United States Vs South Korea Essay
A democratic country is the country governed directly or indirectly by people who have their
sovereignty, so it has the laws to protect citizens rights. Most countries in the world adopt democracy,
and so do United States and South Korea. However, it doesn t mean that not both countries laws are
same. There are some similar and different points between United States and South Korea in their
laws to protect individual rights. There are five similar points in their laws. First of all, the First
Amendment and the Article 21 of Korean Constitution are about freedom of speech, press, religion,
and so on. Secondly, the Fourth Amendment and the Article 12 and 13 of Korean Constitution are
about protection from unreasonable search and arrest. Thirdly, ... Show more content on

Firstly, the Second Amendment is about right for having arms and army. However, there is no Article
in Korean Constitution about it and it is illegal. Secondly, the Third Amendment is about protection
from quartering of army, but this also doesn t exist in Korean Constitution. Thirdly, the Seventh
Amendment is about civil trial by jury, and laws related to this point don t exist in Korea. However,
there is a noticeable point in Korea, which is called Civil Participation in Criminal Trials. It has been
enforced since 2008 and is same with United States in terms of having jury, but there are two crucial
differences. In Korea, jury can only participate in criminal cases and their verdicts have no legal
binding forces, just advisory effects. Fourthly, the Ninth Amendment is about protection of rights not
specified in the Bill of Rights, and Korea does not have laws involving this aspect naturally because
the Korean Government does not adopt the Bill of Rights. Lastly, the Tenth Amendment is about
powers of states and people, but this point is vague. The concept of powers of people can applied to
both United States and Korea, but the concept of powers of state can t because the Korean
Government does not have federal system. Therefore, in this essay, it is categorized as difference, but
some people can regard it as same

Ashes In John Clarke s The Grapes Of Wrath
Words that rhyme with Ashes such as smashes, crashes, trashes, and bashes are all negative. Ashe s
parents have been divorced for 2 years since she stole the money. Ashleigh only gets to see her dad
once a week and the rest of the time she s with her mom. Ashes dad is a dreamer and her mom is very
practical. Ashes stole the money because her dad was sweet to her, she loved him, and her mom was a
stick in the mud. Ashe s dad did many sweet things for her so she decided to steal the money. Ashe s
dad gave her roses or sang her a song which cheered her up. Ashleigh s dad would do nice things for
her because she was his daughter, but also because he wanted her to favor him. Ashes and her dad like
to treat themselves to nice dinners every once in awhile. Ashleigh s dad may not of been able to afford
it, but he took her to the restaurants because he wanted what s best for her. Ashes dad told her: You
have flair Ashes. (Pfeffer,2). Ashes dad loved to give compliments, especially to his daughter because

The Categories Of Stress In Everyday Life
Stress involves the psychological and physical reaction to the demands of everyday life. A small
amount of stress is good motivating an individual to perform well. Nevertheless, simple challenges in
the daily life have the possibility of pushing one s ability to cope. Categories of stress most relevant to
me According to the graph, the categories of stress most relevant to me are behavioral stress and
emotional stress respectively. According to the graph, behavioral stress has a rating of 4.0, and
emotional stress has a rating of 4.5. The aspect of behavioral stress focuses on how my thoughts as an
individual affect my emotions together with behaviors. It attempts to influence other people s
irrational thoughts. Emotional stress which has a very high rating is related to things which are very
common which include social life, financial life together with health changes. It is caused by changes
in moods as well as the death of loved ones. Any single negative change in normal life might lead to
emotional stress. Do you think cognitive stress has the most influence (or impact) on the other
categories (physical, behavioral, and emotional)? Why or why not? I think cognitive stress has the
most influence on the other categories. Cognitive stress focuses on the way individuals are affected by
thoughts together with emotions. Behavior also tends to play an important role in the general effects of
the cognitive behavior. Changes have been found to be common in the individuals who

Racism And Segregation In A Lesson Before Dying
The setting of a novel is important in highlighting the central theme of the story. Ernest J. Gaines
choice of setting for his novel A Lesson Before Dying emphasizes the story s central theme of racism
and segregation. Gaines setting choices of a small southern Louisiana town in the 1940s, Henri Pichot
s plantation house and the local courthouse/jail all help to emphasize the central theme of racism and
segregation in the novel A Lesson Before Dying. Gaines description of the Bayonne courthouse and
jail, which Grant must walk through on his visits to Jefferson give the reader a glimpse of the racism
and segregation the black community members face throughout the story. Grant s narrative of the

after all of those years Grant has never been further than the home s kitchen. We especially see Grant

Tante Lou and Miss Emma about the visit saying, The humiliation I had to go through, going into that
man s kitchen. The hours I had to wait while they ate and drank and socialized before they would even

emphasizes the central theme of racism as the white plantation owner attempts to keep the black man

I. Introduction:
Born in Alabama on January 7, 1891, Zora Neale Hurston is a celebrated African American author and
Harlem Renaissance figure who, studied anthropology and incorporated her research and themes of
racial heritage into her work. Of the distinctive features of Hurston s prose fiction, perhaps none is
more important than her extensive use of folkloric materials. With Hurston s works are often infused
with an array of sounds, songs, and stories of folk traditions, they reflect a compelling synthesis of
ethnological reality and lively characterization and setting. Among Hurston s over 50 works, Jonah s

Castles of the Welsh Princes and Gaelic Irish Lords Essay...
The high medieval Welsh princes and Gaelic Irish lords are comparable in several ways. Both had to
contend with the ever growing presence of the Anglo Normans and were able to maintain some form
of native rule throughout the period ( Gaelic lordly settlement 209). Furthermore, castles played a
significant role in the proceedings whether built or captured and whether they were of native origins
or Anglo Norman. This can be attributed to their capabilities of withstanding various scales of warfare
and being one of the means of displaying lordly rank ( Settlement and Society 97). However, the
functions, characteristics, and prevalence of castles are not necessarily uniform across the three
groups. Using the historical and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, the building styles of Welsh castles bear marked similarities to their Anglo Norman
counterparts. (Davis 7) This resemblance, a scarcity of historical records from the Welsh, and the
frequency with which the castles would change ownership make identifying sites built or occupied by
the native Welsh problematic (30). This is compounded by multiple construction phases that would
frequently, but not always, accompany changes in ownership and complicate the archaeological
evidence. For example, Denbigh Castle in Gwynedd was originally a native castle that housed
Llwelyn the Great and his grandson Dafydd ap Gruffudd, but its physical characteristics are lost to
history due to the only remains belonging to a later castle built by Earl Henry de Lacy in 1282 (Davis
52). The remains of Welsh earthwork castles are considered to be indistinguishable from Anglo
Norman. As a result, only 8.5% of the remaining castles accounted for in Wales, thirty six of the four
hundred and twenty seven, are attributed to the Welsh. However, this percentage is not thought to
reflect the totality of Welsh castles. (Chateau Gaillard 11)
The start of Welsh castle building correspondingly occurs after 1066. Welshpool in Powys is the first
castle recorded to have been built by the Welsh nobility. This would have presumably been
accomplished after Cadwgan ap Bleddyn took over the region in

The Enlightenment And Ideas Of The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment was a time of mathematical, scientific, and philosophical advancement. The
thoughts of philosophers like Voltaire, Montesquieu, and Locke inspired many, such as the Americans.
Their ideas about freedom of religion, civil liberties, free trade, and social reforms became the basis
that the Americans built their new country upon and impacted politics and culture. Due to the
advanced ideas that were emerging from Europe, religious views of the colonists started to alter.
Before enlightenment beliefs spread, the universally accepted theory was that human suffering was
inevitable. However, the new conjecture stated God set the universe in motion and gave humans the
power of reason to enable them to comprehend the orderly and complex

Portrayal of Ophelia in the two film versions of Hamlet
Hamlet is an acknowledging Shakespearean play that was later filmed in 1990 by Franco Zeffirelli and
in 1996 by Kenneth Branagh. Both these directors interpret the play differently adding unique twists
and turns of their own to help focus on one thing than the other. In their contrasting films, these two
directors depict the character of Ophelia very differently. Through Zeffirelli s film, Ophelia, played by
Helena Bonham Carter is portrayed as a dreamy, naive, childish character, however in Branagh s
version; Kate Winslet portrays Ophelia as a more mature, sensible and strong willed character. These
different portrayals of Ophelia can be further analyzed through cinematography, set and costume
designs and through the actor themselves. Firstly, the different interpretation of Ophelia is shown
through the cinematography of the two films. Cinematography refers to the camera movement and
angles. Zeffirelli chooses to make many of Ophelia s shots filmed from above, reinforcing Ophelia s
character small helpless and under control. Whereas in Branagh s most of the scenes of are front, eye
level shots. These shots show Ophelia like anyone else in the movie. Another difference in shots can
be seen in the mad scene part, when Ophelia goes mad after the death of Polonius, her father. In
Zeffirelli s film the scene is the camera tends to follow Ophelia around showing

total of twelve bedrooms, six large bathrooms and six small. The expensive house was decorated in
the theme of the Victorian era from the 1830s to 1901, with the main palette consisting of exquisite

Edward favored paler colors and dark green, so it was pretty much depending on the area in the house

vanilla melting on the tip of our tongues. I pushed the front door open, and the scented warmth

Case Study Of Air India
Objective
The objective of this case study is to understand the problems plaguing the Indian aviation sector
behemoth Air India. To analyze its organizational restructuring upon merger with Indian Airlines; the
effect it had on the physical and human capital of the company, and, how the management dealt with
the conflicts which arose from the deal.
Methodology
Findings Observations
Company Overview
Air India, the 3rd largest airline in India in terms of passengers carried is owned by Air India Limited,
a government of India enterprise and operates a fleet of Airbus Boeing aircraft. It is the first to provide
commercial airline services that became a public listed company after World War II. Founded by

In July 1946, Tata Airlines was nationalized and was taken over by the Indian Government. It was
turned into a public enterprise and renamed as AIL. The origin of IAL dates back to 1953 when seven
domestic airlines were merged to form Indian Airlines Corporation (IAC). IAL enjoyed a monopoly as
the domestic air carrier till the Indian economy was liberalized in 1991. With the entry of private
airlines, IAL s monopoly began to decline.
With both these flagship air carriers (AIL IAL) performing poorly, the idea of a merger between the
two began to gain ground. Praful Patel submitted the merger plan to the Union Cabinet in March 2006
for approval. The Government of India ordered Accenture Inc. to formulate a road map for the
proposed merger. According to Accenture, net synergy benefits of Rs 8.2 billion (against the
integration cost of Rs 2 billion) was envisaged, potential recurring synergies were expected to enhance
profitability by Rs 6 billion at the end of the 3rd year of

The Stranger By Albert Camus Essay
The Stranger was written by the French author Albert Camus, and was first published in 1942 in its
indigenous French. It s described as being the most widely read French novel of the twentieth century,
and has sold millions of copies in Britain and the United States alone. It s known by two titles; the
other being The Outsider. The backstory to this is very interesting but, more importantly, the subtle
difference in meaning between titles suggests certain resultant translative idiosyncrasies when reading
the texts. The conciseness and terseness of the novel demands a very specific interpretation if one is to
understand it correctly, and unless read in French some of the meaning is doubtless lost in translation .
Even so, the main idea in The Stranger is readily accessible, and that idea is the philosophy behind
meaning. Albert Camus tells states in his 1955 Preface to the American Edition of The Stranger: One
would therefore not be much mistaken to read The Stranger as the story of a man who, without any
heroics, agrees to die for the truth (Camus, 1955). The Stranger takes the reader on a journey that
simultaneously questions meaning, and utilizes Meursault as a vehicle in finding it. Most analyses
seem to define The Stranger as a foray into the Absurd , however, by the end of the novel Meursault
does indeed, find meaning in his world, and we ve been led to comprehend that discovery by Camus.
To validate this, we need to address how the text guides us to that

Brief Analysis Of The Case Inspired Marketing
Brief Summary of the case
Inspired Marketing was founded in 2009 by Sean Malarkey and Lewis Howes in Columbia, Ohio.
After an injury in football Howes started focusing his attention on the web. Both founders had strong
backgrounds in social median and internet marketing. They discovered the power of webinars early
on. Based on Howes experience on Linkin, Howes wrote a book and began selling his digital products.
A large amount of time was spend on traveling, selling books, and speaking only to make a few
thousand dollars a month.
The company needed a marketing tool that would allow them to reach a large population of people in
different locations without the high travel costs. This is what motivated Inspired Marketing to create
webinars and helped reach people in several areas without the cost of traveling. Initially it started
offering free educational webinars on a variety of topics. The firm was able to capitalize on this by
reaching mass amounts of people while serving two main objectives. The objectives were to generate
leads and sales from the webinars. This resulted in special offers on Twitter and fee based webinars.
The outcome has been remarkable with the first webinar generating $12,500 in sales during 60
minutes. In 2010, Howes did about 300 live webinars. It is speculated that in 2011, Inspired Marketing
will reach $2.5 million in sales. The initiation of free webinars have been an effective tool for
prospects and driving sales for Inspired Marketing. Most

Gay Rights In Generation Z
Generation Z is being hailed as the true WE Generation . Social media has allowed them to connect
and organize in ways previous generations couldn t, creating a youth culture focused on equality and
social change. However, this focus on equality doesn t always extend to the Lesbian Gay Bisexual
Transgender (LGBT) community. While Gen Z enjoys following stories about gay rights, they aren t
particularly interested in the issues facing the LGBT community (Seemiller Grace, 2016, p. 132).
Heterosexual youth simply aren t aware of how dangerous it is to be gay or transgender in America,
and believe that supporting marriage equality is the paramount of acceptance (Seemiller Grace, 2016,
p. 116). LGBT youth are still struggling with peer victimization and the resulting mental health issues
due to the ignorance society, and Gen Z, holds towards gay rights.
According to the 2015 GLSEN National School Climate Survey by Kosciw, Greytak, Giga, Villenas,
and Danischewski (2016), 57.6% of LGBT high school students felt unsafe at school because of their
sexual orientation, and 43.3% because of their gender expression. Students frequently heard other
students use anti gay phrases and homophobic slurs, and over two thirds had been verbally harassed
about their sexuality, yet the majority never reported the discrimination they faced (Kosciw et al.

Into The Wild Movie Essay
Into the Wild is a documentary film by Sean Penn that follows the life of Christopher Johnson
McCandless, a vagabond who tramped across the United States for two years before his journey led
him to Alaska, where he lived in the wilderness, sheltered by an abandoned transportation bus,
preceding his death. McCandless grew up with all the privileges of being raised in the suburbs by a
middle class family, he later went on to graduate from Emory University in Georgia, and seemed to
have his whole life stretched out in front of him. However, he did the exact opposite of what was
expected, severed all ties with his family, and adopted a life of chosen homelessness, where his travels
led him on wild adventures across the country. Many speculate that McCandless was pushed to do this
in order to spite his overbearing and abusive parents who verbally and physically assaulted each other
in front of their children, demanding they pick a side. Some say it was McCandless s desire to free
himself from all material constraints and the burden of societal pressures. Taking a psychological
approach, McCandless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe he sought to eradicate the child he had been in his parent s eyes; doing everything properly and
putting on the facade of an average suburban son (Becker 2007). However, it can also be argued that
McCandless s new identity did intend to kill him, to eliminate the old self and fully adopt this
newfound lifestyle of a nomadic transcendentalist. Did McCandless actually starve to death as the
result of ingesting an inedible wild sweet pea, or did Supertramp drive him to suicide? In his wood
carving he describes it as a climactic battle, perhaps between McCandless, representative of a
conventional life, and his antithesis, Supertramp, defined by Into the Wild author Jon Krakauer as,

My Experience At My Church

dad passed away. I felt God calling me to serve my church. I started to become more active in my
church s faithful followers group. I felt God come into my life. I got the chance to go on this amazing
trip that changed my life around.
I was sitting in my confirmation class on Sunday afternoon, when my teacher, Melanie, was talking
about all the upcoming events. She had an eye catching video about the National Catholic Youth
Conference or NCYC. The group from two years about created the video. They went into detail of
what we d get out of the trip. The thing that stuck out the most was the unique feeling of God s
presents. It was time to pay for our spot on this trip. The cost was $50, so you would have a seat on
the bus. This frightened me because I didn t know if I wanted to go for sure. I was going to be around
200,000 other people, only seven being ones from my church. Preparing for this trip was time
consuming. We had to dedicate all our free time this summer to setting up fundraisers. The trip was
$510 per person. Our fundraising consisted of selling Pastry Puffins, bake sales, and 50/50 tickets.
Also there were people who would donate so they could get a free pancake breakfast out of the deal.
We had meetings on top of meetings. We had to think of every possible thing we could to make this

entry points on the border There can be no effective reforms that can be put in place if the borders are
not secured from illegal immigrants. As such, after the United States controls the borders, should the
Congress consider temporary worker initiative. Securing the border would entail various aspects that

understanding of his culture often informs these responses. Whereas individual s understanding of
culture(s) is limited, that is the point where relativism comes in. where a knowledge stops is where
another start, hence opinions vary in relation to the individual experience of a subject matter. The
dynamics of a culture is dependent on its environment. These variables also have deep rooted relations

the generalization made there cannot be overemphasized. An inherent inhibition would be a product of
an individual or group s experience. If not, how would we explain the making of a serial killer? What
informed Hitler s decision to annihilate the Jews?
This paper interrogates the various contradictions in Nordstrom s opinion, about the various levels of
violence and their interpretations. Culture influences interpretations of events and they are relative to
context and individuals or groups. It also interrogates Berkowitz (1978:707) tentative summation of
pain as being the source of aggression in man. I attempt to test their ideas using Sapolsky s research in
neuroscience and Eagleton s literary theory. Nordstrom questions the idea that projects the intrinsic
nature of aggression in man against the backdrop of theories in psychoanalysis theories eschewed by
Eagleton and Sapolsky. Also, it appreciates the philosophical musing of Nordstrom while she offers a
case of what ought to.... as against what is in war and violence narratives.
The Irony in Nordstrom s reality
Nordstrom s description of war as cultural reality (Nordstrom 1998: 148) elucidates the thoughts of
this paper and reiterate the idea of cultural relativism. Hence, it casts a shadow on the notion of
political aggression or otherwise. Aggression at this point would be relative to an

Tone Your Facial Muscles With Yoga
While it is true that the downward facing dog is beneficial for the mind, soul and body, there are other
yoga moves that tone the face. We asked Danielle Collins, an expert on face yoga, to explain to us her
basic facial exercise routine that helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while it helps firm, lifts and

Abstract :
As no of patients that are suffering from cardiac diseases are increasing very rapidly, it is important
that remote ECG patient monitoring systems should be used as point of care (PoC) applications in
hospitals around the world. Therefore, huge amount of ECG signal collected by body sensor networks
from remote patients at homes will be transmitted along with other personal biological readings such
as blood pressure, temperature, glucose level, etc., and get treated accordingly by those remote patient
monitoring systems. It is very important that patient privacy is protected while data are being
transmitted over the public network as well as when they are stored in hospital servers . In this paper,
a one new technique has been introduced which is the hybrid of encryption and wavelet based ECG
steganography technique .
Encryption allows privacy and ECG steganography allows to hide one sensitive data into other
insensitive host thus guaranteeing the integration between ECG and the rest.

The Genetic Modification Of Humans
Remedial Genetic Modification When discussing the topic genetic modification of humans, some
people readily agree that modification of humans is an unsound procedure. Where their agreement
typically ends, however, is on the question of how much people generally understand about genetic
modification, considering, not only its unfamilirarity, but its broad diversity. Where as some are
convinced this bio ingenuity course of action is unnatural and should not be practiced, others maintain
that unnatural as it may be, its existence should be unveiled in the acceptance a method that primarily
revolves around assisting people for health purposes. I concede that genetic modification in humans
should be allowed remedially in reasons related to improving health. Firstly, the importance of
knowing what human genetic modification actual ranges in and what it entails towards the relevance
of helping people is mandatory. This is crucial for acknowledging its beneficial purposes. Although
the scientific explanations are intricate, the definitions can be generalized for easier understanding.
Competently, it is known that genetic code, genes, is directly inherited from parents to babies through
deoxyribonucleic acid, commonly known as DNA. DNA is two strands, connected by repeating
molecules, which form a spiral shape latter which composes genetic information (Koth). This DNA
strand incorporates, what we as humans, are made of and the type of characteristics we will

Mental Illnesses In The 1800s
During the 1800s, treating individuals with psychological issues was a problematic and disturbing
issue. Society didn t understand mental illness very well, so the mentally ill individuals were sent to
asylums primarily to get them off the streets. Patients in asylums were usually subjected to conditions
that today we would consider horrific and inhumane due to the lack of knowledge on mental illnesses.
In Bly s time, mental illnesses were not taken seriously. Bly described the asylum she was admitted to
as overcrowded, cold, and dirty (ch. 7). It defeated the purpose of trying to give extra attention to
those in need. It was easy to get admitted into an institution, but nearly impossible to make it out
because the treatment was not treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lack Of Fear In Lolita
Dr. Stanton Samenow wrote, You cannot be other than who you are. A crime that appears out of
character can be understood only by discerning what the character of the individual truly is .
Deciphering the characteristics that will identify a criminal can be very situational. Criminals actions
all depend on who they decide to be in the world around them. For law breakers like Humbert
Humbert, appeasing his pedophiliac urges becomes his main goal once setting his eyes on his landlord

Although bombarded in many situations by the landlord, Charlotte Haze, Humbert manages to
sexually assault Lolita without being caught. He narrates his thoughts during the encounters and
recalls ignoring the fear of being discovered in the act. During his first sexual engagement with Lolita
he mentions that, there seemed to be nothing to prevent [his] muscular thumb from reaching the hot
hollow of her groin just as you might tickle and caress a giggling child just that (Nabokov 61).
Humbert points out that he feels nothing preventing him from touching and groping Lolita. Despite
knowing that his actions are immoral, Humbert continues them, confident enough to not fear the
consequences that could happen. This criminal thinking error Humbert shows grants him the ability to
push the boundary when advancing sexually on Lolita. After gaining full possession of now orphaned
Dolores Haze, Humbert traps her in a shared hotel room with an extensive plan to rape her. Despite
her slight stirring and growing understanding of his sly abuse, Humbert still, after a long stirless vigil ,
had no fear when moving his, tentacles towards her again, and this time the creak of the mattress did
not awake her. [He] managed to bring [his] ravenous bulk so close to her that [he] felt the aura of her
bare shoulder like a warm breath upon [his] cheek (Nabokov 130). Lolita had previously hinted at
recognizing his strange steps to get closer romantically and physically to her yet, Humbert continued
to make his moves. At this point in novel, Humbert indirectly eliminates his one true way of being
caught and reported to authorities, Charlotte Haze. Without her, displays of affection towards Lolita
could be made publically in their space without fear. Not only does Humbert Humbert show no fear
with the watchful eye of Charlotte around, but even more with

Essay On China s Emergence As A Global Power
China s emergence as a global power has coincided with a somewhat heavy handed foreign policy
towards its neighbors. Internal disputes have included a political crisis in Hong Kong over the right to
vote, minority oppression in Inner Mongolia, and unhealthy air quality. China s rise has changed the
Asian power dynamic. Chinese foreign policy towards North Korea, protective in nature, has drawn
criticism. Worried about instability in Korea driving untrained refugees into China, its leadership
opposes any transformative actions in the region. China s policy towards Japan increasingly features
hostile rhetoric, as the two countries struggle for influence in the region. China s rising position as a

International Law does not support China s claims. The principle of effective occupation was
established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Island of Palmas in 1928. Effective
occupation entails an ability and intention to exercise continuous and uninterrupted jurisdiction, which
is distinguished from conquest. China has occupied the Paracel Islands, an archipelago of thirty
islands between China and Vietnam, but it has not occupied the Spratly Islands, an archipelago off the
coasts of the Philippines and Malaysia. It once occupied nine islands between 1988 and 1992, but the
islands are now occupied by various other claimants. China s claims are also disputed by the United
Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Under UNCLOS, claims to resources are based on
exclusive economic zones and continental shelves. China s claims far surpass its exclusive economic
zones and continental shelves, overlapping with the legal claims of other ASEAN states. China s
claims rely on historical interests, which carries no weight under international law.
Another problem stems from the natural resource potential of the sea. Estimations of oil in the region
present varied statistics, but everyone agrees that the area has oil. According to the Ministry of
Geological Resources and Mining of the People s Republic of China, the sea may contain 17.7 billion
tons of crude oil. The United States Energy Information Administration

Comparing Shakespeare s Sonnet 18 with To his Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell I will be comparing

was written by William s Shakespeare between 1564 and 1616. The poem To his Coy Mistress was
written by Andrew Marvell. The Purposes of the two poems are different, the purpose of Sonnet 18 is
for Shakespeare to write this poem for a girl or woman he likes, to praise her by comparing her to

Marvell does this to put her under pressure to have sex with him; this is a fear tactic and a persuasive
technique. He also associates the passing of time with her beauty fading, to make her more self
conscious and see that she should have sex with him beauty fades and she becomes ugly, then nobody
will have sex with her. He uses fear tactics throughout the poem to persuade her to have sex with him;
this affects the mood of the poem making it more threatening and tenser. For example; To talk and
pass our long love s day In line 11, Marvell talks about sex using phallic imagery when saying
vegetable love , this makes it humorous which will affect the mood making it less tense and relaxing.
Marvell uses many different tactics, such as exaggeration, by comparing her to the Indian Ganges;
Thou by the Indian Ganges side This affects the mood of the poem making it flattery, imagery such as
this will flatter the girl and persuade her to have sex with him, and this establishes that this technique
is persuasive. Marvell is Romantic in the poem in line 19; For, lady, you deserve this state This makes
this part of the poem calm and sensitive, which contrasts to the following verses of the poem as they

Introduction:
Electroconvulsive therapy or also known as ECT are electric current or shocks firing in the human

Manic Depression And The Gemini Disorder Essay
Manic depression, or The Gemini disorder is most commonly known as Bipolar Disorder. This illness
is a brain disorder, which causes abrupt and unusual mood shifts. These irritable mood shifts can be
related to the individual s energy, activity levels, or their ability to carry out daily tasks. This disorder
goes beyond the ordinary mood swings we all are aware of. Manic depression has three forms that are
characterized as periods of acute elevation of elatedness, or irritability. More often than not, the
symptoms begin as an adolescent, though, they can also occur as a young child or even middle age.
These forms of bipolar disorder are diagnosed in more than three million people a year, and are linked
to their genetic material. The history of bipolar disorder is almost as complex as the condition itself,
and dates back to ancient Greece. The first century Greeks and Romans were responsible for the terms
mania and melancholia. These terms are now called manic and depressive by modern day societies.
The ancient Greeks and Romans discovered that using lithium salts in baths tranquil manic episodes

help calm the nervous system in bipolar patients. During Greek philosopher, Aristotle s, time it was
common for people across the globe to be executed for having bipolar disorder and other mental

Character Development In Frances Goodrich s Diary Of Anne...
Throughout stories a lesson of some kind is taught and characters develop and grow. Diary of Anne

The Awakening by Kate Chopin The Victorian mindset a demeanor of setting women as having a role
of nothing more than a submissive wife and household aid. The Awakening showcases this mindset
through the enlightening of characteristics and qualities of several characters throughout the novel.
Edna Pontellier, at the age of twenty eight, is revealed throughout the novel as obtaining a gradual
change of self view of placement in society and life. Throughout the novel, this drastic change and
endurance of hardships are demonstrated through the setting, tone, overall progression of events,
symbolism, and example of other characters. Chopin begins the novel by revealing the setting, ...

Mademoiselle Reisz enlightened Edna on the idea that a bird who rises above the societal norms they
were faces with must have strong wings or else it will fall back down. This bird with strong wings
symbolizes the way in which Edna felt following her first swim. She felt invincible, and she felt as if
she could accomplish anything she set her mind to even if it was unheard of during the late 1800s.
However, the advice Mademoiselle Reisz offered Edna unfortunately was used as a foreshadow for
what was to come. The bird, Edna s emotions and feelings, did fall back down and crash. This was
evident after Robert left Edna a note, and she realized her chances at love were over. Not too long
afterwards, Edna headed to swim one last time. On her way to the shore, she spotter a bird with a
broken wing. This week bird was the last symbol of Edna s feelings she was broken hearted,
depressed, and uncertain. However, she still chose to have the independence she fought for so long for,
and she decided to end her life in the pit of all of the depression. She refused to allow anything else to
be taken away. This emotional hill of rising and falling only demonstrates further all of the
indifference Edna had to endure. The overall symbolism used by Chopin demonstrates both Edna s
actual situational difficulty and emotional difficulty that are pointed back

The Frontier Of American History
In the Significance of the Frontier in American History, Frederick Jackson Turner discusses the
understanding of the West as a concept. Turner s claims included that the expansion into the frontier
fueled individualism, stimulated democracy and nationalism, and widened the opportunity of
advancement. In the census of 1890, the frontier no longer had a place in the report because the
previously unsettled areas had been broken into areas of settlement. Turner uses the definition of two
people per square mile of land as the frontier s official closing, and no longer a point of historical
relevance. In the essay, Turner points out the differences in America s expansion with other nations.

The problem developed from excess credit of one of the field s founders, Frederick Jackson Turner.
Although Turner s writings left out large groups of people, many Americans viewed Turner s thesis as
Western history. When Turner s ideas began to be criticized, that something had gone wrong in
Western history, not Turner s thesis. The view of Western history slowly began to change. Turner
recognized the national significance of the frontier, so abandoning him would threaten the place of the
West in American history (Limerick). In 1984, American historian Patricia Limerick attended a history
conference. All of the focus of the history of America was on the revolutionary war in the East. This
inspired her to write Legacy of Conquest. Limerick wanted to reclaim what other historians have said,
critique Turner, but not throw the idea of the west away. Her thesis argues the West as a place of
property and cultural dominance. Limerick defines the West as a place of conquest and diversity.
Limerick stresses the West as a place rather than a process, but didn t draw exact borders of the region.
Limerick deemphasizes the end of the frontier; she argues that the West was an important meeting
ground for a diversity of languages, cultures, and religions, including minorities Turner left out. This

  • 2. United States Vs South Korea Essay A democratic country is the country governed directly or indirectly by people who have their sovereignty, so it has the laws to protect citizens rights. Most countries in the world adopt democracy, and so do United States and South Korea. However, it doesn t mean that not both countries laws are same. There are some similar and different points between United States and South Korea in their laws to protect individual rights. There are five similar points in their laws. First of all, the First Amendment and the Article 21 of Korean Constitution are about freedom of speech, press, religion, and so on. Secondly, the Fourth Amendment and the Article 12 and 13 of Korean Constitution are about protection from unreasonable search and arrest. Thirdly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, the Second Amendment is about right for having arms and army. However, there is no Article in Korean Constitution about it and it is illegal. Secondly, the Third Amendment is about protection from quartering of army, but this also doesn t exist in Korean Constitution. Thirdly, the Seventh Amendment is about civil trial by jury, and laws related to this point don t exist in Korea. However, there is a noticeable point in Korea, which is called Civil Participation in Criminal Trials. It has been enforced since 2008 and is same with United States in terms of having jury, but there are two crucial differences. In Korea, jury can only participate in criminal cases and their verdicts have no legal binding forces, just advisory effects. Fourthly, the Ninth Amendment is about protection of rights not specified in the Bill of Rights, and Korea does not have laws involving this aspect naturally because the Korean Government does not adopt the Bill of Rights. Lastly, the Tenth Amendment is about powers of states and people, but this point is vague. The concept of powers of people can applied to both United States and Korea, but the concept of powers of state can t because the Korean Government does not have federal system. Therefore, in this essay, it is categorized as difference, but some people can regard it as same ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ashe s parents have been divorced for 2 years since she stole the money. Ashleigh only gets to see her dad once a week and the rest of the time she s with her mom. Ashes dad is a dreamer and her mom is very practical. Ashes stole the money because her dad was sweet to her, she loved him, and her mom was a stick in the mud. Ashe s dad did many sweet things for her so she decided to steal the money. Ashe s dad gave her roses or sang her a song which cheered her up. Ashleigh s dad would do nice things for her because she was his daughter, but also because he wanted her to favor him. Ashes and her dad like to treat themselves to nice dinners every once in awhile. Ashleigh s dad may not of been able to afford it, but he took her to the restaurants because he wanted what s best for her. Ashes dad told her: You have flair Ashes. (Pfeffer,2). Ashes says that her dad is, ...unexpectedly there, like a warm day in January. (Pfeffer,1). This is a simile comparing her dad to a warm day in January. That means Ashe s dad is enjoyable because in January it s cold and if there is a nice warm day it is nice to have. Ashes and her dad both said: She s the most practical person I know. (Pfeffer,1). Gaines choice of setting for his novel A Lesson Before Dying emphasizes the story s central theme of racism and segregation. Gaines setting choices of a small southern Louisiana town in the 1940s, Henri Pichot s plantation house and the local courthouse/jail all help to emphasize the central theme of racism and segregation in the novel A Lesson Before Dying. • 7. Castles of the Welsh Princes and Gaelic Irish Lords Essay... The high medieval Welsh princes and Gaelic Irish lords are comparable in several ways. Both had to contend with the ever growing presence of the Anglo Normans and were able to maintain some form of native rule throughout the period ( Gaelic lordly settlement 209). Furthermore, castles played a significant role in the proceedings whether built or captured and whether they were of native origins or Anglo Norman. This can be attributed to their capabilities of withstanding various scales of warfare and being one of the means of displaying lordly rank ( Settlement and Society 97). However, the functions, characteristics, and prevalence of castles are not necessarily uniform across the three groups. Using the historical and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Accordingly, the building styles of Welsh castles bear marked similarities to their Anglo Norman counterparts. (Davis 7) This resemblance, a scarcity of historical records from the Welsh, and the frequency with which the castles would change ownership make identifying sites built or occupied by the native Welsh problematic (30). This is compounded by multiple construction phases that would frequently, but not always, accompany changes in ownership and complicate the archaeological evidence. For example, Denbigh Castle in Gwynedd was originally a native castle that housed Llwelyn the Great and his grandson Dafydd ap Gruffudd, but its physical characteristics are lost to history due to the only remains belonging to a later castle built by Earl Henry de Lacy in 1282 (Davis 52). The remains of Welsh earthwork castles are considered to be indistinguishable from Anglo Norman. As a result, only 8.5% of the remaining castles accounted for in Wales, thirty six of the four hundred and twenty seven, are attributed to the Welsh. However, this percentage is not thought to reflect the totality of Welsh castles. (Chateau Gaillard 11) The start of Welsh castle building correspondingly occurs after 1066. Welshpool in Powys is the first castle recorded to have been built by the Welsh nobility. This would have presumably been accomplished after Cadwgan ap Bleddyn took over the region in ... The thoughts of philosophers like Voltaire, Montesquieu, and Locke inspired many, such as the Americans. Their ideas about freedom of religion, civil liberties, free trade, and social reforms became the basis that the Americans built their new country upon and impacted politics and culture. Due to the advanced ideas that were emerging from Europe, religious views of the colonists started to alter. • 9. Portrayal Of Ophelia Throughout The Two Film Versions Of... Simran Jandu Mr. Crawford English 40S November 11, 2016 Portrayal of Ophelia in the two film versions of Hamlet Hamlet is an acknowledging Shakespearean play that was later filmed in 1990 by Franco Zeffirelli and in 1996 by Kenneth Branagh. Both these directors interpret the play differently adding unique twists and turns of their own to help focus on one thing than the other. In their contrasting films, these two directors depict the character of Ophelia very differently. Through Zeffirelli s film, Ophelia, played by Helena Bonham Carter is portrayed as a dreamy, naive, childish character, however in Branagh s version; Kate Winslet portrays Ophelia as a more mature, sensible and strong willed character. These different portrayals of Ophelia can be further analyzed through cinematography, set and costume designs and through the actor themselves. Firstly, the different interpretation of Ophelia is shown through the cinematography of the two films. Cinematography refers to the camera movement and angles. Zeffirelli chooses to make many of Ophelia s shots filmed from above, reinforcing Ophelia s character small helpless and under control. Whereas in Branagh s most of the scenes of are front, eye level shots. These shots show Ophelia like anyone else in the movie. Another difference in shots can be seen in the mad scene part, when Ophelia goes mad after the death of Polonius, her father. In Zeffirelli s film the scene is the camera tends to follow Ophelia around showing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The three storey champaign house with a total of twelve bedrooms, six large bathrooms and six small. The expensive house was decorated in the theme of the Victorian era from the 1830s to 1901, with the main palette consisting of exquisite and aristocratic furnitures contrasting with pale walls. The furnitures were predominantly decorative delicate flowers exquisite beauty but equally splendid. Olivia liked the shades of red and purple, Edward favored paler colors and dark green, so it was pretty much depending on the area in the house that which colors were the dominant one. The house also had a small garden where Olivia grew her small vines below a steel framework, over the years, they formed a small vergola on the corner of the garden, we often sat under it, read on pleasant summer days or drank hot chocolate on cold winter days, with a small flame we would grill marshmallows, enjoying the sweet taste of milk, sugar and vanilla melting on the tip of our tongues. I pushed the front door open, and the scented warmth engulfed me with delighted glee. Obviously Olivia and Edward were busily preparing for the Thanksgiving dinner, so there would be no lunch at all but chocolate chip cookies and nonfat milk. In July 1946, Tata Airlines was nationalized and was taken over by the Indian Government. It was turned into a public enterprise and renamed as AIL. IAL enjoyed a monopoly as the domestic air carrier till the Indian economy was liberalized in 1991. With the entry of private airlines, IAL s monopoly began to decline. With both these flagship air carriers (AIL IAL) performing poorly, the idea of a merger between the two began to gain ground. • 12. The Stranger By Albert Camus Essay The Stranger was written by the French author Albert Camus, and was first published in 1942 in its indigenous French. It s described as being the most widely read French novel of the twentieth century, and has sold millions of copies in Britain and the United States alone. It s known by two titles; the other being The Outsider. The backstory to this is very interesting but, more importantly, the subtle difference in meaning between titles suggests certain resultant translative idiosyncrasies when reading the texts. The conciseness and terseness of the novel demands a very specific interpretation if one is to understand it correctly, and unless read in French some of the meaning is doubtless lost in translation . Even so, the main idea in The Stranger is readily accessible, and that idea is the philosophy behind meaning. Albert Camus tells states in his 1955 Preface to the American Edition of The Stranger: One would therefore not be much mistaken to read The Stranger as the story of a man who, without any heroics, agrees to die for the truth (Camus, 1955). The Stranger takes the reader on a journey that simultaneously questions meaning, and utilizes Meursault as a vehicle in finding it. Most analyses seem to define The Stranger as a foray into the Absurd , however, by the end of the novel Meursault does indeed, find meaning in his world, and we ve been led to comprehend that discovery by Camus. To validate this, we need to address how the text guides us to that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Brief Analysis Of The Case Inspired Marketing Brief Summary of the case Inspired Marketing was founded in 2009 by Sean Malarkey and Lewis Howes in Columbia, Ohio. After an injury in football Howes started focusing his attention on the web. Both founders had strong backgrounds in social median and internet marketing. They discovered the power of webinars early on. Based on Howes experience on Linkin, Howes wrote a book and began selling his digital products. A large amount of time was spend on traveling, selling books, and speaking only to make a few thousand dollars a month. The company needed a marketing tool that would allow them to reach a large population of people in different locations without the high travel costs. This is what motivated Inspired Marketing to create webinars and helped reach people in several areas without the cost of traveling. Initially it started offering free educational webinars on a variety of topics. The firm was able to capitalize on this by reaching mass amounts of people while serving two main objectives. The objectives were to generate leads and sales from the webinars. This resulted in special offers on Twitter and fee based webinars. The outcome has been remarkable with the first webinar generating $12,500 in sales during 60 minutes. In 2010, Howes did about 300 live webinars. It is speculated that in 2011, Inspired Marketing will reach $2.5 million in sales. The initiation of free webinars have been an effective tool for prospects and driving sales for Inspired Marketing. Social media has allowed them to connect and organize in ways previous generations couldn t, creating a youth culture focused on equality and social change. While Gen Z enjoys following stories about gay rights, they aren t particularly interested in the issues facing the LGBT community (Seemiller Grace, 2016, p. 132). Heterosexual youth simply aren t aware of how dangerous it is to be gay or transgender in America, and believe that supporting marriage equality is the paramount of acceptance (Seemiller Grace, 2016, p. 116). Into The Wild Movie Essay Into the Wild is a documentary film by Sean Penn that follows the life of Christopher Johnson McCandless, a vagabond who tramped across the United States for two years before his journey led him to Alaska, where he lived in the wilderness, sheltered by an abandoned transportation bus, preceding his death. McCandless grew up with all the privileges of being raised in the suburbs by a middle class family, he later went on to graduate from Emory University in Georgia, and seemed to have his whole life stretched out in front of him. However, he did the exact opposite of what was expected, severed all ties with his family, and adopted a life of chosen homelessness, where his travels led him on wild adventures across the country. Many speculate that McCandless was pushed to do this in order to spite his overbearing and abusive parents who verbally and physically assaulted each other in front of their children, demanding they pick a side. Some say it was McCandless s desire to free himself from all material constraints and the burden of societal pressures. Taking a psychological approach, McCandless ... Internal disputes have included a political crisis in Hong Kong over the right to vote, minority oppression in Inner Mongolia, and unhealthy air quality. China s rise has changed the Asian power dynamic. Chinese foreign policy towards North Korea, protective in nature, has drawn criticism. Worried about instability in Korea driving untrained refugees into China, its leadership opposes any transformative actions in the region. China s policy towards Japan increasingly features hostile rhetoric, as the two countries struggle for influence in the region. The principle of effective occupation was established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Island of Palmas in 1928. Effective occupation entails an ability and intention to exercise continuous and uninterrupted jurisdiction, which is distinguished from conquest. China has occupied the Paracel Islands, an archipelago of thirty islands between China and Vietnam, but it has not occupied the Spratly Islands, an archipelago off the coasts of the Philippines and Malaysia. It once occupied nine islands between 1988 and 1992, but the islands are now occupied by various other claimants. China s claims are also disputed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Under UNCLOS, claims to resources are based on exclusive economic zones and continental shelves. China s claims far surpass its exclusive economic zones and continental shelves, overlapping with the legal claims of other ASEAN states. China s claims rely on historical interests, which carries no weight under international law. Another problem stems from the natural resource potential of the sea. Estimations of oil in the region present varied statistics, but everyone agrees that the area has oil. According to the Ministry of Geological Resources and Mining of the People s Republic of China, the sea may contain 17.7 billion tons of crude oil. She felt invincible, and she felt as if she could accomplish anything she set her mind to even if it was unheard of during the late 1800s. However, the advice Mademoiselle Reisz offered Edna unfortunately was used as a foreshadow for what was to come. The bird, Edna s emotions and feelings, did fall back down and crash. This was evident after Robert left Edna a note, and she realized her chances at love were over. Not too long afterwards, Edna headed to swim one last time. On her way to the shore, she spotter a bird with a broken wing. This week bird was the last symbol of Edna s feelings she was broken hearted, depressed, and uncertain. Although Turner s writings left out large groups of people, many Americans viewed Turner s thesis as Western history. When Turner s ideas began to be criticized, that something had gone wrong in Western history, not Turner s thesis. The view of Western history slowly began to change. Turner recognized the national significance of the frontier, so abandoning him would threaten the place of the West in American history (Limerick). In 1984, American historian Patricia Limerick attended a history conference. All of the focus of the history of America was on the revolutionary war in the East. This inspired her to write Legacy of Conquest. Limerick wanted to reclaim what other historians have said, critique Turner, but not throw the idea of the west away. Her thesis argues the West as a place of property and cultural dominance. Limerick defines the West as a place of conquest and diversity. Limerick stresses the West as a place rather than a process, but didn t draw exact borders of the region.
