Casablanca Film Analysis
Casablanca was released in 1942 by the director Michael Curtiz. The film was considered one of the
best motion pictures ever made. The film s multinational cast, strong emotions, and the love triangle
helped it become a classic film remembered for all time. The scene I will analyze is the last scene in
the film where Rick Blaine and Ilsa were saying their final goodbyes as an airplane was in the
background setting was one of the greatest scenes in the history of romantic films and the history of
cinema itself.
This scene had four main characters who were Rick Blaine played by Humphrey Bogart, Ilsa Lund
played by Ingrid Bergman, Victor Laszlo played by Paul Henreid, and Captain Louis Renault played
by Claude Rains. Rick Blaine was the owner of Rick s Café Américain. He appears in the whole film
to be a man who is not moved by anyone. After seeing Ilsa again ... Show more content on

However, at the end of the film Rick becomes the hero and he sacrifices his love to Ilsa and his life in
Casablanca so that Victor Laszlo can get away with Ilsa and finish his political work. Ilsa is extremely
loyal to her husband, Victor Laszlo. She believes she love Laszlo, but on the other hand she also says
that she is in love with Rick, back when they were in Paris and also after she arrived to Casablanca.
Her feelings are always dreamy and vague which makes it hard to understand what she wants. Ilsa
didn t had an easy life, and one of the greatest tragic in the whole film is her fate. Finally, at the
closing scene of the film, one can feel that the chances of Ilsa living happily ever after ending do not
exist. Victor Laszlo is

Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles
Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the
modpoint of the opposite side, we have:
■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.)
And in this case (1) becomes (2):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°).
Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3)
into (2) yields to (4):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A).
Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6):
2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A).
Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7):
3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC
As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is
equilateral:
IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3).
The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved.
Answer: Proved.
Rotating by the point:
Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120°, and superimpose the
rotated copy on the original figure.
Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself).
Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively. Because
of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE.
Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular
GH=GG.HH.
Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. Triangles ∆ABD, ∆ACF and ∆A.EE.BB are
equilateral.
The angles of triangles sum to 180° and

Taking a Look at Electroencephalography
The field of neuroscience is rapidly expanding; recent understanding of brain function has expanded
the study of infant brains. Novel neuroscientific techniques will enhance treatment, diagnosis, and
growth of the infant brain. Interest in the treatment of neurological diseases and cures dates back many
years (Wendel, 2010) and with a new focus on the infant brain researchers hope to find answers that
will pinpoint major causes of infant brain disorders.
Studies on the subject of human brain appear regularly in the fields of psychiatry and neuroscience.
Breakthroughs in the field are due primarily to technological advances in brain imaging, with most
studies employing at least one kind of brain scan to current research. The five most popular brain
scanning techniques are: Electroencephalography (EEG), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), Magnetic
Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Computerized Tomography
(CT) (Scanning the brain, n.d., para. 4).
EEG, MEG, functional MRI (fMRI), and PET all play important roles in correlating a person s neural
metabolism and the activity of local cranial microvasculature with mental functions (Wolbarst,
Capasso, Wyant, 2013). Both EEG and MEG recordings capture neurophysiologically generated
signals with excellent temporal resolution (Wolbarst, Capasso, Wyant, 2013). Infant brains, however,
can be studied with either EEG or MEG. Because EEG is readily available in the neuroscience lab,
and we deal solely with

A Great Racial Commission Summary
A Great Racial Commission: Religion and the Construction of White America Summary
During the nineteenth century, Whites illustrated themselves as a superior race. To prove that they are
the superior race, they observed different races to show the differences between other races compare
to themselves. Whites used Religion as a factor to convert non White Americans into Christians.
White tried to make the Anglo Saxon race equal with Christianity by turning them to Christ, White
Americans hoped to make veritable Anglo Saxons of all of the people in America (Lee 86). Whites
also used their economic and political power to show their effectiveness as a race. Lee used many

Bhopal Disaster
ASSIGNMENT 1 TITLE:BHOPAL DISASTER DATE: 30 NOVEMBER 2009 1. Abstract The night
of 3rd December marked an industrial disaster when more than 40 tons of methyl isocyanate gas
leaked from a pesticide plant in Bhopal, India that instantly led to the death of approximately 3,800
people and causing permanent injuries for thousands more. The company involved shamelessly tried
to avoid its legal responsibility. Nonetheless, a sum of $470 million was paid as compensation, a
considerably small amount in comparison to the impact from the consequences of this tragedy. The
aftermath of the disaster indicated the need for international standards for environmental safety and
preventive strategies to sustain from similar accidents. India has ... Show more content on

Furthermore, the location of the plant being situated nearby a large lake guaranteed sufficient water
supple for the chemical processes. Electricity needs were also available in Bhopal to supply enough
electricity to the plant that enabled the plant to operate 24 hours. The origin on the Bhopal plant was
to supply pesticide in order to protect the Indian agricultural production. These pesticides were made
to cater to the Indian market and to gain the ability to transform its agricultural sector into a modern
activity. No doubt the benefits, the plant also had its perks. India is still nonetheless a developing
country which at current still lacks the infrastructure necessary to support this chemical plant.
Nevertheless, companies invested in the plant failing to realize the flaws in the infrastructure. The
impracticality of the plant s management brought the creation of a low cost plant with minimal safety
features. UCIL also had weak policies, procedures and regulations for their workers. The management
s goals and missions were set beyond the plant s capability and this is said to be one of the main
causes of the tragedy. 4. Industrial Processes and Operation Union Carbide is a known plant that

The Aftermath Of Hurricane Katrina
1. INTRODUCTION
During the Hurricane Katrina in 2005, even though the National Weather Service (NWS) had
forecasted the storm characteristics information on wind speed, storm surge and rainfall accurately, the
local authorities responded inadequately (Kent, 2006; Basher, 2006). The aftermath of Hurricane
Katrina pumps a series of discussions on emergency responses in a hurricane hazard (e.g., Basher,
2006; Kent, 2006; Kamarck, 2007; Spencer, 2013). Researches draw their attention to this discussion
focused on three questions: (1) who should be in charge (e.g., Kamarck, 2007; Badiru and Racz, 2013;
Barnhill, 2013; Cova et al., in press)? (2) To do what (e.g., Lindell and Perry 1992; Kim et al., 2006;

According to the Protective Action Decision Model (PADM) by Lindell and Perry (1992; 2004; 2012)
which summarized previous researches on public s responses to environmental threats, people would
be made aware of a threat by social warnings, social cues, and environmental cues (Huang, Lindell
Prater, in press a; Lindell, in press), then assess their risk and identify potentials protective actions
(PAs), and ultimately take an appropriate PA (Huang et al., 2012, Huang, Lindell Prater, in press b).
Hence, local authorities, on the one hand, have the responsibilities to carry the PARs to the people
who are at risk (Basher, 2006; Lindell and Perry, 2012), whereas risk area households response efforts,
on the other hand, would rely on the guidance of officials PARs (Baker 1991, 1995; Huang et al. in
press a; Lin et al. 2014). However, households response efforts are often limited by their information
availability (Chen et al., 2007). Consequently, the failure of the delivery of the appropriate PARs in
time would either set those households in danger or push them to follow peers response actions
(Huang et al., 2012; Huang, Lindell Prater, in press a; b). It is a significant gap Cova et al. (in press)
has pointed out that local authorities tend to struggle on PARs selections and the triggers from wait
and see to take immediate action (see also Dye, Eggers, and Shapira, 2014). Nonetheless, there are

Atticus The Homeless Man Research Paper
While I was racking my brain of a time when I took Atticus Finch s advise and walked in someone
else s shoes, I started thinking. I realised that you really cannot get to know someone better by pulling
on their shoes. One can only follow the footsteps so far as the place the shoes were found. Sure, if one
looks at a homeless man s shoes compared to a wealthy banker s, then one would easily be able to tell
whos was whos; but one could not possibly be able to know why the homeless man is sleeping on a
bench instead of a warm bed just by examining the article of clothing he uses to keep his feet warm. In
most busy cities, people look down while walking to work, school, or the local Starbucks. With
everyone looking down, one would think the people

Treatment Of Schizophrenia And Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Some of the common psychiatric disorders that are experienced by patients include depression,
schizophrenia and generalized anxiety disorder. The psychiatric disorders may be caused by both
genetic and environmental factors. All these disorders of the mind greatly affect the quality of life of
the sufferers. Depression may affect any individual at any stage of life and the symptoms include lack
of interest and generalized low moods. The treatment for depression includes psychotherapy,
pharmacotherapy and an unpopular method; electroconvulsive therapy when the disease is extensive
(Watson, 2005). The complications in the treatment of the disease include headaches and
disorientation. Schizophrenia is disease of the mind that makes it arduous for an individual to tell
between the real and what is unreal. The symptoms of schizophrenia include obscured thinking
depression and hallucinations among others. The treatment of schizophrenia ranges from
pharmacotherapy to psychosocial interventions such as skills training, family therapy and cognitive
remediation among others. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), in which the sufferer is constantly
worried about several things, is characterized with incapability to let go of trivial matters that concern
an individual. The sufferers are unable of thinking clearly as their mind is clouded with varied
thoughts of worry. GAD has similar symptoms to panic disorder and other anxiety disorders. The

History Of Home Video Game
History of Home Video Game Consoles The video game industry has gone through some interesting
developments over the past fifty years. Video games are as much of a pass time as watching network
television, or going to see a movie. The initial motivation for video game production was to bring
interested consumers to the computer market and has evolved into many forms and designs to give the
end user an artificial experience of playing table tennis with a friend, or an imaginary friend. This
paper will cover the history of video game consoles that were released from 1958 until present day.

making it the first video game patent in history. Magnavox was given the license and they developed
the Odyssey in 1972 making it the world s first home video game.
During the same year, Atari was launched by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney and Pong was released,
becoming the first video game to reach a mainstream audience. In 1976, Coleco released its first
console called Telstar and Fairfield Camera Instrument released theirs called Channel F. The Telstar
console had games programmed into the hardware and newer models would introduce new game titles

individual cartridges that resembled 8 track audio tapes.
Atari released their first cartridge based system in 1977 which was first known as the Video Computer
System, later called the Atari 2600. In 1978, Midway Games released Space Invaders, the first game

Self Identity By Anthony Giddens
Project of the self is one of the most significant concepts created by Anthony Giddens. The author
bases his ideas of self identification upon influence of the modern world and changes created by the
process of globalization (Giddens, 1991). The main argument is strong. However the study seeks some
further explanations of the role of identity in the social life of individuals.
This essay will investigate issue of self identity in the modern world according to Antony Giddens s
ideas. Firstly, it will be considered how the concept of self identity is created in the modern world.
After that identities will be explained in terms of Giddens s opinion. It will be given an overview of
the main Giddens s work on self identity (Giddens, 1991). Then Giddens s Project of the self will be
scrutinised. After that Giddens s approach to self identification will be critically analysed. There will
be outlined strength and weaknesses of the Giddens s study on self identity. The essay will be finished
by evaluation of Giddens s Project of the self .
The world has become modern and global. Identification of the self is a complicated, though, an
important problem of every individual. Self identity is based on inner values and reflections on
culture, politics and social interactions. The main point is that people label themselves to any
particular group in the society (Worchel etc., 1998). According to Ferguson: Identity commonly refers

Genetic Engineering Negative Essay
After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since genes
are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of biological
science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic engineering is
a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism. It can be utilized to
raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living organisms. In other
words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an organism. When an innovative
idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports the idea and one that opposes it.
Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food, get increasingly more involved in
human lives, people start to debate whether genetically engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On
the surface of the issue, genetic engineering seems to only serve benefits. However, while the
development of genetic engineering can change our world for the better, it has various negative
influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful toward the agricultural environment; it
acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems. Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the
technology carefully, before they over develop it to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which
can impair the entire human race.

St. Francis Xavier Church In Kearns
In Kearns, Utah a sacramental bread symbolically received as the Body of Christ during a Catholic
mass communion at St. Francis Xavier Church reportedly bled for three days after it was returned.
Daily Mail reports the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City has appointed a committee to investigate the
miraculous incident of the bleeding consecrated Host, reportedly returned by a young parishioner to a
priest last week.
Traditionally, a leftover host is not thrown away once consecrated. It s usually dissolved in water until
it totally turns liquid, and poured into a special sink down to the ground. In this case, however, a
strange phenomenon happened.
Recently, reports of a bleeding host at St. Francis Xavier Church in Kearns have been circulating
within the diocese, wrote Diocese of Salt Lake City committee head Monsignor M. Francis Mannion
in a statement. The host is now in the custody of the Diocesan Administrator. Contrary to rumor, there

death. It was through Christ s death and resurrection that made unbelievers believe that God is real
and it is through the gospel spoken at Christian churches for more than a thousand years that continue
to make more people believe.

Backward Design
Understanding by Design by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe
Backward Design
Why backward is best
Deliberate and focused instructional design requires us as teachers and curriculum writers to make an
important shift in our thinking about the nature of our job. The shift involves thinking a great deal,
first, about the specific learnings sought, and the evidence of such learnings, before thinking about
what we, as the teacher, will do or provide in teaching and learning activities. Though considerations
about what to teach and how to teach it may dominate our thinking as a matter of habit, the challenge
is to focus first on the desired learnings from which appropriate teaching will logically follow.
Our lessons, units, and courses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Answering the why? and so what? questions that older students always ask (or want to), and doing so
in concrete terms as the focus of curriculum planning, is thus the essence of understanding by design.
What is difficult for many teachers to see (but easier for students to feel!) is that, without such explicit
and transparent priorities, many students find day to day work confusing and frustrating.
The twin sins of traditional design
More generally, weak educational design involves two kinds of purposelessness, visible throughout
the educational world from kindergarten through graduate school. We call these the twin sins of
traditional design. The error of activity oriented design might be called hands on without being minds
on engaging experiences that lead only accidentally, if at all, to insight or achievement. The activities,
though fun and interesting, do not lead anywhere intellectually. Such activity oriented curricula lack
an explicit focus on important ideas and appropriate evidence of learning, especially in the minds of
the learners.
A second form of aimlessness goes by the name of coverage, an approach in which students march
through a textbook, page by page (or teachers through lecture notes) in a valiant attempt to

Critical Analysis Of I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
Kevin Young s I am Trying to Break Your Heart examines the dark and chaotic nature of trying to heal
from emotional damage. Addressing a lover, the speaker uses twisted and macabre diction to describe
the dark feelings that brew within him. These sinister desires to harm the lover shine through in the
terse language and erratic structure, as well as. The 2008 poem alludes to a Wilco song of the same
name, wherein the speaker describes his heartache after leaving his lover and facing regret concerning
the situation. This is alluded to in stanzas 12 and 13 when Young writes ... I assassin / down the
avenue, (22 23) the second line of the song. Without taking note of this allusion, the poem would seem
as if Young is portraying himself as a manipulator seeking to gain power over his lover. But through
referencing the 2002 song I am Trying to Break Your Heart by Jeff Tweedy, Young clarifies his intent.
The poem is meant to illustrate the chaotic and destructive nature of healing from emotional damage,
showing how a love lost can leave an individual scarred and vengeful. Young begins the poem by
indirectly addressing his lover, saying I am hoping / to hang your head. This creates a dark tone from
the offset, implying that the speaker wants to harm the intended recipient of the poem. He then goes
on in the second stanza to say he would hang the lover s head on his wall in shame. This evokes an
image of taxidermy, which is meant to objectify and dehumanize the

Integrative Negotiations Essay
Journal Harborco
Background: In this negotiation exercise, I was assigned as the Seaborne Governor s negotiator as part
of a six member party meeting to negotiate a deal with Harborco to build and operate a deepwater port
off the coast of Seaborne. The Governor on the whole was very interested in seeing this deepwater
port built in Seaborne as she believes that the size of the project would provide the stimulus for a
dramatic recovery in the state.
However, as there were many parties involved in the meeting, each party had its own interests and
objectives that they wished to obtain from the negotiation and the deal. The five main issues that were
negotiated between the six parties were Industry Mix, Ecological Impact, ... Show more content on

Negotiation: Having analyzed the scoring scheme and weights given to each outcome, I realized that
the most important outcome was obtaining a large federal loan from the government. In fact, obtaining
a $2 billion loan outcome alone would satisfy the governor s scoring scheme to support the project.
Therefore, before going into the negotiation I realized that this issue would be a pivotal outcome in the
negotiation for me. If I succeed in negotiating the right federal loan amount I could be flexible with
the other issues in the negotiation but keeping in mind that the higher the score the better the result for
the governor. My BATNA was to walk away from the deal where I would still maintain the 30 points
in that situation which meant that if the result of the outcome was less than 30 points, I would vote
against the deal.
Looking at the parties involved in the negotiation, it was clear that each party would have agendas that
would be in conflict with each other. For instance, the other ports in the region would like the highest
compensation possible while Harborco would like the lowest compensation. Additionally, each party
would also have a minimum threshold score that they would need from each outcome before they
would support the project. Therefore, it is clear that this is an integrative negotiation which requires
joint problem solving to achieve

Slumdog Millionaire came out at the end of 2008, people instantly fell in love with it. In 2009 it was
nominated for ten Academy Awards and won eight, which was the most won by any film that year.
Everyone seemed to be very drawn to the feel good aspect of the movie where a poor kid like Jamal,
the main character of Boyle s film, can overcome the massive obstacles thrown in front of his path to
success and eventually come out with the girl, 100 million Rupees and the love of the nation where he

This sense of being better and more powerful than Eastern countries that is felt in England and the US,

poverty only gives a somewhat false sense of hope to people in this situation for the movies viewers
and helps to massage (Koehler, 454) their view on the harsh reality of a culture they barely know.
Miles also talks about how the movie plays on our false sense of cultural reality in India, she quotes
the Mumbai Mirror about how the term slumdog is not a term that is widely recognized in India. They

The use of this coined and somewhat derogatory term only helps in supporting the sense of western
dominance over the east by classifying Jamal and many people in similar socioeconomic situation as

on the generational differences between the generations now and previous generations. The authors
explain that they think that the graduates today are as technologically advanced as they should be.
They believe the answer is adult learning theory and they would try to use this method to avoid using
technology. Berge and Feiertag also state that this generation is so dependent on technology that

It is important to enhance our understanding in adulthood learning because not everyone was born into
the digital universe. Also, the authors talk about learning in the classrooms being relatively different
than it was before, some teachers don t use the classroom at all and lecture online. Article also points
around the Internet as a whole being some sort of teacher, Google for example. Google spits out about
any kind of information that you may need. These authors also go on to state that older generations
aren t really that worried about the advance in technology and that they are more focused on the news
and literature than the internet boom . But that the televisions are aiming towards trying to get their
viewers more involved in the internet. I don t think that classrooms will become completely
technology dependent and I feel like that is what the authors are trying to hint at. I do think that our
generation has become dependent on technology but I disagree that everyone has to learn it. I think
that it is important that adults learn this new way of living in a sense, but I do not believe that it should
be a necessity. The authors also say that society as a whole is turning into technology, I disagree.
Although technology has become almost the basis of everything (the reading mentioned banks), there
is still the old school way of doing things and there are some

Evaluating A Nursing Care Plan
As a nurse, one must be aware of the Activities of Living (AoL), assessment methods and understand
how to formulate a Nursing Care Plan (NCP). When tending to a patient, it is important to understand
the AoL as well recognising how they are affecting the patient, how to assess one s condition and what
care needs are priority when treating a patients symptoms. By having this knowledge a nurse is able to
develop a NCP more easily, therefore give the patient a greater quality of care. When creating a NCP,
one must assess, set goals, plan, implement and evaluate the measures taken as well as incorporate a
multi disciplinary team, to ensure the patient receives the best care possible. (Holland et al. 2015, p.2),

patient s demographics and clinical health information, medical history, list of health problems,
progress notes, medications, vital signs, laboratory and radiology reports, and physician orders. The
purpose of the electronic health record is to prevent medical errors and improve care delivery to

3. EHRs has been known to be a problem for some physicians or healthcare providers despite of the
advantages. Because of this system physicians are forced to perform some time consuming tasks that
could be assigned to someone with lesser qualification, which creates more work for the physicians.
Physicians described poor Electronic Health Record (EHR) usability that did not match clinical
workflows, time consuming data entry, interference with face to face patient care, and overwhelming
numbers of electronic messages and alerts (Friedberg, Crosson, Tutty). Another issue that was
reported is that there are a lot of electronic alerts and people also could potentially misuse the template

The Triptych Summary
In the catalytic egg article, speculative chemistry was not a religions attempt but rather all the
reasonable, true blue exploration of refining, whose research center strategies shape the premise of
present day science. it was certain that the point and relationship of Bosch s most striking work, the
gathered garden of regular satisfactions triptych, looks to some degree like a fundamental reactant
moral story that disentangles refining as the rehashing creation, decimation, and revival of the world
and its tenants. The substitute extremes were stood out from Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden,
who were joined by Christ as a conclusive pro and specialist. The second step was the growth of
Adam and Eve into the all inclusive community of the world, contrasting with the dynamic unification
of the four segments into a balanced, whole body. By then came organize three, the troublesome
cleaning process, or ruining and obscuring of the arrays of the gatekeepers and their adolescents,
accomplished by hearing the scientific expert s fixings in the most smoking fire possible. It was
symbolized by torment, mutilation, and segment of the converse segments heretofore taken part in
marriage, and Bosch painted his version of it on the third leading group of the triptych, depicting the
most despicable scene of hellfire, torment, and immolation anytime realized by the human inventive
vitality.

The Pros And Cons Of Dystopias
My topic is about dystopias. Dystopias are places that people think of that are bad. Some people think
of utopias as a happy place where they can go and everything is perfect, but a dystopia is the very
opposite. Usually a dystopia is a very bad place and things aren t perfect in anyway. Most people don t
think of dystopias because some dystopias can be scary and some could be dangerous if you think
about it. An example is when the book Harrison Bergeron had the dancers wear these handicaps
because people think that s the right thing to do but others think of that as a dystopia, because some
people don t want to have to dance around with masks and weights on.
In the book The House of The Scorpion the main place called Opium is definitely a ... Show more

The dancer stood up to dance with Harrison when he took off all of his handicaps and made the dancer
take off her mask and chains to dance. That s when the handicap general came through the door with a
gun pointed at Harrison because he broke the law by taking off his handicaps.
In some books there is a dystopia and some there is a utopia. It all depends on who s in the story and
what setting the story is about. Some people like dystopias and some people like utopias it all depend
on the character. When people imagine a dystopia they imagine a bad place where things aren t perfect
or in order. Most dystopias have things everywhere and no one looks or acts the same.
Dystopias are places where anything can happen and it will be okay no one has to follow the rules or
stay in order either. A utopia usually means everything and everyone are perfect where everything is
inline no one breaks any rules everyone is perfectly disciplined and again perfect. But when you have
a dystopia nobody follows the rules and nobody is disciplined.
In total a dystopia is a very bad place where no one is in order or follows any rules because that s not
really normal for them. Normal in a dystopia would be things messed up and no one has

March 19th, 2016 forever changed the beer landscape for Jupiter, Florida. This was the first of what

crowler. 375 crowlers (3 per person) would, in fact, be released to fans who had come from as far
away as Miami. What is Pulp you ask? Well, it is an American pale wheat ale that comes in at 6.3%

Mosaic hops which give it the sweet smell and taste of a myriad of citrus flavors. Pulp pours with just

America. Ames and Maschner listed the aspects of socio political and cultural complexity as:
sedentism, built structures, social stratification, storage, embryonic property rights, dispute resolution

Strategic Leadership Plans of Organizations
1. The Blake Mouton leadership grid uses the axes of concern of people and concern for production to
describe five different leadership styles auditory compliance, middle of the road, impoverished, team
management and country club. The National Council on Aging can be described by the Blake Mouton
model as team management. The organization s vision makes clear that t is a people oriented
organization. Trust and respect are important, and work is done by people who share in the common
vision and are willing to work hard towards it.
2. Hersey and Blanchard argue that the maturity of followers is task specific. They focus their model
on two types of maturity job maturity and psychological maturity. The works at the NCOA tend to be
experienced people with many years on the job, and also having worked in other organizations for
long tenures as well. This gives them a high level of job maturity and psychological maturity as well.
In an organization that is characterized by high maturity of followers and a high relationship
orientation, the management style is usually supporting, which is a fairly accurate description of the
NCOA. New workers tend to receive more coaching, but the experienced workers seldom require
more than support for their tasks.
3. The American Association for Retired People fits into the Blake Mouton leadership grid is middle

Middle School Intervention Paper
Adolescents who feel more lonely are more likely they to be depressed, anxious and less likely to take
social risks (Moore Schultz, 1983, p. 99). Similarly, loneliness and depressive symptoms influenced
one another bidirectionally from mid to late adolescence, with the direction from loneliness to
depressive symptoms being stronger than the reversed direction (Vanhalst, Klimstra, Luyckx, Scholte,
Engels, Goossens, 2012, p. 782). Thus, our intervention aims to reduce these feelings among middle
school students. In turn, this goal is worthy from a sociatel perspective, as reducing feelings of
loneliness will have a positive effect on the teenagers school performance, their overall productivity as
well as their reported life satisfaction (Trzesniewski, Donnellan, Moffitt, Robins, Poulton ... Show

rewarded act could be to invite a fellow student to sit together at lunch time, or to help one another in

student explicitly but by extending the rates of in class solidarity as a whole. Furthermore, we base the
method of intervention on the idea of conditional cooperation saying that people act more solitary
when other do the same (Fischbacher, Gächter Fehr, 2001, p. 397). To evaluate effectiveness, before
starting the intervention, we will ask all the student in class to answer a scale measuring loneliness so
we can measure the effect of the intervention after a year and see if the participants show reduced

Comparison Of Pain In American Sniper And Schindler s List
Indirect Pain The feeling of pain has often been referred to as a controversial one, as one of the
sensations that is felt by the body. Recently, discussions about the subject of pain have been focused
on the difficulty encountered in trying to establish a definition for it. Because pain has no one
definition, expressing it becomes quite elusive for the sufferer, which then leads to the difficulty in the
understanding of pain by an outsider. Elaine Scarry makes a strong argument that to have pain is to
have certainty whereas, to hear about pain is to have doubt, (Scarry, 13) and with this she emphasizes
that pain is almost impossible to deduce by an outsider because all they experience is doubt. Although
Scarry s argument is valid, Joanna Bourke makes a contrasting argument that, indeed, hearing about or
witnessing another person s pain could actually destroy the onlooker, (Bourke, 46) which could be
interpreted to mean that one s pain could in fact be shared by others as opposed to Scarry s argument.
Therefore, the transferability of pain in American Sniper and Schindler s List stems from the
acknowledgement of the pain of the sufferer through the use of framing and close up shots of the
onlooker, and it is that acknowledgement that makes for the possibility of the sharing of pain in
regards to the situations of war in the movies. Scarry envelopes her argument in the elusiveness of the
sharing of pain that the relative presence of bodies does not necessarily

Bronfenbrenner s Ecological Systems Theory Analysis
Introduction
Development is the act or process of growth. Developmental psychology is the scientific study of how
and why human beings change over the course of their life. The study of developmental theories can
be traced back to the early 1900s. Over the years, psychologists and other scientists have developed a
variety of theories to explain observations and discoveries about child development. Theories of
development provide a framework for thinking about human growth, development, and learning. By
using examples of ones own life span, from beginning to present, and analyzing life events using
theoretical models, one can further explore certain theories and whether or not personal life
experiences supports or denies theoretical models of development across the lifespan.
Developmental Theorists and Theories
Urie Bronfenbrenner developed the ecological systems theory to explain how a child s environment
influences a child s development. In his model, there is a hierarchy of influence levels. The ecological
systems model acknowledges the ongoing, necessary, and intrinsic interactions of a unique individual
with others and the environment.
Bronfenbrenner puts the child, who comes with its own temperament and conditions, in the middle, or

college, and ten yesars of employment, him and his friend Lorry Bannes were already making great
strides, holding executive positions, but they wanted more. They took their desire and created their
own business, setting up their future and achieving their goals. Did they make the right decisions
along the way? Did they have the right balance? And how did Joe use the business to promote his
beliefs? Were the Four Bottom Lines Met? Joe emerged his business by perusing his desire to run a
business on his own. Together Joe and Larry took the risk and began Bannes Shaughnessy Inc. in 1972
(Katz, 2011). Despite their prior experience and low amount of capital they began with, within five

Rainbow Bridge History
If you want to brighten up a person s day. Give them a rainbow was said by Anthony T. Hincks. It is
true that many people like seeing the wonderful rainbow after a rainstorm but there is never one
rainbow that stays more than a few minutes at most. However there is a rainbow that has been
standing for over 50 years, it s called the Rainbow Bridge. The Rainbow Bridge provides a lot of great
history, many new cultures and interesting activities for tourists to take part in. Rainbow Bridge
contains many interesting historical features. A surveying party first found the Rainbow Bridge in
1909, the scientists were quickly able to find out how it was created. It was in fact created by erosion
of the sandstone by the flowing water (Rainbow Bridge). The president then in May of 1910 made it a
National Monument (History and Culture). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Living around or near the monument there are 5 groups or tribes of Native Americans who see the
Rainbow Bridge as a sacred site. Actually, in 1974, the Navajo tribe filed suit and demanded that a
water storage tank should be placed near the Rainbow Bridge to help stop the flooding of their sacred
sites. Furthermore The Native Americans cause no problems with the rock climbers, but ask that they
be respectful of their land (History and Culture). There are many things to do, not just hiking at
Rainbow Bridge. Although you can hike at Rainbow Bridge, there are other things to do. Near the
monument is a lake called Lake Powell. At this lake, they provide fishing docks that are open for
everyone to try and Rainbow Bridge boat tours that lasts about an hour (James). But hiking is also
something to fun to do here. There are two different distance trails that are available for tourist to
climb the trail from the dock is only a 1.3 mile walk while the one from the welcome center is roughly
a 17.5 mile hike

Prison Reform In The United States
Prison Reform in the United States Most of today s prisons focus only on punishing criminals, and not
rehabilitating them. This is why so many inmates struggle to reintegrate into society and end up being
arrested multiple times throughout their life. If prisons increased their focus on rehabilitating criminals
and preparing them for outside life when they are eventually released, more inmates would be able to
get their life back on track and become productive members of society. Some other areas of the prison
system that need attention include overcrowding, health care, and the education of prisoners.
Improving the prison system will benefit inmates, their families, the economy, and the community
around them. There are many issues with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If prisons starting focusing on inmates as individuals, they will be able to address their issues and
better prepare them to integrate into society upon release. Mental illnesses are fairly common among
today s prisoners. A third of deaths in jails are caused by suicide. (Fiscella 1). Giving inmates the
resources to properly deal with mental illness, such as medication and therapy, will help to lower the
suicide rate. Offering programs to prisoners that address their individual needs will increase their
chance of success outside of prison. Programs that target the needs of an individual such as parenting
courses and anger management classes will help to decrease the chance of an individual being
rearrested. (U.S. Department of Justice Roadmap to Reentry 3). Addressing these needs while an
individual is in custody can resolve them before they are released. This may be what they need in
order to break their cycle of crime. A prisoners family is also affected when it come to their
incarceration. Children who have a parent in prison are more likely to struggle with mental illness,
poor relationships with family members, bad grades in school, and misconduct. (Bender 3). Having an
absent parent is a disadvantage in any child s life, especially if the parent is incarcerated because the
child is likely to develop similar behavior. If jails and prisons

The Discovery Of Economy Essay
It is a pristine tradition that much matters to a nation, when it comes to issues irrelevant to human
development. Speaking in terms of reality, the economic boom of a nation is what human development
all about.
Now let us profoundly analyze what exactly is the economic boom of a nation. As we begin our
analysis, it is highly important for the reader to be enlightened with the fact that it is necessary to think
the right way if he has to understand this immensely valuable message. The reader will have to
discredit all economic and political concepts and thoughts in considering the planet earth as a single
nation and its people as just its citizens with no individual nationalities. Thinking this way alone can
make this message more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are the sole root cause for the bias in the standard of living in the USA with that of Nigeria or
Somalia or any other impoverished region of this earth.
According to the modern concept and thought, every one of us is keenly interested to know how
nature has created us and how the universe came into existence but none has ever tried to wonder at
the interrogative word why . Why has nature created us together on a single planet, why not Blacks,
Whites, Asians, the Yellow race and the Semitic race, each on a different planet? It was the duty of the
dynamic and charismatic leadership of this world to teach humanity how to peacefully co exist and
mutually live on this earth as unified, uniform and united body of humanity. Was it not possible for the
nature that devised everything in order, to create life on other planets in our planetary neighborhood?
With these questions on our minds we can easily arrive at a conclusion that we the citizens of the
nation earth are a single nation and one family. The cream of this world s entire human layers, masses
and races irrespective of nationality or religion were destined to demonstrate the planet earth and its
people from any nook and corner of its expanse that they are its citizens, the earthlings.
It s time, I think,

The poorest city in Texas became a target for a homicide that impacted the family and including the
community. It all started on Tuesday of March 11, 2003 in a home located in downtown Brownsville.
What seemed like a usual Tuesday evening turned into a dark, cold, and gruesome night for the city of
Brownsville. The Rubio Murder House , apartment and home to a couple who took the lives of 3 year

viciously stabbed and decapitated by their mother and father and later put into garbage bags to dispose

The fact that Rubio had a scaring childhood with his mother forcing him into prostitution and soon
leading to drug abuse is what his lawyer argued caused him to fall off the edge. Camacho testified that
she did not commit a crime even though she was an accomplice in the murder holding the children
down and trying to get rid of evidence. The State District Court of Hidalgo, Texas pleaded Angela
Camacho culpable (guilty) to first degree murder along with three consecutive life sentences.
Additionally, John Allen Rubio pleaded no culpable (not guilty), but convicted and sentence to death
by lethal injection by the District Court. This crime was the most gruesome the department had seen
and that he felt justice had been served , stated the Brownsville Police Chief, Carlos Garcia. Along
with the community member they too felt that justice was made for such a violent crime committed to

The film s multinational cast, strong emotions, and the love triangle helped it become a classic film remembered for all time. The scene I will analyze is the last scene in the film where Rick Blaine and Ilsa were saying their final goodbyes as an airplane was in the background setting was one of the greatest scenes in the history of romantic films and the history of cinema itself. This scene had four main characters who were Rick Blaine played by Humphrey Bogart, Ilsa Lund played by Ingrid Bergman, Victor Laszlo played by Paul Henreid, and Captain Louis Renault played by Claude Rains. • 3. Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the modpoint of the opposite side, we have: ■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.) And in this case (1) becomes (2): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°). Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3) into (2) yields to (4): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A). Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6): 2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A). Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7): 3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is equilateral: IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3). The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved. Answer: Proved. Rotating by the point: Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120°, and superimpose the rotated copy on the original figure. Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself). Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively. Because of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE. Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular GH=GG.HH. Consider the six triangles that coverge on point A. • 4. Taking a Look at Electroencephalography The field of neuroscience is rapidly expanding; recent understanding of brain function has expanded the study of infant brains. Novel neuroscientific techniques will enhance treatment, diagnosis, and growth of the infant brain. Interest in the treatment of neurological diseases and cures dates back many years (Wendel, 2010) and with a new focus on the infant brain researchers hope to find answers that will pinpoint major causes of infant brain disorders. Studies on the subject of human brain appear regularly in the fields of psychiatry and neuroscience. Breakthroughs in the field are due primarily to technological advances in brain imaging, with most studies employing at least one kind of brain scan to current research. The five most popular brain scanning techniques are: Electroencephalography (EEG), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Computerized Tomography (CT) (Scanning the brain, n.d., para. 4). EEG, MEG, functional MRI (fMRI), and PET all play important roles in correlating a person s neural metabolism and the activity of local cranial microvasculature with mental functions (Wolbarst, Capasso, Wyant, 2013). Both EEG and MEG recordings capture neurophysiologically generated signals with excellent temporal resolution (Wolbarst, Capasso, Wyant, 2013). Infant brains, however, can be studied with either EEG or MEG. Because EEG is readily available in the neuroscience lab, and we deal solely with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

INTRODUCTION During the Hurricane Katrina in 2005, even though the National Weather Service (NWS) had forecasted the storm characteristics information on wind speed, storm surge and rainfall accurately, the local authorities responded inadequately (Kent, 2006; Basher, 2006). The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina pumps a series of discussions on emergency responses in a hurricane hazard (e.g., Basher, 2006; Kent, 2006; Kamarck, 2007; Spencer, 2013). Researches draw their attention to this discussion focused on three questions: (1) who should be in charge (e.g., Kamarck, 2007; Badiru and Racz, 2013; Barnhill, 2013; Cova et al., in press)? According to the Protective Action Decision Model (PADM) by Lindell and Perry (1992; 2004; 2012) which summarized previous researches on public s responses to environmental threats, people would be made aware of a threat by social warnings, social cues, and environmental cues (Huang, Lindell Prater, in press a; Lindell, in press), then assess their risk and identify potentials protective actions (PAs), and ultimately take an appropriate PA (Huang et al., 2012, Huang, Lindell Prater, in press b). Hence, local authorities, on the one hand, have the responsibilities to carry the PARs to the people who are at risk (Basher, 2006; Lindell and Perry, 2012), whereas risk area households response efforts, on the other hand, would rely on the guidance of officials PARs (Baker 1991, 1995; Huang et al. in press a; Lin et al. 2014). However, households response efforts are often limited by their information availability (Chen et al., 2007). Consequently, the failure of the delivery of the appropriate PARs in time would either set those households in danger or push them to follow peers response actions (Huang et al., 2012; Huang, Lindell Prater, in press a; b). • 16. Genetic Engineering Negative Essay After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since genes are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of biological science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic engineering is a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism. It can be utilized to raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living organisms. In other words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an organism. When an innovative idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports the idea and one that opposes it. Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food, get increasingly more involved in human lives, people start to debate whether genetically engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On the surface of the issue, genetic engineering seems to only serve benefits. However, while the development of genetic engineering can change our world for the better, it has various negative influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful toward the agricultural environment; it acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems. Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the technology carefully, before they over develop it to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which can impair the entire human race. The error of activity oriented design might be called hands on without being minds on engaging experiences that lead only accidentally, if at all, to insight or achievement. The activities, though fun and interesting, do not lead anywhere intellectually. Such activity oriented curricula lack an explicit focus on important ideas and appropriate evidence of learning, especially in the minds of the learners. A second form of aimlessness goes by the name of coverage, an approach in which students march through a textbook, page by page (or teachers through lecture notes) in a valiant attempt to ... • 22. Critical Analysis Of I Am Trying To Break Your Heart Kevin Young s I am Trying to Break Your Heart examines the dark and chaotic nature of trying to heal from emotional damage. Addressing a lover, the speaker uses twisted and macabre diction to describe the dark feelings that brew within him. These sinister desires to harm the lover shine through in the terse language and erratic structure, as well as. The 2008 poem alludes to a Wilco song of the same name, wherein the speaker describes his heartache after leaving his lover and facing regret concerning the situation. This is alluded to in stanzas 12 and 13 when Young writes ... I assassin / down the avenue, (22 23) the second line of the song. Without taking note of this allusion, the poem would seem as if Young is portraying himself as a manipulator seeking to gain power over his lover. But through referencing the 2002 song I am Trying to Break Your Heart by Jeff Tweedy, Young clarifies his intent. The poem is meant to illustrate the chaotic and destructive nature of healing from emotional damage, showing how a love lost can leave an individual scarred and vengeful. Young begins the poem by indirectly addressing his lover, saying I am hoping / to hang your head. This creates a dark tone from the offset, implying that the speaker wants to harm the intended recipient of the poem. He then goes on in the second stanza to say he would hang the lover s head on his wall in shame. This evokes an image of taxidermy, which is meant to objectify and dehumanize the ... Integrative Negotiations Essay Journal Harborco Background: In this negotiation exercise, I was assigned as the Seaborne Governor s negotiator as part of a six member party meeting to negotiate a deal with Harborco to build and operate a deepwater port off the coast of Seaborne. The Governor on the whole was very interested in seeing this deepwater port built in Seaborne as she believes that the size of the project would provide the stimulus for a dramatic recovery in the state. However, as there were many parties involved in the meeting, each party had its own interests and objectives that they wished to obtain from the negotiation and the deal. Negotiation: Having analyzed the scoring scheme and weights given to each outcome, I realized that the most important outcome was obtaining a large federal loan from the government. In fact, obtaining a $2 billion loan outcome alone would satisfy the governor s scoring scheme to support the project. Therefore, before going into the negotiation I realized that this issue would be a pivotal outcome in the negotiation for me. If I succeed in negotiating the right federal loan amount I could be flexible with the other issues in the negotiation but keeping in mind that the higher the score the better the result for the governor. My BATNA was to walk away from the deal where I would still maintain the 30 points in that situation which meant that if the result of the outcome was less than 30 points, I would vote against the deal. Looking at the parties involved in the negotiation, it was clear that each party would have agendas that would be in conflict with each other. For instance, the other ports in the region would like the highest compensation possible while Harborco would like the lowest compensation. Additionally, each party would also have a minimum threshold score that they would need from each outcome before they would support the project. Therefore, it is clear that this is an integrative negotiation which requires joint problem solving to achieve ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The substitute extremes were stood out from Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, who were joined by Christ as a conclusive pro and specialist. Similarly, loneliness and depressive symptoms influenced one another bidirectionally from mid to late adolescence, with the direction from loneliness to depressive symptoms being stronger than the reversed direction (Vanhalst, Klimstra, Luyckx, Scholte, Engels, Goossens, 2012, p. 782). Thus, our intervention aims to reduce these feelings among middle school students. • 37. Comparison Of Pain In American Sniper And Schindler s List Indirect Pain The feeling of pain has often been referred to as a controversial one, as one of the sensations that is felt by the body. Recently, discussions about the subject of pain have been focused on the difficulty encountered in trying to establish a definition for it. Because pain has no one definition, expressing it becomes quite elusive for the sufferer, which then leads to the difficulty in the understanding of pain by an outsider. Elaine Scarry makes a strong argument that to have pain is to have certainty whereas, to hear about pain is to have doubt, (Scarry, 13) and with this she emphasizes that pain is almost impossible to deduce by an outsider because all they experience is doubt. Although Scarry s argument is valid, Joanna Bourke makes a contrasting argument that, indeed, hearing about or witnessing another person s pain could actually destroy the onlooker, (Bourke, 46) which could be interpreted to mean that one s pain could in fact be shared by others as opposed to Scarry s argument. Therefore, the transferability of pain in American Sniper and Schindler s List stems from the acknowledgement of the pain of the sufferer through the use of framing and close up shots of the onlooker, and it is that acknowledgement that makes for the possibility of the sharing of pain in regards to the situations of war in the movies. Developmental psychology is the scientific study of how and why human beings change over the course of their life. The study of developmental theories can be traced back to the early 1900s. Over the years, psychologists and other scientists have developed a variety of theories to explain observations and discoveries about child development. Theories of development provide a framework for thinking about human growth, development, and learning. By using examples of ones own life span, from beginning to present, and analyzing life events using theoretical models, one can further explore certain theories and whether or not personal life experiences supports or denies theoretical models of development across the lifespan. Developmental Theorists and Theories Urie Bronfenbrenner developed the ecological systems theory to explain how a child s environment influences a child s development.
