The Art Of Flamenco Dancing
Mahatma Gandhi once stated that A nations culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people
This holds evident in the European country of Spain. Spain is a country of long time tradition in
which people work hard to continue on with a culture they created long ago. Spain is a very
colorfully cultured country with many famous and important traditions one of which is, the art of
flamencodancing.
Flamenco, a beguiling mix of guitar, song and dance forged by the ancient AndalucГa Gypsies. Its
theme of joy and sorrow appears to be an expression of the Gypsy way of life. Flamenco is very
evoking to gypsies. It brings out the spirit that comes from inside, a mysterious power that
everyone feels but no one can explain. Flamenco fuels a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this time Franco took the same ideas of French romantics and turned it into a money maker. He
used the image of romance that goes hand in hand with Flamenco dancing and turned it in to the
perfect tourist post card. This created a very stereotypical image that attracts tourist yet today.
To find reality behind Flamencos post card image you could look towards Granada. Here you
would find the sense of Flamencos ancient roots. In Granada you would find Gypsies. For many
centuries Gypsies lived in caves cut out of the soft hillside of Sacromonte. There are two types of
gypsies. Gypsy s from the north and gypsies from the South. Those in the south came with dancing
styles influenced by other countries. These influences came through Iran, Iraq, Greece and Turkey
and they worked their way into southern Spain. The Gypsies arrived in AndalucГa in the 15th
century during the Christian reconquest of Spain. They brought with them strong Indian
connections within their song and dance. (messynessy, 2014) This was the time of Ferdinand and
Isabella, Catholic Monarchs that were determined to remove Muslims and Jews and the gypsies
where caught up in the persecution. There were very strict laws, gypsies where forbidden to
speak in their own Romany language which was different from Castilian. They were forbidden to
wear their dresses and socialize in group settings of their own. They were also ordered to stop their

Dna Evidence Of A Dna Unit Within A Crime Lab
Today in the crime world, DNA evidence is strongly accepted in solving crime cases. This is all
based in part by allowing a crime laboratory to have a designated unit whose main goal is to
analyze DNA evidence to aid investigators with positive outcomes in crime case solving. With that
being said we are going to discuss the functions of a DNAunit within a crime lab as well as address
the vital role these units play in solving crime.
Let s start by defining what in fact is DNA analysis. According to the FBI s crime lab, the DNA
analysis process can take place when bodily fluid stains and other biological tissues are found on
physical evidence collected from a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The DNA
testing results obtained from evidence samples are compared to DNA from reference samples
collected from known individuals. Such analyses may be able to associate victims and suspects
with each other, with evidence items, or with a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The
FBI and other national crime labs can conduct nuclear, Y chromosome, and or mitochondrial DNA
testing depending on the technology and funds appropriated to the unit. Smaller fielded units would
probably not be able to do some testing which would result in them forwarding evidence or using
other assets with greater capabilities.
DNA is the genetic material that makes up the characteristics of all living organisms. While all
human DNA is very similar in nature, there is just enough differences in

Similarities And Differences Between Small Town And Small...
In every country, the land is divided into sections of towns and cities. These towns and cities are
homes to people who have looked upon their preferences to decide where to locate their homes.
Individuals take into account the advantages and disadvantages of both locations as well as the
opportunities presented. Hence, there are several similarities and differences between big cities and
small towns.
To begin, a significant difference between big cities and small towns is the cost of living. The cost
of living in a big city is much higher than that of a small town due to the increase of population and
demand. In the city, landlords tend to increase rate prices of living spaces depending on the
demand for the space and the number of applicants. Also, the price of food and clothing from
stores is much more costly because it is located in a busy city. The owners of these businesses do
this because of the high demand, but limited supply of both space and items. However, towns
have a lower population level than cities and the cost of living spaces or items is not as expensive
as the latter. The cost of living in towns is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though cities and towns are places that are being modernized and turned into more concrete
than grass there are still places reserved for outdoor activities like parks and lakes. In both of
these locations, people can visit their local park and have picnics or play sports. These outdoor
areas are places that people can visit to spend time with friends and family. In smalls towns and
big cities people can even visit stands that are placed outside for people to buy a variety of items
like food or souvenirs. Towns and cities have these outdoor activity areas so that events can be
held like fairs and annual festivals. The outdoor spaces are an important part of towns and cities
because it encourages people to become involved in the

Primary Sources In O Brien s The Things They Carried
According to the Library of Illinois, primary sources of information are those that provide first
hand accounts of the events, practices, or conditions you are researching. There is no portion about
reliability or the significance of truth within the explanation of a primary historical source. O Brien
s recollection of his first hand experience in the Vietnamwar is a good primary source because
highlights the collective consciousness of America during the war, the collective memory of the
soldiers who fought, and the emotional things they had to carry with them through the remainder of
their lives.
O Brien fought in the war and named his fictional character after himself. It is the truth of his real
life juxtaposed to the truth in his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In any war story, but especially a true one, it s difficult to separate what happened from what
seemed to happen....The angles of vision are skewed (71). What O Brien thought seemed to have
happened therefore becomes his truth.
All primary sources are subjective; they are based on the source s recollection and how it is
remembered in their own memory. The importance of storytelling is one of the main premises in
the Things They Carried. Telling a story is an illustration of memory, and memory is prejudice.
By telling stories, you objectify your own experience. You separate it from yourself. You pin down
certain truths (158). Each soldier is going to have different memories, but most of their experiences
are so similar they seem to form a universal truth and a collective memory of all their stories.
O Brien s unification of fact and fiction is to illustrate the idea in which the real accuracy of a war
story is less significant than storytelling. The subjective truth about what the war meant and what it
did to change the soldiers is more meaningful than the technical details of the

The Ethics Of Executions Should Be Legal
The Ethics of Executions Over the past 10 years, more death row inmates have preferred execution
to facing seemingly endless years of appeals, states an ABC News article (Robinson). With the ever
increasing number of executions, the controversial debate over the legality of capital punishment
creates a divide within the population. A wedge that separates the people who support capital
punishmentis one complicated question: what role should a doctor play in executions? Doctors
should be advocates for their patients no matter what the circumstances. Despite the infraction of
American Medical Association (AMA) policy, it is important for a licensed medical
professional with the correct knowledge and experience to monitor the execution. While a doctor
should be on the scene in case of emergency, they should not play an active role in executions as
is the policy in Texas and other states. The first thing to remember is that all doctors must adhere
to the Hippocratic Oath which requires them to do no harm to their patients. However, the bounds
of this oath are widely debated on cases that span Do Not Resuscitate directives, physician assisted
suicide, executions, and anything that results in the death of a patient. In the case of executions,
AMA policy states that it is unethical for doctors to be involved except in a peripheral way
(Tanner). The AMA s stance prohibits doctors from supervising or contributing in any way even if
it is to help ease the inmate s pain

The Obesity Epidemic in the United States
The United States of America is known for having a high obesity level. According to David
Frum from CNN, except for Mexicans, American citizens are more likely to become obese than
any other nationality. Some obese countries have enforced an extra high tax on fast foods and
other high calorie foods, and many people believe that the U.S. should adopt the fat tax as well.
According to Dictionary.com, the fat tax is a tax imposed on or proposed for high fat or
otherwise unhealthy foodstuffs . Although a tax on junk food could reduce obesity, the low
prices could protect low income families from going broke, and therefore a tax on junk food
would not be beneficial to America. One of the main groups that would be negatively affected
by a fat tax are the diabetics. Those who fight hypoglycemia occasionally need candy or soda to
raise their blood sugar levels. Why should diabetics have to pay more for something that could
potentially save their lives? They already have to pay extremely high costs for their insulin to
keep their glucose levels from reaching too high. At Diabetic Care Services and Pharmacy, a
box of five Humalog pen Kwikpens cost $339.29, which is extremely expensive, especially if the
buyer does not have health insurance. The cost of living is very high for someone with diabetes
and they might have very little money left out of each paycheck, after taxes and medical bills, for
groceries. Calorie for calorie, junk foods not only cost less than fruits and

The Tragedy Of A Lifetime
The Tragedy of a Lifetime As of today, Karen Diamond s memory is shot. Like a burning pile of
pictures, her memories have dissipated. The fire being put out only in time to save a minute
amount. The forty three year old only seems to remember the necessities with very few
exceptions. The tragedy of April 20th,1999 just happens to be one of them. She recounts that very
day, a far off look in her eye. Sitting on our couch, she stares at the television, but that s all she s
doing, staring. Not watching. Instead, she relives that day inside her mind, becoming oblivious to
all the things around her. Just like any other normal day, Karen mosied around the house. She

Come here! You are going to want to see this! Indeed, she did want to see it. There on the
television was a live picture of a school. There had been a shooting. The headline shown across
the top. A school in Littleton, Colorado was under attack ( Massacre at Columbine High
(Special Report) ). Multiple versions of the story were told, yet only one rang true. Two senior
students had fired guns and detonated explosives at the school (Gimpel 7). The massacre started
early on the morning of April 20th (Gerdes 4). The gunmen, Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold,
17, had skipped the first three hours of the school day ( Student Gunmen Terrorize Colorado
High School; Two Students Kill 13, Themselves; Other Developments. )(Gerdes 166). Harris
pulled up to the school a few minutes after third period and started to prepare himself along with
Klebold for what they were about to do (Gerdes 167). In less than an hour, they detonated thirty
hand made bombs, shot and killed twelve students and a teacher, and injured twenty three others
(Gerdes 14). At the time, this shooting had been worst school massacre in the history of the
United States of America (Gimpel 8). In the eyes of many, not only the students of Columbine

German Stereotypes In WWII Films
German Stereotypes carried on by WWII films Cold, Nazi, heavy accent. Those are some of the
common stereotypes of German in typical everyday life. These stereotypes are not the truth about
Germans and Germany as all other stereotypes aren t the truth or the only truth. The strangest thing
about the typical German stereotypesis that all of the common ones can be traced to WWI, WWII
or are revivals of actions of those times through war films or stories. The definition of a stereotype
from Google is: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of
person or thing (Definition). This definition makes it very simple for us to see how stereotypes can

This is also due with most movies in that they often play along with a trope or stereotype to try a
compact or make a character more relatable or identifiable. War films since they became pretty
popular in world war times, due to the necessary need to get people in support the war and
supports the troops so most use the common stereotypes and I would also argue made them more
popular. When you have a formula you can follow in a script which will lead to your audience
being able to easily identify the bad guy, it makes it easier for a film to be successful. So for
example in the Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark film you have the typical German
stereotype with the Nazi team searching for the Ark of the Covenant to make Hitler s army
invincible. That idea of cold heartless team of people only working towards helping Hitler and
the war is something that many people of the time wouldn t have a hard time identifying as bad.
Raiders of the Lost Ark doesn t quite fit in the war film genre but still has the same use of
stereotypes to create the big evil for the

Introduction to Healthcare
Introduction to Healthcare
This essay will identify and examine the factors that have, and continue to, influence health care
policy and practices within the ever changing health service. It will particularly concentrate on the
changes in the National Health Service (NHS) within the last decade and the impact that this has
had on the Operating Department Practitioner profession.
The National Health Service (NHS) was launched on 5th July 1948 by Aneurin Bevan, the then
Minister of Health. Its 3 core principles were to meet the needs of everyone, to be free at the point
of delivery and be based upon clinical need and not the ability to pay. The services were to be
predominantly funded from general taxation. (NHS, 2011). The Porritt Report ... Show more content

This gave them sole responsibility for purchasing healthcare for their service users. Institutional
care was to be abolished with the introduction of community care. The Patients Charter (Great
Britain. Department of Health, 1991) focused on the service user being the consumer. It
introduced their rights and expectations and defined the standards of service they could expect.
This was subsequently updated in the Updated Patient Charter (Great Britain. Department of
Health, 1995) which included more specific standards. In July 1998 the strategy for reorganising
and modernising the NHS A First Class Service Quality in the New NHS (Great Britain.
Department of Health, 1998) was published. Its aim was to modernise the NHS ensuring delivery
of high quality services for all. Quality was to be maintained by setting standards through National
Service Frameworks and the forming of National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). These
standards were to be monitored by the creation of the Commission for Health Improvement. This
was to be an independent statutory body which could scrutinise quality improvements at a local
level and address any serious issues identified. Spot checks can be carried out and clinical quality
information is made public. Additionally there was also the introduction of an annual national
survey of patient and user experience of the NHS. It stated that quality of service should not be
dependent on geographic location

A Person s Heart Rate Monitoring Essay
A person s heart rate provides a lot of information about their health. However, the heart rate
monitors that are used to find the heart rate can be very expensive. Cardiologists at the Wexner
Medical Center are interested in a new heart rate monitor that is more cost effective for use in third
world countries. A prototype of the new heart ratemonitor was given to FEH students to conduct an
experiment. The purpose of this experiment was to tough roughly test the prototype and analysis
the differences between different stages of data collection.
Section 2, the Experimental Methodology, provides a description of how the prototype was tested.
It discusses the materials and the procedure used to test the sensor. Section 3, Results and
Description, provides the results produced from the tests of the prototype and . Section 4 discusses
the significance of these results and faults in the experiment. Finally, section 5 provides a summary
and conclusion of the experiment and discuss ways to improve the experiment.

Potassium ( K + ) Channels
Potassium (K+) channels are ubiquitous throughout biological systems as they are found in many
different cell types including prokaryotes, eukaryotes and archaea. (However, for the scope of
this exam, the examples will be limited to K+ channels found in neurons.) They are tetrameric
integral membrane proteins that assemble to form transmembrane aqueous pores. Their basic
function is to allow the passive flow of potassium ions down an electrochemical gradient rapidly
and with high specificity. The high specificity of these channels is crucial in excitable cells such
as neurons as they are able to exclude sodium ions (Na+) despite the sub angstrom difference
between ionic radii, which allows for the establishment of ion gradients as well as a delayed flow
between sodium and potassium ions to shape action potentials. This specificity also allows the
channels to establish and maintain the resting potentialin many cells.
All potassium channels have a distinctive, universal feature of two transmembrane (TM) helices
and a short loop ( P loop ) between them that lines the top of the pore and is responsible for
potassium selectivity. This canonical feature is referred to as 2TM/P. In terms of membrane
topology, there are two broad classes of K+ channels: 1) the two transmembrane helix (2TM/P)
subunit, typical of the inward rectifying (KIR) channels and, 2) the 6 transmembrane helix (6TM/P)
subunit, typical of voltage gated (KV ) subtypes. It must be noted that the 6TM/P

little corporations turned into a millionaire company. The time of one of the most dynamic,
contentious, and volatile periods in American history happened. National wealth increased
dramatically but their was a problem for the poor and the farmers of the U.S. People may say that
the Gilded Agewas the era of corruption, harsh labor and brutal industrial competition, but others
think that the Gilded Age is the time that the U.S. exploded industrially and that was the moment
that the U.S became one of the superpowers of the world. The Gilded Age was a new era of

All the resources that were made or digged up could ve been sold to other countries but the U.S
mainly focused on making what they needed to improve on. For example, all the iron and steel
that the U.S made was used to improve the railroads for better and safer transportation, and the
production of iron and steel was just easier to make and a big number of iron and steel was made
in a smaller amount of time. This is one of many examples about the products that the U.S used
from their own territory. In the section titled Causes of Industrial Expansion, Lapsansky Werner
discusses about the geography of the U.S stating, first, the nation s physical geography provided
an abundance of natural resources including lumber, coal, and oil that manufacturers relied on to
power their factories and lubricate their machines. (Lapsansky Werner 67). The resources that
the captains of industry had gotten to use for factories or to make more products to sell was all
from U.S soil. The U.S never had to invade a country for a natural resource like today, where the
U.S has had multiple wars with different countries for oil. Most resources were relied on to power
the factories and to make new products to sell.
Another good example that helped the U.S to industrialize rapidly was new technologies. It was
also considered the The Age of Great Invention. So many new things

planning functions of management while looking at the Boeing Company. While looking at the

With the company being in the public eye at all times the planners must determine where, when,
and how the product will be used before they begin building, testing, and using the new
technologies. Since Boeing has become such a large company it has had to continuously
evaluating the way it does things to make sure that they are doing the right thing. Boeing also
has a legal responsibility to the military, government, and commercial markets to provide the
newest technology available and get the approval from the United States government before
they produce any military technologies for the foreign government/powers. When Boeing deals
with the military they are required and mandated to keep some equipment specifications
classified so that they do not fall into the wrong hands. If this security is breached Boeing would
be held responsible and this could be detrimental to our homeland security and military. Boeing
also has a social responsibility to provide jobs to their employees and community. Boeing rightly
insists that they cannot be expected to provide jobs for the life in a fast changing, global market.
But what they can and should offer employees, is a tool kit of portable skills, a high level of
training that allows displaced workers to land new jobs (McMurdy, 1996 par.8). In some ways
Boeing believes by providing the jobs to the community it places them in an advantage where

How The Grinch Stole Christmas Essay
I have chosen to look at How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss from a Marxist
perspective. The Marxist school of criticism focuses on the clash between the dominant class and
the lower class. This poem is about the Grinch, who is very different from everyone else in his
society, making him an outcast that nobody wants to be around. The Grinch is the embodiment of
the lower class because he does not get to make important decisions and he lives in isolation. The
Whos are the complete opposite of the Grinch, as they represent the dominant class and they get to
live together in their tight knit society without any worries. The Grinch wanted to destroy
Christmas because nobody gave him a present, as they all viewed him as evil and as detrimental...

Furthermore, this is an example of the lower class trying to overcompensate by trying to
overthrow and cause chaos to the dominant class. The people of that era were very adamant to
accept people who were different from them because they wanted everyone to be the same and
follow the same rules. The Grinch did not want to follow the rules and so he broke away from
the town, to live somewhere where his voice was heard. Once the Grinch stole all of the
presents, stocking and trees, he realized that the real value was not in the presents, but in the
people celebrating together. This caused him to look past his hate and break the class system, by
joining in with the Whos. As a result, he was no longer separated in a separate class, as he
transitioned into the dominant class. I believe that this poem does not fully reflect the economic
division or even the class division, as it is a children s poem which mostly focuses on the message,
instead of specific details. Although, we can infer that the Grinch was in a different class system,
due to his attitude towards the other people of the village and his feeling of resentment and

Semi-Structured Interview Essay
Interviews are conversations which will take place between the researcher and interviewee, with
the researcher being the one who asks the questions for the interviewee to answer (Lambert, 2012,
p104). For my small scale project, I have decided that I will carry out semi structured interviews
with those who work in the education sector of the Castle Museum to find out what they do and
how they promote children s learning.
I think a semi structured interview will be good for my own research project as I will have a set
structure of questions that I would like to discuss. This will include all of the most important
points that I would like to cover, to ensure I do not miss them out. There will also be space to

This style of interview will allow room to cover issues in depth if needed, and will give me the
opportunity to probe into certain issues that I would like to know more information about. Probing
is a tool used for ensuring reliability of the data, as it enables the interviewer to clarify with the
respondent any words or phrases that they may not fully understand (Barriball and While ,1994,
p331). Semi structured interviews gives the interviewer the chance to be flexible in what they want
to ask their participant by not having to follow any specific order.
Lambert argues that there are disadvantages to using semi structured interview, as the interviewee
may go onto another topic without realizing, resulting to this style of interview being hard to keep
on track (2012, p105). As well as this, as semi structured interview allows freedom for further
questions, this could result to important questions being missed due to running out of

Problems In English Oral Communication
English oral communicative ability According to Byrne (1986), oral communication is the process
between speakers and listeners. The speakers use their productive skill to change their thought into
appropriate language, and then the listeners use receptive skill to interpret the message from the
speakers. In English communication, the speakers need communicative competence which is the
ability of using or interpreting languages in appropriate way during the conversation. In other word,
the speakers need to know the purpose of their speaking and they have to use the right language to
talk with the right person (Hymes, 1981). According to Common European Framework (2001), the
communicative competence consists of three elements including linguistic competence,

Inhibition The first problem in English speaking is inhibition. Many students are often inhibited
when they try to speak English. According to Littlewood (2007), foreign language classroom can
cause inhibition and anxiety easily. The students are often worried about making mistakes, fearful
of criticism or embarrassment. 2. Lack of topical knowledge Rivers (1968) believes that sometimes
the students cannot express themselves because the teachers push them to speak in the topic that is
not suitable for them. They might have no idea how to use the grammar correctly, which
vocabulary to use, or what to say about the topic that teacher asks them to answer. 3. Low
participation In a large class, there is not enough time for every student to speak. Some students
hardly or never participate in any oral practice because there are too many students in the class.
They can only listen what the others say, but do not have an opportunity to express themselves. 4.

Sir Thomas Malory s Nobility Essay
Nobility in the medieval time shad unquestionable value attached to it. Majority of the nobles lived
their lives in luxury and were rich beyond the common man s wildest dreams. The thought of the
medieval knights often brings nobility in mind, hence the question whether knights had to emanate
from the noble class. Exemplary works by Sir Thomas Malory (1408 1471) recount the marvelous
adventures of chivalrous, heroic knights of super human ability. The knights, abiding by the
chivalry s strict codes of honor and demeanor went on quests to fight and defeat monsters and
giants, thereby winning favor with a lady. Chivalry simply means having the skills to handle a
horse. This ability, especially in combat, was of utmost importance to a medieval knight. This term
began to take on new meanings, especially during the first crusade (1095 AD) when
Christianization of knights began in earnest. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sir Kay illustrates this at the start of this tale, where he chastises Beaumains (Sir Gareth) by
saying were he of noble birth he would have asked for a horse and armor. No! He is nothing but a
great loafer born of serving wench. Thus, by disregarding Beaumains potential, Sir Kay clarifies his
position on knighthood. Through his statement, Sir Kay effectively equates knighthood with nobility
from birth. As such Sir Kay doubts Beaumains to the extent of challenging him to combat.
Subsequently, Beaumains swiftly defeats Sir Kay even though unarmed with neither a spear nor
a shield. Beaumains there after give sout Sir Kay s symbol of knighthood (his horse) to his dwarf
implying that the dwarf would have become a better knight than Sir Kay. These developments
reduced Sir Kay to a lowly, laughable knight of little significance. Sir Kay is demeaned in this
manner and as such Malory effectively shows that Sir Kay is wrong on the noble and essential
qualities a

A Summary Of Joseph Campbell And The Monomyth

The Death Of Ivan Ilyich By Leo Tolstoy
To make a good story it should start with an essential list of components. The opening situation,
conflict, complication, climax, suspense, denouement, and then conclusion. Good authors and
writers sometimes mix up these ingredients and add some spice. This is very much the case in The
Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy
Opening Situation
Ivan Ilych s death notification in the Gazette and funeral then told the story of Ivan s life.
The main theme of the story is Ivan s Ilynch s battle with an illness and then his death, and with
this Leo Tolstoy setups up the story. Tolstoy reveals to us Ivan s entire life story up to the point
when he becomes sick. We become acquainted with Ivan s, desires and habits, his friends and
family, and his situation. The beginning chapter even though it theoretically happens after he
has already passed away also aids the setup. It provides us a more telling picture of what the people
in Ivan s social circle are like. We also get a better sense of what Ivan himself was like before he
became ill, recognizing Peter Ivanovich and his friends are similar to how Ivan used to be.
Complication
The doctors procedures didn t work. He s becoming worried that his condition might has been
getting worse since the beginning, but it takes a bit of time for it to hit him that he might just die.
This takes place in a powerful moment of realization, when Ivan stops thinking of his illness in
medical way and starts thinking about it in terms of

Ridgway Argumentative Essay
It takes a lot to rip apart a town. It takes a lot to ravage a community, particularly one as tightly
knit as Ridgway, Pennsylvania. Nestled snugly at the southeastern edge of Allegheny National
Forest, Ridgway s population has dipped to just below four thousand in recent years, though in
its 191 years of settlement, it s never once been called home by more than roughly six thousand
people at once. Its proximity to the forest attracts huntsmen and hikers alike, but unless one were
actively looking for the town the square mileage of which comes in at just over two and a half

Essay on Late Adulthood
The Bucket List
Movie Review
Rhea F. Dahilig
PSYCH 320
4/15/2010
FOREWORD
The journey through late adulthood can be experienced in different ways. One particular movie
entitled The Bucket List exhibits an astounding portrayal of late adulthood. In fact, there are many
accounts that the movie entails about late adulthood. This includes the illustration of Erickson s
late adulthood stage Ego Integrity vs. Despair, wisdom, marriage, friendship, parent child
relationship, and death and dying in late adulthood.
Having given less than a year to live because of cancer, the two characters Edward Cole and
Carter Chambers seem to deal with despair rather than integrity, a stage Erickson depicts for late
adulthood based on his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe both characters are wise in their own way. Edward is wise in the business world, where
he states that Presidents have asked for his advice and have dined with royalties all due to his
well renowened wisdom in that category being that he s been around that business since the age
of 16. Carter, especially, is wise in life lessons. He mentioned numerous words of wisdom
throughout the movie and amongst them, my favorite was, I believe that you measure yourself
by the people who measure themselves by you. For me though, one does not have to be in the
late adulthood stage to be wise. I believe that, we, as humans, already have an innate ability of
wisdom and is only strengthened through time and experiences that we acquire along the way.
Another highlight obtained in the movie is the depiction of married couples in late adulthood. It
seems to me that I have to agree with the statement that married couples in their late adulthoods
are more satisfied than middle aged couples because, with time they are bounded with
commitment and respect; overcoming the hurdles in life together longer, growing stronger from
it each time. For Carter, he appears to be happily married with his wife, Virginia, because of the
effort, support, concern and commitment that Virginia shows to care for Carter in his times of
need and I am sure Carter would do the same if Virginia was in his place. Hence, Carter s view of
marriage with respect, loyalty and faithfulness, in which he practiced

Nelson Mandela was a very important part in the success of African Americans gaining their own
rights. I believe if it wasn t for him there still could be segregation in South Africa. He risked his

Nelson grew up farming, herding cattle, and attending a christian elementary school while being
apart of an african tribe (Nelson Mandela 1). Mandela grew up around tribal chiefs and elders,
that helped him understand african self government and heritage better (Tyle 1). Nelsons tribe
name was Rolihlahla but was changed to Nelson by a teacher at the school he attended (Nelson
Mandela 1). Rolihlahla translates to one who brings trouble upon himself, which describes the
journey through fighting for his rights his whole life (Nelson Mandela 1). When Nelson grew
older he renounced his hereditary right to the tribal chiefdom and he entered college hoping to
graduate with a law degree. He attended the University college of Fort Hare which he was
expelled from in 1940 for leading a student strike and Witwatersrand University. He graduated
and received his law degree in 1942 from the University of South Africa (Nelson Mandela 1).
Nelson married Evelyn Ntoko Mase in 1944 and had four children which were Thembekile,

of them alive today and there is two of the children with the same name because the first one died

in a car accident at a relatively young age and Makgatho died at the age of 54 from AIDS (Nelson

Economic Impact of Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering (GE) is a recently developed technology that allows the alteration of the
genetic make up of living organisms. This technology allows scientists not only to exchange genes
from members of the same species, which is what farmers and nature has been doing through out
history, but also the exchange of genes between completely separate species. For example genetic
engendering allows scientists to insert the genes from a fish into a tomato, something that can never
happen in nature. Many in the biotechnology industry claim that the recent advancements in this
field of research will help solve many of the problems developing countries face. These claims have
led to a massive increase in commercial growing of genetically... Show more content on

The costs of GE seeds are too high for farmers from developing countries to implement their
usage. The costs of implementing this technology will not be offset by the benefits that farmers in
the US have received. Not only will farmers lose money, but unemployment, which is already a
problem in many developing nations, will increase, as farmers need to hire less labor to produce
the same amount of crops.
The high initial cost of purchasing GE seeds makes the technology more difficult to implement by
poor farmers in less developed countries. As happened during the green revolution these small
farmers would be forced to take out loans to buy this new technology, and if the technology does
not deliver higher profits these farmers may lose their land.
Even if a technology was developed that would bring the cost of production down to or below that
of existing production cost, there is the issue of consumer preference. The increasing debate over
genetic engineering has created a substantial difference in perception of the risks and benefits
involved with GE food. Governments around the world, most notably members of the European
Union have places restrictions and bans on many GMO products. Many of these countries are
considering putting labels on products with GMO ingredients. Considering that many developing
countries economies are highly dependant on agricultural export,

The Beliefs Of Society In Chinua Achebe s Things Fall Apart
In the novel, Things Fall Apart, the author Chinua Achebe details the life of the protagonist,
Okonkwo, and through him the rituals and customs of the Ibo people. The practices of the Ibo
people are highly religious and taken very seriously throughout the whole clan. The religious
guidance of a select few spiritual figures dictates the lives of the entire population. Traditions
have deep religious connotations and have been passed down from the tribal ancestors who
started the customs. These ways prompt many problems for Okonkwo and others surrounding
him. Chapter 13 displays the disapproval some clansmen have with how situations are handled
in the society and is ultimately setting up the scene for why some Ibo decide to convert to
Christianity. The Ibo have an arbitrary set of rules, and this unchanging set of conventions is the
source of flaws in their society. Society should change to encompass the evolving thought styles
of its members. It s the right and duty of the people to engender change in a system that they
believe is flawed. In Chapter 13, Obierika ponders the way society reacts to Okonkwo s mishap,
Why should a man suffer so grievously for an offense he had committed inadvertently? Although
he thought for a long time he found no answer (Achebe 106). Many Ibo don t view what
Okonkwo did as a truly evil and punishable act. If they did, they would have stayed away from him
and let him suffer the punishment. However, friends went to help Okonkwo prepare to leave

1.In general, how did C C s first organizational structure contribute to the store managers

C C Grocery s initial organizational structure operated under a vertical linkage. Vertical linkage is
utilized to coordinate activities between the top and bottom of an organization and are designed
primarily for control of the organization (Daft,2013) Store managers were responsible for the
grocery line, front end department and general store operations but had little knowledge about

The store manager asked the produce and meat managers to display some of the cola but was
denied any help by the produce manager as he claimed this did not help his sales and he did not

to include the store as a team. Another factor that contributed to poor cooperation was failing to
provide these managers with opportunities to learn skills for promotions, which lead to resentment
and poor morale. Departments were unable to effectively work together and build strategies as team
but instead were working towards their own agenda. The serve the customer mentality created by
Doug Cummins no longer existed in the stores.
4. How would the proposed reorganization address the problems addressed in each question above?
Under the new proposed restructuring, the meat, grocery and produce departments would all be
under the store manager. This helps improve the frustration the store managers had with the lack of
authority with the meat and produce department managers. Store managers can work more closely
with the department managers to learn what their department goals and issues are to work on
combined strategies that benefit their store. By continuing to work as team towards common goals,
more trust will be formed and the store will operate more efficiently. This allows the district

Robert Zieger s For Jobs And Freedom
Robert Zieger s For Jobs and Freedom Race and Labor In America Since 1865 is laid out as a
scholarly historical look at how race has effected freedom and the labor market for blacks in
America since the late 19th century. While Zieger presents the material in a scholarly manner
and is careful to look at issues from more than one paradigm; I feel that his voice is often lost in
this careful presentation of both sides of the coin. Aside from obviously being pro union Robert
Zieger only takes a personal stand a once in his book For Jobs and Freedom; the onetime Zieger
s voice is heard he speaks in opposition to the Accomodationists ideals of Booker T and Villard
who urged young blacks to accept their station and apply themselves diligently to become the best
farmer, domestic servant, or ditch digger that they could possibly be. Another critic of the book
raised in class by Professor Bloom was that Zieger only focuses on one form of racism, white
supremacy. In my paper I will briefly discuss some of the social and economic changes that
forced the rearticulation of the relationship between black workers and white capital near the turn
of the century. I will also highlight Zieger s argument that organized labor near the turn of the
century failed black workers with their actions while maintaining a rhetoric of egalitarian
principles towards black workers. Zieger s practical agenda is to shine a light on racism and help
facilitate its end by educating through a lens of

Description of Product or Service Several schools offer open enrollment distance learning
certificate programs targeted to working professionals that don t have time for lengthy
residencies. The coursework can be challenging. However, a certificate from a school can make
your resume stand out from the crowd. Graduate certificates are growing in popularity. For
college grads that want to gain skills or a resume boost, a certificate can be an easy way to meet
goals without enrolling in a full graduate program. Consider the certificates now offered at several
universities. Students that already have Master s degrees can earn graduate certificates by taking
less than ten additional online courses. Certificate programs include specializations in Business and
Technology Management, Education, and Psychology (Arabe, 2003). Most online students use
course management systems such as Blackboard to master the material. Some learn by streaming
audio or video lectures. But, universities are offering courses that are taking online studies to the
next level. According to a recent article by the New York Times, an increasing number of online
courses are holding sessions in Second Life, a virtual world that mimics real life. Students and
teachers have avatars that look like real people. They can hold discussions, interact, and display

Technological Advancements Brought on by World War II Essay
One of the most recognized technologic advancements in plans during world war one and two
waqs the blitzberg plan. The World War Two era was a time of change. There were many
technological advancements during this time. These advances can be categorized into three
categories. They are weapon advances, vehicle advances, and strategic advances. This
technology would change the face of war forever. The first category, weapon advances, is a very
important category. Leading up to the war, weapons were changing constantly. Weapons of World
War One were out of date. They were becoming more accurate, and capable of longer ranges. In
World War One, the average soldier carried a bolt action rifle. Bolt action rifles are accurate;...

The second group of advances is vehicle advances. This category can be broken down into a few
sub categories. They are ground vehicles, ships, and aircraft. This category of technology was
one of the most important influences of the war. First, we will discuss ground vehicle advances.
The Jeep was invented in World War Two. It was used as basic transportation for troops. After the
war, the Jeep became more popular and was then used as a production vehicle for the public.
Tanks of World War One were very primitive and very ineffective. In World War Two, the tank
was
one of the most important vehicles used. Leading up to World War Two, tanks were made more
powerful, faster, lighter, and stronger. Tank warfare was very important in World War Two. All
countries involved in the war were producing their own models of tanks. By the end of the war,
the Allies had developed a new kind of tank. It had no big guns on it. It was a troop transportation
vehicle that was heavily armored. Transportation vehicles were very important in the war. Without
transportation, there is no efficient way to move troops. All of these vehicles were very important
in the history of war.
The next group of vehicles is the ships. Naval technology was very primitive prior to this time.

The Pros And Cons Of DC Comics And DC Comics
In 1934 a man named Malcolm Wheeler Nicholson created a comic book company named,
Detective Comics and shortly after this renamed the company to, DC comics DC comics when
on to create iconic characters like, Batman, Superman, The Flash, and many more which are still
notable to this day. Shortly after this in the in the Year 1939 a man named Martin Goodman
started his own comic book company as well. He named it, Marvel comics you may recognize
the name from the name from the multimillion dollar films they make based on Marvel s comic
book. It has been nearly ninety years since the both these comic book industries were founded and
both companies have a multitude of, tv shows, films, and video games based off of the stories and
characters in their comics. Personally I believe that both companies have had their fair share of
both success and failure. But any time there is two rivaling companies like these there will always
be hardcore fans who say one is better than the other. One of the biggest arguments throughout the
comic book fan based community is to determine which company between DC comicsMarvel
comics has the best tv shows, films, and video games. There are some people who believe DC
comics is the one with the best, tv shows, films, and videos and there is those who would disagree
and say Marvel is the supreme company. In this negotiation essay I will discuss both the positives
and the negatives, of boths side s, tv shows, films, and video games.

Play, Recreation, And Sport In The Colonial Era
The concepts of play, leisure, recreation, and sport are often used interchangeably in conversation,
however, each concept has a different meaning, and a different role, in both individual lives and
society as a whole. After defining, comparing, and contrasting each concept, it is clear just how
much they differ from each other. Not only is it important to understand the similarities and
differences of each concept, but it s also important to know that historical factors represent a huge
part of what we know play, leisure, recreation, and sport to be today. The Colonial Era has been just
one of the many historical factors that has been influential in the development of these terms,
specially in the development of recreation and leisure. Along with definitions of the concepts and
the role of historical factors, to know the true meaning of play, leisure,... Show more content on

Often limited to children only, in today s society play can be associated with adults as well.
Play cannot be easily defined, but could be described by activity or behavior desired by an
individual for pleasure (Henderson, 2010, p. 32). Often seen in leisure activity, it also has the
ability to allow someone to express themselves in a passionate, energetic, imaginary way,
whether the play is done in a systematic or an unsystematic manner, with no tangible goal or
reward expected (Henderson, 2010, p. 9 p. 33). Play differs from leisure, recreation, and sport
significantly in the fact that play refers to behavior rather than the activity itself (Henderson,
2010, p. 45); however, it could be seen by some as an essential part of life that enables an
individual to deal with internal conflict, socialize with others, and grants them the ability to
function properly in our everyday life. Leisure is vital to an individual s quality of life (Henderson,
2010, p.

Servant Evangelism Research Paper
The dirty work of evangelism in regards to my conversion is not really applicable since I was
brought up in church and saved at the age of seven. I am sure there were things that went along
with the work of evangelism in my life that I am unaware of. The discipline of servant evangelism
is a critical need that has been neglected for years. Some churches have started doing it but most
still want to hold to the historical ways of outreach that do not seem to work. Servant evangelism
teaches that one must be willing, just as Jesuswas, to get their hands dirty in order to see the lost
saved. According to Will McRaney personal evangelism involves the effective communication of
the essential gospel message with the view of seeing people supernaturally become followers and
imitators of Christ. How is one to truly and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is this testimony of faith in Christ that helps break down the barrier that stands in between the
believer and unbeliever so often. As we have heard in our lectures, the way Jesus did evangelism
was modeled in the way he lived. Jesus was intentional about his witness as should be the
believer. He looked for opportunities to show his love. The believer needs to adapt this into
their daily life in order to help clear up the wrong perspectives of the gospel. My emerging
biblical theology of evangelism is being enhanced in seeing different and more exciting ways to
share the gospel. In order to change the view of many concerning the gospel we must let people
see that they do not need to wash their hands after shaking the hand of a religious person. The
believer does not need to become like the unbeliever but does not need to be seen as a pious,
egotistical,

Introduction
The organization that I chose to do the consultation report on was the Matador Mercado. It is
part of The University Corporation which is what runs most of the services on campus. There
are several Matador Mercado s on campus there is one in Housing, Sierra Center, Matador
BookStore Complex, and the University Student Union. They each have their own manager, and
the one I chose was the one located in the Matador Bookstore Complex. The manager of this
matador mercado is also the manager of the juice it up next door. The Matador Mercado is a
convenience store that sells items that can be eaten on the go. Some of the items include packed
sandwiches, snacks, salads, and self service hot and cold beverages. Its hours of operation are ...

The employees get trained well enough where they feel confident that they can perform the tasks
required of them, meaning they were trained well and were well informed. One of the employees
was a shift supervisor and the other a regular employee, I believe that there was disagreement in
whether there was performance monitoring because the regular employee always feels that
whatever he or she does is being monitored. What I found strange was that the question if the
supervisor was present during the task was marked NO for both of the employees. I would have
assumed that the regular employee would have marked yes but I can only assume that they believed
the question meant the manager the person who supervises every employee.
Hypothetical Intervention
If I were to intervene on employees not giving customer greetings I would make it so that the door
would have a sound when opened. Like what some stores have that when someone enters a ding
sound is heard. That will alert the employee that a customer has entered. Another method could be
getting the manager to deliver performance feedback in regards to the greetings in an effort to
make the employees more aware that they need to do a better job at it. Preferably in a group, like
mentioned in class to not alienate a person.

For many centuries Gypsies lived in caves cut out of the soft hillside of Sacromonte. There are two types of gypsies. Gypsy s from the north and gypsies from the South. • 5. Dna Evidence Of A Dna Unit Within A Crime Lab Today in the crime world, DNA evidence is strongly accepted in solving crime cases. This is all based in part by allowing a crime laboratory to have a designated unit whose main goal is to analyze DNA evidence to aid investigators with positive outcomes in crime case solving. With that being said we are going to discuss the functions of a DNAunit within a crime lab as well as address the vital role these units play in solving crime. Let s start by defining what in fact is DNA analysis. According to the FBI s crime lab, the DNA analysis process can take place when bodily fluid stains and other biological tissues are found on physical evidence collected from a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The DNA testing results obtained from evidence samples are compared to DNA from reference samples collected from known individuals. Such analyses may be able to associate victims and suspects with each other, with evidence items, or with a crime scene (FBI DNA Casework Unit, 2016). The FBI and other national crime labs can conduct nuclear, Y chromosome, and or mitochondrial DNA testing depending on the technology and funds appropriated to the unit. Smaller fielded units would probably not be able to do some testing which would result in them forwarding evidence or using other assets with greater capabilities. DNA is the genetic material that makes up the characteristics of all living organisms. While all human DNA is very similar in nature, there is just enough differences in ... • 6. Similarities And Differences Between Small Town And Small... In every country, the land is divided into sections of towns and cities. These towns and cities are homes to people who have looked upon their preferences to decide where to locate their homes. Individuals take into account the advantages and disadvantages of both locations as well as the opportunities presented. Hence, there are several similarities and differences between big cities and small towns. To begin, a significant difference between big cities and small towns is the cost of living. The cost of living in a big city is much higher than that of a small town due to the increase of population and demand. In the city, landlords tend to increase rate prices of living spaces depending on the demand for the space and the number of applicants. Also, the price of food and clothing from stores is much more costly because it is located in a busy city. The owners of these businesses do this because of the high demand, but limited supply of both space and items. However, towns have a lower population level than cities and the cost of living spaces or items is not as expensive as the latter. The cost of living in towns is ... Primary Sources In O Brien s The Things They Carried According to the Library of Illinois, primary sources of information are those that provide first hand accounts of the events, practices, or conditions you are researching. There is no portion about reliability or the significance of truth within the explanation of a primary historical source. O Brien s recollection of his first hand experience in the Vietnamwar is a good primary source because highlights the collective consciousness of America during the war, the collective memory of the soldiers who fought, and the emotional things they had to carry with them through the remainder of their lives. In any war story, but especially a true one, it s difficult to separate what happened from what seemed to happen....The angles of vision are skewed (71). The importance of storytelling is one of the main premises in the Things They Carried. Telling a story is an illustration of memory, and memory is prejudice. By telling stories, you objectify your own experience. You separate it from yourself. You pin down certain truths (158). Each soldier is going to have different memories, but most of their experiences are so similar they seem to form a universal truth and a collective memory of all their stories. O Brien s unification of fact and fiction is to illustrate the idea in which the real accuracy of a war story is less significant than storytelling. • 8. The Ethics Of Executions Should Be Legal The Ethics of Executions Over the past 10 years, more death row inmates have preferred execution to facing seemingly endless years of appeals, states an ABC News article (Robinson). With the ever increasing number of executions, the controversial debate over the legality of capital punishment creates a divide within the population. A wedge that separates the people who support capital punishmentis one complicated question: what role should a doctor play in executions? Doctors should be advocates for their patients no matter what the circumstances. Despite the infraction of American Medical Association (AMA) policy, it is important for a licensed medical professional with the correct knowledge and experience to monitor the execution. While a doctor should be on the scene in case of emergency, they should not play an active role in executions as is the policy in Texas and other states. The first thing to remember is that all doctors must adhere to the Hippocratic Oath which requires them to do no harm to their patients. However, the bounds of this oath are widely debated on cases that span Do Not Resuscitate directives, physician assisted suicide, executions, and anything that results in the death of a patient. In the case of executions, AMA policy states that it is unethical for doctors to be involved except in a peripheral way (Tanner). The AMA s stance prohibits doctors from supervising or contributing in any way even if it is to help ease the inmate s pain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Obesity Epidemic in the United States The United States of America is known for having a high obesity level. According to David Frum from CNN, except for Mexicans, American citizens are more likely to become obese than any other nationality. Some obese countries have enforced an extra high tax on fast foods and other high calorie foods, and many people believe that the U.S. should adopt the fat tax as well. According to Dictionary.com, the fat tax is a tax imposed on or proposed for high fat or otherwise unhealthy foodstuffs . Although a tax on junk food could reduce obesity, the low prices could protect low income families from going broke, and therefore a tax on junk food would not be beneficial to America. One of the main groups that would be negatively affected by a fat tax are the diabetics. Those who fight hypoglycemia occasionally need candy or soda to raise their blood sugar levels. Why should diabetics have to pay more for something that could potentially save their lives? They already have to pay extremely high costs for their insulin to keep their glucose levels from reaching too high. At Diabetic Care Services and Pharmacy, a box of five Humalog pen Kwikpens cost $339.29, which is extremely expensive, especially if the buyer does not have health insurance. It will particularly concentrate on the changes in the National Health Service (NHS) within the last decade and the impact that this has had on the Operating Department Practitioner profession. The National Health Service (NHS) was launched on 5th July 1948 by Aneurin Bevan, the then Minister of Health. Its 3 core principles were to meet the needs of everyone, to be free at the point of delivery and be based upon clinical need and not the ability to pay. The services were to be predominantly funded from general taxation. (NHS, 2011). The Porritt Report ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Patients Charter (Great Britain. Department of Health, 1991) focused on the service user being the consumer. It introduced their rights and expectations and defined the standards of service they could expect. This was subsequently updated in the Updated Patient Charter (Great Britain. Department of Health, 1995) which included more specific standards. In July 1998 the strategy for reorganising and modernising the NHS A First Class Service Quality in the New NHS (Great Britain. Department of Health, 1998) was published. Its aim was to modernise the NHS ensuring delivery of high quality services for all. Quality was to be maintained by setting standards through National Service Frameworks and the forming of National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE). These standards were to be monitored by the creation of the Commission for Health Improvement. This was to be an independent statutory body which could scrutinise quality improvements at a local level and address any serious issues identified. Spot checks can be carried out and clinical quality information is made public. Additionally there was also the introduction of an annual national survey of patient and user experience of the NHS. • 14. Potassium ( K + ) Channels Potassium (K+) channels are ubiquitous throughout biological systems as they are found in many different cell types including prokaryotes, eukaryotes and archaea. (However, for the scope of this exam, the examples will be limited to K+ channels found in neurons.) They are tetrameric integral membrane proteins that assemble to form transmembrane aqueous pores. Their basic function is to allow the passive flow of potassium ions down an electrochemical gradient rapidly and with high specificity. The high specificity of these channels is crucial in excitable cells such as neurons as they are able to exclude sodium ions (Na+) despite the sub angstrom difference between ionic radii, which allows for the establishment of ion gradients as well as a delayed flow between sodium and potassium ions to shape action potentials. This specificity also allows the channels to establish and maintain the resting potentialin many cells. All potassium channels have a distinctive, universal feature of two transmembrane (TM) helices and a short loop ( P loop ) between them that lines the top of the pore and is responsible for potassium selectivity. This canonical feature is referred to as 2TM/P. In terms of membrane topology, there are two broad classes of K+ channels: 1) the two transmembrane helix (2TM/P) subunit, typical of the inward rectifying (KIR) channels and, 2) the 6 transmembrane helix (6TM/P) subunit, typical of voltage gated (KV ) subtypes. This is one of many examples about the products that the U.S used from their own territory. The Marxist school of criticism focuses on the clash between the dominant class and the lower class. This poem is about the Grinch, who is very different from everyone else in his society, making him an outcast that nobody wants to be around. The Grinch is the embodiment of the lower class because he does not get to make important decisions and he lives in isolation. The Grinch did not want to follow the rules and so he broke away from the town, to live somewhere where his voice was heard. Once the Grinch stole all of the presents, stocking and trees, he realized that the real value was not in the presents, but in the people celebrating together. This caused him to look past his hate and break the class system, by joining in with the Whos. As a result, he was no longer separated in a separate class, as he transitioned into the dominant class. I believe that this poem does not fully reflect the economic division or even the class division, as it is a children s poem which mostly focuses on the message, instead of specific details. • 20. Problems In English Oral Communication English oral communicative ability According to Byrne (1986), oral communication is the process between speakers and listeners. The speakers use their productive skill to change their thought into appropriate language, and then the listeners use receptive skill to interpret the message from the speakers. In English communication, the speakers need communicative competence which is the ability of using or interpreting languages in appropriate way during the conversation. In other word, the speakers need to know the purpose of their speaking and they have to use the right language to talk with the right person (Hymes, 1981). According to Common European Framework (2001), the communicative competence consists of three elements including linguistic competence, sociolinguistic competence, and pragmatic competence. Revell (1979) also gave an opinion about communication, and his opinion is related with Hymes s. He claims that the ability of communication... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Inhibition The first problem in English speaking is inhibition. Many students are often inhibited when they try to speak English. According to Littlewood (2007), foreign language classroom can cause inhibition and anxiety easily. The students are often worried about making mistakes, fearful of criticism or embarrassment. 2. Lack of topical knowledge Rivers (1968) believes that sometimes the students cannot express themselves because the teachers push them to speak in the topic that is not suitable for them. They might have no idea how to use the grammar correctly, which vocabulary to use, or what to say about the topic that teacher asks them to answer. 3. Low participation In a large class, there is not enough time for every student to speak. Some students hardly or never participate in any oral practice because there are too many students in the class. Majority of the nobles lived their lives in luxury and were rich beyond the common man s wildest dreams. The thought of the medieval knights often brings nobility in mind, hence the question whether knights had to emanate from the noble class. Exemplary works by Sir Thomas Malory (1408 1471) recount the marvelous adventures of chivalrous, heroic knights of super human ability. The knights, abiding by the chivalry s strict codes of honor and demeanor went on quests to fight and defeat monsters and giants, thereby winning favor with a lady. Chivalry simply means having the skills to handle a horse. This ability, especially in combat, was of utmost importance to a medieval knight. This term began to take on new meanings, especially during the first crusade (1095 AD) when Christianization of knights began in earnest. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through his statement, Sir Kay effectively equates knighthood with nobility from birth. As such Sir Kay doubts Beaumains to the extent of challenging him to combat. Subsequently, Beaumains swiftly defeats Sir Kay even though unarmed with neither a spear nor a shield. Beaumains there after give sout Sir Kay s symbol of knighthood (his horse) to his dwarf implying that the dwarf would have become a better knight than Sir Kay. One particular movie entitled The Bucket List exhibits an astounding portrayal of late adulthood. In fact, there are many accounts that the movie entails about late adulthood. This includes the illustration of Erickson s late adulthood stage Ego Integrity vs. Despair, wisdom, marriage, friendship, parent child relationship, and death and dying in late adulthood. Having given less than a year to live because of cancer, the two characters Edward Cole and Carter Chambers seem to deal with despair rather than integrity, a stage Erickson depicts for late adulthood based on his ... Edward is wise in the business world, where he states that Presidents have asked for his advice and have dined with royalties all due to his well renowened wisdom in that category being that he s been around that business since the age of 16. Carter, especially, is wise in life lessons. He mentioned numerous words of wisdom throughout the movie and amongst them, my favorite was, I believe that you measure yourself by the people who measure themselves by you. For me though, one does not have to be in the late adulthood stage to be wise. I believe that, we, as humans, already have an innate ability of wisdom and is only strengthened through time and experiences that we acquire along the way. Another highlight obtained in the movie is the depiction of married couples in late adulthood. It seems to me that I have to agree with the statement that married couples in their late adulthoods are more satisfied than middle aged couples because, with time they are bounded with commitment and respect; overcoming the hurdles in life together longer, growing stronger from it each time. For Carter, he appears to be happily married with his wife, Virginia, because of the effort, support, concern and commitment that Virginia shows to care for Carter in his times of need and I am sure Carter would do the same if Virginia was in his place. Hence, Carter s view of marriage with respect, loyalty and faithfulness, in which he practiced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The costs of implementing this technology will not be offset by the benefits that farmers in the US have received. Not only will farmers lose money, but unemployment, which is already a problem in many developing nations, will increase, as farmers need to hire less labor to produce the same amount of crops. The high initial cost of purchasing GE seeds makes the technology more difficult to implement by poor farmers in less developed countries. As happened during the green revolution these small farmers would be forced to take out loans to buy this new technology, and if the technology does not deliver higher profits these farmers may lose their land. Even if a technology was developed that would bring the cost of production down to or below that of existing production cost, there is the issue of consumer preference. The increasing debate over genetic engineering has created a substantial difference in perception of the risks and benefits involved with GE food. Often limited to children only, in today s society play can be associated with adults as well. Play cannot be easily defined, but could be described by activity or behavior desired by an individual for pleasure (Henderson, 2010, p. 32). Often seen in leisure activity, it also has the ability to allow someone to express themselves in a passionate, energetic, imaginary way, whether the play is done in a systematic or an unsystematic manner, with no tangible goal or reward expected (Henderson, 2010, p. 9 p. 33). Play differs from leisure, recreation, and sport significantly in the fact that play refers to behavior rather than the activity itself (Henderson, 2010, p. 45); however, it could be seen by some as an essential part of life that enables an individual to deal with internal conflict, socialize with others, and grants them the ability to function properly in our everyday life. Some churches have started doing it but most still want to hold to the historical ways of outreach that do not seem to work. Servant evangelism teaches that one must be willing, just as Jesuswas, to get their hands dirty in order to see the lost saved. The employees get trained well enough where they feel confident that they can perform the tasks required of them, meaning they were trained well and were well informed. One of the employees was a shift supervisor and the other a regular employee, I believe that there was disagreement in whether there was performance monitoring because the regular employee always feels that whatever he or she does is being monitored. What I found strange was that the question if the supervisor was present during the task was marked NO for both of the employees. I would have assumed that the regular employee would have marked yes but I can only assume that they believed the question meant the manager the person who supervises every employee. Hypothetical Intervention If I were to intervene on employees not giving customer greetings I would make it so that the door would have a sound when opened. Like what some stores have that when someone enters a ding sound is heard. That will alert the employee that a customer has entered. Another method could be getting the manager to deliver performance feedback in regards to the greetings in an effort to make the employees more aware that they need to do a better job at it. Preferably in a group, like mentioned in class to not alienate a person. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
