Fossil Lagerstätten
A Fossil Lagerstätten is an undisturbed fossil accumulation in which fossils are exceptionally
preserved. There are two types of fossil lagerstätten: Concentration Lagerstätten (Konzentrat
Lagerstätten) and Conservation Lagerstätten (Konservat Lagerstätten). Concentration
Lagerstätten are deposits of an immense number of preserved fossils, whereas Conservation
Lagerstätten are the preservation of fossils in terms of quality rather than quantity (Nudds and
Selden, 2008). There might be few fossils in the rock strata, however, the preservation of these
are exemplary. There are many outcropping areas on Earth in which fossils are preserved like this.
One example of a group of strata that has retained fossils in this way is the Crato Formation.

(2016), the Araripe group would belong to the Aptian Albian Stages in the Lower CretaceousPeriod.
The Crato Formation lithologies were most likely deposited when there was a marine
transgression; which is what the Cretaceous period is renowned for (Hu et al. 2012). The build up
of laminated limestones and different lithologies in the stratigraphic column could suggest that it
was a lagoon depositional environment (Martill and Frey, 1998).
Fossil Assemblage
The most prominent fossils in the Crato Formation are the insects that are preserved. One
example of an insect that has been recently found is the Araripenymphes seldeni (as seen in figure

A.seldini is: Nymphidae Family Neuroptera Order, and Insecta Class (Myskowiak et al., 2016).
This particular species shows sexual dimorphism, a difference in characteristics beyond the sexual
organs (Clarkson, 1998). In particular, differences in the wing colouration and wing lengths

Atomic Of The Atomic Force
Atomic force: Atomic force is spotless, protected, solid, smaller, aggressive and basically
boundless. Today more than 400 atomic reactors give base load electric force in 30 nations. Fifty
years of age, it is a generally develop innovation with the certification of awesome change in the
people to come. (Many atomic reactors outfit dependable and adaptable shipboard force: military
boats obviously. Be that as it may, the innovation is versatile to non military personnel sea

Atomic waste is to be saved in profound geographical stockpiling locales; it doesn t enter the
biosphere. Its effect on the environments is insignificant. Atomic waste suddenly rots after some
time while stable synthetic waste, for example, arsenic or mercury, keeps going forever. Most
fossil fuel waste is as gas that goes up the smokestack. We don t see it, however it is not without
impact, creating a worldwide temperature alteration, corrosive downpour, exhaust cloud and
other air contamination. Safe: Atomic force is protected, as demonstrated by the record of a
large portion of a century of business operation, with the aggregated experience of more than
12,000 reactor years. There have been just two genuine mischances in the business abuse of
atomic force: Three Mile Island in 1979 (in Pennsylvania, USA) and Chernobyl in 1986 (in the
Soviet Union, now in Ukraine). TMI was the most exceedingly bad mischance one can envision in
a western force reactor. The center of the reactor liquefied down and a lot of it tumbled to the base
of the reactor vessel. The radioactivity discharged was completely limited to the strengthened solid
control structure, the water/air proof storehouse like building which houses the reactor it was
intended for that reason. The little measure of radioactivity which got away was entirely harmless.
Thus, nobody at TMI was genuinely lighted nor did anybody kick the bucket. Actually, Three Mile
Island was a genuine example of

Why Is Athens Better Than Sparta
Sparta and Athens were the two strongest city states and bitter rivals in ancient Greece, but who
was better? They had some similarities, but also many differences in culture, government, and
lifestyle. Over the years, they did not get along well together. Sparta was superior to Athens
because Sparta had superior training, had a more effective military, and gave women more freedom.
First of all, Sparta was superior to Athens because Sparta had superior training. The Spartans
feared that helots might soon rebel so the government firmly trained all men and boys for war.
The boys, who left their families when they were seven, were treated and trained aggressively so
they could become strong. The boys lived in barracks with the others that were also training. They
didn t sleep on your normal bed either. They lodged together in little bands upon beds made of the
reeds... which they were to break off with their hands without a knife. (Spartan Discipline, Plutarch)
The men, who entered the regular army when they were twenty, remained in barracks for 10
additional years. They could return home when they were thirty, but remained in the army until
they were sixty. Also, the men of Sparta were all treated the same... Show more content on

As a result of their superior training for war, Spartans became very successful. They won many
battles against other city states, such as the Peloponnesian War. Sparta made Athens surrender and
broke up their empire. Because of their defeat, they created their own empire. Although Sparta
ended up falling to another army led by Thebes, they were one of the most dominant groups in
ancient Greece. Because of their defeats, they also gained a lot of land. Sparta controlled about
two fifths of the Peloponnese. (Greek and Roman Civilizations, Mark Twain Media Inc. p11)
Unlike Sparta, Athens didn t train their young boys to fight. This was why Sparta was able to defeat

The Monetary Value That Represents All Of The Products...
The monetary value that represents all of the products made in a country is Gross Domestic
Product. This figure affects my life right now because the unemployment in the country can be
observed by looking at the gap between the GDP per capita and the GDP per person. I can use
this information because I am seeking a job. Also, in the future, knowledge of the GDP can be
useful because I will want to know my personal productivity compared to the average which is
represented by the GDP per employed person. Additionally, the Consumer Price Indexis a figure that
illustrates the inflationof prices over time. It is determined by the values of the prices of goods that
are included in the basket of goods which has products that consumers usually... Show more content

Furthermore, the Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization are used to predict if inflation will
occur. The industrial production measures how many manufactured goods are produced and the
capacity utilization figure uses this information to create a ratio that determines whether there is a
supply shortage or not. These figures can help me to find out if it is a good time to seek a job in a
particular industry. For instance, right now the capacity utilization rate is at 81.9% in the mining
industry which shows that there is a limited amount of supply, so employment opportunities would
be increased in this field ( Industrial Production ). In the future, I can use this figure to predict if
prices would increase in the field because if there is a limited amount of supply, then prices would
increase.
To add, Retail Sales is an economic indicator that shows the comparison of sales in the retail
industry within a few weeks. It is included in the GDP because the retail sales shows the
productivity shows the majority of sales and production in the overall economy. I can use the
retail sales figure in my life because I can see how the prices in retail will change. Also, in the
future, I can use retail sales to find out if retail is a good industry to invest in. Business Inventories
and Sales is a figure that contributes to determining the overall productivity of the economy. This
indicator shows the supply

Rights of Indigenous Australians
The law recognizes that specific groups in society are permitted to have specific rights. Individuals
in traditional homelands have the right to determine the application of health, education and
welfare entitlements, free from government regulation and discrimination. However the rights
Indigenous Australians are entitled to are not being completely abided by and therefore white law
is being used as a tool of discrimination to Indigenous Australians.
Before the case of Eddie Mabo, Indigenous Australian s ancestral lands that they were raised on
were claimed for British purposes and benefits. After crossing paths with land rights advocates
and legal minds, Eddie Mabo became of crucial importance to Indigenous Australian land law.
Mabo was looking to seek a retreat from injustice concerning Indigenous Australians right to the
land. After a ten year legal battle, often referred to as the Mabo Case, six out seven High Court
Judges ruled that: The Meriam people are entitled as against the whole world, to possession,
occupation, use and enjoyment of the lands of the Murray Islands . By showing that the
Indigenous owned land as individuals and as families, and had clearly demarcated property
boundaries, Mabo s battle for land rights proved successful. This succession paved the way for fair
land rights for Australia s Indigenous people.
The Stronger Futures aims to help the Indigenous persons of remote communities in the Northern

Michael Jackson Beat It
In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still lives on,
inspiring and touching people s heart. I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, and the
reason why I picked this song is because it presents a strong message. Not only did
Jackson make a powerful statement with his lyrics, he also made one with his choice of rhythm
and beats. The guitars and drums that were used, give the song a dramatic rock vibe. According to
music critics Jackson s album Thriller seemed to be inspired by a mixture of several genres which
previously were never combined ( thrilleralbum). It is pretty obvious ... Show more content on

The second verse talks about making the right choice to just go away instead of shedding blood,
and trying to be a tough guy. The third verse simply describes that even if one chooses to walk
away, it is better to be alive than to risk it. The fourth verse in my opinion talks about the
consequences of fighting and that if one chooses to be violent, chances are that they will get hurt.
As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although No One wants To Be
Defeated. It is better to go because in the end It Doesn t Matter Who is Wrong Or Right.
Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself
instead of proving yourself to others. It is not worth the struggle (songfacts).
As I was analyzing the song, I was listening for specific sounds and noises that would symbolize
the meaning of the song. I heard a police siren which could symbolize that if you get involved
with gangs and violence, you will end up in jail. I also heard a snapping sound and deep breathing
sounds. The breathing sounds could represent the sound of someone running away and catching a
breath. I could detect sounds as if someone was getting punched and sounds of blades which could
represent a fight. While searching for different meanings of the song I came across an interesting

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers Analysis
Invasion of the Body Snatchers was made during the Red Scare era where everyone in the
United States was afraid of communism spreading across the country. This film is uniquely
demonstrating how fast something can spread, especially when you let your guard down like
they did when they fell asleep in the movie. The use of the pod in my opinion was to represent
how easy it was to plant an idea in someone s mind. One thing about communism is it grew
rapidly kind like how the pods grew in the movie. It didn t matter what the doc did or where they
went someone in the movie always had a pod right around the corner for when they would go to
sleep. That is how fast communism spread when you least expected it there were people among us

Reflection Paper About Reflection
Reflection Questions
Out of all the stories that I heard my favorite story was titled the Power Of Love . The author
drew me in by using a precise date and setting and that made me feel like I was there in that same
setting. The way she detailed the setting and used a lot of the sense such as stating that the room
she sat in was cold and as the doctor talked to her it turned chilly.
The speaker used a lot of elements in her story, but one of the strongest elements that I found that
would be extremely useful is how well she developed the story and how it was organized. She did
not over complicate the story and spoke very eloquently. The manner in which she carried the story
also made me understand her story easily and I would like to incorporate these elements in my
story as well.
My biggest challenge with this project is going to be vocalizing my story in a strong manner,
because when I get nervous I tend to mumble. I hope that I do not mumble and that i convey my
story clearly.
Before the story: My sister had a boyfriend, although she was not allowed to date. She would take
me along with her so that no one would suspect anything.
I would go with her under the condition that she would buy me my movie ticket and food.
How it began:
It all started when I was in the 7th grade.
My sister and I were going to go to the movies and as always I would be the one to wait on her,
because she always took a long time getting ready. I was laying on my bed and listening to
music. As I was waiting for her I looked in the mirror. I then suddenly noticed I had a unibrow.
Ever since the fourth grade I was aware of that unibrow, but this time it was a scary one.
How it began:
I told myself do not worry no one will notice, but then i thought no your in middle school someone
will notice. I then thought of another idea maybe I will shave it, get rid of that unibrow.
That idea alone did not convince me so then I though maybe I should just get bangs and cut them
right above my eyes and no one will even know.
Then my sister starts yelling at me to hurry up the irony of that statement when it was always me
getting her in trouble for being late.
Climax: I decided that I was gonna be bold and I was going to shave

I am glad that we are discussing malpractice insurance this week because I have very limited
knowledge regarding this topic. And I hope I will understand more as the discussion continues.
APRNs have greater responsibilities compare to RNs as their scope of practice expand. APRNs
can diagnose and provide treatment for patients. This increase their liability, thus having
malpractice insurance is inevitable. In my opinion private personal malpractice insurance is
beneficial for APRNs regardless whether the employer offers it or not. The malpractice insurance
provided by the employer may look more after the employer s best interests. Malpractice insurances

Assess The Validity Of The Demographic Transition Model
The demographic transition model is valid when applied to Djibouti, which is a lower developed
stage 2 country, because of the economic, social, and health factors found on the human
development index.
The demographic transition model is valid because of economic factors such as the Gross
Domestic Product per capita and labor force per occupation. In Djibouti, the average Gross
Domestic Product is $3,100. This is a low income compared to many countries, which is a reason
Djibouti is considered a lower developed country and classified as a stage 2 on the demographic
transition model; it cannot afford many of the luxuries other developed countries can. Another
economic factor that is found in Djibouti is the percentage of labor force occupations. It is
estimated that about 75% of people work in agriculture, 11% of people work in industries, and 14%
of people work in services. The high percentage of people working in agriculture proves that
Djibouti is a lower developed country because many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Djibouti, the average life expectancy of a male is 60 years old while the average life
expectancy of a female is 63 years old. Compared to more developed regions, these are very low
numbers. The infant mortality rate is also high at 48.7 out of 1,000 children dying. These statistics
are due to the medical healthcare that still needs improvement and harsh agricultural lifestyle that
takes place in Djibouti. Low life expectancies are found primarily in lower developed countries
because of poor health conditions that still need improvement, and high infant mortality rates are
found in lower developed countries due to the diseases and poor sanitation that is still present
within the country. Therefore, Djibouti is a lower developed country and is classified as a stage 2,

Summary And Commentary Of Dadi s Family
Summary and commentary of Dadi s family
Dadi refers to the grandmother, manager of an extended family living in the Haryana region of
Northern India. When dadi days family, she meant the male lineage with all their wives and
children living as one economic unit. With everyone s income managed by the oldest couple. This
film explores the extended family and its problems, particularly through the women of Dadi s
family. The film also addresses the different roles women play in her lifetime, daughters, daughter
in law, mothers, mother in law, sisters, sister in law, wives. It also reveals the difficult to fulfil each
role. Some important aspect that the film touches on is also patriarchy and the influences of
education in changing the status of women.
Family as support or burden
Family acts as a support in many ways. Since everyone contributes to the household, the Dadi
treats everyone equally and when money is asked for any important purposes, the Dadi will
provide the money no matter how expensive it is. Also, Dadi mentions that the family can bear
anything, can suffer any lost because they suffer together. However, if one moves out, he is alone
and have to provide solutions for himself. In the family, everyone works together; the dadi and
dada work and make decisions together. Children do not have to work. However, if they leave the
household, the daughter in law will have to manage everything on her own.
In general, family acts as a better support for those who are

From the Broadbeach study, the investigation of offshore...
From the Broadbeach study, the investigation of offshore wave conditions erosion rates and
sandbar morphodynamics, show that Broadbeach experienced some unusual experience during
the study period. Given that the wave conditions on the Gold Coast were considerably less
energetic, results suggest that Broadbeach s beach is significantly vulnerable and is more easily
eroded than other beaches reported. Time series of offshore wave conditions combined with the
evolution of the beach volume also suggests that the studied beach is more exposed to high
erosion rates in the presences of NE to E swell. This trend is in agreement with visual observation
all along the Gold Coast. However, the second and third storm wave events are estimated to be of...

During the first and second extreme events mentioned in the study, the 150m wide Coolangatta
Beach experienced the most intense erosion because waves did not reach the vegetated dune. The
beach then recovered markedly, which can be explained by the presence of the sand bypassing
system and sheltering from he SE high waves (Castelle et al., 2007).
The evolution of measured beach volumes over the study period strongly suggests that the Gold
Coast beaches are not able to withstand a powerful succession of extreme vents. The first high
wave event strongly weakened the beaches, which did not recover before the second high wave
event of a magnitude not unusual along the Gold Coast. However, in these two cases, the storms
resulted in surprisingly high erosion rates. Data from a more in depth investigation of Broadbeach,
using video imagery, suggest that outer bar decay, resulting in a lack of protection of the sub aerial
beach, may explain this high erosion.
The present results show that high energy easterly swells have a considerable destructive power on
both northern and southern Gold Coast beaches. Even though no tropical cyclone directly crossed
the Gold Coast, which would have resulted in much higher energy waves and a more severe storm
surge, the erosion measured is the most substantial of the past 30 years. The Gold Coast beaches
investigated lost between 34 and 52m3/m, which, in terms of beach nourishment, is an extremely
large amount of sand. This suggests hat

Benefits Of Immigrants Volunteering In The Military
Today, immigrants volunteer in all branches of the US Army. UU. And they are a vital asset for the
Department of Defense. To recognize their unique contribution, immigrants who serve honorably in
the military who are not yet citizens of the United States. UU. They should be given significant
advantages in the naturalization process. While opponents feel that immigrants should not earn
citizenship from serving in the military because they will take advantage of their citizenship, they
are incorrect; immigrants should instead be allowed to gain citizenship because their families will

Opponents feel that immigrants should not earn citizenship from serving in the military because
they will take advantage of time served in the military in order to obtain their citizenship without

The Theory Of Scientific Revolutions
In my essay I plan to argue that Thomas Kuhn was incorrect when he presented his theory that no
paradigm is better than any other paradigm and how he believed that people who occupy different
paradigms are in different universes, in his book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. I believe
that there is no valid deductive or inductive support for incommensurability, there are examples
against it throughout the history of sciencethat do not exhibit the discontinuity and replacement of
paradigms, as Kuhn s incommensurability thesis predicts, but rather continuity and

Explain How the Social and Economic Changes Affected Gaucho Life
Due to the huge migration to Latin America, foreigners introduced the gauchos to many changes
that would have a lasting effect. Two of the main changes felt by the gauchos included social and
economic restructuring. One must understand that history about the gauchos can potentially be
biased. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is
interesting. This clash of recorded history and actual history causes us to question what actually
occurred during this time period. The gauchos lifestyle suffered greatly because of these social and
economic changes. New institutions, values and beliefs all aided the transformation ... Show more

Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the
new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown
destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also
impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change
from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work.
These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill
roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set
territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from
wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get
rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit.
This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good
fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and
economically. Gauchos social lives slowed down enormously because of the military. They had to
work continuously. Economically they benefited because they no longer had to look for ways to
support their basic needs. The government took care of making them sustain life.

Analysis Of Whale Done By Ken Blanchard
The book, Whale Done, written by Ken Blanchard, exemplifies how a business manager named
Wes Kinsley learns the key to managing relationships while on a trip to SeaWorld. Kinsley
uncovers the secret to managing positive relationships with people by witnessing how trainers at
SeaWorld receive incredible responses from their whales by highlighting their positive behaviour,
and ignoring or redirecting their negative behaviours. In the book, Blanchard contrasts the GOTcha
manager, one who seeks to only accentuate the negative properties of individuals actions with the
WHALE DONE manager, who highlights and tries to reinforce positive behaviour. The goal of
Blanchard is for readers to understand the application of the Whale Done! management... Show

However, Blanchard fails to discuss the importance of negative responses in communication.
Negative responses are useful in order to keep workers inline and stopping them from breaking
rules. It can be necessary in many situations; however, managers of today still abuse negative
responses. There are examples of modern day managers using negative responses and finding
success. For example, John Tortorella, the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the
National Hockey League has found success from yelling at players and criticizing them, but he
actually went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, winning the
Jacks Adam award for attributing the most to his teams success. (Cooper, 2015). He is often seen
as a villain in the hockey community, but his success is clearly attributable to his negative
responses and negative attitude. This tough relationship he has with his players must improve
their play because he has been a coach on and off in the league since 2001. Blanchard s ideologies
clearly go against everything John Tortorella stands for, but there is no denying his success. This
style of management can be successful in some places, and modern managers have to understand
when to apply this style. Clearly Blanchard s methods are successful, but so are

A Discussion Of Socratic Irony
As we can see, Kierkegaard traces a parallel between Socrates ironic practice and a picture.
Furthermore, the effect of his rejoinders is likened to that of an image suddenly popping up while
we stare at this picture. In order to get at Kierkegaard s point, we have to consider that this
passage is contained inside a discussion of Xenophon s portrait of Socrates. In fact, the whole
passage is meant those aspects of Socratic irony which Xenophon missed. In this regard,
Kierkegaard writes that what he dislikes in Xenophon s treatment of Socrates is his failure to
portray the two essential elements of Socratic irony. The first one is situation , the second one
are his rejoinders . A bit below, Kierkegaard adds that [...] Socratic questioning is clearly [...]
analogous to the negative in Hegel, except that the negative, according to Hegel is a necessary
element in thought itself, is a determinant ad intra [inwardly]; in Plato [and therefore in Socrates] ,
the negative is made graphical and placed outside the object in the inquiring individual . This two
ways of conceiving the negative give way to two modes of leading philosophical inquiry. In the
first case, [...] one can ask with the intention of receiving an answer containing the desired fullness,
and hence the more one asks, the deeper and more significant becomes the answer; or [in the second
case,] one can ask without any interest in the answer except to suck out the apparent content by
means of the question and thereby

A Report On The Toms Website
In 2006 the founder of TOMS, Blake Mycoskie, stumbled upon an innovative idea while traveling
in Argentina. He noticed that many of the children lacked proper footwear and he wanted to make
an effort to fix this problem. Mycoskie devised a plan for a company that would involve giving
shoes to those who needed them with every purchase of TOMS shoes. Today, this business has
expanded by providing the things necessary for all human beings. There are many key details on
the TOMS website that emphasize the many aspects of the company. These include the product
links and descriptions that further inform the customerof the company s good works, the many

The children s shoes that are showcased on the site prove to be slightly less expensive and fall
within the $25 $70 category. Taking a look at the other various products further illustrates the
target market with prices of eyewear ranging from $75 $200 and bags reaching prices in the
three hundreds. The coffee roasts that are offered under the Shop link all seem to have a general
price of about $13, however, the option of joining TOMS roasting club is given which includes
the opportunity to receive the roasts on a monthly basis with a set pay of either $12 for a 12
ounce bag or up to $62 for a 5 pound bag. In order for someone to be able to participate in the
TOMS roasting club, they would have to be making sufficient funds a month that allow for them
to pay such a hefty cost for coffee that could be bought for a cheaper price at the local grocery
store. Although these prices appear somewhat extreme for the products they are advertised for, the
customers that are looking to purchase any TOMS products know that the price is worth it in
exchange for the happiness of others. The Marketplace link, for example, leads the customer to a
wide variety of products including clothing, accessories, jewelry, as well as products for the home
and merchandise to be bought as a gift for a friend. When a potential customer discovers something

Literature Review On Visual Art Education
This literature review is concerned with the effective and engaging way to deliver visual art lesson
to students. This is a significant educational topic because research suggests that students
engagement in the classroom has been distinguished as the important indicator for students
academic success (Harbour, Evanovich, Sweigart, Hughes, 2015). Errey and Wood (2011) also
suggest that the higher the level of students engagement will result in a better learning outcome.
However, many students have fallen in the category of disengage during their classroom practice,
which also includes art classroom. The existing literature on visual art educationproven that many
students in art classroom claimed that they were bored and showed resistance in their art classes
(Pennisi, 2013), they were also not as enthusiastic about their art project as the teacher (Andrews,
2010). So, the purpose of this literature review is to discuss several approaches for teachers to
effectively deliver art education in the classroom.
The existing literature on visual art education proven that there is little evidence of how teaching
practice happens in the classroom (Mitchell, 2016). Mitchell (2016) also argues that although there
are several types of research that provide the important information on the foundation of art
educations, there is barely any information that proves how learning effectively occurs in the art
education. This approach might include building a positive relationship (Keeffe, Lovejoy, Spenser
Jones, Prain, 2013), the usage of technology in the classroom (Patton Buffington, 2016), applying
student centered learning (Andrews, 2010).
Student centered Learning
It has been discussed that teacher needs to move away from teacher centered learning and using
student centered learning instead. In this way, instead of being the commander in the classroom,
teacher act as the facilitator and the guide for students, in which helping students in reaching their
desired art projects. It is also necessary for visual art classroom to provide a condition where
different students develop their own potential abilities (Tomljenovic, 2015). This condition could be
achieved by using student centered teaching strategies, which

The Music Of The Band Heart
I imagine this doesn t apply to everyone, as each person is different and I know some people don
t listen to music (Gasp!). But in general, it seems as if music has the ability to move us. I ve
thought about this quite a bit, but the video of the band Heart s live cover of Led Zeppelin s
Stairway to Heaven really made me wonder (pun not intended. Seriously, though, if you haven t
seen it, it s nothing short of mind blowing; one of the best Stairway covers in a long time). I
enjoy listening to almost every kind of music, but my personal favorite has to be classic, golden
age rock and roll (1960s through 1980s, with some songs from other decades scattered
throughout). I know some people who will roll their eyes and mentally groan, I know! , at me
bringing up my three favorite bands again (for the record, they re 1) Queen, 2) Alice Cooper, 3)
Aerosmith; not in order of preference, but the order of when I got into them) but I don t let it
get to me. (If I do, that s what my music binges are for). To me, they never stop sounding
amazing. Anyways, when I listen to it, it seems to control my emotions. I have a chemical and
physical response to the music. I know this happens with a lot of people. Why do we seem to
have such a powerful connection with music? Well, maybe because it affects each one of us
differently, there is no set answer; instead, there are many possible effects, such as... Dancing:

Judaism Compare And Contrast
The topic I choose to write about is Judaism. Like other religions, there are differences in the
religion. I decided to compare and contrast the different types of Judaism. Writers compare and
contract in order to understand their similarities and differences ( Vandermey 2012 pg. 182 ).
Judaism is a monotheistic religion. Judaismis 3,500 years old, is the oldest of the monotheistic
religions. The first attestation of the word Judaism occurs in 2 Maccabees, a Greek abridgment of
a history of the Maccabean revolt that was written ca. 124 BCE References Satlow, M. L. (2006).
Monotheism is the worship of a single powerful God. The prefix of mono means one. Monotheism

If you really dissect each religion you will find that they have more in common than differences.
They all promote love for God and mankind. The Jewish tradition stems from Abraham s covenant
with God. Jews believe that God made a covenant with Abraham that he would be the father of a
great people if he followed God s instructions. The covenant was the promise God made with
Abraham that his people would be sacred and give them a holy land. Judaism is a tradition
grounded in the religious, ethical, and social laws as they are articulated in the Torah which is the
Jewish holy book. There are several different sects in the Jewish religion such as Reformed,
Conservative, and Orthodox Jews. The main difference between the belief systems is the approach
to Torah and the implications of that approach. It is how a Jewish community interact with Torah
that defines them as Conservative Jews ( Grossman 2005

Gluten Free Diet Analysis
What should be the Autism Diet
Autism is a complex developmental and neurological condition that typically appears during the
first three years of life. People with autism have a leaky gut or intestine, which allows parts of
gluten and casein to seep in to the blood stream and affect the brain and central nervous system. It
affects brain function, particularly in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. The
main systems of autism are delayed talking, lack of interest in playing with other children, not
wanting to be held or cuddled and poor eye contact.
Autism can lead to health concern like:
Limit food selection/strong food dislikes
Not eating enough food
Constipation
Medication interactions

The Comstock Era And The 19th Century
The Comstock Era was very important in the 19th century. It affected a lot of people good and
bad during this time. Also, many leaders were presented in this era such as Victoria Woodhull and
Tennie Claflin. However, some of these events still occur in current United States politics such as
free love. Whether or not it s better or worse free lovestill continues and is brought up during

and was part of a campaign for legislating public morality. The purpose of this law was to stop the
trade in obscenity literatures and immoral articles. It also was towards birth control usage,
abortion, and human sexuality. If you were caught using it or selling it you would be sentenced to

Theories And Research Of Educational Psychology
Select one area of applied psychology in this module. Discuss how theory and research in this area
has been helpful or unhelpful in addressing human problems.
Educational psychology has produced a vast array of theory and research that can be applied to
educational settings to address problems that may occur. This essay will discuss how helpful, or
not so helpful, research and theory has been in dealing with problems found in schools such as
morality and understanding how children learn in order to create a rounded curriculum.

There is support for this idea as according to Piaget practice on a task that you are not biologically
ready for should not improve performance until sufficiently mature. Research supports this
argument as it has been found that children aged 10 and 13 did not improve on formal operational
tasks when tutored, but 17 years olds did (Danner Day, 1977) as Piaget s theory would expect.
Therefore, the concept of readiness may be helpful in understanding why children may not show
improvement on challenging tasks even with tutoring. If this is the case then teachers should revise
the material they are teaching to make sure their age group is biologically ready to interpret the
material.
On the other hand, there is research that also contradicts the idea that a child has to be
biologically ready to be able to learn something. Bryant and Trabasso (1971) showed that children
in the pre operational stage could be trained to solve some logical tasks which, according to Piaget
s theory they should not be able to do. Instead, they argued that children s failure was due to
memory restrictions and not an absence of logical thinking that appears in the operational stage.
They showed that when given suitable training 4 year olds showed good performance on these
tasks. They then suggested that it is practice and not readiness that matters when children are

Reading the works of Nietzsche it becomes clear that he calls for individuals to denounce the

The only constant thing is the struggle for power and a virtue of a powerful will, freedom from
resentment, hatred and a bad conscience. This clearly indicates that in his genealogy Nietzsche s
main goal is to put society s value for morality into question. For instance, he bases his argument on
the society s morality coming out of hatred and resentment towards anything healthy, strong or

Technology has facilitated the use of transiting data. With that in mind, sensitive information must
be kept within close safe guards. Failure to protect vital information may facilitate its retrieval by

material non public information may sell that information to an outside party for profit. Likewise,

Fraud is less likely to occur when employees believe that security is everyone s business, when
they see themselves as protecting the company assets, and when they believe it is their
responsibility to watch for and report evidence of computer fraud (Haugen and Selin 4). When
employees resemble sound morals, the probability of employees harboring intentions to steal
company secrets decrease. Behind this growth in monitoring policy is a business goal aimed at
ensuring the continued viability and success of the company, which should be in every employee
s long term best interest (Fleming 110). Situations that promote employee fraud in the workplace
include poor internal controls, poor personnel policies and practices, and a lack of integrity
principles (Haugen and Selin 2). Management needs to present the image that it is vital to secure
the assets of the firm to protect the longevity of not only your career but also the company s
existence in the corporate world. When employees feel like they are valued member of their
company, they are less inclined to act in a manner that would defraud their place of employment
for personal gain. Likewise, increasing the perception of detection inspires employees to refrain
from deceptive activities. People generally refrain from unethical behavior when there is a

The Social And Multicultural Differences Of The Movie ...
Crash has many kinds of social and multicultural differences. The movie shows us how they affect
our society. The two major behaviors observed are Prejudice and Stereotyping. These are
identified as the causes of the events in the movie. The three main topics of this essay are, what do
they say about the people who subscribe to them?, what are stereotypes?, and how have stereotypes
affected your life (either by placing them on others or having them placed on you)? These all
play a major role in the movie. What do they say about the people who subscribe them? In my
opinion, stereotyping is just people assuming things about other people that they do not even
know. Its like saying, one has never met an Arab or a Muslim before and one says that, All Arabs
and Muslims are terrorists . People say All children hate healthy food , which is not true at all.
Healthy green foods are what I loved to eat when I was younger. I eat them every day and still

know some very intelligent blondes. They are just assuming that all blonds are dumb. In my
opinion stereotyping is a bad habit to start. Stereotyping people can hurt them very badly. I ve seen
some people cry when others stereotypethem. Stereotyping isn t nice, but apparently to some
people it is. Stereotyping could be considered a form of bullying and one can get in a lot of trouble
when one bully nowadays. There has been people

Judicial Activism Vs. Judicial Restraint
Judicial Activism
Introduction
When researching for texts written about Judicial Activism, one comes across various authors who
wrote and published works about the topic. These works are mainly journals, pamphlet, brochures,
newspapers, magazines, and articles. Before delving into the subject matter, Judicial Activism, it is
important first to understand what judicial philosophy means. Judicial philosophy can be described
as the way that a judge cognizes and interprets the law. Even though laws are universal, they should
be applied to particular cases with unique conditions. To conduct this, the law is interpreted by the
judge, who determine its meaning and at times the intention of people who wrote it. Among the
major types of judicial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Judicial activism critics in America claim that the law courts mustn t assume the authority to
intervene in issues that involve ethical and political decisions, thereby disregarding the democracy
s fundamental principles. Contrariwise, a court is, on occasion, considered exaggeratedly restrained
and passive the moment it refrains from defending the rule of law at large and individual liberties.
This paper s goal is to look at the various dimensions of judicial activism, for instance, its history
and the cases supporting it. It will also look into how judicial activism plays a role in the
government, and why there is a necessity for more judges who are activists. The paper will also
compare judicial activism with judicial restraint as well as explain which philosophy among the
two is more preferable.
Judicial Activism
As stated earlier, judicial activism is when a court doesn t confine itself to an interpretations of
laws that is reasonable, but rather create laws. Thus, judicial activism refers to judicial rulings
assumed to be based on political or personal considerations instead of on the existing law. As
seen, the judicial activism essence is when a decision of a judge in a case is grounded upon her
political or personal social beliefs, instead of interpreting the law as it is. Basically, the judge alters
the law. Rather than saying a certain behavior

The Theme of Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown Essay
The Theme of Young Goodman Brown
This essay intends to develop an interpretation of the theme of Young Goodman Brown .
To come by a clear notion of the theme of Young Goodman Brown is no easy task, thanks to the
confusing style of the author. As A.N. Kaul says in the Introduction to HawthorneA Collection of
Critical Essays:
Because Hawthorne was much given to evasions, mystifications, and prevarications of various
sorts, because he repeatedly confuses the issues by shying sway from them, because he often talks
of his fiction in terms of misty legends and faded blooms, because, in short, he seems frequently to
disclaim his own vital interests, we must take care not to lose from sight those ... Show more content

Evil becomes a monster with which he cannot cope. . . . F.N. Cherry discovered a source in one of
Cervantes Novelas ejemplares, The Colloquy of the Dogs, which contains all the important motifs
of Hawthorne s tale [ Young Goodman Brown]. It is the life history of the dog Berganza, who is
young and inexperienced at first, but gains insight into appearance and reallity, hypocrisy and
righteousness, trying hard, at the same time, not to become cynical, though, as a dog, he has every
right to be. The climax of his story is the meeting with an old witch, who. . . . (89 90)
I m sure that the close resemblance between this dog tale and Hawthorne s tale is not a very
complimentary testimony regarding the theme of the latter.
Terence Martin in Nathaniel Hawthorne talks about the difficult theme of Young Goodman Brown :
Assumed in the tale is a radical distinction between dream life and real life; the question proposed
to Goodman Brown is into which of these categories good and evil naturally belong. At the outset
of the story, Faith asks her husband to postpone his journey until sunrise and sleep in his own bed
that night. . . . Mulling over the guilty purpose that has brought him into the forest, Goodman
Brown recalls Faith s talk of dreams. . . . In the forest he goes through a dreamlike experience. . . .
The devil, furthermore, introduces a further notion of a dream. . . . Thus the counterpoised terms,

Hr Talent Managment
Talent management is quickly becoming a top preference for companies all over the world.
(Bhatnagar 2008). The reasoning to this is due to the surge in rivalry between businesses to capture
the talent that is available, we call this the war for talent (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Talent
management refers to the best suited people or individuals to the occupation in question, sometimes
assigned A players . In the past the disorganisation of talent managementhas led to the breakdown
of large multinational companies, who rectify the problem by turning over more and more talent
which inevitably makes the problem worse, causing it to fail and an overall sense of pain is
inflicted upon the companies. (Cappelli, 2008). However nowadays... Show more content on

In the case of Cedar Park Furniture will look for a combination of staff from inside and outside the
business.
Firstly we can look internally, the company could resource store managers from other locations
and enrol them in the new stores. This is an effective strategy as the company is giving the
employees the opportunity to develop and move up the ladder, it also is much more cost efficient.
Externally it is probably best for the company to hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost
default, the company can then develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way.
Principle 2:
Another key practice that Cedar Park Furniture should take on board in the regards of adopting a
strategic approach to talent management, is to adapt to the uncertainty that staff may move on. To
combat this the company should break up its recruitment system, hire employees in bundles not
in mass amounts (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014).Therefore Cedar Park should relocate some
of its staff from the UK and disperse then among the new shops. This helps to create a broad
talent pool that can be allocated among a wide range of business systems. The production of
portfolios is another way in which the senior management deals with the unprecedented leave of
experienced staff (Beardwell and Thompson, 2014). Floor staff will be trained in diverse roles so
the store can adapt if this sort of a situation arises.
Principle 3:
It is important that the company require

Police Body Cameras Should Reduce Police Misconduct
The idea of using the hook and eye method to achieve coherence and connect thoughts between
sentences and paragraphs makes perfect sense. However, I had never put much thought into the
method used to accomplish this. As I poured through articles, looking at the different types of
research methods used, I could not help but notice the hook and eye connections. I also wondered
if they the author was familiar with the hook and eye concept, or if this is a common, natural way
of writing. I also know that I need more time using and identifying the main connections (phrases or
words).
I selected an article about police body cameras. The article cited several studies, as well as the
authors ideas and thoughts. The article, titled Police Body Cameras, is part of the CATO Institute s
National Police Misconduct Reporting Project, and prepared by Matthew Feeney in 2015. The
theme throughout the article is that the use of body cameras will reduce police misconduct.
Although we all hope this is the case, we must also look at the other issues involved with the
wearing of body cameras. In an effort to gain citizen buy in and obtain their opinions, they
conducted surveys. Interestingly enough, most people did not want the officers to record them,
unless it was during an enforcement encounter, such as a traffic stop or arrest situation.
In looking at the effects body camera had in relation to police behavior, they cited a study from
Rialto, California. They conducted the study over a

Wizard Of Oz Comparison
The World is not a perfect place where everything is solved in 2 hours. With entertainment like
movies or tv we are allowed to have a escape. For two hours you can be or explore anywhere or
anything. The use of a happier way of life makes it easier for us to deal with the sadness in the
world. Sometimes reality is other rated and rose colored glasses can do one better rather than
knowing what s behind the curtain.
In the real world we are forced to deal with pain, sadness, and death. Everyday these are things that
we must endure on a regular basis. The joy of movies and television allows us to escape these
things. We no longer have to deal with the harshness of reality. It lets us imagine what life could be

It s like in the wizard of Oz, one would never prefer the depressing world of grey over the beauty
and magic of the colored world. Dorothy is able to escape her grey and dreary life for a world of
color, magic, and adventure. That is the thing people want to encounter, not the sadness of reality.
The beauty of entertainment is that it gets us to shed the shackles of reality. You can do anything
or be anyone. Wizard of Oz is the perfect example. Dorothy lives in a bland, grey and dreary
existence. Then she gets to encounter the world of Oz filled with creative characters, heroics, and
magic. She gets to become something she never could have in her own world, a hero. That is the
joy of it, to become something that they never thought they could become.
Does the entertainment industry pain the world in a bright light as to not remind people of
society s issues? I d tend to believe so. The real world can be harsh, filled with pain and regrets. For
two hours, or however long it is, we can escape that harsh reality and view the world in a new and
brighter light. Some times all we want to do is be Dorothy Gale who gets to leave her grey and
saddened life in Kansas. Sometimes we merely wish to travel over the rainbow way up high, and

Title: More a victim of his own feelings and values then a villain.
Is this a fair judgement on the character and actions of Eddie Carbone?
Target: use precise quotations and make use of redrafting time.
Eddie Carbone is a complicated character, some say he is a villain due to the actions that he takes,
others sympathise with him, saying that he is a victim. You can view him in different lights,
although he acts, some may say, in a villainous manner, he is a victim of his feelings, confused and
unsure of the right thing to do.
Eddie has very strong feelings that he finds very difficult to cope with, this leads the audience to
feel sympathy towards him. He loves Catherine and feels very responsible for her well being. He

Research Paper On Swarm Robotics
AN EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON MULTI ROBOT FOARGING USING SWARMS FOR E
WASTE COLLECTION
1.INTRODUCTION:
Classical robots are usually single complex pieces of electromechanical hardware designed to
perform a task. They are typically expensive, specialized, and complicated. An alternate approach is
to use a swarm composed of a large number of very simple robots that work together, rather than a
single highly capable robot. In this approach, the strength of the system comes not from the
complexity and power of a piece of hardware, but from the cooperation of a large number of
individuals. As the cost of simple robotic components goes down and availability goes up, this
approach becomes increasingly feasible. It is currently possible, for example, ... Show more content

For successful operation they need appropriate communication strategies that should be
dynamically adaptable to possibly changing environmental requirements. A promising way to
achieve this is through the use of an evolutionary robotics (ER) approach, i.e., using evolutionary
algorithms to evolve the robots controllers. Swarm Robotics is a new approach to the
coordination of multi robot systems which consist of large numbers of usually, but not necessarily,
simple physical robots. It is an interesting alternative to classical approaches to robotics because of
some properties of problem solving by social animals, which is flexible, robust, decentralized and
self organized.

Effectiveness And Sources Of Risk Of Viral Control And...
Assessing the effectiveness and sources of risk of viral control and prevention through wastewater
treatment from reservoirs and human waste. Introduction
Viruses are produce from infected individuals are spread through excretion into the waste water
system, leading to spread in wastewater. (Hewit et al. 2011) Viruses are responsible for the
majority of known drinking water outbreaks. (Blackburn et al. 2004; Liang et al. 2006; Yoder et
al. 2008). Good treatment for wastewater needs to be done in order to prevent the spread of these
viruses in order to minimize risks of epidemics. (Hewit et al. 2007) Furthermore, the risk for
human health also depends on the virus being spread. This is because, different viruses display
varying levels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The concern is focused on the risks associated with its recreational purposes and risks associated
with waste water and the spread of zoonotic diseases. (Phelps et al. 2014;Yamamoto et al. 2010.).
For example, there has being avian flu outbreaks that were associated with nearby waterfowl
habitats contaminating the water with faeces. (Halvorson et al. 1989; Karunakaran et al. 1983).
Furthermore outbreaks of avian flu in reservoirs have been seen to spread through open water
from fields spreading into nearby water sources. (Hinshaw et al. 1979; Markwell and shortridge
1982) Also it has been considered a risk from carcasses of dead birds spreading the virus in the
water sources, however it has been considered to be unlikely that there will be a spread of H5N1
through this route. (Stallknecht et al. 2006) In order to detect risks such as this real time PCR is
used to detect the levels of the virus in water. (Yamamoto et al. 2010) From detection of the virus
risk management becomes another essential factor in mitigating the spread of contaminated
recreational water. )
Unfortunately, regular monitoring for the introduction of new viruses entering the water, such as
Hemorrhagic Septicemia Virus (HSV) is not considered feasible. Furthermore, prohibiting the
usage of lakes used for recreational and business purposes typically makes it harder to prevent the
use of recreational water. This results in an

Brahmins that were attending the syawamvara. Those Brahmins were pandavs in disguise. Then
came Arjuna he won the archery contest that was held and got Draupadi s hand in marriage. The
remaining Kshatriyas some were watching the scene unfold infront of them and some started to
revolt but seeing his other four brothers protecting they backed off. Then the brothers brought
Draupadi to their home and asked their mother Kunti to see what they have got from royal
household and Kunti then asked them to share whatever it is among themselves without seeing
what was is or rather who was is it that they were talking about. So carelessness of a woman made
other woman suffer. This was not just little incident but it impacted the whole life of Draupadi.
She was always taunted because of this but in actuality this was not her mistake. Draupadi and Sita
are both victims of male society. Sita was victim of lust of Ravana and the revenge that burned

The Guest Character Analysis
Albert Campus is an award winning author who has received a Nobel Peace Prize for his literature.
In 1957 he wrote, L HГґte a word in the french vocabulary that has a double meaning translating to
guest and host. Although, in English it only translates to the guest. This is the first ambiguous clue
in the story that points out Campus s beliefs, and gives readers a point of observation. The Guest is
a short storyabout an Algerian Born Frenchman with the occupation of teaching. He lives in a
desolate that is isolated and rarely has visitors. Whereas, one day a corsican named Balducci comes
there on horseback because he was given government orders to deliver an Arab criminal. Balducci
then gave Daru the news that the government has also ordered Daru that he must then deliver the
Arab to jail. With this news Daru then struggles to decide whether he should bring the Arab to jail
or set him free. It is an internal struggle that Daru and the Arab have to face between choosing right
from wrong and understanding if the two meanings matter. Campuses ambiguous writing
distinguishes that by not taking total responsibility of a choice, that itself is a choice. Daru and the
Arab both have conflicting choices that they face throughout the entire short story suggests that
whether one may want to or not there are choices underlyingly people make.
Daru is initially conflicted between having a strong opinion about following the code of law, and
the wrongdoing of the crime the Arab has

The Types Of Parliamentary Democracies
The two types of Parliamentary democracies are direct democracy, also known as consociational or
consensus democracy, and representative democracy, otherwise called majoritarian democracy
(Dickovick 118 120). A consensus democracy is founded on the principle that the citizens govern
directly and that power is distributed between the executive and legislative branches to prevent and
limit one branch from gaining too much power. An example of a consensus democracyis
Switzerland, as it promotes consensus of the people, and it exhibits the factors necessary for a
direct democracy. Alternatively, a majoritarian democracy is based on the principle of majority
rules, and that power is concentrated and centralized. The United Kingdom is an example of a
majoritarian democracy because it follows the majority rule principle and possesses all the
qualities of a representative democracy. While consensus democracy and majoritarian democracies
are both forms of democracy, the contrasting approaches to democratic rule they engage in
foremost pertaining to the ideas of distribution of political power, causes the two types of
democracy to be diametrically opposite. A consociational or consensus democracy is commonly
used in heterogeneous or plural societies, as a majority rule democracy would be unpredictable and
hazardous in such a society. consensus democracy has its virtues in the front end of democracy. It
emphasizes the belief of the consensus of the people rather than the

  • 2. Fossil LagerstГ¤tten A Fossil LagerstГ¤tten is an undisturbed fossil accumulation in which fossils are exceptionally preserved. There are two types of fossil lagerstГ¤tten: Concentration LagerstГ¤tten (Konzentrat LagerstГ¤tten) and Conservation LagerstГ¤tten (Konservat LagerstГ¤tten). Concentration LagerstГ¤tten are deposits of an immense number of preserved fossils, whereas Conservation LagerstГ¤tten are the preservation of fossils in terms of quality rather than quantity (Nudds and Selden, 2008). There might be few fossils in the rock strata, however, the preservation of these are exemplary. There are many outcropping areas on Earth in which fossils are preserved like this. One example of a group of strata that has retained fossils in this way is the Crato Formation. Location The Crato formation, Brazil, is a geological rock formation ... The Crato Formation lithologies were most likely deposited when there was a marine transgression; which is what the Cretaceous period is renowned for (Hu et al. 2012). The build up of laminated limestones and different lithologies in the stratigraphic column could suggest that it was a lagoon depositional environment (Martill and Frey, 1998). Fossil Assemblage The most prominent fossils in the Crato Formation are the insects that are preserved. One example of an insect that has been recently found is the Araripenymphes seldeni (as seen in figure 3), an extinct species of lacewing (Myskowiak et al., 2016). The taphonomic classification of A.seldini is: Nymphidae Family Neuroptera Order, and Insecta Class (Myskowiak et al., 2016). This particular species shows sexual dimorphism, a difference in characteristics beyond the sexual organs (Clarkson, 1998). In particular, differences in the wing colouration and wing lengths (Myskowiak et al., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Atomic waste is to be saved in profound geographical stockpiling locales; it doesn t enter the biosphere. Its effect on the environments is insignificant. Atomic waste suddenly rots after some time while stable synthetic waste, for example, arsenic or mercury, keeps going forever. Most fossil fuel waste is as gas that goes up the smokestack. We don t see it, however it is not without impact, creating a worldwide temperature alteration, corrosive downpour, exhaust cloud and other air contamination. Safe: Atomic force is protected, as demonstrated by the record of a large portion of a century of business operation, with the aggregated experience of more than 12,000 reactor years. There have been just two genuine mischances in the business abuse of atomic force: Three Mile Island in 1979 (in Pennsylvania, USA) and Chernobyl in 1986 (in the Soviet Union, now in Ukraine). TMI was the most exceedingly bad mischance one can envision in a western force reactor. The center of the reactor liquefied down and a lot of it tumbled to the base of the reactor vessel. The radioactivity discharged was completely limited to the strengthened solid control structure, the water/air proof storehouse like building which houses the reactor it was intended for that reason. The little measure of radioactivity which got away was entirely harmless. Thus, nobody at TMI was genuinely lighted nor did anybody kick the bucket. Actually, Three Mile Island was a genuine example of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Why Is Athens Better Than Sparta Sparta and Athens were the two strongest city states and bitter rivals in ancient Greece, but who was better? They had some similarities, but also many differences in culture, government, and lifestyle. Over the years, they did not get along well together. Sparta was superior to Athens because Sparta had superior training, had a more effective military, and gave women more freedom. First of all, Sparta was superior to Athens because Sparta had superior training. The Spartans feared that helots might soon rebel so the government firmly trained all men and boys for war. The boys, who left their families when they were seven, were treated and trained aggressively so they could become strong. The boys lived in barracks with the others that were also training. They didn t sleep on your normal bed either. They lodged together in little bands upon beds made of the reeds... which they were to break off with their hands without a knife. (Spartan Discipline, Plutarch) The men, who entered the regular army when they were twenty, remained in barracks for 10 additional years. Although Sparta ended up falling to another army led by Thebes, they were one of the most dominant groups in ancient Greece. Because of their defeats, they also gained a lot of land. This figure affects my life right now because the unemployment in the country can be observed by looking at the gap between the GDP per capita and the GDP per person. I can use this information because I am seeking a job. Also, in the future, knowledge of the GDP can be useful because I will want to know my personal productivity compared to the average which is represented by the GDP per employed person. Furthermore, the Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization are used to predict if inflation will occur. The industrial production measures how many manufactured goods are produced and the capacity utilization figure uses this information to create a ratio that determines whether there is a supply shortage or not. These figures can help me to find out if it is a good time to seek a job in a particular industry. For instance, right now the capacity utilization rate is at 81.9% in the mining industry which shows that there is a limited amount of supply, so employment opportunities would be increased in this field ( Industrial Production ). In the future, I can use this figure to predict if prices would increase in the field because if there is a limited amount of supply, then prices would increase. To add, Retail Sales is an economic indicator that shows the comparison of sales in the retail industry within a few weeks. It is included in the GDP because the retail sales shows the productivity shows the majority of sales and production in the overall economy. I can use the retail sales figure in my life because I can see how the prices in retail will change. Also, in the future, I can use retail sales to find out if retail is a good industry to invest in. • 9. Rights of Indigenous Australians The law recognizes that specific groups in society are permitted to have specific rights. Individuals in traditional homelands have the right to determine the application of health, education and welfare entitlements, free from government regulation and discrimination. However the rights Indigenous Australians are entitled to are not being completely abided by and therefore white law is being used as a tool of discrimination to Indigenous Australians. Before the case of Eddie Mabo, Indigenous Australian s ancestral lands that they were raised on were claimed for British purposes and benefits. After crossing paths with land rights advocates and legal minds, Eddie Mabo became of crucial importance to Indigenous Australian land law. Mabo was looking to seek a retreat from injustice concerning Indigenous Australians right to the land. After a ten year legal battle, often referred to as the Mabo Case, six out seven High Court Judges ruled that: The Meriam people are entitled as against the whole world, to possession, occupation, use and enjoyment of the lands of the Murray Islands . By showing that the Indigenous owned land as individuals and as families, and had clearly demarcated property boundaries, Mabo s battle for land rights proved successful. This succession paved the way for fair land rights for Australia s Indigenous people. • 11. Essay on Song Analysis Micheal Jackson- Beat It Selina Pearl Professor Finch English 109 03 August 2010 Michael Jackson Beat It In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still lives on, inspiring and touching people s heart. I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, and the reason why I picked this song is because it presents a strong message. Not only did Jackson make a powerful statement with his lyrics, he also made one with his choice of rhythm and beats. The guitars and drums that were used, give the song a dramatic rock vibe. According to music critics Jackson s album Thriller seemed to be inspired by a mixture of several genres which previously were never combined ( thrilleralbum). It is pretty obvious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second verse talks about making the right choice to just go away instead of shedding blood, and trying to be a tough guy. The third verse simply describes that even if one chooses to walk away, it is better to be alive than to risk it. The fourth verse in my opinion talks about the consequences of fighting and that if one chooses to be violent, chances are that they will get hurt. As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although No One wants To Be Defeated. It is better to go because in the end It Doesn t Matter Who is Wrong Or Right. Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself instead of proving yourself to others. It is not worth the struggle (songfacts). As I was analyzing the song, I was listening for specific sounds and noises that would symbolize the meaning of the song. I heard a police siren which could symbolize that if you get involved with gangs and violence, you will end up in jail. I also heard a snapping sound and deep breathing sounds. The breathing sounds could represent the sound of someone running away and catching a breath. I could detect sounds as if someone was getting punched and sounds of blades which could represent a fight. While searching for different meanings of the song I came across an interesting ... Invasion Of The Body Snatchers Analysis Invasion of the Body Snatchers was made during the Red Scare era where everyone in the United States was afraid of communism spreading across the country. This film is uniquely demonstrating how fast something can spread, especially when you let your guard down like they did when they fell asleep in the movie. The use of the pod in my opinion was to represent how easy it was to plant an idea in someone s mind. One thing about communism is it grew rapidly kind like how the pods grew in the movie. It didn t matter what the doc did or where they went someone in the movie always had a pod right around the corner for when they would go to sleep. • 13. Reflection Paper About Reflection Reflection Questions Out of all the stories that I heard my favorite story was titled the Power Of Love . The author drew me in by using a precise date and setting and that made me feel like I was there in that same setting. The way she detailed the setting and used a lot of the sense such as stating that the room she sat in was cold and as the doctor talked to her it turned chilly. The speaker used a lot of elements in her story, but one of the strongest elements that I found that would be extremely useful is how well she developed the story and how it was organized. She did not over complicate the story and spoke very eloquently. The manner in which she carried the story also made me understand her story easily and I would like to incorporate these elements in my story as well. My biggest challenge with this project is going to be vocalizing my story in a strong manner, because when I get nervous I tend to mumble. I hope that I do not mumble and that i convey my story clearly. Before the story: My sister had a boyfriend, although she was not allowed to date. She would take me along with her so that no one would suspect anything. I would go with her under the condition that she would buy me my movie ticket and food. How it began: It all started when I was in the 7th grade. My sister and I were going to go to the movies and as always I would be the one to wait on her, because she always took a long time getting ready. I was laying on my bed and listening to music. As I was waiting for her I looked in the mirror. I then suddenly noticed I had a unibrow. Ever since the fourth grade I was aware of that unibrow, but this time it was a scary one. How it began: I told myself do not worry no one will notice, but then i thought no your in middle school someone will notice. I then thought of another idea maybe I will shave it, get rid of that unibrow. That idea alone did not convince me so then I though maybe I should just get bangs and cut them right above my eyes and no one will even know. Then my sister starts yelling at me to hurry up the irony of that statement when it was always me getting her in trouble for being late. In my opinion private personal malpractice insurance is beneficial for APRNs regardless whether the employer offers it or not. • 17. Assess The Validity Of The Demographic Transition Model The demographic transition model is valid when applied to Djibouti, which is a lower developed stage 2 country, because of the economic, social, and health factors found on the human development index. The demographic transition model is valid because of economic factors such as the Gross Domestic Product per capita and labor force per occupation. In Djibouti, the average Gross Domestic Product is $3,100. This is a low income compared to many countries, which is a reason Djibouti is considered a lower developed country and classified as a stage 2 on the demographic transition model; it cannot afford many of the luxuries other developed countries can. Another economic factor that is found in Djibouti is the percentage of labor force occupations. It is estimated that about 75% of people work in agriculture, 11% of people work in industries, and 14% of people work in services. These statistics are due to the medical healthcare that still needs improvement and harsh agricultural lifestyle that takes place in Djibouti. Low life expectancies are found primarily in lower developed countries because of poor health conditions that still need improvement, and high infant mortality rates are found in lower developed countries due to the diseases and poor sanitation that is still present within the country. From the Broadbeach study, the investigation of offshore wave conditions erosion rates and sandbar morphodynamics, show that Broadbeach experienced some unusual experience during the study period. Given that the wave conditions on the Gold Coast were considerably less energetic, results suggest that Broadbeach s beach is significantly vulnerable and is more easily eroded than other beaches reported. Time series of offshore wave conditions combined with the evolution of the beach volume also suggests that the studied beach is more exposed to high erosion rates in the presences of NE to E swell. This trend is in agreement with visual observation all along the Gold Coast. However, the second and third storm wave events are estimated to be of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the first and second extreme events mentioned in the study, the 150m wide Coolangatta Beach experienced the most intense erosion because waves did not reach the vegetated dune. The beach then recovered markedly, which can be explained by the presence of the sand bypassing system and sheltering from he SE high waves (Castelle et al., 2007). The evolution of measured beach volumes over the study period strongly suggests that the Gold Coast beaches are not able to withstand a powerful succession of extreme vents. The first high wave event strongly weakened the beaches, which did not recover before the second high wave event of a magnitude not unusual along the Gold Coast. However, in these two cases, the storms resulted in surprisingly high erosion rates. Data from a more in depth investigation of Broadbeach, using video imagery, suggest that outer bar decay, resulting in a lack of protection of the sub aerial beach, may explain this high erosion. The present results show that high energy easterly swells have a considerable destructive power on both northern and southern Gold Coast beaches. Even though no tropical cyclone directly crossed the Gold Coast, which would have resulted in much higher energy waves and a more severe storm surge, the erosion measured is the most substantial of the past 30 years. The Gold Coast beaches investigated lost between 34 and 52m3/m, which, in terms of beach nourishment, is an extremely large amount of sand. This suggests hat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theory Of Scientific Revolutions In my essay I plan to argue that Thomas Kuhn was incorrect when he presented his theory that no paradigm is better than any other paradigm and how he believed that people who occupy different paradigms are in different universes, in his book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. I believe that there is no valid deductive or inductive support for incommensurability, there are examples against it throughout the history of sciencethat do not exhibit the discontinuity and replacement of paradigms, as Kuhn s incommensurability thesis predicts, but rather continuity and supplementation. If this is correct, then there are no compelling epistemic reasons to believe that Kuhn s incommensurability thesis is true or probable. The argument that the point of the same kind terms changes or ceases from one theoretical context to another, it does not fundamentally mean that these two abstract frameworks are taxonomically or methodologically incommensurable. Kuhn s theory takes a relativist stance and uses it to make all theories and paradigms equal with none being better than the other. This poses a major problem because the hope of scientific research is best said as For a realist conception of scientific progress also wishes to assert that, by and large, later science improves on earlier science, in particular by approaching closer to the truth. This is due to the fact that only news that is interesting is reported and only bad news is interesting. Gauchos social lives covered many interesting areas. These traditional acts decreased because of the new laws. Previously, gauchos would roam the pampa, continuously moving onward to unknown destinations. This freedom became restricted with the invention of the fence. The fence also impacted other areas of the gauchos lives including economically. The fence forced the change from a ranching to farming. The need for ranchers decreased, which put gauchos out of work. These fences also kept animals contained to specific pastures. Before this gauchos would kill roaming horses for fun, cattle for food and skins, and ostrich for feathers. These fences set territories that kept the gaucho from wandering freely. Another change that kept the gaucho from wandering freely involved vagrancy laws. The government targeted to the gaucho and aimed to get rid of them, or at least tame them. Gauchos now had to carry something similar to a travel permit. This again restricted their unique lifestyle. Because the government viewed the gauchos as good fighters, they enlisted many to serve in the military. This impacted their lives socially and economically. For example, John Tortorella, the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League has found success from yelling at players and criticizing them, but he actually went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2004 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, winning the Jacks Adam award for attributing the most to his teams success. • 26. A Discussion Of Socratic Irony As we can see, Kierkegaard traces a parallel between Socrates ironic practice and a picture. Furthermore, the effect of his rejoinders is likened to that of an image suddenly popping up while we stare at this picture. In order to get at Kierkegaard s point, we have to consider that this passage is contained inside a discussion of Xenophon s portrait of Socrates. In fact, the whole passage is meant those aspects of Socratic irony which Xenophon missed. In this regard, Kierkegaard writes that what he dislikes in Xenophon s treatment of Socrates is his failure to portray the two essential elements of Socratic irony. The first one is situation , the second one are his rejoinders . A bit below, Kierkegaard adds that [...] Socratic questioning is clearly [...] analogous to the negative in Hegel, except that the negative, according to Hegel is a necessary element in thought itself, is a determinant ad intra [inwardly]; in Plato [and therefore in Socrates] , the negative is made graphical and placed outside the object in the inquiring individual . This two ways of conceiving the negative give way to two modes of leading philosophical inquiry. In the first case, [...] one can ask with the intention of receiving an answer containing the desired fullness, and hence the more one asks, the deeper and more significant becomes the answer; or [in the second case,] one can ask without any interest in the answer except to suck out the apparent content by means of the question and thereby ... • 28. Literature Review On Visual Art Education This literature review is concerned with the effective and engaging way to deliver visual art lesson to students. This is a significant educational topic because research suggests that students engagement in the classroom has been distinguished as the important indicator for students academic success (Harbour, Evanovich, Sweigart, Hughes, 2015). Errey and Wood (2011) also suggest that the higher the level of students engagement will result in a better learning outcome. However, many students have fallen in the category of disengage during their classroom practice, which also includes art classroom. The existing literature on visual art educationproven that many students in art classroom claimed that they were bored and showed resistance in their art classes (Pennisi, 2013), they were also not as enthusiastic about their art project as the teacher (Andrews, 2010). So, the purpose of this literature review is to discuss several approaches for teachers to effectively deliver art education in the classroom. The existing literature on visual art education proven that there is little evidence of how teaching practice happens in the classroom (Mitchell, 2016). Mitchell (2016) also argues that although there are several types of research that provide the important information on the foundation of art educations, there is barely any information that proves how learning effectively occurs in the art education. This approach might include building a positive relationship (Keeffe, Lovejoy, Spenser Jones, Prain, 2013), the usage of technology in the classroom (Patton Buffington, 2016), applying student centered learning (Andrews, 2010). Student centered Learning It has been discussed that teacher needs to move away from teacher centered learning and using student centered learning instead. In this way, instead of being the commander in the classroom, teacher act as the facilitator and the guide for students, in which helping students in reaching their desired art projects. It is also necessary for visual art classroom to provide a condition where different students develop their own potential abilities (Tomljenovic, 2015). Discuss how theory and research in this area has been helpful or unhelpful in addressing human problems. Educational psychology has produced a vast array of theory and research that can be applied to educational settings to address problems that may occur. This essay will discuss how helpful, or not so helpful, research and theory has been in dealing with problems found in schools such as morality and understanding how children learn in order to create a rounded curriculum. Piaget was the first to create a systematic study of cognitive development, and although he did not specifically relate his theory to education others have gone on to do so. This has had many implications in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is support for this idea as according to Piaget practice on a task that you are not biologically ready for should not improve performance until sufficiently mature. Research supports this argument as it has been found that children aged 10 and 13 did not improve on formal operational tasks when tutored, but 17 years olds did (Danner Day, 1977) as Piaget s theory would expect. Therefore, the concept of readiness may be helpful in understanding why children may not show improvement on challenging tasks even with tutoring. If this is the case then teachers should revise the material they are teaching to make sure their age group is biologically ready to interpret the material. On the other hand, there is research that also contradicts the idea that a child has to be biologically ready to be able to learn something. Bryant and Trabasso (1971) showed that children in the pre operational stage could be trained to solve some logical tasks which, according to Piaget s theory they should not be able to do. Instead, they argued that children s failure was due to memory restrictions and not an absence of logical thinking that appears in the operational stage. They showed that when given suitable training 4 year olds showed good performance on these tasks. They then suggested that it is practice and not readiness that matters when children are learning new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two major behaviors observed are Prejudice and Stereotyping. These are identified as the causes of the events in the movie. The three main topics of this essay are, what do they say about the people who subscribe to them?, what are stereotypes?, and how have stereotypes affected your life (either by placing them on others or having them placed on you)? These all play a major role in the movie. What do they say about the people who subscribe them? In my opinion, stereotyping is just people assuming things about other people that they do not even know. Its like saying, one has never met an Arab or a Muslim before and one says that, All Arabs and Muslims are terrorists . People say All children hate healthy food , which is not true at all. Healthy green foods are what I loved to eat when I was younger. I eat them every day and still enjoy them, and I always will. People also say that Blondes are unintelligent which is not true, I know some very intelligent blondes. They are just assuming that all blonds are dumb. In my opinion stereotyping is a bad habit to start. Stereotyping people can hurt them very badly. I ve seen some people cry when others stereotypethem. These works are mainly journals, pamphlet, brochures, newspapers, magazines, and articles. Before delving into the subject matter, Judicial Activism, it is important first to understand what judicial philosophy means. Judicial philosophy can be described as the way that a judge cognizes and interprets the law. Even though laws are universal, they should be applied to particular cases with unique conditions. Contrariwise, a court is, on occasion, considered exaggeratedly restrained and passive the moment it refrains from defending the rule of law at large and individual liberties. This paper s goal is to look at the various dimensions of judicial activism, for instance, its history and the cases supporting it. It will also look into how judicial activism plays a role in the government, and why there is a necessity for more judges who are activists. The paper will also compare judicial activism with judicial restraint as well as explain which philosophy among the two is more preferable. Judicial Activism As stated earlier, judicial activism is when a court doesn t confine itself to an interpretations of laws that is reasonable, but rather create laws. Thus, judicial activism refers to judicial rulings assumed to be based on political or personal considerations instead of on the existing law. Externally it is probably best for the company to hire the floor staff, although it comes as a cost default, the company can then develop, invest and motivate these workers in their own unique way.
