Child Health and Well Being
Introduction
The purpose of this project is how we can ensure the health and safety of children in a childcare
setting. We have to consider the welfare of every child who will be under our care once we are
working in Childcare. We have to follow some certain guidelines and this project will help me to
outline the requirements necessary to provide for the health and well being of the children, including
their protection and ensuring a safe environment for them. This project will further discuss the Health
and Safety Regulations, some Legislation involved in Childcare and we have to come up with some
policies and procedures.

Childcare Act 1991
The Child Care Act of 1991 was the first piece of Irish legislation to focus on children. It defines a
child as someone who is under 18 years of age (unless they are married). The Act is an extensive piece
of legislation, and it is not within the remit of this text to discuss all aspects of it. For purposes, we
will focus on Part VII of the Act, which defines a pre school child and pre school service.
Pre school child: a child under six years of age who is not attending a national school or school
providing an educational program similar to national school.
Pre school service: any pre school, playgroup, day nursery, crèche, daycare or other similar service
which caters for preschool children. These include sessional, full time and drop in services.
The Child Care Act of 1991 is very important in relation to the protection of children. The Act puts a
legal responsibility on any person charged with the care of any child to act in the child s best interests
this is the most fundamental requirement of every person who works with children with whatever
situation. It is also the primary legislation regulating the childcare policy.
Childcare (Preschool) Regulations 2006
The Childcare (Pre School Services) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 provides for standard of service,
upkeep and care for any setting defined as pre school. The regulations define a pre school child to be
one under the age of six

The Search for Truth in Anton Chekhov s The Cherry...
The scholar is engaged in the interminable quest for truth. The knowledge that one can never
understand everything makes a person wise. Ignorance is the assumption that one can understand all
about the world around them. An ignorant person is so confident they comprehend the truth, that they
are blind to the greater truth. Anton Chekhov and Sophocles deal with the idea of this sinful pride that
leads to ignorance in their respective works, The Cherry Orchard and Oedipus Rex. In each drama,
certain characters are slapped in the face with the truth; the light is revealed. However, these
characters make the connection when it is too late. Their destruction is already destined to become a
reality, a horrid fate that could have been prevented. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The timing of the chorus plea as Oedipus enters the stage clearly demonstrates that Oedipus is the man
whom he seeks, the murderer of the king. The truth of the play is revealed, yet Oedipus remains
ignorant.
Chekhov also makes use of a symbol to represent truth in his play. In The Cherry Orchard, the
Ranevskayas are an aristocratic family that squander away their final days at their beloved cherry
orchard. It shall soon be auctioned off, yet the family merely sits about and engages in meaningless
chatter. They assume that everything shall be taken care of, the way it always has been in their lives.
However, there is one man who seems to be above the careless atmosphere that surrounds him
Lopakhin, the hard working son of generations of peasants. This man of great ambition represents
truth. The truth that Chekhov reveals in the play is the emerging changes in the Russian social
structure. The industrious middle class is on the rise, and the lazy aristocracy is doomed to fade away.
In the end, Lopakhin buys the cherry orchard, which is the estate where [his] father and grandfather
were slaves (Chekhov 366). The cherry orchard was the security, the wealth, and the power of the
aristocracy; it is bought by a merchant, the son of peasants. Could the aristocracy not see what was
happening, or did they choose to remain ignorant? By constructing summer cottages, the Ranevskaya
family could have prevented the loss of the beloved

Advantages And Disadvantages To Traditional Database...
Advantages of Database Management System:
The DBMS has a number of advantages as compared to traditional computer file processing approach.
The DBA must keep in mind these benefits or capabilities during designing databases, coordinating
and monitoring the DBMS.
The major advantages of DBMS are described below.
1. Controlling Data Redundancy:
In non database systems (traditional computer file processing), each application program has its own
files. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the
data of an organization is integrated into a single database. The data is recorded at only one place in
the database and it is not duplicated. For example, the dean s faculty file and the faculty payroll file
contain several items that are identical. When they are converted into database, the data is ... Show

In DBMS, database and application programs are separated from each other. The DBMS sits in
between them. You can easily change the structure of database without modifying the application
program. For example you can modify the size or data type of a data items (fields of a database table).
http://www.basicsofcomputer.com/figure_processing.JPG On the other hand, in computer file based
system, the structure of data items are built into the individual application programs. Thus the data is
dependent on the data file and vice versa.
15. Advanced Capabilities:
DBMS also provides advance capabilities for online access and reporting of data through Internet.
Today, most of the database systems are online. The database technology is used in conjunction with
Internet technology to access data on the web servers.
Disadvantages of Database Management System (DBMS):
Although there are many advantages but the DBMS may also have some minor disadvantages. These
are:

What I Learned With My Mom And My Friend Casey
1 1. Find at least two people who lived through 9/11, and ask them to: a) describe what they remember
I spoke to my Mom and my friend Casey. My mom was three miles away in Manhattan when the first
impact happened. It shook her entire office, on the 78th floor. She immediately called my dad and got
out of the city; took a cab and paid the driver to go straight to Connecticut. She remembered watching
the TV, shocked about what had happened. There was rage, anger, and disbelief. She didn t know what
could posses someone to act in that manner. My friend Casey was living in Tribeca, 4 blocks away
from Ground Zero. He had moved into the city from New London, CT with his eMac and a video
camera to become a filmmaker on September 7th, 2001. The first impact knocked him out of bed and
onto the floor. By the time the second plane struck, he was on his bike, riding out of the city to Grand
Central Terminal. He told me that he remembered being shocked at what could have happened and
why, and how on his first couple days in the city, terror struck. b) explain how 9/11 has impacted their
lives My mom told me that this was her wake up call to get out of the city and come live in
Connecticut because she wanted to be closer to me. My dad retired when I was born, so he was taking
care of me full time, but my mom was sick of getting up at 5 and coming home at 8 in a luxury
construction business that paid well, but gave her no time to live her own

Family guy, a bad influence on children?
Family guy is a dysfunctional family that lives in Quahog, Rhode Island. The parents: Peter and Lois.
The children: the oldest, Meg, the middle child, Chris and the baby is Stewie. Last but not least, the
dog Brian. This TV show exhibits crude, adult humour. There are many different opinions on this
show, many parents are ok with letting there children watch it and other refuse to do so because of the
kind of humour some parents are on edge. So is family guy a negative influence on children? I believe
it does have a negative influence on kids. To start the language they use, secondly the violence and
actions towards each other and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is just a tiny bit of what happens in the show. This show is very negative on children and they
way they will interact with other in public. They also make fun of amputees, this can be very harmful
to the way children interact with other kids that have this kind of problem example Joe is Peter
Griffins neighbour and there is an episode that says no legs no service.
Also, this show is a very sexist show, they always make reference to women being in the kitchen and
that is all they re good at for example, in one episode peter tells Louis that making sandwiches and
babies are the only thing she is good for. This kind of behaviour shows to young children that women
are no good for anything because that is how the men on this show treat the women. There s also lots
of coarse language towards women, for example Quagmire a neighbours always has many women
over to his house for pleasurable reasons and you hear him call them names like whores, bitches, sluts
and more this foul language towards women is another bad influence. Also peter has a teenage
daughter Meg, everyone in the show is mean to her. This girl is treated very badly for example in an
episode she had sexual intercourse with a guy and a little after that the guy Brandon, broke up with
her, in another episode she has another boyfriend Luke and Louis, her mother stole

Young Goodman Brown, The Scarlett Letter, And The House Of...
Young Goodman Brown: Analysis of his faith
Personal experience plays a vital role when authors decide on the certain topics for their stories. A
factor like religion may determine an author s writing style. For example, an author who may have had
a Christian upbringing may write about faith, hell, or salvation; in contrast, one who had a negative
experience with religion as a child, may hint at departing from their family and finding one s own
religion. A well known author from the 1800s, Nathaniel Hawthorne, implements his religious
upbringing in his stories, Young Goodman Brown , The Scarlett Letter , and The House of Seven
Gables. The use of certain thematic elements in Young Goodman Brown help readers understand how
the main character lost his faith and became bitter towards religious people.
In the year 1804, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born to Massachusetts Bay colonists; Nathaniel Hathorne
and Elizabeth Clarke Manning in Salem, Massachusetts. Hawthorne s great grandfather, John
Hathorne, had the role of judging during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692 (Means). ... Show more

Faith is also young like her husband. Faith is portrayed as a sweet, pure hearted, innocent woman who
represented Goodman Brown s belief. Her child like innocence is represented with pink ribbons in her
hair throughout the story. Due to the couple being so young and newlyweds, goodman brown was not
strong in his faith and therefore dependent on Faith, his wife s faith to keep them both accountable
Thus, resulting in his own relationship and faith tested (Boonyaprasop 45). When heading into the
forest for his exhibition, Goodman Brown was hesitant leaving his wife alone in Salem. In contrast,
Faith, his wife, begged him not to go for he may lose his faith. Although Faith was not fully on board
with Goodman Brown leaving, she remains whole and hopes he finds the meaning of the exhibition
and comes back

Iraq Dishes
All around the world there are distinct cultures that have a variety of cuisines and techniques for
preparing them. This paper will discuss in depth two different dishes that come from different regions
and how its sustainability impacts its social cultural resilience. Baghdad, Iraq and Gaza, Palestine both
deal with political and environment factors that impact their dishes, but sustainability in Gaza is less
complex because its dish ingredients are not harm by governmental regulations and its geography
provides a vast range of arable land.
First, in The Gaza Kitchen by Laila El Haddad Maggie Schmitt, they both illustrate different Gaza
dishes that range from simple to elaborate. In this case, the focus is bread, it is not a meal but it is used
to eat dishes or can be simply eaten by itself. Khubz Kmaj is, the standard Palestinian bread eaten with
almost every meal, (H S 100). Bread is an important element in defining Gaza s foodscape because

Taking a Closer Look at Behaviorists Essay
Psychology is a science that focuses primarily on the study of the mind, but it can also be the study of
behavior. Behaviorism is a worldview that assumes a learner is essentially passive, responding to
environmental stimuli. The learner starts off as a clean slate and behavior is shaped through positive
reinforcement or negative reinforcement. Both positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement
increase the probability that the antecedent behavior will happen again. The study of only behavior in
Psychology is called Behaviorism. The Psychologists who study the school of Behaviorism go by the
title of Behaviorists or Behavioral Psychologists. Behaviorists have their own theories and principles
that they follow in their study. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pavlov sounded a bell when a group of dogs were eating. Pavlov continued this action for several
meals. After a while, Pavlov was able to sound the bell without giving the dogs food and the dogs
would salivate. This is because Pavlov conditioned their behavior so that the dogs would salivate at
the sound of the bell. Watson did something very similar with his Little Albert experiment. Watson and
Rosalie Rayner, a graduate student, conducted an experiment called Albert B on a nine month old boy
named Albert. In the Albert B experiment, Watson and Rayner showed Albert many white objects
including a white rabbit. Watson and Rayner gave Albert the white rabbit again, but this time they hit a
metal pipe with a hammer. The loud noise made Albert cry. They continued this process until the sight
of the white rabbit, without the noise of the pipe, made Albert cry. This proved that emotions can be
altered by changing an organism s behavior. John Broadus Watson was born in Greenville, South
Carolina on January 9, 1878. Watson grew up in a horrible home. Watson s father cheated on his
mother, and his terrible home life led him to be a trouble child. When Watson was in school, he would
harass the African American children that went there with him. Watson was also arrested twice for
violent behavior. This is very ironic because Watson was a Behaviorist. Watson attended Furman

In September 1993, Huizenga proposed a $4.7 billion merger with media giant Viacom Inc. The
merger did not prove to be fruitful. By April 1994, Blockbuster s and Viacom s stock had tumbled
dramatically. The failure of the merger caused disdain in the organization, beleaguered for financial
losses and lack of clearly defined leadership, Huizenga eventually stepped down as CEO in 1994.
Over the next few years Steven Berrard, took over as President and took the company on a terrible
trajectory focusing on major expansion. He only lasted for 2 years in the organization and Bill Fields
in March 1996. Fields wanted to transform the image of the organization, but also failed. 1996,
Blockbuster s worth was estimated at $4.6 billion which is half the value it had thirteen years prior.
Blockbuster could not develop a clearly defined path for excellence and the infrastructure was lacking;
this was foretelling of the future. Bhidé discusses that an organization s capacity to execute its strategy
depends on its hard infrastructure its organizational structure and systems and on its soft infrastructure
its culture and norms. (Bhidé, 1999) without stability, the company was poised for long term failure. It
appeared that in Blockbuster s hankering for growth, a strong and strategic organizational
infrastructure was lacking. Blockbuster did not have a stable in structure of leadership and
management to sustain itself. This is most likely the reason that there

The Pros And Cons Of Technology And Science
Inventions and Discoveries
Human lifestyle has recently changed through the inventions and discovery of new technology and
science. Technology and science are closely related hence, the technology uses science to answer
problems, while science uses technology to come up with new discoveries. However, technology and
science target different objectives. The objective of science is to provide an answer to the critical
questions, thus help to increase knowledge while the goal of technology is to find answers to real
problems. Even though they have a different objective, they, however, work together to facilitate each
other to grow. The knowledge posed from science led to the creation of technology like telescope
while the telescope technology led to a microscope that allows researchers to discover nature in a new
era.
According to an article by Rice University, a telescope is one of the dominant instruments of what has
been referred to as the Scientific Revolution. However, according to the article, they believe that
telescope was not the invention of scientists but the product of craftsmen. Rice University argue that
glass were cheap, hence the technology for crushing and polishing glasses had development
extensively allover (Rice University). Hence, the development led to a solution for a condition known
as presbyopia. This condition majorly faced the aging where they were unable to read letters held at a

Attention Deficit-Hyperactive Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), also known as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD),
is a neurodevelopment,1 psychiatric disorder, which is characterized as impairments of the growth and
development of the Central Nervous System particularly the brain.2 An individual diagnosed with
ADD exhibits issues with attention, hyperactivity, impulsive behavior, or a combination of all three. 3
Such symptoms are likely observed between ages 6 12 and must persist for over six months prior to
imposed diagnosis.4 According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, section
4 (DMV IV), currently 12% of the American pediatric and young adult populations suffer from one
form of ADD.5 Despite ADD prevalence, growing incidence, and being the most studied and
diagnosed psychiatric disorder in the pediatric population several unknowns of the complex condition
remain. In North America, potential ADHD cases are confirmed by the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth edition, endorsed by the American Psychiatric Association as a
primary resource. The Manual defines and categorizes ADHD into three subtypes: Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder, predominantly inattentive (ADHD PI),4 and more commonly referred to as
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). This form of ADHD is observed in individuals who are easily
distracted, continuously daydreaming, severely disorganized, poor concentration, and considerable
difficulty finishing tasks.

Importance of Setting in The Blue Hotel Essay
Importance of Setting in Stephen Crane s The Blue Hotel
In The Blue Hotel, Stephen Crane uses various provocative techniques to ensure that the setting adds
to the richness of the story. The Blue Hotel is set in a cold Nebraska town at the Palace Hotel in the
late 1800 s, but there is more to setting than just when and where a story takes place. In a written
work, it is the author s job to vividly depict events in order to keep the reader?s attention and to create
colorful mental images of places, objects, or situations. The story is superbly enhanced through
Crane?s use of setting to develop mood, to create irony, and to make nature foreshadow or imitate
human actions.

Shattered Superiority in the Face of Danger Essays
A superiority complex is an attitude of superiority that often conceals actual feelings of inferiority and
failure. The majority of people who suffer from a superiority complex feel inadequate somewhere
deep inside themselves and as a result, treat others as lesser. They consider themselves to be superior
to those surrounding them and are often condescending, quick to judge, and observant of the flaws of
others. Yet they somehow manage to always overlook their own imperfections. Both Connie, a
teenage girl with an inclination towards independence who is enamored with herself, and

She [knows] she [is] pretty, and that [is] everything to her (Oates 337). Connie compares herself to
others and recognizes those around her as incredibly flawed. She is quick to judge people she comes
in contact with for their imperfections. For example, the first thought of Connie s sister that pops up
into her head is that she is plain and chunky and steady, and that was why Connie had to hear her
praised all of the time (Oates 337) Connie is hasty to point out her sister s vices, and does not even
consider that her sister might be praised because she is deserving of praise. Connie regards herself as
better than her sister, so she constructs an excuse as to why her sister receives praise rather than
Connie. It s ironic that Connie conceals her weaknesses from herself, yet this superiority complex is a
weakness in and of itself. Arnold Friend recognizes Connie s ravenous need to feel superior, and he
exploits this by feeding her a false sense of superiority by informing Connie that she s better than [her
family] because not one of them would have [sacrificed themselves] for [her] (Oates 353). Through
Grandmother s skewed definition of a good person, she deceives herself into trusting in the false
notion that she is above others. Due to the fact that she is a lady, a title that means everything to her,
Grandmother feels superior to those around her and considers herself to have moral authority and
advantages over others. Grandmother goes out of her way to

The Civil Rights Movement During The 1960 s
Sometimes a single issue can cause a rift between a political party and its members. Due in large part
to this Civil Rights movement during the 1960s, there was a switch in the Democratic and Republican
parties in terms of region and race of the parties supporting coalitions.
Race in America was a substantial motivating factor for the switch in political party identification
during the 1960s. Liberal Democrats in the north wanted their party to improve civil rights for black
Americans, and this caused Democratic party members to take advantage of their position on strong
federal power to increase equality on a national scale. While this was happening, white Americans
who opposed the Civil Rights movement turned to Republican candidates who

Use of DSM 5 and Class Material Criteria on Diagnostic Categories Exhibited in the Case Study
Based on both the DSM 5 and the class material criteria, Kimmy s diagnosis of Asperger syndrome

headings, specifically in a social interaction, stereotyped, restrictive, and repetitive patterns of
interests, behavior, and activities. The disturbance may have been caused by clinically essential
impairments in occupational or social areas of the functioning. Sperry (2001) noted that there is no

The criteria used for eligibility were met for the diagnosis of Kimmy s Asperger syndrome, the

Out of necessity this also includes other human persons and human community. The Pope s
understanding of personalism found its practical application in his ethics: the indispensable role of
freedom, the fulfillment of freedom in the loving gift of self to others and the effect that moral choices
have on the person who makes them. These few attributes were the ones that made him the person he
was. It all came from the love he has received from his closest family, his brother and parents, of
whom all three have died by the time he was 22 years old. Personalism is so central to Karol Wojtyla s
internal psychological and spiritual structure, that it overflows into his theology. An example of that is
his divine revelation as the personal messenger of God to all people. This also ties in with the
quintessential congregation of two personal realities, one of which is human and one divine. It also
covers various aspects of the religious freedom of the human person, social ethics, grace and human
sexuality. John Paul II was much disciplined in all these matters and shared the love to oneself and
others.
His theology and philosophy reached however even further than his religion. Despite his lack of
interest in politics, he has met and spoken to leaders of many countries. This was most

Causes Of Water Scarcity In China
Water scarcity in China Huy Nguyen 8M Introduction:
Many of cities in China are water stressed, with millions of Chinese in rural and urban areas lacking
clean, accessible water which is suppressing the growth of the Chinese economy and general health.
China s water problems are mainly caused by the wet and dry spatial distribution between Southern
and Northern China respectively, as well as wasteful usage of water and under education in aqueous
usage. However, this problem is being confronted with by NGO Lien Aid which has helped build
pipelines and taps for poorer areas of China.
Spatial Distribution China s main food source, rice, is largely grown in Northern China, however,
many of China s water supplies are located in the South with two of China s largest rivers, the Yangtze
and Huang He located there meaning there is insufficient water for crop in Northern China. Due to
Northern China being poorer, it has had to grow and export crop which requires water, to the rich, wet
South. With many provinces in Northern China such as Hebei and Xinjiang exporting a large amount
of water in crop despite having to dig 200m to find usable water, this means that the already poor
provinces which are unable to fix its water crisis have to also export much of its clean water in crops
to supplement income.
The west of China faces the Gobi desert meaning provinces such as Xinjiang and Hebei are
desperately stressed

percentage of distracted drivers could shield his quotes from the suspicion of other people like Badger
in her Article. While Bauer decided the importance of the role of cell phones in a traffic collision,
Badger has chosen that the human behavior is the primary reason affected to accidents. She mentioned
more about the behavior of humans when they couldn t stop themselves looking at their phone when
they listen to the ringtone. People could easily lose the concentration on their work. She thinks people
could do many different things while driving like using makeup products or eating, talking with other

Although both Bauer and Badger have the same point of view about the danger of using phones while
driving, the role of the cell

The Destruction Of The National Park System
National Park System August 25, 1916, the National Park System was passed. President Woodrow
Wilson signed the act to create a new federal bureau that help protect 35 national parks and
monuments. The Organic Act states that the Service thus established shall promote and regulate the
use of the Federal areas known as national parks, monuments and reservations...by such means and
measures as conform to the fundamental purpose of the said parks, monuments and reservations,
which purpose is to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wildlife therein
and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them
unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations. Theodore Roosevelt had a strong desire for
protecting the Earth and the beautiful things that come along with it. Roosevelt had stated at a press
conference, We have become great because of the lavish use of our resources. But the time has come
to inquire seriously what will happen when our forests are gone, when the coal, the iron, the oil, and
the gas are exhausted, when the soils have still further impoverished and washed into the streams,

Glacier National Park in Montana. With the climate changing it is making the Glacier melt away. The
second issue is water issues. There is a water shortage because there are 10 parks that are touched by
Colorado. With growing cities and farmlands, they are draining the water. The third issue is air
pollution. There are power plants and industrial emissions that everything is getting blown over to the
south Appalachian mountains. The most harmed national park is The Great Smoky Mountains, hence
the name Smoky. The final issue is oil and exploration. This is harming the landscape of the Big

Eagle County Essay
When I lived in a Colorado, we resided in Eagle County a rural area in the deep mountains. Our valley
had only a few bodies of water running through it. The main one was the Eagle River and the major
creek going into the Eagle river was the Gore Creek. The Gore Creek s health has been deteriorating
and even failed to meet failed to meet the Environmental Protection Agency standards a few years
ago. It is unfortunately being subjected to heavy erosion and water pollution, mainly due to tourism
related activities and attractions. Things such as golf courses and landscaping use chemicals to make
the grass green all the time. Runoff from water from the roads, parking lots and ski resorts send
pollutants into the Creek. Popular tourist activities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have been asking homeowners that live on the creek bank to create a buffer zone, by not mowing
the grass on the creek side, not removing rocks, and to landscape using native plants. The golf courses
and ski resorts have pledged to use less chemicals and improve water drainage systems. In the popular
tourist spots for hiking and biking many natural barriers and vegetation have been placed, along with
signs to inform people where they can access the creek to wade, fish, or enjoy looking at the beauty
close up. Vail has been raising awareness in the community and have students do hands on
experiments. Some organizations have taken it upon themselves to help educate people and tourists, a
great example being Walking Mountains Science Center, which both educates the community and has
many hands on programs.
Other ideas I have, from knowing the area really well include providing homeowners and hotels the
right seeds and more natural vegetation to plant along the creek. Also, since tourists are alway looking
for signs and brochures, there can be more designed to be educational about the fragile ecosystem and
how not do harm it. Also, when the tourist season is over, many local enjoy volunteer activities and
there could be more based around restoring the

Arguing a Position Draft Internships are great tools for determining future career paths. Without
attending the internship that was required at my high school, I would not be sitting here, clicking on
the keyboard, working hard to become a nurse. I believe that required internships for high school
graduation is necessary because it is beneficial to student s academic success, future success, and
broadens a student s perspective. However, while critics argue that internships may be a tool for

The U.S. Census reports that more than 1 in 4 high school students age 16 and older work, therefore,
requiring every student to attend an internship may cause students to neglect school work, having bad

guidance counselors, each with an average of 315 students per year, adding them hard work to find an

Intricacies Of Precognition
Intricacies of Precognition Divine precognition is a phase of clairvoyance that brings knowledge of
future events without relying on any physical senses. While clairvoyance is an awareness of past or
future events that happen at a distance, precognition is knowing about events that will take place soon.
For instance, you may be shown forthcoming events while you are in a dreaming state, during
meditation or via flashes of clarity. The Bible is rich with examples of precognition. For example, the
Wise Men were forewarned in a (precognitive) dream, not to return to Herod, but to take a different
route home after finding the Christ child. History is rife with astounding examples of precognition:
reportedly some surviving passengers, who were aboard the Titanic, experienced unusual dreams of
impending disaster, which included many deaths by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frequently, the dream includes clear visions of the near future event, such as Lincoln seeing his own
corpse. Premonition is similar to precognition, except premonition is a feeling that something dreadful
might occur at some unknown time in the future. Precognition is a knowing that something will
happen. Also, precognition usually comes when we are in the dream state and premonitions can take
place anytime, day or night. Both involve heightened emotions and/or feelings, such as anxiety, fear or
as feelings of doom and gloom that keep nagging at your consciousness. Let s explore precognitive
dreams. Of course, not all dreams are precognitive, but if you should have one, it will deliver a
warning. There is a slim chance to change the outcome. Precognitive dreams are often symbolic and
may not be understood until the event happens. But, there are literal precognitive dreams where the
dreamer can see what is about to happen in vivid detail as if they were participating in the

Using Security Measures For Dns
1. Introduction Over the years, the Domain Name System (DNS) has evolved as the most important
network service which connects networking resources to a private network and the internet. But along
with the rise in the importance of DNS, it has also become a vulnerable link in the internet security as
it is the internet s primary directory service used for properly traversing through the present
networking infrastructure. Even though DNS is the core fabric of the today s network, there is no
standard security framework available for DNS. Every security professional knows that the network
security measures depends upon the following three important factors [1]: Confidentiality: It is a set of
rules used for limiting the access and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Overview 2.1 DNS Query There are various types DNS queries made by the client. The most common
is the mapping of Fully Qualified domain name (FQDN) to the IP address of the FQDN. A resolver
and a name server play the important role in making queries and finding the results for queries.
Sometimes, we have either only a resolver or a resolver and a name serer working together in a
computer depending upon the system we are using. There are many such combinations but the core
logic remains the same and it is as follows [2]: 1. When a command is inserted by the user, the
hostname will be needed to be translated to the IP address so that the user will be able to access the
resources at the destination site. 2. The particular application program will call the resolver which is
actually a set of library functions. (To be more specific, the application will call gethostbyname or
gethostbyaddr through API or library routines to formulate a query for the name server.) 3. If it is a
caching resolver, it will look for the result within its cache. If the result cannot be found or if it is a
stub resolver, the resolver transfers the request to the local name server. 4. If it is not in

Edward Bloor Identity Analysis
One of the major themes of the novel is Identity. I claim that Paul is struggling with how he is, and his
eyesight, which is his identity overall. Edward Bloor has developed the theme all over the story, and it
s seen in his characters, flashbacks, etc. This theme plays an important role overall in Paul s quest in
trying to grasp strength, and courage. The following are evidence, and commentary of how the theme
has been developed over the two parts.
We first get to see the first evidence of the theme in the first few pages. Edward Bloor used allegory,
and symbolism to represent Paul s past, and for Paul he refers it as a zombie since he didn t quite
know about it yet. Paul refers his past as a zombie since he can t put it to a rest nor ... Show more

Though the flashbacks aren t in order, we got to see how Paul was in the past, and his commentary in
the present. When Paul was testing out his peripheral vision, Erik sneaked up behind him, and scared
him, which reminded Paul that was one of the very first times he saw Erik s true nature. When Paul
was in kindergarten, while waiting for the bus stop, he was made fun of, and explained that the eclipse
was the cause, but in the present he is questioning himself if that was really the cause. I think the
flashbacks were better to include since it heightened our understanding of the theme.
Another piece of evidence took place at Tangerine Middle. On Paul s first day, when his tour guide
asked about his vision, he hesitated, and replied I don t know . Edward Bloor again developed the
theme by showing Paul s struggle. Afterwards, Paul was starting to question himself, and that s when
the theme starts to develop even faster. I think that this question was a good way to start transitioning
the whole story.
Overall, I think Edward Bloor did a good job developing the Identity theme all over part two. Bloor
used figurative language to help the reader relate, and maybe understand to Paul s problem better.
Bloor putting in flashbacks was a good way to heighten our understanding. Lastly, using that question
to transition Paul s character was

It does not take a rocket scientist to know that America has been racist to almost every minority that

were hated, they took our lovely jobs. What 10 men could do, a single chinese man would do just the
same. It would lead to them being heavily hated by Americans, and as well as other minority groups
they worked alongside with. The message was very clear that the chinese were not wanted in America.

Childcare Act 1991 The Child Care Act of 1991 was the first piece of Irish legislation to focus on children. It defines a child as someone who is under 18 years of age (unless they are married). The Act is an extensive piece of legislation, and it is not within the remit of this text to discuss all aspects of it. For purposes, we will focus on Part VII of the Act, which defines a pre school child and pre school service. Pre school service: any pre school, playgroup, day nursery, crèche, daycare or other similar service which caters for preschool children. These include sessional, full time and drop in services. The Child Care Act of 1991 is very important in relation to the protection of children. The Act puts a legal responsibility on any person charged with the care of any child to act in the child s best interests this is the most fundamental requirement of every person who works with children with whatever situation. It is also the primary legislation regulating the childcare policy. Childcare (Preschool) Regulations 2006 The Childcare (Pre School Services) (No. 2) Regulations 2006 provides for standard of service, upkeep and care for any setting defined as pre school. • 3. The Search for Truth in Anton Chekhov s The Cherry... The scholar is engaged in the interminable quest for truth. The knowledge that one can never understand everything makes a person wise. Ignorance is the assumption that one can understand all about the world around them. An ignorant person is so confident they comprehend the truth, that they are blind to the greater truth. Anton Chekhov and Sophocles deal with the idea of this sinful pride that leads to ignorance in their respective works, The Cherry Orchard and Oedipus Rex. In each drama, certain characters are slapped in the face with the truth; the light is revealed. However, these characters make the connection when it is too late. Their destruction is already destined to become a reality, a horrid fate that could have been prevented. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The timing of the chorus plea as Oedipus enters the stage clearly demonstrates that Oedipus is the man whom he seeks, the murderer of the king. The truth of the play is revealed, yet Oedipus remains ignorant. Chekhov also makes use of a symbol to represent truth in his play. In The Cherry Orchard, the Ranevskayas are an aristocratic family that squander away their final days at their beloved cherry orchard. It shall soon be auctioned off, yet the family merely sits about and engages in meaningless chatter. They assume that everything shall be taken care of, the way it always has been in their lives. However, there is one man who seems to be above the careless atmosphere that surrounds him Lopakhin, the hard working son of generations of peasants. This man of great ambition represents truth. The truth that Chekhov reveals in the play is the emerging changes in the Russian social structure. The industrious middle class is on the rise, and the lazy aristocracy is doomed to fade away. In the end, Lopakhin buys the cherry orchard, which is the estate where [his] father and grandfather were slaves (Chekhov 366). The cherry orchard was the security, the wealth, and the power of the aristocracy; it is bought by a merchant, the son of peasants. Could the aristocracy not see what was happening, or did they choose to remain ignorant? By constructing summer cottages, the Ranevskaya family could have prevented the loss of the beloved ... • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages To Traditional Database... Advantages of Database Management System: The DBMS has a number of advantages as compared to traditional computer file processing approach. The DBA must keep in mind these benefits or capabilities during designing databases, coordinating and monitoring the DBMS. The major advantages of DBMS are described below. 1. Controlling Data Redundancy: In non database systems (traditional computer file processing), each application program has its own files. In this case, the duplicated copies of the same data are created at many places. In DBMS, all the data of an organization is integrated into a single database. The data is recorded at only one place in the database and it is not duplicated. For example, the dean s faculty file and the faculty payroll file contain several items that are identical. When they are converted into database, the data is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In DBMS, database and application programs are separated from each other. Today, most of the database systems are online. The database technology is used in conjunction with Internet technology to access data on the web servers. Disadvantages of Database Management System (DBMS): Although there are many advantages but the DBMS may also have some minor disadvantages. These are: 1. Cost of Hardware ... • 5. What I Learned With My Mom And My Friend Casey 1 1. Find at least two people who lived through 9/11, and ask them to: a) describe what they remember I spoke to my Mom and my friend Casey. My mom was three miles away in Manhattan when the first impact happened. It shook her entire office, on the 78th floor. She immediately called my dad and got out of the city; took a cab and paid the driver to go straight to Connecticut. She remembered watching the TV, shocked about what had happened. There was rage, anger, and disbelief. She didn t know what could posses someone to act in that manner. My friend Casey was living in Tribeca, 4 blocks away from Ground Zero. He had moved into the city from New London, CT with his eMac and a video camera to become a filmmaker on September 7th, 2001. The first impact knocked him out of bed and onto the floor. By the time the second plane struck, he was on his bike, riding out of the city to Grand Central Terminal. He told me that he remembered being shocked at what could have happened and why, and how on his first couple days in the city, terror struck. b) explain how 9/11 has impacted their lives My mom told me that this was her wake up call to get out of the city and come live in Connecticut because she wanted to be closer to me. My dad retired when I was born, so he was taking care of me full time, but my mom was sick of getting up at 5 and coming home at 8 in a luxury construction business that paid well, but gave her no time to live her own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is just a tiny bit of what happens in the show. This show is very negative on children and they way they will interact with other in public. They also make fun of amputees, this can be very harmful to the way children interact with other kids that have this kind of problem example Joe is Peter Griffins neighbour and there is an episode that says no legs no service. Also, this show is a very sexist show, they always make reference to women being in the kitchen and that is all they re good at for example, in one episode peter tells Louis that making sandwiches and babies are the only thing she is good for. This kind of behaviour shows to young children that women are no good for anything because that is how the men on this show treat the women. There s also lots of coarse language towards women, for example Quagmire a neighbours always has many women over to his house for pleasurable reasons and you hear him call them names like whores, bitches, sluts and more this foul language towards women is another bad influence. Also peter has a teenage daughter Meg, everyone in the show is mean to her. This girl is treated very badly for example in an episode she had sexual intercourse with a guy and a little after that the guy Brandon, broke up with her, in another episode she has another boyfriend Luke and Louis, her mother stole ... • 7. Young Goodman Brown, The Scarlett Letter, And The House Of... Young Goodman Brown: Analysis of his faith Personal experience plays a vital role when authors decide on the certain topics for their stories. A factor like religion may determine an author s writing style. For example, an author who may have had a Christian upbringing may write about faith, hell, or salvation; in contrast, one who had a negative experience with religion as a child, may hint at departing from their family and finding one s own religion. A well known author from the 1800s, Nathaniel Hawthorne, implements his religious upbringing in his stories, Young Goodman Brown , The Scarlett Letter , and The House of Seven Gables. The use of certain thematic elements in Young Goodman Brown help readers understand how the main character lost his faith and became bitter towards religious people. In the year 1804, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born to Massachusetts Bay colonists; Nathaniel Hathorne and Elizabeth Clarke Manning in Salem, Massachusetts. Hawthorne s great grandfather, John Hathorne, had the role of judging during the Salem Witch Trials in 1692 (Means). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Faith is also young like her husband. This paper will discuss in depth two different dishes that come from different regions and how its sustainability impacts its social cultural resilience. Baghdad, Iraq and Gaza, Palestine both deal with political and environment factors that impact their dishes, but sustainability in Gaza is less complex because its dish ingredients are not harm by governmental regulations and its geography provides a vast range of arable land. Behaviorism is a worldview that assumes a learner is essentially passive, responding to environmental stimuli. The learner starts off as a clean slate and behavior is shaped through positive reinforcement or negative reinforcement. Both positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement increase the probability that the antecedent behavior will happen again. The study of only behavior in Psychology is called Behaviorism. Pavlov continued this action for several meals. After a while, Pavlov was able to sound the bell without giving the dogs food and the dogs would salivate. This is because Pavlov conditioned their behavior so that the dogs would salivate at the sound of the bell. Watson did something very similar with his Little Albert experiment. Watson and Rosalie Rayner, a graduate student, conducted an experiment called Albert B on a nine month old boy named Albert. In the Albert B experiment, Watson and Rayner showed Albert many white objects including a white rabbit. Watson and Rayner gave Albert the white rabbit again, but this time they hit a metal pipe with a hammer. The loud noise made Albert cry. They continued this process until the sight of the white rabbit, without the noise of the pipe, made Albert cry. This proved that emotions can be altered by changing an organism s behavior. John Broadus Watson was born in Greenville, South Carolina on January 9, 1878. Watson grew up in a horrible home. Watson s father cheated on his mother, and his terrible home life led him to be a trouble child. When Watson was in school, he would harass the African American children that went there with him. Technology and science are closely related hence, the technology uses science to answer problems, while science uses technology to come up with new discoveries. However, technology and science target different objectives. The objective of science is to provide an answer to the critical questions, thus help to increase knowledge while the goal of technology is to find answers to real problems. Even though they have a different objective, they, however, work together to facilitate each other to grow. The knowledge posed from science led to the creation of technology like telescope while the telescope technology led to a microscope that allows researchers to discover nature in a new era. Importance of Setting in The Blue Hotel Essay Importance of Setting in Stephen Crane s The Blue Hotel In The Blue Hotel, Stephen Crane uses various provocative techniques to ensure that the setting adds to the richness of the story. The majority of people who suffer from a superiority complex feel inadequate somewhere deep inside themselves and as a result, treat others as lesser. For example, the first thought of Connie s sister that pops up into her head is that she is plain and chunky and steady, and that was why Connie had to hear her praised all of the time (Oates 337) Connie is hasty to point out her sister s vices, and does not even consider that her sister might be praised because she is deserving of praise. Connie regards herself as better than her sister, so she constructs an excuse as to why her sister receives praise rather than Connie. It s ironic that Connie conceals her weaknesses from herself, yet this superiority complex is a weakness in and of itself. These few attributes were the ones that made him the person he was.
