Alzheimer s Disease, And Vascular Dementia
Abstract Dementia is considered to be discovered by a German psychiatrist by the name of Alois
Alzheimer. This discovery was made during the process of his examination of a patient with unusual
behavior. In that discovery he found similarities that are linked to having Alzheimer s disease.
Dementia is known as being a slow, yet steady decline of one s mental ability. The disease eventually
becomes so severe that it will interfere with one s daily living ability. This is not one specific disease,
but a term used overall describing a wide range of symptoms associated with the declination in
thinking skills, and memory. There are two major types of Dementia that are most commonly seen.

specific disease, but a term used as overall way of looking into a wide range of symptoms associated
with decline in thinking skills, and memory. The behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia
(BPSD) are common serious problems that affect the quality of life for both the patients with such
symptoms as well as their caregivers. BPSD present a major challenge in the medical management of
patients and are the major cause of institutionalization. Alzheimer s disease (AD) is the most common
type of dementia in Taiwan. A particular study shows that a systematic literature review on BPSD
studies and found that Taiwanese patients with AD exhibit many of the BPSD. Studies showed that
between 30% and 63% of Taiwan s AD patients experienced delusion. Hallucination occurred less
frequently, which ranged from 21% to 26%. Anxiety occurred in 35 76% of patients and depression 22
50%, sleep abnormalities 26 61% and 39 46%. The differences in the prevalence of BPSD might result
from the different clinical settings and evaluation instruments. The

The History Of Childhood Disadvantage By Veronica Strong Boag
Fostering A Nation Canada Confronts It s History of Childhood Disadvantage, written by Veronica
Strong Boag, discusses the history of child welfare in Canada. Strong Boag explains how there is a
dark side of Canada s response to the lives of children in private homes and institutions in Canada in
the 1900s. Her argument has been stated clearly on page 3, Fostering Nation? Explores the missteps
and detours of a century and more of child protection efforts by Canadians and their governments as
they confronted the specter if children judged neglected, abused, deficient, and delinquent.
Furthermore, her goal is to uncover her argument through first hand accounts from children at the time
and first parents and their kin, surrogate parents and those responsible for children not of their own.
This review will discuss Strong Boag s book in three parts, her clear concise layout, an excellent job
with organization her thoughts, and her passion behind her writing. Strong Boag s, Fostering A Nation,
deserves many praises for a well rounded book. Firstly, the book is very clear and to the point. This
allows the reader to grasp her points and opinions easily, the author is an excellent writer, and that she
has knowledge in the area being discussed. This can be seen very well in the introduction, where she
states what the seven chapters in her book will be discussing. More importantly, she states which
chapter she is going to discuss in the paragraph, and what it will

autonomous robot to maintain privacy in assistive environments. Security and Communications
Network. February 8, 2011. DOI: 10.1002/sec.253.
The article explains how an autonomous robot (specifically ARTOS) can take care of elderly people
and not hinder privacy. The article uses logic and experiments to give credibility to their point. This
article relates to other privacy articles being used. It provides insight to how these robots do invade
privacy, but how they have been designed and are being designed to stop the problem. Through the
use of experiments, the article provides good credible information of the use of autonomous robots in
assisting the elderly. The article also provides good insight to the privacy issue with robots and how
producers are trying to eliminate or prevent this problem.

Review of Psychology. September 14, 2016. 10.1146/annurev psych 010416 043958.
Broadbent explains how robots are being used today. She goes into further detail by explaining how
some of these uses are causing problems and how people react to robots. The article uses a logical
appeal to emphasize her point. This logical appeal is evident through the use of statistics and figures.

Carol Ann Duffy Shooting Stars
Carol Ann Duffy s poem Shooting Stars is a poem in which human suffering is effectively portrayed.
Duffy uses the situation of Nazi persecution of the Jewish people to underline this. Duffy s use of an
ambiguous title, together with her imagery effectively explores this theme of human suffering.
The poem s title Shooting Stars creates a sense of ambiguity. The general connotations applied to this
phrase are that of a falling star or perhaps the beauty and brightness of fireworks. However it is not
until we reach the actual content of the poem that we realise that the stars in question are those Stars
of David, sewn on to the garments of Jews on the order of the Nazi regime. Duffy establishes the
darkness and horror of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the closing stanzas of the poem Duffy once again highlights the immensity of the horror of those
events by contrasting them with the civilised activities of the human being i.e. the tea on the lawn and
the boy washing his uniform . And these activities apply to the reader, as they read of such events and
yet return to their everyday lives, they run to our toys to the oblivion that forgetfulness brings. She
uses ellipsis once more, only this time the soil of time is shovelled over Sara Ezra ...We forget all too
quickly.
The final lines end on a note of tragedy for the poet returns us to the inside of the concentration camp
where inside the wire ...strong men wept . The poet again emphasises the extent, the immensity of this
event, when strong men are unable to tolerate this. This return back to the concentration camps also
shows the cyclic nature of suffering in Duffy s message to the reader, humans inflict suffering unto
other humans and then when the events have been forgotten they are repeated. The closing lines of the
poem Turn thee/unto me with mercy for I am desolate and lost is a reworking of verse six teen Psalm
twenty five which is a prayer from King David to God in which David places his absolute trust in
God. Extending this idea in that the Jews themselves ask the

He Who Dares Wear Essay
It all started with detachment The S.A.S was officially founded during World War II by a man named
David Stirling. David created the so called L Detachment, Special Air Service brigade. He created this
brigade to help infiltrate North Africa. Despite the name having people infer that many people were in
this unit, there were little people in the unit. They had less paratroopers for a reason, and his reason
was to throw off the Axis and make them believe they had more men than they actually had. After
World War II the S.A.S was closed because Britain didn t feel a need for them anymore, but two years
after the war a new S.A.S regiment was created. The S.A.S deal with counter terrorism, covert
reconnaissance, direct action and hostages. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Have you ever heard of Tom Clancy s Rainbow Six Siege? This game created by Ubisoft has been out
for almost three years and has a growing fan base. What does this have to do with CTU s you re most
likely thinking. Well this game uses attack/defense rounds in it and the players get to choose
characters from various CTU s for example you can play as the GSG9, the SAS, the Navy Seals and
the FBI SWAT. This is only a small list of playable characters, but Ubisoft went to the next level by
having each CTU have realistic weapons and gadgets that the CTU would use in real life. For example
one of the SAS characters Smoke uses toxin releasing smoke grenades, and something the SAS are
known for is their use of smokes and wearing gas masks to protect from their toxins.

Sea Creatures Categorized as Zooplankton, Nekton, and...
There are many different creatures in the ocean. They are categorized into 3 different groups that are
Zooplankton, Nekton, and Benthos. In the ocean the zooplankton eat phytoplanktons. Zooplankton are
eaten by all of the larger animals. Phytoplankton self reproduce so they don t need to eat other things.
They create their own food. The Nekton eat the zooplankton because it is a smaller species than the
rest. Some of the most dangerous animals to both humans and other sea animals are Leopard Seals.
Leopard Seals are the second largest species in the Antarctic. The Sea Leopard can be found mainly in
Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and the Atlantic Ocean. It is estimated to live 26 years, some
sea leopards live beyond 26 years of age. Leopard seals mainly eat other seals, penguins, fish and krill.
The leopard seal is a big animal with a dark grey back and a white stomach. It was given the name
leopard seal because it has spots on its throat. Their front teeth are sharp and their teeth lock in a way
so they can kill easier and keep the other fish in it s mouth if it wasn t completely dead. The leopard
seal can usually be found in a pack. It spends most of the time in the water. Leopard seals don t make
much noise except a few grunts and it sometimes growls. A torpedo ray has a soft yet fat and flabby
body. It has loose skin and a muscular tail. They have electric organs that are shaped like kidneys.
They are pretty slow animals but they can cause a lot of harm.

Archaeologists destroy the sites they excavate. This has been one of the major criticisms that has been
lobbed at archaeologists for years. When archaeologists excavate a site, the common practice of
digging and removing artifacts is sometimes frowned upon by the communities in the surrounding
area. In the 1800 s people s views of indigenous communities where reprehensible to say the lest
American Indians were held to be inferior to civilized men in order to rationalize the seizure of Indian
lands, and that eventually, racial myths grew to supplant any other myths about Indians as a
justification for waging war on Indians and violating their treaties. (Watkins 2000: 6) This trend
continued into the 1900 s, but the degradation that indigenous and to some extant non indigenous
communities have experienced is still present to this day, but it is not as prevalent as it was in the past.

The Problem Of Total Joint Force
The problem the total Joint Force (JF) 2025 will face will be consistent emerging gray zone threats
that include hybrid and near peer competitors trying to tip the balance in the global security
environment. In addition, as the Department of Defense (DOD) learned from past wars while its
resources reduce, the total JF 2025 must adapt and become more agile in countering these emerging
threats. The DOD has provided the strategic and military guidance along with associated posturing
statements for the complementary capabilities of strategic adaptability and agility that will enable the
rebalancing of the total JF 2025, support future contingency operations, and mitigate risk. Recently
General Dunford stated, a ready JF is one that can effectively meet the steady state requirements of the
combatant commanders, deter our adversaries, and respond decisively in the event of a contingency.
The total JF in 2025 will need to adapt and become more agile faster than these emerging threats. It
will also need to continue deterring global adversaries if it wants to sustain enduring strategic and
operational success while remaining decisive in supporting the national defense strategy.
The DOD has released multiple documents since 2012 in support of developing its defense strategy.
First, the 2012 Defense Strategic Guidance and 2014 Quadrennial Defense Review, established
priorities that included, rebalance to the Asia Pacific region, maintain security in Europe and the

Minority Group Marginalization
Marginalization of minority groups has been a problem in the United States for a quite a long time.
Even the government and the society have set some rules and constraints against certain minority
groups in the United States. One of the minority groups is the homosexual groups. Many states of
United States marginalized the issue of same sex marriage so much that they placed ban on same sex
marriage. In those states, even the police officers treat same sex marriage people as criminal because
of their sexual preference. Another minority groups is the disability groups. The disable people
experience prejudices and faced various discriminatory treatment from the government. So like the
disable people, many other minority groups face the health disparities. In the ariticle, Culturally Based
Explanations of Minority Students Academic Achievement it was mentioned that minority groups are
classified as autonomous, immigrant, or caste like in the political view of the society (Trueba, 1).
Stereotyping from the government and social groups is also are common problem faced by the
minority group.
Moralization of the minority groups makes difficult for the adolescence to develop the minority
identity. In the article, Eating disturbances among American minority groups: A review, it was
mentioned that the risk factor of eating disorder are greater among the female in the minority groups
who identify herself with White, middle class values, younger and better educated (Crago,

Essay about Colon and Rectum Cancer
The American Cancer Society estimates that over 100,000 men and women living in the United States
will be diagnosed with colon cancer in 2013. Statistically, cancers of the colon and rectum are often
combined and referred to as colorectal cancer. This addition brings the total to over 140,000 affected
individuals with over 50,000 of these diagnoses resulting in death (American cancer society, 2013).
Globally, the impact of this disease reached over one million people in 2008 with over 600,000 deaths
attributed to colorectal cancer (Dusek, Maluskova, Musik, 2013). Colon cancer is preventable with a
healthy diet, exercise, and curable with regular bowel exams. However, signs and symptoms of colon

When these cells become neoplastic they begin to grow into the layers of the colon and beyond as
well. This event facilitates contact with capillaries and lymph vessels and cancer cells can then break
off and migrate through the entire body (McCartney Oberleitner, 2011). The risk of cancer increases
with age, and colon cancer is included in this factor with 62 being the most common age at diagnosis
(McCartney Oberleitner, 2011). Repeated exposure to carcinogens over time can cause mutations in
DNA, especially in highly mitotic epithelial cells, resulting in cancerous growths. An immune
response in a young and healthy body would destroy the early formation of cancer cells.
Unfortunately, individuals of advanced age suffer a decrease in the capabilities of the immune system.
This puts them at a higher risk of dysplastic cells multiplying in the colon. Genetics may induce the
coding of certain genes within cells to undergo spontaneous mutations. (Labianca, Nordlinger, Beretta,
Brouquet, Cervantes, 2010). This factor produces the cluster of colon cancers seen in families. The
risk of an individual getting cancer of the colon increases when immediate family members have
received a diagnosis in the past. The rate of occurrence decreases when isolated extended family
members develop the disease. However, if several people in one family group such as cousins, aunts
and grandparents are diagnosed, the risk for the rest of the members of that

Introduction
Nowadays, more and more firms have shown interest in international business and it is still an
expanding field of research today. In addition, many small and medium sized enterprises are trying to
integrate into the world economy so that they are able to get more frequent opportunities in the global
market. In order to analyze this research, this thesis will focus on the opportunities and challenges
facing small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which aim to become international firms. When
looking at becoming an international business, there are two popular methods that are used, which is
to form an alliance or become part of a joint venture. Therefore, this essay will also critically evaluate
which method is highly efficient and feasible when looking at those two paths. Following the
information provided I aim to give the reader a deeper understanding regarding the importance of
small and medium sized enterprises. More, in this essay I will use one of the designer s brands victim

Women In Christian Churches
Devin Doran Professor Manning TRS 276 B September 27, 2016 Should Women Be Ordained As
Priests or Rabbis? Why or Why Not? Despite all the exceptional services and great humanitarian
works, the Catholic Church is still one of the most dominant and unshakable patriarchies with
doctrines that don t support equality in the ordainment of priests. The question of women ordination in
the Christian churches is a very controversial topic that mostly divides the church into oppositions. In
the Roman Catholic churches, women are not allowed to be priests because of male religious
dominance that doesn t allow women in leadership positions. On the other hand, most women are
nowadays ordained in most Protestant churches. For instance, in the 19th century, ... Show more

Historically, the prevailing cultural norm on the role of women in the church has been diminishing and
even though there has been a decrease in cultural biases against women in society, the church is still
strict and maintains its male dominated culture that doesn t give fair opportunity to women. Currently,
the Roman Catholic religion is maintaining the tradition that doesn t allow women ordination as
priests. Many who support the ordination of women priest are dissatisfied and restless with the
realization that no matter how much they are determined to play a huge role in the church the church,
is only prepared for a limited service from women. For a church to run its operations successfully, it
needs all the help it can get especially on the human resource, which is available in the church, but it
seems women are not good enough for the church to fully engage them up to the priesthood level
(Schmid Frederick 15). To me, this is very unfair and instead of taking a step forward in society this
idea is taking a step backwards and not modernizing our

Antonio Stradivari s Influence On Future Generations Of...
Antonio Stradivari is quite often referred to as the greatest violin and stringed instrument maker to
ever live. Much of this credit is given to Stradivari because people simply know his name. Countless
violinists have expressed over the years the great frequency that people always ask them if they own a
Stradivari instrument or not. The reality is, although Antonio Stradivari was certainly a master at his
work, he was not the only one to create stringed instruments and certainly was not the first to do so.
People remember Stradivari because of the quality of the instruments that he made. Much of our basis
for stringed instruments to date has been, however, influenced by Antonio Stradivari. The basis for
Stradivari s influence on future generations of musicians and instrument makers was shaped by events
that happened before Stradivari was born, the perfectionist way he established his workshop, his
death, and the physics and name of his instruments.
Many factors helped to create modern string instruments as Stradivari knew them. First, the viol
created a strong basis for the modern violin. The viol was a Renaissance instrument that was bowed
just like the modern violin, but was fretted and softer than the violin. The viol was a favorable
instrument to learn because they were suitable for both courtly and religious music as they had a good,
unique sound and were very portable. These qualities were all passed onto the violin and to other
stringed instruments.

The Purpose Of Collective Memory In The United States
Political communities, nations and/states, have been formed from shared territory, a constitution, and
perhaps most importantly through a collective memory. Memory is traditionally understood as a way
of maintaining information, typically a personal and individual affair. But collective memory serves a
purpose of connecting the some past experience of a group of individuals to the present to form a
narrative. Identity claims, when pushed, characteristically seek something else: to establish the
sameness, the continuity, of a person or community across time and in the face of apparent change
(Booth 1999, p.249). Memory can be a dividing or uniting tool, it split communities into various
shared identities, sometimes aligning with state lines

Analysis Of The Movie The Shell
Andrew Burgos
Japanese anime has been a focal point of artistic expression in eastern culture since the 1950s. By
utilizing a combination of action sequences, vivid imagery, and compelling narratives these forms of
art reveal the artists cultural influences as well as serving as a medium for the artist to convey his
social and political beliefs. Mamoru Oshii s Ghost in the Shell, is no exception. Ghost in the Shell is a
cyberpunk version of a near future Earth where society is completely reliant on technology and
cybernetic humans depend heavily on the software used to create them. Within this narrative we see a
cybernetic female that exists as two cohesive entities, a cybernetic shell in which she was created into,
and a ghost, a concept that serves the purpose of acting as a human conscience. Using this
technological dependent reality, Oshii creates a visual masterpiece that acts as a battleground for
conflicting representations of power within the concept of gender as well as representing a desire to
liberate ourselves from the self imposed gender constructs that we adhere to. Many forms of anime
exist within society, ranging from stories of adventures to the exploits of high school students. Ghost
in the Shell falls under the category of a mecha anime, a sub genre that ...are primarily science fiction

There have been numerous laws in the past that have enforced discrimination. One example are the
Jim Crow laws in the south that prevented blacks from obtaining equality in society for about 100
years. Affirmative action of the courts and prison systems which discriminates against Blacks and
Hispanics, gives them 20% longer sentences, targets their neighborhoods, racially profiles, weakens
minority neighborhoods electorally, created the culture of fatherless homes as a reaction to the Civil
Rights Movement, fills prisons with low level offenders for petty drug offenses, with illegal searches

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been a vital part of the Wal Mart Corporation s growth. At
the beginning of the 1990s, Wal Mart trailed K Mart which at that time could negotiate lower
wholesale prices due to its huge size. Part of Sam Walton s strategy for catching up was to set up a
point of sale system. Such a system is a computerized network that identifies each item that is sold,
locates the price in a computerized database. After this, the system creates an accurate customer sales
receipt and stores item by item sales information for use in analysis of sales and reordering inventory.
The strategic use of this helps Wal Mart avoid overstocking issues by learning what merchandise
items are slow sellers. This has made Wal Mart s inventory and distribution system a world leader. For
example, in 5 year period, Wal Mart invested somewhere above $600 million IT Wal mart: attaining

The Battle Of The Spanish Civil War
It s safe to say that, even if someone claims to know little to nothing about Spain s history, the names
Franco, Hitler, and Mussolini ring a bell in their mind. Simply being able to recognize these names
proves some knowledge on the subject of the Spanish Civil War, lasting from 1936 to 1939. For those
who are unsure as to what qualifies as a civil war, dictionary.com defines it as, a war between parties,
factions, or inhabitants of different regions within the same nation . In the case of the Spanish Civil
War, the fight was between the Spanish republican government and the Nationalist military.
Representative of the impeding power struggle between extremists in support of fascism and
communism, the war began on July 18th, 1936 as an uprising by several Spanish officers. This
uprising would spark the three year Spanish civil war that ultimately resulted in a 40 year dictatorship.
The left wing was referred to as the loyalists and the republicans. The groups that supported and
comprised the republican cause were workers, peasants and trade unions, the Spanish government, and
the three factions, the socialists, communists, and anarchists. In addition to these groups, the
International Brigades, including the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, which was made of American
volunteers willing to travel to aid the republican cause in the civil war, the Soviet Union, and other
European Democracies, supported the republic. Many foreign artists and intellectuals such as Earnest

The Ages And Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)
The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) was first developed in the 1980 s at the University of
Oregon. The tool s purpose is to provide a low cost strategy to monitor the development of infants and
young children whose developmental status is in question or at risk. The ASQ has shown to produce
high specificity across questionnaire intervals but with lower and varying levels of sensitivity
(McKnight, 2014). One of the key recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics is early
recognition of neurodevelopmental impairment, so the ASQ is way for providers to screen their
patients for possible delays or impairments. The ASQs consist of 19 developmental questionnaires
designed to be completed by parents or caregivers at different intervals from 4 60 months of ... Show

As compared with formal examinations, the ASQs have been shown to be both cost effective and
easily administered (Gollenberg, Lynch, Jackson, McGuinness, Msall, 2010). There are five areas of
development that are assessed on the ASQ, which are communication, gross motor, fine motor,
problem solving, and personal social. The questionnaire can be filled out by the parent or caregiver
in10 20 minutes and scored in 1 5 minutes, so it is very time efficient assessment tool to use in the
outpatient setting. The ASQ has been validated in many counties, in different languages and settings,
and performs well with children with biological risk factors as well as those with environmental risk
factors (Schonhaut, Armijo, Schonstedt, Alvarez, Cordero, 2013). For scoring, the child s scores in
each of the areas are compared to the cutoff points listed on the scoring sheet. The scores from the tool
are compared with established norms to determine if a child is delayed in one or more areas. Scores
beneath the cutoff points indicates a need for further assessment, scores near the cutoff points call for
discussion and monitoring, and scores above the cutoff suggest the child is on track

Essay on the Structure of William Faulkner s A Rose for...
The Structure of A Rose for Emily
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily is a story that uses flashbacks to foreshadow a surprise ending.
The story begins with the death of a prominent old woman, Emily, and finishes with the startling
discovery that Emily as been sleeping with the corpse of her lover, whom she murdered, for the past
forty years. The middle of the story is told in flashbacks by a narrator who seems to represent the
collective memory of an entire town. Within these flashbacks, which jump in time from ten years past
to forty years past, are hidden clues which prepare the reader for the unexpected ending, such as hints
of Emily s insanity, her odd behavior concerning the deaths of loved ones, and the evidence that the ...

When the people of the town try to explain away her odd behavior, they did not say she was crazy
then (paragraph 28). This implies that although at that time she wasn t considered insane, and although
the narrator never states so directly, there will come a time when she will be.
An important idiosyncrasy of Emily s that will help the reader to understand the bizarre finale of the
story, is her apparent inability to cope with the death of someone she cared for. When deputies were
sent to recover back taxes from Emily, she directed them to Colonel Sartoris, an ex mayor that had
told her she would never have to pay taxes, and a man that had been dead for ten years. Years before
this incident, however, after her father had died, she continued to act has if he had not, and only
allowed his body to be removed when threatened with legal action. Considering the fate of her lover s
corpse, one suspects she would have kept her father s corpse also, had the town not known of his
death.
Littered throughout the story is evidence that the murder took place. When Emily takes up with
Homer Barron, a man whom the narrator makes clear was not the marrying kind; rumors start to fly
about the two at a time when it was not considered proper for a man and woman to live together. The
town, her relatives, and the Baptist minister disapproved of the relationship, and Emily was in danger
of loosing Homer. A year after the relationship begins, and the pressures to either marry

3d Printers And Its Effects On The World s Vision
3D Printers The technologies are being developed quickly and change the world s vision. 3D printing
is the innovation that will make the further breakthrough and turn the world upside down. One can
print everything, starting from the plastic figures finishing with the tools, clothes, bicycles, weapon,
and human body organs using the stem cells. Moreover, there are the printers that are capable of
replicating itself. Three dimensional printing transforms the computer model of the object into a really
existing one applying many thin layers that are programmed on the computer. This type of printing
creates an impression of the objects appearing from nowhere. The modern printers can print from a
number of the materials. Most printers print in a material called polylactic acid, which is a non toxic
bioplastic often derived form corn and is the same material that compostable cutlery and coffee cup
lids are often made from. (Guide to 3D Printers). However, it is possible to create objects from the
metal powder, biomass, food substances, and the others. A big choice of the target materials broadens
the capability of the printing endlessly. The above mentioned technological innovation can be applied
in the medicine. The Princeton University managed to print an ear by means of biomass with a high
quantity of the stem cells that are capable of transforming into the cartilaginous tissue. It is not a full
fledged ear but a tool for detection of the radio waves. The scientists tried

Personal Statement In System Biology
Since the encounter to Network Motifs by Uri Alon s book Design Principles of Biological Networks
during my Integrated Masters at University of Hyderabad; systems biology has immensely captivated
me. Further in time; academic courses, workshops and projects guided me to unearth this as the area
that I want to pursue as my research. Although new, this field gives a holistic perspective to the
historically reductionist outlook of the biological systems.
While living organisms are interesting and exciting to think about, yet they have baffled scientists
since the beginning. Now interdisciplinary groups are working together address questions in these
systems. I want to work on complexity of biological systems using dynamical systems theory and
network analysis. These approaches in systems biology give an insights into intricate events such as
cell functions and diseases.
Though we have come a long ahead in 21st century, we still have before us an ordeal of the most
grievous kind: disease. Diseases affect not only the person physically, but also whole family

Professional Development Opportunities For Employees
Introduction As a newly acquired organization, our workforce is struggling to embrace the new
procedures, policies, and corporate environment. This has created an organizational climate with
dwindling motivation and low morale. A new rewards and recognition program will demonstrate to all
levels of employees and Stakeholders, that the organization is committed to providing clarity and
motivation as we all adjust to the many new procedures, policies, and practices required by the
merger. This proposal is a comprehensive plan in which goal setting based on job description,
organizational need, and the expectations of employees and supervisors is completed. The plan will

After the merger, customer satisfaction, as noted by formal surveys and informal feedback, has been
lower than ever. Based on the all the information available, it seems that the lower customer
satisfaction scores are related to the overall climate of our organization during this period of change.
Addressing the issues presented by employees and customers will require our organizational leaders to
adopt many strategic initiatives. Background of Current Rewards and Recognition Program The
organization did not have a formal program in the past that provided feedback on employee
satisfaction, engagement or employee job performance. The current program is used more as an
incentive for financial reward based on time line completion. The program does not take into account
the employees talents, knowledge, engagement or satisfaction with the current role and does not foster
future job growth, increased income, or job satisfaction. Recently, the organization utilized Gallup to
poll our employees on employee satisfaction, engagement or employee talents based on job duties.
Disconnect Between Company and Employees The disconnect, between the top level organization and
employees, has resulted in a significantly reduced level of engagement among employees. Gallup
research shows that 13% of

The Service Of Service Design
We have learnt from Servicer Strategy that service means to provide guidance on design, and how to
implement them according to the needs of the customer. From the service lifecycle Service Design
comes after the service strategy (Annexure A). The service design is not limited to new services, but
also to old services which are need to improve the service design which are necessary to maintain the
value to customers. The main objective of service design is designing an innovative idea or to change
an existing design into a live environment. To change a design or to implement there are several
requirements. These requirements are taken from the service portfolios and they are analyzed. There
are teams which will indulge in this process and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They said that design is moving closer to the social innovation linking its characteristics at different
levels. For example, service and relationships to social needs or improving life conditions and social
situations.
In order to successfully implement the plan of design or projects of service management there has to
be efficient use of 4P s: The People, the Process, the Products and the Partners. To function the service
management, the 4P s must be overlapped to each other. There should balance between all the 4P s to
ensure safe and appropriate design. The design approach must be comprehensive, because most of the
problems faced by the organizations are focus on the functional requirements. The design architecture
should be considered from all the aspects. Therefore, there are several design aspects, they are:
Service level management, Availability management, Service catalogue management, Security
management, Capacity management, IT service continuity management.
Service Level Management:
Service level management is an important link between IT and business. Service level provides a good
foundation for good quality service, cost reduction IT services and ensuring compliance with the
service goals and customer s expectations. An effective service level system will always ensure that
the key aspects are met in time where risks is not into picture. For an effective business, IT service

The Heat Death of the Universe
The hypothesis about heat death of the universe
Our knowledge of the universe is still negligible, and we can not confidently assert that the universe is
not under the influence of external forces, or may be considered as a thermodynamic system.
However, it is the concept of heat death was the first step to realize the possible finiteness of the
Universe, although we do not know when and on what scenario will happen of its destruction.
At the present stage of existence (13.72 billion years), the universe radiates as a black body with a
temperature of 2,725 K. Its maximum to the frequency 160.4 GHz (microwave radiation), which
corresponds to a wavelength of 1.9 mm. It is isotropic up to 0,001% the standard deviation of
temperature is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, such a state is not in thermal equilibrium, and in fact there is no thermal equilibrium for such a
system, as it is thermodynamically unstable.[8][9] However, in the heat death scenario, the energy
density is so low that the system can be thought of as non gravitational, such that a state in which
energy is uniformly distributed is a thermal equilibrium state, i.e., the state of maximal entropy.
The final state of the universe depends on the assumptions made about its ultimate fate, and these
assumptions have varied considerably over the late 20th century and early 21st century. In a closed
universe that undergoes recollapse, a heat death is expected to occur, with the universe approaching
arbitrarily high temperature and maximal entropy as the end of the collapse approaches.[citation
needed] In an open or flat universe that continues expanding indefinitely, a heat death is also expected
to occur[citation needed], with the universe cooling to approach absolute zero temperature and
approaching a state of maximal entropy over a very long time period. There is dispute over whether or
not an expanding universe can approach maximal entropy; it has been proposed that in an expanding
universe, the value of maximum entropy increases faster than the universe gains entropy, causing the

Mary Queen Of Scots Summary
Lauren Lefevers
World history

Mary Queen of Scots
The book I chose to read was Mary Queen of Scots. The author of this book is Sally Stepanek. The
book was published by Chelsea House Publishers in 1987 with a total of 110 pages. The book is about
Mary Stuart and her life as a queen and also as a prisoner. It tells of the hardships she had went
through and the good times too.
To me the book mostly over sees the hardships Mary had went through. Like having to leave her home
land when she was an infant to having her throne taken away by her own son that disowned her. She
had three husbands that all left her as a widow. While the book is about Mary s life it also tells a lot
about others too. I did not like the book because I felt as though it was repetitive in some parts and
also it was not as interesting as I thought it was going to be. I do believe that if people besides me that
were interested in it, it would be very successful book, but to me I would not purchase or read this
book again.
Second of all, the book is all about Mary s life from birth to her unfair death. The author often tells
about the fighting between the Protestants and Catholic Church. It also tells of her three husbands and
her many lovers threw her life. The important conclusions is that Mary was Queen of France and
Queen of Scots, also how she was tried for treason and the murder of her second husband Lord
Darnley. Also there was a battle over the infant Queen with

The Making of a Legend
What does it take to be a legend? How far would one go to be a legend in something one enjoys?
Jordan Burroughs will go the the ends of the earth to considered a legend in the sport of freestyle
wrestling. He went from underdog to top dog with years of hard work, unrelentless training, and never
giving up on his dream to be a legend in mans oldest sport...wrestling.
In ancient Greek mythology, Zeus wrestled Cronos in a battle over the universe in which of course
Zeus won. The great event was celebrated by making wrestling the last event in the Pentathlon. Back
in Ancient times greek men wrestled covered in olive oil and naked. To win one had to throw his
opponent or knock him down, but ancient greece was not the only ones who wrestled. In Mesopotamia
Sumerian caves had drawings in them of wrestling that dated back at least 7,000 years. Over in the
village of Beni Hasan, Egypt historians found wrestling how to drawings in tombs.
In present day wrestling a new up and coming star named Jordan Burroughs is taking the International
Freestyle Circuit by storm. Burroughs is 25 years old and became the seventh U.S. wrestler to win
three Olympic or world titles. Burroughs joined Bruce Baumgartner, Kevin Jackson, Leroy Kemp,
Mark Schultz and John Smith. Burroughs and Smith are the only two wrestlers in U.S. history to win
back to back world or Olympic titles. Jordan is also hoping to join John as the only as the only
wrestlers to win all six Olympic and world titles in a 6 year

Pachucos Research Paper
There are many characteristics of Pachucos. Write down three characteristics found in the chapter.
Vigil states that the Pachucos characteristics involved dress, manners, and social attitudes, and
Pachucos took much pride in their creations (220). Further, the zoot suit (a suit that the hip urban
crowd wore in the 1940s) became the Pachuco, with male and female versions (Vigil 220).
Consequently, I think that is interesting that the Pachucos had a suit that represents them characteristic
wise. Moreover, I can only think of a few clothing characteristics that represent Americans, but not a
special suit. Furthermore, the second characteristic is The Pachuco dialect, for example, although it
included Hispanicized English, Anglicized Spanish, and invented words in Nahuatl and Archaic
Spanish, was mainly made up of Calo Spanish gypsy slang, supposedly popularized by bullfighters
(221). Furthermore, I think it is interesting that the Pachucos had a Spanish gypsy slang because I

like Ay te watcho, which means I ll be watching you, chante, meaning shanty, daime means dime,

evolved a Tex Mex argot, often created by adding a Spanish sound at the beginning or end of an
English word (cookiar, watchiar, parkiar, marketa, and so on) (Vigil 220). Indeed, that is extremely
interesting that the languages were combined, I feel like sometimes in America people will try to

The Accuracy Of Performance When It Came
The purpose of our experiment was to look at the accuracy of performance when it came to encoding
information and then looking at the probability of our ability to recall information. Based on previous
research done by Craik and Lockhart and the ones mentioned above, it can be assumed or even highly
justified that our experiment will share similar results. There will be little to no difference when it
comes to identifying the answers to the questions that are being asked based on the level of difficulty
for encoding information. Deeper levels of processing will have a higher significance when it comes
to recalling information as opposed to other levels of processing. Even when lures are presented, there
will be no significance when coming in contact with semantic words as opposed to letter and rhyme.
Method Participants A total of 20 college students. One man and nineteen women of a large City

Mate Selection
Mate selection is an evolutionary process in which selection is dependent on the attractiveness of an
individual s phenotypic trait, such as age and sex. For example, women feel that reliability,
dominance, wealth and generosity are important in a mate, while men believe attractiveness and
creativity are important. Women investment more time in searching for a mate because women are,
typically, responsible for birthing and raising a child and need a mate that would protect her and their
offspring and provide for them. Men, on the other hand, do not invest much in mate selection. When
resources are scarce, women seek resources in their mate and man look for attractiveness. However,
the goal is to locate the best possible mate. Age differences

It is often described as being a slow, yet steady declination of one s mental ability that eventually becomes severe enough to interfere with one s daily living ability. The illness is considered to be discovered by a German psychiatrist by the name of Alois Alzheimer. Dementia is not limited to one specific disease, but a term used as overall way of looking into a wide range of symptoms associated with decline in thinking skills, and memory. The behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) are common serious problems that affect the quality of life for both the patients with such symptoms as well as their caregivers. BPSD present a major challenge in the medical management of patients and are the major cause of institutionalization. Alzheimer s disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia in Taiwan. A particular study shows that a systematic literature review on BPSD studies and found that Taiwanese patients with AD exhibit many of the BPSD. Studies showed that between 30% and 63% of Taiwan s AD patients experienced delusion. Hallucination occurred less frequently, which ranged from 21% to 26%. Anxiety occurred in 35 76% of patients and depression 22 50%, sleep abnormalities 26 61% and 39 46%. • 3. The History Of Childhood Disadvantage By Veronica Strong Boag Fostering A Nation Canada Confronts It s History of Childhood Disadvantage, written by Veronica Strong Boag, discusses the history of child welfare in Canada. Strong Boag explains how there is a dark side of Canada s response to the lives of children in private homes and institutions in Canada in the 1900s. Her argument has been stated clearly on page 3, Fostering Nation? Explores the missteps and detours of a century and more of child protection efforts by Canadians and their governments as they confronted the specter if children judged neglected, abused, deficient, and delinquent. Furthermore, her goal is to uncover her argument through first hand accounts from children at the time and first parents and their kin, surrogate parents and those responsible for children not of their own. This review will discuss Strong Boag s book in three parts, her clear concise layout, an excellent job with organization her thoughts, and her passion behind her writing. Strong Boag s, Fostering A Nation, deserves many praises for a well rounded book. Firstly, the book is very clear and to the point. This allows the reader to grasp her points and opinions easily, the author is an excellent writer, and that she has knowledge in the area being discussed. This can be seen very well in the introduction, where she states what the seven chapters in her book will be discussing. Using an autonomous robot to maintain privacy in assistive environments. Security and Communications Network. February 8, 2011. DOI: 10.1002/sec.253. The article explains how an autonomous robot (specifically ARTOS) can take care of elderly people and not hinder privacy. The article uses logic and experiments to give credibility to their point. This article relates to other privacy articles being used. It provides insight to how these robots do invade privacy, but how they have been designed and are being designed to stop the problem. Through the use of experiments, the article provides good credible information of the use of autonomous robots in assisting the elderly. The article also provides good insight to the privacy issue with robots and how producers are trying to eliminate or prevent this problem. Broadbent, Elizabeth. • 5. Carol Ann Duffy Shooting Stars Carol Ann Duffy s poem Shooting Stars is a poem in which human suffering is effectively portrayed. Duffy uses the situation of Nazi persecution of the Jewish people to underline this. Duffy s use of an ambiguous title, together with her imagery effectively explores this theme of human suffering. The poem s title Shooting Stars creates a sense of ambiguity. The general connotations applied to this phrase are that of a falling star or perhaps the beauty and brightness of fireworks. However it is not until we reach the actual content of the poem that we realise that the stars in question are those Stars of David, sewn on to the garments of Jews on the order of the Nazi regime. Duffy establishes the darkness and horror of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the closing stanzas of the poem Duffy once again highlights the immensity of the horror of those events by contrasting them with the civilised activities of the human being i.e. the tea on the lawn and the boy washing his uniform . And these activities apply to the reader, as they read of such events and yet return to their everyday lives, they run to our toys to the oblivion that forgetfulness brings. She uses ellipsis once more, only this time the soil of time is shovelled over Sara Ezra ...We forget all too quickly. The final lines end on a note of tragedy for the poet returns us to the inside of the concentration camp where inside the wire ...strong men wept . The poet again emphasises the extent, the immensity of this event, when strong men are unable to tolerate this. This return back to the concentration camps also shows the cyclic nature of suffering in Duffy s message to the reader, humans inflict suffering unto other humans and then when the events have been forgotten they are repeated. The closing lines of the poem Turn thee/unto me with mercy for I am desolate and lost is a reworking of verse six teen Psalm twenty five which is a prayer from King David to God in which David places his absolute trust in God. Extending this idea in that the Jews themselves ask the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. He Who Dares Wear Essay It all started with detachment The S.A.S was officially founded during World War II by a man named David Stirling. David created the so called L Detachment, Special Air Service brigade. He created this brigade to help infiltrate North Africa. Despite the name having people infer that many people were in this unit, there were little people in the unit. They had less paratroopers for a reason, and his reason was to throw off the Axis and make them believe they had more men than they actually had. After World War II the S.A.S was closed because Britain didn t feel a need for them anymore, but two years after the war a new S.A.S regiment was created. They even have a game based on CTU s Have you ever heard of Tom Clancy s Rainbow Six Siege? This game created by Ubisoft has been out for almost three years and has a growing fan base. What does this have to do with CTU s you re most likely thinking. Well this game uses attack/defense rounds in it and the players get to choose characters from various CTU s for example you can play as the GSG9, the SAS, the Navy Seals and the FBI SWAT. This is only a small list of playable characters, but Ubisoft went to the next level by having each CTU have realistic weapons and gadgets that the CTU would use in real life. For example one of the SAS characters Smoke uses toxin releasing smoke grenades, and something the SAS are known for is their use of smokes and wearing gas masks to protect from their toxins. 4. • 7. Sea Creatures Categorized as Zooplankton, Nekton, and... There are many different creatures in the ocean. They are categorized into 3 different groups that are Zooplankton, Nekton, and Benthos. In the ocean the zooplankton eat phytoplanktons. Zooplankton are eaten by all of the larger animals. Phytoplankton self reproduce so they don t need to eat other things. They create their own food. The Nekton eat the zooplankton because it is a smaller species than the rest. Some of the most dangerous animals to both humans and other sea animals are Leopard Seals. Leopard Seals are the second largest species in the Antarctic. The Sea Leopard can be found mainly in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and the Atlantic Ocean. It is estimated to live 26 years, some sea leopards live beyond 26 years of age. Leopard seals mainly eat other seals, penguins, fish and krill. The leopard seal is a big animal with a dark grey back and a white stomach. It was given the name leopard seal because it has spots on its throat. Their front teeth are sharp and their teeth lock in a way so they can kill easier and keep the other fish in it s mouth if it wasn t completely dead. The leopard seal can usually be found in a pack. It spends most of the time in the water. Leopard seals don t make much noise except a few grunts and it sometimes growls. A torpedo ray has a soft yet fat and flabby body. When archaeologists excavate a site, the common practice of digging and removing artifacts is sometimes frowned upon by the communities in the surrounding area. In the 1800 s people s views of indigenous communities where reprehensible to say the lest American Indians were held to be inferior to civilized men in order to rationalize the seizure of Indian lands, and that eventually, racial myths grew to supplant any other myths about Indians as a justification for waging war on Indians and violating their treaties. (Watkins 2000: 6) This trend continued into the 1900 s, but the degradation that indigenous and to some extant non indigenous communities have experienced is still present to this day, but it is not as prevalent as it was in the past. The Problem Of Total Joint Force The problem the total Joint Force (JF) 2025 will face will be consistent emerging gray zone threats that include hybrid and near peer competitors trying to tip the balance in the global security environment. In addition, as the Department of Defense (DOD) learned from past wars while its resources reduce, the total JF 2025 must adapt and become more agile in countering these emerging threats. The DOD has provided the strategic and military guidance along with associated posturing statements for the complementary capabilities of strategic adaptability and agility that will enable the rebalancing of the total JF 2025, support future contingency operations, and mitigate risk. Recently General Dunford stated, a ready JF is one that can effectively meet the steady state requirements of the combatant commanders, deter our adversaries, and respond decisively in the event of a contingency. The total JF in 2025 will need to adapt and become more agile faster than these emerging threats. It will also need to continue deterring global adversaries if it wants to sustain enduring strategic and operational success while remaining decisive in supporting the national defense strategy. Even the government and the society have set some rules and constraints against certain minority groups in the United States. One of the minority groups is the homosexual groups. Many states of United States marginalized the issue of same sex marriage so much that they placed ban on same sex marriage. In those states, even the police officers treat same sex marriage people as criminal because of their sexual preference. Another minority groups is the disability groups. The disable people experience prejudices and faced various discriminatory treatment from the government. So like the disable people, many other minority groups face the health disparities. In the ariticle, Culturally Based Explanations of Minority Students Academic Achievement it was mentioned that minority groups are classified as autonomous, immigrant, or caste like in the political view of the society (Trueba, 1). Statistically, cancers of the colon and rectum are often combined and referred to as colorectal cancer. This addition brings the total to over 140,000 affected individuals with over 50,000 of these diagnoses resulting in death (American cancer society, 2013). Globally, the impact of this disease reached over one million people in 2008 with over 600,000 deaths attributed to colorectal cancer (Dusek, Maluskova, Musik, 2013). This event facilitates contact with capillaries and lymph vessels and cancer cells can then break off and migrate through the entire body (McCartney Oberleitner, 2011). The risk of cancer increases with age, and colon cancer is included in this factor with 62 being the most common age at diagnosis (McCartney Oberleitner, 2011). Repeated exposure to carcinogens over time can cause mutations in DNA, especially in highly mitotic epithelial cells, resulting in cancerous growths. An immune response in a young and healthy body would destroy the early formation of cancer cells. Unfortunately, individuals of advanced age suffer a decrease in the capabilities of the immune system. This puts them at a higher risk of dysplastic cells multiplying in the colon. Genetics may induce the coding of certain genes within cells to undergo spontaneous mutations. (Labianca, Nordlinger, Beretta, Brouquet, Cervantes, 2010). This factor produces the cluster of colon cancers seen in families. The risk of an individual getting cancer of the colon increases when immediate family members have received a diagnosis in the past. Despite all the exceptional services and great humanitarian works, the Catholic Church is still one of the most dominant and unshakable patriarchies with doctrines that don t support equality in the ordainment of priests. The question of women ordination in the Christian churches is a very controversial topic that mostly divides the church into oppositions. Much of this credit is given to Stradivari because people simply know his name. Countless violinists have expressed over the years the great frequency that people always ask them if they own a Stradivari instrument or not. The reality is, although Antonio Stradivari was certainly a master at his work, he was not the only one to create stringed instruments and certainly was not the first to do so. People remember Stradivari because of the quality of the instruments that he made. Much of our basis for stringed instruments to date has been, however, influenced by Antonio Stradivari. The basis for Stradivari s influence on future generations of musicians and instrument makers was shaped by events that happened before Stradivari was born, the perfectionist way he established his workshop, his death, and the physics and name of his instruments. Many factors helped to create modern string instruments as Stradivari knew them. First, the viol created a strong basis for the modern violin. The viol was a Renaissance instrument that was bowed just like the modern violin, but was fretted and softer than the violin. The viol was a favorable instrument to learn because they were suitable for both courtly and religious music as they had a good, unique sound and were very portable. These qualities were all passed onto the violin and to other stringed instruments. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, there are the printers that are capable of replicating itself. Three dimensional printing transforms the computer model of the object into a really existing one applying many thin layers that are programmed on the computer. The book is about Mary Stuart and her life as a queen and also as a prisoner. It tells of the hardships she had went through and the good times too. To me the book mostly over sees the hardships Mary had went through. Like having to leave her home land when she was an infant to having her throne taken away by her own son that disowned her. She had three husbands that all left her as a widow. While the book is about Mary s life it also tells a lot about others too. I did not like the book because I felt as though it was repetitive in some parts and also it was not as interesting as I thought it was going to be. I do believe that if people besides me that were interested in it, it would be very successful book, but to me I would not purchase or read this book again. Second of all, the book is all about Mary s life from birth to her unfair death. The author often tells about the fighting between the Protestants and Catholic Church. It also tells of her three husbands and her many lovers threw her life. The important conclusions is that Mary was Queen of France and Queen of Scots, also how she was tried for treason and the murder of her second husband Lord Darnley. Also there was a battle over the infant Queen with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Making of a Legend What does it take to be a legend? How far would one go to be a legend in something one enjoys? Jordan Burroughs will go the the ends of the earth to considered a legend in the sport of freestyle wrestling. He went from underdog to top dog with years of hard work, unrelentless training, and never giving up on his dream to be a legend in mans oldest sport...wrestling. In ancient Greek mythology, Zeus wrestled Cronos in a battle over the universe in which of course Zeus won. The great event was celebrated by making wrestling the last event in the Pentathlon. Back in Ancient times greek men wrestled covered in olive oil and naked. To win one had to throw his opponent or knock him down, but ancient greece was not the only ones who wrestled. In Mesopotamia Sumerian caves had drawings in them of wrestling that dated back at least 7,000 years. Over in the village of Beni Hasan, Egypt historians found wrestling how to drawings in tombs. In present day wrestling a new up and coming star named Jordan Burroughs is taking the International Freestyle Circuit by storm. Burroughs is 25 years old and became the seventh U.S. wrestler to win three Olympic or world titles. Burroughs joined Bruce Baumgartner, Kevin Jackson, Leroy Kemp, Mark Schultz and John Smith. Burroughs and Smith are the only two wrestlers in U.S. history to win back to back world or Olympic titles. Jordan is also hoping to join John as the only as the only wrestlers to win all six Olympic and world titles in a 6 year ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Pachucos Research Paper There are many characteristics of Pachucos. Write down three characteristics found in the chapter. Vigil states that the Pachucos characteristics involved dress, manners, and social attitudes, and Pachucos took much pride in their creations (220). Further, the zoot suit (a suit that the hip urban crowd wore in the 1940s) became the Pachuco, with male and female versions (Vigil 220). Consequently, I think that is interesting that the Pachucos had a suit that represents them characteristic wise. Moreover, I can only think of a few clothing characteristics that represent Americans, but not a special suit. Furthermore, the second characteristic is The Pachuco dialect, for example, although it included Hispanicized English, Anglicized Spanish, and invented words in Nahuatl and Archaic Spanish, was mainly made up of Calo Spanish gypsy slang, supposedly popularized by bullfighters (221). Furthermore, I think it is interesting that the Pachucos had a Spanish gypsy slang because I have never heard of Spanish gypsy slang before. Lastly, the third characteristic is Many of the Pachuco generation escaped the worst effects of marginality and, as a result, became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Write down some examples of this concept. Notable, some examples of this could include the words like Ay te watcho, which means I ll be watching you, chante, meaning shanty, daime means dime, brecas means breaks, bote means jail, and ganga means gang (Vigil 220). Furthermore, In Texas there evolved a Tex Mex argot, often created by adding a Spanish sound at the beginning or end of an English word (cookiar, watchiar, parkiar, marketa, and so on) (Vigil 220). Indeed, that is extremely interesting that the languages were combined, I feel like sometimes in America people will try to imitate another language by combining it with the English language. For example, people in America will try to imitate the way Asians speak through writing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Accuracy Of Performance When It Came The purpose of our experiment was to look at the accuracy of performance when it came to encoding information and then looking at the probability of our ability to recall information. Based on previous research done by Craik and Lockhart and the ones mentioned above, it can be assumed or even highly justified that our experiment will share similar results. There will be little to no difference when it comes to identifying the answers to the questions that are being asked based on the level of difficulty for encoding information. Deeper levels of processing will have a higher significance when it comes to recalling information as opposed to other levels of processing. Even when lures are presented, there will be no significance when coming in contact with semantic words as opposed to letter and rhyme. Method Participants A total of 20 college students. One man and nineteen women of a large City University, Queens College. The mean age of the participants was 20 and were chosen through convenience sampling. Participants were not compensated for their participation because it was part of their course fulfilment. Materials The experiment was performed in a lab room where everyone had access to a computer and the internet. The experiment was performed online with clear instructions. First, they were shown a study part of the experiment, which included Letter, Rhyme, and Semantic questions, followed by the testing part for recall with lure words that were used as ... • 38. Mate Selection Mate selection is an evolutionary process in which selection is dependent on the attractiveness of an individual s phenotypic trait, such as age and sex. For example, women feel that reliability, dominance, wealth and generosity are important in a mate, while men believe attractiveness and creativity are important. Women investment more time in searching for a mate because women are, typically, responsible for birthing and raising a child and need a mate that would protect her and their offspring and provide for them. Men, on the other hand, do not invest much in mate selection. When resources are scarce, women seek resources in their mate and man look for attractiveness. However, the goal is to locate the best possible mate. Age differences ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
