Donald Trump Political Scandal
There once was a young man named Rod. Rod had worked hard for the majority of his life. He was
born into a poorer family in Chicago. He took odd jobs growing up and later in life went into politics.
His life was looking up he had made a name for himself and decided to run for Governor. He won and
was then given a chance to decide who would fill the new president s seat in the senate. Instead of
picking a member of his party, or picking the most qualified candidate he decided to accept a bribe,
almost like a payment, for the seat. Now one might recognize this story. It s the story of Rod
Blagojevich, the former Illinois Governor who was impeached from office under an unanimous vote,
and imprisoned for 14 years on many charges including corruption. There are a few things that make
news headlines what the Kardashians are doing, Donald Trump s new racist claim, and Political
Scandals. Corruption is spreading so fast. It s almost moving faster than the flu through a kindergarten
classroom.
It is known the the people elect to run this country are abusing their power. If an example is needed
just look at everyone s best friend: Richard Nixon. He did a really good job at covering up his
corruption. If only the guys didn t mess up Watergate he would have finished his second term.

Donald Trump once said, I gave to many people, before this, before two months ago, I was a
businessman. I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And do you know what? When I need
something from them two years later, three years later, I call them, they are there for me. And that s a
broken system. Even the man who is committing this act would come out and say that what he is
saying is corrupt. Furthermore we still see that people are using this way to achieve the office that they

Historical Events In Beowulf
events in the poem take place in the late 5th century, A.D., after the Anglo Saxons had started their
journey to England, and before the beginning of the 7th century, a time when the Anglo Saxon people
were either newly arrived or still in close contact with their Germanic kinsmen in Northern Germany.
The poem may have been brought to England by people of Geatish origins.[8] It has been suggested
that Beowulf was first composed in the 7th century at Rendlesham in East Anglia, as the Sutton Hoo
ship burial also shows close connections with Scandinavia, and also that the East Anglian royal
dynasty, the Wuffings, may have been descendants of Geatish Wulfings.[9][10] Others have associated
this poem with the court of King Alfred, or with the court of King Cnut.[11][pages needed]

Scholars generally agree that many of the personalities of Beowulf also appear in Scandinavian
sources (specific works designated in the following section).[12] This does not only concern people
(e.g., Healfdene, Hroðgar, Halga, Hroðulf, Eadgils and Ohthere), but also clans (e.g., Scyldings,
Scylfings and Wulfings) and some of the events (e.g., the Battle on the Ice of Lake Vänern). The
dating of the events in the poem has been confirmed by archaeological excavations of the barrows
indicated by Snorri Sturluson and by Swedish tradition as the graves of Ohthere (dated to c. 530) and
his son Eadgils (dated to c. 575) in

The True Beauty Of Religion
Since the dawn of civilization, religious practices and rituals have greatly impacted various societies
around the world. Religion is intertwined with almost every aspect of life, ranging from culture, to
politics and can even be found in basic social interactions. Regardless of how religious one may be the
impact it has on each individual s life is significant. The true beauty of religion is the fact that there is
no set definition, allowing for each region of the world to interpret and practice their beliefs in their
own manner. Naming a newborn child is considered a significant rite of passage in numerous religions

Due to their strong faith, the Jewish community continually looks to uphold God s laws, attempting to
bring holiness to each aspect of their daily lives.
It is important to note that there are sects within Judaism, stemming from cultural nuances and
geographic location. This means that there are different rituals and practices between the various sects
within Judaism. Chabad is one of the world s most known Chasidic movements and is well known for
its outreach in the community. It is the largest Jewish religious organization in the world. The Chabad
movement represents an intellectual, spiritual school of thought established and led by a dynasty of
Hasidic Rabbis. Founded in the late eighteenth century, the Chabad movement originated in Eastern
Europe. Chabad Hasidic philosophy focuses on religious and spiritual concepts such as God, the soul,
and the meaning of the Jewish commandments. Though there are several sacred traditions and rites in
Judaism, the baby rite is one of the most significant events of the religion. The Chabad movement
within Judaism has their own secular beliefs about the name rite of a newborn child. The Chabad

Opportunities in renewable energy in tourism Our initial assessment for The Birchwood Hotel down
town St. Petersburg focused on examining key areas for sustainable building practices consistent with
Green Key guidelines. The areas assessed were corporate environmental management, housekeeping,
conference and meeting spaces, food and beverage, engineering and maintenance. Summing up the
condition of each system served as a target for the property owners to make improvements for their
short and long term needs that will align the property s mission and goals to be more in line with
Energy Conservation and Sustainable Business practices. The refurbished property has been able to
achieve its own décor and exclusive identity, but after the assessment was graded, it was only able to

Happiness In Albert Camus The Myth Of Sisyphus
Albert Camus understanding of happiness is explained through his perspective of The Myth of
Sisyphus.Towards the end of the story, Sisyphus punishment for forsaking the orders of Pluto was to
push a large rock up a mountain for all eternity. The Greeks believed this to be the cruelest punishment
a mortal could be given. The idea of a meaningless task being done over and over again is what some
might call absurd. One might think that happiness is not possible in such circumstances. A moment of
gratification cannot be seen as something desirable if the same task is to be repeated. However, Camus
believes otherwise. the purpose is achieved... and Sisyphus watches the stone rush down in a few
moments toward lower world whence he will have to push it up again toward the summit. He goes
back down to the plain. (4) The significance of Sisyphus going down the mountain to repeat his task is
explained by Camus. Through accepting the meaningless task, Sisyphus also accepts his unfair fate.
He is calm and at peace with himself despite the absurdity of his punishment. It could be understood
that although the task may be meaningless, Sisyphus is able accept his fate and continue to move ...

A virtue is a state of character that sits on the mean between excess and deficiency. He believes
happiness is about having balance in life. The extremes of states of characters are called vices. Vices
are states of character that a person would usually not be proud of, like greed or envy. However,
having vices is not improbable. Aristotle said, For moral excellence is concerned with pleasures and
pains; it is on account of the pleasure that we do bad things and on account of the pain that we abstain
from noble ones (3). People will often fray into their vices to obtain monetary happiness. Although
Aristotle believes being virtuous is what is needed to be sustainably happy, even he understands that

Essay on Why did King Charles I Resort to Personal Rule in...
Why did King Charles I Resort to Personal Rule in 1629? The Personal Rule came about when King
Charles I dissolved parliament in 1629. It was symbolic of a time when the King felt that any joint
governing of the country was impossible. Right from the start of Charles reign, relations had been
poor with Parliament. But the time leading up to the start of the Personal Rule, or the Eleven Year
Tyranny as it is sometimes referred, marked a low point. So for what reasons did Charles embark on
the Personal Rule, and whose fault was it? These issues will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
The broad overall reason for the collapse of relations between Parliament and the King is the conflict

An obvious reason why Parliament could not work with the King was Charles deep emotional
problems. Although this is not the most important reason, it is nevertheless an important one that
cannot be overlooked. Charles was a deeply insecure man. His insecurity had roots in his childhood,
where he was seen as the runt of the litter, and very much outshone by his older brother Henry.
Perhaps his hard line approach of being unwilling to compromise or negotiate was because he lacked
the emotional intelligence and confidence to reason with people effectively. In reality, this was
probably a culmination of his strong belief in the Divine Right of Kings and his lack of confidence. In
his history of the period, the Earl of Clarendon cited a major reason for Charles personality problems
at not trusting himself enough . The King s speeches to Parliament lacked conviction, largely due to a
constant stutter that he had possessed since birth. At a time when mastery of oral communication was
seen as a sign of prestige, this speech impediment affected him in many ways, and would have
contributed to his lack of confidence. He was also of slight appearance, only five foot four, and
therefore lacked the assertiveness to ensure he was

Thesis statement: Middle Eastern and North African clothing culture is distinguished from other
cultures by the veil, a clothing that provokes many reactions from authors and debates between the
Western and Eastern people.
Subject:
The main topic of this text is the veil in North African and Middle Eastern regions. Western people
and Middle Eastern people do not share the same opinion about its use, while the occidental region
considers it as a simple cloth, sometimes it is even considered as humiliating, the Middle Eastern
region gives an important value to it due to its religious and historical significance. Many authors from

Concerning the social context, honor and respect are two significant values that the hijab represents.
By wearing the hijab, a woman is less likely to be attractive to men and being approached by them,
she creates a barrier that implements respect between her and another person, by consequent, she
preserves her sexual chastity and keeps the family s honor intact. This is an important detail in the
Middle East culture; honor is more a group matter than an individual matter, and in this case, honor s
family is related to women s sexual abstinence before marriage; in case the honor is lost, it can t be
regained.
Another aspect of the veil is the identity value, many women from different countries affirmed they
feel that the veil is part of them; it is so important for them that many women [...] feel self conscious,
vulnerable, and even naked when they first walked on a public street without the veil [...] as if they
were making a display of themselves paragraph 22
Despite all the values that the hijab is representing in different countries of the world, the only value
that is demanded is the egalitarianism and justice value, whether a woman is wearing the veil or not,
they are calling for equal access to divorce, child custody, and inheritance; equal opportunities for
education and employment; and abolition of

Goodbye to All That Analytical Essay
A Fair City
I could speak of Joan Didion s use of rhetorical devices. I could describe every subtle simile she
imposes and preach of her incredible use of personification, but I think the most important piece of the
essay would, then, be neglected. In Goodbye to All That, Didion compares her experiences in New
York to the occurrences at a fair. This metaphor is discussed in a very roundabout way. Ultimately,
though, Didion (like anybody) grew tired and dissatisfied with the fair (in her case NYC). Fairs lure
people in through the gates with bright lights, loud buzzers, and exhilarating games. These same
tactics help to attract tourists to New York City. Like a kid at a fair, Didion becomes enticed by such
distractions and cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She admits, Even that late in the game I still liked going to parties, all parties, bad parties (p.687). The
connection to the fair in this case stems from a child s ability to be so keyed up and eager to play as
many games as they can, that they will even play games they do not like. Bad games (Intentional
fragment). This view and interest of the city, this time at the fair, ends. The ending is not a definite
point in time, but instead a gradual distaste for the details. Like the same child at the same fair, at the
same time, every year, Didion outgrows the city and is no longer intrigued. She states, I stopped
believing in new faces (p.687) and realizes, It is distinctively possible to stay too long at the Fair
(p.687). She cannot stand the identical conversations at Grand Central, the stuck up women on
Madison Ave., Times Square, or the New York Public Library. Eventually, Didion avoids these places.
Like a boy who has outgrown the annual fair, she promises to return after a six month leave of
absence. Three years after Didion made that promise, she finds herself returning to the fair. Back in
New York, she realizes her acquaintances are no more and her friends had moved. She states, We
stayed for ten days, and then we took the afternoon flight back to Los Angeles (p.688). Boys, a couple
years removed from the correct age for attending the fair, promise to return. Sometimes they do return
and sometimes they do not. Like Didion did, they

To Kill A Mockingbird Should Be Banned Essay
The Banning for To Kill a Mockingbird
The book called To Kill a Mockingbird was written by a great author Harper Lee. The book had won
the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. It sold over millions of copies, and was one of the favorite novels in 1999.
The book was known to make a difference in people s lives, but then soon became known to be
banned in many other states. It was also was celebrated for Banned Books Week because they didn t
agree with the decision. There are three most important points of the research for the banning of to kill
a mockingbird. First the reasons why it was banned or challenged. Second, why this novel shouldn t
be banned, and third, the mitigating measures for the book to be available for students.
The novel was banned in 2011 and 2009 because of the use of profanity, racial slurs, and rape. In the
years of 2002 2012 the novel was challenged in local high schools and middle schools. One school

According to Bowen Family Systems Therapy, a healthy family functioning has low anxiety, high
levels of differentiation of self, and contact with family members. However, problems occur when
there are underlying problems of emotional fusion passed from generation to generation and the
amount of stress exceeds family s ability to manage it. Patterns are meant to solve the problem of
anxiety. Most commonly a genogram is used, which allows others to see emotional bonds between
people involved and the clients learn to think systemically to explore their own contribution to conflict

What It Takes To Follow Jesus Christ
How can I follow Christ? A question asked often. Since the time of Jesus, people have been drawn to
him. These people glare at scripture for direction. Often, they become misguided and will abandon
scripture s special revelation. This exegetical paper will discover the constant power of scripture. The
saying of Jesus within Matthew 16:24 28 will be studied. The literary and historical contexts of the
passage will be deduced. Finally, exegesis on all five verses will be done. How does one follow
Christ? Will the literary context of this passage affect its interpretation? These questions and more will
be answered below.

A heavy weight on the end times for those struggling to cope with the loss of their great temple would
be logical.
Jesus commands whoever follows him to deny himself and take up his cross and follow me (him). The
disciples would have likely been familiar with the imagery take up his cross would have implied.
Traditionally, crucifixion was a favored Roman torture and execution method from the time of
Alexander the Great to Constantine. After extensive flogging, the convicted person would be forced to
carry his own cross crossbar. The patibulum (crossbar), weighing around one hundred pounds, was
tied to the convict s outstretched arms as he made his way to his own execution. This would obviously
be an excruciatingly painful task. This is most certainly the image the disciples thought of when Jesus
was speaking to them.
Exegesis
Since the literary and historical contexts of this passage have already been taken into account, a proper
exegesis of Matthew 16:24 28 can be done. In the process, certain questions about the passage will be
answered. What does it mean for someone to be repaid according to what he has done? How does this
passage contribute to eschatological studies? How do the subtle nuances of this passage affect the
meaning? What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ?

Paradigms in The Big Lebowski Essay
Paradigms in The Big Lebowski The Big Lebowski
According to Robert B. Ray s The Thematic Paradigm, classical Hollywood develops character(s that)
magically embody diametrically opposite traits (299). This method is used to appeal to a collective
American imagination steeped in myths of inclusiveness (299). In other words, characters that portray
a wide variety of traits, in many cases opposite traits, appeal to the American audience by embodying
a portion of each viewer in the character. This method is clearly portrayed through the characters in
the movie, The Big Lebowski.

there s some question about whether Bunny is really in any danger.
In this movie, The Dude, embodies contradicting characteristics. At one point, he is lazy, mellow,
carefree, while at critical moments he is conscientious and assertive. Throughout the movie glimpses
of these traits are shown. The first scene for instance, introduces us to the Dude, the bum. He is in a
grocery store when he opens a carton of milk, smells it, and then proceeds to drink it. Then when he is
checking out he writes a check for a total of .87 cents. This epitomizes the deadbeat. We immediately

The Life of Gabriel Garcia Marquez Exposed in His Works
The majority of literary critics would not hesitate in praising the works

This story is essentially a saga, telling the story of the creation

important themes with fantasy tales one describes a birth of a child between

Choosing An Online Survey And Collect Responses
Instead of interviewing four people, I decided to make an online survey and collect responses because
I was at home for Thanksgiving. As a result I got more responses, and I think people were more honest
as well. I also allowed for the respondents to choose whether they have majority or minority status. I
had nine responses, three identifying as minority status, five as majority status, and one student who
was not sure, since he/she/they fell into multiple target groups but reported that she didn t experience
any discrimination. There were some interesting discrepancies, since one female student reported that
she was a minority, and another reportedly felt she was in the majority. At RIT, the distribution of
gender differs by program, so this could be a reason why this discrepancy exists. None of the students
who identified themselves as having majority status reported experiencing any discrimination
themselves, and neither did the one female student who identified as a minority but fell into no other
target groups. One respondent, a self identified conservative, Catholic white male chose to identify as
a minority group. I thought this made sense since college campuses tend to be liberal, so conservatives
are sometimes considered to be minorities. I thought about adding a checkbox for ideological
minorities to my target group list when I first made my survey, but I was concerned that anyone might
have a reason to check that box, since everyone s ideologies vary to some

Creativity and art is becoming such a rising normality in our everyday culture. A new mural with a

Young People Need To Be Done In The World Today
In the world today, there are many things that are needed to be done in the lives of people and in the
environment. This world needs leaders and people who are willing to stand up for things that need to
be done to make this world better. For instance, there are many young people today who are being
influenced in the wrong way, such as smoking, selling drugs, and sex, that is leading them down the
wrong path for their future. Imagine if a team of leaders are engaging with the young people to help
them enjoy life and leading them down the right path to be very successful in the future. As a result,
this would bring tremendous impact to the world on the youth. Even though, this is not the only thing
that needs to be done in the world today, this

Cinderella Analysis
For centuries, the fairy tale Cinderella, that everyone has come to know and love has been told in
many different countries and in a variety of ways. Although each story is different, they all have
similar meaning and each one demonstrates how universal the Cinderella story is, as well as how
unique each version is to the particular culture out which it grew (Tam and Cam, 2012 Pg 194). Little
girls all over the world are told some type of Cinderella story and they grow up dreaming that one day
they ll be a princess just like the characters in the stories. They will find their prince charming to
sweep them off their feet. However, these manipulative stories tend to teach girls that they do not need

Along with the false message of beauty, there is this idea that your life can just magically become
better with the snap of your fairy god mothers fingers. The problem with this idea is that there is no
such thing as a fairy god mother in real life. There should not be a single woman out there who waits
on someone else to make their future better Fairy tales are more fables that transform lives with
supernatural events. Modern versions of Cinderella grant her wishes without requiring her to take all
active role in determining her future (Coady, 2009 Pg 4). Every girl should be taking steps today to
become a better person and improve her live for tomorrow. Over generations, fairy tales and folk
stories have given the wrong impression to their audiences and since they are classics these stories are
continuously passed down. Every young girl can remember a times in their life when Cinderella was,
indeed, the women they wanted to become. The fancy dresses, marvelous lifestyle, and a Prince
Charming to keep them safe. Even though there is many different versions of this story, the same
message is clear throughout all of them. Each country or culture may change a few minor details
within the fairy tale, but the men always manage to save the women and become the hero. In a sense,
this story is teaching girls all over the world that they cannot be independent or successful on their
own. In reality, this is incorrect, women of all ages can be successful and support

Social And Cultural Geography Research
Choose two journal articles* and consider what these articles tell us about:
a) the socially constructed, spatially contingent and performative aspects of social identities and b) the
practice of doing social and cultural geography research.
Social and cultural geography is an area of study that has become increasingly popular within
Geography. With the expansion of multi cultural societies and the increased diversification of cultures
in addition to cultural practice, globally research into social and cultural geographies has boomed.
These two diverse fields have risen in popularity among geographers and academics; meaning there is
a significant amount of research and academic papers on this broad area of study. The fact is since the
evolution of post structuralist ideas in the mid 20th century, in addition to postcolonial, and feminist
study around the 1990s. A shift from an emphasis on identity to difference in geographical literature
has become apparent. Geographers have since engaged more frequently with gender, sexuality, race ,
and class differences, by investigating how they are constituted in relation to peoples and places. This
has brought about vast levels of research casing all social identities. However for the purpose of this
essay, I will be focusing on the social identities of Gender and Race as both social and cultural
attitudes in these areas have transformed immensely in the last century. As previously mentioned there
is a vast amount of

Causes Of The Opium Wars
The Opium Wars were a series of conflicts that eventually led to China s decline through the trade and
abuse of the drug opium. The first of the Opium Wars (1839 42) was fought between China and
Britain, and the second war (1856 1860) involved France as well. In both wars, the foreign powers
triumphed over China, causing havoc, causing the fall of the Qing dynasty. Prior to the Opium Wars,
China was full of rich culture, remarkable goods, and useful inventions. They had invented
gunpowder, kites, and porcelain, all of which were in demand. The Qing dynasty had believed that
they were superior to other countries, and refused to let any foreigners access any Chinese territory.

The amount of people using the drug soon increased as well due to the large amount of opium that
soon became available throughout the country. The addictive nature also began to cause people to
want, or even need, more and more of the drug, ensuring that it would be a continuous market for
Britain. The amount of addicts skyrocketed to 12 million at one point, which soon led to a ban on the
drug by Lin Zexu, commissioner of China. Zexu arrested dealers, seized crates of the drug, and then
dumped 2.6 million pounds of it into the ocean. This was another cause for the opium war, as his
actions angered British traders who were not able to get compensation from the British government.
Overall, China s strict trading techniques, in addition to the way they responded to the problem was
one of the main causes of the opium wars. Another main cause for the opium wars was China s unfair
trade superiority. Prior to the opium wars, China was the leading trade nation for the world, with its
long distance trade reaching many different area of the world, such as Southern Asia, the Middle East,
and even Europe. China had the most commercial ships out of anybody in the world up to the 19th
century, which helped expand its already large economy. China s goods were in high demand, as they
had paper, firearms, tool, silk, tea, porcelain, and much more, making them the world s superpower for
trade. By only accepting silver for these items, China began to have

Parking Problems At The New Residence Halls
Parking on campus is a recurring problem throughout the years, but the most recent of these problems
has evolved into a catastrophe for and not so much for others. As the fall term came into place, more
and more parking was taken away for the new residence halls. Students regularly admit to hoping
other students would hurry and drop some of their classes, or that the students will go ahead and stop
coming to lectures so there is more parking available and less of a burden. However, the burden of
circling parking lots and the never ending loop of frustrating continues on for the fall term and more is
to come with the lack of parking the campus wishes to offer. The OU Daily has released statements in
articles concerning the matter. The new residence halls will also provide a parking garage or parking
lot in which has a capacity of 1200 1300 parking spots. This is a nice edition for the lack of parking,
but the new residence hall took the place of an old parking lot which held the capacity of 500 600
parking spots. Yes, the parking is nearly doubled, but what good will that doubled number do in
comparison to the number of students (approximately twenty two times the quantity of parking spaces
provided in said lot). The new residence halls may further establish a slightly more extensive parking
lot than previously seen on campus, but the couple hundred more spots available is minuscule in
comparison to the quantity of students and faculty members at the university. The amount

Flannery O’Connor s Revelation and the Power of Religion...
Flannery O Connor believed in the power of religion to give new purpose to life. She saw the fall of
the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters
who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach,
she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence
and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. In her story Revelation, the protagonist, Mrs. Turpin, acts
sanctimoniously, but ironically the virtue that gives her eminence is what brings about her downfall.

O Connor is careful to be vague and creates an ambiguous atmosphere so the reader has no option
other than to perpetuate the stereotype. Her descriptions of people as dirty, ugly, white trash, and
nigger demonstrates her prejudice. Though this Southern Christian white woman is superficially
pleasant and well mannered, she conceals her ugly thoughts of class stratum cognizant of what is
below her pedestal. A church going woman who treats slaves fairly, she believes her time volunteered
and philosophy of doing things for others are enough to sanctify her ugliness on the inside. The
omniscient narrator observes that Mrs. Turpin felt at awful pity... it was one thing to be ugly and
another to act ugly (473) Ironically, Mrs. Turpin is the one who acts ugly. Arrogant about her station in
life, when faced to choose between a nigger or white trash she would plead with Jesus to let [her] wait
until there s another place available (472). Silently judging others she is pleased to not be anything
less socially acceptable than she already is, and often occupies herself at night classifying people. Mrs.
Turpin believed that you had to have certain things before you could know certain things; this
consequently places her on a higher plane (474). A normal day in the waiting room leads to an
unforeseen altercation, and ultimately an epiphany for Mrs. Turpin. A character named Mary Grace

Reaction Time Lab Report
How does temperature affect reaction time? As the temperature of a substance is heated, the substance
gains more energy and the particles of that substance move faster. When an Alka Seltzer tablet is
dropped into the water, the particles of the water collide with the particles of the tablet more often
with more energy than water of a lower temperature, which contains less energy (Effect of
Temperature on Reaction Rate). Reaction rate can be changed/controlled by the amount of energy in
the substance and how often the molecules collide (Factors Affecting the Speed Rates of Chemical
Reactions). When temperature is increased, the activation energy is increased, which is the cause of
the chemical reaction. The activation energy is the minimum ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hyperkalemia is an Imbaland of Serum Potassium
Hyperkalemia is a common electrolyte imbalance characterized by elevated serum potassium.
Hyperkalemia is defined as serum potassium concentrations greater than 5.5 mmol/L (normal range is
3.5 to 5.0 mmol/L). In the body, ninety eight percent of potassium is intracellular, and the 2 % left is
extracellular which is needed for nerve conduction and muscle contraction. For this reason,
extracellular potassium concentration is tightly regulated through renal potassium excretion. Up to
90% of dietary intake of potassium is excreted by the kidney. As kidney function declines, the kidney
compensates and aldosterone levels increase in order to boost potassium excretion. However,
compensatory mechanisms may become overwhelmed, and result in hyperkalemia (Raymond Wazny,
2010). Potassium plays an important role in nerve and muscle function. As a result of this role,
abnormalities in serum potassium may trigger membrane excitability and considerable nerve, muscle
and cardiac dysfunction leading to ventricular arrhythmias and subsequently sudden cardiac death. It
is estimated that between 1% and 10% of patients admitted to a hospital experience hyperkalemia,
with a mortality rate of 1 per 1,000 (Raymond Wazny,2010).
Causes of Hyperkalemia Many causes of hyperkalemia are seen in clinical practice. The most typical
causes are: renal disease, and also the consumption of medications that predispose the patient to
hyperkalemia (Parham, W.; Mehdirad,

Surgical Weight Loss
The Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital (BAACH) is committed to your care. Surgical weight
reduction is a major decision and should not be taken lightly.
2. Surgery and Weight Loss:
Obesity surgery helps you lose weight by changing the way your body digests and absorbs food. Your
body digests food to break down what you eat into small pieces of nutrients. When the pieces are
small enough, the cells of your body absorb the nutrients to give you energy.
Normally, digestion and absorption begin in the stomach, continue through the small intestine and end
in the large intestine, which digests and absorbs what it can and eliminates the rest as waste. Obesity
surgery involves making changes to the stomach and/or small intestine.

Symbolism Of The Apple In Jeanne Duprau s The Giver
Symbol
In The Giver, the apple symbolizes difference. The symbol of the apple occurs in the story when Jonas
and Asher are playing catch when ...suddenly Jonas had noticed ... the apple had changed (30). By
looking at this quotation, we see that Jonas is an imperfection in the genetic engineering because he
can see color. Somehow the committee notices this and makes Jonas a receiver and hides him away
with the Giver in the annex room. This is important because in this community everything is perfect.
Perfect in The Giver is no choice because without choice there is no war, fighting, or even small
arguments, but also no emotion. Going back to the symbolism of the apple, it represents how Jonas is
different from the rest of the community in how he can see beyond. The community may look utopian
from the outside but from the inside it really is dystopian because there is no choice, they kill babies
and the elderly, and you aren t even allowed to choose who you marry and how many kids you have.
Imagery
In The City of Ember the future is very bleak and lackluster. Blackouts and the depletion of necessary
items such as light bulbs puts a really dark and broken down image in one s head. The author, Jeanne
DuPrau describes the city as falling apart and in need of repair: They must not leave the city for at
least 200 years (1). By looking at this quotation, we can see that the people of Ember needed to leave
around more than half a century ago because 200 years was the

Influential People Today
In the society we live in today, our thought processes are different than what they were a decade or
two ago. We live in the cinematic age as they call it, and in this time it is quite difficult to have
positive influences as the world faces destruction, neglect, and hatred. As a little boy not
understanding the world, I would have assumed that most people were somewhat influential.
However, as I aged into the young man I am today, I understand that being influential person takes a
certain individual. An individual who has the moral code of willingness to help others effectively
while asking for nothing in return but their happiness. Besides my parents and some family members I
can simply say with all that is occurring in our time, there is not one person I can truly admire today.

the statue of Aphrodite, and the Marble female figure. The sculptures in this section range in different

Kings, Queens, Gods and Goddesses of the time. Much of the statues in this section are missing key

Baroque Music
In researching musical eras that have greatly influenced music, there are two that have stood out. The
Baroque Era and Classical Era have generated artists that are well known. Both eras play an important
part of history with artists who have influenced artists of today. In this essay, there will be a discussion
on both types of music and differences of each. This discussion will also include a discussion on

Baroque is a musical era that falls between two other important eras in music. These two eras of music
are the Renaissance Era and the Classical Era. This is roughly a period between the 1600s and 1750.
The era of Baroque music was one that showed spectacular progress of knowledge with scientific
discoveries, mathematical advances, and philosophical explorations (Thornburg, 2014). The music
from this era can still be recognized today. Music from the Baroque period is the earliest European
music which we still generally recognize, whether it is the theme from Masterpiece Theater, the
Hallelujah Chorus from Handel s Messiah, or any number of other pieces (Thornburg, 2014) . Most of
the Baroque music of that time was written on demand for specific occasions by those who thought of

Sexual Orientation And The Workplace
Sexual Orientation Discrimination in the Workplace
Nelson Mandela once stated, To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.
Every human being should have the same opportunities as each other, no matter their skin color,
background, sexual orientation, career, religion, gender, or socioeconomic status. We were all given
the same human rights when we were born in the U.S., but it seems as if that is gradually taken away
from us, as we begin to stop fitting into the picture society has made for us. Many LGBT+ workers are
denied their human rights when opening up about themselves in a workplace. Sexual Orientation
effects people s stance in the workplace as a result, those whose sexual orientation do not fit the
societal norms have unequal; benefits or opportunities, wages, treatment, and lack from non
discrimination protections.
Discrimination in the workplace occurs all over the world for many different reasons, yet sexual
orientation is one of the least discussed topics. According to Emir Ozeren, In the workforce, LGBT+
employees are one of the least examined minority groups, even though they are one of the largest
groups of people in the workplace .( Sexual Orientation Discrimination in Workplace: A systematic ).

The Problem Of Housing In College Housing
Assignment 10 Housing is one of the most pressing issues facing communities today. It effects
practically all demographics, especially students, minorities, and low income workers. College towns
are often face the toughest challenges, with many students experiencing an extremely high cost of
living. Without a detailed housing plan drafted by community members there is no chance of
improving the conditions of housing or their related expenditures. So, what should be done about
housing in college towns? How can we hope to provide for a municipality s citizens while keeping
costs down? Can neighboring institutions and cities assist or should they give communities the
autonomy to improve themselves? The answers, I hope, will be found within the rest of this essay. The
problems that arise from housing are numerous. Housing takes up more than half of all real property
tax. Not only that, it s also the largest issue in a family s budget. The federal government spent $38
billion in preferential subsidies and $2 trillion on housing in total in the year 2006. Rigid zoning codes
prohibit certain types of housing from being built. This prevents some citizens from being provided
with homes that fit their budget and ads to the chronic problem of homelessness our communities face.
Too many houses can crowd neighborhoods and make transit difficult. They can also obstruct view
and, when foreclosed upon, lead to plummeting property values. Some solutions could be proposed to

faced by Cohen and because of these charges, the legal team settles the case at a huge price.
Afterward, the company and Cohen separated their ways entirely. Despite this major issue that Cohen
has faced, he is still a very active member of the financial community, and considered as one of the
best hedge funds manager in the United States by many.
The significant finding from this article is that the world of finance is a very strange world. This world
can offer opportunities to many, and at the same time, it can prove to be a mess for the others. Many
people are not corrupt in their person, but by being negligent or by being careless, they fail at doing
their duty successfully at some points in time. However, what the article talks about is the complete
picture. Steven A Cohen faced a problem. He got entangled in an enormous financial mess.
However, not only did he face the charges, he tried to resolve the issues as positively as possible.
Because of his efforts, he could resume his career as a financial hedge funds expert very soon.
Usually, once a person faced such charges, his or her job is over. When it comes to Cohen, he
approached the problem in a very different way by hiding behind the

David Mcclelland And Motivational Needs Theory
McClelland (1917 1998) and motivational needs theory
A doctor of psychology, David McClelland pioneered workplace motivational thinking, developed
achievement based motivational theory and promoted improvements in employee assessment
methods. He is best known for describing three types of motivational need which he identified in his
book, The Achieving Society (1961)
Achievement motivation
A person with strong motivational need for achievement need will seek to reach realistic and
challenging goals and job advaancement. They thrive on overcoming difficult problems or situations.
People motivated by achievement work very effectively either alone or with other high achievers.

The desire to control others is powerful motivating force the need to be influential, effective and to
make an impact. There is a strong leadership instinct and when authority is gained over others, it
brings personal status and prestige. As they enjoy competition, they do well with goal orientated
projects or tasks. They may also be very effective in negotiations or in situations in which
Mc Gregor s Theory X and Theory Y
According to Mc Gregor s studies conducted in 1950 s,one of the most important determinants of
success of a business is the attitude of managers to workers. He identified two distinct management
approaches to the workforce and he called it Theory X and Theory Y.
Theory X
Theory X mangers tend to take a pessimistic view of their subordinates and assume that they are
naturally demotivated and dislike work. As a result, they think they need to be prompted, rewarded or
punished constantly to make sure that they complete their tasks. This in turn encouraged centralised
management style.
The manager assumes that their subordinates :
 Dislike their work.
 Avoid responsibility and need constant direction.
 Have to be controlled, forced and threatened to deliver work.
 Need to be supervised at every

Power Snack
Economic Feasibility
After reviewing the economic feasibility of in power snacks. When determining the project cost and
the revenue projections, there are many aspects to consider. When elevating the startup cost without
paying any type of the utilities or for rent. The start up cost will be closely around $5700. This will
contain a small amount of reserves with equipment, material supplies beginning inventory, operating
cost, business license, advertisement and miscellaneous expense. This is a small start up cost and
seems to be very logically stable to start Empower Snacks program. Although, when projecting
revenue logically, when manufacturing everything manually with an inexperienced staff, the period to
manufacture these items for consumption will be instituted at a greater degree than common
manufacturing periods.
When examining the revenue projections, having a 12 hour week supervisor with an advanced wage,
will project a loss in revenue or establish a high amount of units to be manufactured to break even.
This amount of units would not be practical for an inexperienced staff or producing these products
manually, in addition not in a manufacturing setting. Recommendations would to base revenue income
on having an $11 $13 hour supervisor trained. This would produce revenues to have a break even
point at a smaller unit amount that is more feasible for a handmade product with an inexperienced
staff. (See Appendix Startup expense Breakeven Analysis)

Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda
In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme
throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot
from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of
power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of
the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base
for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators ,
comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as
a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community,
which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too
influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown
through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the
reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the
reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what
was Chile. An odor stayed in the cane fields:/ carrion, blood, and a nausea/ of harrowing petals./

Mary V Peter Case Summary
Question 1
Mary v Peter
Issue
Given that Mary was injured by Peters act, is he solely liable for the accident?
Law
* In this case, we have to look at the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW) to determine who was negligent
and in specific, we use s 5B(1), s 5B(2) and s 5R of the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW); s 5B(1) for
the reasonable foreseeability test, s 5B(2) for determining if the standard of reasonable care has been
breached and s 5R for contributory negligence. * Where both the parties seem to have been negligent,
it is important to determine who is more at fault and for this purpose we need to use the but for test as
in the case of Cork v Kirby Maclean [1952] 2 ALL ER 402. * The application of s 5R of the Civil ...

* We need to look at s 5R of Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW) which states that the plaintiff should take
reasonable care to avoid harm to themselves.
Application
The test of reasonable foreseeability can be seen from the case Ultramares Corp v Touche, Niven Co
174 NE 441 (1931), in which the defendants were negligent while auditing a company. The said
company then went on to borrow money on the basis that its accounts were correct. The lender upon
learning that the accounts were wrong filed a suit against the company and the auditor and the court
had to decide who was liable to the lender. The court decided that the defendant was not liable as any
person who read the report can then file a complaint against him leading to unlimited liability. Peter
should have foreseen that his negligent action would cause a traffic jam affecting the other road users.
Just as in this case, Peter is not responsible for Sam s loss as anyone stuck in the traffic jam and
affected by the traffic jam could then file suit against Peter and find him responsible to an unlimited
number of liabilities.
In the Perre v Apand (1999) 198 CLR 180 case, the defended sprayed harmful chemicals carelessly on
one farm and the crops on that and the adjacent farms were destroyed by this. Since, it was reasonably
foreseeable that careless spraying of chemicals would lead to such

There are many secrets and lies that Alaska holds from the Colonel and Miles. For example, there are
ones such as her mother s death and her involvement. When they played the game Best Day/Worst
Day, that was the night Alaska finally told her friends the truth of her mom s death, as she said lying
on the floor, holding her head and jerking. (119) The night before she left in her car Alaska was
severely angry about something that she would not tell to her friends. Then, there is the lie of the
involvement in Alaska s death that the Colonel and Miles tell to everyone. They do not tell that they
were with her the night of her death or that she was intoxicated when she left and drove her car.
Finally there is the lie of where they are going for the weekend they pull off the big prank. They all lie
about where they are going for the weekend so they can all stay in a barn and plan their prank. There

He took odd jobs growing up and later in life went into politics. His life was looking up he had made a name for himself and decided to run for Governor. He won and was then given a chance to decide who would fill the new president s seat in the senate. Instead of picking a member of his party, or picking the most qualified candidate he decided to accept a bribe, almost like a payment, for the seat. Now one might recognize this story. It s the story of Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois Governor who was impeached from office under an unanimous vote, and imprisoned for 14 years on many charges including corruption. There are a few things that make news headlines what the Kardashians are doing, Donald Trump s new racist claim, and Political Scandals. Corruption is spreading so fast. Historical Events In Beowulf events in the poem take place in the late 5th century, A.D., after the Anglo Saxons had started their journey to England, and before the beginning of the 7th century, a time when the Anglo Saxon people were either newly arrived or still in close contact with their Germanic kinsmen in Northern Germany. The poem may have been brought to England by people of Geatish origins.[8] It has been suggested that Beowulf was first composed in the 7th century at Rendlesham in East Anglia, as the Sutton Hoo ship burial also shows close connections with Scandinavia, and also that the East Anglian royal dynasty, the Wuffings, may have been descendants of Geatish Wulfings.[9][10] Others have associated this poem with the court of King Alfred, or with the court of King Cnut.[11][pages needed] Ohthere s mound ... The dating of the events in the poem has been confirmed by archaeological excavations of the barrows indicated by Snorri Sturluson and by Swedish tradition as the graves of Ohthere (dated to c. 530) and his son Eadgils (dated to c. 575) in ... Happiness In Albert Camus The Myth Of Sisyphus Albert Camus understanding of happiness is explained through his perspective of The Myth of Sisyphus.Towards the end of the story, Sisyphus punishment for forsaking the orders of Pluto was to push a large rock up a mountain for all eternity. The Greeks believed this to be the cruelest punishment a mortal could be given. The idea of a meaningless task being done over and over again is what some might call absurd. One might think that happiness is not possible in such circumstances. A moment of gratification cannot be seen as something desirable if the same task is to be repeated. However, Camus believes otherwise. the purpose is achieved... and Sisyphus watches the stone rush down in a few moments toward lower world whence he will have to push it up again toward the summit. He goes back down to the plain. (4) The significance of Sisyphus going down the mountain to repeat his task is explained by Camus. The Personal Rule came about when King Charles I dissolved parliament in 1629. It was symbolic of a time when the King felt that any joint governing of the country was impossible. Right from the start of Charles reign, relations had been poor with Parliament. But the time leading up to the start of the Personal Rule, or the Eleven Year Tyranny as it is sometimes referred, marked a low point. So for what reasons did Charles embark on the Personal Rule, and whose fault was it? These issues will be discussed in the following paragraphs. The broad overall reason for the collapse of relations between Parliament and the King is the conflict ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An obvious reason why Parliament could not work with the King was Charles deep emotional problems. Although this is not the most important reason, it is nevertheless an important one that cannot be overlooked. Charles was a deeply insecure man. His insecurity had roots in his childhood, where he was seen as the runt of the litter, and very much outshone by his older brother Henry. Perhaps his hard line approach of being unwilling to compromise or negotiate was because he lacked the emotional intelligence and confidence to reason with people effectively. In reality, this was probably a culmination of his strong belief in the Divine Right of Kings and his lack of confidence. In his history of the period, the Earl of Clarendon cited a major reason for Charles personality problems at not trusting himself enough . The King s speeches to Parliament lacked conviction, largely due to a constant stutter that he had possessed since birth. At a time when mastery of oral communication was seen as a sign of prestige, this speech impediment affected him in many ways, and would have contributed to his lack of confidence. He was also of slight appearance, only five foot four, and therefore lacked the assertiveness to ensure he was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Western people and Middle Eastern people do not share the same opinion about its use, while the occidental region considers it as a simple cloth, sometimes it is even considered as humiliating, the Middle Eastern region gives an important value to it due to its religious and historical significance. Concerning the social context, honor and respect are two significant values that the hijab represents. By wearing the hijab, a woman is less likely to be attractive to men and being approached by them, she creates a barrier that implements respect between her and another person, by consequent, she preserves her sexual chastity and keeps the family s honor intact. This is an important detail in the Middle East culture; honor is more a group matter than an individual matter, and in this case, honor s family is related to women s sexual abstinence before marriage; in case the honor is lost, it can t be regained. I could describe every subtle simile she imposes and preach of her incredible use of personification, but I think the most important piece of the essay would, then, be neglected. In Goodbye to All That, Didion compares her experiences in New York to the occurrences at a fair. This metaphor is discussed in a very roundabout way. Ultimately, though, Didion (like anybody) grew tired and dissatisfied with the fair (in her case NYC). Fairs lure people in through the gates with bright lights, loud buzzers, and exhilarating games. These same tactics help to attract tourists to New York City. Like a kid at a fair, Didion becomes enticed by such distractions and cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bad games (Intentional fragment). This view and interest of the city, this time at the fair, ends. The ending is not a definite point in time, but instead a gradual distaste for the details. Like the same child at the same fair, at the same time, every year, Didion outgrows the city and is no longer intrigued. She states, I stopped believing in new faces (p.687) and realizes, It is distinctively possible to stay too long at the Fair (p.687). She cannot stand the identical conversations at Grand Central, the stuck up women on Madison Ave., Times Square, or the New York Public Library. Eventually, Didion avoids these places. Like a boy who has outgrown the annual fair, she promises to return after a six month leave of absence. Three years after Didion made that promise, she finds herself returning to the fair. Back in New York, she realizes her acquaintances are no more and her friends had moved. She states, We stayed for ten days, and then we took the afternoon flight back to Los Angeles (p.688). Traditionally, crucifixion was a favored Roman torture and execution method from the time of Alexander the Great to Constantine. After extensive flogging, the convicted person would be forced to carry his own cross crossbar. The patibulum (crossbar), weighing around one hundred pounds, was tied to the convict s outstretched arms as he made his way to his own execution. This would obviously be an excruciatingly painful task. This is most certainly the image the disciples thought of when Jesus was speaking to them. In other words, characters that portray a wide variety of traits, in many cases opposite traits, appeal to the American audience by embodying a portion of each viewer in the character. • 20. Choosing An Online Survey And Collect Responses Instead of interviewing four people, I decided to make an online survey and collect responses because I was at home for Thanksgiving. As a result I got more responses, and I think people were more honest as well. I also allowed for the respondents to choose whether they have majority or minority status. I had nine responses, three identifying as minority status, five as majority status, and one student who was not sure, since he/she/they fell into multiple target groups but reported that she didn t experience any discrimination. There were some interesting discrepancies, since one female student reported that she was a minority, and another reportedly felt she was in the majority. At RIT, the distribution of gender differs by program, so this could be a reason why this discrepancy exists. None of the students who identified themselves as having majority status reported experiencing any discrimination themselves, and neither did the one female student who identified as a minority but fell into no other target groups. One respondent, a self identified conservative, Catholic white male chose to identify as a minority group. I thought this made sense since college campuses tend to be liberal, so conservatives are sometimes considered to be minorities. I thought about adding a checkbox for ideological minorities to my target group list when I first made my survey, but I was concerned that anyone might have a reason to check that box, since everyone s ideologies vary to some ... • 21. The Art Scene Of Tucson, And All Over The World Creativity and art is becoming such a rising normality in our everyday culture. A new mural with a political statement is popping up every other week. A person visiting the local pizza joint downtown can look up on the wall and see a piece of art with a price tag next to it. A local artist painted it and where else to get public attention than Brooklyn Pizza, in the heart of buzzing downtown. The art scene is growing quickly, and thanks to the creative means, so is the opportunity for aspiring artists. Whether it be a political, personal, local, environmental, or just showing U of A pride, local murals and art are popping up and displaying the creativity of fellow Tucsonans. Art in Tucson, and all over the world, sets a name for the city, brings the people together and defines a culture. There s such a hub of cultural exchange here, with Native Americans, Mexican Americans. There really is a lot going on in the arts (Busler). Local and community art galleries have been around, and are on the rise; Murals, too, are creating business interest, and create an outlet for creativity. Art shows and auctions get more artists out into the world, as well as their inspirational pieces. This art scene is only going to grow, and opportunity along with it. For instance, there are many young people today who are being influenced in the wrong way, such as smoking, selling drugs, and sex, that is leading them down the wrong path for their future. Although each story is different, they all have similar meaning and each one demonstrates how universal the Cinderella story is, as well as how unique each version is to the particular culture out which it grew (Tam and Cam, 2012 Pg 194). Little girls all over the world are told some type of Cinderella story and they grow up dreaming that one day they ll be a princess just like the characters in the stories. They will find their prince charming to sweep them off their feet. However, these manipulative stories tend to teach girls that they do not need to be dependent on a man to take care ... The problem with this idea is that there is no such thing as a fairy god mother in real life. There should not be a single woman out there who waits on someone else to make their future better Fairy tales are more fables that transform lives with supernatural events. Modern versions of Cinderella grant her wishes without requiring her to take all active role in determining her future (Coady, 2009 Pg 4). Every girl should be taking steps today to become a better person and improve her live for tomorrow. Over generations, fairy tales and folk stories have given the wrong impression to their audiences and since they are classics these stories are continuously passed down. Every young girl can remember a times in their life when Cinderella was, indeed, the women they wanted to become. The fancy dresses, marvelous lifestyle, and a Prince Charming to keep them safe. Each country or culture may change a few minor details within the fairy tale, but the men always manage to save the women and become the hero. • 24. Social And Cultural Geography Research Choose two journal articles* and consider what these articles tell us about: a) the socially constructed, spatially contingent and performative aspects of social identities and b) the practice of doing social and cultural geography research. Social and cultural geography is an area of study that has become increasingly popular within Geography. With the expansion of multi cultural societies and the increased diversification of cultures in addition to cultural practice, globally research into social and cultural geographies has boomed. These two diverse fields have risen in popularity among geographers and academics; meaning there is a significant amount of research and academic papers on this broad area of study. The fact is since the evolution of post structuralist ideas in the mid 20th century, in addition to postcolonial, and feminist study around the 1990s. A shift from an emphasis on identity to difference in geographical literature has become apparent. Geographers have since engaged more frequently with gender, sexuality, race , and class differences, by investigating how they are constituted in relation to peoples and places. This has brought about vast levels of research casing all social identities. However for the purpose of this essay, I will be focusing on the social identities of Gender and Race as both social and cultural attitudes in these areas have transformed immensely in the last century. In both wars, the foreign powers triumphed over China, causing havoc, causing the fall of the Qing dynasty. Prior to the Opium Wars, China was full of rich culture, remarkable goods, and useful inventions. They had invented gunpowder, kites, and porcelain, all of which were in demand. The amount of addicts skyrocketed to 12 million at one point, which soon led to a ban on the drug by Lin Zexu, commissioner of China. Zexu arrested dealers, seized crates of the drug, and then dumped 2.6 million pounds of it into the ocean. This was another cause for the opium war, as his actions angered British traders who were not able to get compensation from the British government. Parking Problems At The New Residence Halls Parking on campus is a recurring problem throughout the years, but the most recent of these problems has evolved into a catastrophe for and not so much for others. As the fall term came into place, more and more parking was taken away for the new residence halls. Students regularly admit to hoping other students would hurry and drop some of their classes, or that the students will go ahead and stop coming to lectures so there is more parking available and less of a burden. However, the burden of circling parking lots and the never ending loop of frustrating continues on for the fall term and more is to come with the lack of parking the campus wishes to offer. The OU Daily has released statements in articles concerning the matter. The new residence halls will also provide a parking garage or parking lot in which has a capacity of 1200 1300 parking spots. This is a nice edition for the lack of parking, but the new residence hall took the place of an old parking lot which held the capacity of 500 600 parking spots. Yes, the parking is nearly doubled, but what good will that doubled number do in comparison to the number of students (approximately twenty two times the quantity of parking spaces provided in said lot). She saw the fall of the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach, she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. • 31. Hyperkalemia is an Imbaland of Serum Potassium Hyperkalemia is a common electrolyte imbalance characterized by elevated serum potassium. Hyperkalemia is defined as serum potassium concentrations greater than 5.5 mmol/L (normal range is 3.5 to 5.0 mmol/L). In the body, ninety eight percent of potassium is intracellular, and the 2 % left is extracellular which is needed for nerve conduction and muscle contraction. For this reason, extracellular potassium concentration is tightly regulated through renal potassium excretion. Up to 90% of dietary intake of potassium is excreted by the kidney. As kidney function declines, the kidney compensates and aldosterone levels increase in order to boost potassium excretion. However, compensatory mechanisms may become overwhelmed, and result in hyperkalemia (Raymond Wazny, 2010). Potassium plays an important role in nerve and muscle function. As a result of this role, abnormalities in serum potassium may trigger membrane excitability and considerable nerve, muscle and cardiac dysfunction leading to ventricular arrhythmias and subsequently sudden cardiac death. It is estimated that between 1% and 10% of patients admitted to a hospital experience hyperkalemia, with a mortality rate of 1 per 1,000 (Raymond Wazny,2010). It effects practically all demographics, especially students, minorities, and low income workers. College towns are often face the toughest challenges, with many students experiencing an extremely high cost of living. Without a detailed housing plan drafted by community members there is no chance of improving the conditions of housing or their related expenditures. So, what should be done about housing in college towns? How can we hope to provide for a municipality s citizens while keeping costs down? Can neighboring institutions and cities assist or should they give communities the autonomy to improve themselves? The answers, I hope, will be found within the rest of this essay. The problems that arise from housing are numerous. Housing takes up more than half of all real property tax. Not only that, it s also the largest issue in a family s budget. The federal government spent $38 billion in preferential subsidies and $2 trillion on housing in total in the year 2006. Rigid zoning codes prohibit certain types of housing from being built. This prevents some citizens from being provided with homes that fit their budget and ads to the chronic problem of homelessness our communities face. • 45. Power Snack Economic Feasibility After reviewing the economic feasibility of in power snacks. When determining the project cost and the revenue projections, there are many aspects to consider. When elevating the startup cost without paying any type of the utilities or for rent. The start up cost will be closely around $5700. This will contain a small amount of reserves with equipment, material supplies beginning inventory, operating cost, business license, advertisement and miscellaneous expense. This is a small start up cost and seems to be very logically stable to start Empower Snacks program. Although, when projecting revenue logically, when manufacturing everything manually with an inexperienced staff, the period to manufacture these items for consumption will be instituted at a greater degree than common manufacturing periods. When examining the revenue projections, having a 12 hour week supervisor with an advanced wage, will project a loss in revenue or establish a high amount of units to be manufactured to break even. This amount of units would not be practical for an inexperienced staff or producing these products manually, in addition not in a manufacturing setting. Recommendations would to base revenue income on having an $11 $13 hour supervisor trained. This would produce revenues to have a break even point at a smaller unit amount that is more feasible for a handmade product with an inexperienced staff. • 46. Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators , comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community, which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what was Chile. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... * We need to look at s 5R of Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW) which states that the plaintiff should take reasonable care to avoid harm to themselves. Application The test of reasonable foreseeability can be seen from the case Ultramares Corp v Touche, Niven Co 174 NE 441 (1931), in which the defendants were negligent while auditing a company. The said company then went on to borrow money on the basis that its accounts were correct. The lender upon learning that the accounts were wrong filed a suit against the company and the auditor and the court had to decide who was liable to the lender. The court decided that the defendant was not liable as any person who read the report can then file a complaint against him leading to unlimited liability. Peter should have foreseen that his negligent action would cause a traffic jam affecting the other road users. Just as in this case, Peter is not responsible for Sam s loss as anyone stuck in the traffic jam and affected by the traffic jam could then file suit against Peter and find him responsible to an unlimited number of liabilities. In the Perre v Apand (1999) 198 CLR 180 case, the defended sprayed harmful chemicals carelessly on one farm and the crops on that and the adjacent farms were destroyed by this.
