Analysis Of The Movie James Bond
Goldfinger Character Analysis Rough Draft James Bond is widely known for being a cunning secret
agent who will do everything to save whatever is in danger, anything from the world to an attractive
female, and doing even more just to get the girl. This may be so in the movie depictions, but in the
novels, James Bond can be depicted as a bumbling alcoholic who stumbles onto the right answers.
James Bond s successes are circumstantial by his actions, losses, and interactions with a variety of
characters from Ian Fleming s seventh James Bond novel, Goldfinger. Ian Fleming was born on May
28, 1908 in London, United Kingdom. Fleming worked as a journalist, news agent, and merchant
banker throughout his life. During World War II, as a high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James Bond, an agent in Great Britain s Secret Service and Intelligence Agency, is sitting at an airport
in Miami, thinking about death. A man approaches Bond, a man he had met some years ago, and asks
Bond to help him with a problem he has been having; someone has been cheating him at cards. The
man introduces the cheat as Auric Goldfinger, a very wealthy British man. Bond meets Goldfinger and
watches the two men play. He goes to Goldfinger s room and sees a woman with binoculars and a
radio, looking at the card game, cheating for Goldfinger. Bond seduces the girl, Jill Masterton,
blackmails Goldfinger, and escapes with the girl. Later, back in Britain, Bond gets an assignment to
watch over Auric Goldfinger. He is the richest man in England and the government believes he is
smuggling gold out of the country. Bond goes to a golf course and happens to run into Goldfinger
again. Goldfinger asks Bond to golf, Bond accepts, and Goldfinger cheats again. Bond fools
Goldfinger and ends up beating him. Soon after, Bond follows Goldfinger on a tour through Europe.
On this tour, Bond meets a girl introduced as Tilly Soames. Later he encounters her again at
Goldfinger s compound in Switzerland. She is actually Tilly Masterton, sister of Jill Masterton, and is
out to kill Goldfinger as revenge for Goldfinger killing Jill. They are soon discovered and brought to

Virtual Private Networks
Virtual Private Networks
Abstract
With the increasing popularity of the Internet, new technologies have introduced to provide secure
access to the resources from remote clients. Virtual Private Networks are becoming the most universal
method for remote access. They enable service provider to take advantage of the power of Internet by
providing a private tunnel through the public cloud to realize cost savings and productivity
enhancements from remote access applications. VPNs securely convey information across the Internet
connection to remote users, branch offices and business partners into an extended corporate network.
This paper is an attempt to provide an overview of VPN and its services and how the ... Show more

Service provider network devices also fall into two categories
Service Provider devices (P) P devices are devices such as routers and switches within the provider
network that do not directly connect to customer networks. P devices are unaware of customer VPNs.
Service Provider Edge devices (PE) These devices connect directly to the customer networks via CE

2.2 VPN Gateways A VPN Gateway handles the high speed encryption and decryption methods,
provides tunneling services for passing data and generally makes sure that a VPN connection is
established. Gateway can be software, or built on a firewall, or a router or server, or a security
appliance.
2.3 Keys Keys are used for the encryption and decryption of data. Sites can choose to maintain their
own database of digital certificates (keys) for users by setting up a certificate server, or they can use
an external certificate authority.
2.4 Network There must be an internet infrastructure at both ends to provide the actual transmission
medium. Some of these components may be built on a single device or spread over many devices over
several sites.

Social Media Problems
The first time many people engage in the usage of social media is during their teenage years. Many
individuals turn to social media for factual information and later discover what they read or seen wasn
t true. This is because yellow journalism publications provide false information, and when it s later
corrected not as many people are informed because the media has moved on to another event. Social
media has a fear to many people because the National Security Agency can monitor social media
activity and read private messages by simply entering a person s username into their system. Social
media is a business and interrupts personal privacy. Social media is a problem.
Social media is a leading problem because it leads to shorter attention spans. The increasing prestige
of social media and the internet is actually rewiring our brain. In 2015 a study was conducted by
Microsoft. This study surveyed two thousand people as a control group and monitored the brain
activity of one hundred and twelve additional people using electroencephalograms. The results
showed that the average human attention span is rapidly declining. In the year two thousand, the
human attention span was twelve seconds. Now the human attention span is eight seconds making our
attention span shorter than that of a goldfish at nine seconds. Shortened attention spans lead to
dissatisfaction, violence, and declining sales. For example; last year Amazon had a fifty six second
delay on their, checkout process which

Negative Effects Of Assault Weapons
Assault Weapons Have a Negative Impact on the United States Imagine having a loved one who has
been killed or seriously injured in a massive shooting. Sadly, every year many families grieve the loss
of their loved ones who were victims of these horrific shootings. Due to the use of assault weapons,
many innocent civilians lose their lives. There is no reason for any noncombatant to have access to
these life threatening weapons. In order to stop this mayhem, congress must come together and
reinstate the Assault Weapon Ban. Assault weapons should be banned since they have a negative
impact on the United States.
Assault weapons create a perilous learning environment and have a negative impact on school safety.

People who have mental illness can find ways to access these weapons; which can lead to murder,
crime, and destruction. For instance, a senior English major Seung Hui Cho was allowed to purchase
bullets and a nine millimeter Glock 19 pistol from a firearms store in Roanoke Virginia. Considering
Cho had a background history of a mental illness, which should have became known in a background
check, he was still allowed to purchase this dangerous weapon. On April 19, 2007, Cho had shot and
thirty two staff members and students at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg (The Assault
Weapons Ban). The students who went to school were not expecting someone to show up and start to
kill innocent people. Now, families whose loved ones were killed in this horrific incident, left an
indelible mark on their hearts because, the thought of not having their loved ones on this earth
anymore is unbearable. Imagine having to lose a beloved family member who has been killed in a
mass shooting. This horrific incident proves that these weapons need to be banned in order to ensure
that they do not end up in the hands of the wrong people. Danger would be dispersed amongst the
citizens of the United States if these weapons end up in the wrong

Brontosaurus is an interesting dinosaur because of it s appearance, background, and habitat. The huge
long necked dinosaur looked, lived, and ate like no other dinosaur. An average adult is 20 25 meters

forelegs being shorter than the hind legs. It s long neck is flexible, and has a downward inclination, to

The Study Of Human Psychology Essay
Introduction
The study of human psychology comprises many elements to best understand human behaviour,
through theoretical perspectives on aspects including behavioural, cognitive and personality
psychology (Caponecchia, 2012). In the modern era, psychology has been recognised as one of the
foundations during learning, with individuals having different abilities and learning rates, it is
essential that tutors teach considering the individual differences students possess (Nezhad and Vahedi,
2011). Instructors have been shown to teach in their own preferred learning method, which may not
necessarily be the most appropriate style for the students. This creates loss of motivation in the
students and lower learning rates (Gailbraith and Saunders, 1987). Potentially, this is due to learners
preferring to learn within their comfort zone whilst utilizing their dominant learning style (Partridge,
1983). Teachers need to be aware of the different teaching methods out there and have an
understanding of them for ongoing refinement and success (Vaughn and Baker, 2001). There is also an
importance in recognising individuals not just for their abilities but also for their personalities and
motivation (Entwistle, 2013). Similarly, whilst undertaking any sort of leadership role, it is just as
important to be self aware of your own traits including emotions, goals and identity, in order to create
positive relationships and maintain sustainable performance (Avolio and Gardner, 2005).

community. Appiah talks about the cosmopolitanism, the way cultures interact on a daily basis. He
focuses on three main interrelated issues globalization, cultural diversity, and ethical consideration.
Franklin Foer exposes some of the world s social problems. The book travels to many different
settings throughout world and explains the problems that those areas are experiencing. It then shows
how soccer brings the people of the area together as one and helps them forget the problems and to
enjoy life. The major theme in this book is that we are all the same; that we are all human, and

Mitchell, Great source/explanation. In what ways do you see this happening: It also serves as a tool for
rich and powerful nations like the U.S to extend economic and cultural domination over poorer ones.
Brie Poor countries have taken enormous loans from wealthy countries in order to stay afloat. Paying
off the compound interest from this debt prevents them from investing resources into their own
country. For example, between 1970 and 2002, the continent of Africa received $540 billion in loans
from wealthy nations through the World Bank and IMF. African countries have paid back $550 billion
of their debt but they still owe $295 billion. The difference is the result of compound interest.
Countries cannot focus on economic or human development when they are constantly paying off debt;
these countries will continue to remain undeveloped and the rich powerful nations will continue to
extend their

From ‘Dream of Red Chamber’ to Explore the Marriage System
From Dream of Red Chamber to explore the marriage system in imperial China Dream of Red
Chamber , written by Cao Xueqin in the eighteenth century, is the first Chinese novel which used a
love tragedy to convey the message of the miserable marriage life of the Chinese. It was a common
practice for author to turn a love tragedy into a happy ending instead. For example: in The palace of
eternal youth , despite troubles in the present life, the two main characters, Li Longji and Yang
Yuhuan, were able to be with each other in their future lives after death, with the help of heavenly
Emperor. Since Dream of Red Chamber made such a breakthrough in Chinese literature, this paper

Moreover, the fact that having offspring is ranked so high in choosing a bride can also be reflect by
the seven reasons for a man to divorce his wife to be permitted, which is recorded in Liji written by
Confucius. The seven reasons are as followed: barrenness, licentiousness, failure to serve parents in
law, loquacity, theft, jealousy and dread disease. From this, it is clear that having offspring has top
priority in a marriage. Another saying of Mencius also sum up how Chinese look at the matter of
bearing offspring: There are three ways to be unfilial; having no sons is the worst. This saying
suggests that two things about having offspring. First, just like mentioned before, the importance of
having offspring in imperial China. Second, is that having offspring seems to be a duty of a son only,
hence, getting married is to fulfill the duty of a son in serving his parents instead of to be with the love
ones.
Second criterion is the social status of the bride. This is the most understandable criterion, which
many of us in the present time would still take into account when choosing partner. Back in the
imperial China, most concern would be places on the financial background. Marriage is the beginning
of a new family therefore a certain amount of money is necessary.
And the last criterion is the virtue of the bride. This is because the

I have thought most of the viewers come to Crc Art Gallery just are only Crc students. But all the

young people go around and take a quick look for all the art, sometimes they take a picture of
sculpture. A few people they ask for some question about work of art. Most of elder people take
slowly and carefully look for the works, sometime they stand in front of these art for a while. There
was an interesting scene when I worked at Gallery on the first day. There is a middle school girl who
is deaf, and her teacher use sign language to communicate with her. At that time, I did not pay
attention to the girl much because I think it is really normal conversation with a deaf person.
Suddenly, I saw she speak up for question about one sculpture of Richard Shaw. I look at my

On the second day at work, there was a guy who came in the Gallery for quick around look for all the

The Day That Changed My Life
The sun shined into the bedroom and my heavy, tired eyes eagerly opened. A huge smile was revealed
on my face and a burst of chuckles traveled across the room. The laughter of a four year old child
filled the hallways. The excitement was visible in my coffee colored eyes as I ran down the stairs. I
was elated! Today was February 4th, 2005; it was the day! This was the day that I got to finally play
dress up with my mother and baby sister. I expected this day to be the best day of my life! However, it
was also the day that changed my life for the worst.

I slipped out of my pajamas and put the frilly dress over my head. I skipped around the room while
watching the dress twirl around in majestic circles. After minutes upon minutes of prancing around the
room, I began to hear my stomach striking up a conversation with me. The growls could be heard a
mile away. In order to tame the hungry beast inside of my belly, I turned to my mom and asked her to
make me a bowl of Nissin Ramen noodles.
When I was younger, I believed that nothing was better than eating a tub of chicken noodles for
breakfast! My mom agreed to make me the soup, yet she gave me a simple warning before she left the
room. Tyra, she began, don t get that food from the microwave. You re gonna hurt yourself. Okay? She
always asked this of me before she cooked me a hot meal. All the other times, I actually listened to her
warning. This time, the warning went through one ear and out the other. For that reason, I recklessly
agreed to do what she had told me to do. Thinking that I would actually follow through with that
command, she headed downstairs with my sister to prepare my meal.
Since my room was upstairs and directly above the kitchen, I could hear my mom pulling glass dishes
out of one of the cabinets. I decided to change out of the princess dress because I did not want to risk
spilling soup all over it. I was a very messy eater! I took off the princess dress and shoved it back into

Antisemitism In The Holocaust
In contemporary society holocaust literature is considered rudimentary by intellectuals, to
continuously remind young scholars about the Third Reich and Nazi crimes against Jews. Deep
reflection allows one to understand the desperation driving the nation in their pursuit of worldwide
domination. The serious nature associated with Holocaust causes the authors to be weary as not to
lower standards by creating a pulp fiction narrative. The authors strive to positively compound the
subject s potential, and gain momentum toward standards in integrity. Therefore, these authors choose
not to resort to secularism, deriving inspiration from Jewish culture and religion. For the sake of the
reader, the balance lies at maintaining respect for self and ancestors, while also keeping audience

The problem of how to tell the survivor s story through narrative raises the question of how can you

A Reflection On The Work For Phi s Primary Mission
During collective bargaining, unionized organizations engage several nonwage issues. These issues
include management rights, union security, seniority provisions, the number of hours worked, and the
length of the union contract (Fossum, 2009, p. 318). In regards to the current employer I work for, the
following discussion will focus on my work environment, alternative work schedules, overtime
restrictions, and seniority promotions. In regards to the current employer I work for, PHI s primary
mission is to provide safe, reliable, helicopter transportation, in both oil/gas and Air medical fields. In
doing so, specifically the oil/gas industry, PHI employs aircraft mechanics, field avionics members,
pilots, and support staff to fulfill its objectives. Currently, the base at which I am located consists of 40
aircraft mechanics, one field avionics representative, several pilots, support staff and two maintenance
supervisors, located in Houma, Louisiana. While each are assigned specific tasking, collectively, all
parties are responsible in meeting operational requirements i.e. helicopter transportation. These
requirements, via responsibilities and guidelines, such as, part accountability, paperwork sign off, and
routine maintenance are accountable to the FAA. Regarding alternative work schedules, this is the first
non wage issue, which affects my current employer. Because of limited employee availability, which
meets FAA requirements, most employees live non local. This allows

Harriet Tubman Greatest Achievements
What Was Harriet Tubman s Greatest Achievement?
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery. Thomas Jefferson once said. Harriet Tubman was a
strong and brave African American woman. She was born in Dorchester County, Maryland. She grew
up in Bucktown, Maryland. She grew up like a neglected weeds (Background Essay). It showed that
her childhood is not very lovely. At the age of 12, she was doing field work and hauling logs. When
her master died, in 1849, she makes her life changing decision, I had reasoned this out of my mind;
there was one of two things I had right to; liberty or death; if I could not have one I would have the
other (Background Essay). This showed that she is going to fight for her and others freedom but if she
does not get freedom then she would get death. Although Harriet Tubman s achievements as a
caregiver in Upstate New York and being a spy leader of the Combahee River raid were important, but
her achievement of being a conductor of the Underground Railroad was the greatest. One of Harriet
Tubman s noteworthy achievements was her work as a caregiver in Upstate New York. She cared for
the needy people, The aged, ... the babe deserted, the epileptic, the blind, the paralyzed, ... all found
shelter and welcome. (Doc E). This showed that she cared and welcomed all kinds of people. Much of
Harriet Tubman s time spent taking care of the poor people in her home. Harriet often had six to eight
people in her care. (Doc E) This showed

What Are The Similarities Between The Colour Purple And...
The Bluest Eye V.S The Color Purple
In my essay, I ll be comparing and contrasting Pecola from novel The Bluest Eye , and Celie from the
movie The Color Purple . In the novel, The Bluest Eye , Pecola, and from the movie The Color Purple
, Celie, share many similarities in their stories. But they also have many differences that make them
who they are. They re both very young girls, going through a lot of struggles that you really wouldn t
be able to imagine happening, yet at the same time you can even compare it to yourself. To start off, I
d like to make a few comparisons about Pecola and Celie. Things that are similar between the two
characters is their lives. Pecola and Celie are both very young girls. Between the ages of 11 15. They
go through things that no child, nor anyone should go through. Like their beauty, or their sexual
innocence. Not only that, they re similar into how they see themselves, and what they go through with
their family. But at some points, Celie also shares a similarity to Geraldine. A black woman who lives
like a white woman. For example, getting married to do house work, and to please the man. Both
Celie and Geraldine don t feel any type of love towards their supposed significant other, but to another
living thing. For Geraldine, its her black pet cat, and for Celie, it s her little sister, Netty The loss of
innocence is what both characters share. Pecola, while at home doing house work, her father Cholly,
stumbles in drunk. For a while, he stands there and looks at Pecola. Imagining her as a younger
version of Pauline, Pecola s mother and Chollys wife. As Pecola s cleaning, Cholly makes a move on
her. Though it s not the first time he tried something like this to Pecola, he did succeed. Right in the
kitchen is where Pecola is raped by Cholly, taking away her innocence and leaving her pregnant. But
she loses the baby. Just like Celie. Celie, after her mother s death, is left with her younger sister and
father. Being the big sister, she does everything in her power to protect younger sibling, such as
protecting her from their father sexually assaulting her. Celie, after getting raped by her father, gets
pregnant, twice. She loses both babies.

The Tale Of The 4 Train
The tale of the 4 train depicts the story of the type of people that already live in Jerome Avenue, and
those who don t. As the 4 train keeps going uptown towards the Bronx, there are less white people and
t people of color become the majority of the subway riders. Eventually the train makes its last stop in
Manhattan when it reaches the 125th street stop, the train is then filled black and brown faces, and
there aren t any other white faces unless its game day at the Yankee Stadium. The people that are
coming from one of the richest zip codes, Wall Street, and those in between are long gone; and the
people that have endured the long train ride uptown are left to ride the train along Jerome Avenue.
This image somehow reflects the white flight that occurred decades earlier in the Bronx, as people of
color settled while white people moved out as the borough experienced urban decay. Not only did the
Bronx survive, but so did the people of color that dealt and endured the harsh realities that still lingers
in the Bronx in present day.
New York City has gone through drug epidemics, high levels of poverty, white flight and other factors
that contributed to urban decay. However, the Bronx became the national poster city for urban decay,
famously known for its arsonry that plagued the borough. The Bronx could not shake off for decades
the quote that described its suffering, when the media announced The Bronx is burning. Although the

Golf Course Engineering Research Paper
Passion project was an exciting, but difficult year long process. I had my doubts about my topic, but in
the end I am extremely happy I chose what I did. For my passion project, I decided to research golf
course architecture. It has been difficult at times but no matter the challenge I have overcome it to get
to this point. Golf course architecture may seem like an easy job to take over, or you may think that it
doesn t take a lot of effort, and you d be completely wrong. The thoughts that have to run through your
mind while designing a golf course are endless. When designing a golf course you have to think of
scenarios as a player and think to yourself, How would I play this hole? , or What would make this

I believe my time management was extremely successful because I was able to adjust my original
plans to fit the time I had remaining. As stated previously, I had planned on designing 3 final products,
a 3d model, a virtual 3d model, as well as a drawing. As the year progressed I had to adapt to the fact
that there was going to be no way that I would be able to finish all three of those final products by the
deadline. After I finished designing my first hole on my drawing, I realized that this was going to have
to be my main, if not my only, final product. I was able to identify the issue with my plan, and modify
it to fit the amount of time I had remaining, leaving myself a good path to success. I believe I might ve
been able to fit more than one of the final products in, but I didn t want to be forced to rush, or be
stressed because passion project is supposed to be a positive experience. I am happy with the decision
I made on this because I think it allowed me to really give 100% effort towards my drawing, and draw
it to the best of my ability. Another decision I had to make as research for passion project was winding

Summary
Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) is a complex, heritable, and metabolic disease. And
understanding the genetic underpinnings of T2D is a pivotal topic in complex traits analysis. We
aimed to use meta analysis and multi omics studies to investigate the genetic architecture of type 2
diabetes.
Methods In this study, 243,218 individuals were included from three cohorts: DIAbetes Genetics
Replication And Meta analysis (DIAGRAM), Genetic Epidemiology Research on Adult Health and

The Rock Of Gibraltars In The 1790s
Colonization of Gibraltar The Rock of Gibraltar towers over the land. Gibraltar has served both as a
sacred sacrificial site to a towering fortress, and has shown up time and time again in European
history. Due to its strategic location, Gibraltar has been involved in many wars from the Spanish
Succession to World War II. The rock lies at the neck of the Strait of Gibraltar, the last point before
Mediterranean joins the Atlantic. Here, five million years ago, the Atlantic waters breached the Strait
of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean was created. The history of Gibraltar, like so much in 1700s
Europe, is part of the tug of war between the English and Spanish. To this day, Gibraltar remains a
contested country between these two nations. Gibraltar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gibraltar finally fell into British hands as part of the War of the Spanish Succession. An operation
against the French, it was intended to prevent the French from inheriting the Spanish throne. The
allied forces of the British and Dutch intended to drive through the Mediterranean to pressure France.
In doing so, they would alleviate some of the pressures facing their forces within the Atlantic and the
Caribbean. They hoped this expedition into the Mediterranean would aid them in establishing a
bridgehead in which they could pressure Madrid. In May 1704, Admiral Rooke took 49 ships into the
Mediterranean Sea. They were diverted from Nice when they received news that two fleets of
opposition had entered the Mediterranean. This force would boast 95 ships, and would be virtually
unassailable. The British and Dutch needed a safe harbor where they could plan their next move. They
wanted Cadiz but feared its garrisons. Then Prince Hesse, leader of the marine forces, suggested
Gibraltar. Gibraltar was sure to not be as garrisoned as Cadiz. On August 1st, the fleet entered
Gibraltar Bay. By the 6th, Gibraltar was claimed. Many of the native inhabitants would flee from the
oppression of the British and Dutch forces. The exiles fled to San Rocque, where they created a new

Discussing Charlie Sheen And Mental Health
For this paper, I was very interested in discussing Charlie Sheen and mental health. Charlie Sheen,
born Carlos Irwin Estevez in New York City, is 49 years old with 5 children and has been divorced
three times. I chose him for two reasons. First, I enjoy him as an actor and watching what he stars in.
Second, there are a lot of speculations as to what is actually wrong with him in terms of his
psychological health. I want to find a clear diagnosis for his problems and state of mind. I am
diagnosing Sheen with Bipolar disorder which is categorized as an Axis I disorder, in the DSM V.
Bipolar disorder affects approximately 7.5 million people eighteen years or older in any given year
(Mohr, 2013). Of the three types of bi polar disorder, I am diagnosing him with type I bipolar disorder,
which is characterized by alternating depressive episodes and one or more manic episodes. Manic
episodes are periods of abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive or irritable mood (Mohr,
2013). During mania someone exhibits extreme mood swings with irritability and sudden outbursts of
misplaced rage, work output is decreased, and they may go on spending sprees or engage in
promiscuity (Mohr, 2013). He must exhibit at least three of the following symptoms in order to be
correctly diagnosed with the disorder. The symptoms for type I bipolar disorder are: decreased need
for sleep, inflated self esteem or grandiosity, distractibility, more talkative than usual, increase in goal

Its importance role of providing a platform for unions to negotiate and bargain with their respective
airlines has minimized or prevented the extent of the damages strikes have on the airline industry.
Strikes, such as the one by ALPA, have been proven to be disastrous with regard to public interest.
RLA s role cannot be taken lightly as an absence of such an act would be extremely detrimental to the
airline industry and ultimately, United States commerce.
Although the RLA has proven to be effective, it is not without its shortcomings. Its loopholes and
limitation can and will be exploited as proven in the case of FedEx. Hence, it has to constantly be

were to stay relevant with the ever changing times. Workers should be making the rights on whether or

Kmart’s Supply Chain Disconnect
Effective retailing technology allows companies to manage inventory by efficiently storing, shipping,
and stocking items that its customers want. Inventory management is the key to a company s success
or failure, and Kmart seems to be the poster child of poor supply chain management. Since as far back
as Joseph Antonini s leadership, Kmart has had logistics issues (Young, 2002). Another recent CEO,
Chuck Conaway, went so far as to admit that supply chain management was the Achilles Heel of
Kmart (Carr Cone, 2001). This paper will examine how investing in redundancy, having an increase
velocity in sensing and responding, and by building an adaptive supply chain community could have
reduced the risk that is damaging to a supply chain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Certainly all steps in the right direction, just way too late.
Invest in redundancy The one thing that Kmart did do was invest in redundancy. Unfortunately, their
supply chain has always been behind the times, as its regular out of stock notices on hot items
indicate, while causing an overflow of less popular products. The lack of real time data access resulted
in higher inventory carrying costs, poor buying decisions, and increased markdowns when products
did not sell as anticipated. Financially, it has resulted in lower sales and lower profit margins per
square foot. Kmart earns $245 whereas Target earns $275 and Wal Mart $440. Kmart s gross margins
are 2.0 to 3.0 percent whereas Target s are 5.5 to 7.0 percent and Wal Mart s are 5.5 to 6.5 percent
(Atlas Partners Watertown Capital, 2002).
Conclusion
If Wal Mart needed a distribution center, they would build on in Florida, they would build one in
Texas, and they would build one in California. Even without the additional warehouses, Wal Mart had
the advantage of better information systems. They knew what was selling and what was not selling in
the stores whereas Kmart was just staying with the same old, same old, and did not bother to reinvest
in its infrastructure logistics and inventory control. Increasing the number of deliveries would not have
made a difference, however, because Kmart s information

Aylmer s Character In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
In the short story, The Birthmark by Nathaniel Hawthorne, a crooked romance takes place between a
scientist and his wife. The narrator tells the story of Aylmer, a brilliant scientist and philosopher,
becoming obsessed with the removal of a birthmark on his wife, Georgiana. The birthmark is in the
shape of a tiny hand on the cheek of her face, which symbolizes humanity in the story. If it wasn t for
the birthmark, Aylmer believes his wife would be perfect, although no one is human unless you are

Censorship In China Research Paper
China s Method of Censorship Online In an average, everyday American life after school or work they
would go home and do homework, or eat some kind of snack. If they have any special plans or a sport
so to speak, they would do those sorts of things, but if not this is usually when the technology starts to
come into play. Laptops, computers, tablets, phones, Ipods. All these things have access to the
internet, better yet, they thrive on it. All of these electronic devices almost have no use without the
internet. All this information and knowledge, uncensored and completely open to the public eye, this
is what it is like in one place, but it s slightly different in another. In China they might follow the same
rhyme or reason, but over all the internet, time is generally shortened. This is because of how limited
the internet is. China s internet is censored by a firewall the Chinese government put up. The Chinese
government blocks almost all communication sites, makes large companies censor their online content
if they want to be allowed on the Chinese internet, and is doing all this without the bulk of their
population finding out. Sending an email, posting a selfie, tweeting, or even just updating your status,

Marching Band Strengths
1.) What are three of your strengths that will help to set you apart from other candidates seeking this
position?
I think that my strongest strength this time around is my experience. After three years of varsity
marching band, I feel like I have the ability to guide the incoming freshmen, along with the
underclassmen and fellow seniors to become better marchers. Another thing that I have is that I can
relate to the trombone section. I know more than anyone that the trombone section can get quite
detracted at times, myself included, but since I ve matured but still have fun with them, a feel like they
will be more inclined to listen to me when I say it s time to focus up compared to the times when its
okay to be a little more lax. The final strength that I have is my playing and memorizing. My freshman
year was hard because I didn t know my music as well as the seniors, and kinda learned it from
hearing them play it. This also works as a confirmation to people that are playing the music, because if
it s the same then they know that they re playing it right as well. ... Show more content on

Even though I got much better at staying focused over the course of last years marching band season, I
still have a lot of room to improve. The second weakness is the lack of control that I have on the

demanding my fellow section to be good even though I m not all the time.

Not to say that they are not signs of spirits, because an orb is a manifested sphere of energy.
Sometimes they are visible by the human eye but most of the time they are only viewable through
photographic lenses. Energy is plain and simple, energy everything you see and touch has energy in it
no matter what it is. Take the elements for example. Earth, wind, water, and fire. These elements have
mass amounts of energy that some people attempt to harness for their own good. Such as making a
Psy ball in the palm of their hand. Psy pronounced sigh is the act of making an orb in your hand. It s
not evil or fake. I have read many cases of this event. There are people that practice pyrokinesis and it
is not the Hollywood classic of people making huge balls of fire and throwing them at things burning
them to the ground. It is more or less drawing the energy from the fire and using it whether it be to
create a psy ball or to get in touch with yourself. You can find energy in music. Have you ever
witnessed somebody playing an instrument closing their eyes and enjoying it to the fullest? I know it
happens to me all the time. I feel at one with the guitar. Just feeling the vibrations from the wood go

How Anti Forensic Tools Work As Well As Looking At The...
1. Introduction The aim of this report is to investigate where and how anti forensic tools work as well
as looking at the challenges forensic investigators are faced when such tools are used. After anti
forensic tools are used certain artefacts will be left behind, this report will also cover the procedures
and difficulties when trying to uncover these artefacts as well as the tools used to find them. Anti
Forensic (AF) techniques are the actions which are aimed to prevent forensic investigators analysing
the case effectively since the AF tools are used to reduce or the quantity and quality of useful
information. Anti forensics is yet to have its own definition however this is expected as it is still a
relatively unexplored field despite the fact cybercrime levels are growing every day. There have been
several AF definitions defined however these definitions only focus on certain parts of anti forensics.
Peron and Legary came to a definition which I feel fits which is limit the identification, collection,
collation and validation of electronic data. (Peron and Legary, 2005). Data hiding is a commonly used
AF technique which is defined as the art of hiding the fact that communication is taking place, by the
hiding of information in other information (Tyagi, 2012, p.120). Data is hiding is used to essentially
removing data from view so it is far less likely to be uncovered meaning that it won t be used in the
forensic investigation. The evidence will not be changed or

Mycenaean Fortifications
Late Helladic fortification walls on the Greek mainland are found surrounding citadels, not the entire
city or site. The citadels seem to have housed central administration and housing for an elite class of
citizens. They were built on hills, presumably as another layer of fortification. I will examine the sites
of Gla, Midea, Tiryns, and Mycenae to look for similarities and differences in the design and
architecture of their fortifications, as well as, arguments about the purpose of the fortifications at these

The site of Midea is near Mycenae and Tiryns. Midea s fortification walls were observable by 19th
century travelers (Iakovidis, 1983) and later excavations uncovered the gates from the walls as well.
Like other Late Helladic sites, the fortification walls were built on a natural hill. At Midea this hill is
surrounded by a plain and is significantly taller than the surrounding area at 171 meters and the slopes
are hard to climb. This puts the citadel of the site in an easily defensible position in case of any attack.
The hill is so steep in areas that builders did not need to build fortification walls on the east and south
east sides.
The walls at Midea were built using Cyclopean masonry like other fortification walls found from this
time. The walls are also very thick, ranging from 5.50 7 meters in various areas (Iakovidis, 1983).
Like other Mycenaean sites, there is also evidence of a palace area inside the fortification walls.
Terracing and other buildings have also been uncovered during excavations, in keeping with the
traditional role of the fortification walls being placed around an administrative or elite center.
Unlike some other Mycenaean sites, Midea s fortification walls entrance gates were relatively simple
and the walls were never expanded. Midea also has examples of L Shaped gates which are rare on the

Forests And Tropical Rainforest
A Rainforest is a dense growing broad leaved evergreen trees it is also known as a tall and strong

Essay On The Movie Hamlet
In a shocking turn of events, by the grace of God, director and actor Kenneth Branagh made a two
hundred and forty two minute Shakespeare movie watchable. We begin with a wedding celebration
between Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, and Hamlet s mother. Hamlet s father, the King, has suddenly died
an untimely death. The colors in this scene are bright and white, the color of innocents and newborns.
Flower petals are descending from the ceiling in joy, and everyone is cheering. From there, we pan
over to a solitary figure in the hallway, Hamlet. Hamlet, clad in black, watches the kingdom rejoice at
the celebration while he is still in mourning for his late father. As a viewer, we realize here that the
subject of this scene is not the extravagant wedding, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet has a very convoluted plot. It begins with Hamlet seeing his father s ghost and telling Hamlet
that he was wrongfully murdered by his own brother, the new king of Denmark. His father s ghost
asks Hamlet to avenge him and take back the crown. This scene really sends Hamlet down the rabbit
hole because we know later on in the film that he has a difficult time pursuing his uncle, Claudius
(played by Derek Jacobi). The prince of Denmark goes through madness, murder, an unsure love
interest, he directs a play, conspires against friends, and finally gets revenge against his uncle, but not
without killing almost everyone in the movie. As mentioned earlier, Ophelia (played by Kate Winslet)
is a young and beautiful lady who is in love with Hamlet. However, her father and brother tell her to
stay away from Hamlet because he only sees her as an object of lust. We see more of Ophelia in this
movie then we do in the play. In the actual play, it mostly focuses on Hamlet and his madness, but in
Branagh s film version we get to see the effect Hamlet has on everyone. This includes the new king,
Claudius who is seen as a vicious and cunning serpent. Hamlet s sweet and gentle mother, the queen,
was thrown into a plague over her worry for Hamlet and his sanity. Other characters include Polonius,
Laertes, Horatio, and Fortinbras, all who contribute to Hamlet s downfall or witness

Washington Crossing The Delaware Compare And Contrast Essay
Emmanuel Leutze s painting Washington Crossing the Delaware shares some similarities with David
Shulman s poem Washington Crossing the Delaware ; however, the dissimilarities are more abundant.
These works of art and literature portray the scene of that remembered Christmas day when
Washington and his army set out to conquer to Hessian people. Although they have similarities, there
are some differences in these works that are nothing less than noticeable. Join me in observing the
similarities and dissimilarities in these pieces.
There are parallels in Shulman s poem and Leutze s painting and I would like to point them out. First,
how the water is represented in these two works are very much alike. In the painting, you can see that
they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main difference in these two works is the disorder and movement. The painting by Leutze
expresses more of a chaotic scene while the Shulman s poem creates a slightly more composed
environment. Struggle is more evident in the painting. While the poem is serene and instills
confidence and excitement for battle in the reader, the painting depicts struggling men fighting for a
cause we are not quite certain of. Also, the feeling depicted in the painting is predominantly distraught
while the poem makes me feel the scene is filled with precise determination. Washington commands:
so go alight, crew, and win! (Shulman line 14). This is him telling them to go sneak, fight, and win the
battle. This makes evident some of the varying differences of these two works. You can see how in the
painting Washington is not promoting ideas or confidence in his crew like he is the poem (Leutze
Washington Crossing the Delaware). This is a leading reason in the difference of disorder. Also, the
painting shows ice as a major obstacle, while in the poem no ice is mentioned. This shows how there
is another element of conflict in the painting than in the written work which can add to the madness
happening. The poem depicts the brave, fearless leader watching the army he is leading and rather
triumphantly commanding them to go into battle and win (Shulman s Washington Crossing the
Delaware ). When the poem

The Dilemmas Of Desire In The Franklin s Tale
Genesis Valdez ENG 4120 4 December 2017 The Dilemmas of Desire In Chaucer s Franklin Tale the
plot revolves around a married couple: the knight, Arviragus, his young wife, Dorigen, and a young
squire, Aurelius who importunes and attempts to Dorigen. The characters can be said to oscillate
between desire and their ego honor which affects what they say and do. Lacan s definition of desire
tells us that we desire for recognition from this Other. Our desire is to become what the other person
lacks. Duby s model of courtly love is a concept that focuses on chivalry, nobility and women being at
the center. In this paper, I will examine what the story reveals about the relation each character has to
his or her desire, how they act in accordance to their desire and the role magic or illusion plays in the
plot and how it affect characters relation to desire. In The Franklin s Tale, Dorigen marries Arviragus
and he promises to be true to her and never take an authoritarian role over her. Dorigen promises that
in return she will be his humble true wife and will give him his sovereignty. Arviragus gives Dorigen
power in the relationship and has dominion. Arviragus demonstrates courtly love because he serves
her in a way that allows freedom. The Franklin s Tale states, In such lordship as men have over their
wives; and in order that they might lead their lives together the more blissfully, of his free will he
swore to her as a knight that never in all his life, by day or

Analysis of Medea by Euripides Essay
Marriage the amalgamation of two imperfect souls to form an affectionate and beautiful relationship is
exceptionally intricate and delicate. Two different people with different insights come together to form
a harmonious relationship. Power, or control, is a chief concept that can make or break the
relationship. Distribution of the ruling is frequently divided into males versus females. This partition
leads to many conflicts and tribulations. In the catastrophic Greek play Medea, by Euripides, the
liaison between Medea and Jason demonstrates how both males and females assert power in the
relationship and how incorrect usage of this supremacy leads to dilemmas.
Initially, males direct the lives all members in the relationship by ... Show more content on

In total, Jason illustrates that he is the alpha lion, and that his power will only affect his relationship
based on how he uses his power.
Moreover, Euripides incorporates Medea into the relationship to convey the idea that females also
possess a dominant role in the struggle over dominance, but their power form is different compared to
males. Medea elucidates that even in the arduous times, she assisted Jason and supported their union.
In a direct conversation with Jason, she tells him, ...after I ve done all this to help you, you brute, you
betray me... (27). She explains that although she took care of Jason and supported him whenever he
needed her help, he used his massive quantity of power to overpower her and abandon her. Even after
Jason abandons Medea, she thinks day and night of him. Medea demonstrates that the power females
possess is not physical and totalitarian like the males, but is emotional and mental. She tries to keep
the family together and in trying to do so, she does whatever Jason asks her to do. She is the important
woman behind every successful man. Without her command, Jason would not be the person he is.
Therefore, she can destroy Jason whenever he desires with her power. She can be a femme fatale and
reduce Jason s life into rubble. Similarly, after Medea finds out she was being cheated on, she quickly
creates and evil plan and destroys Jason. She murders his new

How Does Shakespeare Present Emilia s Relationship In Othello
Throughout the entirety of Othello, Emilia has few lines but plays a key part in the story. Emilia
begins as Desdemona s assistant and as Iago s wife. The marriage that the two share is considerably
bad. The effect for their terrible marriage allows Emilia and Desdemona to bond over their husbands.
Iago is the villain of this story, but Emilia doesn t share the same antagonistic goals. In the entirety of
the play, she doesn t attempt to stray any of the other characters into doing wrong. Even though she
does give the key handkerchief to Iago, she does not know about the plot he has created. Emilia does
not share the same ideas of men as Desdemona. The idea that men are only interested in sexual
activities comes from the shoddy relationship that is her marriage. Emilia describes her relationship by
saying I nothing but to please his fantasy. This quote shows that Emilia wants nothing more than to
please her husband, but she continually falls short throughout the play. The only time she pleases her
husband is when she gives him the handkerchief that he had asked for ... Show more content on

be able to convince Othello that Desdemona is having an affair. Emilia betrays her best friend in a
final attempt to please her husband. When Desdemona questions Emilia about the whereabouts of the

From my opinion Jonathan Kozol would say to Gladwell about Marita needed to go to the KIPP
School cause of she needs to get a better education system who comes from low income and
uneducated family background. To be a success of a student firstly he or she needs a big support from
school. KIPP is that kind of school where students can learn feel free. They take care of their students
specially who are weak in reading, writing and mathematics. KIPP shows students correct path and
dedicate their knowledge, time to give them a better education by shortened summer vacation become
success of a student in his student life to get a better educate. Marita s mom was like that parent who
asked everyday her daughter after coming back from school.
Would be Kozol knew it that s why he recommended Marita needs to go to KIPP for a better educate.
On the other hand I would like to say from my concept about according to Prudence L. Carter would
say to Malcolm Gladwell that Marita needed to go to KIPP school and to shed parts of her cultural

  • 11. The Study Of Human Psychology Essay Introduction The study of human psychology comprises many elements to best understand human behaviour, through theoretical perspectives on aspects including behavioural, cognitive and personality psychology (Caponecchia, 2012). In the modern era, psychology has been recognised as one of the foundations during learning, with individuals having different abilities and learning rates, it is essential that tutors teach considering the individual differences students possess (Nezhad and Vahedi, 2011). Instructors have been shown to teach in their own preferred learning method, which may not necessarily be the most appropriate style for the students. This creates loss of motivation in the students and lower learning rates (Gailbraith and Saunders, 1987). Potentially, this is due to learners preferring to learn within their comfort zone whilst utilizing their dominant learning style (Partridge, 1983). Teachers need to be aware of the different teaching methods out there and have an understanding of them for ongoing refinement and success (Vaughn and Baker, 2001). There is also an importance in recognising individuals not just for their abilities but also for their personalities and motivation (Entwistle, 2013). Similarly, whilst undertaking any sort of leadership role, it is just as important to be self aware of your own traits including emotions, goals and identity, in order to create positive relationships and maintain sustainable performance (Avolio and Gardner, 2005). In what ways do you see this happening: It also serves as a tool for rich and powerful nations like the U.S to extend economic and cultural domination over poorer ones. Brie Poor countries have taken enormous loans from wealthy countries in order to stay afloat. Paying off the compound interest from this debt prevents them from investing resources into their own country. For example, between 1970 and 2002, the continent of Africa received $540 billion in loans from wealthy nations through the World Bank and IMF. African countries have paid back $550 billion of their debt but they still owe $295 billion. The difference is the result of compound interest. The seven reasons are as followed: barrenness, licentiousness, failure to serve parents in law, loquacity, theft, jealousy and dread disease. From this, it is clear that having offspring has top priority in a marriage. Another saying of Mencius also sum up how Chinese look at the matter of bearing offspring: There are three ways to be unfilial; having no sons is the worst. This saying suggests that two things about having offspring. First, just like mentioned before, the importance of having offspring in imperial China. Second, is that having offspring seems to be a duty of a son only, hence, getting married is to fulfill the duty of a son in serving his parents instead of to be with the love ones. Second criterion is the social status of the bride. This is the most understandable criterion, which many of us in the present time would still take into account when choosing partner. In order to tame the hungry beast inside of my belly, I turned to my mom and asked her to make me a bowl of Nissin Ramen noodles. • 21. Antisemitism In The Holocaust In contemporary society holocaust literature is considered rudimentary by intellectuals, to continuously remind young scholars about the Third Reich and Nazi crimes against Jews. Deep reflection allows one to understand the desperation driving the nation in their pursuit of worldwide domination. The serious nature associated with Holocaust causes the authors to be weary as not to lower standards by creating a pulp fiction narrative. The authors strive to positively compound the subject s potential, and gain momentum toward standards in integrity. Therefore, these authors choose not to resort to secularism, deriving inspiration from Jewish culture and religion. For the sake of the reader, the balance lies at maintaining respect for self and ancestors, while also keeping audience interest. These authors burdened themselves with the survival of a people. At the core of antisemitism is the denial of Jewish history, and especially the holocaust. Modern anti Semitism isn t based on religion, but on the theory that Jews are an inferior race. These ideas derive from the Enlightenment period (17th 18th century) in Europe. The same ideals that motivated the German sponsored holocaust of the 20th century. The Bluest Eye V.S The Color Purple In my essay, I ll be comparing and contrasting Pecola from novel The Bluest Eye , and Celie from the movie The Color Purple . In the novel, The Bluest Eye , Pecola, and from the movie The Color Purple , Celie, share many similarities in their stories. But they also have many differences that make them who they are. They re both very young girls, going through a lot of struggles that you really wouldn t be able to imagine happening, yet at the same time you can even compare it to yourself. To start off, I d like to make a few comparisons about Pecola and Celie. Things that are similar between the two characters is their lives. Pecola and Celie are both very young girls. Between the ages of 11 15. They go through things that no child, nor anyone should go through. Like their beauty, or their sexual innocence. Not only that, they re similar into how they see themselves, and what they go through with their family. But at some points, Celie also shares a similarity to Geraldine. A black woman who lives like a white woman. For example, getting married to do house work, and to please the man. Both Celie and Geraldine don t feel any type of love towards their supposed significant other, but to another living thing. For Geraldine, its her black pet cat, and for Celie, it s her little sister, Netty The loss of innocence is what both characters share. Pecola, while at home doing house work, her father Cholly, stumbles in drunk. For a while, he stands there and looks at Pecola. Imagining her as a younger version of Pauline, Pecola s mother and Chollys wife. As Pecola s cleaning, Cholly makes a move on her. Though it s not the first time he tried something like this to Pecola, he did succeed. Right in the kitchen is where Pecola is raped by Cholly, taking away her innocence and leaving her pregnant. But she loses the baby. Just like Celie. Celie, after her mother s death, is left with her younger sister and father. • 36. Marching Band Strengths 1.) What are three of your strengths that will help to set you apart from other candidates seeking this position? I think that my strongest strength this time around is my experience. After three years of varsity marching band, I feel like I have the ability to guide the incoming freshmen, along with the underclassmen and fellow seniors to become better marchers. Another thing that I have is that I can relate to the trombone section. I know more than anyone that the trombone section can get quite detracted at times, myself included, but since I ve matured but still have fun with them, a feel like they will be more inclined to listen to me when I say it s time to focus up compared to the times when its okay to be a little more lax. The final strength that I have is my playing and memorizing. My freshman year was hard because I didn t know my music as well as the seniors, and kinda learned it from hearing them play it. This also works as a confirmation to people that are playing the music, because if it s the same then they know that they re playing it right as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though I got much better at staying focused over the course of last years marching band season, I still have a lot of room to improve. The second weakness is the lack of control that I have on the section at times. These elements have mass amounts of energy that some people attempt to harness for their own good. Such as making a Psy ball in the palm of their hand. Psy pronounced sigh is the act of making an orb in your hand. It s not evil or fake. I have read many cases of this event. • 38. How Anti Forensic Tools Work As Well As Looking At The... 1. Introduction The aim of this report is to investigate where and how anti forensic tools work as well as looking at the challenges forensic investigators are faced when such tools are used. After anti forensic tools are used certain artefacts will be left behind, this report will also cover the procedures and difficulties when trying to uncover these artefacts as well as the tools used to find them. Anti Forensic (AF) techniques are the actions which are aimed to prevent forensic investigators analysing the case effectively since the AF tools are used to reduce or the quantity and quality of useful information. Anti forensics is yet to have its own definition however this is expected as it is still a relatively unexplored field despite the fact cybercrime levels are growing every day. There have been several AF definitions defined however these definitions only focus on certain parts of anti forensics. Peron and Legary came to a definition which I feel fits which is limit the identification, collection, collation and validation of electronic data. (Peron and Legary, 2005). Data hiding is a commonly used AF technique which is defined as the art of hiding the fact that communication is taking place, by the hiding of information in other information (Tyagi, 2012, p.120). Data is hiding is used to essentially removing data from view so it is far less likely to be uncovered meaning that it won t be used in the forensic investigation. • 39. Mycenaean Fortifications Late Helladic fortification walls on the Greek mainland are found surrounding citadels, not the entire city or site. The citadels seem to have housed central administration and housing for an elite class of citizens. They were built on hills, presumably as another layer of fortification. I will examine the sites of Gla, Midea, Tiryns, and Mycenae to look for similarities and differences in the design and architecture of their fortifications, as well as, arguments about the purpose of the fortifications at these sites. Midea s fortification walls were observable by 19th century travelers (Iakovidis, 1983) and later excavations uncovered the gates from the walls as well. Like other Late Helladic sites, the fortification walls were built on a natural hill. At Midea this hill is surrounded by a plain and is significantly taller than the surrounding area at 171 meters and the slopes are hard to climb. This puts the citadel of the site in an easily defensible position in case of any attack. The hill is so steep in areas that builders did not need to build fortification walls on the east and south east sides. The walls at Midea were built using Cyclopean masonry like other fortification walls found from this time. The walls are also very thick, ranging from 5.50 7 meters in various areas (Iakovidis, 1983). Like other Mycenaean sites, there is also evidence of a palace area inside the fortification walls. Terracing and other buildings have also been uncovered during excavations, in keeping with the traditional role of the fortification walls being placed around an administrative or elite center. Unlike some other Mycenaean sites, Midea s fortification walls entrance gates were relatively simple and the walls were never expanded. We begin with a wedding celebration between Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, and Hamlet s mother. Hamlet s father, the King, has suddenly died an untimely death. The colors in this scene are bright and white, the color of innocents and newborns. Flower petals are descending from the ceiling in joy, and everyone is cheering. From there, we pan over to a solitary figure in the hallway, Hamlet. Hamlet, clad in black, watches the kingdom rejoice at the celebration while he is still in mourning for his late father. It begins with Hamlet seeing his father s ghost and telling Hamlet that he was wrongfully murdered by his own brother, the new king of Denmark. His father s ghost asks Hamlet to avenge him and take back the crown. This scene really sends Hamlet down the rabbit hole because we know later on in the film that he has a difficult time pursuing his uncle, Claudius (played by Derek Jacobi). The prince of Denmark goes through madness, murder, an unsure love interest, he directs a play, conspires against friends, and finally gets revenge against his uncle, but not without killing almost everyone in the movie. As mentioned earlier, Ophelia (played by Kate Winslet) is a young and beautiful lady who is in love with Hamlet. However, her father and brother tell her to stay away from Hamlet because he only sees her as an object of lust. We see more of Ophelia in this movie then we do in the play. In the actual play, it mostly focuses on Hamlet and his madness, but in Branagh s film version we get to see the effect Hamlet has on everyone. This includes the new king, Claudius who is seen as a vicious and cunning serpent. Hamlet s sweet and gentle mother, the queen, was thrown into a plague over her worry for Hamlet and his sanity. Other characters include Polonius, Laertes, Horatio, and Fortinbras, all who contribute to Hamlet s downfall or witness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Washington Crossing The Delaware Compare And Contrast Essay Emmanuel Leutze s painting Washington Crossing the Delaware shares some similarities with David Shulman s poem Washington Crossing the Delaware ; however, the dissimilarities are more abundant. These works of art and literature portray the scene of that remembered Christmas day when Washington and his army set out to conquer to Hessian people. Although they have similarities, there are some differences in these works that are nothing less than noticeable. Join me in observing the similarities and dissimilarities in these pieces. The painting by Leutze expresses more of a chaotic scene while the Shulman s poem creates a slightly more composed environment. Struggle is more evident in the painting. While the poem is serene and instills confidence and excitement for battle in the reader, the painting depicts struggling men fighting for a cause we are not quite certain of. Also, the feeling depicted in the painting is predominantly distraught while the poem makes me feel the scene is filled with precise determination. Washington commands: so go alight, crew, and win! (Shulman line 14). This is him telling them to go sneak, fight, and win the battle. This makes evident some of the varying differences of these two works. You can see how in the painting Washington is not promoting ideas or confidence in his crew like he is the poem (Leutze Washington Crossing the Delaware). This is a leading reason in the difference of disorder. Also, the painting shows ice as a major obstacle, while in the poem no ice is mentioned. This shows how there is another element of conflict in the painting than in the written work which can add to the madness happening. The poem depicts the brave, fearless leader watching the army he is leading and rather triumphantly commanding them to go into battle and win (Shulman s Washington Crossing the Delaware ).
