Personal Statement Of A Business
It s critical for business owners and accountants see how to peruse and translate balance sheets. These
records offer a snappy perspective of a business financial standing. Without this depiction, business
owners and accountants may settle on choices that have negative repercussions on their organizations
financial standing. A balance sheet is one of a few noteworthy financial statements you can use to
track spending and profit. Also called a statement of financial position, a balance sheet demonstrates
what your organization claims and what it owes through the date recorded, as Accounting Coach
expressed. It shows this data regarding your organization s advantages, liabilities, and value. Assets
are any things your business claims. Liabilities are payment installments your business needs to make.
Equity is the sum your business shareholders own. On a balance sheet, the assets are in a perfect world
equivalent to, or offset, the liabilities and the equity (Sage, 2015.) The term cash flows alludes to the
receipts and installments of money. Organizations/Companies intermittently reveal the cash flow
emerging from its different activities in a form of a statement. This statement is known as statement of
cash flows (or cash flow statement). It also provides an updated information on cash receipts,
investing, cash payments, financing activities, operating activities during a specified period of time,
and the net change in cash operations. The cash flow statement

Materials Camp Personal Statement
I would like to attend Materials Camp to learn more about the subjects that I am passionate about. As
far back as I can remember, I have loved science and technology. My two favorite areas of science are
Geology and Agriculture. Because I was motivated to learn more about these subjects, I researched
and sought out professors in these fields to learn more outside of school. In school, I enjoy math,
science (Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Biology), and computer classes. I love learning more about
anything in the STEM field and enjoy meeting and learning from people who work in all fields of
STEM.
Through my involvement in 4 H, I have been given the opportunity to study geology and compete in
geology educational displays at my county fair and state fair. I enjoy going into grade schools and
teaching students the basics of geology and finding ways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I Joined the team to learn new technical and business skills through hands on experience. Last year I
helped research, write, film, and present the team entry for the FIRST Chairman s award. I currently
serve as treasure and media/imagery team lead. I led the team to design graphics for branding, produce
content on multiple social media platforms, and manage the team website. I have also learned business
and public speaking skills. My favorite sub teams are CAD and manufacturing. I enjoy being
challenged to find a solution to an engineering problem, working with my team to create and CAD a
solution, and then building it. Working in the shop gives me criticle experience and helps me
understand how things work. I believe that attending Materials Camp would teach me concepts and
ideas that will help guide my career path. I would appreciate the opportunity to see how the machinery
used in mining and Agriculture is designed and manufactured. I would also benefit from the

Right After Breakfast The Next Morning By Dr. Davis
Right after breakfast the next morning, Dr. Davis showed up with a bright smile on his face.
Good morning, John. How are you feeling today? he greeted cheerfully in an attempt to gauge how his
patient s mood was and how he felt towards therapy.
Grimacing, Johnny shrugged, Am fine.
Nodding, the doctor set down the few items he had brought for the first session.
I know that Doctor Early has you on less medicine to help with pain, so you may hurt a bit more right
now. The exercises I do with you and ask your family to help you with may cause some pain too, he
warned. The pain shouldn t get to bad, if it does, tell someone. Otherwise, what you do in physical
therapy will help with the pain. It will take a bit, but once we get you moving, your body will be
happier. Does that make sense?
Pain now...so, less...later? Johnny asked slowly and carefully, trying to remember what his Uncle Roy
had told him about speaking.
Yes, exactly!
And great job kiddo, Roy grinned at Johnny. That is what I meant by speaking all the words in your
head. I know it ll be hard, but like I said, Aunt Jo, me, Chris, Jenny and others will be here for you.
Smiling bashfully with pink running through his cheeks, John turned back to Doctor Davis. Sensing
the embarrassment, the physical therapist started his session.
What I am going to start with is helping you stretch out your muscles, he explained. You should be
able to do this on your own after this.
Picking up the uncasted leg, Davis began

The Crime Of The City Of Peoria And On Campus Essay
Location of a university is a contributing factor to the safety of the students and campus. The overall
crime rating of the university is based on reported crime on campus and in surrounding areas. Colleges
with low amounts of reported crime are valued as being safer. Bradley University earns an overall
crime rating of C when comparing on campus, city, and regional crime against all other schools
nationwide. According to the data, Bradley s campus rated as a D+, Peoria rated as an F+, the region
rated as a D ( Bradley University Crime ). In this section, I will be addressing the crime factors related
to the city of Peoria and on campus.
City
According to the crime index, Peoria is considered to be safer than 7% of the cities in the US. In
Illinois, more than 97% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Peoria. When compared to
other communities with a similar population size, Peoria s crime rate is higher than average ( Crime
Rates for Peoria, IL ). Like most cities, Peoria is going to have records of violent offenses including
things like rape, murder and non negligent manslaughter, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. But
different areas of Peoria are going to differ on their crime rate based on the class level that lives there
and the security precautions taken in that area. Because a lot of students will be living off campus in
houses or apartments, it is important for Bradley to understand the likelihood of a crime involving
those students might face while not

Facing The Loss Of A Loved One And The Grieving Process
Facing the Loss of a Loved One and the Grieving Process
Introduction
From the moment we come in this world grief becomes an inevitable part of our lives. We grief for
various reasons, the loss of loved ones, diagnosis of a terminal illness, loss of a job, relationships,
property among other things we deem important to us.
Medicinenet.com defines grief as the normal reaction to a loss. Emotional reactions of grief can
include anger, guilt, anxiety, sadness, and despair, while physical reactions can include sleeping
problems, changes in appetite, physical problems, and or illness.
While grieving is a natural emotional reaction to loss, grief can be functional or dysfunctional. During
the grieving process the intense pain of the loss gradually fades and allows the person to begin to heal
and return to his or her regular life. This process may take a few months, this however, is normal and
is considered uncomplicated or functional grief. Complicated grief or dysfunctional happens when the
individual experiences the pain and intense sadness for a prolong period of time, this usually results in
the individual s inability to function. This may also manifest itself in actual physical symptoms.

Midterm Essay Passing, by Nella Larsen
Passing, by Nella Larsen is a novel all about pretending to be something that you are not. It is about
giving everyone the impression that everything is in order when in reality everything is falling apart.
Passing in this novel refers to the ability of a person to be classified as one thing, normally a social
group, while belonging to a different group. Passing is usually done to gain class or acceptance by
groups other than one s own. The primary focus of the novel is on racial passing which is the ability to
look white and belong to a white group when in reality the person is an African American in order to
gain privileges that were unavailable to them. Although racial passing is the main focus, another major
theme in this novel is sexual passing and identity. Sexual passing refers to a person s ability to be
judged or viewed as a heterosexual person but in reality they are homosexual or bisexual. This was a
masked theme in the novel because in the early 1900 s, homosexuality was not something that was
accepted. Larsen made it aware that these were real problems in those times without coming out
directly and saying it. The main plot of Passing focuses on two light skinned black women, Irene
Redfield and her old time friend Clare Kendry. Both women can pass as white women. Irene who is
married to a successful African American doctor, passes only when it is

Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu
Alfredo Camacho
Dr. Fontes
CLAS 5
3 October 2017
Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and also
combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the
expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The
pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the
nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any
kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective
of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that
on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been
involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful
form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers
began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long
stories are made in effort to express a personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are
turning into, however some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the
oppressing forces. A poem is much shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can be
placed into a Chicano novel, but the effect of

Analysis Of Tell My Horse By Zora Neale Hurston
In Zora Neale Hurtson s ethnography, Tell My Horse (1938), she uses her research and field notes
from her year in the Caribbean islands to study how the political atmosphere and culture tie into the
religion of Vodoun. Being one of the first in her field to study this religion, Hurston hoped to expand
research upon the subtle nuances within the African diaspora and increase the people of Caribbean s
acceptance of their African identity. In doing so, Hurtson found her research discouraged the idea of
Pancaribbeanism and diminished stereotypes of Vodoun being a religion based upon only evil
possession and pagan sacrifice. As an up and coming African American author in the Harlem
Renaissance, Hurston accomplished major feats against the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Her racial disposition as an African American also made many of the participants more comfortable
discussing religious and social topics with her. Throughout her research, Hurston studied two main
aspects of the Vodoun culture, those rituals and rites surrounding death, and those surrounding the idea
of marriage. This stark contrast relates back to her main focus of her research and hopes of smashing
the stereotype of Vodoun being an evil, pagan religion. One intriguing aspect that was present in a
majority of her research was the basis of the culture and religion around orature. In orally passing
traditions and rites through the generations, it ensures that with each family, generation, and especially
island, that there are differences in how certain ceremonies are held. For example, during her
observation of a family s funeral rites, Hurston asked many different family members how they
spotted and trapped any stray duppies, or spirits, that may be around. To Hurston s surprise, each
family member had a slightly different answer to both question, with some saying the way to spot a
duppy was through suspicious, sneaking movements without eye contact, to as grotesque as foaming
at the mouth. (59 61). This was furthered proven when every answer was different in how to trap a

Mr Jones Role In Animal Farm Essay
1. Mr. Jones
Mr. Jones plays the role of the self righteous king whose carelessness about others causes his
dethronement. His failure to restore order among the animals and recapture his own farm proves his
inability to lead.
2. Old Major
Old Major plays the role as the respected elder who seeks peace for his unknowing comrades who
suffer at the hands of their cruel owners. His prophetic dream of Beasts of England sparks the
revolution of the animals to overthrow Tyrant Man.
3. Napoleon

He plays the role as the sympathetic character whose great mass and simple mindfulness is taken
advantage by the deceitful Napoleon. Even to the end, his dedication toward Animal Farm was
considered with reverence with every working beast.
6. Squealer
Squealer plays the role as the good cop when delivering unfortunate news to the frank citizens. His
emotional demeanor and persuasive manner convinces every animal that as one of them, he too must
suffer from food shortages and put undying faith in The Leader.
7. Clover
Clover acts the role of the maternal protector that every suffering comrade lacks. Only she quartered
the motherless ducklings during Old Major s speech, only she worried about Boxer s waning strength,
and only she checked the disappearing Commandments when every law was broken by the pigs.
Sadly, her amiable concern was useless.

self sacrifice. Cowardly, she hid away during the Battle of the Cowshed and happily pranced back to

The Problem Of Low Back Pain
Low back pain is one of the major causes for not only days lost at work, but also the early exit from
the field of nursing. This can potentially be a major concern to address as policymakers and healthcare
experts look to solve the nursing shortage problem. Project Back to Back is one initiative aimed at
addressing this issue. It seeks to reduce the prevalence of low back pain experienced by nurses by
introducing continual training in proper patient handling and Dru yoga classes to nurses working in
the hospital facilities that are a part of the Mount Sinai Hospital System.
In the United States, low back pain is singled out as the most common reason for time lost at work
after the common cold, the third most common condition leading to surgical procedures, and the fifth
most common reason for hospital visits (United States Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS), Healthy People 2020, n.d.). Reports show that musculoskeletal disorders account for
approximately$240 billion in the United States annual healthcare expenditure, with over $100 billion
going to treat low back pain alone (Crow Willis, 2009). Low back pain, according to Manek and
MacGregor (2005), is defined as pain, muscle tension, or stiffness localized below the costal margin
and above the inferior gluteal folds, with or without leg pain (sciatica) (p. 134). It can be classified as
either specific or nonspecific, but the majority of the cases, approximately 90%, are nonspecific as

The Oklahoma Home Front
On April 6, 1917, the United States entered the Great War with the vast majority of the American
populace supporting the ingress. Although there were some dissenting opinions on America
intervening in the war. This dissent was typically seen from marginal groups of Irish and German
immigrants who either had harsh feelings toward Great Britain or felt uneasy about fighting against
family members in Germany. These demographics would be swayed by society to reform their views,
or in some extreme cases be forced to. Furthermore, several groups who were not expected to support
the war were given an opportunity to show their patriotism. Surprisingly, this could be seen by groups
of African and Native Americans who were wanting to gain credibility ... Show more content on

These sentiments could be seen across the country, and in worse cases citizens acted upon these
notions. As Farwell recalled, Those bearing German names were often molested, and in places
lynched. Because of this those bearing German names changed them and several towns did as well.
These views were commonly rooted in the belief that the German immigrants were spies, which was a
nearly identical assumption the Young Turks made against their Armenian demographic. Nevertheless,
these beliefs would dominate the American public throughout the war, and one cannot help but to
theorize that the excessive propaganda and government intervention caused some of these biases to
formulate in a small town like Tulsa. As it would be difficult not to want to defend one s country if the
enemy being presented is of a barbaric gorilla rapaciously clutching onto a woman that symbolizes the
Statue of Liberty. Even those who were illiterate in Tulsa would be able to discern from this poster
that the enemy they were facing was not to be shown mercy or sympathy. Which in turn potentially
caused perceptions of German Americans to be hyperbolized and soured. No person of German
heritage was thought. Even the renowned brewmaster Adolphus

The Western Front And Storm Of Steel
All Quite on the Western Front and Storm of Steel are two of many influential pieces of literature that
reflect World War one from a German point of view. It is important to note that All Quite on the
Western Front is a work of fiction that is based on the events of the war, Were as Storm of Steel is
memoir that is based on the events of Ernst Junger on the western front. Junger is criticized that he
takes a positive stance on the war, were as Erich Remarque s novel tries to show the reality behind the
war. The two authors believed the Great war had effects on those who fought in it through the
influence of their perception of the war and how new technology had changed the way it is
understood. The psychological implications on the soldiers were a direct link between survival,
technology and their rural life style. This phenomenon can be seen in both Remarque and Jungar s
works. The memoir describes Junger experiences without restraint which results in a graphic book.
However, he constantly attempts to convey a position of noble courage in himself and his fellow
soldiers, even when Junger experiences situations of true horror. An Example of this can be seen when
he is marching into the Battle of the Somme, he seems more concerned with a clear description of the
events rather than reacting to it. In certain situations it almost seems that he was relying only on his
extinct rather than clearly processing what was happening. This was due to the constant exposure of

Two figures walking up the bridge seem to be a man and an elder, as indicated by how one is
extremely hunched over and holding his back while the other is turning as if to check on the elder s
condition. A playful looking boy follows them, his arms waving energetically as he trots behind them
barefooted. And coming down from the bridge, there is a man adorned in a bright red cloak followed
by another man, both with big hats covering their bald heads. All of the people range in age, outfits,
and personas, which suggests that they all are from different places and have different destinations and
purposes to get there. It can be inferred that because the Tokugawa period was a time of peace, that
people were more inclined to travel due to the stability of the period. Instead of just traveling for trade
and goods, people started to venture out more casually and for personal gain, exemplified by how the
boy is barefooted, suggesting that he is only traveling a small distance, and the monk and disciple are
likely traveling for religious means. The bridge in the foreground also indicates that the Tokugawa
period was a time of stability. Built with thick wooden beams, the bridge appears sturdy enough to be
able to bear the many travelers passing over it. This shows that there was

Responsibility In John Steinbeck s Cannery Row
Often times, individuals use the phrase set your priorities straight to indicate they need a realignment
on what is valued more. An individual s priorities vary, depending on one s values. Some put their
individual values before others ; while some give others priorities more value than their own. Authors
occasionally engrave this moral into their novels to leave an impact in the reader s lives. John
Steinbeck s Cannery Row tells a story of Mack and the boys, who want to show their appreciation for
Doc by throwing him a surprise party at the comfort of his home. But when the alcohol takes over

street bums, want to acknowledge their appreciation for Doc by giving him a party, this shows their
charitable personality by giving when they themselves do not have much. In chapter seven, Mack and
the boys conversate about throwing Doc a party, It s going to take dough to give Doc a party . . . it

this fact and decide to give Doc a celebration to praise their appreciation for him. Even though they

Mack also explains it has to be a good one this shows that they are planning to devote all their effort

Johannes Kepler was born in 1571 and was one of the first strong believers of the heliocentric
planetary theory. He discovered the three laws of planetary motion. This German astronomer believed
in the Harmonices Mundi, or the Harmonies of the World. In his Harmonices Mundi he spoke of his
third law, which was about the relationship between the orbital periods and the distances of the planets
from the sun. He believed the sun regulates the velocity of the planets. This fact was a marking point
in Astronomy history. This left a path for Newton s theory of universal gravitation.
Galileo Galilei was a student at the University of Pisa. He studied medicine, though his real interests
were natural philosophy and mathematics. What he is mostly remembered for is his work on free fall,
his use of telescopes, and his employment of experimentation. In 1592, he became a professor of the
University of Padua. His job was to teach Euclid geometry and standard astronomy to medical
students. Instead he taught and lectured a more unconventional form of astronomy and natural
philosophy to his medical students. In a personal letter to Kepler sent in 1598, Galileo stated that he

Words As Sweet As Honey From Sakhambi Short Story
The story Words as Sweet as Honey From Sankhambi is a story being retold by a children s book
specialist Linda Rode. Sankhambi plays a big part in many Venda folktales and is very alike to
Hlakanyana from Zulu Folklore. He takes on many different shapes and sizes in these tales but one
thing for certain is wherever he is there is always trouble. This story is about how monkeys became
tall, slender, quick, and nimble from being short, and fat. Back in the early days the monkeys were fat,
little, pot bellied animals that moved rather slowly. They were not nearly as nimble or quick as they
are today, and there body shape was much different. Sankhambi had a lot of fun sneaking up behind
the monkeys and pulling their tails. Obviously the monkeys were not too happy about this and would
throw seeds and bits at him from high in the tree tops while he lay there basking in the sun.
Sankhambi hated the monkey business and one day he decided that he was going to put a stop to it. He
approached the monkeys and said in his sweetest voice that he wanted to tell his dear monkey friends
a big secret. The eldest monkey called out to the other monkeys not to listen to him, because it was
just another one of his wicked tricks. Sankhambi begged and pleaded the monkeys to listen to him for
this very special event. Monkeys are naturally curious animals so they slowly began to climb down the
tree to listen to Sankhambi. Sankhambi with his voice sweet as honey told them that he would like to

Jaws is a thriller with the main aim being to build up suspense and tension. In the novel Peter
Benchley uses many variations of language techniques to emphasise important points that build up
suspense. He also uses sentence and paragraph structure to affect the reader in many different ways.

The tempo and volume gradually increase with the intention of raising the viewer s heartbeat. This
increase also gives the effect that whatever is moving through the water is getting closer and speeding
up. Then all of a sudden a dramatic picture, from the shark s eye view appears, creeping through the
weeds on the seabed. The camera angle is very effective, as the audience moves through the weeds
with the shark. The dimly lit darkness of deep underwater which creates an unclear picture has the
effect of making the audience anxious as nobody knows what the shark is about to find.
The instant that the picture appears, an abrupt increase in the tempo and the volume of the music
makes the viewer s heart leap. Amounting tension causes an adrenaline rush and makes the viewer
edgy. Suspense is created because the viewer knows that something will happen but does not know
when. When the music comes to a climax a horn joins in with the cellos. Horns are generally
associated with any kind of hunt and although the audience doesn t yet know that the shark is after the
girl the horn adds to the overall nervousness of the atmosphere. As screeching, slashing violins can be

Underdogs In The Book Of Daniel
The young underdogs and their victories in the old testament is an interesting topic to think about in a
theological point of view. These so called underdogs went through many trials just as most of the
characters do in the bible. What makes these characters so different is how they started out. They all
started in a way that would make it hard for them to come out on top, thus hints the name underdogs.
The obstacles they had in their way molded the characters. Each individual character can be seen in
different ways and it is not surprising considering the way the bible presents them. Take for example
Daniels. Daniels qualities are the reasons of his success.
Daniel s experiences and prophecies for the Jewish exiles during his time in the Babylonian capital,
where his service to the king gave him privileged access to the highest levels of society. His loyal
service to the Lord in a land and virtues makes him unique among almost all the people of Scripture.
Daniel is one of the only major figures in the Bible to produce a completely positive record of his
actions.

Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s...
William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what
distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a
troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father
murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of
the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude.
Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show
happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with
the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His
black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way
to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed
neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of
power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how
Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom.
On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The
use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and
society while the dark blue

Marketing Petland
Social. People have become dependent on their pets for companionship, friendship and love. They are
an important and loved part of our families, and it is especially apparent in the spending patterns of
these pet owners (Kadet, A., 2012). Owning a pet is a big responsibility, and some owners take it to a

Economic. Most people are aware of the cost associated with owning a pet, a pet is an extension of

Celebrate The Voyage Of Zheng He Dbq
Have you ever seen a treasure ship larger than a football field? Crazy right? But yet it was accomplish
by a man with the name of Zheng He. Many people do not recognize him because all of his records
were destroyed, but he was astonishing. If you ask me, I say we should celebrate the voyages of Zheng
He. Why? He spent twenty eight years of his life traveling and traveled one hundred five thousand,
three hundred miles in total! He also had enormous ships, crew members, and seven voyages
compared to others. Lastly he brought peace and people together from all places, also made sea trade
safer.
People argue that Zheng He didn t accomplish anything, but in Document B it states, ¨Voyages; 7;
(1405 1433).¨ This tells us he was traveling for twenty eight years out of his whole life, so at least he
tried. Also not everything you try gets accomplished, it was just his luck he couldn t explore anything
new. From information that I have gathered from Document A, it clarifies that in total, he traveled one
hundred five thousand, three hundred miles in total! He was also very intelligent by going back to
Nanjing each voyage for new crew, and repairments.. For his great intelligence, that gives one good
reason for recognition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

five ships in total which was way more than other explorers. Also Document B tells us he had, ¨27,500

known during that time period as The New Negro Movement. Thousands relocated from the rural

Sexism In Disney Fairytales
Introduction Disney fairytales have been a popular cartoon brand that is loved by children and young
adults for many decades. However, these fairytales usually have a constant theme where princesses

You bet. Preschoolers are like medieval philosophers: the text a book, a movie, a TV show is more

children in their own language, by trying to bring a fantasy to reality and that is why these depictions

choosing to work as a house keeper for three fairies. It is rather confusing to understand the logic of

I would consider investing in Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. This is because based on the ratio
analysis the firm is not insolvent since it can meet its debts obligations as they fall due. Also the trend
in the financial statements indicate a general increase in the value of assets hence a favorable
investment. Also the working capital has increased over the three years. The current assets have
continued to be more than the current liabilities over the three years. Therefore the increase in working
capital reflects that the firm has improved its ability to pay its current liabilities over the three years

Analysis Of Marija Gimbutas s The Living Goddess
Archeology like any other science is prone to uncertainty and a couple mistakes. However, when an
idea is presented as a fact, it is outrageous, nothing is completely definite and everything is basically a
theory. Marija Gimbutas was very passionate about the Goddess, in The Living Goddess, she says,
The role of the father in prehistoric antiquity was either not fully understood or not as highly valued as
that of the mother, (112). Nevertheless, the way that she presented her argument was not convincing.
Gimbutas acted as though she knew the history of a civilization just by looking at the artifacts she
found, she used her own research as her evidence to support her claims, and lastly she is guilty of
letting her own ideas cloud her judgment. Throughout her work, Gimbutas appears to be omniscient
claiming to know that there was a civilization in Old Europe that was matrifocal, peaceful and offered
its citizens a higher quality of life. She paves the road for her peaceful utopia by defining the word
civilization through the eyes of an archeologist, Historians have assumed that civilization implies a
hierarchical political and religious organization, warfare, a class stratification, and a complex division
of labor, (Gimbutas, The Civilization viii). Once she introduced the barbaric society that revolved
around males she contrasts this by saying that gynocentric cultures did not revolve around petty
superficial things that mattered in a patriarchal society (Gimbutas, The

Comparing Shakespeare s Shall I Compare Thee to a...
Poetry Comparison There are certain themes and ideas which appear over and over again in literature,
no matter what the genre or form. Poems which were written centuries apart can echo similar ideas
about life and humanity. Love is one such theme which presents itself repeatedly as seen in the poetry
of William Shakespeare and that of Robert Burns. Each poem, though written more than two hundred
years apart, explains what it feels like for the poet to feel love for the singular object of their affection.
The poem Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer s Day by Shakespeare and Burns A Red, Red Rose
share common images and themes with the intention of instilling in the reader the impression of their
love and in explaining the depth of their emotion for the beloved as well as the respective poets ideas
about the very nature of love and how it can be both passionately fulfilling and devastating. William
Shakespeare s 18 Sonnet, more popularly known as the Shall I Compare Thee sonnet, is about a lover
who is speaking to his beloved. Most sonnets serve this same function; to profess love from the
sonneteer to some individual whom he loves. In these poems, the lover always uses the most amazing
adjectives to describe the woman, or sometimes the man, that he loves. The poet describes every
component of his beloved, such as her hair and her lips and her eyes. Although not a sonnet, Robert
Burns poem has the same function; it is a love poem from the unnamed narrator to the

In addition, each stage has a virtue that is accomplished after the crisis has been resolved. This was
just an overview to Erikson s developmental theory, however, it greatly assists the analyzation of
Susan s life. To begin, this paper will not examine at the trust versus mistrust stage considering Susan
cannot recollect being an infant. Therefore, beginning at the early childhood stage, Susan felt
extremely self sufficient compared to her younger siblings; she remembers having bathroom accidents
and incidents of bed wetting. Nevertheless, she remembers seeking her mother out and asking for

virtue earned here was will she was willing to seek support and admit wrongdoing. The subsequent
stage is the middle childhood stage; this age is characterized by children being playful and

made exceptional grades in preschool and elementary school and as stated previously she showed
early signs of mastering appropriate times to be guilty. She was ambitious and determined to do

that addresses the issue in how to allocate capital (or resources) among competing investment

defining this problem, Lorie Savage structures it by outlining three separate scenarios:

(Lorie amp; Savage, 1955, p. 234) Turns out this is an Integer Programming optimization problem as
it has identified constraints with the end output being to either accept an investment (using the integer

specifically classified as a Mixed Integer Programming problem. (Trick, 1998) Their research proved
to be revolutionary as this strayed from the traditional accepted method in using IRR, and this research
has evolved since. One example of this is demonstrated where Seymour Kaplan introduced the
concept of applying the Generalized Lagrange Multiplier (G.L.M.) method with Integer Programming,
using the Lorie Savage problem as a basis for comparison, that found favorable results in the
effectiveness of G.L.M. in producing optimal solutions using NPV to make investment decisions.
(Kaplan, 1966, p. 1136) Building on this research was the introduction of using genetic algorithms
(GA) to solve capital budgeting problems in allowing financial analysts to find optimal investment
combinations for various situations, such as the multiple tax structures a company may encounter.
(Berry amp; Manongga, 2006, p. 96) Expanding on the GA implementation was research conducted
that incorporated fuzzy set theory on problems when investment parameters contained scant or vague
information and therefore had great uncertainty. Xiaoxia Huang created a new mean

Indirect Critical Distance
The indirect or reverberant sound field begins to dominate the listening environment when the child
moves far from the teacher. The indirect sound field originates at the critical distance of the room
(point in the room where reverberant sound level and direct sound level are equal). If the child is
within the critical distance (the direct sound field), reverberation will have minimal effects. Beyond
the critical distance (the indirect sound field), however, these reflections can reduce speech perception

Christianity, a lukewarm church is one that, although they claim to be in communion with Christ,
simultaneously indicate through their pursuit of wealth, prestige, and power that they reject the notion
of denying themselves, taking up the cross of Christ, and following Him (Mark 8:34). This decision of

How Did The Flag Change Australian Society
Australia s society has developed in many ways since colonisation. An example of society developing
in Australia is how the Australian flag design has changed over time and had things like the Southern
Cross added to it. Not only has the Australian flag changed, but immigration has also changed
Australia s society since colonisation. Women being able to vote was yet another major change to
Australia and its society. Between 1850 1900 seven million people left China in search of
opportunities in USA, Canada and Australia.
The Australian flag has been changed many times and has been argued about how it should look. The
flag represents Australia, today s flag was voted for in a national flag competition held in 1901.
Australia s first flag was the union flag it was used by Captain James Cook in 1770. After the union
flag, the Australian flag had the Southern Cross added to it and a federation star. Some Australian
citizens still want the Australian flag to be changed for various reasons and Advocates of change in
Australia believe that another flag design would be more effective in representing Australia than the
current flag.

Salaries And Compensation Packages Should Be Regulated
1. Introduction
Currently, there is an increasing argument about whether CEOs salaries and compensation packages
have become excessive, consequently, should be regulated. According to the High Pay Centre (n.d., as
cited in, West, 2016) and the Tim Bush (n.d., as cited in, West, 2016), chief executives from FTSE 100
received a salary of £4.96m a year which is 180 times more than the average UK employees . This
essay argues that the compensation and salaries for chief executives are excessive, therefore, should be
regulated. In this essay, the reasons for why CEOs compensation is excessive will first be argued, then
the stakeholders power and influences on companies performances will be discussed.
1. Excessive compensation
It is believed that there has been an extraordinary growth of CEOs salaries in recent years, which
could lead to an excessive compensation (Mishel and Davis, 2015). It could be augured that the high
pay for CEOs is simply a reflection of the market for skills (Bebchuk and Fried, 2004, as cited in
Mishel and Divis, 2015). Kaplan (as cited in Mishel and Divis, 2015), who published an economic
research working paper in 2012 claimed that the high salary for CEO is not unique, as other groups
with similar backgrounds have also seen a dramatic growth in their salaries. For example, the salaries
for corporate lawyers and hedge fund investors have also increased significantly. As a result, the rising
CEOs pay might be a result of a competitive market for

Fahrenheit 451 Book Report Essay
Fahrenheit 451 could not of had a better plot. Not only was the novel thrilling the entire time but
taught us knowledge over ignorance. I think that Fahrenheit 451 was a great book. The plot of story is
Guy Montag starts out as a average fireman who loves doing his job, which is burning books. He s
married and lives a normal lifestyle in an unspecified city in a society where reading is illegal, and
being intellectual is frowned upon. That would be the exposition of the story. On his way home from
work one day, he meets a curious lady named Clarisse, who tells that she loves reading and nature.
Clarisse gave Montag a desire to change society s way of thinking for the better, and eventually the
curiosity spreads to Montag and he begins to steal books. This would be the rising action. At this
moment he questions the ethics of the society he lives in. That would be the main conflict. His wife
and boss eventually find out what he s doing, so firemen stop in front of the salamanders own house,
raid his home, finding and burning down all the books. Montag kills Beatty with a flamethrower. This
would be the climax. Knowing something like this would happen, Montag flees for his life. Montag
follows the directions given to him by Faber and finds a band of men devoted to the same cause
preserving the truth of book. In the end, Montag is rescued by a community of people, each of whom
introduces himself as the title of a book they ve memorized. That would be the denouement.
The reasons why I think the book is great is because of the meaning of the word choice and the depth

  • 2. Personal Statement Of A Business It s critical for business owners and accountants see how to peruse and translate balance sheets. These records offer a snappy perspective of a business financial standing. Without this depiction, business owners and accountants may settle on choices that have negative repercussions on their organizations financial standing. A balance sheet is one of a few noteworthy financial statements you can use to track spending and profit. Also called a statement of financial position, a balance sheet demonstrates what your organization claims and what it owes through the date recorded, as Accounting Coach expressed. It shows this data regarding your organization s advantages, liabilities, and value. Assets are any things your business claims. Liabilities are payment installments your business needs to make. Equity is the sum your business shareholders own. On a balance sheet, the assets are in a perfect world equivalent to, or offset, the liabilities and the equity (Sage, 2015.) The term cash flows alludes to the receipts and installments of money. Organizations/Companies intermittently reveal the cash flow emerging from its different activities in a form of a statement. This statement is known as statement of cash flows (or cash flow statement). It also provides an updated information on cash receipts, investing, cash payments, financing activities, operating activities during a specified period of time, and the net change in cash operations. • 3. Materials Camp Personal Statement I would like to attend Materials Camp to learn more about the subjects that I am passionate about. As far back as I can remember, I have loved science and technology. My two favorite areas of science are Geology and Agriculture. Because I was motivated to learn more about these subjects, I researched and sought out professors in these fields to learn more outside of school. In school, I enjoy math, science (Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Biology), and computer classes. I love learning more about anything in the STEM field and enjoy meeting and learning from people who work in all fields of STEM. Through my involvement in 4 H, I have been given the opportunity to study geology and compete in geology educational displays at my county fair and state fair. Working in the shop gives me criticle experience and helps me understand how things work. • 4. Right After Breakfast The Next Morning By Dr. Davis Right after breakfast the next morning, Dr. Davis showed up with a bright smile on his face. Good morning, John. How are you feeling today? he greeted cheerfully in an attempt to gauge how his patient s mood was and how he felt towards therapy. Grimacing, Johnny shrugged, Am fine. Nodding, the doctor set down the few items he had brought for the first session. I know that Doctor Early has you on less medicine to help with pain, so you may hurt a bit more right now. The exercises I do with you and ask your family to help you with may cause some pain too, he warned. The pain shouldn t get to bad, if it does, tell someone. Otherwise, what you do in physical therapy will help with the pain. It will take a bit, but once we get you moving, your body will be happier. Does that make sense? Pain now...so, less...later? Johnny asked slowly and carefully, trying to remember what his Uncle Roy had told him about speaking. Yes, exactly! And great job kiddo, Roy grinned at Johnny. That is what I meant by speaking all the words in your head. I know it ll be hard, but like I said, Aunt Jo, me, Chris, Jenny and others will be here for you. Smiling bashfully with pink running through his cheeks, John turned back to Doctor Davis. Sensing the embarrassment, the physical therapist started his session. What I am going to start with is helping you stretch out your muscles, he explained. You should be able to do this on your own after this. Picking up the uncasted leg, Davis began ... The overall crime rating of the university is based on reported crime on campus and in surrounding areas. Colleges with low amounts of reported crime are valued as being safer. Bradley University earns an overall crime rating of C when comparing on campus, city, and regional crime against all other schools nationwide. According to the data, Bradley s campus rated as a D+, Peoria rated as an F+, the region rated as a D ( Bradley University Crime ). In this section, I will be addressing the crime factors related to the city of Peoria and on campus. City According to the crime index, Peoria is considered to be safer than 7% of the cities in the US. In Illinois, more than 97% of the communities have a lower crime rate than Peoria. When compared to other communities with a similar population size, Peoria s crime rate is higher than average ( Crime Rates for Peoria, IL ). Like most cities, Peoria is going to have records of violent offenses including things like rape, murder and non negligent manslaughter, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. But different areas of Peoria are going to differ on their crime rate based on the class level that lives there and the security precautions taken in that area. Because a lot of students will be living off campus in houses or apartments, it is important for Bradley to understand the likelihood of a crime involving those students might face while not ... • 8. Passing, By Nella Larsen Mariem Kakeh Prof. Kangyl Ko English 63 10 October 6, 2015 Midterm Essay Passing, by Nella Larsen Passing, by Nella Larsen is a novel all about pretending to be something that you are not. It is about giving everyone the impression that everything is in order when in reality everything is falling apart. Passing in this novel refers to the ability of a person to be classified as one thing, normally a social group, while belonging to a different group. Passing is usually done to gain class or acceptance by groups other than one s own. The primary focus of the novel is on racial passing which is the ability to look white and belong to a white group when in reality the person is an African American in order to gain privileges that were unavailable to them. Although racial passing is the main focus, another major theme in this novel is sexual passing and identity. Sexual passing refers to a person s ability to be judged or viewed as a heterosexual person but in reality they are homosexual or bisexual. This was a masked theme in the novel because in the early 1900 s, homosexuality was not something that was accepted. Larsen made it aware that these were real problems in those times without coming out directly and saying it. The main plot of Passing focuses on two light skinned black women, Irene Redfield and her old time friend Clare Kendry. Both women can pass as white women. Irene who is married to a successful African American doctor, passes only when it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Literary Criticism In Cardinal Richelieu Alfredo Camacho Dr. Fontes CLAS 5 3 October 2017 Book Review Poetry is a form of art that serves the purpose to express the writer s opinions, and also combat oppressive forces without the use of any physical force. These writers can relate to the expression by the playwright and novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton in the play Cardinal Richelieu, The pen is mightier than the sword (BBC); this expression serves as a metaphor in its own right as the nature describes the effect of words to provide a stronger impact on the intended audience than any kind of violence would. This term ties in perfectly with the ideas of Chicanx; the Chicanx perspective of life is oppression and the dangers of racial tensions and manners to dethrone those who impose that on others. They have long fought against the unfair forces that have come against them, and have been involved in many violent forms of protest. With Cesar Chavez becoming more invested in the peaceful form of protesting to gain trust and momentum in the campaigns they were in, more and more writers began to express their feelings and place their own two cents into the mixture of ideas. Often long stories are made in effort to express a personal form of how life is changing and growing fears are turning into, however some writers chose to use poetry as their version of a weapon against the oppressing forces. A poem is much shorter and does not provide the sufficient build up that can be placed into a Chicano novel, but the effect of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis Of Tell My Horse By Zora Neale Hurston In Zora Neale Hurtson s ethnography, Tell My Horse (1938), she uses her research and field notes from her year in the Caribbean islands to study how the political atmosphere and culture tie into the religion of Vodoun. Being one of the first in her field to study this religion, Hurston hoped to expand research upon the subtle nuances within the African diaspora and increase the people of Caribbean s acceptance of their African identity. In doing so, Hurtson found her research discouraged the idea of Pancaribbeanism and diminished stereotypes of Vodoun being a religion based upon only evil possession and pagan sacrifice. Her racial disposition as an African American also made many of the participants more comfortable discussing religious and social topics with her. Throughout her research, Hurston studied two main aspects of the Vodoun culture, those rituals and rites surrounding death, and those surrounding the idea of marriage. This stark contrast relates back to her main focus of her research and hopes of smashing the stereotype of Vodoun being an evil, pagan religion. One intriguing aspect that was present in a majority of her research was the basis of the culture and religion around orature. In orally passing traditions and rites through the generations, it ensures that with each family, generation, and especially island, that there are differences in how certain ceremonies are held. For example, during her observation of a family s funeral rites, Hurston asked many different family members how they spotted and trapped any stray duppies, or spirits, that may be around. To Hurston s surprise, each family member had a slightly different answer to both question, with some saying the way to spot a duppy was through suspicious, sneaking movements without eye contact, to as grotesque as foaming at the mouth. • 12. The Problem Of Low Back Pain Low back pain is one of the major causes for not only days lost at work, but also the early exit from the field of nursing. This can potentially be a major concern to address as policymakers and healthcare experts look to solve the nursing shortage problem. Project Back to Back is one initiative aimed at addressing this issue. It seeks to reduce the prevalence of low back pain experienced by nurses by introducing continual training in proper patient handling and Dru yoga classes to nurses working in the hospital facilities that are a part of the Mount Sinai Hospital System. In the United States, low back pain is singled out as the most common reason for time lost at work after the common cold, the third most common condition leading to surgical procedures, and the fifth most common reason for hospital visits (United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Healthy People 2020, n.d.). Reports show that musculoskeletal disorders account for approximately$240 billion in the United States annual healthcare expenditure, with over $100 billion going to treat low back pain alone (Crow Willis, 2009). Low back pain, according to Manek and MacGregor (2005), is defined as pain, muscle tension, or stiffness localized below the costal margin and above the inferior gluteal folds, with or without leg pain (sciatica) (p. 134). These sentiments could be seen across the country, and in worse cases citizens acted upon these notions. As Farwell recalled, Those bearing German names were often molested, and in places lynched. These views were commonly rooted in the belief that the German immigrants were spies, which was a nearly identical assumption the Young Turks made against their Armenian demographic. Nevertheless, these beliefs would dominate the American public throughout the war, and one cannot help but to theorize that the excessive propaganda and government intervention caused some of these biases to formulate in a small town like Tulsa. As it would be difficult not to want to defend one s country if the enemy being presented is of a barbaric gorilla rapaciously clutching onto a woman that symbolizes the Statue of Liberty. Even those who were illiterate in Tulsa would be able to discern from this poster that the enemy they were facing was not to be shown mercy or sympathy. It is important to note that All Quite on the Western Front is a work of fiction that is based on the events of the war, Were as Storm of Steel is memoir that is based on the events of Ernst Junger on the western front. Junger is criticized that he takes a positive stance on the war, were as Erich Remarque s novel tries to show the reality behind the war. The two authors believed the Great war had effects on those who fought in it through the influence of their perception of the war and how new technology had changed the way it is understood. The psychological implications on the soldiers were a direct link between survival, technology and their rural life style. This phenomenon can be seen in both Remarque and Jungar s works. The memoir describes Junger experiences without restraint which results in a graphic book. However, he constantly attempts to convey a position of noble courage in himself and his fellow soldiers, even when Junger experiences situations of true horror. An Example of this can be seen when he is marching into the Battle of the Somme, he seems more concerned with a clear description of the events rather than reacting to it. In certain situations it almost seems that he was relying only on his extinct rather than clearly processing what was happening. This was due to the constant exposure of enemy ... Sankhambi plays a big part in many Venda folktales and is very alike to Hlakanyana from Zulu Folklore. He takes on many different shapes and sizes in these tales but one thing for certain is wherever he is there is always trouble. This story is about how monkeys became tall, slender, quick, and nimble from being short, and fat. Back in the early days the monkeys were fat, little, pot bellied animals that moved rather slowly. They were not nearly as nimble or quick as they are today, and there body shape was much different. Sankhambi had a lot of fun sneaking up behind the monkeys and pulling their tails. Obviously the monkeys were not too happy about this and would throw seeds and bits at him from high in the tree tops while he lay there basking in the sun. Sankhambi hated the monkey business and one day he decided that he was going to put a stop to it. He approached the monkeys and said in his sweetest voice that he wanted to tell his dear monkey friends a big secret. The eldest monkey called out to the other monkeys not to listen to him, because it was just another one of his wicked tricks. William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branagh s and Gregory Doran s portrayals of the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlet s relationship with his mother Gertrude. Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom. On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and society while the dark blue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, when an idea is presented as a fact, it is outrageous, nothing is completely definite and everything is basically a theory. Marija Gimbutas was very passionate about the Goddess, in The Living Goddess, she says, The role of the father in prehistoric antiquity was either not fully understood or not as highly valued as that of the mother, (112). Nevertheless, the way that she presented her argument was not convincing. Gimbutas acted as though she knew the history of a civilization just by looking at the artifacts she found, she used her own research as her evidence to support her claims, and lastly she is guilty of letting her own ideas cloud her judgment. Throughout her work, Gimbutas appears to be omniscient claiming to know that there was a civilization in Old Europe that was matrifocal, peaceful and offered its citizens a higher quality of life. She paves the road for her peaceful utopia by defining the word civilization through the eyes of an archeologist, Historians have assumed that civilization implies a hierarchical political and religious organization, warfare, a class stratification, and a complex division of labor, (Gimbutas, The Civilization viii). Once she introduced the barbaric society that revolved around males she contrasts this by saying that gynocentric cultures did not revolve around petty superficial things that mattered in a patriarchal society (Gimbutas, The ... • 31. Comparing Shakespeare s Shall I Compare Thee to a... Poetry Comparison There are certain themes and ideas which appear over and over again in literature, no matter what the genre or form. Poems which were written centuries apart can echo similar ideas about life and humanity. Love is one such theme which presents itself repeatedly as seen in the poetry of William Shakespeare and that of Robert Burns. Each poem, though written more than two hundred years apart, explains what it feels like for the poet to feel love for the singular object of their affection. The poem Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer s Day by Shakespeare and Burns A Red, Red Rose share common images and themes with the intention of instilling in the reader the impression of their love and in explaining the depth of their emotion for the beloved as well as the respective poets ideas about the very nature of love and how it can be both passionately fulfilling and devastating. William Shakespeare s 18 Sonnet, more popularly known as the Shall I Compare Thee sonnet, is about a lover who is speaking to his beloved. Most sonnets serve this same function; to profess love from the sonneteer to some individual whom he loves. In these poems, the lover always uses the most amazing adjectives to describe the woman, or sometimes the man, that he loves. The poet describes every component of his beloved, such as her hair and her lips and her eyes. Although not a sonnet, Robert Burns poem has the same function; it is a love poem from the unnamed narrator to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Erik Erikson s Theory Of Development Susan is a sixty seven year old woman. She worked in human resources for a significant portion of her life, however, in her later middle adult life decided to return to school to study to be a registered nurse (RN). This was tough for Susan considering she was a mother of five her eldest being in her late twenties and her youngest in elementary school. When asked to reminisce over her life, Susan had numerous interesting stories from her life and shared much wisdom. If one analyzes Susan s lifespan interview using Erikson s theory, they will realize that she has always been conquering developmental conflict at each life stage. Before analyzing Susan s life, when one looks closely at Erik Erikson s theory, there are eight stages of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this developmental stage adults face generativity versus stagnation. In the last developmental stage, late adulthood, people encounter an integrity versus despair crisis (Coon Mitterer, 2015, p. 123 126). In addition, each stage has a virtue that is accomplished after the crisis has been resolved. This was just an overview to Erikson s developmental theory, however, it greatly assists the analyzation of Susan s life. To begin, this paper will not examine at the trust versus mistrust stage considering Susan cannot recollect being an infant. Therefore, beginning at the early childhood stage, Susan felt extremely self sufficient compared to her younger siblings; she remembers having bathroom accidents and incidents of bed wetting. Nevertheless, she remembers seeking her mother out and asking for assistance in the cleanup. Therefore, Susan clearly achieved autonomy over shame and doubt. The virtue earned here was will she was willing to seek support and admit wrongdoing. The subsequent stage is the middle childhood stage; this age is characterized by children being playful and commencement school. At this period, the crisis is initiative versus guilt. Susan showed initiative and made exceptional grades in preschool and elementary school and as stated previously she showed early signs of mastering appropriate times to be guilty. She was ambitious and determined to do outstanding in school and was remorseful when she did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fortunately, in my grandparent s huge neighborhood, there were three amazing girls that became my best friends. However, those girls were not enough to combat my loneliness. (Lorie amp; Savage, 1955, p. 229) In defining this problem, Lorie Savage structures it by outlining three separate scenarios: 1) Given the cost of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Lorie amp; Savage, 1955, p. 234) Turns out this is an Integer Programming optimization problem as it has identified constraints with the end output being to either accept an investment (using the integer 1), or decline (using the integer 0). Since the Lagrange Multipliers are real values, this is more specifically classified as a Mixed Integer Programming problem. (Trick, 1998) Their research proved to be revolutionary as this strayed from the traditional accepted method in using IRR, and this research has evolved since. One example of this is demonstrated where Seymour Kaplan introduced the concept of applying the Generalized Lagrange Multiplier (G.L.M.) method with Integer Programming, using the Lorie Savage problem as a basis for comparison, that found favorable results in the effectiveness of G.L.M. in producing optimal solutions using NPV to make investment decisions. (Kaplan, 1966, p. 1136) Building on this research was the introduction of using genetic algorithms (GA) to solve capital budgeting problems in allowing financial analysts to find optimal investment combinations for various situations, such as the multiple tax structures a company may encounter. (Berry amp; Manongga, 2006, p. 96) Expanding on the GA implementation was research conducted that incorporated fuzzy set theory on problems when investment parameters contained scant or vague information and therefore had great uncertainty. The indirect sound field originates at the critical distance of the room (point in the room where reverberant sound level and direct sound level are equal). If the child is within the critical distance (the direct sound field), reverberation will have minimal effects. Beyond the critical distance (the indirect sound field), however, these reflections can reduce speech perception ability. Speech perception scores decreases when the distance increases, till the critical distance of the room is reached (Crandell, 1991; Crandell Bess, 1986; Leavitt Flexer, 1991; Peutz, 1971). Lukewarmism In Revelation 3 In Revelation 3, Jesus criticizes the church of Laodicea for its lukewarm approach to the Christian lifestyle, wishing that His people were either cold or hot (15) and threatening that He would spit the lukewarm out of [His] mouth (17). What does it mean to be lukewarm, per say? In the context of Christianity, a lukewarm church is one that, although they claim to be in communion with Christ, simultaneously indicate through their pursuit of wealth, prestige, and power that they reject the notion of denying themselves, taking up the cross of Christ, and following Him (Mark 8:34). This decision of committing oneself to Christ involves much more than simply believing in Him; rather, it involves a commitment that is radically willing to bring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An example of society developing in Australia is how the Australian flag design has changed over time and had things like the Southern Cross added to it. Not only has the Australian flag changed, but immigration has also changed Australia s society since colonisation. Women being able to vote was yet another major change to Australia and its society. And according to seventy five percent of Americans, Today s youth are less virtuous and industrious than their elders (Rampell 388). The older generation views our willingness to use these advancements as working smart, and not hard , which in their minds, makes it seem like we prefer to take the easy way out. This is more than often not the case! I am sure that if millennials did not make use of our resources, some would consider us to be ungrateful . • 40. Salaries And Compensation Packages Should Be Regulated 1. Introduction Currently, there is an increasing argument about whether CEOs salaries and compensation packages have become excessive, consequently, should be regulated. According to the High Pay Centre (n.d., as cited in, West, 2016) and the Tim Bush (n.d., as cited in, West, 2016), chief executives from FTSE 100 received a salary of £4.96m a year which is 180 times more than the average UK employees . This essay argues that the compensation and salaries for chief executives are excessive, therefore, should be regulated. In this essay, the reasons for why CEOs compensation is excessive will first be argued, then the stakeholders power and influences on companies performances will be discussed. 1. Excessive compensation It is believed that there has been an extraordinary growth of CEOs salaries in recent years, which could lead to an excessive compensation (Mishel and Davis, 2015). It could be augured that the high pay for CEOs is simply a reflection of the market for skills (Bebchuk and Fried, 2004, as cited in Mishel and Divis, 2015). Kaplan (as cited in Mishel and Divis, 2015), who published an economic research working paper in 2012 claimed that the high salary for CEO is not unique, as other groups with similar backgrounds have also seen a dramatic growth in their salaries. For example, the salaries for corporate lawyers and hedge fund investors have also increased significantly. As a result, the rising CEOs pay might be a result of a competitive market for ... I think that Fahrenheit 451 was a great book. The plot of story is Guy Montag starts out as a average fireman who loves doing his job, which is burning books. He s married and lives a normal lifestyle in an unspecified city in a society where reading is illegal, and being intellectual is frowned upon. That would be the exposition of the story. On his way home from work one day, he meets a curious lady named Clarisse, who tells that she loves reading and nature. Clarisse gave Montag a desire to change society s way of thinking for the better, and eventually the curiosity spreads to Montag and he begins to steal books. This would be the rising action. At this moment he questions the ethics of the society he lives in. That would be the main conflict. His wife and boss eventually find out what he s doing, so firemen stop in front of the salamanders own house, raid his home, finding and burning down all the books. Montag kills Beatty with a flamethrower. This would be the climax. Knowing something like this would happen, Montag flees for his life. Montag follows the directions given to him by Faber and finds a band of men devoted to the same cause preserving the truth of book. In the end, Montag is rescued by a community of people, each of whom introduces himself as the title of a book they ve memorized. That would be the denouement.
