The lighting inside is mostly natural light, in the entrance there are three big five big windows which
surround most the seating area which make it pretty bright inside especially with all of the lights
inside that are on at all times. The environment in his building is very calm, there are few
conversations going on, generally people are there working, not very many people come to hang out in
this space. The acoustics in this building are horrible in my opinion and it needs to be fixed. With the
noises from the coffee makers, loud music playing throughout the store and people having
conversations the only thing they have to help with the acoustics of the place are acoustic ceiling tiles.
The owner was drawn to this location because it was close it was to the highway and that it was in the
middle of a the biggest shopping area in topeka and it is only about a fifteen minute drive from both
sides of town which is convenient for those who live here. The location of this store also has some
drawbacks, since it is in the middle of a big shopping area they are always busy and having a drive
through just makes the job that much harder. Which is the result of one of their future goals for this
business or space. Many customers complain about the wait in the drive through and the work area for
the employees is the problem. The work area for the employees is in a L shape which can get very
crowded and make it hard for the employees to get orders out

Walmart Is The Nation s Largest Business
The first Walmart was opened on July 2, 1962 in Rogers Arkansas. It was the visionary work of Sam
Walton. In 1967 Waltons family already owned 24 stores and had 12.7 million dollars on sales. By
1980 Walmart had already had 276 stores and employed 21,000. In 1992 Sam Walton said the
company s mission which was to save people money so they can live better. In 1993 walmart
celebrated its first one billion sales for a week. In 2000 customers were allowed to shop online. By
2002 wal mart had passed the 500 largest American companies. Walmart has spread to 27 different
countries outside the United States. Now Walmart is the nation s largest business in the world. It
employs 1.4 million people with 5,239 locations within the United States locations. Walmart has had
questionable ethical business practises in there stores. Low wages at Walmart locations have been a
problem. A report from the National Employment Law Project states that the low prices at Walmart
provided to the customers have a hidden cost to the workers. For Walmart to have it s low prices and
to still have a profit they have to pay low wages to the workers. Its low wages have a negative effect to
all the 2.2 million workers walmart has. This makes it harder for the workers to buy food, housing and
other bills like the water and the light. Wal mart has plumed wages in it s places of supply by hiring
people outside the company to provide it s services that traditionally are performed within Wal mart s
warehouse.

Leopold II European Imperialism
Under the pretext of magnanimity, Leopold II, a Belgium king in search of another empire, initiates
his imperial vision into the heart of Africa. However, his egocentric motivations favor his desire for
prestige and personal wealth for himself and Belgium. Moreover, he conspires to accomplish his self
centered purposes while creating a façade of advancing benefits for the people of Africa. Despite his
self seeking motives, his European influence didn t affect just himself but many African lives. The
thrust of European imperialism brings Christianity, trade, and industrialization to Africa and drives the
formation of the Congo Free State. As a result of European presence in Africa, particularly through the

The Embodiment Of Tradition In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Brian Sandoval 10/27/17
Mr. Amoroso AP Literature Pd. 3 Awakening LAP Topic 4 Life has an abundance of crossroads that
we must pass in order to reach the zenith of our long and arduous journey to self realization. One in
particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to soar high in
the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. Many do not dare leave the comforts of the grass, haunted
by the swift and deathly fall that is sure to follow and therefore mark anyone foolhardy to try as idiotic
for even thinking of accomplishing the impossible. Yet who is the fool; the person brave enough to
soar, willing to risk the unrecoverable drop down or the person who has already resigned to their
position in the plains, content with this fate? Edna Pontellier, the main protagonist of Kate Chopin s
The Awakening, is conflicted by this choice after she has plucked the already fragmenting mask
society has made her wear and shattered it. Now aware of the façade and free of ignorance, Edna
seeks guidance from her close confidants in order steer herself in the right direction. Through the
conversation had with Adele Ratignolle, the embodiment of tradition, and Mademoiselle Reisz, the
embodiment of eccentricity, Edna finds the answer to her own confliction. Adele Ratignolle is the
perfect representation of the traditional woman of the 1890 s, a woman devoted to her children and
husband, the type of woman that Edna is expected to be by

Secondhand Lions Film Analysis
The director s use of film techniques showed significant changes through the characters in the film
Secondhand Lions .The big, significant events that changed the characters are when Hub said to
Walter that he will stay around to say his man speech , when Walter found out his mother was lying
and when Walter jumps out of the car. This was done through camera angles, storyline, music and
much more.
The first important event that started shaping Walter is when he finds out that his mother lied to him.
Mae said I m going to be working my tail off learning court reporting ; instead she dumps him off at
his two uncles house and goes to Las Vegas. Walter finds this out by a phone call to The Fort Worth
College of Court Reporting. They say that his mother never enrolled. At the moment, the director uses
camera angles and music to display to the audience how Walter feels. He shows a close up from above
to show Walter is weak and he put sad, awful music to inform the audience how Walter feels.
However, this is not the case with Hub. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

When Hub promised, the director used lighting and camera angles to show how happy Walter was
about that. The background was lit up show how happy the mood was and the camera angles showed
Hub and Walter as a happy family. This proved to the audience that Hub is now acting as a true uncle
towards Walter. Therefore, that is why Walter risked his life for him and

The North American Free Trade Agreement. One Of The Major
The North American Free Trade Agreement One of the major keys to having two or more parties
successfully trade and invest with each other is the ability to make agreements peacefully and come to
similar terms. Many times, people would like to trade goods and services, but cannot agree on the
terms each other have made. This can obviously cause many problems with trading and is the reason
many deals do not go through, which can impact not only the people involved, but many more people
very negatively. This is why agreements are so important in today s world, and the North American
Free Trade Agreement is no exception. What is the North American Free Trade agreement, also known

marketplace, and a market that is driven more by supply and demand.
NAFTA has many components. Some of these include tariff elimination for qualifying products,
Elimination of nontariff barriers by the year 2008, tariff reduction for motor vehicles and auto parts,
expanded telecommunications trade, reduced textile and clothing barriers, more free trade in
agriculture, Mexican import licenses should be gotten rid of, expanded trade in financial services,
opening of insurance markets, increased investment opportunities, liberalized regulation of land
transportation, and many more according to inc.com/encyclopedia. All these components help make
trading between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico simpler and more efficient. The Trade Agreement has
provided North America with many benefits. One of them is NAFTA quadrupled trade. According to
Kimberly Amadeo, from 1993 2015, trade between the three members quadrupled, from $297 billion
to $1.14 trillion. That boosted economic growth, profits, and jobs for all three countries. It also
lowered prices for consumers. The trade pushed this all to happen because it eliminated the tariffs and
made it easier for the North American countries to come together and trade.
NAFTA also helps the three countries by lowering the prices on exported goods. The United States
imported 144 billion dollars of oil which is

he digestive system is a physiological marvel, composed of finely orchestrated chemical and physical
activities. The food we ingest must be broken down to its molecular form for us to get the nutrients we

achieve this goal as efficiently as possible. As food passes through the gastrointestinal tract, it is
progressively broken down by the mechanical action of smooth muscle and the chemical action of
enzymes until most nutrients have been extracted and absorbed into the blood.

Similarities Between The American Revolution And The...
The Glorious Revolution and The American Revolution had similarities. Each ended with practically
the same thing as each other. They both are just in different times and with different people. The
Glorious Revolution, also known as the 1688 Revolution, basically put an end to King James II and it
started to put a start to religious freedom. King James was a Catholic. He wanted everyone to worship
that religion. In 1687 James created a declaration of indulgence. It suspended the penal laws against
dissenters and recusants against his religion. In April 1688, he made another declaration of indulgence,
saying that every sunday everyone must come to the church and worship his religion. There were
people who tried to petition against him like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the religion they wanted. When this happened Britain came along with them so they wouldn t get too
far away from their authority. Britain made every citizen their pay taxes on items like tea, clothes, or
food. That was when some anarchist did the Boston Tea Party in 1773. They took out all the tea and

were rioting against the redcoats, also known as Britain. People would try to contact the King of
Britain to ask they can stop but each time they asked the king got harder on them. The king knew that
they were having meetings. The king didn t like it so much where he forced the redcoats into their

disaster cause the family to relocate and abandon their home, and their past. In times of crisis, the

hopes of finding new jobs and a new home. On their 2,000 mile journey a leader arises among the

Ma Joad s selfless behavior is continually witnessed throughout their journey to the west. The most
stunning and disturbing act of heroism is seen at Daggett. Grandma was already dead when they
reached the inspection point. Ma Joad had to lie to the inspectors and to her family that Grandma was
sick and had to get to the hospital quick. Ma had lied for the greater cause of getting her family safely
across the desert. Once they arrived, Ma spoke the truth, Grandma s dead . . . I tol Granma we couldn

There was the young ones an Rosasharn s baby (228). The family looked at Ma with a little terror at
her strength. She did not want to burden the family with Grandma s death, and so she kept it a secret.
Ma was able to mask her pain from the others. Ma has performed this selfless act out of love. Ma
wanted to ensure that the rest of her family reaches their final destination, unlike Grandma, who did
not make it. Ma s selfless behavior is also displayed when the family was camped at Hooverville. Ma
was making stew when the fifteen children, all fifteen of them, stood silently and watched . . . The
children were embarrassed to be there, but they did not go (253). Ma knew there wasn t enough food
for her family and the starving children. She confessed, I can t rob the fambly. I got to feed the fambly.

Matthew 1 And Luke 3 Controversy
There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding the differences in the accounts of the birth and up
through the early years of Jesus life in the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Of course, one of the greatest
points of controversy is the difference in the genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3. It is vitally
important to remember that the two accounts are written to two different people groups and focuses on
two different faces or distinctions of the life of Jesus. Matthew is written to the Jews with a focus on
Jesus as King of the Jews, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Luke is written to the Gentiles with a focus
on Jesus as the Son of Man, or the Prophet emphasizing his humanity. Matthew traces the lineage
through the line of kings back to David ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Luke tells us of an angel appearing and bringing this wonderful news to shepherds in the
fields keeping their sheep. These shepherds then come and find the babe as foretold, wrapped in
swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. It is evident from this account that Jesus is likely less than 24
hours old at this time. The shepherds then spread the wonderful news. Jesus was circumcised the 8th
day there in Bethlehem. After Mary s purification, they went to Jerusalem to present Jesus to the Lord
and offer the sacrifices required for the male that opens the womb, according to Jewish law. Then we
have no further details about Jesus childhood from Luke until at age twelve Jesus and his family go to
Jerusalem for the annual feast of the Passover. In reference to the confusion between the two accounts,
the first thing we must notice is the timeline difference. Luke was days leading up to and days after
Christ s birth up to around 40 days after. In Matthew, however, we find in chapter 2 it begins the
account of the wise men from the east coming to Jerusalem. Instead of an angel appearing to them,
they reveal they saw a star appear in the east. This star appeared at Christ s birth prompting the wise
men to travel to Jerusalem in search of this

Zoos Should Be Banned
Imagine walking through the zoo as a child, thinking how awesome it is to see all of those big
interesting animals you would never get to encounter in the wild. Now think of walking through the
zoo when you are older seeing these same animals in a very different light. Instead of seeing animals
happily living their lives you see animals wandering aimlessly around their small enclosures looking
bored to tears and depressed. Is it fair that we keep these animals cooped up specifically for our own
entertainment? What right do we have to capture, contain, and breed these precious animals as we
please? Why should we get to control their lives when they could obviously be living a better life
elsewhere? Often these questions are meet with responses of conservation and education, but in reality
those defenses have little backing. No animal should be forced to live in captivity for its whole life,
which is why zoos should be banned since they are truly unjust to the animals living in them. The first
and most obvious sign of being treated unjustly is the size of the animals enclosures. Sure the
enclosures may seem large at a glance, but they are definitely not measuring up to the miles and miles
of freedom that the animal would have in the wild. Especially for traveling animals such as elephants
this creates a large problem. These animals are known to travel approximately thirty miles per day in
the wild, and have no chance of doing that in the spaces they are confined to in zoos

The Road Is Not A Risk Free Environment
Our motor industry is persistently evolving, and it is contributing towards an increasing 0number of
people being able to afford personal vehicles. We may purchase a car as a mode of daily transport, or
for fun, but by riding a sports bike, we are putting our lives at a much greater risk. Presently there is
an absence of certain regulations for motorcyclists, which is a serious and valid safety concern.
Chances of injuries and fatalities become extremely high when we get into a collision on a 2 wheeled
vehicle; there is nothing besides safety gear to save you from harm when you are jerked out of your
seat right into the face of danger. It is and should be your choice to ride a motorcycle, and that mostly
all of us can agree on. The problem, however, exists when people are making that choice without
having the right knowledge, mindset, utilizing the correct gear, or having proper training.
While it is true that the road is not a risk free environment regardless of the mode of transport, and that
we as individuals cannot control the actions of our fellow driver s, we can at least, with our
experience, keep ourselves measurably safer in a car. It is clearly a game of life and death when a
small nudge from any other vehicle can easily kill you as a result, and yet many chose to chance these
odds for the thrill. The estimated ratio for deaths in a car per mile, opposed to a motorcycle in 2014,
was 1:27! And, for an inexperienced motorist, these accidents are far less

Causes Of The Watergate Scandal
Considering the post war era of American society and the intense political conflicts, the Watergate
scandal increased problems in society. The Watergate scandal was a result of many events beginning
in the late 1950 s to 1960 s such as Vietnam, Nixon s campaign, and the Pentagon papers. In the late
1960 s Richard Nixon won the presidency over Hubert Humphrey in what is called the closest election
in American history. This election was the beginning to what would become the Watergate scandal in
1970 s. Some of Nixon s policies for the government involved expansion of federal agencies, which
gave him easy access to classified documents or files.
One major event that triggered the infamous scandal was in 1971 when the Pentagon Papers were
released by the New York Times; A few months later, the Plumbers unit broke into an office in attempt
to discover files on who released them, Daniel Ellsberg. These Plumbers broke into the Democratic
National Committee in attempt to find information about Nixon s opponent. Many public officials
were involved in the cover up and break in itself which led to widespread corruption in the
government. Some of those involved in these events were James McCord, a former CIA agent;
Richard Nixon, the president; Sam Ervin, the man who first began to investigate the crimes; John
Dean; John Ehrlichman and Gordon Liddy. Many events led up to the Watergate scandal, but it left a
major mark on American history and holds a crucial significance to the

Epilepsy Silent Killers
There have been many silent killers that have concerned mankind since the dawn of time. It is
underestimated and underdiagnosed but it is the most frequently prevalent neurological disorders.
Epilepsy and all its forms is as much of a concern today as it was thousands of years ago. Our oldest
description that defines the symptoms of epileptic seizures was written two thousand years ago BC
(Magiorkinis E1, 2010). Epileptic seizures are the result of excessive and abnormal nerve cell activity
in the brain. This puts them at an increased risk of death due to the brains abnormal control of
secondary organ systems. The risk increases as people age. Worldwide the overall percentage of
epileptic diagnosis encompasses nearly three percent of the population ... Show more content on

However, medication therapy has been proven to be successful for almost three quarters of patients
with generalized seizures. Unfortunately only fifty percent of epileptics with partial seizures are able
to control seizure activity with medication. In the developing world nearly eighty percent of cases are
inappropriately or not treated at all (centre, 2015). Depending on the age of the patient, the patient is
nearly two to four times more at risk for early death during a seizure episode. The primary treatment
for epilepsy is phenobarbital which is the least expensive anticonvulsant used to control generalized
and partial seizures. Unfortunately due to its abuse potential it is often a controlled substance in
countries and therefore not recommended as a first line of treatment. The lack of the ability to treat the
majority of cases has led to severe social stigmas of epileptics and in many cases denial of the
privileges such as being able to marry or drive a vehicle. Even with proper treatment nearly three out
of ten epileptics continue to have seizures despite anticonvulsant therapy. A further estimated twenty
percent can control their seizure activity if a second or third anticonvulsant is added to their regimen.
Other than anticonvulsant medications minimizing or eliminating seizure triggers is the priority of
therapy. Understanding the patients sensitivities are useful in indicating when a seizure will occur.

Pacific Adventist University is an institution where people from all over the Pacific, Papua New
Guinea and other parts of the world come to learn and get educated. Indeed it is the most beautiful

The behavior of the students consciousness towards littering in the campus is not really getting out of
hand. Not all students have the don t care attitude as the result is stating. Students falls into two
different categories. There are students who have the heart to keep their study environment clean and
there are those who do not. Those that practice littering have a fair idea that it is wrong. But yet they
tend do it without thinking. The next paragraph will describe further on such behavior of the students .
According to the result everybody is trying to say that they do not want littering. For the positive
statements they are responding positively and for the negative statement they are responding
negatively. Students may not want to discard rubbishes like piece of paper or an empty packet of
something anywhere, but apparently they do. This may happen due to laziness, maybe because
ofdistance between them and the rubbish bin. They do not want to walk because it might take some of
their time (time factor). This clearly shows that students have attitude problem even though they are
educated. Knowing that littering is wrong and yet doing it can explain that there is an attitude
problem. Cialdini and others (1981:255) strongly agree that littering is a measure of attitude . Littering
especially occurs when someone (who cares) is not watchingor witnessing

maladaptive relationship patterns, transference and countertransference, exploration of unconscious
motives and fantasies, and relate his current experiences to his past experiences (Friederich, Zeeck
Herzog, 2015).
Altogether, Steven s ego defense mechanism has failed to control his unacceptable id impulses, which
lead to his chronic worry and negative ruminations. Insofar, his childhood experiences coupled with
both his parents being alcoholics, has conflicted with Steven s unconscious forces, since becoming
aware that he is expecting his first child. Or perhaps, his fixation on the actions of his parents could
have impacted him. Irrespective of both, they are all important in helping us to understand Steven s
presenting concerns and allowing him to gain a deepened understanding of self and others, recognize
his strengths and challenges and develop or increase his capacities to cope more effectively (Borden,
2000; Cortina, 2010).

Twelfth Night Essay
When two people are in a romantic relationship, marriage is usually the ultimate goal. Marriage is
precious, formal and sacred. In the play, Twelfth Night, three marriages are depicted. One of the
marriages has happened because of a mistake and the other given as a reward. Which means that one
marriage will be more long lasting than the other. In my opinion, Viola and Orsino s marriage is going
to be the most successful because of their love and commitment to each other, the length of time they
have known each other and finally the trust between them. Firstly, love and commitment is one of the
many factors that contribute to a successful marriage. Love and commitment allow couples to act with
integrity, respect and care for each other. The readers can clearly see the commitment Viola has for
Duke Orsino when she says, After him I love/More than I love these eyes, more than my life,/More,
by all mores, than e er I shall love wife (V. i. 130 132). This proves that Viola ... Show more content

Love is built on trust therefore we can only love someone we trust. In the play, we can immediately
see the trust between Orsino and Viola at the very beginning. Orsino reveals the trust he has for Viola
when he expresses, Cesario,/Thou know st no less but all. I have unclasp d/To thee the book even of
my secret soul;... (I. iv. 12 14). This demonstrates Orsino s evident trust for Viola. He is able to share
all of his secrets with Viola only after three days of knowing each other. Couples can only express
their feelings freely to each other, feel secure and safe when they trust each other. Therefore, the trust
Viola and Orsino has for each other is a vital asset they have that will make them different from the
other two couples and it is this that will make them the most successful marriage in the play. Without
trust, relationships will fall

The Navajos Indians were a peaceful simple people. D.H. Lawrence found this culture a wonder, and
he portrays it in Mornings in Mexico. D.H. traveled all around the world and found that New Mexico

Piaget Observation
Cognitive Development: Transition between Preoperational Concrete Stages
Piaget believed that human development involves a series of stages and during each stage new
abilities are gained which prepare the individual for the succeeding stages. The purpose of this study is
to evaluate the differences between two stages in Piaget s Cognitive Development Theory—the
preoperational stage and concrete operational stage. Cognitive development refers to how a person
constructs thought processes to gain understanding of his or her world through the interaction of
genetic and learned factors. The development of new cognitive structures (mental maps or schemas)

The power of suggestion, which is how a person says something, demonstrated that Adriana was
easily persuaded to change her mind. When the experimenter performed task two and three, he asked
her why she thought the amounts were the same and she simply explained what she saw visually, but
she always looked for confirmation in her answer from the experimenter. Adriana was then asked
about where she thinks dreams come from and she said they were scary . She couldn t mentally come
up with any other reasons of where she thought they came from, which demonstrated her inability to
think abstractly or logically.
Isaac was able to agree on each task that initially all the quantities were the same, but was easily
influenced once the pennies were moved, the water was placed into a different size glass and the clay
was rolled into a different size shape. He thought the row of pennies that was spread out had more
pennies, the glass that was taller had more water and the clay that was rolled out had more clay. When
asked why he thought there was more, he used concrete physical descriptions about what he saw such
as the glass was taller or of a different size and that the clay was longer . This demonstrated Isaac s
inability to conserve and that he is indeed in the preoperational stage, as Piaget suggests. When
presented with the last task, Isaac first said he didn t know and then once the experimenter encouraged

In 1997 I was a Marine Aircraft Firefighter stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South

Two places every tour group would visit was the military police and the fire station; we were the fire

our Marines performed a drill where an alarm would sound; they would come down the slide from

small controlled fire. On this particular occasion it was a group elementary school kids from the local
school district. Draughn looked at me and said. Look at these kids, just think, as innocent as they look
now, in about 10 to 15 years some will be murders, and criminals. I laughed and agreed; realizing that
criminals come from everyday walks of life; as I reflect that was the first time I can truly pinpoint the
first time I had a biased perspective on the younger generation. I was 29 years old at the time and
looked like I was 20. I was before I was shot so I weighed at the most 160 lbs., and it s hard to say I

Case Study Psycho Oncology
INTRODUCTION
Psycho oncology is the psychological response of a patient and their family to cancer of all stages of
the disease and also the psychological, behavioural and social factors that may influence the disease
process (Holland et al, 2010). Cancer is a distressing disease, the psychological effect of being
diagnosed with cancer can be significant and therefore, holistic care is essential to ensure that patients
physical and mental needs are met and to encourage adherence to ongoing management of their
condition (Holland 2001). In holistic patient care, it not only involves the physical heath but also the
emotional, psychological, social, spiritual and environmental areas of an individual s life too. In psych
oncology, all this conditions are managed together to treat the patient as a whole.
For the purpose of this assignment, a case study of a breast cancer patient will be discussed. The aim

Similarities Between Jamestown And Plymouth Colonies
Coming to America, many different groups of people had a hard time migrating here and trying to
survive. Although many came well equipped for the hard journey, being new to the land made it
harder for them to build colonies and thrive. This is because they came across many unexpected
hardships that they were not prepared for mentally and physically. In this essay, I will talk about two
different groups that migrated to America and how they adjusted to the new land and the new way of
life. The colonies of Jamestown and Plymouth Plantation both had many similarities and a few
differences when they came to America in the journey to build more and more colonies. When
Jamestown had decided to set sail to make colonies in America, John Smith ... Show more content on

new things. Although he was liked and was able to sustain himself, he knew he had to go back to his

was gone. They continued to lack food and the system they had as a government was falling apart. So
they all came to the conclusion that Smith should be elected president because he had learned from the
tribe how to set up and run an efficient government. Although Smith was very strict with the colonists,
by being so, the colony was able to get back on their feet and thrive. Later on as time passed, Smith

Bantu Migrations Essay
The Bantu migrations had a vast influence on the development of Africa. The Bantu peoples passed on
many concepts to the rest of Sub Saharan Africa. Originating from Nigeria in the Niger River Valley,
the Bantu migrated south and then spread to both the east and west. The Bantu laid the foundation for
Sub Saharan African societies. They spread agriculture, animal domestication, iron metallurgy, and
cultural development throughout southern Africa. Various forms of government have developed as a
result of the Bantu migrations. They also contributed to the start of many societies, including the
Swahili city states. The adaptations the Bantu people learned, especially the making of iron, helped
them to expand and spread their discoveries. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with iron, bananas helped the Bantu expand into areas not possible before, allowing for these
amazing spreading of the Bantus discoveries. Once iron and bananas were well established within
Bantu tribes, about 1000 CE, their population sizes grew to about twenty two million!
The Bantu stopped migrating during the first century CE and started to form complex government for
the settled villages they already had. Stateless societies are forms of government that are not run by a
hierarchy, but rather through family or kinship groups. The start of these family based government
systems influenced the development of villages, districts, city states, and small and large kingdoms.
The Swahili tribe originating off of the eastern cost of Sub Saharan Africa was a prime example of
Bantu government. Being Bantu themselves, the Swahili show how the Bantu spread not only
government, but also societies as a whole. Just as the Bantus influence on developing Africa, kinship
groups, or family based governing systems, started out small and eventually grew into massive
kingdoms ruling and influencing entire regions. As in many other places throughout the world,
kingdoms brought a need for protection from neighboring regions. The Bantu seeded the beginnings
of African societies, along with starting military development and growth throughout southern Africa.
One huge aspect of the Bantu tribes migrations was the amount of religion and rituals they spread
throughout Sub Saharan

the harsh Puritan community of seventeenth century Boston, Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet
Letter is a tale of a woman named Hester Prynne who is involved in an affair scandal. As a result she

Hester s scarlet letter is a piece of clothing, the SCARLET LETTER, so fantastically embroidered and
illuminated upon her bosom (Hawthorn 51). Her interpretation of the extremity of her sins is one of
self composure and calm. She views her sins solely as a violation in the natural order of the
environment and therefore cannot even perceive her sin as being evil except through outside influence.
Dimmesdale on the other hand, has a scarlet letter carved in his chest. This is revealed when
Dimmesdale was giving his revelation, in which he tore away the ministerial band from before his
breast. It was revealed! (Hawthorn 232). Dimmesdale s personal interpretation as to the extremity of
his own sins is a violation of God s law, which is the law that he is totally dedicated to and supported
by. Dimmesdale s interpretation of his sin is much more severe than Hester s, it is a violation and
direct contradiction of his own self consciousness and physical existence. Therefore the appearance of
his A, even though it is never directly described in the novel, must be powerful, broken, and brutally
dishonest (...a ghastly rapture; Hawthorne pg.95). Since the Scarlet Letter on Hester is visible to the
public, she was criticized and looked down on. This women has brought shame upon us all, and ought
to die (Hawthorn 49) is said by a female in the marketplace talking about Hester. She becomes a

The Native Americans And The Europeans
When the Europeans conquered the Native Americans; both groups had little understanding of each
other, especially their cultures. The Native Americans had a rich through history that allowed them to
be almost as developed as the Europeans. However, the Europeans overlooked this because the Native
Americans had not established the same man made medical and agricultural developments as the
Europeans. Conversely, the Native Americans thought that the Europeans were too concerned with
dead objects, and took their land for granted. There are many controversial debates over who was
worse: the Native Americans or the Europeans, yet, it s evident that warfare, ritual torture, and cruelty
were apparent in both societies. The Europeans had not known what the Native Americans had
achieved, and the struggles they d overcome. The history of the Native Americans began in Siberia.
Many scholars hypothesize that the first Americans came from Siberia and traveled into Alaska. The
colder climate of the Ice Age made an ice bridge across what is now the Bering Strait. Unfortunately,
the bridge started to melt without warning, causing the people in Alaska to become trapped. A group
of Native Americans known as today s Navajo and Apache came to the rescue when their construction
of boats advanced and allowed them to be durable enough to travel across the strait. These Athabascan
speaking people traveled from Canada and later reached the American southwest. The Paleo Indians

The Discourse Of Discourse Community
Discourse communities are a prevalent part of society, whether we realize it or not. The most
recognizable of these communities would be the discourse in different work fields. When student s are
going through their final years of schooling in college, most are taught only some of this discipline
specific jargon in their junior or senior years of schooling through their out of class experience in their
specific work field. The most easily identified would be the medical fields, journalism fields and the
business fields. I will be reviewing the different components that differ the Marketing discourse
community from other discourse communities such as; their way of communication through emails
and face to face meetings, the field specific jargon and the requirements it takes to be qualified as a
member of this marketing discourse community, such as the degree of maturity, knowledge and
experience. I will also explain why this field is important and give justifying examples such as the
definition of a marketing discourse community and the rate at which communication is expected. The
Marketing discourse community does qualify as one of the many business discourse communities,
however it has some differing aspects. In the Marketing discourse community I will be researching,
the promotional marketing services, the community mainly specializes in the field of providing
promotional services for a larger business that can provide specific goods or services to consumers.

Synoptical Essay On The Gospel Of John
John s Gospel, unlike the Synoptic Gospels focuses more on eye witness events of Jesus life. John s
passage about Jesus washing his disciples feet is one of the many passages where Jesus teaches his
disciples through demonstration what it truly means to be a disciple. Jesus knows that he is the son of
God, and despite that knowledge, he still gets down on his knees to wash his disciples feet. This
passage shows his profound love for all of his disciples. John s audience at this time was all of the
Christians living between 100 110 CE.
Although the Gospel of John is formally anonymous, with the help of internal and external evidence, a
better understanding of who wrote this text can be achieved. Modern scholars believe that this gospel

It also included two well known ceremonies, the Water Ceremony and Light Ceremony found in
chapters seven and eight, along with the sacrifices of lambs in the Temple during the Passover. In the

Gospel of John more events take place in Jerusalem and Judea. These customs and locations of events
suggest that the audience this Gospel was written for were people who believe in Judaism.4 Despite
these conclusions, some may argue that the Gospel of John was written more for Gentiles since this
Gospel portrays Jews in a more hostile lightning as seen when they reject Jesus.5 For many years,
people have tried to approximate which year the Gospel of John was finished. Many scholars believed
that it was written sometime between 140 170 CE, and many would also agree that John was the last
written of the four Gospels. It is very hard to set a date for this Gospel because of how the theological
nature has developed. However, most scholars believe now that it was

Gene Expression And Its Engineering
Introduction Transformation is the process of allowing a cell to be able to accept a gene into itself and
allow the gene to become part of the cell s whole, thus changing its form and expressing the gene s
function. This process was first discovered by the British bacteriologist Frederick Griffith, who was
able to transform Streptococcus pneumoniae into a different strain of Strep. in 1928 (1928). This
discovery was pivotal in the way we understand gene expression and its engineering. An example of
genetic engineering using transformation that applies to everyday life is the synthesizing of human
insulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar that runs through the
bloodstream. In the early 1900s, insulin from other animals was used to treat diabetes, but human
insulin is now able to be easily produced in bulk through genetic engineering, and has largely replaced
animal insulin for the treatment of diabetes. Insulin is made from cells in the pancreas, and the
extraction of insulin from animals used to require taking it directly from the animal s pancreas glands.
It was not until 1977 that synthetic human insulin was genetically engineered by Arthur Riggs and
Keiichi Itakura, and was achieved by the process of transformation using Escherichia coli as a host
(1977), which allowed for the easy reproduction of human insulin. Using this method, the production
of human insulin became large scale, faster, cheaper, and more accessible. A weakened

that everyone have a different level of focus, intelligent, and how pressured they feel when under a

Whaling Needs to Stop
While you could argue that practically everyone who has gone through the American education system
has at least heard of Moby Dick, the whaling industry, a main element of the topic, is not so well
known. Since the 12th century, hunting large mammals has been a very active sport. They would fish
foe whales, looking for the fat to make oil for lamps, candles, and soap.
Hunting whales was not on an industrial scale until the 1890 s, and continued until the International
Whaling Commission took effect in 1986. The article refers to the unsustainability of whaling
commercially. The number of whales in our oceans has been rapidly reducing in the years that humans
have had access to commercial whaling ships. Hunting an endangered species is highly unethical,
because we could, within a generation or two, see the fall of the largest beings alive today. The whales
in our oceans belong to the whole world and not just to Japan and Norway. Even with the restrictions
by the IWC, Japan still continues for Scientific Research . Scientific Research has recently been
deemed illegal in the Arctic water, but they have completely disregarded all sanctions put against them
to try and stop the unethical whaling. Not only that they were importing whale meat from Norway
because of its lower prices there, the whale ban was executed to make all whaling illegal which Japan
failed to recognise. 400 whales were killed a year and most of the meat ending up in fish markets and
restaurants. The

normal. This occurs due to a curved cornea or long eyeball. For example, a long eyeball will result in
light rays improperly focusing on the retina. However, heredity and vision stress also contribute to
myopia. There are certain lifestyle habits and environmental conditions which exacerbate myopia. For
example, reading in poor light or watching a TV or computer screen in a dark room. Diabetes can also
experience myopic like symptoms due to low blood sugar levels. Myopia can be conditionally
corrected through proper eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, wearing glasses for the rest of you
life can be inconvenient and uncomfortable. According to the AOA, Lasik surgery can cure
nearsightedness through reshaping the cornea by removing select inner layers of

Trauma And Secondary Trauma
Trauma is an experience copious amounts of people have encountered or will encounter within their
lifetime. As many think about various traumatic experiences, one may think solely of victims of the
trauma. As we think of the victims of traumatic experience, it is easy for the general public population
to overlook the professionals who respond to traumatic incidents such as natural disasters, accidents,
and intentional acts of harm or terror are not always brought to mind. According to the Wisconsin
EMS Association statistics provided on their website, during the year 2011, Emergency Medical
Services (EMS) reported to 598,416 emergency calls. Just in the state of Wisconsin, EMS workers as a
whole were exposed to thousands of potentially traumatizing incidences. Exploring the impacts of
trauma and different treatments for workers who are impacted through their job of saving lives and
responding to often devastating situations is essential to maintain a healthy mental health state. ...

(Insert teacher name)
William Wordsworth Research Paper In 1770 a historic icon was born. His name was William
Wordsworth. Wordsworth lived a long and successful life which included his primary occupation as a
poet. He did some things with poetry that have never been done before; such as introducing
romanticism poetry. His famous poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud helped him become the poet
laureate in 1843 which he held until his death (1850). When William Wordsworth starts to age and
mature, he will then start to change his views and ways compared to when he was a hound adolescent
young man.
Wordsworth struggled early in his life as his mother died when he was only seven years old and he
was an orphan till he was the age of thirteen. He went to Hawkshead a Grammar school where he
wrote his first poetry and did very well despite having all the struggles in his early life. He went on to
study at Cambridge University where he struggled during his time there, but he managed to graduate
in 1791. In 1790 he took a trip to France where he was a huge supporter of the republican ideas in the
midst of the French Revolution. Wordsworth loved France so much that he decided to make another
trip the following year. During his next trip he would meet Annette Vallon in which he got her
pregnant. The two slight a life together where they were deep in love with one another, but after a
declaration of war between England and

Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet
Throughout Shakespearean works, love at first sight is a commonly used theme seen in many plays.
Specifically, in the play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters seem to experience the moment of
love at first sight. The concept, however, poses an issue in the fact the characters quickly become
obsessed with the person they are in love with. The characters quickly becoming so infatuated leads to
the idea of love being based on surface level beauty and one s physical attraction to another rather
than a deeper, more meaningful connection. In William Shakespeare s tragedy Romeo and Juliet true
love is portrayed as an infatuation based on pure attraction seen in Romeo s obsession with Rosaline
even though he barely spoke with her, Paris wish to marry Juliet despite never actually spending time
with her, and Romeo and Juliet s haste in moving forward in their relationship without knowing
anything about one another. Early in the play, Romeo is obsessed with Rosaline, a Capulet, even
though he does not know anything about her. Romeo tells his cousin Benvolio about his ... Show more

Romeo and Juliet are so infatuated with each other they proceed to kiss before even knowing each
other s names. When they first speak at the Capulet s party and kiss, Romeo says to Juliet, Then move
not while my prayer s effect I take / [he kisses her] / thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purged
(1.5.117 118). Romeo says to Juliet from their kiss he is rid of any wrongdoing. They kiss and after
their encounter, Juliet asks the Nurse for Romeo s name. She commands, Go ask his name. (1.5.148).
The Nurse replies, His name is Romeo, and a Montague (1.5.50). The Nurse tells Juliet of Romeo s
name and his family after Juliet asks her to. Juliet finds out Romeo s name after the couple kiss. Just
by the physical attraction they had with each other, the young lovers kiss without knowing who the

Difference Between The Appellate Process And Trial Process
1. The appellate process and appeals differs from the trial process and trials in the following ways:
Trial court is the first court where case is tried. (pg. 353 359)
Appellate court is an appeals court and reviews the verdict of the trial court.
Evidence and witnesses are presented before trial court while appellate court reviews the decision
made by trial court and checks to see that there is a point of fact or point of law in the appeal.
In trail court, there is only one judge in the courtroom. In the appellate court, there are usually five
groups of three judges to decide the case.
Finding facts and evidence is the task of trial court while appellate court decides the case on already
collected evidences and witnesses.
Appellate court can accept, amend, or reject the decision of trial court. (pgs. 437 441)
2. There are three types of errors, the plain error, the harmless error, and the reversible error. The plain
error is the most serious and rarest, it is a substantial error that results in an unfair trial and jeopardizes
the integrity of the judicial system. A reversible error is an error that was found to have happened at
the trial level by the judge, the jury or an attorney, the decision of the court is negated and sent back to
the trial court for a new trial. A harmless error is an error that is not serious enough to change the
outcome of the trial and therefore the lower ruling stands. (pg. 444) 3. Mandatory appellate review is
for all cases that

The Mystery That Was Jay Gatsby
The Mystery that was Jay Gatsby
I carry on a little business on the side, a sort of sideline, you understand (Fitzgerald 87). In The Great
Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, this is the closest Jay Gatsby comes to revealing how he actually made
his fortune. And even here, he doesn t reveal much, but Nick Carraway assumes it s something illegal
when Gatsby goes on to say, It happens to be a rather confidential sort of thing (Fitzgerald 88). Gatsby
is a mysterious man. Because he is evasive and even untruthful about his life and wealth, everyone
around Gatsby makes up their own stories about him. Gatsby s background is so unfathomable, it is
speculated that he acquired his money by playing a part in illegal activities including fixing the 1919
World Series and Prohibition.
Jay Gatsby s is a rags to riches story that on the surface appears to be the fulfillment of the American
Dream. Born James Gatz, he comes from the Midwest, specifically North Dakota. His parents were
unsuccessful farmers. He was determined to be leave poverty behind. He first became the personal
assistant of Dan Cody, who he happened to meet on Lake Superior. Cody gave him his first taste of
wealth, and he liked it. They traveled around the world three times and stayed together for five years.
After Cody died, Gatsby went into the military. It was during that time that he met Daisy Buchanan, a
rich socialite. He fell in love with her, but because he was not wealthy, Daisy s family did not approve

An Intentional Tort Action Against A Grape Producer
This is an intentional tort action against a grape producer involving a breach contract between my
health food products business and a grape producer and distributor. In the words of the Honorable
Allen M. Linden Tort laws have a noble mission and opportunity to help people in trouble. The injured
and the bereaved desperately require tort lawyers to help them retake whatever is left of their lives that
can be retaken with money (Linden, 2005). I seek restitution for compensatory damages for loss of
revenue, pain and suffering due to the broken contract. As well as, to make my company whole again
and place it back in the financial position it was before the breach occurred. This intentional tort has
caused harm to the economic interests of my company (Kubasek, Brennan, Browne, 2015). The
family produce company started selling my health foods products business Muscadine grapes and
sales grew at a rapid rate. I have become dependent on the distributor to deliver the product and the
price and rate that he has in the past. However, upon being faced with an opportunity to do business
with more profitable customer, he decides that he no longer can provide produce with my company,
leaving me out to find another distributor, potentially more expensive.
Good Faith and Fair Dealing
As the owner of a fast growing health food products business, I have developed a resilient relationship
with one of my distributors, a produce company which provides Muscadine grapes to my company.

In 1992 Sam Walton said the company s mission which was to save people money so they can live better. In 1993 walmart celebrated its first one billion sales for a week. In 2000 customers were allowed to shop online. By 2002 wal mart had passed the 500 largest American companies. Walmart has spread to 27 different countries outside the United States. Now Walmart is the nation s largest business in the world. It employs 1.4 million people with 5,239 locations within the United States locations. Walmart has had questionable ethical business practises in there stores. Low wages at Walmart locations have been a problem. A report from the National Employment Law Project states that the low prices at Walmart provided to the customers have a hidden cost to the workers. For Walmart to have it s low prices and to still have a profit they have to pay low wages to the workers. Its low wages have a negative effect to all the 2.2 million workers walmart has. This makes it harder for the workers to buy food, housing and other bills like the water and the light. • 5. The Embodiment Of Tradition In Kate Chopin s The Awakening Brian Sandoval 10/27/17 Mr. Amoroso AP Literature Pd. 3 Awakening LAP Topic 4 Life has an abundance of crossroads that we must pass in order to reach the zenith of our long and arduous journey to self realization. One in particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to soar high in the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. Many do not dare leave the comforts of the grass, haunted by the swift and deathly fall that is sure to follow and therefore mark anyone foolhardy to try as idiotic for even thinking of accomplishing the impossible. Yet who is the fool; the person brave enough to soar, willing to risk the unrecoverable drop down or the person who has already resigned to their position in the plains, content with this fate? Edna Pontellier, the main protagonist of Kate Chopin s The Awakening, is conflicted by this choice after she has plucked the already fragmenting mask society has made her wear and shattered it. Now aware of the façade and free of ignorance, Edna seeks guidance from her close confidants in order steer herself in the right direction. Through the conversation had with Adele Ratignolle, the embodiment of tradition, and Mademoiselle Reisz, the embodiment of eccentricity, Edna finds the answer to her own confliction. Adele Ratignolle is the perfect representation of the traditional woman of the 1890 s, a woman devoted to her children and husband, the type of woman that Edna is expected to be by ... Secondhand Lions Film Analysis The director s use of film techniques showed significant changes through the characters in the film Secondhand Lions .The big, significant events that changed the characters are when Hub said to Walter that he will stay around to say his man speech , when Walter found out his mother was lying and when Walter jumps out of the car. This was done through camera angles, storyline, music and much more. The first important event that started shaping Walter is when he finds out that his mother lied to him. Mae said I m going to be working my tail off learning court reporting ; instead she dumps him off at his two uncles house and goes to Las Vegas. Walter finds this out by a phone call to The Fort Worth College of Court Reporting. They say that his mother never enrolled. At the moment, the director uses camera angles and music to display to the audience how Walter feels. One Of The Major The North American Free Trade Agreement One of the major keys to having two or more parties successfully trade and invest with each other is the ability to make agreements peacefully and come to similar terms. Many times, people would like to trade goods and services, but cannot agree on the terms each other have made. This can obviously cause many problems with trading and is the reason many deals do not go through, which can impact not only the people involved, but many more people very negatively. Some of these include tariff elimination for qualifying products, Elimination of nontariff barriers by the year 2008, tariff reduction for motor vehicles and auto parts, expanded telecommunications trade, reduced textile and clothing barriers, more free trade in agriculture, Mexican import licenses should be gotten rid of, expanded trade in financial services, opening of insurance markets, increased investment opportunities, liberalized regulation of land transportation, and many more according to inc.com/encyclopedia. All these components help make trading between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico simpler and more efficient. The Trade Agreement has provided North America with many benefits. One of them is NAFTA quadrupled trade. According to Kimberly Amadeo, from 1993 2015, trade between the three members quadrupled, from $297 billion to $1.14 trillion. That boosted economic growth, profits, and jobs for all three countries. It also lowered prices for consumers. The trade pushed this all to happen because it eliminated the tariffs and made it easier for the North American countries to come together and trade. They both are just in different times and with different people. The Glorious Revolution, also known as the 1688 Revolution, basically put an end to King James II and it started to put a start to religious freedom. King James was a Catholic. He wanted everyone to worship that religion. In 1687 James created a declaration of indulgence. It suspended the penal laws against dissenters and recusants against his religion. That was when some anarchist did the Boston Tea Party in 1773. They took out all the tea and dumped it into the ocean. During those times there was a lot of bloodshed. Patriots or the anarchist were rioting against the redcoats, also known as Britain. • 12. Matthew 1 And Luke 3 Controversy There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding the differences in the accounts of the birth and up through the early years of Jesus life in the gospels of Matthew and Luke. Of course, one of the greatest points of controversy is the difference in the genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3. It is vitally important to remember that the two accounts are written to two different people groups and focuses on two different faces or distinctions of the life of Jesus. Matthew is written to the Jews with a focus on Jesus as King of the Jews, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Luke is written to the Gentiles with a focus on Jesus as the Son of Man, or the Prophet emphasizing his humanity. Matthew traces the lineage through the line of kings back to David ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, Luke tells us of an angel appearing and bringing this wonderful news to shepherds in the fields keeping their sheep. These shepherds then come and find the babe as foretold, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. It is evident from this account that Jesus is likely less than 24 hours old at this time. The shepherds then spread the wonderful news. Jesus was circumcised the 8th day there in Bethlehem. After Mary s purification, they went to Jerusalem to present Jesus to the Lord and offer the sacrifices required for the male that opens the womb, according to Jewish law. Then we have no further details about Jesus childhood from Luke until at age twelve Jesus and his family go to Jerusalem for the annual feast of the Passover. In reference to the confusion between the two accounts, the first thing we must notice is the timeline difference. Luke was days leading up to and days after Christ s birth up to around 40 days after. In Matthew, however, we find in chapter 2 it begins the account of the wise men from the east coming to Jerusalem. Instead of an angel appearing to them, they reveal they saw a star appear in the east. This star appeared at Christ s birth prompting the wise men to travel to Jerusalem in search of this ... • 13. Zoos Should Be Banned Imagine walking through the zoo as a child, thinking how awesome it is to see all of those big interesting animals you would never get to encounter in the wild. Now think of walking through the zoo when you are older seeing these same animals in a very different light. Instead of seeing animals happily living their lives you see animals wandering aimlessly around their small enclosures looking bored to tears and depressed. Is it fair that we keep these animals cooped up specifically for our own entertainment? What right do we have to capture, contain, and breed these precious animals as we please? Why should we get to control their lives when they could obviously be living a better life elsewhere? Often these questions are meet with responses of conservation and education, but in reality those defenses have little backing. No animal should be forced to live in captivity for its whole life, which is why zoos should be banned since they are truly unjust to the animals living in them. The first and most obvious sign of being treated unjustly is the size of the animals enclosures. Sure the enclosures may seem large at a glance, but they are definitely not measuring up to the miles and miles of freedom that the animal would have in the wild. Especially for traveling animals such as elephants this creates a large problem. These animals are known to travel approximately thirty miles per day in the wild, and have no chance of doing that in the spaces they are confined to in zoos ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Road Is Not A Risk Free Environment Our motor industry is persistently evolving, and it is contributing towards an increasing 0number of people being able to afford personal vehicles. We may purchase a car as a mode of daily transport, or for fun, but by riding a sports bike, we are putting our lives at a much greater risk. Presently there is an absence of certain regulations for motorcyclists, which is a serious and valid safety concern. Chances of injuries and fatalities become extremely high when we get into a collision on a 2 wheeled vehicle; there is nothing besides safety gear to save you from harm when you are jerked out of your seat right into the face of danger. It is and should be your choice to ride a motorcycle, and that mostly all of us can agree on. The problem, however, exists when people are making that choice without having the right knowledge, mindset, utilizing the correct gear, or having proper training. While it is true that the road is not a risk free environment regardless of the mode of transport, and that we as individuals cannot control the actions of our fellow driver s, we can at least, with our experience, keep ourselves measurably safer in a car. It is clearly a game of life and death when a small nudge from any other vehicle can easily kill you as a result, and yet many chose to chance these odds for the thrill. The estimated ratio for deaths in a car per mile, opposed to a motorcycle in 2014, was 1:27! And, for an inexperienced motorist, these accidents are far less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Causes Of The Watergate Scandal Considering the post war era of American society and the intense political conflicts, the Watergate scandal increased problems in society. The Watergate scandal was a result of many events beginning in the late 1950 s to 1960 s such as Vietnam, Nixon s campaign, and the Pentagon papers. In the late 1960 s Richard Nixon won the presidency over Hubert Humphrey in what is called the closest election in American history. This election was the beginning to what would become the Watergate scandal in 1970 s. Some of Nixon s policies for the government involved expansion of federal agencies, which gave him easy access to classified documents or files. One major event that triggered the infamous scandal was in 1971 when the Pentagon Papers were released by the New York Times; A few months later, the Plumbers unit broke into an office in attempt to discover files on who released them, Daniel Ellsberg. These Plumbers broke into the Democratic National Committee in attempt to find information about Nixon s opponent. Many public officials were involved in the cover up and break in itself which led to widespread corruption in the government. Some of those involved in these events were James McCord, a former CIA agent; Richard Nixon, the president; Sam Ervin, the man who first began to investigate the crimes; John Dean; John Ehrlichman and Gordon Liddy. Our oldest description that defines the symptoms of epileptic seizures was written two thousand years ago BC (Magiorkinis E1, 2010). However, medication therapy has been proven to be successful for almost three quarters of patients with generalized seizures. Unfortunately only fifty percent of epileptics with partial seizures are able to control seizure activity with medication. In the developing world nearly eighty percent of cases are inappropriately or not treated at all (centre, 2015). Depending on the age of the patient, the patient is nearly two to four times more at risk for early death during a seizure episode. The primary treatment for epilepsy is phenobarbital which is the least expensive anticonvulsant used to control generalized and partial seizures. Unfortunately due to its abuse potential it is often a controlled substance in countries and therefore not recommended as a first line of treatment. The lack of the ability to treat the majority of cases has led to severe social stigmas of epileptics and in many cases denial of the privileges such as being able to marry or drive a vehicle. Even with proper treatment nearly three out of ten epileptics continue to have seizures despite anticonvulsant therapy. A further estimated twenty percent can control their seizure activity if a second or third anticonvulsant is added to their regimen. Other than anticonvulsant medications minimizing or eliminating seizure triggers is the priority of therapy. The behavior of the students consciousness towards littering in the campus is not really getting out of hand. Not all students have the don t care attitude as the result is stating. Students falls into two different categories. There are students who have the heart to keep their study environment clean and there are those who do not. Those that practice littering have a fair idea that it is wrong. But yet they tend do it without thinking. The next paragraph will describe further on such behavior of the students . According to the result everybody is trying to say that they do not want littering. For the positive statements they are responding positively and for the negative statement they are responding negatively. Students may not want to discard rubbishes like piece of paper or an empty packet of something anywhere, but apparently they do. This may happen due to laziness, maybe because ofdistance between them and the rubbish bin. They do not want to walk because it might take some of their time (time factor). This clearly shows that students have attitude problem even though they are educated. Knowing that littering is wrong and yet doing it can explain that there is an attitude problem. Cialdini and others (1981:255) strongly agree that littering is a measure of attitude . Littering especially occurs when someone (who cares) is not watchingor witnessing ... Marriage is precious, formal and sacred. In the play, Twelfth Night, three marriages are depicted. One of the marriages has happened because of a mistake and the other given as a reward. Which means that one marriage will be more long lasting than the other. In my opinion, Viola and Orsino s marriage is going to be the most successful because of their love and commitment to each other, the length of time they have known each other and finally the trust between them. Firstly, love and commitment is one of the many factors that contribute to a successful marriage. Love and commitment allow couples to act with integrity, respect and care for each other. The readers can clearly see the commitment Viola has for Duke Orsino when she says, After him I love/More than I love these eyes, more than my life,/More, by all mores, than e er I shall love wife (V. i. 130 132). • 35. Gene Expression And Its Engineering Introduction Transformation is the process of allowing a cell to be able to accept a gene into itself and allow the gene to become part of the cell s whole, thus changing its form and expressing the gene s function. This process was first discovered by the British bacteriologist Frederick Griffith, who was able to transform Streptococcus pneumoniae into a different strain of Strep. in 1928 (1928). This discovery was pivotal in the way we understand gene expression and its engineering. An example of genetic engineering using transformation that applies to everyday life is the synthesizing of human insulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar that runs through the bloodstream. In the early 1900s, insulin from other animals was used to treat diabetes, but human insulin is now able to be easily produced in bulk through genetic engineering, and has largely replaced animal insulin for the treatment of diabetes. Insulin is made from cells in the pancreas, and the extraction of insulin from animals used to require taking it directly from the animal s pancreas glands. It was not until 1977 that synthetic human insulin was genetically engineered by Arthur Riggs and Keiichi Itakura, and was achieved by the process of transformation using Escherichia coli as a host (1977), which allowed for the easy reproduction of human insulin. Using this method, the production of human insulin became large scale, faster, cheaper, and more accessible. A weakened ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the 12th century, hunting large mammals has been a very active sport. They would fish foe whales, looking for the fat to make oil for lamps, candles, and soap. Hunting whales was not on an industrial scale until the 1890 s, and continued until the International Whaling Commission took effect in 1986. The article refers to the unsustainability of whaling commercially. The number of whales in our oceans has been rapidly reducing in the years that humans have had access to commercial whaling ships. Hunting an endangered species is highly unethical, because we could, within a generation or two, see the fall of the largest beings alive today. Scientific Research has recently been deemed illegal in the Arctic water, but they have completely disregarded all sanctions put against them to try and stop the unethical whaling. Not only that they were importing whale meat from Norway because of its lower prices there, the whale ban was executed to make all whaling illegal which Japan failed to recognise. 400 whales were killed a year and most of the meat ending up in fish markets and restaurants. • 43. Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet Throughout Shakespearean works, love at first sight is a commonly used theme seen in many plays. Specifically, in the play Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters seem to experience the moment of love at first sight. The concept, however, poses an issue in the fact the characters quickly become obsessed with the person they are in love with. The characters quickly becoming so infatuated leads to the idea of love being based on surface level beauty and one s physical attraction to another rather than a deeper, more meaningful connection. In William Shakespeare s tragedy Romeo and Juliet true love is portrayed as an infatuation based on pure attraction seen in Romeo s obsession with Rosaline even though he barely spoke with her, Paris wish to marry Juliet despite never actually spending time with her, and Romeo and Juliet s haste in moving forward in their relationship without knowing anything about one another. Early in the play, Romeo is obsessed with Rosaline, a Capulet, even though he does not know anything about her. Romeo tells his cousin Benvolio about his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 44. Difference Between The Appellate Process And Trial Process 1. The appellate process and appeals differs from the trial process and trials in the following ways: Trial court is the first court where case is tried. (pg. 353 359) Appellate court is an appeals court and reviews the verdict of the trial court. Evidence and witnesses are presented before trial court while appellate court reviews the decision made by trial court and checks to see that there is a point of fact or point of law in the appeal. In trail court, there is only one judge in the courtroom. In the appellate court, there are usually five groups of three judges to decide the case. Finding facts and evidence is the task of trial court while appellate court decides the case on already collected evidences and witnesses. Appellate court can accept, amend, or reject the decision of trial court. (pgs. 437 441) 2. There are three types of errors, the plain error, the harmless error, and the reversible error. The plain error is the most serious and rarest, it is a substantial error that results in an unfair trial and jeopardizes the integrity of the judicial system. A reversible error is an error that was found to have happened at the trial level by the judge, the jury or an attorney, the decision of the court is negated and sent back to the trial court for a new trial. A harmless error is an error that is not serious enough to change the outcome of the trial and therefore the lower ruling stands. (pg. 444) 3. Mandatory appellate review is for all cases that ... In the words of the Honorable Allen M. Linden Tort laws have a noble mission and opportunity to help people in trouble. The injured and the bereaved desperately require tort lawyers to help them retake whatever is left of their lives that can be retaken with money (Linden, 2005). I seek restitution for compensatory damages for loss of revenue, pain and suffering due to the broken contract. As well as, to make my company whole again and place it back in the financial position it was before the breach occurred. This intentional tort has caused harm to the economic interests of my company (Kubasek, Brennan, Browne, 2015).
