The Movement Of Fight For Urban Land Reform
The Movimento de Luta nos Bairros, Vilas e Favelas MLB (Movement of Fight in Communities, Vilas
and Favelas, loosely translated), is a Brazilian social movement that fights for urban land reform and
for the human right of decent living conditions. Thousands of families throughout the whole country
make up the movement, most of them victims of the land and propriety speculation predatory action.
They are gathered in a way much alike what Sidney Tarrow described as a social movement, having a
set up of collective challenges by people with common purposes and solidarity in sustained interaction
with elites, opponents and authorities (Tarrow, 1998).
Successive governments in Brazilian history have been ruling the county solely for the rich. During
the last centuries most part of governmental assistance was directed to owners of big industries, great
landowners and, more recently, bankers and financial speculators, and despite Brazil being rich in
natural resources, the majority of Brazilian society is poor and 11% of the population still lives under
the poverty line (Databank.worldbank.org, 2011). Nowadays, more than 7 million families are denied
access to decent housing and about half of the population is not served with basic sanitation.
According to the UN, by 2020, 55 million people will be living in favelas in Brazil (UN, 2012).
MLB then proposes the urban land reform as a way to tackle this issue, an instrument part of a bigger
picture, that has to be used by the

Essay on The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima
In The Sound of Waves, Yukio Mishima creates an exquisite story which has strong idealistic and
mythic features. Although Mishima writes of young love and tranquility in The Sound of Waves, his
later works are categorized as aggressive and containing violent sexual actions. Even Mishima himself
referred to The Sound of Waves as that great joke on the public (qtd. in Ishiguro 385). However, one
cannot compare this novel to Mishima s other literary pieces; in order to classify it as romanticized,
one must evaluate the usage of imagery, an idealized setting, mythical allusions, and characterizations
which establish the romantic driven qualities in The Sound of Waves. It is apparent that nature plays a
major role throughout The Sound of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mythical allusions described by Mishima serve to highlight the other qualities within The Sound of
Waves. When Shinji first catches sight of Hatsue, she is letting her hair stream and her cheeks glow
(7). These characteristics are shown many times throughout the novel and resemble Vergil s depictions
of goddesses such as Venus and Juno in the Aeneid. One conflict that Hatsue must overcome is when
Yasuo attempts to rape her; his plot was obstructed by the intervention of a furious hornet. Hatsue sees
the flashing of the little golden colored wings and wonders what god it [is] who [has] come to her
rescue. (93).The interference of the hornet seems far fetched, for most would think that the hornet
would not only attack Yasuo, but also Hatsue. In this case, Mishima created an idealized situation
were nature as saved Hatsue from the immoral actions of Yasuo. The setting of the island Uta jima is
idealized, which creates a place where the romance between Hatsue and Shinji can seem realistic. The
reader begins the novel with a description of this island and two spots with surpassingly beautiful
views. (3).After this, the reader is introduced to a young man, Shinji, climbing up the stairs of the
lighthouse. Mishima depicts this area as one of the most beautiful views on the island. The

“the First World War Did Not Arise Primarily as a Result...
The First World War did not arise primarily as a result of planned German aggression How far do you
agree with this opinion?
Explain your answer, using sources 1, 2 and 3 and your own knowledge of the issues related to this
controversy.
There has been some controversy as to what or who was to blame for the outbreak of the First World
War. Some people have taken the opinion that the war arose as a result of planned German aggression
such as sources two and three, whereas source one is of the opinion that the Germans went to war with
defensive intentions and that they didn t have any special plan to dominate Europe .
It can be argued that the Schlieffen Plan was openly rigid and brittle which meant that the Germans
had no choice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, I know from my own knowledge that the German s invented the Schlieffen Plan, a German
battle plan that was made many years prior to 1914 as a way to prevent a war on two fronts, implying
that they would be at war at some point. This shows aggressive intent and would contradict the views
of source 1 and the statement above, and yet agree with those of source two.
Furthermore source 3 presents the idea that there was inevitability and necessity for war, thus showing
us that Germany was indeed preparing for this and doing so through their aggressive nature. As well
as this, the war was also influenced by other ideas presented by this source, for example: the recovery
by France of Alsace Lorraine and the securing for Russia of Constantinople and the Straits. This
would contradict the points that were earlier made about German s aggression shining through and
would in fact suggest to us that they had no other alternative but to try and take back what the believed
to be theirs. In addition to this, there was indeed another big factor in the beginning of war which is
presented by source 3, and that was the British concern that the coast of Belgium should not be
occupied by a hostile power . Once again we could interpret this is two ways, one being that it was the
British that then made the first move regarding the outbreak of war because of this reason which
would therefore

What Impact Did The Roman Slaves Have On The Economy
Slaves and the Economy Rome s economy was Ancient Rome was an agrarian and slave based
(UNRV., n.d.) meaning that the bulk of the economy was built up of agriculture and slaves. Romans
relied on slaves for household chores, to work in the mines, to take care of livestock, work in the
fields, and for entertainment purposes (Cartwright, M., 2013, November 1). Slaves made up the
majority of the workforce and were one third of the population (Kamm, A., n.d). Agricultural Slavery.
Slavery had its greatest impact on the Roman economy in the agricultural sector (UNRV., n.d.). Slave
labour was cheaper and easily replaceable. They could work long hours with very little food or water.

repercussions. Slaves were cheap, replaceable, and readily available. ... Show more content on

marketplaces, and slave markets were not uncommon. These slave markets could process a large
number of slaves a day. The slave market at Delos was said to process 10,000 slaves in one day

Discover the Intricacies of Agoraphobia Essay
Among the many diseases in this world, some of the most interesting and least understood are
illnesses of the mind. One aliment in particular, Agoraphobia, is of particular interest to me as it
affects many of my family members in ways both subtle and drastic, and I cannot help but wonder if I
too will fall victim to it. I know from previous knowledge that this particular ailment is a mental one,
though I have witnessed it causing drastic physical symptoms, and that it generally involves a fear of
leaving home for an open, public place. Through research, I aim to find the cause of agoraphobia,
including anything that predisposes one to it, and treatments for it, including both medications and
therapy. I would also like to know just how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aside from written, digital sources, it was required of me to conduct an interview for this assignment,
something that I at first was weary of, but was ultimately glad I did. I first had to decide on to whom
to interview, and I did so by first asking myself what I wanted to know more from a real person, and
what would be easier to find out from a real person. This essentially boiled down to talking to either a
doctor about treatment or a patient about how the disease is truly experienced. Eventually I chose to
do the later, because finding medical papers was relatively easy, but finding out the real difficulties of
the disease was something that was too personal for most scientific sources. I chose to interview my
aunt, Linda Pistole, as she out of all of my family had the worst case of agoraphobia, and contacted
her through a simple phone call. She agreed to the interview and arranged to answer my questions
over lunch at her house the next day. I conducted the interview rather cautiously, as I knew it was a
difficult topic, so gentleness was key. Tape recording was out of the question during the interview so I
took notes instead, and knew that I could always call again if I managed to forget something
important. Overall, I felt that the interview went better than I expected. The information I received had
detail, but not bloated with technical jargon as most formal sources are, and I found it to be quiet
useful. It illustrated well

CONFLICT SYSTEM THEORY
What is Conflict?
Conflicts are generally defined as relational disputes between two or more parties, in which those
involved perceive a threat to their interests coming from those on the other side of the disagreement.
While this can describe a variety of conflict, it does not explain the full range of possibilities with this
term. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We should also consider that when relationships are close and intense, triangles can form and bring in
another person to hold the low power position. Triangles can begin to interlock as more and more
people become involved and it can lead to destructive behavior (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). If we
consider the new parents from the previous paragraph, the father may confide in his mother which
brings in a third party. She may confide in her husband or friend, and that person may confide in
another person.
Just as people develop individual characteristics, an entire system can also develop its own
characteristics (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). In the systems theory analyses attention should be focused
on the relationships instead of the individual characteristics. The conflict and the way the parties act
within it can be different depending on the relational type of the individuals involved. A complete
assessment of a conflict can help the parties bring in new rules, understand and acknowledge micro
events, and have difficult conversations.
Rules used in the context of a conflict means the underlying communication structure of the
interaction (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). Generally no one person makes the rules. If the new parents
know each other s backgrounds well, they will know what is and is not acceptable to say during an
argument (whether or not they follow

Evolution Of A Evolutionary Theory
Evolution is descent with modification, a phrase Darwin used in proposing the at Earth s many species
are descendants of ancestral species that were different The power of evolution as a unifying theory is
its ability to explain and connect a vast array of observations about the living world. Aristotle believed
that life forms could be arranged on a scale of increasing complexity. Each form of life, perfect and
permanent, had its allotted space. Darwin argued that classification should be based on evolutionary
relationships Darwin used fossils, the remains or traces of organisms from the past, to study and
observe change over time. Paleontology is the study of these fossils Darwin said that if geologic
change results from slow, continuous actions rather than from sudden events, then the Earth must be
much older than what was previously thought. Lamarck used two main principles already accepted to
prove his evolutionary theory. The first was use and disuse, the idea that parts of the body that are
used extensively become larger and stronger. The other was inheritance of acquired characteristics,
which stated that an organism could pass these modifications to its offspring. Lamarck s idea that
organisms have an innate drive to become more complex was rejected by Darwin. Darwin reasoned
that over a long time, descent with modification eventually led to the rich diversity we see today.

Cultural Litivism Vs. Ethical Relativism
The topic of my paper is Cultural Relativism vs. Ethical Relativism.
The purpose of this paper is to justify the intervening in another country because of cultural practices
we believe are unethical. Relativism is actually the concept, which tells that when it comes to a
viewpoint there is no complete or impartial truth. Rather, the truth contains subjectivity, which is
related to specific perceiving behavior. Cultural relativism and ethical relativism both are the
philosophies that are connected to relativism in some way or other. In order to make the difference
between cultural relativism and ethical relativism, it is important to understand the word ethics that
defines the whole morality study. Ethics is basically the branch of philosophy that tries to interpret
those things and actions, which seem morally right and are universally acceptable. Ethics is basically
the criteria, which we set about what is right for other people and also for the society as well. The
principles of ethics are usually derived from cultural, philosophical and religious values. Decisions
about what is ethically right or wrong have altered over time to time. Ethics also permits the
examination of moral standards within a society, permitting questions to whether they are reasonable
or unreasonable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

immoral while in another culture they may seem as moral. Fundamentally, the cultural relativism is
the opinion that morality and ethics are culture dependent. There is huge diversity found between what
is right or wrong among different cultural activities which ultimately originated the cultural relativism
concept around the whole world. This term is widely accepted by all

I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud Essay
I wandered lonely as a cloud is a poem written by William Wordsworth which is known as daffodils. It
was published in 1815 with a new revision after realizing there were words that needed to be changed
in Poet in Two Volumes edition (Abishek, 2013). This poem is one of the examples of romantic era. I
love this poem because the content is related to nature. It is true with the statement from Xiaolin
Huang, Feifei Pei, and Changle Fu (2014) that William Wordsworth often called himself as A
Worshiper of Nature so everyone called him as a poet of nature. He thought that nature could
illuminate the kind heartedness and universal brotherhood of human being, and only present in
harmony with the nature where human could get the truly happiness. ... Show more content on

The first stanza tells that the poet was wandering alone to a place whereby yellow daffodils flies over
the hills and valleys with the wind flow. These daffodils grew under the trees and were close to the
lake. The breeze made these daffodils easily fluttering like they were happily dancing. While in the
second stanza, the poet saw these flowers shining and twinkling brightly like stars in the Milky Way.
They spread over a large area along the bay margin with a huge quantity. Moreover, in the third
stanza, the poet tells that both of lake and daffodils were also dancing. He shows that the daffodils
looked beautiful rather than the sparkling of the lake because the daffodils have more glee. Here he
shows the loneliness gradually turning into happiness because of his companions (lake and daffodils)
but he could not understand what he gained from his experience. For final stanza, it tells that
whenever the poet felt loneliness, he could remember the happiness when he saw the dancing
daffodils. In addition, we can take a look at the use of past tense along the poem which tells about the
poet s experience and the use of present tense is used only in the last stanza since the important
message of this poem is about the reflection of the poet s

Salem Witch Trials Paranoia Essay
In the 1680 s and 1690 s there was mass hysteria in New England over supposed witchcraft. The most
famous outbreak was in Salem, Massachusetts, hence the name Salem Witch Trials. In Salem, there
were young girls who started acting strangely, and they leveled accusations of witchcraft against some
of the West Indian servants who were immersed in voodoo tradition. Most of the accusations were
against women, and soon the accusations started to shift to the substantial and prominent women.
Neighbors accused other neighbors, husbands accused their wives, etc. and it kept going on for a
while. There was this nature of evil and the trials didn t end until nineteen Salem residents were put to

The nature of evil was spread by Satan and the people that followed, which were witches. Acts of
witchcraft was one of the greatest crimes a person could commit, that is punishable by death.
When the group of girls were acting strange and got accused of being witches, everyone started
pointing fingers. There was the paranoia that any person could be a part of a conspiracy that was
created by the devil caused false accusations to be spread around. This paranoia was used to make
false accusations on many innocent citizens because people were trying not to take the focus away
from themselves. There was research that was done on those that were accused and what it showed
was that most of the accusations were against middle age women who had few or no children and
were widowed. The accused witches were of low social position, and because of some domestic
conflicts, they were accused of other crimes and were considered abrasive (Brinkley, 86). by other
people around them. Once a person was accused of being under the influence of the devil, which is a

Personal Power Research Paper
Sources of Power in my Life
Experience is a key to knowledge. It is a type of power one can simply acquire by observing,
encountering, or either undergoing an event. It is a type of power that I have used throughout my life.
Expert power. The process of experiencing is when one obtains a skill or a piece of knowledge from
an event in their life which can later be utilized in their life. As we gain experience, we become
experts in a specific role to which we can help others meet their goals. Experience doesn t just mean
being someone for an extended period of time, it could mean having to go through struggles in their
life or just by making a small mistake that they have been through already. Experience is something

We have freedom of speech so therefore, we have the rights to fight for ourselves using personal
power. We handle our emotions and feelings through emotional intelligence that we develop as we
grow up. As a matter of fact, this type of power is actually more innovative than other forms of power
because it comes from our own energy. People use personal power as an advantage such as possessing
good traits and characteristics to influence and lead others and gain their trust. For example, we would
want to vote for a president who has the most personal power. This power is a combination of coercive
and empowerment. It s empowerment because it comes from our own energy and coercive because we
have the ability to persuade others using personal power.
Comparatively, positional power also has a great significance use in our daily lives. Police officers,
lawyers, teachers, parents, managers and even just a normal person has some sort of positional power.
This common power is specified as having authority and influence over another person. A person with
positional power is coercive, which means they have power over others. For example, parents can
make their children do something that they don t want to do since the child wouldn t have any choice.
A police officer can also use their title as an advantage to have authority over us which means if we
disobey them, there will be consequences, simply because of their positional power. The difference

Lucy, the youngest, finds an enormous wardrobe. Lucy steps inside and finds herself in a strange,

Tumnus explains that he has been enlisted to capture human beings. Lucy implores Tumnus to release
her, and he agrees.

concludes with a proposal for understanding and organizing the participation of dependent people in
medical experiments.
The U.S. Discussion Ever since the revelation of the atrocious Nazi medical experiments, informed
consent has been the standard for protecting individuals from exploitation in scientific experiments.
As the tribunal at Nuremberg put it:
The voluntary consent of the human subject is essential. This means that the person involved should
have the legal capacity to give consent; should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of
choice, without the intervention of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching or other ulterior form of
constraint or coercion; and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the subject matter
involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. (1948)

participation may be measured. In the U.S. discussion, various intellectual devices were used to

Similarities and differences between a manager, a business owner and an entrepreneur By Henry
Amm
Introduction
The public perception of entrepreneurs today is almost legendary. They seem to seamlessly start up
small businesses and make them grow and develop themselves almost overnight to big successes.
(Beaver, 2005) This essay will briefly cover the differences and similarities between managers,
business owners and entrepreneurs.

Therefore he often runs a lifestyle firm that is based on trade or craft which, however, will not grow to
any considerable size. The entrepreneur in turn is opportunistic, innovative, self confident and acts
proactive and decisive. He is highly self motivated by his vision and is therefore willing to take even
greater risks and can live with a high uncertainty. That is why the entrepreneur has a growth firm and
is pursuing growth and personal wealth. Lastly the manager is administrating, or in other words
managing, an entity that does not belong to him. His purpose is to build up the organisation, by means
that are similar to larger firms. (Burns, 2007) However there are some exceptions from that
generalization: An owner manager of course can have a growing business, while an entrepreneur could
manage a business he owns together with a business associate and therefore has not complete control
over the capital. (Burns, 2007) As Fraja (1996) suggests every firm can be assigned to either one of
the following types: Either it is an entrepreneurial firm, where the owner manager or entrepreneur is in
exclusive control, organizes production, borrows funds and retains any residual returns from his work.
Or it is a managerial firm, where the individual that has the right to residual returns remains outside
the company and the individual that has the

A. Collectively there are four major pieces of legislation that make us the Antitrust Laws: The
Sherman Act of 1890, the Clayton Act of 1914, the Federal Trade Commission act of 1914 and the
Celler Kefauver Act of 1950. The purpose of these acts and laws is to regulate trade and commerce by

I Am I m Scared
Mom, I m scared, trembled Juliana.
Of what? Mom retorted.
Of what? Of dying! the eldest sister shrieked. My other sister and I glanced at each other, too scared to
complain at that point. We were sitting at a wobbly picnic table, the surface of it almost as smooth as
marble because of the years of use, stuck in a room full of people bouncing their leg up and down with
sweat dribbling down their forehead while trying to sign the liability paper stating that death could
occur.
After you have signed the liability document, return it to the desk and head to the life jacket shack, a
counselor announced. Shack was an understatement. It consisted of well over two hundred jackets on
each wall and a man to aid in fitting them to each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We finally made it to the rickety rocky shore where we were supposed to put the boats in and float to
our inevitable death. My mom, sisters and I got assigned to a boat with another woman and her two
daughters.
Hi ladies, everyone here calls me McFly and man am I lucky to be on this boat today, our instructor
gawked at my mom and sisters, under the assumption that he was being flattering. He s already
annoying, bye bye McFly, I thought to myself.
Alright, purty ladies. First, let s start off with how to row, and what to do if you fall outta the boat,
McFly snickered. With those random tidbits of knowledge, we were off. Our boat led the others, since
McFly was the main instructor, which made me feel safe until he mentioned how he loved working at
ACE Adventure camp because he got to drink and party all weekend with his counselor buddies. After
that, my stomach flipped at just the mere sight of white water.
Whoosh! The water grumbled as it got swallowed by its own current wrapping around the rocks. Here
we go! McFly yelled over the powerful current. Everyone began to row their hearts out, putting so
much focus into making a rhythm like a beautiful orchestra. I drilled into my brain, rowing is vital,
vital to staying afloat, vital to staying alive. Our boat swiftly guided itself as the current carried it
through the rapids. First drop down, one to go.
Before the biggest wave, we drifted through the calm part of the river where Mcfly gave us a

A Character Analysis Of Flipped
Have you ever met a person like Bryce Loski? If you have, I feel bad for you. Well sure everybody in
Flipped has a different mindset, but no one has a mindset like Bryce. In Flipped, by Wendelin Van
Draanen, the character Bryce has a fixed mindset. He is basically a jerk, just like his FATHER. If you
want to say he has a growth mindset, you should read Flipped again. What can I say about Bryce
Loski and his mindset? Oh Boy!! I can say a lot alright. In the beginning of Flipped, Bryce hasn t even
met Juli yet and he already called her mud monkey. The text says on page 3, I couldn t believe it!
There I was holding Mud Monkey s hand! He only said that because he saw her muddy feet, and that
was the first thing he saw that was on her. When

risks and developing an internal accounting system is infeasible to small enterprises in respect of costs

Thus, there are few outside threats to accounting software in terms of substitute products at the
present.
1.5 Intensity of rivalry among competitors
Intensive rivalries are common in industries with many equally balanced companies. According to the
research of accounting software, there are at least 20 free and open source software and 60 proprietary
accounting software in worldwide, which means more firms have to compete for the same customers.
Top Ten Reviews website illustrates top rated accounting software of 2013. Xero ranks ninth overall

rivalry is based are not only price, but also switching costs. Low switching costs (i.e. low levels of
product differentiation) is another significant factor associated with higher levels of rivalry. Buyers
frequently purchase the product or service loyally when they find a unique product that satisfies their
needs. Although Xero intends to differentiate itself from others by providing related services, focusing

Olympe De Gouges
Olympe de Gouges
Marie Gouze was born in Montauban, France, in 1748. In this butcher s daughter s lifetime, she would
grow from a social maverick, to political renovator, to a martyr. She of was the first to emphasize
feminism and the injustice of slavery, mostly through her writing. (Woolfrey) She is an often forgotten
figure of the French Revolution.
After the death of her husband, Marie Gouze took on a new identity in an effort to avoid judgement.
She took her son to Paris with her where she would continue developing her education and diplomatic
knowledge for the next ten years. Once she began to write, she was often condemned for her flawed
French and being a female writer. In this period of time, women were often referred to as objects, and
according to society, their only purpose was to reproduce and serve men. de Gouges made it her
mission to challenge, find fault in, and untie the laces of injustice that her generation had wound
together. However, the leaders during Olympe de Gouges s time had no sympathy for women. (Cook)
As a playwright, de Gouges used her writing to address social issues around her. Along with slavery
and women s rights, she was also outspoken on subjects like marriage, divorce, freedom of speech.
Her most famous writing, and arguably (along with her favor toward the monarchy) what sent her to
the guillotine, was the Declaration of the Rights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Cloning A Horse
Ever since the first cloned animal, Dolly the sheep, in 1996 the argument has arose that if cloning a
human is appropriate. Not only is there an argument for human cloning but, in the past couple years
there has been many debates on whether it is right or wrong to clone a horse. Cloning refers to the
process of creating genetically similar organisms or the production of organisms that are genetically
identical through the transfer of somatic cells of an existing organism and transferring it to an oocyte
where the nucleus has been extracted. To clone a horse means using the DNA from a donor horse to
produce a genetically identical foal. Thus, the question is asked why would someone need to clone a
horse? When there is a horse that shows exceptional talent, in particularly a gelding, cloning allows
the horses DNA and look to be accessible in the form of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although the stallion may never need to compete but can serve as a stud and then pass on the DNA of
the original horse. However, there has been many debates on whether cloning is morally correct or is
healthy for the new horse, but equally as important to the equine industry is the current debate over the
fact that cloned horses are not allowed to be registered in the American Quarter Horse Association
(AQHA) database. To some horse owners or buyers registration of a horse is highly important,
because it adds value to a horse and it s important for breeding purposes. Also registration is important
for the use of tracking a horse, wether it is to track the age of the horse, to gain knowledge of the horse
s relatives or their performance history. Although this all depends on personal preference. If a horse is
not registered that does not mean the horse is worthless or untalented, this just means that the horse
can not participate in AQHA horse shows, which are very prestigious. However, the the opposing
sides argument is that by allowing the clones in the breeding register will

Cause And Effect Of The Pregnancy Rate During The First...
According to The March of Dimes (2016) miscarriage, particularly in the first trimester, has an overall
estimated incidence of 10 to 15%. However, the number could be as high as 50% when taking into
account pregnancies which had not yet been discovered (March of Dimes,
2016). Concern regarding miscarriage is universal yet in women taking an antidepressant this concern
increases as researchers have theorized that its use may increase the potential for spontaneous
abortion. Two large scale studies by Andersen et al., (2014) and Kjaersgaard et al., (2013) documented
increased miscarriage rates although a direct correlation between SSRI use and spontaneous abortion
was not identified. These two prospective studies combined evaluated ... Show more content on

So while increased miscarriage rates have been documented in the research, the authors conclusions
directed implication away from SSRI use and focused rather on other possible causative factors.
PREGNANCY, SSRI USE AND NEONATAL OUTCOMES 8
SSRIs do not seem to be implicated in spontaneous abortion and their role in stillbirth and
postneonatal mortality follows similar lines. The increase in both stillbirth and postneonatal
mortality found in the studies by Andersen et al., (2014), Jimenez Solem et al., ( 2013) Stephansson et
al., (2013) are likely attributed to severity of disease and comorbidity factors such as increased
tobacco and alcohol use, elevated BMI, and or higher maternal age. None of these studies concluded
that SSRI use was a causative factor, but rather focused on depression and the common health risks
which often accompany the diagnosis. Overall, review of the current literature finds no direct causal
relationship between SSRI use and miscarriage, stillbirth or postneonatal mortality (Andersen et al.,
Jimenez Solem et al., 2013, Kjaersgaard et al., 2013 Stephansson et al., 2013). This does not eliminate
an indirect causal relationship from malformations such as persistent pulmonary hypertension,
anencephaly, craniosynostosis, or omphalocele.

The Kite Runner American Dream Analysis
This passage educates the reader thoroughly about Amir and his affection for his past life childhood
experiences in Afghanistan, thus clearly reflecting the theme American Dream . This is evident as the
reader is clearly able to envision Amir`s attatchment to Afghanistan as he experiences a reminisence of
the past. This indicates Amir definetly had a difficult time in making a decision of departing from
Afghanistan as it would imply as if he erased a part of him. Prior to the remembrance of the past, Amir
has an inner feeling as if he does not truly belong in Afghanistan. Nevertheless, Farid insults Amir
through referring to him as a imposter of Afghanistan as he posseses the facilities an American man

According to this, Amir realizes he did not leave Afghanistan for the American Dream , he was
already a holder of the American Dream , even though at that time period he did not live in America.
Leading up to this, Amir feels as if he had been long gone enough to forget and be forgotten(Hosseini
253). Thus, a tender cool feeling under his bare feet touching the soil of his land creates a feeling as if
he has returned to experience the highlights of his life. Although the existence of Kabul is unknown,
but Amir`s inner thoughts believe that maybe, just maybe Kabul does exist somewhere in the yonder.
Even though Amir had a slight thought that he took part in the betrayal of Hassan his own illegitamate
brother unknowingly, but also violated their friendship. He still does not forget the cherished moments
they both shared in Kabul. But the recurring thought ot of the blindfolded man from my dream had
died a needless death, (Hosseini 253) had brought him to make a decision. However, Amir knows his
intentions for the choice that had landed him right back to depart from his American Dream to land

  • 2. The Movement Of Fight For Urban Land Reform The Movimento de Luta nos Bairros, Vilas e Favelas MLB (Movement of Fight in Communities, Vilas and Favelas, loosely translated), is a Brazilian social movement that fights for urban land reform and for the human right of decent living conditions. Thousands of families throughout the whole country make up the movement, most of them victims of the land and propriety speculation predatory action. They are gathered in a way much alike what Sidney Tarrow described as a social movement, having a set up of collective challenges by people with common purposes and solidarity in sustained interaction with elites, opponents and authorities (Tarrow, 1998). Successive governments in Brazilian history have been ruling the county solely for the rich. During the last centuries most part of governmental assistance was directed to owners of big industries, great landowners and, more recently, bankers and financial speculators, and despite Brazil being rich in natural resources, the majority of Brazilian society is poor and 11% of the population still lives under the poverty line (Databank.worldbank.org, 2011). Nowadays, more than 7 million families are denied access to decent housing and about half of the population is not served with basic sanitation. According to the UN, by 2020, 55 million people will be living in favelas in Brazil (UN, 2012). MLB then proposes the urban land reform as a way to tackle this issue, an instrument part of a bigger picture, that has to be used by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima In The Sound of Waves, Yukio Mishima creates an exquisite story which has strong idealistic and mythic features. Although Mishima writes of young love and tranquility in The Sound of Waves, his later works are categorized as aggressive and containing violent sexual actions. Even Mishima himself referred to The Sound of Waves as that great joke on the public (qtd. in Ishiguro 385). However, one cannot compare this novel to Mishima s other literary pieces; in order to classify it as romanticized, one must evaluate the usage of imagery, an idealized setting, mythical allusions, and characterizations which establish the romantic driven qualities in The Sound of Waves. It is apparent that nature plays a major role throughout The Sound of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mythical allusions described by Mishima serve to highlight the other qualities within The Sound of Waves. When Shinji first catches sight of Hatsue, she is letting her hair stream and her cheeks glow (7). These characteristics are shown many times throughout the novel and resemble Vergil s depictions of goddesses such as Venus and Juno in the Aeneid. One conflict that Hatsue must overcome is when Yasuo attempts to rape her; his plot was obstructed by the intervention of a furious hornet. Hatsue sees the flashing of the little golden colored wings and wonders what god it [is] who [has] come to her rescue. (93).The interference of the hornet seems far fetched, for most would think that the hornet would not only attack Yasuo, but also Hatsue. In this case, Mishima created an idealized situation were nature as saved Hatsue from the immoral actions of Yasuo. The setting of the island Uta jima is idealized, which creates a place where the romance between Hatsue and Shinji can seem realistic. The reader begins the novel with a description of this island and two spots with surpassingly beautiful views. (3).After this, the reader is introduced to a young man, Shinji, climbing up the stairs of the lighthouse. Mishima depicts this area as one of the most beautiful views on the island. The ... • 4. “the First World War Did Not Arise Primarily as a Result... The First World War did not arise primarily as a result of planned German aggression How far do you agree with this opinion? Explain your answer, using sources 1, 2 and 3 and your own knowledge of the issues related to this controversy. There has been some controversy as to what or who was to blame for the outbreak of the First World War. Some people have taken the opinion that the war arose as a result of planned German aggression such as sources two and three, whereas source one is of the opinion that the Germans went to war with defensive intentions and that they didn t have any special plan to dominate Europe . It can be argued that the Schlieffen Plan was openly rigid and brittle which meant that the Germans had no choice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, I know from my own knowledge that the German s invented the Schlieffen Plan, a German battle plan that was made many years prior to 1914 as a way to prevent a war on two fronts, implying that they would be at war at some point. This shows aggressive intent and would contradict the views of source 1 and the statement above, and yet agree with those of source two. Furthermore source 3 presents the idea that there was inevitability and necessity for war, thus showing us that Germany was indeed preparing for this and doing so through their aggressive nature. As well as this, the war was also influenced by other ideas presented by this source, for example: the recovery by France of Alsace Lorraine and the securing for Russia of Constantinople and the Straits. This would contradict the points that were earlier made about German s aggression shining through and would in fact suggest to us that they had no other alternative but to try and take back what the believed to be theirs. In addition to this, there was indeed another big factor in the beginning of war which is presented by source 3, and that was the British concern that the coast of Belgium should not be occupied by a hostile power . Once again we could interpret this is two ways, one being that it was the British that then made the first move regarding the outbreak of war because of this reason which would therefore ... What Impact Did The Roman Slaves Have On The Economy Slaves and the Economy Rome s economy was Ancient Rome was an agrarian and slave based (UNRV., n.d.) meaning that the bulk of the economy was built up of agriculture and slaves. • 8. Discover the Intricacies of Agoraphobia Essay Among the many diseases in this world, some of the most interesting and least understood are illnesses of the mind. One aliment in particular, Agoraphobia, is of particular interest to me as it affects many of my family members in ways both subtle and drastic, and I cannot help but wonder if I too will fall victim to it. I know from previous knowledge that this particular ailment is a mental one, though I have witnessed it causing drastic physical symptoms, and that it generally involves a fear of leaving home for an open, public place. Through research, I aim to find the cause of agoraphobia, including anything that predisposes one to it, and treatments for it, including both medications and therapy. I would also like to know just how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aside from written, digital sources, it was required of me to conduct an interview for this assignment, something that I at first was weary of, but was ultimately glad I did. I first had to decide on to whom to interview, and I did so by first asking myself what I wanted to know more from a real person, and what would be easier to find out from a real person. This essentially boiled down to talking to either a doctor about treatment or a patient about how the disease is truly experienced. Eventually I chose to do the later, because finding medical papers was relatively easy, but finding out the real difficulties of the disease was something that was too personal for most scientific sources. I chose to interview my aunt, Linda Pistole, as she out of all of my family had the worst case of agoraphobia, and contacted her through a simple phone call. She agreed to the interview and arranged to answer my questions over lunch at her house the next day. I conducted the interview rather cautiously, as I knew it was a difficult topic, so gentleness was key. Tape recording was out of the question during the interview so I took notes instead, and knew that I could always call again if I managed to forget something important. Overall, I felt that the interview went better than I expected. The information I received had detail, but not bloated with technical jargon as most formal sources are, and I found it to be quiet useful. It illustrated well ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We should also consider that when relationships are close and intense, triangles can form and bring in another person to hold the low power position. Triangles can begin to interlock as more and more people become involved and it can lead to destructive behavior (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). If we consider the new parents from the previous paragraph, the father may confide in his mother which brings in a third party. She may confide in her husband or friend, and that person may confide in another person. Just as people develop individual characteristics, an entire system can also develop its own characteristics (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). In the systems theory analyses attention should be focused on the relationships instead of the individual characteristics. The conflict and the way the parties act within it can be different depending on the relational type of the individuals involved. A complete assessment of a conflict can help the parties bring in new rules, understand and acknowledge micro events, and have difficult conversations. Rules used in the context of a conflict means the underlying communication structure of the interaction (Wilmot and Hocker, 2007). Generally no one person makes the rules. Evolution Of A Evolutionary Theory Evolution is descent with modification, a phrase Darwin used in proposing the at Earth s many species are descendants of ancestral species that were different The power of evolution as a unifying theory is its ability to explain and connect a vast array of observations about the living world. Aristotle believed that life forms could be arranged on a scale of increasing complexity. Each form of life, perfect and permanent, had its allotted space. Darwin argued that classification should be based on evolutionary relationships Darwin used fossils, the remains or traces of organisms from the past, to study and observe change over time. Paleontology is the study of these fossils Darwin said that if geologic change results from slow, continuous actions rather than from sudden events, then the Earth must be much older than what was previously thought. Lamarck used two main principles already accepted to prove his evolutionary theory. The first was use and disuse, the idea that parts of the body that are used extensively become larger and stronger. The other was inheritance of acquired characteristics, which stated that an organism could pass these modifications to its offspring. Lamarck s idea that organisms have an innate drive to become more complex was rejected by Darwin. Darwin reasoned that over a long time, descent with modification eventually led to the rich diversity we see today. The purpose of this paper is to justify the intervening in another country because of cultural practices we believe are unethical. Relativism is actually the concept, which tells that when it comes to a viewpoint there is no complete or impartial truth. Rather, the truth contains subjectivity, which is related to specific perceiving behavior. Cultural relativism and ethical relativism both are the philosophies that are connected to relativism in some way or other. In order to make the difference between cultural relativism and ethical relativism, it is important to understand the word ethics that defines the whole morality study. Ethics is basically the branch of philosophy that tries to interpret those things and actions, which seem morally right and are universally acceptable. Ethics is basically the criteria, which we set about what is right for other people and also for the society as well. It was published in 1815 with a new revision after realizing there were words that needed to be changed in Poet in Two Volumes edition (Abishek, 2013). This poem is one of the examples of romantic era. I love this poem because the content is related to nature. It is true with the statement from Xiaolin Huang, Feifei Pei, and Changle Fu (2014) that William Wordsworth often called himself as A Worshiper of Nature so everyone called him as a poet of nature. He thought that nature could illuminate the kind heartedness and universal brotherhood of human being, and only present in harmony with the nature where human could get the truly happiness. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first stanza tells that the poet was wandering alone to a place whereby yellow daffodils flies over the hills and valleys with the wind flow. These daffodils grew under the trees and were close to the lake. The breeze made these daffodils easily fluttering like they were happily dancing. While in the second stanza, the poet saw these flowers shining and twinkling brightly like stars in the Milky Way. They spread over a large area along the bay margin with a huge quantity. Moreover, in the third stanza, the poet tells that both of lake and daffodils were also dancing. He shows that the daffodils looked beautiful rather than the sparkling of the lake because the daffodils have more glee. Here he shows the loneliness gradually turning into happiness because of his companions (lake and daffodils) but he could not understand what he gained from his experience.
