Theme Of Autonomy In The Decameron
Autonomy
Boccaccio s Decameron is a revolutionary text not only because of its irreverent attitude toward
courtly love, but also due to its portrayal of female autonomy, not something that was necessarily
common in the fourteenth century. Not only did women in The Decameron initiate their own
relationships and seek out sexual pleasure, many of them also refused to submit to men, and some
even went as far as to commit suicide rather than lose control of their own bodies.
The female characters in the stories of The Decameron were not content to wait around until their
fathers or brothers decided on a sufficiently rich and noble husband for them to marry: they
shouldered this burden themselves. Ghismonda and Caterina both went behind their fathers backs to
find lovers: Ghismonda sent Guiscardo a letter indicating her interest and informing him how they
could meet, and Caterina promised Ricciardo, If you are daring enough to climb the balcony, I am
quite sure that I can arrange to sleep there (Boccaccio 292, 394). Andreuola canceled her date with
Gabriotto after her bad dream, while Simona told her father she was going to the pardoning at San
Gallo when in reality she had planned a rendezvous with Pasquino (IV.6, IV.7). Even the married
women in these stories took it on themselves to seek out sexual pleasure: Mrs. Roussillon initiated her
affair with Guillaume de Cabestanh, and Pietro s wife Mrs. di Vinciolo recruited her friend to send
young men her way (V.10). This

How Do Drugs Affect Men s Sexual Health
Marijuana Use and Sexual Health How Lighting Up Keeps a Man Down Mr. John Dugan By Mr. John
Dugan Oct 30, 2013 In recent years, one state has followed another in relaxing its laws concerning
marijuana use and in some cases, even production. Use of weed for medical purposes is also an
ongoing topic in the media, with multiple benefits cited ranging from pain relief to anti seizure
properties. With all of the press it receives, there is a tendency to look at the positive aspects of
smoking pot, but recent research also points to evidence that it may have a negative effect on men s
sexual health. These effects are discussed here, along with some tips for ongoing penis care that may
help to promote healthy penile tissue. The sexual benefits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men who experience any of the problems discussed here should see their doctor for advise and
treatment. Penis health care for every man... Whether men use recreational substances or not,
appropriate care of the penis is needed in order to ensure that it can function properly. Good nutrition
is the first step; like the rest of the body, the penile tissue requires the right blend of nutrients to
reproduce itself, repair itself after damage, and maintain its metabolic functions. As the body works to
deal with the chemicals that are introduced by marijuana smoking, many of these nutrients may be
diverted from the penis, reducing its ability to function normally. In addition, smoking any substance
tends to have a dehydrating effect, and the loss of moisture can lead to a dry, less responsive penis.
Men can counter these effects by adding a penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1
Man Oil) to their daily routine. A creme that is enriched with natural emollients and essential vitamins
and antioxidants can add an extra edge to the body s ability to restore and repair the penile tissue,
leaving the penis responsive and ready for

I Will Explore The Painting Wo Ist Ein Zigarrengeschaft...
Colour can be defined as the result of light hitting an object and its resulting perception based on the
physics of sight or the eye. Artist have been theorising and implementing colour and colour
relationships for many years, and through many artist/art movements. Successful use and
understanding of colour can elevate a particular piece of art far beyond any that do not successfully
implement colour and its various elements. For this essay I will explore the painting Wo ist Ein
Zigarrengeschäft (1954) by Jean Phillipe Dallaire(Fig 1 3). In this exploration I will examine aspects
of this painting which include Dallaire s use of form, and colour. While also considering briefly
Dallaire s painting in in comparison to Jean Dubuffet s, painting The Dandy (1954)(Fig 4). Both
paintings originate from the same era with two artist interpretations of colour and form, and two sets
of techniques. Before considering the painting itself I will examine the artist himself, as this will help
in understanding his painting, Wo ist Ein Zigarrengeschäft (1954). Jean Dallaire (1916 1965), is a
Canadian artist who was known for his work as a painter, illustrator, and professor. His work is
considered as expressive with the use of festive images, shapes, colour and form, where the real and
the imaginary come together in a visual experience (Cheff, 2008). Jean attended art classes in both
Canada and the united states, but his practice was built on mainly self teaching.

Most Dangerous Game Comparison
The Most Dangerous Game was a very intriguing story that held breathtaking and exhilarating
moments. The leading character, Rainsford, found land after his shipwreck and was deceived by the
inhumane hunter, General Zaroff. After involuntarily being placed in a game where Zaroff hunted
innocent humans for fun, Rainsford struggled to withstand a fate of murder. Luckily, he was the first
to fully escape the wilderness with his sidekick, Eve. Audiences of this film have truly witnessed
hunting through the eyes of the prey alongside this main character. Overall, the film presented its short
story exceptionally well. Throughout the movie, a thrilling mood was established, just like the text
version. Although, the feeling of solitude was not presented effectively. In the text, Rainsford was on
his own whilst being hunted by General Zaroff. Readers formed a sensation of seclusion as they
indulged in Rainsford s thoughts. However, he never was actually alone in the film. There was always
another character with him, which prevented a solitary mood from appearing. ... Show more content

The way Rainsford ended up on the island was, in fact, the largest plot change. He was originally
supposed to fall off of the ship due to his sense of curiosity. Instead, Rainsford s ship wrecked and left
him as the only survivor. The director probably decided to make this adjustment in order to emphasize
the fact that Zaroff typically shot down passing ships, as it was not directly stated in the film. Another
difference was the amount characters. While there were only about four characters in the text, a much
larger assortment of characters were in the film. For example, Rainsford experienced the game with
some sort of love interest named Eve. Together they discovered Zaroff s gruesome sport and escaped,
which was not the case in the

Rational Emotive Behavioural Theory Essay
The following essay will consider that there is potential for rational emotive behavioural techniques to
be used within a person centred therapeutic relationship and that the person centred approach can be
attuned with the techniques connected with rational emotive behavioural therapy. The person centred
theory of counselling proposes that everyone has the ability to become a fully functioning person.
Reaching this goal should be a focal objective in therapy. The main hypothesis of rational emotive
behaviour therapy is that emotions branch primarily from an individual s beliefs, which then effects
the interpretations they make of the responses to life situations. Each theory has various techniques
that are aim to successfully achieve these objectives for the client. . Instead of viewing different
theoretical perspectives as separate units, it is important for a therapist to understand various theories,
so if required can combine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reaching this goal should be a focal objective in therapy (Rogers, 1961 as cited in Truscott, 2010).
The founder of person centred therapy, Carl Rogers, argues that deep down inside all people are
truthful, capable, can make positive changes, and are able to live successful and constructive lives
(Corey, 2013). This foundational idea on which person centred therapy is built on is known as an
actualising tendency (Cain, 2002). The person centred theory was responsible for a major change in
focus of therapy by concentrating on the person, rather than on their current issues (Cain, 2002).
Roger s proposed that the intention of therapy was not to find answers to the clients difficulties but
rather help with the development process so clients can manage problems when they are recognised
(Corey, 2013). By placing focus on helping change the personality of the person, it will assist the
client with any future issues that

Appeasement In The 1930s
The British and French policy of appeasement in the 1930s towards Adolf Hitler and Germany is
historically viewed as a feeble attempt to avoid war. In their essay, Wishful Thinking or Buying Time?
The Logic of British Appeasement in the 1930s, Norrin M. Rispsman and Jack S. Levy analyze
appeasement purely as a tool of statecraft, and not under what circumstances appeasement can be a
successful policy. They argue that appeasement is not only used to reduce the possibility of war with
an adversary, but it can be used to conserve resources against a more immediate threat, isolate an
adversary, or to buy off time to build up a deterrence against that adversary (151). Delving beyond the
typology of appeasement, they analyze historical British documents ... Show more content on

Prime Minister Neville Chamberlin and his cabinet realized that Germany s military could severely
damage Britain s economic position, and that Britain did not have the financial reserves for an
immediate rearmament program that was not implemented over time (168). Also, Chamberlin s
government recognized the threats posed by Japan and Italy as well, and realized that they needed to
potentially safeguard British interests from simultaneous attacks (168). While Chamberlin later would
prioritize rearmament over other factors as the German threat grew, it furthers the authors point of
appeasement not being a naïve strategy, but one based on a logical understanding of Britian towards
its circumstances, and trying to make those circumstances favorable. Of course, this chain of historical
events all led to the famous Munich conference. There, Ripsman and Levy argue that Chamberlin
advocated for concessions with the hopes of speeding up Britain s rearmament program and securing a
common front with Italy to balance against Germany (174). In addition, they also argue that
Chamberlin recognized that his policy of appeasement was bound to fail, but it was the best option for
stopping a destructive war in a foolish attempt to save Czechoslovakia when Britian was unprepared

Sex Education in Public Schools
Sex education should be taught in public middle schools because: it decreases the chance of sexual
diseases and teenage pregnancies, it is needed in case of a parents absence or neglect, and it also
provides more knowledge about how sex works while debunking the myths surrounding sexual
intercourse, and it makes some want to set goals for relationships. People say sex education
encourages youth to engage in sexual activities rather than preventing sex. This is true; however,
studies show that when youth are taught about sexual education, they are more likely to make better
decisions.
Sexual education should be taught in middle school because it is around this time that youth become
sexually aware. Teaching them in middle school will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students aren t getting the information that they need from the right places. Talking to friends or
learning from social media is not the best way to learn about important topics such as sex. Many
students don t know how to prevent catching an STD because the information is not available in
school. There will always be peers who will badly influence others. That is why sex education should
be implemented in schools so the youth have a reliable non biased adult to guide them into their own
adulthood and are not just basing it off misconceptions. Myths and misconceptions play a big role in
why youth engage in sex without considering the effects it can have. Many believe sex is an all access
enjoyment activity because of the influence from outside sources like music, movies, and television.
However, I state again, that with proper knowledge from both the pros and cons of engaging in sexual
activity better choices can be made that will potentially save lives of many young people today and
saving them the embarrassment of contracting an STD. When talking about sex, students are often
embarrassed to open up about how they feel about it or what they know about it. Some adults say sex
is a personal topic and should only be discussed with close family or close friends, therefore
eliminates a class for sex education. Kids nowadays feel that to be a

increased market power to bargain down the input price over suppliers and raise up the selling price to
buyers. In contrast, there are challenges associated with acquisition. The biggest challenge in the
international acquisition is how to deal with inter culture difference. Overestimating the economic
benefits also contributes to the failure to increase profitability.
By taking over Volvo, Geely can own a lot of advanced exclusive technologies, and patents, which is
top in the field of automotive safety, energy conversation and environment protection and also can
improve its image and competitive force over its rivals to achieve larger customer base and superior
profitability, and that Geely will help Volvo reduce production costs and expand in the China market.
But Geely are also worried, because they are not sure if they can manage Volvo Cars successfully.
Geely and Volvo are two companies incorporating two different cultures and operating within different
national backgrounds. Geely s cars are made for common people, and the company lacks popularity
outside China due to failure to meet safety and environmental regulations of some Western countries.
However, Volvo is designed for Luxury, has been famous worldwide for its high quality and excellent

Slave Trade Influence
The Atlantic Slave Trade impacted Africa in multiple negative ways: most people were captured and
sold as slaves for goods and shipped off to a new country, others were harassed, assaulted, and beaten.
Although our ancestors might not have been from Africa, slavery impacted our country, it changed the
world. African slavery impacted the world in many ways, however it s legacy lives within Elmina

These castles serve as historic landmarks to preserve the history of the Slave Trade, and more
importantly to preserve and protect the memories and lives of African ancestors, as well as protect the
beliefs and rights of others. Slavery is an important part of African history that effected many other
countries as well, such as the Unites States.
An important part of the United States history began with slavery, although it led to economic growth
within the country, it also led to other important events in history such as the Civil War, the
Underground Railroad, and the 13th amendment. In school children are taught about slavery and the
effects it had on the United States, effects that still plague this nation to this day. One cannot learn
about United States history without learning about other factors that contributed to and influenced this
country.
Elmina Castle represents the mistreatment African ancestors had to endure, it stands a memorial for
those who innocently lost their lives. Although Elmina Castle did not directly impact the United
States, the people who passed through their doors did.

Air Pollution In The Madison Area
Madison, the south central, mid sized city in Wisconsin is defined by its five major lakes, a beautiful
rural side and a lively metropolitan area of about 578,000 (Madison Population 2016). Madison spills
into surrounding suburbs driving locals to express that they are from the Madison Area. Historically
speaking, Madison was home to the Winnebago Native American Tribe (Madison: History n.d.). The
surrounding lakes made the area a convenient place to settle. Around 1829, a man named James Doty
bought surrounding land to pave a grid of streets. He was to make Madison, named after the fourth
president, the new capital city (Time, B.T n.d.).

The Top Five Coffee Shops Essay
Any Top List is always subjective, in my opinion. There will probably be people in my town of
Johnson City, Tennessee, who will disagree with the top 3 coffee shops that I have chosen. However, I
think that these three independent coffee shops, which are all quite different, are exceptionally good.
Beasley s Southern Bistro Beasley s Southern Bistro, located at 2203 McKinley Road in Johnson City
(locals will remember the building as the old Klopman Mills), moved from its location on South Roan
Street. It also changed its style a bit. The old Beasley s was known for its home cooking, which it still
offers; however, they have also expanded the menu and added some unique sandwiches (including a
lobster sub) and, of course, various types of coffees. My husband and I were frequent visitors to the
Beasley s on South Roan and have followed them to their new place. I loved their regular coffee at the
old location. I adore their vanilla cappuccino at the new location. There is nothing better than Eggs
Benedict for breakfast and a large cup of cappuccino. You can order other flavors and lattes, as well.
In addition, when you first walk into the old Klopman Mills, you will notice that it is being turned into

Rivera I will assert that virtue is the happy, magnificent, and content median between the two vices.
This type of happiness is our highest objective in life. Moreover, all human activities aim at some end
that we consider good. According to Aristotle, virtue is a disposition to behave in the right manner and
as a mean between extremes of deficiency and excess, which are called vices. Individuals learn moral
virtue primarily through habit and practice. Moreover, Aristotle does not say that we should aim for
happiness, but rather that we do aim at happiness. Most individuals think of happiness as physical
pleasure or honor, but this is because they have an imperfect view of the good life. A question of high
significance in any investigation of ethics is how we can teach people to be good. Furthermore,
Aristotle makes it clear that virtue cannot be taught in a classroom or by means of argumentation.

Essay On The Civil War On African American Women
The Civil War can barely be called humane , but it was key to bringing out the human side in many
people. Women, children, and African Americans were among these people who changed the ways of
society at that time. African Americans were slaves at this time, and most fought for the North. Some
claim they were the best fighters; ordinarily, they fought for their freedom. The 54th Massachusetts
was an army of all black soldiers who showed great courage under fire. Some African Americans
earned the Medal of Honor. Shaw, the leader of the 54th, wanted the best weapons an equal pay for his
soldiers. Most were escaped slaves that became heroes in the North. Women revolutionized the
medical fields. They created a system called triage which assessed the level of urgency the patients. A
woman named Clara Barton was a nurse who went on to found the Red Cross. Some wrote letters to
lonely soldiers, some took wounded into their homes. They comforted soldiers on their deathbed, and
also aided surgeons with surgery. Some women acted as spies for the North or South. However, some

Illusion and Reality in Ryunoske Akutagawa´s In a Grove
Japanese writer Ryunoske Akutagawa makes it difficult to distinguish the differences between illusion
and reality. It suited his ironic taste to play the illusionist who leaves his audience staring blankly into
a mirror . We see this in Akutagawa story In a Grove because each of three main characters gives
conflicting confession, and each have a motivation to possibly lie. Tajomaru was the first of the three
main characters to confess, and throughout his confession he is motivated to establish a greater
reputation for himself knowing he has nothing to lose. Tajomaru willingly confesses to the police
commissioner that he was the one who murdered Takehiko. He later elevates himself to the same level
as the police commissioner. Am I the only one who kills people? You, you don t use your swords. You
kill people with your power, with your money. Sometimes you kill them on the pretext of working for
their good. It s true they don t bleed. They are in the best of health, but all the same you ve killed
them. It s hard to say who is a greater sinner, you or me . By elevating himself to the same status as
the commissioner he is making himself an equal to justify that both of them are murderers and that
they are the same. Tajomaru also told the police commissioner that he untied Takehiko before there
battle. I untied him and told him to cross sword . In this quote Tajomaru wants to be view as a fair and
honorable person. He further establishes his reputation when he described the

Cause And Effect Of Tornados
To form a tornado the atmosphere needs to create an instability. The air closest to the ground will be
warm, humid, and have south facing winds. In the upper atmosphere, the air will be cold with west or
southwest facing winds. These two components in the upper and lower atmosphere together create the
atmospheric instability. Another key component to form a tornado is wind shear. Wind shear is the
change in wind speed and direction of wind while the warmer and cooler air are chasing each other
around in the circle, creating the height of the tornado. ( Prepare for a Tornado, 2017) Although
tornados have been recorded in every continent except for Antarctica most are found in central United
States better known as tornado alley a stretch of land from the western part of Texas to North Dakota.
On average, there are two thousand tornadoes annually, but two out of three of those tornadoes happen
in the United States. The states with the most tornados on average are Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and
Florida. Tornadoes form in the central part of the United States most commonly because of the
reoccurring atmospheric instability from the dry polar air that meets the warm moist air from the Gulf
of Mexico. (Prepare for a Tornado, 2017) A storm capable of producing a tornado can occur at any
time but most often they occur in the spring and summer, June and May have the highest number of
tornados recorded. Tornadoes can happen at any time of the day but most often occur between the

Prey By Michael Crichton Summary
For my book report, I decided to choose the book, Prey , by Michael Crichton. This selection teaches
many scientific facts in a story like form. The story Prey , is based in the Nevada desert when
suddenly an experiment goes terribly wrong. Scientist had created nanoparticles, micro robots, to help
people, but instead of these robots helping people, they kill all living objects. To make matters even
worse, all of the micro robots have escaped and humans are its prey. Scientist have tried multiple
times to destroy them, but every procedure has been unsuccessful. With each passing hour, the
nanoparticles become more and more deadly. In this selection, the main character, Jack, is married to a
scientist, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the very beginning of his novel, he talks about how many of us today are not fully grasping the
world s implications. He believes people are not noticing what is truly going on around them today in
nature. Crichton wants us to capture the real meaning of evolution in this story. He wants us to
envision a world where every living plant, insect, and animal species is changing at every instant. The
author wants us to know that whole populations of organisms are rising and falling, shifting and
changing every second of the day. This is called biosphere. Biosphere means that we do not know the
advance consequences of anything that we do. This is because us people either do not know enough or
that the ever changing world responses to our actions in many different ways. Biosphere responds
unpredictably to our actions. The author is saying that we are unaware of what is going on around us.
For example, in the story people were clueless that the robots had escaped and people did not know
how to destroy these dangerous machines. This is just one of the scientific ways the author is trying to
tell us through the

Dependency of Love
Love is the ubiquitous force that drives all people in life. If people did not want, give, or receive love,
they would never experience life because it is the force that completes a person. People rely on this
seemingly absent force although it is ever present. Elizabeth Barrett Browning is an influential poet
who describes the necessity of love in her poems from her book Sonnets from the Portuguese. She
writes about love based on her relationship with her husband. Her life is dependent on him, and she
expresses this same reliance of love in her poetry. She uses literary devices to strengthen her argument
for the necessity of love. The necessity of love is a major theme in Elizabeth Barrett Browning s

She must instantly renew thy presence just as she breathes, or the love could be lost (Mermin 151).
Plants constantly require and take in carbon dioxide to stay alive. Just as plants rely on carbon dioxide,
people absorb and let out love in order to live. Through the image of a plant embodying love,
Browning harvest the reader s own feelings of love and awakens the reality that people depend on
love. Just as love grows within a person, it can also become an obstacle. Browning imagines what
happens when love becomes a burden in the reader s life: bands of greenery which inshpere thee, Drop
heavily down, burst, shattered everywhere! (Browning). The speaker retains the burden of her
thoughts of not giving or receiving love; they weigh her down almost to the point of death. She needs
to turn her thoughts of love into actions or she will die with the burden (Moran 147). The reader may
feel the same about their feelings of love and is able to empathize with the speaker; on the contrary,
they can feel sympathetic since they should listen to the speaker to release the sentiments so that the
speaker no longer holds the burden of her thoughts. Browning also uses figurative language to
describe the necessity of love. The author s love is ubiquitous with the description of [loving] thee to
the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach (Browning). The author utilizes

Caribbean Integration
CARIBBEAN POLITICS and SOCIETY
Caribbean Integration
Rationale for Integration.
The Caribbean remains fragmented both economically and politically as a result of competition and
conflict among the European powers. Fragmentation is in part the product of a long history as separate
colonies of a metropolitan power or powers. It is also in part the psychological effects on people of
separation by sea.
The case for regional integration is both simple and irrefutable. First we are small and we need to
achieve economies of scale. We need to achieve such economies in markets, production, the
mobilisation of regional capital for regional use, university education, science and technology, sea and
air transport to mention some areas.

Psychological Dependence on the outside world
In spite of our achievements in many fields of endeavour, we still have a strong sense of psychological
dependence on things external particularly North American, Europe, and some of the bigger countries
of Latin America. We still (as good ex colonials) see big countries in the hemisphere and in Europe as
being some sense better (intrinsincally and not just economically) than out individual countries and
the other West Indian countries and we sometimes carry this perception into the field of international
relations.

The Accomplishments Of The Whitney Houston
As I lay me down, heaven hear me now. I m lost without a cause, after giving it
my all. Winter storms have come, and darkened my sun. After all that I ve been through,
who on earth can I turn to? I look to you, quoted from the song I Look to You by
Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston came out with this song after she got out of rehab,
making it seem like it was her recovery song or letting her world of fans know she was
back. Everyone always has a rough patch in life whether they want to or not, even
celebrities. Whitney also called Nippy was born on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New
Jersey. Whitney is an American recording artist, actress, and former fashion model.
Whitney began singing in her church choir wanting nothing more than to become a
backup singer like her mother. But by the time she was eleven, she refused to be in the
background any longer and desired to take center stage one evening to sing a solo. This
was only the beginning of Whitney s classic life into stardom. This essay should prove
that anyone can make mistakes and still be remembered as great. People should know
that she made mistakes but she took her mistakes and made it her testimony.

J.B Priestly has put this scene in the play very carefully as this leads the life of Eva/Daisy to a whole
host of events, this is the turning point in the play.
Throughout the play Sheila s character changes dramatically, she starts off quite excited about her
engagement to Gerald, then the inspector arrives and he makes her break down and tell the truth, she
feels responsible for the suicide of Eva/Daisy. Sheila then tries to get her parents to tell the truth to
stop them from getting into trouble with the inspector, but Sheila s parents font realise that Sheila is
only trying to stop them from getting into more trouble with the inspector.
J.B Priestly has made Sheila s character different from all the other characters in the play, he is trying
to use her as a way of making people realise what they were like and how their views affected people.

Reflection Paper On Pastor
INTERVIEW PAPER
I really enjoyed executing this interview. It was a privilege to be able to include my interviewee in my
assignment, as he has been supporting my decision to further my education and proceed with my
calling through Christ. Bill Kidd has been an associate pastor for over 7 years at Bethel Baptist
Church. Pastor Kidd was in school at the same time as myself and we always were able to connect and
relate to each other whenever we got together at meetings or other gatherings. I look up to and respect
his achievement in ministry and I am looking forward to learning from him as I pursue my role in
ministry.
My first question to pastor Bill was that interested me greatly, especially as I compared it to the
personal experience I had with God s call on my life. I asked about his experience with how and why
he was called into ministry. His story was captivating, like myself, his wife felt the tug before he did.
This call seems close to my own as my wife brought it to my attention before I realized what God was
doing. When reflecting on this situation I think about Mark 4:24, And he said to them, Pay attention to
what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to
you.
The second question I inquired about dealt with a dictatorship. This enticed him to confess his past
mistakes he had made regarding this subject. Pastor Bill found out that before he could point fingers
and focus on others, he first had to deal with his

Eating Disorder Research Essay example
To what extent do biological approaches successfully explain eating disorders?
There are many different biological approaches that explain the reasons for eating disorders they all
have some validity behind them to a certain extent. An eating disorder is a psychological dysfunction
that causes a person to change their eating habits to eating less, or more etc.
Firstly a biological approach was studied by Holland (1988) on genetic concordance between identical
twins and non identical twins. Holland was trying to discover the connection between anorexia and
genetics through twins. Holland s study consisted of taking pairs of Monozygotic (identical) and
Dizygotic (non identical) with one of the twins suffering from anorexia; ... Show more content on

Also the study was only done with twins and therefore the same results may not be found between
parent and child etc, but the study does show that genetics can play a part in developing anorexia. For
using concordance rates these studies can be criticised, since concordance rates alone cannot be to
blame for twins developing an eating disorder, the causes can also be observational experiences/
learning such as constantly being surrounded by thin people and you are overweight.
Fava did another study done on eating disorder on seretonin. Fava discovered a link between the levels
of seretonin and anorexia. This showed that biologically the levels of seretonin in a person could cause
them to develop anorexia. However Fava did not show whether this change in the levels of seretonin
he discovered was a cause for the participants developing anorexia or whether it is a result of
anorexia. Since people who suffer from anorexia are often depressed it is difficult to show whether it
is a result or cause.
Garfinkel and Garner did another study on biological causes for anorexia. They discovered that
anorexia sufferers had a disturbed hypothalamus. This could mean that there is a link between the
hypothalamus and eating disorders. However not everyone with anorexia have a hypothalamus
dysfunction.

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined LTE/MIMO
Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s capacity. This will allow the
designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data rate, better channel spectral efficiency and
less bit error rate, and as a result, much better service and transmission performances.
1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework
Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing expectations for
speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more information, such as business and
consumer applications, and entertainment available through their mobile devices, but with greater
speeds. For wireless carriers to achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks
need to start behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a
fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for customers and
service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless network. Unlike earlier wireless
standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables
wireless networks to deliver higher level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting the
devices and applications of the future. Verizon Wireless chose LTE over WiMAX as the technological
foundation for its 4G wireless broadband

Moralism In The Cask Of Amontillado
Looking at The Cask of Amontillado one can usually see the issue and theme of Montresor s rationale
in executing Fortunato. The tone of the story is that of the narrator being confused and angry for the
blame of his vindictive homicide that has denied him peace and questions the morality of his actions.
His uneasy inner voice has turned into a sort of retaliation for his wrongdoing, and the blessing In
pace requiescat (Poe) at the finish of the story is unexpected in the light of his mental anxiety and his
insight that his own spirit is cursed by mortal sin. Fortunato and Montresor were political adversaries

Tourism Essay
Introduction
Understanding Leipers model aides in characterizing on the reasons of why individuals head out to the
destinations. The model was made in 1994, as it intends to attempt and comprehend destinations,
producing zones, travel zones, nature streams inside the connection of a more extensive tourism
framework rather then seeing them as partitioned free elements . This implies that with a specific end
goal to comprehend the reasons of why individuals travel we should firstly investigate the push and
pull factors of tourists.
Leipers Model embodies itself of three different micro parts, and sub segments or sub components.
These parts incorporate:
Geographic Element:
Tourist Generating Region,

Symbolism In The Mockingbird
Symbolism of the Mockingbird
Mockingbirds don t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy they don t do one thing but sing their
hearts out for us that is why it is a sin to kill a Mockingbird Harper Lee Mockingbirds are only here to
sing their songs and to bring us joy. A Blue Jay is someone or something that preys on the week.
Mockingbirds have to be shielded from the Blue Jays. Although Mockingbirds don t always need to be
protected they do have to be protected from Blue Jays because they are gentle creatures whereas the
Blue Jay is territorial and corrupt. Mockingbirds are only here to sing their songs and to bring us joy.
A Mockingbird is innocent, without fault and only here to help. To kill a Mockingbird is a sin. (119)
This is because a Mockingbird is an animal that doesn t cause harm and has proved to only have a
pure heart. Tom Robinson is the predominant Mockingbird. Tom s death was like the senseless killing
of songbirds. (241) Since another word for mockingbird is a songbird, this quote is telling us that Tom
is like a Mockingbird and that his death wasn t supposed to happen. The unexpected Mockingbird is
Boo Radley. Atticus looked like he needed cheering up I ran to him and said yes sir, I understand Mr.
Tate was right he looked at me and said what do you mean well it d sort of be like shooting a
Mockingbird. (318) Clearly Scout is saying that if Maycome were to find out that Boo killed Bob it
would probably kill him because Boo delights in being alone. Tom Robinson and Boo Radley are the
representation of the Mockingbird.
A Blue Jay is someone or something that preys on the week. Blue jays are territorial creatures who
destroy the gardens of people who live around them. In our courts, when it s a white man s word
against a black man s, the white man always wins. They re ugly, but those are the facts of life. (221)
Fearlessly Atticus is talking to Jem about the white man or Bob Ewell. Since Atticus is defending Tom
and is going against the Ewells in court Bob Ewell is targeting Atticus and his family. Bob Ewell is the
most recognizable Blue jay. They have been the disgrace of Maycomb for three generations. (30)

Theory Of Teaching And Learning
Theory of Teaching and Learning Part 1. What I Believe about Teaching and Learning It is my opinion
that conventional teaching strategies cannot meet the requirements of the classroom environment.
First, the classroom environment has been culturally diversified. Second, not all students have similar
capabilities or work at the same rate even if they are of the same age. Third, each student has their
own learning style. In addition, some students do not react well to the conventional strategies of
teaching and, as a result, there is a lack of learning (Heimlich Norland, 2002, p. 18). A Constructivist
teaching environment affords more opportunties for both teachers and students, and makes learning
more efficient and effective. The Montessori teaching technique is one of the best techniques because
of its eight fundamental principles (Lillard, 2005, p. 29). These principles include: The premise that
cognition and movement are closely interrelated, and that movement can improve cognition and
learning in students. It also holds that the process of learning and well being are enhanced when an
individual or student has some degree of control over their lives. Individuals learn well when they
develop an interest in what they are being taught. The technique also holds that associating learning

Upon researching one of the most well loved stories of the last century, one will without doubt
encounter the name of the author of such a book. The fictional world of the story is set in a land of
elves and orcs, dwarves and humans, and, most importantly, hobbits. It is a tale of bravery, friendship,
determination, corruption, and it is a tale of a great journey. The title of the story is The Lord of the
Rings, and the author of it is J.R.R. Tolkien. J.R.R. Tolkien produced one of the most beloved stories
of the last century, and has influenced the modern world of fantasy. (J(ohn) R(onald) R(euel) Tolkien

Born in Bloemfontein, South Africa on January 3, 1892, Tolkien lived to be 81 years old, and died on
September 2, 1973 due to complications resulting from a bleeding gastric ulcer and a chest infection.
He attended Exeter College in Oxford from 1911 to 1919, and then went on to be an author and a
scholar. Token was a lover of language, and this is shown in his most admired stories, The Hobbit and
the Lord of the Rings. To quote Humphrey Carpenter in J.R.R. Tolkien: a Biography, It was a deep
love for the look and sound of words that motivated him, springing from the days when his mother
had given him his first Latin lesson. (Contemporary authors online 4)

Beethoven Comparison
Both Richard Wagner and Ludwig van Beethoven were incredibly influential composers of their time,
incorporating techniques and changes that soon led to a shift in musical direction in their respective
eras. Given thought, it s hard to discern which was the more influential, however they both contributed
greatly to music of the time and music to come. The two permanently changed the face of music, but
also differed in person and the centuries ahead that they influenced.
The pair of composers were both born in Germany, to musical fathers who heavily influenced their
careers. Wagner s alleged biological father, Ludwig Geyer, was constantly working within the theater,
and often brought Wagner along with him. Beethoven was born into a highly musical family heavily
involved in the church, and his father was his first teacher of music. Beethoven and Wagner both
shared unique ideals about music that shaped the future of music, namely Beethoven s break with ...

Beethoven was most well known for his nine symphonies, while Wagner was best known for his
operatic works. Beethoven was a heavy innovator of the symphony, most evident in the final
movement of his ninth symphony with his incorporation of a full choir. Wagner was one of the first
composers to completely drop the idea of tonality, which became very popular during the advent of
twentieth century music. Wagner also created the Leitmotif, which is used heavily in the scoring of
movies. Also, while both were German born composers, Wagner was heavily nationalistic to the point
of denouncing the musical works of those without german heritage, and being anti semetic. Wagner
and Beethoven both differed on how they lived their lives as well, as Wagner was known to
accumulate debt in a location until he became hated, then leave that town for another, while
Beethoven spent the majority of his life in Vienna,

Marketing agency know that the way to encourage buying it to present a need or want based on
popularity. Therefore, it is unbelievable that those super stars that many have come to ideal would
support a company brand that is accused of poor working conditions, where employees were reported
to have respiratory problems. It is no doubt that long hours, inadequate equipment and training, etc.
would cause work related injuries. In addition to working long hours, employees were reported to
receive little to no pay.

  • 2. Theme Of Autonomy In The Decameron Autonomy Boccaccio s Decameron is a revolutionary text not only because of its irreverent attitude toward courtly love, but also due to its portrayal of female autonomy, not something that was necessarily common in the fourteenth century. Not only did women in The Decameron initiate their own relationships and seek out sexual pleasure, many of them also refused to submit to men, and some even went as far as to commit suicide rather than lose control of their own bodies. The female characters in the stories of The Decameron were not content to wait around until their fathers or brothers decided on a sufficiently rich and noble husband for them to marry: they shouldered this burden themselves. Ghismonda and Caterina both went behind their fathers backs to find lovers: Ghismonda sent Guiscardo a letter indicating her interest and informing him how they could meet, and Caterina promised Ricciardo, If you are daring enough to climb the balcony, I am quite sure that I can arrange to sleep there (Boccaccio 292, 394). Andreuola canceled her date with Gabriotto after her bad dream, while Simona told her father she was going to the pardoning at San Gallo when in reality she had planned a rendezvous with Pasquino (IV.6, IV.7). Even the married women in these stories took it on themselves to seek out sexual pleasure: Mrs. Roussillon initiated her affair with Guillaume de Cabestanh, and Pietro s wife Mrs. di Vinciolo recruited her friend to send young men her way (V.10). How Do Drugs Affect Men s Sexual Health Marijuana Use and Sexual Health How Lighting Up Keeps a Man Down Mr. John Dugan By Mr. John Dugan Oct 30, 2013 In recent years, one state has followed another in relaxing its laws concerning marijuana use and in some cases, even production. Use of weed for medical purposes is also an ongoing topic in the media, with multiple benefits cited ranging from pain relief to anti seizure properties. With all of the press it receives, there is a tendency to look at the positive aspects of smoking pot, but recent research also points to evidence that it may have a negative effect on men s sexual health. These effects are discussed here, along with some tips for ongoing penis care that may help to promote healthy penile tissue. The sexual benefits ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Men who experience any of the problems discussed here should see their doctor for advise and treatment. Penis health care for every man... Whether men use recreational substances or not, appropriate care of the penis is needed in order to ensure that it can function properly. Good nutrition is the first step; like the rest of the body, the penile tissue requires the right blend of nutrients to reproduce itself, repair itself after damage, and maintain its metabolic functions. As the body works to deal with the chemicals that are introduced by marijuana smoking, many of these nutrients may be diverted from the penis, reducing its ability to function normally. In addition, smoking any substance tends to have a dehydrating effect, and the loss of moisture can lead to a dry, less responsive penis. Men can counter these effects by adding a penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) to their daily routine. A creme that is enriched with natural emollients and essential vitamins and antioxidants can add an extra edge to the body s ability to restore and repair the penile tissue, leaving the penis responsive and ready for ... • 5. I Will Explore The Painting Wo Ist Ein Zigarrengeschaft... Colour can be defined as the result of light hitting an object and its resulting perception based on the physics of sight or the eye. Artist have been theorising and implementing colour and colour relationships for many years, and through many artist/art movements. Successful use and understanding of colour can elevate a particular piece of art far beyond any that do not successfully implement colour and its various elements. For this essay I will explore the painting Wo ist Ein Zigarrengeschäft (1954) by Jean Phillipe Dallaire(Fig 1 3). In this exploration I will examine aspects of this painting which include Dallaire s use of form, and colour. While also considering briefly Dallaire s painting in in comparison to Jean Dubuffet s, painting The Dandy (1954)(Fig 4). Both paintings originate from the same era with two artist interpretations of colour and form, and two sets of techniques. Before considering the painting itself I will examine the artist himself, as this will help in understanding his painting, Wo ist Ein Zigarrengeschäft (1954). Jean Dallaire (1916 1965), is a Canadian artist who was known for his work as a painter, illustrator, and professor. His work is considered as expressive with the use of festive images, shapes, colour and form, where the real and the imaginary come together in a visual experience (Cheff, 2008). Jean attended art classes in both Canada and the united states, but his practice was built on mainly self teaching. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Most Dangerous Game Comparison The Most Dangerous Game was a very intriguing story that held breathtaking and exhilarating moments. The leading character, Rainsford, found land after his shipwreck and was deceived by the inhumane hunter, General Zaroff. After involuntarily being placed in a game where Zaroff hunted innocent humans for fun, Rainsford struggled to withstand a fate of murder. Luckily, he was the first to fully escape the wilderness with his sidekick, Eve. Audiences of this film have truly witnessed hunting through the eyes of the prey alongside this main character. Overall, the film presented its short story exceptionally well. Throughout the movie, a thrilling mood was established, just like the text version. Although, the feeling of solitude was not presented effectively. In the text, Rainsford was on his own whilst being hunted by General Zaroff. Readers formed a sensation of seclusion as they indulged in Rainsford s thoughts. However, he never was actually alone in the film. There was always another character with him, which prevented a solitary mood from appearing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The way Rainsford ended up on the island was, in fact, the largest plot change. He was originally supposed to fall off of the ship due to his sense of curiosity. Instead, Rainsford s ship wrecked and left him as the only survivor. The director probably decided to make this adjustment in order to emphasize the fact that Zaroff typically shot down passing ships, as it was not directly stated in the film. Another difference was the amount characters. While there were only about four characters in the text, a much larger assortment of characters were in the film. For example, Rainsford experienced the game with some sort of love interest named Eve. Together they discovered Zaroff s gruesome sport and escaped, which was not the case in the ... The person centred theory of counselling proposes that everyone has the ability to become a fully functioning person. Reaching this goal should be a focal objective in therapy. The main hypothesis of rational emotive behaviour therapy is that emotions branch primarily from an individual s beliefs, which then effects the interpretations they make of the responses to life situations. Each theory has various techniques that are aim to successfully achieve these objectives for the client. . The founder of person centred therapy, Carl Rogers, argues that deep down inside all people are truthful, capable, can make positive changes, and are able to live successful and constructive lives (Corey, 2013). This foundational idea on which person centred therapy is built on is known as an actualising tendency (Cain, 2002). The person centred theory was responsible for a major change in focus of therapy by concentrating on the person, rather than on their current issues (Cain, 2002). Roger s proposed that the intention of therapy was not to find answers to the clients difficulties but rather help with the development process so clients can manage problems when they are recognised (Corey, 2013). • 9. Appeasement In The 1930s The British and French policy of appeasement in the 1930s towards Adolf Hitler and Germany is historically viewed as a feeble attempt to avoid war. In their essay, Wishful Thinking or Buying Time? The Logic of British Appeasement in the 1930s, Norrin M. Rispsman and Jack S. Levy analyze appeasement purely as a tool of statecraft, and not under what circumstances appeasement can be a successful policy. They argue that appeasement is not only used to reduce the possibility of war with an adversary, but it can be used to conserve resources against a more immediate threat, isolate an adversary, or to buy off time to build up a deterrence against that adversary (151). Delving beyond the typology of appeasement, they analyze historical British documents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prime Minister Neville Chamberlin and his cabinet realized that Germany s military could severely damage Britain s economic position, and that Britain did not have the financial reserves for an immediate rearmament program that was not implemented over time (168). Also, Chamberlin s government recognized the threats posed by Japan and Italy as well, and realized that they needed to potentially safeguard British interests from simultaneous attacks (168). While Chamberlin later would prioritize rearmament over other factors as the German threat grew, it furthers the authors point of appeasement not being a naïve strategy, but one based on a logical understanding of Britian towards its circumstances, and trying to make those circumstances favorable. Of course, this chain of historical events all led to the famous Munich conference. There, Ripsman and Levy argue that Chamberlin advocated for concessions with the hopes of speeding up Britain s rearmament program and securing a common front with Italy to balance against Germany (174). In addition, they also argue that Chamberlin recognized that his policy of appeasement was bound to fail, but it was the best option for stopping a destructive war in a foolish attempt to save Czechoslovakia when Britian was unprepared ... After all that I ve been through, who on earth can I turn to? I look to you, quoted from the song I Look to You by Whitney Houston. Whitney Houston came out with this song after she got out of rehab, making it seem like it was her recovery song or letting her world of fans know she was back. Everyone always has a rough patch in life whether they want to or not, even celebrities. Whitney also called Nippy was born on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. Whitney is an American recording artist, actress, and former fashion model. Whitney began singing in her church choir wanting nothing more than to become a backup singer like her mother. But by the time she was eleven, she refused to be in the background any longer and desired to take center stage one evening to sing a solo. This was only the beginning of Whitney s classic life into stardom. This essay should prove that anyone can make mistakes and still be remembered as great. People should know that she made mistakes but she took her mistakes and made it her testimony. WHITNEY HOUSTON 3 The Life Of Whitney Houston If asked who is your favorite singer of all times, could you answer quickly or would you have to think about it? I don t even have to give that question a second thought. Before there was a search for an American Idol , Star Search or Diva

  • 32. Reflection Paper On Pastor INTERVIEW PAPER I really enjoyed executing this interview. It was a privilege to be able to include my interviewee in my assignment, as he has been supporting my decision to further my education and proceed with my calling through Christ. Bill Kidd has been an associate pastor for over 7 years at Bethel Baptist Church. Pastor Kidd was in school at the same time as myself and we always were able to connect and relate to each other whenever we got together at meetings or other gatherings. I look up to and respect his achievement in ministry and I am looking forward to learning from him as I pursue my role in ministry. My first question to pastor Bill was that interested me greatly, especially as I compared it to the personal experience I had with God s call on my life. I asked about his experience with how and why he was called into ministry. His story was captivating, like myself, his wife felt the tug before he did. This call seems close to my own as my wife brought it to my attention before I realized what God was doing. When reflecting on this situation I think about Mark 4:24, And he said to them, Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. The second question I inquired about dealt with a dictatorship. This enticed him to confess his past mistakes he had made regarding this subject. • 35. Eating Disorder Research Essay example To what extent do biological approaches successfully explain eating disorders? There are many different biological approaches that explain the reasons for eating disorders they all have some validity behind them to a certain extent. An eating disorder is a psychological dysfunction that causes a person to change their eating habits to eating less, or more etc. Firstly a biological approach was studied by Holland (1988) on genetic concordance between identical twins and non identical twins. Holland was trying to discover the connection between anorexia and genetics through twins. Holland s study consisted of taking pairs of Monozygotic (identical) and Dizygotic (non identical) with one of the twins suffering from anorexia; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also the study was only done with twins and therefore the same results may not be found between parent and child etc, but the study does show that genetics can play a part in developing anorexia. For using concordance rates these studies can be criticised, since concordance rates alone cannot be to blame for twins developing an eating disorder, the causes can also be observational experiences/ learning such as constantly being surrounded by thin people and you are overweight. Fava did another study done on eating disorder on seretonin. Fava discovered a link between the levels of seretonin and anorexia. This showed that biologically the levels of seretonin in a person could cause them to develop anorexia. However Fava did not show whether this change in the levels of seretonin he discovered was a cause for the participants developing anorexia or whether it is a result of anorexia. Since people who suffer from anorexia are often depressed it is difficult to show whether it is a result or cause. Garfinkel and Garner did another study on biological causes for anorexia. They discovered that anorexia sufferers had a disturbed hypothalamus. This could mean that there is a link between the hypothalamus and eating disorders. However not everyone with anorexia have a hypothalamus dysfunction. Park et al (1995) were important in discovering a biological link with anorexia. Park et ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, we give practical recommendations of how using the proposed combined LTE/MIMO Network with a Multi beam antenna system will increase the system s capacity. This will allow the designers of wireless networks to obtain maximum data rate, better channel spectral efficiency and less bit error rate, and as a result, much better service and transmission performances. 1.2 Theoretical and Conceptual Framework Driving the evolution of wireless broadband technology is customers increasing expectations for speed, bandwidth, and global access. Customers want more information, such as business and consumer applications, and entertainment available through their mobile devices, but with greater speeds. For wireless carriers to achieve greater speeds and pervasive connectedness, their networks need to start behaving more like landline IP based networks. This line of thinking represents a fundamental shift in perspective from mobile services to broadband connections for customers and service providers alike. Enter the fourth generation (4G) wireless network. Unlike earlier wireless standards, 4G technology is based on TCP/IP, the core protocol of the Internet. TCP/IP enables wireless networks to deliver higher level services, such as video and multimedia, while supporting the devices and applications of the future. The tone of the story is that of the narrator being confused and angry for the blame of his vindictive homicide that has denied him peace and questions the morality of his actions. His uneasy inner voice has turned into a sort of retaliation for his wrongdoing, and the blessing In pace requiescat (Poe) at the finish of the story is unexpected in the light of his mental anxiety and his insight that his own spirit is cursed by mortal sin. Tom s death was like the senseless killing of songbirds. • 43. Theory Of Teaching And Learning Theory of Teaching and Learning Part 1. What I Believe about Teaching and Learning It is my opinion that conventional teaching strategies cannot meet the requirements of the classroom environment. First, the classroom environment has been culturally diversified. Second, not all students have similar capabilities or work at the same rate even if they are of the same age. Third, each student has their own learning style. In addition, some students do not react well to the conventional strategies of teaching and, as a result, there is a lack of learning (Heimlich Norland, 2002, p. 18). A Constructivist teaching environment affords more opportunties for both teachers and students, and makes learning more efficient and effective. The Montessori teaching technique is one of the best techniques because of its eight fundamental principles (Lillard, 2005, p. 29). These principles include: The premise that cognition and movement are closely interrelated, and that movement can improve cognition and learning in students. It also holds that the process of learning and well being are enhanced when an individual or student has some degree of control over their lives. Individuals learn well when they develop an interest in what they are being taught. The technique also holds that associating learning activities with a certain reward such as monetary rewards and promises for better grades, adversely affects the learning process and negatively motivates the students to learn ...
