Managing Transitions by William Bridges is a well constructed text written on Change
Management. Bridges begins by expressing the clear distinction between change and transition ,
with emphasis that change and transition are not interchangeable terms, but completely separate
processes. The concept, according to Bridges, is simple: Change is situational, it is eventful,
visible and tangible. Change is the WHAT. Transition is psychological, a continuous process that

I think the first story I wrote was a Godzilla knock off, which I called Space Monster. I even

This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Pratt Whitney Engines, a subsidiary of United
Technologies Corporation, in East Hartford, CT. Pratt Whitney is one of the largest aircraft
engine makers, for both commercial and military aircraft in the world, with over 31,000
employees that support more than 11,000 customers around the world. Within Pratt Whitney, there
are several areas of operation. I worked in their Propulsion Systems Analysis in the vehicle
systems analysis group. While working at Pratt Whitney I had the opportunity to work on quite a
few projects, including looking at a hybrid electric engine concept, which was my main project for
the semester. The hybrid electric engine concept was one of several engine concepts that were
discussed in the NASA Subsonic Ultra Green Aircraft Research, otherwise known as SUGAR,
research papers. NASA partnered with Boeingto identify possible aircraft and engine concepts
that would meet certain performance, noise, and emission standards. NASA expected that these
concepts would be possible between 2030 and 2045. In the Phase 1 report, released in 2011, they
looked into five aircraft concepts ranging from a 2008 baseline, which was a Boeing 737aircraft, to

Jean Rhys, the author of Good Morning Midnight, wrote about women with sense and sensitivity
in mostly controversial ways. Rhys was born in Dominica in eighteen ninety four. She came to
England at the age of sixteen and hovered on many jobs before she moved to Paris, where she
began writing and was found by Ford Maddox Ford.
