In the next few sections we will give an overview of:
The different actions that could have been taken to address Seagate s low stock price o Do nothing o
Unload VERITAS shares o Sell to other investors o Engage in a merger or buyout
Vertical integration and leveraged buyouts, since both are major concerns for Seagate and its future

What Is The Representation Of Crime In The Media
Within media and society there are seemingly different representations of race and crime. They are
different in how they are constructed for their perceived audience in the majority and the opinion that
is supposed to be evoked by the event. Within the public perception of crime in reality there is
abundant racism that has been socially constructed over many generations. Whereas media crime is
gentrified and critiqued in such a way as to support fears and intrigue into crime through violence
from what could rarely happen to the viewer. When both of these are combined the social construction
of race is reinforced. Through crime television shows the allure of feeling a crime through draws an
audience. The allure of crime for the general public is the deviant behavior itself. Crime brings about
multiple questions that crime dramas answer. Why would a person commit such a crime? Why was
that person a victim? What are the surrounding circumstances? These are questions arise for most
violent crimes in society, but in the news media not much is reported as the police must keep
investigations under wraps. Resulting in an area of intrigue between the action and the courtroom that
primarily focuses on the action itself and the extenuating circumstances of the action. This is where
television dramas fill the void by quenching the public s thirst for insight into the social taboo of
violent Mala Prohibita crimes. In order to do this though cable companies have to make the crime

Literature Review On Stainless Steel
Literature Review
1. Overview of stainless steel
1.1 Stainless steel
The definition of stainless steel is the composition of chromium (Cr) in low carbon steel alloy is at
least 10.5% and maximum30%. Stainless steel is more corrosion and rusting resistant than low carbon
steel. In steel, the iron surface is easily form a oxide film and tends to form more oxide. This cause the
oxide diffuse inside the alloy so rusting can occurs readily. However, stainless steel contains plenty of
chromium. The chromium can form a passivation (oxide film) and obstruct the diffusion of the oxygen
from surface to the internal structure. Also, the composition of Nickel (Ni) will corporate with
chromium and increase the ability of corrosion resistant of stainless steel. For the physical properties
of stainless steel, the strength of stainless steel is much higher than iron. The high strength of stainless
steel is due to the low carbon content. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In stainless steel production, the minimum amount of chromium should not be less than 10.5%. The
function of the chromium is the formation of protective passivation to prevent the corrosion and
oxidization from the environment. The oxide film formed from chromium can block the diffusion of
the oxygen. Also, the chromium provide the ferrite structure and increase the body centred cubic (bcc)
structure. Chromium usually works with nickel. The raising in nickel content, the requirement of
chromium must be increase at the same time to keep the balance of two phases. There is usually at
least 16% of chromium in austenitic stainless steel and at least 20% of nickel in duplex grade.
(b) Molybdenum
The role of molybdenum is supporting chromium and nickel to enhance the resistance of the local and
other corrosions as pitting and crevice corrosion. Molybdenum is a ferrite stabilizer. The performance
of mo can be three time when the chromium content is higher than 18%.

Cultural Prejudice In Canada
Prejudice comes in different shapes and sizes, so treatment of culture minorities differed with the
circumstances.
The culture, language, and opinions of the French population were widely disregarded by the English
speakers of Canada. This discrimination stemmed from the rivalry between the mother countries
France and England that transferred over to the colonies of Canada. Anything the one had, the other
wanted, so be it that the French and English s positions switched, the resulting discrimination would
be the same. However, be it with Britain in control, the English tried to use the influence of their
power to the best of their ability. The English felt the opposite forced their culture and language on to
them, so they thought it fair ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As soon as cheap labour was no longer needed for the construction of CPR and the last spike was
driven, the government set into plans of segregation and exclusion of Asians. This plan in fruit was the
Royal Commission. It set up the Chinese Head Tax that increased from 50$ in 1885 to 100$ in 1903
and limits on immigration by one Chinese per every 50 tonnes. Assimilation was difficult in isolation,
as the Chinese often were, as was changing minds about those being discriminated against. Simply
because of the idea of cultural and white superiority, the Chinese Canadians were subject to lives in
poverty that was designedly put into place by the Canadian government. Instead of assimilation, the
discrimination was more focused around exclusion and denial and was done through entirely

He Went On The Blue Highway Short Story
Boom! Bang! There has been another wreck on the interstate. The interstate is a dangerous place for
people to drive some people will be texting and not paying attention for other drivers. This is why you
need to drive on a calm highway with barely any cars on it; it is called a blue highway. In this short
story the author is telling about how the interstate is not fun for people to see anything interesting
because everything is on the exit ramps and that is a long way, away.
The author was saying, He went on highway 50 instead of getting on the interstate because he got tired
of looking at the flat, plain road; it took an hour longer but it felt like no time at all because around

Weed Non Interference
The results showed that the effects of weed non interference and plant density on fresh yield (fresh
weight) of plant in both cuttings were significant at 1% level (Tables 1 and 3). According to the table
7, it was observed that weed non interference (hand weeding) had significant impact on the fresh
weight of alfalfa. With increasing plant density, fresh yield level showed upward trend so that the
highest alfalfa fresh weight was observed in density of 80 plants per square meter (Table 9).
Combined analysis of weed non interference and plant density in both cuttings on fresh weight of
alfalfa (Table 5) showed that the cutting had significant effect on the level of 1%. In general,

In the first and second cuttings, the dry weight was affected by the weed non interference and plant
density (Tables 1 and 3). The weed non interference significantly increased dry weight of alfalfa and it
could have a direct impact on dry yield. In general, we saw an increase in dry weight of forage by
raising the density, but there was no significant difference between 40 and 60 stems per square meter
(Table 9) though the trend was on the rise. Elevated density per unit area was directly related to the
dry weight, and the highest dry weight yield was obtained at density of 80 stems per square meter;
hence, the appropriate planting density is very noteworthy. The researchers have considered repeatedly
the importance of determining the appropriate density of alfalfa planting and other crops (Raoofi and
Giti, 2015). The results of combined analysis showed that the fresh weight and dry weight were under
the influence of cutting, hand weeding and plant density (Table 5). In general, the space was provided
for the success of alfalfa forage crop through the weed control, by more favorable taking advantage of
resources and conditions and by overcome the

Emmett Barcalow Moral Egoism Analysis
Capitalism is more than an economic system it is, in many ways, a philosophical view of life, a belief
in how people should act and how the world should be. Capitalism even spills over into ethical
decisions, based on a theory called Moral Egoism. Emmett Barcalow introduces the concept of Moral
Egoism in chapter four of the third edition of his textbook, Moral Philosophy, on page 71. He
describes Moral Egoism as the belief that one should make moral decisions based on one s own self
interest. Moral Egoism allows for behavior as genuinely helpful and benign as eating well and staying
fit since you would do this to boost your personal health, which is in your self interest and as sinister
as lying, cheating, stealing, and even murdering since

The Use Of Media And Media During The French Revolution
Media and propaganda have helped establish free societies, overthrow governments, and incite wars
throughout history. Revolutionaries utilized each to inspire and unite the populace during the French
Revolution. Persuasive newspapers and pamphlets featured opinion pieces that convinced commoners
of the drastic economic, social, and political changes needed to improve their quality of life, role in
society and potential for social advancement. Revolutionaries used art in museums and mass
distributed prints as propaganda to rally the masses with nationalistic themes of heroism, martyrdom
and the power of the people. Music and festivals also contributed by infusing the masses with passion
to unite against the monarchy and fight for the revolution. The use of media and propaganda in the
French Revolution systematically distributed revolutionary ideas to the people and drastically altered
the course of the movement.
The French Revolution officially began in 1789, but the monarchy made a series of disastrous earlier
decisions which created the perfect conditions for the movement to thrive and engulf the country in
chaos. King Louis XVI dedicated funds to assist the American colonists in their fight for
independence against the British. While the French succeeded in their goal, the war left France with a
depleted treasury. Peasants became dissatisfied with the government after a series of droughts and
poor harvests. Tensions were further inflamed by the high taxes the monarchy

Banks are not the only financial intermediary from which corporations can obtain financing. What are
the other intermediaries? How much financing do they supply, relative to banks, in the United
Kingdom, Germany, and Japan? The other financial intermediaries include insurance companies,
mutual funds and pension funds. In Japan, banks provide more financing than other financial
intermediaries do. In the U.K., other financial intermediaries provide substantially more financing. In
the U.S., banks are less important sources of financing compared to financial intermediaries. While in
Europe, financing provided by banks and financing provided by other financial intermediaries are
approximately equal. 3. Why is transparency important in a market based financial system? Why is it
less important in a bank based system? Transparency is essential in a market based system, but is not
necessarily a requirement for a bank based system. In a bank based system, banks have long standing
working relationships with the companies seeking financing, and banks have on going access to
information about the firm. In a market based system, creditors and equity holders require that
financial information about companies seeking financing be available, sufficiently detailed and
accurate if they are to participate in the market. This information, including audited financial
statements, allows participants in the market to make

Central Themes in The Graduate Essay example
Central Themes in The Graduate The themes of loneliness, isolation and entrapment are central to the
narrative of the 1967 film The Graduate. Throughout the film, many devices are used in order to
communicate this to the audience. This list of devices includes the use of water and glass for example,
which is seen in many scenes and emphasizes the isolation and entrapment of the not particularly
remarkable but worthy kid who drowns amongst many objects and things throughout this film. The
first scene we are going to look at is the party at the beginning of the film; I find this a perfect
example to look at Ben s reactions and his need or desire to be alone all the time, he doesn t like to be

There s a certain stage fear , his parents want him to perform the perfect kid stand up act but he
reflects the irony of the whole situation. When he tries to go up the stairs once again (he tries a few
times to get away from such a crowded place) we see a woman s hand just grab his shoulder, almost
imperatively just catching him saying where are you going? . All the time he is grabbed by someone or
speaks to someone there they all treat him as if he was a child, (caressing him, the way they talk to
him) when in fact he is in his twenties. When he finally gets away from all the people, he goes up to
his room and as soon as he shuts the door immediately all the party noise completely disappears. As
Ben shuts the door and leans against it with his back, we can observe his body language as saying that
he s relieved, almost saying I finally got away from all those people!!! . He then walks towards the
window and looks out of it, we see three people walking by the pool area, talking and drinking, but
more importantly we should take note of what the actual shot is showing us: glass (the windows are
shut) and water (the pool). This combination is repeatedly used

Rhetorical Analysis Of JFK Inaugural Speech
We need to solve the problems the world has peacefully. That s what president Kennedy said in his
inaugural address, he claims that everyone needs to come together and solve world issues together
peacefully. In his speech, Kennedy says uses rhetoric to make his speech seem more powerful. In his
speech president Kennedy claims that everyone needs to come together and solve the world problems
peacefully, he uses emotional appeal, strong word choice, and ethical appeal to support his claim. To
begin with, JFK effectively uses emotional appeal to support his claim that everybody needs to
together and solve problems peacefully. To start, Kennedy says, we dare not forget today that we are
the heirs of that first revolution. (page 6) This is effective because JFK is saying that we were the first
ones to establish freedom from england. This is emotional because without us most countries wouldn t
have been determined enough to obtain freedom it supports the claim we remain friendly with
england. Secondly, JFK states to our sister republics south of the border we offer a special pledge: TO
convert our good words, into good deeds. (page 7 8) JFK wants to help the countries to the south of
the US. JFK s statement is effective because if we help them in the long run they will help us. It
supports the claim because he wants to be peaceful with the southern countries. Lastly JFK says, And

Persuasive Essay On Obesity
As years go by American weight struggle has been getting worse. People with diabetes today has more
than double since 1994. While there are ways to help bring down obesity, most companies have not
taken action. There are many factors to why obesity has only been increasing all these years. First off,
in Radley Balko essay, What You Eat Is Your Business he thinks people need to start being responsible
for their actions, because maybe it will help people from being so obese. Health Insurances should
reward people for having a health style. Radley Balko talks about that if someone is paying for his
health medicines, what is stopping him from not having something unhealthy (467). Nutritional testing
is being conducted on restaurants by Congress (Balko 467). In addition, in David Zinczenko essay
Don t Blame the Eater he indicates unhealthy food places make it easy for kids to get to and are not
warning kids about the food they eat. Kids often go for cheaper meals, which usually means going to
some fast food place. David Zinczenko said that if you want something healthy, you may have to
make a little farther drive for that (463). From 1994 to today childhood cases of Type 2 diabetes went
up about 25 percent (Zinczenko 463). When eating at a fast food restaurant people cannot see how
much calories they are consuming from their meals. Eating two meals a day from fast food places is
not a good idea, because you will consume way more than you should be for calories. If you are trying
to watch out for how much calories you have at a fast food place then you should make sure you are
considering everything you order. Some places may tell you how many calories is in their burgers or
nuggets, but that does not include any sauces you may want (Zinczenko 463 464). At this rate, more
people will just become obese and/or have diabetes. Last of all, in Marion Nestle essay, The
Supermarket: Prime Real Estate she states that supermarkets manipulate you on buying extra things
you do not need. During her research, she realized there were a lot of different studies for designing
the layout of the stores (Nestle 499 500). For instance; Stores do not use a lot of islands, they put

Schools Need To Be Responsible For The Protection Of...
Schools need to be responsible for the protection of kids while in school. In the court case, Morrow
versus Balaski (Daniell 133)the US court of appeals for the third circuit explained that school children
are never in full custody of the school because they remain primarily dependent on their parents... but
others argue that the relationship between schools and children is special (since children are required
to attend school) (Daniell 134). Although courts have not extended the special relationship exception
to the no Duty rule in school settings there is the second exception of that would impose a duty and on
school districts to protect students from violence. (Daniell 134). School districts should be required to
protect students from Intruders. They should also be better equipped to help students in a trauma
scenario. Teachers should be required to be educated on how to help students in an emergency. Not
every kid has a safe environment at home, if they can t be safe at school either, then where can they?
Teachers need to be trained how to handle various types of emergencies such as health and attacker
incidents. Teachers should be CPR certified along with trauma and other emergencies. Teachers are
required to review basic first aid and CPR, Suicide Prevention, and emergency procedures, but this is
not enough. Teachers need to be able to deal with the problem till emergency personnel arrives. The

Scouts Journey to Womanhood Essay
As girls grow in life, they mature and change into women. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by
Harper Lee, Scout, the main character, begins to mature into a woman. In the beginning of the book,
she is a tomboy who cannot wait to pick a fistfight with anyone, but at the end, she lowers her fists
because her father, Atticus, tells her not to fight. Scout s views of womanhood, influenced by how
Aunt Alexandra, Miss Maudie, and Calpurnia act, make her think more about becoming a woman and
less of a tomboy.
In the beginning of the book, Scout is a tomboy. She acts, dresses, and walks like a boy because when
she was little her mom died, leaving her in a house with two men, Jem and Atticus. Scout has a lot of
masculine influence but no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

wants to talk to you about the family and what it s meant to Maycomb County though the years, so
you ll have some idea of who you are, so you might be moved to behave accordingly. (133)
Aunt Alexandra is mad at Atticus for defending Tom in the trial because it does not look good for the
family name. At the tea party Scout s views on Aunt Alexandra change, When she had them on the
road, Aunt Alexandra stepped back. She gave Miss Maudie a look of pure gratitude, and I wondered at
the world of women. Miss Maudie and Aunt Alexandra had never been especially clock and here was
Aunty silently thanking her for something (233). Scout respects Aunt Alexandra a lot more after this
scene happens; she sees that womanhood is not exactly how she imagines it and that it might not be
that bad after all.
Aunt Alexandra is a total opposite of Miss Maudie, the kind woman who lives across the street, and is

women in town, but rather simply lives her life maintaining a broad minded view about the trial and
many other things. She calls

Legal Research Of A Small Business With Roberto

1/ For starting a small business with Roberto, I strongly believe our business organization will be

partners and investors. Both of us have equal rights to manage and have agency to contract for the
company. Because of having the first small business together, our business organization do not allow

best farm for giving the milk, egg, and others organic supplies to make our products which means we
need to sign a contract with them for every month.
2/ In my opinion, if we want to start this business, based on Georgia law, we would involve and be

infringement is the using of another s mark without authorization or permission of the trademark
owner. Although they are not cheese package, they have name and logo that look same with cheese

we keep choosing their name and logo, we should buy franchise from their companies. However, we

The Disagreements Over the Health Effects of Probiotics Essay
Since the year 1965, the term probiotics has been used. Lilly and Stillwell were the first to describe
probiotics as substances secreted by one organism, which stimulated growth of other organisms
(Gupta, 2009). It was however, Elie Metchnikoff in the 1900s who first suggested that there were
health properties in lactic acid bacteria from fermented food products (Anukam, 2007). Since then, the
meaning has undergone some changes, one of the most recent definitions is that probiotics are
beneficial live microorganisms, which must be consumed in a sufficient amount for the desired health
effect (Guarner, 1998). The Food and Agriculture Organisation/World Health Organisation has
adopted this definition but there are many other organisations ... Show more content on

Therefore the bacterium ability to tolerate different pH levels is a crucial factor in determining their
probiotic use. Ability to attach to the gut epithelial cells and adequate production of antimicrobial
substances are also other important properties of probiotics (Granato, 2010). In terms of commercial
use and manufacturing, probiotics must be resilient and maintain cell viability during periods of
processing, packaging and storage (Saarela, 2009).
The number food companies that are now using strains of Lactic acid bacteria and Bifidobacteria in
their food products has increased considerably and it is now diary probiotic products that are making
between 60% 70% of the functional food market (Mohammadi, 2012). Fermented milk and yogurt
beverages are the main source of probiotics in supermarkets but there are also capsule and powder
formations in addition. The popularity of these products has increased due to the number of
documented benefits of consuming probiotic bacteria and support from media and marketing.
The documented health and nutritional benefits from consumption of probiotic food products show

Summary Of Women In Annawadi
2. In the novel, women in Annawadi don t have lots of freedom and rights. They are mistreated and
every family living in Annawadi dislikes each other because they are corrupted by greed and money.
Even in the urban slums, women like Zehrunisa and Asha wouldn t have more freedom because
women can t have a voice for themselves unless they have connections to other, more powerful
people. Other women dislike and spit hate at Zehrunisa and Asha because they are more successful
than them, rather than trying to work with them to be successful together. Since the people in
Annawadi are so corrupted by money, they disregard for others wellbeing and resort to fighting or
trash talk each other. For women, they are a burden for parents because of marriage and dowry. That is
why mothers and fathers want their daughters to be perfect, with no scars or anything that would
prevent them to get married. All the engagement is determined at a young age, so girls can not find
love for themselves. Meena s future in laws might not come to hear that they d chosen an impetuous
bride. (Boo 188). When Meena, a young Annawadi girl, tried to commit suicide with rat poison
because she hated the life she was living, her brother beat her up because now there would be less
chance for Meena to get married. Rather than the townspeople helping Meena, the were ashamed of
her and worried for her reputation than her health. In my view, the freedoms that the women in
Annawadi lack is a voice. The women cannot

The Importance Of Local Government
What is local government and how does something much smaller than the bigger picture have an more
immense impact on individual s lives? Local government is the administration, of a district, state, or
county, in which the citizen elects the officials corresponding to their particular area. Local
government is essential throughout America. It entitles people the right to have a say in what is going
on in their community, on a governmental stance. Local government, moreover, establishes and
enforce local laws. Local government, furthermore, is responsible for establishing and delivering a
range of quality to their community. Local government sets the direction in which they want to see
their region going in. Local government uses a long term plan in which they set: financial plans,
council plans, municipal strategic statement, and other strategic tactics. With the use of the tactics,
they determine how they want their region to progress. People should be concerned about their local
government because it allows them to have a say in what happens in their community, and it makes
local laws which directly affect the people in their region.
As previously stated, local government entitles people the right to have a say in their local
government. How would you feel if you had no say in what is happening in your community? Local
government gives individuals the capability to say what should happen in their community. It gives
people that fail safe that they have the ability to

Essay about Coal Mining and Its Impacts
Coal Mining and Its Impacts
Coal is a hard, black colored rock like substance. It is made up of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and
varying amount of sulphur. Coal was form as decomposition took place in the absence of oxygen and
much of the hydrogen content of the matter was eroded away, leaving a material rich in carbon. The
material was compressed over the years by sand and dirt, leaving the form of a carbon known as coal.
The different types of coals are Anthracite, bituminous, lignite, peat, coke, and charcoal. Coal is mined
out of the ground and used to produce energy. However, they are many deaths, injuries, and sickness
involved in mining coal.
The earliest known use of coal was in China. Coal from the Fun Shun ... Show more content on

I strongly believe that people should be educated about the December, 1907 3,000 coal mining deaths.
In 2001 there were 42 coal mining deaths. All these deaths meant wives loosing husbands and sons.
These deaths cause the lost of the bread winners in many house holds; which, would later add to
poverty and single parents.
Lung disease and accidents have always led to high rates of death or disability amongst miners. The
lung diseases that affect miners are called pneumoconiosis or black lung. Coal worker s
pneumoconiosis can be defined as the accumulation of coal dust in the lungs and the tissue s. Inhaled
coal dust enters the terminal bronchioles, and the carbon pigment is engulfed by alveolar and
interstitial macrophages. Phagocytes coal particles are transported by macrophages up the mucociliary
elevator and are expelled in the mucus or through the lymphatic system (Pneumoconiosis in China).
They were 310, 000 cases of pneumoconiosis disease in China. The cost of treating the disease was 5

pneumoconiosis identified among 29521 miners. These miners were only from a couple of states, and
they were examined from 1996 to 2002. Coal worker s pneumoconiosis brought deaths to a lot of
families. There were also cases in which children working in mines suffered from

Tenor Sax Analysis
The tenor sax features 24 keys.
Having to learn all of the fingerings on the tenor sax may seem to be an insurmountable task;
however, with the proper practice technique and the right fingering chart, you can learn the fingerings
and improve your skill. There are five ranges the saxophonist must memorize to become competent.
Learn each of these ranges by practicing major and minor scales each day along with a fingering chart.
First Octave
The first octave tenor sax fingerings are most often used in music. They range from the written A
below middle C to the C sharp an octave above middle C. To play the lowest note, hold down the first
three main keys of the left hand and the first three main keys of the right hand in addition to the low C

Using scientific pitch notation, middle C appears as C4. Each C above or below that gains or loses a
number. In this case, the second octave begins on D5 and extends to F6. To play the notes in this
range, you will need to use the left thumb or octave key. It is located at the top of the instrument on
the side. The first note uses the left thumb key, the first three main left keys and the first three main
right keys.
Lower Altissimo
The first note above the second octave is F sharp 6. This note may be played most easily use the
octave key along with the first and third left main keys and the first main right key. You may find that
you have to depress the lower Eb key as well if it is out of tune on your saxophone. The range of the
lower altissimo is a minor third and stretches from F sharp 6 to A6. Using the tenor saxophone
fingering chart, you should experiment to see what key combinations sound best.
Middle Altissimo
The middle altissimo range starts with A sharp 6 and ends on C sharp 7. The fingering for A sharp 6 is
less straightforward than the other fingerings. It requires the use of the octave key, the third key of the
left hand and the right hand C side key. The C side key is located in the middle of the set of three
smaller keys. Practice scales that extend into the altissimo register to learn your fingerings; scales help

Analyzing Predictors Of Success For Higher Education Among...
Working Title: Examining the History of Standardized Tests in Higher Education through a Critical
Race Lens and Analyzing Predictors of Graduate School Success among African Americans
Theoretical Framework and Proposed Research Study
The theoretical framework chosen to guide my research in analyzing predictors of success in higher
education among African American students is Critical Race Theory (CRT), with an emphasis in
education. Critical Race Theory in Education (CRTE) evolved from CRT, which is derivative of
Critical Legal Studies (CLS), a 1970 s movement which sought to expose and challenge the views that
legal reasoning was neutral, value free, and unaffected by social, and economic relations, political
forces, or culture phenomena (Brown Jackson, 2013, p. 9). CLS scholars successfully confirmed that
personal biases of judges compromised verdicts in legal cases, claiming that America s legal system
only reinforces an oppressive social order benefiting the dominant race more than the oppressed race
(Brown Jackson, 2013). CRTE scholars is indebted to CRT scholars (which is indebted to CLS
scholars), thus scholars of CRTE should be well versed in the history of CRT (and CLS).
History of Critical Race Theory
CRT emerged because of the Supreme Court and federal courts unconstitutional decisions in legal
cases involving discrimination against minorities (Brown Jackson, 2013). Brown and Jackson (2013)

1.2 Agricultural Extension System: the Bangladesh case In Bangladesh a multitude of agencies from
private and public origin offer extension support to the farmers (ASIRP, 2006). Although recent years
witness a noticeable change in agricultural extension service providers, the public institutions still
remain the dominant. The new entrants to the field include non governmental organizations (NGOs),
the private sector agribusiness enterprises and grass root institutions eg. Self Help and micro credit
Groups involving farming communities (WB, 2005).
DAE is the key department under the Ministry of Agriculture which provides extension support to
crop sector farmers. This organization has country wide coverage and operational staff. Other public
organizations involved in providing extension service in crop sectors are Agricultural Information

(BRDB), Cotton Development Board (CDB), Tea Board (TB), Department of Youth Development
(DYD), Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) etc. Except DAE other public extension
organizations have their own way of offering extension services.
NGOs started to provide their own extension services in the late 1970s to disseminate knowledge

With the introduction of the space shuttle in 1980, however, it has essentially become a transport and

enabled NASA to send millions of tons of cargo and equipment into low Earth obit, but its successor,

NASA would no longer function as a delivery company. It would resume its original vision to explore
the Universe and search for new life, and to inspire the next generation of explorers ( NASA Mission ,
2009).
NASA could be relieved of the routine task of sending astronauts and cargo into space by encouraging
private companies to develop the next generation of traditional rockets. Companies, such as Boeing,
would be able to do the job more efficiently and at a much lower cost than NASA could (Johnsson,
2010). NASA would be able to commission private companies to build rockets that would suit a
particular need much like the various branches of the military do for their own vehicles.
Once routine, commercial space flights become commonplace, NASA would be free to develop the
next generation of space exploration vehicles, which would most likely be based on plasma propulsion
technology ( Propulsion Systems , 2003). All of NASA s manpower and funding could be directed
towards researching and perfecting these new systems which would allow man to travel to distant
worlds at speeds much greater than is possible today.
Although some may be troubled by the idea of NASA eliminating its current manned space program,
the benefits are likely to become more apparent in time. By focusing on the future of space travel,
NASA will be able to develop programs

Primary Lymphedema Paper
Primary lymphedema occurs due to an intrinsic, most of the time genetic, aberration in the lymphatic
vasculature. Over the past decade, some of the key genetic factors leading to primary lymphedema
have been elucidated. In 2013, Connel and his colleagues created a clinical algorithm for the diagnosis
of primary lymphatic dysplasia [Figure 3.0].23 The figure demonstrates nine causal mutations linked
to primary lymphedema and we will briefly discuss some of these.
3.1 Milroy Disease
Milroy disease is a form of primary lymphedema, which presents with progressive swelling of the face
and lower extremities.24 It is characterized by the absence or marked diminution of lymphatic
vessels.25 Some cases have been associated with missense mutations in vascular endothelial growth
factor receptor 3 receptor tyrosine kinase (VEGFR3).26 The underlying pathology for this disease is
not the mere absence of initial lymphatic capillaries but the inadequacy of initial lymphatic fluid
absorption.3

Mdh Assay Lab Report
Enzymes are biological catalysts, usually made up of protein molecules that act on one or more
specific substrates, converting them to products with different molecular structures. Malate
Dehydrogenase (MDH) is one example of an enzyme that catalyzes oxaloacetic acid and NADH into
malic acid and NAD+ as part of the citric cycle. In order to perform the MDH assay, a solution of pure
MDH was collected from bovine heart. A control assay was performed, along with three experimental
groups to test concentration, pH, and temperature. Units of activity were calculated and showed that
all three variables have an effect on enzyme activity. MDH was shown to have an optimum pH,
concentration, and temperature at which enzyme activity was at its highest ... Show more content on

It was hypothesized that as the enzyme concentration increases, the reaction rate increases. Also that
as the pH moves away, both increasing and decreasing, from the optimum pH (7.5) the reaction rate
decreases. Lastly, as the temperature moves away, both increasing and decreasing, from the optimum
temperature (37 oC) the reaction rate decreases. All of the results, as described below, were consistent
with the hypothesis that was made. As the results show in Figure 1, as the concentration of enzymes is
increased, the units of activity also increased with the maximum being 0.0622 µmol/min at 1X
concentration. This may be because when the enzyme is in a higher concentration there is more
catalyst present, causing the reaction rate to increase. As Figure 2 shows, altering the pH, either higher
or lower, had a negative effect on the reaction rate. This indicates that the optimum pH for this
reaction is approximately 7.5, giving a rate of 0.0622 µmol/min. It is possible that altering the pH to
extreme highs or lows causes the configuration of the enzyme to be altered and inhibits the
biochemical system. The results also show that temperature has an affect on the reaction

Nuclear Weapons Are The Most Deadly
Nuclear weapons are the most deadly, destructive, and powerful form of technology that the world has
ever created. Officially, only 9 states out of 196 in the international arena have possession of them.
Although nuclear weapons are being eliminated by states, they still hold a significant value for nations
in the IR arena with a nuclear annihilation capacity. States within the international community that
own nuclear arsenals are automatically feared and respected because of the status symbol they hold.
Conversely, this prestige, power, and influence can also back fire on states and become a
disadvantage. States can lose power in the international community by causing tensions and dividing
themselves between states who don t have these nuclear advantages. France is one country in
particular that resembles a superpower with nuclear capability. France has gained power in the
International community through NATO due to their possession of nuclear weapons. Overall, nuclear
weapons still represent a great power in the International Arena today and will continue holding that
power. The ability to produce and launch dangerous, nuclear weapons help states earn a negotiation
power in the international community because nuclear power is equated to political power. A state that
owns nuclear weapons is feared, respected, and seen as a country that nobody wants to wage a war

Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution; put simply, it means that all living things originated
from one common ancestor and the strongest survive while the weak eventually die off. For years this
theory has been scientifically proven. There is solid evidence that humans today have similar features
to Neanderthals, who have similar features to monkeys and gorillas. Thus proving, that humans
descended from a different organism. As for plants and animals, there is evidence that many animals
and plants evolve from animals and plants that are already extinct. For example, reptiles, such as
lizards, birds, and crocodiles are all descendants of dinosaurs. Also, this proves Darwin s idea that the
weak eventually die off. Animals and plants today still show traits of animals and plants that existed
millions of years ago because that species died off in order for the new species that exists now to be
created. It is a scientific cycle where we, as organisms, slowly become stronger species as time goes
on. This being said, it does not make any logical sense that there is some greater being who makes
everything happen, when it is clear that everything is scientific and has a logical

Benefits Of Airline And Airport Privatization
1. Introduction
The airline industry is governed by a rapidly evolving framework of economic regulation by which
many factors, significantly continued liberalisation and open skies, have caused much turbulence and
uncertainty in this increasingly low margin market.
Although separate entities, airlines and airports are interdependent and could not operate without the
other. A major consequence of deregulation is airline concentration and strong economic drivers are
pushing towards even further concentration and consolidation (Doganis, 2006). UK airport regulation
was reformed with airport privatisation, enabling a long term focus to meet international demand and
to maintain a customer focused business plan, allowing management to monitor and adjust costs and
boost income.
The aim of this report is to examine these consequences, and the benefits of airline and airport mergers
and acquisitions, and will look specifically at the acquisition of Monarch Airlines by Jet2.com (known
as Jet2(b) later in this report). It will also look at similar acquisition benefits of Leeds Bradford

Essay Juggling
A Princeton researcher, Les Fehme (Brain/Mind Bulletin vol. 8, no. 9. May 1983), suggest we can
optimize our overall performance in life by broadening our focus. Juggling is one excellent way to do
that. He claims most people have a narrow focus, a lack of awareness of their own body sensations or
emotions. This narrow focus can be very absorbing and useful, as when talking on the telephone,
driving a motorcycle or getting a massage. It is as if nothing else exists except that. When learning
how to juggling, the narrow focus can be directed at a certain ball or pin. This narrow focus agrees
with observations that we live in a society which sees things as fragments rather than holistic. But
things are changing. And just maybe, juggling is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only that, but according to a test performed at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, lefties
scored higher in creativity than right handers regardless of age. It went on to explain four aspects of
creativity flexibility, fluency, originality and elaboration.
Since the right hemisphere is normally associated with creativity, then any activity which helps to
awaken this suppressed hemisphere is certainly welcome. Enter juggling. Who could argue juggling
does not use both sides of the brain? Both hands are used in juggling, aren t they? If an accomplished
juggler now wants to learn a new trick, once again the focus must become narrow, the ball or pin must
capture the attention (enter left brain activity). Like a beginning new juggler, he or she must focus on
throwing a double flip with the right hand before the left hand can throw a pin behind the back.
In teaching people to juggle, they learn faster when asked to tell each time they have done something
wrong. At first, they have no awareness of wrong movements. Once they recognize them, they can
eliminate them. Therefore it is essential to practice in order to learn juggling. The simplest movement
requires complex electrical/chemical circuitry within the brain. The study of this circuitry is fast
becoming an important field of neuroscience. Perhaps someday neurosurgeons will electronically
hook up a juggler and a monitor and the neuron action, which travels back and forth between the two

Recycling As Puerto Rico s New Economy
Puerto Rico s Economy
Before we delve into the viability of recycling becoming Puerto Rico s economy of the future it is
imperative to understand the current status of the commonwealth s economy. Puerto Rico is currently
experiencing an economic crisis. In the midst of a 10 year recession, it is now $72 billion in debt. The
unemployment rate is currently 11.8 compared to 6.6 in Alaska, which has the highest unemployment
rate of any state. The island also has a poverty rate twice that of America s poorest state, Mississippi.
In a CNN Money article titled Why Puerto Rico s economy is in a death spiral by Patrick Gillespie the
author explains that despite Puerto Rico having a similar population to that of Connecticut, 3.5
million, it carries the same debt load of New York State, 20 million. Gillespie believes that the
problems stem from massive government overspending, a big dependence on debt and a costly,
inefficient energy system. The Puerto Rican government has not been able to grow the economy for
years leading to a rise in unemployment, business moving away from the island, and Puerto Ricans
moving the United States for employment opportunities. Unlike other islands in the Caribbean, Puerto
Rico imports crude oil to generate electricity for its residents, which results in a very costly process.
Other islands are using a combination of solar and wind power, along with natural gas and oil. The

I was immediately attracted to the podiatry clinic in the department. The patient care and case variety
made me excited to learn more about it. The Podiatrist I work with everyday have been great
colleagues and mentors, as the knowledge and clinical experience they ve provided me with has
increased my passion for the profession. At the Orthopedic dept., we primarily serve the Airborne
Army Aviation Regiment, so we are always busy treating orthopedic injuries. In fact, Womack has the
largest and busiest military orthopedic department in the world. I assist on everything from planter
fasciitis to severe foot deformity. I routinely assist in simple procedure as shockwaves therapy to
major foot reconstruction surgeries. I have seen thousands of podiatric patients during my tour,
averaging 15 20 patients per day. As busy as we are, I feel confident in my enthusiasm to become a

Jealousy And Emilia s Death In Othello By William Shakespeare
Many plays and novels have a main theme that is developed by the death or multiple deaths of its
characters. Such plays and novels often make a statement about life and destiny in those scenes. In
Othello, written by William Shakespeare, the death of Desdemona (as well as the deaths of Emilia and
Othello) in Act 5, scene 2 illuminate the overarching meaning of the work as a whole. This play is a
tragedy. Therefore, there must be a tragic hero, who has a tragic flaw. This character would be Othello,
and he has misplaced his trust and has been overcome by jealousy, which ultimately leads to his
downfall. In Act 5, scene 2, Othello finally finishes his plan for revenge. He smothers his beautiful
wife Desdemona, which ultimately results in Emilia s death and Othello s suicide. The murder of
Desdemona throws off the balance of nature, and the wrong must be righted. This death scene
illuminates the main theme of the work, which states that deceit, jealousy, and misplaced ... Show

He wanted to satisfy his jealousy and insecurities. Once again, this was a result of misplaced trust. He
trusted his ensign Iago, but he did not trust his own wife. After Desdemona dies, Emilia reveals all that
Iago has done, Iago kills Emilia, and Othello commits suicide. Othello eventually realized the mistake
that he had made, but it was too late. He had been tricked by a deceitful Iago, and his jealous nature
and misplaced trust caused him to kill his wife. This was something that he would have never done if
he had been in his right mind. In response to finding out that he had been tricked, he killed himself. He
sought to regain his honor by sacrificing himself. In a way, this undoes all of the wrong that had been
done. His honor was regained and the wrong had been

Analysis Report On Management Accounting System
A management accounting system collects accounting information and converts the information to an
analysis report in order to help managers make correct decisions and let stakeholders fully understand
how the company runs. In another word, the main purpose of the management accounting system is
assessing the company s performance with the help of different measurements. Thus, management
accounting system reform should be closely linked to performance measurement. The most traditional
way to measure company s performance is comparing the historical financial figures. However, such
measure has been challenged by both academics and practitioners as the dysfunction consequences in
assessing rewards for managers and issues in capturing customer quality have been recognized. Under
this competitive environment, one traditional performance measurement may not be good enough to
fit all the businesses. In order to help businesses measure their performance accurately, the
innovations and changes may take place when designing and adopting the management accounting
system. Focusing on innovations and changes part firstly, two major schools were introduced to
companies. They are the stakeholder approach and shareholder approach, respectively. According to
the stakeholder approach, the competition on many dimensions will let the companies realize that they

Marble Drop Lab Report
Bryan Ruef

AP Physics Lab Report Marble Drop Experiment
Problem:
This lab was designed to prove that the height of an object launched on a ramp is relational to the
distance it goes off the ramp.
Hypothesis:
When releasing a marble off of a ramp on a table, the higher up that the marble starts on the ramp, the
farther it should land from the table on the ground.
Design:
We placed a small ramp on a table and used clamps to ensure the ramp wouldn t move and change our
results. With tape, we marked each height we would drop the marble from. Using a meter stick, we
measured the height of the table, base of the ramp, and the height of each place the marble would be
dropped. On our paper, which we taped to the ground to prevent ... Show more content on

This positive slope shows that as the ramp heights increased, so did the distance the marbles traveled.
However, there were problems with the experiment.
First, the meter stick did not have perfect ends. This caused uncertainty because the measurements
were not accurate. The meter stick was not compared with others to see if it was reasonably close.
Another error was that we did not have a constant release method. We placed the marble on the ramp
each time and just let go. The marble could have stuck to our hand and been released higher or lower
than we wanted it to. Also, there could have been human error since we released the marble by hand
and we could have moved up or down accidentally.
The final error was that we used multiple different marbles for the lab. They could have had different
weights or shapes. Even the slightest difference in shape would affect where it landed.
Solutions to the meter stick error are simple. We could have bought a new meter stick with perfect
ends. If we were not able to buy one, we could have compared it to many other meter sticks and used
whichever one was most

Designing The Robotic Arm Is Controlled By A...
In this paper a project is proposed to separate the objects from a set according to their colors. This can
be useful for categorization of the objects which move on a conveyer belt. The proposed method of
categorization is based on color of the object. In this project the system categorization of different
colors. The detection of the particular color is done by a light intensity to frequency converter method.
The robotic arm is controlled by a microcontroller based system which controls DC motor for picking
up the specified color from a moving objects conveyer belt.
In this project we will be using combination of microcontroller, Sensors and mat lab for some
virtualization. When a different combination of objects moving on industrial conveyer belt it s very
difficult or labor consuming to separate the objects based on the color , As machinery is capable to
produce the different color objects at the same time or different machineries produce the different
color objects and dump on the same conveyer belt. At this point of time our project provides value
added service in picking up the objects based on their color for packing or distinguishing.

  • 4. What Is The Representation Of Crime In The Media Within media and society there are seemingly different representations of race and crime. They are different in how they are constructed for their perceived audience in the majority and the opinion that is supposed to be evoked by the event. Within the public perception of crime in reality there is abundant racism that has been socially constructed over many generations. Whereas media crime is gentrified and critiqued in such a way as to support fears and intrigue into crime through violence from what could rarely happen to the viewer. When both of these are combined the social construction of race is reinforced. Through crime television shows the allure of feeling a crime through draws an audience. The allure of crime for the general public is the deviant behavior itself. Crime brings about multiple questions that crime dramas answer. Why would a person commit such a crime? Why was that person a victim? What are the surrounding circumstances? These are questions arise for most violent crimes in society, but in the news media not much is reported as the police must keep investigations under wraps. Resulting in an area of intrigue between the action and the courtroom that primarily focuses on the action itself and the extenuating circumstances of the action. This is where television dramas fill the void by quenching the public s thirst for insight into the social taboo of violent Mala Prohibita crimes. In the first and second cuttings, the dry weight was affected by the weed non interference and plant density (Tables 1 and 3). The weed non interference significantly increased dry weight of alfalfa and it could have a direct impact on dry yield. Elevated density per unit area was directly related to the dry weight, and the highest dry weight yield was obtained at density of 80 stems per square meter; hence, the appropriate planting density is very noteworthy. The researchers have considered repeatedly the importance of determining the appropriate density of alfalfa planting and other crops (Raoofi and Giti, 2015). The results of combined analysis showed that the fresh weight and dry weight were under the influence of cutting, hand weeding and plant density (Table 5). In his speech president Kennedy claims that everyone needs to come together and solve the world problems peacefully, he uses emotional appeal, strong word choice, and ethical appeal to support his claim. To begin with, JFK effectively uses emotional appeal to support his claim that everybody needs to together and solve problems peacefully. To start, Kennedy says, we dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. • 16. Persuasive Essay On Obesity As years go by American weight struggle has been getting worse. People with diabetes today has more than double since 1994. While there are ways to help bring down obesity, most companies have not taken action. There are many factors to why obesity has only been increasing all these years. First off, in Radley Balko essay, What You Eat Is Your Business he thinks people need to start being responsible for their actions, because maybe it will help people from being so obese. Health Insurances should reward people for having a health style. Radley Balko talks about that if someone is paying for his health medicines, what is stopping him from not having something unhealthy (467). Nutritional testing is being conducted on restaurants by Congress (Balko 467). In addition, in David Zinczenko essay Don t Blame the Eater he indicates unhealthy food places make it easy for kids to get to and are not warning kids about the food they eat. Kids often go for cheaper meals, which usually means going to some fast food place. David Zinczenko said that if you want something healthy, you may have to make a little farther drive for that (463). From 1994 to today childhood cases of Type 2 diabetes went up about 25 percent (Zinczenko 463). When eating at a fast food restaurant people cannot see how much calories they are consuming from their meals. Eating two meals a day from fast food places is not a good idea, because you will consume way more than you should be for calories. If you are trying to watch out for how much calories you have at a fast food place then you should make sure you are considering everything you order. Some places may tell you how many calories is in their burgers or nuggets, but that does not include any sauces you may want (Zinczenko 463 464). At this rate, more people will just become obese and/or have diabetes. • 25. The Importance Of Local Government What is local government and how does something much smaller than the bigger picture have an more immense impact on individual s lives? Local government is the administration, of a district, state, or county, in which the citizen elects the officials corresponding to their particular area. Local government is essential throughout America. It entitles people the right to have a say in what is going on in their community, on a governmental stance. Local government, moreover, establishes and enforce local laws. Local government, furthermore, is responsible for establishing and delivering a range of quality to their community. Local government sets the direction in which they want to see their region going in. Local government uses a long term plan in which they set: financial plans, council plans, municipal strategic statement, and other strategic tactics. With the use of the tactics, they determine how they want their region to progress. People should be concerned about their local government because it allows them to have a say in what happens in their community, and it makes local laws which directly affect the people in their region. As previously stated, local government entitles people the right to have a say in their local government. How would you feel if you had no say in what is happening in your community? Working Title: Examining the History of Standardized Tests in Higher Education through a Critical Race Lens and Analyzing Predictors of Graduate School Success among African Americans Theoretical Framework and Proposed Research Study The theoretical framework chosen to guide my research in analyzing predictors of success in higher education among African American students is Critical Race Theory (CRT), with an emphasis in education. Critical Race Theory in Education (CRTE) evolved from CRT, which is derivative of Critical Legal Studies (CLS), a 1970 s movement which sought to expose and challenge the views that legal reasoning was neutral, value free, and unaffected by social, and economic relations, political forces, or culture phenomena (Brown Jackson, 2013, p. 9). CLS scholars successfully confirmed that personal biases of judges compromised verdicts in legal cases, claiming that America s legal system only reinforces an oppressive social order benefiting the dominant race more than the oppressed race (Brown Jackson, 2013). CRTE scholars is indebted to CRT scholars (which is indebted to CLS scholars), thus scholars of CRTE should be well versed in the history of CRT (and CLS). Malate Dehydrogenase (MDH) is one example of an enzyme that catalyzes oxaloacetic acid and NADH into malic acid and NAD+ as part of the citric cycle. In order to perform the MDH assay, a solution of pure MDH was collected from bovine heart. A control assay was performed, along with three experimental groups to test concentration, pH, and temperature. Units of activity were calculated and showed that all three variables have an effect on enzyme activity. It was hypothesized that as the enzyme concentration increases, the reaction rate increases. Also that as the pH moves away, both increasing and decreasing, from the optimum pH (7.5) the reaction rate decreases. Lastly, as the temperature moves away, both increasing and decreasing, from the optimum temperature (37 oC) the reaction rate decreases. All of the results, as described below, were consistent with the hypothesis that was made. As the results show in Figure 1, as the concentration of enzymes is increased, the units of activity also increased with the maximum being 0.0622 µmol/min at 1X concentration. This may be because when the enzyme is in a higher concentration there is more catalyst present, causing the reaction rate to increase. As Figure 2 shows, altering the pH, either higher or lower, had a negative effect on the reaction rate. This indicates that the optimum pH for this reaction is approximately 7.5, giving a rate of 0.0622 µmol/min. It is possible that altering the pH to extreme highs or lows causes the configuration of the enzyme to be altered and inhibits the biochemical system. Using a meter stick, we measured the height of the table, base of the ramp, and the height of each place the marble would be dropped. On our paper, which we taped to the ground to prevent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This positive slope shows that as the ramp heights increased, so did the distance the marbles traveled. However, there were problems with the experiment. First, the meter stick did not have perfect ends. This caused uncertainty because the measurements were not accurate. The meter stick was not compared with others to see if it was reasonably close. Another error was that we did not have a constant release method. We placed the marble on the ramp each time and just let go. The marble could have stuck to our hand and been released higher or lower than we wanted it to. Also, there could have been human error since we released the marble by hand and we could have moved up or down accidentally. The final error was that we used multiple different marbles for the lab. They could have had different weights or shapes. Even the slightest difference in shape would affect where it landed. Solutions to the meter stick error are simple. We could have bought a new meter stick with perfect ends. If we were not able to buy one, we could have compared it to many other meter sticks and used whichever one was most ... • 46. Designing The Robotic Arm Is Controlled By A... In this paper a project is proposed to separate the objects from a set according to their colors. This can be useful for categorization of the objects which move on a conveyer belt. The proposed method of categorization is based on color of the object. In this project the system categorization of different colors. The detection of the particular color is done by a light intensity to frequency converter method. The robotic arm is controlled by a microcontroller based system which controls DC motor for picking up the specified color from a moving objects conveyer belt. In this project we will be using combination of microcontroller, Sensors and mat lab for some virtualization. When a different combination of objects moving on industrial conveyer belt it s very difficult or labor consuming to separate the objects based on the color , As machinery is capable to produce the different color objects at the same time or different machineries produce the different color objects and dump on the same conveyer belt. At this point of time our project provides value added service in picking up the objects based on their color for packing or distinguishing.
