Abstinence-Only Sexual Education
Bryant Kollie
Persuasive Paper
Comprehensive Sexual Education is More Effective than Abstinence Only Sexual Education A
mutually faithful monogamous relationship in the context of marriage is the expected standard of
human sexual activity. Different people will disagree about the veracity of this statement, but we know
that it does not reflect the experiences of the majority of young people (Collins 1). Sexual education is
a mandatory part of every grade school curriculum and is funded by the federal government. The
content of sexuality education curricula in America varies widely by region, by school district, and
sometimes, by classroom (Collins 1). I believe that because of this fact that it should be taught in a one
consistent way. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The classes proved information about contraceptives, STDs and HIV prevention. It also is age
appropriate and scientifically explained. Collins says it well that by denying teens the full range of
information regarding human sexuality, abstinence only education fails to provide young people with
the information they need to protect their health and well being. Students when asked survey by the
Kasier Family Foundation said that they knew more and felt better prepared to handle different
situations. Abstinence only education just chooses to avoid it and does not take into account students
who decide a different path. Abstinence only education supports say that by teaching the abstinence
plus education that they are sending mixed messages towards students. Current advocates for
comprehensive education cite that providing teens with contraceptive information does not encourage
early sexual activity. The Surgeon General David Satcher had said that based off of the information he
had derived from both approaches evidence gives strong support to the conclusion that providing
information about contraception does not increase adolescent sexual activity....[it only] increased
condom and contraceptive uses among adolescents who were sexually active. (Collins 9)Most

The War Against The Soviet War
Throughout the 1940s and 1960s the United States engaged in a Cold War against the USSR, with
both sides having access to nuclear weapons escalating any further would mean mutually assured
destruction; since neither nation could use traditional weapons instead they engaged in an ideological
war. During this time America employed many different tactics to both vilify communism and present
itself as the antithesis of everything it stood for, they fought by proxy with propaganda to promote fear
and mistrust. This psychological warfare would lead to significant changes in religion, as America
presented itself as a God fearing nation to combat the USSR s status as atheist, society, with American
culture being warped to display its stance against communism and inspire a sense of fear towards it
from the populace, and technology as both America and the USSR rushed to be the first to reach
milestones in an attempt to ultimately prove their own ascendancy. In an effort to appear as
anticommunist as possible the nature of America s views on religion vastly changed; patriotism would
become synonymous with Christianity. President Eisenhower urged people to attend church claiming
that it was their patriotic duty and, despite not having joined a church in any official capacity until the
year 1953, decidedly refereed to himself as the most deeply religious man I know . Furthermore,
courts would also begin ruling in favor of certain religious practices; reading the bible, prayer, and

Robert Frost Grief
Robert Frost: Through the Eyes of Depression Since the date of Robert s birth in 1874, Frost
experienced great affliction through his life. On May 5, 1885 his father died of tuberculosis leaving 8
dollars to the family s name at the age of eleven. While married at the age of twenty one, four of his
six children died through their suicide or disease. Irma, Frost s fourth child, out lived frost in a mental
hospital. His younger sister Jeanie also bound in a mental hospital had passed in 1929. Lesley, the
second child of Frost, out lived Frost, marrying twice and wrote a few children books. Unfortunately,
Frost continued to endure loss when his mother and his wife, Elinor, developed cancer passing soon
after the diagnosis. Discovering more of Frost s past life, it s no surprise that most of his poems
revolve around the five stages of grief and loss. In understanding the process of grief , the poem The
Road Not Taken seems to implement the stage of acceptance. In the first stanza, we are approached
with two decisions in a yellow wood , yellow meaning intellect, energy and wisdom . While Wood
meaning tree, implying growth or a rapid increase in something. Tree s usually turn yellow in the fall,
the season fall meaning death or dying, typically referring to a tragedy. Already knowing a positive

Quentin Tarantino s Film Pulp Fiction
You Are What You Eat Food has evolved from so much more than a source of nutrition in today s
society. It contains culture, traditions, and is shared with others. Quentin Tarantino s movie, Pulp
Fiction, briefly brings light to the importance and uniqueness of food from different cultures. There is
a scene where two men, Vincent and Jules, sit in a car having small talk about food in Europe. Parts of
their conversation, however, contain some very resonant discussions of food, place, and identity.
Vincent: But you know what the funniest thing about Europe is? Jules: What? Vincent: It s the little
differences. I mean, they got the same shit over there that we got here, but it s just, just, there it s a
little different. Jules: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, however, it has become so much more. According to a research paper written by Martin
Lindstrom, Branding is all about building emotional ties between consumer and product. (pg. 85)
Emotional connections are made with the synergy of all five senses, and such those brands that are
communicating from a multi sensory brand platform have the greatest likelihood of forming emotional
connections between consumers and their product. (pg. 84); Food and Beverage companies exploit
this fact to sell their products. Consider the Kellogg s breakfast cereal that goes snap, crackle, and
pop: Rice Crispies. Researchers at a specialized Danish laboratories worked to create the particular
sound and feel of the crunch was identifiably Kellogg s. (pg. 85). The crunch, smell, and taste, of the
cereal is accompanied by the tactile feel in your mouth pairing all five senses into one bite. Without
the simultaneous stimulation of multiple sensory receptors, however, the cereal would not be as
memorable. Take watching a scary movie for example. Visuals paired with audio make for a very
scary movie, but if you turn the audio off, suddenly the movie isn t so scary anymore. What we have
learned from Kellogg s is that their success lies in mastering the synergy of all five senses. Food can
stimulate all five senses at the same time to bring back past memories. In Carlos Eire starts his book

Nature And Nature In Coleridge s Frost At Midnight
Coleridge often explores the relationship between humanity and nature in his poetry. These two
groups are unified in his conversation poem Frost at Midnight , and allow the reader into his internal
thoughts. He meditates on comparisons by pairing the magical appearance of frost on the windowpane
to how his thoughts are in flux and reflux. Coleridge shows how the thinking of the mind mirrors
nature and how repeating patterns reveal universal aspects of poetry, thoughts, and nature. Coleridge
makes use of the repetitive patterns in nature and uses them to capture the mind s movement. The
structure of the poem uses frost as a guide. Similar to how frost propagates itself, the poem contains
organic, repeating fractal patterns with small variations within them. These patterns exist throughout
nature in honeycombs, mountains, clouds, and leaves. Furthermore, the speaker of the poem,
Coleridge, and his infant son, Hartley reflect the idea of repetition. Repetition exists as Hartley is a
replica of Coleridge as children can be seen as versions of their parents. However, Coleridge also
points out how he and his son are different as well. Coleridge wants his son to be intimately familiar
with nature, writing With tender gladness, thus to look at thee, / And think that thou shalt learn far
other lore / And in far other scenes! (lines 49 51). Coleridge will make sure that his son will enjoy
nature and not have the experience he had in the city. The repetitive nature and movement of

Chinese Mythology
In the beginning, (according to Chinese Mythology) the heavens and earth were one. The universe was
a big black egg and after 18,000 years it split. The light part floated up and became the heaven and the
turbid matter became the earth. In heaven King Guo Xin (King in charge of Earth) hated King Fang.
He announced that whoever cut off and brought him the head of King Fang could marry his daughter,
the princess. King Guo Xin s dog, Pan Gu, heard of the news and cut off the head of King Fang then,
he brought it to King Guo Xin. King Guo Xin ordered that Pan Gu got some fresh meat, but he didn t

Chaos first produced Gaia (Earth). Then Gaia produced Ouranos (Heaven) and the two of them
together produced the first generation of Titians. In this generation there were six boys and six girls
making twelve total. A titan from the first generation (Hyperion) produced Selene (the moon), Eos (the
dawn), and Helios (the sun). Another titian from the first generation (Lapetus) produced Ephimetheus,
Prometheus, Atlas, and more. All of these titans procreated together to make gods and goddesses.
Rhea and her brother Cronus (also titans) produced to get six (out of the twelve) Olympians. Cronus

sixth child) feared that he would do the same to her last baby so her parents helped her go to Crete
where she had baby Zeus and hid him in a cave. Rhea returned home and made Cronus think he was

Zeus was a grown man, he came to Mount Olympus to start a war against his father, but before doing

War is always a word which reminds Vietnamese people of an unforgettable pain in Vietnamese
history. According to a statistics, there were 800000 to more than 3.1 million people who were dead in
Vietnam War. A hundred of billion dollars were poured into Vietnam War such as weapons,

it also caused a great pain to childhood of all Vietnamese children who were innocent and should have

Pros And Cons Of Mandatory Military Draft
In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln was forced to begin drafting. Many people complained that it was
unconstitutional. This was the first mandatory military recruitment in U.S history. There has been two
more drafts since Lincoln had the first one in 1863. The argument most people have about drafting is,
if it is right? There are many pros and cons of having a draft, how the military would go about drafting
people, and how it will affect the families of those who are drafted. The first ever draft was held in the
Civil War. The South was the first to hold a draft in 1862. The men were required three years of
service and had to be between the ages of 18 and 35. Later on in the war, the age limit was raised
between the ages of 17 to 50. In many states such as Missouri and Iowa, the threat of drafting was
used to help speed up volunteering. However, in 1862 the Militia Act gave authority to the ... Show

It may also make us more apposing. Most countries would not want to go to war with an army of 300
million plus. That would help us get out of wars like we are in with smaller countries like Iraq and
Afghanistan. The draft would upgrade the quality of the U.S military recruitments (Military
Conscription, Recruiting and the Draft). It would give the military access to all the youth between the
ages of 20 and 25. Instead of having kids out of high school, who do not do anything and do not plan
on going to college, they can join the military for a few years and can help the U.S out. It will make
our military more youthful. More than a third of the new military recruitments fail to complete their
enlistments (Military Conscription, Recruiting and the Draft). Have more military personnel would
allow those who serve in the military to have shorter terms. If military had more people in it would
could allow those who enlist to have two year obligations compared to

Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs
INTRODUCTION
Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a
manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers about
the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court has
grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug manufacturer
breaches their duty. With the swarm of inconsistencies set forth by the Court in each newly decided
case, and a proposed rule regarding generic changes being effected preparing to take effect Fall 2015,
it is difficult to determine if the necessary guidance for drug manufacturers and consumers has been
provided.

Second, laws such as the learned intermediary doctrine state, and courts have widely held, that a
prescription drug manufacturer s duty to warn runs to the physician, the learned intermediary , not
directly to the patient. Only one state, New Mexico, has rejected the doctrine calling it outdated due to
the recent increase in direct to consumer marketing. The Court has struggled to define the distinction,
if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to warn claims. In
Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for brand drugs do not
preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In essence, brand name
manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in an effective and efficient
manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in Wyeth, and defines a distinction
for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption principles in Pliva v. Mensing. Finally, in
Mutual Pharamceutical v. Bartlett, the Court effectively barred generic failure to warn, and defective
design claims in state courts. Currently, under state law, generic drug product

Essay about French Baroque 1600c.e.-1750c.e.
French Baroque 1600 1750
Europe in the 1600s was at the end of Counter Reformation, and as the political and cultural shifts
took place, we begin to see art, particularly in France, influenced more and more, by the ruling
monarchy. The transition from Mannerism into Baroque is not clear, but eventually the arts started to
adopt a new look. And feel. Paintings started to become more exuberant, dynamic and ornamented.
The scale of work produced during this time increased dramatically. Where Mannerism marked a
departure from classical and realistic norms, Baroque becomes a return to these norms, but with an
emotional undertow and visual tension. However, through the Baroque pursuit of eloquence, it
abandoned the precious and contorted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The light is always obscured by another element in the painting, which gives it a more dramatic, more
human feel, with greater depth. The emotional effect of this is very intimate and human. The
duplicitous nature of shadow and light in a La Tour painting could be seen as a metaphor for the good
and bad contained within human nature. It is also vague enough to be open to multiple interpretations.
In any interpretation this duality is almost given more importance than the subject matter.
The personality of Nicolas Poussin was contrary to La Tour, though both were very rational and
humanistic. Poussin sought to enter into the person of his subject, to become immersed in
psychological analysis. He combines his love of virtue and his love of landscape by placing tragic
figures in richly interesting and complexly constructed, heroic landscapes. He produced some of the
most demanding, yet satisfying landscape paintings in western culture. He believed passionately that
the disposition of the painting as a whole could be constructed to covey a mood or emotion. He also
had a unique combination of pagan and Christian themes, often giving a poetic treatment to subjects
from classic mythology and ancient history. Poussin was a classicist for whom the aesthetic values of
antiquity represented not only a formal ideal, but also a moral standard, a way conceiving a form that
cannot be separated from the good and true.

The key finding highlighted the low level of reliability placed by clinicians on data representations

Bioinformatics involves complex data visualization techniques that are technologically advanced and
therefore prone to cognitive overload. The study conducted to review current human factors research
in interaction, usability and visualization within bioinformatics, concluded that human factors play a
significant role in designing and evaluating information visualization tools. Perception of
bioinformatics tools by users goes a long way in influencing their understanding of the complex data
as well as the perceived usability and accessibility of these systems [3 cite the reference not number].
According to [10 cite the reference not number] cognitive overload has also been identified as an
EMR usability problem in evaluations conducted as part of some other studies. For example, Rose et
al. (2005) suggested that when the amount of information presented in an interface increases, user
attention is divided, as in multiple task performances, the probability of errors increases. Minimization
of cognitive load has been highlighted in a literature review of usability and safety in the electronic
medical records interface design. As per [1 cite the reference not number] cognitive overload was
often associated with responses of confusion and uncertainty, especially when participants had
multiple visual cues to focus on in the visual displays.
Additionally [2 cite the reference not number] research has shown that poorly designed technologies

Oprah Winfrey Leadership Analysis
Oprah Winfrey has a way with connecting with people. This leader implements several different
strategies to achieve and gain her success. Therefore, when Oprah was airing her television show, she
would give the audience gifts, such as, prior to Christmas, and give the audience her favorite items
from her Christmas list. Oprah is no stranger of giving because everyone went home with nice and
occasionally expensive gifts like UGG Boots, because Its appears evidential that Oprah plays a vital
role in their spike in company sells and marketing for this company because this is where many
consumers first saw these items, on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah believes and listens to her
followers, because she knew the majority of the latest trends, because Oprah is respected in our
society, she could probably convince anyone to purchase anything that she suggests. Therefore,
consumer power is a major tactic that Oprah implement in her leadership skills. Listening to your
followers is vital because these are the people that up and personal with the items and products.
Therefore, sharing ideas, listening, and receiving feedback is detrimental for any business because it s
important that all followers feel that they are apart of an organization. However, some business leaders
are not willing and open to hear the ideals of the followers and only feel that they are the person that

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Research Paper
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of
Western music (Sadie , 1) was an Austrian composer born in Salzburg on January 27, 1756 to Leopold
Mozart and Anna Maria, née Pertl, the former of whom was an experienced music teacher and a minor
composer in his own right. Wolfgang Amadeus was the youngest of seven children, though only he
and his older sister also named Anna Maria, survived infancy. A child prodigy, Mozart was often
caught observing the keyboard lessons given to his sister, and by the age of three could be seen:

Bob Dylan And The American Civil Rights And Anti War...
Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer songwriter,
artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest,
although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation.
Nevertheless, early songs such as Blowin in the Wind and The Times They Are a Changin became
anthems for the American civil rights and anti war movements. After he left his initial base in the
American folk music revival, his six minute single Like a Rolling Stone altered the range of popular
music in 1965. His mid 1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the
United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk
movement. Dylan s lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary
influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning
counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody
Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres.
His recording career, spanning 50 years, has explored the traditions in American song from folk,
blues, and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music,
embracing even jazz

HISTORICAL AND INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES OF EARLY YEARS

The purpose of this assignment is to critique and evaluate the chosen article in terms of strengths and
weakness and to demonstrate an understanding of an international educational approach to Early Years
education. In addition it will explore the similarities and differences of the international approach to
the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) working within my setting. Furthermore it will

Throughout my career I have worked within settings that do not comply to a national curriculum as
there was none, and also within settings that did. It was in 1996 that the first UK curriculum was
introduced which was called Desirable Outcomes . Within the document were learning outcomes to be
achieved by all children by the age of five and being a centralised system, an inspection scheme was
also introduced. In this article Soler and Miller (2010) highlight how these changes were perceived to
be shaping the early childhood curriculum from the outside rather than from within the early
childhood community.
On the opposite side of the continuum, the Reggio Emilia approach is a programme that is centred on
the principles of respect, responsibility, and community. It is based on the interests of the children
through a self guided curriculum with no early learning goals or inspections.
The article then goes on to explain how in 1999 new curriculum guidance was introduced in the UK
which was entitled Early Learning Goals . It was later developed to bring in six learning areas and
stepping stones that led each child towards an early learning goal. Soler and Miller (2010) research
this statement further and write, that in structuring the curriculum and its assessment in this manner,
the policy makers have made assumptions about where the levels begin and end for all children. My

MightSight was an interesting disruptive idea. The mental health market is growing and is continuing

made it clear how Millennials would feel about their data being available on mobile, but I would have
been interested to understand how Group 37 would have overcome the obstacle, via their branding,
about how people would feel about being implanted with a chip.

It was a shame they were presented without narration, as I felt they could have made some substantial
claims about how the App would match John and Marie s requirements. Marie s persona mentioned
that she never had the time to go see a psychiatrist, however, for the chip to be implanted in the
customer they would need to find time to see their physician. I think these challenges could have been
covered if the slide would have been narrated.
● Early adopters were depicted in the Business Model Canvas, but it would have been great to hear
why Medical Students and young music and sports stars would have taken to the App and why they
would have been advocates of the business.
● As specified in the proposal, narration wasn t recorded over every single slide.
● The brand mission and purpose were unique, but I felt it would have been interesting to understand
how MindSight would have been positioned and would appeal to the target audience, creating an
authentic experience. The slide was cut off at the end, which again was a shame as I wanted to hear
more.
How could this have been improved?
● More supporting evidence about how the App would disrupt the market would have made the
proposal more compelling.
● I liked the idea of the content marketing strategy, I could how the videos of the personas would be

Mexico and then expanded north into the Southern United States, especially into the Southwest. While
The Mexican Revolution in 1810 drove the Spanish out of Mexico and Mexican territory, the Mexican
War from 1846 to 1848 ended Mexican control of the Southwest, and this is what explains the process
of forming another American minority that so called Mexican Americans, and like any other minority
of that era, they suffered losing power, land, and wealth. To stand against inequality, injustice, and
discrimination, we, as Mexican Americans, formed different organizations that to take a collective
actions in order to achieve our goals of equality, justice, and civil rights. For example the
Confederacion de Uniones de Obreros Mexicanos (CUOM) was formed in 1927 in Los Angeles. It
proved to be the first really stable organization among Mexican workers. They organized three
thousand workers into twenty locals, and in 1928 they struck in the Imperial Valley.

Nike Wacc Case
NIKE INC. CASE 14
Philip Chen, Choco Huang, Ariel Chou, Matt Krieger
In this report we analyzed Cohen s approach in calculating WACC. After observing how Cohen
derived his figures we came up with our own WACC, terminal value, and EPS.
Cohen broke down his calculations into five parts 1) Single or Multiple Costs of Capital 2) Proportion
of capital from debt and equity 3) Cost of Debt 4) Cost of Equity 5) WACC
In part one; we disagreed with Cohen where he decided to value the company as a whole instead of
valuing each division separately. Since Nike is a multidivisional firm Cohen should of aggregated the
values of the individual divisions and calculate a different cost of capital for each one. Since the

The beta is the 0.69 YTD 06/30/2001 figure and our risk premium is the arithmetic mean. Both are
found in exhibit 4. We used the arithmetic mean because it is a better indicator of the average returns
in the past and 71% of financial analysts prefer arithmetic mean over geometric mean. Geometric
mean is not preferred because (PLEASE ADD WHY NOT HERE. I REMEBER BOB DOING AN
EXAMPLE IN CLASS WHERE GEOMETRIC MEAN IS A TRICK ON STUIPID INVESTORS).
Here is our calculation of CAPM.
CAPM=5.39%+0.69(7.50%). CAPM= 10.6%
In Part 5 we can summarize our calculations for WACC. Table 1.2 shows our WACC. | Portion | Cost
(K) | Contribution to WACC | Common Share | 30.57% | 10.60% | 3.24% | Debt | 69.43% | 9% | 6.25%
| | | WACC | 9.49% |
Our WACC is higher than Cohen s because of the portions allocated to debt and equity, and the use of
market value to calculate cost of debt.
Since WACC has changed the terminal value will also change. The formula for terminal value= year
10 FCF*(1+L T growth)/ (WACC L T growth). We used the L T growth in exhibit 4, which is forecast
of dividend growth at 5.50%. Therefore the new terminal value is 41,584. Since terminal value has
changed the discounted present value of future cash flow will also change. The new discounted PV of
FCF less debt is 21,224. The new EPS is $67.50 (21,224/271.5).

Critically Discuss Augustine s Distinction Between Just...
Augustine is highly acclaimed as the originator of the Just War theory. He founded a concept that
would be built upon for many years to come. Augustine argued that war was sometimes sadly an
unfortunate necessity to preserve order in society. He believed that wars should only be undertaken if
they satisfy a certain criteria for a just war. McCellend notes how ‘the original condition of man s
soul was innocence but since the Fall the soul has been tainted and is thus incapable of achieving
goodness. While Augustine was fundamentally against war as he believed it was sinful, he recognised
that sometimes there were just wars that could be fought under Gods jurisdiction to obtain a just
peace. This essay will examine the criteria that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Augustine did not accept that justice could be obtained through killing in self defence. One should
only be permitted to kill only under the instruction of God or a legitimate authority ordained by God.
He believed that self defence should never be a valid justification for causing harm to another man.
However, in the Bible one of the ten commandants is that ‘thou shallt not kill . In arguing that killing
is sometimes an unavoidable evil Augustine contradicts traditional Christian doctrine and goes against
the teachings of Jesus. According to Augustine Christians have a moral duty to contribute to the state.
Their duties involve participating in the public office and fighting in a just war if it is deemed
necessary by their ruler Augustine asserted that once a war has been declared the soldier must obey his
leader regardless of whether he is waging a just or unjust war. The soldier is therefore not guilty if the
war he engages in is unjust but instead it is the sole fault of the ruler. Augustine argued that ‘the
soldier is innocent, because his position makes obedience a duty . To punish a soldier for participating
in an unjust war would encourage dissertation and anarchy amongst the ranks. Augustine thus believed
that there should be no resistance to

Title: 4 Things You Likely Don t Know About Facebook Marketing
Have you been marketing on Facebook but don t seem to be getting a lot out of it? Are you measuring
your social media activities? As a business, you definitely should be, but many don t. According to a
recent report, only 42% of business surveyed stated that they were able to measure their social
activities.
When you spend money on advertising, you should be paying attention to your return on investment
(ROI). However, in 2014, only 37% of business said they were able to measure this figure. Compare
that number to the 87% of businesses who said they planned to increase their time and money
investment on social media, and you can see that there is an issue with those figures.
Many businesses using social media today don t know what it is doing for them, but they continue to
spend time and money on those platforms. Would you spend money on a diet meal service but never
get on a scale to see if you are making improvements in your health and weight? Blindly spending
money on Facebook without tracking your results is essentially the same thing. Wouldn t you like to
have a successful marketing strategy that allows you to see positive results?
Don t get me wrong, there are plenty of ready to act prospects on Facebook that will fill your sales
funnel and give you the revenue you need. However, there are certain

Cape Florida State Park Essay
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park rests on 400 acres protected land. Occupying the southern third of
the island of Key Biscayne, this natural respite for birds and people alike falls just south of Miami
Beach. This park was rightly named for The Miami News editor who fought to protect the land and
preserve the Key in its natural state.
Along the east side of the park, one and a quarter miles of sandy beachfront boasts open views of the
Atlantic Ocean. This beautiful area offers visitors access to warm waters and white sands. With a reef
six miles offshore, the waters are protected and gentle waves lap at the feet of both children and
adults.

The park and beach claim a role in history as well. A 2004 historical marker identifies this area as part
of the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Trail. Using these waterways to escape to
the Bahamas and settle on the Andros Islands, this beach offered sights of a more abundant life. In the
early 1820s, 300 American slaves found freedom aboard 27 sloops and additional canoes sailing from
Florida to the Bahamas.
Cape Florida Light
Home to the Cape Florida Light, this shoreline holds even more history. Built in 1825, this light is the
oldest standing structure in Greater Miami and South Florida today. While restored years earlier, this
lighthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
The claim to fame for this landmark is that it is the only lighthouse attacked by Indians. After the
attack, the U.S. Army built a base on these shores to protect the land and sea from more invaders.
Tours of the light and the lighthouse keeper s cottage present guests with the history of this shoreline.

Persuasive Essay On Self Defense
Self Defense is widely known as a universal principle that allows a person to protect themselves under
appropriate circumstances; Yet appropriate circumstances goes far beyond its counterparts. In many
cases, victims are accused instead of the violator, even though they intended to rob and/or murder.
Even though many walk away without punishment there are a ton of cases that should not be
overlooked. It sounds as if the definition is plain and simple, but what is the level of force that goes
beyond the sufficient level allowed? Most people tend to think that Self Defense should be the last
resort and should never reach the level of murder, but it should be redefined as a mechanism
acceptable when the victim s life is threatened for a reasonable cause, because many are charged for
murder even though the attack was protection from harm.
By reinforcing the government s definition of self defense, citizens would have an easier time
differentiating between a reasonable cause or deadly violence. A reporter from CBS news speaks of 16
year old Mindy, charged of murder, Her defense hinged on the claim that the physical and emotional
abuse she says she suffered at the hands of her father left her in such terror of him that one look from
him that night sent her over the edge . In this case, A daughter of an abusive father was pushed past
her limits and ended all of her physical and mental pain by killing her father to protect herself. This

Group Intelligence And Scholastic Aptitude Tests
In comparison to Individual Testing, Group Intelligence and Scholastic Aptitude tests are used more
frequently within school settings as administration requires little training on the examiners part since
directions are outlined clearly in their respective manuals. Such tests are cost efficient, requires
simpler materials, evaluate students performance and include; Cognitive Abilities test (CogAT),
Kahlmann Anderson Test, Test of Cognitive Skills (TCS/2) and The Otis Lennon School Ability Test,
8th edition (OLSAT8). The CogAT has a multilevel edition applicable for use with grades 3 through
12 and is comprised of three batteries for evaluating children s verbal, quantitative and nonverbal
abilities. The nonverbal category calls for geometric figures from tasks requiring classification,
analogies or figure synthesis (Hood Johnson, 2006). The Kuhlmann Anderson Test on the contrary is
consisted of seven different levels for kindergarten through grade 12 each having eight tests. It is
considered one of the most popular group intelligence test for usage in schools is less relied upon
language and produces verbal, nonverbal and total scores. The scores are then presented as confidence
intervals and cognitive skills quotient.
Similarly the Test of Cognitive Skills 2 is administered as the group test equivalent to the Stanford

Perceived as the home of the U.S film industry, the ethnically diverse suburb of Hollywood has
become a shorthand reference for both the industry and people involved.
Often regarded as the birthplace of movie studios, the earliest (and seemingly most affluent) film
companies to have graced Hollywood included Warner Brothers , MGM , and Paramount Pictures .
First cultivated by studios such as these were silent black and white films, with each major production
company developing and establishing their own dynamic film genre; for example MGM was one of
the first to produce musicals and romances. By the end of the silent era, many of the main genres were

Jack Kerouac’s The Dharma Bums Essay
Jack Kerouac s The Dharma Bums
Jack Kerouac s The Dharma Bums does not fall too far from a basic description of his life. Kerouac
spent the bulk of his writing career riding trains from city to city, meeting people and writing books
and poetry. He was among the premier writers of the Beat Generation, a group of primarily urban
poets and writers who put the basics of life and their spiritual nuances into poetry with a beat. The
book, The Dharma Bums, is a window into the daily structure of the Beat Generation.
Kerouac wrote The Dharma Bums while living the life of a bum, riding from city to city as a
stowaway on various trains. He used an old portable typewriter that fed from a large roll of paper, into

He is almost always meticulous in certain aspects of a given scene while leaving out what one would
think are important details. However, the descriptions given are always enough to reveal a full, vivid
picture of moments, whether only gestures are described or wall paper.
The various scenes of the book are often unexpected, but the matter of fact style of writing usually
diffuses. Kerouac creates such a familiarity with his readers that it becomes assumed that any place
unusual to the reader is typical for him, and in this way he pulls the reader further into this world of
the Beat Generation. Oftentimes the scenes are set in the cramped places such as boxcars and single
room shacks frequented by Ray and his friends. Other times the scenes are places like cafe s and
restaurants around San Francisco, San Diego, and other, usually Californian, cities; however some of
Kerouac s most effective place descriptions throughout The Dharma Bums are found in the stories of
other places told by those Ray meets, rather than where he actually goes.
Among the most poignant aspects of The Dharma Bums is Kerouac s ability to use long narratives to
pull his readers into the experiences of the characters. The Dharma Bums is replete with the
explanation of the experiences of ancient Zen Buddhist thinkers and their experiences as they search
for enlightenment. Kerouac constantly accesses the ancient writings of Zen Buddhist monks. Using

Welcome, welcome to all! As you all already know, it is now the time that we begin with the dance of
benevolence, following with which we will commence with the raising of the cups. But first, let us

accompanied. I watched with uncertainty. Nothing was happening until the crowd gasped and a
beautiful young female in a billowy, bronze colored dress emerged. Nimbly, she glided down the

ballroom floor. She looked around the room, in greetings to her guests and her lips stretched wide,
flashing a white teeth smile. Just then, in a wave like motion, the lights burned brightly again, the
music continued, and chatter and dancing became omnipresent. I returned my gaze to Gemma. Her
eyes darted anxiously about as she stood alongside the other maidens. I had to move quickly. I held up
my hand to capture her attention, but instantly I felt a tingling. My hand was beginning to disappear,
evaporating in a swirling swarm of particles. Before I could start to comprehend what was happening,
my whole body started to whirl around in a rapid spin. In a blink of an eye, I found myself still in the

Private Development and Corporate Funding to Fight Shoreline Erosion
At its simplest, shoreline erosion is the result of the combination of processes, both natural and
manmade, by which shoreline and beaches are damaged or lost. For this discussion, wetlands are also
included. There is an ongoing debate over the best way by which to preserve beaches, shorelines, and
wetlands. Conservation extremists argue that limiting or restricting land use, and restoring damaged
property with tax money represents the most prudent answer to shoreline erosion. Included in this
position is the inherent role of government intervention to preserve America s shoreline. There are

Many, if not most, of our coastal environment concerns stem from population growth pressure
(Rhinehart, 1997). These trends make it clear that the hodgepodge of environmental and zoning laws
throughout the country many at odds with each other are unable to cope with the pressures brought to
bear on America s shoreline resources. Only the consistently well reasoned principles of private
industry can answer the growing needs of shoreline, beach, and water resource management.
There are many wise and sensible voices pointing out the failures and shortcomings of the
conservation movement. Washington State Representative Joyce Mulliken, R Ephrata, has recently
announced the proposal of legislation to repeal shoreline regulations approved by the Washington
Department of Ecology (DOE). The regulations would prohibit the use of all lands within 200 feet of a

Mulliken points out those state s most extreme environmental lobbyists created these rules, without

that would cost millions to local taxpayers. Regulations such as the ones imposed on the people of
Washington State represent a direct threat to the state s farmers, ranchers, dairy producers, and other
agricultural industries. They also constitute a direct threat to private property

Essay On Reimbursement
Reimbursement is the blood of any healthcare facility. The rates of reimbursement are varied based on
insurance payers, location, and other factors. Medicare is the biggest insurance payers in the
healthcare industry. The Medicare reimbursements for providers are based on providers work, practice
expenses, and professional liability. A relative value unit (RVU) is assigned to each of the three
factors, which calculates the workload or expended efforts in caring for patients by providers. Among
those, practice expense is calculated based on the actual expenses that practices invest in the process
of care for patients, which is about 41 percent of total reimbursements. Adopting new technologies to
comply with constant changes in rules and regulations of healthcare as well as improve care process
for patients is a part of practice expenses. The Food and Drug Administration promotes medical

Subliminal Messages And Subliminal Stimuli

A good way to look at your subconscious is like the gas in your car that you drive. You obviously
know that there is gas in your car thanks to the fuel gauge and the fact that you physically pumped and

functioning to power the vehicle, and you don t really think about everything that it does to make your

section of our mind because they operate below the invisible line of what you are presently aware of
and are able to interpret by your subconscious (Biology Online, 2014).
The first understanding that there may be something other than our conscious that could influence us

Daddy says are just jokes. Big Mama s love for Big Daddy is so grand that she tries to ignore the truth
by lying to herself. She also lies to herself thinking that only if Maggie and Brick had a child it would
change Brick into a new man. That eventually the drinking would stop and he would become the
family man that is now capable of running the family estate. The truth is only Brick can change
himself and be that man if he comes to accepting

The Expansion Of The Frontier And The Relationship Among...
Unforgiven and Stagecoach
The film Stagecoach incorporated the expansion of the frontier and the relationship among the Native
Americans. The film starts with a wide view of an open valley to show the vast plain and the open
frontier, introducing and getting an idea of the setting. The movie was interesting in the sense that it
had more social commentary than most films. An article was written by Thomas Myers explaining the
film and the unique social commentary of the film Stagecoach by stating, it depicted a sub community
of individuals each representing a distinct social status in western history, and that this clash of classes
and misfit characters provide a perfect set up for social commentary about diverse societies. The
western hero possesses a sense of resilience that allows him to outsmart a group of outlaws.
In earlier western films, Native Americans were viewed as savages and ethnic groups were viewed as
ignorant due to the lack of political correctness. Like most early western films, violence was utilized
in place of punishment for bad men, and as Thomas Myers said in his article about the comparison of
western films, was a means for restoring order to the community. African Americans were not added
to the cast of characters in Stagecoach, but during the early expansion of the western frontier, there
were African American cowboys and other settlers that came from many ethnic groups. Another
example of ignorance expressed in minority groups is the portrayal

Analysis Of The Poem Elephants Of Mexico Sing Terribly,...
Elephants in Mexico sing terribly, Heather chants as we reach the commons. Elephants in Mexico sing
terribly... Heather, what the heck, I opine. You ve been orating that all day. Its actually for my
Astronomy assessment tomorrow, the whole class needs to know the layers of the atmosphere..
Elephants mean Exosphere, In means Ionosphere, Mexico means Mesosphere Okay, that s rash. But
genuinely clever too. I need to remember that for future reference. I insulate her in the middle of her
parley. Heather giggles, soon after she takes a seat on an available lunch table and I follow. You re
welcome! Props to James though, he s the bomb. Speaking of James, where is that stud anyways? I
ask. Haven t seen him since Monday. James has been with his fraternity lately for some kind of group
study, She enunciates the tidings with finger quotes. I m feeling skeptical about it too; he scarcely
texts me anymore and that makes me glum. Well, whatever he s doing right now, I m reasonably sure
that James is going to be fine. I console. At that instant, both Abby and Carlos plunk down with us,
wearing their prototypical I m so done with life facets. Abby takes a quick sip of her juice box before
endowing me a weighty look. I m extremely tired, the Psychology test whooped my ass so hard, She
jaws languidly. Bryan whooped my ass so hard, literally, Carlos responds with wide eyes. So hard that
you ll tear up and say Daddy whip that

The Just Exercise of Political Power
The just exercise of political power is conceived of as resting upon constitutional principles.
Constitutional principles are a position from which we operate justly. However, what constitutes as
just? Throughout history political power derived from many historical foundations that were deemed
just based on the society that upheld those principles. This notion is evident throughout the
development of constitutional doctrines in Greek democracy, Aristotle s political theory, Roman
Republicanism, and English Constitutionalism.
Due to society, cultural diversity troubles the mode of governess. This is because at times there are
circumstances where cultural ideologies oppress other cultures and limit the concept of a democratic

What Aristotle called Polity was based on political power and the best practical government. This
notion differed from Ancient Greek democracy.
During the 4th Century B.C, Aristotle rose as a critic of direct democracy based on two grounds: are
all individuals qualified to govern? Should we select a few individuals who are fit for leadership?
Bernard Crick writes, while democracy was for him a necessary condition for good government, it
was far from a sufficient condition (Crick 1). Aristotle had a negative outlook on human nature. This
led to his belief on how a government system should rule and the dismissal of a direct democracy.
Similarly to Ancients, Aristotle believed that a direct democracy would only crumble. For this reason,
he introduced Checks and balances . Checks and balances gave limited power to each branch of power
and to the people. He identified his a polity by representative government, balanced government, and
a mixed government. Representative government is one ruled by a leader . And yet, he questioned the
idea of placing trust in the hands of the uneducated, incompetent. More importantly, he believed that
in order to be a leader, one must meet the five characteristics to be considered a leader . The
characteristics required: intelligence, knowledge, experience, wisdom, and virtue. It was especially
important for one to attain wisdom because that is the end result of knowledge

DOPAMINE AGONISTS AND IMPULSIVE AND COMPULSIVE DISORDERS IN PARKINSONS
DISEASE PATIENTS AND TARGETED THERAPEUTICS
INTRODUCTION
Dopamine agonists, pharmaceutical drugs utilized to treat motor symptoms of Parkinson s disease
have recently revealed to be strongly associated with the development of adverse pathological
impulsive compulsive disorders (ICD) in Parkinson s disease patients. Parkinson s disease is a chronic
neurodegenerative disorder linked with the loss of dopamine in the substantia nigra within the
midbrain. Dopamine is a salient chemical neurotransmitter which relays signals between adjacent
neurons involved in the initiation and control of voluntary motor movement, mood and behavioural

alcoholism, prior to Parkinson s disease diagnosis (Weintraub et al., 2009).Low dopamine levels in the
substantia nigra not only pose serious implications in the voluntary movement and walking of
Parkinson s disease patients but also in reward processing, motivation and positive emotions.
Impulsive behaviours are described as the inability to resist temptation to carry out certain activities
e.g. compulsive shopping which provide an immediate feeling of satisfaction and gratification for the
sufferer and can lead to adverse financial and social consequences. In contrast, compulsive behaviour
is characterized by an urge to perform certain action (Reference and Reference). Impulsive
compulsive behaviours linked with the use of prescribed dopamine agonists include pathological
gambling, compulsive shopping, punding, binge eating and hypersexuality, while dopamine
dysregulation syndrome(DDS) stems from the compulsive use of levodopa (Raja Bentivoglio,

The Farnese Atlas Analysis
Atlas by Vik Muniz is a colossal photographic portrait made from trash. Using garbage scavenged
from Gramacho, one of the largest landfills in America, Muniz models trash into images of classical
portraits with his own twist. ...I m trying to step away from the realm of fine arts, I think it s a very
exclusive, very restrictive place to be... What I want to be able to do is to change the lives of people
with the same materials they deal with every day , Muniz stated in film Wasteland. The film
Wasteland, directed by Lucy Walker, tracks the development of Muniz series of monumental
photographic portraits made from trash. The Farnese Atlas is a 2nd century Roman marble replica of a
Hellenistic sculpture of Atlas, a Titan sentenced by Zeus to hold up his burden for eternity, kneeling
with the celestial spheres of the sky weighing down heavily on his shoulders. The Farnese Atlas is an
enormous sculpture standing at seven feet tall and is currently located at the National Archaeological
Museum of Naples, in Italy. Although their actual form and matter are different, both the Atlas and
The Farnese Atlas are similar in the way that both paintings portray a male character with a serious or
stern expression, carrying a large spherical burden or load on their shoulders. Also, both pieces seem
to be copies of other pieces made before their own time. Vik Muniz s Atlas is his own interpretation of

Early Literacy Experiences
A brain is a wonderful thing to have. Why waste it? Well, research shows that reading makes you
smarter. Although you may not notice but you read every day. From little things like a stop sign to a
chapter book or your homework. Reading has an effect on your grades and your IQ. Scientist have
proven on different test subjects or even identical twins that the ones who don t read that often have a
lower grade level then the person who does read often.
According to Teach Reading early, In the first six years, children learn at a much faster pace than at
any other time in their lives. This shows how if you teach your kid how to read in the first six years
that s when they can actually develop in reading and have a higher grade level then kids ... Show more

big complicated books. All though she didn t comprehend the book very well she liked to bring it to

parents would come over to her and complement about how young she s reading Shakespeare at.
When all the parents left her she d take out her crayons and color in the margins. Now when she goes
to the library to check out books she notices some kids looking at picture books. Their parents would

The Health And Fitness Industry
The Health and Fitness Industry generates over $80 billion globally with about 151.5 million members
worldwide. Since 2009 the number of gym memberships have increased roughly 25% per statista.com.
Due to these statistics combined with my past knowledge and work experience in the fitness industry I
have decided to pursue a future venture idea in this industry. To help me further understand the ropes I
reached out to celebrity fitness trainer and gym owner Gunnar Peterson. Although he doesn t operate a
large commercial gym location, Gunnar has made a name for himself as one of the most trusted
trainers in the industry.

to it, the individual asked how much he charges, Gunnar responded with we will figure all that out
when we get there. Later that night he talked with his girlfriend and decided to take on the
opportunity. Balancing his new client s training sessions in between his own personal workouts and
work. A few days into it Gunnar started to receive more and more clients. It didn t take long for
Gunnar to realize that he was making more money training clients 3 days a week then he was making
at the management company leading him to quit after just 10 days.
Company Expansion and Pivots

Client base expanded when a Chiropractor referred him clients.
Decided that he needed to find a home base after he started to sing the jingle to KFWB news radio.
Surveyed the area near his apartment for a gym to train his clients.
Found a gym in Beverly hills to train his clients. 8 years later decided to train out of his home, after a
year he purchased the home next door to turn into a gym.
Purchased his first retail gym location with his wife.
Lost his gym in a divorce, back to training clients at their homes.

Emissions Mitigation Essay
Emissions Mitigation Through Provincial and Municipal Policy Development According to Canada s
Emissions Trend report, the two provinces that contributed the most to the country s emissions are the
province of Alberta and Ontario. Alberta has suffered many first hand consequences of high GHG
emissions, notably the massive wildfire in Fort McMurray, a fire that burned 85 000 hectares of land
(MacCleans, n.d.). Ontario on the other hand faced a cooler and wetter summer for 2017. Due to the
high contributions of emissions by Albert and Ontario, these provinces have high priorities to establish
legislation and policies to reduce emissions. However, they have enacted multiple provincial
legislation targeting environmentally sustainable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned before, Ontario s Planning Act is enforced by a city s Official Plan, a document
outlining and providing guidance for a city s growth and development. However these official plans
do not specify emissions reductions. While there is legislation and action taken by provincial
governments, the same cannot be said for municipal governments. Pathways and Barriers to Emissions
Reductions and Policy As illustrated in Table 1, a large contributor to Canada s emissions is the oil
and gas economic sector, in other words, a large part of the energy production sector. Emissions
reductions policies and legislations have been signed and enacted by by federal, provincial, and
municipal governments. Hughes and Chaudhry analyze the pathways and barriers to emissions
reduction targets that have been set out by the Canadian federal government. The proposed targets are
20% below 2006 levels by 2020 and 60 70% below 2006 by 2050. Hughes and Chaudhry analyze
pathways proposed to non carbon emitting energy sources by the National Round Table on the
Environment and the Economy (NTREE), a Canadian government environmental advisory
organization. One pathway is hydroelectricty. Hydroelectricity, according to Hughes and Chaudhry,
meets ~60% of Canada s electricity needs. In 2008, Canada produced 373 total generation (TWh) of
power through hydroelectricity, and is expected to increase production up to 890

Before I pass on from this life, I wish to become a professional oboist, I would like to compose music,
become an animator, work at Dreamworks Animation Studios, and earn my PhD in anything I pursue.
The oboe has been my life, I started at a young age, I didn t really know what I was getting myself
into, I wasn t really interested in playing the oboe, I never imagined myself playing oboe in high
school. But by my sophomore year, I finally started to enjoy playing oboe, I thought; why not keep on
playing oboe? I figured that I could actually do something within the music industry while enjoying
my job. I could become a professional oboist, I could play in movies, the Grammy s, TV shows, or
video game soundtracks.

Different people will disagree about the veracity of this statement, but we know that it does not reflect the experiences of the majority of young people (Collins 1). Sexual education is a mandatory part of every grade school curriculum and is funded by the federal government. • 4. The War Against The Soviet War Throughout the 1940s and 1960s the United States engaged in a Cold War against the USSR, with both sides having access to nuclear weapons escalating any further would mean mutually assured destruction; since neither nation could use traditional weapons instead they engaged in an ideological war. During this time America employed many different tactics to both vilify communism and present itself as the antithesis of everything it stood for, they fought by proxy with propaganda to promote fear and mistrust. This psychological warfare would lead to significant changes in religion, as America presented itself as a God fearing nation to combat the USSR s status as atheist, society, with American culture being warped to display its stance against communism and inspire a sense of fear towards it from the populace, and technology as both America and the USSR rushed to be the first to reach milestones in an attempt to ultimately prove their own ascendancy. In an effort to appear as anticommunist as possible the nature of America s views on religion vastly changed; patriotism would become synonymous with Christianity. President Eisenhower urged people to attend church claiming that it was their patriotic duty and, despite not having joined a church in any official capacity until the year 1953, decidedly refereed to himself as the most deeply religious man I know . Furthermore, courts would also begin ruling in favor of certain religious practices; reading the bible, prayer, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On May 5, 1885 his father died of tuberculosis leaving 8 dollars to the family s name at the age of eleven. While married at the age of twenty one, four of his six children died through their suicide or disease. Irma, Frost s fourth child, out lived frost in a mental hospital. His younger sister Jeanie also bound in a mental hospital had passed in 1929. Lesley, the second child of Frost, out lived Frost, marrying twice and wrote a few children books. Unfortunately, Frost continued to endure loss when his mother and his wife, Elinor, developed cancer passing soon after the diagnosis. Discovering more of Frost s past life, it s no surprise that most of his poems revolve around the five stages of grief and loss. In understanding the process of grief , the poem The Road Not Taken seems to implement the stage of acceptance. In the first stanza, we are approached with two decisions in a yellow wood , yellow meaning intellect, energy and wisdom . While Wood meaning tree, implying growth or a rapid increase in something. Tree s usually turn yellow in the fall, the season fall meaning death or dying, typically referring to a tragedy. It contains culture, traditions, and is shared with others. Quentin Tarantino s movie, Pulp Fiction, briefly brings light to the importance and uniqueness of food from different cultures. There is a scene where two men, Vincent and Jules, sit in a car having small talk about food in Europe. Parts of their conversation, however, contain some very resonant discussions of food, place, and identity. Vincent: But you know what the funniest thing about Europe is? Jules: What? According to a research paper written by Martin Lindstrom, Branding is all about building emotional ties between consumer and product. (pg. 85) Emotional connections are made with the synergy of all five senses, and such those brands that are communicating from a multi sensory brand platform have the greatest likelihood of forming emotional connections between consumers and their product. (pg. 84); Food and Beverage companies exploit this fact to sell their products. Consider the Kellogg s breakfast cereal that goes snap, crackle, and pop: Rice Crispies. Researchers at a specialized Danish laboratories worked to create the particular sound and feel of the crunch was identifiably Kellogg s. (pg. 85). The crunch, smell, and taste, of the cereal is accompanied by the tactile feel in your mouth pairing all five senses into one bite. Without the simultaneous stimulation of multiple sensory receptors, however, the cereal would not be as memorable. Take watching a scary movie for example. Visuals paired with audio make for a very scary movie, but if you turn the audio off, suddenly the movie isn t so scary anymore. What we have learned from Kellogg s is that their success lies in mastering the synergy of all five senses. Food can stimulate all five senses at the same time to bring back past memories. • 7. Nature And Nature In Coleridge s Frost At Midnight Coleridge often explores the relationship between humanity and nature in his poetry. These two groups are unified in his conversation poem Frost at Midnight , and allow the reader into his internal thoughts. He meditates on comparisons by pairing the magical appearance of frost on the windowpane to how his thoughts are in flux and reflux. Coleridge shows how the thinking of the mind mirrors nature and how repeating patterns reveal universal aspects of poetry, thoughts, and nature. Coleridge makes use of the repetitive patterns in nature and uses them to capture the mind s movement. The structure of the poem uses frost as a guide. Similar to how frost propagates itself, the poem contains organic, repeating fractal patterns with small variations within them. These patterns exist throughout nature in honeycombs, mountains, clouds, and leaves. Furthermore, the speaker of the poem, Coleridge, and his infant son, Hartley reflect the idea of repetition. Repetition exists as Hartley is a replica of Coleridge as children can be seen as versions of their parents. However, Coleridge also points out how he and his son are different as well. Coleridge wants his son to be intimately familiar with nature, writing With tender gladness, thus to look at thee, / And think that thou shalt learn far other lore / And in far other scenes! (lines 49 51). Coleridge will make sure that his son will enjoy nature and not have the experience he had in the city. The repetitive nature and movement of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Implementing Generic And Generic Drugs INTRODUCTION Over the last few years, the United States Supreme Court has struggled to determine when a manufacturer is liable, and should be held accountable, for violating the duty to warn consumers about the dangers associated with brand and generic drugs through their labeling. Further, the Court has grappled with determining which channels are available to consumers when a drug manufacturer breaches their duty. The Court has struggled to define the distinction, if any, between generic and branded drugs in terms of state tort liability and failure to warn claims. In Wyeth v. Levine, the Court decided that the FDA s drug labeling requirements for brand drugs do not preempt state tort claims related to the dissemination of safety information. In essence, brand name manufacturers will be held liable for failure to update their warning labels in an effective and efficient manner. Just two short years later, the Court contradicts its decision in Wyeth, and defines a distinction for generic drug products, which applies federal preemption principles in Pliva v. Mensing. French Baroque 1600 1750 Europe in the 1600s was at the end of Counter Reformation, and as the political and cultural shifts took place, we begin to see art, particularly in France, influenced more and more, by the ruling monarchy. The transition from Mannerism into Baroque is not clear, but eventually the arts started to adopt a new look. And feel. Paintings started to become more exuberant, dynamic and ornamented. The light is always obscured by another element in the painting, which gives it a more dramatic, more human feel, with greater depth. The emotional effect of this is very intimate and human. The duplicitous nature of shadow and light in a La Tour painting could be seen as a metaphor for the good and bad contained within human nature. It is also vague enough to be open to multiple interpretations. In any interpretation this duality is almost given more importance than the subject matter. The personality of Nicolas Poussin was contrary to La Tour, though both were very rational and humanistic. Poussin sought to enter into the person of his subject, to become immersed in psychological analysis. He combines his love of virtue and his love of landscape by placing tragic figures in richly interesting and complexly constructed, heroic landscapes. He produced some of the most demanding, yet satisfying landscape paintings in western culture. He believed passionately that the disposition of the painting as a whole could be constructed to covey a mood or emotion. He also had a unique combination of pagan and Christian themes, often giving a poetic treatment to subjects from classic mythology and ancient history. • 17. Bob Dylan And The American Civil Rights And Anti War... Bob Dylan (/ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer songwriter, artist and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when his songs chronicled social unrest, although Dylan repudiated suggestions from journalists that he was a spokesman for his generation. Nevertheless, early songs such as Blowin in the Wind and The Times They Are a Changin became anthems for the American civil rights and anti war movements. After he left his initial base in the American folk music revival, his six minute single Like a Rolling Stone altered the range of popular music in 1965. His mid 1960s recordings, backed by rock musicians, reached the top end of the United States music charts while also attracting denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement. Dylan s lyrics have incorporated various political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed to the burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the performances of Little Richard, and the songwriting of Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, Dylan has amplified and personalized musical genres. Module QF5000 essay HISTORICAL AND INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES OF EARLY YEARS By Linda Fuller The purpose of this assignment is to critique and evaluate the chosen article in terms of strengths and weakness and to demonstrate an understanding of an international educational approach to Early Years education. In addition it will explore the similarities and differences of the international approach to the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) working within my setting. (Soler and Miller 2010, p. 60) Throughout my career I have worked within settings that do not comply to a national curriculum as there was none, and also within settings that did. It was in 1996 that the first UK curriculum was introduced which was called Desirable Outcomes . Within the document were learning outcomes to be achieved by all children by the age of five and being a centralised system, an inspection scheme was also introduced. In this article Soler and Miller (2010) highlight how these changes were perceived to be shaping the early childhood curriculum from the outside rather than from within the early childhood community. On the opposite side of the continuum, the Reggio Emilia approach is a programme that is centred on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community. It is based on the interests of the children through a self guided curriculum with no early learning goals or inspections. The article then goes on to explain how in 1999 new curriculum guidance was introduced in the UK which was entitled Early Learning Goals . It was later developed to bring in six learning areas and stepping stones that led each child towards an early learning goal. Soler and Miller (2010) research this statement further and write, that in structuring the curriculum and its assessment in this manner, the policy makers have made assumptions about where the levels begin and end for all children. I think these challenges could have been covered if the slide would have been narrated. ● Early adopters were depicted in the Business Model Canvas, but it would have been great to hear why Medical Students and young music and sports stars would have taken to the App and why they would have been advocates of the business. ● As specified in the proposal, narration wasn t recorded over every single slide. ● The brand mission and purpose were unique, but I felt it would have been interesting to understand how MindSight would have been positioned and would appeal to the target audience, creating an authentic experience. Then my story with Caser Chavez starts from here, and I think it would be very useful if I start to describe the historical path of Modern Mexican American movement in order to make a sense of Chavez legacy. From different historical resource we learned that the origins of Mexican Americans in the United States today go back to the days of the Spanish who first came to Mexico and then expanded north into the Southern United States, especially into the Southwest. While The Mexican Revolution in 1810 drove the Spanish out of Mexico and Mexican territory, the Mexican War from 1846 to 1848 ended Mexican control of the Southwest, and this is what explains the process of forming another American minority that so called Mexican Americans, and like any other minority of that era, they suffered losing power, land, and wealth. To stand against inequality, injustice, and discrimination, we, as Mexican Americans, formed different organizations that to take a collective actions in order to achieve our goals of equality, justice, and civil rights. For example the Confederacion de Uniones de Obreros Mexicanos (CUOM) was formed in 1927 in Los Angeles. It proved to be the first really stable organization among Mexican workers. After observing how Cohen derived his figures we came up with our own WACC, terminal value, and EPS. Cohen broke down his calculations into five parts 1) Single or Multiple Costs of Capital 2) Proportion of capital from debt and equity 3) Cost of Debt 4) Cost of Equity 5) WACC In part one; we disagreed with Cohen where he decided to value the company as a whole instead of valuing each division separately. Since Nike is a multidivisional firm Cohen should of aggregated the values of the individual divisions and calculate a different cost of capital for each one. Since the exhibit 1 ... We used the L T growth in exhibit 4, which is forecast of dividend growth at 5.50%. Therefore the new terminal value is 41,584. He founded a concept that would be built upon for many years to come. Augustine argued that war was sometimes sadly an unfortunate necessity to preserve order in society. McCellend notes how ‘the original condition of man s soul was innocence but since the Fall the soul has been tainted and is thus incapable of achieving goodness. The soldier is therefore not guilty if the war he engages in is unjust but instead it is the sole fault of the ruler. Are you measuring your social media activities? As a business, you definitely should be, but many don t. According to a recent report, only 42% of business surveyed stated that they were able to measure their social activities. When you spend money on advertising, you should be paying attention to your return on investment (ROI). However, in 2014, only 37% of business said they were able to measure this figure. Compare that number to the 87% of businesses who said they planned to increase their time and money investment on social media, and you can see that there is an issue with those figures. Many businesses using social media today don t know what it is doing for them, but they continue to spend time and money on those platforms. Would you spend money on a diet meal service but never get on a scale to see if you are making improvements in your health and weight? Blindly spending money on Facebook without tracking your results is essentially the same thing. Wouldn t you like to have a successful marketing strategy that allows you to see positive results? • 28. Persuasive Essay On Self Defense Self Defense is widely known as a universal principle that allows a person to protect themselves under appropriate circumstances; Yet appropriate circumstances goes far beyond its counterparts. In many cases, victims are accused instead of the violator, even though they intended to rob and/or murder. Even though many walk away without punishment there are a ton of cases that should not be overlooked. It sounds as if the definition is plain and simple, but what is the level of force that goes beyond the sufficient level allowed? Most people tend to think that Self Defense should be the last resort and should never reach the level of murder, but it should be redefined as a mechanism acceptable when the victim s life is threatened for a reasonable cause, because many are charged for murder even though the attack was protection from harm. By reinforcing the government s definition of self defense, citizens would have an easier time differentiating between a reasonable cause or deadly violence. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A good way to look at your subconscious is like the gas in your car that you drive. You obviously know that there is gas in your car thanks to the fuel gauge and the fact that you physically pumped and paid for it at the gas station; but when you turn the key and start your car you cannot see the gas functioning to power the vehicle, and you don t really think about everything that it does to make your car function while on your way down the road. A subliminal stimulus is found in this subconscious section of our mind because they operate below the invisible line of what you are presently aware of and are able to interpret by your subconscious (Biology Online, 2014). The first understanding that there may be something other than our conscious that could influence us came from a man named Sir Francis Galton in 1879. This belief would latter go on to inspire much of Freud s theories of human behavior like the Freudian Slip, a time when unconscious though gets blurted out during inappropriate circumstances (Gazzaniga, 2016). Since Galton and Freud take on our subconscious we have advanced further to realize the term subliminal advertising. • 41. The Expansion Of The Frontier And The Relationship Among... Unforgiven and Stagecoach The film Stagecoach incorporated the expansion of the frontier and the relationship among the Native Americans. The film starts with a wide view of an open valley to show the vast plain and the open frontier, introducing and getting an idea of the setting. The movie was interesting in the sense that it had more social commentary than most films. An article was written by Thomas Myers explaining the film and the unique social commentary of the film Stagecoach by stating, it depicted a sub community of individuals each representing a distinct social status in western history, and that this clash of classes and misfit characters provide a perfect set up for social commentary about diverse societies. The western hero possesses a sense of resilience that allows him to outsmart a group of outlaws. In earlier western films, Native Americans were viewed as savages and ethnic groups were viewed as ignorant due to the lack of political correctness. Like most early western films, violence was utilized in place of punishment for bad men, and as Thomas Myers said in his article about the comparison of western films, was a means for restoring order to the community. African Americans were not added to the cast of characters in Stagecoach, but during the early expansion of the western frontier, there were African American cowboys and other settlers that came from many ethnic groups. Another example of ignorance expressed in minority groups is the portrayal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Constitutional principles are a position from which we operate justly. However, what constitutes as just? This notion is evident throughout the development of constitutional doctrines in Greek democracy, Aristotle s political theory, Roman Republicanism, and English Constitutionalism. What Aristotle called Polity was based on political power and the best practical government. This notion differed from Ancient Greek democracy. During the 4th Century B.C, Aristotle rose as a critic of direct democracy based on two grounds: are all individuals qualified to govern? Should we select a few individuals who are fit for leadership? Bernard Crick writes, while democracy was for him a necessary condition for good government, it was far from a sufficient condition (Crick 1). Aristotle had a negative outlook on human nature. This led to his belief on how a government system should rule and the dismissal of a direct democracy. Similarly to Ancients, Aristotle believed that a direct democracy would only crumble. For this reason, he introduced Checks and balances . Checks and balances gave limited power to each branch of power and to the people. He identified his a polity by representative government, balanced government, and a mixed government. Representative government is one ruled by a leader . And yet, he questioned the idea of placing trust in the hands of the uneducated, incompetent. More importantly, he believed that in order to be a leader, one must meet the five characteristics to be considered a leader . The characteristics required: intelligence, knowledge, experience, wisdom, and virtue. It was especially important for one to attain wisdom because that is the end result of knowledge ... What I want to be able to do is to change the lives of people with the same materials they deal with every day , Muniz stated in film Wasteland. The film Wasteland, directed by Lucy Walker, tracks the development of Muniz series of monumental photographic portraits made from trash. The Farnese Atlas is an enormous sculpture standing at seven feet tall and is currently located at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, in Italy. Although their actual form and matter are different, both the Atlas and The Farnese Atlas are similar in the way that both paintings portray a male character with a serious or stern expression, carrying a large spherical burden or load on their shoulders.
