Veterans Stadium History
Known for its treacherous Astroturf, deafening acoustics and its unruly 700 Level, The Vet, as it was
commonly known, was home to both the Phillies of Major League Baseball and the Eagles of the
Nation Football League from 1971 to 2003. Veterans Stadium represented more than just a sports
venue, it represented the heart and soul of the city of brotherly love, the place with the most rabid but
loyal of fans in the nation. Veterans stadium created lifelong memories in Philadelphia s sports world,
and left a longstanding impression on everyone privileged enough to attend a game there.

The Bill of Rights of 1689
The Bill of Rights of 1689 By Christos Stamelos The Bill of Rights of 1689 The Bills of Rights of
1689 is a legal document encompassing the basic rights and liberties of the English people. It was
compiled as the title states in December 1689 with the title An Act Declaring the Rights and Liberties
of the Subject and Settling the Succession of the Crown and constitutes a statutory statement that is
formal written enactment of a legislative authority that governs a state, city, or county. It was result of
mounting pressures to remind the King Charles I of the Rights laid out in the Magna Carta(1215)
which he clearly challenged by dissolving the parliament and governing by decree. The concept of the

illegal practices of excessive bails, fines and punishments directly restricting the liberty of individuals
as well as the unlawful seizure of premises regarding taxes without proper trial which culminates the
account of the wrongdoings of James II. Following, it describes the developments before this meeting
referring to the resignation of the throne from James II and the assignment of it to William the Prince
of Orange and the call to all regional authorities to send their representatives to be present in the
proceedings. After that, the document defines the changing relationship between the crown and
Parliament by declaring that no monarch will ever again undermine the rights and liberties of the
people and in the next paragraph, it states that William of Orange will honor the rights of the British,
establishing a safety clause for any future claims of James II. The Bill of Rights is mainly a
fortification of old principles contained in Magna Carta and ratified parliamentary supremacy. This

Art Museum Analysis
When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically
feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to
take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other choice but to
give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it
so I almost forgot about the rest of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be
in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear when walking through
those doors.
The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole s piece caught my eye due to
the simplicity of it. He took something as simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and
organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each individual brush
stroke. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though those seem to be bold, you can see the delicate detail put into each section making the piece
flow beautifully. His strokes are smooth, yet uneven, giving the piece an interesting twist. The
background offers a somewhat ominous sky, using what seems to be only whites and greys. The
background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your
attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in
the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the piece. The
foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are
used to display the ongoing naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can
see some sort of animal. Cole being a famous American landscape artist would make it only obvious
to have animals in some of his

Homeland Security Agencies
The first essay question in the final assignment asks students to discuss the capabilities and limitations
of intelligence in supporting homeland security efforts. Intelligence matters have greatly improved on
this front compared to the way things used to be prior to the September 11th terror attacks, but there
are areas that still need to be addressed. The Department of Homeland Security has also helped get
information to the field by creating fusion cells, the (JCAT), and encouraging the use of intelligence
based policing. Intelligence sharing was one of the biggest obstacles the nation had prior to the 9/11
attacks. Federal agencies, competing for budgetary funding, had no incentive to share any information

Congress, in an attempt to address the shortfalls in our counterterrorism system, drafted the USA
PATRIOT Act. The law did close many policy gaps, but it also unintentionally infringed upon the civil
liberties of the very citizens it was designed to protect. The most contentious parts of the act were the
changes in search warrant procedures, unlimited access to records, and wiretap procedures. The act
allowed law enforcement and intelligence personnel to request sneak and peek warrants, meaning that
they were allowed to enter into a suspect s home without informing him/her that they were being
investigated. Intelligence personnel say this is needed to avoid alerting a terrorist cell s members of an
investigation, but critics claim that this process could also be used against non terrorism suspects. The
USA Freedom Act did not remove this controversial provision once it was signed into law last

Analysis of Wal Mart Essay
Analysis of Wal Mart Wal Mart is the largest retailer in Canada , Mexico and USA. In addition to that
Wal Mart has been known in USA not only for its dimensions but also for a very big number of
reasons and good values. I think the best way to start an analysis about Wal mart strategy is to see
where the company is now with the use of a brief Swot analysis. As far as the Strengths are concerned
, I think that one of the most important features Wal Mart has is the customer approach. Sam Walton
wanted its organization to provide the customers with the so called aggressive hospitality and with this
Walton meant that the employers have to provide the customers with all they need , they always ...

The fidelity programs are an important instrument to lock in the consumers . In addition to that the
mission statement was not formalized . As we know is always important to have a clear mission
statement because it helps to have a more clear vision about the company and especially about the
purposes of the company. Another weakness is that the women employees are paid less than the men
employees are. This problem arose in 2003 when the company had to face with a federal lawsuit filed
by six female employees complaining that there were discriminations against women in pay. This fact
was also underlined by some studies based on the Wal Mart s payroll data. As far the opportunities are
concerned I think that the European market can be a market where to put more efforts in the expansion
. Another opportunity can be the creation of an online store where the people can buy their items and
have them delivered at home. The threats are that some small cities do not want Wal mart to install its
business locally because they want to maintain their own business integrity. Another problem is that
the products Wal Mart sells are very standardized and so easy to substitute with other products .

The Anti Roadway Carnage Bill
Dear Citizen, My gripe is with texting and driving. This is one of the most serious public health issues
of our time. I cannot for the life of me believe this practice has not yet been outlawed. Last year in the
United States, driver distraction was the cause of 16% of all fatal crashes, killing 5800 people. A
further 515,000 people were wounded as the result of distracted driving. The worst part is that up to
50% of teenagers the least experienced drivers on the road report texting and driving. We are teaching
the next generation to drive without teaching them about responsibility. Other states have already
passed laws, but our politicians are on record as saying they cannot ban something they do
themselves. How irresponsible! Thankfully, Senator Jim Duncan is proposing a bill that would outlaw
texting and driving. Please click here to sign a petition supporting Prop 733T, the Anti Roadway
Carnage Bill, and help keep our streets safe. Sincerely, Concerned Activist This persuasive memo is
designed to sell an idea, that texting and driving should be banned. The design put forth by Bowman
(2002) is the basis of the letter. The pacing of the letter is quick, with short sentences and simple ideas.
The reason for this is to generate an emotional response to help motivate the reader. The core of the
argument comes in the first two lines, so there is little time to for the reader to tune out. Bowman also
prescribes blending ideas, including blending truth and

Self Regulation In High School
Self regulation is having the capability to watch and control your emotions and behavior and being
able to adjust them in agreement with the demands of a particular situation. Self regulation begins
during the first few weeks of life, it is thought that this begins once an infant obtains the ability to
settle back to sleep by themselves. This is a good example of self regulation because in this situation
the infant is able to control their emotions and adjust it to their situation so they can go to sleep.
Additionally, in the book it also said that school readiness is more heavily influenced by self
regulation than by cognitive skills or family characteristics. By being able to control your emotions
and adjust to a situation you can more effectively

The Shipping News Proulx Qualities
As empathetic beings, it is always refreshing to see when the one with less advantages rises above
adversity to end on top. In The Shipping News Proulx uses the underdog archetype to portray the
journey one may seek when the odds are stacked against them by her writing style and point of view
to create the strongly composed characters in her book.
In the book, The Shipping News, I believe that Proulx s composition and characterization of her
characters is impeccable. In a book where the character s fate is determined by their looks and
physical attributes, it is essential that Proulx heavily stresses how the characters are composed
physically. For example, Quoyle (the protagonist), is said to have A damp loaf of a body. At six he

this are Quoyle at a rack of comic books, studied a gangster firing a laser gun at a trussed woman.

can see that her diction/syntax is simplistic, shortened, and condensed not only for enjoyment, but to
get the point across without any fluff . This writing style is perfect for this book, because it juxtaposes
the complexity of the character with the simplistic words she chooses to write

Student Loan Vs. Private Loan
In order to get ahead in today s society people must take a risk. That risk may include taking out
student loans in order to acquire the necessary degree for their wanted job. For some taking out
student loans in the only way to achieve their goal of going to college. There are many different types
of student loans that a person could qualify for, for example, a federal loan or private loan. No matter
what type of loan is being offered before someone should accept any type of loan and the
responsibilities that come along with it they should consider the positives and negative repercussions
that could occur. Often times people hear many negative things about student loans but there are a few
positive things about them. A student loan allows someone to attend college and further their
education which gives them benefits that they will be able to use later in life. The main benefit and
reason individuals go to college is to reach the goal of a higher education, greater employment
opportunities and solid earnings and student loans make that possible (Venable 2). It could also be a
positive thing depending on the amount a person borrows and terms they agree to pay it back. Having
student loans that are possible to make regular payments on is an opportunity to increase a person s
credit score allowing better financial opportunities, for example, being able to acquire a car loan,
business loan, or mortgage (Venable 2). Debt that is manageable is good debt and as long as the

Dyslexia is a very common learning disability that affects many children and adults in their life time.
Dyslexia is mostly common in young children when they first start school and if they are having

school or at home. Dyslexia is a problem that affects the brain, but it does not mean that people with
dyslexia are not smart ( Dyslexia 1). Dyslexia is a lifelong problem that cannot be outgrown but it can

Many people think that dyslexia is causes by the school or by bad teaching (Marshall 1). Dyslexia is
actually caused by certain genes that can be inherited and these genes control how the brain develops
and processes words and sounds ( Disease and Conditions of Dyslexia 1). Dyslexia is caused to be a
visual disorder and it can also be caused by how people are able to hear sounds by how it goes through
their brain (Jost 1079). There are many different things that can cause dyslexia. The most common
way that dyslexia is cause is passed from parent to child (Lapkin 1). According to the Mayo
Foundation of Medical Education and Research There s no cure for dyslexia. It s a lifelong condition
caused by inherited traits that affect how your brain works ( Disease and Conditions of Dyslexia 1).
Since dyslexia is a very common, if a parent has dyslexia in a person s family then it is most likely
that their child could have dyslexia too because dyslexia is passes in genes (Shaywitz). If one of those
causes is a problem the first thing to do would to talk with the kids teachers so they can help with
learning and understanding what they are reading ( Dyslexia Symptoms 1). If children are still having

The King And The Chessboard Of Wheat
Humans have many methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of
the concept of zero essential to the ancients for keeping good records of various transactions humans
have been using mathematics to describe ever larger quantities of items. The story of the king and the
chessboard of wheat demonstrates that while humans have been using large numbers since the dawn
of history; using and comprehending are two entirely different things. In the story, a king tells a clever
mathematician that he may ask for any reward he wishes for his services to the kingdom. And so the
mathematician asks for one grain of rice to be placed on the first square of a chessboard, and then
double that on the second square, and then double the second on the third, and so on. By the time all
the rice would be added up, it would equal well over the production of rice in the entire modern
world! Needless to say, the mathematician did not receive his reward . The same concept applies to
time, at some point the human mind ceases to differentiate between larger and larger timescales.
Like the king and his chessboard, we have trouble contemplating the vast eons of time that lie between
us and the creation of the earth. Each day seems like a grain of rice, so small that it seems as though
they could never add up to anything substantial. However, looking back allows us to put ourselves into
perspective. By examining history, we can see that we have been on this planet for

How Did Pope John Paul II Influence People
I hope to have communion with the people with the people, that is the most important thing was stated
by Pope John Paul II. This shows John Paul II s personality perfectly because he actually cared about
people. But, Pope John Paul II did not only care about Catholic people, he cared about everyone. So,
Pope John Paul II tried to relate with everyone which could consider him a very influential person.
Throughout his papal life, Pope John Paul II updated and strengthened the image of the Catholic
Church, solved many problems like communism and religious differences, and reenergized the Church
teachings and its members. Pope John Paul II updated and strengthened the image of the Catholic
Church because he traveled and talked to everyone. Before Pope John Paul II, popes did not travel
very far and some did not travel at all. This made it hard for people to put a face to the pope and they
were not able to make the Church personable. Though his church can be slow to change, John Paul
was not slow to act. As the most traveled pope in history, John Paul logged about 742,000 miles to

everyone, regardless of the cost ( Pope John Paul II ). Even though he did not use papal infallibility to

Kolcaba Middle Range Comfort Case Study
Kolcaba middle range comfort theory was presented in the early 1990s, and it included three technical
senses of comfort; relief, ease, and transcendence (Kolcaba, 2003). The nurse needs to identify the
specific discomfort and the support required. After a nurse has identified and provided comfort
interventions, the patient will move through the three technical senses. Kolcaba coined the patient s
comfort needs are met as the relief phase. She describes the next stage as ease and is reach once the
patient is content. Lastly, she noted in the transcendence that the patient would be able to rise above
the discomfort, leading to positive patient outcomes. Kolcaba stated holistic comfort is achieved
through a context of four human experiences: physical, psychospiritual, sociocultural, and
environment. She developed the taxonomic structure of comfort that incorporates all aspects of
comfort theory (Kolcaba, 2003). The taxonomic structure is a grid with the three technical senses
listed horizontal and the four human experiences listed vertically (Kolcaba, 2010). The grid can be
used as a tool in the assessment and intervention process by tracking the patient s progress through the
stages of comfort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stare Decisis Precedent
Stare decisis and precedent are related because they both involve judges to use past decision in order
to make decision on more current decisions. When judges use precedent they look back on old court
decision on similar cases and then rule the same. When using stare decisis the judges will look back
on prior ruling and adjust their rulings for more modern day use for a more equal fairness under the

punishment. However, just because they do promote fairness it doesn t mean that judges should only

The Design Philosophy Of Antoni Rovira I Trias
The Sant Antoni Market is one of the most popular and architecturally brilliant markets in Barcelona.
Originally designed by Antoni Rovira i Trias, an architect and urban planner who publically favored
the destruction of walls in Barcelona and supported free growth in the city. Trias was a very outspoken
architect and called for a change in the way Barcelona should be urbanized and he actually won the
competition, in 1859, for the design of the expansion of the city. However, the central Spanish
government in Madrid favored Cerda s plan instead. Nevertheless, Trias continued with his work as an
architect and he designed the markets of La Concepcio in 1885, the Born in 1873, and most
importantly for this research paper, the San Antoni market completed in 1882. Throughout this

were the major users of the market at first because it was right in the middle of everything so it was
easy to get to and it had everything they needed. They would either use the market or go by the market
every day and the sidewalks would be packed with people. Eventually, the market began seeing some
international interest. When people from other countries would travel to Barcelona they would either

Martin Luther King J. And Malcolm X Essay
The 1950 s and 1960 s was an era of major conflict between African Americans and whites in the
United States which led to discrimination and disorder in the states. African Americans were fortunate
to have outstanding leaders who fought for a difference and change during the Civil Rights movement.
Both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were two powerful individuals who gave hope to African
Americans and oppressed people in the United States. They are both well known individuals for their
Civil Rights protesting. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X both spread the message about African
Americans having power and strength in the center of all the hatred and discrimination around them.

his famous I Have a Dream speech that spoke of his hope for equality for all Americans. Martin
Luther King Jr. wanted all the races to come together for the hatred, discrimination, and violence to be
put to an end. Beyond the 1963 March on Washington, King and his followers used a variety of
nonviolent tactics to achieve equality through grassroots activism, including the Montgomery bus
boycott of 1955, the student sin ins of 1960, the Freedom Rides of 1961, the 1963 demonstrations in
Birmingham, and the Selma March of 1965. These provided King with the opportunity to demonstrate
the power of nonviolence in destroyed legal segregation in American life (Cone 176). The 1964 Civil
Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Bill showed the success of King s nonviolent approach.
Even though Martin Luther King, Jr. worked with white leaders to try and achieve civil rights for

way things were going. Dr. King knew that violence was a threat if change didn t happen quickly

The Importance Of Proper Sexual Education On Sex
Kaislyn Lyons Mr. Ray English 1301.3 20 November 2015 The Importance of Proper Sexual
Education In life, high school especially, sexual education is very important and can truly impact a
person s life. Improper education on sex can lead to many life changing mistakes. These blunders can
be avoided with proper knowledge. Although students should be encouraged to remain abstinent, they
should still be taught about contraception and practicing safe sex. With proper sexual education,
abstinence rates will increase and the numbers of teenage parents will decrease. In today s society, sex
is everywhere. It is on TV, in music, in novels, magazines, and even hidden. As a teenager, peer
pressure also has a very strong presence. Kids are encouraged by their peers to look a certain way, act
a certain way, belief certain things, and change themselves to fit in with the norm . Whenever they do
not meet the standards of society they are teased for being different. This negativity increases when it
comes to the topics of sex. Just because an individual has chosen to abstain for sexual activity, they
are dubbed an outcast. Their beliefs and strong morals come back to bite them in the presence of their
peers. Premarital sex is often glamorized. Teens are shown that engaging in sex is cool despite the
risks. This obscure view is due to a lack of information and proper education. Many schools often shy
away from the subject of sex. Parents also shut out the topic. This leaves teens to look

What Is The Eulogy In The Unknown Citizen
Memories Make The Man Memories are information that the brain stores throughout people s lives.
The memories of a person is what shapes their lives and leaves an impression on other people s lives
as well. Without these memories, their lives would have been meaningless. In W. H. Auden s The
Unknown Citizen, it is evident that memories are important to really knowing a person. In the text, a
eulogy is given by a government official for a citizen whose life is unknown. The official goes
throughout the eulogy expressing how much the deceased was a saint by stating different facts from
different government organizations about his life (line 4). Auden uses a sarcastic eulogy given by a
government official to argue that people s lives should allot to more than just facts and statistics about
their lives. Auden utilizes structure to form his poem as an eulogy to show how little the speaker ...

The most sarcastic lines of the poem are at the end when the speaker states, Was he free? Was he
happy? The question is absurd: / Had anything been wrong, we should certainly have heard, (28 29).
The author was trying to present his audience with how disgraceful this eulogy was to the memory of
this man. The eulogy random facts and has no personal memory of this man. The lack of personal
memories not only establishes that facts do not determine what kind lives people live, but also reveals
that without memories of people, people s lives would mean little to nothing. The government official
proves this more by the fabrication of the companies within the poem. The speaker states, But
satisfied his employers, Fudge Motors Inc. (8). The word Fudge is used to indicate that these statistics
about the man is ridiculous. There are several more concocted companies throughout the poem that
were to imply how little is known about the citizen and how this eulogy was not taken

Presidential Elections Dbq
Television is an important educational tool in society, however, it does not have a place in presidential
elections, due to the inequality and lack of substantive discussion in televised debates, as well as
irrelevant physical standards being placed upon presidential candidates. Journalists agree that political
debates are an ineffective method for deciding the leader of the country, and they are not worth the use
of television resources. Should the decision of who is in charge of a massive country be made based
on physical appearances, such as height, hairstyle and other superficial traits? Using these methods of
deduction to decide an elected official is extremely unintelligent and ineffective compared to the
alternative, an intelligent interview printed in an article or magazine. Citizens of a society are
incredibly resistant to change, but examining journalists opinions and articles proves that a significant
change must be made. The lack of substantive discussion in televised presidential debates largely
contributes to the negative effect television has had on presidential elections. Many ... Show more

Television should be used for useful and informative programming, which is the complete opposite of
an interview with Bill Clinton in 1992, in which Clinton discusses, among other topics, his underwear
with the American people , therefore clearly providing an example of the ineffective and off topic
discussions that occur on television (Source B). Conversations such as this interview, although slightly
humorous, provide absolutely no information about a candidate s policy positions or planned actions if
elected. The members of a society, whether they decide to vote or not, should be fully informed on
these topics. Television is not providing an ample source for information due to the irrelevance of the
discussions and the lack of substantial information

Environmental Assessment Essay
INTRODUCTION
The Methow Valley Ranger District which belongs to Forest Service, cooperates with the
Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation (Yakama Nation) and Bonneville Power
Administration (BPA), propose to re establish, enhance and improve the diversity of aquatic habitat
for Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed fish in the River Mile (R.M.) 15.5 20 reach of the Chewuch
River. They plan to start this project on the Methow Valley Ranger District of the Okanogan
Wenatchee National Forest in Okanogan County in north central Washington State starting in the
summer of 2017. This Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared compliant to the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) ... Show more

The major environmental issue is that lack of habitat diversity in the Chewuch River limited fish
productivity for anadromous fish listed under the Endangered Species Act. There is a need to restore
habitat diversity by increasing large wood quantities, pool frequency and quality, and re establishing
side and off channel habitat to improve fish habitat for ESA listed species.
PROPOSED ACTION AND ALTERNATIVE
The Forest Service and the Yakama Nation, funded by BPA, are currently proposing restoration
actions on the Chewuch River from R.M. 15.5 to 20.0. The proposed project has been designed to
enhance fish habitat and to improve fish habitat diversity by Increasing habitat complexity by the
introduction of large wood. Increasing pool habitat, and restoring historical off channel habitat. On the
other hand, the No Action Alternative would neither restore wood or stream side channels in the 15.5
20 R.M. nor any other river restoration activities. The recovery process will follow the nurture
processes.
STRENGTH
This EA is clearly and contains details in every section. Additionally, this EA complied with the NEPA
requirements which four sections covered all the information. The EA contains the purpose and need
for the summary, followed by the second part which is alternative description, and the third section is
existing condition and environmental consequences, finally, the last section contains the references.

Not all people working for non governmental organizations are volunteers.
Many NGOs are associated with the use of international staff working in developing countries, but
there are many NGOs in both North and South who rely on local employees or volunteers.
Whether the NGOs are small or large, various NGOs need budgets to operate. The amount of budget
that they need would differ from NGOs to NGOs. Unlike small NGOs, large NGOs may have annual
budgets in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars.. Major sources of NGO funding are
membership dues, the sale of goods and services, grants from international institutions or national
governments, and private donations. Several EU grants provide funds accessible to NGOs.

Running a Dairy Industry
A) Primary Production To achieve a well run dairy that is efficient and profitable there are many
factors and resources that contribute. Planning and operation management are tools in which farmers
use to accomplish the objectives (Brand, Noordhuizen and Schukken, 1996, p.7). There is a lot more
involved in managing a dairy farm other than the milking process, farmers have many roles to carry
out to ensure a successful operation for example: financial management, land management,
maintenance, health care, crop production, reproduction and herd replacement. Financial management
and recording (including bookkeeping), help farmers to keep track of cash flow, payable and
receivable. Aspects include borrowing and investing money, buying feed, fertiliser and temporary
water, income from milk sales and payment for external services such as consultants and agronomists
(On the Farm Dairy Australia, 2011). Land management includes pasture growth, sprinkler irrigation
systems, fixing fences and fertilising paddocks. Farmers are more aware these days about
environmental impacts caused by agricultural practices and implement ways to prevent degradation
such as planting trees and shrubs to increase river bank stability to reduce soil erosion and fencing off
river banks so the soil and plants will not be spoilt by a herd trampling on them. Settling ponds for
water runoff from dairies are set up to prevent the contaminated water entering the rivers, dams and
streams (On the Farm

This journal article provides an overview of understanding the needs of women with postnatal
depression. The author states the importance of early detection of postnatal depression. The National
Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence recommends to assess the pregnant women during their

postnatal period, at around four to six weeks and at three to four months. The article also mentions the

Strategic Growth Is A Viable Characteristic For Any...
Strategic growth is a viable characteristic for any organization. Convergence Consulting Group
exemplifies this reasoning. Over the past decade, year over year growth has become the norm for
Convergence. Competing in the ever maturing market of business intelligence consulting,
Convergence must think strategically about how to maintain their growth.
Currently, Convergence is experiencing stagnant growth, which is attributable to the paradigm shift in
how organizations gather and analyze enterprise data. The days of building on premise data
warehouses are giving away to cloud based offerings. While still in the early stages, business
intelligence (BI) within the cloud is becoming ever so popular with organizations around the globe.
Based on this premise, Convergence must implement a strategic initiative to expand their
expertise/service into cloud based BI.
Facts
Fact #1
Gartner Inc., the world s leading information technology research and advisory company, releases a
comprehensive report on business intelligence each year. The report, Magic Quadrant for Business
Intelligence and Analytics Platforms, stated that in 2015, 40% of customer surveyed use cloud
business intelligence or plan to do so in the next twelve months (Gartner, 2015).
Based upon the increasing number of corporations seeking to implement cloud business intelligence
solutions over the coming years, Convergence could position itself as a subject matter expert within
cloud business intelligence.

William Penn Influence On American History
Many significant characters are in history, but in my opinion William Penn took a big part. History is
formed by people in order for these significant events to happen. We live in a world today where many
important people made changes to form how it is. William Penn isn t just another guy in the crowd; he
s made a bigger impact thank you think. We need to appreciate what all the people in history did from
their accomplishments and impacts they had on others and not just their self.
William Penn was known as a founder of Pennsylvania. He was also an English real estate
entrepreneur, philosopher, early Quaker, and founder of other places other than Pennsylvania. Penn
was born October 14, 1644. He lived in the United Kingdom most of his life. ... Show more content on

In 1677, two hundred settlers from Hertfordshire founded the town of Burlington. Although this is a
significant event, Penn wasn t with them. Instead he stayed in England because he had a project. He
drafted the charter of liberties, and he guaranteed free and fair trial by Jury, Freedom of religion,
freedom of unjust imprisonment, and free elections. In my opinion William Penn sounded like a very
well successful, educated man. The king at the time was Charles II of England. The king had a large
loan with Penn s father that settled things after Penn s father died. On March 4, 1681, Penn was given
a large area West and South of New Jersey by the king. William called this place Sylvania. In Latin
this word meant woods . I think this king was very understand and chose to make others happy while
doing his job to make sure the people knew he cared. Charles changed the founded place to
Pennsylvania in honor of William s father, but before that happened, Penn was the leading defender of
religious toleration in England. Being religious was a law. The king was glad to have discovered a
place for religious outsiders could come to such as other Quakers who wanted a different place to live
away from England. Penn wanted to do this to make peace with everyone so they re all welcomed and
invited. I think if a country went to war, we would be ok since we were trying to be allies with other
religious people from anywhere. Since the King was in England, William made the first county Bucks
County, named after Buckinghamshire in England. As Pennsylvania grew most of Penn s family
migrated there, and it was welcomed for any other people to settle there. William wrote to the Indians
to make peace between them, but he didn t want to acknowledge them wrong. He has a quote that says
Be tender of offending the Indians...To soften them to me, and the people, let them know you are
come to sit down lovingly with them...Be grave, they

Essay on The Argument from Design, by William Paley
During the 1800th century, William Paley, an English philosopher of religion and ethics, wrote the
essay The Argument from Design. In The Argument from Design, Paley tries to prove the existence of
a supreme being through the development of a special kind of argument known as the teleological
argument. The teleological argument is argument by analogy, an argument based on the similarities
between two different subjects. This essay purposefully attempts to break down Paley s argument and
does so in the following manner: firstly, Paley s basis for the teleological argument is introduced;
secondly, Paley s argument is derived and analyzed; thirdly, the connection between Paley s argument
and the existence of a supreme being is made; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having introduced Paley s main a posteriori experience, the following paragraphs will describe and
justify Paley s reasoning for using such argument to describe the existence of a superior being. Firstly,
Paley concentrates in the process leading to the creation of the watch. The process for creating a watch
is very systematic and involves knowledge of mechanical engineering, a trade known to few men. Yet,
it is not necessary to know the inner workings of the watch to use it on a daily basis: it is only
necessary to understand the relationship between the position of the watch s hands to the sunrise and
sunset of day. Paley concludes that even though he could not create a watch, some supreme being
could create such watch. In other words, anything that shows evidence of creation has a creator and
such creator exists or has existed at one point in time. To further refine the previous conclusion, Paley
acknowledges the imprecision of the watch, for the watch is not always correct in predicting time. The
watch might get ahead or behind, but the overall purpose for which the watch was created remains
intact: it might predict the wrong time, note however, that it still predicts time. The conclusion in the
previous paragraph is not contradicted by any of the watch s faults simply because the being s purpose
for creating the watch still exists. Therefore, Paley s supreme being not only creates but also does so
with a specific purpose.

The Comanche Tribe
The Comanche Tribe is made up of brilliant horsemen who took control of the Southern Plains. They
are most known for playing a large role in Texas frontier during most of the eighteenth and nineteenth
centuries. Although the Comanche s lived near the upper reaches of the Platte River in eastern
Wyoming, they later established themselves from western Oklahoma to the Texas Panhandle into New
Mexico. Today, currently 5,000 Comanche s live near Lawton, Oklahoma; their tribal headquarters.
Although the name Comanche fits the tribe, considering that the meaning of the word is enemy or, in

Entering AAgreement Binding Agreement
The parties to the contract must have intended to enter legally binding relations, this is defined as the
intention to enter a legally binding agreement or contract. If the parties do not intend to enter a legally
binding contract, in which the parties must come to an agreement of both sides, the contract may
become a mere promise. In Balfour v Balfour, the husband promised to pay his wife £30 a month,
when he failed to pay his wife tried to sue him, the wife s action failed as an intention to enter a
legally binding agreement could not be found, the court also held that the burden of proof of entering a
legally binding agreement is on the plaintiff to prove. Initially, what the courts will recognise as a
legally binding contract is that the parties to the contract intended to enter a legally binding contract.
Also the parties to the contract must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. Young person s is
defined in the S3 Age of Majority Act, as anyone under the age of 18. Young person s capacity to enter
a legally binding contract is limited, however unclear in legislation generally minors are not able to be
a party to a contract. People with mental impairments are also limited in being parties to a contract if
they do not know what they are entering into. A valid contract must firstly possess key terms in which
both the promisee and promisor are initially creating a purpose for the contract. The HL in the case of

Veterans Stadium History Known for its treacherous Astroturf, deafening acoustics and its unruly 700 Level, The Vet, as it was commonly known, was home to both the Phillies of Major League Baseball and the Eagles of the Nation Football League from 1971 to 2003. Veterans Stadium represented more than just a sports venue, it represented the heart and soul of the city of brotherly love, the place with the most rabid but loyal of fans in the nation. Veterans stadium created lifelong memories in Philadelphia s sports world, and left a longstanding impression on everyone privileged enough to attend a game there. On the morning of March 21, 204, Veterans Stadium was imploded in 62 seconds. The sight was said to be and emotional sight and many from players to fans stood watch it came down. Today, the land where the great stadium once stood serves as a parking lot for events held at Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Ballpark, the new homes of the Eagles and Phillies. The Bill of Rights of 1689 The Bill of Rights of 1689 By Christos Stamelos The Bill of Rights of 1689 The Bills of Rights of 1689 is a legal document encompassing the basic rights and liberties of the English people. It was compiled as the title states in December 1689 with the title An Act Declaring the Rights and Liberties of the Subject and Settling the Succession of the Crown and constitutes a statutory statement that is formal written enactment of a legislative authority that governs a state, city, or county. It was result of mounting pressures to remind the King Charles I of the Rights laid out in the Magna Carta(1215) which he clearly challenged by dissolving the parliament and governing by decree. Following, it describes the developments before this meeting referring to the resignation of the throne from James II and the assignment of it to William the Prince of Orange and the call to all regional authorities to send their representatives to be present in the proceedings. After that, the document defines the changing relationship between the crown and Parliament by declaring that no monarch will ever again undermine the rights and liberties of the people and in the next paragraph, it states that William of Orange will honor the rights of the British, establishing a safety clause for any future claims of James II. • 4. Art Museum Analysis When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other choice but to give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it so I almost forgot about the rest of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear when walking through those doors. The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole s piece caught my eye due to the simplicity of it. He took something as simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each individual brush stroke. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though those seem to be bold, you can see the delicate detail put into each section making the piece flow beautifully. His strokes are smooth, yet uneven, giving the piece an interesting twist. The background offers a somewhat ominous sky, using what seems to be only whites and greys. The background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the piece. The foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are used to display the ongoing naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can see some sort of animal. Cole being a famous American landscape artist would make it only obvious to have animals in some of his ... Intelligence matters have greatly improved on this front compared to the way things used to be prior to the September 11th terror attacks, but there are areas that still need to be addressed. The Department of Homeland Security has also helped get information to the field by creating fusion cells, the (JCAT), and encouraging the use of intelligence based policing. Congress, in an attempt to address the shortfalls in our counterterrorism system, drafted the USA PATRIOT Act. The law did close many policy gaps, but it also unintentionally infringed upon the civil liberties of the very citizens it was designed to protect. The most contentious parts of the act were the changes in search warrant procedures, unlimited access to records, and wiretap procedures. The act allowed law enforcement and intelligence personnel to request sneak and peek warrants, meaning that they were allowed to enter into a suspect s home without informing him/her that they were being investigated. Intelligence personnel say this is needed to avoid alerting a terrorist cell s members of an investigation, but critics claim that this process could also be used against non terrorism suspects. • 6. Analysis of Wal Mart Essay Analysis of Wal Mart Wal Mart is the largest retailer in Canada , Mexico and USA. In addition to that Wal Mart has been known in USA not only for its dimensions but also for a very big number of reasons and good values. I think the best way to start an analysis about Wal mart strategy is to see where the company is now with the use of a brief Swot analysis. As far as the Strengths are concerned , I think that one of the most important features Wal Mart has is the customer approach. Sam Walton wanted its organization to provide the customers with the so called aggressive hospitality and with this Walton meant that the employers have to provide the customers with all they need , they always ... As we know is always important to have a clear mission statement because it helps to have a more clear vision about the company and especially about the purposes of the company. Another weakness is that the women employees are paid less than the men employees are. This problem arose in 2003 when the company had to face with a federal lawsuit filed by six female employees complaining that there were discriminations against women in pay. This fact was also underlined by some studies based on the Wal Mart s payroll data. As far the opportunities are concerned I think that the European market can be a market where to put more efforts in the expansion . Another opportunity can be the creation of an online store where the people can buy their items and have them delivered at home. The threats are that some small cities do not want Wal mart to install its business locally because they want to maintain their own business integrity. Another problem is that the products Wal Mart sells are very standardized and so easy to substitute with other products . People ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Anti Roadway Carnage Bill Dear Citizen, My gripe is with texting and driving. This is one of the most serious public health issues of our time. I cannot for the life of me believe this practice has not yet been outlawed. Last year in the United States, driver distraction was the cause of 16% of all fatal crashes, killing 5800 people. A further 515,000 people were wounded as the result of distracted driving. The worst part is that up to 50% of teenagers the least experienced drivers on the road report texting and driving. We are teaching the next generation to drive without teaching them about responsibility. Other states have already passed laws, but our politicians are on record as saying they cannot ban something they do themselves. How irresponsible! Thankfully, Senator Jim Duncan is proposing a bill that would outlaw texting and driving. Please click here to sign a petition supporting Prop 733T, the Anti Roadway Carnage Bill, and help keep our streets safe. Sincerely, Concerned Activist This persuasive memo is designed to sell an idea, that texting and driving should be banned. The design put forth by Bowman (2002) is the basis of the letter. The pacing of the letter is quick, with short sentences and simple ideas. The reason for this is to generate an emotional response to help motivate the reader. The core of the argument comes in the first two lines, so there is little time to for the reader to tune out. Bowman also prescribes blending ideas, including blending truth and ... Self Regulation In High School Self regulation is having the capability to watch and control your emotions and behavior and being able to adjust them in agreement with the demands of a particular situation. Self regulation begins during the first few weeks of life, it is thought that this begins once an infant obtains the ability to settle back to sleep by themselves. This is a good example of self regulation because in this situation the infant is able to control their emotions and adjust it to their situation so they can go to sleep. • 10. The Shipping News Proulx Qualities As empathetic beings, it is always refreshing to see when the one with less advantages rises above adversity to end on top. In The Shipping News Proulx uses the underdog archetype to portray the journey one may seek when the odds are stacked against them by her writing style and point of view to create the strongly composed characters in her book. In the book, The Shipping News, I believe that Proulx s composition and characterization of her characters is impeccable. In a book where the character s fate is determined by their looks and physical attributes, it is essential that Proulx heavily stresses how the characters are composed physically. For example, Quoyle (the protagonist), is said to have A damp loaf of a body. At six he weighed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 11. Student Loan Vs. Private Loan In order to get ahead in today s society people must take a risk. That risk may include taking out student loans in order to acquire the necessary degree for their wanted job. For some taking out student loans in the only way to achieve their goal of going to college. There are many different types of student loans that a person could qualify for, for example, a federal loan or private loan. No matter what type of loan is being offered before someone should accept any type of loan and the responsibilities that come along with it they should consider the positives and negative repercussions that could occur. Often times people hear many negative things about student loans but there are a few positive things about them. A student loan allows someone to attend college and further their education which gives them benefits that they will be able to use later in life. The main benefit and reason individuals go to college is to reach the goal of a higher education, greater employment opportunities and solid earnings and student loans make that possible (Venable 2). It could also be a positive thing depending on the amount a person borrows and terms they agree to pay it back. Having student loans that are possible to make regular payments on is an opportunity to increase a person s credit score allowing better financial opportunities, for example, being able to acquire a car loan, business loan, or mortgage (Venable 2). • 14. The King And The Chessboard Of Wheat Humans have many methods to describe large numbers mathematically. Ever since the invention of the concept of zero essential to the ancients for keeping good records of various transactions humans have been using mathematics to describe ever larger quantities of items. The story of the king and the chessboard of wheat demonstrates that while humans have been using large numbers since the dawn of history; using and comprehending are two entirely different things. In the story, a king tells a clever mathematician that he may ask for any reward he wishes for his services to the kingdom. And so the mathematician asks for one grain of rice to be placed on the first square of a chessboard, and then double that on the second square, and then double the second on the third, and so on. By the time all the rice would be added up, it would equal well over the production of rice in the entire modern world! Needless to say, the mathematician did not receive his reward . The same concept applies to time, at some point the human mind ceases to differentiate between larger and larger timescales. Like the king and his chessboard, we have trouble contemplating the vast eons of time that lie between us and the creation of the earth. Each day seems like a grain of rice, so small that it seems as though they could never add up to anything substantial. However, looking back allows us to put ourselves into perspective. This shows John Paul II s personality perfectly because he actually cared about people. But, Pope John Paul II did not only care about Catholic people, he cared about everyone. So, Pope John Paul II tried to relate with everyone which could consider him a very influential person. Throughout his papal life, Pope John Paul II updated and strengthened the image of the Catholic Church, solved many problems like communism and religious differences, and reenergized the Church teachings and its members. Pope John Paul II updated and strengthened the image of the Catholic Church because he traveled and talked to everyone. Before Pope John Paul II, popes did not travel very far and some did not travel at all. This made it hard for people to put a face to the pope and they were not able to make the Church personable. Though his church can be slow to change, John Paul was not slow to act. Even though he did not use papal infallibility to prove what he thought was right people still believed in him, because he was such a great Pope. • 16. Kolcaba Middle Range Comfort Case Study Kolcaba middle range comfort theory was presented in the early 1990s, and it included three technical senses of comfort; relief, ease, and transcendence (Kolcaba, 2003). The nurse needs to identify the specific discomfort and the support required. After a nurse has identified and provided comfort interventions, the patient will move through the three technical senses. Kolcaba coined the patient s comfort needs are met as the relief phase. She describes the next stage as ease and is reach once the patient is content. Lastly, she noted in the transcendence that the patient would be able to rise above the discomfort, leading to positive patient outcomes. Kolcaba stated holistic comfort is achieved through a context of four human experiences: physical, psychospiritual, sociocultural, and environment. She developed the taxonomic structure of comfort that incorporates all aspects of comfort theory (Kolcaba, 2003). The taxonomic structure is a grid with the three technical senses listed horizontal and the four human experiences listed vertically (Kolcaba, 2010). The grid can be used as a tool in the assessment and intervention process by tracking the patient s progress through the stages of comfort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When judges use precedent they look back on old court decision on similar cases and then rule the same. When using stare decisis the judges will look back on prior ruling and adjust their rulings for more modern day use for a more equal fairness under the law. Both Stare decisis and precedents are important because with them the need for reviewing ever case has lessened. Another reason is that it proves a more balanced and limits any unfairness in punishment. Originally designed by Antoni Rovira i Trias, an architect and urban planner who publically favored the destruction of walls in Barcelona and supported free growth in the city. Trias was a very outspoken architect and called for a change in the way Barcelona should be urbanized and he actually won the competition, in 1859, for the design of the expansion of the city. However, the central Spanish government in Madrid favored Cerda s plan instead. Nevertheless, Trias continued with his work as an architect and he designed the markets of La Concepcio in 1885, the Born in 1873, and most importantly for this research paper, the San Antoni market completed in 1882. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were two powerful individuals who gave hope to African Americans and oppressed people in the United States. One of Martin Luther King Jr. s greatest civil right acts accomplishment was the march on Washington on August 28, 1963 where more than 20,000 people came to march from Washington to the Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C. In the March for Jobs and Freedom in Washington D.C. 1963 King gave his famous I Have a Dream speech that spoke of his hope for equality for all Americans. Martin Luther King Jr. wanted all the races to come together for the hatred, discrimination, and violence to be put to an end. Beyond the 1963 March on Washington, King and his followers used a variety of nonviolent tactics to achieve equality through grassroots activism, including the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, the student sin ins of 1960, the Freedom Rides of 1961, the 1963 demonstrations in Birmingham, and the Selma March of 1965. These provided King with the opportunity to demonstrate the power of nonviolence in destroyed legal segregation in American life (Cone 176). The 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Bill showed the success of King s nonviolent approach. Even though Martin Luther King, Jr. worked with white leaders to try and achieve civil rights for African Americans, he knew that the African American community was getting frustrated with the way things were going. The Importance Of Proper Sexual Education On Sex Kaislyn Lyons Mr. Ray English 1301.3 20 November 2015 The Importance of Proper Sexual Education In life, high school especially, sexual education is very important and can truly impact a person s life. Improper education on sex can lead to many life changing mistakes. These blunders can be avoided with proper knowledge. Although students should be encouraged to remain abstinent, they should still be taught about contraception and practicing safe sex. With proper sexual education, abstinence rates will increase and the numbers of teenage parents will decrease. In today s society, sex is everywhere. It is on TV, in music, in novels, magazines, and even hidden. As a teenager, peer pressure also has a very strong presence. Kids are encouraged by their peers to look a certain way, act a certain way, belief certain things, and change themselves to fit in with the norm . Whenever they do not meet the standards of society they are teased for being different. This negativity increases when it comes to the topics of sex. Just because an individual has chosen to abstain for sexual activity, they are dubbed an outcast. Their beliefs and strong morals come back to bite them in the presence of their peers. Premarital sex is often glamorized. Teens are shown that engaging in sex is cool despite the risks. This obscure view is due to a lack of information and proper education. Many schools often shy away from the subject of sex. Parents also shut out the topic. This leaves teens to look ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The memories of a person is what shapes their lives and leaves an impression on other people s lives as well. Without these memories, their lives would have been meaningless. In W. H. Presidential Elections Dbq Television is an important educational tool in society, however, it does not have a place in presidential elections, due to the inequality and lack of substantive discussion in televised debates, as well as irrelevant physical standards being placed upon presidential candidates. Journalists agree that political debates are an ineffective method for deciding the leader of the country, and they are not worth the use of television resources. Should the decision of who is in charge of a massive country be made based on physical appearances, such as height, hairstyle and other superficial traits? Using these methods of deduction to decide an elected official is extremely unintelligent and ineffective compared to the alternative, an intelligent interview printed in an article or magazine. There is a lot more involved in managing a dairy farm other than the milking process, farmers have many roles to carry out to ensure a successful operation for example: financial management, land management, maintenance, health care, crop production, reproduction and herd replacement. In my opinion William Penn sounded like a very well successful, educated man. The king at the time was Charles II of England. The king had a large loan with Penn s father that settled things after Penn s father died. On March 4, 1681, Penn was given a large area West and South of New Jersey by the king. William called this place Sylvania. In Latin this word meant woods . I think this king was very understand and chose to make others happy while doing his job to make sure the people knew he cared. Charles changed the founded place to Pennsylvania in honor of William s father, but before that happened, Penn was the leading defender of religious toleration in England. Being religious was a law. The king was glad to have discovered a place for religious outsiders could come to such as other Quakers who wanted a different place to live away from England. Penn wanted to do this to make peace with everyone so they re all welcomed and invited. I think if a country went to war, we would be ok since we were trying to be allies with other religious people from anywhere. Since the King was in England, William made the first county Bucks County, named after Buckinghamshire in England. As Pennsylvania grew most of Penn s family migrated there, and it was welcomed for any other people to settle there. William wrote to the Indians to make peace between them, but he didn t want to acknowledge them wrong. In The Argument from Design, Paley tries to prove the existence of a supreme being through the development of a special kind of argument known as the teleological argument. The teleological argument is argument by analogy, an argument based on the similarities between two different subjects. This essay purposefully attempts to break down Paley s argument and does so in the following manner: firstly, Paley s basis for the teleological argument is introduced; secondly, Paley s argument is derived and analyzed; thirdly, the connection between Paley s argument and the existence of a supreme being is made; and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having introduced Paley s main a posteriori experience, the following paragraphs will describe and justify Paley s reasoning for using such argument to describe the existence of a superior being. Firstly, Paley concentrates in the process leading to the creation of the watch. The process for creating a watch is very systematic and involves knowledge of mechanical engineering, a trade known to few men. Yet, it is not necessary to know the inner workings of the watch to use it on a daily basis: it is only necessary to understand the relationship between the position of the watch s hands to the sunrise and sunset of day. Paley concludes that even though he could not create a watch, some supreme being could create such watch. In other words, anything that shows evidence of creation has a creator and such creator exists or has existed at one point in time. To further refine the previous conclusion, Paley acknowledges the imprecision of the watch, for the watch is not always correct in predicting time. The watch might get ahead or behind, but the overall purpose for which the watch was created remains intact: it might predict the wrong time, note however, that it still predicts time. The conclusion in the previous paragraph is not contradicted by any of the watch s faults simply because the being s purpose for creating the watch still exists. Therefore, Paley s supreme being not only creates but also does so with a specific purpose. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
