Essay On Caregiver Strain
Additional research was conducted by Reid (2011) to explore whether caregiver strain is linked to
child maltreatment, if experiencing maltreatment is associated with risk inflating behaviors or sexual
denigration of self or other, and if these behavioral and psychosocial dysfunctions are related to
vulnerability to commercial sexual exploitation. The sample included data from 174 predominately
African American women. The results indicated that child maltreatment worsened with an increased
caregiver strain. Experiencing child maltreatment was also linked to running away, initiating
substance use at earlier ages, and higher levels of sexual denigration of self or others. The sexual
denigration of self or others was significantly related to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The sample consisted of data from 426 individuals who were between the ages of 14 and 24 years old.
The results indicated that 41 percent of the sample were consistently sheltered. These individuals often
were in the younger age group, did not use drugs other than alcohol or marijuana, they were less
involved in informal sector activities, they were able to go home, and were typically homeless for one
year. Approximately 20 percent were inconsistently sheltered for a short term. These individuals were
often able to go home and not have had to leave on one s own accord. Roughly 39 percent were
inconsistently sheltered for a long term. The findings suggested the importance of preventing
homeless youth from spending nights in unsheltered locations. Future research is needed that recruits
youth from the street setting in order to identify additional trajectories of homelessness. However, the
timing of the assessments may have limited the number of trajectories that were identified and the
study did not evaluate whether childhood neglect or abuse were predictors of youth remaining or
returning to shelters (Tevendale, Comulada, Lightfoot,

Similarities Between Rama And Gilgamesh
The themes of myths speak to concerns for every human being. This shows that different cultures are
interconnected and share ideas. From reading the Epic of Gilgamesh we can begin to understand the
values help by ancient Mesopotamian society. By reading the Ramayana we can analysis the religion
and world view of Hinduism. Many ancient stories seem to parallel each other. Although stories are
written in diverse cultures, there tend to be likenesses, especially between the protagonists. This is true
with the stories of the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Ramayana when it comes to the depictions of their
hero s.
A hero is described as a figure who is recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments. Joseph
Campbell says all hero s follow a certain path. First, they go through a separation, then an initiation.
They go through an initiation to show their worth as a hero, then they return and are reintegrated with
society after learning a lesson. Hero s should also be relatable, which is why they often go through
crisis and failures. Even though they contrast each other, Rama from the Ramayana and Gilgamesh
from the Epic of Gilgamesh have similar archetypes of the hero.
The characters of Rama and Gilgamesh have multiple similarities that are shown in their stories. Rama
and Gilgamesh are both examples of Campbell s hero because they both go through separation,
initiation, return. To be considered a hero, the character must go on a quest and show his heroic
qualities. This is true in

Claims About Wrong Strategic Direction Summary
Authors Claims about Wrong Strategic Directions Even though this book was focused on the role of
logistic revolution, the real intention of the authors was to apprehend the consequences and results of
logistics revolution in relation to the employees and workers. Bonacich, Edna and Wilson, (2008:VII)
shows their intention in the beginning of the book with the following statement, this book tells the
story of those workers and the work they do to get us the goods we all depend on . This statement
demonstrates the importance of the workers in respect to delivering the goods to the end consumers.
Likewise, the authors also made the following statement, We are interested... in their potential for

In this case, the company has demonstrated its powerful position in respect to the suppliers and
workers, thus being able to create the conditions where the costs are quite low, and the revenues are
generated. On the other hand, some researchers agree that such large retailers as Wal Mart are able to
maintain strong control over the suppliers and this may be considered as benefit for the suppliers
(Bloom and Perry, 2001). It was revealed in the recent research that the suppliers that manage only
small market share tend to demonstrate poor organisational performance in contrast to the situation
when they have Wal Mart as the primary retailer (Bloom and Perry, 2001). Consequently, this implies
that Wal Mart contributes to the strong supplier performance as well as their stable and strong position
on the market, despite the financial pressures that Wal Mart puts on the suppliers (Bloom and Perry,
2001). This way, Wal Mart contributes not only to the generation of its own revenues but also to the
stable ad ongoing supplier revenue generating process in an indirect way (Turner, Katz and Hurd,
2001). From the economic perspective, this activity contributes to the national economic performance
of the domestic market, namely USA (Turner, Katz and Hurd, 2001). This implies that stability of the

The Scarlett Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay
Middle class women in the early nineteenth century became known only for their passionless sexuality
and the ability to bear children (Myers Shirk). While married men had the option to impregnate any
woman they chose, women had the primary responsibility of raising the children while remaining
faithful. During this era, common practice dictated that only women would face prosecution for
infidelity or else face charges of a serious crime (Mawa). Society s frame of mind during this time
served to place men at the top of the gender hierarchy until, later in the century (Myers Shirk). The
notion that women received unjust treatment as compared to men also existed in the literature of that
era. The Scarlett Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne illustrates the disparity of equality at the time.
In this book, the author writes of a woman, Hester Prynne, who committed adultery and bore a child
out of wedlock. Hester s punishment handed down by the church resulted in incarceration followed by
parading her through the town in an effort to shame her for her misdeeds (Hawthorne).
During this time period, women in New York formed a Female Moral Reform Society Program. This
program s primary goal encouraged women to end men s immoral view of them in general.
Specifically, the program appealed to society to view women as more than just a vessel for
reproduction. Moreover, there existed an inherent desire to educate future generations with regard to
the respect that women

Observation Of The Bon Ton House
The last house I observed was in the Bon Ton Historic District as well and is located at 610 South
Wilson Avenue. This house was built back in 1904 which was later than the other houses I had
previously observed. Due to the difference in time periods this house has a Colonial Revival style
which shows the colonial heritage but it also has a Craftsman style. The colonial style can be seen in
the columns, corner boards, and the front porch. This house also has a bay window which the previous
houses also included. The Craftsman style can be reflected in the overhanging eaves, and rafter tails of
the house. The roof of the house is asphalt and the foundation type of this house is different from the
previous house being stone instead of concrete.

profession when he receives a letter from a detective Tobias Gregson, who asks for help to discover
who was the murderer of E. J. Drebber. Watson joins Holmes to the crime scene, and he observes how
Holmes works and gives clues about the murderer to the police only using his observation skills.

Conflict (main problem or situation)
E. J. Drebber, a possible American businessman, is found killed in a hotel room without any injury or
blood on his body even though there are marks of blood surrounding the body. Some clues found are a
woman s ring and the German word Rache , which means revenge, which confuses to the police.
3. Raising actions (events that highlight or stress the conflict)
Sherlock Holmes observes the crime scene and jumps into conclusions based on his observation skills
and works alone to solve the crime. Later, Detective Gregson tells Holmes he thinks Arthur
Champertein is the murderer because Drebber tried to abuse and marry Arthur s sister, but this theory
is refuted when Lestrade lets them know that Joseph Strangerson, Drebber s secretary, was found
dead.
4. Climax (the most important event that comes near the end)
Sherlock Holmes knows who is the killer, but he does not say the name to Lestrade and Gregson
because they could ruin the plan. However, Holmes sets a trap at the moment when the detectives are
with him, and he arrests Jefferson Hope, the murderer, who pretended to be a cab driver all the

What Is The Difference Between Hinduism And Confucianism
Hinduism is a major religion in India as well as Nepal and a few other Asian countries. It has more
than 900 million followers throughout the world but interestingly, this religion has no single founder,
no single scripture and no single set of teachings that are uniformly believed and followed by all
Hindus. Hinduism is said to exist as a supreme being while both Buddhism and Confucianism are
based on the teachings of a man while Taoism revolves around a concept.1 (Kokemuller, J.) All of
them have similarities and differences to a great extent. Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism and it s
founder Gautama lived the life of a Hindu. Both religions share a few common features. Both
religions originated in the Asian sub continent, both religions believe in reincarnation and both believe
that there can be different paths taken to attain enlightenment. Both religions feel that we suffer from
our attachment to worldly things and people. Both religions believe in meditation and different forms
of yoga.5 (C. Lester, R, 1993) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Hinduism and Taoism believe that the individual goal of a person is to realize their self. Both
religions promote good health and vitality. In Hinduism the ultimate goal of a person is to achieve
unity with Brahman who is unnamable and likewise in Taoism the main goal in a person s life is to
work towards unifying with the Tao which is the same as being unified with the world.2

Short Story On The Roof Woof
Woof, woof! is a simple expression of feeling that makes my day better. You most likely already have
in mind that the expression you just heard was a dog. But, have you thought about letting them inside?
Dogs every day pass on to a better life than what we gave them. At least that s what I believe in. I
believe in an afterlife for all. Humans and animals all deserve a better life. But when you think about
it, dogs have feelings and can feel pain too. Leaving dogs outside this season is wrong, and you need
to do something about it.
Let them at least go outside and do their business, but take them inside and wrap them up in a blanket
of some kind afterwards. This will warm them up and melt any ice that may have stuck to their paws

Social Cost
The Social Costs of Academic Success across Ethnic Groups is a study conducted by Thomas E.
Fuller Rowell and Stacy N. Doan in 2010. The main intention behind this research was to explore the
long term comparison between academic achievement and social acceptance across different ethnic
groups in a sample of adolescents. In order to find out the race/ethnicities as well as social acceptance
of the participants they conducted in home interviews. In order to find the GPA, they utilized self
reports. The results of this research show that social acceptance is positively correlated with GPA.
African Americans and Native Americans adolescents have a bigger social cost with academic success
than White adolescents do. These findings also suggested that students of Mexican decent also show
different social costs within their achievement.
This research article possessed many strengths. The authors did an exceptional job in including all
factors such as gender, SES, ethnicity, minority groups, single parent families, school and
neighborhood disadvantages in regards to its correlation with academic success. The authors also did a
good job in providing support on other studies in order to make their hypotheses more credible.

articulations. When they are utilized appropriately, it can turn into a solid apparatus to create and
enhance the business. Leaders of organizations ought to make propelling words for the workers to
unmistakably help them to remember the fundamental motivation behind the firm. By putting forth
inspiring, and mindful proclamation, it is less demanding to speak with representatives to ensure they

vision statements are future based and are meant to inspire and give directions to the employees of the

designed to convey a sense of why the company exists to both members of the company and the

system that makes Toronto proud, and the mission is to provide a reliable, efficient and integrated bus,
streetcar and subway network that draws its high standards of customer care from our rich traditions
of safety, service and courtesy (TTC corporation, 2013). Making Toronto proud of TTC can only be
accomplished when customers and the riders feel the convenience in our everyday travel with TTC.
No special advertisement, trademarks and no purge political showy behavior can supplant real
conveyance. Equally important, to provide a reliable, efficient and integrated transportation, the TTC
faces a real challenge because pride and loyalty from customers are not achieved from best looking
and cleanest transit vehicles, it comes from how reliable they are and personally the TTC is lacking on
reliability due to frequent delays and lanes closing for construction (Ferreira, 2016). In contrast, transit
organization in Korea, Seoul Metro focuses on safety, service and smart as values and the vision is to
dream bigger by communicating with customers (Seoulmetro, 2016). Seoul Metro s vision and values
do not have the word reliability in it, I trust that it is on account of Seoul Metro has as of now
accomplished faithfulness from clients for being solid and stable. Then again, different from TTC,
Seoul Metro has visions on carrying out cultural projects to make subway stations into warm,

opposite. Jay Gatsby, whom the story is centered around, is a young, wealthy, and charismatic young

Van Gogh Starry Night Analysis
Vincent van Gogh stated, Instead of trying to reproduce exactly what I have before my eyes, I use
color more arbitrarily in order to express myself more forcibly. (Gogh) Instead of trying to recreate a
piece of art, van Gogh uses color randomly or on a personal whim to express himself and put his
personality as an artist into his own work of art. Vincent van Gogh, born in
1853 is a post Impressionist painter who is responsible for painting the magnum opus Starry
Night. In the painting, Gogh puts style front and centered, a post impressionist masterpiece. The curve
lines are meant to bounce our eyes between the stars. Created in 1889, it was painted solely from

With regard to the relationship between government spending and private consumption, two opponent
points of view can be found. The first one states that there is a relation of substitution between
government spending and private consumption. However, the other one concludes that government
spending and private consumption are complements. Therefore, it can be easily seen that it is a
controversial issue for both economists and policy makers. According to the literature, several studies
have been done to test the relationship between government spending and private consumption in the
context of industrialized countries, OECD countries, and some Asian countries. Of course, Egypt was
not one of these studied cases. Moreover, when a study was done to investigate this point of research

The Social Phenomenon Of Female Juvenile Prostitution Essay
SAVING OUR GIRLS
Nikia S. Gettridge
Understanding Prostitution
The social phenomenon of female juvenile prostitution is a serious problem that is difficult to
understand and troublesome to acknowledge. The fact that young girls are finding their way into the
complex system of prostitution is often met with disbelief (OJJDP, 2002).
In order to understand prostitution, it is necessary to understand:
1. Lethal gender inequality
2. Incest and other childhood sexual assault
3. Poverty and homelessness
4. The ways in which racism and colonialism are inextricably connected with sexism in prostitution
5. Domestic violence, including rape
6. Posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, mood and dissociative disorders as consequences of
prostitution
7. Drug and alcohol addiction
8. The fact that prostitution is a global business which involves interstate and inter country trafficking
as a necessary part of its profitable operation
9. In nondominant states the ways in which economic development programs erode traditional ways of
living
10. The need for culturally relevant treatment
11. The ways in which diverse cultures normalize and promote prostitution, stripping, exotic dancing,
nude dancing, table dancing, phone sex, trafficking, child and adult pornography, lap dancing,
massage brothels, and peep shows as prostitution (ProstitutionResearch.com)

Love is a romantic emotion that people may have for one another. Confessing this love for a person
could be one of the most fearful things that one can do. Love can be expressed in many ways and that
is through actions and with words. In Hamlet 1.3.78. the author uses both of these things. We see a
male falling in love with the female of his dreams. He wants to do whatever he can to be with her.
Soto used a combination OF contrast, descriptive language, and figurative language to help convey his
theme. In line 3 It says, Alas I confess that I am not true to myself but to/you... and the reader can tell
that he wants her to know these things. Even though he s not honest with himself, he says he will

Analysis Of Las Meninas ( Maids Of Honor, By Diego Velazquez
Las Meninas (Maids of Honor) by Diego Velazquez, is a Bourque style Spanish painting from the
1700 s, which is known as Velazquez s masterpiece as an artist and his life as a court painter. Some
say Las Meninas is, This work, one of the most perfect fac similes of nature that art has ever produced,
and which Girodano called la teologia de la pintura, is among the latest productions of the artist
(Curtis 14). Velazquez s masterpiece was so highly endorsed by many, thus is why Las Meninas was
referenced as the la teologia de la pintura, also known as the theology of the painting, which is a great
honor to receive. The painting portrays the royal family s daughter and her servants posing for what
looks to be, Diego painting a portrait on a large canvas. However, a reflection of a mirror in the
background shows the royal parents, King Philip IV of Spain and his Queen Mariana watches over
Velazquez as he works, thus gives off the illusion that they are looking at this from outside the painted
area (audience view). According to Albert Fredrick Calvert, Velazquez painted the scene for us to view
as it must have appeared to the royal parents. With them we gaze at the sunlight flooded space where
the child drama is enacted (Calvert 165). While it has been highly questioned throughout the years,
whether the portrayal of the portrait is of the royal daughter and her servants or if it is a portrait of the
royal parent s reflection, thus is what makes this painting one of Velazquez s greatest pieces of work.
Diego s vision for this masterpiece was to show what his life and career has become as a celebrated

Velazquez could give off light throughout the room, which makes the painting give off much more of

A Man By The Name Of Species By Charles R. Darwin
Introduction
A man by the name of Charles R. Darwin published a book that was titled On the Origin of Species by
Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life, (typically
called The Origin of Species). Published in 1859, this book caused a great dispute in the world of
science. You see, in his book Darwin was just trying to answer an age old question How Did We Get
Here? without ever referring to a supernatural creator. This book shocked the science community. Up
until now, science was linked to god. The idea to some people that science and God were not together
was astonishing. But to others it was horrendous. These people couldn t believe a scientist who didn t
refer to God as a natural part ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He mainly concentrated on the finches. Many science historians give credit to the birds (Darwin s
Finches) in inspiring Darwin s theory. Let s look at the birds. Bird 1 has thick long beak. Bird 2 has a
thick short beak. Bird 3 has a tiny stub like beak while bird 4 has a short narrow beak. Also their food
preferences varied between the species. The big beaked birds could crack a shell of an egg, while the
small beaked birds could only eat insects. What does this prove? They are a good example of micro
evolution. They show us that finches can vary in their morphology, and that natural selection has a
role in this. HOWEVER...This study does not give evidence for macro evolution, and does not prove
that natural selection and random mutation could produce the living world as we know it from simple
single celled ancestors.
Microevolution VS. Macroevolution
Darwin was able to derail an idea that each individual species on the earth was specially created by
God and could never fundamentally change. How? Darwin compared domestic the domesticated
versions of many animals with that of their wild counterparts. Example. Wild dogs behaved different
from domesticated dogs. Fact most domesticated dogs cannot reproduce with wild ones. Thus
domestic dogs were considered a whole different species however, domestic dogs were only wild dogs
that the breeder trained. Dog breeders would selectively mate these dogs that had allowed
reproducing. This manmade selection Darwin realized this

A Hurricane Research Paper
A hurricane is a tropical storm with very violent winds. It moves in a rotational circle. I have only
actually seen a hurricane on tv and in books. I know they have them in a lot of tv shows. The eye of
the hurricane is the middle part which is the most calm. The eyewall is the outside, which is the most
dangerous part of the hurricane. Wind is when the air moves. The Saffir simpson scale is a scale used
to find how bad a hurricane is. A hurricane watch is a warning to everyone in the area that wind is a
high speed. A hurricane is formed over warm water. The warm water helps carry it to land, because it
is like food. Water vapor makes the clouds that can rain so it will be an actual storm. They form just

Essay about Market Analysis of Panera Bread
Describe positioning and operational effectiveness at Panera Bread. Identify numerous examples in
your description.
According to company s profile given in case 8, Panera Bread s establishment started in 1981 by
Louis Kane and Ron Shaich as a bakery café. Sooner they have studied the market and opened café
chains in different states. They had realized that they had an opportunity to compete with other fast
food companies if they could offer higher quality and at the same time quick dining experience. As
author states the vision was to create a specialty café anchored by an authentic, fresh dough artisan
bakery and upscale quick service menu selections (Thomas, 2008). This is what the consumers were

Additionally all Panera cafes used real china and stainless silverware instead of paper plates and
plastic utensils. Which shows that Panera had made itself different by making more quality fast food
and offering it in different way than its rivals were doing.
Furthermore, it s quite clear that Panera Bread has achieved to build a very good operational
effectiveness. As information given in case 8, Panera operates where urban workers and suburban
dwellers looking for quick service meal and a more aesthetically pleasing dining experience than that
offered by traditional fast food restaurants. And Panera s has average population per location of
330,000 people. So Panera operates in markets where it has also other competitors running their fast
food chains as McDonalds, Subway, Sturbucks Coffee, Applebee s, and etc. They are all in same
industry and they are all substitutes to each other in front of their customers. One of the things which
make Panera better than its rivals is that it performs tasks in more better and higher quality. For
examples, in Panera s growing strategy through franchising Panera clearly forces its franchiser to
build perfect operational effectiveness in order to meet the franchising requirements. As given in case
8, in Panera s franchising agreement, franchiser should open 15 Panera bakery cafes in six years.

Galletta (2012) discusses that semi structured interviews give space for further discussion and an in
depth answer from the interviewee. Eight midwives were purposively recruited from eight Mother and
Child Health Centres in Oslo and a smaller town in in another part of Norway. Although the study
adopted this method it didn t allow for a true representation of midwives views across Norway and it
evidences a difference in the way the participants were recruited therefore there was a degree of
allocation bias as the midwives will clearly be working with different population groups, pregnant
women from a city and pregnant women from a small town. The paper does however state that the
recruitment process was carried out in that way to recruit midwives with different experiences and to
ensure diversity and socio economic statuses between the Mother and Child Health centres.
Data analysis that was undertaken was content analysis. Graneheim et al (2017) reports that qualitative
content analysis is a method that is used to analysis quantitative data. It is a method that focuses on the
subject and the content emphasises variation. The analysis was carried out in four various stages and
direct quotes were used for participants within the study allowing for what they said to be shown

However, distributive approach not suggested implying much during the negotiation as long as
integrative approach yields better results (Fells, 2012).
There are several common strategies and behaviour with approach in distributive negotiation.
Different with integrative approach, information exchange while using distributive approach is
limited, especially just the part that help for own side. Fells (2012) generalize the discussion of Walton
and McKersie s (1965), which stated that both party aimed to shape own expectation with adopting
firm positions and commitments between the parties. This has been further explained by Riley (2001),
negotiators tried to turn the other party to agree while concession may be made to reach an agreement.
Mediation
Mediation is the third party intervention within a negotiation in order to find way to resolve problems.
Beber (2010, p.3 4) defined that mediation is the non coercive intervention by a third party in a
dispute between two or more political entities for the stated purpose of effecting a settlement of the
dispute . Fells (2012) suggested that it is important to involve a mediator so as

Comparing Shakespeare s Othello with Conrad s Heart of Darkness
It is often that when we read great works of literature we come across similar themes. Authors use
powerful ideas that they believe will move their readers and relate to them so they become engaged in
the words written. William Shakespeare and Joseph Conrad were amazing writers of their times and
even though their works were written almost 300 years apart, both, Othello and Heart of Darkness,
have coinciding themes.
The major theme that both Shakespeare and Conrad tackled was racism and the concept of whites
versus blacks. The play Othello tells the story of a black general by the name of Othello and the
betrayal, lies, and deception that comes about when marrying a ... Show more content on

He uses derogatory and offensive remarks that devalue people of color and make them out to be
savages. Chinua Achebe, a well known writer, talked about Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness,
entitled An Image of Africa: Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness. Throughout his essay, Achebe
notes how Conrad set Africa up as a foil to Europe, (Achebe) while he also projects the image of
Africa as the other world . Africa is said to be a prehistoric world. Conrad described this land as non
advanced and inferior to the western countries.
Another theme that was portrayed by both Othello and Heart of Darkness was that of good versus evil.
What was ironic about this theme was that it was somewhat opposite and strange for the time period
they were both written in. In both works it seemed as if blacks were seen as the good and innocent
while the whites were seen on the evil side. African heritage is usually portrayed in a negative light
and it was not the case in these pieces. Othello was looked as somewhat of a black hero and Iago was
considered the white nemesis. Iago s deceitful ways brings light to Othello s true character, a great
general and man. Conrad shows the Africans as innocent victims to the white man s chaos. The white
men, even though they are shown more powerful, are the ones seen in the dark.
Racism and good versus evil come down to the idea of the white man versus the black man. These
ideas have been in and out of

Cognitive Social Learning Theory
I have selected this theory primarily because I believe that a great majority of our learning during the
course of our entire lives is achieved by observation. Bandura s social cognitive theory is a learning
based on the ideas that people learn by watching what others do and that human thought processes are
central to understanding personality. While social cognition experts agree that there is a fair amount of
influence on development generated by learned behavior displayed in the environment in which one
grows up, they believe that the individual person is just as important in determining moral
development. People learn by observing others, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While watching and observing children play, you can discover their interests. You can see more than
the children just having fun, but you may witness any strengths and/or weaknesses in personality,
learning or interactive abilities. By observing children I was able to learn their developmental level,
such as who the leader of the group was or what leaders were in competition to lead the play session.
Thus observing the children interact I could learn a lot about their respective personalities. From my
observation, the child that was obviously in charge of this group had either an older sibling, relative or
perhaps was mimicking what he saw on television by directing and giving instruction to the other
children who were playing with him. In the game of organized basketball there is one leader on the
court for each team. That leader is normally the point guard position. The child may already possess
the personality of being a leader, but he had to observe and learn the other details he exuded by
watching what he had seen in live action or by television.
I can personally relate to this theory the most because in retrospect I realize that a great deal of my
behavioral learning was developed through observation. I wouldn t consider where I grew up as a
child as being the ghetto , but the area was rough, and I believe it is safe to say that there was a
survival of the fittest mentality. There was a certain assertive aggressiveness that I

Since shingles is a part of the herpes family it usually appears as a strip of blisters anywhere on the

Zoloft can be taken with other drugs and will not have any synergistic effects. Furthermore there are
no antagonistic effects, when you take Zoloft there is no other drug that counteracts it that will make
you depressed. Zoloft is not necessarily an addictive drug if taken properly. If a person takes the drug
more than the prescription says and if taken at random times they can become addicted. Other than
that Zoloft is not an addictive drug, if users listen to their doctor when they say how much to take
mostly likely they will not become addicted. In some cases people who take Zoloft become reliant on
it because if they do not take it anymore they will fall back into depression. When they become reliant
they become addicted and it becomes extremely hard to stop taking it. However these addictive effects
in most cases are not physical but psychological addicting because the drug is the only reason the user
is staying normal. A treatment for Zoloft addiction is that your doctor will begin to prescribe smaller
doses over and long period of time to get the user to become used to taking less. This process will
continue until the patient is no longer reliant on Zoloft. Zoloft is a great drug to use for patients with
depression. Patients must make sure to take the correct dosage and listen to their doctor to insure they
do not get certain side effects. Zoloft is a drug that is

Active Listening Can Be Described In Brief As Listening

Clarification includes questions that seek to clear uncertainties and fetch more understanding of the
other person s intentions and fears. Misunderstood or inadequate information is the main barrier to
understanding; that s why clarification is important. After that, you should recognize the other person s
feelings. This is called digging. It concentrates on the feelings of a person without making them the
clear focus of the argument. Observing emotional reactions adds a further aspect to the understanding
of a person s situation. It is mainly helpful when there seems to be an inconsistency between the
content of a message and the person s feelings as it permits us to discover the speaker s actual
approach toward a subject. Subsequently, you should see if the other person seems to be doubtful or
uncertain. You should acknowledge the feelings that a person is experiencing as it is an influential
evidence of our awareness and serious attempt to understand his situation. (The role of Active

Essay On Caregiver Strain Additional research was conducted by Reid (2011) to explore whether caregiver strain is linked to child maltreatment, if experiencing maltreatment is associated with risk inflating behaviors or sexual denigration of self or other, and if these behavioral and psychosocial dysfunctions are related to vulnerability to commercial sexual exploitation. The sample included data from 174 predominately African American women. The results indicated that child maltreatment worsened with an increased caregiver strain. Experiencing child maltreatment was also linked to running away, initiating substance use at earlier ages, and higher levels of sexual denigration of self or others. The sample consisted of data from 426 individuals who were between the ages of 14 and 24 years old. The results indicated that 41 percent of the sample were consistently sheltered. These individuals often were in the younger age group, did not use drugs other than alcohol or marijuana, they were less involved in informal sector activities, they were able to go home, and were typically homeless for one year. Future research is needed that recruits youth from the street setting in order to identify additional trajectories of homelessness. However, the timing of the assessments may have limited the number of trajectories that were identified and the study did not evaluate whether childhood neglect or abuse were predictors of youth remaining or returning to shelters (Tevendale, Comulada, Lightfoot, ... From reading the Epic of Gilgamesh we can begin to understand the values help by ancient Mesopotamian society. By reading the Ramayana we can analysis the religion and world view of Hinduism. Many ancient stories seem to parallel each other. Although stories are written in diverse cultures, there tend to be likenesses, especially between the protagonists. This is true with the stories of the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Ramayana when it comes to the depictions of their hero s. A hero is described as a figure who is recognized for their extraordinary accomplishments. Joseph Campbell says all hero s follow a certain path. First, they go through a separation, then an initiation. They go through an initiation to show their worth as a hero, then they return and are reintegrated with society after learning a lesson. Hero s should also be relatable, which is why they often go through crisis and failures. Even though they contrast each other, Rama from the Ramayana and Gilgamesh from the Epic of Gilgamesh have similar archetypes of the hero. The characters of Rama and Gilgamesh have multiple similarities that are shown in their stories. Rama and Gilgamesh are both examples of Campbell s hero because they both go through separation, initiation, return. To be considered a hero, the character must go on a quest and show his heroic qualities. This is true in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand, some researchers agree that such large retailers as Wal Mart are able to maintain strong control over the suppliers and this may be considered as benefit for the suppliers (Bloom and Perry, 2001). It was revealed in the recent research that the suppliers that manage only small market share tend to demonstrate poor organisational performance in contrast to the situation when they have Wal Mart as the primary retailer (Bloom and Perry, 2001). Consequently, this implies that Wal Mart contributes to the strong supplier performance as well as their stable and strong position on the market, despite the financial pressures that Wal Mart puts on the suppliers (Bloom and Perry, 2001). This way, Wal Mart contributes not only to the generation of its own revenues but also to the stable ad ongoing supplier revenue generating process in an indirect way (Turner, Katz and Hurd, 2001). • 5. The Scarlett Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay Middle class women in the early nineteenth century became known only for their passionless sexuality and the ability to bear children (Myers Shirk). While married men had the option to impregnate any woman they chose, women had the primary responsibility of raising the children while remaining faithful. During this era, common practice dictated that only women would face prosecution for infidelity or else face charges of a serious crime (Mawa). Society s frame of mind during this time served to place men at the top of the gender hierarchy until, later in the century (Myers Shirk). The notion that women received unjust treatment as compared to men also existed in the literature of that era. The Scarlett Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne illustrates the disparity of equality at the time. In this book, the author writes of a woman, Hester Prynne, who committed adultery and bore a child out of wedlock. Hester s punishment handed down by the church resulted in incarceration followed by parading her through the town in an effort to shame her for her misdeeds (Hawthorne). During this time period, women in New York formed a Female Moral Reform Society Program. This program s primary goal encouraged women to end men s immoral view of them in general. Specifically, the program appealed to society to view women as more than just a vessel for reproduction. Moreover, there existed an inherent desire to educate future generations with regard to the respect that women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Las Meninas ( Maids Of Honor, By Diego Velazquez Las Meninas (Maids of Honor) by Diego Velazquez, is a Bourque style Spanish painting from the 1700 s, which is known as Velazquez s masterpiece as an artist and his life as a court painter. Some say Las Meninas is, This work, one of the most perfect fac similes of nature that art has ever produced, and which Girodano called la teologia de la pintura, is among the latest productions of the artist (Curtis 14). Velazquez s masterpiece was so highly endorsed by many, thus is why Las Meninas was referenced as the la teologia de la pintura, also known as the theology of the painting, which is a great honor to receive. The painting portrays the royal family s daughter and her servants posing for what looks to be, Diego painting a portrait on a large canvas. However, a reflection of a mirror in the background shows the royal parents, King Philip IV of Spain and his Queen Mariana watches over Velazquez as he works, thus gives off the illusion that they are looking at this from outside the painted area (audience view). According to Albert Fredrick Calvert, Velazquez painted the scene for us to view as it must have appeared to the royal parents. With them we gaze at the sunlight flooded space where the child drama is enacted (Calvert 165). While it has been highly questioned throughout the years, whether the portrayal of the portrait is of the royal daughter and her servants or if it is a portrait of the royal parent s reflection, thus is what makes this painting one of Velazquez s greatest pieces of work. Diego s vision for this masterpiece was to show what his life and career has become as a celebrated artist, therefore holding court by paying homage to himself and the royal family by adding himself into the family portrait. A major part of the success of Las Meninas and the painting itself, is the way Velazquez could give off light throughout the room, which makes the painting give off much more of a natural light. It is said that the use of light The lighting of the scene by four windows on the right, and a door in the rear, unusual difficulties over which the painter has triumph with remarkable genius (Curtis 14). Although the study adopted this method it didn t allow for a true representation of midwives views across Norway and it evidences a difference in the way the participants were recruited therefore there was a degree of allocation bias as the midwives will clearly be working with different population groups, pregnant women from a city and pregnant women from a small town. The paper does however state that the recruitment process was carried out in that way to recruit midwives with different experiences and to ensure diversity and socio economic statuses between the Mother and Child Health centres. Data analysis that was undertaken was content analysis. Graneheim et al (2017) reports that qualitative content analysis is a method that is used to analysis quantitative data. It is a method that focuses on the subject and the content emphasises variation. The analysis was carried out in four various stages and direct quotes were used for participants within the study allowing for what they said to be shown exactly what was said within the paper. Comparing Shakespeare s Othello with Conrad s Heart of Darkness It is often that when we read great works of literature we come across similar themes. Authors use powerful ideas that they believe will move their readers and relate to them so they become engaged in the words written. William Shakespeare and Joseph Conrad were amazing writers of their times and even though their works were written almost 300 years apart, both, Othello and Heart of Darkness, have coinciding themes. The major theme that both Shakespeare and Conrad tackled was racism and the concept of whites versus blacks. Chinua Achebe, a well known writer, talked about Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, entitled An Image of Africa: Racism in Conrad s Heart of Darkness. Throughout his essay, Achebe notes how Conrad set Africa up as a foil to Europe, (Achebe) while he also projects the image of Africa as the other world . Africa is said to be a prehistoric world. Conrad described this land as non advanced and inferior to the western countries. Another theme that was portrayed by both Othello and Heart of Darkness was that of good versus evil. What was ironic about this theme was that it was somewhat opposite and strange for the time period they were both written in. In both works it seemed as if blacks were seen as the good and innocent while the whites were seen on the evil side. African heritage is usually portrayed in a negative light and it was not the case in these pieces. Othello was looked as somewhat of a black hero and Iago was considered the white nemesis. Iago s deceitful ways brings light to Othello s true character, a great general and man. Conrad shows the Africans as innocent victims to the white man s chaos. The white men, even though they are shown more powerful, are the ones seen in the dark. Racism and good versus evil come down to the idea of the white man versus the black man. Cognitive Social Learning Theory Cognitive Social Learning Theory John Tabro May 3, 2012 Cognitive Social Learning Theory I have selected this theory primarily because I believe that a great majority of our learning during the course of our entire lives is achieved by observation. Bandura s social cognitive theory is a learning based on the ideas that people learn by watching what others do and that human thought processes are central to understanding personality. You can see more than the children just having fun, but you may witness any strengths and/or weaknesses in personality, learning or interactive abilities. By observing children I was able to learn their developmental level, such as who the leader of the group was or what leaders were in competition to lead the play session. Thus observing the children interact I could learn a lot about their respective personalities. From my observation, the child that was obviously in charge of this group had either an older sibling, relative or perhaps was mimicking what he saw on television by directing and giving instruction to the other children who were playing with him. In the game of organized basketball there is one leader on the court for each team. That leader is normally the point guard position. The child may already possess the personality of being a leader, but he had to observe and learn the other details he exuded by watching what he had seen in live action or by television. I can personally relate to this theory the most because in retrospect I realize that a great deal of my behavioral learning was developed through observation. The aforementioned work by Bede offers one of the earliest written accounts of the first arrival of the Anglo Saxons but as with his assertions regarding the origins of the settlers, Bede fails to provide an accurate picture of the pace and nature of the Anglo Saxon migration. When translated from Saxon languages Hengist and Horsa translate back to stallion and mare , pointing towards the story being more a folk tale than an actual historic event. Further to this, Bede based much of his work off Gildas who wrote the earliest insular text available On the Ruin of Britain in around 540, and also accounted for the legendary brothers they sealed its doom by inviting in among them (like wolves into the sheep fold), the fierce and impious Saxons, a race hateful to both God and men, to repel the invasions of the northern nations .
