After reading Kapic s A Little Book for New Theologian, a false dichotomy that I have come across
throughout many churches and the body of Christ is the dilemma between giving and receiving. Many
people are so concerned with their treasures on Earth, that they will do whatever it takes to maintain
that treasure. Furthermore, pride gets in the way of individuals receiving the blessings of the Lord

Kapic (2012, 52) states the faith to receive and submit to divine revelation is not acquired at the
conclusion of syllogistic exercise; it is a gift from God. Everyone struggles with something. However,
the church does not seek assistance because it would be viewed negatively, or that individual has too
much pride to receive something that they, or their family, needs. My argument would be if we do not
allow ourselves to be put in a position to receive from others, then we can never receive God s many
blessings either.
In order to resolve the false dichotomy between giving and receiving, I think individuals need to
recognize the importance of having a healthy balance of both ideals. It s important as followers of
Christ to know how to both give and receive of our time, money, energy, talents, etc. Additionally, I
think the dichotomy can be resolved by recognizing a weakness or lack of understanding in one of the
two ideals. If a church or an individual is able to give without question but has a problem receiving ,
then that church or individual needs to focus on that ideal to resolve the

There is overwhelming evidence that the Book of the Duchess was written as a commemorative poem

criminal justice policies. The reasons why other industrialized nations have less violent crime than in

In this SA, we will study translocation of DNA damage repair proteins from the cytoplasm to
mitochondria in response to mtDNA damage induced by mt OX in A549 cells. We will treat A549

will perform differential ultracentrifugation to isolate cellular fractions as previously described (18).
