Patients Claims Of Denial Of Services Essay
Patients Claims of Denial of Services in Healthcare Facility The Office for Civil Rights of the U.S.
Department of Health Human Services enforces federal laws that prohibit discrimination by health
care and human service providers. Both Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Title II of the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibit discrimination against qualified persons with HIV
other disabilities. Section 504 prohibits discrimination by health care and human services providers
called entities that receive federal funds or some other types of federal assistance. Title II prohibits
discrimination by state and local government entities even if they do not receive federal financial
assistance. Hospitals, clinics, drug treatment center, nursing homes are all entities covered by Section
504. The Americans with Disabilities Act also protects other persons, such as family friends, who are
discriminated against because of their association with someone who has HIV. If patient believes that
they have been discriminated against and denied services because of having HIV/AIDS the individual
and his/her representative may file a complaint with Office of Civil Rights. The deadline of filing a
complaint is 180 days from the date the discrimination occurred, unless there is a good reason for the
delay. Complaint forms are posted online and should be completed with personal information, name

Essay about The Origins of the Cold War
The Origins of the Cold War
The Cold War was a state of extreme hostility and confrontation but without direct militant action
between the two world powers, the USSR and the USA. The USSR and the USA were originally
wartime Allies during the Second World War; however a string of events and issues caused a built up
of suspicion and distrust which finally escalated to what was known as the Cold War. The start of Cold
War can be simply defined as the period of time whereby both powers were simultaneously hostile to
each other and the idea of peaceful cooperation could not exist anymore.
Churchill s Iron Curtain Speech was a warning of Soviet influence beyond Eastern Europe. Churchill

The Truman Doctrine was an open and direct confrontation of the Soviets. In it, the Soviets were
accused of political oppression , suppression of personal freedoms and were even perceived as evil by
the Americans. Under the Doctrine, the US policy was to support people who resisted attempted
subjugation by outside pressure which meant the Soviets. The US felt the need to assist the free people
against the spread of Communism and saw the Soviets as a threat and an enemy. This was the first
concrete and coherent American foreign policy towards the USSR. There was no immediate official
response from the Soviet government. However, a few months later, the Soviet Two Camps Speech
emerged stating Soviet stand to American aggression. It stated officially that the USSR was anti
democracy. Also the need to prevent Western powers desire to dominate the world was emphasized;
therefore the policy of cooperation between the Socialist and Liberal parties would cease to exist.
Communist parties in Western European countries were told to adopt a militant anti government
stance. The USSR was no longer keen on peaceful cooperation and acknowledged the fact that the
Americans and the Soviets could no longer be allies. This marked the start of the Cold War as the
Truman Doctrine instigated and caused the end of any form of peaceful

The Earned Income Tax Credit
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a federal program that provides low to moderate income
workers, including many who are poor, with extra income through tax refunds. It also encourages low
income parents to go to work by lowering their tax rate and providing a financial bonus for their work
effort. Congress originally approved the tax credit in 1975 partly to help offset the burden of social
security taxes for families and to provide an incentive to work. When the credit exceeds the amount of
taxes owed, it results in a tax refund to those who claim and qualify for it. It s been especially effective
in encouraging single parents, mainly single mothers, to obtain employment. In 2003 alone, this tax
credit provided 22 million American families and their children, with $34 billion in cash assistance
(Francis 2014). The credit has been expanded several times since its creation, and more than half of
the U.S. states and the District of Columbia now have their own supplemental EITCs.
There are four main qualifications needed to receive the credit. First, an individual must have a valid
Social Security number. Second, an individual must earn income either from working for someone
else or from owning or operating a business. Third, an individual must be a U.S. citizen or resident or
the spouse of a U.S. citizen or resident for the entire tax year. Finally, earned income and adjusted
gross income must both be below income limits that vary by the number of children in a

Yeats s Interest in Rhythm
The purpose of rhythm, it has always seemed to me, is to prolong the moment of contemplation, the
moment when we are both awake and asleep, which is the one moment of creation, by hushing us with
an alluring monotony, while it holds us waking by variety, to keep us in that state of perhaps real
trance, in which the mind liberated from the pressure of the will is unfolded in symbols. (W.B. Yeats)
What light does this comment of Yeats shed on his poetry? Feel free in your answer to concentrate on
poetic devices other than rhythm if you prefer. Yeats interest in rhythm was deeply tied to the notion
of the sound of the earth and nature, and our relationship with the elements. He also had a profound
interest and belief in faery, and the ways in which one could transcend material reality in order to
reach that world which ran alongside the natural world. Yet Yeats, who was born in 1865 and died in
1939, lived through an era of immense scientific discovery and change. He lived in a world where, by
and large, to believe in faery was to be irrational, and the industrial hum of engines prevailed over the
quieter sounds of nature. In his earlier poetry, he conveys a certain reverence towards the ancient
rhythms of language and nature, flying in the face of the frenetically busy London life he experienced
as a young man. The bewitching beauty of the landscape of Sligo, steeped in folklore, were the true
rhythms which brought on the state of perhaps real trance , allowing him to

Culture of Cuba
The Culture Of Cuba
Andrew Mengel
Moravian College
The Culture of Cuba Cuba has a complex but rich culture that has been broadening in all aspects in its
society. Its semi forbidden access to Americans makes it a curious destination for adventitious people.
The largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba has been inhabited since the mid 1400s by various
Mesoamerican tribes, until 1492 when Christopher Columbus invaded the island and took it over. It
remained a colony of Spain until the Spanish American war in 1898, and briefly became a colony of
the United States. A few years later, Cuba than gained nominal independence from America in 1902
and functioned under a democratic republic, despite weak leaders in their national ... Show more

They both use a similar alphabet, but the way their grammar is structured, along with the philosophy
of the language, it varies in many ways. Spanish is a very phonetic language, meaning every letter
represents one sound. (Brown and Patten) On the contrary, English is very irregular when it comes to
spelling and pronunciation. For instance, look at the way the following words vary even though the
sounds are similar Barry, berry and bury. Although the same sounds are being used, the words are
completely different in definition and in context. Another difference is Spanish categorizes certain
groups of words by masculine and feminine, as do most languages. (Brown and Patten) However,
English has no gender restrictions besides pronouns. There are also differences in the sentence
structure that both languages possess. Spanish verbs always agree with the subject, where in English,
the verbs are based on if they are being used in the past, present or future. Finally, one other striking
difference in the language is the vocabulary that is associated with each language. Spanish has a rich
vocabulary, however they all derive from Latin or originated from a Spanish culture, making the
language more pure. English, on the other hand, has adopted words from various languages and is a
mixed. (Brown and Patten) For example, king (Old English), zero (Arabic), royal (French), cargo
(Spanish), and sovereign (Latin)

Benefits Of A New Team
When I was in Noida working for Headstrong, my team used to go out for lunch on special occasions.
As that area had quite many options, sometimes we used to be in a fix as to where to go. Another
reason for long decision making was because different people had their own tastes. And, few of them
had even been to places we were zeroing in on and didn t want to go again. Now, that was a mess as it
would delay our outings that were supposed to become a lifetime memory for a few at least! We tried
to plan well ahead in advance, but that also had issues as people wanted to delay it to the last minute.
We primarily relied on word of mouth recommendations and what we as a team preferred the most.
All in all, it used to go just fine most of the times. However, i remember one incident when one of our
new team members strongly recommended a restaurant to which his family were regular visitors for
many years. He was giving mouthwatering description of the dishes available there and most of us
melted like butter on a parantha and were looking forward to go there. Come the D day, being a
foodie, i was especially charged up; but there was one delay after another as few of the folks were held
up in meetings. It was way past my usual lunch time and finally, we went ahead around quarter to 3.
We were all very hungry but to our utter disappointment we found the place closed.
The colleague who had recommended us looked pretty sad and asked nearby shops if the restaurant
had closed for good.

Essay about Salmonella enterica typhi
Salmonella enterica typhi
Introduction:
Worldwide, typhoid fever affects roughly 17 million people annually, causing nearly 600,000 deaths.
The causative agent, Salmonella enterica typhi (referred to as Salmonella typhi from now on), is an
obligate parasite that has no known natural reservoir outside of humans. Little is known about the
historical emergence of human S. typhi infections, however it is thought to have caused the deaths of
many famous figures such as British author and poet Rudyard Kipling, the inventor of the airplane,
Wilbur Wright, and the Greek Empire s Alexander the Great. The earliest recorded epidemic occurred
in Jamestown, VA where it is thought that 6,000 people died of typhoid fever in the early 17th ... Show

It also produces no gas when grown in TSI media, which is used to differentiate it from other
Enterobacteriaceae.
Typhoid/ Enteric Fever:
Infection of S. typhi leads to the development of typhoid, or enteric fever. This disease is characterized
by the sudden onset of a sustained and systemic fever, severe headache, nausea, and loss of appetite.
Other symptoms include constipation or diarrhea, enlargement of the spleen, possible development of
meningitis, and/or general malaise. Untreated typhoid fever cases result in mortality rates ranging
from 12 30% while treated cases allow for 99% survival.
Virulence Factors:
S. typhi has a combination of characteristics that make it an effective pathogen. This species contains
an endotoxin typical of Gram negative organisms, as well as the Vi antigen which is thought to
increase virulence. It also produces and excretes a protein known as invasin that allows non
phagocytic cells to take up the bacterium, where it is able to live intracellularly. It is also able to
inhibit the oxidative burst of leukocytes, making innate immune response ineffective.
Epidemiology:
The encounter of humans to S. typhi is made via fecal oral route from infected individuals to healthy
ones. Poor hygiene of patients shedding the organism can lead to secondary infection, as well as
consumption of shellfish from polluted bodies

The Crusades Paper
The Crusades were expeditions that originated in completion of a solemn vow in order to deliver the
Holy areas from Mohammedan domination. The origin of the word can be traced to the cross. This
meaningful cross was worn as a badge on the outer garment of those who took part in these enterprises
and also made out of cloth. Since the Middle Ages, the meaning of the word crusade has been
comprehended to contain all wars undertaken in the act or practice of pursuing a vow. It was also
directed against infidels who were the Mohammedans, Pagans, Heretics, or those under the bar of
excommunication. Modern literature has abused the word crusade by applying it to all wars having
anything to do with religion. An example would be the voyage of ... Show more content on

In Asia Minor, they turned to spoils and were nearly all slaughtered by the Turks. Meanwhile,
according to the well thought out plan, the four principal armies were to meet at Constantinople and
the regular crusade was being organized in the West. The Germans, the French from the north,
Godfrey of Bouillon, and the Duke of Lower Lorraine followed the valley the Danube, crossed into
Hungary and arrived at Constantinople on December 23rd,1096. Several different groups of Christian
leaders would proceed in all directions for the conquest and fight for Christianity in the East. Hugh of
Vermandois, brother of King Philip I of France, Count Stephen of Blois, and Robert Courte Heuse,
Duke of Normandy would lead groups of French and Normans across the Alps and were heading
towards Apulia where they took the Via Eqnatia to Constantinople and set up troop in May of 1097.
The French from the south were lead by Raymond of Saint Gilles, Bishop of Puy, Count of Toulouse,
and Papal legislation.

Anne Frank the Play vs Anne Frank the Movie
Anne Frank the Play vs Anne Frank the Movie
In class, we had the opportunity to watch Anne Frank the movie, and a while back we heard the play.
The Anne Frank play was very similar to the Anne Frank movie, but they also had some differences
which made them different from each other. For example, by watching the movie, we hear that the
characters lines are practically the same as to the characters lines in the play, this in fact is a very big
similarity. In my opinion, the movie was better because you could actually see whats going on, and
not like the play were I have to use my imagination to picture what is going on. The movie was also
better because its differences to the play made it a little bit more enjoyable.

making the movie. I say this because for a live performance, you would have to go through the hard

The Movements Of The Trains
The movements of the trains were primarily conducted by night to increase cover up and prevent
detection. The German army limited their scouting and enforced strict communication discipline
during the buildup of their German supply lines and troops. This included and not withstanding
forbidding any scouting in the assault zones, minimizing combat patrols, and weaponry operations.
The German army utilized the terrain and disguises their techniques to take advantage of the total
preparation which made it difficult to detect German movements for the Americans. The logistical
result of the intense planning resulted in 29 infantry divisions, 12 armored divisions, 1,500 troop

At that time, nearly 60,000 men that were made up of mostly American troops held their position in
the Ardennes forest. The German objective was to break through the weakly held American position to
cross over the River Meuse to secure the allied supply lines in Antwerp and hold a new German
military line and fracture the alliance. The Germans needed bad weather to be successful and planned
on that bad weather. Hitler used basic weather prediction technology (weather forecast information)
created by German U boats in the Atlantic Ocean by using statistics, data, and weather conditions to
set the date for the attack onto Western front in the Ardennes region. Hitler s troop movements in the
dense forest were undetected and were a major intelligence failure for the US. This last offensive

King Tiger tanks, V1 and V2 rockets, jet airplanes, MP 44 riffle (light weight and easy to handle)

American riffle version was heavy and jammed easily. Limited access on travel within this dense
terrain for both troop equipment, 65 ton tank limited mobility, typical newest technology startup
problems, and young and inexperience troops created huge problems to

The Tactics Of The German Army
The strategy of the German Army was very simple. The Germans knew that the Soviets were making
their move into Berlin. The Germans had decided to bunker down and fight to the death for the city of
Berlin. The Germans had decided that it would take about two hundred thousand men to defend the
capital of Berlin. The two hundred thousand that were to guard Berlin was comprised of mostly
women, older men, and younger children. The German army was aware of the amount of Soviet forces
that were planning to attack Berlin, and built a strong defensive position in order to counter the Soviet
offensive. The Germans constructed trenches, barricades, and other protection measures to ensure
their stronghold in Berlin. This became the final preparations for the city and waited for the Soviets
advancement. The Soviets knew the key to success in large battles by using major firepower in order
to eliminate the enemy. Field Artillery was a key factor in this strategy by providing the massive
barrages into the city and taking down supply planes and closing supply routes. The Soviets planned
the attack about sixty miles out of Berlin and knew that the German troops were hurt and
undermanned so they used this to its advantage. The soviet forces strategically placed around Berlin
and gave orders to attack from the different positions. Soviet intelligence reported that they
outnumbered the Germans men, equipment, and aircraft. The Moltke Bridge was a vital landmark in
ensuring the defeat of the

animals because of moving also report behavior problems. Pet abandonment has been a very big
problem throughout the years. Pets have to be flown into another state to get to a shelter that is not

Essay On Mutation
Spontaneous mutations occur during a normal cell process creating genetic changes (text p.206).
There are varying types of spontaneous mutations including, silent, missense, nonsense, and
frameshift mutations. How are these mutations the same and how are they different? Silent, missense,
and nonsense mutations all occur when base substitutions happen (text p.206). A base substitution is
when the wrong nucleotide is incorporated during DNA synthesis, this is the most common mutation
(lecture). In a silent mutation a base substitution occurs, incorporating an incorrect nucleotide, the
result is a codon that codes for an amino acid that is the same as the wild type (text p. 206). In a
missense mutation, the resulting mutant codon does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These mutations are ones that often produce stop codons, putting a halt to the creation of the protein
with shortened amino acid sequences. They may also generate proteins that do not function. By simply
adding a single nucleotide you alter the coding outcomes of the remaining nucleotides down the
sequence. If one were to insert a sequence of three nucleotides, they would be inserting a complete
amino acid. Because of this, there is a higher likelihood that the sequence of three nucleotides would
simple produce a new amino acid, rather than a stop codon, unless it itself was a stop codon. This
creation of a new amino acid to the sequence would elongating the genetic sequence and continue to
produce a functioning protein while allowing the remaining gene sequence to remain the same.

Racial Diversity In TV Shows
Researchers have stated that if things were to change within the TV productions then maybe there
could be a change financially. There are many statistics that show that many shows and movies do not
seem to grow and researchers have stated that it could be because of the lack of diversity that many
people may get bothered by. However, the 25 movies with casts 21 to 30 percent Black/Latino/Asian
had by far the highest median global box office, at $160.1 million. The next highest median global box
office came from films with 11 to 20 percent Blacks/Latinos/Asians, at $75.5 million. The 88 films
with the least diverse casts had a median global box office of just $68.5 million (Lin). This shows that
if TV shows and movies were to change the racial diversity in their shows or movies that they could
possibly have a high positive effect instead of continuing not to grow. The research showed that with a
good amount of racial diversity there was a lot more money made than there was without so much
ethnicity. It was later shown in other statistics that there were more viewers who watched the show
when the diversity was more open up than when it was not. The highest rated broadcast dramas and
comedies, with a median household rating of 5.84, were shows with 41 to 50 percent
Black/Latino/Asian casts. Shows with casts 31 to 40 percent Black/Latino/Asian had a 5.02 median
household rating. Shows with the least diverse casts had a median household rating of 3.79 (Lin). This

Angel Isolation
Isolation from the world and other people can sometimes be good for people. For those that choose to
step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery.
However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a
completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor
Samsa in The Metamorphosis , their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The Very
Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be several months,
constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see him. He was a large
man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human contact. Although the
reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts, it is easy to imagine how
someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small chicken coop, and looked upon
as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also locked in a small space for several
months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his
family as a stranger. He became more and more isolated as the story went on both from his family and
his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor were both nonhuman and experienced several months of
isolations, they were very different. The angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large
wings. Gregor on the other hand was a human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were
no physical human characteristics to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other
characters in the stories also treated the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The
Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of
him. People wanted to see the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The
Metamorphosis , Gregor s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he
died. Another major difference between the two characters was that in the end of The Very Old Man
with Enormous Wings , the angel was freed from the coop, gained his strength

Similarities Between The Sun Also Rises And The Great Gatsby
The American Dream is something that we as a working class are encouraged to strive for because it is
viewed as the epitome of being successful. Our two novels, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway
and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, are both set during a time Gertrude Stein refers to as a
lost generation . Happening during WWI, the Roaring 20 s became infamous for its lavish lifestyles

The Bombing Of The Uss Cole
The USS Cole Attack We will never forget that 17 of our Sailor s died during a routine refueling stop
conducted by the USS Cole. The bombing of the USS Cole (DDG 67) and the subsequent
implementation of Anti Terrorism Force Protection measures are important to our Navy heritage
because it is a reminder that vigilance can avert future attacks. Whether in the maritime domain, or in
support of operations ashore, Senior Navy Leaders are a key player in ensuring that Anti Terrorism
measures are followed to protect yourself, Sailors under your command, and all Navy personnel. This
paper will cover the history of the bombing of the USS Cole (DDG 67), the evolution of Anti
Terrorism Force Protection and the effects upon current U.S. Navy operations. History On the
morning of October 12, 2000, during a routine refueling stop; the 505 foot USS Cole (DDG 67) was
crippled and nearly sunk when two men steered a small fishing boat towards the center of the ship,
where they detonated a small plastic explosive device in a suicide attack. According to reports, the
amount of C 4 used in the construction of the bomb was equivalent to 700 pounds of TNT (Ibarra,
2013). In the explosion s aftermath, 17 Sailors died and 37 crewmembers were wounded; and a $789
million ship was severely damaged in an act of asymmetrical warfare against the United States (Burns,
2000). In the days and weeks following the attack, the Congressional Research Service (Perl O

Women s Rights Of Women
Women can not drive, can not leave the house without male permission, and are only considered half a
witness;which is half of what a male is. Today they are not treated equally and never have been, they
are also being treated differently around the world. They need to be treated the same and equally as
men are. Females are capable of the same things men can do and should be allowed to. Many women
have protested in Women s Rights Movements and now some things are starting to change, but not all.

nothing was really changed until 1920, when millions of american women protested for their rights.
The History Channels states, On Election Day in 1920, millions of American women exercised their
right to vote for the first time. It took activists and reformers nearly 100 years to win that right, and the
campaign was not easy (The Fight). Women have been battling the hardship of trying to get the rights
they deserve, they have even been put in jail for protesting, yet on August 26, 1920 women finally got
the right they wanted most, women were allowed to vote that day and many will never forget it.

Interpersonal Communication Reflection
Upon receiving my special project, I took the opportunity to approach it as a new challenging task but
with the commitment to make it a learning and teaching opportunity for myself. The main objective
for this project was to enhance my knowledge and to adhere to what is one of my weaknesses, group
presentations. I was provided with the assignment of three post conferences to be completed by the
end of the semester. When delegating topics to present, I focused on the tentative schedule and
selected one disease to present in each post conference. My selection was based on utilizing the time I
had, as a benefit for both students and I to learn something that was involved in our curriculum. The

I wanted to take the opportunity to teach my classmates useful information for the following exam.
Through the development and presentation of this project, the student teacher will discuss the
differences in seizures, safety precautions and nursing interventions. Before initiating presentation, I
provided 4 NCLEX style questions for pre test and a handout. In the packet, information regarding
etiology, manifestations of the 6 types of seizures and nursing interventions where provided. At the
completion of the presentation classmates will know the different types of seizures, precautions during

presentation duration was of 15 minutes and additional time to complete the pre/post test. After
reviewing the post test results, I saw an increase scores of 50%. Reviewing scores, I feel pleased with
my presentation, with evidence that my classmates did learn the material by improving post test

tone of voice. The comments indeed reflected my weakness, during the presentation I do tend to get
quiet and hold back a lot. The more practice I get with presentations, I believe will help me grow

Who Is Theseus In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Analysis of the Character Theseus Love is a theme that is greatly explored throughout A Midsummer
Night s Dream, and is experienced in many different ways among the different characters. Focusing
on the character of Theseus, we see that his portrayal of love is very different to the rest of the lovers,
and we even question whether he is experiencing love at all. His character and views on love develop
drastically during the play, and I want to explore this progression in detail. Although he only appears
in the beginning and end of the play, Theseus is a key character with great power and influence. Being
the mythic leader of Athens, Theseus is the overall dispenser of justice throughout the play. When

At first he does not believe the lovers story about their time in the woods and dismisses Hippolyta s
concerns, saying I never may believe there antique fables, nor these fairy toys (5.1.2). He rejects the

Theseus logical mindset fits perfectly with the overall scene in Athens, which is a place of fact and
reality. During the play within a play in act 5, Theseus begins to recognize the need for imagination in
order to believe the ridiculous situations of the play. Earlier, Theseus did not yet understand the value
of imagination and dreaming, which we see when he compares the lunatic, the lover, and the poet.
Although they are three very different types of people, he states that all three are of imagination all
compact (5.1.8), meaning they all have a similarity: they are dreamers. Towards the end of the play of
Pyramus and Thisbe, we begin to see Theseus become more open to imagination, stating that it is
needed to make sense of the ridiculous plot of the play he is

What Doctors Feel, By Hochschild s A Managed Heart
From the top down, emotional labour is necessary in almost every profession. The way employees
interact with customers can directly and indirectly impact sales and the reputation of a company.
While it is very visible in lower class jobs like waitresses and cashiers, who interact with customers
directly every time they do their job, it is also necessary in higher positions in a corporation. People in
management positions are told they must treat employees with respect because happy employees can
increase productivity. In A Managed Heart, Hochschild focuses on mid class professions and how
workers participate in emotional labour. Ofri s book, What Doctors Feel, focuses on emotional work
in the high class medical industry. Hochschild s A Managed Heart highlights the dangers of emotional
management where Ofri s What Doctors Feel has a more positive outlook on the topic, however, both
authors would agree that expressing the proper emotion at the proper time despite some risk is
necessary in almost ever career. In The Managed Heart Hochschild focuses on emotional labour:
managing one s emotions in the work place because it is one s job to do so. While she touches on
some benefits of emotion management, her book focuses on the dangers of losing one s true self when
one s employer can control how one feels. Her main subjects are bill collectors and flight attendants,
both are expected to have extreme (and opposite) emotions on the job. The bill collector is supposed

Juxtaposition In Othello
From the very beginning of Shakespeare s Othello, Iago is held in very high regard within the
community in Venice. He is often called honest Iago by many people, including his superior, Othello.
There is a large juxtaposition between Iago s perceived character in the beginning of the play, and the
general feeling at the end of the play. There are two possible reasons that this man that many now
know to be one of the most infamous antagonists of all time, to be revered, loved, and trusted as a
most loyal friend. The first of these possibilities is that Iago had always been a manipulator, and he
had gone so far into his tricks that he had made everyone assume that he was a fundamentally
respectable human being. The second, and most truthful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the audience does not have much background knowledge of their marriage and their love
dynamic before the mid section of the play, Iago makes it known that he believes that she has been
unfaithful to him with none other than Othello. I hate the Moor, and it is thought abroad that twixt my
sheets He has done my office (I.iii.368 369). Iago believes this fallacy as truth because he does not
believe that anyone could stay faithful to him because he is not deserving of a tried and true love,
which is common among those suffering from low self esteem. Even though he and Othello had a very
strong bond after serving in the military together, Iago claims he hates the Moor, because he has
everything Iago ever wanted, including at least in his mind, his own wife.
A very common but damaging consequence of low self esteem is friendship jealousy. This term refers
to the sensation that one s closest friends should exclusively belong to them, and no one else should be

Marijuana is usually smoked through joints, which are hand rolled, but can be smoked out of a bong,
or pipe. The edible products are mostly made from weed butter and is then mixed with cookie dough,
brownie mix, or cake batter. So why do so many people think it is bad for us? That s because the THC
is what makes the Marijuana addictive . THC increases the level of dopamine, which is the pleasure
chemical, in the brain. Therefore, people who smoke a lot have a higher chance of becoming
dependant on the use of cannabis and then this dependency can turn into an addiction.
Possibility of addiction is only one of the disadvantages on Marijuana. There are short term and long

The Impact of Systems Theory and Diffusion of Innovation...
Systems theory versus diffusion of innovation theory: How both have impacted the field of healthcare
The foundational concept of systems theory is as old as Aristotle s statement that the whole is greater
than the sum of its parts. But when the biologist Ludwig Von Bertalanffy created the concept of
general systems theory (GST), he was reacting against a powerful contemporary emphasis within his
field which stressed reductionism rather than a holistic perspective. He fathered an organismic
approach to biology as a reaction to the vitalism reductionism arguments that were rampant in his day,
which focused upon components of organisms instead and the notion that living systems were innately
different than non living systems (Provost 2011). Von Bertalanffy instead stressed that all systems
shared similar properties, regardless of their nature. First and foremost, the components of every
system from a cell to a human being, to a society of human beings must be understood in consort, not
in isolation This signified a unity of the observed universe and hence of science (Provost 2011).
Systems are open, dynamic, and capable of change because they are in constant dialogue with the rest
of the environment. An open system that imports free energy or negative entropy from the outside can
legitimately proceed toward states of increasing heterogeneity and order, whether human and living
and/or nonhuman and conceptual and social (such as a business) (Provost 2011). This

James Paul Gee Literacy Discourse Analysis
Linguist James Paul Gee introduces the concept of literacy discourse by defining language as both
what an individual says and how they present it. Literary language an important factor to maintaining
academic discourse, because as Gee suggests this influences discourses being used correctly .
Furthermore Gee suggests that in order to follow the intended guidelines correct discourse must say or
write the right thing in the right way while playing the right social role. (pg.6) Indeed, within my
academic experience using discourse here at Wayne State University, I agree with Gees definition of
student s adaptation of behavioral roles set by the institution. For example, students at Wayne State are

For example, the language that I use at home is not an acceptable form of academic discourse.
Therefore Gee illustrates the importance of the correct use of secondary discourses as a whole,
because as Gee suggests the demands of socialized institutions that require discourse fluency in
exchange for allowed apprenticeship is essential to maintaining participatory roles. (pg.8)Essentially
these roles as Gee suggests, within secondary discourse establish the characteristics of dominant and
non dominant discourse. Gee explains that dominant discourse requires a level of mastery of which, at
a particular place and time, brings with it the potential acquisition of social goods (pg.8) Contrary to
dominant discourse, non dominant discourse entails the mastery of which often brings solidarity with
a particular social network. (pg.8) In addition to the importance of discourse clarification, mush fake
discourse is defined as pretending to be a native speaker of the discourse. Which is similar to my

is not within mastery level. In conclusion, although I consider myself to be a part of the student

The Causes And Effects Of Indirect Rule In Nigeria
Indirect rule is a system that was put into place by imperialist who did not have the manpower to rule
a country by force. It is an ingenious system that allowed countries to come into Africa and impose
their rules and influences over the natives without fully taking over. According to W. R. Cocker, Sir
Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was
to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered
the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did,
as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the
land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be
respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule
which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots
of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came
out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They
thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values. Religious
groups cut them off from making anymore scriptures. To which they referred to them as the
interpretation of which was their own monopoly. Another criticism that came from

Chemical Reaction Of Chemical Reactions
Chemical kinetics is the study of rates during chemical processes and the speed at which they occur
(Chm.Davidson, 2016). Chemical kinetics can be altered by the effect of various variables and the re
arrangement of atoms. An example of kinetic processes can be seen in many experiments such as the
Landolt Iodine Clock Reaction.
Clock reactions represent chemical reactions in which two colourless solutions are mixed together; at
first no reaction takes place but after a short period of time the solution can be seen to undergo a
change in colour. Within the Landolt iodine clock reaction Potassium Iodate and Sodium Bisulphite
react to yield iodine, which in return reacts with the starch molecules to form the blue solution (RSC,
2016). The process of this experiment can be explained through the following chemical reactions:
The iodine ions are produced, due to following reaction between iodate and bisulphite:
IO3− + 3 HSO3− → I− + 3 HSO4−
2. The iodate that is left in excess after the first reaction will oxidise with iodide formed to generate
iodine:
IO3− + 5 I− + 6 H+ → 3 I2 + 3 H2O
3. Instantaneously the iodine is reduced back to iodide by the bisulphite I2 + HSO3− + H2O → 2 I− +
HSO4− + 2 H+
Consequently the iodine will react with the starch to create the coloured solution; this will only occur
once the bisulphite is fully consumed (Unomaha, 2016). Throughout the course of these chemical
reactions, the rate at which the reaction occurs takes place

Comparing The Non-GMO Sample, Taq DNA Synthesis And
The components that were added to the PCR reaction is the template DNAs, which are the non GMO

were enveloped in the master mix, that consists of dNTPs, a buffer, primers, and Taq DNA

needed to elongate a DNA sequence. The buffer is important because it creates the correct pH and salt

cofactor for DNA polymerase. Taq DNA polymerase is vital because it is a heat stable enzyme derived

The function of the gel is so that the DNA strands can separate out. The electrophoresis process is
necessary because, due to DNA having a negative charge naturally it will be attracted to substances
that are positively charged, so by positioning the gel, with the DNA samples injected into its wells,
facing towards the positive end of the electrophoresis apparatus with the DNA samples on the opposite
end closest to the negative end, the DNA strands with gradually move down the gel and separate based
on their band size. Before separating the DNA strands can be accomplished, the gel must first be made
accordingly as well as the samples. In order to make the gel, agarose powder and a buffer must be
mixed and cooked together first. The buffer that was used in this experiment is the 1X TAE buffer.
Utilizing a buffer is important in making the gel for gel electrophoresis because gel electrophoresis
depends upon the effective maintenance of pH within the matrix (Magdeldin). Moreover, while
providing the correct pH conditions, it also has the correct salt conditions for DNA polymerase. Salt is

New York resident Angeles Barragan said that her daughter fell behind due to an incompetent teacher

case, Vergara v. California, a California judge ruled that the state s laws governing teacher tenure [are]
unconstitutional, saying they interfere with the state s obligation to provide every child with access to
a good education. (4). The court case brought forth compelling evidence as to why the tenure system
needs to be either eliminated completely, or radically changed. The evidence showed that the failure of
schools to weed out underperforming teachers led to the pairing of the grossly ineffective teachers
with the poor and minority students, who were already underperforming. (3) This has been deemed
unconstitutional because it violates students rights to the equality of education. Students in poor areas
are forced with some ineffective teachers who cannot be fired because of their tenure, leading to lower

Kaufmanns Falling Water
1. Provide an introductory paragraph detailing the design brief for the building and the needs of the
client.
Can you say, Wright challenged his apprentices, when your building is complete, that the landscape is
more beautiful than it was before? Perched above a mountain cataract on a rocky hillside deep in the
rugged forest of South western Pennsylvania, some 90 minutes from Pittsburgh, lies Fallingwater a
building where the landscape is more beautiful with it than without it.
Frank Lloyd Wright s clients, the Kaufmanns, had previously used the cabins and land of Bear Run as
a rural retreat, with the land also being open to their employees. However as the cabins deteriorated,
due to a lack of use during the Great Depression, the Kaufmanns ... Show more content on

How did the cantilevered concrete of Fallingwater relate to nature? Because of this at the nature and
concepts behind the building must be thought about in an abstract form. To understand the organic
architecture in Fallingwater the inherent character of the material must be looked at. For example once
the basic element of concrete, steel and brick are recognised their nature is recognisable because they
may not be seen in the surrounding environment of Fallingwater but they create a balance with the
modern world. For Wright s use of these materials is explained in his belief that form and function are
one by using this technology he enables Fallingwater to blend with its surrounding environment in the
fact that it is functional in its beauty just like nature. It is in Wright s use of this balance that sets
Fallingwater apart from architecture then and

Compare And Contrast Castro Vs Garrido
Ariel Castro vs Phillip Garrido What should be the punishment for abductors and rapist? In 2013 you
may remember the story called the Cleveland Kidnappings about 3 women found on May 6, 2013 that
were abducted between the years of 2002 2004 and raped. The man responsible for that is Ariel
Castro. The other man I ll be talking about is Phillip Garrido who abducted a woman named Jaycee
Dugard when she was 11 years old. She wasn t found for more than 18 years. The women abducted by
Ariel Castro were inspired that, one day they d be found too when they saw the story of Jaycee
Dugard being rescued on television. I ll be contrasting and comparing the personal backgrounds, past
crimes, and the current crimes of both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

make a call. The Family Dollar wasn t able to give her change Castro overheard her conversation and
said he knew where to go and that he d give her a ride. She accepted his offer because she knew his
daughter Emily during the ride she told him he was going the wrong way and he said he was going to
his house so she could get a puppy for her son. Earlier she had mentioned that her son loved puppies
and that his had recently passed away. They also had a conversation about his son Ariel Castro Jr
being an ex employee at Burger King and that she knew some of his other kids too. When they arrived
at his house he told her the puppies were upstairs as she was going upstairs she realized that this was a
mistake and she d be there forever because it was too silent. When she got into the room where he said
the puppies were he walked in and shut the door he said he wouldn t keep her there for long and that
he wouldn t harm her if she did what he said. Since she was 21 years old the police didn t conduct an
extensive investigation and her family didn t file one because they had assumed she ran away because
she couldn t handle the drama in her life. In 2003 the FBI took her off the America s Most Wanted list
because her family hadn t filed a missing person s report. During her captivity she became pregnant 5
times and he made he miscarry by punching her in the stomach and starving her. She has now changed

looking for software that can help your company run like a well oiled machine, then here are a few
tools to get you started.
1. SLACK
Slack is by far, one of the top communication tools out there. It s essentially a messaging app for
teams. Not only can you send messages, but you can also share work files, images, documents,
spreadsheets and PDFs. The app allows you to highlight important comments, and bookmark them, so
that you can conveniently reference them later on.
Slack easily syncs with other applications like Google Drive and Dropbox. Sometimes it s important
that chat conversations be positioned into their own channels. With Slack, you can do this and more.
Slack allows you to organize your chat into specific channels. You ll never have to worry about
relocating past chat notes ever again.
One major caveat for Slack is that is it not a project management tool. It is for communication only.
You also cannot set away messages or go idle, when you re inactive. So may prove to be

Au Bon Pain opened its first up scale fast food café in 1977. Since that time, Au Bon Pain has grown
at a successful pace within the quick food service industry. It presently has 230 company owned and
franchised restaurants in the US and Asia. Back in 1986, the management of the company recognized
that they were not performing as effectively and efficiently as they planned with over 11 years of
operating experience. Furthermore, Ron Shaich, Au Bon Pain s co founder, felt the company was in
the midst of a cycle of failure . Attracting and finding new employees was becoming difficult on the

They have the ability to take this ownership and make it their own. Many of the managers promoted to
this level of ownership will accept it willingly and find acceptable solutions for the issues that arise.
On the other hand, some will not be able to adjust quickly enough to the roles undertaken by the
changing circumstances they are placed in. They may not be able to fulfill the agility that arises within
the quick food industry. The demands brought before them may be too great. They are faced with the
challenge of reorganizing their thought process and further finding ways to enhance the environment
around them. They are at risk of losing their motivation and at the same time losing their sense of
direction. The Partner/Manager program also diminishes the value of open communication.
Communication is an essential ingredient in all relationships. By instituting the district managers roles
as coaches, rather than as policemen and they would supervise 8 to 10 stores rather than the traditional
3 or 4 , the program is deluding the vision of working together to succeed. The Partner/Managers are
missing a meaningful piece of the pie. The Partner/Managers are losing the experience and
information that the district managers possess and could share if a more inclusive relationship is
integrated. While doubling the responsibility of overseeing more stores, district managers lose contact
with the individual store

Abortion Ethical Case Study
Before researching on abortion issues, I never imagined it to be such controversial and debatable case
because the problem arises from the very early stages of analyzing what administrative ethics would
answer. I became overwhelmed to start because my mind became blurred on legality and ethics of
abortion as early as defining administrative ethics: well based standards of right and wrong
prescribing what public administrators ought to do in terms of duty to public service, principles,
virtues, and benefits to society . Ethics triangle is grounded on duties in the center with principles,
virtues, and benefits to society augmenting it. Duties of public administrator involves those
obligations taken on while assuming a position . They might ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Nowadays, religious believers oppose abortion on the ground of their scientific basis. Peter Singer
argued that ...from the first moments of its existence an embryo conceived from human sperm and
eggs is a human being. (Catholic Answers, 2015). Including pre delivery stage into existence of
human being implies that fetus is just one of the stage of human life and his/her development as like
childhood, adulthood, etc.). In that standing, fetus is not a mere body part of a woman on which she
has full freedom to cut off; therefore, abortion is a type of manslaughter, immoral, unethical, and
illegal. I find scientific basis incapable of helping to determine the case as its implication differs
across individuals ( some argue that a human being is capable of living independent existence which
excludes the unborn). Up to now, I did not find a persuasive argument to support my pre research view
as a proponent of abortion; therefore, I tried to find the core of this issue from a legal aspect by
analyzing the existent statutory laws. Azerbaijan Constitution does not specify this issue but simply
states that everyone has the right for life because defining that everyone is the essence of the debate.
Nevertheless, Constitution also gives rights from the moment when they are born ; therefore, right to
live may not include the unborn. Moreover,I found some hints

Essay Immorality in Chaucer s Canterbury Tales
Immorality and moral ambiguity are two concepts that will ruin any relationship. In Geoffrey Chaucer
s The Canterbury Tales, he specifically illustrates through his pilgrims stories some comical and
realistic events that display immorality in the Middle Ages. There are several characters whose stories
are focused on presenting the immorality within their tales. Like that of The Miller s Tale, and The
Merchant s Tale. Chaucer utilizes these tales to display one specific immoral act, which is sexual sin
or lust. Chaucer addresses the seven deadly sins in his novel; The Canterbury Tales, lust can be
highlighted in two major tales The Miller s Tale, and The Merchant s Tale which help display key
elements of the immorality in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Miller s Tale, and The Merchant s Tale the two young wives are deprived sexually because
their partners are so old and this causes them to be tempted outside of marriage. They believe this
could never happen though because both husbands, John and January, are so jealous and protective of
their wives that they do not allow leaving their sides. In Chaucer s The Miller s Tale the jealousy of
John shows, The carpenter had just married a girl whom he loved better than life. She was eighteen
years old. He was jealous and kept close watch upon her, for she was wild and young. While he was
old and thought himself likely to be cuckolded, (66 67). This shows an example of extreme jealous,
some of which is expected, because during the Middle Ages there were young men who would come
and seduce single and married women. It is described mostly as courtly love, and it is when a man is
chasing a woman for different reasons. The woman could be single or even married and if she said no
it would cause him great emotional and physical pain (Rogers: 1, 107). The young men might catch
themselves fantasizing over these unobtainable women.
Lust is the second element of medieval immorality that Chaucer addresses in The Miller s Tale, and
The Merchant s Tale. Lust is a common problem

performance appraisal with Rob Parson. After going through both the strength and weakness sated on
the feedback, I would give my own assessment to him and talk about his exceptional performance and
production. Next, I would ask Parson how he feels about his job situation and possibly suggest ways
in which he can change. In this area, I would like look more closely at his situation (those situation he
breaks the rule) .For example, Parson think that in the fast changing business world, it is difficult to
make a consensus with his co worker before he takes action. And I would determine what should be
the best action to take when face such situation. Then I would discuss the promotion with Rob Parson.
I would explain to Parson that he needs to possess certain management and leadership skills in order
to be eligible for that position. I would say that if he keeps up his production and creates goals to
improve these skills, then he will be able to get the promotion. I would make sure that my tone will
not to be too aggressive so that we don t lose him, but also not too weak in emphasizing the
organization s values and culture. The promotion can be used as a developmental goal for Rob Parson
to achieve if he is willing to set goals and develop his skills in the areas that need

NBC Nightly News Report
According to an NBC Nightly News report (2011) on a Monday afternoon of April 5, 2010 a massive
sound of underground explosions burst through the Upper Big Branch Mine located in southern West
Virginia killing twenty nine miners. This was reported to be one of the worst disasters in the United
States since 1970. Based on the information reported on the NBC Nightly News (2011), the owners of
Massey Energy along with the Health and Safety Administration fail the responsibility to ensure the
safety conditions of the mine workers. With the intentions to mislead inspectors, the mine owners of
Massey Energy and Upper Big Branch Mine deliberately kept two separate books on the safety
conditions of the company. In one of the books, the owners of Massey Energy Upper Big Branch Mine
reported that there were hazardous conditions in the company. However, the company kept this book
for themselves and another book was given to federal inspectors with misleading information stating
that there were no hazardous conditions within the coal mine. Therefore, the mine owners business
strategy was to keep the coal production running smoothly and avoid being investigated by inspectors.
The culture of the organization influenced the mine owner to keep the company records in two

Patients Claims Of Denial Of Services Essay Patients Claims of Denial of Services in Healthcare Facility The Office for Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Health Human Services enforces federal laws that prohibit discrimination by health care and human service providers. Both Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibit discrimination against qualified persons with HIV other disabilities. Section 504 prohibits discrimination by health care and human services providers called entities that receive federal funds or some other types of federal assistance. Title II prohibits discrimination by state and local government entities even if they do not receive federal financial assistance. Hospitals, clinics, drug treatment center, nursing homes are all entities covered by Section 504. The Americans with Disabilities Act also protects other persons, such as family friends, who are discriminated against because of their association with someone who has HIV. • 3. Essay about The Origins of the Cold War The Origins of the Cold War The Cold War was a state of extreme hostility and confrontation but without direct militant action between the two world powers, the USSR and the USA. The USSR and the USA were originally wartime Allies during the Second World War; however a string of events and issues caused a built up of suspicion and distrust which finally escalated to what was known as the Cold War. The start of Cold War can be simply defined as the period of time whereby both powers were simultaneously hostile to each other and the idea of peaceful cooperation could not exist anymore. Churchill s Iron Curtain Speech was a warning of Soviet influence beyond Eastern Europe. Churchill believed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Truman Doctrine was an open and direct confrontation of the Soviets. In it, the Soviets were accused of political oppression , suppression of personal freedoms and were even perceived as evil by the Americans. Under the Doctrine, the US policy was to support people who resisted attempted subjugation by outside pressure which meant the Soviets. The US felt the need to assist the free people against the spread of Communism and saw the Soviets as a threat and an enemy. This was the first concrete and coherent American foreign policy towards the USSR. There was no immediate official response from the Soviet government. However, a few months later, the Soviet Two Camps Speech emerged stating Soviet stand to American aggression. It stated officially that the USSR was anti democracy. Also the need to prevent Western powers desire to dominate the world was emphasized; therefore the policy of cooperation between the Socialist and Liberal parties would cease to exist. Communist parties in Western European countries were told to adopt a militant anti government stance. The USSR was no longer keen on peaceful cooperation and acknowledged the fact that the Americans and the Soviets could no longer be allies. This marked the start of the Cold War as the Truman Doctrine instigated and caused the end of any form of peaceful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Earned Income Tax Credit The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a federal program that provides low to moderate income workers, including many who are poor, with extra income through tax refunds. It also encourages low income parents to go to work by lowering their tax rate and providing a financial bonus for their work effort. Congress originally approved the tax credit in 1975 partly to help offset the burden of social security taxes for families and to provide an incentive to work. When the credit exceeds the amount of taxes owed, it results in a tax refund to those who claim and qualify for it. It s been especially effective in encouraging single parents, mainly single mothers, to obtain employment. In 2003 alone, this tax credit provided 22 million American families and their children, with $34 billion in cash assistance (Francis 2014). The credit has been expanded several times since its creation, and more than half of the U.S. states and the District of Columbia now have their own supplemental EITCs. There are four main qualifications needed to receive the credit. First, an individual must have a valid Social Security number. Second, an individual must earn income either from working for someone else or from owning or operating a business. Third, an individual must be a U.S. citizen or resident or the spouse of a U.S. citizen or resident for the entire tax year. Finally, earned income and adjusted gross income must both be below income limits that vary by the number of children in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Yeats s Interest in Rhythm The purpose of rhythm, it has always seemed to me, is to prolong the moment of contemplation, the moment when we are both awake and asleep, which is the one moment of creation, by hushing us with an alluring monotony, while it holds us waking by variety, to keep us in that state of perhaps real trance, in which the mind liberated from the pressure of the will is unfolded in symbols. (W.B. Yeats) What light does this comment of Yeats shed on his poetry? Feel free in your answer to concentrate on poetic devices other than rhythm if you prefer. Yeats interest in rhythm was deeply tied to the notion of the sound of the earth and nature, and our relationship with the elements. He also had a profound interest and belief in faery, and the ways in which one could transcend material reality in order to reach that world which ran alongside the natural world. Yet Yeats, who was born in 1865 and died in 1939, lived through an era of immense scientific discovery and change. He lived in a world where, by and large, to believe in faery was to be irrational, and the industrial hum of engines prevailed over the quieter sounds of nature. In his earlier poetry, he conveys a certain reverence towards the ancient rhythms of language and nature, flying in the face of the frenetically busy London life he experienced as a young man. The bewitching beauty of the landscape of Sligo, steeped in folklore, were the true rhythms which brought on the state of perhaps real trance , allowing him to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its semi forbidden access to Americans makes it a curious destination for adventitious people. The largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba has been inhabited since the mid 1400s by various Mesoamerican tribes, until 1492 when Christopher Columbus invaded the island and took it over. It remained a colony of Spain until the Spanish American war in 1898, and briefly became a colony of the United States. Spanish is a very phonetic language, meaning every letter represents one sound. (Brown and Patten) On the contrary, English is very irregular when it comes to spelling and pronunciation. For instance, look at the way the following words vary even though the sounds are similar Barry, berry and bury. Although the same sounds are being used, the words are completely different in definition and in context. Another difference is Spanish categorizes certain groups of words by masculine and feminine, as do most languages. (Brown and Patten) However, English has no gender restrictions besides pronouns. There are also differences in the sentence structure that both languages possess. Spanish verbs always agree with the subject, where in English, the verbs are based on if they are being used in the past, present or future. Finally, one other striking difference in the language is the vocabulary that is associated with each language. Spanish has a rich vocabulary, however they all derive from Latin or originated from a Spanish culture, making the language more pure. • 9. Benefits Of A New Team When I was in Noida working for Headstrong, my team used to go out for lunch on special occasions. As that area had quite many options, sometimes we used to be in a fix as to where to go. Another reason for long decision making was because different people had their own tastes. And, few of them had even been to places we were zeroing in on and didn t want to go again. Now, that was a mess as it would delay our outings that were supposed to become a lifetime memory for a few at least! We tried to plan well ahead in advance, but that also had issues as people wanted to delay it to the last minute. We primarily relied on word of mouth recommendations and what we as a team preferred the most. All in all, it used to go just fine most of the times. However, i remember one incident when one of our new team members strongly recommended a restaurant to which his family were regular visitors for many years. He was giving mouthwatering description of the dishes available there and most of us melted like butter on a parantha and were looking forward to go there. Come the D day, being a foodie, i was especially charged up; but there was one delay after another as few of the folks were held up in meetings. It was way past my usual lunch time and finally, we went ahead around quarter to 3. We were all very hungry but to our utter disappointment we found the place closed. The colleague who had recommended us looked pretty sad and asked nearby shops if the restaurant had closed for good. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Little is known about the historical emergence of human S. typhi infections, however it is thought to have caused the deaths of many famous figures such as British author and poet Rudyard Kipling, the inventor of the airplane, Wilbur Wright, and the Greek Empire s Alexander the Great. It also produces and excretes a protein known as invasin that allows non phagocytic cells to take up the bacterium, where it is able to live intracellularly. It is also able to inhibit the oxidative burst of leukocytes, making innate immune response ineffective. • 11. The Crusades Paper The Crusades were expeditions that originated in completion of a solemn vow in order to deliver the Holy areas from Mohammedan domination. The origin of the word can be traced to the cross. This meaningful cross was worn as a badge on the outer garment of those who took part in these enterprises and also made out of cloth. Since the Middle Ages, the meaning of the word crusade has been comprehended to contain all wars undertaken in the act or practice of pursuing a vow. It was also directed against infidels who were the Mohammedans, Pagans, Heretics, or those under the bar of excommunication. For example, by watching the movie, we hear that the characters lines are practically the same as to the characters lines in the play, this in fact is a very big similarity. The German army utilized the terrain and disguises their techniques to take advantage of the total preparation which made it difficult to detect German movements for the Americans. The German objective was to break through the weakly held American position to cross over the River Meuse to secure the allied supply lines in Antwerp and hold a new German military line and fracture the alliance. The Germans needed bad weather to be successful and planned on that bad weather. Hitler used basic weather prediction technology (weather forecast information) created by German U boats in the Atlantic Ocean by using statistics, data, and weather conditions to set the date for the attack onto Western front in the Ardennes region. Hitler s troop movements in the dense forest were undetected and were a major intelligence failure for the US. • 14. The Tactics Of The German Army The strategy of the German Army was very simple. The Germans knew that the Soviets were making their move into Berlin. The Germans had decided to bunker down and fight to the death for the city of Berlin. The Germans had decided that it would take about two hundred thousand men to defend the capital of Berlin. The two hundred thousand that were to guard Berlin was comprised of mostly women, older men, and younger children. The German army was aware of the amount of Soviet forces that were planning to attack Berlin, and built a strong defensive position in order to counter the Soviet offensive. The Germans constructed trenches, barricades, and other protection measures to ensure their stronghold in Berlin. This became the final preparations for the city and waited for the Soviets advancement. The Soviets knew the key to success in large battles by using major firepower in order to eliminate the enemy. Field Artillery was a key factor in this strategy by providing the massive barrages into the city and taking down supply planes and closing supply routes. The Soviets planned the attack about sixty miles out of Berlin and knew that the German troops were hurt and undermanned so they used this to its advantage. The soviet forces strategically placed around Berlin and gave orders to attack from the different positions. Soviet intelligence reported that they outnumbered the Germans men, equipment, and aircraft. The Moltke Bridge was a vital landmark in ensuring the defeat of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are varying types of spontaneous mutations including, silent, missense, nonsense, and frameshift mutations. How are these mutations the same and how are they different? Silent, missense, and nonsense mutations all occur when base substitutions happen (text p.206). A base substitution is when the wrong nucleotide is incorporated during DNA synthesis, this is the most common mutation (lecture). In a silent mutation a base substitution occurs, incorporating an incorrect nucleotide, the result is a codon that codes for an amino acid that is the same as the wild type (text p. 206). In a missense mutation, the resulting mutant codon does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These mutations are ones that often produce stop codons, putting a halt to the creation of the protein with shortened amino acid sequences. They may also generate proteins that do not function. By simply adding a single nucleotide you alter the coding outcomes of the remaining nucleotides down the sequence. If one were to insert a sequence of three nucleotides, they would be inserting a complete amino acid. Because of this, there is a higher likelihood that the sequence of three nucleotides would simple produce a new amino acid, rather than a stop codon, unless it itself was a stop codon. This creation of a new amino acid to the sequence would elongating the genetic sequence and continue to produce a functioning protein while allowing the remaining gene sequence to remain the same. Example 1.1: Insertion into a reading frame: Reading Frame 1: Wild Type AUG UUA UCA UAU AUC UAG Met Leu Ser Tyr Ile STOP The above frame demonstrates gene sequence with start and stop codons. Reading Frame 2: Single Insertion: AUG UUA UCA UAA UAU CUA G Met Leu Ser STOP Tyr Leu The above frame demonstrates gene sequence with the insertion of a single nucleotide, resulting in a stop codon. • 18. Racial Diversity In TV Shows Researchers have stated that if things were to change within the TV productions then maybe there could be a change financially. There are many statistics that show that many shows and movies do not seem to grow and researchers have stated that it could be because of the lack of diversity that many people may get bothered by. However, the 25 movies with casts 21 to 30 percent Black/Latino/Asian had by far the highest median global box office, at $160.1 million. The next highest median global box office came from films with 11 to 20 percent Blacks/Latinos/Asians, at $75.5 million. The 88 films with the least diverse casts had a median global box office of just $68.5 million (Lin). This shows that if TV shows and movies were to change the racial diversity in their shows or movies that they could possibly have a high positive effect instead of continuing not to grow. The research showed that with a good amount of racial diversity there was a lot more money made than there was without so much ethnicity. It was later shown in other statistics that there were more viewers who watched the show when the diversity was more open up than when it was not. The highest rated broadcast dramas and comedies, with a median household rating of 5.84, were shows with 41 to 50 percent Black/Latino/Asian casts. Shows with casts 31 to 40 percent Black/Latino/Asian had a 5.02 median household rating. Shows with the least diverse casts had a median household rating of 3.79 (Lin). This research shows ... For those that choose to step back and take a break from the world, isolation can be a time of growth and self discovery. However, if a person is forced into isolation, like Gregor Samsa and the angel were, it has a completely different effect. For the angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings and Gregor Samsa in The Metamorphosis , their isolation was physical as well as mental. The angel in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , was locked in a chicken coop for what seems to be several months, constantly being picked at and gawked at by townspeople who had paid to see him. He was a large man with enormous wings living in a tiny space with no meaningful human contact. Although the reader is not able to delve into the mind of the angel and see his thoughts, it is easy to imagine how someone would feel if they were in a strange place, locked in a small chicken coop, and looked upon as a sideshow. In the Metamorphosis , Gregor Samsa was also locked in a small space for several months. Although he was in a familiar place, after his transition to a bug, he was looked upon by his family as a stranger. He became more and more isolated as the story went on both from his family and his humanity. Although the angel and Gregor were both nonhuman and experienced several months of isolations, they were very different. The angel was described as an old scruffy man with very large wings. Gregor on the other hand was a human man that had completely turned into a bug. There were no physical human characteristics to Gregor once he had turned into a large cockroach. The other characters in the stories also treated the Gregor and the old man very differently. The people in The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , seemed to be a lot more fascinated by the angel than scared of him. People wanted to see the angel and came from all over and even paid money to do so. In The Metamorphosis , Gregor s family was terrified of him and kept him locked up in his room until he died. Another major difference between the two characters was that in the end of The Very Old Man with Enormous Wings , the angel was freed from the coop, gained his strength ... The way employees interact with customers can directly and indirectly impact sales and the reputation of a company. While it is very visible in lower class jobs like waitresses and cashiers, who interact with customers directly every time they do their job, it is also necessary in higher positions in a corporation. People in management positions are told they must treat employees with respect because happy employees can increase productivity. In A Managed Heart, Hochschild focuses on mid class professions and how workers participate in emotional labour. Ofri s book, What Doctors Feel, focuses on emotional work in the high class medical industry. Hochschild s A Managed Heart highlights the dangers of emotional management where Ofri s What Doctors Feel has a more positive outlook on the topic, however, both authors would agree that expressing the proper emotion at the proper time despite some risk is necessary in almost ever career. In The Managed Heart Hochschild focuses on emotional labour: managing one s emotions in the work place because it is one s job to do so. Systems theory versus diffusion of innovation theory: How both have impacted the field of healthcare The foundational concept of systems theory is as old as Aristotle s statement that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. But when the biologist Ludwig Von Bertalanffy created the concept of general systems theory (GST), he was reacting against a powerful contemporary emphasis within his field which stressed reductionism rather than a holistic perspective. He fathered an organismic approach to biology as a reaction to the vitalism reductionism arguments that were rampant in his day, which focused upon components of organisms instead and the notion that living systems were innately different than non living systems (Provost 2011). Von Bertalanffy instead stressed that all systems shared similar properties, regardless of their nature. First and foremost, the components of every system from a cell to a human being, to a society of human beings must be understood in consort, not in isolation This signified a unity of the observed universe and hence of science (Provost 2011). Systems are open, dynamic, and capable of change because they are in constant dialogue with the rest of the environment. Cocker, Sir Fredrick Lugard was given the position of High Commissioner in Northern Nigeria. His objective was to bring Nigeria under British rule. This was no easy task because the native population outnumbered the amount of men they could bring to enforce British rule and government. So what Sir Lugard did, as did many other imperialist, left most of the power in the hands of the natives. In Lugard s case, the land was under the control of the Fulani Emirate, which he found their administrative set up to be respectable. Not left with much of a choice, he left the Emirates in charge and set in place British rule which governed alongside side the natives. Thus indirect rule was brought to Africa. There were lots of criticism that came with indirect rule. They mainly came after Lugard s book, Dual Mandate, came out. Many of the men that were enlisted at the time became arrogant after this book came out. They thought they were makers of history. This being said they lost a lot of their old values. Religious groups cut them off from making anymore scriptures. To which they referred to them as the interpretation of which was their own monopoly. Another criticism that came from ... • 36. Chemical Reaction Of Chemical Reactions Chemical kinetics is the study of rates during chemical processes and the speed at which they occur (Chm.Davidson, 2016). Chemical kinetics can be altered by the effect of various variables and the re arrangement of atoms. An example of kinetic processes can be seen in many experiments such as the Landolt Iodine Clock Reaction. Clock reactions represent chemical reactions in which two colourless solutions are mixed together; at first no reaction takes place but after a short period of time the solution can be seen to undergo a change in colour. Within the Landolt iodine clock reaction Potassium Iodate and Sodium Bisulphite react to yield iodine, which in return reacts with the starch molecules to form the blue solution (RSC, 2016). The process of this experiment can be explained through the following chemical reactions: The iodine ions are produced, due to following reaction between iodate and bisulphite: IO3− + 3 HSO3− → I− + 3 HSO4− 2. The iodate that is left in excess after the first reaction will oxidise with iodide formed to generate iodine: IO3− + 5 I− + 6 H+ → 3 I2 + 3 H2O 3. Instantaneously the iodine is reduced back to iodide by the bisulphite I2 + HSO3− + H2O → 2 I− + HSO4− + 2 H+ Consequently the iodine will react with the starch to create the coloured solution; this will only occur once the bisulphite is fully consumed (Unomaha, 2016). Throughout the course of these chemical reactions, the rate at which the reaction occurs takes place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing The Non-GMO Sample, Taq DNA Synthesis And The components that were added to the PCR reaction is the template DNAs, which are the non GMO sample, the test food sample, and the GMO positive sample. The rest of the items that were added were enveloped in the master mix, that consists of dNTPs, a buffer, primers, and Taq DNA polymerase. The dNTPs are deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate which are basically the nucleotides needed to elongate a DNA sequence. The buffer is important because it creates the correct pH and salt condition for DNA polymerase and because it also harbors magnesium ions in it, which serve as a cofactor for DNA polymerase. Taq DNA polymerase is vital because it is a heat stable enzyme derived from the bacteria Thermus Aquaticus that is able to withstand the high temperatures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The function of the gel is so that the DNA strands can separate out. The electrophoresis process is necessary because, due to DNA having a negative charge naturally it will be attracted to substances that are positively charged, so by positioning the gel, with the DNA samples injected into its wells, facing towards the positive end of the electrophoresis apparatus with the DNA samples on the opposite end closest to the negative end, the DNA strands with gradually move down the gel and separate based on their band size. Before separating the DNA strands can be accomplished, the gel must first be made accordingly as well as the samples. In order to make the gel, agarose powder and a buffer must be mixed and cooked together first. The buffer that was used in this experiment is the 1X TAE buffer. Utilizing a buffer is important in making the gel for gel electrophoresis because gel electrophoresis depends upon the effective maintenance of pH within the matrix (Magdeldin). In 1910, New Jersey became the first state to pass tenure legislation for college professors, around the time when women s suffrage movements were gaining momentum across the country. Before tenure, female professors were fired for getting married or getting pregnant or even wearing pants such rights were later extended to elementary and high school teachers as well. (2). California, a California judge ruled that the state s laws governing teacher tenure [are] unconstitutional, saying they interfere with the state s obligation to provide every child with access to a good education. (4). The court case brought forth compelling evidence as to why the tenure system needs to be either eliminated completely, or radically changed. The evidence showed that the failure of schools to weed out underperforming teachers led to the pairing of the grossly ineffective teachers with the poor and minority students, who were already underperforming. (3) This has been deemed unconstitutional because it violates students rights to the equality of education. Students in poor areas are forced with some ineffective teachers who cannot be fired because of their tenure, leading to lower test scores and, on average, lower graduation rates. In another example, parents in New York are eagerly trying to send their students to Charter Schools, in an effort to avoid bad teachers that ultimately lead to their students performing significantly lower than they should be. That same article was used to inform Bobbette Lacks, Henrietta s daughter in law, that the immortal cells she had been reading about in the paper were Henrietta s. In 1976, Mike Rodgers published an article in Rolling Stone that informed the Lacks family that people were buying and selling Henrietta s cells. The family immediately accused Hopkins of withholding money from them. Lawrence, Henrietta s eldest son, was quoted saying, Hopkins say they gave them cells away, but they made millions!
