Heart Foundation Tick Program Analysis
The context and how the implementation of the Heart Foundation Tick program
The major work of the Heart Foundation Tick program is to challenge the food industries and improve
certain nutrient of food product for meeting their strict nutrition and labeling benchmark. The target of
this Tick program is to focus on the improvement of public health for addressing the rising problem of
chronic disease through change the food supply.
What is the Tick
The Tick is a logo that is provided to the food product by the Heart Foundation for ensuring the food
products are lower in certain nutrient such as saturated fat, sodium and higher in others including fibre
in vegetable and calcium in dairy compared with other food products within the same food category

Also, the product must be compliance with the Australian New Zealand Food Authority Code and the
Code of Practice on Nutrient Claims in Food Labels (10). All foods that are approved to use the Tick

Rhetorical Speech In Tamburlaine The King By William...

orn only two months before Shakespeare and dead before he was thirty, Christopher Marlowe,
considered to be the first English tragic poet, began and ended his literary work while Shakespeare
was still at the beginning. His earliest tragedy, Tamburlaine the Great, was a path opener for the
possibilities of Elizabethan tragedy. It was followed by other three tragedies, Dr Faustus, The Jew of
Malta, and Edward II. In the prologue to his first piece, Tamburlaine, the playwright announced his
intention to use in tragedy high astounding terms. Arrogantly, he denounced the jigging veins of
rhyming mother wits who had previously been devoted to tragedy.
In spite of his wide literary studies and sympathies, Marlowe was a rebel in essence. He ... Show more

Classical And Modern Demographic Transition
The demographic transition process involves two perspectives which are perceived as the guideline to
nations around the world to contemplate the finest strategy in development, namely, classical and
modern demographic theories. Demographic transition exists between the traditional societies which
indicated by the high rate fertility and mortality and modern communities which have achieved the
low level of fertility and mortality (Demeny in Fischer:2014). Due to the immediate growth of world
population, government around the world enforce these both points of view to accelerate the equality
in developing the societies. Classical and modern mindsets have certain connections to human and
economic development in the simmilarities and diffferences. This essay will elaborate the relation of
human and economic development which are presented in classical and modern demographic
transition approaches. Human development refers to Ranis (2004) is the final target of a nation

Dionysian Influence In Gwen Stefani s Rich Girl
I chose to analyze Rich Girl performed by Gwen Stefani. She is one of my favorite singer. Her
rebellion temper and colorful style is capturing along with her outstanding voice. Stefani was born
(1969) in Fullerton, California and begun her musical carrier at age 17 (Billboard,.2017). I would
consider Stefani a performer with Dionysian influence. Her music has always been passionate and
reflecting her life experiences and views on current issues. Stefani s life could be described as a
rollocoster, ups and downs that provide plenty of inspiration for her music. The song Rich Girl from
the Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Music album, performed by Gwen Stefani was released in 2004. The
song was based on the If I Was a Rich Man from the musical,

Legal Evolution of the Exclusionary Rule Essay
The Constitution of the United States was designed to protect citizens civil rights from infringement
by the government and law enforcement agencies. The Constitution guarantees that the civil liberties
of the people of this country shall be respected and upheld. That fact is often considered to be
common knowledge and taken for granted by the vast majority of the population. However it was not
always that way. American legislation is constantly growing and developing. New rules and practices
are being developed and established. The exclusionary rule is considered to be the most vital to the
protection of civil rights. The exclusionary rule is represented by the Fourth Amendment of the
Constitution and it guarantees that illegally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the overwhelming significance of the rights protected and guaranteed by the Fourth
Amendment, many questions and concerns existed regarding police and court procedures and
practices. The most important of those questions was whether or not illegally obtained evidence could
be used in courts. Before 1914, any evidence obtained by the police could be used in both Federal and
State courts, regardless of any constitutional violations that might have taken place during the search
and seizure of that evidence. Such practice has spawned multiple occurrences of police misconduct.
Before that date, many police officers did not follow constitutional requirements. They could freely
search individuals and households and seize evidence without appropriate warrants. Needless to say,
that such poor performance resulted in illegal arrests and unjust prosecutions of innocent people. One
of such cases had become a landmark and initiated the long process of reforms in regard to the Fourth
Amendment and police conduct. The Supreme Court articulation of the exclusionary rule has come in
Weeks v. United States case in 1914. That case has changed the Fourth Amendment and related laws
forever. The defendant, Mr. Freemont Weeks was convicted based on the evidence illegally seized
from him during the warrantless search. The appeal was initiated by the defense attorney, thus
bringing the case to the attention of the highest Court. The United

Using Alternatives Sources Of Energy
Up until a few years ago, we used to exploit fossil fuels for almost all of our needs (heating,
transportation, etc.) without thinking if there are enough supplies or even about their negative effects
their emissions cause to the environment. According to many scientific investigations our fossil fuel
resources (oil, coal and gas) are running out, furthermore their emissions pollute the environment and
contribute to the greenhouse effect. Undoubtedly, these situations as well as the fact that the demand
for electricity is increasing more and more globally made us thinking about using alternatives sources
of energy. Many possible fuels are being tested at the moment in order to find which one is the most
suitable in terms of efficiency, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the fact that things seemed to run smoothly, in 1973 when the oil crisis began, nuclear
industry had to face environmental issues which made the construction of power stations such an
expensive deal. Nowadays, nuclear power seem to be more promising than ever due to the increased
demand of electricity. After many investigations experts have determined that there are two ways that
nuclear power can be utilized. The first way is called Nuclear Fission , this way is mainly used in
power stations, uranium and other heavy elements are used as fuels. By its reaction heavy cores
separate into medium sized cores, where energy is released. The following figure shows how much
electricity was generated in 6 countries by nuclear power in 2007.
The second way that nuclear power can utilizes is called Nuclear Fusion , this way needs more
investigation in order to be applied in power stations. Hydrogen and other light elements would be
used as fuels and from its reaction fuse light cores are converted into medium sized cores, where
energy is released. Nuclear Fusion s 2 most promising reactions are the DT reaction, which fuses
deuterium (heavy isotope of hydrogen) with tritium (heavier isotope of hydrogen), making Helium
(light monoatomic gas) and the DD reaction, which fuses deuterium with deuterium. Despite their
different operations both fission and

Theme Of Masculinity In The Lais Of Marie De France
Masculinity is represented in various ways within The Lais of Marie de France. Masculinity is
sometimes depicted in untraditional ways through animal representation, the dominance of women,
and in negative a light through the prideful and selfish acts of the male characters. The qualities,
which are often seen as manly, are quite apparent in an animalistic form of masculinity in the deer in
Guigemar, in comparison to the female lover. The women in Lanval show a sense of manhood in their
authority and power over the situations of the story. Les Deus Amanz tells a poignant story of two
men, and how their over masculine traits of pride, jealousy, and possessiveness lead them to the exact
places in which they were avoiding all along. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is represented here when the king, ...entered the queen s apartments and when she saw him, she
complained aloud, fell at his feet, cried for mercy and said that Lanval had shamed her (77). After the
queen offers herself and attempts to throw herself at Lanval, he denies her because of his new fairy
like lover. Once the king walks in the queen victimizes herself as soon as she sets eyes on him. Her
ability to completely transform herself at the sight of her husband and manipulate his thoughts to her
favor shows the power of women. In showing her weakness by falling to her feet and putting herself in
a vulnerable position, she is ultimately taking the power into her own hands. With his wife in this
state, the king feels an obligation to protect her by punishing whoever did her wrong. In reaction to the
queen s account of what Lanval has done, The king grew very angry and swore on oath that, if Lanval
could not defend himself in court, he would have him burned or hanged (77). This is a significant act
because it displays the control a woman has in a relationship, It also demonstrates how a dominant
feminist character influences her male counterpart s masculinity and gives it purpose within a

Define Mistaken Behavior
Assignment 1. Define mistaken behavior and misbehavior . Compare and contrast the two, and explain
the value in having an understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and how can help
teachers guide young children?
Mistaken Behaviors
Mistaking behavior is a comprehensive guidance that professional teachers are developing to assist
children through difficult situations. This guidance approach recognizes that children are in a process
of development where they are learning skills to live in a democratic life, during this process children
has many mistakes that are reflected at their behavior. The importance of this this concept is that
teachers can understand that children can make mistakes, and they can learn from them. Instead,
teachers and caregivers are the principal guidance for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe they feel hungry, sick or tired. They have lack knowledge or experience. They feel stressed
(something wrong or new is happening at house).
Misbehavior
This discipline concept suggests that the children are doing intentional mistakes and teachers must
discipline and punish to the child. At this wrong guidance teachers label children who misbehave
calling names such as naughty bad mean rowdy , and also punish the child. Teachers who do this
practice think that when the child get shame they will be behave good. These negative labels can
affect with bad consequences to their behavior. The child will believe that they are the wrong label
given.
As Ginott wrote in Teacher and Child (1972), Firmness without harshness is essential in guidance. The
adult who intervenes in the face of mistaken behavior often must be firm, but must be firm and
friendly not firm and harsh . The goal is to help children learn positive social skills from their
mistakes; punish discipline cannot achieve this.

Title: An Introduction to Cosplay
Specific Speech Purpose: To share to my audience about the cosplay scene in the Philippines and
answer inquiries in their minds about cosplay.
Statement: Cosplay s popularity growth is fast and there are lot of questions in the mind of people
about cosplay. It s meaning and reason varies from person to person and there are negativities to it.
Introduction
Attention Step: Cosplay. I know a lot of you have in mind, what is it with cosplay? What do people get
from wearing costumes like this and cosplaying? Well, congratulations because today, I give you a
mini introduction to cosplaying which involves it s meaning, reasons why we cosplay, and the

Back in high school, and until now, I m known by my classmates and friends as the only one who
cosplays in our class. Somehow it gives me the identity of hey, she s the cosplayer girl from this block
and it becomes a sort of label to me. And sometimes, this label boost up my confidence and self
esteem because of my uniqueness in that way, knowing I can do stuffs people don t normally do.
C. Cosplay gives fun and excitement to people, making it become a hobby for some.
The third reason for cosplaying is that it gives fun and excitement to people, and some of them make it
a hobby. Back at my first exposure to a cosplay convention, I was amazed at how the characters that I
was just watching at tv, are actually in front of me in real life, I m like Woooaaahh cool! and so I
became interested in cosplaying. Plus, when you really like, or even love something, you really enjoy
what you re doing and you re excited about it.
D. Going to cosplay conventions or events becomes a form of relaxation and detox for them during
their free time.
The fourth reason why some people cosplay or go to conventions is that it makes them feel relaxed,
especially when they re enjoying, and this somehow becomes their detox actvity during their free
time. I mean, going out of those tiring school stuffs, or even work, because cosplay is not limited to
teenagers only, and rather than staying home, they unstress themselves by going to events.

Discrimination In The Hunger Of Memory, By Richard Rodriguez
Nobody ever gets remembered for displaying uniformity in their race, culture, and actions. Too often
in today s society are people scared to pursue their passion due to the stereotypes assigned by normal
people. In the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory, by Richard Rodriguez, and the short story
Superman and Me , by Sherman Alexie both authors face situations where they have to make a choice
to stand out or concur to the stereotypes associated with each of their cultures. While the excerpt from
The Hunger of Memory discusses the difficulties of sticking out as an intelligent Indian man and
Superman and Me discusses the hardships of not adhering to normal Indian standards as a kid growing
up, likewise both stories share a theme of overcoming hardships and eventually helping others.
In the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory Rodriguez faced adversity early on in his life. As a little
kid he described himself to be a socially disadvantaged child (Rodriguez 1). This was due to the
...extreme public alienation he and his family faced (Rodriguez 1). Being Native American in today s
society makes one stick out like a sore thumb. Discrimination is still very much alive today.
Assimilating what it s like to be any race other than caucasian is a task that we are too inadequate to
imagine. Following a passion will in some cases require losing things in return. Instead of pursuing a
regular job Rodriguez stuck to writing. When he began this book the ...words wouldn t come

sacrifice proved to be nothing to him as writing was his life. His choice to persevere subsequently led
him to towns such New York, Los Angeles, and even a cocktail party in Bel Air! With all this being
said his works eventually led to non existent relationship with his parents. This really affects
Rodriguez emotionally as he says the separation I endure with my parents is a loss (Rodriguez 2). His
parents ridiculed his decisions and that ultimately led to the absent relationship.
Superman and Me showed Sherman Alexie s willingness to learn. He ...learned to read with a

There are over one hundred species of strawberries around the world. Some of the most popular
strawberry varieties include Honeoye, Earliglow, Allstar, Ozark Beauty, and Chandler. All of these
strawberries, except for Ozark Beauty (which is an overbearing strawberry), belong to the June
bearing group. ( Strawberry Species, 2011) There are over six hundred varieties of strawberries world
wide. (Nutritional Breakdown, 2016) A soil science expert named Margaret Reeves whom has a PhD
says that strawberries contain methyl bromide, chloropicrin, and telone. These types of chemicals can
lead to cancer. (The Dark Side of Strawberries, 2013) Pesticides are toxic substances that kill living
things intentionally. Pesticides found in strawberries are pyraclostrobin, captan, fenhexamid, boscalid,
fludioxonil, cyprodinil, etc. ( Strawberries (no date) ) Strawberries are the only fruits to have their
seeds on the outside and on their skin. Also, Strawberries contain high levels of nitrate . For this
reason, strawberries increase oxygen and blow flow throughout the body. ( Strawberry Seeds, 2013 )
Strawberries can prevent and even suppress cancer cells. Back when colonists first began to journey
through America, Native Americans introduced these colonists to strawberries when they gave them
the crushed berries mixed with cornmeal and baked into bread. This is how the idea of Strawberry
Shortcakes came to be. Health wise, eating eight strawberries a day can improve heart health,

Examples Of Flashbacks In Toni Morrison s Beloved
Beloved: How the Past Affects a Person
Beloved is full of intense scenes that leave readers on the edge of their seats wondering what will
happen next. Some of the most powerful scenes are flashbacks, past experiences that characters come
face to face with. What makes these flashbacks so important is that they help make the reader
understand why the characters interact with each other the way they do. In Beloved, Toni Morrison
uses a loose structure and weaves flashbacks into everyday life to create a connection through which
readers can better understand the character s past.
In the beginning of the novel, the reader is introduced to the idea of flashbacks, which remain short
and are intertwined seamlessly within the text. The readers learn to be active when reading, and also
pay close attention to the details within the flashbacks to learn more about the characters that their past
lives.
The most significant flashbacks in Part One are when the reader learns about Sethe s past, and how
she killed her crawling already? baby. Inside, two boys bled in the sawdust at the feet of a nigger
woman holding a blood soaked child to her chest with one hand and an infant by the heels in the other
(Morrison 175). Here is where the reader first learns how the crawling already baby dies: Sethe killed
her and attempted to kill the rest of the children. When Sethe saw the schoolteacher, she ran to the
shed to try to save her children from slavery. She tried to make the ultimate sacrifice

The Physical Pain, Mental Suffering, and Moral Wickedness...
Evil refers to physical pain, mental suffering and moral wickedness. This pain includes such major
scourges as poverty, oppression, persecution, war, all injustice, indignity and inequality that occur in
human societies. It is however, important to note that although a great deal of pain and suffering are
caused by human action, there is much more that arises from natural causes as bacteria and
earthquakes, storm, fire, lightening, flood and drought. Another type of evil that can be identified is
mental evil. Evil in Plutonian sense is referred to as the absence of Good and Perfection. In this state
of nothingness, as regarded the process of necessary emanation from the One, evil precedes from
matter. Matter is the principle of Evil (Stump 134). From the matter, Evil is considered as the stage
where irrationality or lack of perfection prevails, Evil in the Plutonian differs from African
understanding of Evil. In African point of view Evil is considered as the lack of good between the
individuals and always is associated with devil and not only a state of nothingness as defined by
Plotinus. Evil is associated with the devil; it is a rival god that contends conflict with the good gods.
Plotinus describe evil as the lack of something lack of perfection; lack of forms for the material body
(formless), which is not in itself essentially evil. The descent of the soul to matter or material body
makes the soul vulnerable to the inclinations of Evil. It can also be explained as

The Definition Of Marriage And Family Relationships Essay
What is the definition of marriage in the Bible? Better yet what is the definition of family in the Bible?
In Scripture there are many families which could be studied in order to better answer this question, but
some of the most prominent choices are Abraham s family, David s family, and Solomon s family.
Each of these families in turn had their own sets of issues and problems, but there are also Biblical
solutions to these problems which shall be address through the course of this paper. But, before this is
done it is important to take note of what God s definitions are.
To begin, I will start by explaining what my understanding of marriage and family relationships
according to scripture are supposed to look like. Now, throughout both the Old Testament and New
Testament many commandments are given to both children and parents. For instance, one of the most
obvious commands given to children was, Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live
long in the land the Lord your God is giving you, (Ex. 20:12, New International Version (NIV)). To
honor someone means to treat him or her with respect and put them in a place of high esteem. Honor
and respect means a child should not speak back to their parents, they should not curse out their
parents in any way, and in general they should respect their parents wishes. But, going further than
this Colossians 3:20 says, Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord, (Col.
3:20, NIV).

Stereotypes In African American Films
Throughout this chapter, Korgen main arguments pertained to the media s portrayal of Black and
White biracial characters in movies. Typically the media portrays people with lighter skin to have
more positive characteristics while people with darker skin more negative characteristics. Media is
one first place young children get these images from and it can have a huge impression on them
without even knowing it. They are placed within this social class of existence. Viewers tend to pay the
most attention to characters who share their age, race, and gender and those they wish they could be
like (Korgen, 2010, pg. 89). Biracial Americans go through the toughest scrutiny by both races on
whether they fit into either group. I know my brother and sister have this issue from the time they
were little especially my sister, she is lighter skinned and was never truly accepted by the black or
white girls at school.
On the other hand, the media tends to act as if race does not matter that it is something from the past.
Our society is often portrayed as color blind, a place in which racism does not exist, and where race is
not important (Korgen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s no secret that since the beginning of America s history, media has played a huge role in how we
perceive people, especially in Hollywood. For instance, the majority of box office hits over the last
century have featured all white casts. Yet the ones predominantly featuring African Americans, rarely
become a box office success. I believe that racism and white supremacy in the media are so entangled
into the core of America s culture that they have become virtually unrecognizable. We as the
consumers don t even realize that having these images constantly being thrown at us is hurting people.
The fact that since the Civil Rights Act over 50 years ago we are still fighting for equality, says a lot
about just how far we still have to

The Culture Of Geek Culture
Globalization has intertwined us up to the point where the whole world has become one entity.
Consequently, different cultures have been integrated to what we today known as popular culture. The
Internet has converted everything instantly viral like movies, series, book sagas, comics, anime and
video games. There is no place on social media where you cannot feel identified with someone with an
affinity of your resemblance. Today, being a geek is not an oddity, to the contrary, being a geek has
become part of pop culture up to the point where it has turned into a part of our identity. As the
evolution of technology has connected identities from all around the world, geek culture has created a
network of individuals with mutual values in spite of their race, ethnicity and cultural traditions.
Before the internet became the network that we know today, geek was a term that our society looked
down upon. Geek used to be related to people who had knowledge about technology, in other words
those who were classified as nerds . These kind of classifications were seen as a bad characteristic.
Being a geek made you an outcast, geeks and nerds couldn t even think of being accepted into the
popular groups due to their weird personalities and preferences. Nevertheless, as technology evolved
and the creation of the Internet interconnected our world, the word geek has been deconstructed up to
the point where its past meaning makes no relevance to today s definition. Geek, as today s

How Media Affects Electronic Media
With the increase in use of various electronic media, such as television, computers, video games,
mobile telephones and audio devices, it is becoming increasingly important to investigate how media
use is affecting individuals lifestyles. In 2011, the National Sleep Foundation published the results of a
poll they conducted regarding the sleep habits of Americans across the country. They surveyed over
1000 adults asking general questions about their routine before bed and while asleep. This pie chart
here on the left, was taken directly from the official report. The participants were asked whether they
used a laptop or computer an hour before going to sleep and how many nights a week on average, they
used it. Overall, 61% of people use a laptop most nights a week in that 1 hour before their bedtime.
And that is broken down into, whether the laptop is used in the bedroom or outside in another room.
Of which, 36% use in the bedroom. In the electromagnetic spectrum, the shorter the wavelength of __

when compared to red light and thus, is higher in energy. Many electronic devices that emit light, tend
to be short wavelength enriched, which means it has a higher concentration of blue light. Blue light
tends to be very harmful because it reaches deep into the eyes and hits the retina and tends to scatter,
so it creates blurred images, which leads to eye strain. The retina in

Comparing Cardoso s Scholarship And Statesmanship
In Fernando Henrique Cardoso s article Scholarship and Statesmanship, published in the Journal of
Democracy Volume 12, Number 2 (April 2005), Cardoso writes about the relationship between values
and politics. Using reasoning by example, he makes this case that Ideas are to be understood in light
of the circumstances that they are meant to explain and address. Only then can we put ideas to work
for our chosen causes . In the following paragraphs the above will be summarized and criticized by
myself.
Cardoso starts off by introducing Professor Seymour Martin Lipset and their work together in the field
of sociology. He continues on to giving an example of how when modernizing, traditions did not have
to be abandoned, but could be merged together; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today s motto is not what to do, but how to do it in the most efficient and cost effective manner
possible. (paragraph 12). This does not mean one must disregard values, it just implies that values
must be mixed with efficiency. Policies are difficult work because one must work in all the pre
existing demands as well as try to include the many inputs available. Technical knowledge furthers our
ability to do so, positively impacting our state and society. There are, however, many different ways
this can take us. At a time, during the Enlightenment, markets were considered to be able to be used as
a tool for building a better world of peace, prosperity, and civilized refinement. Although as time
passed and we dove into the Industrial Revolution it began to be portrayed as a locus of violence and
oppression (paragraph 16). Cardoso continues on to discuss the rise and fall of the market s image to
the public s eye. This then brings us to Cardoso s statement, Ideas are to be understood in light of the
circumstances that they are meant to explain and address. Only then can we put ideas to work for our
chosen causes (paragraph 17). An appropriate method, in other words, will produce an appropriate
result , Cardoso exclaims (paragraph 18).
Statesmanship and political judgement is where Cardoso leads us next. To be a well rounded

Descriptive Essay About Capitola
The town of Capitola is a small city in Santa Cruz, California on the coast of Monterey Bay. The town
itself consists of the downtown, the neighborhoods, and most importantly the beach! The town of
Capitola only has a population of 10, 180 people (2016), but it is a perfect place to go for a vacation.
Capitola is one of my favorite places to go. I love the small, colorful town and the beach is calm and
relaxing. In Capitola, there are many things to see, hear, smell, touch, and taste. You can use your five
senses for everything around you!
Sight
There is a lot to see in Capitola, CA! Beaches, Sand, and People are all things you can see around you,
but there is also much much MUCH more to see! As you look around the town, you can see some
things that you may see in other places such as restaurants, people, cars, and bikes. But there are also
things in the town that are unique to only Capitola. This includes some of my favorite buildings in
Capitola. There are about 21 buildings all in a row, with some up top and others below. What I like
about these buildings is that they are very colorful. Every one of the buildings is a different color.
These colors include: Orange, Red, Dark Orange, Yellow, Sky Blue, Lime Green, Bright Pink, Dark
Blue, and Teal. Another cool thing about these buildings is that there is a small lagoon of water right
in front of the buildings, which adds to what the houses look like when you look at them from afar.

spinning wheel. He called it the spinning jenny in honor of his wife. This simple machine allowed one
spinner to work six or eight threads at a time. (course reader 102) The Spinning Jenny was a machine

With the development of cities the working class ended up living in low income slums. Friedrich
Engels stated in The Condition of the Working Class in England, Every great town had one or more

living conditions such as infected water and poor ventilation, which effected the life span of the

Manipulation Of Digital Photography And Fashion Photography
The aim of this research project is to look at Manipulation in Digital Photography and in Fashion
Photography, before and after Adobe Photoshop was invented. The term Photoshop is commonly used
as expression to denote the manipulation of images and will be used in this context throughout this
research project. Photoshop is one of the biggest known software used to edit photographs and as such
plays a vital role in photography. Over the years Photoshop has changed drastically and this study will
look at the reasons that have contributed to the evolvment of this particular editing software. There
will also be further exploration into how far Digital Photography and Fashion Photography go into
manipulating their images. So, what is Digital Photography? Digital photography is The art and
science of producing and manipulating photographs photographs that are represented as bit maps.
(Beal, 2015) Digital photos can be produced in number of different ways such as: by taking an actual
picture using a Digital Camera, and by scanning in any printed photographic images. Once the
photograph is digital it turns into digital format such as JPEG or RAW format; this is when the
pictures can be edited using software such as Photoshop. People who may not be as adept and
competent in the art of photography often rely on such softwares, when taking a good picture, as a
mean to edit their picture to make it appear more professional. An example of this could be defined as

The Main Changes That the Paramount Decree Effected on the...
Outline the main changes the paramount decree effected on the structure of the American film industry
and discuss the measures the ex studios took to remain in control of the film market.
The period of the 1920 s to 1950 s where known as the studio era in Hollywood. A few major
companies monopolized the industry through vertical integration when the film companies controlled
all production distribution and exhibition. The majors determined which movies were shown in which
theatres, choosing their own over others. The theatres were often palaces, about spectacle and a night
out more than the movie itself. Marcus Loew said , we sell tickets to theatres, not movies (pg 113 ,
Hollywood cinema, Maltby R, 2003). The majors forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They took on more responsibility and had more time to work on the production. since the late 1960s it
has been common for directors to average only one feature every year and a half , two years , whereas
at the height of the studio system, a John Ford or George Cukor might regularly have made two or
even three major features a year. There were serious implications for the way in which directors
learned their craft. (pg9 Hillier J , 1992, The New Hollywood). Independent film production increased
the importance of agents in the system. After contracts were dropped, staff went to agents who
brought them together with a script and a director and a package to studios, for film projects. by the
1960s two thirds of films being made were pre packaged by agents .Agents continued to grow in
importance to such an extent that by the 1980s, Michael Ovitz, president of CAA, was being the single
most influential person in the movie industry , (pg9 Hillier J , 1992, The New Hollywood). With fewer
films in production after the Paramount decree , there were fewer films to maintain the profitability
balance and offset losses, as a result there was a need for greater profits. Blockbusters became the
industries idea of sure fire profit . New technologies were utilized in order to make cinema something
new and exciting. In order to compete with the increasing loss of audience to television, studios

Advantages Of The Uppsmala Model Of Internationalization
The following section will deal with the classical theories given by various experts to explicitly
explain how a firm should internationalize in foreign markets:
The classical UPPSALA model
Uppsala model was developed by Swedish researchers in late 70 s by Johanson Wiedersheim paul and
Johanson Vahlne. They argued and critize the existing theories of those times which dealt with
internationalization of companies. They developed this model of internationalization which focuses on
an individual firm, its particular acquisitions, integration and using knowledge of the foreign markets
and its operations. The existing theories of those times only induces the model to eliminate cultural
barriers while going international but no foundation was led to formulate the handling of internal
activities of the companies when they go international. Following their argument, they came up with
their own model which was more independent and explained the procedure of internationalization of a
company. The model was developed on the empirical study of four different manufactures and their
work (Johanson Vahlne, 1977).
During their development of this model they observed that, usually firms make a first move into their
nearby markets and they called it as a psychic distance . This was mainly due to ... Show more content

This new model included affective and cognitive elements, relationships, trust, commitments building
and pre requisites to be international. With the changes in business environment, business relations
can be considered as connections, a network rather than a market of independent suppliers and
customers. The new model has two important elements i.e. state and change variables and depicts
dynamics, cumulative process, commitment development and building of trust to strengthen firm s
position in a network. (Johanson Vahlne,

The Evolution Of Human Speech
The Evolution of Human Speech
As human we can communicate via our speaking ability to express our feelings, as a way to deliver
the message we want another. These articles that I read discuss the anatomical prerequisite for humans
to gain the ability to speak such as the absent and present of the air sac in hominids. Morphological
changes of the face structure such as the reduced growth of the palate and the descent of the larynx.
The controversial hypotheses of the hypoglossal canal size are indicative of speech, and modern
humans have a larger hypoglossal canal size compare to other hominids were examined. These are just
the anatomical aspects of the possible contribution to the human speech.
The first paper, the study done by Bart de Boer involves the loss of air sacs serves as possible
evidence to why modern humans can produce complex language. The fact that air sacs are present in
apes and absent in modern humans and Homo neandethalensis is the interesting piece to why we and
the Neandethal are capable speak to speak and the others cannot. To investigate further to see how
early humans and Homo neandethalensis did not have air sacs, an experiment was set up using a
hearing procedure to show if air sacs reduce the perceptual effect of vowel articulations (de Boer
2012). The methods for this study were done by 22 human participants were gathered in a soundproof
room and have them listen to the different vowels produce through the air tubes with or without air

The Theories Of Law That Apply Strict Product Liability...
In this court case there are two theories of Law that Apply, Strict product liability and negligence.
These theories were originally applied under Delaware law in the case, Stark ex re. Jacobsen V. Ford
Motor Co. Thus raising the inquiry of how these theories may have varied had the case s venue been
located in Indiana. According to the West s Indiana Law Encyclopedia, In Strict Liability actions, the
plaintiff must prove that (1) the product was defective and unreasonably dangerous, (2) the defective
condition existed at the time the product left the defendant s control, and (3) the defective condition
was the proximate cause of the plaintiff s injuries 27 Ind. Law Encyc. Generally ss 10 (2002). All
three of these conditions must be met in order for strict liability to be present. The first condition the
product must be defective and unreasonably dangerous entails that the product in some manner does
not operate as it was intended and due to the defect the product poses a threat to the well being of
whomever uses it. The requirement that the defective condition existed at the time of the purchase is
important because it requires the product to have been defective when bought, not due to improper use
by the purchaser. Finally, for strict liability to exist the defective condition must have caused the
plaintiff to suffer an injury. West s Indiana Law encyclopedia states that, A product may be defective

Chapter 2: The first link
PART 1 This is the world we made.
25 years ago:
The crunch of foliage under his boots was the only sound for miles, as the knight Siegfried marched
through the woodlands on a lone patrol. His sword was sheathed and on his hip as he pushed aside
bushes and low hanging branches. Blasted nettles he cursed as he pushed through a bush, relying on
his steel armor to protect him. Why do they even send us on patrol anyway? He rambled to himself
Every evil thing that crawls, walks, slithers, swims or flies on this planet has been quiet.
He was jolted out of his thoughts by a piercing scream that echoed throughout the woodlands and in
three seconds, just like he was trained: his sword was out, his shield was in his right hand, and his
visor was down. This was done as a second scream pierced his ears. Siegfried ran in the direction of
the scream knocking bushes and vines away with his weapons.
The scream came from a young elven woman, who currently was surrounded by a pack of trolls and
they snarled at her and waved their weapons in her direction. The elven woman was covered in bruises
and was struggling to stand on her legs. She held a dagger in a shaky hand with fear written on her
pretty features.

Mean Men Case Study
CHAPTER FOUR The Mainstreaming of Mean Mean men are hardly a new phenomenon, and the
tyrannical boss has been a familiar archetype in American culture ever since the invention of the
modern industrial era workplace. In fact, in many ways organizational culture is far more touchy feely
now than it used to be much as corporeal punishment in schools is out, along with spanking your kids.
Yet powerful forces have been at work in American society that have fueled bad behavior in high
places, allowing more mean men to get to the top and stay there, even as they create misery all around
them. These forces can be roughly divided in two baskets: first, thanks to changes in the economy and
business, men can rise to leadership roles without having to pay their dues in large organizations and
having their rough edges sanded down along the way. Second, thanks to a combination of economic
and cultural changes, men feel more license to exhibit outsized personality traits, including very
negative ones, and can more easily get away with bad behavior as long as they get results. Let s dig

The Conflict Of The Congo
In the year 1876, King Leopold II of Belgium began to display an interest in the civilization mission in
Africa. The documents on European Imperialism provide evidence for how the individuals in the
Congo are being exploited for European benefit, under the profit making aim of King Leopold II.
European brutality in the Congo was the logical result of the European desire to implement proper
civilization in the Congo, albeit through a lack of cultural understanding and compassion towards the
people of Congo. First, the document Selections from the 1885 Berlin Act (Treaty) was an outline to
the European people that King Leopold II had good intentions for his mission in the Congo. However,
it depicted the contradiction of what his true intentions were and what had actually occurred. King
Leopold outlined six Declarations for what he desired to change for the Congo. Leopold stated, for
instance, his desire to create a change in the freedom of trade for the people of the Congo, as well the
creation of a Declaration relative to the slave trade, and the operations by sea or land which furnish
slaves to that trade. These Declarations relate to the thesis of how the Europeans were directed in a
way to think it was logical to create a change in the significant issues in the Congo. The Europeans
were lead to believe these six Declarations would benefit the civilization of the Congo, by doing no
harm. In actual fact. Leopold fails to point out how he intends to follow

knew exactly what He was doing when he sent many signs from heaven including the prophets and
even His own Son to show us the way. He wanted to create a relationship with us and to make us more
like him. He wanted to establish a Church in which we could worship and remember Him for all
eternity, and he did just that. Through the Church and God s only Son, Jesus, we are able to prevail
like the Church has for generations. How exactly is it that the Church

Waiting For Guffman
These past two weeks, while the theatre has been relatively calm, I chose three different pieces of
media in order to delve further into my theater knowledge. The first of which is Waiting for Guffman ,
a mockumentary on the beginning of a theater company in Blaine, Missouri. The town s resident
director, Corky St. Clair, and the amateur cast of a corny small town musical production go overboard
when they hear that Mr. Guffman, representative of the prestigious New York based Oppenheimer
Organization, will be in attendance. This film was a suggestion from my mentor, Ms. Hawkins,
because it relates to many of the experiences I ve had in my third space. For example, the cast have to
go around town promoting the show in order to get people to ... Show more content on

It is tough to not be your biggest critic, but it is better to leave that job to others. Also, actors should
treat auditions like rehearsals, as if you already have the role and are going to rehearsal. Apparently
this is a commonly used tactic that many actors use to keep calm in an audition setting. Another tip
was that if you risk failure, you can make truthful discoveries about yourself or a character. Failures
become the struggles that lead to success; the word, failure, carries more weight than it should, and
most failures are actually setbacks. The only time you truly fail is when you quit because you become
incapable of success. The final piece of advice that I found helpful was to find other creative outlets.
In a field like acting, the majority of the job is going to auditions and waiting. Therefore, it becomes
imperative that you find ways to use your creativity, rather than waiting around for someone to give
you a part. Writing your own material can showcase yourself well, especially if you do not have
representation. It is ok to get a little lost, to ask yourself deep questions, and to not have all the
answers. What matters most is that you never lose sight of your

High School Sports Module Analysis
Do you ever, as an athlete, parent, or fan of Iowa high school sports, want to watch the state high
school sporting events? Because it is well known that the northwest corner of Iowa tends to field the
better sports teams and athletes of the state, typically there is usually quite a few teams representing
the area during the state tournament. When a local team or athlete makes it to state, a group of people
will either go and watch in person, or try to see if the event is being broadcasted on television. Often
the people that can t make the trip to watch in person, like local people, family members, or even high
school athletes themselves, will check if it is on television (Byers 1). Starting during the 2016 2017
academic year, the Iowa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s a question I m sure many people had over the football, wrestling, and basketball state
tournament championships. I ll go into more detail about the CSN Chicago deal with the help of my
interview with Scott Byers. In order to watch the channel CSN Chicago, you need to either live in the
area that your local cable company offers it, or have Dish Network or DirecTV. Like I said earlier,
about 90% of the area that does offer the channel is in the eastern part of Iowa. So if you live on the
western side, and don t have either Dish Network or DirecTV, you are basically out of luck. The local
cable companies could get CSN Chicago into their package but with Northwest Iowa so far away from
Chicago, almost none in this area do. It makes sense not to get the channel only if you want it to watch
IHSAA state events. Scott Byers asked the head of the local cable company in Sioux Center about it
and he said picking up CSN Chicago for three years would cost his company well over a million
dollars. Instead of people on the Eastern side of Iowa, the Northwest Iowa people get to watch Fox
Sports North which shows the Minnesota teams like the Twins and Timberwolves. Next, people might
wonder if this really has to go on for the full three years. Well, I found that answer too in my
interview. Scott said, Most contracts can be broken, but it becomes a legal matter at that point and will
cost whatever the lawyers come up with in negotiations. Generally,

Analysis Of The Treasure Of Lemon Brown
In the realistic fiction story, The Treasure of Lemon Brown by Walter Dean Myers, Greg Ridley a
fourteen year old boy, starts off by getting a lecture from his dad, about his poor grades in math. Greg
is upset and he walks away from his house to get some alone time. As Greg is walking, a rainstorm
strikes. While he is trying to find shelter, he comes upon an abandoned apartment complex. As Greg
walks in he finds out that he isn t the only one in the apartment, an old man named Lemon Brown is
also there. Lemon is there for a different reason though. He is trying to hide his treasure, an old
harmonica, from the neighborhood thugs. The thugs weren t successful in getting Lemon s treasure.
Greg returns home with a valuable lesson learned, that he should value things in life. Greg changes
from the beginning of the story to the end of the story. At the beginning, Greg was careless about his
grades in math. Next, he was curious when looking for a place to hide from the rain. Lastly, he ends
the story off by being a caring person when he continuously asked Lemon Brown if he was okay. Greg
Ridley was a dynamic character who changed from careless, to curious, to caring, after his encounters
with Lemon Brown.
In the book, The Treasure of Lemon Brown Greg Ridley was a careless boy. On page 1 it states, But
the principal had ended the suspense early when she sent the letter saying, that Greg would probably
fail math if he didn t spend more time studying. He was careless because

Starion Entrepreneurship Case Analysis
M3786 NEW VENTURE PLANNING SAMPLE CASE ANALYSIS REPORT
STARION ENTREPRENEURSHIP SAMPLE CASE ANALYSIS REPORT
Starion Instruments, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA is a private company with core IP assets based
on the exclusive license of groundbreaking medical research in the field of laser tissue welding.
Starion hopes to revolutionize the electrosurgical field with the introduction of products like its
cautery forceps used for cutting and sealing (cauterizing) tissue. The overall annual market for these
types of medical devices is in excess of $1 billion. Furthermore, Starion s promising IP and continued
research goals will enable it to gain a significant foothold in the worldwide medical technology
industry with sales reaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is only with repeated use that they gain skill with a given device. Therefore, it is critical
that they see not only a cost advantage, but a significant increase in product performance in order for
considerable adoption to take place. Starion s choice to focus on the core buyer requirements
magnifies their intimate knowledge of the space and contributed greatly to the company s overall
success. The decision was made to concentrate on an open surgery strategy. Early adoption,
particularly for a small fish in a big pond, is critical to any start up. This direction, spearheaded by
management, was a deft decision for several reasons. The customer base in this field consists of an
end user with a complex hierarchy and buyer process. However, it is ultimately the end user s decision
which makes or breaks a product in this field. Therefore, the decision to launch the product for use in
open surgeries as opposed to laparoscopic procedures vastly increased the attractiveness to the early
adopter base. The open surgery tool strategy enabled doctors to rely on backwards compatibility (the
ability to simply fall back on the tried and true cut and suture method), another key point with
experimental tools and methods.
Prior to Starion s laser tissue welding breakthrough, the most common electrosurgical tool was the
monopolar device, also known as the Bovie device. With

Drafting And Negotiating Negative Covenants
[The Credit Agreement] [Representations, Warranties and Covenants] 1. Affirmative, Negative and
Financial Covenants 2. Drafting and Negotiating Negative Covenants (Credit Agreement) The
negative covenants and the related definitions are among the most heavily negotiated provisions in a
credit agreement. In order to get comfortable funding loans to a borrower, lenders require restrictions
on a borrower s operations that will hopefully help keep management on a path that will allow them to
repay the loans at maturity. Lenders also use the negative covenants as an early warning system that
forces borrowers to seek amendments from lenders before materially altering their business operations
in a way restricted by the covenants. By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, each negative covenant has the same basic structure: a general prohibition followed by
listed exceptions referred to as baskets or carve outs. The exceptions can be divided into exemptions
for specific types of transactions and general baskets that provide greater flexibility but are usually
subject to caps. The negotiation of negative covenants at the business level is often is focused on the
appropriate dollar caps and restrictions on the general baskets and any unique company specific
exceptions the borrower may request. There is no one suite of negative covenants and exceptions that
will work for every borrower and will need to draft customized exceptions where necessary to ensure
that the credit agreement allows the borrower to operate normally without constantly having to check
the credit agreement to make sure they have not inadvertently violated its terms. In negotiating the
exceptions, counsel for each of the borrower and the lenders should perform diligence to understand
the operational needs of the borrower as well as its capital structure and its near term plans for growth.
The arrangers will perform their own business and financial diligence to determine what protections
the lenders will need in order participate in the transaction and, ultimately, the arranger s view on what
is marketable at the proposed

  • 3. Rhetorical Speech In Tamburlaine The King By William... B orn only two months before Shakespeare and dead before he was thirty, Christopher Marlowe, considered to be the first English tragic poet, began and ended his literary work while Shakespeare was still at the beginning. His earliest tragedy, Tamburlaine the Great, was a path opener for the possibilities of Elizabethan tragedy. It was followed by other three tragedies, Dr Faustus, The Jew of Malta, and Edward II. In the prologue to his first piece, Tamburlaine, the playwright announced his intention to use in tragedy high astounding terms. Arrogantly, he denounced the jigging veins of rhyming mother wits who had previously been devoted to tragedy. In spite of his wide literary studies and sympathies, Marlowe was a rebel in essence. Classical And Modern Demographic Transition The demographic transition process involves two perspectives which are perceived as the guideline to nations around the world to contemplate the finest strategy in development, namely, classical and modern demographic theories. Demographic transition exists between the traditional societies which indicated by the high rate fertility and mortality and modern communities which have achieved the low level of fertility and mortality (Demeny in Fischer:2014). Due to the immediate growth of world population, government around the world enforce these both points of view to accelerate the equality in developing the societies. Legal Evolution of the Exclusionary Rule Essay The Constitution of the United States was designed to protect citizens civil rights from infringement by the government and law enforcement agencies. The Constitution guarantees that the civil liberties of the people of this country shall be respected and upheld. That fact is often considered to be common knowledge and taken for granted by the vast majority of the population. However it was not always that way. Despite the overwhelming significance of the rights protected and guaranteed by the Fourth Amendment, many questions and concerns existed regarding police and court procedures and practices. The most important of those questions was whether or not illegally obtained evidence could be used in courts. Before 1914, any evidence obtained by the police could be used in both Federal and State courts, regardless of any constitutional violations that might have taken place during the search and seizure of that evidence. Such practice has spawned multiple occurrences of police misconduct. Before that date, many police officers did not follow constitutional requirements. They could freely search individuals and households and seize evidence without appropriate warrants. Needless to say, that such poor performance resulted in illegal arrests and unjust prosecutions of innocent people. One of such cases had become a landmark and initiated the long process of reforms in regard to the Fourth Amendment and police conduct. The Supreme Court articulation of the exclusionary rule has come in Weeks v. United States case in 1914. That case has changed the Fourth Amendment and related laws forever. The defendant, Mr. Freemont Weeks was convicted based on the evidence illegally seized from him during the warrantless search. Using Alternatives Sources Of Energy Up until a few years ago, we used to exploit fossil fuels for almost all of our needs (heating, transportation, etc.) without thinking if there are enough supplies or even about their negative effects their emissions cause to the environment. According to many scientific investigations our fossil fuel resources (oil, coal and gas) are running out, furthermore their emissions pollute the environment and contribute to the greenhouse effect. After many investigations experts have determined that there are two ways that nuclear power can be utilized. The first way is called Nuclear Fission , this way is mainly used in power stations, uranium and other heavy elements are used as fuels. By its reaction heavy cores separate into medium sized cores, where energy is released. The following figure shows how much electricity was generated in 6 countries by nuclear power in 2007. The second way that nuclear power can utilizes is called Nuclear Fusion , this way needs more investigation in order to be applied in power stations. Hydrogen and other light elements would be used as fuels and from its reaction fuse light cores are converted into medium sized cores, where energy is released. Nuclear Fusion s 2 most promising reactions are the DT reaction, which fuses deuterium (heavy isotope of hydrogen) with tritium (heavier isotope of hydrogen), making Helium (light monoatomic gas) and the DD reaction, which fuses deuterium with deuterium. • 8. Theme Of Masculinity In The Lais Of Marie De France Masculinity is represented in various ways within The Lais of Marie de France. Masculinity is sometimes depicted in untraditional ways through animal representation, the dominance of women, and in negative a light through the prideful and selfish acts of the male characters. The qualities, which are often seen as manly, are quite apparent in an animalistic form of masculinity in the deer in Guigemar, in comparison to the female lover. The women in Lanval show a sense of manhood in their authority and power over the situations of the story. Once the king walks in the queen victimizes herself as soon as she sets eyes on him. In showing her weakness by falling to her feet and putting herself in a vulnerable position, she is ultimately taking the power into her own hands. With his wife in this state, the king feels an obligation to protect her by punishing whoever did her wrong. In reaction to the queen s account of what Lanval has done, The king grew very angry and swore on oath that, if Lanval could not defend himself in court, he would have him burned or hanged (77). Too often in today s society are people scared to pursue their passion due to the stereotypes assigned by normal people. In the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory, by Richard Rodriguez, and the short story Superman and Me , by Sherman Alexie both authors face situations where they have to make a choice to stand out or concur to the stereotypes associated with each of their cultures. While the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory discusses the difficulties of sticking out as an intelligent Indian man and Superman and Me discusses the hardships of not adhering to normal Indian standards as a kid growing up, likewise both stories share a theme of overcoming hardships and eventually helping others. In the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory Rodriguez faced adversity early on in his life. As a little kid he described himself to be a socially disadvantaged child (Rodriguez 1). This was due to the ...extreme public alienation he and his family faced (Rodriguez 1). Being Native American in today s society makes one stick out like a sore thumb. Examples Of Flashbacks In Toni Morrison s Beloved Beloved: How the Past Affects a Person Beloved is full of intense scenes that leave readers on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen next. Some of the most powerful scenes are flashbacks, past experiences that characters come face to face with. What makes these flashbacks so important is that they help make the reader understand why the characters interact with each other the way they do. In Beloved, Toni Morrison uses a loose structure and weaves flashbacks into everyday life to create a connection through which readers can better understand the character s past. In the beginning of the novel, the reader is introduced to the idea of flashbacks, which remain short and are intertwined seamlessly within the text. The readers learn to be active when reading, and also pay close attention to the details within the flashbacks to learn more about the characters that their past lives. • 18. The Physical Pain, Mental Suffering, and Moral Wickedness... Evil refers to physical pain, mental suffering and moral wickedness. This pain includes such major scourges as poverty, oppression, persecution, war, all injustice, indignity and inequality that occur in human societies. It is however, important to note that although a great deal of pain and suffering are caused by human action, there is much more that arises from natural causes as bacteria and earthquakes, storm, fire, lightening, flood and drought. Another type of evil that can be identified is mental evil. Evil in Plutonian sense is referred to as the absence of Good and Perfection. In this state of nothingness, as regarded the process of necessary emanation from the One, evil precedes from matter. Matter is the principle of Evil (Stump 134). From the matter, Evil is considered as the stage where irrationality or lack of perfection prevails, Evil in the Plutonian differs from African understanding of Evil. In African point of view Evil is considered as the lack of good between the individuals and always is associated with devil and not only a state of nothingness as defined by Plotinus. • 20. The Definition Of Marriage And Family Relationships Essay What is the definition of marriage in the Bible? Better yet what is the definition of family in the Bible? In Scripture there are many families which could be studied in order to better answer this question, but some of the most prominent choices are Abraham s family, David s family, and Solomon s family. Each of these families in turn had their own sets of issues and problems, but there are also Biblical solutions to these problems which shall be address through the course of this paper. But, before this is done it is important to take note of what God s definitions are. To begin, I will start by explaining what my understanding of marriage and family relationships according to scripture are supposed to look like. Now, throughout both the Old Testament and New Testament many commandments are given to both children and parents. For instance, one of the most obvious commands given to children was, Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you, (Ex. 20:12, New International Version (NIV)). To honor someone means to treat him or her with respect and put them in a place of high esteem. Honor and respect means a child should not speak back to their parents, they should not curse out their parents in any way, and in general they should respect their parents wishes. But, going further than this Colossians 3:20 says, Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord, (Col. 3:20, NIV). Children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Typically the media portrays people with lighter skin to have more positive characteristics while people with darker skin more negative characteristics. Media is one first place young children get these images from and it can have a huge impression on them without even knowing it. They are placed within this social class of existence. Viewers tend to pay the most attention to characters who share their age, race, and gender and those they wish they could be like (Korgen, 2010, pg. 89). Biracial Americans go through the toughest scrutiny by both races on whether they fit into either group. I know my brother and sister have this issue from the time they were little especially my sister, she is lighter skinned and was never truly accepted by the black or white girls at school. Advantages Of The Uppsmala Model Of Internationalization The following section will deal with the classical theories given by various experts to explicitly explain how a firm should internationalize in foreign markets: The classical UPPSALA model Uppsala model was developed by Swedish researchers in late 70 s by Johanson Wiedersheim paul and Johanson Vahlne. They argued and critize the existing theories of those times which dealt with internationalization of companies. They developed this model of internationalization which focuses on an individual firm, its particular acquisitions, integration and using knowledge of the foreign markets and its operations. The existing theories of those times only induces the model to eliminate cultural barriers while going international but no foundation was led to formulate the handling of internal activities of the companies when they go international. Following their argument, they came up with their own model which was more independent and explained the procedure of internationalization of a company. The model was developed on the empirical study of four different manufactures and their work (Johanson Vahlne, 1977). These theories were originally applied under Delaware law in the case, Stark ex re. Jacobsen V. Ford Motor Co. According to the West s Indiana Law Encyclopedia, In Strict Liability actions, the plaintiff must prove that (1) the product was defective and unreasonably dangerous, (2) the defective condition existed at the time the product left the defendant s control, and (3) the defective condition was the proximate cause of the plaintiff s injuries 27 Ind. The requirement that the defective condition existed at the time of the purchase is important because it requires the product to have been defective when bought, not due to improper use by the purchaser. However, it depicted the contradiction of what his true intentions were and what had actually occurred. King Leopold outlined six Declarations for what he desired to change for the Congo. Leopold stated, for instance, his desire to create a change in the freedom of trade for the people of the Congo, as well the creation of a Declaration relative to the slave trade, and the operations by sea or land which furnish slaves to that trade. These Declarations relate to the thesis of how the Europeans were directed in a way to think it was logical to create a change in the significant issues in the Congo. The Europeans were lead to believe these six Declarations would benefit the civilization of the Congo, by doing no harm. In actual fact. Leopold fails to point out how he intends to follow ... • 42. Spring Walleye Case Study John, Below I attached some numbers for you to look over. These numbers are on filling reels with line. I feel offering this service is vital to providing great customer service to our customers. With a Cabela s coming to our neighborhood it is also vital we retain and make money off as many customers that walk through the door ever day and keep them coming back. The numbers below give you a snapshot of the minimum investment on your part and minimum return in the 1st year. I feel these return numbers are very conservative. Point in case during the spring walleye run we could go through up to 3 spools of Power Pro in 8lb Yellow. Which is a potential gross profit of $1620 which will net us $1081.23 for a margin of 66.74% and thats before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Persecution Of Religion People have always asked why the Church has prevailed and grown when it has been persecuted for centuries. The only answer to this question is God. Had God not been behind the world s oldest ongoing and mighty institution we call the Church, it would have ceased to exist as we know it. God knew exactly what He was doing when he sent many signs from heaven including the prophets and even His own Son to show us the way. He wanted to create a relationship with us and to make us more like him. He wanted to establish a Church in which we could worship and remember Him for all eternity, and he did just that. Through the Church and God s only Son, Jesus, we are able to prevail like the Church has for generations. How exactly is it that the Church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Waiting For Guffman These past two weeks, while the theatre has been relatively calm, I chose three different pieces of media in order to delve further into my theater knowledge. The first of which is Waiting for Guffman , a mockumentary on the beginning of a theater company in Blaine, Missouri. The town s resident director, Corky St. Clair, and the amateur cast of a corny small town musical production go overboard when they hear that Mr. Guffman, representative of the prestigious New York based Oppenheimer Organization, will be in attendance. This film was a suggestion from my mentor, Ms. Hawkins, because it relates to many of the experiences I ve had in my third space. For example, the cast have to go around town promoting the show in order to get people to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is tough to not be your biggest critic, but it is better to leave that job to others. Also, actors should treat auditions like rehearsals, as if you already have the role and are going to rehearsal. Apparently this is a commonly used tactic that many actors use to keep calm in an audition setting. Another tip was that if you risk failure, you can make truthful discoveries about yourself or a character. Failures become the struggles that lead to success; the word, failure, carries more weight than it should, and most failures are actually setbacks. The only time you truly fail is when you quit because you become incapable of success. The final piece of advice that I found helpful was to find other creative outlets. In a field like acting, the majority of the job is going to auditions and waiting. Therefore, it becomes imperative that you find ways to use your creativity, rather than waiting around for someone to give you a part. Writing your own material can showcase yourself well, especially if you do not have representation. It is ok to get a little lost, to ask yourself deep questions, and to not have all the answers. What matters most is that you never lose sight of your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. High School Sports Module Analysis Do you ever, as an athlete, parent, or fan of Iowa high school sports, want to watch the state high school sporting events? Because it is well known that the northwest corner of Iowa tends to field the better sports teams and athletes of the state, typically there is usually quite a few teams representing the area during the state tournament. When a local team or athlete makes it to state, a group of people will either go and watch in person, or try to see if the event is being broadcasted on television. Often the people that can t make the trip to watch in person, like local people, family members, or even high school athletes themselves, will check if it is on television (Byers 1). Starting during the 2016 2017 academic year, the Iowa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s a question I m sure many people had over the football, wrestling, and basketball state tournament championships. I ll go into more detail about the CSN Chicago deal with the help of my interview with Scott Byers. In order to watch the channel CSN Chicago, you need to either live in the area that your local cable company offers it, or have Dish Network or DirecTV. Like I said earlier, about 90% of the area that does offer the channel is in the eastern part of Iowa. So if you live on the western side, and don t have either Dish Network or DirecTV, you are basically out of luck. The local cable companies could get CSN Chicago into their package but with Northwest Iowa so far away from Chicago, almost none in this area do. It makes sense not to get the channel only if you want it to watch IHSAA state events. Scott Byers asked the head of the local cable company in Sioux Center about it and he said picking up CSN Chicago for three years would cost his company well over a million dollars. Instead of people on the Eastern side of Iowa, the Northwest Iowa people get to watch Fox Sports North which shows the Minnesota teams like the Twins and Timberwolves. Next, people might wonder if this really has to go on for the full three years. Well, I found that answer too in my interview. Scott said, Most contracts can be broken, but it becomes a legal matter at that point and will cost whatever the lawyers come up with in negotiations. Generally, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Therefore, it is critical that they see not only a cost advantage, but a significant increase in product performance in order for considerable adoption to take place. Starion s choice to focus on the core buyer requirements magnifies their intimate knowledge of the space and contributed greatly to the company s overall success. The decision was made to concentrate on an open surgery strategy. Early adoption, particularly for a small fish in a big pond, is critical to any start up. This direction, spearheaded by management, was a deft decision for several reasons. The customer base in this field consists of an end user with a complex hierarchy and buyer process. However, it is ultimately the end user s decision which makes or breaks a product in this field. Therefore, the decision to launch the product for use in open surgeries as opposed to laparoscopic procedures vastly increased the attractiveness to the early adopter base. The open surgery tool strategy enabled doctors to rely on backwards compatibility (the ability to simply fall back on the tried and true cut and suture method), another key point with experimental tools and methods. Prior to Starion s laser tissue welding breakthrough, the most common electrosurgical tool was the monopolar device, also known as the Bovie device. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Drafting and Negotiating Negative Covenants (Credit Agreement) The negative covenants and the related definitions are among the most heavily negotiated provisions in a credit agreement. In order to get comfortable funding loans to a borrower, lenders require restrictions on a borrower s operations that will hopefully help keep management on a path that will allow them to repay the loans at maturity. Lenders also use the negative covenants as an early warning system that forces borrowers to seek amendments from lenders before materially altering their business operations in a way restricted by the covenants. By ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Generally, each negative covenant has the same basic structure: a general prohibition followed by listed exceptions referred to as baskets or carve outs. The exceptions can be divided into exemptions for specific types of transactions and general baskets that provide greater flexibility but are usually subject to caps. The negotiation of negative covenants at the business level is often is focused on the appropriate dollar caps and restrictions on the general baskets and any unique company specific exceptions the borrower may request. There is no one suite of negative covenants and exceptions that will work for every borrower and will need to draft customized exceptions where necessary to ensure that the credit agreement allows the borrower to operate normally without constantly having to check the credit agreement to make sure they have not inadvertently violated its terms. In negotiating the exceptions, counsel for each of the borrower and the lenders should perform diligence to understand the operational needs of the borrower as well as its capital structure and its near term plans for growth. The arrangers will perform their own business and financial diligence to determine what protections the lenders will need in order participate in the transaction and, ultimately, the arranger s view on what is marketable at the proposed ...
