Sex Offenders Deregistered
A considerable question could be whether an offender can be deregistered. Without a doubt, there are a
few sex offenders who have been convicted of this crime who do not pose any threat to the
community. These people suffer from consequences such as being unable to have employment, return
to school, or even social interactions. In cases like these, they often look for an alternative option. For
many years, deregistration was not probable for anyone until now. Looking into the research of
deregistration, an attorney from Austin, Texas by the name of Scott Smith, has provided certain step
for an eligibility of deregistration. The first step is to determine the eligibility of the offender. To be
eligible, they must not have more than one violation

A Brief Note On The And Foreign Involvement
ISIS and Foreign Involvement In Syria civil war has been raging since March 2011. The conflict an
attempt to overthrow the second Assad regime, led by Bashar al Assad, and multiple rebel groups,
including the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the Islamic Front, the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria(ISIS),
and Jabhat al Nusra (the Syrian branch of al Qaeda). Like his father, who held power before him,
Bashar al Assad has been a corrupt tyrant who rigged elections and eliminated personal freedoms. Two
important contributors to the development of civil war in Syria were the drought that began in 2006
and the Arab Spring. The drought left many civilians in poverty, in need of support from the
government, which was never provided. This caused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ISIS then extended their efforts into Syria, opposing Assad and his Alawite/Shiite government.
Making the Syrian situation even more complicated, Kurds from Eastern Syria seek to establish their
own independent Kurdish state. The Syrian National Coalition was formed in 2012 as a government
that could replace the Assad government, but the Assad regime refuses to relinquish power.
The Netherlands Stance on the Syrian Civil War: In his address to the UN general Assembly on
September 27, 2013, the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed The Netherlands priorities of
keeping order in the world:
The Netherlands advocates a coherent agenda to strengthen the international legal order. A peaceful
world demands a sustainable legal order and a powerful agenda for development. It demands a
strategy for disarmament and a focus on human rights . These are the principles of the Netherlands
foreign policy. So, focus on human rights, maintaining legal order, and promoting economic
development are the principles that guide the Netherlands s stance on the Syrian Civil war and how
the UNSC should be involved in it. While the Netherlands is in agreement with the US, the United
Kingdom and France in opposing the Assad regime, support sanctions against it and also oppose ISIS,
they have not been active supporters of any of the rebel groups. The Netherlands has stated

Monty Python And The Holy Grail 1975 Directed By Terry...
The infamous British film known as Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975 directed by Terry Gilliam
and Terry Jones, was considered a cult classic among the comedy genre. But what made it so
significant among other films during that era, and why is does it still stand the test of time? Classical
films were originally considered more than just another form of entertainment. This form of media
allowed artist to visually express their personal views through the big screen. Some film makers tend
to lean more on either the avant garde or political side of cinema to tell their story. Being able to
utilize film techniques in the most sophisticated ways to tell a narrative is a challenge, but aesthetics
are cognitively powerful within this art form. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a reaction to the concept of modernism; a style or movement in the arts that aims to depart
significantly from classical and traditional forms in the early 20th century. Postmodern lacks a precise
definition, but share many aspects of modernism. They are fueled by post industrialization, and driven
by late capitalism. However, there are a few distinctions that make it quite deliberate from its
predecessor. According to Fredric Jameson s theory, the experience of an art is mediated by
technology and/or capitalism so we no longer experience things as natural (Jameson 64). In other
words there are effects that create this erosion of high culture and low culture. In addition of devaluing
historical contexts, while lacking an ideology because the focus on a surface image of the art.
Furthermore, it refocuses on the individual rather than the singular subject. The basic concept of
postmodernism is the refusal to think historically, and disdain for the thought of underlying reality as
actuality. Overall postmodernism is broad, but very retrospective in terms of content, form and style
within cinema. It is all about recycling materials in order to reproduce for the interest of the individual
being rather than a singularity subject. On the other hand, Monty Python and the Holy Grail style and
form are what separate itself from the masses of classical cinema, whether artistic or mainstream. The

Military Strength at our Borders
As todays military currently winds down from actions in Iraq, Afghanistan and other lands where the
current war on terror is being fought they face a downsizing that will return thousands home looking
for new employment options. Every one of these individuals whether enlisted or part of the officer
ranks have sworn to protect the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and

One of the primary benefits of this program would be the information and resource sharing. Today s
military forces currently hold a level of operational experience not seen in decades. For over ten years
our forces have been increasing their effectiveness in a multitude of security and reconstruction
efforts. As the level of violence along the border increases the US Customs and Border Agents are face
with a new kind of enemy tactics that can be perceived as middle ground between current border
operations in Afghanistan and the historical security issues along the border. A melding of the military
tactics used to train Afghani security force on the protection of their own border, historical US
Customs and Border tactics and techniques along with effective rules of engagement can reduce
violence and illegal cross border flows. An initial cross training between military tactics subject matter
experts, military mission planning subject matter experts and operational Customs and Border Patrol
agents can be much more efficient and effective than training a group of new agents. The ground
tactics force is not the only aspect of this effort; their primary mission should be the security of the
engineering and construction force and surveillance of the borders such similar to the efforts of
Operation Jump Start (Greenhill. 2006 / pg25). The overall major focus of this

Iceman Murder Mystery Essay
The documentary Iceman Murder Mystery was about a stone age mummified human found in 1991 by
hikers in the Italian Alps. Otzi the stone age human is about 5,300 years old and is the oldest human
found still intact. The documentary is mostly surrounded by scientists finding out what kind of life this
human had, how he died, and what his DNA looked like. Scientists only had 9 hours to go into the
mummified remains and extract DNA, try to look at the murder weapon lodged in the iceman s
shoulder, and look into his stomach without destroying the remains (Iceman Murder Mystery). They
also looked at the items found on the iceman to see if that had any answers into the iceman s life. They
found a shoe on him, a copper axe, a knife, and arrows that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They found ibex and einkorn in his stomach which reveals that Otzi died during the beginning of
agriculture. Scientist believe the Iceman was at the start of agriculture because einkorn was one of the
first grains to be domesticated and farmed. His diet also had a lot of meat which also indicated he
lived during the beginning of agriculture because he ate grains but the majority of his diet was still
meat based. Otzi had a copper axe, bow and arrows, and soft hands indicating he was not a farmer but
a hunter or shepardson with access to grains. This leads scientists to believe that Otzi was part of a
small settlement that used agriculture but still had hunters to provide the majority of the food and Otzi
was most likely part of the hunting group (Iceman Murder Mystery). Scientists were able to use the
items found near the body and in the stomach to learn about his foodways because when he was
murdered it was less than an hour since he had eaten therefore the food did not have the chance to
digest past the stomach. Also, Otzi was only found with weapons for tools suggesting he was a

Writers on observation discuss about observers having insider and outsider perspectives (Riche
Tanner, 1998; Pellegrini, 1996:16), Pellegrini (1996) believe that observers should have outsider
perspective, and they should divorce themselves entirely from interaction. In addition to this Wilson
(1992:38) added that observers need to be appropriately responsive and yet remained detached, to
avoid being drawn in and offering advice or doing anything with, or to, the subject. There are also
issues around being obtrusive this could have an effect on the participants especially when we want to
observe them in their natural setting (Pellegrini, 1996:49). Riche and Tanner (1998; Briggs, 1995)
support this but they acknowledge that observers can find it impossible to remain an outsider, and that
the observer will become part of the process, though that nature and degree may vary. When looking
back on my experience I had every intention to take on an outsider perspective however, during my
observation I found it harder and harder and on my last observation I was interacting with the whole
family. I think that interacting with the family (especially Paige) helped my observation (Appendix 2

For about twenty eight years now the Asian elephant has been struggling for existence. They have
been classified as endangered species by The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Twenty eight years is quite a large amount of time for an animal to be classified as endangered so The
Zoological Society of London decided to look into this issue. Asian elephants have been transferred to
captivity for quite some time in the North American region. The Elephas maximus have been captured
from these countries in southern Asia and brought over to North America and have experienced many
complications that can hinder the genetic diversity of the evolution of the species. Captive populations
of the Elephas maximus species may be essential for genetic preservation and aid in decreasing the
deterioration of the authentic population (Brenneman et al. 2011).
Unfortunately, keeping these elephants captive has caused issues. The females are at least 35 years of
age which isn t very essential for reproduction so as a result the mortality rate amongst the calves and

Ambiguous Concepts Of Insolvency Between Temporary Lack Of...
1. Ambiguous concepts of insolvency between temporary lack of liquidity
S588G impose a duty on directors stop a company trading while it is insolvent or would become
insolvent. The provision requires directors take any reasonable steps to prevent incurring debts and
maintain the maximum abilities to pay the present creditors or protect future creditors. The ultimately
objective is to protect the creditors. According to S588G, as long as the directors suspect that the
company is insolvent or would become insolvent and fail to prevent a company from insolvent
trading, he or she would potentially personal liable for all the debts incurred since insolvency.
Under S95A, A company is insolvent if it is unable to pay all its debts when they become due for
payment (Hanrahan, 2015). It is difficult for directors to figure out whether the company is temporary
lack of liquidity or insolvent. Furthermore, the uncertain local and global economic conditions would
make them feel hesitant about whether the decision they make will save the company not. This
provision put significantly personal liabilities on directors shoulder. Directors special without
company share directors would rather to simply give up saving the company by winding up or
appointing an administrator than put their personal wealth on risk even though there is a chance to
rescue it.
One of the objective of appointing an voluntary administration is to put a company into a temporary

Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more than 11
million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on Bligh Reef in
Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to a fatigued crew, a
lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an inadequate ship design.
The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill prevention and response
improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound. On 22 March 1989, the Exxon
Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska
Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers drove into town the following morning with
William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading the ship through the Valdez Narrows. According to
the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB 1989,29), Hazelwood in addition to finishing ship
business and running errands had a few alcoholic drinks that afternoon at a local bar and at least one
more drink as the group waited for dinner. At 2024 on 23 March, the officers returned to the ship at
2024 and found out that the ship was ready to depart at 2100. The ship was originally scheduled to
depart at 2200. Before the officers returned, Third Mate Gregory Cousins had performed pre departure
equipment tests and found that the tests were successful. The ship set sail and was clear of the dock

Are you worried about a small flap of skin which has been growing on your neck or armpit? These
extensions of flesh are called skin tags. Many people are there who are not quite aware of the term
skin tags , however, this is a common phenomenon. Flaps of tissues which protrudes from the surface
of the skin are called skin tags and are usually present around the eyelids, armpits or neck. These skin
tags which hang off the skin have different sizes, with the help of a stalk they remains attached to the

The flow of blood into and out of the skin tag will be stopped by this procedure resulting it to
disappear in a few days. Since it is almost impossible for the person who suffers from anal skin tag to
get a proper view of this part of the skin, thus, a friend s help or a family member s help is necessary.
It is to be noted that despite of using all these methods for removing rectal tags, be it cosmetic
procedure or home remedies, it is very important to maintain proper hygiene without which these skin
anal tags might get infected.
Are anal tags the cause of any health complications?
No, as already mentioned above anal tags are harmless, but if they get ruptured from anal intercourse
or by passing a hard stool, they can get infected which can further lead to lots of health complications.
Although they are not contagious but if they gets inflamed, or gets injured they can take serious
shapes.
Anal tags are not risky to health but causes problems in maintaining cleanliness. Skin tags by trapping
moistures causes irritation. You must visit a doctor for your anal tags in order to be ensured that they
are harmless and are not malignant. If your anal skin tags don t indicate any other medical condition,

The Divine Command Theory And The Euthyphro Dilemma
The conflict between the Divine Command Theory and the Euthyphro objection come with questions
about who sets the rules of morality, and how it can be assumed that these rules are justifiable. On one
hand, the Divine Command Theory defends the idea that an act is morally right because God
commands it and wrong because He commands against it. This sets God s will as the foundation of
ethics, making morally good actions those that comply with His commandments. This religion based
concept becomes problematic when it runs into the Euthyphro dilemma, founded from Plato s
Euthyphro dating back to 395 BC. The argument centralizes on why it is that God commands rightful
actions, bringing in the question of, Are moral acts commanded by God because they are morally
good, or does God command things to be right because He has good reasons for them? The Euthyphro
argument creates its foundation on the idea that either God has reasons for His commands, or that He
lacks reasons for them. This divides up the Divine Command Theory in two ways, either making the
theory wrong or portraying God as an imperfect being. If God does have reasons for His commands,
then these reasons are what would make the actions right or wrong. God s reasons would stand as the
basis of morality, instead of God s commandment itself. God having reasons would insinuate that
goodness existed before any direction from God because otherwise, there wouldn t be any
commandment. Morality would have to stand independent

Red Cabbage PH Indicator
Did you know that, instead having to buy expensive PH indicators, you can just use the juice from red
cabbages? In this experiment, I will see how red cabbage can go from side dish to science. My
hypothesis is that the color of red cabbage will change color based on a reaction with different
substances to indicate whether it is an acid or base. According to the page madsci.org, red cabbage
contains a pigment called anthocyanin. this pigment changes its structure and its reaction to light
depending on the acidity of its environment. For this experiment, I only needed a few typical

It is important that the liquid is allowed to cool to room temperature so that residual heat doesn t affect
the PH readings. Now I have a homemade PH Indicator!
Using an eyedropper, I added a few drops of the indicator into each of my substances and viewed the
color changes through the clear plastic cups. I used the chart below to determine each substances PH
level by matching its colour to the chart below. The lower the PH level the more acidic, so a violet red
color is highly acidic; whereas a yellow color is highly basic.
I tested a few of the most common substances used in daily life: milk, soda, lemon juice and bleach.
My results are the following: In my first test, I tried testing the PH level of milk. I first thought that
milk would be basic, but after dripping some of the cabbage mixture into it, I discovered that it was
light blue, which means that it was actually slightly acidic! After researching this, I found that this is
true because milk contains lactic acid, which is responsible for the sour flavor of sourdough breads.

The Olympic Games During The Cold War
The Olympic Games has been a lens through which to scrutinize the world s political, social, and
economic spectacles. It has seen tsarist autocracy, fascism, despotism, and the great associated
movements of the political solidity and contrariety of communism and capitalism. During the Cold
War, sport was a sphere in which the USSR and the West competed bitterly. Following World War II,
the Soviet Union utilized the Olympics to assure the world of its superiority and to prove communism
s stability as a political ideology. Purportedly amateur, sport meant a lot to Soviet authorities, as did
awards and gold medals. Athletes often spent most of their time training in world class facilities, even
though they were meant to be factory workers or army officers. From 1950 to 1980, the United States
exploited the Games as a platform to undertake a propaganda operation against communism, releasing
an abundance of material to promote American ideals. On February 22, 1980, in Lake Placid, New
York at the XII Winter Olympics, one unlikely hockey game served as a catalyst for newfound
patriotism in America and marked the commencement of a new era in Soviet and American Cold War
politics. The tensions between the United States and the U.S.S.R following the 1980 Winter Olympics
and the Miracle on Ice represent strong, unwavering surges of nationalism. By analyzing the story of
how 20 men and a determined head coach shocked the world through the words of those present and

Liberal Arts Yay Or Nay Essay
Liberal Arts: Yay or Nay? In recent discussions of liberal arts degrees, a controversial issue has been
whether they are worth getting rather than a vocational degree. On one hand, some argue that getting a
liberal arts degree is a waste of money and there are very limited jobs out there that a liberal arts
degree could be used for. On the other hand, however, others argue that in order to be a well rounded
person and to be more interesting, a student should work towards a liberal arts degree. According to
this view, even though there is not one specific job that the individual will be trained for while
obtaining a liberal arts education, he or she will be feeding their brain and giving himself or herself a
chance to develop better knowledge of subjects in social sciences, literature, and mathematics. In sum,
then, the issue is whether getting a liberal arts education is worth it or not. My own view is that I
believe being an intellectually developed person is extremely important; therefore, I agree that
pursuing a liberal arts education can be very valuable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

many different kinds of jobs. One of the misconceptions in Sanford J. Ungar s essay The New Liberal

explain that in a recent study more than three quarters of employers encourage college bound students
to get a liberal arts degree. So, that just proves that employers are seeking well rounded students that

Victorian Internet Chapter 1 Summary
The Victorian Internet tells of telegraph s development and creation. Also, it talks of its remarkable
impact, oddballs, and the visionaries together with the eccentrics who pioneered the telegram
development. According to the book, by the year 1865, the telegraph cables started to span into
different oceans to continents rapidly and played an essential role of revolutionizing on ways countries
dealt with each other (Standage 15). Due to the creation of telegram, the book provides that some
impacts were realized including the creation of businesses and more job opportunities. Additionally,
based on Chapter 1 reading, it sparked the development of criminal activities and also gave rise to
more business practices, promoted to development of new forms of crime (Standage 145). The

uniqueness that was associated with telegraph technology in transforming society, accelerating the
world together with annihilating distances. Standage portrays an inner description of coding books
that were used by brokers and traders, as well as the establishment of new and effective agencies. It is
from telegram development that individuals like the Romans decided to blossomed over cables and

The satirical movie But I m a Cheerleader was directed by Jamie Babbit and based on 1999 writings
of Brian Wayne Peterson. The movie covers exciting representations of queer characters and is
centered on conversion therapy which seems an outdated practice in modern films. Conversion
therapy is rehabilitation that converts an individual s homosexual desires to regain heterosexual
desires. Megan is the main character in the movie with many friends and a dreamy boyfriend who acts
like a typical preppy cheerleader. As per the movie, Megan hardly kisses her boyfriend, and her
parents thought of her to be a lesbian (Talburt 17 39). The parents later sent Megan to a youth camp
that goes by the name True Directions which was for an ex gay run by Mike and Mary Brown. In that
camp, Megan came across Cathy who was facing threats from her own father of being cut off
completely. She never took these threats lightly even though she refuses to contain her attraction to
sex. When Mary Brown the owner of the camp, tries to make Graham and Megan heterosexual they
end up being romantic and this makes Megan discover her earlier inhibited sexuality. Therefore, the
paper will argue on queer representation as evident in But I m a Cheerleader movie. The argument

Megan is suspected of being a lesbian, and family members have to administer conversion therapy as
an intervention to Megan s behavior. Though But I m a Cheerleader movie is satirical and full of
ridiculous stereotypes; situations in which Megan avoided kissing her boyfriend supported the claim
that she was a lesbian. However, Megan argued that she was a cheerleader and could not be a lesbian
(Talburt 17 39). She gave many reasons claiming she was not a lesbian but her parents denied and sent

Athletes And Drug Testing Essay
Quade What do you think about athletes and drug tests? Well I believe that every athlete should be
required to take a drug test, first off I m going to tell you what exactly is drug testing and what the
point of it is. Why people use them and some cons of them and the health risks drugs cause. Also what
happens if you get caught using drugs in sports Drug testing is the evaluation of a urine, blood, hair or
other type of bio. Drug testing is one action an employer can take to determine if employees or job
applicants are using drugs. It can identify evidence of recent use of alcohol, prescription drugs and

It s also commonly used to look strong and more muscular. Some cons of taking performance
enhancing drugs is first off it creates mood swings it also shrinks the testicles. If you get caught with
them you can t play sports. The health risks of taking those are Cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer,
HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and lung disease. All drugs also affect the mind.If you get caught with drugs you
can be suspended from your sports team, lose the chance to participate in extracurricular activities, be
fired from a job, or not be hired for a job. I m the NFL you could be suspended for a couple games or
a season if you get caught with them enough you could be kicked out of the NFL. Same is for the
MLB or the NBA. In high school you could be suspended a couple games or you could be put on
probation or put in drug counseling. You you get caught enough more than likely you will be sent off.
In the NFL some teams only test once and it s usually in the preseason. If a player passes his one test,
he won t be tested again until the next April August. Like this last NFL season Le Veon Bell was
suspended for four game but hen it got reduced down to three. So it s not such a big deal in the NFL

Social Pressures Reflected in Ginsberg s Howl Essay
Social Pressures Reflected in Ginsberg s Howl
Post World War II America produced a number of images that will be forever imprinted on the minds
of Americans. Such images as television shows like Leave It To Beaver and I Love Lucy, movies such
as An Affair To Remember, and Brigadoon, are watched frequently even in today s society. But in this
world of fairytale movies and the American Dream, what about those who didn t fit into the picture of
perfection and prosperity? These men became the basis of an underground network of dissident
writers, teachers, artists and filmmakers. Often a reaction against the strict standards of normalcy held
by the American public and the bureaucracy of the government, their work not only ... Show more

Such is the same in Howl.
Ginsberg does not spare the innocent reader. When one analyzes the social power of Ginsberg s
statements, one can come easily to the conclusion that society was not exactly welcoming to Ginsberg,
and he reacted to that through his writing, especially in Howl.
The second portion of Howl is commonly considered by critics to be the most complicated for the
average mind to comprehend. In this section, nearly every thing is described as a Moloch. Moloch, in
mythology was a God to whom children were sacrificed. Now, the term is commonly used to describe
anything responsible for destroying innocence. In Part II, Ginsberg describes nearly everything about
American culture to be a Moloch. Even society s viewpoints are Molochs. In a way, Ginsberg is
calling America itself a Moloch, and then continuing to describe parts of the whole.
Moloch whose mind is pure machinery! Moloch whose blood is running money! Moloch whose
fingers are ten armies! Moloch whose breast is a cannibal dynamo! Moloch whose ear is a smoking
tomb! (Ginsberg 21)
America is evil to Ginsberg because of the feelings of hatred and repulsion the society builds in him.
The third section of Howl is a striking contrast to the other two parts.

Nathan Bedford Forrest And Thomas Jackson Essay
Nathan Bedford Forrest and Thomas Jackson, both where extraordinary individuals living for the
cause which they saw fit.
General Nathan Bedford Forrest was a man born with determination and Grit. He started off with
nothing and lost his father when he was only 16 years old. He lived with his uncle for some time but
before long his uncle was killed in the streets over a dispute. Forrest then rode out in search of those
who killed his uncle, hunted them down and killed two of the murders. At the break out of the
American Civil War Forrest who sided with the confederacy, was quite a wealthy man owning his own
plantation with slaves. Forrest brought along 45 slaves. They fought just as any other soldier in the
Confederate army. This always interested me that General Forrest placed his men together both black
and white and they were all one body of men united, while the Union army had segregated units for
African Americans.
On the field of battle Forrest was a magnificent fighter, and a very Tactical Commander. He fought in
battles like Shiloh in Chickamauga. Here is the crazy part about General Nathan Bedford Forrest when
he served as a general in the Confederate Army.
He had 29 horses shot out from under him he killed Thirty union men with his own hands. If that is
not crazy enough at the end of the Battle of Shiloh his forced lead a cavalry charge into a main body
of Union troops. Slashing with his sabre, General Forrest was stuck by a Union bayonet it went into

The World s Greatest Quest
Cryogenic freeze Science may have just solved humanity s greatest quest. Immorality. From Ponce De
Leon s search for the fountain of youth in America to man s advancement in medicine and technology
to not only extend human life but also endeavor to ensure quality of life. There is hope for those that
seek the impossible and that is the science of Cryonics. Cryonics is a relatively new technology that
lets those who can afford have the chance to be frozen when they have reached the end of their lives
for the possibility of a longer life when technology advances. This paper will show the technology and
recorded effects of this science by what its purpose is and how scientists use it.
Cryonics is a type of science that allows you to deep freeze the bodies of people who have died of an
incurable disease, for future hope of a cure. Despite the term dead, the Alcor foundation says cryonics
is a belief that no one is really dead until the information content of the brain is lost, and that low
temperatures can prevent this loss. As of now there has been no information gathered to conclude that
the brain activity could be restored, but by preserving the patients in the freezing temperatures they
hope that future technology will be able to find a way. Some animals and other types of science have
made cryonics such a hopeful science. Nature gives scientists confirmation that freezing temperatures
can preserve entire organisms. Examine the life cycle of frogs they bury

Medieval Europe And The Middle Level Of Urbanization
Medieval Europe is often discussed as a whole, but despite its connection, it is far from homogenous.
Although each country had its individual differences, it is helpful to divide Medieval Europe into the
High and Low Countries. The Low Countries had a high degree of urbanization from the textile
industry. In addition to the high level of urbanization, the Low Country was remarkably literate. This
was especially notable because it also applied largely to women of higher and middle social strata.
Women also made up the majority of the population. Elementary schools were usually co educational,
and even when it was not, there was no indication that the instruction provided was any different. In
higher education however, a gender gap was prevalent. Some schools existed for girls, but the
instruction was not as good. However, the meer existence of those schools proves that there was a
demand for them. In the Medieval Low Countries, families belonged to what is usually called the
northern or northwestern European type. These families were headed by a nuclear couple who entered
marriage later in life. This usually occurred around twenty five years of age for both husband and
wife. Northern type families typically had few children (two or three). A significant portion of the
population never married at all. With the exception of the noble and rural elite, all social groups in the
Low Countries displayed these characteristics. This type of household conflicted with that of

Social Otherness In David Harsent s Duffel Bag
Composers of texts often use language devices to convey the ways in which social otherness impacts
upon one s perspective. The language devices employed by the composer show that social otherness is
capable of completely altering the viewpoint that one holds. It can change the way that people
perceive things entirely, therefore changing them as a person given that one s perceptive ability
defines their overall character. This use of language devices gestures towards the character
development made possible by the impacts of, and direct interaction with social otherness. David
Harsent s Duffel Bag a poem about a person living on the fringes of society and battling addiction and
exclusion, perfectly encapsulates the impacts of social otherness on one s perspective. ... Show more

Harsent s poem Moppet details the struggles of an unnamed, genderless person facing abuse, and how
that affects their sense of self and their quality of life in general. Similarly, composers also employ
language devices to expand on the impact one s perspective has on social otherness. This strengthens
one s ability to understand or empathise with the social otherness faced within the text. To exemplify
the impacts of one s perspective on social otherness, composers use language devices such as; slang,
metaphors and irony. In Edward Albee s The Zoo Story a play detailing the meeting of two drastically
different men, Peter, who is on the higher side of the social hierarchy and Jerry, who is on the lower
side, the effects of Jerry s perspective on his state of social otherness are greatly significant. In all of
these texts, the composers use language techniques to enhance the impacts of social otherness upon
one s perspective and the impacts of one s perspective on social

Blood Culture Contamination Rates in the Emergency Department:
Issues and Resolutions for Improvement Blood culture (BC) contamination is a common, yet
preventable problem for emergency departments (EDs) across the country (Self et al., 2014). Erlanger
Hospital s ED is no different and being the region s only Level 1 Trauma Center, it is called to an
excellent standard of practice. BC testing is a routinely applied intervention used to diagnose
infections in symptomatic patients who arrive at the ED (Denno Gannon, 2013). BCs are essential as
they help identify accurate pathogens and provide targeted antibiotic therapy (Denno Gannon, 2013).

She also responded that to be in compliance with Joint Commission guidelines Erlanger is required to
adhere to a strict standard of practice ensuring the safest and most competent care of patients. A
second question was asked: Have causative issues been identified for the increased rates of BC
contamination in the ED? She responded stating that BC contamination is an ongoing issue and while
many ideas have been presented, a single factor cannot be narrowed down specifically. A third
question was posed: What is involved in an official change process at Erlanger and is the staff allowed
to have input on change processes needed in the ED? Her response was that staff is encouraged input
and there is formal chain of command that they must go through. First, staff must present their issues
to their Charge Nurse who is then responsible to relay the information to the ED Manager or herself.
Issues warranting a need for change are then brought before an internal review committee. A fourth
question was presented: Does upper management support change processes backed by evidence based
practice (EBP)? She responded that all upper management are supportive of change processes when
backed with proper research and statistics which warrant a change in the department. Finally, a fifth
question was asked: What are the current protocols for BC collection

Global Access To Vaccination
Protecting the Herd: Global Access to Vaccinations Herd immunity or community immunity is a
societal idea to protect those who are vulnerable to diseases ( Herd Immunity ). When access to
vaccinations are limited, the herd is more at risk to infection diseases. Since vaccinations were first
used, in 1796, they have been a massive part of our history to prevent the spread of disease, been
limited to wealthy countries, and those who are against them. Even today, access to vaccinations are
very limited and continue to affect the population. Before Edward Jenner s smallpox vaccination, the
idea of inoculate had been a long standing idea ( Schlager ). In Eastern countries there was inoculation
against smallpox by taking matter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were approximately 90,000 anti vaccinators that were involved with this March. This was
largely a result following the Vaccination Act of 1853 and 1867 and the increase of causalities during
a time of mass vaccination ( Leicester and the ).
Between 1840 1898 there were a variety of acts put in place in Great Britain. One of the vaccination
acts that anti vaccinators felt imposed on their rights was the Vaccination Act of 1853: The
Vaccination Act of 1853 made vaccination compulsory for all infants in the first three months of life
and made defaulting parents liable to a fine or imprisonment ( Anti vaccinations ). Later, in 1867, the
Vaccination Act of 1867 extend the mandatory vaccination up to 14 years old. The politicians extend
the government power to impose on civil rights for public health.
At the end of the 19th century, anti vaccinators started to show up in the United States of America.
This was largely due to the smallpox outbreak. In 1902, Cambridge s board of health required that all
the citizens had to get the vaccination. After it was taken to the Supreme Court, they ruled in favor of
the states: State could enact compulsory laws to protect the public in the event of a communicable
disease ( History of Anti Vaccination ). This was the first Supreme Court case regarding public

Difference Between Knowing The Gospel And Being Consumed...
The title of chapter one is called A People Formed. The authors begin to talk about the difference
between knowing the gospel and being consumed by the gospel. They also describe the importance of
understanding the gospel and what the gospel means for the church. It is mentioned that Sin has
fractured the shalom of the universe. (9) God spoke and formed an entire nation , a community of
faith. The gospel creates a collective people. In chapter two, the authors talk about worship and what it
means to rejoice. They also describe our fleshly tendency to idolatry. They use the story of the
Samaritan woman at the well to depict this. The wrong wells never truly satisfy us, and our worship
suffers when we continue to go back to them. It is said that we would rather worship creation than the
Creator. The authors also talk about our tendency to try to cover up our sin. We are all to often running
from God and simultaneously running towards the things that make the situation worse. In our
ignorance we strip God of his authority and power. Chapter three describes community. We are a
family of believers that unite despite race, nationality, economics, and politics, because Christ unites
us. Out of this divinely constructed community flows God s plan for humans to be in relationship with
one another. The authors mention that a community is only as strong as what it is built upon. They say
that, unity in the gospel is much deeper than surface uniformity (45). In Chapter

Growing up, he was surrounded by tutors and prominent community figures. He lived a privileged

Examples Of Signal Detection Theory
S. S. Stevens, who was considered the World s first Professor of Psychophysics, proposed the Signal
Detection Theory. The basic premise of this theory states that perception is not a matter of sensitivity,
but considered in terms of the environment in which the event occurred. Two critical components of
the Signal Detection Theory includes signal, which is considered as the desired stimulus , and noise,
which is the undesired stimulus , or the events in the environment. Within a signal detection task, there
are in total four possibilities or outcomes. These outcomes depend on the presences of a stimulus as
well as a yes or no response. If the stimulus is present and the response is yes , then the task outcome
would be considered a hit. If the stimulus is absent and the response is yes , then the task outcome
would be considered a false alarm . If the stimulus is present and the response is no , then the task
outcome would be considered a miss . Lastly, if the stimulus is absent and the response is yes , then
the task outcome would be considered a correct rejection . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sensitivity involves the intensity of the stimulus and the ability of the observers. It is defined by a
sensitivity index, which is the function of the strength of the signal. Sensory criterion, on the other
hand, is defined as Decision Point or Response Bias tendency to respond in a particular manner. This
depends on the expectation of signal and the observer s motivation. These components are expressed
by Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curves, which d is a value defining the amount of
overlap between noise and stimulus. The larger the d value, the more likely one is going to detect the
stimulus

The Battle Of The Little Bighorn
Introduction The battle of the Little Bighorn, also known as Custer s Last Stand, took place in South
Central Montana, along the Little Bighorn River. The town of Hardin Montana is now located near
there, along with the Crow Indian Reservation. On June 25th and 26th, 1876, Lieutenant Colonel
George Custer would lead the 7th Regiment of the U.S. Cavalry against the warriors of the Lakota,
Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes. 210 men of the 7th Cavalry Regiment went to battle
those two days against an estimated warrior force of 1,500 1,800 Indian warriors.1 This battle remains
one of the most studied military actions in U.S. history.
The majority of the books and other publications on the Battle of the Little Bighorn focuses on Custer
s leadership during the battle. Some mention that reinforcements failed to come to his aid, and some
say that he rushed into battle without having the proper equipment, or any communications with the
other companies that were around. What we do know from eye witness accounts from survivors of the
battle both Indian Warriors and Solders, along with clues that were left behind, and by gathering that
information, we are able to come up with a historical account of the bloody battle that day. We will
never know exactly what happened or what Custer and his men went through, but what we do know
for sure is that Custer and the 209 men he commanded of the 7th Calvary died on the battlefield that
day.

The infamous British film known as Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975 directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones, was considered a cult classic among the comedy genre. But what made it so significant among other films during that era, and why is does it still stand the test of time? Classical films were originally considered more than just another form of entertainment. This form of media allowed artist to visually express their personal views through the big screen. Some film makers tend to lean more on either the avant garde or political side of cinema to tell their story. Postmodern lacks a precise definition, but share many aspects of modernism. They are fueled by post industrialization, and driven by late capitalism. However, there are a few distinctions that make it quite deliberate from its predecessor. According to Fredric Jameson s theory, the experience of an art is mediated by technology and/or capitalism so we no longer experience things as natural (Jameson 64). Writers on observation discuss about observers having insider and outsider perspectives (Riche Tanner, 1998; Pellegrini, 1996:16), Pellegrini (1996) believe that observers should have outsider perspective, and they should divorce themselves entirely from interaction. In addition to this Wilson (1992:38) added that observers need to be appropriately responsive and yet remained detached, to avoid being drawn in and offering advice or doing anything with, or to, the subject. There are also issues around being obtrusive this could have an effect on the participants especially when we want to observe them in their natural setting (Pellegrini, 1996:49). Riche and Tanner (1998; Briggs, 1995) support this but they acknowledge that observers can find it impossible to remain an outsider, and that the observer will become part of the process, though that nature and degree may vary. When looking back on my experience I had every intention to take on an outsider perspective however, during my observation I found it harder and harder and on my last observation I was interacting with the whole family. Ambiguous concepts of insolvency between temporary lack of liquidity S588G impose a duty on directors stop a company trading while it is insolvent or would become insolvent. The provision requires directors take any reasonable steps to prevent incurring debts and maintain the maximum abilities to pay the present creditors or protect future creditors. The ultimately objective is to protect the creditors. According to S588G, as long as the directors suspect that the company is insolvent or would become insolvent and fail to prevent a company from insolvent trading, he or she would potentially personal liable for all the debts incurred since insolvency. Under S95A, A company is insolvent if it is unable to pay all its debts when they become due for payment (Hanrahan, 2015). It is difficult for directors to figure out whether the company is temporary lack of liquidity or insolvent. Furthermore, the uncertain local and global economic conditions would make them feel hesitant about whether the decision they make will save the company not. This provision put significantly personal liabilities on directors shoulder. Directors special without company share directors would rather to simply give up saving the company by winding up or appointing an administrator than put their personal wealth on risk even though there is a chance to rescue it. Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more than 11 million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to a fatigued crew, a lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an inadequate ship design. The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill prevention and response improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound. On 22 March 1989, the Exxon Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers drove into town the following morning with William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading the ship through the Valdez Narrows. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB 1989,29), Hazelwood in addition to finishing ship business and running errands had a few alcoholic drinks that afternoon at a local bar and at least one more drink as the group waited for dinner. At 2024 on 23 March, the officers returned to the ship at 2024 and found out that the ship was ready to depart at 2100. The ship was originally scheduled to depart at 2200. • 17. The Divine Command Theory And The Euthyphro Dilemma The conflict between the Divine Command Theory and the Euthyphro objection come with questions about who sets the rules of morality, and how it can be assumed that these rules are justifiable. On one hand, the Divine Command Theory defends the idea that an act is morally right because God commands it and wrong because He commands against it. This sets God s will as the foundation of ethics, making morally good actions those that comply with His commandments. This religion based concept becomes problematic when it runs into the Euthyphro dilemma, founded from Plato s Euthyphro dating back to 395 BC. The argument centralizes on why it is that God commands rightful actions, bringing in the question of, Are moral acts commanded by God because they are morally good, or does God command things to be right because He has good reasons for them? The Euthyphro argument creates its foundation on the idea that either God has reasons for His commands, or that He lacks reasons for them. This divides up the Divine Command Theory in two ways, either making the theory wrong or portraying God as an imperfect being. If God does have reasons for His commands, then these reasons are what would make the actions right or wrong. God s reasons would stand as the basis of morality, instead of God s commandment itself. God having reasons would insinuate that goodness existed before any direction from God because otherwise, there wouldn t be any commandment. Morality would have to stand independent ... It has seen tsarist autocracy, fascism, despotism, and the great associated movements of the political solidity and contrariety of communism and capitalism. During the Cold War, sport was a sphere in which the USSR and the West competed bitterly. Following World War II, the Soviet Union utilized the Olympics to assure the world of its superiority and to prove communism s stability as a political ideology. Purportedly amateur, sport meant a lot to Soviet authorities, as did awards and gold medals. Athletes often spent most of their time training in world class facilities, even though they were meant to be factory workers or army officers. From 1950 to 1980, the United States exploited the Games as a platform to undertake a propaganda operation against communism, releasing an abundance of material to promote American ideals. On February 22, 1980, in Lake Placid, New York at the XII Winter Olympics, one unlikely hockey game served as a catalyst for newfound patriotism in America and marked the commencement of a new era in Soviet and American Cold War politics. The tensions between the United States and the U.S.S.R following the 1980 Winter Olympics and the Miracle on Ice represent strong, unwavering surges of nationalism. • 20. Liberal Arts Yay Or Nay Essay Liberal Arts: Yay or Nay? In recent discussions of liberal arts degrees, a controversial issue has been whether they are worth getting rather than a vocational degree. On one hand, some argue that getting a liberal arts degree is a waste of money and there are very limited jobs out there that a liberal arts degree could be used for. On the other hand, however, others argue that in order to be a well rounded person and to be more interesting, a student should work towards a liberal arts degree. According to this view, even though there is not one specific job that the individual will be trained for while obtaining a liberal arts education, he or she will be feeding their brain and giving himself or herself a chance to develop better knowledge of subjects in social sciences, literature, and mathematics. In sum, then, the issue is whether getting a liberal arts education is worth it or not. The movie covers exciting representations of queer characters and is centered on conversion therapy which seems an outdated practice in modern films. Conversion therapy is rehabilitation that converts an individual s homosexual desires to regain heterosexual desires. Megan is the main character in the movie with many friends and a dreamy boyfriend who acts like a typical preppy cheerleader. The parents later sent Megan to a youth camp that goes by the name True Directions which was for an ex gay run by Mike and Mary Brown. In that camp, Megan came across Cathy who was facing threats from her own father of being cut off completely. She never took these threats lightly even though she refuses to contain her attraction to sex. Although each country had its individual differences, it is helpful to divide Medieval Europe into the High and Low Countries. The Low Countries had a high degree of urbanization from the textile industry. In addition to the high level of urbanization, the Low Country was remarkably literate. This was especially notable because it also applied largely to women of higher and middle social strata. Women also made up the majority of the population. Elementary schools were usually co educational, and even when it was not, there was no indication that the instruction provided was any different. Two critical components of the Signal Detection Theory includes signal, which is considered as the desired stimulus , and noise, which is the undesired stimulus , or the events in the environment. Within a signal detection task, there are in total four possibilities or outcomes. These outcomes depend on the presences of a stimulus as well as a yes or no response.
