The Popularity Of British Football
British football is definitely one of the most hit sports in the world. Besides, the highly
competitive structures of football competitions in Britain, including promotions, inter club
transfers and ownership transfers has allowed its fan base around the world to keep growing. Its
charm has attracted not only football followers around the world, but also the local and
international buyers. More importantly, English football clubs are still very good in making
money out of the game. According to a report from Deloitte s sports business group, English
football clubs have earned combined revenue of 2.98 billion Euros (Choudhury, 2016). The
popularity of British Football clubs is very large, as well as the whole football culture in the... Show

By the year 1871, 50 clubs had become the members of the football association. In 1872, the first
football competition in the world was initiated as FA Cup. In the same year, Great Britain made it
first international football match between England and Scotland. By the year 1888, the first league
championship was on the move. The rapid rise of organised football gave a start to the development
of professionalism and speculation in the sport. The popularity of the sport also influenced its
spread outside the country; therefore other European countries also started forming their football
associations. This ultimately led to the consistent development of international football community
(FIFA.com, 2016).
Opposite to the fact that England has been historically dominant in football, the England national
football team has won the World Cup only once in 1966. Also, in terms of national football team,
the United Kingdom is not represented as one team. Instead, all the countries in the UK England,
Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales have their own football teams (Bloomsbury
international.com, 2014).
Despite the failure of the national team of the home country of football, Britain has generated one
of the most dominated and the most unpredictable football leagues, English Premier League, and
many of the best football clubs not only in the entire Europe but also in the world. The English
Premier League (EPL), also called as

Acute Consumption Of Cannabis And Driving Performance
According to the textbook, Understanding the research game begins with an identification of the
institution supporting the research through funding and hiring researchers as well as granting
permission for the research (Wilkins, 2011). The institution preforming and supporting this
research is called BMJ. BMJ is a pair reviewed medical research journal aimed at providing first
class information concerning issues. In addition, the BMJ assists medical organizations and
clinicians in tacking today s most critical healthcare challenges. ( Our expertise | BMJ , 2016) As
stated in the textbook, The purpose of the research concerns the motivation of the researchers given
institutional parameters as well as the research topic applied . (Wilkins, 2011). That being said, the
purpose of this study is to determine whether the acute consumption of cannabis(cannabinoids) by
drivers increases the risk of a motor vehicle collision. Hence, one can say that the explicit reason
for this research is squared on the relationships between the acute consumption of cannabis and
driving performance. On the contrary, the implicit purpose of the research is to reduce the number
of vehicle collisions caused my acute consumption of cannabis (marijuana). The report also aims
to assist health care professionals discover the effects of cannabis on driving performance. I do not

Dream In The American Dream
The American Dream, has stereotypically branded a permanent mental image of a successful and
stunning married couple standing in front of their perfect white picket fence, 1.5 children, and in
the back ground is their classic, cookie cutter, utopian house. However, this idea has wrongly
become the standard model to living a successful life. This American Dreamnow excludes a large,
diverse group of people; the poor and the immigrants who have given everything to migrate and
relocate only to have their dreams become farther away from reality. This harsh, and rather
unrealistic, utopian mental picture does not accurately show the dreams of all people, and is only
merely a dreamsociety has portrayed. Millennials especially, have taken note and are reacting with
very different mindsets than the generations that have come before them. The millennials desire
more and are attempting to make a change. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to
understand. Dreams have strange concepts that some people do not fully comprehend, especially
ones that seem out of range. However, fantasy is an essential component in surviving. Dreams and
goals differ, yet are constantly mixed up, confused and misused. The terms are unique in their own
ways, have very distinct aspects but somehow still become intertwined. People s modern goals
typically include graduating school, getting a degree, obtaining a job and becoming successful
enough to have a decent paycheck that supports all the basic

Culture Of Solidarity
In this article Building a Culture of Solidarity: Racial Discourse, Black Lives Matter, and
Indigenous Social Justice by Santos F. Ramos, a non Black Xicano academic engages in a
movement like Black Lives Matter(BLM) to help both Latino and Black communities for social
justice, to show his solidarity, and to battle anti blackness in his own community before
everywhere else. Ramos puts himself as an example to his people and points out issues throughout
the article that need to be addressed in order to build a cross culture solidarity among communities
of color.

First, Ramos mentioned the spread of BLM which impacted all people of color
and showed racismespecially upon Black communities. Ramos seeks to get people to understand
that in order to face the violence done by the cops, we have to acknowledge our similarities, our
differences, and our oppressions to approach... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the hashtag of BLM has started on twitter and attracted big audience, people started to use it
for their own causes and change to hashtags like #LatinoLivesMatter , #NativeLivesMatter for
media attention. Ramos is arguing that this change from Black lives to our lives is taking away
from BLM and erasing the origins and all the work that has been done to make this movement. All
the similar tags that were on social media with intentions of being in solidarity with Black
communities didn t really help the need of non Black people to consider the anti Blackness in their
neighborhoods. For us to be in solidarity with BLM means that we need to seriously and actively
interrogate the anti Blackness we find within our own Latino communities .

 Ramos
discussed the concept of race within different cultural frameworks. The dichotomy of Black and
White he showed in the article, was necessary to show the base of the struggles. To be sure, it is
necessary to understand how people of color are oppressed in a hierarchical manner, with some
groups being granted more rights and

The Value Of Loan Payment Essay
Annuity Due an annuity due in which all the cash flow occurs at the beginning of each period (
Titman et al, 2014,p. 167). Annuity dues are payment such as apartment rent payment at the
beginning of the period. The outstanding of the loan information is helpful beyond the professional
front. The outstanding interestrate can be calculated by using the same formula as a present value
with a slight variation. The present outstanding value of the loan = PMT [1 1/ (1+ annual rate of
interest/m) ^number of years *m / annual rate of interest/m]. Here, m is a number of times
compounding occurred in the year. Note The book Financial management suggests the balance
amount of loan one owes must be equal to the present value of the remaining loan payment (Titman
et all, 2014). The information regarding the calculation of loan and outstanding loan gave us a fair
idea about how the loan financing occur. Another important aspect learned is how the principle and
interest affect the amount of any loan. This knowledge also brought other factors into consideration
such as refinancing mortgage loancost. The refinancing cost involves distinct hidden costs such as
appraisal fee, legal fee, origination fee, and application. Hence, if one plan to refinance the loan by
getting attracted to lower interest rate. The refinance must put some extra moneyaside to pay the
refinancing cost.
Future Value of Annuity payment due PMT [(1+ i) ^n 1 / i] (1+ i).

City Symphony Orchestra
Case: City Symphony Orchestra
The City Symphony Orchestra is a branch of the Center for Performing Arts. It performs regular
concerts throughout the year and has been reasonably profitable in the past. However, in recent
years, concert attendance has been declining and the Orchestra is looking for ways to boost
attendance.
The traditional customers of the Orchestra have been the older and more affluent segment of the
population that live in the suburbs. The recent boom in the high tech sector, however, has created
an affluent population that is younger and has different musical tastes. This younger affluent group
prefers to live in the city rather than commute from the suburbs. Older people concerned about

The Enlightenment And The Scientific Revolution
Inspired by the Renaissance, Humanism and Individualism, the Scientific Revolution, John Locke,
and the Age of Discovery, and Religious Wars, the Enlightenment in Europe sparked a movement of
change and progress. During the Enlightenment, humans were focused on improving their lives and
letting go of or expanding on ancient texts that had set the previous standards. The Scientific
Revolution was one event that provided a sturdy foundation to the Enlightenment by having solid
evidence of things in the world being contrary to what everyone had thought for years. The proofs
from the Revolution were a strong basis for progress in the Enlightenment. During the
Enlightenment, the concept of unalienable rights was a hot topic, Even if each man... Show more

The cultural values of nature, reason, and progress were the cultural values that shaped and created
the Enlightenment. Without those values, there would have been no Enlightenment. The main
values of the Enlightenment, nature, reason, and progress, can be seen slightly in some events
predating the Enlightenment. The Scientific Revolution was the great cornerstone to build further
ideas upon. People like Galileo and Newton carved out the groundwork for the Enlightenment.
Galileo began disproving the church s theories about the universe and Newtonian developed his
idea of a Newtonian universe, making the church extremely angry. Galileo was even called to trial
for heresy against the church in 1633, ... have rendered yourself in the judgment of this Holy Office
vehemently suspected of heresy, namely, of having believed and held the doctrine which is false
and contrary to the sacred and divine Scriptures that the Sun is the center of the world and does not
move from east to west... (Roman Catholic Church 28). Newton also contributed to the
Enlightenment with his laws. His laws were used to apply to every single aspect of life during the
Enlightenment, making him the new Aristotle to an extent. The Political aspect of the
Enlightenment was the shift to unalienable rights and the almost absolute shift away from the
church. John Locke had championed the idea of life, liberty, and property, that could not

The Dynamic Character In Carver s Cathedral By Raymond Carver
In the short story Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the narrator is a dynamic character because of
the way his thoughts adjust throughout the entirety of the story. The beginning of the story
shows the narrator only being able to see physical things with his eyes. By the end, the narrator
sees a different perspective through his imagination. Robert, the blind man that visits the narrator
and his wife, brings out the imagination from within the narrator. The narrator is a dynamic
character because he changes his judgment of Robert from a more prejudice view to a more
acceptable one. The beginning of the story presents the narrator s wife working for a blind man
one summer by reading, stuff to him, case studies, reports, that sort of thing (Carver, 34). She
eventually extends an invitation for the blind man, Robert, to stay at their house after Robert s
wife had passed away. The narrator was not too happy about having a stranger stay in his home by
stating, I wasn t enthusiastic about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered
me. My idea of blindnesscame from the movies. In the movies, the blind moved slowly and never
laughed (Carver, 34). The narrator seems very timid about someone he had never met stay at his
house who can see purely nothing. This gives off an impression that the narrator doesn t want to
have Robert stay with him because he will be a hassle to keep up with since blind people in the
movies progress, slowly and never

Theme Of Water In The Aeneid
The Aeneid presents various themes throughout the course of Aeneas s journeys, but I noticed that
particularly in Books I and VI the theme of water is very prevalent and important. First we see
when Aeolus stirs up the storm, water causes so much destruction and it is completely out of
Aeneas s control. Then as he is crossing over to the underworld, Aeneasencounters Charon and the
river of Styx, where the whirlpool is murky, unknown, and dangerous. Overall, water is depicted as
a dangerous uncertainty in Aeneas s world. It is extremely powerful and has the potential to do so
much damage, however it can also be still and murky. Vergil uses imagery and descriptive diction to
enhance the theme of water as perilous and unknown throughout The Aeneid.
The theme of water is prevalent from the opening lines of the Aeneid book 1, however it is best
expressed through lines 81 130 where we see Aeolus stir up a storm against Aeneas s ships. This
idea that the water is unknown, dangerous, and out of people s control is particularly evident
throughout this excerpt. Talia iactanti stridens Aquilone procella velum adversa ferit, fluctusque ad

An Analysis of Sacrifice in Arthur Miller s All My Sons
In All My Sons sacrifice plays a crucial role in almost every part of the play. Miller explores the
impact of sacrifices made for one s family versus humanity as a whole, explicitly the direction and
intention of a sacrifice. As part of this essay, I will identify and explain what I consider to be the
most important in the play. The second aspect of sacrificein All My Sonswhich I will examine in
this essay involves the idea that not all sacrifices are actually conscious decisions; many of the
acts of sacrifice in the play could be explained simply by an escape does Joe Keller kill himself as a
final realisation of the crimes that he has committed or just as an escape from the pressure around
him?
When we first encounter the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the concept of a fine hairline crack could also be grafted onto Keller as a person: he
has a serious and life threatening flaw which is only revealed after close inspection.
In a sense, throughout the play Miller is also suggesting that just as an individual can thoroughly
disrupt a family, so can an individual completely eviscerate a society linking back to the idea of a
small crack and its massive outcome. Just as Joe Keller s denials lead to his family being torn
apart, so Miller is implying that the same is true on a much larger humanitarian scale.
As well as sacrificing morality, it is clear that towards the climax of the play, Joe sacrifices
responsibility in order to preserve himself. On page 55 George is having an argument with
Chris, Joe Keller s son when he says: And he s the kind of boss to let a hundred and twenty one
cylinder heads be repaired and shipped out of his shop without even knowing about it? This
questioning towards Keller is interesting because it shows us that George thinks he is responsible
and he even comes up with a diligent retort later on the same page which makes Joe seem like a
responsible boss; even to the audience: The same Joe Keller who never left his shop without first
going round to see that all the lights were out. This seemingly un arguable confirmation that Joe is
a responsible person is torn apart when we witness George, in a very accusatory manner, shout at
Ann: He simply told your father

Alcoholism and Angela s Ashes
Alcoholism and Angela s Ashes
Alcoholism is one of the most common disorders in the world today. It is a disease, a sickness
that harms the body and the mind in the most violent ways possible. The body is racked by a need
to suffice its desire, and this leads addicts to do anything to get the alcohol into their systems. In
Angela s Ashes, alcoholism is a major theme, and becomes the destroyer of the families and loved
ones that are involved.
In Angela s Ashes, the father Malachy is inflicted with the disease of alcoholism, and his need for
the drink leads him to use his paycheck to buy alcohol instead of using it for the basic needs of his
family. Countless times, Malachy s alcoholism harms or gets in the way of his family. Not... Show

Alcoholism is truly crippling, and he does a great job in getting this across. And in some ways,
Malachy s alcoholism helped his childrenВ—by showing them the tragic consequences of choosing
a life for the drink. From his mistakes, he children can learn and avoid alcohol.
Alcoholism is a demon, a disease, something reached for out of desperation. It helps with a person
s problem by deadening their senses, and increasing his problems at the same time by destroying
his character. When you drink, you don t have to think about all your problems, you can just let the
alcohol wash them away from your mind. But it can never take away all your problemsВ—they
still remain, just your sense to care for them is gone. Alcoholism has a great chance to pass on to
later generations, but sometimes growing up in an alcoholic family will make the children swear
off the drink because they have seen what it can turn people into. It turns them into the basic raw
human emotion of grief. They are miserable for alcohol is the only thing that can make them feel
normal after awhile, their entire bodies ache for it. Even when they have given up drinking, their
bodies can revert back after having just one drop again. Yes, alcoholism is truly a terrifying disease
of the mind and bodyВ—not just to the addict, but also to the loved ones

that the colleges were giving the server access to the understudies free of charge, then it would be
an alternate story. Yet, since the understudies are paying for the right to gain entrance, they get
rights through the exchange. Case in point, the vast majority would concur that the college would
not be permitted to preclude understudies from connecting to a site which condemned the college.
In spite of the fact that, if UCSD contended that they claim the server and they can confine their

The Americans dread of terrorists ought not to make them surrender what their nation is about. The
United States is about vote based system and opportunity of articulation. There is no compelling
reason to yield flexibility of statement with a specific end goal to stop the terrorism. Regardless of
the fact that the terrorism is decreased on the grounds that individuals were eager to surrender their
own particular rights, then the US will wind up with an alternate real issue which could adversely

This is procrastination which is never a good thing and always leads to late nights, lots of coffee,
and poor sleeping habits. I procrastinate because I tend to think I am smart and can get it done
and in a short period of time without much work and research done before. This led to me handing
in subpar papers or assignments therefore bringing my GPA to an unacceptably low level for what
I expected out of myself. Another thing I could relate the procrastination to is a lack of motivation.
In high school I didn t have to do much studying or spend time writing long papers or doing
assignments. So when I came to college I thought it would be the same way and I quickly
learned that the college work load is much different and more intense than a high school work
load. This was a major factor in my GPA being where it was. I was not extremely motivated to be
taking all the general education classes I was enrolled in and therefore did not invest the time
that I should have. Having a good GPA is not a primary instinct like hunger or thirst, it is taught
to you that you should strive to have a good GPA. Hunger, thirst, sleep, and sex are all primary
drives of motivation and are all biological needs. A reason why I think I was not satisfied with my
grades is because I was doing it for an extrinsic purpose, the grade. If I had more intrinsic
motivation and found enjoyment in the work I was doing and was actually interested in the field

Homeless And Non Homeless Lesbian, Gay, And Bisexual
The study examined two groups, homeless and non homeless Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual (LGB)
youths (Rosario, Schrimshaw, Hunter, 2012). There were a total of 156 participants between the
ages of 14 and 21 years with a mean age of 18.3 years. Participants were recruited from community
based organizations, which focused on youths and two college organizations of LGB students.
Researchers wanted to explore potential risk factors associated with the reason some LGB youths
become homeless, while others do not. The risk factors included experiencing sexual abuse,
negative responses from others based on one s sexual orientation, unbearable stress for the parent
or youth, and substance abuse. All of which are reasons one may run away from home and
become homeless. Lastly, researcher s hypothesized non homeless youth are less likely than
homeless youths to be involved in sexual abuse and early sexual identity development as it pertains
to LGB (Rosario et al., 2012).
The results revealed 75 of the 156 youths reported being homeless at some point, 57 had a history

Since Einstein had plenty of free time at the office, he dedicated that time to begin publishing
scientific papers ( Formative Years ). One of those papers included the equation E=mc2, which he
used to describe the mass and energy relationship ( Albert Einstein Biography ). In 1909, Einstein
resigned from the Patent Office and was appointed Associate Professor of theoretical physics at
Zurich University. Shortly after that, he and his wife had their second child, Eduard, and
moved to Prague, where he became a professor at the German University (Grosz). Without
teaching responsibilities, Einstein was appointed as a Professor at Berlin University in 1914. In
the same year, he and Maric separated, which resulted in her return to Zurich with her children.
By 1919, they were divorced, and Einstein and his new love, Elsa, got married. He visited the
United States for the first time in 1921, and had lectured tours in Japan and China. After the tour,
Einstein was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics (Grosz). Around this time, the Nazis became

The Importance Of Experiential Learning
Experiential learning is a unique form of learning that allows you to learn through first hand
experience outside of the classroom using skills, knowledge, and experience. It can happen through
internships, studies abroad, field trips and research, and service learning projects. This type of
learning is when a student can apply their own knowledgeto real world problems rather than a
made up problem by a teacher. David A. Kolb made this concept popular by stating that its base on
learningwhich is a process where knowledge is created through transforming experiences. It has a
cycle that does more than just learning it, it allows you to experience it, then reflect it, then
conceptualize it, and then experiment. Experiential learningis important for business students to
learn experientially because of all the elements that are taught doing the task. The reflection,
conceptualize, and experiment allows students to further engage in various different way such as
creatively, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. This creates students to become more
motivated to learn. This motivation to learn is then reflected in how they apply the content to
experiential learning and gives them opportunities. The reflection that the business students have
after experiential learned helps better prepared them for the future. The reflections create deeper
learning that can help at internships or work because they ll be better and more important when the
students are prepared and

The Pros And Cons Of Memory
Since the early days of humanity, humans have developed exceptional skills and critical thinking
capabilities which increased our capacity to communicate and interact with our environment.
Individuals are capable of holding and storing information and passing it to others. That capability
is called memorywhich is fundamental for human s day to day life. According to psychologists,
memory is defined as a brain wide process, which consists of encoding, storage and retrieval of
information (Mastin). The human memory is a complex mental process that has been analyzed by
many scientists and psychologists. The discoveries made throughout the years have shown
diverse facts, for example, the human brain has a storage capacity of about 2.5pent bytes
(Reber). In this paper, it will be showed not only the discoveries of memory, but how it is formed
and how it works. As we go deeper, we will discover the science behind memory.
As mentioned before, memory passes through tree basic processes that are encoding, storage and
retrieval. Encoding refers to the process of transforming information into a format code that can be
understandable for the memory system. After the information is encoded, the information is
storage. Storage is the process of retaining the encoded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chadha, a Kenya born British film maker who grew up India. Director Chadha s films often reflect
on her complex background. Unlike many comedies, Bend it Like Beckham is filled with plenty of
important themes. One of them addresses the importance of cultural integration.
Jesminder Bhamra, like the director, is British Asian. Just like Director Chadha had refused to take
traditional Punjabi dancing lessons and watch Bollywood films as a child, Jesminder

nonchalant facial expression. The scene indicates that Jess knows the expectation of her to follow

In 1969, the Supreme Court of the United States (U.S. Supreme Court) put forth rules allowing
the burning of the flag to be protected under the First Amendment. The U. S. Supreme Court
first ruled on flag discretion in 1907 in the Halter v. Nebraska case. Prior to this ruling flag
discretion statues strictly prohibited the burning of the American flag , as well as, disrespecting
the flag in any way shape or form. In 1968, Congress reacted to the burning of the American flag
in New York during a protest against the Vietnam War by passing the Federal Flag Desecration
Law. In a few court cases it has been declared that burning the American flag is only illegal if the
flag has been stolen. When a flag is worn/torn the proper way of disposing of the flag is to burn
it; however, when disposing of a flag by burning it there are steps that should be followed in order
to do so honorably. The flag should be folded in its customary manner and then placed on a fire that
is fairly large with sufficient intensity to ensure complete burning of the flag. After placing the flag
on the fire all individuals should come to attention, salute the flag while reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance and observing a brief moment of silence. Once the flag has been completely consumed
the fire should be safely extinguished and the ashes should be buried. Congress has made seven
attempts to overrule the Supreme Court decision regarding the burning of the American flag by
passing a constitutional amendment that had an exception to the First Amendment and allowed the
government to ban flag desecration. (Thelawdictionary.org,

prisoner. This scene is an example of boxes within boxes because the prisoner is enclosed in a
cell and is being viewed from the exterior of the cell through a peephole. The prisoner is enclosed
in the cell, while the cell is enclosed in the police station. Mise en scГЁne is also present in this
scene, with the number five that is on the wall outside of the cell. It is not a coincidence that it
is act five of the film. Additionally, the walls near the jail cell are distorted. The wall angles look
similar to the shape of the peepholes as well. The boxes within boxes in this scene expresses
Francis paranoia and distorted reality. Francis was worried the prisoner had escaped and
attempted to murder Jane, but this was all inside his distorted reality. Francis distorted reality
may also be symbolized in the distorted walls as well. Lastly, Francis mind contains an example
of boxes within boxes because in his mind he sees Dr. Caligari as the mentally unstable one, but
in reality, it is him who is unstable. Furthermore, Francis mind is a box that is enclosed in
delirium, which is enclosed in another box, which is the actual reality. Mise en scГЁne can be

Analysis Of The Persistence Of Memory By Salvador Dali
Surrealism is a 20th century art and literature movement that pursued the creative potential of the
unconscious mind. Surrealism has been around for over a hundred years and the movement
consisted of many talented artists that are still relevant today. One of the most mysterious, yet
talented, surrealist painters of the 20th century was Salvador Dali. He was known for his bizarre
paintings during his time as an artist. Dali s most famous work of art was created in 1931 and

The hidden meaning of color is an essential element of art. Simple principals involving color can
be applied to art and cause an impact on how a viewer sees it. Color has been used to evoke
certain emotions or create a specific message in art for centuries. Different colors convey
different moods; cool colors can bring the mind a calming effect while warm colors can bring
the mind a feeling of happiness. Dali used color as a tool in all of his art to either artistically
show his emotions or allow his viewers to feel a specific mood. In the painting The Persistence
of Memory, Dali used a faint light blue color and a pale yellow to create the horizon of the
painting. While painting this horizon, Dali s target was to convey a calm yet joyful mood. The
yellow undertones represent light. It creates a feeling of hope and happiness in the painting. The
light hearted feeling the color gives off resembles the feeling of optimism and mellowness one
feels within a pleasant dream. While dreaming, colors subconsciously having a meaning behind
them. The faint yellow and blue colors in the painting seem unreal as they blend with the ground,
but they give the viewer, or the dreamer, a feeling of comfort. Dark and light have always
represented two differing forces of nature, whether it is moral and unmoral, happiness and despair,
or love and hate. Light is an energy that

hit the ground running and have a better chance than liberal arts students in acquiring a job. Bok
mentions a downfall about vocational programs in which vocational focuses so much on the skills
students don t learn the essential traditional skills of college. Bok then continues on to give the
liberal arts side of his perspective, in which he states, The most important step that Arts and
Sciences faculties can take is simply to do a better job of achieving the traditional goals of liberal
education (Derek Bok, 42). Bok believes the advantage of liberal arts is the key fact that students
learn the abilities vocational students don t such as communication, critical thinking, problem
solving, self discipline, creativity, and human relation skills. The two disadvantages Bok
mentions is that liberal arts students will have a more difficult time acquiring a job during the
first ten years of work compared to vocational students and liberal arts professors disregard the
need to teach skills that will be learned on the job. Bok has a neutral point

Compare And Contrast Annie Dillard And Virginia Woolf
Despite any futile resistance, each living creature eventually succumbs to the forces of death.
Ultimately, death is a part of living. Death is inevitable. Likewise, although a diminutive moth may
appear to be insignificant and pathetic, it can symbolize the true connections between the duality of
life and deathand human beings. For instance, Annie Dillard and Virginia Woolf
illustrate similar,
universal messages about the value of life through the metaphor of a moth. However, the manner in
which they portray their themes and purpose varies, for their personal experiences and writing
styles influence their perspectives of life and death.
Unlike Annie Dillard, Virginia Woolf was an essayist during the turbulence of the early twentieth
century, where she witnessed the atrocities of both world wars and the lack of women in the
intellectual realm. Ultimately, Woolf decided to end her own life by drowning herself. Therefore,

less connected ideas. Likewise, the vocabulary of Dillard s work is not as advanced, whereas
Woolf would include complex diction to create a more formal tone. Furthermore, the tone of both
writers provides different emotional senses to take away from the piece. For instance, Woolf
concludes her essay by stating that death is stronger than her, whereas Dillard writes of her lively
conversations with fellow writers. While Woolf effectively shares a much darker and emotional
attitude, focusing on the power of death, both voices help impart the author s true meaning and

The Princess Bride Film Analysis
It is remarkably difficult to narrow down a favorite movie because I have a few, however the
one film that I have already watched numerous times and still plan on watching many more
would have to be The Princess Bride. It is a story based on the book by S. Morgenstern s classic
tale of true love and high adventure abridged with the good parts version by William Goldman
who later translated it to screenplay. The book was actually written as a nonexistent political satire,
however this story is also infused with excerpts from Goldman s fictional life. The filmpreserves
this unique structure to tell a story within a story by using the actors Peter Faulk and Fred Savage

acting technique, cinematography, narrativestructure, the potential for societal impact, style, genre,
and sound to reveal a satire of the common fairy tale, while simultaneously becoming one of the
most cherished movies for over thirty years.

The Latest Plague
In the Victorian Age occurred the revival of religion following the moral principles of the Bible.

period of belief in God and Bibleended very soon, because of the different publications regarding
the natural elements and the genesis thru science.
The poem The Latest Decalogue is a satire addressed to the society of the Victorian age, who

then, they wanted to be in the spotlight with all they did.
The ending offers a perspective about towards what our love should be transmitted. The poet
implies that we should always love God, as he is our master, who keeps an eye on us, seeing what
we are doing and what kind of persons are we, in order that He will know if he will prepare a place

Leonardo The Artist, By Maria Vittoria Brugnoli And The...
I have currently finished reading the book Leonardo The Artist. The book is made up by three
of Da Vinci s scholars. One part of the book entitled The Painter is by Anna Maria Brizio, the
other part is The Sculptor which is interpreted by Maria Vittoria Brugnoli and the last section is
The Teacher by AndrГ© Chastel. The book is comprised of Da Vinci s notebooks with sketches
and comments on his work in progress; all of which was rediscovered in 1965. The general
purpose for this book is to show Da Vinci s ideology surrounding art and intellectual findings that
contributed to his talent. Leonardo Da Vinciwas more than just a painter. He was also considered a
sculptor and a teacher. He found interest in mathematic, science and nature. This book reveals
how boundless Da Vinci s curiosity was. Da Vinci trained as a painter in the studio of Andrea
Verrocchio. He devoted long hours to the study of nature even on holy days. Da Vinci explored
every branch of science known at his time and proved to many that he was far ahead of his time.
This is exemplified in his precise observations and the value he placed on empirical truth. Da Vinci
states, No human investigation can be called true science without going through mathematical
tests... (page 16) This basically refers to the scientific method.

Their use caused them to be indispensable, and their presence desired along with Greek imports.
We can form an idea of the main differences between Greek and Etruscan vases. Greek images are
used for their narrative qualities and symbolism; the erotic pleasures of mortal life and a prospect of
eternal feasting in the afterlife. Etruscan paintings conveyed a clear sense of an exuberant
enjoyment of life, with dancing couples and other human characters looking strong, healthy and
filled with life. The art captured human emotion much better than the more stylized Greek art.
During the 4th and 5th centuries BCE, Greek fleets began to plunder the coastal cities, the Gaul s
overtook the Po Valley, and without unity among the citizens, the Etruscans were overwhelmed.
Extensive sculpture and artwork were destroyed when around 396 BCE, Etruscans were overcome

culture survived independently, they created amphora that was magnificent in style, in my opinion,
and vital in its use. The symmetry of the handles suggests the stability of the symmetrical piece.
While gazing at the item, I realized that this ancient and delicate artifact is in remarkable condition.
To imagine all of the individuals that utilized the amphora in some way, and its travels throughout
its life during the last 2500 years, is a journey I will never fully

The Major Classical Theorists Influenced The Economics Of...
Three major classical theorists have attempted to interpret why societies change. They are Adam
Smith, Max Weber, and Karl Marx (Franks, 35). These three have inspired a lot of people down the
years. Adam Smith is known as the theoretical father of modern economics. In 1776, Smith argued
that the invisible hand of the market would change the economics of a nation and it would make
the nation better. In his invisible hand theory, he states that if one person strived to achieve success,
then the person would simultaneously benefit people around him. The prices and quality will be
determined by relationships between consumers and sellers through supply and demand (Franks,
34). In other words, the market will not be regulated by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The history of Marxism is controversial, and the ideas have influenced a lot of men and women to
address social issues. Karl Marx stated that the occurrence of capitalism brought humanity a
necessary step closer to socialism and the conquest of human inequality (Frank, 30). This is an
inevitable part of the development of human society.
According to scholar Mario Barrera, traditional Marxists thinks that a class is a group of people
who have a similar relationship in things that they use in their daily lives, such as food, houses,
and appliances (Franks, 30). Also, Marxists address that each society has its own particular class
structure. In addition, Marxists have defined three primary classes that currently exist in a capitalist
social system, and they can be found in the United States. The first group of classes consists of
capitalists, people who own and control an enormous proportion of productive property in the
United States. Having productive property means being able to produce products, such as
producing products that people demand. In this case, capitalists are wealthy because they hold an
overwhelming amount of productive property.
The second group of classes consists of workers, people who have cars, computers. cell phones,
and homes, but they own little of productive property. The reason is that most of their income
comes from their wages, salaries, and tips. They do not own company themselves. The third group
of classes compose by the bourgeoisie, who

A Statistical Physics Model ( Or Soal )
A Statistical Physics Model ( or SOAL Stochastically Oriented Asymmetric Localization) for Axon
Outgrowth Patterning Normally, at the leading edge, the molecular mechanism produces axon
outgrowth activity and moves plasma membrane extension of HSN cell body in the ventral
direction (Adler et al., 2006). However, in mutants, the different directions of axonoutgrowth from
the HSN cell body scored to create a probability distribution for axon outgrowth activity directions,
diffusion and displacement (Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Therefore, the axon outgrowth pattering
is altering. Previous study reported that the extracellular guidance cues, including UNC 6/Netrin
and its receptor have role in determining the axon outgrowth... Show more content on

Using the probability distribution, we compared the probabilities in wild type and mutants. For
example, UNC 6/Netrin extracellular guidance cues can decreases or increase the probability of
UNC 40 activity at each side of the neuron. Thus, this probability is directed as a stochastic
process. In more evidence, the probability of axon outgrowth activity in ventral direction is
decreased, whereas the probability of axon outgrowth in other directions is increased in mutants
(Xu et al., 2009; Kulkarni et al, 2013; Yang et al., 2014; Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Therefore, the
guidance cues control the direction of movement fluctuates over time. We report that this
probabilities can cause different regions of the neurons plasma membrane to move in different
directions. Thus the axon outgrowth extension morphology is abnormal and cause new axon
outgrowth patterning. Genetic evidence indicates that UNC 40/DCC, a central regulator of
polarization in multicellular animals (Ziel and Sherwood, 2010), mediates several signals that
regulates the polarization and orientation in response to UNC 6/Netrin. UNC 40::GFP clusters
randomly along the cell surface in response to polarization signal whereas the orientation signal
causes the UNC 40::GFP cluster toward specific direction (Xu et al., 2009; Kulkarni et al., 2013;
Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Consisting with a random walk, we hypothesize that random walk

Dreamland Analysis
Dreamland Discussion Two The second reading of Dreamland continued telling the story of the
heroin drug dealer, Enrique and brought the Oxycontin epidemic in the United States to the
forefront.
As I read about the journal that Porter and Jick wrote in the New England Journal of Medicine, I
was shocked and appalled that no one in the medical community disputed the claim that the level of
addiction in these opioids was low. I find it hard to believe that no one in the medical community
stepped up and opposed these irresponsible claims. As I continued to read about Enrique, my
conflicted feelings about him continued to grow. I felt this way because everything he was doing
was to help his family, however it is so hard to overlook how many people s

The English Street Artist Banksy
The English street artist Banksy has produced various works of art, in a revolutionary style.
Street art is visual and it is produced in public areas on buildings, bridges , concrete , and many
other places. This form of art is usually done illegally, which adds to the immense controversy it
already possesses, due to its subject matter. With that being said, it speaks volumes about artists
such as Banksy, who risk criminal charges of vandalism, in order to empower others through his art.
One of his popular pieces, Looters , historically commemorated the third anniversary of Hurricane
Katrinain New Orleans, boldly criticizing government, media, racism and other significant issues.
In 2005, the city became a war zone and many were left with questions; the image poetically
raised awareness to aspects of post Katrina recovery that are still being discussed till this day. For
the short time it existed as an untampered image on Elysian Fields Avenue, it managed to create a
lasting impression that will exist decades after its removal.
Due to Banksy s pictorial and satirical messages which blend themes of Capitalism, politics, greed,
and hypocrisy, an unknown identity is a great thing to have. In the early 1990s, Banksy began his
distinguished career; the fact that his identity has been successfully hidden for two decades
incorporates mystery into the art. He is undoubtedly the most controversial street artist to emerge on
the global stage, Banksy s work has been rumored to

Military Health Research Paper
In the financial part of military health care, things can get a little frustrating. Military health care
now is one of the best health cares you can have not, but in the past it has had its flaws. The health
care now has a really good strength, good insurance/doctors, and it is not too bad for having to

The Values Of Parenting And Child Discipline
Parenting and Child Discipline
For many years, discipline was and still is a grey line. By 2000, Studies were showing major
associations between physical punishment and mental health, physical injury, parent child
relationships and family violence in adulthood. This led many countries to take action against
violent punishments. Therefore, countries banned domestic violence after they decided that gentle
discipline is the best method to raise a kid. On the other hand, many parents are reluctant to leave
their physical ways of discipline. These techniques come from cultural, and religious beliefs that
have been rooted in the parents. The parents continue to use violence as a way to discipline their
kids, claiming that it is more efficient than gentle and soft methods of discipline.
To determine the weight of each side s argument, This issue must be passed through the laws of
ethics and morality. Ignoring the risks of violence that parenting can lead to, this method in the
viewpoint of many is considered to be more efficient and has faster results. Physical punishments
are deemed to be a firm way to show kids that they re disobediences are not tolerated. This is
believed to satisfy the parents desire for power by rooting a sense fear of the parents authority
within the children. In many religions such as Islam hitting a child is acceptable within limits.
These limits protect the child s physical and mental safety, yet are still effective to teach the child a

Hallucination In Macbeth
Shakespeare s classic play Macbeth has been presented to various audiences in a various amount of
ways. Plot may be changed minutely, setting could vary, and different themes could predominate. In
Great Performances: Macbeth , Rupert Goold the director presents the original Macbeth in a unique
yet accurate way. Goold instills his own directorial taste in this production, while maintaining
Shakespeare s playwright intentions throughout the story through setting, mood, and
characterization.
In Macbeth, and like in any other story, there is conflict within the roots of the story. In this case,
Macbeth is is fighting a physiological battle with himself. This film accurately conveys this battle
that Macbeth is having with himself quite vividly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps the predominant scene where hallucinations are present is in Act III Scene IV where the
ghost is present to the point where Macbeth thinks that Banquo is standing right in front of him
after Macbeth had just had Banquo executed on orders, Avaunt! and quit my sight! let the earth
hide thee! / Thy bones are marrowless, thy blood is cold; / Thou hast no speculation in those eyes
/ Which thou dost glare with! (Act III Scene IV Lines 92 95). One might think that Rupert Goold
would not incorporate this type of scene into his modernized version, but he realizes the importance
of the theme of Hallucination and instills this scene into his movie which becomes known as one
of the most well known scenes to come out of that movie. The fact that Rupert Goold kept this
important theme to his version, shows the importance of every single one of Shakespeare s themes
that he intended to come out of Macbeth. Each one of the main themes that come out of Macbeth
were picked out for a reason and Rupert Goold understands the importance of these themes

Personal Statement For Pediatrics
Pediatrics is my career passion. My life ambition is to become a remarkable and respected
physician.
I was born in the small farming community of Rose Hall, in my home country St. Vincent and the
Grenadines. I was a middle child, an avid reader and self motivated. My early upbringing was in
a village where everybody knew one another and cultivated genuine community spirit. At the age
of eleven, I relocated to our capital, Kingstown, to attend one of the top high schools in my
country. Consequently, I spent most of each year away from my family. Despite this sudden
change and the uncertainties that shadowed it, I was blessed with various life impacting
opportunities that I would not have gained in a school in my rural district. After high school, I
was the first in my family to enter and complete college. From there, I served as a teacher for a few
years, during this time I developed a good sense of responsibility and strong work ethics. A few
years later, I successfully completed medical school and became a first generation physician in my
family.
The experiences I gained from my basic science training in medical school, my clerkship rotations
in the United States and as a practicing physician in St. Vincent, have all contributed to molding me
into the person I am today and more importantly the doctor I wish to become in the future. The ...

  • 2. The Popularity Of British Football British football is definitely one of the most hit sports in the world. Besides, the highly competitive structures of football competitions in Britain, including promotions, inter club transfers and ownership transfers has allowed its fan base around the world to keep growing. Its charm has attracted not only football followers around the world, but also the local and international buyers. More importantly, English football clubs are still very good in making money out of the game. According to a report from Deloitte s sports business group, English football clubs have earned combined revenue of 2.98 billion Euros (Choudhury, 2016). The popularity of British Football clubs is very large, as well as the whole football culture in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the year 1871, 50 clubs had become the members of the football association. In 1872, the first football competition in the world was initiated as FA Cup. In the same year, Great Britain made it first international football match between England and Scotland. By the year 1888, the first league championship was on the move. The rapid rise of organised football gave a start to the development of professionalism and speculation in the sport. The popularity of the sport also influenced its spread outside the country; therefore other European countries also started forming their football associations. This ultimately led to the consistent development of international football community (FIFA.com, 2016). Opposite to the fact that England has been historically dominant in football, the England national football team has won the World Cup only once in 1966. Also, in terms of national football team, the United Kingdom is not represented as one team. Instead, all the countries in the UK England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales have their own football teams (Bloomsbury international.com, 2014). Despite the failure of the national team of the home country of football, Britain has generated one of the most dominated and the most unpredictable football leagues, English Premier League, and many of the best football clubs not only in the entire Europe but also in the world. • 3. Acute Consumption Of Cannabis And Driving Performance According to the textbook, Understanding the research game begins with an identification of the institution supporting the research through funding and hiring researchers as well as granting permission for the research (Wilkins, 2011). The institution preforming and supporting this research is called BMJ. BMJ is a pair reviewed medical research journal aimed at providing first class information concerning issues. In addition, the BMJ assists medical organizations and clinicians in tacking today s most critical healthcare challenges. ( Our expertise | BMJ , 2016) As stated in the textbook, The purpose of the research concerns the motivation of the researchers given institutional parameters as well as the research topic applied . (Wilkins, 2011). That being said, the purpose of this study is to determine whether the acute consumption of cannabis(cannabinoids) by drivers increases the risk of a motor vehicle collision. Hence, one can say that the explicit reason for this research is squared on the relationships between the acute consumption of cannabis and driving performance. On the contrary, the implicit purpose of the research is to reduce the number of vehicle collisions caused my acute consumption of cannabis (marijuana). • 4. Dream In The American Dream The American Dream, has stereotypically branded a permanent mental image of a successful and stunning married couple standing in front of their perfect white picket fence, 1.5 children, and in the back ground is their classic, cookie cutter, utopian house. However, this idea has wrongly become the standard model to living a successful life. This American Dreamnow excludes a large, diverse group of people; the poor and the immigrants who have given everything to migrate and relocate only to have their dreams become farther away from reality. This harsh, and rather unrealistic, utopian mental picture does not accurately show the dreams of all people, and is only merely a dreamsociety has portrayed. Millennials especially, have taken note and are reacting with very different mindsets than the generations that have come before them. The millennials desire more and are attempting to make a change. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to understand. Dreams have strange concepts that some people do not fully comprehend, especially ones that seem out of range. However, fantasy is an essential component in surviving. Dreams and goals differ, yet are constantly mixed up, confused and misused. The terms are unique in their own ways, have very distinct aspects but somehow still become intertwined. People s modern goals typically include graduating school, getting a degree, obtaining a job and becoming successful enough to have a decent paycheck that supports all the basic ... • 5. Culture Of Solidarity In this article Building a Culture of Solidarity: Racial Discourse, Black Lives Matter, and Indigenous Social Justice by Santos F. Ramos, a non Black Xicano academic engages in a movement like Black Lives Matter(BLM) to help both Latino and Black communities for social justice, to show his solidarity, and to battle anti blackness in his own community before everywhere else. Ramos puts himself as an example to his people and points out issues throughout the article that need to be addressed in order to build a cross culture solidarity among communities of color.

First, Ramos mentioned the spread of BLM which impacted all people of color and showed racismespecially upon Black communities. Ramos seeks to get people to understand that in order to face the violence done by the cops, we have to acknowledge our similarities, our differences, and our oppressions to approach... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the hashtag of BLM has started on twitter and attracted big audience, people started to use it for their own causes and change to hashtags like #LatinoLivesMatter , #NativeLivesMatter for media attention. Ramos is arguing that this change from Black lives to our lives is taking away from BLM and erasing the origins and all the work that has been done to make this movement. All the similar tags that were on social media with intentions of being in solidarity with Black communities didn t really help the need of non Black people to consider the anti Blackness in their neighborhoods. For us to be in solidarity with BLM means that we need to seriously and actively interrogate the anti Blackness we find within our own Latino communities .

Ramos discussed the concept of race within different cultural frameworks. The dichotomy of Black and White he showed in the article, was necessary to show the base of the struggles. To be sure, it is necessary to understand how people of color are oppressed in a hierarchical manner, with some groups being granted more rights and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Value Of Loan Payment Essay Annuity Due an annuity due in which all the cash flow occurs at the beginning of each period ( Titman et al, 2014,p. 167). Annuity dues are payment such as apartment rent payment at the beginning of the period. The outstanding of the loan information is helpful beyond the professional front. The outstanding interestrate can be calculated by using the same formula as a present value with a slight variation. The present outstanding value of the loan = PMT [1 1/ (1+ annual rate of interest/m) ^number of years *m / annual rate of interest/m]. Here, m is a number of times compounding occurred in the year. Note The book Financial management suggests the balance amount of loan one owes must be equal to the present value of the remaining loan payment (Titman et all, 2014). The information regarding the calculation of loan and outstanding loan gave us a fair idea about how the loan financing occur. Another important aspect learned is how the principle and interest affect the amount of any loan. This knowledge also brought other factors into consideration such as refinancing mortgage loancost. The refinancing cost involves distinct hidden costs such as appraisal fee, legal fee, origination fee, and application. Hence, if one plan to refinance the loan by getting attracted to lower interest rate. The refinance must put some extra moneyaside to pay the refinancing cost. Future Value of Annuity payment due PMT [(1+ i) ^n 1 / i] (1+ i). Discounting annuity due ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The traditional customers of the Orchestra have been the older and more affluent segment of the population that live in the suburbs. The Enlightenment And The Scientific Revolution Inspired by the Renaissance, Humanism and Individualism, the Scientific Revolution, John Locke, and the Age of Discovery, and Religious Wars, the Enlightenment in Europe sparked a movement of change and progress. During the Enlightenment, humans were focused on improving their lives and letting go of or expanding on ancient texts that had set the previous standards. The Scientific Revolution was one event that provided a sturdy foundation to the Enlightenment by having solid evidence of things in the world being contrary to what everyone had thought for years. Without those values, there would have been no Enlightenment. The main values of the Enlightenment, nature, reason, and progress, can be seen slightly in some events predating the Enlightenment. The Scientific Revolution was the great cornerstone to build further ideas upon. People like Galileo and Newton carved out the groundwork for the Enlightenment. • 12. The Dynamic Character In Carver s Cathedral By Raymond Carver In the short story Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the narrator is a dynamic character because of the way his thoughts adjust throughout the entirety of the story. The beginning of the story shows the narrator only being able to see physical things with his eyes. By the end, the narrator sees a different perspective through his imagination. Robert, the blind man that visits the narrator and his wife, brings out the imagination from within the narrator. The narrator is a dynamic character because he changes his judgment of Robert from a more prejudice view to a more acceptable one. The beginning of the story presents the narrator s wife working for a blind man one summer by reading, stuff to him, case studies, reports, that sort of thing (Carver, 34). She eventually extends an invitation for the blind man, Robert, to stay at their house after Robert s wife had passed away. The narrator was not too happy about having a stranger stay in his home by stating, I wasn t enthusiastic about his visit. He was no one I knew. And his being blind bothered me. My idea of blindnesscame from the movies. In the movies, the blind moved slowly and never laughed (Carver, 34). The narrator seems very timid about someone he had never met stay at his house who can see purely nothing. This gives off an impression that the narrator doesn t want to have Robert stay with him because he will be a hassle to keep up with since blind people in the movies progress, slowly and never ... • 13. Theme Of Water In The Aeneid The Aeneid presents various themes throughout the course of Aeneas s journeys, but I noticed that particularly in Books I and VI the theme of water is very prevalent and important. First we see when Aeolus stirs up the storm, water causes so much destruction and it is completely out of Aeneas s control. Then as he is crossing over to the underworld, Aeneasencounters Charon and the river of Styx, where the whirlpool is murky, unknown, and dangerous. Overall, water is depicted as a dangerous uncertainty in Aeneas s world. It is extremely powerful and has the potential to do so much damage, however it can also be still and murky. Vergil uses imagery and descriptive diction to enhance the theme of water as perilous and unknown throughout The Aeneid. The theme of water is prevalent from the opening lines of the Aeneid book 1, however it is best expressed through lines 81 130 where we see Aeolus stir up a storm against Aeneas s ships. This idea that the water is unknown, dangerous, and out of people s control is particularly evident throughout this excerpt. • 14. An Analysis of Sacrifice in Arthur Miller s All My Sons In All My Sons sacrifice plays a crucial role in almost every part of the play. Miller explores the impact of sacrifices made for one s family versus humanity as a whole, explicitly the direction and intention of a sacrifice. As part of this essay, I will identify and explain what I consider to be the most important in the play. The second aspect of sacrificein All My Sonswhich I will examine in this essay involves the idea that not all sacrifices are actually conscious decisions; many of the acts of sacrifice in the play could be explained simply by an escape does Joe Keller kill himself as a final realisation of the crimes that he has committed or just as an escape from the pressure around him? When we first encounter the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the concept of a fine hairline crack could also be grafted onto Keller as a person: he has a serious and life threatening flaw which is only revealed after close inspection. In a sense, throughout the play Miller is also suggesting that just as an individual can thoroughly disrupt a family, so can an individual completely eviscerate a society linking back to the idea of a small crack and its massive outcome. Just as Joe Keller s denials lead to his family being torn apart, so Miller is implying that the same is true on a much larger humanitarian scale. As well as sacrificing morality, it is clear that towards the climax of the play, Joe sacrifices responsibility in order to preserve himself. On page 55 George is having an argument with Chris, Joe Keller s son when he says: And he s the kind of boss to let a hundred and twenty one cylinder heads be repaired and shipped out of his shop without even knowing about it? This questioning towards Keller is interesting because it shows us that George thinks he is responsible and he even comes up with a diligent retort later on the same page which makes Joe seem like a responsible boss; even to the audience: The same Joe Keller who never left his shop without first going round to see that all the lights were out. This seemingly un arguable confirmation that Joe is a responsible person is torn apart when we witness George, in a very accusatory manner, shout at Ann: He simply told your father ... Yet, since the understudies are paying for the right to gain entrance, they get rights through the exchange. Case in point, the vast majority would concur that the college would not be permitted to preclude understudies from connecting to a site which condemned the college. Psych Research Paper Psych 100 Term Paper Psychological factors can be related to many different problems, one problem that had personally affected me was the grades I got my freshman year of college. I started my college career struggling a little bit and often wondered how I could raise my grades and improve my GPA until I was satisfied with the grades I would get. Coming to college I was finally on my own with no one to wake me up, make me do homework, or go to class. I procrastinate because I tend to think I am smart and can get it done and in a short period of time without much work and research done before. This led to me handing in subpar papers or assignments therefore bringing my GPA to an unacceptably low level for what I expected out of myself. Another thing I could relate the procrastination to is a lack of motivation. In high school I didn t have to do much studying or spend time writing long papers or doing assignments. So when I came to college I thought it would be the same way and I quickly learned that the college work load is much different and more intense than a high school work load. This was a major factor in my GPA being where it was. I was not extremely motivated to be taking all the general education classes I was enrolled in and therefore did not invest the time that I should have. Having a good GPA is not a primary instinct like hunger or thirst, it is taught to you that you should strive to have a good GPA. Hunger, thirst, sleep, and sex are all primary drives of motivation and are all biological needs. A reason why I think I was not satisfied with my grades is because I was doing it for an extrinsic purpose, the grade. When a flag is worn/torn the proper way of disposing of the flag is to burn it; however, when disposing of a flag by burning it there are steps that should be followed in order to do so honorably. The flag should be folded in its customary manner and then placed on a fire that is fairly large with sufficient intensity to ensure complete burning of the flag. After placing the flag on the fire all individuals should come to attention, salute the flag while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and observing a brief moment of silence. Once the flag has been completely consumed the fire should be safely extinguished and the ashes should be buried. One part of the book entitled The Painter is by Anna Maria Brizio, the other part is The Sculptor which is interpreted by Maria Vittoria Brugnoli and the last section is The Teacher by AndrГ© Chastel. The book is comprised of Da Vinci s notebooks with sketches and comments on his work in progress; all of which was rediscovered in 1965. The general purpose for this book is to show Da Vinci s ideology surrounding art and intellectual findings that contributed to his talent. Leonardo Da Vinciwas more than just a painter. He was also considered a sculptor and a teacher. He found interest in mathematic, science and nature. This book reveals how boundless Da Vinci s curiosity was. Da Vinci trained as a painter in the studio of Andrea Verrocchio. He devoted long hours to the study of nature even on holy days. Da Vinci explored every branch of science known at his time and proved to many that he was far ahead of his time. This is exemplified in his precise observations and the value he placed on empirical truth. Da Vinci states, No human investigation can be called true science without going through mathematical tests... (page 16) This basically refers to the scientific method. In sketch after sketch, his notebooks cite his preoccupation with architecture both as an artistic expression and as a technical problem. In his painting of the town plan of ... But like it or not you will only become more weak by not admitting it, We need to understand how we deal with emotional stress because If we don t understand how we deal with stress we can end up falling apart, hurting not only ourselves but the people around us as well, The intensity of how much stressan event can put on a person is relative to their personal situation, and The way in which we deal with stressvaries from person to person for better or worse so understanding it helps us understand others and help them with their problems as well as understand the reason for our own feelings. If someone is struggle to afford food on a daily basis, they will not be concerned with the latest and greatest technology. In the Yellow birds Bartle says We only pay attention to the rare things, and death was not rare. To some seeing a dead body of the enemy would upset them, but to Bartle and Murphy it was just another person who could not kill them. In The first Saturday of May, when Eric reacts to his dog dying, he acts much like Bartle does after Murph dies, going into a unresponsive apathetic state, shown by the line Eric would have gone on to talk about the friends along that road. He seemed for a moment as if he was going to, but then he couldn t be bothered . One might say that Murphs death is a much more significant event (in terms of emotional pressure) but Eric s dog to Eric was what Murph was to Bartle, both of them lost a friend. If we examine the text Search for my Tongue by Sujata Bhatt we also see a character under emotional stress we initially see a lot of doubt about what will happen in the future, and as she slowy convinces herself that she is going to lose a part of her cultural identity (due to her moving away from her home country) very visceral language such as your mother tongue would rot, rot and die in your mouth. • 38. Terracotta Etruscan Vase Analysis I saw a terracotta Etruscan vase at the Walters Museum, on November 4, 2015. Created by Micali Painter, it stands 16Вѕ high and has a circumference of 10Вј, excavated between 500 490, BCE in Cerveteri, Italy. The museum provenance for the container states that it was purchased in 1902 by Henry Walters from the Don Marcello Massarenti Collection in Rome( Black Walters). A close look at the vase reveals unclothed, energetically running satyrs. Above them, birds face in the opposite direction, closer to the neck of the vessel. The wild satyrs with their powerful physique caught my imagination and attention. The amphora was created in the Archaic Period, historians use the term archaic, to suggest that a work is primitive, antiquated or old fashioned,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their use caused them to be indispensable, and their presence desired along with Greek imports. We can form an idea of the main differences between Greek and Etruscan vases. Greek images are used for their narrative qualities and symbolism; the erotic pleasures of mortal life and a prospect of eternal feasting in the afterlife. Etruscan paintings conveyed a clear sense of an exuberant enjoyment of life, with dancing couples and other human characters looking strong, healthy and filled with life. The art captured human emotion much better than the more stylized Greek art. During the 4th and 5th centuries BCE, Greek fleets began to plunder the coastal cities, the Gaul s overtook the Po Valley, and without unity among the citizens, the Etruscans were overwhelmed. Extensive sculpture and artwork were destroyed when around 396 BCE, Etruscans were overcome by the Romans and absorbed into the empire ( Etruscan Collins). The short time period when the culture survived independently, they created amphora that was magnificent in style, in my opinion, and vital in its use. The symmetry of the handles suggests the stability of the symmetrical piece. While gazing at the item, I realized that this ancient and delicate artifact is in remarkable condition. To imagine all of the individuals that utilized the amphora in some way, and its travels throughout its life during the last 2500 years, is a journey I will never fully ... • 39. The Major Classical Theorists Influenced The Economics Of... Three major classical theorists have attempted to interpret why societies change. They are Adam Smith, Max Weber, and Karl Marx (Franks, 35). These three have inspired a lot of people down the years. Adam Smith is known as the theoretical father of modern economics. In 1776, Smith argued that the invisible hand of the market would change the economics of a nation and it would make the nation better. In his invisible hand theory, he states that if one person strived to achieve success, then the person would simultaneously benefit people around him. The prices and quality will be determined by relationships between consumers and sellers through supply and demand (Franks, 34). In other words, the market will not be regulated by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The history of Marxism is controversial, and the ideas have influenced a lot of men and women to address social issues. Karl Marx stated that the occurrence of capitalism brought humanity a necessary step closer to socialism and the conquest of human inequality (Frank, 30). This is an inevitable part of the development of human society. According to scholar Mario Barrera, traditional Marxists thinks that a class is a group of people who have a similar relationship in things that they use in their daily lives, such as food, houses, and appliances (Franks, 30). Also, Marxists address that each society has its own particular class structure. In addition, Marxists have defined three primary classes that currently exist in a capitalist social system, and they can be found in the United States. The first group of classes consists of capitalists, people who own and control an enormous proportion of productive property in the United States. Having productive property means being able to produce products, such as producing products that people demand. In this case, capitalists are wealthy because they hold an overwhelming amount of productive property. The second group of classes consists of workers, people who have cars, computers. cell phones, and homes, but they own little of productive property. The reason is that most of their income comes from their wages, salaries, and tips. They do not own company themselves. The third group of classes compose by the bourgeoisie, who ... • 40. A Statistical Physics Model ( Or Soal ) A Statistical Physics Model ( or SOAL Stochastically Oriented Asymmetric Localization) for Axon Outgrowth Patterning Normally, at the leading edge, the molecular mechanism produces axon outgrowth activity and moves plasma membrane extension of HSN cell body in the ventral direction (Adler et al., 2006). However, in mutants, the different directions of axonoutgrowth from the HSN cell body scored to create a probability distribution for axon outgrowth activity directions, diffusion and displacement (Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Therefore, the axon outgrowth pattering is altering. Previous study reported that the extracellular guidance cues, including UNC 6/Netrin and its receptor have role in determining the axon outgrowth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the probability distribution, we compared the probabilities in wild type and mutants. For example, UNC 6/Netrin extracellular guidance cues can decreases or increase the probability of UNC 40 activity at each side of the neuron. Thus, this probability is directed as a stochastic process. In more evidence, the probability of axon outgrowth activity in ventral direction is decreased, whereas the probability of axon outgrowth in other directions is increased in mutants (Xu et al., 2009; Kulkarni et al, 2013; Yang et al., 2014; Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Therefore, the guidance cues control the direction of movement fluctuates over time. We report that this probabilities can cause different regions of the neurons plasma membrane to move in different directions. Thus the axon outgrowth extension morphology is abnormal and cause new axon outgrowth patterning. Genetic evidence indicates that UNC 40/DCC, a central regulator of polarization in multicellular animals (Ziel and Sherwood, 2010), mediates several signals that regulates the polarization and orientation in response to UNC 6/Netrin. UNC 40::GFP clusters randomly along the cell surface in response to polarization signal whereas the orientation signal causes the UNC 40::GFP cluster toward specific direction (Xu et al., 2009; Kulkarni et al., 2013; Tang and Wadsworth, 2014). Street art is visual and it is produced in public areas on buildings, bridges , concrete , and many other places. This form of art is usually done illegally, which adds to the immense controversy it already possesses, due to its subject matter. With that being said, it speaks volumes about artists such as Banksy, who risk criminal charges of vandalism, in order to empower others through his art. One of his popular pieces, Looters , historically commemorated the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrinain New Orleans, boldly criticizing government, media, racism and other significant issues. In 2005, the city became a war zone and many were left with questions; the image poetically raised awareness to aspects of post Katrina recovery that are still being discussed till this day. For the short time it existed as an untampered image on Elysian Fields Avenue, it managed to create a lasting impression that will exist decades after its removal. Due to Banksy s pictorial and satirical messages which blend themes of Capitalism, politics, greed, and hypocrisy, an unknown identity is a great thing to have. In the early 1990s, Banksy began his distinguished career; the fact that his identity has been successfully hidden for two decades incorporates mystery into the art. He is undoubtedly the most controversial street artist to emerge on the global stage, Banksy s work has been rumored to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Values Of Parenting And Child Discipline Parenting and Child Discipline For many years, discipline was and still is a grey line. By 2000, Studies were showing major associations between physical punishment and mental health, physical injury, parent child relationships and family violence in adulthood. This led many countries to take action against violent punishments. Therefore, countries banned domestic violence after they decided that gentle discipline is the best method to raise a kid. On the other hand, many parents are reluctant to leave their physical ways of discipline. These techniques come from cultural, and religious beliefs that have been rooted in the parents. The parents continue to use violence as a way to discipline their kids, claiming that it is more efficient than gentle and soft methods of discipline. To determine the weight of each side s argument, This issue must be passed through the laws of ethics and morality. Ignoring the risks of violence that parenting can lead to, this method in the viewpoint of many is considered to be more efficient and has faster results. Physical punishments are deemed to be a firm way to show kids that they re disobediences are not tolerated. This is believed to satisfy the parents desire for power by rooting a sense fear of the parents authority within the children. In many religions such as Islam hitting a child is acceptable within limits. I was born in the small farming community of Rose Hall, in my home country St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I was a middle child, an avid reader and self motivated. My early upbringing was in a village where everybody knew one another and cultivated genuine community spirit. At the age of eleven, I relocated to our capital, Kingstown, to attend one of the top high schools in my country. Consequently, I spent most of each year away from my family. Despite this sudden change and the uncertainties that shadowed it, I was blessed with various life impacting opportunities that I would not have gained in a school in my rural district. After high school, I was the first in my family to enter and complete college. From there, I served as a teacher for a few years, during this time I developed a good sense of responsibility and strong work ethics. A few years later, I successfully completed medical school and became a first generation physician in my family.
