for 5th graders. Students learn how to read and translate scaled blueprints in order to build a wooden
boat that they will later row (or sail). Throughout the entire semester they are taught about the local
history and skills needed when out on the water. The goal of this program is to increase education in
STEM, because that is what the majority of students these days lack, math being the worst. To achieve
this goal, LMS is working with the College of Charleston to improve the curriculum, train students to
teach, and allow them to get involved.

The elephants are suffering from a shrinking size habitat due to the rapidly growing human
populations. Majority of the Asian elephant s once spacious habitat has been separated into small

I have been asked to design and build a piece of equipment using the available apparatus that follows

The design we came up with is in the picture below and the reason I came up with this simple design

We used 2 limit switches that also stopped the circuit if the yaw point went too far they would push
the limit switch and stop the relays that powered the motor.

The motor we used was a 12v dc motor. This motor moved both clockwise and anticlockwise when
polarity was changed through the way the relays are wired.
When we wired up this circuit and done a few tests on it we found that because it was a dc circuit it
had some voltage drop. We done a calculation to figure out what would be the best size of capacitor
we could put into the circuit in order to smooth it out.

We then placed 1x 470uF and 2x 100uF capacitor in parallel and tested the wave form again and it
showed a more clear and steady wave than before. We then knew we had this problem sorted.

but the motor was going far too fast so what I done was put a voltage regulator that changed the
voltage from 15v dc to 5v dc which I then used to power the motor. However, I still used the 12v dc to

Marriage with the Quran is one form of marriage practiced in Sindh, a province of Pakistan (Uzma,
2003) (Akhtar and Métraux, 2013: 42,). According to The Friday Times of Pakistan, a large number of
feudals in Sindh have married their daughter or sisters to the Quran(Uzma, 2003) (Akhtar and
Métraux, 2013:43). This marriage is followed by a ceremony where the girl has to take a bath (Uzma,

The protest song selected for this report was We Shall Overcome (Various Artists, 1945) written by
various artists, with lyrics originating from an older activist s hymn. This report will cover the history,
purpose, lasting effects, and the value of We Shall Overcome and its predecessor I ll Overcome
Someday . We Shall Overcome the protest song has found itself tied to multiple social movements,
however, its origin has its roots planted in the civil rights movement. After researching about this song
I came across the fact that the lyrics and the style of the song originated from I ll Overcome Some Day
, a hymn created by Charles Albert Tindley, An East Coast Methodist Minister, in 1901. Charles
Tindley was the son of an African American slave father and free mother. It wasn t until the mid 1940s
(ten years after Charles had passed on, leaving behind a lifetime of community work and activism)
that we see the first rendition of the modern We Shall Overcome as a protest song by a tobacco and
food union group. A few short years later in 1947 this song s title was recognized as We Shall
Overcome in an edition of people s songs bulletin , a publication directed by Pete Seeger, who is very
well known for his rendition of this song and many others. This song is an anthem, a chant if you will.
