What Is The Theme Of USup De Des
Un Coup de Des Analysis Extra Credit
In english, Un Coup de Des means the throw of the dice. This poem begins with heavy imagery of a
ship being tossed around in the sea. However, the meaning is something different, not quite as literal,
and the symbolism throughout the poem is what makes this possible.
The ship mentioned in the start of the poem could easily be a symbol for just a simple person being
thrown into the world with endless opportunities, yet still a big shadow or abyss of the scary unknown
is always there to accompany it. The unknown might toss you around like the raging waves of the
ocean in a storm crashing high or might make you feel comfortable in a lul between waves not
knowing what s to come. The next part of the poem, in the line, the Master, beyond former ... Show

From this portion of the poem it could be argued that it is refering to the time that God was physically
on earth, having the whole world at his feet, literally, then later he dies. However, he did not just
disappear completely because he is still all around in spirit controlling everything. Next it moves on to
speak of a man without a vessel who is empty symbolizing maybe he is empty because he does not
know God, who is a vessekl that could save him the perils of the storm. In the portion following, the
poem talks about a demon in a way that he may not be a figure as well known as God, but he could be
the one responsible for leading the empty men to the dark side as opposed to helping them overcome
it, disguising it as his childlike shade . However, the statement the veil of illusion proves that this is
nothingmore than an illusion and everything is not as it seems, and this veil will fall and reveal the
true evil. The next part of the poem shifts the mood slightly it takes on a lighter feel. It talks about

A Research Study On Scar Markers
SCAR markers are PCR based primers that represent genomic DNA fragments at genetically defined
loci, that are identified by PCR amplification using sequence specific oligonuceotide primers (Paran
and Michelmore, 1993; Me Dermott et al., 1994). Inception of SCARs involves cloning the amplified
products of arbitrary marker techniques and then sequencing the 2 ends of the cloned products. The
sequence s therefore used to design specific primer pairs of 15 30 bp which will amplify single major
bands of the size similar to that of the cloned fragment.
The greater the variation in DNA sequence, the easier it is to generate polymorphic markers. Therefore
the plant species used for SCAR development should have sufficient variation for te traits of interest
at both the DNA sequence and phenotypic levels. Researchers over the years have employed various
non sequence primed PCR markers to develop SCAR markers for the identification of sex in dioecious
species of crop plants.
Chromosomes and its sex determining genes have driven genetic control of sex determination in
dioecious crops. In dioecious crops a vast variability has been seen in the genetically controlled sex
determination and a DNA polymorphism has been mainly attributed, that are directly involved in
expression of particular sexual phenotpe (Aryal and Ming, 2013). In dioecious crops either one of the
crops will be of great agricultural or commercial interests like Simmondsia chinensis, Hippophae
rhamnoides. In Garcinia

Socrates Paper
Socrates is believed to be one of the greatest philosophers of all time and he is credited as being the
founder of western philosophy. This paper will explain some of his views to the most fundamental
questions of today s age. These questions will include topics about morality, the human condition,
solution, and death. After Socrates views on these topics are explained, a critique will be done on his
answers. I will start out by explaining exactly who Socrates is, and the time that he lived in. To start
out, we will first examine Socrates view on morality.
There are many questions that could be asked about the topic of morality. Questions like, what are the
central moral principles, who is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It interferes and holds back the soul s search for the truth and causes all bad things in the world. It is
not necessarily the physical body itself, as much as it is the desires that it brings with it.
With the question of human condition being answered, Socrates now can answer another one of our
fundamental questions. This question is Solution. Solution proposes a way to fix what has gone with
the world and mankind. In Socrates eyes, the world s greatest problem was the attachment to the
human body. He proposes that this can be fixed by detaching oneself from the body. Socrates partially
explains this by saying It seems that so long as we are alive, we shall keep as close as possible to
knowledge if we avoid as much as we can all contact and association with the body, except when
absolutely necessary; and instead of allowing ourselves to become infected with its nature, purify
ourselves from it until God himself gives us deliverance. In this way, by keeping ourselves
uncontaminated by the follies of the body, we shall probably reach the company of others like
ourselves and gain direct knowledge of all that is pure and uncontaminated that is, presumably, of
Truth. (Phaedo 67a b). Socrates also talks about the importance of purification of the mind as another
solution, which ends up coming back to the separation of the soul from the body. This can be seen
when Socrates

The Art And Reflection Of The Red Room
The rich raspberry red blanketed over the canvas is more than enough to entice it s viewers. The Red
Room, made by Henri Matisse in 1908 is and has been a highly popular piece of artwork. The art
piece captured what it meant to be a fauvist artist with its bright colors and unrealistic appearance.
Matisse and other fauvist artists decided to go against what society decided was normal at the time and
succeeded. My recreation of the Red Room uses the same intensity of color, line, shape, form, texture,
space, unity, balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, and proportion to represent the greatly valued art
piece. The Red Room is an oil on canvas artwork that is exceedingly two dimensional while still
showing examples of space. The art portrays a woman setting up a table within a highly saturated red
room. The table and the wall paper are almost indistinguishable if it weren t for the thin wobbly line
that differentiated them. A blue branch like pattern spans from the bottom of the canvas to the top
while staying in the range of the table and wall. Also part of the pattern are vases of flowers that are
additionally outlined in black. On the table are various circular fruits, mainly in the color yellow,
green, orange, and red. Beside the fruit are long round bottomed vases that are half full of some sort of
elixir. The fruit and vases were common to see in Matisse s work during that period, Matisse turned to
a motif common in the works created that year: a room decorated with

Boxer Rebellion Research Paper
The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising that took place in the late 1800s of China because Western
influence. A strong majority of the people of China at the time were very upset that the government
chose to do little to nothing about it. People were planning to take a stand. They believed that with the
strength of their own fists, they could win, hence the name Boxers , and thus the Boxer Rebellion was
born. Although, the influence of Western culture in China starting in the 1800s brought many positive
impacts to China, inevitably, as a result of the Opium Wars, the Scramble for Concessions , and
Christianity, led to the Boxers taking a stand. A major contributor to why this rebellion took place was
because of the previous attempts that had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many would argue it is the true number one, primary reason that the Boxer Rebellion occurred in the
first place. The spread of Christianity in China at this time was an extremely convincing sing of
Western influence. Luella Miner was among the westerners that happened to be in China during the
Boxer Rebellion. According to her, their motto was essentially Kill the foreign devils, Kill...Kill...Kill!
. This motto would greatly explain the violence and aggression shown by the Boxers during the
rebellion. Many Boxers claim to have been primarily annoyed with the Western influence in China at
the time. Christianity would have played a key role in demonstrating Western imperialism, which is
what would explain the murdering of thousands of Christian missionaries and Chinese Christians
living in China at the time. When considered, there are not many things that scream Western culture
more than Western religion itself. Opium was only a substance that many Chinese enjoyed abusing
and Western ways of ruling were heavily affected by that country s religious beliefs. This is why
Christianity would have received the primary amounts of hate from the Boxers. Many Chinese
Christians and missionaries were murdered as a result of the Boxer Rebellion. Approximately 32,000
and 200 missionaries were murdered. This figure more clearly can demonstrate the hate towards these
Christians, and the effects they were having on the development

The Little Mouse
The little mouse crouched in the bush. Ginger went into a hunting crouch he snuck up on the mouse.
Right when he was about to pounce, he heard a grumbling the mouse scapered away and Ginger woke
up with a start. He jumped down from his twoleg bed and walked out into the kitchen. He had been
having this dream for many moons now. He looked down at his food bowl and ate the food. His fur
was glimmering in the morning sun. His dream reminded him of how he always wanted to live in the
forest and hunt for mice. He went out to his twolegs garden. He looked at the forest beyond his home.
He wanted to go and live a life in the forest ever since he was a kit. He had heard of stray cats that
lived in the forest beyond. He thought that maybe he could join them.
He decided it was time he journeyed away from his home into the forest beyond. He knew it was
going to be hard but it was life he had always dreamed of. He thought that maybe other cats might
want to come along with him. He knew that none of his kittypet friends would want to come along. I
might be able to find other cats along the way , he thought. He knew that it was to early to leave today.
He to prepare for the long journey ahead. He had to find the cats that wanted to go with him today. He
jumped down from the fence and started looking.
This task is harder than I inferred , he said to himself. Maybe I should ask some cats I know, he

Nursing Diagnosis
Nursing Diagnosis I Nursing Diagnosis I for Patient R.M. is ineffective airway clearance related to
retained secretions. This is evidenced by a weak unproductive cough and by both objective and
subjective data. Objective data includes diagnosis of pneumonia, functional decline, and dyspnea.
Subjective data include the patient s complaints of feeling short of breath, even with assistance with
basic ADLs. This is a crucial nursing diagnosis as pneumonia is a serious condition that is the eighth
leading cause of death in the United States and the number one cause of death from infectious diseases
(Lemon, Burke, 2011). It is vital to keep the airway clear of the mucus that may be produced from the
inflammatory response of pneumonia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This enhances the clearance of secretions from airways (Spark and Taylor, 2011). Also, to help the
patient have normal breath sounds the nurse should turn the patient every two hours for maximal
aeration of lung fields and mobilization of secretions. This repositioning of the patient prevents
pooling and stasis of respiratory secretions (Sparks and Taylor, 2011). R.M. was able to meet this goal;
he had clear lung sounds to auscultation by the end of the shift on 2/12/14. The final goal of this care
plan is for the patient to express feeling of comfort in maintaining air exchange and increased
knowledge by discharge. This nurse can implement this goal by teaching the patient relaxation
techniques, which reduce oxygen demand, as well as assessing the patients learning needs and
providing appropriate information to the patient about reducing their oxygen demands to help prevent
the reoccurrence of obstruction (Sparks and Taylor, 2011). Nursing Diagnosis II R.M. s second
nursing diagnosis imbalanced nutrition less than body requirements related to lack of nutrition as
evidenced by untouched food trays. This care plan is also evidenced by subjective and objective
evidence. In R.M. s patient chart, the previous nurses had noted subjectively that the patient does not
touch food trays and objectively that less than 50% of all meals since hospitalization had been
consumed. Patient R.M. needs to improve his nutritional intake so that he can provide his body with

Progressive Independent Party Analysis
With Hillary Clinton s recent self proclamation of securing the Democratic nomination, along with the
heated 2016 presidential election, has come an Independent, Progressive political movement, with
citizens calling for action against a system widely believed to have failed them.
It s time to finally have a vibrant, exciting, VIABLE third party in this country, a place where many of
us who feel disenfranchised; Progressives, Greens, Democratic Socialists, Independents, and
frustrated Democrats and Republicans alike, can feel empowered in the promise of democracy in our
country, says Araquel Bloss, founder of the Progressive Independent Party.
The Party began simply as an online petition written by Ms. Bloss, which quickly went viral after co
founder Steve Poikonen wrote an article and published it on The Morning Nightcap. Mr. Poikonen
states, Her vision was simple, eloquent, and absolutely right the hell on time: Let s build a coalition of
Democrats and Progressives who feel their party has left them in the wilderness. Let s bring in the

Thyroid Storm Case Study
Thyroid storm is an acute exacerbation of hyperthyroidism and is a life threatening situation that
should be treated immediately. Although this is a relatively rare condition, the mortality rate is 20%
which is often caused by multi organ failure or congestive heart failure.3 Common triggers of thyroid
storm include pre existing Grave s disease, radioactive iodine treatment, surgery, trauma, sepsis,
excessive thyroid hormone ingestion, and withdrawal from anti thyroid medications.3 Nick hadn t
experienced any of these, but he has a history of Celiac disease which is an autoimmune disorder and
may be linked to other autoimmune disorders, such as undiagnosed Grave s disease (hyperthyroidism).
Since thyroid storm is merely the worsening of thyrotoxicosis, or hyperthyroidism, the
pathophysiology is the same. There are elevated levels of thyroid hormones due to increased activity
of the thyroid gland. Hyperthyroidism may be primary, indicated by elevated thyroid hormones only,
or it can be a secondary issue to the pituitary gland in which there is elevated TSH and thyroid
hormone levels.1 In addition, hyperthyroidism may more specifically be classified as Grave s disease
if antibodies against the TSH receptor are involved.1 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Lost Boy By Dave Pelzer
The Lost Boy, written by Dave Pelzer is a heartwarming story of a young nine year old boy, David,
who has family issues and is constantly being abused by his mother. Dave Pelzer is a New York Times
Bestseller and a #1 International Bestseller. He has written other books such as A Child Called It , My
Story, and A Man Named Dave, etc. This is my first story read by this author however, I will read
more of his work in the near future. The genre of this book I would say is self help, psychology and
inspirational because it sends out such a strong statement of what this young boy and probably many
other children are dealing with, in other words, it helps raise awareness. I myself did not imagine to be
reading this type of book since I m more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main idea of this book is to show everyone what child abuse and what living in different foster
homes is like because most of the time people don t usually talk about this topic due to sensitivity and
this book helped everyone realize in a subtle way. I learned that this story isn t just imagined, but it
does indeed happen in real life. Children do live in households where the mother or father or whoever
treats them unfair and that is what opened up my eyes. One of the parts in the book that I enjoyed the
most is towards the end of the book for the reason that earlier in the story, when David first ran away
from home he saw a road sign that lead to a lake where him and his family would visit in the past and
right then and there he said he was going to live there when he grew up and in the end, his desire came
true and he lived in a cabin he made himself by the lake with his son, Stephen.
One of my favorite quotes of this story would be on page 303 which says, Years ago, I truly doubted
whether I d make it out alive. In my former life I had very little. Today, as I stand in my utopia, I have
what any person could wish for a life and the love of my son. Stephen and I are a family. The reason I
like this quote is because all his life, David was looking for a family and love and he finally found it.
In conclusion, I would most definitely recommend this book because it s very vulnerable and
emotional. Right from the beginning it may

Mambo Girl Comparative Essay
Films such as Shall We Dansu? and Mambo Girl both display East Asian performance of Latin
American dance forms ballroom and a culmination of Latin American dance styles such as mambo
and cha cha respectively. However, according to dance scholar Juliet McMains, in this process of
transculturation, ballroom dancers are dancing Latin as a means of affirming their distance from Latin
ethnic identity through consciously donning a mask of Latin ness an exotic otherness (304 305). I
impose and further McMains ideas on the films Shall We Dansu? and Mambo Girl. Through
comparative analysis of the movement profile of their two main characters Sugiyama and Kailing,
both vital to the plot and enhance the film s characters and character development, I compare the
characters first dance scene, then moments where they retreat from dancing altogether and lastly,
dance as celebration. The comparison reveals that while dancing is a form of nonverbal
communication, communicating the exoticization of Latin American dance forms in East Asia, it
engages audience s imagination and positions them as co writers of that story; Dance forces the

The Normal Heart Analysis
In the rougher neighborhoods of Queens where I did a majority of my growing up, repression is
survival. Everyone keeps their heads down, shuffles to work in the morning, and shuffles back at
night. There s a pervasive culture of tragedy; it is everywhere: families torn apart by deportations,
young men taken by gang violence and guns, and young children missing mothers and fathers. But, to
survive, it must be as if none of that matters. Shuffle to work, shuffle back. My mother, a very well
educated woman and single parent, fought as hard as she could to provide me with the kind of
education that could pull me away from the dead ends that every other young person fell into. So she
worked double shifts, two jobs, and found a side hustle wherever she could to keep me in private

I read stories and heard tales of people who were just like the people in my neighborhood. People,
now characters, who endured the same sort of loss and continued on bravely with humor and humility,

County allowed me to tell stories and to feel and empathize deeply. To look up at the world instead of
accept it, mourn it, keep my head down and shuffle to work and back.
I live my life to tell stories. All stories are beautiful and everyone deserves to see a face they recognize
telling them a story that explores the struggles they deal with daily. To know we are not alone, and that
art has a meaning full place in our lives as our teachers, is such a comfort. Art teaches us to feel, it

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of
Western music (Sadie , 1) was an Austrian composer born in Salzburg on January 27, 1756 to Leopold

their size but they don t inferior in quality of service by any means. The basic idea of boutique hotel is
a unique, one of a kind, high class accommodation for people with medium to high income that

Ireland has a distinguished style that many people appreciate and enjoy called Celtic design. Any

Argumentative Essay About Video Games
Video games are ubiquitous in modern life. It has not only been a source of entertainment, but also
played an important role in a child growth and brain development. Many parents have a bad
perspective towards video games, they consider it as a devil that corrupts mind and engages their child
into non productive, virtual, and harmful environment. Hence, they try to stop them completely from
playing games by all means. This kind of attitude and behavior from the parent might not only effect
their relationship with their child, but also deprive the child from some advantages of playing video
games that enhance brain power. Therefore, parents should allow their children engage with video
games in reasonable amount.
One main concern of parents is that their child would become an addict, and would not be able to
perform as a healthy successful individual in the society when they grow up. Indeed, intense and
prolong gaming will lead to addiction, which can decrease a person s productivity, and, disturbing the
daily routine, meaning they would stay up all night. However, to be called as an addict one has to

changes, the islands will face destruction. President Nasheed recognized this, but following a political
coup d état, on February 2, 2012, he was forced to resign and was replaced by President Abdulla
Yameen. Unlike Nasheed, President Yameen lacks the sturdy political leadership that is necessary to
fight climate change, and due to this, the Maldivian economy, society, and ecosystem will collapse.
Mohamed Nasheed became President in October 2008 in the first free presidential election in the
Maldives. He quickly became known worldwide for his efforts to help his country, broadcasting his
hope for the Maldives to become the world s first carbon neutral nation by the year 2020 (Gregerson).
Furthermore, he passed numerous bills and programs related to climate change. Not only was Nasheed
an advocate for his nation s climate, but he also wanted to make an impact on the world, stating that, if
we are unable to save countries like the Maldives, it may be too late to save the rest of the world from
the apocalyptic effects of self reinforcing, runaway global warming (Russell). To do this, he

The Housing Affordability Of Australia Growing Rapidly And...
How and why is the housing in Australia growing rapidly and how effective are the government s
policies to control it?
Name: JianYi Wang(keith)

Term:5B EFS 12/2014
Introduction
Recently, The Australian housing market has been growing rapidly which reflects the housing
affordability crisis as the housing price rises much quickly than household incomes. There are two key
observations of current Australian housing market from Yates, firstly today s housing affordability
problem is mainly a structural problem and intensified by cyclical pressures. It began 40 years ago
when inflation switched focus on housing, besides, there are more renters than purchasers under today
s housing stress situation, and the housing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This suggests that there should be a change in Australian housing policies to focus on taxes, land
supply and land use planning policy.
Definition
Housing affordability problems commonly emerge when housing cost increases faster than household
incomes (Yates, 2008). For purchasers, the house price mainly depends on the house price and the
interest rate. In the Australian housing market, increases in the house price and interest rate indicated
the reasons why housing affordability problems occurred over the past few years.
Between 1960 and 2006 real house prices increased at an average of 2.7 percent annually, ahead of a
1.9 percent per annum growth in per household real incomes (Yates, 2008). Therefore, over the past
half century, there has been an underlying structural affordability problem in Australia due to house
price and household income.
Housing demand includes household growth, real incomes, real wealth, tax concessions to both owner
occupied and rental housing, concessions to first homebuyers, returns on alternative investments, cost
and availability of finance for housing and the institutional structure affecting housing finance
provision (Yates, 2008). The growth in the number of households and in real income results in the
increased pressure on housing demand.
The reasons for housing demand increasing
From the view of demand, after 2000, the decreasing interest rate and the availability of

Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Histories And...
Topic: Discuss ways of incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures into
classroom curriculum. In your essay you may wish to develop your ideas using the Australian
Curriculum conceptual framework for embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and
cultures.
Aboriginal Studies and Torres Strait Islander Studies include histories, cultures, values, beliefs,
languages, lifestyles and roles of Aboriginal societies or Torres Strait Islander societies before and
after invasion. This study of Torres Strait Islander people and Aboriginal people presents an accurate
history of Australia.
Indigenous Studies covers both Aboriginal Studies and Torres Strait Islander Studies by definition.

The roots of the White Australia policy can be outlined to the 1850s. Until the White Australia s policy
was abolished in the twentieth century, Australia was officially defined as white. Aboriginal and
Torres Strait islander people were not considered the part of White Australia, and indigenous Studies
was not required in the school curriculum. This meant schooling was culturally unsuitable for
indigenous students. Furthermore, the Australian students were not educated to appreciate Indigenous
cultures either in past or present. Aboriginal Studies is about social justice for all Australians equity,
human rights, a fair go and mutual respect for our fellow Australians. It is hard to define social justice
but everybody knows what it is, particularly when it is missing ( Craven, 2011, p 3).

The Origin Of Aboriginal People
The Oxford dictionary defines the stolen generation as: The Aboriginal people forcibly removed from
their families as children between the 1900s and the 1960s, to be brought up by white foster families
or in institutions. But what the Oxford definition cannot tell us is the horrible impacts of the stolen
generation on: the stolen children, their families, the Aboriginal culture and Australia as a Nation. The
stolen generation was caused by European Australians belief that Aboriginal people were inferior to
them, a belief stemming from the fact that the Aboriginal people had not industrialised and therefore
they appeared primitive to European Australians who had industrialised in the 1700s. The European
Australians also believed that the Aboriginal people were dying out, due to the catastrophic population
decline after the European Australians arrived. This decline in the Aboriginal population was mainly
caused by the arrival of the European Australians whom brought diseases that they had no immunity
for and caused conflict, (such as the frontier wars) that took the lives of many Aboriginal Australians,
causing their population to fall from 700 000 in 1788 to 93000 in 1900. This decline in the Indigenous
peoples numbers eventually lead to the creation of policies such as the Aborigines Protection Act of
1909. This and other similar acts in different states gave the members of the Aboriginal Protection
Board the power to forcibly remove Aboriginal children from their

Topical Lede Examples
My preference, when reading ledes, are descriptive words that capture your attention. The first one I
came across was found on the Associated Press website. It read, WASHINGTON After a combative
start to his presidency, Donald Trump delivered a more unifying message Sunday and sought to
reassure Americans he was ready to begin governing a divided nation (AP, 2017). What I enjoyed here
was the cadence of the words that they used in their lede and how they used their adjectives. It was a
generic topical lede, but it caught my interest because of the words that it used because it pulled no
punches. World news is what interests me the most and when I read through some of the articles that
were presented, I found myself enjoying the different topical ledes more often. The type of ledes that I
hope to emulate are like the one found in the New York Times, MADRID The European police have
arrested 75 people and recovered about 3,500 stolen archaeological artifacts and other artworks as part
of the dismantling of an international network of art traffickers (The New York Times, 2017). The

What I really enjoyed was how informative it was considering the information it was trying to relay.
The Alternative party is new to Germany s political spectrum and it holds values that would best be

Semitic values and is Nazi sympathetic. For a person who is extremely ignorant on world news and
the politics of other countries, this lede is extremely helpful and something that I hope to

Classroom Safety
In my school there are different safety policies for the events, but one thing stays the same throughout
all of the safety policies and that is the bag. Each classroom has the red bag that hangs behind the
door. Inside the red bag is three cards red, green, and yellow that are about the size of conduction
paper and made of plastic. The red card is for a missing student, the yellow for an extra student and
the green for all is good. Inside this bag is also an a set of instructions for every disaster along with a
class roll for both of their blocks, a loud whistle and some latex gloves and Band Aids in a small bag
of their own. In every safety policy the teacher is supposed to bring the bag with them, and

Metal Fencing Pros And Cons
If you re looking to install a new fence, it s important to weigh the pros and cons of each type of
fencing material. Each type of fencing offers unique benefits to homeowners. Two of the most popular
types of fencing materials are metal, which includes aluminum, wrought iron, and steel, and different
types of wood. The metal fencing experts at Creative Iron Arts, located in Oakland, CA, explain the
benefits of choosing a metal fence. Consider these three compelling benefits to choosing metal
fencing: Adds Flair to Your Yard: Metal fences add a look of elegance to the landscape of a home. The
dark metallic finishes of these types of fences look visually appealing against porches, decks, or
around a garden. Wrought iron ornamental fences give a Victorian feel to your property. An expertly
crafted fence might even increase your property value. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metal fencing does not need any type of maintenance, staying rust free and maintaining its luster for
many years. It also doesn t need to be stained or sealed and will maintain its shape without warping.
Deters Crime: Metal fencing also works as an effective crime deterrent. You can choose a tall fence
with pointed barbs to make it difficult to climb, and you can even tie the fence in with security
systems to keep criminals off of your property. The metal fabricators at Creative Iron Arts can help

Stop Illegal Searches in Schools
Regardless of the possibility of students having illicit substances on campus, the 4th Amendment
should apply to students because students could have embarrassing items in their bag. If a student was
coming in from being off campus, they could have their bag searched by an adult in the school if they
suspected they were carrying illegal items. However, if the student had personal items in their
backpack and were embarrassed about them in any way, having a person dig through their bag to look
for illicit substances that they would most likely not possess in the first place would cause the student
mental strain and a possible loss of trust in the adult carrying out the search and others in the school
that didn t challenge the validity of the search. In the court case of Safford Unified School District, the
administrators of Safford Middle School strip searched a thirteen year old girl. The administrators
were informed that she was in the possession of prescription strength ibuprofen and had given some to
another student. The school was not provided a specific time or location that this had occurred. They
had no evidence besides the word of another student that she possessed the pills, and therefore the
search was unreasonable. More importantly, there was no reason for the school authorities to strip
search a thirteen year old girl and cause her and her mother emotional trauma, especially not for
alleged non specific possession of an amount of ibuprofen equivalent to two Advil

I like this because I support you about giving benefits for Hollywood such as awakening audience s
awareness about real image of the ethnic groups, producing chances for foreign actors, and raising a
lot of profits if Hollywood writers and directors have a social responsibility to avoid stereotyping
ethnic characters.
Base 1: Unity
1. Is there a clearly stated thesis in the introductory paragraph? Yes, you mentioned a clear thesis
statement at the end of the first paragraph, Hollywood writers and directors should have a social
responsibility to avoid stereotyping ethnic characters because it can help audience aware of the true
nature of ethnic groups, create more opportunity for foreign actors, and increase the profits for

I knew more about benefits as well as positives for Hollywood if Hollywood writers and directors

Base 2: Support
1. Is there specific evidence? Yes, there was specific evidence that supported to giving benefits for
Hollywood.
2. Is there plenty of it? Yes, the evidence was very clear and helped the readers know the benefits of
Hollywood if Hollywood writers and directors have a social responsibility to avoid stereotypes.
My comments: I liked your sentence that you wrote in the third paragraph, Hollywood directors do not
give lead roles for Asian actors because they are fearing that Americans do not accept an Asian face on
the silver screen, not because there are not many talented Asian or their wage levels are too high
which is basically due to the fact that existed for more than half a century. Hollywood directors had
discrimination about color actors and did not acknowledge their talent for a long time, so it leads to
stereotyping ethnic characters.

Organisation Structure. Organisational Structure Is A System
Organisation Structure
Organisational structure is a system used to define a hierarchy within an organisation. It identifies
each job, its function and where it reports to within the organisation. When hiring large amounts of
staff organisation is important. Everyone in the company needs to understand their individual/team
role. It is the manager s job to keep their staff organised and motivated to getting the job done. As the
business grows in size and therefore takes on more staff, managers need to make sure employees
understand their role within the company. Organisation is the way a business is structured. This
structure is developed to establish how an organisation operates and assists an organisation in

As you can see the image above also does fit its name because as you go down it, it gets thicker

Chain of Command and Employee Roles
A traditional hierarchical structure clearly defines each employee s role within the organisation and
demonstrates who that employee works for in that department/area. Furthermore, it defines the nature
of their relationship with other employees. Hierarchical organisations are often tall with narrow spans
of control, which will always get wider as you move down the structure. They are often centralised
with the most important decisions being taken by senior management.
Tall Structure Tall structures, like the one above, have many levels of hierarchy. An advantage of this
structure is that the span of control is very narrow and long therefore there are many opportunities for
promotion. However, a disadvantage of this organisational structure is that lines of communication are
long, due to many levels in the chain of command and this may mean that messages get lost or
tampered with on their way to the bottom and the firm is unresponsive to change. Another advantage
of this structure is that each manager in each level of command has fewer staff or employees to watch
over and control. This means that their job is easier as they only have to closely manage a few people
and they can keep them on the task at hand. As a result of close management it means that the

Search Theory, Linear And Random Walk Moving Target On The...
Abstract. This paper presents the cooperation between two searchers at the origin to seek for a random
walk moving target on the line. Any information of the target position is not available to the searchers
all the time. Rather than finding the conditions that make the expected value of the first meeting time
between one of the searchers and the target is finite, we show the existence of the optimal search
strategy which minimizes this first meeting time. The effectiveness of this model is illustrated using
numerical example.

Recently, Mohamed et al. [15] studied this problem when the target moves on one of n intersected real
lines in which any information of the target position is not available to the searchers all the time.
Mohamed et al. formulate a search model and find the conditions under which the expected value of
the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. Furthermore, they showed
the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of the first meeting time
and found it. More recently, El Hadidy [16] considered a search problem for a d dimensional
Brownian target that moves randomly on d space. He found the conditions that make the expected
value of the first meeting time between one of the searchers and the target is finite. In addition, he
showed the existence of the optimal search plan that minimizes the expected value of this first meeting
time. A comprehensive discussion of many aspects of search problem is found in El Hadidy et al. [18

One of the famous search methods, is the coordinated linear search method which consider two unit

Question Number 2:
What aspects of the need satisfaction theory has Kim Fernandez incorporated into her approach to

According to the need satisfaction theory, the role of the professional salesperson is to identify the
needs of the customers and then recommend a product or service that satisfies them. Salespeople
should conduct a systematic assessment of the prospect s situation. This usually involves collecting as
much information as possible and using a series of careful questions to obtain the customer s point of
view. Answers to the questions help the salespeople pinpoint the insight needs of the customers.
The key basic beliefs that serve as foundation stones for need satisfaction theory are the following:
A mutual exchange of feelings, ideas and perceptions between the buyers and the sellers exists.
Systematic inquiry is necessary to establish the individual needs of unique customers.
Salespeople take a two way advocacy position, representing the interest of the company and of their
clients with the equal dignity and skill. High performing salespeople bring the sales task a genuine

Indentured Servants And African Slaves
As a student of United States history, I have learned new information concerning certain subject
matters. My prior knowledge of US history about these certain topics, such as, indentured servants and
the institution of slavery was minimal. The reason for this is most of my prior knowledge of these
important topics were forgotten. The question I always asked myself what was the difference between
indentured servants and African slaves? Through my personal studying on the subject matter, I have

indentured servants from Europe, African slavery, and finding the similarities and differences of these
two types of labor.
During the 1600s Europe was absorbed in the Thirty Year s War, which depressed the economy at the
time. Many young males skilled and unskilled were looking for work. These young men had hoped

Nancy Spero Analysis
I believe I m directly contradicting the way human beings are represented in our society. I think the
universal is the male. And so in my deliberately turning this around and trying to universalize the
female, I tried to challenge myself to look at the world as I wanted to, as a woman artist, realizing the
complexities of doing so because the world isn t really that way .
Nancy Spero was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1926. Her early development as an artist was highly
influenced by the Chicago art scene, the city from which Art Institute she graduated. Chicago s art
scene was resistant to the one in New York where Abstract Expressionism was going on at the time
while in Chicago figuration remained more important. Spero, while aware of Abstract Expressionism,
she was also resistant to it as her main interest was painting the figurative expressionism. She believed
that nothing could eradicate human presence, although she did recognize its importance, as she

Criminal Responsibility In Criminal Behavior Research
Criminal responsibility revolves around intent, which is a theme in debate on culpability. The study to
be reviewed was led by Williams et al (2010), which found at the age of 16, 46% of offenders
interviewed reported TBI. The main cause of the TBI was violence. Reports of more than three TBIs
were associated with a greater proportion of violence in criminal offences, suggesting number of TBI
is positively correlated with number of aggressive acts. Research in the past similarly indicates
individuals who experience traumatic brain injury (TBI) are more likely to commit future criminal
acts (Raine et al, 2005). Individuals with TBI affecting the frontal lobes are at an increased risk of
impulsive aggression and reduced affective empathy (Brower Price, 2001), characteristics evident in
frequent offenders (Jolliffe Farrington, 2004). This suggests an increased risk of criminal behaviour,
post TBI, especially when the frontal area is damaged. Thus, can TBI be used to reach the not guilty
verdict in court, by reasons of diminished responsibility or can it be argued other premorbid variables
at work? I critique Williams et al (2010) and propose when violent behaviour is the cause of TBI,
there should be consideration of whether the behaviour ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

inform consent form to be able to assess progress of effective goals from other services involved. This
would be helpful for readjustment of goals. When monitoring the progress of Jimmy s behavior,
parents would journal Jimmy s daily actions. They would solicit reports from his school teacher on his
participation and disruption in class. Moreover, with the inform consent release I as counselor would
communicate with each resource program Jimmy and the family are in. This would give data on what

Sharks
What do you think of when you hear the word Shark ? Do you think of the lion of the ocean or
perhaps God s perfect predator/scavenger? Perhaps you think of the movie JAWS ? Most people will
think of the movie JAWS and think killer, attacker, and predator. However, are sharks really preying
on humans? I view sharks as God s perfect predator and scavenger. Sharks, like lions, weed out the
sick and slow fish to keep the population strong. They also scavenge on the bottom of the ocean any
carcasses that settle there. The attacks on humans are more likely the shark tasting to see if the
movement is a fish. When the shark realizes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both these sharks feed on fish and the Great White is also known to feed on larger prey. The Great
White Sharks have been known to attack humans swimming and surfing in the seas. The Tiger Shark
is approximately 4.5 meters long and has a reputation for eating a wide range of animals and even
inanimate objects. They have found license plates in the stomach of a Tiger Shark. Because of its
discernment regarding food, this shark is one of the most dangerous ones for human attacks. The Sand
Tiger Shark, not to be confused with the Tiger Shark, even though large, is relatively peaceful and will
only attack if provoked. The Nurse Shark will reach approximately 4.3 meters and favor shallow
temperate waters. The Blue Shark prefers the deep, cooler waters of the tropical and temperate oceans.
They can give birth to large litters from 25 to 100 pups at one time. The Mako Shark vary in length
between 2.7 to 4.5 meters. These sharks are in the same family as the Great White Sharks so they can
be fairly aggressive. The most aggressive shark is the Bull Shark. This shark is known as being
unpredictable and aggressive even towards humans. Many of the attacks and fatalities recorded each
year is from this shark. The Bull Shark is found in warm, shallow waters and can live in both
freshwater and saltwater environments. In fact, it is said that JAWS was based on a Bull Shark, but
since the Great White is a better looking,

Othello Definition Of A Hero Essay
Nowadays, society has evolved in different directions when it comes to defining a hero.
Some individuals may see a hero as someone who is known for their good deeds and remarkable super
powers like the ones that are shown today in films. Even though, this can be true to a certain extent,
these qualities are not the only ones that are used to compose the ideal hero. As society has progressed
throughout the years, the characterization of who a hero is has also transformed in terms of the
protagonist itself. (Heroes). During the 1600s, the protagonist was not seen as the hero of the play or
poems like shown in William Shakespeare s tragedy, Othello and the epic poem Paradise Lost written
by John Milton. Based on both of these literary selections, the heroes can be demonstrated by the
villains Iago and Satan who in both the play and epic poem transformed the stereotype of the
protagonist always being the hero to be false. As the tragedy play of Othello begins, ... Show more

Iago begins to mislead Rodrigo into believing that Cassio has an affair with Desdemona, and
therefore, manipulates him to aggravate Cassio so he could leave the position Othello has granted him,
while at the same time figuring out how to convince Othello that his wife is cheating on him.
(Database Name). At a certain point Shakespeare guarantees to validate Iago s actions, and for this
reason, the audience can justify that his plan is acceptable because he did not get promoted to be a
lieutenant, which he was worthy of. In this case, the way Iago presents the heroic values among
society today would be by supremacy because although the plan is difficult to proceed he still
managed to show that the ideal leader takes charge no matter the circumstance in that particular

  • 2. What Is The Theme Of USup De Des Un Coup de Des Analysis Extra Credit In english, Un Coup de Des means the throw of the dice. This poem begins with heavy imagery of a ship being tossed around in the sea. However, the meaning is something different, not quite as literal, and the symbolism throughout the poem is what makes this possible. The ship mentioned in the start of the poem could easily be a symbol for just a simple person being thrown into the world with endless opportunities, yet still a big shadow or abyss of the scary unknown is always there to accompany it. The unknown might toss you around like the raging waves of the ocean in a storm crashing high or might make you feel comfortable in a lul between waves not knowing what s to come. The next part of the poem, in the line, the Master, beyond former ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From this portion of the poem it could be argued that it is refering to the time that God was physically on earth, having the whole world at his feet, literally, then later he dies. However, he did not just disappear completely because he is still all around in spirit controlling everything. Next it moves on to speak of a man without a vessel who is empty symbolizing maybe he is empty because he does not know God, who is a vessekl that could save him the perils of the storm. In the portion following, the poem talks about a demon in a way that he may not be a figure as well known as God, but he could be the one responsible for leading the empty men to the dark side as opposed to helping them overcome it, disguising it as his childlike shade . However, the statement the veil of illusion proves that this is nothingmore than an illusion and everything is not as it seems, and this veil will fall and reveal the true evil. The next part of the poem shifts the mood slightly it takes on a lighter feel. It talks about silence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Research Study On Scar Markers SCAR markers are PCR based primers that represent genomic DNA fragments at genetically defined loci, that are identified by PCR amplification using sequence specific oligonuceotide primers (Paran and Michelmore, 1993; Me Dermott et al., 1994). Inception of SCARs involves cloning the amplified products of arbitrary marker techniques and then sequencing the 2 ends of the cloned products. The sequence s therefore used to design specific primer pairs of 15 30 bp which will amplify single major bands of the size similar to that of the cloned fragment. The greater the variation in DNA sequence, the easier it is to generate polymorphic markers. Therefore the plant species used for SCAR development should have sufficient variation for te traits of interest at both the DNA sequence and phenotypic levels. Researchers over the years have employed various non sequence primed PCR markers to develop SCAR markers for the identification of sex in dioecious species of crop plants. Chromosomes and its sex determining genes have driven genetic control of sex determination in dioecious crops. In dioecious crops a vast variability has been seen in the genetically controlled sex determination and a DNA polymorphism has been mainly attributed, that are directly involved in expression of particular sexual phenotpe (Aryal and Ming, 2013). • 4. Socrates Paper PHI 150 3/11/14 Socrates Paper Socrates is believed to be one of the greatest philosophers of all time and he is credited as being the founder of western philosophy. This paper will explain some of his views to the most fundamental questions of today s age. These questions will include topics about morality, the human condition, solution, and death. After Socrates views on these topics are explained, a critique will be done on his answers. I will start out by explaining exactly who Socrates is, and the time that he lived in. To start out, we will first examine Socrates view on morality. There are many questions that could be asked about the topic of morality. It interferes and holds back the soul s search for the truth and causes all bad things in the world. It is not necessarily the physical body itself, as much as it is the desires that it brings with it. With the question of human condition being answered, Socrates now can answer another one of our fundamental questions. This question is Solution. Solution proposes a way to fix what has gone with the world and mankind. In Socrates eyes, the world s greatest problem was the attachment to the human body. He proposes that this can be fixed by detaching oneself from the body. Socrates partially explains this by saying It seems that so long as we are alive, we shall keep as close as possible to knowledge if we avoid as much as we can all contact and association with the body, except when absolutely necessary; and instead of allowing ourselves to become infected with its nature, purify ourselves from it until God himself gives us deliverance. In this way, by keeping ourselves uncontaminated by the follies of the body, we shall probably reach the company of others like ourselves and gain direct knowledge of all that is pure and uncontaminated that is, presumably, of Truth. (Phaedo 67a b). Socrates also talks about the importance of purification of the mind as another solution, which ends up coming back to the separation of the soul from the body. This can be seen when Socrates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Art And Reflection Of The Red Room The rich raspberry red blanketed over the canvas is more than enough to entice it s viewers. The Red Room, made by Henri Matisse in 1908 is and has been a highly popular piece of artwork. The art piece captured what it meant to be a fauvist artist with its bright colors and unrealistic appearance. Matisse and other fauvist artists decided to go against what society decided was normal at the time and succeeded. My recreation of the Red Room uses the same intensity of color, line, shape, form, texture, space, unity, balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, and proportion to represent the greatly valued art piece. The Red Room is an oil on canvas artwork that is exceedingly two dimensional while still showing examples of space. The art portrays a woman setting up a table within a highly saturated red room. The table and the wall paper are almost indistinguishable if it weren t for the thin wobbly line that differentiated them. A blue branch like pattern spans from the bottom of the canvas to the top while staying in the range of the table and wall. Also part of the pattern are vases of flowers that are additionally outlined in black. On the table are various circular fruits, mainly in the color yellow, green, orange, and red. Beside the fruit are long round bottomed vases that are half full of some sort of elixir. The fruit and vases were common to see in Matisse s work during that period, Matisse turned to a motif common in the works created that year: a room decorated with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They believed that with the strength of their own fists, they could win, hence the name Boxers , and thus the Boxer Rebellion was born. Many would argue it is the true number one, primary reason that the Boxer Rebellion occurred in the first place. The spread of Christianity in China at this time was an extremely convincing sing of Western influence. Luella Miner was among the westerners that happened to be in China during the Boxer Rebellion. According to her, their motto was essentially Kill the foreign devils, Kill...Kill...Kill! . This motto would greatly explain the violence and aggression shown by the Boxers during the rebellion. Many Boxers claim to have been primarily annoyed with the Western influence in China at the time. Christianity would have played a key role in demonstrating Western imperialism, which is what would explain the murdering of thousands of Christian missionaries and Chinese Christians living in China at the time. When considered, there are not many things that scream Western culture more than Western religion itself. Opium was only a substance that many Chinese enjoyed abusing and Western ways of ruling were heavily affected by that country s religious beliefs. This is why Christianity would have received the primary amounts of hate from the Boxers. Many Chinese Christians and missionaries were murdered as a result of the Boxer Rebellion. Approximately 32,000 and 200 missionaries were murdered. This figure more clearly can demonstrate the hate towards these Christians, and the effects they were having on the development ... This is evidenced by a weak unproductive cough and by both objective and subjective data. Objective data includes diagnosis of pneumonia, functional decline, and dyspnea. This is a crucial nursing diagnosis as pneumonia is a serious condition that is the eighth leading cause of death in the United States and the number one cause of death from infectious diseases (Lemon, Burke, 2011). Also, to help the patient have normal breath sounds the nurse should turn the patient every two hours for maximal aeration of lung fields and mobilization of secretions. R.M. was able to meet this goal; he had clear lung sounds to auscultation by the end of the shift on 2/12/14. For purchasers, the house price mainly depends on the house price and the interest rate. In the Australian housing market, increases in the house price and interest rate indicated the reasons why housing affordability problems occurred over the past few years. Between 1960 and 2006 real house prices increased at an average of 2.7 percent annually, ahead of a 1.9 percent per annum growth in per household real incomes (Yates, 2008). Therefore, over the past half century, there has been an underlying structural affordability problem in Australia due to house price and household income. Housing demand includes household growth, real incomes, real wealth, tax concessions to both owner occupied and rental housing, concessions to first homebuyers, returns on alternative investments, cost and availability of finance for housing and the institutional structure affecting housing finance provision (Yates, 2008). The growth in the number of households and in real income results in the increased pressure on housing demand. • 24. The Origin Of Aboriginal People The Oxford dictionary defines the stolen generation as: The Aboriginal people forcibly removed from their families as children between the 1900s and the 1960s, to be brought up by white foster families or in institutions. But what the Oxford definition cannot tell us is the horrible impacts of the stolen generation on: the stolen children, their families, the Aboriginal culture and Australia as a Nation. The stolen generation was caused by European Australians belief that Aboriginal people were inferior to them, a belief stemming from the fact that the Aboriginal people had not industrialised and therefore they appeared primitive to European Australians who had industrialised in the 1700s. The European Australians also believed that the Aboriginal people were dying out, due to the catastrophic population decline after the European Australians arrived. This decline in the Aboriginal population was mainly caused by the arrival of the European Australians whom brought diseases that they had no immunity for and caused conflict, (such as the frontier wars) that took the lives of many Aboriginal Australians, causing their population to fall from 700 000 in 1788 to 93000 in 1900. This decline in the Indigenous peoples numbers eventually lead to the creation of policies such as the Aborigines Protection Act of 1909. This and other similar acts in different states gave the members of the Aboriginal Protection Board the power to forcibly remove Aboriginal children from their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What I enjoyed here was the cadence of the words that they used in their lede and how they used their adjectives. Stop Illegal Searches in Schools Regardless of the possibility of students having illicit substances on campus, the 4th Amendment should apply to students because students could have embarrassing items in their bag. If a student was coming in from being off campus, they could have their bag searched by an adult in the school if they suspected they were carrying illegal items. However, if the student had personal items in their backpack and were embarrassed about them in any way, having a person dig through their bag to look for illicit substances that they would most likely not possess in the first place would cause the student mental strain and a possible loss of trust in the adult carrying out the search and others in the school that didn t challenge the validity of the search. In the court case of Safford Unified School District, the administrators of Safford Middle School strip searched a thirteen year old girl. The administrators were informed that she was in the possession of prescription strength ibuprofen and had given some to another student. The school was not provided a specific time or location that this had occurred. They had no evidence besides the word of another student that she possessed the pills, and therefore the search was unreasonable. Chain of Command and Employee Roles A traditional hierarchical structure clearly defines each employee s role within the organisation and demonstrates who that employee works for in that department/area. Furthermore, it defines the nature of their relationship with other employees. Hierarchical organisations are often tall with narrow spans of control, which will always get wider as you move down the structure. They are often centralised with the most important decisions being taken by senior management. Tall Structure Tall structures, like the one above, have many levels of hierarchy. An advantage of this structure is that the span of control is very narrow and long therefore there are many opportunities for promotion. However, a disadvantage of this organisational structure is that lines of communication are long, due to many levels in the chain of command and this may mean that messages get lost or tampered with on their way to the bottom and the firm is unresponsive to change. Another advantage of this structure is that each manager in each level of command has fewer staff or employees to watch over and control. This means that their job is easier as they only have to closely manage a few people and they can keep them on the task at hand. As a result of close management it means that the ... And so in my deliberately turning this around and trying to universalize the female, I tried to challenge myself to look at the world as I wanted to, as a woman artist, realizing the complexities of doing so because the world isn t really that way . Nancy Spero was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1926. Her early development as an artist was highly influenced by the Chicago art scene, the city from which Art Institute she graduated. Chicago s art scene was resistant to the one in New York where Abstract Expressionism was going on at the time while in Chicago figuration remained more important. • 40. Criminal Responsibility In Criminal Behavior Research Criminal responsibility revolves around intent, which is a theme in debate on culpability. The study to be reviewed was led by Williams et al (2010), which found at the age of 16, 46% of offenders interviewed reported TBI. The main cause of the TBI was violence. Reports of more than three TBIs were associated with a greater proportion of violence in criminal offences, suggesting number of TBI is positively correlated with number of aggressive acts. Research in the past similarly indicates individuals who experience traumatic brain injury (TBI) are more likely to commit future criminal acts (Raine et al, 2005). Individuals with TBI affecting the frontal lobes are at an increased risk of impulsive aggression and reduced affective empathy (Brower Price, 2001), characteristics evident in frequent offenders (Jolliffe Farrington, 2004). This suggests an increased risk of criminal behaviour, post TBI, especially when the frontal area is damaged. Thus, can TBI be used to reach the not guilty verdict in court, by reasons of diminished responsibility or can it be argued other premorbid variables at work? Some individuals may see a hero as someone who is known for their good deeds and remarkable super powers like the ones that are shown today in films. As society has progressed throughout the years, the characterization of who a hero is has also transformed in terms of the protagonist itself. (Heroes). During the 1600s, the protagonist was not seen as the hero of the play or poems like shown in William Shakespeare s tragedy, Othello and the epic poem Paradise Lost written by John Milton.
