Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Vpns
Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Virtual Private Networks
Electronic technology is growing at a rapid rate; more devices are made mobile and wireless, but with
those improvement and developments come flaws and malicious opportunities. Cyber attacks are on
the rise and no system or device is immune. Many organizations employ multiple layers of firewalls
but that doesn t completely eliminate the threat. Attacks against firewalls and virtual private networks
or VPNs are constantly being exploited with new methods everyday, but they are yet another obstacle
that a cyber criminal must overcome. First let s discuss what a firewall is and what a firewall is
capable of doing. Firewall applications are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, many firewalls come with so many rules or policies that they can counteract the
security desired and create loopholes for network threats or actually block traffic that is desired or
requested by the user. These issues make it really important to understand how all rules and policies in
the firewall work and how to apply them. Another tool often used for secure reasons and also as a
reliable method to share information remotely is called a Virtual Private Network or VPN. Henry
describes A VPN as a group of computers (or discrete networks) networked together over a public
network namely, the internet (para 3, 2012). Basically, it s a private network created to allow remote
access through a public network. Most often you will see that employees on airplanes or in a public
place that will require and utilize these VPNs to access their business resources for all kinds of
information, but some people just use it as a means to use their network without physically
compromising the actual systems. A good VPN can provide many functions such as access anywhere
worldwide without dedicated lines, data security, remote access to business resources and better
employee production. For these VPNs to perform these functions properly they are required to provide
reliability by ensuring that the network does not break down before reaching its max capacity,
scalability to ensure the ability to expand as business grows, and of

Why I Am A Successful Nurse
Cardiac Care Nursing Specialty Nursing is a valuable profession in which nurses provide care for
individuals, families, and community groups. In order to be a successful nurse, a person has to be able
to combine people skills like communication, compassion, commitment, and trust with an adequate
amount of science and new technology knowledge. On the other hand, nurses are highly responsible
for educating their patients about different medication, diseases, treatments, and healthy lifestyle
choices to help clients maintain and improve their health and well being. Nursing consists of a wide
range of specialties and practices among which every nurse can choose depends on her/his interest and
skills. Personally, I am really interested in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of coronary care units deliver a high level of very specialized cardiac care. Nurses are
responsible to monitor and care for acutely ill patients or they may take charge of cardiac
rehabilitation and help patients who are chronically ill to make lifestyle changes in order to prevent
the worsening of their health condition. A variety of healthcare team member work together to provide
continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring and deliver expert care to all patients during the
recovery stage either from a cardiac surgery, a heart failure, an angina, or any cardiac dysrhythmias.
Coronary care nurses play a huge part in the unit. They are required to use their nursing skills,
knowledge, and best judgment in interpreting patient s rhythm and monitoring hemodynamics. On the
other hand, like all nurses; cardiac care nurse follows the five nursing process Assessment, Diagnosis,

Cahokian Chief Research Paper
The Cahokian Chief is a ruler of our Mississippian civilization. The political structure that Cahokia
operates under is a chiefdom in which the chief is a hereditary leader over a group of towns.
Chiefdoms are based on the communal culture of gift giving and commercial links and trade routes
and this is what supports our city. The chief has the most power over us he controls our land and
economy and the rest of us are considered subordinate to our chief. A part of the chief s job is to
organize us through different obligations such as tribute, shared labor, and rituals. We tend to the
fertile land, which provides us with an abundance of maize, beans, and squash. The land is so fertile
along the Mississippian river where we live; we attribute the abundance of maize to our corn goddess.
The agriculture we tend to is delivered to the chief and to neighboring communities whether it is a gift
or a debt. The chief is so powerful that most of the communities nearby tend to owe our chief tribute
or to pay off a debt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chief organizes religious rituals and feast rituals relating to our spirituality. We focus on the
religion of the earth, of nature, and the changing seasons. The woodhenges relate with the passage of
the sun over the course of the year. Other spiritual aspects we are guided by include the four
directions. We practice a spiral snake dance, and it is related to the changing seasons or solstices. The
chief is the closest to the gods because he lives atop of the mounds in a temple, which is a testimony
to his power over us as well as the respect we have for him as the most powerful and elite member of
Cahokia. Separate from the elite, the rest of us live in wooden huts because we are not related to or as

Factors Influencing Political Betting On Politics
This chapter will draw out some of the characteristics of the type of person to bet on a political
outcome. It will also focus on the different types of motives why people may be tempted to place a bet
on a specific outcome.
The first distinction, that needs to be assessed is whether those betting on politics are gamblers first
and foremost, or whether their interest in politics has prompted them to put their money where their
mouth is. Betting on elections, within in America, while illegal, can still occur amongst very strict
framework. These prediction frameworks can attract interest from the more typical gambler and the
public that are more interested in politics. These markets, however, do not function in the exact same
manner as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alistair Meeks is a lawyer, who is heavily involved with political betting. His underlying interest in
politics was the driving force for him to get involved with politics. He has been documented stating he
likes that politics is still considered a novelty bet, as the strong form research is less of a feature than
in sports betting . Alistair Meeks frequently writes articles for the PolitcalBetting website. It is clear
his interest is Politics and he sees it as a way to make a little bit of extra money from his own interests.
This suggests political betting is something that is of interest to both people with an interest in politics,
but also those who take a punt as gambling is their main focus. Political betting is different from
Sports in this sense, as it is unlikely political betters will make the move across to sports betting.
People may have been betting to keep an interest in the result and to gamble on their own analytical
ability. It could be suggested this is what makes political gambling an interesting topic, as those
placing the bets may fall outside those who are typical gamblers. The punters involved in political
gambling may be politics enthusiasts first, but with a good understanding of betting and a desire to
place money on their own ability to predict the outcome of a certain political

Helping Phantom Limb Pain Essay
Helping Phantom Limb Pain
Over the years scientists have noted many complaints of a strange form of pain called phantom limb
pain. This pain is strange because it is located in an appendage that no longer exists. By many of the
amputees the pain is described as totally unbearable. Phantom limb pain has even driven some victims
crazy. For the amputee population this is a very real problem that definitely needs to be solved.
After James Peacock had his right arm amputated last December, he expected some difficulties. With
those difficulties came pain so unbearable it could not be controlled with all the medicine in his
cabinet. Derek Steen, otherwise known as The one armed pool player, lost a limb in a motorcycle
accident at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a body part is lost the corresponding part of the brain is not able to handle the loss and rewires
its circuitry to make up for the signals it was no longer receiving from the missing digit. The rewiring
might occur in one of two ways. Perhaps nerve impulses in the sensory cortex begin to course down
previously untraveled pathways. The second theory is that neighboring neurons in the cortex may
actually invade the territory left fallow because sensations are no longer received from the missing
limb.
Birbaumer, Lutzenberger, Montoya, and Wolfgang (1997) examined the functional relationship
between cortical reorganization and phantom limb pain. Neuroelectric source imaging was used to
determine changes in cortical reorganization in the somatosensory cortex after anesthesia of an
amputation stump produced by brachial plexus blockage in six phantom limb pain patients and four
pain free amputees. This cortical reorganization was studied to examine whether the neurons rewired
after the loss of an appendage. Three of the phantom limb subjects experienced a virtual elimination of
current phantom pain. The Biraumber et al., (1997) result of the anesthesia was a very rapid
elimination of cortical reorganization in the somatosensory cortex. In three phantom limb pain
amputees pain was not reduced by brachial

Summary Of King Henry V Speech
In the middle of the siege of Harfleur, when the English were severely and harshly outnumbered, and
the French were against them Henry V gave his second famously motivational speech that helped the
English soldiers to get back in the war and win the battle. King Henry V s speeches that were used in
the war, had been played in day to day speeches, as it has been played on Allied ships crossing the
English Channel to Normandy during WWII. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; Or
close the wall up with our English dead. In peace there s nothing so becomes a man As modest
stillness and humility: But when the blast of war blows in our ears, Then imitate the action of the
tiger; Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, Disguise fair nature with hard favoured rage; Then
lend the eye a terrible aspect; Let pry through the portage of the head Like the brass cannon; let the
brow overwhelm it As fearfully as doth a galled rock O erhang and jutty his confounded base, Swill d
with the wild and wasteful ocean Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide, Hold hard the breath
and bend up every spirit To his full height. On, on, you noblest English. Whose blood gets from
fathers of war proof! Fathers that, like so many Alexanders, Have in these parts from morn till even
fought And sheathed their swords for lack of argument: Shakespeare s use of chorus gives the play a
significant atmosphere.

Abraham Lincoln And John Wilkes Booth
You all feel the fire now raging in the nation s heart. It s a fire lighted and fanned by Northern
fanaticism. A fire which naught but blood and justice can extinguish. I tell you the Abolitionist
doctrine is the fire which, if allowed to rage, will consume the house and crush us all beneath its
ruins... Fierce Civil War will follow. (Booth) President Abraham Lincoln was loved by many in the
country, but John Wilkes Booth made it his sole purpose to kill him. Although some people do not
understand what persuaded John Wilkes Booth to kill President Abraham Lincoln, it was clear that
Booth wanted to commit the act because he was an intense Southerner looking for a Confederate
continuation that would aid the South. On April 14, 1865, tragedy overwhelmed the Ford s Theatre
when John Wilkes Booth made the final choice of Abraham Lincoln s life by taking it. Booth loved his
country immensely and believed the only option left was to dispose of Abraham Lincoln for the
betterment of the United States.

Literary Devices Used In Macbeth Essay example
Literary Devices used in Macbeth
Imagine how dull a Shakespearean play would be without the ingenious literary devices and
techniques that contribute so much to the fulfillment of its reader or viewer. Macbeth, by William
Shakespeare, is a tragedy that combines fact and legend to tell the story of an eleventh century king.
Shakespeare uses numerous types of literary techniques to make this tragic play more appealing.
Three literary devices that Shakespeare uses to make Macbeth more interesting and effective are irony,
symbolism, and imagery. One technique that Shakespeare uses is irony. Verbal irony is when a
character says one thing but means the opposite. When a reader understands the irony of what a
character is saying, then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Irony, a key element to a tragic play like Macbeth, has the ability to make the tragic hero appear more
villainous or the down fall seem even more tragic. The second type of literary device that Shakespeare
uses in Macbeth is symbolism. The predominant symbol is blood and is used as an effective method to
describe the theme of the play. Not only does blood symbolize bravery, it is also a means of showing
treachery and treason and probably most importantly, guilt. One example of bravery occurs when the
captain says, For brave Macbeth well he deserves that name /Disdaining fortune, with his brandished
steel,/Which smoked with bloody execution (1.2.16 18). Soon after this blood changes into a
representation of treachery and treason. Lady Macbeth asks the spirits to Make thick my blood,/ Stop
up th access and passage to remorse (1.5. 43 44). She asks the spirits to take away compassion and
make her remorseless for the actions she is about to take. Also, when Ross asks, Is t known who did
this more than bloody deed? (2.4.22), he tries to figure out who performed the disloyal act of
murdering the king. Blood is also used many times to express the guilt ridden consciences of the
characters. For instance, Macbeth says, What hands are here? Ha! They pluck out mine own eyes!/
Will all great Neptune s ocean wash the blood/ Clean from my hand? (2.3.58 60). Macbeth obviously
feels guilty for killing Duncan in cold blood. Later in the play, Lady Macbeth

Double Helix Lab Report
DNA extraction and the use of PCR to detect genetic diseases
Introduction:
The double helix is indeed a remarkable molecule. Modern man is perhaps 50,000 years old,
civilization has existed for scarcely 10,000 years and the United States for only just over 200 years;
but DNA and RNA have been around for at least several billion years. All that time the double helix
has been there, and active, and yet we are the first creatures on Earth to become aware of its existence.
Francis Crick (1916 2004). DNA, the conductor in the orchestra of life. It defines everything about us,

indispensable to medical science, being used to detect both hereditary and infectious diseases, clone
DNA, paternity tests (using genetic fingerprints) and DNA based phylogeny. In 1989, Taq Polymerase
was named the molecule of the year by Science magazine. Showing further what a ground breaking

peaceful. Bismarck prevented bloodshed by creating the League of the Three Emperors. This was an
alliance between three monarchies, which were Germany, Russia and Austria Hungary. He saw this as
a means to isolate France and preserve both peace and conservative status quo (Tucker). If he did not
take this action, then France could have used Russia and Austria Hungary as allies. This would make
France more powerful than Germany militarily. The League of The Three Emperors eventually
disbanded because of conflicts between Russia and Austria Hungary. So, Bismarck created the

observations did not support the Catholic Church s teachings. Copernicus and Galileo discovered that
the sun does not revolve around the Earth but that the Earth revolves around the sun. The Church
believed that Only God knows how he created the universe, (Gascoigne) so there was no way that
Copernicus and Galileo could know that the Earth revolves around the sun. In the Bible it says, The

because of the flood, the population dropped so a lot of people didn t go shopping so store owners had

a million square feet in the middle of the city. We can renovate that into a more modern Charity
Hospital. A Charity Hospital would be best because there are a lot of people that don t have insurance
or a health care provider so they depend on Charity Hospitals. Either that or let there be free health
insurance. Anyway, there are also a lot of residential places in New Orleans so the population is
average. If there is a lot of residentials that means there is a decent amount of children in the city. So
that means there is a lot of schools. But, because of the flood the schools drop with the population. So
lots of kids education was getting messed with. So some of the other abandoned places like the

Jfk Inaugural Address Rhetorical Analysis
On a cold January afternoon in 1961 John Fitzgerald Kennedy delivered one of the shortest but most
empowering inaugural addresses. Kennedy won by the smallest margin ever and to this day was the
youngest and the only Roman Catholic ever elected U.S. president. With the victory of World War II
behind the US and the fear of nuclear warfare with the Soviet Union looming Kennedy faced a
difficult task. Kennedy was faced with the task of convincing the American people that he was fit to
be leader. John F. Kennedy s use of rhetoric devices and persuasive appeals made in his Inaugural
Address convince the citizens of his ability to be chief executive. One of the rhetoric devices used
often in Kennedy s speech was the use of parallel structures. A parallel structure also called
parallelism is defined as the repetition of a chosen grammatical form within a sentence. An example of
a parallel structure would be To show kindness is praiseworthy; to show hatred is evil . Some
examples of parallel structures in Kennedy s inaugural address speech are: For man holds in his mortal
hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. , If a free society
cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich. and Let us never negotiate out
of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate . Kennedy used parallel structures to align related ideas and

9.1 DHCP SNOOPING
What Is DHCP?
Hosts communicate with each other through addressing in a network. At first devices used to be
assigned unique static IP addresses. But, this system could not be scaled up when mobile devices
became more common. Modifying each device s address, such as that of a mobile phone or laptop,
each time it moved from one location to another became very complex.
To resolve this issue, dynamic address configuration was developed, and soon became the standard
addressing system for most networks around the world. All kinds of networks, from coffee shops to
corporate networks, use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to connect a multitude of
devices to the internal networks as well as the Internet. However, ... Show more content on

When DHCP snooping is enabled, a database called the DHCP snooping table or binding table is
created. This database stores the lease information from the switching device. This includes the IP
MAC address binding, the lease time for the IP address, the type of binding, VLAN name, and
interface for each host.
The entries in the binding table are updated when significant changes occur in the network. For
example, when a client sends a DHCPRELEASE message to release an IP address, the corresponding
entry in the table is deleted. The entry associated with a device is also deleted if the timeout value or
lease time of the IP address assigned by the DHCP server expires. However, if you move a network
device from one VLAN to another, the device acquires a new IP address. In this case, the
corresponding entry, including its VLAN ID, is updated in the table. DHCP Snooping Process
Here s what happens when DHCP snooping is enabled on a switching device:
A network host requests for an IP address by sending a DHCPDISCOVER packet to the switching
device.
The switching device sends the packet to the DHCP server.
The server in turn offers the host an IP address by returning a DHCPOFFER packet to the switching
device.
The switching device confirms that the offer is from a trusted interface, and sends the packet to the
host.
The host then accepts the address through a DHCPREQUEST packet.
The switching device adds a placeholder entry for the

The Five States of Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a long term condition characterized by presence of kidney damage
or a decrease of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) less than 60ml/min/1.73m2 for 3 months or longer
periods (Levey, Bosch, Lewis, 1999). Kidney disease always being neglected as it was asymptomatic
in the early stage. Chronic kidney disease was divided into 5 stages and according to its severity. The
staging system is based on the estimated GFR and remaining kidney function. In each stages of
chronic kidney disease, there is certain medical action and investigation need to be carry out to
monitor the progression of disease. Medical practitioners can use this as basis guidelines to monitor
the deterioration of kidney disease. Patient will increase severity of uremic and suffer from clinical
manifestations of azotemia when GFR drop to less than 25% of normal (Schrier, 2010). When GFR
drop to less than 15ml Stage 5 CKD patient need to be undergo renal replacement therapy, either
dialysis or renal transplant in order to avoid complication such as uremic and fluid overload.
Whenever there is an injury occurs to the kidney, reduction of nephron number will be result from
compensatory of glomerular haemodynamic changes. The remaining nephron will be undergoing a
process call hypertrophy, with the increase in glomerular blood flow. Intraglomerular pressure and

American s Strategy Against the Spanish
After the Civil War, the United States Navy had been completely demobilized. It had commenced the
destruction of many warships utilized by the Union and had also stopped the production of new ships.
Naval powers in Europe had far surpassed the United States Navy as new and advanced technologies
were being put to use. The nation s lack of overseas coaling stations kept the United States attached to
the use of sail power. This was not efficient in order to protect American interests overseas. The image
of the United States was projected through its lack of an effective Navy. The public was so engulfed
with other intercontinental issues, such as western expansion, that the Navy was not an important
asset. The U.S. finally came to its senses in 1890 s when the first battleships, including the U.S.S.
Maine, was commissioned with steam power and a steel hull. As the Navy began to redevelop,
tensions between the Spanish and United States also began to develop. In 1873 Spanish authorities in
Cuba executed 53 men who had been smuggling guns to Cuban revolutionaries in the steamer
Virginius. Many of those executed were American citizens including the Captain of the Virginius
Joseph Fry, a Naval Academy graduate. The weak assembly of a Navy to intimidate the Spanish
frustrated those who advocated for a stronger Navy. America had sided with Cuba in its effort to fight
for independence from Spain. America had begun to portray the Spanish as ruthless people holding
Cuba s independence

The Problem Of Poverty Of Homelessness
Poverty
WHAT I ALREADY KNOW/WHY THIS TOPIC
Down my building street, a homeless lives there. I always wonder what brought him here. What was
his previous occupation before living down the street and annoying everyone else. Questions started to
rise. Are they really homeless? poor? or faking it up to attract people s attention? I had an experience
that made these questions rise weirdly. One day, I was sitting in Starbucks, located in Cary street
beside Chili s and I saw the homeless that howl beside my home sitting there and charging his brand
new Samsung Galaxy phone and began to text. I was shocked because what I saw is not how homeless
should be. Another question rose again, which is, why would he buy a phone with an internet in it. He
could buy food for that money.
RESULT OF THE RESEARCH After that incident, I started to surf the internet look for an answer. If
we do research and discover the situation of homelessness, we will learn that there are many reasons.
There are many reasons why does homeless exists. One of those reasons is mental health illnesses.
Think about it! Having a kid with a mental issue is a small problem and can be help tightly, but when

Analysis Of The Tv Commercial Blitz For Internet Based...
I ll admit, there was a time I found Montel Williams quite likeable. He came across as a regular guy,
just like everybody else he d get tears in his eyes when he had sympathetic guests on his show; he
promoted social programs, like the Boys And Girls Club. As time went on, he got a little sideways.
Nothing, however, is a more egregious abuse of public trust/his fan base, than his latest TV
commercial blitz for internet based payday loan broker MoneyMutual. There he is, smilingly
promoting usury rate loans to the very class of people for whom he was once advocate. All you need is
a job and a bank account, he says. No credit checks... Avoid bank fees... Take that vacation. What

Criminal Issues In The Criminal Justice System
Throughout history, there has been only a handful of crimes and criminal issues that reached the span
of not just a city, state or country but the entire world. These criminal issues include crimes like drug
trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorist attacks. Interestingly, the fundamental reasoning behind
these types of crimes varies greatly. For example, some of these crimes are motivated immensely by
money, greed, and power (power over people, government, and politics etc.) However, their motives
stem from things like the offender s political ideology, religion, and at times, traditions. These types of
crimes affect numerous aspects of the criminal justice systems around the world such as the way we
prosecute, detain and interrogate suspects.

Solubility Equilibrium and the Effect of Temperature Essays
Introduction For this experiment, we are going to determine the effect of temperature on solubility, to
be done in a chemical by dissolving a solute in a definite amount of solution which is saturated.
Specifically, the goal of this experiment is to prepare a saturated solution of Na2C2O4 in water at
different temperatures, determine the effect of temperature in solubility, and to apply Le Chatelier s
Principle. We can do all this by simply titrating a certain amount of standard KMnO4, and measuring
how much KMnO4 was needed to help Na2C2O4 reach chemical equilibrium at certain temperatures.
In doing this, we will have fulfilled all the goals of our experiment, as well as being able to determine
the Solubility of Na2C2O3 at both 20 and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of America By Claude Mckay
Claude Mckay was an African American poet originally from Jamaica, and an important figure in the
Harlem Renaissance, writing about his experience with racism and the bigoted society in America.
America, written by the poet Claude Mckay, was published in the year 1921. The 1920 s, also known
as the Roaring Twenties, were a time of great wealth and jubilee before the fall of the economy during
the Great Depression at the end of the decade. But underneath this surface of contentment, there was a
dark side that Americans did not care to address in society. The Jim Crow laws were in full force and
took away many rights of African Americans, ostracizing and belittling them. Claude Mckay was a
voice of retaliation against this hatred, and America is all about the duality of Mckay s feelings
towards America. Since Mckay is from Jamaica, he has a unique perspective as an immigrant to a
country that is supposed to be welcoming. It s a constant push and pull between love and hatred of
what this country has to offer. The title of this poem, America, blatantly shows what this poem is
going to be about. America is a sonnet comprised of three quatrains and a couplet, which results in 14
lines total. He also uses the iambic pentameter which consists of a short syllable followed by a
stressed syllable, which gives the poem a sort of rhythm. A quatrain is a stanza with alternating
rhymes, and this is demonstrated with the last words of the first and third, second and fourth, lines of
each quatrain rhyming with each other (a b a b c d c d e f e f g g). Mckay begins the poem by
expressing his contempt towards what America has done to him in the first quatrain. The pronoun She
is used to personify America as a woman or a motherly figure who feeds him the bread of bitterness .
America also sinks into my throat her tiger s tooth which provides an imagery of a huge feline biting
into Mckay s throat with no warning. The poet depends on his nation to provide him with the basic
necessities to survive, but instead he receives injustice. Yet he says he loves this cultured hell that tests
my youth which uses cultured hell as an oxymoron for America s sophisticated and wayward aspects.
This line in the first quatrain

How Did The British Agricultural Revolution

The British Agricultural Revolution
The British Agricultural Revolution was a time where agricultural production in England increased
due to land productivity and labor. This revolution took place between 1690 and the 1850 s. During
this time, there were many developments emerging from this era. Developments included an increase
in farm size, land claims, land drains, and development of a national market based on minimal
government regulation to name a few. One of the most important innovations was the crop rotations.
Crop rotation was a practice of growing a series of different crops in the same area in different
seasons. To begin, Crop rotation is the practice of growing similar types of crops in the ... Show more

In 1701, a seed drill was invented by Jethro Tull that allowed corn to be sown in regular rows. The
seed drill produced less wasteful crops and made laying seeds easier and more efficient. In 1703, The
Rotherham plow was invented in a village in Yorkshire making plows easier to handle and turned the
soil more effectively. Later in 1786, A Scotsman named Andrew Meikle invented a thrashing machine
that was used to separate ears of corn from stalks. The thrashing machine made picking corn ears
faster and more efficient, and required a lot less labor. The first machine made in the 19th century was
the first ever reaping machine invented by Robert Ransome. The only difference between this
invention and the seed drill, was the durability. Robert s reaper was a lot stronger and more efficient.
The last invention related to agriculture was the evolution of steam power. Steam power was applied
to plowing. The power was fixed to long cable connected to the plows that were then pulled across the
farm by a stationary steam engines. Steam power would increase efficiency and productivity unlike
the human hand. A farmer could only cut one furrow at once, while the machine can do multiple
furrows at

Not only is it ironic that Trump suggested the rigging of the election for Clinton s benefit since it

The Value Of The Vat Returns
The VAT returns are on the rise as consumers increase spending on cars, furniture and white goods.
The €341 million over performance in VAT revenues in the first 11 months of the year have to be
analyzed alongside the €312 million corporate tax over performance in November alone. An €800
million surge in October shows just how corporate tax has taken off this year. With unemployment
lower than anticipated, at 8.9% in November, income tax receipts were still below target in this month.
The buildup of €16.56 billion in income tax since the start of the year is €801 million stronger than in
2014 and €51 million ahead of target. This shows the exchequer is taking the benefit of the return to
drudgery. However, the failure to reach the November target even as employment growth accelerates
raises questions as to whether job growth is coming from low paid work outside the income tax net.
Health spending to end November was €465 million ahead of target. Problems in the health sector are
not going to go away before the election, but this data puts the public finances in very positive posture
ahead of the campaign (Beesley, Arthur). Ireland s economic freedom score is 76.6, making its
economy the 9th freest in the 2015 index. Its score is up by .4 point from last year, with a notable
combined improvement in the management of government spending and monetary freedom
outweighing declines in half of the 10 economic freedoms including property right, labor freedom,

Naval Special Warfare Teamwork
Introduction
Optimal operating organizations are those who embrace teamwork to accomplish shared goals.
Although some organizations are effective, there is always room to improve their efficiency. One main
adaptive challenge is to change the cultural relationship between Navy Sea Air and Land Operators
(SEALs) and the support staff that work within the Naval Special Warfare organization. The personal
beliefs and attitudes of individuals within the community are that the SEALs are held to a separate
standard and get special treatment when it comes to deviating from those standards. There are some
adaptive changes that can be implemented to enhance the overall culture, especially the teamwork
within the Naval Special Warfare organization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure to change the current issues will result in keeping the elephants in the room and continued
friction by not sharing responsibility for the organization, which directly contribute to the two
identified adaptive challenges. Heifetz et al. (2009) suggest that every immediate encountered
problem is an opportunity to not only fix them, but to institutionalize new norms. Therefore the top
leadership needs to acknowledge the challenges and take action by creating urgency. Kotter and
Cohen (2002) states that without enough urgency, large scale change can become an exercise in
pushing a gigantic boulder up a very tall mountain (p. 15). Indeed, change cannot happen without

The melody is made up of long, drawn out phrases. The melodies are shorter motifs.

Expansion of Music in the 20th Century
There are many elements that led to the expansion of music in the 20th Century. In some ways these
elements were all linked to each other and it is difficult to say what events or ideas triggered the huge
development of music. For example, World War I and II in the first half of the century lead to the rapid
development of technology and communications as well as, eventually, political and social freedom,
all aspects which have created changes and growth. The great advances in technology were in part
responsible for globalism, although nationalism was also partly a product of the wars. The advent of
the Great Wars also produced great emotion.

The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals
The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals
By its definition, folk music technically refers to indigenous forms of music created by local, regional
or native populations as a way of engaging in cultural expression. This means that at its core, folk
music is not intended to command a commercial value nor is it necessarily folk music by definition
once a form has been co opted by an outside culture. However, this is also a definition for folk which
has long been rendered obsolete by the aesthetic and vocal qualities that listeners tend to associate
with the genre today. This is because the most historically significant instances in which folk music
converged with the commercial zeitgeist would come to produce a highly distinctive set of sounds.
Indeed, when we think of folk music, one tends instantly to conjure image of a young Bob Dylan with
harmonica rack and guitar, wheezing his half singing, half speaking vocal style in Greenwich Village.
This iconic vision from the Folk Revival of the 1960s is probably the best bridge that we have to folk
influences like the socialist activists of the Almanac Singers and the Weavers, like Delta country folk
singers like Mississippi John Hurt or Josh White, or like bluegrass innovators such as the Carter
Family. Indeed, Nelson (2010) tells that figures such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and John and
Alan Lomax, made a huge impact on folk music in America, one which is still felt today. It is likely
that their joint efforts with each other and

Heat Fracture on Rocks
Background
Heat fracture is when an increase in volume is observed, due to an increase in temperature. Simply
meaning that while a material is being heated, the rise in temperature causes it to take up more space.
Heat fracture doesn t only deal with high temperatures, it also deals with the effects of cooling on a
material. If cooling occurs then the opposite of expansion occurs as well, the material will begin to
shrink or decrease in size. Continuous heating and cooling will eventually lead to stress and that
makes the material break or fracture. When the material going through this type of weathering is
considered being fractured, it means it s dealing with cracking or breaking of the ... Show more

It was believed that if the amount of time that the rock went through heating and cooling increased,
then the weight of the rock would decrease because while the rock goes through more heating and
cooling eventually it will fracture causing the weight to decrease. This is called heat fracture. The data
gathered did prove the hypothesis to be correct. For the longer trials with more minutes, the rock s
weight did decrease more rather than the shorter amount of trials. For example, the one minute trial
barely had a 0.6g difference proving our hypothesis correct, while the 15 minute trial had a significant
change in the rock s weight due to the longer time experiment. The graph seemed to gradually increase

Rhetorical Analysis Deborah Tannen
In this excerpt, Deborah Tannen speaks anecdotally about her observations of behavioral and
communicative differences between boys and girls in peer groups that are sex separate. I m going to
assume she s talking about all boys and all girls schools. Deborah Tannen describes girls as typically
inclined to choose one female friend with whom they ll build a strong and exclusive bond that
revolves around secretive conversation. She goes on to generalize boys as being much more willing to
socialize with a broader peer group in the form of playful activities, and to use those activities to
exhibit their skill, verbally express their knowledge, and to establish their rank in a pecking order.
Where Deborah Tannen sees controversy in this is that most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

That s where I become reluctant to recommend Deborah Tannen s teaching strategy. Looking back on
my public education experience I can think of a lot more exceptions to this description of how boys
and girls use language differently than agreements. Again, I m relying on personal experiences and I
can of course also recall instances where men have dominated a classroom discussion. However, for
me to say that all boys dominated girls during classroom discussions in Phoenix, AZ during the last
stretch of the 20th century or that all girls are reluctant to speak publicly outside of the comfort of
their peer group in Honolulu, HI during the beginning of the 21st century would be disingenuous and
could probably be attributed to an expectancy bias.
Could these statements hold true in a different time, culture or geography? Absolutely. My guess is
that none of the cited researchers whose work this article was predicated upon could have possibly
conceived of a world where, new students that are assigned a questionnaire on Alcohol and Other
Drugs , have six categories to choose from under gender . Though, I have been to plenty of countries
that are ostensibly 20 30 years behind our cultural revolutions where segregation is more prevalent
and gender identity is sufficiently binary to benefit from Deborah s

The victim should receive a phone call from witness care unit to tell them about what time, date and
which court to attend the trial. (CPS.gov.uk, 2012, p6) In some instances, the victim only finds out the
case is going to go ahead the next day. This is problematic and can cause the victim a great deal of
distress if the victim is not kept up to date with the proceedings and as discussed before there could be
problems with work and childcare at short notice.
Barriers in court
One of the barriers that some victims encounter is having to wait a long time in the witness service
area. The witness charter states that victims should not wait longer than 2 hours before giving
evidence (Gov.uk, 2018, p13). Sometimes the witnesses are waiting all day before actually giving
evidence, this could be for several reasons such as other case being heard first in that court or within
their case there has been a point of law which has appeared and the barristers and the judge need to
talk it over, before witnesses are called to give evidence (this is not the Witness Services fault, and is
out of the Witness Services control).

Effects Of Ship Pollution

POLLUTION
Abstract: Life itself arose from the oceans. The ocean is vast, covering 140 million square miles, some
72 per cent of the earth s surface. Not only has the oceans always been a prime source of nourishment
for the life it helped generate, but from earliest recorded history it has served for trade and commerce,
adventure and discovery. It has kept people apart and brought them together. Humans have always had
a close relationship with the aquatic environment, including the early use of the sea for food
harvesting and communication. Today, the sea is an important component of the transportation system,
with large amounts of cargo and passengers. This chapter provides a short introduction to ships and
shipping also introduces the environmental impacts related to ship operations. Ship transportation has
increased tremendously since the industrial revolution, which has resulted in increased emissions due
to shipping and increased stresses on the environment. Keywords: Ship, Shipping transportation,

Stepping Into Something New
Last week I told my boss once my 12 week session was complete I would be taking a break, and I
would only be available to sub. While this seems weird to cut off my income. The income was small,
and the energy that it took was very demanding.
After the conversation was over, I felt relieved and open to new opportunities, which are now
appearing.
While I loved my job, I was feeling restricted in what I can teach people as far as nutrition, mindset
and faith. I was also feeling the need to earn more money for myself, my family and the ministries I
believe in.
My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health
coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, in my new business I will work with clients,
mostly women, to help make lifestyle changes and choose health promoting ways that produce real
and lasting results.
I have been invited to open my own office in the new Kingdom Center being opened in my area, by a
worldwide ministry called The Healing Rooms. I am so excited to be joining forces with this ministry!

Possible Causes and Effects of Internet Addiction
Psychodynamic focuses on the conscience and unconscious mind of an individual where as
Behaviourism, is based on the behaviour of the individual without taking into account any thoughts of
the individual. The two theories are both deterministic and both believe that our current behaviour is a
result of previous events. A behaviourists would suggest that psychology is a science of behaviour, not
a science of mind, the sources of an individual s behaviour is external, in the environment, not
internal. The psychodynamic approach studies the relationship between the mind and personality of
the individual, and the theory beleives that a person s behaviour is driven by emotions, mental aspects,
and subconscious forces. Dr Kimberly S Young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who practice behaviour therapy are called behaviourists and tend to look more at specific,
learned behaviours and how the environment has an impact on those behaviours. (2) They tend to look
for treatment outcomes that are objectively measurable. (3) Most behaviour therapists use
interventions, structured interviews, or different behavioural rating forms, these different assesments
are used so the therapist can determine exactly what the individuals problem may be. As behaviour
therapists believe that current behaviours arise from previous physical events, I do not think that this
therapy would be best suited to a paitent with an Internet addiction disorder, I believe that the patient
has an underlying disorder such as depression and or anxiety. Researchers suggest that persons with
social anxiety disorder often feel more comfortable using online communication methods versus face
to face interactions due to high levels of fear and anticipation of threat and negative evaluation
associated with live interactions. Furthermore, research has established a clear connection between
social anxiety and problematic internet use but little is known about the specific factors involved in
this connection. (4) Internet addiction disorder has only recently been taken into consideration, and
has been added as a form of impulse control disorder Impulse control disorder, Kleptomania,
Pyromania, Pathological gambling, Sexual compulsion and Obsessive compulsive disorders all

Tartuffe Reflection
Love in the time of cholera helped me understand a bit more of my culture. Although, I am not
Columbian It did make me more culturally aware of the Columbian people and how they re lives must
have been during the time set in the novel. There we re point where I was able to guide the discussion
in relation to the Spanish language in where we talked about the informal tu. I also discussed the fact
about how Fermina Daza gradually decays from strong headed young adult to conformant wife. In my
opinion t felt to interpret a novel in front of my school and my class mates. We also had a talk about
the role of women in Tartuffe; especially with the maid and the future spouse of Valere, Marianne. We
talked about how Damis and Marianne were complete

Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Vpns Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Virtual Private Networks Electronic technology is growing at a rapid rate; more devices are made mobile and wireless, but with those improvement and developments come flaws and malicious opportunities. Cyber attacks are on the rise and no system or device is immune. Many organizations employ multiple layers of firewalls but that doesn t completely eliminate the threat. Attacks against firewalls and virtual private networks or VPNs are constantly being exploited with new methods everyday, but they are yet another obstacle that a cyber criminal must overcome. First let s discuss what a firewall is and what a firewall is capable of doing. Firewall applications are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, many firewalls come with so many rules or policies that they can counteract the security desired and create loopholes for network threats or actually block traffic that is desired or requested by the user. These issues make it really important to understand how all rules and policies in the firewall work and how to apply them. Another tool often used for secure reasons and also as a reliable method to share information remotely is called a Virtual Private Network or VPN. Henry describes A VPN as a group of computers (or discrete networks) networked together over a public network namely, the internet (para 3, 2012). Basically, it s a private network created to allow remote access through a public network. Most often you will see that employees on airplanes or in a public place that will require and utilize these VPNs to access their business resources for all kinds of information, but some people just use it as a means to use their network without physically compromising the actual systems. A good VPN can provide many functions such as access anywhere worldwide without dedicated lines, data security, remote access to business resources and better employee production. For these VPNs to perform these functions properly they are required to provide reliability by ensuring that the network does not break down before reaching its max capacity, scalability to ensure the ability to expand as business grows, and of ... The political structure that Cahokia operates under is a chiefdom in which the chief is a hereditary leader over a group of towns. Chiefdoms are based on the communal culture of gift giving and commercial links and trade routes and this is what supports our city. The chief has the most power over us he controls our land and economy and the rest of us are considered subordinate to our chief. A part of the chief s job is to organize us through different obligations such as tribute, shared labor, and rituals. We tend to the fertile land, which provides us with an abundance of maize, beans, and squash. The land is so fertile along the Mississippian river where we live; we attribute the abundance of maize to our corn goddess. Political betting is different from Sports in this sense, as it is unlikely political betters will make the move across to sports betting. People may have been betting to keep an interest in the result and to gamble on their own analytical ability. It could be suggested this is what makes political gambling an interesting topic, as those placing the bets may fall outside those who are typical gamblers. This pain is strange because it is located in an appendage that no longer exists. By many of the amputees the pain is described as totally unbearable. Phantom limb pain has even driven some victims crazy. For the amputee population this is a very real problem that definitely needs to be solved. When a body part is lost the corresponding part of the brain is not able to handle the loss and rewires its circuitry to make up for the signals it was no longer receiving from the missing digit. The rewiring might occur in one of two ways. Perhaps nerve impulses in the sensory cortex begin to course down previously untraveled pathways. The second theory is that neighboring neurons in the cortex may actually invade the territory left fallow because sensations are no longer received from the missing limb. Birbaumer, Lutzenberger, Montoya, and Wolfgang (1997) examined the functional relationship between cortical reorganization and phantom limb pain. Neuroelectric source imaging was used to determine changes in cortical reorganization in the somatosensory cortex after anesthesia of an amputation stump produced by brachial plexus blockage in six phantom limb pain patients and four pain free amputees. This cortical reorganization was studied to examine whether the neurons rewired after the loss of an appendage. Three of the phantom limb subjects experienced a virtual elimination of current phantom pain. Irony, a key element to a tragic play like Macbeth, has the ability to make the tragic hero appear more villainous or the down fall seem even more tragic. The second type of literary device that Shakespeare uses in Macbeth is symbolism. The predominant symbol is blood and is used as an effective method to describe the theme of the play. Not only does blood symbolize bravery, it is also a means of showing treachery and treason and probably most importantly, guilt. One example of bravery occurs when the captain says, For brave Macbeth well he deserves that name /Disdaining fortune, with his brandished steel,/Which smoked with bloody execution (1.2.16 18). Soon after this blood changes into a representation of treachery and treason. Lady Macbeth asks the spirits to Make thick my blood,/ Stop up th access and passage to remorse (1.5. 43 44). She asks the spirits to take away compassion and make her remorseless for the actions she is about to take. Also, when Ross asks, Is t known who did this more than bloody deed? (2.4.22), he tries to figure out who performed the disloyal act of murdering the king. Blood is also used many times to express the guilt ridden consciences of the characters. For instance, Macbeth says, What hands are here? Ha! They pluck out mine own eyes!/ Will all great Neptune s ocean wash the blood/ Clean from my hand? (2.3.58 60). But, this system could not be scaled up when mobile devices became more common. Modifying each device s address, such as that of a mobile phone or laptop, each time it moved from one location to another became very complex. To resolve this issue, dynamic address configuration was developed, and soon became the standard addressing system for most networks around the world. All kinds of networks, from coffee shops to corporate networks, use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to connect a multitude of devices to the internal networks as well as the Internet. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When DHCP snooping is enabled, a database called the DHCP snooping table or binding table is created. This database stores the lease information from the switching device. This includes the IP MAC address binding, the lease time for the IP address, the type of binding, VLAN name, and interface for each host. The entries in the binding table are updated when significant changes occur in the network. For example, when a client sends a DHCPRELEASE message to release an IP address, the corresponding entry in the table is deleted. The entry associated with a device is also deleted if the timeout value or lease time of the IP address assigned by the DHCP server expires. However, if you move a network device from one VLAN to another, the device acquires a new IP address. In this case, the corresponding entry, including its VLAN ID, is updated in the table. DHCP Snooping Process Here s what happens when DHCP snooping is enabled on a switching device: A network host requests for an IP address by sending a DHCPDISCOVER packet to the switching device. The switching device sends the packet to the DHCP server. The server in turn offers the host an IP address by returning a DHCPOFFER packet to the switching device. The switching device confirms that the offer is from a trusted interface, and sends the packet to the host. The host then accepts the address through a DHCPREQUEST packet. • 24. Analysis Of America By Claude Mckay Claude Mckay was an African American poet originally from Jamaica, and an important figure in the Harlem Renaissance, writing about his experience with racism and the bigoted society in America. America, written by the poet Claude Mckay, was published in the year 1921. The 1920 s, also known as the Roaring Twenties, were a time of great wealth and jubilee before the fall of the economy during the Great Depression at the end of the decade. But underneath this surface of contentment, there was a dark side that Americans did not care to address in society. The Jim Crow laws were in full force and took away many rights of African Americans, ostracizing and belittling them. Claude Mckay was a voice of retaliation against this hatred, and America is all about the duality of Mckay s feelings towards America. Since Mckay is from Jamaica, he has a unique perspective as an immigrant to a country that is supposed to be welcoming. It s a constant push and pull between love and hatred of what this country has to offer. The title of this poem, America, blatantly shows what this poem is going to be about. America is a sonnet comprised of three quatrains and a couplet, which results in 14 lines total. He also uses the iambic pentameter which consists of a short syllable followed by a stressed syllable, which gives the poem a sort of rhythm. A quatrain is a stanza with alternating rhymes, and this is demonstrated with the last words of the first and third, second and fourth, lines of each quatrain rhyming with each other (a b a b c d c d e f e f g g). Mckay begins the poem by expressing his contempt towards what America has done to him in the first quatrain. The pronoun She is used to personify America as a woman or a motherly figure who feeds him the bread of bitterness . America also sinks into my throat her tiger s tooth which provides an imagery of a huge feline biting into Mckay s throat with no warning. The poet depends on his nation to provide him with the basic necessities to survive, but instead he receives injustice. Yet he says he loves this cultured hell that tests my youth which uses cultured hell as an oxymoron for America s sophisticated and wayward aspects. This line in the first quatrain ... • 25. How Did The British Agricultural Revolution Anthony Perez 03 20 2015 Period EF The British Agricultural Revolution The British Agricultural Revolution was a time where agricultural production in England increased due to land productivity and labor. This revolution took place between 1690 and the 1850 s. During this time, there were many developments emerging from this era. Developments included an increase in farm size, land claims, land drains, and development of a national market based on minimal government regulation to name a few. One of the most important innovations was the crop rotations. Crop rotation was a practice of growing a series of different crops in the same area in different seasons. In 1701, a seed drill was invented by Jethro Tull that allowed corn to be sown in regular rows. The seed drill produced less wasteful crops and made laying seeds easier and more efficient. In 1703, The Rotherham plow was invented in a village in Yorkshire making plows easier to handle and turned the soil more effectively. Later in 1786, A Scotsman named Andrew Meikle invented a thrashing machine that was used to separate ears of corn from stalks. The thrashing machine made picking corn ears faster and more efficient, and required a lot less labor. The first machine made in the 19th century was the first ever reaping machine invented by Robert Ransome. The only difference between this invention and the seed drill, was the durability. Robert s reaper was a lot stronger and more efficient. The last invention related to agriculture was the evolution of steam power. Steam power was applied to plowing. The power was fixed to long cable connected to the plows that were then pulled across the farm by a stationary steam engines. Steam power would increase efficiency and productivity unlike the human hand. A farmer could only cut one furrow at once, while the machine can do multiple furrows at ... The €341 million over performance in VAT revenues in the first 11 months of the year have to be analyzed alongside the €312 million corporate tax over performance in November alone. An €800 million surge in October shows just how corporate tax has taken off this year. With unemployment lower than anticipated, at 8.9% in November, income tax receipts were still below target in this month. The buildup of €16.56 billion in income tax since the start of the year is €801 million stronger than in 2014 and €51 million ahead of target. This shows the exchequer is taking the benefit of the return to drudgery. However, the failure to reach the November target even as employment growth accelerates raises questions as to whether job growth is coming from low paid work outside the income tax net. Health spending to end November was €465 million ahead of target. • 33. The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals By its definition, folk music technically refers to indigenous forms of music created by local, regional or native populations as a way of engaging in cultural expression. This means that at its core, folk music is not intended to command a commercial value nor is it necessarily folk music by definition once a form has been co opted by an outside culture. However, this is also a definition for folk which has long been rendered obsolete by the aesthetic and vocal qualities that listeners tend to associate with the genre today. This is because the most historically significant instances in which folk music converged with the commercial zeitgeist would come to produce a highly distinctive set of sounds. Indeed, when we think of folk music, one tends instantly to conjure image of a young Bob Dylan with harmonica rack and guitar, wheezing his half singing, half speaking vocal style in Greenwich Village. This iconic vision from the Folk Revival of the 1960s is probably the best bridge that we have to folk influences like the socialist activists of the Almanac Singers and the Weavers, like Delta country folk singers like Mississippi John Hurt or Josh White, or like bluegrass innovators such as the Carter Family. Indeed, Nelson (2010) tells that figures such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and John and Alan Lomax, made a huge impact on folk music in America, one which is still felt today.
