Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s Film
Branagh s adaptation of Mary Shelly s novel was fairly good with significant changes to Shelly s
text; however this was done to illuminate what he considers to be the major themes of the novel, eg
the dangers of the relentless pursuit of science and Victor s relationships.
Victors love interest with Elizabeth in the film is much more intense compared to what is described
in the novel as communication is mostly through letters, whereas in the film Branagh has
Elizabeth follow him left, right and centre, she even comes to his sick bed after the creation. This
however is for the interest of the audience as many people enjoy love ... Show more content on

As in Shelley s novel victors reaction is the beauty of the dream vanished and disgust filled my
heart , but Branaghs film attempts to address why he abandons the monster and also how close
Victor was to his family. This makes it even more triadic to bare witness to their deaths, especially
when the distraught Elizabeth is seen carrying Williams s lifeless body, the thunderstorm also sets
the scene and makes the audience feel hatred for the monster and despair for Victor and his family.
Branagh showed the misery of the monster, especially when it was rejected by the De Lacy family
but I think Branagh was very much one sided on where our sympathies should lie and this was
clearly directed towards Victor, this maybe because Branagh is the director as well as Victor. I
think Branagh should have portrayed one aspect of the book in more detail and that is the
eloquence of the creature. Having Clerval stay alive also seems to serve a purpose, this meant
they Victors conscience was there to observe what he did to Elizabeth. Also having Justine killed
in that manner made it seem more painful for Victor as he did not even have a court case as an
attempt to save her innocent life. I think Helena Carter made a good Elizabeth as she portrayed the
characters beauty; however she was a bit boisterous for that particular

The Twilight Sag Teenage, Vampire, Romance
Twilight Saga: Teenage, Vampire, Romance The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer created a
massive fan following that grew into a supernatural franchise. The story of Bella and Edward was
in the hands of countless teenagers and adults alike, captivating audiences with the classic story of
young love, but with a vampire twist. The books were published starting when I was a young
teenager, and I was not immune to the charms of a sparkly vampire fighting his desire for lovefor
the sake of her safety. I religious read all four books, a few times, until the hard covers cracked at
the edges, and the open books fell open to my favorite parts from being opened for so long.
After the books created a sensation, a movie series was created. In a non surprising fashion, the
movies were popular, but as any book lover will tell you about any movie made after a book, the
book was better, way better. Reading the story at the time, I ignored critics of the book,
swearing by its love story and defending the text as it stood in my world. Re reading this book
as an adult who has continued to read, I came to the realizations that my tastes have evolved over
time. I still enjoyed the story during my re read this past time, but the writing was not as striking;
gone was the passion and addiction so deep I could not set the books down. The first time I read
Breaking Dawn, I read it straight it twelve hours not stopping for anything. I read from 7pm until
7am, this month reading Twilight, was nowhere

Analysis of the Author s Writing Techniques in Angelou s I...
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou is an autobiography with a fictional aspect
that depicts the life of Maya herself from the time she was eight to sixteen. The in depth stories
reveal the struggle and hardships she faced growing up. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a true
account of the murders of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansason November 15, 1959. The book
gives a more thorough look at the details of the family and the killers, the book is written to take the
events and elevate them into a story, enabling the event to transcend their specific historical
moment. Capoteassembles the facts and perspectives about the Clutter murder into a narrative,
creating that feeling of a fiction book.

It fell flat on the big vat of lard and by noontime in the summer the grease had softened to a thick
soup. (pg. 16) The theme in the book was growing up black in the south, and the racism that
came with it. The development of the theme is what categorizes the book as a fiction. I Know
Why the Caged Bird Sings starts out discussing the family and the problems within the family,
and as the book progresses it begins to unravel the deeper theme of racism. However, the theme
also incorporates the chronological element of the plot and stories into a sequence of life events
that make the narrator, Angelou, the person she is. The first person narration is witnessed all
throughout the book, every page is told in her perspective and the readers learn more about her
than the other characters. Provided, that factor is what gives the book its autobiographical
component. Since all of these conventions of fiction are so prominent the book is considered an
autobiographical fiction, but mainly read as if were just fiction.
In Cold Blood was written as an account of the murder of a family and to convey the truth behind
the fictional facet of the book, Capote uses the convention of point of view by narrating the story
from 3 different perspectives: the Clutters, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith, and a neutral third
person. The alternating perspectives enable the readers to understand both sides of the

Importance Of Immunizations
Meta Description: Immunizations have an important role in preventing the diseases and infections
that can impair the health of seniors and decrease their quality of life.

Title: Immunizations Play an Important Role in Your Health
Like many people, you probably get a flu shot every year. But what about the other immunizations
you ve heard about? Your Pegasus caregiver and your doctor can answer your questions.
It s easy to decide as you age that you don t need a vaccination against this or that. Although you are

Tell your doctor before any injection if you:
Are allergic to eggs
Are allergic to latex
Have Guillain Barre syndrome
Have a fever
Have any illness or disease
Your doctor also needs to know if you ve had a severe reaction to a vaccinein the past.
Minor reactions to immunization are limited to:
Redness at the injection site
Slight pain at the injection site
Muscle aches
Low fever
Malaise
These are all temporary symptoms and pass within a day or two.
Your caregiver is trained to recognize serious reactions. He or she will consult with your doctor to
ensure that you obtain treatment if needed. Otherwise, your caregiver will strive to keep you
comfortable.
It s also important that you receive your immunizations at the right time. A home health care
specialist helps you keep a record of what you ve had and when. If needed, your caregiver will
schedule an appointment and transport you to the doctor s office.
Most physicians recommend the following vaccinations for seniors:
Influenza
Pneumonia
Shingles
Tdap
These are all intended to prevent infection.
Influenza
Influenza, or the flu, is very contagious. The older an individual is, the more serious it can be. It
can worsen any existing condition.
Complications of the flu can land you in a hospital. You may still get the flu if you re vaccinated,
but the infection will be much milder. Because the viruses that cause influenza constantly change,
you need a new flu shot each year.

Summary Of Lysistrata
Lysistrata by Aristophanes is seen to be a comical play used to show the impact of war not only on
the ones physically in the war, but the ones mentally involved also. This play was written to help
express the feeling the author had about the war occurring during the time the work was written.
Lysistrata, the main character, is a strong womanwho decides to become as what could be said as
being rebellious . She does this by refusing to have sexual relations with the men in the city until
it was agreed that peace would be declared between the two troops. She calls a meeting with the
women in the city and include them in her vindictive ideas to bring the war to an end. This play is
sure to bring a smile to the readers face due to the comical events that occur. However, comedy is
not the only thing that becomes apparent within the play. Throughout the work of Lysistratathere are
three themes that become apparent during this play: peace and harmony, control by gender, and
politics.
Peace and Harmony is the central theme in the play. Lysistrata is out to end the prolonged war.
After consideration on how to accomplish her wishes, and idea finally arises. Lysistrata holds a
meeting with all the women to become rebellious and refuse to have sexual relations with the men.
During this meeting between all the women, Lysistrata states, From now on, no more penises for
you (Line 124). The women first do not know how to react as they have not seen their husbands in
months. However,

When I think of my swim career, it s these words spoken by Michael Phelps that I feel most sum
up my journey with this incredible sport. My swim career is not a story that boasts of incredible
talent or greatness, but rather one of how my constant sacrifice for the sport I love has contributed
greatly to the place I hold in my swim career today.

Topic: Voting in Election
Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to vote in democratic elections to voice out their
opinions and beliefs regardless of their background, to decide for their future, and to preserve the
essence of democracy.
Attention: * Provide a vivid description of people struggling to fight for their voting rights in certain
countries. * Share relevant facts /statistics of how a small number of votes could have change the
course of history in certain countries:
I. In year 1867, one vote gave United States the state of Alaska. The 1867 purchase of Alaska was

* Ask the audience: When people in other countries are struggling to fight for voting rights, why are
we not exercising our rights, wasting it away to nothing?
Need A. Voting allows people to voice out their opinions and beliefs regardless of background.
Voting gives the population an equal opportunity completely blind of sex, race, origin, education in
contributing to community development (Akande, 2011).
B. Voting allows people to decide for their own futures.
If people do not vote, it would lead the country to a very vulnerable and perilous position due to
incompetent and irresponsible leaders. Not voting during an election is voting indirectly against
democracy and making way for irresponsible leaders (Akande, 2011).
C. Voting preserves the essence of democracy.
Voting is the foremost way to exhibit good citizenship and civil responsibility. People should get
involved in elections and educated in all political measures. By this they become good and
responsible participatory citizens. It should always be remembered that some people sacrifice their
lives to preserve the freedom and voting opportunity as a sacred right. True democracy demands the
involvement of the people otherwise in absence of that there is no democracy(Akande, 2011).
Satisfaction: I. If people vote in elections, it would reduce corruption, reduce poverty and
inequalities and lead to a better and more efficient government.

Core Concepts Of Identity Paper
Core Concepts
Identity
Identity refers to structured sense of self, which manipulates itself in threads of life (Burr,
2015). Figure 1 of TЕ«rangawaewae shows individuals identity can be classified under our age,
our gender (male or female), the values and beliefs we share (religious or non religious), the
experiences ( good or bad), the people we surround ourselves with (friends and family), also not
limited to, from our genetic inheritance (ancestors or parents). However, identity threads are not
pre inherited but are pre constructed idea influenced by social experiences (Kahu, 2015). I am a

Yet again participation in social events constructs a new identity, a voice. Voices are not just the
right to vote or express belonging through the act of protest, as not all voices are intended to get
acknowledged (Kahu, 2015). Being a union member I portray my identity in a different way.
Participating in strikes is my way of conveying my rights. This participation concludes my idea of
raising awareness of what is important to my identity, my sense of belonging in a community.
Although an act of protest may not make a difference in an overall outcome, it can still leave the
idea behind for future consideration. Not always we act on behalf of conveying the self belonging
but the belonging of a community as a whole. In the end my rights is my

Frame Narrative In Beowulf
Early English literature proceeds from orally transmitted storytelling, relying on the construction of
an epic past to develop a sense of patriotism within the country. As written culture becomes more
prevalent, however, this genre s timeless attribute diminishes due an increase in recorded history
which gradually turns literature s focus from mystical origins to a concrete present. Frame narrative,
or stories within a story, exist prevalently within the epic genre, but persist throughout this
transition, generally preserving structure, but mutating in function. Although early literature forms
like the epic employ frame narratives to convey their grandiose style, the transition from historical
epics to satirical poetry aligns with frame narrative s transition as an element of style to one of
theme. In British oral tradition, storytellingmainly serves to instill patriotic zeal within citizens. The
advent of literacy results in the transcription of these stories, which predominantly take the form of
the epic: an origin story in which an epic hero displays heroic acts in a setting with few temporal
cues, disconnecting the story from any specific point in history. Beowulf, one such epic, exhibits
these properties, with events transpiring without indication of the relative passage of time. One
literary device which lends itself to the manifestation of this quality, the frame narrative, muddles
the reader s perspective of time by constantly by jumping between events in the main

unfortunately for them, they may not have been considered when Sherwood Middle School chose

The Economic Differences Between The Upper And Lower Class
All through history, the lower class has repeatedly been placed at a disadvantage. This group has
been suppressed to their superior counterparts since the beginning of time. Society may try to
ignore the gap, but it is dangerously prominent and constantly growing. The economical difference
is only one part of many in the differences of the rich and the poor. Hence the fact that they are
tremendously different in most aspects and this keeps the divide at large. It is also vastly difficult
to move up the class because the wealthy want to remain as prosperous as they can. Even though it
is not always obvious, the upper and lower classes are differentiated by their opportunities
throughout life, their education, and their social status.
The upper class of today is categorized as the part of society that has a surplus of money. This
surplus means the wealthy do not have to worry about income and tend to separate themselves
from those that do have this worry. Those that do have to worry about their weekly income are a
part of the middle class. These citizens are at the bottom of society and have the lowest quality of
life. These two groups are the polar ends of this world s society and contain the most diverse
lifestyles in many aspects. Unfortunately, all the inferior qualities fall with the lower division of
human culture.
Expanding on this, one major difference between the upper and lower class is that of education. In
the majority of lower class families, a strong education

Similarities Between Buddhism And Buddhism
Buddhism, like other world religions, is not one homogeneous grouping of like minded devotees
adhering to one school of thought. Just as Christianity has its Catholics and Protestants, and Islam
its Sunnis and Shiites, Buddhism is also comprised of various schools and sects. Some scholars
separate Buddhist schools into geographical groupings, such as Southern, Eastern and Northern
traditions, whereas some prefer to focus on a more tradition specific delineation, such as Theravada,
Mahayana, and Vajrayana Buddhism(Cousins 1998, p. 370; Buddhism 2015 ). All traditions accept
the fundamental Buddhist doctines of Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, anatta
(absence of soul) and karma (causation), but differ on other significant aspects. This essay will
compare and contrast two Buddhist traditions, the Therevada Buddhism of Sri Lanka, and
Mahayana Buddhism of China. Theravada Buddhism can also be characterised as representative of
the Southern tradition of Buddhism, whereas Mahayana is of the Eastern tradition. This essay will
also address how these particular types of Buddhism developed in their respective countries.
Prior to the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in 247 BCE, the cultural environment was
characterised by a mix of indigenous (veddha) and Aryan beliefs, influenced by elements of
mainland Indian culture (Perera 2013). It was the Indian Emperor Asoka who sent his son,
Mahinda, to introduce Buddhism to the Sri Lankan king (Robinson, Johnson Bhikku 2005, p.

People With A Personality Disorder
Psychopaths are people with a personality disorder and this condition may be confused with
antisocialism. According to the article What Is a Psychopath? The term psychopath was first
applied to these people around 1900. The term was changed to sociopath in the 1930s to
emphasize the damage they do to society. Currently researchers have returned to using the term
psychopath. There are several characteristics that tell whether a person is a psychopath or not.
Not caring for others is one of them; the person does not feel emotions for others. Similarly, they
tend to show a lack of emotion, such as guilt, shame and fear. Also, it is very notable their
insincere speech, and that is very close to lying. Moreover, they are overconfident and selfish.
Although they are so focused on themselves they tend to fail in any plan in their lives. Violence
is what have me worrying about them since they can become serial killers. In my opinion,
psychopaths are not useful in society due to the fact that they do not feel anything for anybody.
People do not know when they are planning something awful such as robbing a bank, assaulting
people or killing someone. On the other hand, they can be the best lawyers as they are smarts and
great liars. Therefore, if they lie in front of a judge their facial features would not change. On one
hand, psychopaths could be a problem for society. The lack of feelings is the main reason I think
they could not be useful. A psychopath surgeon is definitely

Electrical synapses work faster than chemical synapses with almost no time delay involved. This
is because in electrical synapses, the synaptic cleft is only between 2 and 4 nanometres as
compared to the 20 to 40 nanometre cleft in a chemical synapse. Also the presynaptic and
postsynaptic membranes of the electrical synapses have larger channels fixed in them allowing
ions to travel directly from one cell to the other without having to pass through the synaptic cleft,
and the electrical current can travel between presynaptic and postsynaptic membranes with
practically no time delay. This is opposed to the delay of around a millisecond caused by passage
through the synaptic cleft in a chemical synapse, which although is very quick, for neurons is
relatively slow. (Rosenzweig, M, R. Breedlove, S, M. Watson, N, V. 2005)
In order for information to be transmitted from the presynaptic neuron to the postsynaptic cell, a
series of events needs to take place. This begins when a nerve impulse i.e the result of an action
potential reaches the presynaptic axon terminal or synaptic knob. This results in the synaptic knob
becoming depolarized, that is, more negatively charged thus activating the voltage gated calcium
channels into opening. Positively

Essay On Mao s Last Dancer
The autobiography, Mao s Last Dancer written by Li Cunxin, is effective in raising awareness of
the injustice the Chinese people experienced during Chairman Mao s Cultural Revolution and
later communist policies in China. When Li s parents got married in 1946, they were not living
in poverty. However, when the Japanese invaded China during WWII and forced all the civilians
into communes, Mao then kept these communes and the Li family lost their wealth they faced
injustice and marginalisation. The Chinese population were marginalised by Mao s use of
communist principles and propaganda. They were forced into believing Mao s views that the West
(Capitalist countries) were filthy and bad, while China was good. Li s visit to America was an eye

Enron In The 1990s
Enron was a business conglomerate during the 1990s, formed by the merger of smaller oil and
energy companies. Houston executives Kenneth Lay (Chairman), Jeffrey Skilling (chief executive
officer (CEO) and Andrew Fastow (chief financial officer (CFO) parlayed their new mega
company into a favorite Wall Street company, bragging of record profits with negligible losses.
During the 1990s, the three senior executives changed Enronfrom a traditional gas and electricity
company into a $150 billion energy corporation. For instance, from 1998 to 2000 only, Enron s
returns rose from approximately $31 billion to over $100 billion, making the company to be the
seventh biggest conglomerate of the Fortune 500. Unidentified to nearly everybody, this picture
was the result of one of the largest swindles in financial history (Ferrell, Fraedrich Ferrell, 2013).
One of the key issues presented in the case was the shell game. Not every person knows this, but
prices of stock are based on how flourishing a company appears, not the amount of money it has in
the bank. Enron s top executives, helped by appropriate deregulation of the power utility industry,
spin this dodge into a gold mine. They apparently posted profits founded on how much a particular
business enterprise could generate, not how much it was essentially worth, and covered losses
through offshore shell companies. The company s accounting firm, Arthur Andersen LLP, was
mature and well esteemed; not even a single person supposed

A Study On Female Entrepreneurs
Chapter 1 Introduction
The main aim of this study is to explore how female entrepreneurs have managed to open new
ventures and also coping with the entrepreneurial system in the UK. Initially, women want to be
part of the entrepreneurship activities and studies shows that the rate of women entrepreneurs is
increasing (Brush et al, 2006). Gender discrimination is no longer a taboo in this twentieth century
(Butler, 2003).
1.1Research background
In today s business world, entrepreneurship is fundamental for the whole society and businesses
(Blundel and Lockett, 2011). There is a considerable interest in entrepreneurial activity worldwide
including the United Kingdom. Between 2010 and the start of 2015, UK experienced up to 36%
increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was 19% higher than the same period in 2008, compared with growth of only 4% in the
number of self employed men (Kelley, 2012) However, this is due to women achieving in
education extraordinarily over the last few decades. Women constantly overtake men in terms of
college enrolment and receive 50% more master s degrees than men do. Among the youngest
workers, those eighteen to thirty two, female are now far more likely to obtain a bachelor s
degrees than male (Robb et al, 2014).
1.3Economic growth
The Global Entrepreneurship (GEM), 2011 reports a significant increase in the number of
entrepreneurship in 54 countries, creating positive expectations and development for the future.
Therefore, it is a must to make additional research as the scope and involvement of Female
Entrepreneurship as a societal and economical phenomenon is certain. Women entrepreneurship is
as important for the economy of the country in addition to innovation economic growth, job
creation and renewal through diversity (Ahl, 2006) However, in the UK, an additional 150,000
businesses would be created if rates of women s business ownership equalled those of men and an
additional 900,000 if UK rates equaled those in the US (Verheul et al, 2006).

Heritage parks aim is to expand the business and their objectives are to fill up all their business
and room spaces, increase the awareness of the existence of the hotel and to increase the
wedding trade as well as other special occasions. The achievement of these aims and objectives
may be supported by the online presence because tourists and companies on business trips may be
looking for a hotel in the area that specialises in various activities. Since the hotel has a wide range
of amenities they can cover the majority of their customers interests and for business meetings the
hotel has rooms especially designed for the purpose.
The online presence of the hotel means that the customers can actually see pictures of the hotel,
leisure centre, bedrooms, restaurant and business rooms giving the customer an idea from where
they are sat rather than having to visit the hotel first. Online booking is effective as it is a much
quicker way of bringing money into the business. Customer feedback and guest books will give
new customers a brief view on what previous customers have thought of the hotel and whether it is
a good hotel or not.

THAT WAS AMAZING, tend to be my usual reactions. But as I left the theater after watching
Spotlight, my response was different. I couldn t shake the overwhelming thought that this movie

Importance remained my number one takeaway from the movie though, and I soon learned its true
importance. Director/writer Thomas McCarthy and writer Josh Singer piece together the complex

And this is also the most undervalued aspect in all educational organizations. But the impact of
the intangible skills of an individual is far more than the impact of the tangible ones. And this can
be seen from many successful people like Abraham Lincoln (Lawyer, U.S. president, finished one

Football Vs Basketball Research Paper
Both football and basketball are highly populated sports in the United States of America, however,
they have vast amounts differences in the style of play. There can be lots of comparing and
contrasting the two sporting events based on the history, how they are played, who plays them, and
any other similarities and differences about the two sports.
The history of basketball began in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts by James Naismith, a
Canadian physical education instructor. Reason being is the fact basketball is a less injury prone
sport compared to football. The history of football started in the mid 18th century in Britain by
the Father of Football, Walter Camp. As time passed by, these sports became a thing at the
collegiate level, then followed by a professional level. Basketball proceeded from college to the ...

Essay on Flat Tax
Flat Tax1
Current Tax System
The current income tax system is very complex. It is so complex; that the IRS publishes 480 tax
forms then they publish another 280 forms that explains the 480 forms. The IRS sends out eight
billion pages of forms and instructions each year, which, if laid end to end, would circle the earth
28 times. Nearly 300,000 trees are cut down each year to produce the paper on which IRS forms
and instructions are printed (Armey, Shelby). The main reasonthe tax code is so complex is the
proliferation of deductions, credits and other special preferences in the tax law. Taxpayers with
similar incomes can pay vastly different amounts in taxes because of these loopholes. This uneven

This plan eliminates all deductions and credits and there are no loopholes. It is just a simple tax
system that would supposedly treat everyone equally.
What Is a Flat Tax
The Armey Shelby flat tax plan, the Freedom and Fairness Restoration Act, scraps the entire tax
code and replaces it with a flat rate income tax that treats every taxpayer equally. The plan would
clarify the tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax
system (The Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals.
1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. Today s
complex system could be replaced by two simple, postcard size forms, one for business and one
for individuals. 2. Tax all income at one rate, applying the law equally to all taxpayers. Everyone
faces the same 17 percent rate, and the government would not punish or subsidize taxpayers on the
basis of how they earn or spend income. 3. Tax all income just once, ending the bias against
savings and investment. Capital income would be taxed on the business form to ensure compliance,
and labor income would be taxed on the individual form (Beach, Mitchell).
The Armey Shelby flat tax proposition follows each of these principles. For individuals, only the
income from wages, salaries, and pensions are taxed, then generous personal and dependent
exemptions are deducted. What is left after these deductions is

Act 3 Scene 3 as the Turning Point of the Play Othello by William Shakespeare
Shakespeare wrote Othello in 1602. During Elizabethan times there were very few black people in
England. The white people felt scared about the black people because they didn t understand them.
The play explores racism and mixed race relationships.
Shakespeare apparently felt free to handle Giraldi s story with perfect freedom. He transformed a
straggling narrative of sordid crime into compact drama and high tragedy. The masterly first act is
essentially Shakespeare s invention. In this act, Othello, who has eloped with Desdemona, is

Clenching teeth, defined facial bone structure and fine dentistry; the title of Steven Spielberg s
classic film Jaws paints quite a mental picture for its viewers with many possibilities. Along with
the title, the original film poster used to promote Jaws was visually colorful and terrifying all at the
same time. The poster indicates an oversized great white sharklurking in the dark depths of the sea,
looking up towards the surface at a swimmer. Waiting and watching, the imagery of the poster gives
the viewer the feeling that the shark is waiting for just the right moment to attack with its powerful
bone crushing jaws. What makes this film so interesting and captivating is that for over half of
Spielberg s film the protagonist, the shark, is nowhere to be seen. The way Steven Spielberg
incorporates and mixes powerful and suspenseful music with his brilliant editing of the film, as
well as the composition, allows viewers to believe there is an actual shark, even though the
shark is out of sight. Steven Spielberg s film Jaws was influenced and inspired by the fictional
novel Jaws written by Peter Benchley. With a few changes to better the cinematography, the film
portrayed the novel and followed its outline very closely. Jaws the film had become America s

instilled fear into the lives of many of its viewers. Benchley has stated that Spielberg had tapped a

Holden Caulfield And Its Effects On Society
After a heated argument, rough day, or traumatizing event, many of us say we would rather be
left alone. When something negative happens to any of us we tend to isolate ourselves, leaving
ourselves to our thoughts for a while before blending back into society. This isolation is good for
a while, it allows us to clear our heads and think things through before going back into a normal
routine. Prolonged isolation however, has been proven to be potentially dangerous. Holden
Caulfield isolates himself from the phoniness of the world, thinking highly of himself and
somehow believes he is different from everyone else he s ever met. Holden s way of putting
himself on a pedestal harms his social prowess, and isolates him to the point of loneliness. He
longs for social contact and in many situations makes a strong effort in order to get to know
somebody. After 5 minutes of conversation however, Holden proves to us his social impairment.
Holden Caulfield is an example of a person who does not fit into normal social interactions, yet
some of his personality exists in all of us.

The First Three Phases Of The War, The Bohemian Phase (...
The thirty years war was an important conflict in the Holy Roman Empire that started in 1618 and
ended in 1648. It was fought between the German states and the Emperor; it was fought between
Catholics and Protestants, and it was also fought between outside nations against each other. The
thirty years war started with religious rivalries between Catholics and Protestants with some
political ambitions, but eventually developed mainly into a war of dynastic ambitions with many
groups attempting to gain political power over their opponents. The first three phases of the war,
the Bohemian phase (1618 1625), the Danish phase (1625 1629), and the Swedish Phase (1630
1635) were mainly fought over religious reasons with Catholics on one side and Protestants on the
other. Lutheranism was accepted in the Holy Roman Empiresince the Peace of Augsburg in 1555,
but Calvinism wasn t. However, many states still turned Calvinist, including the Palatinate whose
ruler was one of the seven people that elected the Holy Roman Emperor. In 1608, led by the
Palatinate, the protestant groups formed a protestant union. The Protestant states wanted to gain
more rights and weaken the empire by remaining independent. In response, some Catholic states
formed the Catholic union in 1609 led by Bavaria. The Austrian Habsburgs wanted to completely
eradicate Protestantism that was threatening the stability of their Empire. The tension between
these two sides was what caused war to break out when the

English, not art. Do you have Iero? Mr Way, the art teacher, asked the English teacher, Mr
Brown. Frank s eyes widened, not expecting that. Frank s in here. Mr Brown said, all heads
turning to him. Frank blushed. Mr Way looked at Frank for a little while and nodded his head to
the door. Come with me. Frank nodded, scrambling to his feet and following the tall teacher.
Seriously, Frank was really short. He looked up at Mr Way, feeling a bit anxious. The thing was,
was that Mr Way fucking scared Frank. He wasn t intimidating in any way, and always joked
around with the kids, but Frank was just terrified at the mere thought of talking to him. Mr Way
s voice snapped Frank back to reality. Do you know what class Toro and Ballato are in right
now? Uh, Ray s in literature, I think? And Lindsey s in chemistry... Frank said, trailing off. Mr
Way nodded, looking at Frank. Don t be so nervous, now. You re not in trouble. Frank wanted to
say, that s not the reason I m nervous, but decided to instead laugh a bit and nod. Follow me. Mr
Way said, beckoning Frank with his hand. They made it to literature and chemistry, gathering the
three kids and the art teacher in the middle of the hallway outside of Mr Brown s room. Alright.
You aren t in trouble, Mr Way eyed Frank, then, quickly averting his gaze to the other two students,
continued talking. you three

Causes And Effects Of Animal Cruelty In Australia
Animal cruelty is a rapidly growing nationwide problem. Animals are being hurt and starved
everyday. Acts of violence towards animals, animal neglect and even psychological harm are
forms of animal cruelty. If you check the webpage of RSPCA Australia (Royal Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), you will find a list of actions and conditions that can be
qualified as cruelty to animals. The list includes such points as torturing or beating an animal;
failing to provide it with food and appropriate treatment in case of disease or injury; killing an
animal in an inhumane manner; failing to provide appropriate transportation conditions, and so on.
According to statistics, animals who suffer from cruelty most often are dogs (64.5%) and cats
(18%). 25% are for other animals, such as horses (The Humane Society). Supposedly, it means
domestic pets are the most vulnerable category to suffer from cruelty; also, it might mean cruelty
towards animals is a result of pet owners demonstrating their anger, frustration, or stress on the
closest and most defenseless creatures. Greyhound racing, puppy farms and animal testingare three
major examples of animal cruelty. Thousands of animals are being mistreated in Australia
Legal commercial greyhound racing is formally regulated in Australia. Greyhound racing, which is
an example of animal cruelty, is a competitive sport in which greyhound dogs are raced around a
track. Australia is one of one eight countries where greyhound

The Milton Friedman Rule
OTHER SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT OR CONTRIBUTION IN ECONOMICS FIELD
Other significant contribution or achievement of Milton Friedman in economy field is in
economics scholarly. He had introduced a few of rule, function and hypothesis such as Friedman
Rule, Friedman s K percent Rule, saving utility function and permanent income hypothesis.
Friedman Rule
Friedman Rule was proposed by Milton Friedman in 1969. This rule is about monetary policy.
Money is anything that generally accepted as payment for goods and service, but it is costless to
provide. So, money is valuable for consumers and businesses (Rognlie,2011).
Friedman rule suggests setting the nominal interest rate at zero. This is due to the logic of
opportunity cost of holding money by private sector which is nominal interest rate should equal to
the social marginal cost which is creating additional fiat of money. This means marginal cost of
producing additional fiat of money is zero. Thus, nominal interest rate practically is zero.
Well, the real interest rate always is positive and this means we have a long term deflation. This
also implies that central bank should make the rate of deflation same to rate of real interest. As the
rate of deflation equal to the real rate of interest, people who hold the money would not loss in
value of money when inflation happened.
Friedman s K percent Rule
Friedman s k percent rule is proposed by Milton Friedman after Friedman s rule. This rule is the
way to control long term

The Ischemic Stroke
First I feel that, it is important to understand the clinical manifestation of the different strokes. The
Ischemic stroke can cause a wide range of neurologic symptoms depending on the location and the
size of the effective area. Patients may present with symptoms, such as, numbness or weakness of
the face, arms, legs, more so, one side of the body, changes in moody or behavior, trouble with
speaking or understanding speech, visual disturbances, having difficulty in walking, dizziness or
loss of balance and sudden server headaches. Hemorrhagic strokehas, also, presents with the same
clinical manifestation as a Ischemic stroke, however, most patients complain of server headache.

Malcolm Knowles Andragogy
Executive Summary:
This paper is a research on Malcolm Knowles topic andragogy . Knowles describes andragogy as
the art and science of adult learning. Andragogy focuses on special needs od adults learners, he
classifies these need into six different categories: (1) need to know, (2) self concept, (3) prior
experience, (4) readiness to learn, (5) learning orientation, and (6) motivation to learn.
Adults have special needs as learners and these needs should be taken into consideration when
planning training for adults. When adults participate in a positive learning experience that follows
the six assumptions of andragogy presented in this paper, they are more likely to retain what they
have learned and apply it in their work environment.
Qantas
Introduction:
As a HR graduate, through research and examination it was found that Knowles Andragogy is the
best way for adults to learn. Every group contains a configuration of idiosyncratic personalities,
differing past experiences, current orientations, levels of readiness for learning, and individual
learning styles. Thus trainers should be wary of prescribing any standardized approach to
facilitating learning (Brookfield 1986). Understanding the six assumptions in andragogy prepares
facilitators to create successful training. Qantas What is Andragogy?
Malcolm Shepherd Knowles (1913 1997) was an American educator well known for the use of the
term Andragogy as synonymous to the adult education.

I Flew Up America
Justice and independence has been one of the sole virtues that are held within the United States of
America; values that present the ideal ethics placed on all citizens within the nation. This American
image of freedom and liberty holds the function to unite all persons, yet such an image is not
consistent with the accurate reality within America s society. These purported ideals cloak the
visible struggles of color that are stored within the nation; social strifes that have endured from
America s past to the present. People of color, especially African Americans, display a form of
unification while exposes the corruption within the nation s government. Likewise, it can be the

A race can be unified or connected by the agonizing roots of their heritage, filled with a combination
of exploitation and maltreatment. African Americans especially have used their past struggles of
their heritage to connect with each other, for their ancestors have all faced similar to equal
predicaments. Continuously for generations, African Americans have experienced racial oppression
and that has stimulated the motivation to alter the rights and treatment of African Americans.
Throughout his speech, Malcolm X mentions that he does not call himself American, but one of the
22 million black people who are the victims of Americanism (Little 2). He continues degrading the
American government and politics, seeing that a black person s involvement in politics are muffled

Wiccans Goddess
Although some Wiccans focus on particular gods from particular world mythologies, Wiccans
may worship many gods and goddesses by many different names. Most worship some form of the
Great Goddess and Her consort, The Horned God. Such duo theistic forces are often conceived as
embodying complementary polarities, not in opposition. In some traditions worship of the Goddess
is emphasized, although in others the Goddess and Godare seen as complementary co equals. The
Goddess and God may be seen as associated with certain things (such as the Goddess with the earth
or moon, God with sun and wildlife, etc.), but there are no hard and fast rules. Some traditions
worship the Goddess alone while others see Divinity as essentially beyond human understanding,...

Some Wiccans conceive deities as similar to thought forms.
According to current Gardnerian Wiccans, the exact names of the Goddess and God of traditional
Wicca remain an initiatory secret, and they are not given in Gardner s books about witchcraft.
However, the collection of Toronto Papers of Gardner s writings has been investigated by
American scholars such as Aidan Kelly, leading to the suggestion that their names are Cernunnos
and Aradia. These are the names used in the prototype Book of Shadows known as Ye Bok of Ye
Arte Magickal.
For most Wiccans, the Lord and Lady are seen as complementary polarities: male and female,
force and form, comprehending all in their union; the tension and interplay between them is the
basis of all creation, and this balance is seen in much of nature. The God and Goddess are
sometimes symbolized as the Sun and Moon, and from her lunar associations the Goddess
becomes a Triple Goddess with aspects of Maiden , Mother and Crone corresponding to the Moon s
waxing, full and waning

system are smart class, conferencing, etc. Due to this type of applications, institute may fulfil
vision and accomplish their goals. The idea of our project is to implement android based
application for Attendance Management System for colleges, schools, institutes. The project
will be an application like online attendance record and parent intimation in android. It would
help student to check their attendance report online through android phone and would also help
faculties to take attendance in smartphone rather than registers and also store the records in the
database. When student attendance gets low below the specified attendance a threshold will be

How Did Diana Change The World
Many of her charities came together and opened a Centre in India in her honor. After her death,

purpose of establishing the Centre was to promote Leprosy victims rights in India. After her
death, the charities she worked closely with, grieved for the loss of their global spokeswoman

drive and desire Diana did to save the world. A young patient once described Diana as, the friend
who always left us smiling (Wood 31). Her sons, William and Harry, do a lot to follow in their
mother s footsteps and they instill good through the sick and needy every day. Even William s
wife, Catherine Middleton, feels the pressures of the media and everyone that was close to
Diana. Catherine feels the need to fulfill her shoes because she sees her mother in law as a great
person who should still needs to be honored every day. Diana lived a very glamorous lifestyle,
meeting new and exciting people everywhere she went. She had the chance to become very good
friends with Mother Teresa and Elton John. She also g had the pleasure of meeting President
Ronald Regan and the First Lady of the United States of America. Diana also had the honor of
dancing with John Travolta at the White House. He describes his experience as, For fifteen
minutes, she made me feel like a prince. It was absolutely magical (Wood 28). Her legacy lives on
through her family and the people that knew her well. Many organizations, buildings and people
have been named after her such as, her granddaughter Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of

Diponkar Paul and Sobuj Kumar Ray, Member, IACSIT
Abstract Voting is most pivotal process of democratic society through which people determine it s
government. Governments around the world are increasingly considering the replacement of
traditional paper based voting schemes with electronic voting systems. Elections of Bangladesh are
conducted most exclusively using electronic voting machines developed over the past three years.

Among the reasons for concern, critics include vague and incomplete security guidelines,
insufficient documentation requirements, and inadequate descriptions of the configuration of
commercial software. An electronic voting machine has been designed by a microcontroller for
which the code is written in assembly language. Various code protection schemes specified by the
manufacturer of the microcontroller are used to prevent inadvertent or deliberate reading and
reproduction of the code contained in the microcontroller. The election data contained in the
EEPROM of the microcontroller can download into a central computer for tabulations. The security
of data in this computer is enforced by generating digital signatures for each data file created. This
process makes it impossible for anyone to substitute wrong or deliberately altered data files at any
intermediate stage between the capturing of voter s intent by the machine and the final results
tabulations. Prior to the election, all configuration data is set up on the counting server. The
configuration is then transferred to the ballot box server. Configuration data include: candidate
names, polling station identity, and a list of barcodes. During the voting period, voters are
authenticated as per the traditional paper based voting, and asked whether they wish to vote
electronically or use the traditional paper based method. A voter

One in 1919 the allies created the League of Nations. It had a simple raison d etre , that was to
prevent war. Its chief architect was President Woodrow Wilson of USA. However, upon its
creation the United States did not join. Throughout its years the league faced many problems and
struggled, however it managed to stay together for 20 years. During its existence some of the
main problems were the world wide economic depression and the desire of some countries to
expand or create their empires. There were four main powers, Great Britain, France, Italy and

actions to the Council and could vote on: В· Admitting new members to the league. В·
Appointing temporary members of the council В· The budget of the league В· Other ideas put

Japan Western Influence
Japan s isolation policy during the seventeenth century up until the nineteenth century left its people
and government to simply rely on the influence of the Chinese, Koreans and the Dutch. The only
exposure Japan attained during the Tokugawa Shogunate from Western influences came from
Dutch missionaries as artists such as Maruyama Okyo. Eighteenth century Japanese art saw its fist
integration of Western style as observational art pieces became prominent. Coming along with
observational, the naturalistic approach became noticeably apparent when looking at Japanese
prints. Furthermore, as some Japanese scholars managed to get a hand of oil paints and engraving
techniques, mild Western influences were able to shape Japanese ukiyo eart. Ukiyo e¬ art was the

Nonetheless, Japan saw an emergence of the ukiyo e woodblock printing style once again during
the twentieth century as shin hanga art. Shin Hanga art or new prints corresponded with the
demands of Western technologies and style that emerged during the rapid modernization. While,
shin hanga prints did emerge during the early twentieth century as a new type of Japanese art,
shin hanga maintained ukiyo e principles like the study of focus. Shin hanga artists such as
Yoshida Hiroshi, Kawase Hasui, and Itou Shinsui closely compare to the ukiyo e focus on beauty
and nature. Furthermore, both ukiyo e and shin hanga prints were able to capture the essence of
the time period both movements were active. While ukiyo e captures the traditional yet lonely

Looking Back at the OJ Simpson Case
The numerous ups, downs, and controversies surrounding the life of former star football player

individual recollections. The story of OJ Simpson s life is both sad and puzzling after
overcoming adversity to become one of the best football players of all time and a public figure
beloved by many Simpson would go on to put himself in a worse situation than ever before.

Dehydration Effects
Dehydration Effects
Dehydration is the excessive loss of water resulting in depletion of body fluids (Grosvenor amp;
Smolin, 2006, p. 282). When the body goes through dehydration there can be many symptoms.
Some of these symptoms can include: feelings of nausea, light headedness, and feeling dizzy.
Dehydration can cause symptoms to show more rapidly than any other vitamin deficiency. With
other vitamin deficiencies, days or weeks can pass before symptoms are felt by the body
(Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006). Symptoms can be seen when dehydrated after only an hour of
activity on a hot day. Water is essential to health maintenance because the human body is more than
half water. The typical adult s body weight is about 60% water.... Show more content on

The minor symptoms of dehydration will go away quickly after replacing the lost water but if left
untreated medical attention may be necessary. While it may be difficult to consume too much
water, overhydrating can be as dangerous as dehydrating. Water toxicity can be the result of
consuming too much water. Some of the early symptoms of water toxicity can be similar to
dehydration. Nausea, muscle cramps, disorientation, and confusion are just some of the symptoms
of water toxicity. To help prevent water toxicity it is recommended that beverages containing dilute
solutions of sodium as well as sugar, such as sports beverages, be used to replace water losses
when exercise continues for more than an hour (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 287).
Electrolytes are important because they help maintain acid base in the body. Electrolytes are
substances that separate in water to form positively and negatively charged ions that conduct an
electrical current (Grosvenor amp; Smolin, 2006, p. 287). The three key electrolytes in the body are
sodium, potassium, and chloride. It is important to control the amount of sodium excreted from the
body because sodium helps to regulate blood pressure. If the body loses more sodium than it takes
in blood pressure can drop. When this happens the body will release proteins and hormones to help
the kidneys retain water and sodium. Renin is an enzyme that

Results Across the research, there have been commonalities and similarities. Most of the authors
agree that the best present treatment for celiac disease (CD) is a gluten free diet (GFD). A cross
sectional age matched study done on 18 Italian children, aged four to 10 years, demonstrated that
there were statistical differences in eating habits and frequency of eating among CD children and a
control group. These dietary intakes were measured using the semi quantitative Block Food

possible need and/or preference for novel therapies, with the possibility to express more than one
option as well as their willingness to enroll their children in ad hoc clinical trials (Norsa et al.,
2015, p. 591). A limitation of the survey is that the parents of CD patients were questioned rather
than the patients themselves, which leaves room for inaccuracies due to perception. With that
being said, a strength is that the survey is designed for celiac children and adolescents, who are
the most problematic groups and the population with the highest probability of access to an
alternative therapy (Norsa et al., 2015, p.593). A study conducted by Sharp, Walker, and Coppell
(2014) examined the results of the New Zealand Coeliac Health Survey, a self administered cross
sectional survey of biopsy positive respondents aged 16 years and over (n=936) (p. 223). The
results indicated that patients expressed an assortment of symptoms prior to being diagnosed.
Patients expressed relief from some symptoms when adhering to a strict GFD, but continued to
suffer from others. 12.6% (n=118) attributed their symptoms to other food allergies and 26.0%
(n=243) to hidden sources of gluten (Sharp et al., 2014, p. 224). Patients also had trouble with

  • 2. Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s... Analysis of Frankenstein From Shelley s Novel to Branagh s Film Branagh s adaptation of Mary Shelly s novel was fairly good with significant changes to Shelly s text; however this was done to illuminate what he considers to be the major themes of the novel, eg the dangers of the relentless pursuit of science and Victor s relationships. Victors love interest with Elizabeth in the film is much more intense compared to what is described in the novel as communication is mostly through letters, whereas in the film Branagh has Elizabeth follow him left, right and centre, she even comes to his sick bed after the creation. This however is for the interest of the audience as many people enjoy love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As in Shelley s novel victors reaction is the beauty of the dream vanished and disgust filled my heart , but Branaghs film attempts to address why he abandons the monster and also how close Victor was to his family. This makes it even more triadic to bare witness to their deaths, especially when the distraught Elizabeth is seen carrying Williams s lifeless body, the thunderstorm also sets the scene and makes the audience feel hatred for the monster and despair for Victor and his family. Branagh showed the misery of the monster, especially when it was rejected by the De Lacy family but I think Branagh was very much one sided on where our sympathies should lie and this was clearly directed towards Victor, this maybe because Branagh is the director as well as Victor. I think Branagh should have portrayed one aspect of the book in more detail and that is the eloquence of the creature. Having Clerval stay alive also seems to serve a purpose, this meant they Victors conscience was there to observe what he did to Elizabeth. Also having Justine killed in that manner made it seem more painful for Victor as he did not even have a court case as an attempt to save her innocent life. I think Helena Carter made a good Elizabeth as she portrayed the characters beauty; however she was a bit boisterous for that particular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Twilight Sag Teenage, Vampire, Romance Twilight Saga: Teenage, Vampire, Romance The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer created a massive fan following that grew into a supernatural franchise. The story of Bella and Edward was in the hands of countless teenagers and adults alike, captivating audiences with the classic story of young love, but with a vampire twist. The books were published starting when I was a young teenager, and I was not immune to the charms of a sparkly vampire fighting his desire for lovefor the sake of her safety. I religious read all four books, a few times, until the hard covers cracked at the edges, and the open books fell open to my favorite parts from being opened for so long. After the books created a sensation, a movie series was created. In a non surprising fashion, the movies were popular, but as any book lover will tell you about any movie made after a book, the book was better, way better. Reading the story at the time, I ignored critics of the book, swearing by its love story and defending the text as it stood in my world. Re reading this book as an adult who has continued to read, I came to the realizations that my tastes have evolved over time. I still enjoyed the story during my re read this past time, but the writing was not as striking; gone was the passion and addiction so deep I could not set the books down. The first time I read Breaking Dawn, I read it straight it twelve hours not stopping for anything. I read from 7pm until 7am, this month reading Twilight, was nowhere ... I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou is an autobiography with a fictional aspect that depicts the life of Maya herself from the time she was eight to sixteen. The in depth stories reveal the struggle and hardships she faced growing up. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is a true account of the murders of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansason November 15, 1959. The book gives a more thorough look at the details of the family and the killers, the book is written to take the events and elevate them into a story, enabling the event to transcend their specific historical moment. Capoteassembles the facts and perspectives about the Clutter murder into a narrative, creating that feeling of a fiction book. Maya Angelou s book reads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It fell flat on the big vat of lard and by noontime in the summer the grease had softened to a thick soup. (pg. 16) The theme in the book was growing up black in the south, and the racism that came with it. The development of the theme is what categorizes the book as a fiction. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings starts out discussing the family and the problems within the family, and as the book progresses it begins to unravel the deeper theme of racism. However, the theme also incorporates the chronological element of the plot and stories into a sequence of life events that make the narrator, Angelou, the person she is. The first person narration is witnessed all throughout the book, every page is told in her perspective and the readers learn more about her than the other characters. Provided, that factor is what gives the book its autobiographical component. Since all of these conventions of fiction are so prominent the book is considered an autobiographical fiction, but mainly read as if were just fiction. In Cold Blood was written as an account of the murder of a family and to convey the truth behind the fictional facet of the book, Capote uses the convention of point of view by narrating the story from 3 different perspectives: the Clutters, Dick Hickock and Perry Smith, and a neutral third person. The alternating perspectives enable the readers to understand both sides of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Need A. Voting allows people to voice out their opinions and beliefs regardless of background. Voting gives the population an equal opportunity completely blind of sex, race, origin, education in contributing to community development (Akande, 2011). B. Voting allows people to decide for their own futures. If people do not vote, it would lead the country to a very vulnerable and perilous position due to incompetent and irresponsible leaders. Not voting during an election is voting indirectly against democracy and making way for irresponsible leaders (Akande, 2011). C. Voting preserves the essence of democracy. Voting is the foremost way to exhibit good citizenship and civil responsibility. People should get involved in elections and educated in all political measures. By this they become good and responsible participatory citizens. It should always be remembered that some people sacrifice their lives to preserve the freedom and voting opportunity as a sacred right. • 14. Frame Narrative In Beowulf Early English literature proceeds from orally transmitted storytelling, relying on the construction of an epic past to develop a sense of patriotism within the country. As written culture becomes more prevalent, however, this genre s timeless attribute diminishes due an increase in recorded history which gradually turns literature s focus from mystical origins to a concrete present. Frame narrative, or stories within a story, exist prevalently within the epic genre, but persist throughout this transition, generally preserving structure, but mutating in function. Although early literature forms like the epic employ frame narratives to convey their grandiose style, the transition from historical epics to satirical poetry aligns with frame narrative s transition as an element of style to one of theme. In British oral tradition, storytellingmainly serves to instill patriotic zeal within citizens. The advent of literacy results in the transcription of these stories, which predominantly take the form of the epic: an origin story in which an epic hero displays heroic acts in a setting with few temporal cues, disconnecting the story from any specific point in history. Beowulf, one such epic, exhibits these properties, with events transpiring without indication of the relative passage of time. One literary device which lends itself to the manifestation of this quality, the frame narrative, muddles the reader s perspective of time by constantly by jumping between events in the main ... • 17. The Economic Differences Between The Upper And Lower Class All through history, the lower class has repeatedly been placed at a disadvantage. This group has been suppressed to their superior counterparts since the beginning of time. Society may try to ignore the gap, but it is dangerously prominent and constantly growing. The economical difference is only one part of many in the differences of the rich and the poor. Hence the fact that they are tremendously different in most aspects and this keeps the divide at large. It is also vastly difficult to move up the class because the wealthy want to remain as prosperous as they can. Even though it is not always obvious, the upper and lower classes are differentiated by their opportunities throughout life, their education, and their social status. The upper class of today is categorized as the part of society that has a surplus of money. This surplus means the wealthy do not have to worry about income and tend to separate themselves from those that do have this worry. Those that do have to worry about their weekly income are a part of the middle class. These citizens are at the bottom of society and have the lowest quality of life. These two groups are the polar ends of this world s society and contain the most diverse lifestyles in many aspects. Unfortunately, all the inferior qualities fall with the lower division of human culture. Expanding on this, one major difference between the upper and lower class is that of education. In the majority of lower class families, a strong education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some scholars separate Buddhist schools into geographical groupings, such as Southern, Eastern and Northern traditions, whereas some prefer to focus on a more tradition specific delineation, such as Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana Buddhism(Cousins 1998, p. 370; Buddhism 2015 ). All traditions accept the fundamental Buddhist doctines of Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, anatta (absence of soul) and karma (causation), but differ on other significant aspects. This essay will compare and contrast two Buddhist traditions, the Therevada Buddhism of Sri Lanka, and Mahayana Buddhism of China. Theravada Buddhism can also be characterised as representative of the Southern tradition of Buddhism, whereas Mahayana is of the Eastern tradition. This essay will also address how these particular types of Buddhism developed in their respective countries. Prior to the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in 247 BCE, the cultural environment was characterised by a mix of indigenous (veddha) and Aryan beliefs, influenced by elements of mainland Indian culture (Perera 2013). It was the Indian Emperor Asoka who sent his son, Mahinda, to introduce Buddhism to the Sri Lankan king (Robinson, Johnson Bhikku 2005, p. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term psychopath was first applied to these people around 1900. The term was changed to sociopath in the 1930s to emphasize the damage they do to society. Currently researchers have returned to using the term psychopath. There are several characteristics that tell whether a person is a psychopath or not. Not caring for others is one of them; the person does not feel emotions for others. Similarly, they tend to show a lack of emotion, such as guilt, shame and fear. Also, it is very notable their insincere speech, and that is very close to lying. Moreover, they are overconfident and selfish. Although they are so focused on themselves they tend to fail in any plan in their lives. Violence is what have me worrying about them since they can become serial killers. In my opinion, psychopaths are not useful in society due to the fact that they do not feel anything for anybody. People do not know when they are planning something awful such as robbing a bank, assaulting people or killing someone. On the other hand, they can be the best lawyers as they are smarts and great liars. Therefore, if they lie in front of a judge their facial features would not change. On one hand, psychopaths could be a problem for society. The lack of feelings is the main reason I think they could not be useful. A psychopath surgeon is definitely ... They are the transmitters of chemical and electrical messages that cause us to see, feel, move and much more. Watson, N, V. 2005) Figure 2: http://www.iworx.com/company2/WebToolsCD/Illustrations/synapse /synapse_web2.jpg Electrical synapses work faster than chemical synapses with almost no time delay involved. This is because in electrical synapses, the synaptic cleft is only between 2 and 4 nanometres as compared to the 20 to 40 nanometre cleft in a chemical synapse. Also the presynaptic and postsynaptic membranes of the electrical synapses have larger channels fixed in them allowing ions to travel directly from one cell to the other without having to pass through the synaptic cleft, and the electrical current can travel between presynaptic and postsynaptic membranes with practically no time delay. This is opposed to the delay of around a millisecond caused by passage through the synaptic cleft in a chemical synapse, which although is very quick, for neurons is relatively slow. (Rosenzweig, M, R. Breedlove, S, M. Watson, N, V. 2005) In order for information to be transmitted from the presynaptic neuron to the postsynaptic cell, a series of events needs to take place. This begins when a nerve impulse i.e the result of an action potential reaches the presynaptic axon terminal or synaptic knob. This results in the synaptic knob becoming depolarized, that is, more negatively charged thus activating the voltage gated calcium channels into opening. Positively ... Enron s top executives, helped by appropriate deregulation of the power utility industry, spin this dodge into a gold mine. The plan would clarify the tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax system (The Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals. 1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. • 40. Holden Caulfield And Its Effects On Society After a heated argument, rough day, or traumatizing event, many of us say we would rather be left alone. When something negative happens to any of us we tend to isolate ourselves, leaving ourselves to our thoughts for a while before blending back into society. This isolation is good for a while, it allows us to clear our heads and think things through before going back into a normal routine. Prolonged isolation however, has been proven to be potentially dangerous. Holden Caulfield isolates himself from the phoniness of the world, thinking highly of himself and somehow believes he is different from everyone else he s ever met. Holden s way of putting himself on a pedestal harms his social prowess, and isolates him to the point of loneliness. He longs for social contact and in many situations makes a strong effort in order to get to know somebody. After 5 minutes of conversation however, Holden proves to us his social impairment. Holden Caulfield is an example of a person who does not fit into normal social interactions, yet some of his personality exists in all of us. The thirty years war started with religious rivalries between Catholics and Protestants with some political ambitions, but eventually developed mainly into a war of dynastic ambitions with many groups attempting to gain political power over their opponents. Lutheranism was accepted in the Holy Roman Empiresince the Peace of Augsburg in 1555, but Calvinism wasn t. However, many states still turned Calvinist, including the Palatinate whose ruler was one of the seven people that elected the Holy Roman Emperor. In 1608, led by the Palatinate, the protestant groups formed a protestant union. The Protestant states wanted to gain more rights and weaken the empire by remaining independent. The Milton Friedman Rule OTHER SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT OR CONTRIBUTION IN ECONOMICS FIELD Other significant contribution or achievement of Milton Friedman in economy field is in economics scholarly. He had introduced a few of rule, function and hypothesis such as Friedman Rule, Friedman s K percent Rule, saving utility function and permanent income hypothesis. Friedman Rule Friedman Rule was proposed by Milton Friedman in 1969. This rule is about monetary policy. Money is anything that generally accepted as payment for goods and service, but it is costless to provide. So, money is valuable for consumers and businesses (Rognlie,2011). Friedman rule suggests setting the nominal interest rate at zero. This is due to the logic of opportunity cost of holding money by private sector which is nominal interest rate should equal to the social marginal cost which is creating additional fiat of money. This means marginal cost of producing additional fiat of money is zero. Thus, nominal interest rate practically is zero. Well, the real interest rate always is positive and this means we have a long term deflation. This also implies that central bank should make the rate of deflation same to rate of real interest. As the rate of deflation equal to the real rate of interest, people who hold the money would not loss in value of money when inflation happened. • 47. Malcolm Knowles Andragogy Executive Summary: This paper is a research on Malcolm Knowles topic andragogy . Knowles describes andragogy as the art and science of adult learning. Andragogy focuses on special needs od adults learners, he classifies these need into six different categories: (1) need to know, (2) self concept, (3) prior experience, (4) readiness to learn, (5) learning orientation, and (6) motivation to learn. Adults have special needs as learners and these needs should be taken into consideration when planning training for adults. When adults participate in a positive learning experience that follows the six assumptions of andragogy presented in this paper, they are more likely to retain what they have learned and apply it in their work environment. Qantas Introduction: As a HR graduate, through research and examination it was found that Knowles Andragogy is the best way for adults to learn. Every group contains a configuration of idiosyncratic personalities, differing past experiences, current orientations, levels of readiness for learning, and individual learning styles. Thus trainers should be wary of prescribing any standardized approach to facilitating learning (Brookfield 1986). Understanding the six assumptions in andragogy prepares facilitators to create successful training. Qantas What is Andragogy?
