Peter Pan Reflection
Altering Tink Sam Taylor (CEO), once said, If we aren t willing to change and keep up with
innovation someone else will. If someone isn t motivated to move forward and create new ideas,
there will be someone else that will succeed in their place. People need change sometime, or their
lives would be dull, static, and boring. Change is crucial to a person s life to show dynamic
differences in their characteristics. It is important for people to be flexible and open minded in
different experiences to handle future circumstances. Change is the key to determine one s future.
In J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan, the character Tinker Bellis dynamic as illustrated by her words, actions,
and motivations. To start, Tinker Bell is shown to be dynamic depicted through her unkind
words. An example of this from the book is when Tink treats Wendy offensively by calling her
ugly: He had to translate. She is not very polite. She says you are a great ugly girl, and that she is
my fairy(Barrie 27). Tinker Bell is shown to be uncivil and boorish towards Wendy by calling her
ugly. As a perfect antagonist, she creates tension and suspense in the story with her threats
towards Wendy. Without remorse, Tink doesn t even apologize to Wendy. With this type of
behavior, she shows her nasty side, her lack of concern for her feelings, and how she may have
hurt them. However, while Tinker Bell expressed in words, her more cruel side, being churlish
towards Wendy, that doesn t represent her whole self. Next, Tinker Bell illustrates her dynamic
self through her actions towards other characters, like Peter. For instance, when Tink plays the
role of protagonist towards Peter by saving his life: No time for words now; time for deeds;and
with one of her lightning movements Tink got between his lips and the draught, and drained it
to the dregs (121). Tink flew in front of Peter s lips before he could drink the poison knowing it
could kill either Peter or herself depending on who drank it. Tinker Bell shows a caring and
selfless side through an action that could kill her, but her love for Peter was so strong, she had no
choice. This makes her a protagonist. All in all, she was Peter s hero that night, and this explains
how Tink is not

My First Week Of Self Led Tutoring Sessions Essay
Going into my first week of self led tutoring sessions, I was extremely anxious due to the high
expectations I placed on myself. I wanted to be able to every rule regarding grammar, confident
as recognizing errors concerning a poorly organized essay or weak thesis. In addition to these
expectations, I was also worried that I would come off as demeaning to the studentor incapable of
explain why the student made an error. I wanted to establish my authority, while also ensuring that
all of my students felt like they learned something new or got clarity on something they were
confused about. As a began tutoring, I realized that my demeanor in the writingsessions, should
have been the least of my concerns. Most of my students, engaged in the writing session, felt
free to ask questions, or even laughed in the session. I think that was in part to me not taking
myself too seriously in the sessions. I naturally compliment my students, and leave most of my
anxieties behind. I encourage my students to not be reserved or afraid to tell me if they are
confused, by being as transparent as possible. This means that during several times in the
session I will ask or say, Did that make sense, You look a little confused. Let me explain that in
another way, or I m sorry if I confused you before. However, I must admit that it took me some
time to accept that I can be transparent in my writing sessions. I was worried about how I should
direct the sessions; how much I should advise them

Second Messenger Research Paper
Second messengers and their actions
Second messengers are intracellular molecules that transmit received signs at receptors on the cell
surface to the target molecules. They also, expand strength of signals.
Second messenger are classified into three major classes:
1)Cyclic nucleotides.
2)Inositol triphosphate IP3 and diacylglycerol DAG.
3)Calcium ions Ca3+.
Common mechanism of second messenger system:
There are several different secondary messenger systems, but they all are quite similar in overall
mechanism, although the substances involved and overall effects can vary.
This conformation change can affect the activity of the receptor and result in the production of
active second messages.

Peptides and protein hormones like: (vasopressin, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), and
angiotensin) and neurotransmitters like GABA bind to G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs).
That binding activates the intracellular enzyme phospholipase C (PLC).
The intracellular enzyme phospholipase C (PLC) hydrolyzes phospholipids specifically
phosphatidylinositol 4,5 bisphosphate (PIP2) which is found in the inner layer of the plasma
membrane. this Hydrolysis of PIP2 yields two products:
Inositol trisphosphate (IP3) .

IP3 is soluble molecule that at first diffuses through the cytosol, then it binds binds to receptors on
the endoplasmic reticulum which as a result cause the release of calcium ions (Ca2+) into the
cytosol.
The final result is elevating in the intracellular calcium which itself triggers the

Analysis of Barbie-Q by Sandra Cisneros Essay
Analysis of Barbie Q by Sandra Cisneros
Cisneros Barbie Q really stood out as a great piece of literature. Barbie Q is a quick glimpse into
the life of a poverty stricken child and her way of life. Though my life as of yet has been rather
short, my earliest childhood memories are overwhelmingly my fondest and her account really
struck a chord. Sandra Cisneros accurate reflection of a young mind and intricate writing methods
expressed great emotion. Her portrayal of a child s mentality evoked my childhood recollections
while her realistic tale of childhood bliss in the midst of poverty caused great empathy on my part
making this my preferred work we studied.
Sandra s tale brought back much nostalgia for my younger days. Those ... Show more content on

Skipping , humming , loopity loops , and pirouetting are silly things that everyone has done as a
child, including myself. These reminders set me in a time machine back to my favorite days
when the only thing important to me was my own happiness. Another less obvious reflection of
a puerile mind is the same story . In this tale of a young girl s game, Sandra Cisneros refers to a
pretend play the girls have made up for their Barbie s to act out. This play is referred to as the
same story and really hit on what childhood playtime was all about. I remember doing the exact
same thing as a child with my brothers (except we were cops and robbers), where we played out
the same actions over and over, day after day. Cisneros recognized this to be common to all
children and smartly places it for the reader to reflect on their past, as I did on my own. Sandra
Cisneros evokes great sympathy for her characters, which added to my favor of the story. In a
first few sentences, Sandra has already revealed to the reader the poor social status of the young
girls and continues to do so throughout the tale. She particularly points out their pauper way of
life by repeating the small amount of toys the young girls have. She mentions all the girls could
afford was one extra outfit apiece then one paragraph later recalls again our one outfit apiece .
Also, Cisneros touches on the sock dress the girls made

Compare And Contrast Allorganic Vs Osteopathic
There is more than one type of doctorate in the medical field. A physician can earn either an
allopathic (MD) or an osteopathic (DO) degree. An allopathic degree is the more traditional form of
medical education that focuses on treating and eliminating disease with medicines. An osteopathic
education focuses more on holistic medicine, preventing disease and an additional 300 to 500 hours
of hands on musculoskeletal manipulation training (Medline Plus). The philosophy between the
two paths may differ, but at the end of either path is a fully qualified doctor. My mother is family
physicianand a doctor of osteopathy or DO. My father is a cardiologist and a medical doctor or
MD. Even though one is an osteopathic physician and the other an allopathic physician, they have
both had very similar experiences. To become a physician, whether allopathic or osteopathic,
requires similar education, training, certification, and motivation. Both allopathic and osteopathic
physicians are required to have the same basic education. They are required to graduate from
college with a bachelor s degree. My mother has a bachelor s degree with a double major in
biology and chemistry, and my father has a bachelors in premed biochemistry. It does not have to

Argumentative Essay Naps
It is evident that short naps have many benefits. However, long naps are not as good as short
naps because waking up on a long nap makes it hard to sleep at night. Furthermore, it makes
people groggy. Short naps can help many people who are sleep deprived or just want the
benefits that napping comes with. Napping can improve mental performance, health, and the
body s internal clock. Naps are very beneficial to mental performance, so sleepy people going to
work should take naps. According to Source #2, Mark Rosekind of NASA, who conducted the
research, stated that even a 26 minute nap boosted a pilot s mental performance by 34%. (Allegra

Jung The Collective Unconscious
The unconscious is an aspect of the human psyche that still baffles psychologist today. In our
unconscious, we potentially contain repressed memories, desires, and behaviors. The individual
unconsciously executes many of the behaviors or desires. However, there is more to the
unconscious than our personal memories and behaviors. Carl G. Jung, a psychologist, was one of
Freud s friends and student. Jung diverged from Freud because his perception that the unconscious
mainly contains repressed memories. Freud had his understanding of these instinctual behaviors,
but mostly dismissed the concept as insignificant. Although, Freud did not particularly accept the
collective unconscious, Jung developed his theories despite disapproval. Jung explains... Show more

These fundamental images have lasted since the far reaches of time. The archetypal images are
concepts regarding nature, interpersonal relationships, religion, and a whole range of other aspects
of human society. For example, we all innately understand the concept of water. This is something
that we are not taught or trained to know and accept. Nevertheless, the idea of water in dreams and
visions has held meaning for men all throughout history. The individual may not be conscious of the
significance from water. Over the course of Jung s life, he studied thousands of dreams comparing
and contrasting their significances and found many common themes, like the concept of water.
Now to be clear the archetypal images are only representations of the inherent archetypes. These
images are not archetypes themselves; they are the experienced expression of the archetype. The
archetype itself is an inherited mode of psychic functioning analogous to inherited behavior
patterns. (Sills, 1968) Therefore, fairy tales and myths are representations of these innate modes of
psychic functioning. Carl Jung understood that we all have these archetypal images in our lives, but
an individual can

Concepts Associated with Tourism Developments in Blackpool...
This report explores the theoretical concepts associated with tourism, leisure and hospitality
developments in Blackpool. It also looks at the economic, social, political and environmental
impacts of tourism. There are a variety of reasons why Blackpool has been developed as a tourist
resort, and it has many historical sites of interest including the beach and BlackpoolTower. It also
has a variety of leisure activities. Blackpool also offers a wide range of accommodation and
restaurant options. It is a very accessible location, with airports, railway stations and main roads all
located within the area.

I will also discuss how Blackpool has responded to International tourism, and how it has dealt with
a decline of tourists in recent years. I will also look at the different managerial strategies that
Blackpool has enforced to try and regenerate its declining tourist numbers; including the variety of
marketing strategies it has tried in order to attract different tourists.
There are many factors that can affect the growth of tourism in a certain area. This can include
the location of the site, how accessible it is, or the amenities that the site has to offer. Tourism
trends are ever changing, with different areas of the market always in growth or decline. Due to
changing circumstances of British tourists, this has influenced the way we travel and the places
that we now visit for holidays. A variety of factors including; increased car ownership, improved
education, improved health and fitness, and a tendency to travel further have all affected how we
travel and where to. This has resulted in national holidays facing a decline in tourism and an
increase in holidays abroad. Moutinho s theory was that trends would change due to certain factors
affecting tourists. This includes Globalisation, Technological acceleration as well as exploration.
All these ideas would result in tourists travelling to previously unexplored destinations that were
out of the ordinary and very different to the type of holidays being bought in the 1950 s. With

Why Is Phineas Gage Lucky
Phineas Gage, Lucky or Unlucky?
Survivors of traumatic brain injury are lucky. Two examples of lucky traumatic brain injury
survivors are Phineas Gage and Gary Busey. These two are lucky along with the other millions of
traumatic brain injury survivors. Phineas Gage and Gary Busey were both lucky because they
were given a second chance at life. In addition both narrowly evaded death. Phineas Gage, a
traumatic brain injury survivor, was lucky. The first reason Phineas Gage was lucky is that the
tamping iron that went through his head took a path that did not kill him. Phineas could have died
in over twenty different ways if the tamping iron had taken a different path through his head. I
know this because in the book Phineas Gage it states

Understanding The Attitudes Of Others
Understanding the attitudes of others is critical in attempting persuasion. In the elaboration
likelihood model (ELM), persuasion splits into two routes: peripheral and central routes. These
routes determine the course of decision making; both are dependent on the individual s ability
and motivation (Gilovich et al., 2013). The proverb, you can lead a horse to water, but you can t
make him drink, is an assumption in that certain individuals will never change their attitudes. If
the proverb were true, then persuasion would have no credibility; so, this research paper will
dispute the proverb. There are ways to persuade and influence others, even if they are as stubborn
as the horse that will not drink. By reviewing past research on persuasion, resistance to persuasion,
persistence of change, and the effects of involvement on persuasion, this paper will give support
that certain methods can be done to change attitudes, leading to a higher chance of persuasion. Our
experiences and the experiences of those around us help create the beliefs which assist our decision
making. There are those individuals that strongly hold true to their personal beliefs and those who
feel uncertain towards their beliefs. Swann, Pelham and Chidester s (1988) research attempted to
change the beliefs of those individuals resistant to persuasion (Swann et al., 1988). They
constructed questions which remained consistent with the beliefs of the individual but, more
towards an extremist point of view.

The Issues Of Antibiotics Misuse
In NURN 422, I researched and discussed the serious implications of antibiotics misuse, and
explored ways to educate patients (and parents in pediatrics) about their proper use in order to
counteract the long term problem it is creating.
In recent years, overuse of antibiotics have been in the spotlight due to the fact that bacterial
infections are becoming resistant (Centers for Disease Control Prevention [CDC], 2014). The
healthcare industry s inappropriate prescribing habits have been a significant part of the problem.
This includes prescribing antibiotics as a just in case basis, prescription based on symptom criteria,
patients demanding for a fast relief of symptoms, and unsuitable use of broad spectrum antibiotics
without determining if there is an actual clinical need for it (CDC, 2011). Having knowledge of
what is being treated, educating providers, patients and parents of pediatric patients on the use of
these medications will have a major impact on lowering abuse and/or overuse of antibiotics. Nurses
can and should be at the forefront of this issue and take a lead in the education of patients and
parents.

Behind Closed Doors In Girl By Jamaica Kincaid
After diving much into the short story, Girl by Jamaica Kincaid, a casual reader would
nonchalantly read this short story, and observe the strict mentoring or teaching aspect. Like
most stories there should be a sense of curiosity when we read them. Inspecting this story on a
more personal level has opened many doors of speculation. Applying the phrase behind closed
doors literally, we are going to dive deeper into the story. Looking not only at the story itself, but
also finding nits and bits of the story that gives a larger insight on the writer and her intentions. As
briefly stated before, the story leans more towards the strict aspect. It involves a young girl, a

Kincaid, being from the two Caribbean island of Antigua and Barbuda, is basically Caribbean.
Which could give the story more of a different feel, depending on where it takes place. Being
raised in a Caribbean household, and having mostly Caribbean friends, I was widely exposed to
this lifestyle. The parents were harsher towards their children, when punishing or giving lectures.
Another point which gives hint to the Caribbean viewpoint is the phrase that comes up in the
story. Which says but I don t sing benna on Sundays at all and never in Sunday school. Two point
of views come out of this, one being the idea of benna, which is simply Calypso music. Which is a
music that originated in the Caribbean islands. Another being the emphasis on the day of Sunday.
Minor sentence, but gives a lot of information in the few words it gives. Growing up my mother not
only spoke about church, but emphasized going on Sundays, which is different for many different
backgrounds. Jewish being a prime example, considering they attend temple on Saturday. So taking
into consideration the author and key terms used in the story, it could point to a culture. And with
culture comes a lifestyle and practice which should be taken into much consideration when reading

When a couple of marketing managers for Coca Cola told attorney Elizabeth Finn Johnson that
they wanted to sue their Coke Zero colleagues for taste infringement, she was baffled. She tried to

Considered the quintessential work of German Expressionist films, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari
(1920) remains one of the most influential films of both German cinema and the silent film era.
The iconic visual style of Caligari embodies the element of revolt that is accepted to be the basis
of Expressionism, which is defined as a total revolt against the existing order both in terms of style
and idea, society and the individual, art and ethics (Barlow 18). Caligari makes use of the mise en

Caligari set the standard of the movement in film, fulfilling a number of expectations theorists had
for this transition of mediums; the set represents an emotional landscape, a projection of the
intense feelings of the main character, exaggerated acting with an extreme degree of emotional
intensity serves as a silent visual replacement of the outcry and exclamation of expressionistic
poetry and theater, and, to replace the vibrant colors of Expressionist art, there are considerable
contrasts between light and shadow (Barlow 25). All of these visual aspects made Caligari the
most noteworthy of German Expressionist films, and was more than likely the inspiration for the
film noir style that emerged several decades later. The limitations of sound and color do not detract
from Caligari s ability to visually express common themes of Weimar Germany, most prominently
those of authority, insanity, and duality. Such themes are expressed so prominently that it has led
many to interpret the film as a close examination of society in the Weimar Republic and the
implications the film had for Germany s future. Nevertheless, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligaricertainly
influenced the revival of the Expressionist movement through film, and its influence stands the test

What Is The Meaning Of I Taste A Liquor Never Brewed
Emily Dickinson was born in 1830 in Massachusetts. To this day, she is considered to be one of
the most influential American poets of all time. I taste a liquor never brewed has been said to
be Emily Dickinson s best poem she ever wrote. It is said to be her best poem because of the
complexity of the poem. She wrote with an obvious rhyme scheme and expresses superb imagery
throughout her poem. This poem also shows how early editors diminished the strength of
Dickinson s verse (Forman, Robert J.). The third and sixteenth lines of her poem, I taste a liquor
never brewed has been changed multiple time by editors throughout the years to what they
believed fit better than what she had written originally lines. The first change was the third line
with The first would substitute Vats upon the Rhine for Frankfort Berries and the next change was
with the sixteenth lines with Leaning against the sun for Manzanilla come! (Dorinson, Zahava
Karl). Overall, this is definitely her greatest poem she has ever written because of the vivid
imagery and apparent rhyme scheme. Dickinson s poems often do not have a title. The only
reason her poem is called I taste a liquor never brewed is because modern... Show more content on

continues with her symbolism with turn the drunken Bee meaning the bee is drunk on pollen. In
this stanza, she is using various metaphors to emphasize the fact that she will not stop drinking.
She uses these metaphors because these natural acts of nature will probably never stop, so she
will probably never stop drinking. We know this is what she means because at the end of this
stanza, she says, I shall but drink the more , meaning she will stop when they stop the actions
previously expressed. The stanza has very high quality symbols that are placed and used well in the

Toni Cade Bambara’s Black Female Champions Essay
Toni Cade Bambara s Black Female Champions
It is well known from historical accounts, novels, poems, movies, and other sources that blacks have
been abused, neglected, and mistreated in American society. In addition, a great deal has been
written about the lives, hardships, and obstacles of black men.
Black women, however, have long been relegated to subordinate societal roles in relation to white
men and women and black men. Black women have been viewed as monsters and suffered
distortions of their image. Toni Cade Bambara, in her writings, has helped to change the image of
black women. Bambara presents a very descriptive picture of what life was like for blacks,

The following statistics illustrate Ms. Lincoln s point. According to the Statistical Abstract of the
United States: 1996, in 1983, 512,000 individuals were employed as cleaners and servants. Of that
total, 95.8% were female. Black females comprised 42.4% of the total of all females working in
those occupations (407). In the category of maids and housemen, in 1983, 531,000 individuals
provided these services. Females made up 83.1% of the total. Black females comprised 32.3% of
the total of all females working as maids (407).
Toni Cade Bambara was very aware of the black environment and of black female experiences. In
the foreword to the book Black Women Writers at Work, Tillie Olsen states that black women
writers, such as Toni Cade Bambara, make us profoundly conscious of what harms, degrades,
denies development, destroys; of how much is unrealized, unlived; instead of oppressed victims,
they tell of the ways of resistances, resiliences (x xi).
Bambara was born in New York City, raised by her mother, and educated at Queens College. She
was a teacher, lecturer, and political activist ( Bambara, Toni Cade ). In an interview with Beverly
Guy Sheftall, Bambara talked about her life, her family, and the issues of the black race, women,

My Life Has Changed My Outlook On Life
It happened a year ago this past October, and I can still remember every little detail of it. My life
literally got turned upside down; I was in a car accident. As traumatic as the accident was it
changed my outlook on life in a positive way, however, I wish it did not have to come down to
that in order for me to figure things out. It made me realizehow things could change in an instant
and that all those things you never thought could happen to you actually can. But I also realized
how much I love life. Life and all the good and bad things in it are a gift that we should not take
for granted.
It was a typical Saturday night in October, Halloween was just around the corner. Three friends
and I were headed to a corn maze. It was supposed to be a fun night, until we turned onto a dirt
road and in an instant everything changed. The driver hit a washboard patch on the road and lost
control of the car. I felt the car jerk left and right and looked up from the backseat at the driver.
Her hands were tight on the steering wheel turning it left and right trying to regain control of the
car. We were sliding and I felt the car drop off the road. I closed my eyes tight afraid to witness
what was about to happen next.
It is amazing all the things you can see with your eyes closed. We rolled three times and all
though it all happened so fast it seemed like it was never going to end. I felt like a doll being
thrown around with no control over my body. I could only try to process what

The Good Ghanaian Society While the end of that search [of the Good Society] remains elusive,
I am convinced that the search itself isn t illusive. James O toole What constitutes a good society

speak different tongues, desire different ends, and have different basic assumptions about where
the Ghanaian society, and the corporations we work in, should be heading. Despite this
kaleidoscope of opinions, fortunately there is a unifying point of agreement: the task of every

This ideology encompasses principles that pertain to both political and economic liberty. The
fundamental Libertarian principle recognizes equal rights to freedom which is representative of
the essence of human liberty. The genesis of liberty can be traced from Aristotle who believed in
rulership by the small class of freemen and equals. Plato on the other hand was no lover of liberty

The Children And Where Are You Going
In the stories The Children and Where are You Going, Where Have You Been, both authors
captivates their audience through similar contexts. Both authors intrigued the audiences of
juveniles because their characters consist of ages between 13 to 18. They reached out to the
younger generations to teach a lesson of how quickly one could become lost within society. Society
makes a person lose value in their culture and familyvirtue.
The Children of Julie Otsuka, took place from the fields of Japan to the wide open range of North
America. Japanese mothers wanted a better life for their offspring so they took their belongings and
left their spouse. Mothers not only packed their personal items, but their cultural traditions as well.

Consequently, Japanese children did not want to be a Japanese native anymore when they

unemployment reactions to changes in the labor force in Switzerland using data from 1965 to

rate of labor force change and inflationrate.
AMINU (2012) investigated the relationship between unemployment and inflation in Nigeria

World Is Flat
In the video/summary of The world is flat by Friedman,. he was supporting globalization in the
21st century and he ignored the negative side of it. In his case, the term World is flat refers to the
leveling of the playing field between the economic dynamics of the West and the rising economic
powers of India and China. Friedman s idea is that because of huge improvements in technological
advances, the society is becoming more and more exceptional. He didn t to take into consideration
the realities concerning the fact that in society, for such a system to work with any kind of

The hunt for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions, Dwight D. Eisenhower. You can
see from this that he is trying to relay the message that when you re looking for blame, there are
many people to cast it on. This idea is relative to the Salem Witch Trials and the McCarthy trials
because the supposed witches and communists were just scapegoats for the fear that the common
man had. In the Witch Trials, there were 19 people hung, guilty of not confessing and naming
names of other people preforming witchcraft. Joesph McCarthy of McCarthyism blacklisted
hundreds of Americans, those who failed to name names were later accompanied by

Fixed-Price-Incentive Feed Contract
The fixed price incentive fee contract has ceiling price, which is expected to cover all potential
risk. After the allocated budget for the project is solidified then the profit sharing formula is put
into place. This profit sharing formula will help contractors to focus on controlling cost and
meeting project objectives in reasonable time line.
An example of fixed price incentive fee contract would be building a private Catholic school with
required performance requirements. The contractors will have incentives of completing the project
within the allocated budget and reaching performance goals. In this example, the fixed price
incentive fee contract will have a $5,000.00 incentive if contractors finished within projects
objective specifications. Now the contractors would focus on completing the quality measures of
the school below the ceiling price.

Now the unforeseen issues associated using this type of contract could be very risky for the

Human Trafficking Is The Unlawful Movement Of People
Human trafficking is the unlawful movement of people normally for commercial sex exploitation
or forced labor purposes. Trafficking in persons that is the modern type of slavery has raised public
concern and attention increasingly. The international and United States law defines human
trafficking also known as trafficking in persons as encircling two different types of illegal activity,
for instance, sexual exploitation and forced labor. Considering the economic situation and the

Human trafficking entails coercion or deception or both of another person for the intention of
sexual, labor of other types of humiliation, unlike the smuggling of people. In several
circumstances, traffickers acquire and retain control of the victim through the excuse of debt
oppression. During trafficking, the victims remain helpless since they have to rely on the dealers
for survival in terms of food and water. They have to submit to them and remain loyal lest they will
be thrown in the way or assaulted and raped. Victims are frequently emotionally and physically
abused into obedience through confinement, forced drug use, violent threats, starvation, gang rapes,
and horrific beatings. Women and men of all nationalities are usually the abusers of these victims,
and in the mainly hard situations, sufferers are socialized to become dynamic partakers and
traffickers themselves. Researches and reports of cases of human trafficking documented below
exemplify the diversity of this occurrence in the Mexican United States context (Shelley, 2010).

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Miss Distance
In the external guidance problem, the chief contributors to the miss distance are shown in figure (2
6) as mentioned in reference [35]:
Fig. (2 6). The main reasons of miss distance
The first reason is the heading error which is defined as the angle represents the deviation of the
missile s velocity vector from the collision course. When the initial value of the heading error is
different from zero, the missile tries to compensate the difference and this attempt causes a delay
for sitting on the collision course. So, this contributes positively to the miss distance at the
termination of the engagement. Another significant reason of the miss distance is the target
maneuver. Compared to a stationary target, it is more difficult first to detect and then to track a
moving target [36].
Moreover, the disturbing effects such as the noises affecting the electro optical part of the seeker
and the radome refraction that occurs depending on the shape of the radome cause the seeker to
generate the target information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately TVM has some limitations. For example, the data link could be suffer from
jamming. Conversely, it is not occur with an active homing missile. Furthermore, this technique
utilizes the ground radar to keep the target illuminated throughout the engagement. Thus, the
aircraft equipped with anti radiation missiles could detect and engage the SAM radar. Another
drawback is that the missile must depend on the ground radar for guidance, so if the target hides
behind hill, thus the missile cannot be able to detect reflected wave from the target which causes
losing tracking of target. Some examples of missiles that use this kind of guidance are the Russian
S 300PS, S 300F, S300 PMU, anti aircraft, and anti Cruise missile . Figure (2 12) shows the
launcher of S 300 system. Fig.(2 12) S 300

Nuclear Power And The Atomic Bomb
One of the major technological break though in the late 19th and early 20th century was the birth
of atomic fission, between 1895 and 1945. In WWII, the men of science applied this new

Most developmental disabilities begin before a baby is born, but can also happen after birth due to
injury, infection, or other risk factors. It is very important that the mother takes care of herself
during her pregnancy to prevent or reduce the chances for her baby developing a disability. All the
different types of developmental disabilities will be explained and discussed throughout the
research paper.
As previously stated most developmental disabilities are caused by a mix of factors. These factors
include genetics, parental health and behaviors such as smoking and drinking during pregnancy,
complications during birth, or infections the mother might have during the pregnancy or the baby
might have very early in life. For some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Down Syndrome is mainly caused when a person is born with an extra copy of chromosome.
People with Down syndrome usually have physical problems, as well slow learning, delayed
speech, and short attention span. They may also have other health problems such as heart disease,
hearing problems, visual, skeleton or thyroid. Every person born with Down syndrome is different,
but should be treated like anybody else. There is no treatment out there that will help cure or
prevent Down Syndrome but there are other alternatives for treatment. There are several types of
treatment that can help them strengthen certain areas that they may be lacking. Treatment can
include health professionals such as special educators, occupational therapists, speech therapists,

We will attempt to compare and contrast the benefits and liabilities inherent in the two
neighboring countries. We will also focus our study on problem analysis; try to offer solutions
and recommendations; and justify why our recommended solution and implementation will solve
the identified problems. We will also determine which country s approach is the most effective.
Comparative Study of United States and Canada s Health Care System I. Problem/Issue
Statement Medicare is facing a fiscal crisis that threatens its sustainability. The need for
significant Medicare reform is increasingly urgent as 76 million baby boomers are expected to
retire over the next two decade. According to the 201 Medicare Trustees Report, the Hospital
Insurance trust fund will be depleted in 2024. This translates to $27 trillion in unfunded liabilities
over the next 75 years. Current projections indicate that health care costs will increase by more
that 70 percent over the next ten years and will continue thereafter to consume an increasingly
greater portion of personal income. For Americans, health care coverage depends primarily on
whether health insurance is provided by their employer or through two major public programs,
Medicaid for the poor and Medicare for the elderly.

Accountants Earn On Average Of 67,190 Annually, According
Accountants earn on average of 67,190 annually, according to the U. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Average growth rate in the field is 11%, surpassing other job rate growths. As long as the economy
continues to expand, accountants will always be in demand. Businesses expand, new businesses are
established, and the need for competent accountants grows. (Dept. labor) Within the accounting
field, there are different career options, including public accounting, private accounting, and

The accounting profession has implemented technology in countless ways. The IRS has encouraged
electric filing (e filing) for submitting tax returns (Whittenburg Gill, 2017). Updated information for
tax rates, amounts for personal and dependency exemptions, Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP) rules, are currently available via the World Wide Web. Many programs, such as
Excel, act as financial calculators and perform financial formulas fast and error free. Accounting
software programs are coded to use algorithms in synthesizing information, organizing information,
and displaying information for users. As technology advances, increasingly sophisticated algorithms
and functions become available. In my company, information from every department s programs is
imported into the software program that the finance department uses. This automated feature
enables each department to employ the technology that achieves its efficacy. Additionally, computer
technology maximizes available resources. Real time data and financials are now obtainable
(accountex). With automated functions, a series of buttons can spit out the desired information in
the desired format.
Cloud computing is becoming increasingly popular (journal). I anticipate companies will sign up
with a cloud software provider so they can run programs and save information in the clouds, using

Concentration Camps Of The Holocaust
Holocaust
On the 30th of January 1933 a genocide called the Holocaust started, where people who weren t
considered the perfect male or female were sent to concentration camps where they were made to
work hard and very little fed. They were also tortured, experimented on and killed.
The Holocaust was started by a man called Adolf Hitler who took over Germany and was against
Jews, disabled people, homosexuals, black people, homeless people and the mentally ill.
Although people call the camps concentration camps there were different types of camps like
extermination camps, labour camps, prisoner of war camps and transit camps. The first ever
concentration camp was called Dachau and the first people to be sent there were politicians who
were against Hitler s ways and people who were considered asocial , this included the disabled,
the homeless and the mentally ill. After Kristallnacht in 1938 the Germans started killing more
Jewish people which meant more Jews were sent to concentration camps. Jews were forced out of
their homes and had to live in ghettos and in some of the larger ones over 1000 people were sent
to the camps a day.
Life in the camps was horrible and very harsh. Prisoners were forced to work very hard and were
given hardly any food, they shared a crowded bunk with 3 or more people and there was no
bedding. They were tortured and killed usually for not working hard enough, they were also
experimented on.
While concentration camps were meant to work the

Private And Private Education
Winston (2004) stated that one of the essential components to recognize universities is the
distinctions in revenue accessible to help student subsidize their education. Initially, he called
attention to the fact that both public and private institutions are similar in their subsidies but one
uses them to finance items to support their utilization, while the last depends on charitable gifts to
get a similar thing and with similar magnitudes. Nonetheless, the comparative appropriations in
both open and private sector institutions are created through various cost and price approaches,
which prompts diverse measure of student subsidy accessible at every organization. The

Heller Nelson s examinations demonstrate that schools and colleges are moving their concentration
to making a class of selective students and climbing up on the distinction stepping stool. At the end
of the day, however, the chain of importance of advanced educationconsidered by these two authors
is construct more in light of the establishments scholastic importance than on the span of student
sponsorships accessible at the schools.
Subsidizing Public Higher Education Customarily, open or public, advanced education is intensely
sponsored and bolstered by the federal government. Comprehensively, resources that help student
subsidies in the public colleges and universities principally originate from the general public as a
result of the conviction that advanced education is something worth being thankful for and that
society all in all will profit by having all the more knowledgeable individuals (Winston, 2004).
Therefore, the government, in type of the general public, relies upon income to create public
appropriations to help advanced education.
Initially, the government is the biggest contributor of outside awards and money related funding to
students. Government money is mostly need based, which implies students need to exhibit that
they have budgetary needs to be qualified for the grants (Archibald and Feldman, 2011). The
essential initial step that most students need

Business skills for life has taught me many important life skills. We have covered career planning
skills such as making a resume or cover letter and completing a job interview. It has also taught
me the value and importance of a budget and how to make one. Another life skill that we talked
about was the different ways to save money. An important topic in society today that we covered
was consumer credit since the accumulation of credit cards and credit carddebtis becoming an
epidemic in America. Lastly, we talked about retirement planning which is essential to anyone
who plans to retire. One of the first lectures we discussed was about career planning skills. We
even had career services come in and talk in more detail about the resume and cover letter. A
resume should have several different sections. There should be a personal data section, career
objective section, education section, related information section, and a reference section. Career
services said including references is becoming outdated, so you should only provide references if
asked. A resume should also be formatted correctly. It should follow reverse chronological order
under each section. It should be concise and only one page. The resume should have a simple
format. You should highlight functional skills, and you can use the acronym STAR. A resume
should be S, situational depending on job, T, task your duties, A, actions you took, and R, results

people automatically view it as a bad neighborhood . In addition, to the cleanup costs or graffiti,
graffiti vandals shoplift their materials, so it cost the city more money to clean up and pay for the
materials.
Graffiti vandals vandalize both private and public property. The text says, Graffiti vandals vandalize

The Incidence Of Aki Between Two Perioperative Antibiotic...
Anecdotal evidence suggested an increase incidence of AKI when gentamicin was used in
combination with cefazolin and vancomycin for perioperative prophylaxis of elective hip and knee
replacements. As post operative AKI is associated with increased morbidity and mortality, the aim
of this study was to compare the incidence of AKI between two perioperative antibiotic regimens in
patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods
This was a retrospective cohort that evaluated 300 patients who underwent elective hip or knee
replacements that received cefazolin, vancomycin and gentamicin or cefazolin and vancomycin for

There was no significant difference in rates of PJI, CDAD, length of stay, need for acute
hemodialysis, or readmission related to AKI.
Background
There were more than 1,000,000 total hip and knee replacements in the United States in 2010.1
Prosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a rare complication of joint replacements, estimated to be less
than 2% of cases, but result in significant morbidity and increased healthcare costs.2 Frequently, PJI
requires removal of the prosthesis and a prolonged course of IV antibiotics. It has been estimated
that the cost of one PJI is approximately $100,000 after a hip arthroplasty and $60,000 after a knee
arthroplasty.2 Perioperative prophylactic antibiotics for total joint replacements have been proven
to reduce rates of surgical site infections.2 3 It is recommended that prophylactic antibiotics are
administered within one hour prior to surgical incision and are discontinued within 24 hours
following the end of surgery.4 First generation cephalosporins, such as cefazolin, are the agents
most commonly utilized for antimicrobial prophylaxis in joint replacement procedures.2,5
Vancomycin may be used in addition to a first generation cephalosporin in institutions considered to
have a high rate of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) surgical site infections. 2 If
there is local data to suggest gram negative pathogens as a cause of PJI then it is recommended to
consider the addition

  • 2. Peter Pan Reflection Altering Tink Sam Taylor (CEO), once said, If we aren t willing to change and keep up with innovation someone else will. If someone isn t motivated to move forward and create new ideas, there will be someone else that will succeed in their place. People need change sometime, or their lives would be dull, static, and boring. Change is crucial to a person s life to show dynamic differences in their characteristics. It is important for people to be flexible and open minded in different experiences to handle future circumstances. Change is the key to determine one s future. In J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan, the character Tinker Bellis dynamic as illustrated by her words, actions, and motivations. To start, Tinker Bell is shown to be dynamic depicted through her unkind words. An example of this from the book is when Tink treats Wendy offensively by calling her ugly: He had to translate. She is not very polite. She says you are a great ugly girl, and that she is my fairy(Barrie 27). Tinker Bell is shown to be uncivil and boorish towards Wendy by calling her ugly. As a perfect antagonist, she creates tension and suspense in the story with her threats towards Wendy. Without remorse, Tink doesn t even apologize to Wendy. With this type of behavior, she shows her nasty side, her lack of concern for her feelings, and how she may have hurt them. However, while Tinker Bell expressed in words, her more cruel side, being churlish towards Wendy, that doesn t represent her whole self. Next, Tinker Bell illustrates her dynamic self through her actions towards other characters, like Peter. For instance, when Tink plays the role of protagonist towards Peter by saving his life: No time for words now; time for deeds;and with one of her lightning movements Tink got between his lips and the draught, and drained it to the dregs (121). Tink flew in front of Peter s lips before he could drink the poison knowing it could kill either Peter or herself depending on who drank it. Tinker Bell shows a caring and selfless side through an action that could kill her, but her love for Peter was so strong, she had no choice. This makes her a protagonist. All in all, she was Peter s hero that night, and this explains how Tink is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My First Week Of Self Led Tutoring Sessions Essay Going into my first week of self led tutoring sessions, I was extremely anxious due to the high expectations I placed on myself. I wanted to be able to every rule regarding grammar, confident as recognizing errors concerning a poorly organized essay or weak thesis. In addition to these expectations, I was also worried that I would come off as demeaning to the studentor incapable of explain why the student made an error. I wanted to establish my authority, while also ensuring that all of my students felt like they learned something new or got clarity on something they were confused about. As a began tutoring, I realized that my demeanor in the writingsessions, should have been the least of my concerns. Most of my students, engaged in the writing session, felt free to ask questions, or even laughed in the session. I think that was in part to me not taking myself too seriously in the sessions. I naturally compliment my students, and leave most of my anxieties behind. I encourage my students to not be reserved or afraid to tell me if they are confused, by being as transparent as possible. This means that during several times in the session I will ask or say, Did that make sense, You look a little confused. Let me explain that in another way, or I m sorry if I confused you before. However, I must admit that it took me some time to accept that I can be transparent in my writing sessions. I was worried about how I should direct the sessions; how much I should advise them ... Second Messenger Research Paper Second messengers and their actions Second messengers are intracellular molecules that transmit received signs at receptors on the cell surface to the target molecules. They also, expand strength of signals. Second messenger are classified into three major classes: 1)Cyclic nucleotides. 2)Inositol triphosphate IP3 and diacylglycerol DAG. 3)Calcium ions Ca3+. Common mechanism of second messenger system: There are several different secondary messenger systems, but they all are quite similar in overall mechanism, although the substances involved and overall effects can vary. That binding activates the intracellular enzyme phospholipase C (PLC). The intracellular enzyme phospholipase C (PLC) hydrolyzes phospholipids specifically phosphatidylinositol 4,5 bisphosphate (PIP2) which is found in the inner layer of the plasma membrane. this Hydrolysis of PIP2 yields two products: Inositol trisphosphate (IP3) . diacylglycerol (DAG). 1.Inositol trisphosphate (IP3): IP3 action: IP3 is soluble molecule that at first diffuses through the cytosol, then it binds binds to receptors on the endoplasmic reticulum which as a result cause the release of calcium ions (Ca2+) into the cytosol. • 5. Analysis of Barbie-Q by Sandra Cisneros Essay Analysis of Barbie Q by Sandra Cisneros Cisneros Barbie Q really stood out as a great piece of literature. Barbie Q is a quick glimpse into the life of a poverty stricken child and her way of life. Though my life as of yet has been rather short, my earliest childhood memories are overwhelmingly my fondest and her account really struck a chord. Sandra Cisneros accurate reflection of a young mind and intricate writing methods expressed great emotion. Her portrayal of a child s mentality evoked my childhood recollections while her realistic tale of childhood bliss in the midst of poverty caused great empathy on my part making this my preferred work we studied. Sandra s tale brought back much nostalgia for my younger days. Those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Skipping , humming , loopity loops , and pirouetting are silly things that everyone has done as a child, including myself. These reminders set me in a time machine back to my favorite days when the only thing important to me was my own happiness. Another less obvious reflection of a puerile mind is the same story . In this tale of a young girl s game, Sandra Cisneros refers to a pretend play the girls have made up for their Barbie s to act out. This play is referred to as the same story and really hit on what childhood playtime was all about. I remember doing the exact same thing as a child with my brothers (except we were cops and robbers), where we played out the same actions over and over, day after day. Cisneros recognized this to be common to all children and smartly places it for the reader to reflect on their past, as I did on my own. Sandra Cisneros evokes great sympathy for her characters, which added to my favor of the story. In a first few sentences, Sandra has already revealed to the reader the poor social status of the young girls and continues to do so throughout the tale. She particularly points out their pauper way of life by repeating the small amount of toys the young girls have. She mentions all the girls could afford was one extra outfit apiece then one paragraph later recalls again our one outfit apiece . Also, Cisneros touches on the sock dress the girls made ... • 6. Compare And Contrast Allorganic Vs Osteopathic There is more than one type of doctorate in the medical field. A physician can earn either an allopathic (MD) or an osteopathic (DO) degree. An allopathic degree is the more traditional form of medical education that focuses on treating and eliminating disease with medicines. An osteopathic education focuses more on holistic medicine, preventing disease and an additional 300 to 500 hours of hands on musculoskeletal manipulation training (Medline Plus). The philosophy between the two paths may differ, but at the end of either path is a fully qualified doctor. My mother is family physicianand a doctor of osteopathy or DO. My father is a cardiologist and a medical doctor or MD. Even though one is an osteopathic physician and the other an allopathic physician, they have both had very similar experiences. To become a physician, whether allopathic or osteopathic, requires similar education, training, certification, and motivation. Both allopathic and osteopathic physicians are required to have the same basic education. They are required to graduate from college with a bachelor s degree. In our unconscious, we potentially contain repressed memories, desires, and behaviors. The individual unconsciously executes many of the behaviors or desires. However, there is more to the unconscious than our personal memories and behaviors. Carl G. Jung, a psychologist, was one of Freud s friends and student. These fundamental images have lasted since the far reaches of time. The archetypal images are concepts regarding nature, interpersonal relationships, religion, and a whole range of other aspects of human society. For example, we all innately understand the concept of water. This is something that we are not taught or trained to know and accept. Nevertheless, the idea of water in dreams and visions has held meaning for men all throughout history. The individual may not be conscious of the significance from water. Over the course of Jung s life, he studied thousands of dreams comparing and contrasting their significances and found many common themes, like the concept of water. Now to be clear the archetypal images are only representations of the inherent archetypes. These images are not archetypes themselves; they are the experienced expression of the archetype. The archetype itself is an inherited mode of psychic functioning analogous to inherited behavior patterns. (Sills, 1968) Therefore, fairy tales and myths are representations of these innate modes of psychic functioning. It also has a variety of leisure activities. Blackpool also offers a wide range of accommodation and restaurant options. I will also look at the different managerial strategies that Blackpool has enforced to try and regenerate its declining tourist numbers; including the variety of marketing strategies it has tried in order to attract different tourists. There are many factors that can affect the growth of tourism in a certain area. This can include the location of the site, how accessible it is, or the amenities that the site has to offer. Tourism trends are ever changing, with different areas of the market always in growth or decline. Due to changing circumstances of British tourists, this has influenced the way we travel and the places that we now visit for holidays. A variety of factors including; increased car ownership, improved education, improved health and fitness, and a tendency to travel further have all affected how we travel and where to. This has resulted in national holidays facing a decline in tourism and an increase in holidays abroad. Moutinho s theory was that trends would change due to certain factors affecting tourists. This includes Globalisation, Technological acceleration as well as exploration. All these ideas would result in tourists travelling to previously unexplored destinations that were out of the ordinary and very different to the type of holidays being bought in the 1950 s. With ... Phineas Gage and Gary Busey were both lucky because they were given a second chance at life. In addition both narrowly evaded death. Phineas Gage, a traumatic brain injury survivor, was lucky. • 16. Understanding The Attitudes Of Others Understanding the attitudes of others is critical in attempting persuasion. In the elaboration likelihood model (ELM), persuasion splits into two routes: peripheral and central routes. These routes determine the course of decision making; both are dependent on the individual s ability and motivation (Gilovich et al., 2013). The proverb, you can lead a horse to water, but you can t make him drink, is an assumption in that certain individuals will never change their attitudes. If the proverb were true, then persuasion would have no credibility; so, this research paper will dispute the proverb. There are ways to persuade and influence others, even if they are as stubborn as the horse that will not drink. By reviewing past research on persuasion, resistance to persuasion, persistence of change, and the effects of involvement on persuasion, this paper will give support that certain methods can be done to change attitudes, leading to a higher chance of persuasion. Our experiences and the experiences of those around us help create the beliefs which assist our decision making. There are those individuals that strongly hold true to their personal beliefs and those who feel uncertain towards their beliefs. Swann, Pelham and Chidester s (1988) research attempted to change the beliefs of those individuals resistant to persuasion (Swann et al., 1988). They constructed questions which remained consistent with the beliefs of the individual but, more towards an extremist point of view. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Issues Of Antibiotics Misuse In NURN 422, I researched and discussed the serious implications of antibiotics misuse, and explored ways to educate patients (and parents in pediatrics) about their proper use in order to counteract the long term problem it is creating. In recent years, overuse of antibiotics have been in the spotlight due to the fact that bacterial infections are becoming resistant (Centers for Disease Control Prevention [CDC], 2014). The healthcare industry s inappropriate prescribing habits have been a significant part of the problem. This includes prescribing antibiotics as a just in case basis, prescription based on symptom criteria, patients demanding for a fast relief of symptoms, and unsuitable use of broad spectrum antibiotics without determining if there is an actual clinical need for it (CDC, 2011). Having knowledge of what is being treated, educating providers, patients and parents of pediatric patients on the use of these medications will have a major impact on lowering abuse and/or overuse of antibiotics. Nurses can and should be at the forefront of this issue and take a lead in the education of patients and parents. *Discussion of the current work process. Like most stories there should be a sense of curiosity when we read them. Inspecting this story on a more personal level has opened many doors of speculation. Applying the phrase behind closed doors literally, we are going to dive deeper into the story. Looking not only at the story itself, but also finding nits and bits of the story that gives a larger insight on the writer and her intentions. Which could give the story more of a different feel, depending on where it takes place. Being raised in a Caribbean household, and having mostly Caribbean friends, I was widely exposed to this lifestyle. The parents were harsher towards their children, when punishing or giving lectures. Another point which gives hint to the Caribbean viewpoint is the phrase that comes up in the story. Which says but I don t sing benna on Sundays at all and never in Sunday school. Two point of views come out of this, one being the idea of benna, which is simply Calypso music. Which is a music that originated in the Caribbean islands. Another being the emphasis on the day of Sunday. Minor sentence, but gives a lot of information in the few words it gives. Growing up my mother not only spoke about church, but emphasized going on Sundays, which is different for many different backgrounds. • 22. Dr Caligari Expressionism Considered the quintessential work of German Expressionist films, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) remains one of the most influential films of both German cinema and the silent film era. The iconic visual style of Caligari embodies the element of revolt that is accepted to be the basis of Expressionism, which is defined as a total revolt against the existing order both in terms of style and idea, society and the individual, art and ethics (Barlow 18). Caligari makes use of the mise en scГЁne in order to overcome the restrictions of black and white film. In this way, the expressionist stage, the startling zigzags, the swirling arabesques and the outrageously exaggerated furniture that compose each shot all contribute to the portrayal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Caligari set the standard of the movement in film, fulfilling a number of expectations theorists had for this transition of mediums; the set represents an emotional landscape, a projection of the intense feelings of the main character, exaggerated acting with an extreme degree of emotional intensity serves as a silent visual replacement of the outcry and exclamation of expressionistic poetry and theater, and, to replace the vibrant colors of Expressionist art, there are considerable contrasts between light and shadow (Barlow 25). All of these visual aspects made Caligari the most noteworthy of German Expressionist films, and was more than likely the inspiration for the film noir style that emerged several decades later. The limitations of sound and color do not detract from Caligari s ability to visually express common themes of Weimar Germany, most prominently those of authority, insanity, and duality. Such themes are expressed so prominently that it has led many to interpret the film as a close examination of society in the Weimar Republic and the implications the film had for Germany s future. Nevertheless, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligaricertainly influenced the revival of the Expressionist movement through film, and its influence stands the test of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To this day, she is considered to be one of the most influential American poets of all time. I taste a liquor never brewed has been said to be Emily Dickinson s best poem she ever wrote. It is said to be her best poem because of the complexity of the poem. She wrote with an obvious rhyme scheme and expresses superb imagery throughout her poem. This poem also shows how early editors diminished the strength of Dickinson s verse (Forman, Robert J.). The third and sixteenth lines of her poem, I taste a liquor never brewed has been changed multiple time by editors throughout the years to what they believed fit better than what she had written originally lines. The first change was the third line with The first would substitute Vats upon the Rhine for Frankfort Berries and the next change was with the sixteenth lines with Leaning against the sun for Manzanilla come! Toni Cade Bambara’s Black Female Champions Essay Toni Cade Bambara s Black Female Champions It is well known from historical accounts, novels, poems, movies, and other sources that blacks have been abused, neglected, and mistreated in American society. My life literally got turned upside down; I was in a car accident. As traumatic as the accident was it changed my outlook on life in a positive way, however, I wish it did not have to come down to that in order for me to figure things out. It made me realizehow things could change in an instant and that all those things you never thought could happen to you actually can. But I also realized how much I love life. Life and all the good and bad things in it are a gift that we should not take for granted. It was a typical Saturday night in October, Halloween was just around the corner. Three friends and I were headed to a corn maze. It was supposed to be a fun night, until we turned onto a dirt road and in an instant everything changed. The driver hit a washboard patch on the road and lost control of the car. I felt the car jerk left and right and looked up from the backseat at the driver. Her hands were tight on the steering wheel turning it left and right trying to regain control of the car. We were sliding and I felt the car drop off the road. I closed my eyes tight afraid to witness what was about to happen next. It is amazing all the things you can see with your eyes closed. • 38. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Miss Distance In the external guidance problem, the chief contributors to the miss distance are shown in figure (2 6) as mentioned in reference [35]: Fig. (2 6). The main reasons of miss distance The first reason is the heading error which is defined as the angle represents the deviation of the missile s velocity vector from the collision course. When the initial value of the heading error is different from zero, the missile tries to compensate the difference and this attempt causes a delay for sitting on the collision course. So, this contributes positively to the miss distance at the termination of the engagement. Another significant reason of the miss distance is the target maneuver. Compared to a stationary target, it is more difficult first to detect and then to track a moving target [36]. Moreover, the disturbing effects such as the noises affecting the electro optical part of the seeker and the radome refraction that occurs depending on the shape of the radome cause the seeker to generate the target information ...
