Do Violent Video Games Have An Impact On A Person s...
Introduction People play video games mainly for entertainment. It s just like a hobby such as bike
riding, fishing, and swimming or playing sports. Video games are also a form of art through which
you can experience a story interactively and can also challenge you mentally through using problem
solving skills to work through difficult scenarios. Some video games are even designed to be a
fictional representation of life, allowing the player to experience or do things they would never be able
to do in real life. In a society where we are responsible for our own actions, individuals may wonder
whether these video games can have an influence on our actions. One of the main reasons that attract
people to certain games is the inclusion of violence. People become immersed in a world where they
are able to take risks and be able to break laws without suffering and harmful consequences that
reality or real life would serve. This report is about Do violent video games have an impact on a
person s behaviour? , Based on the information I collected, the following guiding questions will help
in concluding an answer to my research topic. The questions that mostly relate to my topic are the age
of people who play games, what do violent video games contain, gaming addiction and effects on
behaviour. Methodology I started off investigating my research by using the Internet and used my
mind map. My mind map help me developed my research questions that I used on to Google to search

Innovative Marketing Practices of Selected Business Firms in the Indian Rural Market
MR. SUNIL V. CHAUDHARY
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
SGME COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT (SEMCOM)

KEY WORDS: Rural Marketing, Innovative Marketing Practices.
Abstract
The Indian rural market is much larger when compared to the urban market in terms of population and
number of households, and also by way of geographic dispersal. The rural market is the new driving
force of the Indian Consumption Story . With only 31.16% of the Indian population living in urban
areas and 68.84% residing in the villages (Census 2011), it is only a matter of time before rural India
takes its rightful place in the Indian growth story.
Introduction
There is growing realization among marketers about the enormous untapped potential of India s rural
markets. The Indian rural market with its vast size and demand base offers great opportunities to
companies. In India, there are 6,42000 villages . While agriculture used to be the major source of
income in rural areas, over the past 10 12 years, the dominance of agriculture has been rapidly
declining. The contribution of agriculture to India s GDP was less than 20% in 2008 09. There is a
sizeable population of self employed persons in the hinterland and quite a few of them are into
services such as repair and maintenance of motors and pump sets, televisions and other electrical

Rhetorical Analysis Of Pope Francis
I will be analyzing the speech of Pope Francis to a Joint Session of Congress from September of 2015
in Washington, D.C. for my final rhetorical analysis. This speech is important because it addresses
societal issues in the United States and the whole world such as poverty, religion, war, the
environment, immigration, and gun laws. The pope not only addresses the issues, but also
acknowledges many of the marvelous features of America. In this paper, I will provide a summary of
research I found on the context of the speech, the speaker, the audience, and the effects the speech had
on society. Pope Francis is the present day spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, also known as the
bishop of Rome or pontiff. He is the very first pope from Latin American, Argentina specifically, and
is now known as the first pope ever that has addressed Congress. According to the guardian.com, Pope
Francis, electrified Congress with a call for action on climate change, immigration, poverty and capital
punishment, laying down a challenge for the United States to transcend division and rediscover its
ideals (Carroll 1). He addressed these issues and drew a great interest from the audience for fifty one
minutes in the chamber of the House of Representatives. The audience of the speech consisted of a
large number of lawmakers, aides, and invited guests. The New York Times, referenced some of the
people that attended: Sitting behind Francis were Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and House
Speaker John A. Boehner, both Catholics. Flanking the aisle at the front were Secretary of State John
Kerry and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., and not far behind them was Nancy Pelosi, the House
Democratic leader, all Catholics (Baker, Yardley 17). Others in the audience included three other
Supreme Court associate justices, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Justice
Sonia Sotomayor, other cabinet members, senators, House members, presidential candidates, a few
four star generals, priests, nuns, and bishops. According to the New York Times, the lawmakers
interrupted Pope Francis about thirty times applauding him, causing the speech to run fifty one
minutes when originally scheduled for thirty. *****add

Ancient India Study Guide
4.1 Monarchy
Chapter 1 talks about the various forms of government that used to exist in ancient India.it talks about
how Government in ancient India was a sovereignty over a region by a ruler who worked as its
defender, a role which included both secular and religious force with The importance of authority
changing drastically between the Vedic and Later Vedic period, and experiencing further improvement
affected by Buddhism. Over time, the ruler developed from what might as well be called a tribal boss
to a completely divine god lord on whose sacrifices the kingdom depended for success and on whose
laws the society depended for order The king was not considered divine in the early Vedic period.

his power was not personal and it was besides hedged in by safeguards against abuse and
encroachment and limited by the liberties and powers of other public authorities and interests who
were, so to speak, lesser co partners with him in the exercise of sovereignty and administrative
legislation and control. He was in fact a limited or constitutional monarch, although the machinery by
which the constitution was maintained and the limitation effected differed from the kind familiar in
European history; and even the continuance of his rule was far more dependent than that of mediaeval
European kings on the continued will and assent of the people.
However the form of monarchy that we see as existing today is completely different from what used to
exist way back in ancient India .Monarchy is a form of government in which sovereignty is actually or
nominally embodied in a single individual (the monarch. Forms of monarchy differs widely based on

Pros And Cons Of Alternative Energy For Fossil Fuels
Can Alternative Energy Effectively Replace Fossil Fuels ?
There are some that say that the US is ready to start replacing fossil fuels with alternative energy
resources and some don t exactly agree. Alternative energy sources include biofuels, hydrogen, solar,
geothermal, wind and nuclear energy and fossils fuels are fuels such as oil, coal, and petroleum. Those
for alternative energy argue that fossil fuels are inefficient, unsustainable, environmentally destructive,
and the primary contributor to global climate change. They believe that renewable energies are a
viable and immediately needed alternative to fossil fuels. Then those for fossil fuels believe that there
are many technical hurdles that have to be overcome before alternative energy could replace even a
small portion of the power powered by fossil fuels. They also say that fossil fuels will last hundreds of
years longer, be made more efficient, and remain the most economical ... Show more content on

If the information was presented in a less objective way I think that there would be less controversies.
As I was reading portions of the articles, I found it unprofessionally to display opinions rather than
facts from scientific studies. Also since the world basically runs their economies based off of the price
of oil, its hard to speculate if it is feasible to go without fossil fuels.
If I were to write an article presenting the pros and cons on weather alternative energy could
effectively replace fossil fuels, I would gather information from trusted scientific sources and analyses
how using alternative energy would effect the world as a whole. Although I agree public opinion is
important when researching certain topics, it can sometimes be misleading. However in this
circumstance, I found that there was not enough information on how much of an impact fossil fuels

The Tortilla Curtain Racist
In the exposition of the T.C Boyle s novel The Tortilla Curtain we are introduced to the characters, one
of the protagonist characters Delaney Mossbacher. Whom is introduced as a liberal humanist but as
the novel progresses he becomes a reactionary racist. This all occurred when Cándido and Delaney
first encountered, which in the events to follow their decisions and actions are impacted by each other
s personal worlds. However mainly focusing on Delaney psychological behavior, he evolved to be a
racist towards Mexicans. They are main influences in Delaney s personal life which gives us an
insight on why he gradually evolved to be a racist as the novel progressed. Closely looking at the very

why such a person would have that first thought. Next he admitted to himself, he s ashamed of not

for money which Delany complied by giving him twenty dollars. Now regarding the fact Cándido is

cared for the person more if he ran into a white person? He might have. Following the accident, when
he took his car to the mechanic, he lied saying it was an animal who dented the car. Right after that, he
said he s glad of leaving Cándido behind. Subconsciously Delaney is experiencing racist tendencies,
by disregarding another being because of their race, and not liking them. Looking about his thoughts
on illegal campers polluting the rivers and trials, that infuriates him but narrowing a group of people

Essay On Breaking Through The Great Firewall
Breaking Through the Great Firewall of China
Within the United States, the first amendment, freedom of speech includes the cyber web. However,
the government may try to examine personal information to protect its citizens from planned
terroristic activities. Even so, these terrorists are allowed to say whatever they want, but it does not
mean it will be ignored and not taken as a literal threat by the government. Throughout other parts the
world, however, countries rely on communicating through means of the internet as ways to spread
propaganda. In countries like China specifically, their government censors its citizens to prevent the

This proves that China, at all costs, censors its citizens from accessing history the government deems
potentially causing further protest.
Now, many Chinese citizens are attempting to access these applications and searches without
censorship by connect[ing] to virtual private networks that provide them with communications
channels to servers outside the Chinese mainland (Bradsher 4). Though, many citizens have found
loopholes in order to post their messages to these websites. For example, on Weibo (the Chinese
version of twitter), if a user were to post using a specific keyword, the post would automatically be
deleted, if not manually by a superior on the site if it slipped through the system. However, because
the use of abbreviations, neologisms, homophones, and homographs by users, many political satirists,
revolutionists, or regular citizens find themselves sliding through the cracks thus escaping the
censoring governments reach (Wang and Mark 5). In addition, because the government also changes
from time to time, a man named Yu Jia, a government critic stated that Today s China is very different
from Chairman Mao s China. I think then, it used to be like an iron slab, and there was only really one
idea. It was completely impermeable. But now, it s more like a fishnet, and there are holes (Jia, Han
and Fu 4). This further proves the argument that legislation in regard to behavior online is too varied

the subsequent development of world history have been different? Is there value in asking this kind of

How does this chapter distinguish among the various kinds of societies that comprised the world of

Several changes would undoubtedly have surprised a knowledgeable observer, including the
emergence of Islam;
the revival of China and Western Europe;
the collapse of the Byzantine Empire;
the emergence of Russia and the spread of Christianity into that region;
the emergence of states in Southeast Asia;
the emergence of Japan;
the emergence of powerful empires in West Africa.
However, some features would still be recognizable, such as the persistence of Paleolithic, agricultural
village, and herding societies;
the continuance, albeit at a more intense rate, of long distance commerce and exchange;
the persistence of broad cultural traditions, especially in the Mesoamerican, Andean, Chinese,
European, and Indian civilizations.
4.
A global traveler of the fifteenth century might have predicted that Islam, Buddhism, and perhaps
Christianity would continue to spread;
that the established cultural regions of China, India, the Islamic world, Christian Europe, the Andes,
and Mesoamerica would continue to develop and expand;
that long distance commerce and exchange would continue to have an important impact on the
development of civilizations;
that empires would continue to have a growing influence on world history;
that the regions occupied by Paleolithic, agricultural village, and herding societies would continue to
shrink.

Amy Winehouse Tragic Hero
In the land of fame, it is almost expected of you and your career to come to an abrupt end with much
drama. Sadly, Amy Winehouse was no exception. As the outstanding musician she was, she was
destined to face tragedy. As a woman who possessed traits that included pleasing others, helping
others, facing enemies and allies, and then facing a tragedy, she now can, sadly, be considered as a
modern tragic hero. A tragic hero is described exactly how it sounds, a person who has done
something great like a hero, but also something tragic. A tragic hero may retain traits such as a know it

arrogance. In today s world, a modern tragic hero s tragedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Winehouse was a gorgeous and very talented musician of the early 2000s. She grew up in a normal
household with a cab driver father and a pharmacist mother. The fame started when a friend submitted
her tape to a record company. Amy was always a bit troubled, for example, she was expelled from her
school, Sylvia Young Theatre School, for not applying herself and for piercing her nose at the age of
sixteen. She had always been exposed to jazz music, from her family being involved in the industry as
well. She started liking rap on her own in her childhood years; therefore her music is a mix of the two.

The Causes Of The Stock Market Crash Of 2008
In Frontline s The Meltdown, the causes of the stock market crash of 2008 came into discussion. The
topics regarding Bear Stearns, the Lehman Brothers and their collapse, and the huge bailout made in
results to the market crash. There were great points being made on the mistakes Henry Paulson and
Ben Bernanke did not view from their perspective, which in turns were the problems that made up the
crash.
It was not until 2007 when foreclosures occurred more and became prominent, especially since the
last market crash during the Great Depression. As Gretchen Morgenson of the New York Times
discusses, Bear Stearns was known for his great plays with mortgages on Wall Street. People who
believed Stearns would pull the right decisions became scared as the values of their assets were
decreasing. This created a necessitated attitude towards money since their was money being borrowed
fighting against the collaterals, in turns the assets. When the assets started to decline, you need to start
paying back money to those you have borrowed from. Roughly $1.6 billion was discarded in Stearns
decisions, which was the start to the stress he would obtain from the crash. This enabled the world to
see how weak the market was, especially those who had a role within the market. When banks also
saw the weakness mortgage companies had developed, they decided to raise the cost of borrowing
money from them, creating doubts if these mortgage firms, such as Stearns, would be able to solve

Trauma In Adolescence
When examining at a broad scope, traumatic events are often linked to PTSD (Cepeda, Saint Onge,
Kaplan Valdez, 2010), but this is generally examined at the adult level. Hurricane Katrina took its
psychological toll on adolescents as well. Just as adults turn to substance use in stressful situations,
adolescents follow this same pattern (Beaudoin, 2011). Adolescents are particularly vulnerable in the
wake of a disaster (Wagner, Brief, Vielhauer, Sussman, Keane Malow, 2009). The exposures of this
disaster on adolescents lead to the development of destructive health behaviors. After disaster

Examples Of Situational Irony In The Ransom Of The Red Chief
In O. Henry s story, The Ransom of the Red Chief, eight distinct examples of irony are present
throughout the entire selection. O. Henry writes with both situational and verbal irony, which results
in a comedic account of a rowdy boy s kidnapping. Situational irony involves an event in which
actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended. Verbal irony is when the intended
meaning of a statement differs from the meaning that the words appear to express. There are three
examples of verbal irony and five examples of situational irony in The Ransom of the Red Chief. The
first example of verbal irony is in the beginning of the story. There was a town down there, as flat as a

which would have the reader think the town was high. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Symbolism Of The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne
If it is important, it is remembered. If it has any value, it will last far into the future, if not forever.
This is why Michelangelo s David, the Mona Lisa, the automobile, The Beatles, and Pride and
Prejudice are all remembered. If it is the first to make an impact, it becomes important. That is when it
will affect people in future generations. For example, the Model T is not produced anymore, but is the
grandfather of almost every car made today, affecting jobs, businesses, people, and the world. The
Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is taught today because it was one of the first important
American written novels that contained obvious symbolism. Since symbolism is used in everything of
literary merit, it is important to see where it started. In the same way, The Adventures of Sherlock
Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has lasted through the years and still be prevalent today. This is
achieved in the original books and continuing in spin offs and adaptations.
Sherlock Holmes holds the Guinness World Record for literary character most frequently portrayed on
screen. Over one hundred actors have played Holmes on screen. There are over two hundred and fifty
movies, hundreds of episodes, and even plays based around Doyle s writings with the first known
Sherlock Holmes movie debuting in 1905. The first American Sherlock Holmes actor was William
Gillette, who played him on stage in 1899 and on film in 1916 (Dawidziak, n. p.). The many

How to Determine a Cat s Age
According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are approximately
82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a loving pet, but expect
to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are several factors that are used
to establish a cat s age and life expectancy.
On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a
male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat has a
life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4 years. A
feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for food,
shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or vice
versa.
A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed
or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths
caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases.
Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life.
Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early
detection of health conditions.
At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been
proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses slower
in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By the age of
two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages approximately four
human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years

The Effects Of Social Anxiety On Higher Education
To begin we take a look at two studies that were done on college students and the effects of social
anxiety in higher education, researchers were able to conclude that social anxiety does have an impact
on the wellbeing and success of students in each study. In our first study, students from Sydney,
Australia, were accessed using many psychological tests, scales, and inventories to obtain scores for
accurate study. The topic of the study is Impairments in Goal directed actions that predict treatment
response to cognitive behavioral therapy in social anxiety. The participants who were involved gave
written consent to be a part of this study, and those who were on medications were properly stabilized
before participation began. This study involved showing participants fractal images of food as a
reward to measure goal directed actions in predicting treatment response to cognitive behavioral
therapy (Alvares, G. A., Balleine, B. W., Guastella, A. J. (2014). Anxiety has been argued to be related
to an inability to process rewarding information appropriately to guide actions (Alvares, et. al, 2014)
and changes in outcome values (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The results found that those who had a social
anxiety disorder showed higher impairments in goal directed action that predicted poorer response to
treatment (Alvares, et.al, 2014). The participants were given a test of how much a reward affected the
outcome of goal directed actions. Those who kept responding even after

The Pros And Cons Of Restraint
Restraints limit a patient s movement. This brings up many ethical debates and issues. There are
certain guidelines that should be followed when it comes to using restraints. It is important to know
the different kinds of restraints, how to apply a physical restraint properly and how to administer a
chemical restraint safely. It is important to consider alternatives as the use of restraints can present risk
and negative outcomes.
History of Restraints Restraints were incorporated into health care many decades ago. In the late
1970s, more than 25% of U.S residents in long term care facilities were restrained compared to a
current average of 5% (Taylor, Lillis, Lynn, 2015, p. 707). Since 1987, the federal government and
accrediting agencies have worked to reduce or eliminate the use of restraints (Taylor et al. 2015, p.
708). Also according to Taylor, Lillis, and Lynn (2015) a Safety Alert from the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) in 1995 informed nurses and other members of the health care team the risks of
using side rails, especially when all four side rails are up.
Different Types of Restraints There are three categories of restraints. The three categories are physical,
chemical, and seclusion. According to Springer (2015), a physical restraint is a device that keeps the
patient from moving freely or from the patient harming themselves or other people nearby. Chemical
restraints are drugs that are administered that do the same thing a physical restraint does.

The Effect Of Daylight And Control On Artificial Light And...
ABSTRACT: Availability of daylight in a building not only improves the well being of an individual
but also plays an important role in reducing our dependence on artificial light and the operational cost
of a building. Daylight if not controlled could cause the major problem of solar heat gain in a building
and thus causing an increase in the air conditioning cost of the building especially in warm climates.
Offices being one of the building categories that need to be well lit regardless of their size and
location, it is important to optimize the daylight and control the heat gain in an office building. This
paper discusses the different daylight strategies to achieve this.
1. INTRODUCTION A room is not a room without natural light. Louis I Khan
Buildings in the residential, commercial and public sectors are responsible for 20 40% of the total
energy consumption in the world [Pérez Lombard, L. Ortiz, J. and Pout, C., (2008)]. Around 70% of
this consumption is spent on artificial light and air conditioning systems [Energy Information
Administration, (2008)]. Especially in office buildings as shown in Fig.1.1 [Guide to Best Practice
Maintenance Operation of HVAC Systems for Energy Efficiency (January 2012)] that the energy
consumption due to HVAC is 39% and lighting is 25%. In countries having warm climates like India

The player then selects another card and turns it over. If the two cards are a matching pair then the
individual takes the two cards and starts a stack. If the player makes a match he/she goes anew. The
next player chooses a card. If it is a match for one of the cards that was previously flipped over, then
the player tries to remember where the matching card is and turns it over. If the individual is

In the book, the Giver and Jonas have a conversation about sharing the memories amongst everyone.
Jonas suggests that if they share the memories with everyone, than he would not have to bear so much
by himself (Lowry 142). The way that this society controls memories is by only introducing one
person to them. If these memories were not held by one person then everyone will have to be
burdened by the pain and torture: They don t want that. And that s the real reason The Receiver is so
vital to them, and so honoured (Lowry 142). This quotation provides an insight on the reasoning
behind the restriction of memories and the role The Receiver plays. In Carter F. Hanson s piece, The
Utopian function of memory in Lois Lowry s The Giver, he provides a series of useful arguments
relating to the topic of shaping emotions. He analyzes why Lowry uses the concept of The Receiver of
memories to control the communities feelings: where one individual is responsible for holding all
memories of the past so that others can live unburdened by the pain, knowledge and guilt of human
history (Hanson). This quotation from Hansons article clearly states that memories were abolished in
this community for the purpose to void any lugubrious emotions and the way the community does this
is by having a Giver. Overall, Lowry uses a different method of

Stereotypes In Mother Tongue By Amy Tan
Amy Tan, in her text, Mother Tongue, also acknowledges how names can hold people back, as well as
analyzing how the stereotypes created from these names can affect opportunities. She describes the
challenges she faces being of Chinese descent, and the stereotypes she has to overcome that stand in
her way. She wonders why so many Asian students go into math and science career fields, and
speculates if others steer them in that direction because they assume those are careers Asians are
naturally good at. Tan questions, Why are there few Asian Americans enrolled in creative writing

James Baldwin, in his newspaper article, If Black English Isn t a Language, Then Tell me, What is?,
discusses the importance of language in the social world. He states that language connects one with, or
divorces one from, the larger, public, or communal identity. The name Redskins is pushed into the
conversation of the public, for it is the title of a popular sports team and discussed frequently. The
NFL is a part of the public discourse, for it is a major professional sports league, and a significant
element in America s culture. It has a sway with the public, for we know this national sport as our
nation s pastime sport: it captures our country s attention. Removing the Redskins name from football
would therefore contribute to its disappearance in the language world, for the NFL s influence over the
public is significant. It would stop promoting this demeaning language, and get it out of the public

Comparing Greek And Native American Creation Stories
Firstly, I would like to start off with the beginning where Greek creation stories with other creation
stories all started with chaos (nothing). Gaia and Uranus which were created as Mother Earth and the
Sky. Then Erebus was created in the void. In the Chinese creation story, the passage says all was
chaos, and this chaos was shaped like a hen s egg. Inside the egg were Yin and Yang , which were the
two opposing forces of which the universe was made. However the difference is that Gaia and Uranus
went on to give birth to Rhea and Cronus then they went onto giving birth to gods such as Zeus,
Poseidon and so on... There is a little more difference from the Greek creation stories and the Native
American creation stories, in the native American creation stories, the old man Kumish was created
and he would do all the creation himself rather than in the Greek creation stories; other gods creating
separate things. In Serbian creation stories in the beginning there was nothing but God. He slept and
dreamed for ages and he woke up at last at one point. As he woke up, every glance formed a star and
as he travelled the universe was created.
In the Chinese creation story, the world was created when the chaos (which was the shape of a hen s
egg) was rented apart. The elements were created, the heavier ones sank to form earth and the lighter

Undocumented Immigrants Be Deported Essay
Immigration has been a hot topic for not only President s Trump first 100 days in office, but also
became a hot topic during the presidential campaign leading up to the election. There are a multitude
of different debates that fall under the immigration category, but an issue that should be discussed in
the national discourse by engaging citizens is the legalization and granting of citizenship to
undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Even though it is heavily debated,
undocumented immigrants should be granted the legal right to become U.S. citizens. A poll done by
CNN in March states that 71% of people believe that the government should not attempt to deport all
people current living in the country illegally (Kopan, 1) compared to only 27% that believe illegal
immigrants should be deported by the same poll. This is key in the discussion being debated that
undocumented immigrants should be legal citizens of the United States. There are a significant
amount of undocumented immigrants who currently reside in the United States today. According to

growth. Even though many believe that undocumented immigrants becoming citizens will harm

A Interview On A Clinical Mental Health Counselor
A Personal Interview The purpose of this paper is for me to present a summary of a personal interview
had with Heather Smith, a clinical mental health counselor. It will further explore a day to day basis
on how working as a clinical mental health counselor, may be. Lastly, it will also reflect my personal
reflections about my future as a counselor based on information learned in this course.
Narrative Summary of Interview
On October 26, I had the pleasure of interviewing Heather Smith a clinical mental health counselor.
Heather Smith is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Alexandria Virginia. She specializes in
PTSD, Anxiety, Trauma, Marital and Premarital counseling. In addition to these specialties, she also
treats disorders such as Dissociative Disorders, Impulse Control disorders, and personality disorders.
Ms. Smith also works closely with Women s issues that include coping skills, sexual abuse,
depression, and suicidal ideation. Ms. Smith services a population of clients ranging from adolescents
(14 19), to adults as well.
Heather believes the primary differences that separate a clinical mental health counselor and other
mental health professionals such as: a social worker and psychologist are due to the type of work they
focus on primarily. Although, social workers, and psychologist may counsel clients, the majority may
have more in depth specification of study. Social workers are likely to work in case management and

and dismal to happy and cheerful. During one of the songs of Scene Four: Paris the Old Lady,
Cunegonde and Candide were discussing a flight and the music being played by the orchestra matched
the lyrics bringing the idea of a flight to life. The Old Lady has a mezzo soprano voice she executes all
of her notes well in the song. At the end of scene three Candide, Cunegonde, and the Old Lady leave
to go to a new place and in the song they sing there are rounds, which were well executed. It helped
change the mood again which brightened up the audience. In Act Two, Scene One: Buenos Aires, the
music has a fast tempo and the music is being played at a forte level, as the music continues it
suddenly softens to piano and the tempo slows down. Later in the scene during one of the songs you
could hear a washing board being played which added a new sound to the music the audience was

During the Victorian Era, they ate food right in its natural form with almost nothing added onto it for
flavor. However, people overall were not necessarily healthier, considering the percentage of people
who were considered to be in the lower class and lived in cities. The average city working class man s
diet was inconsistent, very basic, and for the most part innutritious (Wohl). People of the working
class in the country usually had to be self reliant when it came to food because they often did not have
the money to buy food. They would raise their own meat and grow their own food. This was actually
quite healthy considering the only added things were just natural spices and flavorings. People who
lived in the city and were in the working class had a much harder time getting nourishing food since
they did not have a place to make their own food. This led to their being distinctly malnourished as
compared to the higher class and people in the country. The people of the higher class, though they
often lived in the city, had a diet similar to those in the country, but with a larger variety of foods.
They could go to restaurants to get their food, have food imported (for a price), or have others raise
their own food for them. It was hard for people of the city working class and higher class to get the
proper nutrients, but those from the farming industry tended to eat much better (Victorian Food). Their
food was very fresh, and almost completely in its natural form which makes it quite healthy. Though
the higher class got a large variety as well, their food had a few added things, and had often been
shipped in which takes nutrients away. The health of food is something that is very different now
because we rarely have food in its natural form, so we are getting less nutrients than some people
during the Victorian

It was used towards the end of the war, on massively reinforced installations, underground caverns,

Golden Booklet Of The True Christian Life Summary
Should a Believer s Life Evidence Growth?
John Calvin makes the assertion throughout his Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life that a
believer s life should show growth and spiritual progress. According to the Christian teachings, Calvin
s assertions are correct. Calvin argues that because Christians believe that their lives belong to the
Lord, they are to follow His plan for their lives, strive to better the lives of others, and show
appreciation for God s blessings. The central idea that Calvin bases most of his claims on in his
booklet is the idea that Christians should walk in the beauty of God s law , so that the claims of belief
and trust in God that Christians make are exhibited outwardly in the way that they live their lives (15).
In theory, if believers do conduct their lives in an effort to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is very clear that this includes both friend and foe (37). This is in itself an embodiment of the first
argument that people should live in an effort to fulfill God s plan. If a person strives to encourage and
help their fellow humans, Calvin would argue that this is the very will of God. The outcome of their
good intentions should display relational growth in both their community and their personal lives. By
showing good will toward others, humans are displaying their appreciation for God s creation, for He
himself created humans. Calvin even goes so far as to say that Christians should do more than just be
nice to people; he says that they should sympathize with them, and so their best to offer assistance or
condolence in times of hardship (39). Calvin borrows Paul s example of the body in reference to the
church, saying that each part of the body depends on the others in order to run smoothly and
effectively (40). By doing their best to improve the lives of those around them, Christians encourage
growth both in the church and in their own

How does Charlotte Brounte Create Sympathy For Jane In The First Two
Chapters Of The Novel?
Jane Eyre is a fictional autobiography which was written in 1848. It is about a young girl who is
abused and tortured by her aunt and cousins, (the people she lives with).
There are many ways that Charlotte Brounte creates sympathy for Jane in the first two chapters.
However the four main ways are: the setting, the language used, the structure of the chapters and
finally the social content.
In the first chapter, the setting is in a room where Jane is reading a book. The writer uses pathetic
fallacy in this chapter to describe the weather as well as how Jane is feeling. Chilly afternoons

However in the second chapter, the setting changes from cold and damp to more of a gothic setting
which is quite frightening. It is in this chapter, where Jane is locked into the Red Room. The reader
would feel more sympathy for Jane at this point because the Red Room symbolises death and scares
Jane a lot, (which is shown by her resistance to going into it). In the Red Room a gothic and
mysterious feeling is presented to the reader. This is shown in the colours described in the Red Room
such as red , crimson , pink etc. All of these colours give Jane a dark feeling and represent death and
blood to her, as she already knows that her uncle s death had occurred in that room. The atmosphere,
that is created in that room is quiet and gives Jane the feeling of being lonely. This creates sympathy
as
Jane has no one and is alone. The Red Room overall creates darkness as the colours of the furniture
are darkly polished and the blinds on the windows are always drawn down . This adds and emphasises
the effect it has on Jane because she becomes more frightened.
Another way in which sympathy is created for Jane is through the language used to describe Jane
herself. Jane uses a lot of sarcasm when she describes her aunt and cousins. She uses words such as
mama and darlings whenever she speaks about them. This creates
sympathy

If guests want to keep visiting the parks and be able to experience the scenic views of different states,
they need to be respectful of the earth. Guests need to think of the impact they are having on others,
not just themselves. While Utah s residents and visitors are having fun in the outdoors, they also feed

  • 2. Do Violent Video Games Have An Impact On A Person s... Introduction People play video games mainly for entertainment. It s just like a hobby such as bike riding, fishing, and swimming or playing sports. Video games are also a form of art through which you can experience a story interactively and can also challenge you mentally through using problem solving skills to work through difficult scenarios. Some video games are even designed to be a fictional representation of life, allowing the player to experience or do things they would never be able to do in real life. In a society where we are responsible for our own actions, individuals may wonder whether these video games can have an influence on our actions. One of the main reasons that attract people to certain games is the inclusion of violence. People become immersed in a world where they are able to take risks and be able to break laws without suffering and harmful consequences that reality or real life would serve. This report is about Do violent video games have an impact on a person s behaviour? , Based on the information I collected, the following guiding questions will help in concluding an answer to my research topic. • 3. Innovative Marketing Practices Of Selected Business Essay Title of Research Paper Innovative Marketing Practices of Selected Business Firms in the Indian Rural Market MR. SUNIL V. CHAUDHARY ASSISTANT PROFESSOR SGME COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND MANAGEMENT (SEMCOM) VALLABH VIDYANAGAR, DISTRICT ANAND. Sunilchaudhary72@gmail.com KEY WORDS: Rural Marketing, Innovative Marketing Practices. Abstract The Indian rural market is much larger when compared to the urban market in terms of population and number of households, and also by way of geographic dispersal. The rural market is the new driving force of the Indian Consumption Story . With only 31.16% of the Indian population living in urban areas and 68.84% residing in the villages (Census 2011), it is only a matter of time before rural India takes its rightful place in the Indian growth story. Introduction There is growing realization among marketers about the enormous untapped potential of India s rural markets. The Indian rural market with its vast size and demand base offers great opportunities to companies. In India, there are 6,42000 villages . While agriculture used to be the major source of income in rural areas, over the past 10 12 years, the dominance of agriculture has been rapidly declining. The contribution of agriculture to India s GDP was less than 20% in 2008 09. There is a sizeable population of self employed persons in the hinterland and quite a few of them are into services such as repair and maintenance of motors and pump sets, televisions and other electrical ... • 4. Rhetorical Analysis Of Pope Francis I will be analyzing the speech of Pope Francis to a Joint Session of Congress from September of 2015 in Washington, D.C. for my final rhetorical analysis. This speech is important because it addresses societal issues in the United States and the whole world such as poverty, religion, war, the environment, immigration, and gun laws. The pope not only addresses the issues, but also acknowledges many of the marvelous features of America. In this paper, I will provide a summary of research I found on the context of the speech, the speaker, the audience, and the effects the speech had on society. Pope Francis is the present day spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, also known as the bishop of Rome or pontiff. He is the very first pope from Latin American, Argentina specifically, and is now known as the first pope ever that has addressed Congress. According to the guardian.com, Pope Francis, electrified Congress with a call for action on climate change, immigration, poverty and capital punishment, laying down a challenge for the United States to transcend division and rediscover its ideals (Carroll 1). He addressed these issues and drew a great interest from the audience for fifty one minutes in the chamber of the House of Representatives. The audience of the speech consisted of a large number of lawmakers, aides, and invited guests. The New York Times, referenced some of the people that attended: Sitting behind Francis were Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and House Speaker John A. Boehner, both Catholics. Flanking the aisle at the front were Secretary of State John Kerry and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., and not far behind them was Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, all Catholics (Baker, Yardley 17). There were great points being made on the mistakes Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke did not view from their perspective, which in turns were the problems that made up the crash. This created a necessitated attitude towards money since their was money being borrowed fighting against the collaterals, in turns the assets. When the assets started to decline, you need to start paying back money to those you have borrowed from. This is why Michelangelo s David, the Mona Lisa, the automobile, The Beatles, and Pride and Prejudice are all remembered. If it is the first to make an impact, it becomes important. That is when it will affect people in future generations. For example, the Model T is not produced anymore, but is the grandfather of almost every car made today, affecting jobs, businesses, people, and the world. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is taught today because it was one of the first important American written novels that contained obvious symbolism. Since symbolism is used in everything of literary merit, it is important to see where it started. Explain How To Determine A Cat s Age How to Determine a Cat s Age According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are approximately 82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a loving pet, but expect to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are several factors that are used to establish a cat s age and life expectancy. On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. In our first study, students from Sydney, Australia, were accessed using many psychological tests, scales, and inventories to obtain scores for accurate study. The topic of the study is Impairments in Goal directed actions that predict treatment response to cognitive behavioral therapy in social anxiety. There are certain guidelines that should be followed when it comes to using restraints. It is important to know the different kinds of restraints, how to apply a physical restraint properly and how to administer a chemical restraint safely. It is important to consider alternatives as the use of restraints can present risk and negative outcomes. History of Restraints Restraints were incorporated into health care many decades ago. In the late 1970s, more than 25% of U.S residents in long term care facilities were restrained compared to a current average of 5% (Taylor, Lillis, Lynn, 2015, p. 707). Since 1987, the federal government and accrediting agencies have worked to reduce or eliminate the use of restraints (Taylor et al. 2015, p. 708). ABSTRACT: Availability of daylight in a building not only improves the well being of an individual but also plays an important role in reducing our dependence on artificial light and the operational cost of a building. Daylight if not controlled could cause the major problem of solar heat gain in a building and thus causing an increase in the air conditioning cost of the building especially in warm climates. Offices being one of the building categories that need to be well lit regardless of their size and location, it is important to optimize the daylight and control the heat gain in an office building. This paper discusses the different daylight strategies to achieve this. 1. INTRODUCTION A room is not a room without natural light. Jonas suggests that if they share the memories with everyone, than he would not have to bear so much by himself (Lowry 142). The way that this society controls memories is by only introducing one person to them. If these memories were not held by one person then everyone will have to be burdened by the pain and torture: They don t want that. And that s the real reason The Receiver is so vital to them, and so honoured (Lowry 142). This quotation provides an insight on the reasoning behind the restriction of memories and the role The Receiver plays. In Carter F. Hanson s piece, The Utopian function of memory in Lois Lowry s The Giver, he provides a series of useful arguments relating to the topic of shaping emotions. He analyzes why Lowry uses the concept of The Receiver of memories to control the communities feelings: where one individual is responsible for holding all memories of the past so that others can live unburdened by the pain, knowledge and guilt of human history (Hanson). This quotation from Hansons article clearly states that memories were abolished in this community for the purpose to void any lugubrious emotions and the way the community does this is by having a Giver. She wonders why so many Asian students go into math and science career fields, and speculates if others steer them in that direction because they assume those are careers Asians are naturally good at. • 28. Comparing Greek And Native American Creation Stories Firstly, I would like to start off with the beginning where Greek creation stories with other creation stories all started with chaos (nothing). Gaia and Uranus which were created as Mother Earth and the Sky. Then Erebus was created in the void. In the Chinese creation story, the passage says all was chaos, and this chaos was shaped like a hen s egg. Inside the egg were Yin and Yang , which were the two opposing forces of which the universe was made. However the difference is that Gaia and Uranus went on to give birth to Rhea and Cronus then they went onto giving birth to gods such as Zeus, Poseidon and so on... There is a little more difference from the Greek creation stories and the Native American creation stories, in the native American creation stories, the old man Kumish was created and he would do all the creation himself rather than in the Greek creation stories; other gods creating separate things. In Serbian creation stories in the beginning there was nothing but God. He slept and dreamed for ages and he woke up at last at one point. As he woke up, every glance formed a star and as he travelled the universe was created. Undocumented Immigrants Be Deported Essay Immigration has been a hot topic for not only President s Trump first 100 days in office, but also became a hot topic during the presidential campaign leading up to the election. There are a multitude of different debates that fall under the immigration category, but an issue that should be discussed in the national discourse by engaging citizens is the legalization and granting of citizenship to undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Even though it is heavily debated, undocumented immigrants should be granted the legal right to become U.S. citizens. A poll done by CNN in March states that 71% of people believe that the government should not attempt to deport all people current living in the country illegally (Kopan, 1) compared to only 27% that believe illegal immigrants should be deported by the same poll. However, people overall were not necessarily healthier, considering the percentage of people who were considered to be in the lower class and lived in cities. The average city working class man s diet was inconsistent, very basic, and for the most part innutritious (Wohl). People of the working class in the country usually had to be self reliant when it came to food because they often did not have the money to buy food. They would raise their own meat and grow their own food. This was actually quite healthy considering the only added things were just natural spices and flavorings. People who lived in the city and were in the working class had a much harder time getting nourishing food since they did not have a place to make their own food. This led to their being distinctly malnourished as compared to the higher class and people in the country. The people of the higher class, though they often lived in the city, had a diet similar to those in the country, but with a larger variety of foods. They could go to restaurants to get their food, have food imported (for a price), or have others raise their own food for them. It was hard for people of the city working class and higher class to get the proper nutrients, but those from the farming industry tended to eat much better (Victorian Food). Their food was very fresh, and almost completely in its natural form which makes it quite healthy. Though the higher class got a large variety as well, their food had a few added things, and had often been shipped in which takes nutrients away. John Calvin makes the assertion throughout his Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life that a believer s life should show growth and spiritual progress. According to the Christian teachings, Calvin s assertions are correct. Calvin argues that because Christians believe that their lives belong to the Lord, they are to follow His plan for their lives, strive to better the lives of others, and show appreciation for God s blessings. The central idea that Calvin bases most of his claims on in his booklet is the idea that Christians should walk in the beauty of God s law , so that the claims of belief and trust in God that Christians make are exhibited outwardly in the way that they live their lives (15). Jane Eyre is a fictional autobiography which was written in 1848. It is about a young girl who is abused and tortured by her aunt and cousins, (the people she lives with). There are many ways that Charlotte Brounte creates sympathy for Jane in the first two chapters. However the four main ways are: the setting, the language used, the structure of the chapters and finally the social content. However in the second chapter, the setting changes from cold and damp to more of a gothic setting which is quite frightening. It is in this chapter, where Jane is locked into the Red Room. The reader would feel more sympathy for Jane at this point because the Red Room symbolises death and scares Jane a lot, (which is shown by her resistance to going into it). In the Red Room a gothic and mysterious feeling is presented to the reader. This is shown in the colours described in the Red Room such as red , crimson , pink etc. All of these colours give Jane a dark feeling and represent death and blood to her, as she already knows that her uncle s death had occurred in that room. The atmosphere, that is created in that room is quiet and gives Jane the feeling of being lonely. This creates sympathy as Jane has no one and is alone. The Red Room overall creates darkness as the colours of the furniture are darkly polished and the blinds on the windows are always drawn down . This adds and emphasises the effect it has on Jane because she becomes more frightened. Another way in which sympathy is created for Jane is through the language used to describe Jane herself.
