Our experiment is designed to show the symbiotic relationship between the mycorrhizal fungus and
spinach plant. We constructed a 2X2 table of live molasses and controlled groups. Our hypothesis is
that the live molasses with mycorrhizae group will extend the plants root bodies and increase the total
surface area of the plant. That being said, the fungus and the plant will have a symbiotic mutual
relationship towards each other. Our predictions came out to be false. The controlled groups had a
higher average in shoot length and wet mass, which indicates that the plant and fungus have a parasitic

non diegetic sound throughout the film. The Simon and Garfunkel sound track fit in very nicely to set
the tone of the film and give the audience clues as to what the characters were feeling. Aside from the
non diegetic sound the diegetic sound was also used very effectively to express character emotions, in
particular Ben s emotions. Ben s disconnect from society as a whole could have been discovered in the
scene in which his father is having him present his birthday present; the use of sound was so strong it

We know that he wants to be heard, but is brushed to the side. We also can assume that he is locked in
this scuba gear but is unable to make any verbal communication nor is he able to accept any verbal
communication. The plunge into the water could have signified a parallel to his actual feelings. He is
now completely disconnected from anyone around him and when he tries to resurface to get back to
the world something forces him to go back under once again prohibiting his ability to speak for
himself, much like how he was repeatedly disregarded and pushed away by his father earlier in the

In my other movie watching endeavors I have found that being underwater is very symbolic of a

Brain tumor detection is a tedious job because of the complex structure of the brain. From the MR
images, the information such as tumor location can be understood. It provides an easier way to
diagnose the tumor and plan the surgical approach for its removal. Doctors do not have a method that
can be used for brain tumor detection and standardization, which leads to varying conclusions between
one doctor to another. There comes the requirement of an automated system for locating tumor in
Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI).
The existing classification methods have limitation in accuracy, exactness and require manual
interaction. So, designing automated system using image segmentation techniques helps make the

A new system that can be used as a second decision for the surgeons and radiologists is proposed. In
this system, brain tumors have been segmented with the help of two methods that is Enhanced K
Strange Points and K Means algorithms followed by Morphological Filtering.
The Enhanced K Strange Points Clustering algorithm converged faster with less number of steps than
the K Means Clustering algorithm.

In Cradle to Cradle by William McDonough and Michael Braungart, the two authors take into great
detail by explaining the cradle to grave manufacturing system. The system explains every step of a
product s life from the creation to the disposal of the product. It is important to learn about this system
because in order for a company to track and take responsibility of their hazardous waste . The system
itself explained where products are created and the mass production goes into this system without
enough consideration to human health and the environment. McDonough and Braungart promote for a
new framework where companies take into consideration on every step of a product s lifestyle. In the
authors observations that human industry should co exist with nature by designing products that are in
a way non toxic, biodegradable, or recyclable without loss of material quality. With this in mind, a
common type of consumer product such as a plastic bottle that could be redesigned to be healthier for
humans, environmental friendly, and create less pollution towards our planet. The two ways that
plastic bottles can become more intelligently designed is by changing how plastic bottles are
manufactured in these industries and removing chemical ingredients that are harmful to human and
environmental health.
