How Did John Marshall Influence His Government
Background: Born on September 24, 1755 in Virginia, John Marshall started his life pursuing the
practice of law and held multiple political positions throughout his life. He was a lieutenant and later
captain of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. After 1781, Marshall left his military
position to pursue law. Even though his formal training was short lived, Marshall began his law career
in the 1780s. He became a member of the Virginia House of Delegates in the early 1780s. In the
Virginia Convention, he wanted to disband the Articles of Confederation and acted in favor of the
newly proposed U.S. Constitution in 1788. He declined offers to become an attorney general under
Washington in 1795 and Minister of of France in 1796. He also declined a membership as a part of the
U.S. Supreme Court in 1798, as he still focused on his private practice. During his era, the prominence
of the Federalists arose. As the Federalist Party strengthened in the 1790s, as did its opposers, John
Marshall became a key leader for the party. The Federalists believed in a strong central government ...

His views on the a centralized power was not only crucial in the ratification of the U.S. Constitution,
but also the ultimate change in the role of government during his time. While the Federalist Party
started to fall apart in the early 1800s, John Marshall s implementations were significant in upholding
the beliefs in strong federal power in the decades to follow. Cases implemented in the Marshall Court
from 1801 to 1835 became a major aspect of U.S. history in enhancing federal powers and limiting the
power of states. These cases ultimately helped promote business and the economy. Increasing the

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Traditional And...
Since 1949, mainland China has promoted the use of simplified characters instead of the original
traditional characterscite{wangjun}. This issue has been circulated through the ages. In recent years,
however, there is an increasingly fierce debate whether we should return to the traditional characters.
In fact, both the traditional and simplified characters have merits and drawbacks. However, using
simplified characters is more practical, efficient and effective and contributes to the social stability
and development. As a result, the government should widen the use of simplified characters. Firstly,
simplified characters make it more convenient for the majority of people to get educated. This is
because the number of the strokes of simplified

Imperialism In Africa
Imperialism was a time of new inventions, technology, and many other things. Imperialism had many
positive things like, transportation, spread of technology, and an increase in education. Because of
Imperialism transportation became a thing. Also communication with other foreign countries became a
thing. Then there was an increase in education too. Without imperialism transportation would not be a
thing. One example is railroads, railroads are used for transporting people to and from their
destinations. Another example are steamboats, without steamboats people would never be able to
transport their goods to and from. People will say but slaves made these railroads. Well without
transportation everyone would have to walk to every single place we wanted to go. Because of
imperialism spread of languages around the world started to happen. An example of this is that now
tribes can communicate with other foreign countries, this is good because now we can understand
tribes and what they are trying to say to us. Also other foreign countries can communicate with each
other, like africans can now learn and speak english because a lot of Africa s land in taken over by
great britain. A very good thing about the spread of languages is that we can learn new languages
ourselves and speak to the countries we have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

lazy job it will be a fairly good job. This is because you have met all of your requirements to get the

Summary Of Coyote Vs Acme
Ian Frazier s Coyote vs. Acme is a referential analysis on Wile E. Coyote and he s lawsuit against the
Acme Company. Mr. Coyote is seeking compensation for the damages and injuries that the Acme
Company has had effect on him. Along with this being referential it is also persuasive that has
evaluation and narration of event. Frazier s primary purpose is referential in this piece because in
Coyote vs Acme he is explaining the topic using facts given by the Plaintiff. The evidence is
consistent and the facts are sound and are clearly visible. In the beginning he talks about how Mr.

with the Plaintiff against Acme products by giving more examples of the faulty equipment like the

the target. Once again the equipment fails, the twin springs recoiled, bringing Mr. Coyote hung to a
violent feet first collision with the boulder, the full weight of his head and forequarters falling upon his
lower extremities. This is to show the court that all of Acme products have shown to fail and should

Zizek on Ideology and the Relationship Between Ideology and The Real
Slavoj Zizek is one of the leading theorists on ideology since the 1990 s and his conceptions of the
real versus the symbolic versus the imagined are of particular importance when dissecting the question
what is ideology? Zizek s critique of ideology and attempt to unpack it s inner workings is fascinating,
he is a powerful intellectual who aims to expose the fake workings of society. In this paper I will
outline Zizek s definition and approach to the study of ideology, paying particular attention to the
relationships he draws between ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ideology is a system, he argues, of principles, views, theories destined to convince us of its truth , yet
actually serving some unavowed particular power interest (p.10). An example Zizek presents to
illustrate this point is the way media portrayed the conflict and cause of the Bosnian war. News
coverage consisted of innumerable accounts of the histories of not only Yugoslavia but the entire
history of the Balkan s from medieval times (p.5). This incredible amount of information, of the
struggles and relations between Bosnia and other countries over decades, if not centuries, gives
audiences the impression that they must know and understand all the background information of this
issue if they are to have an opinion on it or take sides, again presenting countless hours of information
and debate on the issue. Zizek explains that although this is a sort of inversion of what we normally
constitute as ideological messaging, and it is unlike the misrepresentation and incessant demonization
of Saddam Hussein which was circulated to give justice to entering into the Iraq war, the Bosnian war
ideological messaging that took place is in fact more cunning, the over exaggerated and false
demonization of Saddam Hussein. because to put it somewhat crudely, the evocation of the
complexity of circumstances serves

Support Group Approach
3 The type of group approach that I would propose The type of group approach I would propose for
this population is a support group. Support groups are an important part of the approach used in
helping the bereaved suffering from grief and loss. An important goal of the support group is to use
mutual aid to help participants understand and accept themselves as they are (Raby,R 2010). . Mutual
aid is sometimes used in a support group to help participants share resources for mutual benefit.
Understanding and acceptance are the first steps towards self help in a group. Support groups have an
overlapping element that includes a therapeutic effect (Wayne Cohen 2001). For example, participants
may help each other understand why an event

My Experience At Arizona State University, Everything Is...
This is the first year that I been study at Arizona State University, everything is new for me. After
learned ENG194, I truly learned a lot about how to write a good essay, how to write a good email,
how to take an interview with other, how to take the team presentation, how to apply a job. All the
knowledge from this class are very useful.
In the first project, I knew how to write a professional email. Actually, I never use email in my high
school, so I did not know how to write an email. Before the class, I just use the way that how to write
a mail to write an email to my professors. The text and the Messenger are very popular in our life. But

opening and closing. Writing Dear Professor in the beginning, and writing Thanks in the end. It is just
the rule of the email, and we need to say dear even if the recipient is a old man. On the other hand, the
language choose in text is unlimited. The abbreviations are very common in text, because it is more
convenience. But we cannot use ASAP in official email, whatever Professors understand it means as
soon as possible or not.
The second project was the very difficult assignment for me. I need to make an interview with others.
There is no doubt that I never made an interview before. When I was a junior school student, I always
made some trouble. Once I played a very dangerous game that upthrow other students. My teacher

American Dream A Biological Impossibility, Neuroscientist...
The American dream has lurked over its people with open, forgiving, and promising arms. It served as
a beacon for all who wanted to escape their indigenous lives, and seek refuge in a place where
opportunity and hope ran rampant. The beacon that was once brightly lit for the world and its
inhabitants to gaze in awe at, has since been dimmed by the very people that kneel beneath it. Their
absolute, immediate fulfillment of this dream damaged one of the internal foundations that made the
country as strong and powerful as it is. More specifically, the American dream has provided
Americans with a set of ideals that effectively led to an overarching usage of credit cards, which, in a
broad view, deeply harms the nation s economy, simply because those ideals are no longer biologically
possible, as according to WIRED s article, American Dream a Biological Impossibility, Neuroscientist

achieving their aims and objectives. I will be analysing the various ways the company attempt to
promote their products and service. In order to do so I will be discussing their advertising methods,
how staff interact with customers on a one one basis and how the corporation promote sales of their
products. Furthermore, I will be considering how the aforementioned company deal with public
relations and the advantages of doing so. Finally, I plan to assess how and why the company use direct
marketing as well as sponsorships and endorsements.

In all of Pizza Hut s restaurants, members of staff are there to encourage the average consumer to
spend more money; this is often achieved by asking a series of questions I.e. Would you like any side
orders? or Would you like to see the dessert menu? In every Pizza Hut store the cashiers and sales
assistants are specifically trained to strongly persuade customers to purchase add on items at the till,
these include products such as garlic breads or extra drinks.
Another way in which they achieve this sense of personal selling is via the phone. After the customer
has completed their order, the sales assistant will then begin trying to sell additional goods. I believe
that the advantage of personal selling is the fact that people are more easily persuaded when interacted
with other humans. Scientific studies show that being able to see a person s body language allows
them to relax and be convinced a lot easier. A consumer website goes on to elaborate that in most
cases Personal selling has a superior impact on consumers than direct mail or other forms of
advertising... In terms of improvements, I would suggest that in order to increase sales, I feel that the
company should offer free extras if customers exceed a minimum spend of £25.00.
Sales Promotion
This section of the report is fairly self explanatory, sales promotion is about how the company raises

are unavoidable when pursuing information. This is visible in every experiment, historical event,

Abstract
Many studies and observations on job satisfaction as it relates to age is well known and continues to
be a rising trend in today s society. Job satisfaction is the contentment an individual feels while
working .There are so many effects and leading causes of satisfaction while working. This paper looks
into causes and effects within working college students and how to avoid job dissatisfaction while
attending college. While age may play a role in job satisfaction during college attendance, each
individual student handles working and studying differently. Maintaining positive job satisfaction

with low blood sugar and digestive problems. If it wasn t for the nurses and the doctors my baby
brother wouldn t have grown up as healthy as he did. I plan to after earning one of those degrees go

Closing Ceremony. The stadium was built to host the winter Olympic and the winter Paralympics. The
construction cost $45 million and taking 18 months to construct, costing the Eccles family and
sponsors $1000 per seat. The stadium has also been used as concert venues for the Rolling Stones,
NSYNC, and U2. Utah Utes fans don t know about the expansion plans and the cost of the plans.
Dave Wakefield, the Guest Services Manager at the University of Utah, joked around on how U2 were
difficult to work with because of their neediness. Wakefield granted a private tour the Specialty
Journalism class of Rice Eccles Stadium. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here s an insider, the university oversell seats by 1000, as long as it doesn t violate any laws and as
long as fire marshal allows it. The past few years the stadium has gone through several upgrades to
improve sells and provide a better experience for students and patrons. The University of Utah spent
$3.3 million upgrading men s bathroom, also spending $35,000 to install a new and improved water
fountains after fans complained that vendors were blocking the water fountains. There is a plan to
replace the current scoreboard with a scoreboard that is 4 times bigger, by next football season. The
estimated cost would be $13 million; there are also rumors of expanding the south side of the stadium
still keeping the original lockers from the Rice stadium. With the expansion, the U shape stadium
would be closed adding 20,000

Comparing Doerr s Obsession With Birds
Both Anthony Doerr s All the Light We Cannot See and Emily Dickinson s Hope is the the thing with
feathers make use of bird imagery. Doerr s novel follows the parallel lives of a blind French girl and a
young German boy, as their lives intertwine as World War Two unfolds around them. Frederick, a
character in All the Light We Cannot See, exhibits an obsession with birds, which reflects his desire
for freedom. His desire is never satisfied, as his character meets a restricting, dismal future. The
speaker in Hope is the the thing with feathers describes the bird s attributes, which are parallel to that
of hope. Doerr and Dickinson both utilize birds as symbols, but each for dissimilar concepts. Doerr

imperturbable in the face of adversity. [S]ore must be the storm / That could abash the little Bird ,

accepted by those who need it. Another purpose that birds serve in relation to hope, is constantly being
present within people. Birds [perch] in the soul... / And never [stop] at all ( Hope 1,4). They are

This theory explains that a pain modulating system exists with a neutral gate in the cord that can open
and close leading to modulation of the pain gate. Proposing that physical, emotional and mental
conditions are responsible for closing and opening the gate, found in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord.
Moreover, it helps to explain the relationship between thoughts and emotions in modifying the
perception of pain, why actions such as music, imagery, and distraction help to relieve it. For example,
understanding that the gate may be opened by bodily injury, anxiety, and depression. The gate may be
closed by analgesia, good mood, and distraction. Therefore by administering analgesia to a patient, the
pain gate can be closed and by using music and relaxation activities. In the authors clinical area a day

The Importance Of Solidarity Among Borders
The idea of Sanctuary City is pleasant however achieving the goal to become one is difficult to
accomplish. Solidarity Among Borders proves to tackle the issues relating to the detainment and
oppression of undocumented workers and refugees or those who don t have a full status (citizenship or
permanent residence) from law enforcement. Ever since Montreal has declared themselves a sanctuary
city, they have been following closely and have found that the declaration does not match up with the
actions of the city and law enforcement. There is one particular response made by Solidarity Across
Borders which explains what needs to be put in place for Montreal to better accommodate
undocumented immigrants and refugees. They explain how the declaration implies that the city of
Montreal needs to have non cooperation with the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) in order
to defend and protect those who are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other community organizations have joined in to establish the ground rules of a Solidarity City. This
includes to never ask for information regarding immigration status, treat all information regarding
other people s immigration status as strictly confidential, and never share it with government agencies

the importance of the city working together with organizations he explains that If more than sixty
Montreal community organizations have already agreed to not cooperate with the CBSA, then a
genuine Sanctuary or Solidarity City in Montreal must do the same, including barring border agents
from all City premises (Solidarity Across Borders). What he says about the declaration is quite
important because he explains that there is a lack of clarity to what this means. A situation with a
certain undocumented man named David is at risk of deportation, because he missed his deportation,

Essay The Gospel of Mark
INTRODUCTION
At the risk of being judgmental this book is very complicated. The points are many and varied. In his
lead up to his commentary proper Myers makes many points as he expounds the many topics that
would influence that commentary. The World of Jesus and the World of Mark, the filters and models
of that social world, the cross cultural history and the socio economic tensions of both worlds are all
considered. The Jewish War is also a point to consider in that it occurs around the time of writing and
most of the historicity comes from the works of Josephus. The major point to consider however is
Myers self confessed socio historical hermeneutic.
Because there are two parts to this essay discussion has been restricted to ... Show more content on

The hypotheses on how this Gospel originated are many and varied. The continuity of the actual
message of the story of the life of Jesus seems, it would be generally agreed, to hinge on the Gospel of
Mark being a source for the other Synoptic gospels at least. Much argument has also gone on about
the place and time of writing of Mark and how this influences the traditioning or the handing on of the
story. How the original written version came to be from the oral process is also a cause for the concern
as regards continuity of the story. Was it faithfully translated?
Nineham states that Jesus very character was determined by the particular circumstances in which the
tradition was handed down. Those who kept it shaped the tradition itself. They had their own motives
and beliefs and these have influenced the tradition that has brought out the character of Jesus as we
know today (Nineham 1986: 21).
This traditioning was a process that began by orally recounting the story at private or public
gatherings. The public gatherings being more favoured because preachers or teachers, that is those
entrusted with the traditioning process, would have told the story at worship or catechumen gatherings
(Nineham 1986: 22).
As is sometimes the practice with preaching today so it may have been in the first century. Anyone
telling the story would be driven by a particular need of the time, for example if a message on good
neighbours was needed then the

Review Of Liam O Flaherty s The Sniper
Liam O Flaherty wrote short stories and was a leader in the Irish literary renaissance (Biography.com
Editors, n/a). After two mental breakdowns, it became obvious that O Flaherty was mentally ill. The
mental illness was believed to have come from an injury received while enlisted in the Irish Guards.
Once the war had ended, O Flarherty moved to the U.S. and lived in Hollywood for a brief time.
While his stories have common themes of Ireland and nature, some of his best works were written in
Irish (Bloomsburry Publishing Plc, n/a). According to Michael J. Cummings (2007) Liam s The Sniper
is set in 1922, in Dublin, which is Ireland s largest city, after the Irish Free State had been established,
and during a civil war. O Flaherty wrote

Physical Ability Tests For Industrial And Organizational...
Physical ability tests will commonly use various tasks or exercises requiring physical ability in order
to test performance (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology [SIOP], 2016). An
assessment of physical ability may be necessary for some jobs, and the relation between physical
ability and job performance is of particular interest. For example, a police officer or firefighter that has
limited mobility may find it difficult to perform basic tasks required of the job. Firefighters have to
carry heavy equipment, and sometimes people, in situations that can be quite hazardous, such as a
burning building. Police often are required to actively pursue, defend, and/or apprehend fleeing
suspects (Cohen, Swerdlik, Sturman, 2013). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would also have the added benefit of preventing or minimizing risk of injury to employees or
others, save on medical costs, and workers compensation costs. Another major advantage of physical
ability tests is that they are not influenced by any attempt of the test taker to fake a response or try to
use impression management (SIOP, 2016). Slide 4 Limitations As with most tests, along with the
many advantages, there are also limitations to physical ability tests. These are important to know since
knowledge of them may help to mitigate their impact when testing for physical ability. Physical ability
tests are generally more apt to display different results based on gender than most other types of tests
(SIOP, 2016). This will be discussed in more detail a little later in the presentations. A possible
limitation with physical ability tests is that issues may occur in employee selection if the test is used to
diagnose medical conditions, rather than just actual ability to perform a job related task (SIOP, 2016).
This is true of most tests though, since how a test is used is usually as important as choosing the right
test. Some physical ability tests can be relatively expensive, depending on the type, and may require
certain kinds of equipment or tools, as well as proper administration of the test (SIOP, 2016). These
types of tests can also require

How Did The Bible Influence British Literature
The KJV Bible is a book making book. The Bible has served for many purposes over the centuries and
holds so many genres in just one book. The Bible is very interesting because it we could fully
comprehend what was being taught. That s why the KJV Bible has had a tremendous effect on British
Literature throughout the centuries because not only did the Bible help to shape the English speaking
language but also has helped very famous British writers to use examples from the bible to help relate
to their topics in which they write upon. One of the most significant sources known as the KJV helped
shape the most common language known to man which is the English speaking language. The King
James Bible was a landmark in the history of the English language. The influence of this work has
been incalculable (Mcgrath 1). Literary scholars have heaped praise upon it (Mcgrath 1). Without the
Bible, the culture of the English speaking world would have been immeasurably improvised (Mcgrath
2). Until the Bible was translated, many English speaking Christians had to rely on their clergy to tell
them about such things (Mcgrath 2). Many learned biblical passages by heart, and found that their
written and spoken English was shaped by the language and imagery of this Bible, without this Bible,
there would have been no paradise lost, no pilgrim s progress, no Handel s Messiah, no Negro
spirituals, and no Gettysburg address. (Mcgrath 2). The King James Bible became part of the everyday

Analysis Of Revolutionary Mothers
Revolutionary Mothers Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America s Independence.
By Carol Berkin. 2005. P. 194. As we study the Revolutionary War we tend to think of the men that

In Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America s Independence, we get a chance to see
the women s side of the war and what they did during this troubling time. Carol Berkin shows us what
each race and class of women went through and their contributions during the war with well
researched information and her own techniques. Revolutionary Mothers is a historical non fiction

The writing of Revolutionary Mothers requires many sources to help emphasize the importance of its
content, and Carol Berkin did just that. When reading Revolutionary Mothers you begin to see quotes
and references from many sources included in each chapter. The sources that Carol Berkin used to
write the book include journals, diaries, articles and newspapers, letters, and other books. These
sources are about both women in during the colonial and Revolutionary times and the Revolutionary
war in general. Carol Berkin did an exquisite job researching for her book, often citing at least twelve
reliable sources for each chapter. Though she used many sources for writing her book, she did not use
very many maps or pictures. She placed an illustration, depicting each topic, at the beginning of every
chapter, with no maps, pictures, or other illustrations. Although she used few pictures or maps, she
captured the reader s imagination by her depictive descriptions making her book seem to be a short
historical fiction novel telling the journeys that different women took in the Revolutionary War era,
making it unnecessary to use abundance of pictures, maps, or illustrations. Carol Berkin s experience
of writing and knowledge of history show through writing in Revolutionary Mothers. Berkin has been
the author and editor of many

Individualism In Emerson s Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo...
In Ralph Waldo Emerson s article titled Self Reliance which is full of aphorisms, he identifies
individualism as the first and foremost trait an ideal person ought to have. Individualism is the
embodiment of one s inalienable right to think for yourself rather than accepting other people s
opinion or idea. Emerson prefers individual experience over knowledge acquired from books. To
believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius (Emerson 3).
Another trait according to Emerson is trust yourself or thyself, and not be dependent on others
wisdoms for doing so is an unmanly, without vision or optimism. A person who trusts himself displays
imagination and is childlike (i.e. naïve). Great men have always done so, and confided themselves
childlike classical myth to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely
trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being
(Emerson 3). Furthermore, Emerson considered maturing as a form of trait. Maturing, gives one the
ability to resist the pressure to conform to societies norms which includes rejecting self reliance or
individualism. The nonconformist would repudiate many of society s moral beliefs. For instance,
Emerson claimed that an abolitionist ought to be more concerned with his own family and community
than about black folk far away and he condemns charity donors to the poor. Emerson said, Whoso
would be a man, must be a non conformist (5). Emerson was so passionate about the trait of
nonconformity or maturing that he took an extreme position. No law can be sacred to me but that of
my nature. Good and bad are but names very readily transferable to that or this; the only right is what
is after my constitution, the only wrong what is against it (Emerson 5). Other forms of traits include
self worth and virtue. The necessary ingredients for Self Reliance are integrity, be misunderstood,
consistency, intuition and spontaneity, and be truthfulness. To be self reliance, individuals according to
Emerson must trust thyself. Self Reliance is important for society in several ways: it teaches the
essence of hard work and

The Epidemiology Of Autoimmune Diseases
Introduction
Scientists who research the epidemiology of autoimmune diseases have experienced many
complications in their work. In a field where one plus one rarely equals two, researchers have been
work fervently to determine which cell types are responsible for, or at least involved in, autoimmune
dysfunction. The main subject of study by Esposito et al. is the deleterious effects of chronic
activation of proinflammatory cytokines. To this end, this team has sought to characterize and quantify
the cells found in various loci in mice plagued with relapsing remitting experimental autoimmune
encephalomyelitis (RR EAE), an induce murine model of human multiple sclerosis (MS). Another
question of paramount importance is how to elucidate the mechanisms of these cells and their specific
cell markers. For example, are certain cells present only in the target organ? Or did these cells migrate
to that location? Or were there sequential stages of differentiation that occurred? Or is it a combination
of the aforementioned postulates? The authors of this paper reference 33 previous studies; 26 of which
focus on T cells. This underscores the significance of this project. Autoimmune diseases have affected
the lives of people around the world, regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic status. The Clinical
Neuroimmunology Unit in Italy based some elements of their experiment on work performed by other
laboratories. However, in addition to considering the results from other

How Did John Marshall Influence His Government Background: Born on September 24, 1755 in Virginia, John Marshall started his life pursuing the practice of law and held multiple political positions throughout his life. He was a lieutenant and later captain of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. After 1781, Marshall left his military position to pursue law. An example Zizek presents to illustrate this point is the way media portrayed the conflict and cause of the Bosnian war. News coverage consisted of innumerable accounts of the histories of not only Yugoslavia but the entire history of the Balkan s from medieval times (p.5). This incredible amount of information, of the struggles and relations between Bosnia and other countries over decades, if not centuries, gives audiences the impression that they must know and understand all the background information of this issue if they are to have an opinion on it or take sides, again presenting countless hours of information and debate on the issue. • 11. American Dream A Biological Impossibility, Neuroscientist... The American dream has lurked over its people with open, forgiving, and promising arms. It served as a beacon for all who wanted to escape their indigenous lives, and seek refuge in a place where opportunity and hope ran rampant. The beacon that was once brightly lit for the world and its inhabitants to gaze in awe at, has since been dimmed by the very people that kneel beneath it. Their absolute, immediate fulfillment of this dream damaged one of the internal foundations that made the country as strong and powerful as it is. More specifically, the American dream has provided Americans with a set of ideals that effectively led to an overarching usage of credit cards, which, in a broad view, deeply harms the nation s economy, simply because those ideals are no longer biologically possible, as according to WIRED s article, American Dream a Biological Impossibility, Neuroscientist Says by Brandon Keim. In all of Pizza Hut s restaurants, members of staff are there to encourage the average consumer to spend more money; this is often achieved by asking a series of questions I.e. Would you like any side orders? or Would you like to see the dessert menu? In every Pizza Hut store the cashiers and sales assistants are specifically trained to strongly persuade customers to purchase add on items at the till, these include products such as garlic breads or extra drinks. Another way in which they achieve this sense of personal selling is via the phone. After the customer has completed their order, the sales assistant will then begin trying to sell additional goods. I believe that the advantage of personal selling is the fact that people are more easily persuaded when interacted with other humans. Scientific studies show that being able to see a person s body language allows them to relax and be convinced a lot easier. A consumer website goes on to elaborate that in most cases Personal selling has a superior impact on consumers than direct mail or other forms of advertising... Much argument has also gone on about the place and time of writing of Mark and how this influences the traditioning or the handing on of the story. How the original written version came to be from the oral process is also a cause for the concern as regards continuity of the story. Was it faithfully translated? Nineham states that Jesus very character was determined by the particular circumstances in which the tradition was handed down. Those who kept it shaped the tradition itself. They had their own motives and beliefs and these have influenced the tradition that has brought out the character of Jesus as we know today (Nineham 1986: 21). This traditioning was a process that began by orally recounting the story at private or public gatherings. Physical ability tests will commonly use various tasks or exercises requiring physical ability in order to test performance (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology [SIOP], 2016). For example, a police officer or firefighter that has limited mobility may find it difficult to perform basic tasks required of the job. Slide 4 Limitations As with most tests, along with the many advantages, there are also limitations to physical ability tests. • 31. Individualism In Emerson s Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo... In Ralph Waldo Emerson s article titled Self Reliance which is full of aphorisms, he identifies individualism as the first and foremost trait an ideal person ought to have. Individualism is the embodiment of one s inalienable right to think for yourself rather than accepting other people s opinion or idea. Emerson prefers individual experience over knowledge acquired from books. To believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius (Emerson 3). Another trait according to Emerson is trust yourself or thyself, and not be dependent on others wisdoms for doing so is an unmanly, without vision or optimism. A person who trusts himself displays imagination and is childlike (i.e. naïve). Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike classical myth to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being (Emerson 3). Furthermore, Emerson considered maturing as a form of trait. Maturing, gives one the ability to resist the pressure to conform to societies norms which includes rejecting self reliance or individualism. The nonconformist would repudiate many of society s moral beliefs. For instance, Emerson claimed that an abolitionist ought to be more concerned with his own family and community than about black folk far away and he condemns charity donors to the poor. Emerson said, Whoso would be a man, must be a non conformist (5). Emerson was so passionate about the trait of nonconformity or maturing that he took an extreme position. No law can be sacred to me but that of my nature. Good and bad are but names very readily transferable to that or this; the only right is what is after my constitution, the only wrong what is against it (Emerson 5). Other forms of traits include self worth and virtue. The necessary ingredients for Self Reliance are integrity, be misunderstood, consistency, intuition and spontaneity, and be truthfulness. • 32. The Epidemiology Of Autoimmune Diseases Introduction Scientists who research the epidemiology of autoimmune diseases have experienced many complications in their work. In a field where one plus one rarely equals two, researchers have been work fervently to determine which cell types are responsible for, or at least involved in, autoimmune dysfunction. The main subject of study by Esposito et al. is the deleterious effects of chronic activation of proinflammatory cytokines. To this end, this team has sought to characterize and quantify the cells found in various loci in mice plagued with relapsing remitting experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (RR EAE), an induce murine model of human multiple sclerosis (MS). Another question of paramount importance is how to elucidate the mechanisms of these cells and their specific cell markers. For example, are certain cells present only in the target organ? Or did these cells migrate to that location? Or were there sequential stages of differentiation that occurred? Or is it a combination of the aforementioned postulates? The authors of this paper reference 33 previous studies; 26 of which focus on T cells. This underscores the significance of this project. Autoimmune diseases have affected the lives of people around the world, regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic status. The Clinical Neuroimmunology Unit in Italy based some elements of their experiment on work performed by other laboratories. However, in addition to considering the results from other ...
