Analysis of New Social Movement Theory Essay
Analysis of New Social Movement Theory
Works Cited Not Included
In Johnston, Laraña, and Gusfield s discussion of New Social Movement (NSM) theory, they identify
the concept as a double edged sword, in that is has both related itself to the changing shape of society
but also overemphasized the newness of its model, almost divorcing itself from previous social
movement theories instead of acknowledging and assessing the similarities between them and
integrating what is useful from theories of the past. As its basic framework asserts that social
movements now are not as linked to class as they were in the time of the emergence of Marxism and at
the height of industrialist society (as Resource Mobilization Theory might stress), new ... Show more

The second characteristic of NSM s is tied to the first, in that groups no longer tend to share an over
arching ideological framework, whereas in Marxist discourse, such a shared frame was the unifying
and totalizing element for collective action (Buechler Cylke 277). Ideological unity has been
supplanted by pragmatic orientations where movement members seek institutional reform to attain
greater power in decision making processes, promoting a democratizing dynamic in social movement
discourse.
The third characteristic describes the mode of identity formation that is predominant in NSM s, whose
center tends to be cultural and symbolic issues, in contrast to the mobilization around economic
grievances in other social movements (Buechler Cylke 277). The shared symbols and cultural
meanings of members of NSM s serve to redefine daily life in the context of the movement.
A blurring between public and private action or relation between the individual and the collective is
the fourth and a very prominent trait of NSM s (Buechler Cylke 277). The hippie movement and
vegetarianism are good examples of private behaviors being perceived as part of a social movement or
being connected to a collective identity. Johnston, et al. explain this by indicating that in and through
movements that have no clear class or structural base, the movement becomes the focus for the
individual s definition of himself or herself, and

The Death Of A Salesman By Arthur Miller And Fences
And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream
deeply rooted in the American dream, Martin Luther King Jr. The American Dream is simply the idea
that every person has the same chance to achieve success through hard work. The Death of Salesman
by Arthur Miller and Fences by August Wilson closely hold a relatable pursuit of the American dream.
In both texts, the parents and children were torn apart from each other because of their pursuit of the
American Dream. This goal (American Dream) tears the families apart because in Fences Cory wants
to follow Troy s footsteps by playing a professional sport, but Troy doesn t want him to get involved
in sports because of he has experienced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s whose fault it is!, (Miller 131). Both of these fathers want to see their family succeed, but get
caught up in family problems and both end up passing away.
The mothers of these plays were key contributors to attempting to help their families get back
together. Rose tries to bring her family back together by making the boy build a fence in the quote,
Cory:I don t see why Mama want a fence around the yard nowadays. Troy: Damn if i know either.
What the hell she keeping out with it? She ain t got nothing nobody want. Bono:Some people build to
keep others out... and other people build fences to keep people in. Rose wants to hold on to you all.
She loves you, (Wilson 2.1.32). This is a great point made by Nono because Rose is trying to make the
boys bond by making them put together a fence, symbolising the reconstruction of their relationship.
In the Death of a Salesman, Linda repeatedly attempts to keep the family together, especially in the
quote, Biff: Will you let me go, for Christ s sake? Will you take that phony dream and burn it before
something happens? I ll go in the morning. Put him put him to bed. Willy: Isn t that isn t that
remarkable? Biff he likes me! LINDA: He loves you, Willy!, (Miller 133). This perfectly showcases
how Linda is a vital piece to the Loman family, because without her their family would probably have
been separated. It s evident that

Formaldehyde Research Paper
Formaldehyde is a colorless and flammable gas. It is used in many cosmetic products to aid in
preventing bacteria growth. This chemical can be found in many different personal care products
including nail polish, body washes, shampoos, cleansers, eye shadows, and nail polish treatments. The
most common side effect of Formaldehyde are allergic skin reactions. It has been found to cause
irritation of the eyes, nose, and skin. But, it as also been linked to nasal and nasopharyngeal cancers.
It is somewhat difficult to figure out if your cosmetics contain Formaldehyde because most product
labels won t tell you if it is or isn t present. However, you can figure it out yourself by checking for
various chemicals. Some chemicals that are related to Formaldehyde are DMDM hydantoin,
Imidazolidinyl urea, and Bronopol. In addition, there are some nail polish companies who do not use

Hydroquinone
Hydroquinoe is a compound found in numerous skin products that is used for lightening skin. It is
contained in a lot of products that are aimed towards reducing the appearance of dark spots, freckles,
and acne scars. Hydroquinoe unfortunately does cause some dangerous health concerns. For one, it
causes skin irritation. Using this ingredient regularly can result in your skin starting to irritate. Some
people have even experienced extreme redness and itching when they applied it to their skin.
There are many alternatives to using products that contain hydroquinone. If you are searching for a
skin whitening product, look for one that is made of natural ingredients such as mandelic acid and
alpha hydroxy acids. Using products with these natural ingredients are way safer than using products
that contain hydroquinone. However, remember that even though skin whitening can help many skin
problems, it should only be used for treating problem regions, not for using all over. Try your best to
be comfortable in the skin you already

Part One Of Don Quixote By Miguel De Cervantes
Entering a fantasy land like Disney World is one thing; reconstructing the real world into a fantasy
land is another. The reconfiguration of the real world into an imaginary one summarizes what Part
One of Don Quixote, written by Miguel de Cervantes, is about. The story narrates a parody of Spain s
historical idea of chivalry by starring Don Quixote, a man obsessed with nobility. Don Quixote walks
through a knight errant journey with the faithful peasant Sancho Panza and creates the journey by
mentally transforming everything, such as Spain s prostitutes into ladies, windmills into ferocious
giants, inns into luxurious castles, etc. Contrary to the main overview of the story, Cervantes didn t
simply write Part One of Don Quixote to poke fun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first goal suggests pride, the second, faith. These two qualities speak loudly for why Don Quixote
dreamed of fighting in the name of chivalry. Now Quixote s weakness in these two qualities certainly
affect his character, but it s the strengths that make him admire knights. In regards to fame, nothing
seemed more glorious than being a glamorous and gallant knight in 16th century Spain so Don
Quixote symbolically represented his patriotism towards Spain. He hides nothing when it comes to his
pride. In fact, he said I know that I can be not only all of those whom I have mentioned, but every one
of the Twelve Peers of France, and every one of the Nine Worthies as well, because all the deeds
performed by them both singly and together will be exceeded by mine (Cervantes 50). Boasting about
exceeding historical figures of chivalry, especially considering the fact the comment was to his
neighbor, demonstrated his yearning dream for fame. Every soldier gives up his or her life with some
hope their lives would be remembered for serving a

On the Google News website USA Today released an article written by Oren Fliegelman and Mary
Beth Marklien entitled Princeton U. to Give Students Meningitis B Vaccine. Princeton University has
been in the process of making the meningitis B vaccine available to students and staff members.
Princeton has began this process after a meningitis out break, which infected six students and campus
visitors. The first of the out breaks occurred in march. According to an e mail sent out by campus
officials, the vaccine should be available in December for the first dose, and the second dose available
in February. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is strongly encouraging all Princeton
students, undergraduate and graduate, living in campus housing to receive a vaccine that protects
against meningitis B. Also, University employees are urged to receive the vaccine, especially if they
have sickle cell disease of other medical conditions that may make them more susceptible to the
disease. Meningococcal, more commonly know as meningitis, is fairly rare. Meningitis can be spread
through kissing, coughing, sharing drinking glasses, and related actions. Physician James Turner
states, Seven cases is a big deal. If my child was at Princeton, I d tell him to get vaccinated. I d take it
very seriously. According to freshman Phillip Powers, people are worried, but are not taking
precautions. Freshman Warren Bein, who expects to get the vaccine states It s better to be safe than
sorry.

The, Matthew, And The Quran
Our Interpretation is Our Reality When an author begins to write a book they usually have a certain
purpose in mind. They might want to convey a message or simply entertain their reader. In the three
Abrahamic texts that we read; Genesis, Matthew, and the Quran, some would argue that the author s
purpose was to create a blueprint for how humans should live their lives; a rather daunting and
consequential task. The main problem is written text, and especially text that was written in 1,400 BC,
and based off of ideals and traditions that date back even further, in the Bibles case, is it s going to
seem outdated and may often be misread or misrepresented. A simple sentence even in modern times
can be twisted and bent to mean just about anything. Ask our politicians. Now think about what could
happen to the meaning and form of ancient text after being rewritten and translated so numerous
times. Human interpretation is key to understanding how misrepresentation has occurred in these
texts. Every person ever to be born into this world is completely different. That means their thoughts,
their values, their morals, and just about everything having to do with them is unique. This being said,
it is no wonder that when two people from opposite sides of the world read an ambiguous text, of
which, it s sole purpose is to govern how we live our lives, there might be some disagreement. This is
why context is so important. If the reader happened to be, say, a Russian person living in a

Qualitative Research-Grounded Theory
Qualitative research is about non numerical data and can be defined as a type of research that is used
to understand a given behavior, and it provides a general knowledge of the issue to develop
hypotheses. This kind of research adds to the nursing practice, science, and knowledge, by filling in
the gaps where quantitative knowledge fails to explain a health problem. In providing a hypothesis, it
sets the grounds for other studies to be done. It is the kind of research that provides clinicians the why
for implementation of a given practice. It does not provide cause and effect. Qualitative research gets
at the how and why of the story, in ways that quantitative research cannot. The key concept of the
study is often referred to as central phenomenon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Article Addicted To Lotteries
In the article, Addicted to Lotteries , by the Week.com, studies have shown that people are becoming
very attracted to lotteries and are wasting their money on this useless game. The likelihood of a person
winning the lottery is slim to none since so many people have purchased a ticket. More poor than
wealthy people play the game because they are hoping to get a lot of money by winning. The poor
people are uneducated so they don t understand when to stop playing the game before they become
addicted. Whether you are rich or poor, lotteries don t improve the well being of anybody. People
spend so much money buying tickets, numbers, and scratch offs and they never really get the money
back by winning. Like mentioned before, people who are uneducated

The Geologic Record
It can be argued by some geologists that significantly more time is lost at bedding planes than is
recorded by the accumulation of sediment and its later lithification into a sedimentary rock. In the
present paper, the continuity of the sedimentary record is investigated. It is hypothesized that
sedimentary strata preserved predominately records episodic sedimentation events and gaps
represented by bedding planes symbolize more time than the preserved strata. The incompleteness of
the geologic record and the role of rare events was studied using data gathered from a variety of
sedimentary outcrops and cores. The author addressed his hypothesis using this collected data in terms
of sediment preservation and represented preservation as a function of two modes of geomorphic
processes: Magnitude and frequency. The author tested his hypothesis using relatively modern storm
events to represent sedimentation, showing how daily processes can distort the geologic record, and
by using ancient examples to illustrate how some storms can be preserved in spectacular condition.
The results of this study support the hypothesis that the stratigraphic record represents episodic
phenomena rather than continuous deposition. When describing fluvial processes, the study was
significant in that infrequent, extremely high magnitude fluvial events in a canyon located below base
level leaves sediment deposits that are preserved for a long period of time. In contrast, frequent floods
occurring the

Drug Testing Memo
The purpose of this memorandum is, adopting a policy regarding illegal drug use in the workplace.
Employees who engage in the illegal use of drugs risk their safety, that of their colleagues and
customers. As part of the company s responsibilities, you should commit to maintaining a healthy and
happy workforce. The policy will provide a formal process to aid employees in dealing with
substances that can negatively impact or impede with work performance. Therefore, it should be
policy to pre employment testing and for cause.
Drug use by employees is an epidemic that can cause many expensive problems such as, injury, lost
productivity and an increase with insurance claims. Additionally, some other risks include, higher
turnover, illegal activities, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All things considered, require employees to sign acknowledgment of receiving policy, and train all
supervisors to identify legitimate interest for drug testing employees.
My research shows that drug testing in the workplace will be beneficial to employers and employees.
Testing can allow employers to maintain productivity and contain health care costs, essentially saving
the company money. Additionally, deterring drug use and increasing motivation. For employees,
increasing morale and ensuring a safe workplace. Also, all employees are performing his or her job
competently. It s stressful when an employee has to pick up the slack for a colleague, through no fault
of their own.
Moving forward, we share a collective responsibility to ensure a safe workplace. I ask for the finances
and time necessary to create and implement this policy. The resources I will need include, establishing
a clear written substance abuse policy, selecting a drug testing lab, educating the employees, train
supervisors determine when testing is warranted and pre employment screening. We can also obtain
support from the resources SAMHSA and health benefit carriers. All things considered, I m hopeful
we can all work together and take the next steps necessary for this to be successful. Please feel free to

Martin Buber was a leader of the Zionist movement which is the belief that the only solution to the
growing anti Semitism in Europe was for there to be an independent Jewish State. The events of World
War 2 made the need for a Jewish State that much greater. The original plan in 1947 was to divide the
land equally between both parties, but only the Jews agreed to the plan. In 1917, the Balfour
Declaration promised a Jewish State in what was at the time Palestine. Contradicting a previous
declaration that the British made that promised the land to the Arabs. On May 14, 1948, David Ben

The Desperation On Johnny s Face
Stopping at the frightened and confused look John was giving him, Roy trailed off, I m sorry.
Too much, Johnny tried explaining.
I was talking too fast? And I was talking about too many subjects? Roy asked slowly.
Nodding, Johnny yawned and gasped.
Shhh, it s okay, Roy soothed, rubbing his arm. You have a lot of wounds on different parts of your
body.
Confused about why he had them, but unable to figure out how to ask, John just looked towards Roy.
Not able to know words, tell me, clear up why, Johnny pleaded in his head, frustrated to feel as though
his mind was trying to think while being encased in mud.
Do you want to know what happened? Why you are hurting now? asked Roy, reading the desperation
on Johnny s face.
Nodding, John groaned as it set off a round of nauseous and increased the thumping inside his head.
Don t worry, you can t get sick, Roy assured him. The doctors have a tube going in your nose that
makes sure that it doesn t happen. I know it s not fun and itches, but it s better than getting sick.
Sighing, John leaned back on the bed and waited for Roy to begin explaining. Starting with the
shortened version of being caught in a fire that caused him to be thrown a bit, Roy then moved on to
let John know the various injuries that were caused by that. Once he went through that, Roy pointed
out each tube and what it was for, hoping that at some level Johnny was understanding it. Considering

Symbolism In Fahrenheit 451, By Ray Bradbury
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is an excellent book that is truly captivating and engaging to all of its
readers. The book is about a time in the future when books are illegal and firemen start fires instead of
stopping them. Society has forgotten what real social interaction is like and everyone prefers to watch
giant televisions instead. It is very engaging and makes the reader feel like he or she is actually in the
book. The symbolism in this book helps understand the story even more. It very much relates to the
type of society we live in today. Fahrenheit 451 is very captivating, and has a lot of symbolism, and
relates very much to the world we live in today. Ray Bradbury does an amazing job of making the
reader feel immersed in the book. He uses very beautiful and descriptive words and sentences. For
example, While the books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wind turned dark with
burning. (Bradbury 1) The type of language he uses here is stunning and makes the reader feel truly
engaged and can imagine being there. Another example, The trees overhead made a great sound of
letting down their dry rain. (Bradbury 3) After reading this you can almost hear the trees blowing in
the wind. He did an excellent job of making the book sounding modern through the 66 years that it has
been published. Fahrenheit 451 has very deep symbolism. The symbolism creates a different meaning
when the book is read. The Hound in the fire station symbolizes the government s control and
regulation. Dogs used to help the firemen and rescue people, but now it just watches the firemen and
makes sure that no one does anything out of line. The same idea can be applied to the government. It
was supposed to help them and guide them, but now it just watches them and keeps people quiet. In
Fahrenheit 451 it has become a watchdog type of government. The Big Brother character in the book
1984 is becoming real today. The government nowadays, if needed, can almost always tell where you
are and track anyone. The city is also compared to a phoenix. A phoenix burns up and then rises up
from his own ashes. This symbolizes a society that falls because of a mistake but then rises again from
its own mistake and becomes

Mathematics Is That Of Pi ( Π )
One of the oldest and most commonly known and used concepts in mathematics is that of Pi (π). In
the earliest of know human civilizations, people realized the importance of finding the exact value of π
for practical reasons. Even by todays standards, we still only need to know the exact value of π to a
few decimal place values, although that hasn t stopped mathematicians from pursuing a more accurate
representation for its value throughout time.
The earliest know approximations for the value of π have been identified on ancient clay tablets, dated
1900 1650 BC, from the Babylonian civilization which states the value of π as (25/8) = 3.125 (4) and
from the Egyptian civilization, from the Rhind Papyrus(1650BC), which approximates the value of π
to be (16/9)^2 = 3.1605. (4) Although these earliest of approximations have been proven to be within
1 percent of todays actual know value, it marks the point of obsession for mathematicians to find an
exact value for π.
The next advancement in determining a more accurate value didn t occur for more than another 1000
years. Around 250 BC, the Greek mathematician Archimedes developed an approach using
circumscribed and inscribed polygons to prove that the value of pi to be between (223/71) π (22/7)
(3.1408 π 3.1429). (23) This geometrical approach was predominantly used by mathematicians for the
next 1000 years, were in 1630 an exact value of π was found to 39 decimal palaces. (12)

Benefits Of A Solid Waste
Beginning on October 20, I started carefully assessing my daily routine and documenting my activities
in regards to my production of solid waste, carbon emissions, and use of fresh water. During those two
weeks, I collected data and examined how I could help reduce my overall ecological footprint and use
of environmental resources through propositions, research, and online calculations.
Solid Waste
Current Routine:
During the week, I begin my day by walking to Mean Greens cafeteria for breakfast. I am provided
with the dishes for my meal, which are all reusable and therefore I do not contribute any waste in
regards to those. I do however use multiple napkins during my meals. Often, I threw away all the
napkins I took, including the ones I did not use. I only used two of the five napkins I got every meal. I
also left food scraps on my plate, which were thrown away and contributed to compost solid waste. I
also go to Mean Greens cafeteria for lunch and dinner and have similar habits when it comes to how
much solid waste I produce during those meals. On average during one week I throw out 30 napkins
and an estimate of two pounds of food. Under circumstances where I cannot make it to the cafeteria to
eat and I need quick and easy access to food, I get fries from Chik Fil A. This usually happens twice a
week on Tuesdays and Thursdays before my environmental science class. I get two large fries in a to

Coffee Is The Best Cup Of Coffee
Lately, coffee has been in all of its glory. Being more popular than ever, with pumpkin spice lattes,
morning coffee runs, and debates on which shop offers the best cup of coffee. No one ever seems to be
interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee machines, and how
those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these questions. Coffee has been
around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The first coffee plants are said to have
come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were not used as
a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together and mix it with
animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors
much needed energy for battle (A Brief History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble
tiny Christmas trees. Originally the beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans
turn their known brown black color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how
long they have been roasted. During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats
became so active, not wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History
of Coffee). Kaldi then took them to his wife, who said they are heaven sent, and must be taken to the
monks. At the monastery, the abot chucked them into the fire claiming

search engine, thus becoming the most successful search engine algorithm developed yet (Robison,
2007). PageRank proved to be efficient in ranking information by assessing the subject matter in
correspondence to the rest of the content (Paparo, Müller, Comeelas, Martin Delgado, 2014).
PageRank allowed Google to move ahead of other search engines as the most used because of its
unique way of filtering content. While other search engines were built on the subjective criteria of the
material featured in the pages, PageRank had an objective character... [with the idea that] the
importance of a page is given by how many pages link to it... [making it] dynamical while other
approaches are static and subjective with the respect to the contents of the pages

Analyze The Benefits Of A Professional Learning Community
A professional learning community is composed of collaborative team whose members work
interpedently to achieve common goals linked to the purpose of learning (Kronowitz, 2012). The
benefits of a professional learning community and new teacher mentor in an educational setting is
great. Both programs meet the needs of students and teachers. The professional learning community
brings educators together sharing ideas, experiences, working together collaboratively, improving
teaching skills and academic performances of the students. Strengthening teachers planning,
mentoring, and providing more strategies.
Professional growth for teachers, instill commitment, and making sure that students succeed.

Common Forms Of Collective Behavior
Collective behavior is a term sociologists use to refer to a miscellaneous set of behaviors in which
large numbers of people engage. More specifically, collective behavior refers to relatively spontaneous
and relatively unstructured behavior by large numbers of individuals acting with or being influenced
by other individuals. Relatively spontaneous means that the behavior is somewhat spontaneous but
also somewhat planned, while relatively unstructured means that the behavior is somewhat organized
and predictable but also somewhat unorganized and unpredictable. As a whole, though, collective
behavior is regarded as less spontaneous and less structured than conventional behavior, such as what
happens in a classroom, a workplace, or the other settings for everyday behavior with which we are
very familiar. As just noted, the term collective behavior refers to a miscellaneous set of behaviors. As
such, these behaviors often have very little in common with each other, even if their basic features
allow them to be classified as collective behavior. Common forms of collective behavior discussed in
this section include crowds, mobs, panics, riots, disaster behavior, rumors, mass hysteria, moral
panics, and fads and crazes. Of these forms, some (crowds, panics, riots, and disasters) involve people
who are generally in each other s presence and who are more or less interacting with each other, while
other forms (rumors, mass hysteria, moral panics, and fads and crazes) involve people

Strengths Of Toyota
For my analysis, I chose Toyota which is the second biggest car company following Volkswagen. It is
known to be really competitive and sold in many places around the world.
Toyota has many strengths. It has a strong global position and cars manufactured by Toyota have been
sold in many places in the world. It sold 9.7 million cars and trucks, and had 45.5% of the market
share in Japan in 2012. It has a market share of 12.2% in North America, 13.4% in Asia and 4.3% in
Europe. (Anon, 2015) Such strong global position is because of company s high quality products and
strong brand recognition with its well known environmental friendliness, durability, social
responsibility, reliablility and value. Toyota also has been the most valuable auto company ... Show

It has conducted a numerous number of vehicle recalls over the last few years, which affected its
brand image and its financial performance. For instance, during 2009 and 2010, more than 9 million
Toyota and Lexus vehicles were recalled due to the wrong floor mats installed that were interfering
with the gas pedal, and the firm suspended production and sales. In 2011, 111,000 vehicles from
Toyota and Lexus were again recalled due to the damage to the element of the substrate shutdown of
hybrid system. And later in the year, Toyota announced to recall 181,000 vehicles due to the non
ordinary noise and oil leakage, which have resulted from the bolts that were loosely attached.
(MacKenzie, 2015) Beside these recalls, there have been lawsuits for vehicle failure. Toyota has a
lower return on equity (13.9%) and return on asset (4.9%) than other auto companies such as Honda
and Nissan. If you compare Toyota and Honda, you can tell that asset turnover ratio for Nissan is 81%,
while Toyota only has 60%. (Basu, 2015) This shows that Honda is using its asset more efficiently to
make profits. Lower return on equity and asset shows that Toyota is not generating much returns for
its shareholders compared to other companies and inefficient use of shareholders

The Treatment Of A Female Child
A female child, under 16 years of age, has been dealing with a number of health issues for several
years. Among them are STDs, bipolar, pregnancy/miscarriage, suicide attempts, and newly discovered
cervical cancer. She has a history of drugs and alcohol and is about 4 weeks into another pregnancy.
She has been expelled from school and is suppose to have home schooling three times a week. These
are canceled most of the time because she is either not at home, or is not able to function that day. This
child has decided not to have any treatment for the cervical cancer as this would prevent her from
being able to become pregnant in the future. She has also decided to have the baby. Apparently she
does not understand the ramifications involved if she does not have the cancer surgery/treatment with
regard to the safety and health of the child she is carrying as well as her own. There have been
numerous professional people involved in the ongoing care of this child. Various doctors,
psychiatrists, Social Services, Child Protective Advocates, the courts, a mentor and school councilors
have been looking out for the welfare of this child for at least 3 years. In spite of the fact that she has a
history of drugs and alcohol, and has anger management issues and suicide attempts, nobody has taken
these red flags seriously enough to protect her from herself. The parents of this child are divorced.
They are also dysfunctional. Problems have existed in this family from the beginning. An

Biological Response To Swimming
Swimming is an activity that demands much physical and mental attention from the partaker. Every
time I go to Hearst Memorial Gym to swim laps, a flurry of activity occurs within my physical
existence. A schedule as full as mine, after all, is stressful and exhausting. Once I enter the pool,
though, most of my academic and social anxieties evaporate. While I may feel relaxed, many
biological responses occur in my body s muscular, nervous, and cardiovascular systems to
accommodate my act of swimming. This is not to say these are the only organ systems involved in the
act of swimming. Rather, I believe they are the most interesting in the context of biological
psychology. Upon diving into the pool, skeletal muscles in the legs, arms, and torso ... Show more

These physiological changes occur in response to the physical stresses of swimming. In the
cardiovascular system, exercise increases the pH of blood as carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations
increase and oxygen (O2) concentrations decrease. This occurs because muscle cells use O2 and
release CO2 as a byproduct; during exercise, more O2 is consumed and more CO2 is released.
Chemoreceptors in the brainstem s medulla oblongata detect increases in blood pH and respond by
triggering the release of neurotransmitters such as epinephrine and norepinephrine (Christensen et al.,
1983). These neurotransmitters (and hormones) trigger the sympathetic nervous system to elevate
heart rate via increased synaptic input to the sinoatrial node. The sympathetic nervous system also
increases respiratory rate to equilibrate CO2 and O2 levels in the bloodstream, dilates blood vessels to
increase laminar blood flow, and increase sweating to release heat by evaporative cooling (Morgan et
al.,

The Death Of The Great War Is England Singing The...
Armistice Day , at the end of the Great War is England singing the holiness of God away, as Brittan
whistles this new song for their conditions for humans spiral out of control by way of poverty,
aloneness, and doubt. During this new dimension, it is not a new song of happiness that comes out of
existence, it is an old song of sadness that is somehow different because of the earth s new conditions.
Unlike any kind of rats in the Trenches that are around them, the vermin are not out to harm souls, but
to destroy most of God s human beings. While they are not able to kill them, they are able to torment
them for years to come. This plague is the same as the smoke of the torment as it seems to rise forever
and ever (Revelation 14:11). The only way to glorify God is to accept His principles of mercy. Mercy
means that God does the performs for His people. If God does the work, then He gets the glory. If
mankind looks away then the smoke will never go away. Just as, right after the war, this smoke is a
forewarning that Satan s purpose in the world is coming to fulfillment as he will embrace the pending
judgments against the torment he is creating.
To Neville s surprise as he watches Britain sink by war debts, trade exports falling, unemployment
rising to double figures, and the Spanish Flu, in retaliation, he vows to make Germany pay . After the
First World War, and the map of Europe is redrawn as several new countries start new, Germany sees a
rebirth in their country

Company Background Of British Petroleum
1. Problem Analysis: Company Background: British Petroleum(BP) is one of the world s top oil and
gas companies, it is also United Kingdom s largest corporation. They mainly deal with Oil but since
the last 40 years or so they have shown great interest in chemicals and plastics, including a range of
specialty products such as detergents, advanced composite materials, and advanced ceramic
engineered materials. BP has more than 16,000 service stations around the world. Around 13% of their
revenue is generated from oil exploration and around 7% of their revenue is generated from producing
chemicals and plastics. Like most oil companies they ve had their fair share of controversies,
especially over the last 50 years or so. Their most recent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was during this period that BP decided to pay close attention to their core businesses and sell any
businesses or operations that did not support their core operations. Horton came to a conclusion that
BP was comprised of three business processes. They were: 1. Upstream Oil and Gas Exploration and
Production 2. Downstream Petro Refining and Marketing 3. Downstream Petrochemical Products The
Upstream process was responsible for feeding both of the two downstream processes and all the three
streams we decoupled and run independently. Basically BP s upstream processes had the liberty to sell
to any of the refining companies and their downstream units can buy oil and gas from any of the
production companies. The most important consideration here was about getting the best possible
price. The management structure was completely changed and different individuals were appointed to
head each stream. During this time BP also started to sell their business units that weren t part of the
three core streams. The massive transformation resulted in a loss of $811 million in 1991. 2.
Alternatives: 1. Focus on what the company is beat at and outsource the side processes: This was
actually the first thing BP did after the massive loss in 1991. They asked themselves the question,
what is the upstream process in BP good at? This resulted in the Upstream team reviewing themselves
and coming to the

Our Retreat Brought Renewal and Hope for Better Days Ahead...
Nine teenage girls and their leaders crammed on outdated bench seats as the smell of various sack
dinners and chocolate filled the borrowed short bus. Vinyl seats cracking, teenage girls laughing and
the makeshift radio blasting we followed behind the boys in their SUV to Woodland Park. The brisk
March wind rattled the old windows of our little white and blue, borrowed bus. Miles of twisting roads
and pine trees that seemed to pierce the low floating clouds lead us to our retreat house. Gravel
crunched beneath our tires, hitting the sides of our bus, creating a rumble under our feet as we pulled
up the drive.
Great gray boulders outlined planters along the front of the patio and knotted wood planking covered
every side of the house. Two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Afterwards, solemn hearts slowly trudged along the staircases to our respective rooms.
Moods lightened as the girls soaked their feet in the master bath tub before lights out. Goldfish, M Ms
and Sour Patch Kids became ammo as we slingshot them across the bathroom to each other using hair
ties. Secrets and random thoughts were whispered under the glow of flashlights until we could no
longer keep our eyes open after lights out. A comfortable silence fell over the house as we all finally
drifted off.
Groggy faces slowly made appearances as the heavenly aroma of bacon and waffles coaxed us from
our dreams before the sun had even crested the mountain ridges, the following morning. Dream
catchers of various sizes fluttered in the pine scented wind on the deck after breakfast. Teams ran
through the trees on a scavenger hunt, breaking the silence as sunlight streamed through the pine
needles. In the afternoon, colorful rays of light poured through the stained glass window as small
groups bonded over boxes of tissues and shared memories of our middle school youth group.
Another intense round of sardines had us piling into hidden cabinets and coat closets. Playful banter
between the more egocentric members of our teams kept the games interesting as we all tried to beat
each other in games of tag and never have I ever.
During solitude we snuck off to the balcony with a view of Pike s Peak. Cloudless skies and chirping
birds surrounded us as we sat

1. Demonstrates an attitude of reflection and thoughtfulness about professional growth and instruction.
Reflections and thoughtfulness about professional growth and instruction has become a part of my
everyday routine while I have been student teaching. After each day, I take time to think about how
the lessons for the day went and what I could do to improve as a teacher. Also, I get feedback from my
mentor teacher and the co teacher in the classroom on things that they noticed that I could improve on.

During student teaching, I had to demonstrate thoughtfulness in communication and an awareness and
appreciation of varying voices in several different ways. First I had to get and open line of
communication with my mentor teacher by email and in person. In emails I had to let her know when
and what activities I needed to complete in her classroom. Then in person, I had to be open and aware
of feedback and comments my mentor teacher was giving me. I have communication with parents at

  • 2. Analysis of New Social Movement Theory Essay Analysis of New Social Movement Theory Works Cited Not Included In Johnston, Laraña, and Gusfield s discussion of New Social Movement (NSM) theory, they identify the concept as a double edged sword, in that is has both related itself to the changing shape of society but also overemphasized the newness of its model, almost divorcing itself from previous social movement theories instead of acknowledging and assessing the similarities between them and integrating what is useful from theories of the past. As its basic framework asserts that social movements now are not as linked to class as they were in the time of the emergence of Marxism and at the height of industrialist society (as Resource Mobilization Theory might stress), new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second characteristic of NSM s is tied to the first, in that groups no longer tend to share an over arching ideological framework, whereas in Marxist discourse, such a shared frame was the unifying and totalizing element for collective action (Buechler Cylke 277). Ideological unity has been supplanted by pragmatic orientations where movement members seek institutional reform to attain greater power in decision making processes, promoting a democratizing dynamic in social movement discourse. The third characteristic describes the mode of identity formation that is predominant in NSM s, whose center tends to be cultural and symbolic issues, in contrast to the mobilization around economic grievances in other social movements (Buechler Cylke 277). The shared symbols and cultural meanings of members of NSM s serve to redefine daily life in the context of the movement. A blurring between public and private action or relation between the individual and the collective is the fourth and a very prominent trait of NSM s (Buechler Cylke 277). The hippie movement and vegetarianism are good examples of private behaviors being perceived as part of a social movement or being connected to a collective identity. Johnston, et al. explain this by indicating that in and through movements that have no clear class or structural base, the movement becomes the focus for the individual s definition of himself or herself, and ... • 3. The Death Of A Salesman By Arthur Miller And Fences And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream, Martin Luther King Jr. The American Dream is simply the idea that every person has the same chance to achieve success through hard work. The Death of Salesman by Arthur Miller and Fences by August Wilson closely hold a relatable pursuit of the American dream. In both texts, the parents and children were torn apart from each other because of their pursuit of the American Dream. This goal (American Dream) tears the families apart because in Fences Cory wants to follow Troy s footsteps by playing a professional sport, but Troy doesn t want him to get involved in sports because of he has experienced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s whose fault it is!, (Miller 131). Both of these fathers want to see their family succeed, but get caught up in family problems and both end up passing away. The mothers of these plays were key contributors to attempting to help their families get back together. Rose tries to bring her family back together by making the boy build a fence in the quote, Cory:I don t see why Mama want a fence around the yard nowadays. Troy: Damn if i know either. What the hell she keeping out with it? She ain t got nothing nobody want. Bono:Some people build to keep others out... and other people build fences to keep people in. Rose wants to hold on to you all. She loves you, (Wilson 2.1.32). This is a great point made by Nono because Rose is trying to make the boys bond by making them put together a fence, symbolising the reconstruction of their relationship. In the Death of a Salesman, Linda repeatedly attempts to keep the family together, especially in the quote, Biff: Will you let me go, for Christ s sake? Will you take that phony dream and burn it before something happens? I ll go in the morning. Put him put him to bed. Willy: Isn t that isn t that remarkable? Biff he likes me! LINDA: He loves you, Willy!, (Miller 133). This perfectly showcases how Linda is a vital piece to the Loman family, because without her their family would probably have been separated. • 4. Formaldehyde Research Paper Formaldehyde is a colorless and flammable gas. It is used in many cosmetic products to aid in preventing bacteria growth. This chemical can be found in many different personal care products including nail polish, body washes, shampoos, cleansers, eye shadows, and nail polish treatments. The most common side effect of Formaldehyde are allergic skin reactions. It has been found to cause irritation of the eyes, nose, and skin. But, it as also been linked to nasal and nasopharyngeal cancers. It is somewhat difficult to figure out if your cosmetics contain Formaldehyde because most product labels won t tell you if it is or isn t present. However, you can figure it out yourself by checking for various chemicals. Some chemicals that are related to Formaldehyde are DMDM hydantoin, Imidazolidinyl urea, and Bronopol. Hydroquinone Hydroquinoe is a compound found in numerous skin products that is used for lightening skin. It is contained in a lot of products that are aimed towards reducing the appearance of dark spots, freckles, and acne scars. Hydroquinoe unfortunately does cause some dangerous health concerns. For one, it causes skin irritation. Using this ingredient regularly can result in your skin starting to irritate. Some people have even experienced extreme redness and itching when they applied it to their skin. There are many alternatives to using products that contain hydroquinone. If you are searching for a skin whitening product, look for one that is made of natural ingredients such as mandelic acid and alpha hydroxy acids. Using products with these natural ingredients are way safer than using products that contain hydroquinone. However, remember that even though skin whitening can help many skin problems, it should only be used for treating problem regions, not for using all over. • 5. Part One Of Don Quixote By Miguel De Cervantes Entering a fantasy land like Disney World is one thing; reconstructing the real world into a fantasy land is another. The reconfiguration of the real world into an imaginary one summarizes what Part One of Don Quixote, written by Miguel de Cervantes, is about. The story narrates a parody of Spain s historical idea of chivalry by starring Don Quixote, a man obsessed with nobility. Don Quixote walks through a knight errant journey with the faithful peasant Sancho Panza and creates the journey by mentally transforming everything, such as Spain s prostitutes into ladies, windmills into ferocious giants, inns into luxurious castles, etc. Contrary to the main overview of the story, Cervantes didn t simply write Part One of Don Quixote to poke fun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first goal suggests pride, the second, faith. These two qualities speak loudly for why Don Quixote dreamed of fighting in the name of chivalry. Now Quixote s weakness in these two qualities certainly affect his character, but it s the strengths that make him admire knights. In regards to fame, nothing seemed more glorious than being a glamorous and gallant knight in 16th century Spain so Don Quixote symbolically represented his patriotism towards Spain. He hides nothing when it comes to his pride. In fact, he said I know that I can be not only all of those whom I have mentioned, but every one of the Twelve Peers of France, and every one of the Nine Worthies as well, because all the deeds performed by them both singly and together will be exceeded by mine (Cervantes 50). Boasting about exceeding historical figures of chivalry, especially considering the fact the comment was to his neighbor, demonstrated his yearning dream for fame. On the Google News website USA Today released an article written by Oren Fliegelman and Mary Beth Marklien entitled Princeton U. to Give Students Meningitis B Vaccine. • 8. The, Matthew, And The Quran Our Interpretation is Our Reality When an author begins to write a book they usually have a certain purpose in mind. They might want to convey a message or simply entertain their reader. In the three Abrahamic texts that we read; Genesis, Matthew, and the Quran, some would argue that the author s purpose was to create a blueprint for how humans should live their lives; a rather daunting and consequential task. The main problem is written text, and especially text that was written in 1,400 BC, and based off of ideals and traditions that date back even further, in the Bibles case, is it s going to seem outdated and may often be misread or misrepresented. A simple sentence even in modern times can be twisted and bent to mean just about anything. Ask our politicians. Now think about what could happen to the meaning and form of ancient text after being rewritten and translated so numerous times. Human interpretation is key to understanding how misrepresentation has occurred in these texts. Every person ever to be born into this world is completely different. That means their thoughts, their values, their morals, and just about everything having to do with them is unique. This being said, it is no wonder that when two people from opposite sides of the world read an ambiguous text, of which, it s sole purpose is to govern how we live our lives, there might be some disagreement. This is why context is so important. If the reader happened to be, say, a Russian person living in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This kind of research adds to the nursing practice, science, and knowledge, by filling in the gaps where quantitative knowledge fails to explain a health problem. In providing a hypothesis, it sets the grounds for other studies to be done. It is the kind of research that provides clinicians the why for implementation of a given practice. • 11. The Geologic Record It can be argued by some geologists that significantly more time is lost at bedding planes than is recorded by the accumulation of sediment and its later lithification into a sedimentary rock. In the present paper, the continuity of the sedimentary record is investigated. It is hypothesized that sedimentary strata preserved predominately records episodic sedimentation events and gaps represented by bedding planes symbolize more time than the preserved strata. The incompleteness of the geologic record and the role of rare events was studied using data gathered from a variety of sedimentary outcrops and cores. The author addressed his hypothesis using this collected data in terms of sediment preservation and represented preservation as a function of two modes of geomorphic processes: Magnitude and frequency. The author tested his hypothesis using relatively modern storm events to represent sedimentation, showing how daily processes can distort the geologic record, and by using ancient examples to illustrate how some storms can be preserved in spectacular condition. The results of this study support the hypothesis that the stratigraphic record represents episodic phenomena rather than continuous deposition. When describing fluvial processes, the study was significant in that infrequent, extremely high magnitude fluvial events in a canyon located below base level leaves sediment deposits that are preserved for a long period of time. In contrast, frequent floods occurring the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Martin Buber Research Paper Martin Buber was a leader of the Zionist movement which is the belief that the only solution to the growing anti Semitism in Europe was for there to be an independent Jewish State. The events of World War 2 made the need for a Jewish State that much greater. The original plan in 1947 was to divide the land equally between both parties, but only the Jews agreed to the plan. In 1917, the Balfour Declaration promised a Jewish State in what was at the time Palestine. Contradicting a previous declaration that the British made that promised the land to the Arabs. On May 14, 1948, David Ben Gurion declared Israel an independent Jewish State. And I was talking about too many subjects? Roy asked slowly. Nodding, Johnny yawned and gasped. Shhh, it s okay, Roy soothed, rubbing his arm. You have a lot of wounds on different parts of your body. Confused about why he had them, but unable to figure out how to ask, John just looked towards Roy. Not able to know words, tell me, clear up why, Johnny pleaded in his head, frustrated to feel as though his mind was trying to think while being encased in mud. Do you want to know what happened? Why you are hurting now? asked Roy, reading the desperation on Johnny s face. Nodding, John groaned as it set off a round of nauseous and increased the thumping inside his head. The book is about a time in the future when books are illegal and firemen start fires instead of stopping them. Society has forgotten what real social interaction is like and everyone prefers to watch giant televisions instead. It is very engaging and makes the reader feel like he or she is actually in the book. The symbolism in this book helps understand the story even more. It very much relates to the type of society we live in today. Fahrenheit 451 is very captivating, and has a lot of symbolism, and relates very much to the world we live in today. Ray Bradbury does an amazing job of making the reader feel immersed in the book. He uses very beautiful and descriptive words and sentences. For example, While the books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wind turned dark with burning. (Bradbury 1) The type of language he uses here is stunning and makes the reader feel truly engaged and can imagine being there. Another example, The trees overhead made a great sound of letting down their dry rain. (Bradbury 3) After reading this you can almost hear the trees blowing in the wind. He did an excellent job of making the book sounding modern through the 66 years that it has been published. Fahrenheit 451 has very deep symbolism. The symbolism creates a different meaning when the book is read. The Hound in the fire station symbolizes the government s control and regulation. Dogs used to help the firemen and rescue people, but now it just watches the firemen and makes sure that no one does anything out of line. The same idea can be applied to the government. It was supposed to help them and guide them, but now it just watches them and keeps people quiet. In Fahrenheit 451 it has become a watchdog type of government. The Big Brother character in the book 1984 is becoming real today. The government nowadays, if needed, can almost always tell where you are and track anyone. The city is also compared to a phoenix. A phoenix burns up and then rises up from his own ashes. This symbolizes a society that falls because of a mistake but then rises again from its own mistake and becomes ... • 17. Mathematics Is That Of Pi ( Π ) One of the oldest and most commonly known and used concepts in mathematics is that of Pi (π). In the earliest of know human civilizations, people realized the importance of finding the exact value of π for practical reasons. Even by todays standards, we still only need to know the exact value of π to a few decimal place values, although that hasn t stopped mathematicians from pursuing a more accurate representation for its value throughout time. The earliest know approximations for the value of π have been identified on ancient clay tablets, dated 1900 1650 BC, from the Babylonian civilization which states the value of π as (25/8) = 3.125 (4) and from the Egyptian civilization, from the Rhind Papyrus(1650BC), which approximates the value of π to be (16/9)^2 = 3.1605. (4) Although these earliest of approximations have been proven to be within 1 percent of todays actual know value, it marks the point of obsession for mathematicians to find an exact value for π. The next advancement in determining a more accurate value didn t occur for more than another 1000 years. Around 250 BC, the Greek mathematician Archimedes developed an approach using circumscribed and inscribed polygons to prove that the value of pi to be between (223/71) π (22/7) (3.1408 π 3.1429). (23) This geometrical approach was predominantly used by mathematicians for the next 1000 years, were in 1630 an exact value of π was found to 39 decimal palaces. • 19. Benefits Of A Solid Waste Beginning on October 20, I started carefully assessing my daily routine and documenting my activities in regards to my production of solid waste, carbon emissions, and use of fresh water. During those two weeks, I collected data and examined how I could help reduce my overall ecological footprint and use of environmental resources through propositions, research, and online calculations. Solid Waste Current Routine: During the week, I begin my day by walking to Mean Greens cafeteria for breakfast. I am provided with the dishes for my meal, which are all reusable and therefore I do not contribute any waste in regards to those. I do however use multiple napkins during my meals. Often, I threw away all the napkins I took, including the ones I did not use. I only used two of the five napkins I got every meal. I also left food scraps on my plate, which were thrown away and contributed to compost solid waste. I also go to Mean Greens cafeteria for lunch and dinner and have similar habits when it comes to how much solid waste I produce during those meals. On average during one week I throw out 30 napkins and an estimate of two pounds of food. Under circumstances where I cannot make it to the cafeteria to eat and I need quick and easy access to food, I get fries from Chik Fil A. This usually happens twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays before my environmental science class. I get two large fries in a to go bag, which are all thrown away after I am done eating. • 20. Coffee Is The Best Cup Of Coffee Lately, coffee has been in all of its glory. Being more popular than ever, with pumpkin spice lattes, morning coffee runs, and debates on which shop offers the best cup of coffee. No one ever seems to be interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee machines, and how those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these questions. Coffee has been around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The first coffee plants are said to have come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were not used as a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together and mix it with animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors much needed energy for battle (A Brief History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble tiny Christmas trees. Originally the beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans turn their known brown black color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how long they have been roasted. During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats became so active, not wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History of Coffee). Kaldi then took them to his wife, who said they are heaven sent, and must be taken to the monks. At the monastery, the abot chucked them into the fire claiming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Named after Larry Page, PageRank rests at the centre of Google s well known and widespread search engine, thus becoming the most successful search engine algorithm developed yet (Robison, 2007). PageRank proved to be efficient in ranking information by assessing the subject matter in correspondence to the rest of the content (Paparo, Müller, Comeelas, Martin Delgado, 2014). • 23. Common Forms Of Collective Behavior Collective behavior is a term sociologists use to refer to a miscellaneous set of behaviors in which large numbers of people engage. More specifically, collective behavior refers to relatively spontaneous and relatively unstructured behavior by large numbers of individuals acting with or being influenced by other individuals. Relatively spontaneous means that the behavior is somewhat spontaneous but also somewhat planned, while relatively unstructured means that the behavior is somewhat organized and predictable but also somewhat unorganized and unpredictable. As a whole, though, collective behavior is regarded as less spontaneous and less structured than conventional behavior, such as what happens in a classroom, a workplace, or the other settings for everyday behavior with which we are very familiar. As just noted, the term collective behavior refers to a miscellaneous set of behaviors. As such, these behaviors often have very little in common with each other, even if their basic features allow them to be classified as collective behavior. Common forms of collective behavior discussed in this section include crowds, mobs, panics, riots, disaster behavior, rumors, mass hysteria, moral panics, and fads and crazes. Of these forms, some (crowds, panics, riots, and disasters) involve people who are generally in each other s presence and who are more or less interacting with each other, while other forms (rumors, mass hysteria, moral panics, and fads and crazes) involve people ... Once I enter the pool, though, most of my academic and social anxieties evaporate. While I may feel relaxed, many biological responses occur in my body s muscular, nervous, and cardiovascular systems to accommodate my act of swimming. These physiological changes occur in response to the physical stresses of swimming. In the cardiovascular system, exercise increases the pH of blood as carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations increase and oxygen (O2) concentrations decrease. This occurs because muscle cells use O2 and release CO2 as a byproduct; during exercise, more O2 is consumed and more CO2 is released. Chemoreceptors in the brainstem s medulla oblongata detect increases in blood pH and respond by triggering the release of neurotransmitters such as epinephrine and norepinephrine (Christensen et al., 1983). These neurotransmitters (and hormones) trigger the sympathetic nervous system to elevate heart rate via increased synaptic input to the sinoatrial node. The sympathetic nervous system also increases respiratory rate to equilibrate CO2 and O2 levels in the bloodstream, dilates blood vessels to increase laminar blood flow, and increase sweating to release heat by evaporative cooling (Morgan et al., ... Armistice Day , at the end of the Great War is England singing the holiness of God away, as Brittan whistles this new song for their conditions for humans spiral out of control by way of poverty, aloneness, and doubt. During this new dimension, it is not a new song of happiness that comes out of existence, it is an old song of sadness that is somehow different because of the earth s new conditions. Unlike any kind of rats in the Trenches that are around them, the vermin are not out to harm souls, but to destroy most of God s human beings. While they are not able to kill them, they are able to torment them for years to come. This plague is the same as the smoke of the torment as it seems to rise forever and ever (Revelation 14:11). The only way to glorify God is to accept His principles of mercy. Mercy means that God does the performs for His people. If God does the work, then He gets the glory.
