Difference Between Ferdinand De Saussure And Bloomfield
RANI DWI ASTUTI

Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield
Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield are both give big contributions towards linguistics.
They both produce theories which are now used in linguistics. They have similarity as they both
studied language as a structure using science basic. They both focus on the structure of the language.
However, they do have several differences as the developed their own theories based on their thought
about language.
Saussure s thought nowadays is defined the option of synchronic linguistics , the study of language as
systems existing at a given point in time. Saussure developed his synchronic linguistics when he
taught a course called General linguistics and the history and ... Show more content on

Bloomfield views language more as a diachronic linguistics or historical linguistics focusing in
behaviour. The main points of Bloomfield s theories of language description can already be found in
Boas, though they are often stated more explicitly and with more elaboration by Bloomfield. What
was new in Bloomfield was a philosophically sophisticated emphasis on the status of linguistics as a
science. Bloomfield was not merely passively influenced by logical but (after a flirtation in his
twenties with very different views) became an active, proponent of positivist ideas as they applied to
the study of human behaviour, including language. For Bloomfield, linguistics was a branch of
psychology and specifically of the positivistic brand of the psychology known as behaviourism .
Bloomfield s theorizing about language was heavily behaviouristic. Behaviourism is a principle of
scientific method: a rule which says that the only things that may be used to confirm or refute a
scientific theory are interpersonally observable phenomena, rather than, say, people s introspections or
intuitions . In some ways it was in fact easier for linguist than for psychologist to accept behaviourist

Zimbabwe Research Paper
Robert Mugabe spent ten years in prison before assuming the presidency of Zimbabwe. Instead of
learning from his time in prison, he brought all his poor habits of corruption to the country of
Zimbabwe ( Zimbabwe s 1). During his powerful rule, Zimbabwe faced many different situations
within his country. Within the first few years of Mugabe being president, Zimbabwe started to have
some political and economical issues. Whether or not the issues are a direct correlation to Mugabe
being president is unknown, but the timing is impeccable. Money was starting to disappear within the
government causing an economic crisis, and Zimbabwe was having massive poverty and inflation
increases. These issues led to the conspiracy of a corrupt government ... Show more content on

It is in fact the the third most corrupt country in Africa. Corruption has increased in Zimbabwe forty
three percent from 2002 to 2012. All signs of corruption in Africa, especially in Zimbabwe led back to
the government and President Mugabe. The unethical ways of political officials in Zimbabwe
influenced other countries in Africa. The Anti Corruption Trust in South Africa found that traffic
police in Zimbabwe accumulated wealth which was not justifiable due to their salaries (Mathuthu 1, 2,
3). Robert Mugabe has been known for paying off people in contract settlements and brides ( Govt 1,
2, 3). Now a correlation is beginning to be found between the actions of Mugabe and the rest of
Africa. Nearly 75 million people in Africa have been estimated to have paid someone a bride within
the last year. As a region totaling in twenty eight governments eighteen out of these are completely
insufficient to address the issues within their countries corruption ( 75 1, 2). Since Mugabe gained
power in 1987, his actions have been very destructive for the rest of the region. Following in the

Performance Analysis Simulation
Performance analysis is an essential aspect to any business due to its evaluate performance. The goal
of the performance analysis is to identify problems, understand the cause and make informed
decisions. To do that, asking why is important. Why is my competitor making more sales? Why are
sales slow? Why are my expenses so high? If you know why, you can make calculated decisions and
advance the success of your company. To answer those why questions, you must analyze available
data. For each round of the simulation, a new set of decisions will be made, those decisions will
directly affect the budget. It is vital to analyze the pro forma, income statement, actual and budget to

Women s Role In Terrorism
A large part of the literature review thus concentrated on the definition and characteristics of modern
terrorism. However, since terrorist group s present singularity and uniqueness in their characteristics,
is it even possible to reach consensus on the definition and the meaning of the word? Globalization
has affected the interpretation of the word terrorism by changing the face of these organizations.
Quantitatively and qualitatively, changes occurred in terrorist organizations over the last decades, and
one of them is the increasing involvement of women in their structures. From contextual pressure to
individual motivations, the increase of female involved in terrorist organizations and activities result
from a conjunction of several interrelated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Historically, women s role has been more pronounced in left wing groups. While women roles in left
wing groups tend to be equal with male members, left wing groups are also more likely to act
domestically. In Inside Terrorism Bruce Hoffman explains that terrorist activities of ethno separatist
groups, both then and now, tend to be less international in scope . In early modern terrorism, the
involvement of women is usually referred as female militancy. There was a strong presence of women
in several of the most active left wing terrorist groups. Cindy D. Ness suggests that women have
tended to be more active as leaders and members of groups to overturn traditional values rather than to
restore the old ones. The very nature of left wing groups is more disposed to justify and advocate in
favor of women assuming leadership and operational positions. Non traditional roles and the overturn
of traditional societies is fundamental in the case of left wing groups. Left wing groups advocated for
a radical break with the past, and women involvement as leaders was the first step toward an overturn
of traditions. The Japanese Red Army (JRA) was founded in 1969 and led by Fusako Shigenobu until
her arrest in Japan in 2000. In conflict with both state and society, the JRA has been active in different
regions of the world (Japan; Southeast Asia; Middle East) and has conducted international attacks
successfully. Revolutionary movements in Latin America have historically involved women in their
ranks. Karla J. Cunningham found that female membership within the Revolutionary Armed Forces of
Colombia (FARC) vary from 20 to 40 percent with a general average of 30 percent. Originally, at
frontline roles, women have progressively access to intelligence gathering and frontline operational
roles. Inside the Shining Path Peru organizations, 50 percent of the

The Party Exited the Courtyard
Minister Mike s party included Skylar, Ethan, Mr Pisher and a meager handful of the remaining
students each of whom tolerated the midday sun as they walked single file around the massive Palace
structure. The once magnificent lush grounds had turned into withering vegetation. Water was scarce.
The new Government could not afford this luxurious expensive. Those who lived in the region did not
know why the devoted groundskeepers had recently abandoned their post. Soon, it would become
evident as Minister Mike s party continued around Egyptian style Palace.
The Babylon summer Palace was shaped in a U design, so when Minister Mike saw the balcony above
the first wing; he noticed Giselle by herself clutching the railing. She looked nauseated. He wanted to
say something. However, Mike felt it best to leave her alone.
Mike did not see Daniel ducking behind the balcony French door.
The Minister s party rounded the Palace. There they strolled into the three sided courtyard. Marble
terraced steps leaded from an Olympic size swimming pool to the main residence level. The scale of
the Saddam s Babylon Palace would rival those in Europe; mounted above the Babylon ruins, it was
easy to imagine the grand parties hosted poolside.
Now a drained pool sat eroding with desert debris. The diving board was scattered from its mountings.
It gave an eerie appearance to the dismal Palace grounds.
Skylar ascended the steps into the pool, and turn back to the Minister. She mimicked a

National Incident Management System (NIMS)
After September 11, 2001, the Department of Homeland of Security was formed in response to the
terrorist attacks. Out of the birth of the agencies formed, the National Incident Management System
(NIMS) was created to allow clear allocation of resources and a systematic approach to emergency
management. The system can be effective in many responses where many levels of government and
response are imminent to respond to the disaster. Many of these agencies are emergency management,
police, fire, health, and EMS from all levels of government. NIMS can be used on any type of incident
and of any size or scope in nature. In Smith County, an E 4 tornado touched down in Stadtown
leveling many of the homes and the shopping mall (Walsh, D.W., et al, 2012). Command was
established by the local on the scene within minutes of touchdown. Given the impact of a potential of
900 residents in the area, there could be multiple levels of response needed to respond to and recover
from this incident. Given that the response could include many agencies from many levels of
government and specialties, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) would be instituted.

winner. This hardly describes doug and who he is because he is so much more. Only one offer from a
division one college because of his height, but he did the most he could with it and became a legend
for the game of football. Weather it was his no huddle offence in canada or his famous hail mary in
college, or being a great father he will always be remembered. He will always be most remembered
for being the first successful quarterback that was short. Douglas Richard Flutie was born in
Manchester, Maryland in 1962. He was the type of kid who was playing sports all of the time. He
ended up playing high school sports in Natick, Massachusetts. He played baseball, basketball, and
football in high school and was successful at all three. Basketball was always always my first love

hard for doug to make a choice on which sport to choose. The only thing holding doug back from

Sreedharan did three things to get the project done. First, with infrastructure projects languishing all
over India for lack of funds, he went overseas, tapping the Japan Bank of International Cooperation
for loans to cover 60% of the cost. By comparison, it took the city of Kolkata 22 years to build its own
metro because of a paucity of funds.
Second, Sreedharan scoured the world for top companies with extensive experience in the field.
Pacific Consultants International from Japan advised on the engineering matters, Korea s Rotem and
Japan s Mitsubishi supplied the initial shipment of coaches, while France s Alstom led the consortium
responsible for the design of the automatic train control system.
Delhi Metro Rail An Introduction
Delhi, the capital city of India, is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with a population of 13
million as reported in the Census of India Report for the year 2000. Until recently, it was perhaps the
only city of its size in the world depending almost entirely on roads as the sole mode of mass
transport. The total length of the road network in Delhi has increased from a mere 652 km in 1981 to
1122 km in 2001 and it is expected to grow to 1340 km in the year 2021. This increase in road length
is not at par with the phenomenal growth in the number of vehicles on these roads in Delhi. The

The Problem We All Live With By Norman Rockwell

Rights Movement in the United States, it depicts Ruby Bridges, a six year old African American girl,
on her way into an all white public school in New Orleans on November 14, 1960 during the process
of racial desegregation. The little girl in the painting titled The Problem We All Live With is walking
to school in a white dress, white socks and white shoes. Her hair is parted in neat plaits and she is
carrying a book and a ruler. The use of white Rockwell is symbolic of the new found optimism in the
US and the hope for the future the girl appears confident and proud, even as she is overshadowed by

Ethos Logos
THESIS: In Jonathan Edwards Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God vivid imagery is utilized
through ethos, logos, and pathos in an attemt to sway the acts of sinners to be morally correct.
Jonathan Edward, an American theolagian and central figure in the awakening during the 1800 s, was
mostly known for leadning the great awakning and his strong belief in hell: a very common topic
during his time. In his sermon sinners in the hands of an angry god, preached on July 8, 1741 in
Enfield, Connecticut. Edward emphasizes gods power and how easy it is for god to drop you in hell,
so therfore you should do everyhting you can to get on his good side.
Sinners in the hands of an angry god is a sermon written by Jonathan Edwards, an American
theolagian. The sermon was preached during the periode of great awakening when it was a time of
religiouse revival. The Great Awakening was essentially a spiritual awakening of different religious
groups in thethirteen colonies of America in the 18th century. While before the people were more
static and somberin their approach to religion, when the Awakening began they started to be more
emotional, so they could feel a greater connection to God. After the Glorious Revolution of ... Show

Using pathos connects with the reader or listener emotionally, sometimes making them feel that the
speech is being directed to them personally. The use of ethos is critical because in order for edwards
audience to take him seriously, they must respect him and agree that he is worth listening to. Finally,
the use of logos in edwards preach is important because facts are needed in order to make a valid
position and point. Opinion is great, but the readers and listeners need to know the facts in order to
listen and agree to edward ethically and emotionally. Ethos, logos, and pathos in edwards sermon are

The Early Confucius And Modern Political Party
This film likens the early Confucius philosophers to a modern political party. The three major
Confucius philosophers, Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi, are all vying for the position of the leader of
the Confucianist party, a center right party who rules China in 2025. The three candidates have some
differing views on the possible direction of the party and each have their own ideas about not only the
way humanity is naturally or currently but they are also concerned with the way man should deal with
conflict, self cultivation and day to day life. The story is set during a time of much conflict and World
War 3 has recently broken out after decades of turmoil. There is significant amount of worry among
the general population and each leader wishes to ease this worry in a different way. The Confucianist
party is an established party established by Confucius to promote his ideology and desires for the
nations. Currently, the party is in trouble as many are unsure of Confucius ideology still rings true in
the uncertain times of 2025.
Confucius is the most established Confucianist. He is the founder of the party and a well respected and
strong leader.
Mencius is an academic and candidate for the position of leader of the Confucianist party. He is
younger than Confucius and part of a younger generation that has been all too familiar with war and

Not long ago, Countrywide Financial seemed to have everything going for it. Cofounded by Angelo
Mozilo in 1969, by the early 2000s it had become the largest provider of home loans in the United
States. At that time one in six U.S. loans originated with Countrywide. In 1993 its loan transactions

Many of the baby boomers started selling their houses to fund their retirement. Disposable income
was becoming nonexistent. Despite all of these warning signs financial institutions kept on making
risky loans, such as the subprime loans, and builders kept on building more houses for profit. The end
result was a surplus of housing and no consumers able to afford it. Banks were forced to start
foreclosing on houses when the consumers stopped paying their mortgages. Foreclosure rates were
skyrocketing, causing investors and borrowers to feel the full effect of the risks of the subprime loans.
The surmounting number of mortgage defaults and investors pulling out of their mortgage backed
securities caused a string of bank and financial institution failures. These failures were felt world
wide, as billions of dollars were lost. Many of the larger financial institutions required government
assistance to stay afloat. In just over a year Countrywide depreciated and absorbed $21 billion in
losses. Eight billion in subprime loans has a seven percent delinquency rate, as well as the foreclosure
rate on the loans doubled. Countrywide laid off twenty percent of its employees.
When Is Making A Subprime Loan An Ethical Thing To Do?
When making a subprime loan it is the responsibility of the lender to discern whether the loan is a
good risk for the borrower and the lender. If the loan is going to be a poor risk to the borrower

Management Information Systems Recommendations Report
For Fictitious Company Globally, retailing is witnessing epic transformations. The use of technology
has fueled upheavals in the retail landscape that are revolutionary in scope, and unprecedented in
nature (Leventon, Gupta Magal, 2011). Technology has advanced from the automation of structured
processes to systems that are truly revolutionary in that they introduce change into the fundamental
business procedures, workflow and management of an organization. Numerous studies have shown
that the employment of new or the updating of a business s existing technology contributes to a firm s
competitive advantage, which in turn creates greater value for the customer (Altshuler, Gelb Henry,
2010; Bharadwaj, 2000; Carr, 2003; Mellville, Kraemer, Ghurbaxani, 2004). The main operational and
human resource challenges for Fictitious Company that will be addressed from a management
information system perspective in this report are: low levels of inventory, manual procurement
procedures, access to new trends, and security and ethical breaches by employees.
A competitive advantage exists when a company is able to deliver the same benefits as competitors
but at a lower cost, or deliver benefits that exceed those of competing products (Porter, 1998). The
operational and human resource challenges experienced by Fictitious Company clearly places the
business at a competitive disadvantage. To address this dilemma it is

Family Should Be Best Friends
I have always been told that the siblings or sibling in a family should be best friends. As I was
growing up with an older brother, things were not always like that in my house. It was hard for me to
see my friends hanging out and going to lunch with their older siblings because I never had that
relationship with my older brother, Zack. Zack was different. He had a lot going on with his life so
when he wouldn t talk to me or blow me off, I would just shake it off and pretend that eventually he
would become that fun, older brother we all see in movies. Then I finally realized, nothing would
change. I was devastated to never have that relationship with my brother because I didn t understand
why he never wanted to be with me. What have I done wrong? Am I really that annoying as a little
sister? That was until my mother informed on what was going on with Zack. He had severe social and
anger issues which caused him to be jealous of me because of all my friends that I had, leading him to
be mean and angry with me all the time because of his anger issues. I felt awful for my poor big
brother. He doesn t deserve this, I would think to myself at night. These thoughts and feelings went on
until the summer of 2015, when everything changed. In the period of time from when I pretended like
nothing was wrong with my brother to when I found out, I focused a lot on my friends. I made so
many close friends who I considered to be siblings more than Zack. It was like I had 15 unrelated

years following the 2008 financial crisis.

more demanding consumers, and how to take advantage of new technology. Financial crime costs an
estimated $20 billion in losses annually, and the operational costs of compliance continue to grow
substantially each year. Due to the complexity of financial services, detecting and preventing fraud
within the financial world is nearly impossible. The threats can be either domestic or international and
they may originate internally or externally. Perhaps the most disturbing statistic in the 2010 ACFE

List Price And Agent Feedback On The Weekly Calls
As RMS has indicated many times, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of
assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS continues to believe on many of these assets, the
condition or location of the property is the primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list
price, but ultimately a sales price well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended
days on market and increased carrying costs incurred by the trust. This is an ongoing issue observed
with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls.
List price continues to be the biggest concern and is a frequent topic during our weekly target assets
and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition, agent
feedback and offers (or lack thereof).
RMS continues to review assets where we believe the list price set by Altisource is high relative to our
opinion of market value. On listed assets with DOM of more than 60 days and no offers, RMS and
Altisource discuss the list price and agent feedback to understand why offers have not been received.
RMS targets these assets for review every 2 weeks.
Another recent observation is a continued increase in the number of assets in pending contracts that
fall out because the buyer fails to return the purchase agreement. RMS continued to observe this in
January 2016. We believe this relates to the process by which Altisource sells REO assets (on the
HUBZU website), where

Characteristics Of The DISC Model Of Human Behavior
The DISC model of human behavior is a simple key to understand how people behave and how they
are motivated. Twenty four hundred years ago, scientists and philosophers, most notably Hippocrates,
began to recognize and categorize differences in behavior that seemed to follow a pattern. Since then,
many psychologists and scientists have explored behavioral patterns. The initial DISC model comes
from Dr. William Marston, a physiological psychologist, in a book entitled Emotions of Normal
People, published in 1928. He did not create an instrument from his theory, but others did. DISC is the
leading personal assessment tool used by over 1 million people every year to improve work
productivity, teamwork and communication. I believe the public sector must adopt this DISC test
before recruitments in order to avoid social loafing (Max Ringelmann ,1913), the phenomenon of
people exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they work in a group than when they work alone.
The DISC model is the universal language of observable human behavior. Each letter has its own
meaning. D (Dominance) is how people respond to problems and challenges. I ... Show more content

Billy Collins Passion
Author talks about understanding your passion. What do you think Collins is talking about when he
says you can only discover passion and the passion of those around you? Before I began to discuss
what I feel the author Collins was talking about in his quote, we must define what passion really is.
There were a couple of definitions for passion.
Strong and barely controllable emotion:
Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate:
Strong enormous feelings desire: love, adore
Strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything.
You hear all the time when people say that they are compassionate about one thing or another, one

How you use your time or don t use your time is going to be the best indication of where your future is
going to take you. Just think about when you work hard at something you become good at it, and
when you become good at doing something, the possibility will be very high that you will become
very passionate about it and enjoy it very much. Collins also stated that you cannot manufacture
passion or motivate people to feel passionate. You can only discover what ignites your passion and the
passions of those around you. (Collins, pg. 109). Now with the good to great companies they did not
say, okay, folks, let s get passionate about what we do. They went in a totally different direction by
only doing the things that folks could get passionate about. And this passion became a very important
part of the Hedgehog concept. An example of this would be the Kimberly Clarke executives who
made the shift to paper based consumer products in large because they thought they could become
more passionate about them. Another example would be Gillette executives who made the choice to

Essay on Same Sex Couples Adoption Rights
Should Same Sex Couples Have the Same Adoption Rights as Heterosexual Couples?

Should Same Sex Couples Have the Same Adoption Rights as Heterosexual Couples?
In 2008, President Barack Obama stated there are too many children who need loving parents to deny
one group of people adoption rights (eQuality, 2005). A child will benefit from a healthy, loving home,
whether the parents are gay or not (eQuality, 2005). With that statement in 2008 from the individual
who holds the most powerful authority in the United States, why are gay and lesbian couples today
still battling adoption laws? When in fact while trying to adopt and raise children a couple s sexual ...

Miraculously in 2010 Florida acknowledged that the adoption ban was unconstitutional (eQuality,
2005). In previous years homosexuals interested in the adoption process would use foster care to
acquire the same nurturing family that heterosexuals had acquired thus, circumventing the system. The
unconstitutional ban had the ability to deter potential same sex adoptive parents because they feared
automatic exclusion. With the increased pressure from the gay community to allow same sex
adoptions many adoption agencies are becoming more accommodating to homosexuals. However, the
obstacles that same sex couples encounter tend to minimize the whole family structure and make the
family unit vulnerable (Brown, Smalling, Groza, Ryan, 2009). Unfortunately, there is a number of
legal hurdles gay and lesbian couples face when trying to adopt therefore, the system has to be
circumvented. Also same sex couples encounter individuals who subconsciously and consciously
discriminate through a variety of behaviors including evident harassment or social exclusion (Brown,
Smalling, Groza, Ryan, 2009). It would seem as if the drive to prevent same sex couples from the
benefit of joint adoption starts with the discrimination of these couples rather than the welfare of the
child (Johnson, n.d). In fact, these discriminations include accusations of psychological disorders and
a higher occurrence of domestic violence.

The Space Race Essay
The years after World War II was a time of great scientific and technological advancements. With
these advancements came great tension and rivalry between the United States and the former Union of
Soviet Socialists Republic (USSR). The biggest rivalry between the two superpowers was the
advancement in space technology. In 1952, the International Geophysical Year (IGY) was established
in which scientists stated that in the time between July 1, 1957 and December 31, 1958, solar activity
would be at a high point. The IGY made it so that both the US and the USSR became determined to be
the first to reach space, and so the space race was born. During the space race, the USSR made many
launches that were very advanced and superior to the US. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This launch was extraordinary because it put the first living mammal into space. This satellite was
much heavier than Sputnik 1, having two cabins, one for the equipment and controls and another for
Laika, the dog. Laika s cabin provided her with oxygen, food, water and allowed the dog enough room
to lie down and stand (Siddiqi). It was predicted that Laika would live for ten days, but due to thermal
problems inside the satellite she only survived for about two. At the time of Sputnik 2, there was no
mention of the US even trying to send any living organism into space because they were still having
trouble with regular satellite launches. This launch not only further emphasized the Soviet Union s
superiority to the United States, but it also provided scientists with the first data of a living organism
in space and foreshadowed the future in human space travel. By the anniversary of Sputnik 1, it
seemed like the United States were catching up to the Soviet Union in terms of satellites launched.
The US had now launched three Explorers and one Vanguard while the USSR had launched three
Sputniks. Although the US had launched more satellite than the USSR, Sputnik 1 weighed more than
all four of the US satellites combined and Sputnik 3 weighed and astonishing 2,950 pounds. The three
US launches couldn t compare to the Soviet Union s launches because the Sputnik launches were so

Essay on Examining the Pathetique Sonata
Examining The Pathetique Sonata At the start of the nineteenth century, the world of music made a
transition from the Classic Period of composition to what is now known as the Romantic Era.
Composers experimented with more expressive and songlike melodies while pianists developed higher
skill levels to match the increased technical demands of the pieces. One man who embodied this
particular transitional period was Ludwig van Beethoven. Beethoven was one of the first composers to
stray from traditional forms of music and incorporate a broader range of pitch and dynamics into his
compositions. In 1798 Beethoven composed the Sonata No. 8 in C Minor, which incorporates many
romantic elements of music. Often referred to as The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme begins quietly in piano, but tension builds as the left hand rumbles back and forth between
octaves. A subtle crescendo eventually leads to a stunning virtuoso passage that incorporates the use of
a cross hand technique and modulates into the key of E flat major. This key change is carried over
throughout the remainder of the exposition and into the closing, which is typical of the sonata allegro
from. What makes this first movement unique is the fact that the introductory Grave theme is repeated
both at the beginning of the development section and in the coda. This was not typical of pieces
written during the late eighteenth century and proved to be one of Beethoven s initial experiments
with the sonata allegro form. The second movement of Beethoven s eighth sonata entitled Adagio
cantabile is strikingly different from the fast pace and thundering themes of the first movement. It
opens with eight bars of a beautiful and delicate melody that most people can readily identify. It is this
songlike melody of the second movement that many romantic composers attempted to emulate in their
compositions. After the introduction of this melody, the movement progresses in a traditional rondo
form as new themes are introduced, and the initial melody is repeated. The initial theme is written in
the key of A flat and is repeated a total of three times during the movement. It is followed the first
time by a theme beginning in the key

How can Warranty and Contract Management benefit the Government Customer?
The management of warranty and contracts is a key aspect of procurement both for the government
and the contractors. While there are numerous advantages of maintaining an effective contract system,
some of the key benefits include; tracking, contract vendors and their contact details, and knowing the
assets covered under the contracts. It also assists in maintaining the profiles of all the client contracts
under a single space.
The primary benefit of warranty and contract management is the reduction of administrative overhead
costs. Hoskisson Hitt (2008) explain that, with a centralized log of assets and contracts, the misuse of
resources is heavily minimized, thus giving the management an opportunity to allocate resources
where they are needed. Further, this translates into immediate savings of costs for the government
customer owing to the decommissioning of outdated machines off the contracts and

Taking a Look at Quantitative Easing
During the financial crisis in 2008, the Central Banks (CB) tried to repair the economy by setting in
action an open market operation (OMO). An OMO is where the CB buys short term bonds to increase
the money supply. The CB s across the globe had to use a monetary policy instead of a fiscal policy,
partly due to countries sovereign debt problems . The CB s were buying short term bonds until the real
interest rate fell to zero. When the real interest rate fell to zero it created liquidity trap. And CBs had to
look to unconventional monetary policies to create a higher output. This paper will seek to answer if
unconventional monetary policies, specifically quantitative easing (QE), were effective on the
economy or not. First, this paper will explain what liquidity trap and how it is relevant. Second, it will
explain how QE work. Third, it will conclude if QE were effective or not. To question whether QE
were effective or not it will use the American economy. This paper will illustrate liquidity trap and QE
by using the models: MS MD, IS LM and AS AD. Liquidity trap is when short term interest rate on
short term bonds falls close to zero or zero and OMO has no affect on the interest rate. When the
interest rate are close or at zero, the demand curve is flat or very elastic, so an increase in the money
supply will not have any affect on the interest rate. The demand curve for money is flat because
people are anticipating a deflation or any negative shock to the economy, and

General Anesthetic Essay
General anesthetic is a universal analgesic administered to the body perioperatively during surgical
and medical procedures to alleviate or numb pain (P.Garcia et al. 2010). It works by ceasing sensation,
immobilizing the patient and causing unconsciousness in the individual (Alkire et al. 2008). The exact
mechanism of action of general anesthesia is not entirely known, however, it s theorized that several
underlying mechanisms are responsible for its analgesic effects (B.Antikowiak 2001).
These mechanisms all work to either inhibit excitatory signals or excite inhibitory signals in the CNS
by modulation of several ion channels or by disruption of cell function causing analgesia (P.Garcia et
al. 2010). This is done by alteration of membrane proteins resulting in modulation of Na+ channels

Garcia et al.2010) .By increasing the activity of the GABAA inhibitory receptors by allosteric
modulation through anesthetic binding, there is a greater sensitivity in GABA ion channels and
therefore inhibitory signals, blocking the cessation of pain transmission through the CNS (P.Garcia et
al. 2010).
Correspondingly general anesthetics is also theorized to interact with the ligand gated NMDA
excitatory ion channels resulting in its inhibition (Pleuvry 2008).
This inhibition causes a disruption in excitation signaling by disallowing the polarization of the cell
(Pleuvry 2008).
Furthermore it was also thought that anesthetic could cause alterations in the membrane lipid bilayer
through the fluidization of the phosopholid heads (Weir 2006). This fluidization was said to disrupt
ion channels that transverse through the membrane impairing the ability of the cell to function and
therefore impede cells signaling (Weir

Comparing Unnatural Strategies To Relax
Everyone experiences some level of stress whether it is in their school life, work life, or social life
around friends and family. To relieve stress, many people use different strategies to achieve a relaxing
state. Two major ways people are able to relieve stress is naturally and unnaturally. Relieve stress
naturally involves using your own body and mentality to relax while unnatural sources of relaxation
comes drugs like alcohol, marijuana and tobacco products. Unnatural and natural strategies are used to
promote relaxation. Both methods compare and contrast with their beneficial uses, long lasting effects,
and its controversy on overall health. Even though unnatural and natural strategies of relaxing takes
time, they both produce extra benefits beyond solely relaxation. Natural strategies, for example,
exercising not only enables relaxation if done to an extent, but also promotes better heart health,
muscle growth, endurance, and weight loss. While these extra benefits are generally desired, to get to
the point of feeling relaxation may be longer and harder to get. Unnatural strategies for relaxation, like
alcohol, do not give other health benefits like exercising, but it is generally easier to achieve a relaxing
state with less time and effort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Autism Spectrum Disorder ( Asd )
What Is Autism? Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD) is a development disorder and affects the brains
normal development in social and communication skills. ASD is now defined as a single disorder and
includes disorders that were previously considered separate such as Childhood Disintegrative
Disorder, Asperger s Syndrome, and Persuasive Developmental Disorder not otherwise specified.
There is no exact cause of ASD, but scientists believe that a variety of factors both genetic and
environmental may play a role. Scientists believe that several genes are involved in the development
of ASD. There is a genetic susceptibility to ASD. This was initially determined by twin and other
family studies. Although many chromosomal and gene abnormalities have been associated with
symptoms of ASD, none of these are present in all affected children (Errol, 2014). Scientists believe
that some genetic problems seem to be inherited, while others happen randomly. Although genetics do
not fully explain the occurrence of ASD, researchers looked at the additional environmental causes
such as prenatal and perinatal factors, early toxin exposure, viral or bacterial infections, vaccinations,
and autoimmune concerns. Scientists are studying how environmental factors affect certain genes. By
studying how environmental factors affect genes, it provides many new ways to study how ASD
develops and changes over time. ASD affects a child s ability to interact and communicate with others.

Advantages Of Competitive Strategies
This TPA will discuss about four competitive strategies according to Porter s five forces model.
Furthermore, this TPA will also use the model to help a Malaysian business partner in order to gain
competitive advantages and to sustain those four competitive strategies. Competitive advantage is
defined as a condition where a company is in a favorable position in order for it to be more profitable
than its competitors. This can be done by selling the same goods as its competitors at a lower price or
providing goods that give a greater value, which mean a high quality product through differentiation
(Business Dictionary, 2015). Every company needs to identify its competitive advantages in order for
an organisation to be able to gain profit and to continue the business for a foreseeable future.

Rudyard Kipling stated, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet (Velgen 240).
One of the main questions posed by this novel, as asked by Mahmoud Ali and Hamidullah, is whether
or not it is possible to be friendly with the Englishmen. The book serves as an example as to how
difficult it might seem to achieve unity when there s diversity already present. This question is
answered through discovering the personal relationships among the main characters in the novel and
analyzing the effects of imperialism on the exploitation of those personal relationships. Set in British
colonial India, the novel explores cultural, religious, and political barriers and the hostility between
the subjects and the ruling class. India, a country already known to be diverse within itself and
containing innumerable groups formed by social hierarchy and distinct traditions, was unaware of a

Difference Between Ferdinand De Saussure And Bloomfield RANI DWI ASTUTI 13211141025 Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield Ferdinand de Saussure and Leonard Bloomfield are both give big contributions towards linguistics. They both produce theories which are now used in linguistics. They have similarity as they both studied language as a structure using science basic. They both focus on the structure of the language. However, they do have several differences as the developed their own theories based on their thought about language. Saussure s thought nowadays is defined the option of synchronic linguistics , the study of language as systems existing at a given point in time. The main points of Bloomfield s theories of language description can already be found in Boas, though they are often stated more explicitly and with more elaboration by Bloomfield. What was new in Bloomfield was a philosophically sophisticated emphasis on the status of linguistics as a science. Bloomfield was not merely passively influenced by logical but (after a flirtation in his twenties with very different views) became an active, proponent of positivist ideas as they applied to the study of human behaviour, including language. For Bloomfield, linguistics was a branch of psychology and specifically of the positivistic brand of the psychology known as behaviourism . Bloomfield s theorizing about language was heavily behaviouristic. Behaviourism is a principle of scientific method: a rule which says that the only things that may be used to confirm or refute a scientific theory are interpersonally observable phenomena, rather than, say, people s introspections or intuitions . In some ways it was in fact easier for linguist than for psychologist to accept behaviourist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of learning from his time in prison, he brought all his poor habits of corruption to the country of Zimbabwe ( Zimbabwe s 1). During his powerful rule, Zimbabwe faced many different situations within his country. Within the first few years of Mugabe being president, Zimbabwe started to have some political and economical issues. Whether or not the issues are a direct correlation to Mugabe being president is unknown, but the timing is impeccable. • 6. Women s Role In Terrorism A large part of the literature review thus concentrated on the definition and characteristics of modern terrorism. However, since terrorist group s present singularity and uniqueness in their characteristics, is it even possible to reach consensus on the definition and the meaning of the word? Globalization has affected the interpretation of the word terrorism by changing the face of these organizations. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Historically, women s role has been more pronounced in left wing groups. While women roles in left wing groups tend to be equal with male members, left wing groups are also more likely to act domestically. In Inside Terrorism Bruce Hoffman explains that terrorist activities of ethno separatist groups, both then and now, tend to be less international in scope . In early modern terrorism, the involvement of women is usually referred as female militancy. There was a strong presence of women in several of the most active left wing terrorist groups. Cindy D. Ness suggests that women have tended to be more active as leaders and members of groups to overturn traditional values rather than to restore the old ones. The very nature of left wing groups is more disposed to justify and advocate in favor of women assuming leadership and operational positions. Non traditional roles and the overturn of traditional societies is fundamental in the case of left wing groups. Left wing groups advocated for a radical break with the past, and women involvement as leaders was the first step toward an overturn of traditions. The Japanese Red Army (JRA) was founded in 1969 and led by Fusako Shigenobu until her arrest in Japan in 2000. In conflict with both state and society, the JRA has been active in different regions of the world (Japan; Southeast Asia; Middle East) and has conducted international attacks successfully. Revolutionary movements in Latin America have historically involved women in their ranks. Karla J. The Party Exited the Courtyard Minister Mike s party included Skylar, Ethan, Mr Pisher and a meager handful of the remaining students each of whom tolerated the midday sun as they walked single file around the massive Palace structure. The once magnificent lush grounds had turned into withering vegetation. Water was scarce. The new Government could not afford this luxurious expensive. Those who lived in the region did not know why the devoted groundskeepers had recently abandoned their post. Soon, it would become evident as Minister Mike s party continued around Egyptian style Palace. The Babylon summer Palace was shaped in a U design, so when Minister Mike saw the balcony above the first wing; he noticed Giselle by herself clutching the railing. She looked nauseated. He wanted to say something. However, Mike felt it best to leave her alone. Mike did not see Daniel ducking behind the balcony French door. The Minister s party rounded the Palace. There they strolled into the three sided courtyard. Marble terraced steps leaded from an Olympic size swimming pool to the main residence level. The scale of the Saddam s Babylon Palace would rival those in Europe; mounted above the Babylon ruins, it was easy to imagine the grand parties hosted poolside. Now a drained pool sat eroding with desert debris. The diving board was scattered from its mountings. It gave an eerie appearance to the dismal Palace grounds. Technology has advanced from the automation of structured processes to systems that are truly revolutionary in that they introduce change into the fundamental business procedures, workflow and management of an organization. This is an ongoing issue observed with Altisource and discussed on the weekly calls. Twenty four hundred years ago, scientists and philosophers, most notably Hippocrates, began to recognize and categorize differences in behavior that seemed to follow a pattern. Since then, many psychologists and scientists have explored behavioral patterns. The initial DISC model comes from Dr. William Marston, a physiological psychologist, in a book entitled Emotions of Normal People, published in 1928. He did not create an instrument from his theory, but others did. DISC is the leading personal assessment tool used by over 1 million people every year to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. I believe the public sector must adopt this DISC test before recruitments in order to avoid social loafing (Max Ringelmann ,1913), the phenomenon of people exerting less effort to achieve a goal when they work in a group than when they work alone. The unconstitutional ban had the ability to deter potential same sex adoptive parents because they feared automatic exclusion. This was not typical of pieces written during the late eighteenth century and proved to be one of Beethoven s initial experiments with the sonata allegro form. The second movement of Beethoven s eighth sonata entitled Adagio cantabile is strikingly different from the fast pace and thundering themes of the first movement. It opens with eight bars of a beautiful and delicate melody that most people can readily identify. It is this songlike melody of the second movement that many romantic composers attempted to emulate in their compositions. After the introduction of this melody, the movement progresses in a traditional rondo form as new themes are introduced, and the initial melody is repeated. The initial theme is written in the key of A flat and is repeated a total of three times during the movement. It is followed the first time by a theme beginning in the key ... • 30. Taking a Look at Quantitative Easing During the financial crisis in 2008, the Central Banks (CB) tried to repair the economy by setting in action an open market operation (OMO). An OMO is where the CB buys short term bonds to increase the money supply. The CB s across the globe had to use a monetary policy instead of a fiscal policy, partly due to countries sovereign debt problems . The CB s were buying short term bonds until the real interest rate fell to zero. When the real interest rate fell to zero it created liquidity trap. And CBs had to look to unconventional monetary policies to create a higher output. This paper will seek to answer if unconventional monetary policies, specifically quantitative easing (QE), were effective on the economy or not. First, this paper will explain what liquidity trap and how it is relevant. Second, it will explain how QE work. Third, it will conclude if QE were effective or not. To question whether QE were effective or not it will use the American economy. This paper will illustrate liquidity trap and QE by using the models: MS MD, IS LM and AS AD. Liquidity trap is when short term interest rate on short term bonds falls close to zero or zero and OMO has no affect on the interest rate. When the interest rate are close or at zero, the demand curve is flat or very elastic, so an increase in the money supply will not have any affect on the interest rate. The demand curve for money is flat because people are anticipating a deflation or any negative shock to the economy, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. General Anesthetic Essay General anesthetic is a universal analgesic administered to the body perioperatively during surgical and medical procedures to alleviate or numb pain (P.Garcia et al. 2010). It works by ceasing sensation, immobilizing the patient and causing unconsciousness in the individual (Alkire et al. 2008). The exact mechanism of action of general anesthesia is not entirely known, however, it s theorized that several underlying mechanisms are responsible for its analgesic effects (B.Antikowiak 2001). These mechanisms all work to either inhibit excitatory signals or excite inhibitory signals in the CNS by modulation of several ion channels or by disruption of cell function causing analgesia (P.Garcia et al. 2010). This is done by alteration of membrane proteins resulting in modulation of Na+ channels causing their blockade and activation of K+ channels in the CNS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garcia et al.2010) .By increasing the activity of the GABAA inhibitory receptors by allosteric modulation through anesthetic binding, there is a greater sensitivity in GABA ion channels and therefore inhibitory signals, blocking the cessation of pain transmission through the CNS (P.Garcia et al. 2010). Correspondingly general anesthetics is also theorized to interact with the ligand gated NMDA excitatory ion channels resulting in its inhibition (Pleuvry 2008). This inhibition causes a disruption in excitation signaling by disallowing the polarization of the cell (Pleuvry 2008). Furthermore it was also thought that anesthetic could cause alterations in the membrane lipid bilayer through the fluidization of the phosopholid heads (Weir 2006). This fluidization was said to disrupt ion channels that transverse through the membrane impairing the ability of the cell to function and therefore impede cells signaling (Weir ... ASD is now defined as a single disorder and includes disorders that were previously considered separate such as Childhood Disintegrative Disorder, Asperger s Syndrome, and Persuasive Developmental Disorder not otherwise specified. There is no exact cause of ASD, but scientists believe that a variety of factors both genetic and environmental may play a role. Scientists believe that several genes are involved in the development of ASD. There is a genetic susceptibility to ASD. This was initially determined by twin and other family studies. Although many chromosomal and gene abnormalities have been associated with symptoms of ASD, none of these are present in all affected children (Errol, 2014). Scientists believe that some genetic problems seem to be inherited, while others happen randomly. Although genetics do not fully explain the occurrence of ASD, researchers looked at the additional environmental causes such as prenatal and perinatal factors, early toxin exposure, viral or bacterial infections, vaccinations, and autoimmune concerns. Scientists are studying how environmental factors affect certain genes. By studying how environmental factors affect genes, it provides many new ways to study how ASD develops and changes over time. • 40. Indian Imperialism Rudyard Kipling stated, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet (Velgen 240). One of the main questions posed by this novel, as asked by Mahmoud Ali and Hamidullah, is whether or not it is possible to be friendly with the Englishmen. The book serves as an example as to how difficult it might seem to achieve unity when there s diversity already present. This question is answered through discovering the personal relationships among the main characters in the novel and analyzing the effects of imperialism on the exploitation of those personal relationships. Set in British colonial India, the novel explores cultural, religious, and political barriers and the hostility between the subjects and the ruling class. India, a country already known to be diverse within itself and containing innumerable groups formed by social hierarchy and distinct traditions, was unaware of a society in which people of different backgrounds live in unity.
