The And The Righteous Sufferer
Job and the Righteous Sufferer The question Why do bad things happen to good people? has most
likely been around for a very long time. It will always stay relevant as long as there are natural
disasters killing so many people and making others suffer, many of them being innocent. There is no
common factor found among all people that suffer great physical and emotional pain. It happens to
people of all religions, ethnicities, and morality. Sufferingdoes not seek out the guilty, it is just a
part of life. Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to all people, so even
the righteous can suffer, which is seen in The Poem of the Righteous Sufferer, and The Book of Job.
Suffering is just left up to the will, or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He simply will never know their reasoning or their intention of allowing earthly events to unfold
the way that they do (RS II:36 37). He says he does not understand the people who praise gods
when things go well, but reject them as soon as things turn for the worse, which he also says can
happen instantly (RS II:44 47). The speaker questions these hypocritical people, and seems to
have a better grasp on the true nature of the gods than the average person. He knows that
humans cannot understand the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job,
the book s eponymous character. Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. God
goes as far as to call him a blameless and upright man and says he is a one of a kind worshipper
(Job 1:8). He also endures great suffering, which all came as the result of Satan questioning if
Job s worshipping was true and pure (Job 1:10 11). God takes Satan up on this bet and allows
him to cause make Job s life miserable (Job 1:12). At first, Job stays a righteous man, but
eventually he breaks down and curses his birth (Job 3). Job becomes exactly the type of person
that Shubshi meshre Shakkan was talking about (someone who questions God in bad times), and
his friend Eliphaz tells him that. He says, Your words have supported those who were stumbling,
and you have made firm the feeble knees. But now it has come to you, and you are impatient, (Job
4:4 5). Eliphaz also believes Job s suffering is a direct

African Elephants ( Loxadonta Africana ) And Amur Tigers
African elephants (Loxadonta africana) and amur tigers (Panthera tigris altaica), despite being
classed as mammals they show a great diversity, one is a carnivore and one is a herbivore.
Whether in the wild or held in captivity, African elephants and tigers (like all animals) are
susceptible to certain diseases, these diseases can either be bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic.
Having the knowledge when an animal is in good and poor health is vital. To ensure an animal is
in good health the animal needs to be in good body condition, good appetite and is relaxed. If an
elephantapproaches you with almost half closed, lazy eyes and its tail is slowly swishing from side
to side, it is a good sign that it is relaxed (Londolozi, 2016). For a tiger, it will squint or close its
eyes; this is because loosing vision lowers defence. The animals eyes are to be clear and bright,
skin is to be soft and resilient, healthy soles and claws. However, when animals suffer from poor
health, some common clinical signs to look for are, loss of appetite and weight loss. Depending
on the disease, as you get closer to the animal you will notice its eyes are very dull and the
mucous membranes may have changed colour. If in pain it will be restless and it might even be
groaning. Depending on the disease, the animal will scour or be constipated and the passing of
urine might also cease (ACS Distance Education, 2016).

Commuter Trains In The 1800 s
Trains developed in the early 1800 s. Because of railroads, commuter trains became an important of
the american history. Commuter train is also known as suburban train. Commuter trains help
transport people from places to places. Many people use the commuter trains in their everyday live.
It also created a change in the industry, and allowed humans to expand. The train became a way
where people transportgoods and resources in matter of days instead of months. As centuries goes
on and with the advancement in technology, commuter trains have evolved into more efficient and
significant part of people s live.
The first trains were called locomotives. It was a steam engine train created by Matthew Murray. It
is a simple and slow train, but still ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As of right now, scientists are coming up new advance projects to power, and will help add
intelligence to the transportation system. The advancement will help decrease carbon dioxide
emissions, traffic delays, and the cost. This will also make commuting and travel more efficient.
The cost will be lower due to not building railroad tracks. The traffic will decrease due to the
various sensors to guide the trains on the road. It will make commuting and travel more efficient
because the units can detach and going different directions. Another resource scientist might use is
magnetic levitation(maglev). To create a maglev at high speeds of travel, the train needs to run off
of electro magnetism. Also the train need a strong enough force and large enough electrical power

JFK Airport-Personal Narrative
The Story. It happened on August 20 it was the day when me and my dad had to fly to the USA.
We had a plane at 9am from Moscow so we left our house in Smolensk at 3am. It took us 4.5

our next flight to Charlotte and everything was fine till the lady announced, The flight number 591

Chair Scare
Chair Scare I ve never been the best at most things I do. Some of the sports I play, I began at a
very late age compared to others. This does not stop me from having a competitive edge; I
always try my best in everything I do. In third grade I played cello, the music was extremely easy
which I wasn t too fond of. I wanted a challenge, which is why in fourth grade I made the decision
to play the clarinet. I loved playing the clarinet; it was one of my favorite things to do. Joining the
band and being immersed in different types of musiceveryday gave me all kinds of joy, but I still
missed playing cello and getting to be a part of the orchestra, almost a completely different sound.
Then, I decided in fifth grade to play both, cello and clarinet.... Show more content on

play, and when the day came to audition nerves fluttered throughout my stomach. He asked if
there were any volunteers. We all sat silently praying to God that someone would choose to go

picking, and eventually my named was called. A million thoughts clouded my mind as I was
walking towards his room. I had never really auditioned for anything before, and all my worries
hit me as I opened the door. I placed my music, filled with little notes to help me as I played, on

The Importance Of Health Care
possible to the time of care, enhances credibility and accuracy of health care records (2012, p.17).
This statement specifically refers to the well documented issues related to delayed charting and
nurses recalling, often improperly, the events of a situation.
Recall is one of two ways used to re access a memory (the other is recognition). According to
Mastin, recall occurs when we remember a fact, event or object that is not physically present
(2010). Mastin continues to write that there are three main kinds of recall: free recall, cued recall,
and serial recall (2010). In a situation such as documenting, a nurse would utilize serial recall,
which refers to our ability to sequentially and chronologically remember events. However, the ...

However, informally, nurses can work together to brainstorm the most effective and efficient ways
to accurately chart in a timely manner.
Overall, timely charting should become a habit for the nurses at Excela Home Health and Hospice
Care Service. I believe that the best change theory to set this change in motion is Kotter s 2012
Eight Step Plan for Integrating Change. This would be the most effective because it is the most
specific and seems as though it could function throughout an entire hospital department. For
example, according to Grossman (2017), Kotter s first step is to identify a need and communicate
the necessity (p. 53). In this scenario, the need would be for more timely charting and the
necessity would be to improve patient care and nurses state of mind (it is hard to function well
when tired from staying up all night charting). The second step is to, create power in numbers to
lead the change (p. 53). This would be done by motivating the supervisors to engage both
management and nurses. The third through eighth steps involve developing the policy,
communicating the policy, and then implementing and enforcing it, and finally evaluating the
functionality of the policy after it is in place. Kotter s Eight Step plan is a very clear cut change
theory that I feel covers all of

Brownsville Essay
Before the 1880s, the are of eastern Brooklyn that was to become Brownsville was known as
New Lots. This territory was primarily farmland, but it was also the location of the city s largest
waste dump, as well as the site of several facilities that supplied stone and other building
materials. In its early history, New Lots had a diverse population. English and Irish settlers,
Jewish immigrants, and a small number of African Americans farmed the land. Others were
attracted to the area by the open space and relatively fresh fresh air it provided. Brownsville at
one time was a place for waste disposal, a tenement slum, a haven for Jews before they were

With more than 100,000 in population, there was one significant hospital, one park, no high
school, and only two notable community centers. Local associations were available and often set
goals that they achieved. The residents of Brownsville used these associations to fight for better
services and counter the negative perception of their neighbors. During 1900s and 1910s religion
(Judaism) permeated the community. The area was once called the Jerusalem of America. This
goes to show how much religion impacted this area. Ohev Sholom was the oldest synagogue in
the community, founded in 1882 by Elias Kaplan s and again in 1883 by Eitz Chaim Machzikei.
Among rising synagogues, there were also a few that was still functioning during the 1950s. Two
of the oldest were Beth Hamedrash Hagodol founded in 1889 and Thilim Kesher Israel founded in
1891.Many synagogues fought for attention and members due to social interactions and
entertainment going on in Brooklyn and New York City. Residents had the options to attend movies
or theater in the borough, travel to Coney Island or to Central Park, and they were able to take a
ferry to Staten Island or the Bronx. Residents didn t have substantial amounts of money but they
had enough to enjoy some form of entertainment, which was usually the same time that synagogue

Terrestrial Isopods
METHODS
Study Site and Species Isopods (Armadillidium vulgare) can be found universally in nearly every
temperate climate under natural debris (CITE). Terrestrial isopods do not contain a waxy cuticle on
their exoskeleton, making them more susceptible to suffer water loss through their water permeable
exoskeleton (CITE). A. vulgare uses the permeable exoskeleton to also excrete one form of
nitrogenous waste, while the other form is excreted through uric acid (CITE). Experimental Design
The experiment was performed testing two independent variables, light and soil moisture. A
constructed box was split into six equal sections, occurring one right after the next, and dividers
with cutouts were placed in between each section. A tall divider was placed after the third section,
separating half of the sections from each other. The experiment was designed to test both light and

A random amount of soil, 40.00 grams, was chosen to be consistent throughout each section of
the entire experiment. To gauge how much water would be needed to saturate the soil to 100%,
two times as much water was added to the soil, or 80 ml, and the mixture was stirred together.
After waiting 1 minute, excess water was poured off, repeating the cycle until no more water was
found to be pooling on the soil. The mixture was weighed and the original mass of the soil was
subtracted from the current mass, producing the mass of the water at 100% saturation, or 61.25
ml. Sixty one and one quarter mL was then multiplied by 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 respectively to
produce the amounts of water that would represent the soil at 25%, 50%, and 75% water
saturation. These percentages were chosen because the extreme percentages, 0% and 100%
saturation would have been avoided by the isopods

My observations at Rose Rock School commenced at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, I climbed
the steps to get the doors and knocked on the door and only then noticed a small sign that said
for people to use the back door. The front door was then opened by a woman that asked if I was
Megan, I said yes. When I walked in I noticed that the roomshad no doors and the first room had
most likely been a living room and the room next to it a dining room. The lady that had let me in
said she would get Shanah and let her know I was here. I met Shanah and she explained that I
would be observing in the room that is next to the living room and that parents start dropping off
their children at eight in the morning.
While we talked, I asked Shanah how many children are in her group and she said thirteen
children, which included her own son that is one and a half years old. As we talked, the children
started arriving and she got them to sit down at the table and told them that they were going to
make art craft for their mother for mother s day. While Shanah was cutting the cloth, another
caregiver came into the room and I asked her what the ages the children in this group was and she

Due to the abuse that Delia suffers in the short story Sweat by Zora Hurston, she becomes
stronger and gains independence. Sykes is a overcontrolling husband and frequently abuses Delia
throughout their marriage. He does this in several different ways. First is verbal, he is always
yelling and at Delia and never has anything nice to say. Along with a general rudeness toward her
he makes threats to her, saying things such as, Ah oughter mash you in yo mouf fuh drawing dat

command. Instead she ignores him since she knows that she is the dominant one. Even the men
at the shop recognize that she is the provider in the family and that Sykes is an abuser. They also
recognize the effect the abuse had on her and her appearance. They say the women Never wuz

Essay Bulimia Nervosa
BULIMIA NERVOSA 307.51 (F50.2)
Introduction
Individuals diagnosed with bulimia nervosa undertake frequent binge eating, followed by expelling
the food, typically by inducing vomiting, but also through exercising and the use of laxative agents,
diuretics, and enemas (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The binge eating occurrences are
often prompted by a negative perception of one s body image, temporarily alleviated by the binge
eating episode. Since the individual with bulimia nervosa is overanxious about body weight,
purging of the food is viewed as a necessity. This is in contrast to binge eating disorder, which does
not involve the purging of food after an excess of food consumption (Bulik et al., 2012).
Furthermore, although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is an additional feature that must be present alongside these symptoms in order for a
patient to be diagnosed with bulimia nervosa: any binge eating events followed by compensation
needs to be relatively frequent. Specifically, if these events take place at a minimum of one time
per week over a 3 month timespan then a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa may be made. Although
these are the symptoms that must be present in order for a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa to be
made, there are often other symptoms that accompany bulimia nervosa. Signs of psychosis have
been found in patients with eating disorders like bulimia nervosa (Miotto et al., 2010). Moreover,
those with bulimia nervosa frequently have the feeling that there is something flawed with their
mind, and that others are at fault for their problems (Miotto et al., 2010). In addition, there is
evidence that a feeling of loneliness is correlated with the occurrence of bulimia nervosa (Levine,
2012), highlighting the psychological dynamics that are at play behind this disorder.
Causes of Bulimia Nervosa: from genetics to environment
The environmental and biological mechanisms that underlie bulimia nervosa have been researched
in some depth. The principle mechanisms that give rise to bulimia nervosa may be classified into
two groups: genetic variables at play and environmental factors that impact the patient.
There is a considerable body of evidence

Should Textbooks Be Taught In Schools Research Paper
Technology constantly evolves, adding new features, applications, and creative opportunities for
advancements. However, some critics consider education as archaic and unimaginative, for it
preserves the practices of pencil and paper, textbooks and notes.
In the past decade, technology advanced faster than previously before, forcing the question whether
schools and communities should integrate technology with education. In addition, boards consider
how much is appropriate to include in the educational standards while maintaining a balance with
traditional methods.
Schools argue that these tablets or other technological devices are a cost burden on the school
district since they have to pay and maintain a higher bandwidth cost, in addition to the initial cost
of purchasing the tablets. Implementation costs for e textbooks on iPad tablets are 552% higher
than new print textbooks in an average high school, and the annual cost per student per class with
tablets is $71.55 vs. $14.26 for print textbooks ( Should Tablets Replace Textbooks in K 12

based budget. For schools with weak support from the government or community, it becomes

Inca Civil War Research Paper
Ariel Durant wrote, A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself
from within. The Inca Civil War was the beginning of the downfall of the largest civilization in the
Americas. The Inca Civil War lasted from 1529 until April 1532 in Peru and Ecuador. The
administrative, political, and military center of the empire was located in Cuzco (modern day Peru).
The Incacivilization arose from the highlands of Peru sometime in the early 13th century. The
Incas had no written language. Most of what is known about the Incas come from artifacts and the
Spaniards. The Inca Civil War was a war between two brothers, Huascar and Atahualpa, that took
place after their father Huayna Capac. Huascar and Atahualpa both doomed suitable for the
succession of the Inca Empire so, the war began. The Inca Civil War was a conflict that divided a
civilization, resulted in significant changes that made the empire more vulnerable and caused the
downfall of the Inca civilization.

The Veldt By Ray Bradbury Analysis
Competing, as humans we compete so much throughout our lives, it s what makes us human. We
even try so hard that we distance ourselves from others. Ray Bradbury shows us in his two stories,
The Veldt and Marionettes, Inc. that there is something we can t contend with; technology. In these
stories the author shows us a world where people are distant because of and can t compete with
technology. In Ray Bradbury s short story The Veldt he shows us a family that is so distant from
each other because of technology. The Hadley family lives in a Happylife Home that does
everything for them and the children depend on their nursery that has raised them their entire
lives. Mr. David McClean comments to Mr. Hadley, You ve let this room and this house replace
you and your wife in your children s affections. This room is their mother and father, far more
important in their lives than real parents ( The Veldt 10). Children Wendy and Peter live in their
own personal bubble because they don t have to rely on their parents for anything. The children rely
so much on their nursery that it has replaced and made them so distant from their own parents.
Technology has become the children s parents; their role model. The nursery has caused the family
to become distant, but it s more than that, it s the entire house. Bradbury adds, And he marched
around the house turning off the voice clocks, the stoves, the heaters, the shoe shiners, the shoe
lacers, the body scrubbers and swabbers

The Development Of Gifted Adolescents
Development Script
When it comes to development, there are many different forms. A person goes through not only
physical and intellectual development but also emotional and even social development. While
some develop efficiently in all areas, others can encounter issues with their development in some
or even all areas. No matter how one develops though there is always questions about it. How it all
works, what to expect, and even why one is not developing in a certain way or like another person.
Imagine you are a parent, how would you explain these developments to your child? What would
you tell them about the changes they may encounter physically, intellectually, emotionally, and
socially?
Physically
Although gifted adolescents have a way of viewing things differently than that of an average
adolescence, they still face the same physical changes. As the parent of a 14 year old smart girl, it is
important to approach the subject with honesty and maturity not to insult her intelligence. Explain to
her that the increase in the size of her hips, breast, and the addition of pubic hair, are all
characteristics of her sexual identity. Reassure her that the beginning of her menstrual cycle is
normal for a girl that is leaving childhood and entering into the stage of adolescents. Discuss the
new feelings that she may be experiencing, allow her to express these feelings openly. Intellectually

The Role Of Segregation In The Film And Film
The film book Eyes on the Prize really opened up my eyes to what was going on in the 1960s.
Segregation affected all elements of life in the United States, and blacks did not have the same
basic rights as whites. Blacks took a beating literally to get the rights they deserved. These
individuals overcame so much on their goal to receiving freedom and equality. From getting beat,
hospitalized, to boycotting busses, and restaurants. Everything they did took tremendous courage. It

Biological Determinism And Social And Economic Differences...
Question 1. Biological determinism as stated by Gould, states that shared behavioral norms, and
the social and economic differences between human groups primarily races, classes, and sexes
arise from inherited, inborn distinctions and that society, in this sense, is an accurate reflection
of biology (Gould, p.52). He explains this idea further through his explanation of how biological
determinism can be measured or assigned based on the craniometry, which is the size of the
skull, for at the time it was believed that the larger the skull, the more intelligent that individual
was. This explanation became one of the earliest works connected to scientific racism. Gould,
believed that during this time many scientists used their own prejudices, and bias s when
concluding their research, such as the work of French anthropologist, Paul Broca, who stated that
the small brains of women concluded that men were to be regarded as more intelligent, as well
as, above women, however, although women did prove this prejudice to be wrong with their
talents and their diplomas , they were still opposed by numbers (Gould, p. 58). Biological
determinism is, in its essence, a theory of limits for it states that people who are at the bottom are
basically biologically inferior, which is reflected in their social status (Gould, p. 60). Both Darwin
and Mendel contributed to biological determinism and scientific racism, is that both opened the
doors to new anthropological scientific

best dishes. Hispanics males take pride in working, just as the females take pride in cooking.
The women don t do it just for the heck of it, they make a form of art and also competition. Every
Mexican family has a person who competes with another, to see who can make the best dish.
Mexicans have different dishes from soups to rice. The one soup you will here in the Mexican
generation is pozole. This is a soup that consists of pork, hominy, and spicy herbs. This recipe has

You will need to buy the following items, 1 10oz bag of chile ancho, 1 10oz bag of chile guaillo,
20 lbs of trisitos de puerco, 2 large cans of hominy, 2 lbs of espinazo, and 2 whole garlic cloves.
To give it seasoning you must also have salt, onion, bay leaves, and oregano. In order to cook
and mix all these items you must have one 1 large pot, 2 small pots, and a blender. These are all
the ingredients that you will need to cook pozole. If you are not able to find all the items at your
local grocery store, feel free to go to a Mexican restaurant to purchase them. They might be able
to sell you some of the items. First, you spread out your ingredients on the table, open up all the
packages. Then you get your pot and fill it up with water, halfway to the top. Take your meat,
place it in the pot and let it boil for three hours until its tender. Be sure to add lots of salt to the
meat, this will help tenderize the meat. Peel and clean all the chiles (anchos and guaillo), make
sure you remove all the seeds and the veins. If you have sensitive eyes or skin, I would advise
that you get some gloves and don t touch your eyes (they are very hot and will dye your skin red

Essay about Father Roles Heaney
Father Roles Heaney Father Roles
There are many factors that will shape a young boy s life, but possibly none more important than
the role of that boy s father. Seamus Heaney and Theodore Roethke both have shown the
importance of the father role in their poems Digging and My Papas Waltz. Although the roles of
the fathers in these poems were different, the respect and admiration shown by their sons is one in
the same. Weather it is Heaney s father digging under his window, or Roehtke s father dancing him
around as a little boy, the love shown in these two poems, shows a direct relation on the lives they
shared with their fathers.

Corked sloppily with paper. This shows that while Heaney decided not to follow in his fathers
footsteps, he loved and cared for his father regardless (Glover 543). Overall, Heaney s love for his
father was a powerful factor in his deciding to become a writer.
Roethke s peom, My Papas Waltz , shows us a completely different relationship among the father
and son. In the opening line, we read The whisky on your breath/could make a small boy dizzy;
this, to some, arises suspicion as to weather this is a happy dance, or a violent one. Many will
debate over weather or not this represents a happy time or a violent relationship, but this is further
clarified when Roethke writes But I hung on like death this shows that the boy was in fact having
fun dancing with his father (Magill 1453). You can sense the anger in the motheras you read My
mothers countenance/could not unfrown itself. This shows that despite the mothers feelings of
anger towards the dance, the son was enjoying it, so they went on (Malkoff 344). The last two
lines of the poem further illustrate the boys love for the dance with his father; Then waltzed me
off to bed/still clinging to your shirt. This shows that after a long day of work, the boys father
would come home and have a drink, and then waltz Theodore around the kitchen. The love between
Roethke and his father is shown throughout the poem, and can be seen in many ways, some wish to

Persuasive Essay On Energy Conservation
I am not surprised that the jury is still out on the convenience and comfort of energy conservation
since the confidence in coal, oil and nuclear power has been shaken over the years. The extraction
methods used in fracking and shale oil reserves should be under investigation by United States
because he landowners are constantly approached by unscrupulous companies eager to drill for oil
and natural gasbut with no clean up requirement enforced by the state and federal laws. The
New York Times articles outlines concerns and doubts as a result of this natural gas rush.
California, Colorado and a host other states are rushing to join the United States natural gas
boom. I believe that the shift from coal to gas is a great investment not to be ignored by the
United States, China and other developing countries. Errors are great opportunities to ensure the
efficient transferring of knowledge. Liquid energy is part of our life and ignoring the importance
will not solve the problems that can arise from faulty extracting methods. Our ancestors over a
century ago considered natural gas a waste product in oil fields however the discovery of a large
gas Vautor Laplaceliere 2
Field in the Panhandle in 1918 opened avenues for its use in the manufacturing of car tires and
home heating. Nevertheless coal, oil, and nuclear power remained the important source of energy.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning s Sonnet 43
How do I love thee? The infamous Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning is both thought
provoking and lovely, with a somewhat melancholy undertone. How has this small poem shaped
the way we as a human race view love, and how is it that most of us know those first few
powerful lines by memory? Love, of course, it a life changing coarse altering step that nearly
everyone strives for. With millions of songs, films, and plays all shouting out their desperation for
loveand mutual affection, it s no wonder that when this small poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
is uttered, many of us know the words by heart or are at least familiar. Love plays such a role in
our day to day lives that Browning knew it had to be put into words. The melancholy

was graphic and serious while he was telling the students about his father. However, I believe he

mind regardless of what may happened in your life. Because if someone control your mind they
basically control your life, for example, the slaves. Nevertheless, Denzel Washington used
intercultural communication ethics which I think was good.
However, in another scene, Denzel Washington employs Public discourse ethics. Public discourse

Why Total Reward Is Important
Why a Total Reward Program is Important
As the labor force becomes more highly developed and demanding, rivalry between organizations
for talented employees is drastically increasing. It is extremely important that organizations make
their company more enticing as an incomparable career opportunity. Instituting a total rewards
system into an organization can do much to help it invite the paramount talent available and
significantly condense turnover. The longevity of an organization s employees is contributed to its
total reward system. According to Heneman (2007), total rewards is defined as all of the tools,
whether intrinsic or extrinsic, offered to the employer that may be employed to attract, motivate
and retain employees. This could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the Baby Boomers about to retire, the employment philosophy for Gen X and Gen Y is
changing as well. It is now fairly common for today s labor force to change jobs every couple of
years, rather than maintain longevity with one company. Turnover costs for many corporations are
costly and can drastically affect the financial functioning of an organization. An organization that is
successful in reducing their labor costs will be able to enjoy a better profit margin. Strategic
planning must be implemented to assess the cost of turnover, build retention strategies, and
strategize for anticipated and unforeseen turnover and a shifting labor force culture. Organizations
are aware of the tight labor market and are heightening their visibility to the situation. Rewards
effectively designed by an organization allow their business to entice and magnetize top talent from
a shrinking labor pool. By offering what employees value, usual companies can reduce the
migration of employees to other organizations by employing what their employees say they value
most (WorldatWork, 2007, p. 17).
Martin (2006) maintains that:
A direct link exists between employee motivation and product/service quality. When employees
are aware of the company s goals and objectives, and know the significant role they play, they will
provide higher quality products and services. Implementing a model to reward employees for
meeting company goals is one

Catholic Church Reformation Essay
To understand the history of the Protestant Church and the Reformation, it is first important to
understand that one of the positions that claims the Catholic Church is apostolic succession. This
simply means that they claim to be the sole authority over all other churches and denominations
because they support the entire line of Roman Catholic Popes back to back centuries, to the apostle
Peter. From their point of view, it gives the Catholic Churcha unique authority which puts it above
all other denominations or church. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, this apostolic
succession is only found in the Catholic Church and no other church can not validly claim it.
It is because of this apostolic succession that the Roman Catholic Church claims to have the sole
authority to interpret Scripture and to establish doctrine, and also supports having a supreme leader,
the Pope, who is infallible (without error) when he speaks ex cathedra that is to say in the exercise
of his ministry as pastor and teacher of all Christians. Thus, from the perspective of Roman Catholic
teaching or traditions of the Roman Catholic Church, since they come from the Pope, are endowed
with infallibility and an authority equal to that of the Scriptures them same. This is one of the
major differences between Roman Catholics and Protestants, and one of the fundamental reasons
for the Protestant Reformation.
Of course, the Roman Catholics are not the only ones to try to claim unique authority

Sustainable Confusion
Sustainable Confusion Forest Stewardship Council and IKEA
Sustainable development has been a debatable concern in the past few years. To thrive for a viable
environment of carefree living, countries worldwide gather to discuss the importance of this issue.
However, with the sheer efforts of governments are not sufficient. With increasing awareness of
environmental protection and sustainability, more eco certification organizations and retailers form

of relationship would be IKEA carries Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified lumber and paper

Founded in 1993, FSC is a three chamber system that has representation from economic players as

environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world

The drafters of the Indian constitution visualized that a major chunk of population, because of
living in remote areas, might remain devoid of benefits that would be available to other citizens of

remote locations. And they believed that in due course of time the backward classes would be
propped up to a level that equals the others.
Some strange reawakening prompted the Janta Party government under Bharat Ratna Morarji
Desai to enlarge the span of reservations. Mandal commission was established in India in 1979 with
a mandate to identify the socially or educationally backward, based on additional parameters. The
commission brought in 11 socio economic and educational indicators to determine backwardness
and introduced the term Other Backward Classes (OBC) , as a yet another class distinction in the

Combating Resistance to Organizational Change Essay
Combating Resistance to Organizational Change
By any objective measure, the amount of important, frequently distressing, change in
organizations has grown enormously over the last two decades (Kotter, 1996). Jeffrey M. Hiatt,
CEO of Prosci Inc., (as cited by Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly Konopaske, 2009, p. 481)
explained, thirty years ago, a foturne 100 probably had one or two enterprisewide change
intitiatives goiong on; today that number is proably between 20 and 25. The speed of global,
economic, and techological development makes change an ineveitable element of organiztional life.

2009). Organizational change means different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If organizations are to thrive and be sustaining, they need to respond to the dynamics of their
environment with change. However, change is not a singular event with an isolated focus (Spector,
2007). Effective strategic renewal is a combination of the three faces of change turnaround, which
targets costs; technology, which targets internal process; and behavioral, which targets employee
actions and interactions (Spector, 2007). In a discussion on change management, particularly
management by control versus management by shaping, Palmer, et al. (2009) draw a similar
conclusion that organizations and human systems are complex and evolving and therefore cannot
be reduced to a single, linear objective of maximizing shareholder value (p. 50).
Forces for Change
Despite some variations in change approach labels among academic research, it seems generally
accepted that forces for change are the catalyst for change itself. Gibson, et al. (2009) classified
forces for change into two groups; environmental and internal, and further described environmental
forces as those generally beyond management s control and internal forces generally within
management s control. These forces for change trigger an intervention or change process that can
take any of three approaches: structural, behavioral, or technological (Gibson, et al. 2009).
Similarly, Spector (2007) discussed change approaches as those of organizational turnarounds,
behavioral and

The Importance Of Government Privacy
The government, that is responsible for protecting citizens, has the power to spy and monitor
people. Sometimes, surveillances are useful for catching criminals. Oftentimes, over monitoring
individuals may violates personal freedoms and sometimes the government over exceeds its
boundaries to obtain personal information. There are four types of privacyrelated activities that a
federal, state, and local government can have control over. The first activity deals with collection of
information of individual citizens. After the collection of this information, a government may store,
manipulate, or use this data against someone. Third, this collected information may spread to other
agencies. Finally, sharing personal information may disrupt someone s daily activities and solitude.
There are various ways in which the government and law enforcement can gather information of
private citizens. For example, census records collect information about households related to
ethnicity, language, marital status, or lifestyles. Other collection gathering methods like the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) collects names, social security numbers, income, and assets of each
US worker. Some collection records are also necessary to detect potential criminals. For instance,
the FBI National Crime Information Center2000 (NCIC) contains 13 million records of potential
stolen automobiles, stolen license plates, missing guns, other stolen goods, and missing persons
records. Another way to detect

Abraham Promises
The Bible teaches that God s longing to redeem the world has always been His desire, but sinful
man has refused God s grace. The appeal to man to turn from his selfish ways dates back to the
Old Testament and is clearly displayed in the actions God puts into place with Abraham and the
formation of the nation of Israel. These activities are evident in Abraham and the nation of Israel
through promises made, examples to show His glory, and Israel s comparison to the Church today.
Promises Made
In Genesis, God promised blessings to Abraham that would carry to his descendants (Gen. 12:2 3
[NASB]).1 Through these blessings, one man and his family would benefit the whole world and

As part of those activities, the Scripture clearly indicates His desire to declare Himself to all
nations, tongues, and tribes. Walter Kaiser explains that the Old Testament unfolds a plan (Gen.
12:3), a purpose (Ps. 67:1 7) and the need for participation (Exod. 19:4 6) by the nation of
Israel.11 There are three significant areas that serve as evidence of God s intentions. They are the
use of the Israelites to reach the world as a proclamation, Abraham s specific calling to become a
priestly nation, and the nation as an example.
God s plan and work are directed to the entire of humanity with His desire to save all of
mankind.12 However, man s struggle against God is apparent in events such as the attempt to
reach heaven at Babel (Gen. 11:1 9) and the universal condemnation of wickedness, which
caused the great flood (Gen. 6:5).13 Israel was designed to be a solid foundation for other
nations to turn to. Verkuyl states that even the nations who oppose God will one day celebrate
in restored fellowship.14 Israel will become the permanent presence of God s people acting and
relating with the world. God s word even makes provision to those who choose to join the nation
and accepts them as one born into the community (Exod. 12:48 49).15 While they were never to

The Characteristic Success In Outliers By Malcolm Gladwell
In the book Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell says extraordinary success is not about how hard a person

is not until a person chooses to take advantage of the opportunities they have been given can they

The Fundamental Time For Clean Renewable Energy Essay
The fundamental time for clean renewable energy is of the essence. Clean Energy or Renewable
Energy by definition is energy that is collected from resources which are naturally replenished on a
human timescale. This includes wind, rain, tides, geothermal heat, waves, and most relevant to the
project, sunlight. Non renewable Energy is the exact opposite and are natural things such as crude
oil, coal, natural gas, and tar sands that take thousands of years to replenish. These energies are the
main source of human energy use for technology.
They provide many advantages and supply a cheap price for such energy. The problem with this
is the depletion of Earth s natural resources and its harm to the environment. Clean Energy is how
we can fix such things. For the generations beyond, the people of earth need to focus on the
technology to make a clean energy future a reality. If there is no change, the future, will surely and
quickly turn to peril. So now, entering the stage, is the solar cell.
Solar cells or Photovoltaic cells capture the energy from the sun and convert it to electrical
energy (Singh and Ravindra 2012). They come in all different sizes. They can be small like a
phone or large like a house. Each has a different output and efficiency levels. Yet, what things

Analysis Of The Movie Coming Of America With Arsenio...
Travel is another manner to learn about life away from usual life. Urry (1990) states that holidays,
tourism, and travel are consumed because they supposedly generate pleasurable experiences which
are different from those typically encountered in everyday life. The director John Landis
demonstrates it in his movie Coming to Americawith Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, and Eddie
Murphy(Akeem) as the principal character. Eddie Murphy is a young prince from one of the
African Kingdom who wants to experience something different in the United States from what he
has been experiencing until his 21 year old birthday and before his get married. The purpose is
also to his own and true love during this journey. This prince desire follows the... Show more

The director of the movies, with this scene, supports Urry (1990) who said, The experiential,
experimental and the existence do not rely on the environmental bubble of conventional tourist
service. Indeed Murphy choice as a young African tourist is not conventional tourism.
Akeem is experiencing a new lifestyle by getting an apartment in a very dirty building and
losing all his items of luggage that were stolen by the poor people of the neighborhood. As he
hears the neighbors are making noises; he talks also louder to express his happiness and his
viewpoint as his neighbors in the building. He claims, I am a life, Descartes express this as, I
think therefore I am. The director paints here the difference between of life between his journey
and in his kingdom where he could not totally express himself in front of his father the king. I
am a life. This phrase indicates also that this journey is a way to find his own path as until now
he is living under the rule of his royal parent. Urry (1990) mentions that the desire of traveling as a
need to restore the body and mind. To continue to be himself, he cuts also the hair symbol of his
royalty family. Bauer and McKercher (2003) claim that tourists increase their degree of anonymity
and freedom. Graburn (2001) links that desire to get away to the ritual theory of tourism that the

Kesha Symbolism
The release of Kesha s song, Praying signals the liberation of Kesha s musical purgatory after 4
years. Over the past few years, Kesha Rose was bound to an exclusive contract with Dr. Luke
which hasn t allowed her to release or produce any new music. She claimed in a lawsuit that this
contract enabled Dr. Luke to control every aspect of her life. Kesha has accused him of both
verbal and sexual abuse during this contract. As of March 2017, Dr. Luke s role as CEO of his
record company has been expired and Sony, the company that owned Dr. Luke s record label
didn t renew it, and has released Kesha from her contract. Now, Kesha is able to release new
music she writes on her own, all seen on her new album Rainbow which Praying is on. To
develop the underlying message of the song, Kesha uses setting, point of view, and symbolism
throughout her music video. Coming from a sensitive place in her life, Kesha uses setting in her
music video to convey her emotional state. In the music video Kesha starts off in a dark basement
surrounded by people dressed as pigs, whom she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Solely in the music video Kesha states If I am alive, why? Why? What is the lesson? What is
the point?... God give me a sign or I have to give up. I can t do this anymore (Rose). Kesha s
point of view is in the first person revealing only her thoughts and feelings. She does this by
speaking in the background as an inner monologue, letting the viewer/listener know that she is
only asking herself these questions. Kesha is doing this because it shows how she feels and her
attitude towards not only her life, but the concept of why she should be alive. Kesha s point of
view demonstrates her true colors by revealing her tone through rhetorical questions in the
beginning of her music video that later set a path that reveal what happens next through her song

Cave Paintings Essay
Creating art is one of the single defining factors that set humans apart from animal species.
Through art, humans are able to express their innermost ideas and feelings, without having the
difficulty of trying to find the correct words to accurately describe their thought processes. Works
of art can help us to understand the people who have come before us. This is evidenced by the
knowledge humans have discovered of prehistoric men and their symbolic cave paintings. The
expression, style, and meaning vary and archaeologists put in much effort to uncover these works.
The first evidence of cave art appeared in Western Europe (Berenguer 67). Early cave paintings
were characteristic of Western art. They were supported by an acute vision,... Show more content on

It is often found to be extremely animalistic. The animals most commonly depicted are horses,
deer, reindeer, bison, ipex, aurochs, woolly rhinoceroses, and mammoths. Sometimes lions and
bears are also created, but rarely fish or birds. Humans were also commonly represented
(Berenguer 73). Prehistoric men also created abstract designs that have proven hard to identify.
They are referred to as signs and a special nomenclature has been developed to better understand
their meaning. Tectiforms are generally quadrangular shapes, with crossing vertical lines inside
forming a trellis or mesh design. Tectiforms often appear near naturalistic figures of animals.
Scutiforms have been thought to represent the female vulva. They are formed by red patches,
often in the form of a comma or a key. Other types of signs are penniforms, ramiforms, and
claviforms. The exact meanings of most of these signs remain unknown (Berenguer 82). The
French scholar Leroi Gourhan formed a theory regarding the animalistic and abstract art
representations. He believed all depictions revolved around the law of sex, noting that the
philosophy of the prehistoric men concentrated all explanations on sex and sexual relations. Cave
art depictions of animals are divided into male and female. The male animals are horses, she goats,
and deer. Bison, bovidae, and mammoths are female. The signs are also divided into gender
categories. Triangles, rectangles, ramiforms, tectiforms, and scutiforms are

My Favorite Superheros
Ever since I was a little girl I have looked up to and loved superheroes. Most of the superheroes are
from Detective Comics or DC Comics for short (yes, that is Detective Comics Comics.)
Nightwing has been my favorite superhero for as long as I can remember. Obviously, Wonder
Woman as well, she is a big reason why I am a feminist. The Flashhas been one of my favorite
superheroes since I was super young. However, I do not care so much for the second Flash, Barry
Allen or even the original Flash, Jay Garrick. I have always preferred the third Flash, Wally West.
My favorite Green Lanternis John Stewart. To me, all of the superheroes in DC Comics are my
favorite superheroes, but those ones stand out the most to me. Not Marvel, they suck. Nightwing.

Soon after the adoption of the nine year old boy, he became Batman s first sidekick to use the name
Robin. The first time I ever seen Dick Grayson was when I was around three years old in the
anime styled cartoon titled, Teen Titans. I absolutely adored that show and I still do. However,
looking back on it and rewatching episodes, they really made him be a lot like Batman, which is
fine if you do not know the comic book character because I did not at the time. His character in
the comics is definitely different than how they portrayed him in the show. He is more outgoing
than Batman and is very sarcastic. He will talk to his enemies and distract them that way. He is
not a depressed boy in a costume trying to scare people, that is Batman. To me, Batman just does
not have any personality compared to Robin. I just wish they would have portrayed him better than
they did. Anyhow, after years of being Robin, Dick Grayson wanted to be an independent
superhero. At age eighteen, he made that happen by getting an all new suit that was all black with
a blue bird on it (unless we are talking about the original Nightwing suit because that was light

Nitinol Lab Report
Introduction The purpose of this lab was to examine nitinol s, a nickel Titanium shape memory
alloy, solid phase transformations and behaviors, a shape memory alloy can be defined as a specific
group of metal alloys that can recover from a seemingly permanent strain by applying a certain
amount of heat to the substance. This occurs through a slight rearrangement of the atoms within the
solid. The structure of the austenite phase of nitinol is very rigid and perfectly aligned, whereas the
martensite phase is soft and can be deformed easily. Additionally this lab also explored identifying a
set of unknown wires by comparing calculated densities to known densities for each of the wires,
estimating the temperature when the transformation from the martensitic phase of nitinol to the
austenitic phase of nitinol occurs, retraining the nitinol wire to a new austenitic shape, and
examining the acoustic properties for nitinol in both the martensitic phase and austenitic phase
through an online investigation. Experimental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The wire was bent into an L shape before being paced into a 100 mL beaker filled with water
which was on top of the hot plate and the temperature was monitored using the Vernier
temperature and Logger Pro software. The observations were recorded and compared to the
observations made by other lab groups. Part 4 of the lab involved retraining the nitinol wire. The
wire was held in the desired shape then heated using a 500+ degrees Celsius flame. The wire was
held firmly using two sets of needle nose pliers above a tea candle lit with a utility lighter until
the tension in the wire was released and then the wire was quickly removed from the flame to
avoid damage. After allowing the wire to cool, observations were

Rape Myth Acceptance
Rape Myth Acceptance: Maintaining the Status Quo
According to the FBI database, in the year 2013 a rape occurred roughly once every 6.6 minutes.
(US Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2014). This is based on 79,770
reported cases of rape following an eighty year old definition, which defines rape as carnal
knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will (US Department of Justice Federal Bureau of
Investigation, 2014). In 2013 however, the definition of rape was changed, and now reads,
Penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral
penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim (US Department of
Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are even studies which have found women more likely than men to blame the victim.
(Stromwall, Alfredsson, Landstrom, 2012, p. 255) In a study of first and second year college
students it was also shown that students with a higher sexual knowledge were less likely to
accept rape myths. (Aronowitz, Lambert, Davidoff, 2012, p. 179) The same study also stated that
despite the correlation between a higher sexual knowledge and lower rape myth acceptance
(RMA), that increasing knowledge only will not fix this problem, but it is a necessary piece of the

  • 2. The And The Righteous Sufferer Job and the Righteous Sufferer The question Why do bad things happen to good people? has most likely been around for a very long time. It will always stay relevant as long as there are natural disasters killing so many people and making others suffer, many of them being innocent. There is no common factor found among all people that suffer great physical and emotional pain. It happens to people of all religions, ethnicities, and morality. Sufferingdoes not seek out the guilty, it is just a part of life. Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to all people, so even the righteous can suffer, which is seen in The Poem of the Righteous Sufferer, and The Book of Job. He simply will never know their reasoning or their intention of allowing earthly events to unfold the way that they do (RS II:36 37). He says he does not understand the people who praise gods when things go well, but reject them as soon as things turn for the worse, which he also says can happen instantly (RS II:44 47). The speaker questions these hypocritical people, and seems to have a better grasp on the true nature of the gods than the average person. He knows that humans cannot understand the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job, the book s eponymous character. Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. God goes as far as to call him a blameless and upright man and says he is a one of a kind worshipper (Job 1:8). He also endures great suffering, which all came as the result of Satan questioning if Job s worshipping was true and pure (Job 1:10 11). God takes Satan up on this bet and allows him to cause make Job s life miserable (Job 1:12). At first, Job stays a righteous man, but eventually he breaks down and curses his birth (Job 3). Job becomes exactly the type of person that Shubshi meshre Shakkan was talking about (someone who questions God in bad times), and his friend Eliphaz tells him that. He says, Your words have supported those who were stumbling, and you have made firm the feeble knees. But now it has come to you, and you are impatient, (Job 4:4 5). African Elephants ( Loxadonta Africana ) And Amur Tigers African elephants (Loxadonta africana) and amur tigers (Panthera tigris altaica), despite being classed as mammals they show a great diversity, one is a carnivore and one is a herbivore. Whether in the wild or held in captivity, African elephants and tigers (like all animals) are susceptible to certain diseases, these diseases can either be bacterial, viral, fungal or parasitic. Having the knowledge when an animal is in good and poor health is vital. To ensure an animal is in good health the animal needs to be in good body condition, good appetite and is relaxed. If an elephantapproaches you with almost half closed, lazy eyes and its tail is slowly swishing from side to side, it is a good sign that it is relaxed (Londolozi, 2016). For a tiger, it will squint or close its eyes; this is because loosing vision lowers defence. The animals eyes are to be clear and bright, skin is to be soft and resilient, healthy soles and claws. However, when animals suffer from poor health, some common clinical signs to look for are, loss of appetite and weight loss. Depending on the disease, as you get closer to the animal you will notice its eyes are very dull and the mucous membranes may have changed colour. If in pain it will be restless and it might even be groaning. Depending on the disease, the animal will scour or be constipated and the passing of urine might also cease (ACS Distance Education, 2016). This statement specifically refers to the well documented issues related to delayed charting and nurses recalling, often improperly, the events of a situation. Recall is one of two ways used to re access a memory (the other is recognition). According to Mastin, recall occurs when we remember a fact, event or object that is not physically present (2010). Overall, timely charting should become a habit for the nurses at Excela Home Health and Hospice Care Service. I believe that the best change theory to set this change in motion is Kotter s 2012 Eight Step Plan for Integrating Change. This would be the most effective because it is the most specific and seems as though it could function throughout an entire hospital department. For example, according to Grossman (2017), Kotter s first step is to identify a need and communicate the necessity (p. 53). In this scenario, the need would be for more timely charting and the necessity would be to improve patient care and nurses state of mind (it is hard to function well when tired from staying up all night charting). The second step is to, create power in numbers to lead the change (p. 53). This would be done by motivating the supervisors to engage both management and nurses. The third through eighth steps involve developing the policy, communicating the policy, and then implementing and enforcing it, and finally evaluating the functionality of the policy after it is in place. Essay Bulimia Nervosa BULIMIA NERVOSA 307.51 (F50.2) Introduction Individuals diagnosed with bulimia nervosa undertake frequent binge eating, followed by expelling the food, typically by inducing vomiting, but also through exercising and the use of laxative agents, diuretics, and enemas (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). The binge eating occurrences are often prompted by a negative perception of one s body image, temporarily alleviated by the binge eating episode. Since the individual with bulimia nervosa is overanxious about body weight, purging of the food is viewed as a necessity. This is in contrast to binge eating disorder, which does not involve the purging of food after an excess of food consumption (Bulik et al., 2012). Furthermore, although ... Specifically, if these events take place at a minimum of one time per week over a 3 month timespan then a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa may be made. Although these are the symptoms that must be present in order for a diagnosis of bulimia nervosa to be made, there are often other symptoms that accompany bulimia nervosa. Signs of psychosis have been found in patients with eating disorders like bulimia nervosa (Miotto et al., 2010). Moreover, those with bulimia nervosa frequently have the feeling that there is something flawed with their mind, and that others are at fault for their problems (Miotto et al., 2010). In addition, there is evidence that a feeling of loneliness is correlated with the occurrence of bulimia nervosa (Levine, 2012), highlighting the psychological dynamics that are at play behind this disorder. Causes of Bulimia Nervosa: from genetics to environment The environmental and biological mechanisms that underlie bulimia nervosa have been researched in some depth. The principle mechanisms that give rise to bulimia nervosa may be classified into two groups: genetic variables at play and environmental factors that impact the patient. However, some critics consider education as archaic and unimaginative, for it preserves the practices of pencil and paper, textbooks and notes. In the past decade, technology advanced faster than previously before, forcing the question whether schools and communities should integrate technology with education. In addition, boards consider how much is appropriate to include in the educational standards while maintaining a balance with traditional methods. Schools argue that these tablets or other technological devices are a cost burden on the school district since they have to pay and maintain a higher bandwidth cost, in addition to the initial cost of purchasing the tablets. Ray Bradbury shows us in his two stories, The Veldt and Marionettes, Inc. that there is something we can t contend with; technology. In these stories the author shows us a world where people are distant because of and can t compete with technology. In Ray Bradbury s short story The Veldt he shows us a family that is so distant from each other because of technology. The Hadley family lives in a Happylife Home that does everything for them and the children depend on their nursery that has raised them their entire lives. Mr. David McClean comments to Mr. Hadley, You ve let this room and this house replace you and your wife in your children s affections. Children Wendy and Peter live in their own personal bubble because they don t have to rely on their parents for anything. The children rely so much on their nursery that it has replaced and made them so distant from their own parents. Technology has become the children s parents; their role model. • 19. Biological Determinism And Social And Economic Differences... Question 1. Biological determinism as stated by Gould, states that shared behavioral norms, and the social and economic differences between human groups primarily races, classes, and sexes arise from inherited, inborn distinctions and that society, in this sense, is an accurate reflection of biology (Gould, p.52). He explains this idea further through his explanation of how biological determinism can be measured or assigned based on the craniometry, which is the size of the skull, for at the time it was believed that the larger the skull, the more intelligent that individual was. This explanation became one of the earliest works connected to scientific racism. Gould, believed that during this time many scientists used their own prejudices, and bias s when concluding their research, such as the work of French anthropologist, Paul Broca, who stated that the small brains of women concluded that men were to be regarded as more intelligent, as well as, above women, however, although women did prove this prejudice to be wrong with their talents and their diplomas , they were still opposed by numbers (Gould, p. 58). Biological determinism is, in its essence, a theory of limits for it states that people who are at the bottom are basically biologically inferior, which is reflected in their social status (Gould, p. 60). • 21. Essay about Father Roles Heaney Father Roles Heaney Father Roles There are many factors that will shape a young boy s life, but possibly none more important than the role of that boy s father. Seamus Heaney and Theodore Roethke both have shown the importance of the father role in their poems Digging and My Papas Waltz. Although the roles of the fathers in these poems were different, the respect and admiration shown by their sons is one in the same. Weather it is Heaney s father digging under his window, or Roehtke s father dancing him around as a little boy, the love shown in these two poems, shows a direct relation on the lives they shared with their fathers. Overall, Heaney s love for his father was a powerful factor in his deciding to become a writer. Roethke s peom, My Papas Waltz , shows us a completely different relationship among the father and son. In the opening line, we read The whisky on your breath/could make a small boy dizzy; this, to some, arises suspicion as to weather this is a happy dance, or a violent one. Many will debate over weather or not this represents a happy time or a violent relationship, but this is further clarified when Roethke writes But I hung on like death this shows that the boy was in fact having fun dancing with his father (Magill 1453). You can sense the anger in the motheras you read My mothers countenance/could not unfrown itself. This shows that despite the mothers feelings of anger towards the dance, the son was enjoying it, so they went on (Malkoff 344). The last two lines of the poem further illustrate the boys love for the dance with his father; Then waltzed me off to bed/still clinging to your shirt. This shows that after a long day of work, the boys father would come home and have a drink, and then waltz Theodore around the kitchen. The love between Roethke and his father is shown throughout the poem, and can be seen in many ways, some wish to view ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Energy Conservation I am not surprised that the jury is still out on the convenience and comfort of energy conservation since the confidence in coal, oil and nuclear power has been shaken over the years. The extraction methods used in fracking and shale oil reserves should be under investigation by United States because he landowners are constantly approached by unscrupulous companies eager to drill for oil and natural gasbut with no clean up requirement enforced by the state and federal laws. The New York Times articles outlines concerns and doubts as a result of this natural gas rush. California, Colorado and a host other states are rushing to join the United States natural gas boom. I believe that the shift from coal to gas is a great investment not to be ignored by the United States, China and other developing countries. Errors are great opportunities to ensure the efficient transferring of knowledge. Liquid energy is part of our life and ignoring the importance will not solve the problems that can arise from faulty extracting methods. Our ancestors over a century ago considered natural gas a waste product in oil fields however the discovery of a large gas Vautor Laplaceliere 2 Field in the Panhandle in 1918 opened avenues for its use in the manufacturing of car tires and home heating. It is extremely important that organizations make their company more enticing as an incomparable career opportunity. Instituting a total rewards system into an organization can do much to help it invite the paramount talent available and significantly condense turnover. It is now fairly common for today s labor force to change jobs every couple of years, rather than maintain longevity with one company. Turnover costs for many corporations are costly and can drastically affect the financial functioning of an organization. An organization that is successful in reducing their labor costs will be able to enjoy a better profit margin. Strategic planning must be implemented to assess the cost of turnover, build retention strategies, and strategize for anticipated and unforeseen turnover and a shifting labor force culture. Organizations are aware of the tight labor market and are heightening their visibility to the situation. Catholic Church Reformation Essay To understand the history of the Protestant Church and the Reformation, it is first important to understand that one of the positions that claims the Catholic Church is apostolic succession. This simply means that they claim to be the sole authority over all other churches and denominations because they support the entire line of Roman Catholic Popes back to back centuries, to the apostle Peter. From their point of view, it gives the Catholic Churcha unique authority which puts it above all other denominations or church. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, this apostolic succession is only found in the Catholic Church and no other church can not validly claim it. It is because of this apostolic succession that the Roman Catholic Church claims to have the sole authority to interpret Scripture and to establish doctrine, and also supports having a supreme leader, the Pope, who is infallible (without error) when he speaks ex cathedra that is to say in the exercise of his ministry as pastor and teacher of all Christians. Thus, from the perspective of Roman Catholic teaching or traditions of the Roman Catholic Church, since they come from the Pope, are endowed with infallibility and an authority equal to that of the Scriptures them same. If organizations are to thrive and be sustaining, they need to respond to the dynamics of their environment with change. However, change is not a singular event with an isolated focus (Spector, 2007). Effective strategic renewal is a combination of the three faces of change turnaround, which targets costs; technology, which targets internal process; and behavioral, which targets employee actions and interactions (Spector, 2007). In a discussion on change management, particularly management by control versus management by shaping, Palmer, et al. (2009) draw a similar conclusion that organizations and human systems are complex and evolving and therefore cannot be reduced to a single, linear objective of maximizing shareholder value (p. 50). Forces for Change Despite some variations in change approach labels among academic research, it seems generally accepted that forces for change are the catalyst for change itself. Gibson, et al. (2009) classified forces for change into two groups; environmental and internal, and further described environmental forces as those generally beyond management s control and internal forces generally within management s control. These forces for change trigger an intervention or change process that can take any of three approaches: structural, behavioral, or technological (Gibson, et al. 2009). Sometimes, surveillances are useful for catching criminals. Oftentimes, over monitoring individuals may violates personal freedoms and sometimes the government over exceeds its boundaries to obtain personal information. There are four types of privacyrelated activities that a federal, state, and local government can have control over. The first activity deals with collection of information of individual citizens. After the collection of this information, a government may store, manipulate, or use this data against someone. Third, this collected information may spread to other agencies. Finally, sharing personal information may disrupt someone s daily activities and solitude. There are various ways in which the government and law enforcement can gather information of private citizens. For example, census records collect information about households related to ethnicity, language, marital status, or lifestyles. Other collection gathering methods like the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) collects names, social security numbers, income, and assets of each US worker. Non renewable Energy is the exact opposite and are natural things such as crude oil, coal, natural gas, and tar sands that take thousands of years to replenish. • 43. Kesha Symbolism The release of Kesha s song, Praying signals the liberation of Kesha s musical purgatory after 4 years. Over the past few years, Kesha Rose was bound to an exclusive contract with Dr. Luke which hasn t allowed her to release or produce any new music. She claimed in a lawsuit that this contract enabled Dr. Luke to control every aspect of her life. Kesha has accused him of both verbal and sexual abuse during this contract. As of March 2017, Dr. Luke s role as CEO of his record company has been expired and Sony, the company that owned Dr. Luke s record label didn t renew it, and has released Kesha from her contract. Now, Kesha is able to release new music she writes on her own, all seen on her new album Rainbow which Praying is on. To develop the underlying message of the song, Kesha uses setting, point of view, and symbolism throughout her music video. Coming from a sensitive place in her life, Kesha uses setting in her music video to convey her emotional state. Solely in the music video Kesha states If I am alive, why? Why? What is the lesson? What is the point?... God give me a sign or I have to give up. I can t do this anymore (Rose). Kesha s point of view is in the first person revealing only her thoughts and feelings. She does this by speaking in the background as an inner monologue, letting the viewer/listener know that she is only asking herself these questions. Kesha is doing this because it shows how she feels and her attitude towards not only her life, but the concept of why she should be alive. Kesha s point of view demonstrates her true colors by revealing her tone through rhetorical questions in the beginning of her music video that later set a path that reveal what happens next through her song and examples of ... • 44. Cave Paintings Essay Creating art is one of the single defining factors that set humans apart from animal species. Through art, humans are able to express their innermost ideas and feelings, without having the difficulty of trying to find the correct words to accurately describe their thought processes. Works of art can help us to understand the people who have come before us. This is evidenced by the knowledge humans have discovered of prehistoric men and their symbolic cave paintings. The expression, style, and meaning vary and archaeologists put in much effort to uncover these works. The first evidence of cave art appeared in Western Europe (Berenguer 67). Early cave paintings were characteristic of Western art. They were supported by an acute vision,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is often found to be extremely animalistic. The animals most commonly depicted are horses, deer, reindeer, bison, ipex, aurochs, woolly rhinoceroses, and mammoths. Sometimes lions and bears are also created, but rarely fish or birds. Humans were also commonly represented (Berenguer 73). Prehistoric men also created abstract designs that have proven hard to identify. They are referred to as signs and a special nomenclature has been developed to better understand their meaning. Tectiforms are generally quadrangular shapes, with crossing vertical lines inside forming a trellis or mesh design. Tectiforms often appear near naturalistic figures of animals. Scutiforms have been thought to represent the female vulva. They are formed by red patches, often in the form of a comma or a key. Other types of signs are penniforms, ramiforms, and claviforms. The exact meanings of most of these signs remain unknown (Berenguer 82). The French scholar Leroi Gourhan formed a theory regarding the animalistic and abstract art representations. He believed all depictions revolved around the law of sex, noting that the philosophy of the prehistoric men concentrated all explanations on sex and sexual relations. Cave art depictions of animals are divided into male and female. The male animals are horses, she goats, and deer. Bison, bovidae, and mammoths are female. The signs are also divided into gender categories. Triangles, rectangles, ramiforms, tectiforms, and scutiforms are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. My Favorite Superheros Ever since I was a little girl I have looked up to and loved superheroes. Most of the superheroes are from Detective Comics or DC Comics for short (yes, that is Detective Comics Comics.) Nightwing has been my favorite superhero for as long as I can remember. Obviously, Wonder Woman as well, she is a big reason why I am a feminist. The Flashhas been one of my favorite superheroes since I was super young. However, I do not care so much for the second Flash, Barry Allen or even the original Flash, Jay Garrick. I have always preferred the third Flash, Wally West. My favorite Green Lanternis John Stewart. To me, all of the superheroes in DC Comics are my favorite superheroes, but those ones stand out the most to me. Not Marvel, they suck. Nightwing. Dick... The first time I ever seen Dick Grayson was when I was around three years old in the anime styled cartoon titled, Teen Titans. I absolutely adored that show and I still do. However, looking back on it and rewatching episodes, they really made him be a lot like Batman, which is fine if you do not know the comic book character because I did not at the time. His character in the comics is definitely different than how they portrayed him in the show. He is more outgoing than Batman and is very sarcastic. He will talk to his enemies and distract them that way. He is not a depressed boy in a costume trying to scare people, that is Batman. To me, Batman just does not have any personality compared to Robin. I just wish they would have portrayed him better than they did. Anyhow, after years of being Robin, Dick Grayson wanted to be an independent superhero. At age eighteen, he made that happen by getting an all new suit that was all black with a blue bird on it (unless we are talking about the original Nightwing suit because that was light ... • 46. Nitinol Lab Report Introduction The purpose of this lab was to examine nitinol s, a nickel Titanium shape memory alloy, solid phase transformations and behaviors, a shape memory alloy can be defined as a specific group of metal alloys that can recover from a seemingly permanent strain by applying a certain amount of heat to the substance. This occurs through a slight rearrangement of the atoms within the solid. The structure of the austenite phase of nitinol is very rigid and perfectly aligned, whereas the martensite phase is soft and can be deformed easily. Additionally this lab also explored identifying a set of unknown wires by comparing calculated densities to known densities for each of the wires, estimating the temperature when the transformation from the martensitic phase of nitinol to the austenitic phase of nitinol occurs, retraining the nitinol wire to a new austenitic shape, and examining the acoustic properties for nitinol in both the martensitic phase and austenitic phase through an online investigation. The wire was held in the desired shape then heated using a 500+ degrees Celsius flame. The wire was held firmly using two sets of needle nose pliers above a tea candle lit with a utility lighter until the tension in the wire was released and then the wire was quickly removed from the flame to avoid damage.
