Essay Marketplace Changes for Coca Cola
The PEST analysis examines changes in a marketplace caused by Political, Economical, Social and
Technological factors.
P: Political change, from one party to another in control for example the rise in private healthcare and
privatisations under Conservative governments.
Political Analysis for Coca Cola
Non alcoholic beverages fall within the food category under the FDA. The government plays a role
within the operation of manufacturing these products in terms of regulations. There are potential fines
set by the government on companies if they do not meet a standard of laws.

Economic Analysis for Coca Cola
Last year the U.S. economy was strong and nearly every part of it was growing and doing well.
However, things changed. Most economists loosely define a recession as two consecutive quarters of
contraction, or negative GDP growth. On Monday 26, the government officially declared that the U.S.
has been in recession since March. (CBS Market Watch. U.S. Officially in a recession. Rex Nutting.

However, because of aggressive action by the Federal Reserve and Congress it will be short and mild.
The economy will return to sustained, positive growth in the first half of 2002.
Future Outlooks
The Federal Reserve is doing all that it can help the economy recover. They have cut the interest rate
ten times this year. The rate now lies at a 40 year low of 2%. Lowering the interest rates will
ultimately excite consumer demand in the economy. Companies will expand and increase use of debt
as a result of the low borrowing rates. Coca Cola can borrow money for investing in other products as
the interest rates are low. It can use the borrowing on research of new products or technology. As
researching for new products would cost less the Coca Cola Company will sell its products for less
and the people will spend as they would get cheap products from

Frost-Pre-Depth
Frost depth is the depth that the groundwater in soil is expected to freeze. The frost depth differ
depends on the climate conditions of that area, the heat transfer properties of the soil and adjacent
materials, and on nearby heat sources. The building code takes frost depth into account of the
calculation because of frost heaving that can damage buildings by moving the foundation. it is
significant that the footings of buildings must be installed in the ground below the frost depth. If the
underground portions of the supporting structure are above the frost depth, the pressure applied on the
footing will be upward. This could push the footing out of the ground or even responsible for major
structural damage in buildings. So, always confirming

Disruptive Behavior Classroom
Disruptive behavior in the classroom
Over the years at work I have noticed that disruptive behavior of students is a big challenge and a
frequent problem that teachers have to address in their classrooms. For those who are involved in
education know that teachers on a daily basis have a high amount of demands like improve test
results, successfully teach to students with diverse needs, and raise ability to serve all students, often
with minimum resources and support. Consequences of several national Gallup polls evidently
document that both the general public and teachers be in agreement that a major dilemma for public
schools is lack of students discipline in classrooms (Elam, Rose, Gallup, 1996; Rose Gallup, 2003,
2004). It is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a future problem for the learners. I have noticed in my school, that teachers who do not tolerated any

those classrooms run very efficiently. In the other hand, teachers that I have seen who tolerated
disruptive behavior at the same places the classroom is totally

Happiness In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
The ultimate goal of humans is to live a life of happiness; but at what cost would you consider
accepting to be happy? Are we truly happy when we are provided with food, clothing, shelter, and
gainful employment, the basic necessities of life; or are we only happy when we live a life full of
luxuries and excess? In Book 1 of Thomas More s Utopia, anyone that is caught stealing suffers the
consequence of being put to death, including theft of a loaf of bread to survive starvation. Thieves
suffered the same punishment as murders by being put to death for their crime. The character Raphael
Hythloday defends being against capital punishment for thieves by stating If theft carries the same
penalty as murder, the thief will be encouraged to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Utopia, the families live in groups of about 10 to 16 adults and the male elder of the household is
the leader. The male members stay in the household they were born into; women who marry, move
into their husband s household. Wives are subject to their husbands, children to their parents, and
generally the younger to their elders (More, 2011, p. 50). The children are raised and nursed by their
mother unless they become ill or die; a nurse then raises the child as their own if the mother is unable
to. Utopia relies on balance of family members within each household; if there are too many members
in one family, they may be moved to another household that doesn t have as many members. Elders
are given the highest respect; they are served the best food at mealtime and may share their delicacies
with others if they desire to. Thus due respect is paid to seniority, yet everyone enjoys some of the
benefits (More, 2011, p. 52). Husband and wives are monogamous, and divorce is only allowed by
mutual consent if both parties are unable to get along and they wish to find another partner; the

High Expectations Of Social Workers
In the article it discusses that social work is a very demanding field of work. Workers experience high
levels of stress and burnout rates. The authors goes on to explain that the high expectations that social
workers have on themselves from others and the expectations that they hold themselves to, ultimately
affects their well being (Graham Shier, 2014). The article explains that social workers experience a lot
of different situations and all of these situations take a toll on the social workers well being. Graham
and Shier explain that social workers experience violence, dangerous situations, burnout, vicarious
trauma exposure and so much more. All of those things play a major role in what can lead to a social

Video Analysis On Run
The third video, Run, includes more symbolism. However, it is mostly focused on the relationships
that the characters had with each other and their interactions together. Basically, the group can be
paired off into Rap Monster and V, Suga and Jungkook, and J Hope and Jimin. Jin does not have a
partner in this. He is further differentiated from the group in this way, and in the video he still has his
recording motif, as well as looking into the camera. The video starts with V falling backwards into
dark water. The water acts as a mirror in this case, showing him fall from one side of the mirror into
the other. There are shots of him struggling underwater throughout the video as well. After that, Rap
Monster is featured visiting the train tracks where the group was seen together. In this video, his
would be considered the present time. When he opens the door to one of the train cars, he starts a
flashback to times when the group was having fun. While the entire video is meant to be before the
members die, these are further flashbacks to when even V has not died, and they are all having fun
together. Some of these moments of fun directly mirror the activities that the ... Show more content on

One explanation of the basic plotline is that first, V kills a man. He is at a loss as to how to handle this,
and ends up killing himself. After that, unable to cope with his not being there, the rest of the members
also commit suicide in various ways, except for Jin. Although the specific order is not abundantly
clear, one can infer that at least Suga dies before Jungkook. Jin, however, is the only one left alive by
the end of this, forced to watch each of his friends disappear without being able to do anything about
it. These hypotheses can be deduced from the symbolism present in the form of cameras of recordings,
butterflies, and mirrors, among

Tobacco In Kentucky History Essay
Role of Tobacco in Kentucky History
Tobacco existed in Kentucky long before the establishment of the commonwealth Kentucky. Native
Americans; such as the Shawnee, utilized tobacco medicinally and ceremonially. European settlers
brought it with them to central and, eventually, western Kentucky, and until the late 1920s, Kentucky
produced more tobacco than any other state. Kentucky remained the largest burley and dark tobacco
producer, and ranked second, in total pounds produced, to North Carolina.
Aside from recreational and ceremonial use, some Native American tribes and European Americans
remedies involved tobacco, including pain easing salves, fighting labor pains, using smoke for colic
and asthma, and chewing to soothe toothaches (Campbell). In 1964, the US Surgeon General released
its first report regarding smoking hazards. Later reports offered specific warnings about tobacco use,
including heart and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For two years, beginning in 1905, masked men known as Night Riders raided communities around the
state, most notably in Western Kentucky. They burned buildings, and destroyed fields and machinery
in order to coerce hesitant farmers into joining them. They even beat and murdered non participating
farmers to intimidate others! The government finally dispersed the ATC s monopoly in 1911.
During World War I, prices rose with the growing popularity of blended cigarettes, but dropped soon
after. Kentucky burley farmers responded with an initially successful Burley Tobacco Growers Co
operative Association that was inactive by 1926. The Great Depression worsened the situation, costing
some farmers their land! Work programs and legislation provided some relief. The New Deal
introduced the federal tobacco program (strengthened through subsequent legislation), which
stabilized prices. Farmers raised yearly quotas in exchange for price supports (minimum price per

some of the more efficient ways of doing business by removing bottlenecks and redundancies in the
hierarchical processes of the company. Working on various projects of different scope helped me gain
a broad exposure to the retail industry, organizational communication and the variability of consumer
behavior. I strongly feel that I need a better understanding of how organizations function, how they
utilize a diverse workforce in a synergetic manner and the factors which affect employee productivity
levels. Therefore, I feel that further training and research in the area of Organizational Behavior would
be essential to enhance my knowledge and skills.
Purdue University is my preferred institution because the faculty is impressively knowledgeable and

The Evolution Of Homo Sapiens
The species that you and all other living human beings on this earth belong to is Homo sapiens. Homo
sapiens, believed to have evolved over a very long period in Africa, Asia and Europe. Like other early
humans that were living at this time, they gathered and hunted food, and evolved behaviors that
helped them live day to day with the challenges of surviving in unstable environments. Homo sapiens
different characteristics such as larger brain, different size of canines, and material cultural as in tool
use have all helped them evolve, but in their own unique way. Some traits may be a little somewhat
similar to primates such as birth, sexual relations, family, bone organization. Meanwhile it s mainly
humans whose evolution is growing rapidly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brain of Homo sapiens have been proven to be much larger than that of primates. (Armstrong,
Falk 2012: 237) Anatomically, modern humans nowadays can generally be characterized by the lighter
build of their skeletons compared to earlier humans in the past. Modern humans have very large
brains, which vary in size from population to population and between males and females, but the
average size is approximately 1300 cubic centimeters in contrast to some primates such as
chimpanzees whose brain size averages from 275 500 cubic centimeters. Most of this brain size
difference reflects the evolutionary expansion of the association cortex, a group of regions that
supports such mental functions as language, self awareness, and problem solving. As a result modern
humans have spread to every continent and vastly expanded their numbers. They have altered the
world in ways that benefit them greatly as in rapidly adjusting to such things like climate change and
new environments. Homo sapiens must remain in the care of their parents for much longer than other
living primates. Homo sapiens stay in their parents care for over 18 years, until adulthood. In contrast
to the Old World Monkeys, they stay with their parents for about 4 5 years. This is typically because
their parents conceive children every year. The question then becomes, why would the children of
homo sapiens remain with their parents for such a long period of time? It might make more
evolutionary sense to grow up rapidly to have more offspring and to be independent, but it is in those
18 years that crucial knowledge is gained. The explanation may be our large brains which presumably
require a long time to grow and learn. Certain aspects of survival and life are usually learned through
parents and with the aid of their knowledge, we are able to learn how to adapt to our social
environments. Primates do this as well but not to

Working Towards Your Dream Job
Working Towards Your Dream Job At some point in our lives, the majority of us will find ourselves
searching for a job. From deciding what position you want, to following up after an interview, you
must be intentional about your decisions throughout the job search process. Figuring out the job you
actually want might be the toughest and most important part of this. If you are working on a degree or
certification for a specific career, my advice is to search for an entry level position with a company
that you will be able to use your degree/certification in one day. Even if filing documents or sweeping
a warehouse isn t your dream job, doing these tasks at your dream company is one of the best ways to
realize your long term goal. This will not only be beneficial to you, as you will be getting firsthand
experience with the company to see if it is a place you really want to work for, but the hiring manager
for the entry level position could see you as a long term investment, which will give you a leg up on
the competition. Also, most companies prefer to promote within the organization, so once you
complete your degree and a position is open, you will have that extra boost in your favor. Once you
decide what job you re after, you need to prepare your resume. The resume should be clean, simple,
and no more than two pages. Keep it updated with any major accomplishments, but other than that,
leave it alone. Send your resume only when you know that the company is hiring for

The Plight of Intensive Agriculture
Agriculture has faced some of the most significant challenges in recent years. Major challenges
include: the rapid growth of the human population, and the increased demand for agricultural land and
environmental costs of non renewable resources. The current industrial agriculture system consumes
water, and topsoil at unsustainable rates. It contributes to numerous forms of environmental
degradation, including water pollution, soil depletion, and diminishing biodiversity. The following
environmental problems are associated with prevailing production methods: Synthetic chemical
pesticides and fertilizers are polluting soil, water, and air. Soil is ... Show more content on

In 1990, It is estimated that since World War II, poor farming practices had damaged about 550
million hectares an area equivalent to 38% of all farmland in use today (Oldman et al.28) . Industrial
agriculture endangers soil health because it depends on heavy machinery that compacts the soil,
destroying soil structure and killing beneficial organisms in the soil food web. Soil conservation is a
key integral part in sustainability since it takes many years for soil to naturally form. Despite the
simplicity of industrial monoculture farming, the practice itself does not provide any measures to
conserve topsoil. If farmers do not take part in protecting soil fertility, more farmable lands will be
lost, resulting in food production decline.
Agriculture affects water resources in two ways: irrigating fields using surface waters or aquifers
diverts water from other potential uses; and when farming practices pollute surface waters and
aquifers, they reduce the amount of water that is suitable for other uses. The US Environmental
Protection Agency has blamed current farming practices for 70% of the pollution in the nation s rivers
and streams. The agency reports that runoff of chemicals, silt, and animal waste from US farmland has
polluted more than 173,000 miles of waterways. Agriculture accounts for about two thirds of all water
use worldwide, far exceeding industrial and municipal use (Spooler 310). In many parts of the world,

Analysis Of `` Killing Us Softly 4 `` By Jean Kilbourne
Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly surrounded by advertisements. On average, we are
exposed to approximately 3,000 ads per day, through logos, billboards, and television commercials,
even our choices of brands. But in today s society, one of the most used and influential tools of
advertising are women. But the unfortunate thing is that women are not just viewed as actresses in
these ads but as objects for people to look at, use, abuse, and more. In her fourth installment in a line
of documentaries, Killing Us Softly 4, Jean Kilbourne explains the influence of advertising women
and popular culture, and its relationship to gender violence, sexism and racism, and eating disorders.
For women, advertising exemplifies the ideal female body. According to Kilbourne, young girls are
taught from a very early age that they need to spend lots of time and money to achieve this physical
perfection. But realistically this cannot be achieved. The ideal woman s body is Caucasian, very
skinny, big breasts, no flaws, and pretty much no pores. This cannot be achieved because it is
physically impossible to look like this; the illusion comes from the secret world of Photoshop. No
woman is beautiful enough so they leave it to technology to create perfection. The supermodel Cindy
Crawford said, I wish I looked like Cindy Crawford! She knew the realities of Photoshop and body
image, and more women and girls need to become aware of this as well. Kilbourne uses the example

Overall audit risk the combination of individual categories of audit risks assessed for each specific
control objective. An objective in formulating the audit approach is to limit the audit risk in the area
under scrutiny so the overall audit risk is at a sufficiently low level at the completion of the
examination. Another objective is to assess and control those risks to achieve the desired level of
assurance as efficiently as possible.
As much as this risks are prone to attacking the system; control risk assessment must be backed up by
control testing results.
Suitable Control Mechanisms
For more efficient and effective audit procedures, they are different control mechanisms that can be
applied in order to minimize risk: Mitigation is the most commonly used mechanism that involves
fixing the flaw or in a way providing a set of ways to compensate and control the impact that is
associated therein. The most common is installing system patches at any point a vulnerability has been

The Physics of Bridges Essay
Physics of Bridges
The physics behind bridges is more complex than first meets the eye. To assure that a bridge is well
supported many concepts must be understood and used in the correct manner.
What is a bridge?
A bridge is a complex structure allowing passage across an obstacle: a structure that is built above and
across a river, road, or other obstacle to allow people or vehicles to cross it.
Bridge forms
There are four major forms of bridges: beam, truss, arch, and suspension.
A beam bridge, also known as a girder bridge, contains a horizontal beam supported by 2 piers at each
end. The beam pushes down on the piers, which weakens the overall bridge. These simplistic bridges
are the shortest of all types due to the lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Above the bridge, a structure of the same pattern is placed to support the bridge from above. At the
ends of each bridge, there are two similar trusses. This ensures that the bridge stays together, even
when large amounts of weights cross it. By allowing more weight to cross, these bridges can be longer
than beam bridges (they can be up to 500 meters). Forces are the focus of these bridges; each bar
exerts a pushing or pulling force without bending. These forces allows the lightweight bridge to stay
sturdy without collapsing as each steel bar pushes or pulls in the correct direction. Due to this stability,
these bridges are often found over places with unstable ground. Anything from cars to trains are able
to cross over these types of bridges without issues.
There are 4 major concepts in building a bridge that builders must pay attention to; span type, material
of the bridge, the placement of the travel surface in relation to the structure, and the form of the
bridge. When considering all of these concepts, builders can effectively construct a safe and sturdy
bridge.
Newton s 3rd Law
One of the most vital concepts in bridge construction is Newton s 3rd Law. This law states: For every
action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Analysis of Northrop Grumman and Raytheon Essay
Introduction
The purpose of this company analysis is to discover why one company would be better to invest in
over the other. The analysis is based on two competing companies within the same industry. While
these two companies compare in products and services, they do not relate in overall size. To assist in
making an educating decision, many areas of each company were looked at. A comprehensive
financial ratio analysis was completed for each company, as well as an evaluation of their strengths,
weaknesses and future opportunities. While it is important to consider how a company manages its
finances, it is equally important to consider its future prospects as well. Below you will find a brief
description of each company, and an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was mostly accomplished through operational improvements and capital deployment actions.
Also, for 2010, they were able to generate $1.9 billion in operating cash flow, have a 14.6% return on
invested capital, and ended the year with almost zero net debt (Request Raytheon). To get a further
look at Raytheon s financial position, the data from a financial ratio analysis can be viewed. To
compare both Raytheon and Northrop Grumman, a financial ratio analysis was constructed for the two
companies. There were 19 total ratios and other financial factor utilized to compare both companies.
Out of all 19, Raytheon was able to best Northrop Grumman in 11. Some of the bigger areas that are
of concern are: current ratio, debt to asset ratio, times interest earned ratio, gross profit rate, and asset
turnover ratio. This is a good accomplishment for a company that sees s much smaller revenues than
many of its competitors. Although the company has much going for it, there are still some concerns
that should be taken into consideration. As mentioned above, the company does see smaller revenues
than many of its competitors. This lower generation of revenues could end up putting the company at
a disadvantage in such a competitive market. Raytheon s size could also lead to a reduction in
bargaining power against its competition (DATAMONITOR). Another weakness is the company s
dependence on government contracts. Since these contracts are

Teenage Subcultures
Due to the war ending in 1945, all families were able to settle down and have children. This led to the
baby boom of 1945 1960s where there was an abundance of youths in the 1950s. In the 50s there were
almost 100 babies born a minute putting a threat to over population (Howell.G, 1975). From this, the
teenager was invented (Kotarba J A, 2012) where many different subcultures had formed, each with
individual styles and influenced by figures in film, music and TV. Glossy fashion magazines such as
Vogue and Seventeen were also becoming very popular so youths were able to easily see what the
future held for trends and what clothes they should and shouldn t be wearing. Teenage girls and boys
were now recognised as a new consumer and when designers started to realise this they set up
boutiques inside department stores (Buxbaum.G, 1999). They sold simpler designs at cheaper prices
where the younger generation were able to create their own style rather than copying their parents, for
example ranges of clothes would come out specifically targeted at young girls for dances where they
would have a large choice in dresses to buy. British teenagers had twice as much money to spend on
what they liked compared to their parents (Breward.C, 1999). This meant that a new market opened up
for retailers with a great economic dependence on this particular age group. One of these subcultures
that had formed was called the Teddy Boys and Girls which originated in Mayfair, London before

The Stop-And-Frisk Law
New York City is one of the most popular cities in the United States. It is home to Times Square,
Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and known to be the most culturally diverse part of the
world. New York is one of the most visited cities in the country. New York City consists of five
boroughs; Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. According to The Wall Street
Journal s website, there have been over 53 million visitors in just 2013. With it s vast popularity
comes a high crime rate. New York City is also a popular target amongst terrorism groups with a
recorded 17 terrorist related crimes. As a society, we are continuously faced with the difficulty of
surrendering our freedom to increase our safety. The Stop and Frisk law allowed New York City police
offers to stop and search people for the suspicion of weapons, drugs and other illegal imports. This
program that was started by the previous New York Major Bloomberg with the help of the police
chief, sparked a lot of controversy because New Yorker s believed this new law was going against
their rights protected by the 4th Amendment.

Competitive Cheerleading Is A Sport
What is the formal definition of a sport? The dictionary considers it to be an activity involving
physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for
entertainment. There seems to be much dispute over whether competitive cheerleading fits the criteria
of a sport. Cheerleading has developed into something almost completely different than what it used
to be in the past. Competitive cheerleading consists of performing physically demanding routines and
competing against other squads. Competitive cheerleading should be labeled as a sport, thus
recognizing the competitive cheerleaders as athletes.
Cheerleading has all the elements to be considered a sport that any other sport has. There are some

If they did not, they would not be able to perform at the level and vigor that they do. In addition to
cheering on the other teams at their school, they also compete themselves. Gutgold acknowledges,
High school cheerleading will always proudly carry the tradition of supporting other sports teams
throughout the year, but it s also time for everyone to know that the spirited students cheering on the
sidelines come fall are also hardworking athletes with their own sport and season. More often than not
it seems cheerleaders do not receive the respect they deserve for all that they do. This might be
because spectators do not realize the difficulty and exertion it takes to execute a routine. This is partly
caused by the regulations on what can and cannot be performed. Pete Warner, a member of the BDN
staff and Maine s Sportswriter of the Year, mentions this. Safety rules are in place, meaning that fans
can only see the basic stunts and less advanced tumbling (Warner). Oftentimes cheerleaders do not
feel people understand how much talent and passion they actually have for cheerleading (Warner).
However, the desire for their sport is there, and it is fueling them to prove the skeptics and

African Of The International Criminal Court
I. Background
A. African States Contribution in the Inception of ICC Membership/Signatory of Rome Statue
African states have shown a strong commitment to putting an end to impunity for massive violations
of humanitarian law. This commitment is shown first in domestic contexts in which African states
have used their own criminal law systems to prosecute war criminals, in special tribunals such as that
in Sierra Leone, and in African states well established commitment to the international criminal Court.
African countries have been actively involved in the establishment of the International Criminal Court
and the Rome Statute more than 20 years ago, since negotiation started for the creation of the ICC.

At the Rome Conference, African States actively participated in the debates, and African delegations
were mainly led by high caliber officials Ministers of Justice, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and
Attorneys General. Forty seven African states were present for the drafting of the Rome Statute, the
founding treaty of the ICC, at the Rome Conference in July 1998. Many of these countries were
members of the Like Minded Group that pushed for adoption of the final Statute. Of the forty seven
African countries involved in drafting the Statute, the vast majority voted in favor of adopting the
Rome Statute and establishing the ICC.
Thirty four African countries are currently signatories to the Rome Statute of the ICC. Thirty African
states have ratified the Rome Statute, making Africa the most heavily represented region in the Court s
membership. Approximately twenty African countries have final or draft national implementation
legislation that incorporates Rome Statute crimes and/or enables cooperation with the Court. The first
and the most recent countries to ratify the Rome Statute are Senegal and Cote d Ivoire, respectively.

Many may disagree on surrogate mothers because the paternal mother does not have the same
connection as a mother whose baby is growing and developing inside her. Some may argue that
Monica could not have kids, but that point can be fought with the choice of adoption. Surrogacy was
supported by a few states and traditional surrogacy in the 1990s was not commonly nor legally
supported. One case in 1990 explains how a surrogate mother wanted to have custody of the child
after admitting she had developed an emotional bondage with the baby. The judge denied her custody
and decided to have the child raised by his genetic parents. The judge thought about the child s sake;
he did not want the boy to grow up with the confusion of having relationships with two mothers and a
father. Judge Parslow stated to the California Legislature that if any surrogate agreements withstand,
the surrogate must understand the psychological evaluation she will undergo. The Friends series
supported surrogacy and made it seem to society that it was

The Communication Model Of Communication
1. What is the transmission model of communication? Where does it come from? What does it do well
in helping us understand the process of communication in everyday life? What are its limitations? The
transmission model of communication as defined by James Carey is a process whereby messages are
transmitted or sent and distributed over distance and into space for the purpose of control. The
transmission model includes a sender on one end and a receiver on the other. In the middle is the
median that the message is being sent through. This comes from the nineteenth century from religious
origins. For example, to try to understand this model, we can think about missionaries. The
missionaries were sent from the Roman Catholic Church to other countries to spread the teaching of
Jesus in order to gain control of the people. The transmission does well in helping us understand the
efficiency, convenience, and influence/ control of communication in everyday life. The limitations if
the transmission model is that the transmission model doesn t let us understand the importance of
context that information takes on its meaning in particular times, in particular situations, with
particular people. Another one of its limitations is that the medium is neutralized and the transmission
model doesn t differentiate between different medium such as, newspapers, social media, and amber

Feminism In The Scarlett Letter
Feminism in the Scarlet Letter According to Merriam Webster Dictionary the word feminism means
the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes . In a way the Scarlett Letter,
written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, portrays its main protagonist, Hester Prynne, as a poster child for
early feminism. Throughout the story Hester is slandered and shunned upon about committing the sin
of adultery. As the story continues we see the character of Hester evolve from a timid, shameful
human being into a confident, strong woman. With Hester facing the hardships of making a living for
herself, singlehandedly raising a child, and changing Puritan social norms one can conclude that the
Scarlett Letter is an early piece of feministic literature. As a women in early American society, women
usually didn t play the role of the breadwinner in the household, but Hester was an exception. Hester
made quite a name for herself in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, for her elegant work she produces
with a needle and a thread.
Even though, Hester was the outcast of the town, her work was still seen on the ruff of the Governor;
military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked the baby s little cap; it was
shut up, to be mildewed and moulder away, in the coffins of the dead. (Hawthorne 124). Hester s
perseverance and work ethic helped her financially get by and provide from her family, during a time
where women were even less accounted for.
Hester did what even possible to make sure her family was able to survive, she put in as many hours
as she saw fit to occupy with her needle (Hawthorne 124). Clearly Hester has pushed the social
barriers that society as imprisoned her in for years and shattered them into pieces by making a living
for herself, in a society where it is highly unlikely for a women of her status to accomplish, especially
for a person who has an reputation like hers. Day after day, Hester is reminded of the reason of her
exile from her previous, everyday life. Hester was an adulteress, and with that sin came a child.
Singlehandedly, Hester had to raise this child, without a any moral, financial support. Often in times
breaking down into tears talking to the heavens asking

Flamenco and the Spanish Culture
You can learn a lot about a country based on the music that s produced there. The music of Spain is
rich in both history and culture. Many different musical styles have originated from various locations
through Spain such as Flamenco from Andalusia, the Galician bagpipe music from Galicia and the
classical guitar music that originated throughout Spain in the early . Spanish music is very diverse and
reflects the large cultural differences between regions. The music of Spain has also had a large impact
on the music of western cultures.(Music of Spain). Flamenco is a form of Spanish folk music which
originated in Andalusia in the south of the country. This type of music as we know it today is a
spectacle which is made up for four different elements Cante Voice, Baile Dance, Toque Guitar, and
the Jaleo, which roughly translated means hell raising and involves hand clapping, foot stomping, and
encouraging shouts of the audience ( Flamenco History. ). However it was not always like this.
Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century and consisted of what the Spanish refer to as Palo
Secos, or dry styles.( Flamenco History. ). This was basicly singing or chanting accompanied only by
a rhythm beaten out on the floor by a wooden staff or cane. However the genre underwent a dramatic
development in the late 19th century and had become the spectacle that we know today. In the past
flamenco music was not very widespread outside the region of its origin. However in

Side out, side out! You got this! The crowd s roaring chant is a broken record on full blast. All of a

team, Beach Vibes 14 1 has been going back and forth with Texas team, Magic 14 1 for more than an

outside blocker with enhanced biceps were partially blocking my view. The server serves a powerful

A Study Area Is The Region Of The U.s. Lake
A study area is the region of the U.S. Lake States, including Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. In
the region, about 27% of the estimated 20.8 million people reside in rural areas. Over 96% of the lands
are considered as rural areas. Traditionally, the region had economically dependent on natural resource
extraction and related low skill manufacturing industries (Hamilton et al., 2008). However, such
industries are recently weakened by globalization and rising policies on protection of natural
resources. Consequently, tourism based industries that depend on managed public lands not only
protecting natural resources, but also providing recreational opportunities have been considered as
important alternatives for local economic growth. Thus, an investigation of the relative impacts of
economic structures on income distribution can broaden our understanding of the role of each
economic industry in the distributional aspects of gateway communities.
There is no definitive way to define the gateway communities. In this study, I partly follow a method
for Sphere of Influence of gateway communities suggested by the M3West study (Hester, 2013). He
used a travel distance that is measured by predefined buffer distance for recreational commuting from
gateway communities to public lands. Thus, I first collect public land data (see figure 1). Then, I use a
sensitivity analysis to select an appropriate travel distance for recreational commuting based on 5, 10,
and 15 mile buffer. From

Dreamliner 787 Case Study
Boeing is the worlds largest aerospace company. While Boeing is known mostly known for their
commercial airplanes they also manufactures defense, space and security systems, military aircrafts,
weapons, satellites, electronic defense systems, launch systems and information and communication
systems (Boeing, 2013). In this case we are going to focus on the Dreamliner 787, and the problems
that came with the creation of it. The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner was delivered to Japan s ANA in
2011, nearly 40 months after the planned delivery date. The expected delivery was in May 2008, but
the fuel efficient 787 Dreamliner s manufacturing had become complicated due to multiple changes in
the design and supply chain implemented all at once. Far from the traditional manufacturing,
Dreamliner design consists of many new features like unique design, one piece fuselage, reduced
weight, 20% increase in fuel economy, and reduction in maintenance time. Apart from the changes in
design, another major difficulty was the company s global supply chain network. For the first time
ever Boeing outsourced two most critical parts fuselage and wings. Everything put together, the
complications kept increasing and so is the delay. At least when the plane finally the entered the
market years later design came out as expected, and there weren t any sacrifices to the design that had
to be made. The plane can hold from 210 250 passengers on routes of 7650 8200 nautical miles and

Descriptive Essay On A House In Childhood
Driving to Long Prairie, on the right side of the road, up a hill with a long, paved driveway will be a
house to the left. This house is two stories with a basement. The first time I saw it, the house had a
worn out, light tan vinyl siding with faded, dark red shutters from years of Minnesota weather. At the
end of the driveway was a garage that resembled the houses color. To the right of the driveway was a
large stone wall that was overrun with wild grape vines. In the middle of the wall was a stairway that
leads to an old, rundown playhouse. Also, there was a large, gray brick shed further away. Beyond the
house are the woods, littered with pine needles from the rows of trees my grandpa planted when he
moved there. The whole area is surrounded by the overpowering smell of pine, and the silence the
woods carries; it brings a calming, peaceful sensation to me. As the years have gone on, the house and
I have aged, grown, and changed together. Walking up the cracked cement steps, I enter the house
through a wood lacquer door. The smell that first hits my nose is the cigarette smoke from Grandpa.
Once inside, to my right, is the dining room that is typically filled with food and laughter. During the
holidays we gather there and fill our bellies with the food that we have all brought, and stuff ourselves
with the sweets that grandma has baked. To the left as I enter the door is the kitchen which is always
warm from the oven being used constantly with cooks bustling about like bees. If a turkey or ham was
not in the oven, there are cookies or brownies or my personal favorite, rhubarb pie. I would salivate
anticipating the sweet, tart taste to hit my lips, and I would devour it with greed. Straight ahead of the
entrance is the basement door. The basement steps are simply the wood floor beams that were never
completed. The basement was their storage space and where their appliances were such as their water
heater, which gave off a soft hum. The basement had the faint smell of vinegar because my
grandparents liked to pickle, so they had shelves in the basement cluttered with jars of various things
that they pickled. Going back up the stairs and through the kitchen is the carpeted living room. The far
side of the room

Poverty Inequality And The Poverty
The rich cause poverty because of the inequality and unfairness they bring. The country is put to
blame for the governments and nations decisions. The people themselves can also be put at fault for
poverty because of population but, some can not help it. This affects the poverty threshold, the people,
and the number of people in poverty. Poverty can be solved with the help of organizations, the
government or the president, and happy volunteers who would be willing to do a lot for these people.
Poverty is a well known problem and has been around for centuries.
First off, One cause for poverty is the Rich. The rich bring inequality to the poor. The wealth
difference between upper class and lower class is at its widest point. In most nations today, inequality
the gap between the rich and the poor is quite high and often widening ( Cause of ). Shows that while
the rich are seeing their wealth grow, the middle and lower classes are seeing financial decline. The
distribution of wealth and income reveals inequalities among countries. Inequality in the distribution
of money income causes poverty (Davis 23). The distribution of wealth compares all the assets held
by the richest and poorest members of society. Tanzania is the largest of the East African countries and
one of the poorest countries in the world. During the twentieth century, the gap between the income of
the richest and the poorest countries grew substantially, for example, in 2006, the average U.S. citizen

  • 2. Essay Marketplace Changes for Coca Cola The PEST analysis examines changes in a marketplace caused by Political, Economical, Social and Technological factors. P: Political change, from one party to another in control for example the rise in private healthcare and privatisations under Conservative governments. Political Analysis for Coca Cola Non alcoholic beverages fall within the food category under the FDA. The government plays a role within the operation of manufacturing these products in terms of regulations. There are potential fines set by the government on companies if they do not meet a standard of laws. The following are some of the factors that could cause Coca Cola company s actual results to differ materially from the expected results described in their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rate of interest rises depressing business and causing redundancies and lower spending levels. Economic Analysis for Coca Cola Last year the U.S. economy was strong and nearly every part of it was growing and doing well. However, things changed. Most economists loosely define a recession as two consecutive quarters of contraction, or negative GDP growth. On Monday 26, the government officially declared that the U.S. has been in recession since March. (CBS Market Watch. U.S. Officially in a recession. Rex Nutting. [nov 26,2001]. www.cbsmarketwatch.com) However, because of aggressive action by the Federal Reserve and Congress it will be short and mild. The economy will return to sustained, positive growth in the first half of 2002. Future Outlooks The Federal Reserve is doing all that it can help the economy recover. They have cut the interest rate ten times this year. The rate now lies at a 40 year low of 2%. Lowering the interest rates will ultimately excite consumer demand in the economy. Companies will expand and increase use of debt as a result of the low borrowing rates. Coca Cola can borrow money for investing in other products as the interest rates are low. It can use the borrowing on research of new products or technology. As researching for new products would cost less the Coca Cola Company will sell its products for less and the people will spend as they would get cheap products from ... • 3. Frost-Pre-Depth Frost depth is the depth that the groundwater in soil is expected to freeze. The frost depth differ depends on the climate conditions of that area, the heat transfer properties of the soil and adjacent materials, and on nearby heat sources. The building code takes frost depth into account of the calculation because of frost heaving that can damage buildings by moving the foundation. it is significant that the footings of buildings must be installed in the ground below the frost depth. If the underground portions of the supporting structure are above the frost depth, the pressure applied on the footing will be upward. This could push the footing out of the ground or even responsible for major structural damage in buildings. So, always confirming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disruptive Behavior Classroom Disruptive behavior in the classroom Over the years at work I have noticed that disruptive behavior of students is a big challenge and a frequent problem that teachers have to address in their classrooms. For those who are involved in education know that teachers on a daily basis have a high amount of demands like improve test results, successfully teach to students with diverse needs, and raise ability to serve all students, often with minimum resources and support. Consequences of several national Gallup polls evidently document that both the general public and teachers be in agreement that a major dilemma for public schools is lack of students discipline in classrooms (Elam, Rose, Gallup, 1996; Rose Gallup, 2003, 2004). It is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If teachers do not stop immediately a disruptive behavior in the classroom, this may be a beginning of a future problem for the learners. I have noticed in my school, that teachers who do not tolerated any disruptive behavior in any place at school like in their classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and cafeteria, those classrooms run very efficiently. • 5. Happiness In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World The ultimate goal of humans is to live a life of happiness; but at what cost would you consider accepting to be happy? Are we truly happy when we are provided with food, clothing, shelter, and gainful employment, the basic necessities of life; or are we only happy when we live a life full of luxuries and excess? In Book 1 of Thomas More s Utopia, anyone that is caught stealing suffers the consequence of being put to death, including theft of a loaf of bread to survive starvation. Thieves suffered the same punishment as murders by being put to death for their crime. The character Raphael Hythloday defends being against capital punishment for thieves by stating If theft carries the same penalty as murder, the thief will be encouraged to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Utopia, the families live in groups of about 10 to 16 adults and the male elder of the household is the leader. The male members stay in the household they were born into; women who marry, move into their husband s household. Wives are subject to their husbands, children to their parents, and generally the younger to their elders (More, 2011, p. 50). The children are raised and nursed by their mother unless they become ill or die; a nurse then raises the child as their own if the mother is unable to. Utopia relies on balance of family members within each household; if there are too many members in one family, they may be moved to another household that doesn t have as many members. Elders are given the highest respect; they are served the best food at mealtime and may share their delicacies with others if they desire to. Thus due respect is paid to seniority, yet everyone enjoys some of the benefits (More, 2011, p. 52). Husband and wives are monogamous, and divorce is only allowed by mutual consent if both parties are unable to get along and they wish to find another partner; the senators and their wives must approve their ... • 7. Video Analysis On Run The third video, Run, includes more symbolism. However, it is mostly focused on the relationships that the characters had with each other and their interactions together. Basically, the group can be paired off into Rap Monster and V, Suga and Jungkook, and J Hope and Jimin. Jin does not have a partner in this. He is further differentiated from the group in this way, and in the video he still has his recording motif, as well as looking into the camera. The video starts with V falling backwards into dark water. The water acts as a mirror in this case, showing him fall from one side of the mirror into the other. There are shots of him struggling underwater throughout the video as well. After that, Rap Monster is featured visiting the train tracks where the group was seen together. In this video, his would be considered the present time. When he opens the door to one of the train cars, he starts a flashback to times when the group was having fun. While the entire video is meant to be before the members die, these are further flashbacks to when even V has not died, and they are all having fun together. Some of these moments of fun directly mirror the activities that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One explanation of the basic plotline is that first, V kills a man. He is at a loss as to how to handle this, and ends up killing himself. After that, unable to cope with his not being there, the rest of the members also commit suicide in various ways, except for Jin. Although the specific order is not abundantly clear, one can infer that at least Suga dies before Jungkook. Jin, however, is the only one left alive by the end of this, forced to watch each of his friends disappear without being able to do anything about it. • 8. Tobacco In Kentucky History Essay Role of Tobacco in Kentucky History Tobacco existed in Kentucky long before the establishment of the commonwealth Kentucky. Native Americans; such as the Shawnee, utilized tobacco medicinally and ceremonially. European settlers brought it with them to central and, eventually, western Kentucky, and until the late 1920s, Kentucky produced more tobacco than any other state. Kentucky remained the largest burley and dark tobacco producer, and ranked second, in total pounds produced, to North Carolina. Aside from recreational and ceremonial use, some Native American tribes and European Americans remedies involved tobacco, including pain easing salves, fighting labor pains, using smoke for colic and asthma, and chewing to soothe toothaches (Campbell). In 1964, the US Surgeon General released its first report regarding smoking hazards. Later reports offered specific warnings about tobacco use, including heart and ... They burned buildings, and destroyed fields and machinery in order to coerce hesitant farmers into joining them. They even beat and murdered non participating farmers to intimidate others! The government finally dispersed the ATC s monopoly in 1911. During World War I, prices rose with the growing popularity of blended cigarettes, but dropped soon after. Kentucky burley farmers responded with an initially successful Burley Tobacco Growers Co operative Association that was inactive by 1926. The Great Depression worsened the situation, costing some farmers their land! Work programs and legislation provided some relief. The New Deal introduced the federal tobacco program (strengthened through subsequent legislation), which stabilized prices. Homo sapiens, believed to have evolved over a very long period in Africa, Asia and Europe. Like other early humans that were living at this time, they gathered and hunted food, and evolved behaviors that helped them live day to day with the challenges of surviving in unstable environments. Homo sapiens different characteristics such as larger brain, different size of canines, and material cultural as in tool use have all helped them evolve, but in their own unique way. Some traits may be a little somewhat similar to primates such as birth, sexual relations, family, bone organization. Meanwhile it s mainly humans whose evolution is growing rapidly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The brain of Homo sapiens have been proven to be much larger than that of primates. (Armstrong, Falk 2012: 237) Anatomically, modern humans nowadays can generally be characterized by the lighter build of their skeletons compared to earlier humans in the past. Modern humans have very large brains, which vary in size from population to population and between males and females, but the average size is approximately 1300 cubic centimeters in contrast to some primates such as chimpanzees whose brain size averages from 275 500 cubic centimeters. Most of this brain size difference reflects the evolutionary expansion of the association cortex, a group of regions that supports such mental functions as language, self awareness, and problem solving. As a result modern humans have spread to every continent and vastly expanded their numbers. They have altered the world in ways that benefit them greatly as in rapidly adjusting to such things like climate change and new environments. Homo sapiens must remain in the care of their parents for much longer than other living primates. Homo sapiens stay in their parents care for over 18 years, until adulthood. In contrast to the Old World Monkeys, they stay with their parents for about 4 5 years. This is typically because their parents conceive children every year. The question then becomes, why would the children of homo sapiens remain with their parents for such a long period of time? It might make more evolutionary sense to grow up rapidly to have more offspring and to be independent, but it is in those 18 years that crucial knowledge is gained. The explanation may be our large brains which presumably require a long time to grow and learn. Certain aspects of survival and life are usually learned through parents and with the aid of their knowledge, we are able to learn how to adapt to our social environments. Primates do this as well but not to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Figuring out the job you actually want might be the toughest and most important part of this. If you are working on a degree or certification for a specific career, my advice is to search for an entry level position with a company that you will be able to use your degree/certification in one day. Even if filing documents or sweeping a warehouse isn t your dream job, doing these tasks at your dream company is one of the best ways to realize your long term goal. This will not only be beneficial to you, as you will be getting firsthand experience with the company to see if it is a place you really want to work for, but the hiring manager for the entry level position could see you as a long term investment, which will give you a leg up on the competition. The Plight Of Intensive Agriculture 2015 Waipahu HS Desmond Mahor Kyle Rafael Marcelion The Plight of Intensive Agriculture Agriculture has faced some of the most significant challenges in recent years. Major challenges include: the rapid growth of the human population, and the increased demand for agricultural land and environmental costs of non renewable resources. The current industrial agriculture system consumes water, and topsoil at unsustainable rates. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1990, It is estimated that since World War II, poor farming practices had damaged about 550 million hectares an area equivalent to 38% of all farmland in use today (Oldman et al.28) . Industrial agriculture endangers soil health because it depends on heavy machinery that compacts the soil, destroying soil structure and killing beneficial organisms in the soil food web. Soil conservation is a key integral part in sustainability since it takes many years for soil to naturally form. Despite the simplicity of industrial monoculture farming, the practice itself does not provide any measures to conserve topsoil. If farmers do not take part in protecting soil fertility, more farmable lands will be lost, resulting in food production decline. Agriculture affects water resources in two ways: irrigating fields using surface waters or aquifers diverts water from other potential uses; and when farming practices pollute surface waters and aquifers, they reduce the amount of water that is suitable for other uses. The US Environmental Protection Agency has blamed current farming practices for 70% of the pollution in the nation s rivers and streams. The agency reports that runoff of chemicals, silt, and animal waste from US farmland has polluted more than 173,000 miles of waterways. Agriculture accounts for about two thirds of all water use worldwide, far exceeding industrial and municipal use (Spooler 310). In many parts of the world, irrigation is depleting ... But in today s society, one of the most used and influential tools of advertising are women. But the unfortunate thing is that women are not just viewed as actresses in these ads but as objects for people to look at, use, abuse, and more. In her fourth installment in a line of documentaries, Killing Us Softly 4, Jean Kilbourne explains the influence of advertising women and popular culture, and its relationship to gender violence, sexism and racism, and eating disorders. For women, advertising exemplifies the ideal female body. According to Kilbourne, young girls are taught from a very early age that they need to spend lots of time and money to achieve this physical perfection. But realistically this cannot be achieved. The ideal woman s body is Caucasian, very skinny, big breasts, no flaws, and pretty much no pores. This cannot be achieved because it is physically impossible to look like this; the illusion comes from the secret world of Photoshop. No woman is beautiful enough so they leave it to technology to create perfection. The supermodel Cindy Crawford said, I wish I looked like Cindy Crawford! To assure that a bridge is well supported many concepts must be understood and used in the correct manner. What is a bridge? A bridge is a complex structure allowing passage across an obstacle: a structure that is built above and across a river, road, or other obstacle to allow people or vehicles to cross it. Bridge forms There are four major forms of bridges: beam, truss, arch, and suspension. A beam bridge, also known as a girder bridge, contains a horizontal beam supported by 2 piers at each end. The beam pushes down on the piers, which weakens the overall bridge. These simplistic bridges are the shortest of all types due to the lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Above the bridge, a structure of the same pattern is placed to support the bridge from above. At the ends of each bridge, there are two similar trusses. This ensures that the bridge stays together, even when large amounts of weights cross it. By allowing more weight to cross, these bridges can be longer than beam bridges (they can be up to 500 meters). Forces are the focus of these bridges; each bar exerts a pushing or pulling force without bending. These forces allows the lightweight bridge to stay sturdy without collapsing as each steel bar pushes or pulls in the correct direction. Due to this stability, these bridges are often found over places with unstable ground. Anything from cars to trains are able to cross over these types of bridges without issues. There are 4 major concepts in building a bridge that builders must pay attention to; span type, material of the bridge, the placement of the travel surface in relation to the structure, and the form of the bridge. When considering all of these concepts, builders can effectively construct a safe and sturdy bridge. Newton s 3rd Law One of the most vital concepts in bridge construction is Newton s 3rd Law. In the 50s there were almost 100 babies born a minute putting a threat to over population (Howell.G, 1975). From this, the teenager was invented (Kotarba J A, 2012) where many different subcultures had formed, each with individual styles and influenced by figures in film, music and TV. What does it do well in helping us understand the process of communication in everyday life? What are its limitations? The transmission model of communication as defined by James Carey is a process whereby messages are transmitted or sent and distributed over distance and into space for the purpose of control. The transmission model includes a sender on one end and a receiver on the other. In the middle is the median that the message is being sent through. This comes from the nineteenth century from religious origins. For example, to try to understand this model, we can think about missionaries. The missionaries were sent from the Roman Catholic Church to other countries to spread the teaching of Jesus in order to gain control of the people. Feminism In The Scarlett Letter Feminism in the Scarlet Letter According to Merriam Webster Dictionary the word feminism means the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes . In a way the Scarlett Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, portrays its main protagonist, Hester Prynne, as a poster child for early feminism. Throughout the story Hester is slandered and shunned upon about committing the sin of adultery. As the story continues we see the character of Hester evolve from a timid, shameful human being into a confident, strong woman. With Hester facing the hardships of making a living for herself, singlehandedly raising a child, and changing Puritan social norms one can conclude that the Scarlett Letter is an early piece of feministic literature. As a women in early American society, women usually didn t play the role of the breadwinner in the household, but Hester was an exception. Hester made quite a name for herself in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, for her elegant work she produces with a needle and a thread. Even though, Hester was the outcast of the town, her work was still seen on the ruff of the Governor; military men wore it on their scarfs, and the minister on his band; it decked the baby s little cap; it was shut up, to be mildewed and moulder away, in the coffins of the dead. (Hawthorne 124). Hester s perseverance and work ethic helped her financially get by and provide from her family, during a time where women were even less accounted for. Hester did what even possible to make sure her family was able to survive, she put in as many hours as she saw fit to occupy with her needle (Hawthorne 124). Clearly Hester has pushed the social barriers that society as imprisoned her in for years and shattered them into pieces by making a living for herself, in a society where it is highly unlikely for a women of her status to accomplish, especially for a person who has an reputation like hers. Day after day, Hester is reminded of the reason of her exile from her previous, everyday life. Hester was an adulteress, and with that sin came a child. This type of music as we know it today is a spectacle which is made up for four different elements Cante Voice, Baile Dance, Toque Guitar, and the Jaleo, which roughly translated means hell raising and involves hand clapping, foot stomping, and encouraging shouts of the audience ( Flamenco History. ). However it was not always like this. Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century and consisted of what the Spanish refer to as Palo Secos, or dry styles.( Flamenco History. ). This was basicly singing or chanting accompanied only by a rhythm beaten out on the floor by a wooden staff or cane. However the genre underwent a dramatic development in the late 19th century and had become the spectacle that we know today. In the past flamenco music was not very widespread outside the region of its origin. However in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. A Volleyball Story Side out, side out! You got this! The crowd s roaring chant is a broken record on full blast. All of a sudden, my ears deafen and my heart races. My hands are moist and my throat is dry. Perspiration slowly trails down my face as I glance at the red and blue scoreboard. The score reads 12 13. My team, Beach Vibes 14 1 has been going back and forth with Texas team, Magic 14 1 for more than an hour. Both teams won one set, and now Magic is in the lead by one point. This is such a long and exhausting game! I think frantically, mentally talking to myself. Focus, Taeah, focus. I try locking my weary eyes on the tall server but the towering middle blocker with a wingspan of an eagle and the outside blocker with enhanced biceps were partially blocking my view. The server serves a powerful topspin jump serve towards Karlee, but the short, lighting fast defensive specialist dives forward to pass the ball. It was a perfect pass, going directly to the petite hands of our skilled setter, Erica. She sets me on zone 4. Leaping into the air like a graceful ballerina, I pull my right arm back to load. When my hand contacts the ball, I slam it at an open hard angle, zone 4. My team and I cheer hysterically. I hear a loud, Do it again! in the crowd, and I turn to see my mother with proud eyes and a permanent smile plastered across her face staring intently at me. The score now shows 13 13. Everyone rotates, and Erica serves a fast, float serve. Number 24 shanks the ball, scoring us a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. A Study Area Is The Region Of The U.s. Lake A study area is the region of the U.S. Lake States, including Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. In the region, about 27% of the estimated 20.8 million people reside in rural areas. Over 96% of the lands are considered as rural areas. Traditionally, the region had economically dependent on natural resource extraction and related low skill manufacturing industries (Hamilton et al., 2008). However, such industries are recently weakened by globalization and rising policies on protection of natural resources. Consequently, tourism based industries that depend on managed public lands not only protecting natural resources, but also providing recreational opportunities have been considered as important alternatives for local economic growth. Thus, an investigation of the relative impacts of economic structures on income distribution can broaden our understanding of the role of each economic industry in the distributional aspects of gateway communities. There is no definitive way to define the gateway communities. In this study, I partly follow a method for Sphere of Influence of gateway communities suggested by the M3West study (Hester, 2013). He used a travel distance that is measured by predefined buffer distance for recreational commuting from gateway communities to public lands. Thus, I first collect public land data (see figure 1). Then, I use a sensitivity analysis to select an appropriate travel distance for recreational commuting based on 5, 10, and 15 mile buffer. From ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Dreamliner 787 Case Study Boeing is the worlds largest aerospace company. While Boeing is known mostly known for their commercial airplanes they also manufactures defense, space and security systems, military aircrafts, weapons, satellites, electronic defense systems, launch systems and information and communication systems (Boeing, 2013). In this case we are going to focus on the Dreamliner 787, and the problems that came with the creation of it. The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner was delivered to Japan s ANA in 2011, nearly 40 months after the planned delivery date. The expected delivery was in May 2008, but the fuel efficient 787 Dreamliner s manufacturing had become complicated due to multiple changes in the design and supply chain implemented all at once. Far from the traditional manufacturing, Dreamliner design consists of many new features like unique design, one piece fuselage, reduced weight, 20% increase in fuel economy, and reduction in maintenance time. Apart from the changes in design, another major difficulty was the company s global supply chain network. For the first time ever Boeing outsourced two most critical parts fuselage and wings. Everything put together, the complications kept increasing and so is the delay. At least when the plane finally the entered the market years later design came out as expected, and there weren t any sacrifices to the design that had to be made. The plane can hold from 210 250 passengers on routes of 7650 8200 nautical miles and satisfies the fuel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Descriptive Essay On A House In Childhood Driving to Long Prairie, on the right side of the road, up a hill with a long, paved driveway will be a house to the left. This house is two stories with a basement. The first time I saw it, the house had a worn out, light tan vinyl siding with faded, dark red shutters from years of Minnesota weather. At the end of the driveway was a garage that resembled the houses color. To the right of the driveway was a large stone wall that was overrun with wild grape vines. In the middle of the wall was a stairway that leads to an old, rundown playhouse. Also, there was a large, gray brick shed further away. Beyond the house are the woods, littered with pine needles from the rows of trees my grandpa planted when he moved there. The whole area is surrounded by the overpowering smell of pine, and the silence the woods carries; it brings a calming, peaceful sensation to me. As the years have gone on, the house and I have aged, grown, and changed together. Walking up the cracked cement steps, I enter the house through a wood lacquer door. The smell that first hits my nose is the cigarette smoke from Grandpa. Once inside, to my right, is the dining room that is typically filled with food and laughter. During the holidays we gather there and fill our bellies with the food that we have all brought, and stuff ourselves with the sweets that grandma has baked. To the left as I enter the door is the kitchen which is always warm from the oven being used constantly with cooks bustling about like bees. If a turkey or ham was not in the oven, there are cookies or brownies or my personal favorite, rhubarb pie. I would salivate anticipating the sweet, tart taste to hit my lips, and I would devour it with greed. Straight ahead of the entrance is the basement door. The basement steps are simply the wood floor beams that were never completed. The basement was their storage space and where their appliances were such as their water heater, which gave off a soft hum. The basement had the faint smell of vinegar because my grandparents liked to pickle, so they had shelves in the basement cluttered with jars of various things that they pickled. Going back up the stairs and through the kitchen is the carpeted living room. The far side of the room ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Poverty Inequality And The Poverty The rich cause poverty because of the inequality and unfairness they bring. The country is put to blame for the governments and nations decisions. The people themselves can also be put at fault for poverty because of population but, some can not help it. This affects the poverty threshold, the people, and the number of people in poverty. Poverty can be solved with the help of organizations, the government or the president, and happy volunteers who would be willing to do a lot for these people. Poverty is a well known problem and has been around for centuries. First off, One cause for poverty is the Rich. The rich bring inequality to the poor. The wealth difference between upper class and lower class is at its widest point. In most nations today, inequality the gap between the rich and the poor is quite high and often widening ( Cause of ). Shows that while the rich are seeing their wealth grow, the middle and lower classes are seeing financial decline. The distribution of wealth and income reveals inequalities among countries. Inequality in the distribution of money income causes poverty (Davis 23). The distribution of wealth compares all the assets held by the richest and poorest members of society. Tanzania is the largest of the East African countries and one of the poorest countries in the world. During the twentieth century, the gap between the income of the richest and the poorest countries grew substantially, for example, in 2006, the average U.S. citizen was ...
