The Delegation is Here
Ms Loren stood in front of a single elevator illustrating an out of service sign. Ms Loren glanced at the
notice and questioned the Bellman, It s not working? as she pointed to the elevator. No, Ma am. It has
not operated in years. Parts are impossible to find. Everyone takes the stairs. Good exercise, retorted
the Bellman. Coach Russell walked in front of Ms Loren, and took the first step up to address the
students, Okay, everyone. Looks like we got some climbing to do. Thankfully, we re all on the third
floor. Coach Russell begun heading their up towards the guest rooms. Students, you heard Coach
Russell, Ms Loren addressed with a hint of spite saying Coach Russell. She had been with Minister
Mike longer than him, yet Coach Russell took control of most situations. Coach even blocked her
from the students view. This was not tolerable in her book. Ms Loren approached the stairs with vigor.
Ms Loren wanted a word with him away from the others. Giselle, Let s not delay the Ambassador, said
Minister Mike to his wife as Giselle stayed behind with Daniel at the front desk. Michael, I want to get
a list of the student s rooms, and Daniel wants to make sure the billing is in order, replied Giselle.
Okay. Just don t take all day, you two, Minister Mike proclaimed upon reaching the first step, as he
headed upwards with the majority of his students and chaperones ascending with him. Giselle heard

In Sherman Alexie’S The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-Time
In Sherman Alexie s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, the protagonist struggles
throughout the novel by having two different selves: Junior, the outcast from the Reservation and
Arnold, from the white high school at Reardan. As a result of being two opposites, Junior s behavior
and personality drastically changes, affecting both himself and others around him. Living in Wellpinit,
Arnold Spirit gets nicknamed Junior from his fellow Spokane Tribal members, is an outsider, and only
has one friend, Rowdy. Daily Junior gets beaten up and bullied, leaving him feel powerless and I
unacknowledged. However, Junior has a loving family to come home too. In contrast to going to
school at Reardan, Junior is referred to as his birth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When after meeting Penelope, and growing a liking towards her, Arnold mistakenly considered
thinking about and asking what he can do to change his image for her. Hey buddy, he do I make a
beautiful white girl fall in love with me? Well buddy, the first thing you do is change the way you
look, the way you talk, and the way you walk. And then she ll think you re her freaking Prince
Charming (Alexie). This quote shows how his desperation and cloud of judgement makes it difficult to
finding his true self, his identity. In reaction to leaving the Reservation, and going to Reardan High
School, left not only Junior s Spokane Tribe members, but his best friend betrayed. From here on,
people at the Reservation started calling Junior an apple , not supporting his decision for leaving. They
call me an apple because they think I m red on the outside and white in the inside (Alexie). This quote
shows how Junior s tribe members found his actions similar to a traitor and suggests he wants to
become more of a white person. Apple stands for having Indian as a race, but becoming white in the
mind. The Spokane tribe still accepts Junior to live in Wellpinit, hence they have not caused real harm
to him, but feel forward to make Junior become rewarded with hate and despair. Once Junior had told
Rowdy of his school choices, Rowdy did not take it lightly. I was the king of idiot that got punched in
the face by his best friend. Bang! Rowdy punched me. Bang! I hit the

The Elevator William Sleator
Of all the battles young Martin faces from William Sleator s The Elevator , a reader can grasp one of
the greatest and most important themes to fit this story. When Martin and his dad move into an
apartment, Martin is apprehensive about it because of the fact that the place is old and practically
falling apart. For one, Martin is afraid of elevators, and he has to use an old one everyday. To top it
off, he has to ride the old thing with a mysterious, creepy, fat lady. Once Martin s situation gets to the
point of being unbearable, he confronts his dad telling him about the creepy lady on the elevator.
Martin s dad is the exact opposite of how a father should be. Martin s dad insults him whenever he
looks to him for help. Also, Martin doesn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this fails to account for Martin s dad s and the lady on the elevator s actions because for one,
Martin s dad continuously, non stop insults his own son, making him feel like a disappointment. If one
was to be treated like that by their own father, one would also think that they would be hurt or affected
in some way. Martin is not acting irrational or making a big deal of his situation, if anything, he
reacted normally. Like I said before, in the story after Martin goes to his dad seeking for help, his dad
starts insulting him and calling him names, what does one think he should do at twelve when you look
to your father because you have no mother and all his dad does is insult him? Therefore Martin is
doing well in his situation because he tries not to cry as the story says, he only cries when his situation
is unbearable which is appropriate in this situation.
In conclusion, William Sleator uses many different craft moves to lead to the theme. Sleator uses
thoughtshots, foreshadowing, irony, and tension to lead readers to infer that the theme of the story is in
order to thrive in life, you cannot let other s judgement s change you or the way you think. Martin
learns the hard way because he allows his dad, bullies at school, and the lady on the elevator affect
him, and then ironically his worst fear becomes a

Abdominoplasty Essay Questions
What Patients Need to Know
A tummy tuck, also referred to as abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat and
skin in the abdominal area. Before asking Am I a good tummy tuck candidate, patients need to know
that a tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss. Diet and exercise should be used as a weight loss
aid prior to a tummy tuck. The ideal candidate for this surgery is someone at a healthy weight for his
or her age, height, and body type. Ideal candidates have loose, excessive skin in the lower abdominal
region. This skin could be the result of extreme weight loss, pregnancy, or aging. Patients approved for
a tummy tuck will have two incisions made: one in the lower abdomen and one around the navel. The
fat and skin are then separated from the abdominal muscles. The muscles are trimmed to give the
tummy a tighter look and stitched into place. The skin is re stretched over the muscles and any excess
skin is removed. The lower incision is stitched up, and the upper incision is closed after the navel has
been reattached in a natural looking position. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Satyricon Essay
The Satyricon, like many other works written in the time of early Ancient Rome, is a narrative whose
author is not known definitively. However, the best candidate from the time was Titus Petronius
(Arbiter). The story, looking especially from the scene Dinner with Trimalchio, is a satiric masterwork
of the pragmatic and materialistic attitude of the time, soon to be replaced by Christianity. Dinner with
Trimalchio tells a tale from the perspective of Encolpius, a vagabond student of the master
Agamemnon, who is invited along as a pupil of Agamemnon to a banquet. The host of the banquet is
Gaius Trimalchio, who was once a slave but now a freedman millionaire, who worked hard to attain
his power and wealthy status. Trimalchio is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Classical gender roles make the women behave as if they are second class citizens, being grateful to
be in the presence of a powerful male figure; where in actuality, Fortunata, Trimalchio s wife, sold her
jewelry to finance Trimalchio s first wine selling business, which is how he made his millions.
Without the help and generosity of Fortunata, Trimalchio would, himself, be a second class citizen
who struggles to pay for daily bread, like most of the poor lower class Romans.
Another way Petronius exemplifies his purpose of writing this story is showing the importance of
education in ancient Rome during the time, and how the culture valued it so much. Agamemnon, the
scholarly teacher and friend of Trimalchio, is very well respected by the populace of the story. There is
one passage in particular where Trimalchio tries to spark a conversation with Agamemnon about the
stores of Hercules and Ulysses wherein Trimalchio makes obvious to Agamemnon that he is not well
read in Homer s literature, yet pretends to be. Trimalchio questions, Do you remember the twelve
labours of Hercules and the story of Ulysses how the Cyclops tore out his thumb with a pair of
pincers. I used to read about them in Homer, when I was a boy. In fact I actually saw the Sibyl at
Cumae with my own eyes dangling in a bottle. This unintelligent miscue may not be noticed amongst
the banquets crowd of guests, but among the educated individuals familiar with

The Leader Of The Anabaptist Movement
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. This quote
from 1 Corinthians 3:11 appeared in many of his works and points to the Christ centeredness of his
theology (Machiel). This verse reflected on what he believed and the entire movement that he led
during his time. He made huge contributions to the Anabaptist movement and later became their
leader. Menno Simons lived from 1496 1559, during his life of 63 years he was a man of many
different things like being a priest, leader of the Anabaptists, a husband and a father. Very little is
unknown about Simon s childhood except for that he grew up in a very poor peasant environment with
his mother and father. His parents were most likely to have been dairy farmers (Machiel). He married
and had three children after he left the Roman Catholic Church. When he was training to become a
priest he learned Latin and some Greek and he never read the bible before or during his training
because he didn t want it to influence his Catholic beliefs. It is not exactly known where Simons may
have received his training but it was probably in a nearby monastery (Machiel). When he was finished
with his training he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1524 at Utrecht. For twelve years he
was a Roman Catholic priest and for the first seven years he severed as parish priest in his fathers
village of Pingjum and later for five years in Witmarsum where he was born. Later on in his life he

The Current Behavioral Organization Model As A...
GM is described as an organization with a dysfunctional company culture that somehow still manages
to have amazing results in its work, on a global scale. The key attributes of GM, were primarily in the
changes initiated by Mary Barra after the GM ignition switch recall crisis. Some of those attributes
include her willingness to openly acknowledge the undesirable aspects of the GM culture and her
efforts to take action towards a resolution. There are also several noticeable strengths and weaknesses
within the organization. One of the biggest weaknesses is the company s repeated inability to
acknowledge that, lack of functional culture and leadership are truly the root cause of the company s
issues. Based on my reading I would describe the current behavioral organizational model as a
Custodial Model. I chose this model because the managerial orientation is money, employee
orientation is security and benefits and performance results are passive cooperation. All of these
attributes were described in the reading.
Below are the four models that compare the current behavioral organizational model used above to
other models.
I. Autocratic Model
1. Depends on power.
2. Managerial orientation is authority.
3. Employee orientation is obedience.
4. Employee psychological result depends on the boss.
5. Employee needs met is subsistence.
6. Performance result is minimal.
Example: Military/ Soldiers.
II. Supportive Model
1. Depends on leadership.
2. Managerial orientation is

Descartes Philosophy
Descartes Philosophy Rene Descartes is a philosopher that lived during the Enlightenment period and
is famous for his philosophy of methodological doubt. His method of doubt was psychological in
character, involved a kind of rational insight, and implied a justified belief analysis of knowledge,
with justification construed in terms of being unshakable. (Newman) An important function of his
method was to enable people to redirect their attention from the senses to clear and distinct ideas
through intellect, reason, and doubt. Descartes understood knowledge as advancing truth. The
Enlightenment was an intellectual period that brought about ideas of God, reason, nature, and man. It
was a period of political and social upheaval that brought about revolutions and a period of learning to
think for oneself, employing and relying on the individual s capabilities to determine how to think and
act. (Bristow) Philosophy of that period caused tension with established religions. By using the
intellect to think and act, it required opposing the role of established religion by redirecting thoughts
and actions. It brought people to a higher human existence that was more fulfilled. Men became more
rational and developed goals of obtaining more knowledge, freedom, and happiness. With turmoil in
the empire, people became concerned for personal salvation, which also opposed the role of religion.
Established religion of those days taught that people should follow along without

Self Realization
The Impact of Self Realization
It is the losses in life that makes us who we are. Whether it be the loss of someone close to us or the
loss of our innocence, or former beliefs, or maybe the people we thought we were. Those losses are
our first steps into adulthood. After that life gets more complicated. But it s also filled with promise
and possibility of opening our hearts to new beginnings, dreams, experiences, and places.
The summer before senior year of high school, my family and I took a trip to the city that never
sleeps, NYC. My trip there was like discovering an entirely new way of life that I wasn t accustomed
to.
Manhattan is like a battered woman. Damaged, has seen better days, but still strong and beautiful.
This city is filled with artists, musicians, designers, performers, and writers who were distinctly
themselves and are celebrated for it. It s such a stark contrast to the world that I come from where
conformity is demanded and the light skin, curly haired girls rule.
The energy in New York City is unmatched, anywhere else in the world. The city is pulsating with life

Power Of Imagination In Frankenstein
English Extension 1 Writing Portfolio
Imagination and the emphasis on appreciation of nature are at the core of the Romantic Movement,
originating in the late 18th century. These intrinsically linked aspects of an individual determine their
ability to create and develop their connections with the natural world. This idea is prominent in John
Keats poem, Ode to Autumn, where nature symbolically represents a shift in creative views and
renewed perceptions. Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein also explores similar ideas, where nature
becomes a source of solace for Victor Frankenstein, as a result of his transgression of the natural
power of imagination. One s own desire to connecting and embrace the natural world is also seen in
Caspar David Friedrich s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both personas use imagination as a source of growth, Keat s persona following seasonal changes to
undergo creative growth, and Frankenstein using nature as a source of comfort and abandonment of
unnatural life. The subject of Friedrich s Woman before the Rising Sun presents a woman who is
becoming open to nature and connecting with it. This contrasts Frankenstein who abuses the power of
his imagination to create an unnatural life which he eventually rejects. In both Woman before the
Rising Sun and Ode to Autumn, nature represents the natural process of life. In a sense, all characters
eventually turn to nature either as a result of imagination. This is achieved through the different forms,
where Ode to Autumn uses the symbolism of seasons to convey the change in creative mindset
whereas in Frankenstein his change in attitude is explored through changes in tone and character of
Frankenstein. Woman before the Rising Sun also effectively achieves this through the use of media
and visual techniques, which also symbolically represent an open attitude to nature. Thus, it is evident
that all texts have explored effectively the main ideas of the Romantic Movement through the different
forms and

Traditional And Complementary Medicine
INTRODUCTION
Across the world, traditional medicine (TM) is either the mainstay of health care delivery or serves as
a complement to it. In some countries, traditional medicine or non conventional medicine may be
termed complementary medicine (CM).(WHO, 2015)
Traditional and Complementary Medicine is an important and often underestimated part of health
care. It is found in almost every country in the world and the demand for its services is increasing as
days goes by. Traditional medicines of proven quality, safety, and efficacy, contribute to the goal of
ensuring that all people have access to care.
Many countries now recognize the need to develop a cohesive and integrative approach to health care

African continents. The following are some of the most prominent countries of origin.
India
In India, ayuverda, sidha and unani systems of medicine have been used for centuries. These three
forms of medicine have co existed together with yoga, neuropathy and homeopathy. These are widely
used, especially in rural areas where 70% of the Indian population lives. There are 2860 hospitals,
with a total of 45 720 beds, providing traditional Indian systems of medicine and homeopathy in India.
The traditional medicines practiced in India are all recognized by the government of India under the

Dahal s Proposal To Amend The Constitution
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is rushing blindfolded to a precipice with his proposal to amend
the constitution. If he does not listen to the calls to open his eyes before it is too late, he will fall off,
taking the country with him. That is scary.
Dahal s blindness to the apparent facts is baffling. He needs 396 votes out of 595 in the parliament to
approve his proposal, which he does not have, even if all his coalition partners stick with him.
Here is the math. The UML and other parties which have 200 members are openly opposing the
amendment. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party, a coalition partner with 27 members, has made it clear that
it would not support the amendment.
Besides, the Madheshi parties, with around 18 seats, have said they would support the amendment
only with further concessions, without mentioning what.
It gets even more complex. Some leaders of Dahal s own party have openly opposed the amendment
in full or part. The Nepali Congress Party, the largest coalition partner, has the same problem.
A five year old child can see this simple math, but Dahal does not see or care.
Why? Enter India. Dahal has been pushing the amendment to appease India, rather than satisfy the
Madheshi parties. Indian leaders want the amendment and the Indian ambassador in Kathmandu had
overtly lobbied the Nepali leaders to deliver it.
What is India s motivation? India has been providing development assistance to win the hearts of the
Nepali people in virtually all

Hemostasis Essay
Hemostasis is the stoppage of blood flow. In order to do this our body s rely on an adequate amount of
platelets, normal levels of coagulation factors, and absence of defects in vessels walls (Huether and
McCance 540).
In platelet disorders both quantitative and qualitative factors can interrupt normal blood coagulation
which prevent hemostasis (Huether and McCance 541). Quantitative abnormalities in a platelet
disorder would be an increase or decrease in the number of platelets disorders that are involved with
this issue are thrombocythemia and thrombocytopenia (Huether and McCance 540).
Thrombocythemia is an increase in the number of platelets and thrombocytopenia is a decrease in the

Qualitative or quantitative abnormalities interfere with or prevent enzymatic reactions that transform

Some defects are caused by a single factor, these would be hemophilias and von Willebrand disease
and some are acquired and result from deficient synthesis of clotting factors by the liver which is
caused by liver disease and vitamin K deficiency (Huether and McCance 544). Other abnormalities in
coagulation disorders are caused by pathologic conditions such as a cardiovascular abnormality that
alters blood flow. An example of this is thromboembolic disease where blood clots block vessels

Being a part of the armed forces is one of the most courageous, respectful deeds one could do for their
beloved country. Through immense sacrifice, individuals basically sell their souls away to the military.
They are subject to countless hours of brutal training and exposed to living conditions many people
could not compare too. Members of the armed forces are often seen as discipline, respectful, and

led to their surrender. Though this win was a giant success for the allied forces, tension only rose
nearly a decade later with the second Gulf War starting in 2003. The Iraq War, also known as the
Second Persian Gulf War or Gulf War 2, started in March 2003 with the combined invasion of Iraq by
the United States and Great Britain. President George Bush urged the invasion of Iraq for two reasons.
First, the vulnerability of the United States following the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Secondly, the belief in Iraq producing weapons of mass destruction and their support for terrorist
groups in the region. In the early stages of the invasion, Iraqi troops did not stand a chance against the
invading countries. Iraqi military forces were forced to flee or surrender which allowed for a relatively
easy takeover of the country. With his county being completely dominated by allied forces, Iraqi
leader Saddam Hussein went into hiding. He was later found in December 2003, and was turned over
to country officials. After being convicted of crimes against humanity, he was executed in 2006. With

Looking At The Angel Capital Group
Angel investors are another way to start a business, like banks and venture capitalists. It is their job to
invest, they just have different evaluations to make an investment worth their attention. Looking at the
Angel Capital Group will expose the evaluations they use, and give ideas weather or not an angel
investor is right for the business one seeks to have funded (Angel Capital Group, 2015).
Understanding their proximity, value, experience and other factors will help define what the angel
investor is all about (Bell, 2007). Putting other factual information together along with what the angel
is and what they are looking for will give a picture of what the possibilities are for this type of
endeavor. Where is the angel investor and where is the business? The angel wants to feel close to the
business, at least, if not be right next door so they can check in easily (Bell, 2007). Just like mom can
be a pain because she knows so much about her baby, the angel wants to make sure you are healthy
and on a righteous path. They are here to help the business grow and become all it can be, and have an
interest in giving the entrepreneur help to do just that (Angel Capital Group, 2015). They can help
with contacts, advertising, legal aspects, and many other things that might be harder to get at all by
oneself. Why trust an angel investor, and what can they bring to the dinner table? The top three people
at Angel Capital Group have a combined history of 20 years plus directly

When were the modern sneakers introduced? It seems like they ve been around forever! This is
actually true! As stated in paragraph one of The History of Sneakers; the Maya, Olmecs, And Aztecs

unlike other big name colleges such as Harvard and Stanford who offers online classes for its purpose

colleges in their admissions processes, graduation rates, lower prices, and the way they address quality

Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets From The...
Throughout Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese, the speaker expresses her
thoughts on love. Despite the myriad of ways that the speaker chooses to express her understanding of
love, it is comprised of qualities existing outside of the world s inherently corrupt nature. The speaker
in Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese views the world and her desires
through the self sacrificing and pure nature of love and values it above physical beauty and simple
societal endearment.
The speaker s perspective on the world and love are intertwined. When looking at the world, she sees
the earth as a proponent of love, aiding in the battle to defeat all that desires to harm love. In Sonnet
XXII, the speaker ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This perspective shapes her course of action and results in her seeking a life of love on earth rather
than pinning for heavenly wonders that are not a part of her current world.
The speaker not only understand the role of love in the world, but also understands the nature of love
to be self sacrificing and pure. She openly rejects a love founded outside of love and requests that love
be primarily for the sake of love itself. This idea is expressed in detail in Sonnet XIV. Many people
desire for love to be defined by aspects regarding their character or a part of who they are on the
inside. However, the speaker rejects this idea and desires for something deeper in her own
relationships and love life. The speaker requests that she not be loved by her appearance and also not
by her internal qualities. Ultimately, the speaker understands the brevity of one s appearance and even
personality as she addresses her lover to say for these things in themselves, Behold, may, Be changed
or change for thee (95). The beauty that a couple holds dear or even the intellect that a person admires
can evolve into a new being over time and will leave the person who originally embarked on that
relationship disappointed because the reason they felt love has changed or dissolved. However, the
speaker s solution to this dilemma is to love only except for love s sake only (95). By loving for the
purpose of love itself, a

Explain The Duty Of Care Within The Law Of Negligence
The law of negligence covers a broad spectrum, with negligence being defined to apply in any
situation where a defendant has breached a duty of care owed to a claimant . This essay will seek to
look into the different areas within the law of negligence, to assess Lord Toulson s assertion in
Micheal v Chief Constable of South Wales (2015) . There will be a primary focus on his notion of
incremental growth , argument by analogy , and the necessity of policy considerations , with particular
regard taken towards the mixture of policy considerations, in an effort to determine whether some
areas, such as social costs, are weighed more heavily than others. Due to the wide breath and material
covered under the law of negligence, this essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the Ann s test similarly reflects this notion of limiting potential claims by specifying a
sufficient relationship of proximity based upon foreseeability between claimants and taking
considerations on policies which could negate a duty of care. This explicit acknowledgement of policy
considerations illustrates how the courts are keen to prevent the floodgates opening, as a large volume
of new claims could swamp the court s resources. However, in particular to the Anns test, the
incremental growth of law and the implementation of the Caparo test didn t emerge from a lack of
policy consideration, but rather from no recognition of previous policy, as it was not necessary to
bring the facts of that situation within those of previous situation where a duty of care had been held to
exist within the Anns test. This draws parallels with Lord Toulson s idea of an argument by analogy
for extending liability . The fact that there was no homage paid to previous case law in determining a
duty of care may contribute to the necessity of implementing the 3 stage Caparo test , as it is necessary
for courts to be consistent in their rulings so that people know where they stand under the law. This
notion is supported by the

Essay on Using Fear to Control the Masses
Fear is an emotion brought on by danger, evil, or pain. Sometimes the threat is real and sometimes it
can be imagined. A person who is walking through a dark alley in the middle of the night may
experience fear because they do not know whether or not it is safe to continue on. The fear of the
unknown is also expressed in 1984, The Lottery, and Harrison Bergeron. The government in 1984 uses
fear to control the masses. They set strict rules but leave a level of life completely unknown. The Party
uses the people s easygoing, trusting personalities to their advantages. In Shirley Jackson s The
Lottery, the government holds an annual meeting where names are drawn and someone is toned to
death. Not knowing through the whole process who will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The people however are already scared of the Party and become even more fearful around a
telescreen. If they do anything wrong, there is a chance that the government will come in the night and
take them away to be vaporized. A similar thing occurs in Shirley Jackson s The Lottery. Tessie
Hutchinson, a woman of the small town, is chosen in the lottery. The lottery is an annual event that
occurs to take one person and stone them to death to keep the population to a minimum. Jackson
illustrates Tessi s final scene: Tessie Hutchinson was in the center of a cleared space by now, and she
held her hands out desperately as the villagers moved in on her (Jackson 7). Being put in this kind of
position, the government was able to control Tessie because of her fear. At that point, Tessie would be
willing to do anything to save her life but the rules of the government force her to be stoned. Both
Orwell and Jackson used the fear of the unknown as a solid point in their government structures much
like Kurt Vonnegut did. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery, and Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron,
people are stoned and handicapped to fill the people with fear of the government. Shirley Jackson
created a government in which people were afraid of the final choosing. In the annual lottery a single
person was chosen to be stoned to death by their fellow neighbors. Tessie Hutchinson speaks out near
the end of the drawing and almost whispers, I think we ought to start over,

The Importance Of Mandatory Spending In The United States
Imagine this. You re sitting at your dining table with your dog chewing on the fabric of the chair your
grandma gave to you when you left for college because you don t have enough money to buy him a

guy some food and feed yourself as well. It turns out that this weeks check will be more than enough.
You go to work the next day and on your way home you receive an email saying that your check has
just been deposited into your bank account. You go to look at your bank account and you see that got
paid way less than you thought it would be. You freak out and call your boss and tell her that you didn

Mandatory spending is the portion of money that goes mostly to health care and social security. In
2015, the total Mandatory spending was $2.45 which almost 49% ($1.25 trillion) of it went to social
security, 38%($985.7 billion) went to Medicare Health, 5%($122.6 billion) went to Food Agriculture,
4%($95.3 billion) went to Veterans Benefits, 2%($58.7 billion) went to Transportation, and 2%($58.2
billion) went to others. Interest on debt is the interest payments that the government makes to collect
money for the debt the we are in. In 2015, 65% of taxes went to Mandatory Spending, 29% went to
Discretionary Spending, and 6% went to Interest on Debt. Now that we have numbers stated and many
facts to back up my rant about tax and how it is divided. No for every dollar, they give science 1.1¢
and Environment Energy 1.6¢ while giving the pentagon 25.4¢. The government is caring more about
the military than about the environment and science. If you really think about it, maybe they think that
war will help global warming. Later in the future we will have to war in order to figure out a way of

Ms Loren glanced at the notice and questioned the Bellman, It s not working? as she pointed to the elevator. No, Ma am. It has not operated in years. Parts are impossible to find. Everyone takes the stairs. Good exercise, retorted the Bellman. Coach Russell walked in front of Ms Loren, and took the first step up to address the students, Okay, everyone. Looks like we got some climbing to do. Thankfully, we re all on the third floor. Coach Russell begun heading their up towards the guest rooms. Students, you heard Coach Russell, Ms Loren addressed with a hint of spite saying Coach Russell. She had been with Minister Mike longer than him, yet Coach Russell took control of most situations. Coach even blocked her from the students view. This was not tolerable in her book. Ms Loren approached the stairs with vigor. Ms Loren wanted a word with him away from the others. Giselle, Let s not delay the Ambassador, said Minister Mike to his wife as Giselle stayed behind with Daniel at the front desk. Michael, I want to get a list of the student s rooms, and Daniel wants to make sure the billing is in order, replied Giselle. Okay. In Sherman Alexie’S The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-Time In Sherman Alexie s The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, the protagonist struggles throughout the novel by having two different selves: Junior, the outcast from the Reservation and Arnold, from the white high school at Reardan. As a result of being two opposites, Junior s behavior and personality drastically changes, affecting both himself and others around him. Living in Wellpinit, Arnold Spirit gets nicknamed Junior from his fellow Spokane Tribal members, is an outsider, and only has one friend, Rowdy. When after meeting Penelope, and growing a liking towards her, Arnold mistakenly considered thinking about and asking what he can do to change his image for her. Hey buddy, he do I make a beautiful white girl fall in love with me? Well buddy, the first thing you do is change the way you look, the way you talk, and the way you walk. And then she ll think you re her freaking Prince Charming (Alexie). This quote shows how his desperation and cloud of judgement makes it difficult to finding his true self, his identity. In reaction to leaving the Reservation, and going to Reardan High School, left not only Junior s Spokane Tribe members, but his best friend betrayed. From here on, people at the Reservation started calling Junior an apple , not supporting his decision for leaving. They call me an apple because they think I m red on the outside and white in the inside (Alexie). This quote shows how Junior s tribe members found his actions similar to a traitor and suggests he wants to become more of a white person. Apple stands for having Indian as a race, but becoming white in the mind. The Spokane tribe still accepts Junior to live in Wellpinit, hence they have not caused real harm to him, but feel forward to make Junior become rewarded with hate and despair. Once Junior had told Rowdy of his school choices, Rowdy did not take it lightly. I was the king of idiot that got punched in the face by his best friend. Bang! Rowdy punched me. Bang! I hit the ... • 6. The Elevator William Sleator Of all the battles young Martin faces from William Sleator s The Elevator , a reader can grasp one of the greatest and most important themes to fit this story. When Martin and his dad move into an apartment, Martin is apprehensive about it because of the fact that the place is old and practically falling apart. For one, Martin is afraid of elevators, and he has to use an old one everyday. To top it off, he has to ride the old thing with a mysterious, creepy, fat lady. Once Martin s situation gets to the point of being unbearable, he confronts his dad telling him about the creepy lady on the elevator. Martin s dad is the exact opposite of how a father should be. Martin s dad insults him whenever he looks to him for help. Also, Martin doesn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this fails to account for Martin s dad s and the lady on the elevator s actions because for one, Martin s dad continuously, non stop insults his own son, making him feel like a disappointment. If one was to be treated like that by their own father, one would also think that they would be hurt or affected in some way. Martin is not acting irrational or making a big deal of his situation, if anything, he reacted normally. Like I said before, in the story after Martin goes to his dad seeking for help, his dad starts insulting him and calling him names, what does one think he should do at twelve when you look to your father because you have no mother and all his dad does is insult him? Therefore Martin is doing well in his situation because he tries not to cry as the story says, he only cries when his situation is unbearable which is appropriate in this situation. In conclusion, William Sleator uses many different craft moves to lead to the theme. Sleator uses thoughtshots, foreshadowing, irony, and tension to lead readers to infer that the theme of the story is in order to thrive in life, you cannot let other s judgement s change you or the way you think. Martin learns the hard way because he allows his dad, bullies at school, and the lady on the elevator affect him, and then ironically his worst fear becomes a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before asking Am I a good tummy tuck candidate, patients need to know that a tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss. Diet and exercise should be used as a weight loss aid prior to a tummy tuck. The ideal candidate for this surgery is someone at a healthy weight for his or her age, height, and body type. Ideal candidates have loose, excessive skin in the lower abdominal region. This skin could be the result of extreme weight loss, pregnancy, or aging. Patients approved for a tummy tuck will have two incisions made: one in the lower abdomen and one around the navel. The fat and skin are then separated from the abdominal muscles. • 8. Satyricon Essay The Satyricon, like many other works written in the time of early Ancient Rome, is a narrative whose author is not known definitively. However, the best candidate from the time was Titus Petronius (Arbiter). The story, looking especially from the scene Dinner with Trimalchio, is a satiric masterwork of the pragmatic and materialistic attitude of the time, soon to be replaced by Christianity. Dinner with Trimalchio tells a tale from the perspective of Encolpius, a vagabond student of the master Agamemnon, who is invited along as a pupil of Agamemnon to a banquet. The host of the banquet is Gaius Trimalchio, who was once a slave but now a freedman millionaire, who worked hard to attain his power and wealthy status. Trimalchio is known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Classical gender roles make the women behave as if they are second class citizens, being grateful to be in the presence of a powerful male figure; where in actuality, Fortunata, Trimalchio s wife, sold her jewelry to finance Trimalchio s first wine selling business, which is how he made his millions. Without the help and generosity of Fortunata, Trimalchio would, himself, be a second class citizen who struggles to pay for daily bread, like most of the poor lower class Romans. Another way Petronius exemplifies his purpose of writing this story is showing the importance of education in ancient Rome during the time, and how the culture valued it so much. Agamemnon, the scholarly teacher and friend of Trimalchio, is very well respected by the populace of the story. There is one passage in particular where Trimalchio tries to spark a conversation with Agamemnon about the stores of Hercules and Ulysses wherein Trimalchio makes obvious to Agamemnon that he is not well read in Homer s literature, yet pretends to be. Trimalchio questions, Do you remember the twelve labours of Hercules and the story of Ulysses how the Cyclops tore out his thumb with a pair of pincers. I used to read about them in Homer, when I was a boy. In fact I actually saw the Sibyl at Cumae with my own eyes dangling in a bottle. • 9. The Leader Of The Anabaptist Movement For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. This quote from 1 Corinthians 3:11 appeared in many of his works and points to the Christ centeredness of his theology (Machiel). This verse reflected on what he believed and the entire movement that he led during his time. He made huge contributions to the Anabaptist movement and later became their leader. Menno Simons lived from 1496 1559, during his life of 63 years he was a man of many different things like being a priest, leader of the Anabaptists, a husband and a father. Very little is unknown about Simon s childhood except for that he grew up in a very poor peasant environment with his mother and father. His parents were most likely to have been dairy farmers (Machiel). He married and had three children after he left the Roman Catholic Church. When he was training to become a priest he learned Latin and some Greek and he never read the bible before or during his training because he didn t want it to influence his Catholic beliefs. It is not exactly known where Simons may have received his training but it was probably in a nearby monastery (Machiel). When he was finished with his training he was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in 1524 at Utrecht. For twelve years he was a Roman Catholic priest and for the first seven years he severed as parish priest in his fathers village of Pingjum and later for five years in Witmarsum where he was born. • 12. The Current Behavioral Organization Model As A... GM is described as an organization with a dysfunctional company culture that somehow still manages to have amazing results in its work, on a global scale. The key attributes of GM, were primarily in the changes initiated by Mary Barra after the GM ignition switch recall crisis. Some of those attributes include her willingness to openly acknowledge the undesirable aspects of the GM culture and her efforts to take action towards a resolution. There are also several noticeable strengths and weaknesses within the organization. One of the biggest weaknesses is the company s repeated inability to acknowledge that, lack of functional culture and leadership are truly the root cause of the company s issues. Based on my reading I would describe the current behavioral organizational model as a Custodial Model. I chose this model because the managerial orientation is money, employee orientation is security and benefits and performance results are passive cooperation. All of these attributes were described in the reading. Below are the four models that compare the current behavioral organizational model used above to other models. I. Autocratic Model 1. Depends on power. 2. Managerial orientation is authority. 3. Employee orientation is obedience. 4. Employee psychological result depends on the boss. 5. Employee needs met is subsistence. 6. Performance result is minimal. Example: Military/ Soldiers. II. Supportive Model 1. Depends on leadership. 2. Managerial orientation is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Descartes Philosophy Descartes Philosophy Rene Descartes is a philosopher that lived during the Enlightenment period and is famous for his philosophy of methodological doubt. His method of doubt was psychological in character, involved a kind of rational insight, and implied a justified belief analysis of knowledge, with justification construed in terms of being unshakable. (Newman) An important function of his method was to enable people to redirect their attention from the senses to clear and distinct ideas through intellect, reason, and doubt. Descartes understood knowledge as advancing truth. The Enlightenment was an intellectual period that brought about ideas of God, reason, nature, and man. It was a period of political and social upheaval that brought about revolutions and a period of learning to think for oneself, employing and relying on the individual s capabilities to determine how to think and act. (Bristow) Philosophy of that period caused tension with established religions. By using the intellect to think and act, it required opposing the role of established religion by redirecting thoughts and actions. It brought people to a higher human existence that was more fulfilled. Men became more rational and developed goals of obtaining more knowledge, freedom, and happiness. With turmoil in the empire, people became concerned for personal salvation, which also opposed the role of religion. • 14. Self Realization The Impact of Self Realization It is the losses in life that makes us who we are. Whether it be the loss of someone close to us or the loss of our innocence, or former beliefs, or maybe the people we thought we were. Those losses are our first steps into adulthood. After that life gets more complicated. But it s also filled with promise and possibility of opening our hearts to new beginnings, dreams, experiences, and places. The summer before senior year of high school, my family and I took a trip to the city that never sleeps, NYC. My trip there was like discovering an entirely new way of life that I wasn t accustomed to. Manhattan is like a battered woman. Damaged, has seen better days, but still strong and beautiful. • 15. Power Of Imagination In Frankenstein English Extension 1 Writing Portfolio Imagination and the emphasis on appreciation of nature are at the core of the Romantic Movement, originating in the late 18th century. These intrinsically linked aspects of an individual determine their ability to create and develop their connections with the natural world. This idea is prominent in John Keats poem, Ode to Autumn, where nature symbolically represents a shift in creative views and renewed perceptions. Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein also explores similar ideas, where nature becomes a source of solace for Victor Frankenstein, as a result of his transgression of the natural power of imagination. One s own desire to connecting and embrace the natural world is also seen in Caspar David Friedrich s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both personas use imagination as a source of growth, Keat s persona following seasonal changes to undergo creative growth, and Frankenstein using nature as a source of comfort and abandonment of unnatural life. The subject of Friedrich s Woman before the Rising Sun presents a woman who is becoming open to nature and connecting with it. This contrasts Frankenstein who abuses the power of his imagination to create an unnatural life which he eventually rejects. In both Woman before the Rising Sun and Ode to Autumn, nature represents the natural process of life. In a sense, all characters eventually turn to nature either as a result of imagination. This is achieved through the different forms, where Ode to Autumn uses the symbolism of seasons to convey the change in creative mindset whereas in Frankenstein his change in attitude is explored through changes in tone and character of Frankenstein. Woman before the Rising Sun also effectively achieves this through the use of media and visual techniques, which also symbolically represent an open attitude to nature. He needs 396 votes out of 595 in the parliament to approve his proposal, which he does not have, even if all his coalition partners stick with him. Here is the math. The speaker not only understand the role of love in the world, but also understands the nature of love to be self sacrificing and pure. She openly rejects a love founded outside of love and requests that love be primarily for the sake of love itself. This idea is expressed in detail in Sonnet XIV. Many people desire for love to be defined by aspects regarding their character or a part of who they are on the inside. However, the speaker rejects this idea and desires for something deeper in her own relationships and love life. The speaker requests that she not be loved by her appearance and also not by her internal qualities. Ultimately, the speaker understands the brevity of one s appearance and even personality as she addresses her lover to say for these things in themselves, Behold, may, Be changed or change for thee (95). The beauty that a couple holds dear or even the intellect that a person admires can evolve into a new being over time and will leave the person who originally embarked on that relationship disappointed because the reason they felt love has changed or dissolved. However, the speaker s solution to this dilemma is to love only except for love s sake only (95). By loving for the purpose of love itself, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Explain The Duty Of Care Within The Law Of Negligence The law of negligence covers a broad spectrum, with negligence being defined to apply in any situation where a defendant has breached a duty of care owed to a claimant . This essay will seek to look into the different areas within the law of negligence, to assess Lord Toulson s assertion in Micheal v Chief Constable of South Wales (2015) . There will be a primary focus on his notion of incremental growth , argument by analogy , and the necessity of policy considerations , with particular regard taken towards the mixture of policy considerations, in an effort to determine whether some areas, such as social costs, are weighed more heavily than others. Due to the wide breath and material covered under the law of negligence, this essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, the Ann s test similarly reflects this notion of limiting potential claims by specifying a sufficient relationship of proximity based upon foreseeability between claimants and taking considerations on policies which could negate a duty of care. This explicit acknowledgement of policy considerations illustrates how the courts are keen to prevent the floodgates opening, as a large volume of new claims could swamp the court s resources. However, in particular to the Anns test, the incremental growth of law and the implementation of the Caparo test didn t emerge from a lack of policy consideration, but rather from no recognition of previous policy, as it was not necessary to bring the facts of that situation within those of previous situation where a duty of care had been held to exist within the Anns test. This draws parallels with Lord Toulson s idea of an argument by analogy for extending liability . The fact that there was no homage paid to previous case law in determining a duty of care may contribute to the necessity of implementing the 3 stage Caparo test , as it is necessary for courts to be consistent in their rulings so that people know where they stand under the law. This notion is supported by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Essay on Using Fear to Control the Masses Fear is an emotion brought on by danger, evil, or pain. Sometimes the threat is real and sometimes it can be imagined. A person who is walking through a dark alley in the middle of the night may experience fear because they do not know whether or not it is safe to continue on. The fear of the unknown is also expressed in 1984, The Lottery, and Harrison Bergeron. The government in 1984 uses fear to control the masses. They set strict rules but leave a level of life completely unknown. The Party uses the people s easygoing, trusting personalities to their advantages. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery, the government holds an annual meeting where names are drawn and someone is toned to death. Not knowing through the whole process who will be ... If they do anything wrong, there is a chance that the government will come in the night and take them away to be vaporized. A similar thing occurs in Shirley Jackson s The Lottery. Tessie Hutchinson, a woman of the small town, is chosen in the lottery. The lottery is an annual event that occurs to take one person and stone them to death to keep the population to a minimum. Jackson illustrates Tessi s final scene: Tessie Hutchinson was in the center of a cleared space by now, and she held her hands out desperately as the villagers moved in on her (Jackson 7). Being put in this kind of position, the government was able to control Tessie because of her fear. At that point, Tessie would be willing to do anything to save her life but the rules of the government force her to be stoned. Both Orwell and Jackson used the fear of the unknown as a solid point in their government structures much like Kurt Vonnegut did. In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery, and Kurt Vonnegut s Harrison Bergeron, people are stoned and handicapped to fill the people with fear of the government. Shirley Jackson created a government in which people were afraid of the final choosing. In the annual lottery a single person was chosen to be stoned to death by their fellow neighbors. Tessie Hutchinson speaks out near the end of the drawing and almost whispers, I think we ought to start over, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You re sitting at your dining table with your dog chewing on the fabric of the chair your grandma gave to you when you left for college because you don t have enough money to buy him a toy. You try to calculate what your check should be by the end of this week so you can get the poor guy some food and feed yourself as well. It turns out that this weeks check will be more than enough. You go to work the next day and on your way home you receive an email saying that your check has just been deposited into your bank account. You go to look at your bank account and you see that got paid way less than you thought it would be. In 2015, 65% of taxes went to Mandatory Spending, 29% went to Discretionary Spending, and 6% went to Interest on Debt. Now that we have numbers stated and many facts to back up my rant about tax and how it is divided. No for every dollar, they give science 1.1¢ and Environment Energy 1.6¢ while giving the pentagon 25.4¢. The government is caring more about the military than about the environment and science. If you really think about it, maybe they think that war will help global warming. Later in the future we will have to war in order to figure out a way of saving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
