The Importance Of Social Class In America
Social class largely affects the ways of life of all Americans These divisions of social class are
characterized by viewpoints, for example, lifestyle and income but education is a huge part of
deciding one s social class. That does not imply that it will decide a person s achievements but
with many individuals with higher education normally have better jobs with benefits and higher
wages too. Those of the privileged have higher education rather than those of middle and lower
class. Around 14% of mortgage holders are either behind on their home payments or are putting
up for foreclosure. The economic crash and foreclosure crisis that occurred in 2008 was not made
by one issue but rather a blend of issues. People obtained more than they could bear the cost of
however they were permitted, and now and again empowered, to do this by bankers which
institutions that should be helping the people to finance. The conviction that material belonging
enhances people s lives and social prosperity pervades in America. As opposed to this belief
different studies demonstrate that materialists contrasted with non materialists have individual and
social prosperity. Compulsive and impulsive shopping, debt, diminished savings overall decrease
the well being of people and other undesirable results have all been connected with materialistic
behavior. American materialism has found its ways to millions in America. Success is measured in
the materials and the social classa person is in. This does

Japanese Female Divers Essay
On the other hand, the history of Japanese female divers stretches back far longer than that of the
Koreans. The practice originated at least two thousand years ago, and may have a connection to
the migration of Japanese. As fishermen were moving along the southwest islands of Japan and
towards the main island, women were reported to have collected shellfish and seaweed. Such
catches would provide much needed salt in the diet and some items such as abalone or turbo
play a part in religious ceremonies, and also could be traded for other products. Jewelry could
also be made out of the pearls and abalone shells they collected. The Japanese have a wide variety
of diving practices and even wear different types of clothing depending on the region; such
diversity is evidence of free diving as a long standing tradition with older origins.... Show more

Underwater googles also vary by region, but all ama do carry a kaigane. The kaigane is a metal
scoop or pallet...used to remove the abalone or other shells from the rocks, and serves as a
counterweight during descent (Rahn 29). Like the Koreans, free diving did not start out as a
female dominated profession. It is significant to note that the male characters for ama, (diver in
Japanese) have the connotation of sea warrior or more appropriately, samurai of the sea. But the
female characters for ama simply mean sea woman, and the term itself is now assumed to refer to
females. The difference in meaning is most likely due to the fact that men would use their hands or
spears to grab fish, while the women collected shellfish and

The Inspiration of Frida Kahlo Essay
Some people become artists for the pleasure, but others might have an ability to perceive art in a
deeper sense than what is being presented. Artists like Diego VelГ
Ўzquez, Michelangelo
Buonarroti, and Sandro Botticelli could actually see the essence of art which motivated them to
give the world a canvas of questionable knowledge. Later another artist emerged with the same
ability, FridaKahlo. She used her life as her canvas; allowed people to view the world from
behind the surrealistic doors. In addition, she was able to present self portraits in many forms, all
influenced by a tragic bus accident which led to a broken spine that affected her whole life.
Described mostly in the film Frida directed by Julie Taymor, and the book Frida: A... Show more

Nails showing anguish (Herrera 76) are positioned throughout her body all the way to her leg
which was later amputated. There is a crumbling roman column which replaced her spine. Stated
by Sharyn Udell the column represented an I and its traditional association with female
proportions perhaps a punning reference to herself (11). Tears are flowing from her eyes
showing the pain of losing her love ones and the feeling loneliness. The background is a desert
with a cloudy sky giving the sense of physical and emotional suffering ... isolated against an
immense and barren plain (Herrera 77). The Broken Column is still one of her most influential
portraits. It s abilities to depict self pain can be seen by many who loved the art style of Frida. In
the scene when Frida is in the Detroit Hotel. She experiences another tragic incident, the
miscarriage of her second child to Diego. One night in 1932 just three months of being pregnant
Rivera, who sneaked in quietly, finds her lain down with blood around her legs. The scene that
follows is one of panic and fright as she is rush to the emergency room. During the operation the
baby, who was not fully developed, came out in pieces. Frida declared he disintegrated in her
womb. After a few days in the hospital bed, she staggered out from her room and requested to see
her child. The

The Treatment Of Medical Care
Each day, men, women and children are put behind bars suffer from lack of access to medical
health care. Chronic illnesses go untreated, emergencies are ignored, and patients with serious
illnesses fail to receive needed care. A small failure to medical care can turn in to death of an
inmate if left untreated. Prisoners are humans whether inmates or not, with normal health issues or
diseases. Even a common cold is an example of an illness that needs treatment. A lot with what is
wrong with the health care system today, in the United States deals with money. Within prisons, it
is an entire different story. The mission of medical care is to diagnose, comfort and cure. These
goals are not being achieved within the prisonsystem. Care needs to be given to every inmate,
even the most despised and violent one among them all. Prisoners who had healthcare before
becoming incarcerated may have that ignored or taken away from them. International law
provides the rights of everyone, including people who may have gotten their freedom take away.
The United States of America has the world s highest incarceration rate. Americans prison
population has been growing since the war on drugs led to tough on crime laws being
implemented in the 1980s and 1990s. (Engel, 2014) Many people enter prison knowing they will
be out in a few short months, and others for life. It doesn t seem the norm to be treating a patient

Lady Macbeth Persuasive Speech
Today I was told by the Weird Sisters that i would become Thane of Cawdor and soon King of
Scotland. I would love to become king but the things that i would have to do to achieve this are
out of the question. I hope Lady Macbeth does not find out about this because she would do
terrible things to get me to be king. I hope to one day be king of Scotland but without hurting
anyone. King Duncan already has abundant trust for me and I don t plan on breaking that like the
previous Thane of Cawdor did. It is my goal to become king one day, slowly but surely.
The witches were right, I have become Thane of Cawdor. I just hope they don t curse Duncan so i

Population Overpopulation Over Population
overpopulation and population density
When we think of population density most people aren t positive on this is actually means. In this
essay, I will state why population density is becoming a problem in today s society and how this is
having an effect on our environment, political, and economic state of countries. According to
dictionary.com population density is the number of people living per unit of an area (e.g. per
square mile); the number of people relative to the space occupied by them
After some secondary research, I found out that the continent of Asia has the highest population
density in the world if we look at the statistics on geolounge.com the countries with the highest
population density are Asia, Africa, and North America. If we narrow this down to induvial
countries we can see from this graph on the right that there is a cluster within Asia, the country
that shows us this is China is overpopulated because of the colour of the country and if you refer
it back to the map. Once you refer it back to the map you can see that China has approximately
150 people living per square kilometre in China, this is mainly because of highly over populated
cities in China. For example, Hong Kong, Hong Kong has a high population density of 6,349
people living per square kilometre, which is massive compared to different smaller countries like
The Republic of China (Taiwan) who have a population density of 639 people per square kilometre.
I know this by referring back to

Introduction
As a new worker you have finally landed that dream job, now what? You are excited about the
possibilities awaiting you at your new dream job. As you prepare for your first day, you are told
you will have to attend new hire orientation. Suddenly, the butterflies in your stomach return as you
anticipate what to expect next. Then you ask yourself, What is new hire orientation and what does
it mean for me? The goal of any successful onboarding program is to ensure that the investment in a
new employee pays off by creating a sense of connection between the new worker and the

Initially, Monica contacts Carl about the key items needed for orientation and he assures her
that everything is good to go. This could not have been further from the truth. At this point, he is
not aware of the problems he will face in his new endeavor. Carl s lack of experience is clearly
exhibited when his assurance has not been tested. The next key problem that arises for Carl is
when he checks the new trainee files and discovers that they are incomplete. All the new recruits
have gone through the interview process and filled out their paperwork. Unfortunately, the
paperwork is incomplete and missing lots of valuable data. To make matters worse, some files
are missing transcripts, and no one has completed the required drug screens. Problems only get
worse for Carl when he discovers that only three copies of the employee manuals exist. Of the
three manuals that exist, they are all missing several pages. Unfortunately, he needs fifteen
complete copies. As if the previous issues alone are not bad enough, Carl also learns that the
training room he plans to use for orientation has been booked by another individual for the entire
month of June. At this point, he is faced with a serious dilemma, and his lack of experience
reveals that he does not realize the severity of his problem. Namely, he lacks leadership because he
failed to prepare and assumed that his first project would go smoothly. Next, he

Vaccines Are The Tugboats Of Preventive Health
Introduction
Vaccines are the tugboats of preventive health (Billy Corgan). Vaccines are one of the most cost
effective health solutions; they are seen as the safest and best way to prevent diseases. They are
also effective in preventing bacterial infections such as whooping cough (pertussis) and tetanus.
But there are people around the world who purposely avoid it because of the ingredients inside or
because of their own bad experiences with vaccines. Due to the rise of conscientious vaccine
objectors in Australia, the Australian government introduced the No Jab No Pay legislation. The
legislation consists on the government cutting child care benefits and tax rebate if the child isn t
immunised; ultimately to improve the immunisation coverage rates in Australia. ( No Jab No Pay,
Australian Vaccinationskeptics Network Inc. , 2016) It also provides a catch up plan that provides
free service for children under 10. The scheme aims to improve overall vaccination standards in
Australia. But why do people object getting vaccination? Is the No Jab No Pay the best solution? Is
there a better solution to vaccination rates? The report aims to answer the questions above through
research and data from Australia and around the world.
Importance of Vaccination
Vaccinations are an important force against preventable diseases, they fight many diseases and it
doesn t only protect the person vaccinated but can protect others. They can control the spread of
disease to people who are not

As quoted directly from the website (How to teach mind mapping and how to make a mind map) the
authors have listed the following as key benefits when using Mind mapping in the educational
environment.
Mind mapping can
Help students brainstorm and explore any idea, concept, or problem
Facilitate better understanding of relationships and connections between ideas and concepts
Make it easy to communicate new ideas and thought processes
Allow students to easily recall information
Help students take notes and plan tasks
Make it easy to organize ideas and concepts
David Kelly who is the founder of IDEO explains that mind maps allow him to associate freely and
that it is an excellent tool to prompt you to ask questions, exposing relationships between
previously unforseen concepts (Kelley 2006).
Quoted directly from (Kelley 2006) David also goes on to say, The cool thing is that you allow

Importance Of Dominance In Shakespeare s Sonnet 94
In Sonnet 94, Shakespeare shows a separation between those who have, but do not flaunt and
those who have and use to satisfy others. Society s preferred standards where flawed during the
17th century. They played a part in how people were criticized. Shakespeare has a strong approval
for those who convey themselves in a humble manner, but deeply opposed the individuals who do
not; all in all, those who are differentiated should not be bad mouthed because of their actions, but
helped to become better.
Shakespeare starts Sonnet 94 with situations that present modesty between the ones who show
characteristics that others may not, but these individuals do not flaunt or boast about what they
have. Shakespeare has a deep approval them, but maybe they are unaware of what they have or it
could be that they are subconscious about themselves, which can cause them to act shelled. First,
Shakespeare introduced a person with a high authority than an ordinary individual. Dominance does
not initiate enforced obedience on account of possessing the higher position. Some people
subconsciously utilize their authority for their own personal benefit, but for those who do not, as
Shakespeare stated in Sonnet 94 (line 5), rightly do inherit heaven s grace . Next, an individual
who restrained from intimate activities was introduced. In a biblical sense, the restraint from
intimate activity before marriage is the righteous decision to make; although, if someone decided
not to comply, no sin is

Anorak s Invitation Video Analysis
The year is 2044, and the world is in decline. Trying to cope with the challenges, people play
OASIS, a massive multiplayer online virtual reality game, that s said most of humanity now
used on a daily basis, (p. 1). The creator of the game, James Halliday, recently died. Due to him
having no heir, he created an Easter egg for the game, supposedly hidden so well in the game,
that it might be too hard to find this big surprise. There are 3 clues: 3 keys, one copper, one jade,
and one clear crystal. The person who finds all 3, will become the heir, and inherit the fortune of
one of the richest people in the world. The morning that James Halliday died, a video message was
released, one that explained the situation. This video, called Anorak s Invitation, would become the
most scrutinized piece of film in history, (p. 3).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Halliday uses it to give both some of his history along with the news of the competition he
created for his fortune. The hunt is what became of this competition. All players of OASIS hunt
for the 3 keys, the ones that have been serious about searching for them are called gunters. It was
fairly popular to be a gunter for the first year or two, but after two years of searching, and no one
finding anything, all the excitement is seeming to die down. Gunters were made fun of for still
pursuing a lost cause, and few have stayed gunters after all of the ridicule. Finally after five long
years, the Copper Key had finally been found, by an eighteen year old, (p. 13 14). This eighteen
year old being the main character, wanting to tell his story the way it actually happened. This novel
by Ernest Cline is trying to show us, through Wade, how much technology can affect us in our near
future, and how much influence it has in our lives: anything that will make that life any better at

Forshadowing In Joan Aiken s The Third Wishes
In the short story, The Third Wish, by Joan Aiken, a lonely man named Mr.Peters comes across a
struggling swan. After freeing him, he turned into a little green man who granted him 3 wishes.
Mr.Peters used one of his wishes to get a wife, and saved the others in case something went
wrong. By using mood and foreshadowing to create a theme that Making wise and smart
decisions can save you, he also used another two, round and indirect characterisation, to show a
second theme that being a rude and selfish rude person never goes well in the end. Aiken uses
foreshadowing and indirect characterization to portray a theme that being a selfish and rude person
never goes well in the end. Aiken used foreshadowing in The Third Wishto convey a theme that
being a selfish and rude person never goes well in the end. In the beginning of the short story,
Mr.Peters was granted three wishes after freeing a swan from a thorn bush. The swan then
turned into a little man. This was who granted Mr.Peters the wishes and he warned him that
people always use the wishes for selfish endeavors, it always ended in catastrophe. Mr. Peters,
already knowing he was going to be smart with his wishes claimed that, He knew very well that
the gift of three magical wishes was one which brought trouble more often than not.(...) He
decided to use his first wish and keep the other two in case of emergency. (Mr.Peters pg 56)
These few sentences tell the reader that he is going to use his wishes wisley instead of using it
for something impractical. He knows that wishing for something that is life change never really
ended up good in the end. It s always worse than when it started. This is why Mr.Peters was smart
with his wishes. This little example of foreshadowing is not the only one the author used. In the
middle of the passage his wife that he wished for, was longing for her old life back. Mr.Peters
knew she was not happy. The passage claims that one night he heard her cry, Rhea! Rhea! I can t
understand what you say! Oh wait for me, take me with you! (Leita pg 57) She cries to her missed
sister who she can t communicate with because she is a swan. Mr.Peters was the only one that
could make her happy again. This shows foreshadowing because, the

learning how to analyze these games and showcase my knowledge through multimodal projects and

The peer review process was critical towards the improvement of my work. For the first artifact,
which was the standard essay, I drafted the essay and received feedback on my thesis via email
from my professor Dr. Addcox as well as my roommate. The changes suggested to me clarified
my paper and strengthened my argument. It was in my second artifact however that I realized
the importance of getting an outside opinion on my work. For this assignment I had to create a
new storyline for a video game we played in class. The storyline we created had to be a
branching narrative and under the pressure of developing my own storyline my storyline was not
a proper branching narrative. After developing my first draft, I had a collaborative conference
with my professor (Dr. Addcox), where I received feedback which helped me incorporate a
branching narrative structure into my idea. I then had a comprehensive peer review session with a
classmate, which allowed me to refine my storyline and improve upon details.
The first two artifacts that were individually completed taught me how to work with discipline
over a period of time, something that I had not often done in high school. For the first assignment
a blog post based on a short reading had to be converted into a polished essay. While this seemed
like a simple task, I had to re read the short story to develop a purposeful thesis and had to add

Capitalism And Free Market Capitalism
For this assignment we are asked to explain free market capitalism. First of all, capitalism has its
own meaning while free market does too. Capitalism defines as an economic system based on
ownership of factors of produce (Nickolas, 2017). The primary tactics of capitalism is when the
owners compete with one another along with motivates a general profit by its private owner
without any outside companies interference of outside sale forces (Nickolas, 2017).
Free market plays a role by producing and pricing the products/services. Basically, this is what
free market is all about! Free market is an economic system that you use strictly for supply and
demand with or without the small aspects of government regulations. In this process, generally the
buyer and the seller makes deals freely and only when coming to an agreement on the price of a
product and or service.
Capitalism is the center of interest to create wealth. Also, too, fabricate gains ownerships of
capital and factors of producing versus to free market. Free Market also focuses on wealth,
products, and services. One requirement of capitalism is that it requires a free market economic
system to bring in success. If a free market follow and adhere to all regulations it can potentially
become one of the most unique agents of collective human progress.
The United States has fully lived up to John Kenneth Galbraith s observation half a century ago
that modern U.S. capitalism generates private wealth and public squalor (Foster et al.,
2017).Capitalism has served us enormously well. Yet while it has helped to reduce global poverty
and expand access to health care and education, it has come at an enormous cost: unsustainable
levels of public and private debt, excessive consumerism, and, frankly, too many people who are
left behind. Any system that prevents large numbers of people from fully participating or excludes
them altogether will ultimately be rejected. And that s what you see happening. People are asking,
What are we doing here? (McKinsey Company, 2017).
Creative Capitalism is a systematic approach to government businesses (Nickolas, 2017). In which,
it is a nonprofit organization that works as a team to broaden market shifts. In this

Michelangelo s The Last Judgement Analysis
[1] In Christian theology, it is said that during the Judgement Day , the end of mankind, Jesus
Christ, the Savior of Mankind will depart from Heaven to take his Redeemed saints with him to
Heaven on high. As the intercessor between an omnipotent God and His flawed creations, Christ
is often depicted as a kind, loving peacemaker who understands the struggles of mankind. When
given life in paintings and artwork, He is often draped in white robes, seemingly connoting purity
and peace, with a countenance intended to convince viewers to come to Him for forgiveness and

Despite all of the piece s efforts to force viewers attention to Christ, His own face is turned away
from the line of sight of the viewer, unlike many contemporary works which focus on His face to
show Him as compassionate and loving. In the absence of loving kindness, he becomes a concrete,
unmoving agent of judgement. His features resemble vengeful and often unsympathetic Greek
deities, a parallel to illustrate how Christ s mercy will be unattainable during the Last Judgement.
Through emphasizing the finite nature of the audience s opportunity to repent from their sins and
seek Christ, The Last Judgement is able to simulate the sense of regret and hopelessness that the
characters in the piece currently have but are unable to do anything about. Thus, by using remorse,
Michelangelo implies that when the Last Judgement does come, the audience too would regret
wrongs in their life that they cannot fix now that Christ s forgiveness has expired. By creating this
dark setting, Michelangelo underscores the idea that all hope will be lost during the Last
Judgement, implying that the audience needs to align their lives with Christ before then. [3]
Through the choice of artistic elements Michelangelo includes, and more importantly chooses not
to include, he is able to achieve a sense of urgency in the work. Typically to underscore the
compassionate love Christ is associated with, He is shown with holes

Republican Radicals
After the Civil War had been won by the Union, people started to raise up lots of questions.
Lincolns mind view was that the Union was one, and that the southern states that had decided to
secede were just in rebellion, and he was going to forgive and forget. Republican Radicals on the
other hand figured that the South should be severely dealt with. Another question that was raised
was what should be done with the over four million slaves that were being set free.
Lincoln answered these questions exceedingly well in his ten percent plan. This proclamation
stated that if any seceded state wished to be Presidentially pardoned, they only had to take the Oath
of Loyalty, which stated that the state had to Faithfully support, protect, and defend the
Constitution of the United States and the Union of the States thereunder (Wikipedia/Loyalty Oath),

This was ok until the Republican Radicals won almost complete control of the Reconstruction.
With this power, the radicals passed the First Reconstruction Act in 1867, which divided the South
into five military districts. To get rid of the military, the state had to have a Constitutional
Convention and in it create a government acceptable to the Congress. In order to be acceptable to
Congress, each state had to allow the blacks voting power by ratifying the fourteenth amendment
which gave that suffrage to the blacks. By 1870, all the districts had created such a government
and were readmitted to the Union. The only problem with this were the carpetbaggers who tried to
manipulate the blacks who were in control into making bad choices. Because of this, whites had to
restore white supremacy and this resolved the situation for a

Building A Relationship With California Baptist...
Buoyant, malleable, light hearted, joyful, unwavering faith, strength in experience, and wisdom are
all tools that have helped me maneuver through the storms.
Throughout my life, I have positioned myself to succeed regardless of the opposition. That has
been the story since day one: my father being in and out of prison, moving from state to state, and
never settling in one spot for too long. I joined the United States Marine Corps as soon as it was
legal, in order to position myself in the direction of success. I have done well; I have gotten myself
out of Baltimore City, I have started a wonderful family, and I no longer have the opposition that
once surrounded me. However, the will and determination that fueled me is evermore present. My
internal mission made a shift, from surviving storms to thriving times.
My intent in the building a relationship with California Baptist University MBA program is simple:
to the change the way entrepreneurs approach the Hospitality Industry, because of the impact I will
make in the industry due to the knowledge and experience gained at California Baptist University
MBA program. Life has thrown me a wonderful opportunity. The owner of our company, Pizza:90,

Memi And Sabu And The Seated Statue Of Gudea
The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea are two historic
statues dating back 2000 years B.C. that have been displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of
Art in New York City. The subjects represented in both statues display a strength in human
relationships. They also both bear emotional and physical similarities. Memi and Sabu and
Gudea also have many differing characteristics such as their medium and historical value. This
essay will further describe the similarities and differences between The Royal Acquaintances
Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea. The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu is
constructed of limestone. Limestone is an organic sedimentary rock composed of skeletal
fragments of marine organisms such as coral and mollusks. It is very common and is still
frequently used in architecture and art. It is long lasting and stands up well to exposure.
Landmarks such as the Great Pyramids were constructed of limestone (Cassar, 2010). The seated
Statue of Gudea is sculpted of diorite. Diorite is the traditional base material in the construction
of roads and parking areas. It is considered difficult to sculpt with because of its hardness and
variable composition. For those reasons, it is not a stone often used by sculptors nowadays. It was
popular among ancient sculptors of the Middle East (Diorite, n.d.). The Royal Acquaintances
Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea are similar in size but still relatively small in size.

In addition to the actual state of the restaurant the figure head of a fast food industry must also
capture the minds of potential consumer via a seemingly moronic yet intelligent and sentient being.
A perfect example of this would be the clown from McDonald s, his bizarre and inhuman looks
capturing the visual attention of the consumer while the mild mannered psychotic behavior both
tantalizes us and fills us with fear of the consequences of not consuming the double cheese
burger. Another prime example would be the burger king (view a commercial with the king and
all of this will make perfect sense) and his disturbing imagery and behavior, simply appearing at
your bed side offering flame broiled delights always with a exceedingly morbid and paralyzing
smile suggesting that the burgers are poisoned and that one will die as a result of eating them (of
course the commercial never shows the fate of the kings victim). In retrospect while it may appear
that the gimmicks themselves do not actually draw the consumer in the imagery mixed with their
events taking place seem to have captured and reeled in the consumers mind and thus achieved the
companies goal. The economic way is the only way: since the beginning of the fast food industry

They knew what had to be done to better their lives down South. They had the skills, the

Biblical Allusions In Beowulf
Beowulf is a poem written down and told in the Anglo Saxon era. It is an epic poem written by
an unknown author. An epic poem is long narrative poem dealing with the trial and achievements
of a hero or heroes. This epic poem is about the trial of a man named Beowulf who fights off

that Beowulf was originally written down by a Christian monk. This is because there are
Christian references all throughout the book even though the poem was originally spoken in a

Protecting Pygmy Sloth Habitat On The Isla Escudo De Verguas
The plan to protect pygmy sloth habitat on the Isla Escudo de Verguas is to create a team to begin
gathering research to develop a Comprehensive Conservation Plan. The research gathered can be
from previous research conducted by a variety of scientists. In addition, new data should be
collected on the current populationof Pygmy sloths in addition to the amount of mangroves on the
island. This plan will make sure that the endangered animals on the island are protected and
ensure that the refuge management is taking the steps to help recuperate the mangroves that have
been cut. The first step would be to gather a team to head the proposal. Some of the team
members should be from the refuge management, as well as people who are well informed on the
animals that inhabit the island and environmental information. Once the team is built, they will
need to gather local fishermen and regular visitors to the island to assess the situation and receive
feedback on what they believe to be the largest problems facing the island. With the help from the
local fishermen, who are the ones that are cutting down the pygmy sloth habitat, the refuge
management team will be able to assess the needs of the fishermen as well as the need of the
animals to create a plan of action to better ensure the safety of the island. From this research, the
team can create an initial draft of a plan for the next ten or fifteen years. The Comprehensive

The Philosophy Of Aristotle s Philosophy
Within each of our existences, we as social creatures desire friendship/social interaction which
comforts us on the confusing journey we call life. I believe that through my interpretation of
Aristotle s philosophy, that we all have friends when seeing the world through Aristotle s
philosophy. Aristotle describes friendshipas being made up of mutual feelings of good intentions
between two individuals. According to him, there are 3 different types of friendships that make
up the base of social interactions. The first out of 3 types of friendships that he talks about is
Utility based friendships. These types of friendships are based on the benefits/trading that the
two individuals can gain from each other. These are most often formed by individuals with
opposite personalities. The decision making process involved in forming these types of
relationships are based on long term benefit, or time to benefit ratio. This type of relationship is
characterized as shallow, weak, and easily dissolved. The most problems occur in this type of
relationship due to the deviation in valuing one another s service. For example, Billy and Bob
are friends/roommates, Billy made a painting as a gift for Bob in exchange for paying his half of
the rent, Bob believes that while being appreciative of the painting, that it is worth less than the
price of the rent he couldn t pay and insists that Bob either starts pulling his own weight or hits the

telecommunications industry has been revolutionised by the mobile phone, several social issues
have arisen from its usage. Areas of concern include social impacts on young people, problems
with road safety, social etiquette issues and impacts in educational settings. The introduction of
the mobile phone has begun to cause changes in the behaviour of young people as the
technology becomes more and more central to their everyday life. Mobile phone technology
allows for the quick arranging or rearranging of social functions (Geser, 2004, as cited in

Gender Discrimination During The Early Nineteenth Century
Would you believe me if I told you that there was a time that women were fired simply for getting
married, or that the wanted ads in the Sunday paper were separated according to gender? Gender
discrimination has been an ongoing battle in the work force for many decades, centuries even.
Woman have long fought to have equality in the work place and have come a long way.
Unfortunately, genderdiscrimination still exists in modern times and there is still a struggle for
women when it comes to equal rights obtaining a job, advancement from current positions, and the
ability to earn an equal salary to a male peer. History shows that for hundreds of years womanhave
been the minority in the work force. A look back at the early nineteenth century shows that the
United States was focused on agriculture. During this time, women of all ages participated as
workers in the family business without an earned income. Their roles were to actively share in
the families agricultural business without pay. It was during the progress of industrialization
that brought about the need for new jobs and employees. While this led to a decrease of
economic activity among married women, it increased the participation of single women in paid
labor prior to the year 1850. This was due to the new methods of production which allowed for
unskilled workers to take the place of skilled labor. Women who had worked as servants for low
pay quickly turned to mill towns where they could earn a higher income while

What Is The Theme Of Coole Park
Assignment 1: Close Reading Coole Park, 1929 is a poem written by W.B Yeats. This poem is
part of the works the poet wrote in the third phase of his career; a phase characterized by the
retrospective of his personal experience within the framework of Irish history. Through this poem,
W.B Yeats broaches the theme of memory, the artistic creation and pays tribute to Lady Gregory
and her estate.
Memory is a central theme in Coole Park . This poem is constituted of four stanzas of eight verses
each, all structured in Iambic pentameters. Each stanza is written in Ottava Rima, a very popular
poetic form associated to Italian epic poems during the Renaissance. This rhyming stanza form

In the ninth verse, the poet gives a symbolic dimension to a blade; There Hyde before he had
beaten into prose; That noble blade the Muses buckled on (v9 10). Here, the alliteration in b
reinforces the musicality of the verse. In the verses twelve and thirteen, the poet paints a portrait of
Douglas Hyde and John Synge. The full rhyme pose (v11) and those (v13) associates the two
characters. The repetition of the words There and that in the stanza emphasizes the descriptive
dimension of the verses (v9, v10, v11, v13). The musicality of the stanza is enhanced by the
internal rhyme of the verse 14; Impetuous men, Shawe Taylor and Hugh Lane . In the third
stanza, these literary figures are compared to swallows; They came like swallows and like
swallows went (v17). This imagery of the swallows echoes with the first verse of the poem. Lady
Gregory s depiction of a poet s guide is emphasized by an enjambment between the verse eighteen
and nineteen. Finally, Coole Park is described as the heart of artistic creation through a comparison

Oscar Romero and the Role of the Catholic Church in El...
The Role of Romero vs. the Catholic Church: The Salvadoran Civil War The tragedies of the civil
war in El Salvador brought focus to the many issues of oppression, under representation, and
inequality apparent amongst the Salvadoran working class during the later twentieth century. The
outbreak of the war began much like civil wars in neighboring countries, consisting of the lower
class demanding land and policy reformations, as elites feared the uprisings would result in socialist
geared politics that jeopardized their status. Amidst the fighting between the two social classes, the
Catholic Church, as a whole, maintained a somewhat neutrality status and refused to publically
support one group over the other. Thus, much opposition to the... Show more content on

Author Edward T. Brett argues that Romero had a very prophetic approach [that] was a highly
effective method of leadership during his three year tenure of office (Brett 717). He uses the
term prophetic to refer to the similar ways in which Romero preached his sermons to the
underprivileged campesinos in order to also publically represent them, much like Jesus
preached to the poor to represent the persecuted Christians. However, the term itself can be
problematic because also like Jesus, Romero was tormented by his fellow bishops for catering to
the needs of the poor. Not all bishops and clergymen at the time had captured the essence of
liberation theology teachings and feared they were too radical to preach to the campesinos.
However, Romero believed that the equality of Salvadorans was more important than their
integration into the elite society. He focused many of his preachings on the need to put an end to
violence and determine a right from wrong. In Romero s last sermon, just before he called for
soldiers to refuse to obey orders, (Wood 27) he gave special attention to the need to reinstall
distinct human rights within a country in its own exodus (Romero 3) and that both groups alike
should call for, respect for the dignity of the person, hope for humanity s common good, and the
transcendence that look before all to God and only

The Epidemic Of Newark s Past Society
There are three side to every story: his side, her side, and the truth. Sometimes the truth gets
twisted, but through the different people s perspectives one can understand how a turn of events
occur. There a three pivotal events that are a part of Newark s ongoing history; they are the
Cholera epidemic that killed tons of people, the destruction of high rise public houses, and the
Summer Riots that occurred in 1967. Through various people s perspectives we can understand
how individuals of Newarks past society endured the struggles that they were faced with. In a
developing society where a variety people come together, different customs and practices, as well
as diseases, are exchanged. One example of an outbreak of a disease is the... Show more content on

Many immigrants that come to Newark are forced to live in tight spaces, and even tenements,
meaning that those who are the most targeted by this disease are the immigrants that come to
Newark. Most people of higher classes began to accuse immigrants of bringing the disease,
rather than focusing on eradicating the disease. Everyone wants to point fingers at immigrants
because it is easier to point out those who are new to town, and are not pivotl to society. For
these immigrants, many of them are victims to this disease all due to being forced in a poor
lifestyle because of their financial status. Stuart Galishoff, a writer, also touches on Cholera
hitting Newark, and writes a book titled, Newark, the Nation s unhealthiest City . In this book he
claims, The epidemic raged out of control until late August. By a quirk of fate the last case
occurred in early September in the same house in which the diseases had first appeared some
two months earlier. In all, 127 had contracted Cholera and 65 died (54). Through his perspective
of Cholera coming to Newark, the audience is given a time frame of when this occurred, as well
as the toll it took on its residents. This Information can be used to see how a disease can come to
a city, collect victims, and then eventually leave. Cholera is a disease that is a part of Newark s
past, and through Galishoff words it becomes evident that Cholera is a cyclic disease whose

Native Son Adaptation
In Richard Wright s novel, Native Son, the overall issue was with the main character, Bigger
Thomas, being accused of raping Mary. The film tells the story of the main character Bigger
Thomas, a 20 year old African American man who is growing up in poverty on the Southside of
Chicago. Native Son displays a series of events and decisions made by Bigger that will alter his
life. The purpose of this essay to examine Richard Wright s film adaptation of Native Son, and to
argue that Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty of murder due to being present with the victim,
him covering up the crime, and his history of violence. Wright s 1940 novel, Native Son had
stirred up real controversy by shocking the sensibilities of both black and white America. Wright
was inspired to make his readers feel the reality of race relations and that is how Native Son
came about. Wright used his observances throughout the previous decade to sculpt the inherent
challenges faced by the main character, Bigger Thomas, a 20 year old African American in the
South side of Chicago. In a time, when the Great Depression was impacting the economy, the
Dust Bowl was crossing the country, and an anti lynching bill failed to pass in Congress, the
context of history became an important facet of Wright s creation of the film adaptation. Firstly,
Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty because he was with Mary on the day she was last seen by
anyone. Mary, Mr. Dalton s daughter, frightens and angers Bigger by ignoring the social

Abolishing Slavery
Jimmy Watson History May 13, 2009 Abolishing Slavery The American civil war had a
profound effect on the lives of slaves. It ultimately resulted in the abolition of slavery. Slaves
first arrived in America in Virginia in 1619. The Underground Railway was a way by which
slaves could find freedom. This was a method for northerners to help escaped slaves to find a
place to live in free states or Canada. Free black Americans were usually the ones to plan and
helped with the Underground Railroad. It is believed about 50,000 to 100,000 people used the
Underground Railroad to escape to their freedom. The Civil War was fought partly over the issue
of slavery. The people that lived in the North opposed the slavery more than the people in... Show

In the final days of the war, the Confederacy even considered using blacks as soldiers, offering
freedom as a reward. When given the choice, slaves made it very clear that they wanted
emancipation. The overwhelming majority of slaves, however, remained on their plantations in the
countryside. Even then these slaves in the Southern interior found ways to demonstrate their desire
for freedom. They did not stop working, but they did considerably less work than they had before
the war. Lincoln detested slavery, but he doubted whether blacks and whites could ever live in
America in a condition of equality. The slaves ran away in massive numbers during the spring and
summer of 1862, freeing themselves. Abolitionists who insisted that the war should be one for the
freedom of the slaves confronted Lincoln at home. The Emancipation proclamation in January 1863
did not legally free a single slave. Through the proclamation Lincoln silenced his abolitionist critics
in the North, defused interventionist sentiment abroad, and invigorated black slave resisters to
continue their efforts in the South. Near the end of the war, abolitionists were concerned that the
Emancipation Proclamation would be construed solely as a war act and no longer apply once
fighting ended. They were also increasingly anxious to secure the freedom of all slaves, not just
those freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. Thus pressed, Lincoln staked a

  • 2. The Importance Of Social Class In America Social class largely affects the ways of life of all Americans These divisions of social class are characterized by viewpoints, for example, lifestyle and income but education is a huge part of deciding one s social class. That does not imply that it will decide a person s achievements but with many individuals with higher education normally have better jobs with benefits and higher wages too. Those of the privileged have higher education rather than those of middle and lower class. Around 14% of mortgage holders are either behind on their home payments or are putting up for foreclosure. The economic crash and foreclosure crisis that occurred in 2008 was not made by one issue but rather a blend of issues. People obtained more than they could bear the cost of however they were permitted, and now and again empowered, to do this by bankers which institutions that should be helping the people to finance. • 3. Japanese Female Divers Essay On the other hand, the history of Japanese female divers stretches back far longer than that of the Koreans. The practice originated at least two thousand years ago, and may have a connection to the migration of Japanese. As fishermen were moving along the southwest islands of Japan and towards the main island, women were reported to have collected shellfish and seaweed. Such catches would provide much needed salt in the diet and some items such as abalone or turbo play a part in religious ceremonies, and also could be traded for other products. Jewelry could also be made out of the pearls and abalone shells they collected. The Japanese have a wide variety of diving practices and even wear different types of clothing depending on the region; such diversity is evidence of free diving as a long standing tradition with older origins.... Like the Koreans, free diving did not start out as a female dominated profession. It is significant to note that the male characters for ama, (diver in Japanese) have the connotation of sea warrior or more appropriately, samurai of the sea. But the female characters for ama simply mean sea woman, and the term itself is now assumed to refer to females. The difference in meaning is most likely due to the fact that men would use their hands or spears to grab fish, while the women collected shellfish and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Artists like Diego VelГ Ўzquez, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Sandro Botticelli could actually see the essence of art which motivated them to give the world a canvas of questionable knowledge. Later another artist emerged with the same ability, FridaKahlo. She used her life as her canvas; allowed people to view the world from behind the surrealistic doors. • 13. Importance Of Dominance In Shakespeare s Sonnet 94 In Sonnet 94, Shakespeare shows a separation between those who have, but do not flaunt and those who have and use to satisfy others. Society s preferred standards where flawed during the 17th century. They played a part in how people were criticized. Shakespeare has a strong approval for those who convey themselves in a humble manner, but deeply opposed the individuals who do not; all in all, those who are differentiated should not be bad mouthed because of their actions, but helped to become better. Shakespeare starts Sonnet 94 with situations that present modesty between the ones who show characteristics that others may not, but these individuals do not flaunt or boast about what they have. Shakespeare has a deep approval them, but maybe they are unaware of what they have or it could be that they are subconscious about themselves, which can cause them to act shelled. First, Shakespeare introduced a person with a high authority than an ordinary individual. Dominance does not initiate enforced obedience on account of possessing the higher position. Some people subconsciously utilize their authority for their own personal benefit, but for those who do not, as Shakespeare stated in Sonnet 94 (line 5), rightly do inherit heaven s grace . After freeing him, he turned into a little green man who granted him 3 wishes. Mr.Peters used one of his wishes to get a wife, and saved the others in case something went wrong. Aiken uses foreshadowing and indirect characterization to portray a theme that being a selfish and rude person never goes well in the end. Aiken used foreshadowing in The Third Wishto convey a theme that being a selfish and rude person never goes well in the end. In the beginning of the short story, Mr.Peters was granted three wishes after freeing a swan from a thorn bush. The swan then turned into a little man. This was who granted Mr.Peters the wishes and he warned him that people always use the wishes for selfish endeavors, it always ended in catastrophe. Mr. Peters, already knowing he was going to be smart with his wishes claimed that, He knew very well that the gift of three magical wishes was one which brought trouble more often than not.(...) He decided to use his first wish and keep the other two in case of emergency. (Mr.Peters pg 56) These few sentences tell the reader that he is going to use his wishes wisley instead of using it for something impractical. He knows that wishing for something that is life change never really ended up good in the end. It s always worse than when it started. This is why Mr.Peters was smart with his wishes. This little example of foreshadowing is not the only one the author used. In the middle of the passage his wife that he wished for, was longing for her old life back. Mr.Peters knew she was not happy. The passage claims that one night he heard her cry, Rhea! Rhea! I can t understand what you say! Oh wait for me, take me with you! • 18. Capitalism And Free Market Capitalism For this assignment we are asked to explain free market capitalism. First of all, capitalism has its own meaning while free market does too. Capitalism defines as an economic system based on ownership of factors of produce (Nickolas, 2017). The primary tactics of capitalism is when the owners compete with one another along with motivates a general profit by its private owner without any outside companies interference of outside sale forces (Nickolas, 2017). Free market plays a role by producing and pricing the products/services. Basically, this is what free market is all about! Free market is an economic system that you use strictly for supply and demand with or without the small aspects of government regulations. In this process, generally the buyer and the seller makes deals freely and only when coming to an agreement on the price of a product and or service. Capitalism is the center of interest to create wealth. Also, too, fabricate gains ownerships of capital and factors of producing versus to free market. Free Market also focuses on wealth, products, and services. One requirement of capitalism is that it requires a free market economic system to bring in success. If a free market follow and adhere to all regulations it can potentially become one of the most unique agents of collective human progress. The United States has fully lived up to John Kenneth Galbraith s observation half a century ago that modern U.S. capitalism generates private wealth and public squalor (Foster et al., 2017).Capitalism has served us enormously well. Yet while it has helped to reduce global poverty and expand access to health care and education, it has come at an enormous cost: unsustainable levels of public and private debt, excessive consumerism, and, frankly, too many people who are left behind. Any system that prevents large numbers of people from fully participating or excludes them altogether will ultimately be rejected. And that s what you see happening. People are asking, What are we doing here? (McKinsey Company, 2017). Creative Capitalism is a systematic approach to government businesses (Nickolas, 2017). Michelangelo s The Last Judgement Analysis [1] In Christian theology, it is said that during the Judgement Day , the end of mankind, Jesus Christ, the Savior of Mankind will depart from Heaven to take his Redeemed saints with him to Heaven on high. As the intercessor between an omnipotent God and His flawed creations, Christ is often depicted as a kind, loving peacemaker who understands the struggles of mankind. When given life in paintings and artwork, He is often draped in white robes, seemingly connoting purity and peace, with a countenance intended to convince viewers to come to Him for forgiveness and eternal joy. However, Michelangelo took a dramatically different approach when he was commissioned to draw the fresco he painted to adorn the altar of the Sistine Chapel.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite all of the piece s efforts to force viewers attention to Christ, His own face is turned away from the line of sight of the viewer, unlike many contemporary works which focus on His face to show Him as compassionate and loving. In the absence of loving kindness, he becomes a concrete, unmoving agent of judgement. His features resemble vengeful and often unsympathetic Greek deities, a parallel to illustrate how Christ s mercy will be unattainable during the Last Judgement. Through emphasizing the finite nature of the audience s opportunity to repent from their sins and seek Christ, The Last Judgement is able to simulate the sense of regret and hopelessness that the characters in the piece currently have but are unable to do anything about. Thus, by using remorse, Michelangelo implies that when the Last Judgement does come, the audience too would regret wrongs in their life that they cannot fix now that Christ s forgiveness has expired. By creating this dark setting, Michelangelo underscores the idea that all hope will be lost during the Last Judgement, implying that the audience needs to align their lives with Christ before then. This proclamation stated that if any seceded state wished to be Presidentially pardoned, they only had to take the Oath of Loyalty, which stated that the state had to Faithfully support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of the States thereunder (Wikipedia/Loyalty Oath), meaning that they had to promise not to secede from the Union ever again. With this power, the radicals passed the First Reconstruction Act in 1867, which divided the South into five military districts. To get rid of the military, the state had to have a Constitutional Convention and in it create a government acceptable to the Congress. In order to be acceptable to Congress, each state had to allow the blacks voting power by ratifying the fourteenth amendment which gave that suffrage to the blacks. By 1870, all the districts had created such a government and were readmitted to the Union. The only problem with this were the carpetbaggers who tried to manipulate the blacks who were in control into making bad choices. Memi And Sabu And The Seated Statue Of Gudea The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea are two historic statues dating back 2000 years B.C. that have been displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The subjects represented in both statues display a strength in human relationships. They also both bear emotional and physical similarities. Memi and Sabu and Gudea also have many differing characteristics such as their medium and historical value. This essay will further describe the similarities and differences between The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea. The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu is constructed of limestone. Limestone is an organic sedimentary rock composed of skeletal fragments of marine organisms such as coral and mollusks. It is very common and is still frequently used in architecture and art. It is long lasting and stands up well to exposure. Landmarks such as the Great Pyramids were constructed of limestone (Cassar, 2010). The seated Statue of Gudea is sculpted of diorite. Diorite is the traditional base material in the construction of roads and parking areas. It is considered difficult to sculpt with because of its hardness and variable composition. For those reasons, it is not a stone often used by sculptors nowadays. It was popular among ancient sculptors of the Middle East (Diorite, n.d.). The Royal Acquaintances Memi and Sabu and The Seated Statue of Gudea are similar in size but still relatively small in size. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition to the actual state of the restaurant the figure head of a fast food industry must also capture the minds of potential consumer via a seemingly moronic yet intelligent and sentient being. A perfect example of this would be the clown from McDonald s, his bizarre and inhuman looks capturing the visual attention of the consumer while the mild mannered psychotic behavior both tantalizes us and fills us with fear of the consequences of not consuming the double cheese burger. Another prime example would be the burger king (view a commercial with the king and all of this will make perfect sense) and his disturbing imagery and behavior, simply appearing at your bed side offering flame broiled delights always with a exceedingly morbid and paralyzing smile suggesting that the burgers are poisoned and that one will die as a result of eating them (of course the commercial never shows the fate of the kings victim). In retrospect while it may appear that the gimmicks themselves do not actually draw the consumer in the imagery mixed with their events taking place seem to have captured and reeled in the consumers mind and thus achieved the companies goal. I believe that through my interpretation of Aristotle s philosophy, that we all have friends when seeing the world through Aristotle s philosophy. Aristotle describes friendshipas being made up of mutual feelings of good intentions between two individuals. According to him, there are 3 different types of friendships that make up the base of social interactions. The first out of 3 types of friendships that he talks about is Utility based friendships. These types of friendships are based on the benefits/trading that the two individuals can gain from each other. These are most often formed by individuals with opposite personalities. The decision making process involved in forming these types of relationships are based on long term benefit, or time to benefit ratio. This type of relationship is characterized as shallow, weak, and easily dissolved. The most problems occur in this type of relationship due to the deviation in valuing one another s service. For example, Billy and Bob are friends/roommates, Billy made a painting as a gift for Bob in exchange for paying his half of the rent, Bob believes that while being appreciative of the painting, that it is worth less than the price of the rent he couldn t pay and insists that Bob either starts pulling his own weight or hits the road to find additional income and a different ... However, the term itself can be problematic because also like Jesus, Romero was tormented by his fellow bishops for catering to the needs of the poor. Not all bishops and clergymen at the time had captured the essence of liberation theology teachings and feared they were too radical to preach to the campesinos. Many immigrants that come to Newark are forced to live in tight spaces, and even tenements, meaning that those who are the most targeted by this disease are the immigrants that come to Newark. Most people of higher classes began to accuse immigrants of bringing the disease, rather than focusing on eradicating the disease. Everyone wants to point fingers at immigrants because it is easier to point out those who are new to town, and are not pivotl to society. The film tells the story of the main character Bigger Thomas, a 20 year old African American man who is growing up in poverty on the Southside of Chicago. Native Son displays a series of events and decisions made by Bigger that will alter his life. The purpose of this essay to examine Richard Wright s film adaptation of Native Son, and to argue that Bigger Thomas proves to be guilty of murder due to being present with the victim, him covering up the crime, and his history of violence. Wright s 1940 novel, Native Son had stirred up real controversy by shocking the sensibilities of both black and white America. Wright was inspired to make his readers feel the reality of race relations and that is how Native Son came about. Wright used his observances throughout the previous decade to sculpt the inherent challenges faced by the main character, Bigger Thomas, a 20 year old African American in the South side of Chicago. • 46. Abolishing Slavery Jimmy Watson History May 13, 2009 Abolishing Slavery The American civil war had a profound effect on the lives of slaves. It is believed about 50,000 to 100,000 people used the Underground Railroad to escape to their freedom. The Civil War was fought partly over the issue of slavery. The people that lived in the North opposed the slavery more than the people in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the final days of the war, the Confederacy even considered using blacks as soldiers, offering freedom as a reward. When given the choice, slaves made it very clear that they wanted emancipation. The overwhelming majority of slaves, however, remained on their plantations in the countryside. Even then these slaves in the Southern interior found ways to demonstrate their desire for freedom. They did not stop working, but they did considerably less work than they had before the war. Lincoln detested slavery, but he doubted whether blacks and whites could ever live in America in a condition of equality. The slaves ran away in massive numbers during the spring and summer of 1862, freeing themselves. Abolitionists who insisted that the war should be one for the freedom of the slaves confronted Lincoln at home. The Emancipation proclamation in January 1863 did not legally free a single slave. Through the proclamation Lincoln silenced his abolitionist critics in the North, defused interventionist sentiment abroad, and invigorated black slave resisters to continue their efforts in the South. Near the end of the war, abolitionists were concerned that the Emancipation Proclamation would be construed solely as a war act and no longer apply once fighting ended. They were also increasingly anxious to secure the freedom of all slaves, not just those freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. Thus pressed, Lincoln staked a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
