Behavioral psychology is based on the concept of explaining behavior through observation.
Behaviorists, psychologist that study behavior, believe a person can be understood through
observing their behavior. This school of psychology assumes that we are born as a blank state and
everyone is equal. However, environmental factors are what leads to us behaving differently from
one another.
American Psychologist and Founder of Behaviorism John B. Watson studied the ultimate goal to
provide basis for prediction and control of human beings acquired through conditioning.
Conditioning occurs through interaction with the environment. Scientist strongly believe that
individuals respond to an environmental stimulus that shapes our actions. Russian Physiologist
Ivan Pavlov and American Psychologist and Behaviorist B. F. Skinner broke down conditioning
into two types: classical conditioning and operant conditioning.
Classical conditioning is a behavioral intervention technique by means of two stimuli being paired
together in a consistent pattern to result in the same behavioral response. Pavlov was looking at
salivation in dogs in response to being fed. His notion was that dogs can be taught to do certain
things, for example dogs salivating when they see food. Operant conditioning is a similar technique
that aims on the association between voluntary behavior and consequences. Skinner believed that

My coach, a very energetic person, told me the same thing all season long. You may not be fast
enough to win state now, but just wait until your senior year! Little did I know, he was
absolutely right. Once my senior season rolled around, I was zoned in. The first three years of

Primary Purpose Of Horses
The primary purpose of horses has definitely changed over decades. Around 4500 2500 BC,
horses and donkeys were primarily used for meat and milk, mounts, draft, and waging war. They
were used for traveling more than draft, since oxen were more effective with pulling and working
in the fields.
Overtime, the need for horses decreased in many areas that it was originally used for. Oxen were
preferred in drafting, travelling by horseback was not as efficient anymore, they were poor meat
animals, and more difficult to herd than sheep or cattle. These are the reasons that horses are not
considered a commodity since they aren t grown for production or very useful to many. In the
early 1700s, racing begins in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. People would bet on what

band started the evolution that established the legacy for big bands to follow, both white and

activity appeared in the clarinet trios that is heard in Jelly Morton s arrangements. There are four

My First Time
A couple of years ago, I awakened thinking that day would be like any other, but it wasn t. That
was a day that I will never forget. It was the day my friend came to my house crying to me, lip
busted and eye blacked. My initial reaction was shooting up in rage. I was speculating who I
would have to seek revenge on. She told me who did this to her. I had to calm myself back down,

have a moral obligation to support the effort of polio eradication using Singer s moderate

A character named Ulysses Everett McGill from the story O Brother Where Art Thou is a leader
of a chain gang in rural Mississippi. Everett connects with a character named Odysseus from the
story The Odyssey because they share many similar attributes. Odysseus demonstrates god like
qualities and he is shown to be a brave man. In the stories, the Odyssey and O Brother Where Art
Thou through many trials and tribulations both characters Odysseus and Everett share similar
characteristics such as they are both loving, perfect, and determined.
Everett and Odysseus are both loving towards their wives, they both love their wives and want the
best for them. Odysseus demonstrates love when he cried to see his wife Penelope, and Everett ...
His greatest problem was when he came upon the sirens. The sirens got the men s drunk and
they fell asleep. Therefore Pete was turned in by the sirens and they were forced to leave with
the frog they thought was Pete. This shows that Everett was determined to keep going and he
did not stop. As a result, they ascertained the frog was not Pete. Everett and Odysseus were both
