it is
difficult to extrapolate it to anything more general, much less all of dystopian fiction. David Sisk
(1997) wrote that scholars have tended to examine concerns with language ... as minor interests, points
that enrich ... but do not play a central role (11). Similarly, Eike Kühl laments the shortage of

Due to the attractiveness of the past, which represents better times, the Controllers decide that [they]
don t want people to be attracted by old things (150). By removing physical mementoes, and
furthermore conditioning society to refuse the past, it removes desire for something different, thus
society finds life sufficient. First, language from the past is removed, with majority of languages
described as dead (18), because by removing different languages, everyone is forced into uniformity.
Without different languages, there is a reduction in subversive action, and there cannot be an upheaval
through the use of a foreign language that the state cannot understand, and thus there is less chance of
conspiracy, and revolution is subdued. Second, there is the physical removal of literature and writing,
with the suppression of all books published before A.F. 150 (38). By wiping out books, they not only

A Brief Note On Pharmacology And The Nursing Process
Digoxin

University of Texas at Arlington
Pharmacology and the Nursing Process

Sandra Laird
April 1, 2015 OVERVIEW OF DIGOXIN
Origin
Digoxin is a drug gotten from the leaves of a digitalis plant ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 1). We commonly
refer to this plant as foxglove but we also use its botanical name, which is Digitalis purpurea when
discussing it ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Foxglove is a popular flower that can be found growing along
the roadsides and in meadows or waterlogged areas usually in the western region of the United States (
Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). Although this plant can now be found in America, European immigrants
originally brought Foxglove into the United States centuries ago ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 2). William
Withering first described the therapeutic effect of this plant in 1785 ( Digitalis, 2015, para. 4).
Drug Class
Digoxin is grouped under a class of drugs known as cardiac glycosides (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014,
p. 387). Cardiac Glycosides are a class of drugs known as cardiac drugs (Lilley, Collins, Snyder, 2014,
p. 387). They are the oldest group of cardiac drugs that are recognized to have beneficial effects on
people with failing heart and help in controlling the heart s ventricular rate (Lilley, Collins, Snyder,
2014, p. 387). These drugs help make the heart beat stronger and with a more regular rhythm. In
previous years, cardiac glycosides (digoxin) were used as the first line drugs for heart

The Credibility Of The News Media
There has been news about many attacks happening worldwide. The government always finds a way
to make it through the media into our attention trying to fix up the stories. I believe it is important that
the news media become independent from the government because if not, then the stories will be so
distorted you won t know who is speaking the truth. The government is always separate, they
constantly try to cover themselves up so they won t seem as the bad person in the story. If they could

would the government really try to look as if they are the bad people in the story? No, that s just crazy.

Another disaster Bag of Toys could suffer from is the corruption of the system. In this way the

Quiet Girl Monologue
For a while, my life was full of fear. I was afraid of not being accepted for who I was. As a result of
that, I learned to make myself invisible to unwanted attention. I suppose you could say I would hide
amongst the shadows. To my friends, I was one person, but to others, I was the quiet girl just the quiet
girl, and I hated it. I wanted to be more than that and to do that I needed to be anyone but me. To make
that change I decided I would start by starting a conversation with a stranger. After a few days of
putting my plan on my opportunity finally came. I was at the library looking for Harry Potter and the
Prisoner of Azkaban. While I was searching for the book, I noticed a girl about my age standing a few
feet away. With an immediate boost of confidence, I walk towards the brunette. Unfortunately, that
courage seemed to disappear as quickly as it came and I ended up mumbling something that sounded
gibberish and walked away as fast as I could. I remember feeling my face heat up and glancing down
at my trembling hands. At that point, I did not know what made me more upset the fact that I could not
bring myself to talk to someone or the fact that I forgot my book. Days passed since that dreadful
incident, and my hopes of being known for something other than a quiet girl disappeared that is ...

The Effects Of Brain Games On The Brain
From what we have learned in class about studies done on the brain there are a few conclusions that
can be made. Dr.Simons was surprised about the outcome of the experiment he did not get strong
enough results towards the outcome he wanted/predicted. He stated it would be really nice if you
could play some games and have it radically change your cognitive abilities (Simons). One example
from class to describe the experiment done by Dr.Simons is their sensation. I believe that something

They stated that the brain games have not shown a clear benefit so far in the study but they are not
sure where the study really went wrong he thinks it is more of the way the participates went about the
study. One overall finding was that people do not work the brain hard enough or over a long enough
time period, it takes mental effort to practice to be able to see results (Rebok). Rebok says if we can
implement that long range, I think that there will be a big dividend eventually. Simons stated they did
find a few good studies, which showed that brain games do help people get better at a specific task. He
then gave the example of scanning baggage at an airport and looking for a knife. He says you get
really, really good at spotting that knife (Simons). Overall they got an even handed amount of results
so some would say it would help and others would say it did not, I think for them to be able to say
brain games helped they would need it to work for more than half of their participates.
Personally, I have never used a brain training game; maybe I will try one in the future. I used this site

When you get a firm grasp on operating systems, then you should learn some other software. Things
such as Perl, Oracle, and Apache are good to know. Perl is a programming language that can be used
to create many, many things. Among them being web sites. The system administrator is oftentimes
called upon to also double as webmaster for the company. Therefore, knowing how to create and
maintain a web page is very helpful. Oracle is a database program. It would come in handy for
keeping track of employees...where they go while on the internet, their phone number, salary, and a
number of other things. Apache is a server software. It got its name from being a spin off of a previous
software that was patched (a patchy). It hosts more than 50% of all the sites in the world. As before,
there is almost an infinite amount of knowledge of software that could all be helpful, but knowing
everything is almost impossible. So if you don t know it all, don t worry. You can always take classes

There was also walnut, which was one of the only types of wood grown locally that was considered
fine, or fancy. One type of imported wood was mahogany. It was imported from the Caribbean and
was very expensive. It was usually used for dressers and cabinets, but could be used for tables and
candlestands as well. This shows that only wealthy people would buy finer furniture because it was
fashionable and expensive. Although mostly the English used Woodworking, the Native Americans
did too. Native Americans did some woodworking. The Native Americans made tools out of bone
from dead animals. They made different tools from different bones. One tool they made from bone
was the axe. This shows that Native Americans did not have access to metal and used an alternative
resource for woodworking. Some Woodworkers were well known more than others.
Some noted Woodworkers not only built but sometimes fixed parts of the town. There were famous
woodworkers such as Benjamin Powell, who fixed the Public Gaol. James Morris, who supervised
construction on the Bruton Parish Church. John Wheatley did repairs on the Palace and helped on
Carter s Grove Plantation. A man named Christopher Ford built the 2nd Capital Building in Colonial
Williamsburg. This shows that Woodworkers played an important role in the construction of Colonial
Williamsburg. Such a job does have a good income. The Colonial Woodworker worked on many jobs,
for which he was paid.

Mother Goddess In Greek God
The definition of the Mother Goddess is that she represents or is a personification of nature,
motherhood, fertility, creation, destruction, or who embodies the bounty of the earth. Gaia, the first
Greek God, is the primordial deity in the Ancient Greek pantheon and considered a Mother Goddess
or Great Goddess. Some attributes of Gaia are that she is the Earth, fruits, a primal Mother Goddess,
complete in herself. I believe that if the Mother Goddess was once again the most popular spirituality
on the planet, things would change drastically. For example, men would be more in touch with their
emotions it would be normal and not shunned or looked down upon. In today s world, for some reason
men think that they have something to prove, they think that they need to be the bread winners. If they
are anything less than that then they feel weak and incompetent. I believe that if The Mother Goddess
was worshiped now men wouldn t feel so entitled. Us humans would treat each other, plants and
animals better. Crime rates would dramatically decrease, it defiantly would not be as high as it is
today. Men and woman would work together again, making it where instead of viewing women as

The Purpose Of Tort Law
The essential purpose and most basic principle of tort law is that the plaintiff must be placed in the
position he or she would have been in absent the defendant s fault or negligence. It is impossible to
fully restore the plaintiff, as he will never be fully restored. However, compensation is the best way to
put the plaintiff back into his original position. Even though most resources of the tort system are
spent on dealing with claims, it is a very slow process as it is so complex because it involves many
parties. It is often time consuming and expensive to file a claim, making it very cost ineffective. The

The court system does not seem to base their judgment on legal elements and legal facts but a major
consideration on public policy and interest. This can be seen in Barnett v Chelsea Kensington Hospital
, where the ratio is that the patient would have died anyway in spite of the doctor s examination. To
impose a liability on the doctor would give rise to many claims, involving many unnecessary claims.
However, doctors duty is to examine a patient and decide on the plan of treatment, where in this case,
the doctor did not even examine the patient. The reluctance of the court to impose a liability on public
bodies can also be seen in Alcock v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police . The court was
reluctant to impose a liability on the police force, even when the Taylor Report reported that the
accident was caused by the negligence of the police force, as they let too many supporters in. There
are enough facts in these two cases to impose a liability on the doctor and the police department
respectively, however, the reluctant approach from the court towards public bodies have resulted in
unsuccessful claims in these two cases. In Alcock v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police , there
is also the issue regarding the cost of deterring beneficial activities. As the Hillsborough disaster was

1922. O Neill won his first Pulitzer Prize for Beyond the Horizon (1920). He won two more for Anna
Christie (1922) and Strange Interlude (1928) and one posthumously for
Long Day s Journey into Night (1957). In 1929, O Neill divorced Agnes and married
Carlotta Monterey, his third and final wife. O Neill received the Nobel Prize for literature in 1936,

  • 2. What Steroids Can Do To Your Body A bloodcurdling feeling spreads throughout the arena, a smell so menacing that even the men inside the ring don t know what will happen next. The roars of men are zipping through the air as bodies are torn limb from limb. Grotesque as this image may be only a few hundred years ago were people competing in stadiums adorned by thousands of viewers. Competition has always been a part of human nature, ever since the first man put his foot onto this planet the race has been on. Certainly competition has changed as years have gone by. First we competed for food on a daily basis, competition was needed in order to just make it through the day, as many years began to pass competition began to turn into daze in which people could watch others fight for their lives fighting against creatures from other parts of the world unknown to their own. Our view of the world tends to tilt towards the negative (Ledgerwood).Losing helps prevent making the same mistakes next time. Growth and fixed mindset can affect the failure and success in life because Growth mindset is intelligences wants to grow and learn more.Fixed mindset is intelligences stays the same that want to not learn they say do i look smart am i acting like i m smart. When thinking about dreams and obstacles that get in the way of you good dream and the people who will succeed more because they overcame that obstacle in their dream.Try to fight against all the negative things coming your way.Studies show that a negative thought can be changed but it takes a lot of time and effort.Studies show that a negative thought can be changed but it takes a lot of time and effort. • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Cooperatives 14.31 Workers co operatives In large public companies, management and ownership are separate. By contrast, in workers co operatives employees will have contributed towards the capital of the organisation and may elect managers at annual meetings. The advantage of workers co operatives is that all workers can take part in discussions regarding their firm. Therefore, there is a strong incentive for workers to work harder and increase profitability if they anticipate receiving higher dividends from their shares. Another advantage is that taking part in the decision‐making process helps to motivate workers. However if the co operative becomes bankrupt then the workers will lose both their jobs and the value of their shares. It may then be difficult to persuade employees to put more capital into the business. The objectives of co operatives are usually to provide goods and services to consumers at reasonable prices and to pay fair wages to the workers. • 5. Impact Of Orientalism In Western Music History is about the present as much as it is concerned with the past because the past forms the foundation of how things are today which will also become history in years to come. As my own practice is music heavily influenced by the west, I will be exploring the definition of Orientalism and The Primitive and Pagan in Contemporary Art with some analysis of their long history before identifying their effects on today s western music. Famous orientalist, Edward Said, explained in his book Orientalism that through European colonization, the Europeans established orientalism, the study of Orientals, as a way to define themselves as the superior race compared to Orientals and justify their colonization. As the study of Orientals expanded, Westerners generalized attributes of Easterners and started forming their own knowledge about Easterners. Hence, Orientalism can now be defined as Western stereotypes about Eastern people. By this definition, orientalism can be found in rock music like Arabian Knights by Siousie and The Banshees and has affected the way lyrics are written in songs. In Arabian Knights, the lyrics Myriad lights I d be impressed Arabian Knights at your primitive best supports the idea that the arabian area is primitive unlike Western ... On the contrary, a huge variety of languages, traditions, cultures, lifestyles, existed among the indigenous populations, and had done so for thousands of years. Plastic surgery has become common amongst middle class women, and a rapid increase in male plastic surgery has been noted in recent years. As demonstrated by such famous gymnasts as Kathy Johnson and Nadia Comaneci who have struggled with eating disorders themselves, women s gymnastics seems designed for the disease ( Dying for a medal 1994). In the 1992 NCAA survey, 51% of the gymnastics programs that responded reported this illness among its team members, a far greater percentage than in any other sport ( Dying to win 1994). According to Nietzsche, men were privileged with the ability to make and keep promises. With that in mind he always believed that in order for society to continue to work, men must enter into a world of promises that they can keep and deliver back. In order to keep a promise one must require a powerful memory and a confidence that their promise will be carried out. For whatever reason man is unsuccessful or fails to remember to keep a promise he then becomes the indebted to the creditor , the person to whom the promise was made (Rattan 2010). The creditor is then looked at as being superior over the debtor, while the debtor is inferior to the creditor, because he owes him something. As a way of gaining personal satisfaction, the creditor would go through extremes to feel paid off by the debtor , hence, punishment (Rattan 2010). In the essay of genealogy of morals it mentioned that as some forms of punishment they would, impale on a stake, ripping people apart or stamping them to death with horses, boiling the criminal in oil or wine (Rattan 2010). Gorman Beauchamp (1974) was one of the first to draw connections between dystopia and language, however he did not treat language as a major interest of dystopia. Following that, Robert Baker argued that a motif of language ran through dystopian texts (1990), but as he focused only on Brave New World, it is difficult to extrapolate it to anything more general, much less all of dystopian fiction. David Sisk (1997) wrote that scholars have tended to examine concerns with language ... as minor interests, points that enrich ... but do not play a central role (11). First, language from the past is removed, with majority of languages described as dead (18), because by removing different languages, everyone is forced into uniformity. Without different languages, there is a reduction in subversive action, and there cannot be an upheaval through the use of a foreign language that the state cannot understand, and thus there is less chance of conspiracy, and revolution is subdued. Second, there is the physical removal of literature and writing, with the suppression of all books published before A.F. 150 (38).
