Painting At The Oklahoma City Museum Of Art
On September 4, 2016, I visited the Matisse in His Time exhibit at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
This exhibit is home to a plethora of pieces by many different European artists from the 19th and 20th
centuries. While it is focused on Matisse and his extensive works, containing more than 50 of his
pieces, there are many portraits and sculptures by other influential artists from that time period
including Renoir, Picasso, and Georges Braque. Three of the most appealing works that I encountered
in this exhibit are Maurice de Vlaminck s Portrait of Père Bouju, Pablo Picasso s Reclining Woman on
a Blue Divan, and Henri Matisse s sculpture series Henriette I, Henriette II, and Henriette III.
One of the most visually intriguing pieces in the exhibit is the Portrait of Père Bouju by Maurice de
Vlaminck. It was painted around the year 1900 by the French artist. It is not particularly beautiful by
normal standards. At first glance, the texture of the paint stands out more than any other feature. It has
very strongly defined brush strokes and thick paint in portions, especially the face of the man and the
background. The lines in the paint are mostly straight, short, and wide with some that are thinner and
wavy, like the smoke. The man is in the center of the canvas, he is the only discernable image, and he
is almost devoid of detail aside from the face and the hat. The colors are almost entirely neutral aside
from the red scarf. In this oil on canvas portrait the man is wearing a

Tossing, turning, and waking up three times before the sun knocks on my window is what my sleep
usually consists of. Not to mention the heat trying to strangle me as I wake up gasping for breath

realization that separation is what took away the equality. In the early 1950s, schools in Topeka,
Kansas segregated people by race, leaving Linda Brown and her sister to walk through a hazardous
railroad switchyard to get to the bus stop for their school. There was a school closer to where they
lived, however, it was an all white school. Linda and her family saw the segregation systems as a
violation of the Fourteenth Amendment and took it to court. Federal district courts claimed the
segregation was harmful to African American youths, however due to the similar qualities the all black
and all white schools shared, it was deemed fully constitutional under the separate, but equal doctrine.
The case was taken to the Supreme Court and the court expressed that even though the schools shared
similar facilities, segregated schools could never be equal. As such, the separate, but equal doctrine
was overruled as it violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This decision
resulted in the precedent that any laws that segregated people, no matter how similar their facilities

Tenochtitlan and Po. And Ix. Both took place in Mexico and both shared facts about Mexico and the
land in different ways. One mostly told a mythical story but talked about the landform as the other
talked about how people in Tenochtitlan and nonfictional facts about the land and city. So both are not
the same but they share some common interest. The Tenochtitlan story mainly told about a city in
Mexico and how they survived and lived. It describes how they developed on the island and how the
city first originated. Life over there was also involved with the Aztecs and why they made the choice

However, they re both located near the same city and both take place in Mexico. Tenochtitlan was
primarily based on an urban development structure as the other was based on a tragic romance based
on a bad lie told to the married warrior and princess. I m probably sure that they shared the same
culture since there both in the same country and possibly practice the same ceremonies and practices,
so yeah they could have some similarities and some could be contrasted. Both can t be compared too
easily mostly because of the type of story it is and because of what they tell about, but they did have

I Believe that Piracy Should Be Legal
1. I strongly believe that piracy should be legal. To begin with, the overseeing of private distribution is
regulated without set standards and guidelines, almost arbitrarily, and only exists because there exists
the assumption that piracy negatively impacts the people that put in work to produce the goods or
services in question. From the business standpoint, the driving stance behind those that are against
piracy is that piracy is equated to stealing. This is an unreasonable fallacy when it comes to online
piracy. It is understandable in the real world, using a car as an example, if you steal a car; the original
is no longer there. However, if you were to pirate a movie or a textbook, it is still available for
purchase from the creator. Parallels cannot be drawn between online piracy and the real world.

Discussing Theories And Types Of Systems
Discussing theories and types of systems was a process of looking at situation from a distanced and
unrelated point of view. Some concepts were easier to understand because I had previously
experienced them or realized my part in a specific system. The first part of the course brought up a lot
of questions about the application and ways in which these processes occurred. This approach led to
many discussions and ideas about why specific situations were classified as they were within the
dynamic systems.
Throughout these last sessions, it was evident that many of these theories and concepts could be
applied, and visually placed on maps. However, it was represent our ideas visually through mapping
that was a hard process in these experiential sessions. This became our complicated system through
the project. As we looked retrospectively through our progress in each session, we changed words and
arranged ideas as we felt would make sense, and would help us represent our intentions more
