Use Of Force In Policing
In terms of police work, the use of force is an inevitable measure. According to the National Institute
of Justice, Law enforcement officers should use only the amount of force necessary to mitigate an
incident, make an arrest, or protect themselves or others from harm. There are also many factors that
need to be taken into consideration, these include: whether or not the amount of force is justified,
whether or not this officer has been properly trained, whether or not the department will be held
criminally liable for the use of force, and so on. Law enforcement officers are given an incredible
amount of discretion solely due to the nature of their career. They are faced with potentially life
threatening situations, which require an exceptional amount of judgment. Due to these situations,
officers are expected to think and act quickly, consciously, and appropriately. It seems that the use of
force is a very necessary aspect of policing, however, the amount of force used should be handled with
great discretion. Officers who use an excessive amount of force are more than likely to cause a
community to become a negative environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Force by an officer can range from a factor as simple as the tone of their voice to something as
controversial as lethal measures. Verbal commands, which are widely considered to be non lethal
force, consist of conversational orders and/or verbal threats. The National Institute of Justice states
that officers claim to have used a controversial tone with over half of suspects arrested. However, if
the nature of verbal contact includes shouting, threats, or cursing, it can very well be considered an
element of force. More controversial aspects of force include tasers as well as

Boston Beer Company SWOT Analysis
The Boston Beer Company is currently the largest craft beer company in the United States, however,
the craft beer industry is growing in an otherwise shrinking market increasing the amount of serious
competition that The Boston Beer Company is facing.
In order to stay on top of the industry, The Boston Beer Company needs to find new, innovative ways
of being the most appealing craft beer available to the average consumer. While The Boston Beer
Company offers many different varieties of seasonal beer, they should begin to shift their focus to year
round specialty beers, such as a line of regional flavors based on their consumer s regional taste
preferences.

The committee will then determine the cities with the most potential to move forward with.
Representatives from the Real Estate Department will search the area for existing small, already
existing brewery locations available to lease or rent. If no pre existing locations are available, then
competitors with the potential to buy out will be identified. Ideally, leases will be signed for a 7 year
term, with the option to extend the lease after 5 years. All locations should be determined by the end
of the third quarter. As soon as the areas are identified, members of the Human Resource Department
will begin searching for Brew Master to run and operate each of the new nano brewery locations.
These Brew Masters can be identified from current brewery locations or from competitors local to the
new locations. Training on the methods and policies of the Boston Beer Company should be
immediately upon identification.
Boston Beer Company should then conduct regional market studies to determine potential flavors for
each specific region based off existing local craft breweries and popular regional flavor combinations.
Each smaller market study should be conducted by local consulting firms who already have an
understanding of the demographics and culture of the region they are studying. These studies should

An Analysis Of The Play Sure Things By Davis Ives
Sure Things by Davis Ives Analysis
In 1988 David Ives created Sure Things a short play One act comedy where he explores many
possibilities of a common social daily life situation; dating. With only two characters, Betty and Bill,
common names for common people and with fine humor and critic vision, using a peculiar and
functional language the author reveals in many ways how this every day activity can have a different
outcome, depending in the moment, chosen words, characters mood, personality and intention.
In spite of being One Act short play Sure Things has all elements a plot or play should have. The
setting is a cafรฉ, and the first scene describes the characters as Betty, a woman in her late twenties, is
reading at a cafรฉ table. An empty chair is opposite her. Bill, same age, enters. (Kennedy, Goia 1187).
The vague descriptions of the setting and characters led the audience to focus their ... Show more

The book s title is a reference to a soliloquy in Shakespeare s Macbeth that talks about how life is a
shadow of the past ( Sure Things ). In this play the scenes repeat itself over and over again creating a
shadow of the past. In the same way the reference of Woody Allen s movie Bananas is a metaphor for
the ridiculous nature of the relationship between Bill and Betty and a backdrop for the scene itself. (
Sure Things ). In the movie Fielding Mellish falls in love with Nancy who thinks that he is not good
enough for her. He is not part of her social and intellectual circle, but when he becomes an important
business man she falls in love with him. The same happened in the play Sure Things where seems that
the only way their relationship have any option to proceed was by correcting anything that does not
work for each other. Perhaps the name of the play means exactly that, sure things are necessary in

Decay In The House Of The Seven Gables
In Nathaniel Hawthorne s gothic novel, The House of the Seven Gables, the house plays many
supernatural key roles which changes the mood of the book multiple times. The supernatural role
starts out as a curse put upon those who are descendants of the Pyncheon family, but changes the
culmination of the story. This key element to the story takes on many evil forms, but gives the story its
delightful end. Early on in the story, Matthew Maule curses the Pyncheon family before his hanging,
therefore inciting the supernatural role. Thus brings the beginning of decay and destruction upon the
Pyncheon family which continues on throughout generations. Early on in the novel, Hawthorne writes,

Judge Jaffrey follows in his ancestor s footsteps and rises to power early in his life. His greed and lust
for power knows no ends, and he gets his own family locked up to increase his own influence.
However, even he cannot escape the curse that affects those with his qualities. Like the Colonel, he
dies in the house in a chair, waiting for for someone to find his dead body. The supernatural pulls
Alice and Phoebe, those that do not let greed control them, and pushes them down a different path.
Alice becomes hypnotized by one of Matthew Maule s ancestors in an attempt to locate the missing
deed located somewhere inside the house. Maule summons the spirits of his father, grandfather, and
old Colonel Pyncheon, however, the two Maule spirits prevent Colonel Pyncheon s ghost from telling
Maule the deed s whereabouts. The ignorance of his ancestors leads to the death of Alice, and the
further decay of the house. Phoebe faces an entirely different fate when the supernatural powers that
the Maule s carry fails to work against the Pyncheon family for the first

It seems to be that prefix re can only attaches to transitive verbs in list A, not to intransitive verbs.
However , there are some exceptions when prefix r can attach to intransitive verbs in list B such as
resit, rego, relapse,...
C. When re is attached to a word or stem, the part of speech of the resulting word or stem still
remains. For example: do : a verb( redo is also a verb.
D. In general, adding the prefix re to a word or stem, the meaning changes indicate the repetition of
action or with the meaning back or backward to indicate withdrawal or backward motion such as
revert, regenerate,..
In the ideal cases, that prefix re brings the unpredicted meaning
E. Some word with re that have erractic or unexpected meanings such as rebel, rescue, remark, refer,

G. The prefix re also brings itself some problematic aspects of morphological analysis.

verbs. However, there are some exceptions that the prefix re is also attached to some adjectives such
as refine, renew..

Types Of Fogs And The Foggiest Places
Types of Fogs and the Foggiest places in U.S. Fog, like any cloud, usually forms in one of two ways:
(1) by cooling air is cooled below its saturation point (dew point); and (2) by evaporation and mixing
water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and mixing water vapor is added to the air by
evaporation, and the moist air mixes with relatively dry air. (Ahrens Samson, 2011, p. 97)
Radiation Fog, (ground fog) Occurs when the radiational air temperature is below its dew point over
land. The best conditions are when dry air overlay s a thin layer of humid air during a clear night.
These conditions allow for cooling of the ground to happen fast due to the thin layer, humid layer does
not take in much earth s departing infrared radiations.
Advection fog, conditions call for hot and humid air to blow over a cool surface, since the surface
cools the air. The dew point temperature has to be cool enough as the air temperature which causes
condensation to form and creates a dense fog to form. As the warm air cools, the temperature will
reach the dew point temperature, forcing the water vapor to condense into a cloud. (Masters, 2016)
Upslope fog, this type of fog may occur on mountain tops when cold air blows up a slope known as,
orographic uplift. The air condenses since it builds up moisture as the cold rises. Evaporation (mixing)
fog, this type of fog forms when two unsaturated masses of air are combined.
Some of the foggiest places that we can see these events

An agreement with Iran over its nuclear program was achieved in late November 2013
In the past, the international community has chosen to deal with the Iranian situation by an ever
tightening series of sanctions/actions: for the US it was the Iranian Hostage Crises. President Carter in
November of 1979 declared an emergency and ordered a freeze on all Iranian assets according to PBS.

This was followed by a further decrease to about 700,000 barrels per day by May 2013, according to
industry sources cited by Reuters. This was to deny hard currency that can be siphoned for Iran s

June 2010, the European Union enacted measures similar to those approved by the U.S. Congress that
banned investment and assistance to Iran s energy sector, and a series of other prohibitions was placed.
It is transparent that this is not a US only action not only has the EU imposed sanctions , the UN has
also imposed sanctions and for the UN to pass a resolution, the UNSC has to act with all five
permanent members needing to agree (United Nations Security Council) this makes the Iranian
program an international concern:
Resolution 1737 (2006); the Security Council today imposed sanctions on Iran, blocking the import or
export of sensitive nuclear material and equipment and freezing the financial assets of persons or
entities supporting its proliferation sensitive nuclear activities or the development of nuclear weapon
delivery systems
Resolution 1747 in March 2007, intensifying the previous sanctions package while also naming
specific officials as targets of the sanctions and adding additional sanctions against Iranian financial
institutions.
Despite sanctions from the US, EU, and the UN, Iran still had the necessary means in material, capital

Hydrogen Gas Lab
Hydrogen Gas Produced from Metals and Acids
Abstract
Experiments 2 1 and 2 2 study the production of hydrogen gas by different chemical reactions. By
using a hydrogen gas collection apparatus and the principles of chemistry, we were able to evaluate
the data and reach our goal. Experiment 2 1 uses zinc, magnesium and aluminum and how much
hydrogen gas they produce to predict the volume of hydrogen gas produced for different masses of
each metal. In this experiment we see that each metal has an increasing amount of hydrogen gas as
mass goes up, however each metal had different amount of hydrogen gas for the same mass. Zinc
produced the least amount of hydrogen gas, then increasing with magnesium, and aluminum produced
the highest amount. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was an increasing trend because the metal was the limiting reactant in this experiment. The
amount of each metal placed in the hydrochloric acid was fully used up before the acid was. From
Figure 1, it is clear that aluminum produced the most amount of hydrogen gas, then magnesium in the
middle and zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas. This shows that the same mass of each
metal does not produce the same amount of hydrogen gas. Looking at the balanced equations for each
of the metals (see lab 2 1, equation 1 and 2), it seems the metals have a similar stoichiometry, however
zinc produced a lesser amount of hydrogen gas compared to magnesium because zinc has a higher
molar mass than magnesium does. Due to this, more zinc is needed to produce the same amount of
hydrogen gas as magnesium. When aluminum and magnesium are compared, it is seen that aluminum
and magnesium have similar molar masses, however they have a different stoichiometry (experiment 2
1, equation 1 and 3). Two moles of aluminum react to produce three moles of hydrogen gas, while one
mole of magnesium react to produce one mole of hydrogen gas. Based on this stoichiometry, a higher
mass of magnesium is needed to produce the same amount of hydrogen gas as

The Environmental Protection Agency ( Epa )
We live in a world where synthetic chemicals are routinely used for the production of essential
components of modern life. As more research emerges correlations are made, chemicals are tested,
and toxicants are identified, reengineered, and replaced with others equal in cause but unequal in
effect. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is the national authority tasked with this dynamic
approach. The EPA defines hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) as pollutants that are known or suspected
to cause cancer or other serious health effects, such as... damage to the immune system, as well as
neurological, reproductive... developmental, respiratory and other health problems (About Air Toxics,

Fugitive emissions include equipment leaks, evaporative losses from surface impoundments and spills,
and releases from building ventilation systems (Release Reports, 2015). Point Source air emissions,
also called stack air are emissions that occur through confined air streams such as stack, vent, ducts, or
pipes (Release Reports, 2015). This paper will hereafter discuss HAPs in Boulder, Colorado where I
was born. Boulder County is home to an estimated 313,333 people with a median age of 28.7.
Furthermore, 5% of people are below age 5, 20.3% are below age 18, and 12.2% of people are 65 or
older. There are 405.6 people per square mile but that number jumps to 3987.4 in city limits. 90.8% of
the population is white. 2.42 people on average occupy any given home, the median household
income is $67,956 and 14.2% of people are living below poverty. Lastly, 11.23% of people are
uninsured (State and County Quick Facts, 2015). Boulder is over 5300 feet above sea level with an
arid, sunny climate. The Rocky Mountains provide a backdrop that beckons residents to explore either
by skiing, biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, or more. Toluene is the seventh largest fugitive air
emission in the greater Denver area. In 2014 the EPA estimated that 22,906 pounds were released not

Explain How Far Was Lord Dishili The Architect Of The 1867...
How far was Disraeli the Architect of the second reform act of 1867? It can be argued that Disraeli
was the architect of reform during the late 1860 s and through 1867 reform act, mainly due to the fact
that he realised that the conservative party might be seen as non reforming. To counter this he would
expand the franchise and gain potential new voters. However there is also significant evidence that
Lord Derby was the main architect of reform, mostly due to the fact that he had been part of the 1832
reform bill and when he returned to power in 1866 he took the lead in presenting the conservative
reform bill. One reason, which shows that Disraeli was the Architect of the Second Reform Bill 1867,
is that Disraeli wanted to consolidate his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Source 7 is from a letter written by Lord Derby to Disraeli saying that the conservatives have to deal
with the question of reform . It also says that Derby is not in favour of resisting reform... there is a
genuine demand , this shows that Derby was supporting reform as he saw the national push and
demand for reform which he believed could strengthen the Tory party. The letter came after pressure
for reform increased after attempts by liberals to deal with the issue in 1866, however Disraeli was
reluctant to deal with it. Due to Disraeli being reluctant to deal with the pressure for reform, it shows
that he was not as supportive of reform as Derby, thus it could be said that Derby was the main
architect of reform. Source 8 also supports the idea that Derby was the main architect of reform. It
explains that when Derby and Disraeli returned to power in 1866, it was Derby who took the lead in
proposing a conservative reform bill . Derby had previously helped to draft the 1832 reform bill 34
years earlier and he steered the 1867 measure through the Lords and held the conservative party in
unity with his one aim to place the Tory party permanently in power. He was to do this by expanding
the franchise to gain new voters because they would be seen as the reforming party whilst using the
most conservative measure

Essay On Gemstones
The Properties and Types Of Gemstones
Before we get further into this topic of properties and types let s make the basics clear. What exactly is
a Gemstone? Well, The answer is pretty simple a gemstone is mineral or organic substance that is cut
and polished and used as ornaments. Gemstones are also used as a part of many supersticious beliefs
eg. Birthstones, good luck charms etc. Now that we know what gemstones mean we will now see how
to identify the various properties of gemstones.
Properties of a Gemstone
A gemstone is purely classified under two properties they are 1) Optical Properties and
2) Physical properties.
All properties of gemstones be it physical or optical are derived from the three dimensional structure
and chemical properties ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is basically the inner structure of the gemstone and this property again deals with hardness, it can
determine how hard a gemstone is based on the crystal system it also helps to determine the durability
of the gemstones. The crystal systems are cubic, tetragonal, hexagonal, trigonal, monoclinic, triclinic,
orthorhombic.
8) Fracture
Although cleavage and fracture both deals with weakness in planes. Cleavage is only found in certain
gemstones whereas fracture is found in every gemstone and any direction apart from cleavage that
occurs only in one direction. A fracture is a break in the emstone not along the cleavage plane. There
are different types of fractures namely even uneven concoidal etc. ,ost common in gemstone being
concoidal mostly seen in corundum.
Now that we are also finished talking about the physical properties. Lets move on to the types of
gemstones.
There are basically two types of classification
1) Precious and semi precious gemstones
The precious gemstones are diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz, garnet, opal, amethyst,
chrysoberyl, moonstone, turquoise, jade, amber and finally the most important one is pearl.

Forensic Dentistry Essay
DNA in Forensic Dentistry
Human identification has relied hugely on forensic dentistry. Forensic experts frequently require ante
mortem samples, such as dental records and compares them with post mortem samples to carry on the
identification. However, this documentation (i.e. DNA profiling) may be unavailable or incomplete in
various situations. At present, with the application of molecular techniques for human identification, it
is possible to identify a person using small amounts of deteriorated and degraded biological material,
i.e. DNA. This could be easily demonstrated after the tsunami in South Asia, on December 26th 2004,
when various techniques like forensic dentistry, forensic pathology, DNA profiling and fingerprinting
were used for human identification. Although 99% of bodies were identified, only 1% of identification
could be based on DNA profiling.
Exogenous factors like fire, heat and explosions may limit the retrieval of DNA from body remnants
thereby limiting the processes of human identification. In such situations where conventional methods
fail teeth come into the picture of identification and criminology, due to the uniqueness of dental
tissues to withstand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its main advantage is the high number of copies per cell (from hundreds to thousands of organelles).
Teeth (dentine) provide an excellent source mtDNA and is a powerful tool for forensic identification
as it contains high copy number, maternal inheritance and sequence variability and therefore is
extremely useful in forensic analysis. Each new offspring get their mtDNA from mother s egg and
nuclear DNA from father s sperm. Comparing mtDNA profile of unidentified samples with potential
maternal relatives can lead to identification of missing

The Evolution Of Oled Displays
In the modern era of Graphical Display Technology, there has been a rapid advancement. With arise of
CRTs; there came an existence for the world of displays. Soon after, various research and development
in the field of displays gave the cutting edge technologies such as LCDs, LEDs, and Plasma Displays.
In such scenario, a display ability to produce deep, dark blacks and crisper colors are arguably the
most important factor in achieving excellent picture quality. Deeper blacks allows for higher contrast
and richer colors, and thus a more realistic and dazzling image. When it comes to black levels, OLED
reigns as the undisputed champion. OLEDS stands for Organic Light Emitting Diodes. OLEDs are

The proposed mechanism was field accelerated electron excitation of molecular fluorescence. Roger
Partridge made the first observation of electroluminescence from polymer films at the National
Physical Laboratory in the United Kingdom. The device consisted of a film of poly (N vinylcarbazole)
up to 2.2 micrometers thick located between two charge injecting electrodes. The results of the project
were patented in 1975 and published in 1983. The first practical OLEDs: American physical chemist
Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak built the first practical OLED device in
1987.This device used a two layer structure with separate hole transporting and electron transporting
layers such that recombination and light emission occurred in the middle of the organic layer; this
resulted in a reduction in operating voltage and improvements in efficiency. 3. Evolution: The
discovery of the electroluminescence in organic crystals by Martin Pope and his research group in
1963 has opened a new era, especially in the field of OLEDs. However, the development of organic
electroluminescence based devices is very slow due to the requirement of high voltage as well as for
low efficiency. About 29 years ago, in 1987, Ching W. Tang and Steve Van Slyke have discovered the
first efficient light emitting device based

struggle to write it herself and asked me if I could sit with her and help her to think of the words to say
and if I would write it out for her. I agreed to do this and I explained to Mrs Smith that this was a very
personal thing she had asked me to do and reassured her that what was written in the letter would

Latex Balloon Speech
Introductory Paragraph
Thesis: Latex balloons should not be banned due to their possibility of harming the environment,
considering that the latex balloon has become essential for balloon decor and much more, such as
latex creations presented as art.
Body of Argument Paragraph 1:
Background Info: The first balloon art creation is known as the balloon dog. It is not known when
balloon art began, but several historians believe the art may have gotten its start with Herman Bonnert
from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who some believe started twisting balloons into animal shapes at
magicians conventions in the late 1930s ( Who Invented Balloon Animal? ). The balloon animal
shapes are created by balloon benders, or balloon twisters. This special talent consists of using one

Refutation: Balloons function for art and ordinary celebrations without the requirement of helium (or
other gases) which elevate the latex substance.
Many balloon sculptures and businesses promote more balloon sculptures or columns that require no
helium filled balloons.
As well, balloon droppings, or the release of air balloons previously attached to a ceiling by a net, are
suggested instead of balloon launchings.
Body of Argument Paragraph 3: A career based off latex balloons may seem impossible, more so now
due to regulations on balloon inflation, however many small business have grown into sellers for
corporate buyers seeking balloon art.
Claim: Balloon artistry may be like any other job, yet more suitable because a person may earn an
income from a work he or she enjoys.
Evidence: To execute professional balloon art it takes a college education or at least balloon training

Reinstatement of Softball Into the 2016 Olympics
PLAY BALL!! This is a saying that has been used for many years in softball as well as in baseball.
Now, those two words will not be heard in the Olympics for at least half a decade. Softball is a big
part in the lives of many women and taking it out of the 2012 Olympics is crushing their dreams. The
sport should be reinstated in the 2016 Olympics because the sport will die if it is not, it gives young
girls a dream, and it will greatly decrease the amount of women participating in the Olympic Games.
Softball has been in the Olympics since 1996 and now the International Olympic Committee (IOC)
has decided to take it out. Taking softball out of the Olympics cut the amount of funding to the USA

Apple Life Cycle
Apple s I Phone is a creative product that has a constant product life cycle. Each new phone that Apple
produces goes through the same process. The simple lifecycle of which I will discuss a small scope of
within this essay relating to social factors is, introduction, growth and maturity and then decline.
Social Factors that revolve around the life cycle of the I Phone are those such as trends, social media,
social reputation and the competition around you. As the I Phone is a technological advancement in
itself technology will be a main focus through the entire argument. The social factors that tie in to the
lifecycle of the I Phone relate or tie in to the technological advancements of the product. I will discuss
how the product is received and mass produced to the point where there is no longer a market and the
lifecycle ends. Marketing of a creative product is a mammoth part of the introduction of said product.
Social media is a social factor that can be accounted for, for a substantial chunk of todays marketing
of creative products. In relation to the I Phone, large hype is made through streams such as Facebook,
Twitter and Instagram. When Apple is due to, or has released their creative products many videos,
stories and photos will be shared relating to this new product. This phenomenon is causing business to
embrace the web platform and it s strengths allowing them to reach global audiences. (Graham, 2005)

so dramatic that for every man twelve women will be shared? Then what? Polygamy will maybe not

men. Another point that the author exposed is the circumstances where the wives are sick and the
husbands can t manage it or where wives are unable to have children while the husband very much
wants them . This argument represents a more logical thought, although not entirely correct in my
opinion and own personal believes. I just can t still understand why it is necessary to go get another
partner just for the benefit of a baby, when you could solve it renting a belly without resorting to
commitments with other woman. But even if it happens or not, I think that the choices of a couple are
personal choices and if the wife agrees then is her own personal choice. The other point that exposes
is the cases where a marriage has not been very successful and the husband loves another woman. The
author also express some things about when a husband need to divorce from the first wife to be with
the second wife, but the first wife doesn t want to be divorce for the secure of the marriage, for herself
and their children . Before starting to explain anything else I do think is quite understandable the
worry that a wife could have for the economical and physical securities

Foreign Direct Investment By Multinational Corporations
Developing countries lag behind the rest of the world in many aspects of life including economy,
education, and welfare. Achieving progress in any of these three areas is important in getting these
countries on par or at least closer to the standard of living present in developed nations. Numerous of
hypotheses have been posed to tackle and address these issues. This paper examines the aspect of
improving the economy and whether or not foreign direct investment by multinational corporations
would benefit developing countries. Some may argue, including the renowned artist Frida Kahlo that
foreign direct investments may actually lead to a decline in culture and exploitation. However, this
paper argues that the economy in developing countries could be significantly improved by properly
introducing foreign direct investment by multinational corporations. Foreign direct investment (FDI)
made by multinational corporations would spur the economy in developing countries which in turn
would lay the groundwork for improvements in other important aspects including education and
welfare without a decline in culture and exploitation of citizens.
Developing countries are stuck in a cycle of poverty that can t be broken from within the domestic
economy due to an insufficient supply of investment available in these countries to raise the
productivity and income levels of workers. The only way to break the cycle of poverty is through
investment from multinational corporations. FDI is an

The Mining Industry And Its Effects On The Environment
1. INTRODUCTION
The world as we know it, is continuously evolving. With an increase in population, there exists a great
deal of economic and social needs. The earth is enriched with a vast of diverse precious minerals
which play a significant role in our lives. These minerals are used in many sectors such as medicine,
construction, agriculture etc. To extract these precious minerals from the earth s crust, extensive
mining operations are carried out daily. These operations comprise drilling and blasting of ores to
attain the minerals. During these operations great harm and damage is being done on the environment.
The mining industry is by far the most influential industry with regards to setting a country s economy
in motion. Different mines extract different minerals from coal to diamond and gold. These resources
are embedded within ores which have to be drilled and blasted to be extracted. After retracting the
resources the waste rock and waste that is detached from the ore during processing, is dumped away
from the pit onto a surface waste dump which is commonly known as mine tailings. Mine tailings are
the largest mine wastes on earth and can reach several hundred meters in elevation. This type of waste
results to countless environmental effects.
Excluding water, concrete is the mostly used material on earth. It is considered as the most important
material in the Building Environment due to its extensive usage in the construction industry. Concrete
is primarily used

The Pros And Cons Of The Basel Accords
BAFI 1029
RISK MANAGEMENT ASSIGNMENT
S.VIGKNESH
S3532231
TOPIC 1
introduction
The Basel Accords is a set of regulations adhered by banks. The main goal was to help banks maintain
a minimum capital to sustain losses during a bad economy period. Also, to aid financial institutions
reduce risk while they grow and operate.
introduced in 2004, Basel II had an improved and stricter framework compared Basel I, yet during the
financial crisis it failed. The failure of Basel II regulations caused Basel III to be created. Its purpose
was to work along with Basel I and Basel III framework and regulation and concurrently provide extra
protection to banks during harsh periods by being more conservative.
subsequently, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, to keep the minimum liquidity, banks will reduce its lending services to its customers. Both
consumption and investment in the economy will be affected. GDP is the summation of government
expenditure, consumption, investment, and the difference between export and import. If both
consumption and investment are reduced, the GDP growth of an economy will be negatively affected.
In fact, a study in 2011 shows that the GDP growth would be decreased by 0.05% to 0.15% on a
medium term basis.
Conclusion
In my opinion there will always be pros and cons in regulations as there is no perfect regulation. In
order to achieve higher security, growth must be sacrificed, vice versa. This is evident in the change
from Basel II to Basel III. Basel III too has its own flaws such as relying too much on credit rating
agencies. Credit rating agencies, as proven by the subprime crisis can cause errors in their predictions.
As times goes, there will be a significant change to the current regulation to improve the flaws.
A good regulation should be able to be flexible. For instance, when the economy is safe and
flourishing, the regulation should be more relaxed and have decreased barriers for banks in terms of
the minimum requirement for capital reserves. And when the economy is floundering, a stricter
approach should be used. For example, the minimum requirements for requirement for capital reserves
should be increased.

Issues of Abortion
Abortion has became a big issue in not just the US but in pretty much everywhere
else around the globe. To some people it is a sin to do but to others they might have a
good reason to go through it but it can be just an easy way out of going through
pregnancy and raising a child. Abortion should only be legal under certain circumstances
by applying equality amongst the fetus and the mother without giving more rights to
either for example if the mother was raped ,while possibly being underage as well, if
something is wrong with her like if she was in danger of dying , or if something is wrong
with the fetus like a sever disease then the mother should have a saying if she wants to
have an abortion but if none of those reasons apply then the woman should go through
the pregnancy if it doesn t harm her.
The main problem with abortion is the fact that it has to do with a person s life
being taken away. Also there is religious reasons and religious people that are concerned
with the issue because a lot of religions do not comply with abortion being legal.
sometimes women do not want to have a or the child because they just don t care or want
to deal with the pressure of taking care or going through the pregnancy and maybe being
an under aged teenager. pro life supporters always do have to question why is this legal
but there is of course the people who support

I Want To Be A Leader In Lord Of The Flies

two leader like characters, Jack and Ralph. Ralph is a good looking young adult with a caring
personality and excellent leader skills. Jack on the other hand is rough; violent, and harsh, the only
reason he is a contender for leader is because of his popularity and him being obsessed with meat and

Ralph s group is sane and is still using a type of self government. This situation really just goes back
to the previous one about if you want to get off the island and be productive or have a good time and
party. My character would be a key contributor to the group regardless of the circumstances. He would

repairing shelters. A majority of the characters especially the ones who are obsessed with hunting
eventually turn savage or go back to using their primitive instincts. I would try as much as I could not

Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird By Horton Foote
I know when I was a little I believed most of what I was told. I believe this could be said for most
people out there. To Kill a Mockingbird by Horton Foote has some similar things going for it. Jem
Finch a 10 year old boy and his 6 year old sister Scout (also referred to as Jean Louis) experience
situations where this is very relevant. The screenplay is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932. The town
is still fairly racist, this is really shown in a court case known as the Tom Robinson case. All in all the
Theme of To Kill a Mockingbird is do not believe everything you hear.
In the beginning of the screenplay Jem and Scout meet Dill (whose real name is Charles Baker Harris)
who is a 6 year old boy that seems to stretch the truth about his father. When the three of them first
meet Dill says that he does not have a father, but moments later he changes what he means saying My
daddy owns the L and N Railroad (Foote 10). If that does not seem a little questionable towards the
middle of the screenplay he changes what he says again. Dill says ... my daddy was a railroad man
until he got rich. Now he flies airplanes (Foote 47). The whole thing with him and his dad just seems
like it is exaggerated or made up after this point. Most might think that he makes this up because he
originally says that he does not know his father. This is very probable because after Dill says what his
dad, does he almost you could say fantasizes about his dad picking him up on a train or sweeping

The Role Of The Women
The role of the women in ministry is a controversial topic that has divided Christendom today. There
are those who hold the fact that women have a right to positions in ministry while others are against
following some quotations from the word of God. Those who hold the view of women becoming
elders and preachers in churches today, protest the fact that we are all one before God. There is neither
male nor female following Galatians 3: 26 28. This is to confidently assert the fact that the sexes are
joint heirs with Christ of full salvation. Some are standing on the fact that God gave the Holy Spirit to
His children including male and female for the propagation of His kingdom (I Corinthian 12:7). From

therefore whatever pattern he gave us as pertaining leadership in the church should be strictly

for a woman to speak in church. I believe Paul made this statement due to the rampant disorder that
was going on at the Corinthian church.

Point Of Literature Essay
The point of literature
Personally, I think the point of literature is entirely subjective. Even the definition of literature can be
interpreted differently. In class just now, it was defined as written works with artistic value, which I
agree with to some extent, but then again, what does and doesn t constitute as artistically valuable is
also subjective. I feel like I m on a fast track to my history and philosophy class here, being all like
everything is subjective, nothing is real . The point, the purpose, the goal of literature can be so many
things. In earlier human evolution, the Homo Sapiens ability of more advanced communication than
that of other animals, the way we evolved to understand and communicate not only the tangible reality
of our surroundings (after all, the Neanderthal could do this too), but also perceive and deal in
hypotheticals and what s referred to as the imaginary reality the capability to believe in made up
concepts like gods, money, nations is what made us the sole surviving human species; it gave us
reasons to unite, to coexist in larger groups and eventually entire societies. Without this crucial

The Leadership Practice Of A Nursing Student
As a nursing student, I have had great success forming therapeutic relationships with my clients and
have received positive feedback from clinical instructors about my patient communication. However, I
experience uncertainty when interacting with peers or colleagues. My lack of confidence translates
into difficulty forming effective professional relationships. This assessment is reflected in my Clinical
Leadership Survey as a deficit in the leadership practice of Encouraging the Heart. This practice
includes behaviors such as recognizing contributions, celebrating accomplishments, and providing
feedback (Patrick, Laschinger, Finegan, and Wong, 2011).
The results of my baseline survey support the theory that my weakness is in interprofessional
communication. Alternatively however, I recorded equal strength of fourteen out of fifteen in the other
four leadership practices. Each of these four practices incorporates an element of Emotional
Intelligence and reflective practice. Based on my clinical experiences and feedback from instructors, I
agree with these results and can identify that interprofessional communication is the skill I must
develop to become an effective leader.
Personal Strategies Over the Term
Throughout this semester, I worked through the Unfreeze and Move stages of Lewin s Force Field
Model for change. Similar to the Assessment and Planning steps of the Nursing Process, the
Unfreezing stage occurs when the individual identifies a need for change (Kelly

How Does Inarritu Use Innovative Camera Techniques In The...
Amores Perros and City of God each have their own technique of filming its narrative that draws
viewers in immediately. Both films chose not to portray easily recognizable tourist or popular areas of
the city that would allow the audience to distinguish exactly what city the film took place in plays an
important role (Chetin, 2016). The use of innovative camera techniques utilized within both the films
have a significant impact in the films success in appealing to a global transnational audience.
Inarritu s use of handheld cameras, rapid editing, fluid camera work, and an extensive range of shots,
from extreme long shots to extreme close ups all play a role in the film s appeal. The camera
techniques assist Inarritu s attempt to not cast a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The innovative camera techniques used do not utilize the realist style that was previously associated
with films dealing with social deprivation; however, it does use identifiable genre characteristics, but
in a way that is more specific for that location (Anon, 2016). The camera angles used within City of
God create certain atmospheres and alter the meaning of a scene. The film editing creates a world and
a feeling that absorbs the audience and transports them to a place they have never been to. The
opening scene begins with a nice atmosphere of people playing music and dancing. Then it is seen
from the chicken s perspective. It watches as the knives sharpen and other chickens are being killed. It
runs away and can be seen as symbolizing Rocket s attempt to flee from the gang life. The mixture of
the camera angles builds up suspense. The variation of high and low angles accentuate the disordered
way the city is built up from different layers of houses, small shacks and streets. This scene submerges
the audience in the feeling of excitement, suspense, and fear as the chicken attempts to make its

Newton s Third Law Of Motion Research Paper
Newton s third law of motion also applied to the baseball and enhances baseball. Newton s Third Law
of Motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction . (์ฑ…) Baseball players,
especially outfielders understand this as a baseball that goes up should come down. () Newton s third
law claims that whenever an object uses force on another object, the second applies an equal and
opposite force from the first object. So, when the ball hits and reaches to the bat, the bat uses a force
on the ball that equals of the ball on the bat. Also, there is a net force on the ball due to the forces
acting on different bodies even these forces are both equal and opposite. (*) Additionally, ๋‰ดํ„ด์˜ ์šด

Also, the players hips, elbows and shoulders are working equal and opposite. They are all connected
to each other and as well as the rotational mechanics. ($) In addition, skillful players use Newton s
third law to improve their play and to calculate the time taken for a ball to be thrown by the fielder to
reach the target base. For example, Hall of Fame leadoff hitter Ricky Henderson used his velocity and
the laws of motion to hit, get on base and obtain records of 1,406 bases. ( ).To sum up, Newton s third
law of motion is applied to baseball closely and improved this sport with several physical concepts.
In conclusion, Newton s three laws of motions are applied in several parts of baseball play and this
sport has been enhanced through applications of laws of motion. A lot of skillful players are using this

The Natural Environment Must Be Restored Essay
The natural environment must be restored. Development of the world has seen the establishment and
growth of various types of industries. However, even as these industries produce many needs of the
world s societies, they have at the same time produced an incredible amount of wastes that are
polluting and harming our environment. As such, modern societies have been forced to think about
how to develop indicators to measure and handle these wastes in order to protect the environment and
ensure human wellbeing. In the crude oil industry, the degree of sulfur content is very important as it
is used to grade the crude oil a sweet crude oil is one with low sulfur content, and a sour crude oil is
one with high sulfur content. This means therefore that the crude oil industry is involved in removing
sulfur content from crude oil as sweet crude is preferred to sour crude [1].When distillate crude oil is
processed into useful products, there will be many wastes, which dissolve in water thereby producing
sour water. However, sour water consists of hazardous substances, mostly hydrogen sul๏ฌde (H2S),
therefore it must be treated prior to the discharge for reuse or disposal to the water bodies. In addition,
polluted water is fatal to benthic organisms and also causes depletion of dissolved oxygen [2]. This
has led to some industries facing problems with the current environmental protection regulations due
to high cost of petroleum wastewater disposal processes and the harmful effect on

Segovia s Appreciation
Andrรฉs Segovia is known to have brought the classical guitar from its previously low reputation. The
guitar was known for centuries as the peasants instrument; Segovia s arrangements and performance
style made this beautiful instrument into one of artistic importance on the concert stage. Some
admirers believe that Segovia left his instrument richer in technique, in repertory and in public esteem.
As a student myself, I owe my deepest gratitude to Segovia. He has left monumental arrangements,
teaching techniques, and some of the most beneficial studies for the instrument. The techniques and
the music literatures reputation is not questioned because his legacy carries on through the many
students he taught throughout his life and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Asturias (Leyenda), one of his most famous arrangements, is a part of every developed classical
guitarist, including myself. Having listened to many recordings, very few people play it like the
arranger himself. Although it is different in the first place because it was originally composed for
piano, performers often change the tempo and include, accents and robato to give the piece a very
Romantic feel. These same restrictions can be found in another piece called Torre Bermeja by Albeniz
as well. There are similar styles in the way Segovia plays both of these pieces. I believe that it is
because of Segovia not being able to be creative and open minded to the multiple ways a piece can be
played. Some flavor is lost here, as the impression the listener receives from m. 1 15 of Segovia s
recording is more of a mysterious impression rather than allegro, which only takes effect on the
introduction of the triplet motif. The effects of Segovia s alterations to articulation in the first section
become evident in the recording, but are inevitable. Although the notes on the guitar do not take off
with the effect of the same passage played on the piano, Segovia still manages to maintain a marcato

  • 2. Use Of Force In Policing In terms of police work, the use of force is an inevitable measure. According to the National Institute of Justice, Law enforcement officers should use only the amount of force necessary to mitigate an incident, make an arrest, or protect themselves or others from harm. There are also many factors that need to be taken into consideration, these include: whether or not the amount of force is justified, whether or not this officer has been properly trained, whether or not the department will be held criminally liable for the use of force, and so on. Law enforcement officers are given an incredible amount of discretion solely due to the nature of their career. They are faced with potentially life threatening situations, which require an exceptional amount of judgment. Due to these situations, officers are expected to think and act quickly, consciously, and appropriately. It seems that the use of force is a very necessary aspect of policing, however, the amount of force used should be handled with great discretion. Officers who use an excessive amount of force are more than likely to cause a community to become a negative environment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Force by an officer can range from a factor as simple as the tone of their voice to something as controversial as lethal measures. Verbal commands, which are widely considered to be non lethal force, consist of conversational orders and/or verbal threats. The National Institute of Justice states that officers claim to have used a controversial tone with over half of suspects arrested. However, if the nature of verbal contact includes shouting, threats, or cursing, it can very well be considered an element of force. More controversial aspects of force include tasers as well as ... With only two characters, Betty and Bill, common names for common people and with fine humor and critic vision, using a peculiar and functional language the author reveals in many ways how this every day activity can have a different outcome, depending in the moment, chosen words, characters mood, personality and intention. This key element to the story takes on many evil forms, but gives the story its delightful end. Early on in the story, Matthew Maule curses the Pyncheon family before his hanging, therefore inciting the supernatural role. • 11. Types Of Fogs And The Foggiest Places Types of Fogs and the Foggiest places in U.S. Fog, like any cloud, usually forms in one of two ways: (1) by cooling air is cooled below its saturation point (dew point); and (2) by evaporation and mixing water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and mixing water vapor is added to the air by evaporation, and the moist air mixes with relatively dry air. (Ahrens Samson, 2011, p. 97) Radiation Fog, (ground fog) Occurs when the radiational air temperature is below its dew point over land. The best conditions are when dry air overlay s a thin layer of humid air during a clear night. These conditions allow for cooling of the ground to happen fast due to the thin layer, humid layer does not take in much earth s departing infrared radiations. Advection fog, conditions call for hot and humid air to blow over a cool surface, since the surface cools the air. The dew point temperature has to be cool enough as the air temperature which causes condensation to form and creates a dense fog to form. As the warm air cools, the temperature will reach the dew point temperature, forcing the water vapor to condense into a cloud. (Masters, 2016) Upslope fog, this type of fog may occur on mountain tops when cold air blows up a slope known as, orographic uplift. The air condenses since it builds up moisture as the cold rises. Evaporation (mixing) fog, this type of fog forms when two unsaturated masses of air are combined. Some of the foggiest places that we can see these events ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By using a hydrogen gas collection apparatus and the principles of chemistry, we were able to evaluate the data and reach our goal. Experiment 2 1 uses zinc, magnesium and aluminum and how much hydrogen gas they produce to predict the volume of hydrogen gas produced for different masses of each metal. In this experiment we see that each metal has an increasing amount of hydrogen gas as mass goes up, however each metal had different amount of hydrogen gas for the same mass. Zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas, then increasing with magnesium, and aluminum produced the highest amount. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was an increasing trend because the metal was the limiting reactant in this experiment. The amount of each metal placed in the hydrochloric acid was fully used up before the acid was. From Figure 1, it is clear that aluminum produced the most amount of hydrogen gas, then magnesium in the middle and zinc produced the least amount of hydrogen gas. This shows that the same mass of each metal does not produce the same amount of hydrogen gas. Looking at the balanced equations for each of the metals (see lab 2 1, equation 1 and 2), it seems the metals have a similar stoichiometry, however zinc produced a lesser amount of hydrogen gas compared to magnesium because zinc has a higher molar mass than magnesium does. Due to this, more zinc is needed to produce the same amount of hydrogen gas as magnesium. When aluminum and magnesium are compared, it is seen that aluminum and magnesium have similar molar masses, however they have a different stoichiometry (experiment 2 1, equation 1 and 3). Two moles of aluminum react to produce three moles of hydrogen gas, while one mole of magnesium react to produce one mole of hydrogen gas. • 16. Explain How Far Was Lord Dishili The Architect Of The 1867... How far was Disraeli the Architect of the second reform act of 1867? It can be argued that Disraeli was the architect of reform during the late 1860 s and through 1867 reform act, mainly due to the fact that he realised that the conservative party might be seen as non reforming. To counter this he would expand the franchise and gain potential new voters. However there is also significant evidence that Lord Derby was the main architect of reform, mostly due to the fact that he had been part of the 1832 reform bill and when he returned to power in 1866 he took the lead in presenting the conservative reform bill. One reason, which shows that Disraeli was the Architect of the Second Reform Bill 1867, is that Disraeli wanted to consolidate his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also says that Derby is not in favour of resisting reform... there is a genuine demand , this shows that Derby was supporting reform as he saw the national push and demand for reform which he believed could strengthen the Tory party. The letter came after pressure for reform increased after attempts by liberals to deal with the issue in 1866, however Disraeli was reluctant to deal with it. Due to Disraeli being reluctant to deal with the pressure for reform, it shows that he was not as supportive of reform as Derby, thus it could be said that Derby was the main architect of reform. Source 8 also supports the idea that Derby was the main architect of reform. It explains that when Derby and Disraeli returned to power in 1866, it was Derby who took the lead in proposing a conservative reform bill . Derby had previously helped to draft the 1832 reform bill 34 years earlier and he steered the 1867 measure through the Lords and held the conservative party in unity with his one aim to place the Tory party permanently in power. • 22. Forensic Dentistry Essay DNA in Forensic Dentistry Human identification has relied hugely on forensic dentistry. Forensic experts frequently require ante mortem samples, such as dental records and compares them with post mortem samples to carry on the identification. However, this documentation (i.e. DNA profiling) may be unavailable or incomplete in various situations. At present, with the application of molecular techniques for human identification, it is possible to identify a person using small amounts of deteriorated and degraded biological material, i.e. DNA. This could be easily demonstrated after the tsunami in South Asia, on December 26th 2004, when various techniques like forensic dentistry, forensic pathology, DNA profiling and fingerprinting were used for human identification. Although 99% of bodies were identified, only 1% of identification could be based on DNA profiling. Exogenous factors like fire, heat and explosions may limit the retrieval of DNA from body remnants thereby limiting the processes of human identification. With an increase in population, there exists a great deal of economic and social needs. The earth is enriched with a vast of diverse precious minerals which play a significant role in our lives. These minerals are used in many sectors such as medicine, construction, agriculture etc. To extract these precious minerals from the earth s crust, extensive mining operations are carried out daily. These operations comprise drilling and blasting of ores to attain the minerals. During these operations great harm and damage is being done on the environment. The mining industry is by far the most influential industry with regards to setting a country s economy in motion. Different mines extract different minerals from coal to diamond and gold. These resources are embedded within ores which have to be drilled and blasted to be extracted. After retracting the resources the waste rock and waste that is detached from the ore during processing, is dumped away from the pit onto a surface waste dump which is commonly known as mine tailings. Mine tailings are the largest mine wastes on earth and can reach several hundred meters in elevation. This type of waste results to countless environmental effects. The main goal was to help banks maintain a minimum capital to sustain losses during a bad economy period. Also, to aid financial institutions reduce risk while they grow and operate. introduced in 2004, Basel II had an improved and stricter framework compared Basel I, yet during the financial crisis it failed. The failure of Basel II regulations caused Basel III to be created. Its purpose was to work along with Basel I and Basel III framework and regulation and concurrently provide extra protection to banks during harsh periods by being more conservative. subsequently, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, to keep the minimum liquidity, banks will reduce its lending services to its customers. Both consumption and investment in the economy will be affected. GDP is the summation of government expenditure, consumption, investment, and the difference between export and import. If both consumption and investment are reduced, the GDP growth of an economy will be negatively affected. In fact, a study in 2011 shows that the GDP growth would be decreased by 0.05% to 0.15% on a medium term basis. Conclusion In my opinion there will always be pros and cons in regulations as there is no perfect regulation. In order to achieve higher security, growth must be sacrificed, vice versa. This is evident in the change from Basel II to Basel III. Basel III too has its own flaws such as relying too much on credit rating agencies. Credit rating agencies, as proven by the subprime crisis can cause errors in their predictions. As times goes, there will be a significant change to the current regulation to improve the flaws. A good regulation should be able to be flexible. For instance, when the economy is safe and flourishing, the regulation should be more relaxed and have decreased barriers for banks in terms of the minimum requirement for capital reserves. Abortion should only be legal under certain circumstances by applying equality amongst the fetus and the mother without giving more rights to either for example if the mother was raped ,while possibly being underage as well, if something is wrong with her like if she was in danger of dying , or if something is wrong with the fetus like a sever disease then the mother should have a saying if she wants to have an abortion but if none of those reasons apply then the woman should go through the pregnancy if it doesn t harm her. The main problem with abortion is the fact that it has to do with a person s life being taken away. To Kill a Mockingbird by Horton Foote has some similar things going for it. Jem Finch a 10 year old boy and his 6 year old sister Scout (also referred to as Jean Louis) experience situations where this is very relevant. The screenplay is set in Maycomb, Alabama in 1932. When the three of them first meet Dill says that he does not have a father, but moments later he changes what he means saying My daddy owns the L and N Railroad (Foote 10). If that does not seem a little questionable towards the middle of the screenplay he changes what he says again. Dill says ... my daddy was a railroad man until he got rich. Now he flies airplanes (Foote 47). The whole thing with him and his dad just seems like it is exaggerated or made up after this point. • 44. The Leadership Practice Of A Nursing Student As a nursing student, I have had great success forming therapeutic relationships with my clients and have received positive feedback from clinical instructors about my patient communication. However, I experience uncertainty when interacting with peers or colleagues. My lack of confidence translates into difficulty forming effective professional relationships. This assessment is reflected in my Clinical Leadership Survey as a deficit in the leadership practice of Encouraging the Heart. This practice includes behaviors such as recognizing contributions, celebrating accomplishments, and providing feedback (Patrick, Laschinger, Finegan, and Wong, 2011). The results of my baseline survey support the theory that my weakness is in interprofessional communication. Alternatively however, I recorded equal strength of fourteen out of fifteen in the other four leadership practices. Each of these four practices incorporates an element of Emotional Intelligence and reflective practice. Based on my clinical experiences and feedback from instructors, I agree with these results and can identify that interprofessional communication is the skill I must develop to become an effective leader. Personal Strategies Over the Term Throughout this semester, I worked through the Unfreeze and Move stages of Lewin s Force Field Model for change. Similar to the Assessment and Planning steps of the Nursing Process, the Unfreezing stage occurs when the individual identifies a need for change (Kelly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both films chose not to portray easily recognizable tourist or popular areas of the city that would allow the audience to distinguish exactly what city the film took place in plays an important role (Chetin, 2016). The use of innovative camera techniques utilized within both the films have a significant impact in the films success in appealing to a global transnational audience. Inarritu s use of handheld cameras, rapid editing, fluid camera work, and an extensive range of shots, from extreme long shots to extreme close ups all play a role in the film s appeal. The innovative camera techniques used do not utilize the realist style that was previously associated with films dealing with social deprivation; however, it does use identifiable genre characteristics, but in a way that is more specific for that location (Anon, 2016). The camera angles used within City of God create certain atmospheres and alter the meaning of a scene. The film editing creates a world and a feeling that absorbs the audience and transports them to a place they have never been to. The opening scene begins with a nice atmosphere of people playing music and dancing. Then it is seen from the chicken s perspective. It watches as the knives sharpen and other chickens are being killed. It runs away and can be seen as symbolizing Rocket s attempt to flee from the gang life. The mixture of the camera angles builds up suspense. The variation of high and low angles accentuate the disordered way the city is built up from different layers of houses, small shacks and streets. • 46. Newton s Third Law Of Motion Research Paper Newton s third law of motion also applied to the baseball and enhances baseball. Newton s Third Law of Motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction . (์ฑ…) Baseball players, especially outfielders understand this as a baseball that goes up should come down. () Newton s third law claims that whenever an object uses force on another object, the second applies an equal and opposite force from the first object. So, when the ball hits and reaches to the bat, the bat uses a force on the ball that equals of the ball on the bat. Also, there is a net force on the ball due to the forces acting on different bodies even these forces are both equal and opposite. • 47. The Natural Environment Must Be Restored Essay The natural environment must be restored. Development of the world has seen the establishment and growth of various types of industries. However, even as these industries produce many needs of the world s societies, they have at the same time produced an incredible amount of wastes that are polluting and harming our environment. As such, modern societies have been forced to think about how to develop indicators to measure and handle these wastes in order to protect the environment and ensure human wellbeing. In the crude oil industry, the degree of sulfur content is very important as it is used to grade the crude oil a sweet crude oil is one with low sulfur content, and a sour crude oil is one with high sulfur content. This means therefore that the crude oil industry is involved in removing sulfur content from crude oil as sweet crude is preferred to sour crude [1].When distillate crude oil is processed into useful products, there will be many wastes, which dissolve in water thereby producing sour water. However, sour water consists of hazardous substances, mostly hydrogen sul๏ฌde (H2S), therefore it must be treated prior to the discharge for reuse or disposal to the water bodies. In addition, polluted water is fatal to benthic organisms and also causes depletion of dissolved oxygen [2]. This has led to some industries facing problems with the current environmental protection regulations due to high cost of petroleum wastewater disposal processes and the harmful effect on ... The guitar was known for centuries as the peasants instrument; Segovia s arrangements and performance style made this beautiful instrument into one of artistic importance on the concert stage. Some admirers believe that Segovia left his instrument richer in technique, in repertory and in public esteem. As a student myself, I owe my deepest gratitude to Segovia. He has left monumental arrangements, teaching techniques, and some of the most beneficial studies for the instrument. Having listened to many recordings, very few people play it like the arranger himself. Although it is different in the first place because it was originally composed for piano, performers often change the tempo and include, accents and robato to give the piece a very Romantic feel. These same restrictions can be found in another piece called Torre Bermeja by Albeniz as well. There are similar styles in the way Segovia plays both of these pieces. I believe that it is because of Segovia not being able to be creative and open minded to the multiple ways a piece can be played. Some flavor is lost here, as the impression the listener receives from m. 1 15 of Segovia s recording is more of a mysterious impression rather than allegro, which only takes effect on the introduction of the triplet motif. The effects of Segovia s alterations to articulation in the first section become evident in the recording, but are inevitable. Although the notes on the guitar do not take off with the effect of the same passage played on the piano, Segovia still manages to maintain a marcato ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
