Trickster-God-Creator
Tricksters appear in the mythology and folklore of many cultures around the world. Although the
power and relative divinity of each Trickster varies from tradition to tradition, Tricksters have
important roles in the creation, development, and sometimes destruction, of each culture. The Coyote
of Native North American traditions is often depicted as assisting the Great Mystery or Great Spirit in
the creating and populating of the world (Leeming). In the Greek myths Hermes is initially a sly infant
who captures a tortoise with his untruths and fashions the first lyre from its shell, but eventually
transitions to a place amongst the Olympic pantheon as the messenger of the gods. In the Norse myths
of the Scandinavian countries, Loki is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Coyote is sometimes purely self concerned, such as in the Sioux story of Coyote, Iktome, and the
Rock (Leeming 50 2), providing the subject for cautionary morality tales. He is also often the victim
of his own pride, such as his attempt to stay awake by propping open his eyes in order to be the first to
arrive at Spirit Chief s lodge at dawn and receive a new name. Coyote falls asleep anyway, retains his
name, and creates a permanent slant in his eyes (Dove 17 26). At other times, however, Coyote is
selfless and miraculous. In the tale of Montezuma and Coyote in Canoes, from the Papago tradition of
Arizona, after the Great Mystery has made the earth, and people have been made to populate it, led by
Montezuma, Coyote comes to the great leader of men and instructs the chief to build a canoe.
Montezuma doesn t understand why he would need a canoe, but before long a flood of Biblical
magnitude washes away the land, and only Coyote and Montezuma survive to lead the new people the
Great Mystery creates to repopulate (Leeming 110 11). It would seem easier to allow even the chief to
perish in the flood if Coyote really is purely the self important Trickster so often depicted, but he
seems intuitively to know that Montezuma will be a better leader to teach the people all the things
they would need to know to survive (111). Similarly, in the story of Coyote and the Footrace, Coyote
allows his own son to be killed in order to teach the rituals for burial of the dead

Embargo on Cuba
Embargo on Cuba The U.S. imposed an Embargo on Cuba on Oct. 19, 1960. Has the time come for
the United States to lift the 5 decade embargo? The Embargo on Cuba was a part of America s Cold
War strategy against the Soviet Union, imposed on the basis that Cuba was a threat to the U.S.
National Security because of their alliance with the Soviet Union. Although Cuba would like the U.S
to terminate the embargo against their country, the U.S. wants Cuba to make their situation a better
living environment and to promote human rights for its citizens. The Cuban Embargo, also known as
el bloqueo to Cuban citizens, was declared by the United States in 1960 to eliminate imports of Cuban
goods. When the embargo was first set, it was only to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Raul Castro has gradually implanted major economic reforms and lifted travel restrictions, which will
help the country strengthen its international position. Because of Raul making huge changes for Cuba,
the island has let in allowing Cubans to buy or sell property, expand consumer goods such as, DVD
players, microwaves, cell phones and internet service. These small but large changes for Cuba, that
Raul changed, is making a huge impact on the isolated island. Now, because of Raul s changes, the
U.S. talks with Cuban officials every 6 months to see how everything is playing out (Frank). Many
people in the U.S. do not agree with the Embargo on Cuba because they seem to agree with the fact
that the embargo hurts the Cuban citizens more than the government. Cuba s relationship with the
Soviet Union during the Cold War rose concerns about U.S. National Security, but the era is long over.
The USSR dissolved in 1991, and American policy has adapted to change in most aspects apart from
Embargo. If 50 years of sanctions have not toppled the Castro regime, there is no reason to think the
embargo will ever work. U.S. has economic relations with countries like China and Saudi Arabia that
have similarly been called out for repressing dissent. Iran, for example, stands as the greatest threat to
United States National Security interests in 2014 much like Cuba

A Reflection On My Experience With Grief And Bereavement...
On April 6, 2016, I shadowed Megan in 7C and PICU, which was an eventful day full of thought
provoking and noteworthy patient interactions and child life centered conversations. This was my
second time in 7C/PICU but my first time shadowing Megan. It was intriguing to see how two
different CCLS s handled the same units. Through my shadowing experience and observations, I
gained knowledge of how to handle grief/bereavement situations, how to properly prioritize patients,
charting techniques, and much more. This week I was able to reflect back to my knowledge of
development so that I could better relate our coursework to my practicum experiences. In this journal,
I will focus on two main patient interactions, both, which were unique, thought provoking, and
relatable to developmental theory and coursework. I will also briefly discuss the knowledge I gained
on how a CCLS can provide support during grief and bereavement situations.
The first interaction I observed/participated in was with an 8 year old male in the PICU who was
coping with injuries from a major automobile accident and lice. Megan and I entered the room where
the patient was playing with a remote control car. His nurse had created a racetrack out of toys and
items in his hospital room. It was refreshing to see a nurse who valued play enough to take the time to
create a playful environment for her patient. Megan swiftly built rapport, explained her role, and
offered normative play opportunities. The patient was

Essay on comparing alexander II and alexander III
Compare and contrast the social and economic policies of Alexander II (1855 81) and Alexander III
(1881 94) of Russia.
Alexander II and Alexander III were both Tsars of Russia and they both believed in the divine will to
rule the people. However Alexander II is said to be more liberal than Alexander III though they were
both conservative in one way or the other in their social and economic policies because they both
wanted to remain with the power over the people. Alexander II was more relaxed in his polices Great
Reformer and Alexander III was more strict great reactionary . After the defeat in the Crimean defeat

Alexander II gave poor ignored people more freedom while Alexander III took away their freedom.
Alexander II was more of a forgiving Tsar which made him very social when he forgave a

of a less forgiving Tsar as when he immediately got into power he executed Sofia and the other
revolution lists that had assassinated his father. Therefore Alexander II was a more lenient and tolerant
Tsar while Alexander III was more of a harsh and action taking Tsar.
During Alexander II reign he concentrated on exposing Russia to the outside world therefore he built a
railway line. During this period too there was some though very little reform in the government s
taxation policies which still was a heavy burden for the peasants because they still had to pay poll tax
which was increased by 80% during his reign while Alexander III abolished the poll tax and also

Michelle Kwan s Life And Accomplishments
Michelle Kwan once said, When I was younger, I always dreamed of being a legend, to be
remembered in figure skating. Kwan has been a champion since the beginning. She started figure
skating when she was five years old (Kwan 7). She was born on July 7, 1980 in Southern California
and has lived there her whole life (Ramback 16). Kwan has won many national, international, and
world competitions. At the age of seven, Kwan knew that she wanted to become a champion (Kwan
18). Michelle Kwan is an inspirational U.S figure skater starting with her early life, to how she never

(Michelle). She was fifteen years old when she won her first title (Ramback 7). Also, Kwan is the
fourth youngest and the tenth oldest United States champion is history (Milton 101). She competed at
her first United States Championships at the age of twelve in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993 at the junior
level after winning Regionals and getting third at Sectionals. At her first Nationals she forgot to polish
her skates, which is a very important thing to do at Nationals especially. Not only did she forget some
major steps in competing at Nationals, but both of her programs were a mess and she ended up getting
ninth place (Kwan 45). Kwan has earned a total of forty two 6.0 marks at the United States
Championships which is three times more than any other United States figure skater (Milton 103). A
6.0 mark was a perfect score from the judges up until 2004 when the federation changed the judging
system. Not only did Kwan win many National Competitions, but she won many International
Competitions as well. She has won a total of nine World Championship medals which are five gold,
three silver, and one bronze (Milton 103). Kwan was

The Effects Of Mental Skills On Sports Psychology
Introduction The use of mental skills in sports psychology can both benefit an athlete to motivate
themselves and provide them with the self confidence to achieve although the use of these skills can
also have a negative impact on the athlete. This review of literature includes two different types of
mental skills that can be used to help an athlete in the rehabilitation process, one study to support the
concept that athletes benefit from a range of mental skills use is Arvinen Barrow et al. This study took
place in 2015, found out that 71.6% of 1283 athletes indicated that they believed mental skills helped
them to rehabilitate faster when using 3 types of mental skills (imagery, goal setting and positive self
talk). On the other hand there are studies which argue against the positives of mental skills more
specifically relaxation and imagery and one example is a study conducted by Francis, Andersen and
Maley (2000). The results from this study backed up the idea that positive self talk and positive
reinforcement from an external individual can help the rehabilitation process. However the athletes
used in this study did not believe that other mental skills such as relaxation or imagery were
particularly useful in the rehabilitation phase. Furthermore when athletes return to physical activity
there are theories that they are often feared of the injury occurring again and may not give themselves
the best chance to perform at their previous standards. The following examples of

Critical thinking of The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Beauty
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the most spectacular films of the 21st century. The movie is
interesting and beautifully shot comedy directed by Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel
consists of a prologue, five parts, and an epilogue. The film features many successful actors, but the
main story revolves around an interesting narration of Zero Moustafa (played by F Murray Abraham,
but embodied in younger years by Tony Revolori), who encounters the Author (starred by Tom
Wilkinson and Jude Law). Zero reveals the secret of how he became the owner of the Grand Budapest
s Hotel. The film draws attention to such themes as crime, love, the family revolts, prison breaks,
police action, and their possible consequences, thus transferring the audience into the world of the
characters and providing the lesson about moral values for life.
Foremost, it is important to single out the energetic character of Monsieur Gustave (played by Ralph
Fiennes), a concierge of the Grand Budapest s Hotel. Monsieur Gustave has mentored the lobby boy,
an orphan Zero. Thus, the concierge became a teacher and an advisor of a young boy with a refugee
past. Gustave saved Zero from police with the help of old acquaintance. On the other hand, the lobby
boy helps Gustave in his funny flee from prison. Zero sends him small hammers concealed inside the

Ignition Interlocks Required For All Convicted Drunk Driving Offenders From the day, the first motor
vehicle was invented, the inventors did not realize that alcohol would become a problem for drivers.
Although people tried taking keys away and designated drivers, fatalities involving drunk drivers
continued to rise. With the advancement in technology, there had to be a way to prevent vehicles from
being started if a person was under the influence of alcohol. Even though convicted drunk driving
offenders already receive fines and jail time, ignition interlocks should be mandatory for all convicted

Yeats Irish Identity shaped poetry, mythology and history, other Irish writers, folktales, Irish Theatre.
Many people say that William Butler Yeats was the greatest poem writer from the 20th century but to
him he was just an ordinary person that had a love for writing poems. William Butler Yeats was born
on 13 June 1865 in County Dublin, Ireland to John Butler Yeats, a lawyer turned portrait painter and
Susan Mary Pollexfen, daughter of a wealthy family from county Sligo Yeats s mother shared with her

Altered Spontaneous Brain Activity in Schizophrenia: A Meta Analysis and a Large Sample Study
(This Article was Okayed by Professor Michael Christie on May 2, 2016)
Introduction
Schizophrenia is a neuropsychiatric disorder (Xu, Y., Zhuo., Qin, W., Zhu, J., Yu, C. (2015) page one).
This disorder has been known to have structural and functional abnormalities that affect the brain (Xu,
Y., Zhuo., Qin, W., Zhu, J., Yu, C. (2015) page one). Individuals with schizophrenia suffer from
spontaneous brain activity (Xu, Y., Zhuo., Qin, W., Zhu, J., Yu, C. (2015) page one). Amplitude of low
frequency fluctuations (ALFF), fractional ALFF (fALFF), and regional homogeneity (ReHo) of blood
oxygen level dependent (BLOD) signals that come from resting state functional magnetic resonance
imaging (rs fMRI) is how spontaneous brain activity is measured (Xu, Y., Zhuo., Qin, W., Zhu, J., Yu,
C. (2015) page one). Amplitude of low frequency fluctuations (ALFF) is used to measure the blood
oxygen level dependent (BOLD). This happens by a low frequency range at a single voxel level (Xu,

My Life Of A Cab Calloway
Cab Calloway was born in Rochester, New York, on Christmas Day in 1907. The family relocated to
Baltimore, Maryland. His mother, Martha Eulalia Reed, was a Morgan State College graduate, teacher
and church organist. His father, Cabell Calloway, Jr., was a graduate of Lincoln University of
Pennsylvania in 1898 and worked as a lawyer and in real estate
Cab Calloway spent his adolescent years growing up in West Baltimore s Sugar Hill, considered the
political, cultural, and business hub of black society. There he grew up comfortably in a middle class
household. Early on, his parents recognized their son s musical talent and he began private voice
lessons in 1922. He continued to study music and voice throughout his formal schooling. Despite his
parents and teachers disapproval of jazz, Calloway began frequenting and performing in many of
Baltimore s nightclubs. As a result, he came into contact with many of the local jazz luminaries of the
time. He counted among his early mentors drummer Chick Webb and pianist Johnny Jones. After his
graduation from Frederick Douglass High School,Calloway joined his older sister, Blanche, in a
touring production of the popular black musical revue, Plantation Days.(Blanche Calloway became an
accomplished bandleader before her brother did, and he would often credit her as his inspiration for
entering show business.) His parents had hopes of their son becoming an attorney following after his
father, so Calloway enrolled at Crane College in

Between The Lines Of Beowulf
Between the Lines of Beowulf Epic poems date back to the early years Before Christ, some even as
far into the past as 2100 Before Christ. The original unknown author of Beowulf writes in the Old
English language and illustrates medieval times in stunning detail. Burton Raffel credibly translates
ancient works of literature into a legible dialect of today s society, while obtaining many of the literary
elements used in the original pieces of writing. Readers regard Beowulf as the mother poem of
England. This recognition only increases the significance of Beowulf, the actual character, as an epic
hero. The poem itself reflects on the Anglo Saxon way of life, and establishes great differences from
today s society. Like most pieces of literature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

sound amuses the readers once again. Within the original poem written in Old English every line of
the poem contained four beats. The Old English version of Beowulf also contained a pause within
most lines; poets refer to this pause as a caesura. When Beowulf is rebutting Unferth s false
statements, he creates a caesura: You murdered your brothers, / Your own close kin. Words and bright
wit / Won t help your soul; you ll suffer hell s fires, / Unferth, forever tormented (l. 320 23). The
location of the pauses within this particular caesura produce great emotion, yet the lines contain
extremely simple phrases. In addition to caesuras, Beowulf embodies a countless amount of kennings.

Treblinka II And The Holocaust
Jewish inmates organized a resistance group in Treblinka in early 1943. When camp operations neared
completion, the prisoners feared they would be killed and the camp dismantled. During the late spring
and summer of 1943, the resistance leaders decided to revolt. On August 2, 1943, prisoners quietly
seized weapons from the camp armory, but were discovered before they could take over the camp.
Hundreds of prisoners stormed the main gate in an attempt to escape. Many were killed by machine
gun fire. More than 300 did escape though two thirds of those who escaped were eventually tracked
down and killed by German SS and police as well as military units. Acting under orders from Lublin,
German SS and police personnel supervised the surviving prisoners, who were forced to dismantle the
camp. After completion of this job, the German SS and police authorities shot the surviving prisoners.

Squat Exercise
Knees buckling into the valgus position When performing the back squat, some clients tend to let their
knees collapse and position into a valgus or knock knee position as seen in Figures 8, 9 and 10. The
positioning of the knees is dramatically different in these figures as compared to Figure 18. This may
occur during the squat for three reasons: the client s quadriceps femoris musculature may be too weak,
a weakness in posterior chain muscles of the hip extensors and hamstrings or the client lacks the
dorsiflexion in their ankle to perform the squat with the proper depth necessary to achieve maximal

Also, during the squat, the patella has its greatest compression force on the femur at 90˚. As a result, if
the patella is shifted laterally and there is a higher compressive force on a smaller surface area, there
will be an increase in patellofemoral irritation and shear. In addition to the patellofemoral pain,
increasing the valgus stress in load bearing predisposes the MCL to increased stress and injury. The
MCL accounts for 80% of the valgus restraint on the knee.34 With the addition of weight due to the
squat, this then places extra stress on the MCL and over time, could cause ligament laxity or for the
ligament to tear if the stress is too great. This tends to happen during the ascent phase, where there is a
valgus collapse, increased the stress placed on the MCL. The valgus moment also places increased
stress on the ACL during both the initial ascent and during the full return.1 One way to prevent some
of the valgus collapse and medial rotation of the femur

Types of Changing in Looking for Alibrandi Essay
There are many types of change, change in perspective, emotional change, physically change and
world change. In Looking for Alibrandi, the author, Melina Marchetta demonstrates, the concept of
change not only through the main character, Josephine, but also some other minor characters such as
Michael Andretti and John Barton though the majority is shown through Josephine. The poem, The
Door by Miroslav Holub is very similar to Looking for Alibrandi as it also shows the concept of
change but it tells us that change can mean that anything could happen even if that anything is
nothing. Change can be good, it can be bad, change can be anything and it can even start relationships.
Relationships can be a catalyst for change; it can start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the novel progresses she starts to realize that it doesn t matter where you come from, you re as
special as anyone else, she says I m an Australian with Italian blood flowing rapidly through my veins.
I ll say that with pride, because it s pride that I feel (By using repetition of the word pride
demonstrates her change in self perception and her confidence in her cultural identity, it also re
enforces that she has pride in herself). After figuring out that being Italian and Australian doesn t
matter, she reassures herself, Jacob says You people should go back to your own country if you re so
confused. Josie responds This is my country, I whispered. (The fact that she whispers demonstrates her
shock and also her lack of conviction that she truly belongs which shows us that she has accepted her
culture and heritage.) Therefore I have learnt that change can show us things that we ve never seen
before and with change, we learn to accept things for the better. As opposed to positive, change can be
negative, negative change can influence the other people around you and change them as well. In the
novel, John Barton dies; this death negatively influences the people close to him like Josie. Before
John dies, Josie has a crush on him and says to us, Picture this. School Captain of St Anthony s. Son

Character Conflict in Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire
Tennessee Williams A Streetcar Named Desire is a play wrought with intertwining conflicts between
characters. A drama written in eleven scenes, the play takes place in New Orleans over a nine month
period. The atmosphere is noisy, with pianos playing in the distance from bars in town. It is a crowded
area of the city, causing close relations with neighbors, and the whole town knowing your business.

There are many external events alluded to through the text. It is hinted that the start of Blanche s
insanity was when she found out that her husband was a homosexual. Stella leaves Belle Reve, and
Blanche is stuck to take care of their dying kin, while losing their family home. Before Blanche
arrives in New Orleans, she is fired from her teaching job because the entire town knows of her as a
whore. This is also what ruins her in New Orleans because the manager at Stanley s job has passed
through the hotel she used to live in. The internal events of the play begin with Blanches arrival.
Immediately, Stanley assumes that Blanche sold Belle Reve for money, and believes that a share of it
belongs to him. In an argument Stanley hits Stella, and Blanche uses it as an excuse to lure Stella
away. Mitch and Blanche begin dating, and decide that they will wed. When Stanley finds this out he
informs Mitch as a friend of Blanche s past, and breaks up the engagement. Stella goes to the hospital
to have her baby, and while she is there Stanley and Blanche have a fight, which ends with sexual
relations. After Stella returns from the hospital, a nurse and a doctor come to take Blanche away.
Mitch begins to cry, showing that he really did love her.
Reversals are common in this play. Mitch goes from wanting to marry Blanche, to calling the wedding
off. Stanley goes from hating Blanche to fooling around with her, which could be interpreted as an act

CSM Pilot Jack Swigert was preparing to make some star sightings with his sextant. At fifty five

My Importance Of Academic Interests In High School
My academic interests throughout the years have really changed and evolved as I have matured as a
student. Since I started school, I ve always had an appreciation for academics and the various subjects
that I learned. I would attribute this to the fact that I was able to work with and learn from students,
teachers or friends that were passionate about a particular subject, helping me understand a subject s
value even if it did not particularly interest me. By having this exposure during my formative years
where I learned to think independently, I came to cherish my own education in addition to realizing
the importance and value education can hold for others. As I grew older and began to think for myself,
I developed an affinity towards math and science. I would attribute this to the fact that my mind is
more analytical than creative, leading me to find interest in areas of study that progress logically and
introduce concepts that can be built on top of each other. Once I got to high school, the science classes
that I took started to utilize concepts from mathematics and vice versa. I was particularly interested
when concepts and ideas stemming from a variety of fields were put together in order to accomplish
something practical. I began to seek out articles and videos online to further develop my knowledge of
technology and scientific phenomena. At the end of my junior year, I was motivated to seek out and

You can very quickly tell whether you have built a poor connector on either end, or if you do not have
a solid connection to the switching hardware device. On the cost side, I would contend that the support
for future growth in bandwidth and error minimization should easily offset the cost difference.
On the distribution layer, I would suggest using V LAN devices that are interconnected. By using V
LAN devices you can easily provision separate LANs on each floor while still supporting any network
changes in the future. V LAN devices can provide both switching and routing capabilities because
they act as both layer 2 and layer 3 devices. This is a huge advantage in the fact that you can provision
separate subnets for each LAN while still allowing certain IPs the ability to communicate to either
subnet. This is setup in the router side of the V LAN software. The V LAN also easily supports the
adding of more user machines (with enough fiber runs established) electronically. Opponents will say
that V LANs required the added expenses of more knowledge and management than the more
standard design of separate physical switches and routers. I agree, but we have to keep in mind that
this is a new construction process. We want to ensure that we have appropriate hardware to support
future growth potential whether it is in

Basic Crisis Intervention Theory

to get out of the fire with minor injuries. Unfortunately, the Samantha s boyfriend was sleeping
upstairs and died in the fire. This tragic event not only took Samantha s home but her loved one and
possessions. I have selected the Basic Crisis Intervention Theory because I believe it fits best with this
crisis.

suffering a loss (James Gilliland, 2017). In this case, Samantha has lost her loved one and her home.

During this time of disequilibrium, an individual becomes vulnerable to deterioration (Lewis Roberts,
2001). There are four stages that occurs when individuals are in a state of emotional disequilibrium,
which are disturbed equilibrium, brief therapy or grief work, working through the grief, and
restoration of equilibrium (James Gilliland, 2017). It is essential to guide Samantha through her crisis
by working on her grief and restoration and balance of her emotional equilibrium.
Crisis Intervention
In basic crisis intervention theory, the client s behavior and response to the crisis is normal and only
temporary (James Gilliland, 2017). The grief behaviors that the client may display are preoccupation
with loss, identification with the lost one, guilt and hostility, disorganization in daily routine, and
somatic complaints (James Gilliland, 2017). It is critical for the counselor to work with Samantha
through her grief behaviors and implement an intervention. There is a 7 stage crisis intervention model
that Samantha will progress through as she continues counseling. The first stage is to plan a

Political, Social, And Political Changes In The Medieval Ages
In Medieval Europe Kingdoms there were many changes. Most of the changes were good for the
world. The changes in medieval times can be drawn comparison to todays world. The changes focused
on will be political, social, and economic. These changes will help people understand a small part of
the worlds history. There were many political changes in Europe s Medieval society. In Medieval
Europe it showed the largest growth in the society in Europe. The government was also made into
bureaucracies, bureaucrats did not have full control over the people. Europe helped influence many
places around them. The rulers did not have complete rule of there people, it leads to a more self
governed society. The rulers in the society more made rules for the people, made ideas for battle, and
found out ways to strengthen their communities as a whole. This did cause plenty of fights in
Medieval Europe over who had the most power. The popes were important to the people back then.
After the fight between pope and government Europe was seeing the world with a new eye. Political
changes helped sculpt the world that in present day, and will help effect life for a long time to come.
Another important fact to the changing of Medieval Europe is the social changes. There were new
social classes that came into play at this time. Merchants and artisans helped in the change of the
social classes. Even though women did increase the Europe world they were still considered defined
by men in the time.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Limestone Caves
and minimized?
A Cave:
Caves, also known as karsts, are very unique and are a special part of our natural environment. Caves
form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of
rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they
usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more
decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016).
Damaged caused by humans in caves:
Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot
recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There
are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the
main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many
other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall.
Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes,
and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate
than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal
annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the
production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). A research investigation undertaken by the University of

The Unemployment Rate Of The United States Essay
Unemployment rates were essentially higher in August in 6 states, lower in 3 states, and stable in 41
states and the District of Columbia, the U.S. Authority of Labor Statistics reported today. Ten states
had eminent jobless rate diminishes from a year prior, 5 states had increments, and 35 states and the
District had no noteworthy change. The national unemployment rate stayed at 4.9 percent in August
and was minimal not quite the same as that of August 2015.
Nonfarm finance work expanded in 4 states and the District of Columbia in August 2016, diminished
in 3 states, and was basically unaltered in 43 states. Throughout the year, 35 states included calculable
quantities of nonfarm finance employments, North Dakota and Wyoming lost occupations, and 13
states and the District were basically unaltered.
Territorial Unemployment
In August, two locales had unemployment rates fundamentally not quite the same as the U.S. rate of
4.9 percent: The Midwest, at 4.5 percent, and West, at 5.3 percent. Throughout the month, no area had
a measurably critical unemployment rate change. Noteworthy throughout the year rate diminishes
happened in two areas: The South ( 0.5 rate point) and West ( 0.3 point). Among the nine geographic
divisions, the West North Central had the most minimal unemployment rate, 4.1percent in August,
trailed by New England, 4.2 percent, and the South Atlantic, 4.5 percent.
The Pacific had the most astounding rate, 5.4 percent. Throughout the month, the West

The Loss Of Evil In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
As the cynical philosopher Thomas Hobbes postulated, all humans possess an innate wickedness that
will provoke chaos in a state of nature. This philosophy can be applied to the boys looming barbarity
depicted in William Golding s Lord of the Flies, as their savagery aggrandizes overtime in their island
that was once a paradise a natural environment without civilization and supervision. The boys
eventually come to the point of destroying one another as well as nature, and these occurrences are
epitomized by scars. In this novel, scars symbolize the wayward savagery of the boys that emerges
ever since their arrival, the violence of nature that responds to their lack of civility, and the loss of
innocence due to the inherent evils of humans.
The scars illustrated throughout the novel connect the violence from the boys to reality, depicting the
permanent blight mankind has brought upon the island and the capacity humans posses to become
savage. After the plane crashes, Ralph wanders about and observes that All round him the long scar
smashed into the jungle was a beat of it. He was clambering heavily among the creepers and broken
trunks when a bird, a vision of red and yellow, flashing upwards with a witch like cry (7). The island
full of birds and lush jungles was a blank slate, as it was once unscathed by the evils of humanity;
however, the plane crash introduces an unsightly scar on the island that will never disappear as scars
never heal completely. This scar reflects

Antigone Vs Creon Character Analysis
I think I was born strong willed. That s not the kind of thing you can learn. The advantage is you stick
to what you believe in and rarely get pushed out of what you want to do, Joan Jett, American rock
guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and occasional actress. This quote could be used to describe the
main character in the story Antigone. This story highlights the true highlight of Antigone s life.
Through out this tragic story, we learn about the true meaning of family and love. Within this story we
learn about both strong minded Antigone and her uncle, Creon. Although this pair of niece and uncle
is alike with blood, they share many differences when it comes down to their personalities. Antigone
and Creon both have different motives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After reading the story and analyzing each detail, I found that they are not foil characters. Both
characters have used their words to show anger, but when the time came right, they both chose
actions. Antigone buried her brother, while Creon sent for Antigone to be killed. When both realized
that words would not solve their issues, they both chose to act out with their anger. The way that both
of these characters choose to express their anger is similar in many ways. Instead of Creon being
Antigone s foil character, I feel that Ismene is Antigone s foil. While Antigone showed bravery,
empowerment, and power, her sister decided to show that she was weak and she had no capacity to
take her life into her own hands. These two sisters chose to live their lives in different ways. When one
tried to put justice in her families name the other decided to run and hide from an adventure and the
truth. Throughout this story we learn that family and justice is more important than an image one
should maintain. Antigone clearly felt that it did not matter if you lost the respect of all others, these
individuals should not define how you treat those who are extremely close to you. Through my
perspective Antigone shows that the Golden Rule comes to play throughout one s life. Creon made
this law and he had targeted specifically towards his nephew, but if Creon

Compare And Contrast The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Following the crowd can have disastrous consequences is something both first they came by Martin
Niemoller and The lottery by Shirley Jackson have in common. But for different reasons. Both stories
are different but are also the same. Both stories share the same theme but for different reasons. So
these two stories have a lot in common but somethings that are different, so in this essay I will talk
about how they are the same and also different.
Some ways that The Lottery and First they came are the same is that they both share the same theme.
For example, they both share the theme that they both have disastrous consequences from following
the crowd. For instance, in the lottery Tessie follows the crowd by participating in the lottery with
everyone else. And in First they came martin followed the crowd by not speaking up. The two
characters not speaking up led to their death. Which is something both stories had in common.
Another way that you can compare both stories is that both of the characters didn t stand up for what s
right when they should have. For instance, in the poem First they came in lines 1, 3, and 4 it says and I
did not speak out so this means he did not speak out for other people. But when he got called he
expected someone to speak out instead. In the story The Lottery Tessie did not speak out about how
the bad The Lottery was. For example, the entire story Tessie didn t say the lottery was a bad idea until
she was chosen to get stoned. For instance,

Appliances for molar distalization can be classified as compliance or non compliance appliances.
Compliance ones such as extraoral traction and removable appliances rely on patient cooperation. An
increasing need has been recognized for non compliance appliances that don t depend on patient
cooperation and are under orthodontist s control.9 11 Non compliance modalities involve the use of
fixed distalizers.12 The application of force in these appliances can occur from the buccal, palatal
regions, or both.13 These appliances include: Pendulum14, Intraoral Bodily Molar Distalizer15, First
Class9, Distal Jet 16 and Jones Jig.17 One of the fairly new intermaxillary Class II correctors on the
market is the Carriere Distalizer. The appliance offers a comprehensive design made of a mold
injected, nickel free stainless steel arm that extends from the canine pad on the mesial end to a
posterior end consisting of a ball and socket joint attached to the molar pad. Activation is via the use
of Class II elastics with the use of an appropriate mandibular anchorage unit.18,

Zoroastrian Beliefs
Zoroastrians do not worship fire as many thought. The Zoroastrians worship the elements as pure
Beings. They believed that fire represents Ahura Mazda s light or wisdom. They use many ceremonies

For weddings both the bride and the groom wear white. Weddings come in two stages, The first stage
is where the bride and groom and their family or guardians sign a marriage contract. After the contract
then the celebrations and feasts begin, they usually last between three and seven days. During the
ceremony married female relatives hold a fine white scarf over the couple s heads as well as two
crystallized sugar cones that are rubbed together, to sweeten the couple s life. The two parts of the
scarf are sewn together to symbolise the couples lives being united. Now on to the Funerals,
Zoroastrians believe that when the last breath of a person is taken the body then becomes impure.
They believe that death is the work of the being that embodies all evil in the world and the name of
that being is Angra Mainyu. Since the dead body is considered impure, it is also believed that if you
contaminate the elements with decaying matter it is one of the greatest crime in this religion. To avoid
this they built structures called the towers of silence, this is where the body would be placed open to
the sun and to be eaten by birds. The Navjote is where a child between seven and twelve receives their
sudreh and kusti and get to perform the kusti ritual for the first time. The navjote is also known as
Sedreh Pushi and it is performed with a zoroastrian priest. It is required for all families and consists of

Waite House Reflection
When first prompted with the assignment to volunteer 20 hours of my time somewhere off the
University of Minnesota s campus, I was quite stressed out because of the time commitment.
However, as I was reading through the list of possible locations to volunteer one particular place
grabbed my attention and made me feel as though it would not be as terrible of an experience that I
assumed it would be for me. The name of this place was Waite House and thankfully it is currently the
organization where I am engaging in my service learning. Waite House is located in the Ventura
Village neighborhood within the Phillips community in Minneapolis. Waite House caught my
attention because not only was it a relatively short commute on the public transit system, but the
description mentioned youth fitness and obesity/diabetes prevention. Not only am I educated in
diabetes prevention, but I also have previous experience with fitness and working with youth. So, I
applied to this organization because I felt as though Waite House would be the perfect placement for
me. According to the Waite House website, their purpose/mission states the following: Waite House
programs integrate civic engagement with human services to bring about positive change within our
core focus areas of Employment and Training, Health and Nutrition, Youth ... Show more content on

Soft issues, cultural human resource issues will be as much of a driver of cost and schedule as the hard
issues like planning and execution. It is critical to the success of this project, and perhaps the
organization s international growth strategy, that this project be completed on time, and on budget.
The organization anticipates possible schedule delays and cost overruns due to cultural assumptions
and misunderstandings. Knowing that schedule delays will affect costs and international expansion
strategy, we pay particular attention to the project s critical path (see Appendix A, and the
accompanying MS Project file s network diagram view). To deal with these risks, the team has built
several feeding time buffers into the work breakdown schedule, at constraints along the critical path
(Goldratt, 1998). A large project buffer has also been added to protect the end of the project. Attention
to the safety buffers along the critical path will contribute to the team s successful execution of the
project. This plan presents an overview of the project organization, including the team s organization
chart, project responsibilities, and staffing plans. Next, the plan addresses the organization s
management process related to this project. Management s objectives, priorities, Acme Project Plan
and monitoring and control mechanisms are covered in this section. The project s technical process
plan is covered next, reviewing such things

Cross Cultural Virtual Teams Essay
Introduction
The evolution of globalization and the advancement of communication technology have increased the
amount of cross cultural, virtual teams in existence in today s business world. Cross cultural, virtual
teams can leverage on the diverse experiences of its members to achieve good results even without the
members meeting face to face.
Having good leadership of any project team is undoubtedly essential for the success of the team. It is
thus imperative for virtual, cross cultural teams to be led properly and carefully so that their cultural
diversity and virtual presence does not become a source of conflict and eventual failure.
Challenges posed by cultural diversity among team members
There are a number of challenges that a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes it easier for them to understand words spoken than between members of cross cultural
teams where first languages and accents may differ. For example, I work with a multicultural team and
I often find it difficult to understand my Turkish colleagues when they try to speak English. Many
times I ask questions so that I can get the message they are trying to pass across. It however becomes
frustrating sometimes because a lot of important information often gets lost in the discussion because I
can t understand properly. This has caused delay in meeting business targets in the past.
Cross cultural team members also face a challenge of having to understand that other team members
possibly have a different idea of how to treat their bosses. Drawing from the example of my job team
at work, I noticed that my American team members do not really run their ideas through our team
leader before taking actions. However, my Turkish boss does not like this as he comes from a culture
where everything a subordinate does should be run through the boss for approval. This had caused
strains in the team s effectiveness in the past; until my American team members adapted to fit our
team leader s wishes.
As with my previous example, my American partners often make quick decisions without really
examining the complete consequences of their decisions. This can be traced to their quick and sharp
approach to life while my Turkish and Egyptian counterparts like to look through

Journal of Sofonisba Anguissola
From the Journal of Sofonisba Anguissola:
June 1, 1581
I have painted many self portraits in my life, but the one that sticks out the most to me is the one in
which I painted myself holding a book. I was born in a time, when women typically were not
encouraged to obtain an education. My family, however, went against the grain, and actively
supported my sisters and I in our education. Even today, as I write this, my society celebrates women
for our virtue and beauty, (Niyazi, 2011) with our sole purpose being solely the ambition to marry and
bear children (Niyazi, 2011). Nowadays, women in Italy are consigned to sit in their palazzos and
pursue needle work (Burke, 1995) when not occupied with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
I avoided these female signifiers (Niyazi, 2011) so that the audience would not connect my image with
beauty, which is something that is traditionally connected to women in my society. I created this
image to look masculine in order to show that I am mature, independent, and self possessed (Niyazi,
2011). Even the background behind me has nothing that would detract from this; the background is a
rich green color that only makes my figure stand out to the viewer.
I can only hope that the women that have looked at this portrait of me are inspired to pursue their
goals and dreams, no matter how foolish they may seem to be by society. I have been fortunate
enough to be allowed to break away from my expected norms and go after the arts. I hear that I am the
first known woman artists to achieve international fame, (Clara, 2012) which means that my efforts
and my talents have not gone in vain. It is my humble wish that decades from now, women can look at
this painting and see that their efforts to be more equal to men are worth and so important.
Amongst the paintings that I have created, there are several others that I think are an important
contribution to the study of art. The first one is The Family Group, which I painted in 1558. In this
painting, the central figures are my father, Amilcare, my sister Minerva, and my only brother,
Asrudbale. In the painting, my father s attention is focused on my brother, while my sister stands
behind them. This painting represents

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original popular movie Terminator provides a great example of
an extremely descriptive movie actor with many descriptive traits. Just picture him with humongous
big monstrous arms. Featured with a large built at a full 6 foot 2 inches from top to bottom. This
massive muscular chiseled looking person even at a distance was intimidating. Every square inch of
him looked as impenetrable as a fortress. He was in full military gear with black velcro straps all over
his body holding various equipment. In a thick black bullet proof vest with leg pouches for grenades

  • 2. Trickster-God-Creator Tricksters appear in the mythology and folklore of many cultures around the world. Although the power and relative divinity of each Trickster varies from tradition to tradition, Tricksters have important roles in the creation, development, and sometimes destruction, of each culture. The Coyote of Native North American traditions is often depicted as assisting the Great Mystery or Great Spirit in the creating and populating of the world (Leeming). In the Greek myths Hermes is initially a sly infant who captures a tortoise with his untruths and fashions the first lyre from its shell, but eventually transitions to a place amongst the Olympic pantheon as the messenger of the gods. In the Norse myths of the Scandinavian countries, Loki is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coyote is sometimes purely self concerned, such as in the Sioux story of Coyote, Iktome, and the Rock (Leeming 50 2), providing the subject for cautionary morality tales. He is also often the victim of his own pride, such as his attempt to stay awake by propping open his eyes in order to be the first to arrive at Spirit Chief s lodge at dawn and receive a new name. Coyote falls asleep anyway, retains his name, and creates a permanent slant in his eyes (Dove 17 26). At other times, however, Coyote is selfless and miraculous. In the tale of Montezuma and Coyote in Canoes, from the Papago tradition of Arizona, after the Great Mystery has made the earth, and people have been made to populate it, led by Montezuma, Coyote comes to the great leader of men and instructs the chief to build a canoe. Montezuma doesn t understand why he would need a canoe, but before long a flood of Biblical magnitude washes away the land, and only Coyote and Montezuma survive to lead the new people the Great Mystery creates to repopulate (Leeming 110 11). It would seem easier to allow even the chief to perish in the flood if Coyote really is purely the self important Trickster so often depicted, but he seems intuitively to know that Montezuma will be a better leader to teach the people all the things they would need to know to survive (111). Similarly, in the story of Coyote and the Footrace, Coyote allows his own son to be killed in order to teach the rituals for burial of the dead ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Embargo on Cuba Embargo on Cuba The U.S. imposed an Embargo on Cuba on Oct. 19, 1960. Has the time come for the United States to lift the 5 decade embargo? The Embargo on Cuba was a part of America s Cold War strategy against the Soviet Union, imposed on the basis that Cuba was a threat to the U.S. National Security because of their alliance with the Soviet Union. Although Cuba would like the U.S to terminate the embargo against their country, the U.S. wants Cuba to make their situation a better living environment and to promote human rights for its citizens. The Cuban Embargo, also known as el bloqueo to Cuban citizens, was declared by the United States in 1960 to eliminate imports of Cuban goods. When the embargo was first set, it was only to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Raul Castro has gradually implanted major economic reforms and lifted travel restrictions, which will help the country strengthen its international position. Because of Raul making huge changes for Cuba, the island has let in allowing Cubans to buy or sell property, expand consumer goods such as, DVD players, microwaves, cell phones and internet service. These small but large changes for Cuba, that Raul changed, is making a huge impact on the isolated island. Now, because of Raul s changes, the U.S. talks with Cuban officials every 6 months to see how everything is playing out (Frank). Many people in the U.S. do not agree with the Embargo on Cuba because they seem to agree with the fact that the embargo hurts the Cuban citizens more than the government. Cuba s relationship with the Soviet Union during the Cold War rose concerns about U.S. National Security, but the era is long over. The USSR dissolved in 1991, and American policy has adapted to change in most aspects apart from Embargo. If 50 years of sanctions have not toppled the Castro regime, there is no reason to think the embargo will ever work. U.S. has economic relations with countries like China and Saudi Arabia that have similarly been called out for repressing dissent. Iran, for example, stands as the greatest threat to United States National Security interests in 2014 much like Cuba ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Reflection On My Experience With Grief And Bereavement... On April 6, 2016, I shadowed Megan in 7C and PICU, which was an eventful day full of thought provoking and noteworthy patient interactions and child life centered conversations. This was my second time in 7C/PICU but my first time shadowing Megan. It was intriguing to see how two different CCLS s handled the same units. Through my shadowing experience and observations, I gained knowledge of how to handle grief/bereavement situations, how to properly prioritize patients, charting techniques, and much more. This week I was able to reflect back to my knowledge of development so that I could better relate our coursework to my practicum experiences. In this journal, I will focus on two main patient interactions, both, which were unique, thought provoking, and relatable to developmental theory and coursework. I will also briefly discuss the knowledge I gained on how a CCLS can provide support during grief and bereavement situations. The first interaction I observed/participated in was with an 8 year old male in the PICU who was coping with injuries from a major automobile accident and lice. Megan and I entered the room where the patient was playing with a remote control car. His nurse had created a racetrack out of toys and items in his hospital room. It was refreshing to see a nurse who valued play enough to take the time to create a playful environment for her patient. Megan swiftly built rapport, explained her role, and offered normative play opportunities. The patient was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alexander II and Alexander III were both Tsars of Russia and they both believed in the divine will to rule the people. However Alexander II is said to be more liberal than Alexander III though they were both conservative in one way or the other in their social and economic policies because they both wanted to remain with the power over the people. Alexander II was more of a forgiving Tsar which made him very social when he forgave a revolutionary group when he came to power and did not execute them while Alexander III was more of a less forgiving Tsar as when he immediately got into power he executed Sofia and the other revolution lists that had assassinated his father. Therefore Alexander II was a more lenient and tolerant Tsar while Alexander III was more of a harsh and action taking Tsar. During Alexander II reign he concentrated on exposing Russia to the outside world therefore he built a railway line. Also, Kwan is the fourth youngest and the tenth oldest United States champion is history (Milton 101). She competed at her first United States Championships at the age of twelve in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993 at the junior level after winning Regionals and getting third at Sectionals. • 7. The Effects Of Mental Skills On Sports Psychology Introduction The use of mental skills in sports psychology can both benefit an athlete to motivate themselves and provide them with the self confidence to achieve although the use of these skills can also have a negative impact on the athlete. This review of literature includes two different types of mental skills that can be used to help an athlete in the rehabilitation process, one study to support the concept that athletes benefit from a range of mental skills use is Arvinen Barrow et al. This study took place in 2015, found out that 71.6% of 1283 athletes indicated that they believed mental skills helped them to rehabilitate faster when using 3 types of mental skills (imagery, goal setting and positive self talk). On the other hand there are studies which argue against the positives of mental skills more specifically relaxation and imagery and one example is a study conducted by Francis, Andersen and Maley (2000). The results from this study backed up the idea that positive self talk and positive reinforcement from an external individual can help the rehabilitation process. However the athletes used in this study did not believe that other mental skills such as relaxation or imagery were particularly useful in the rehabilitation phase. Furthermore when athletes return to physical activity there are theories that they are often feared of the injury occurring again and may not give themselves the best chance to perform at their previous standards. Critical Thinking Of The Grand Budapest Hotel Doug Weinriech Professor Tumminello The Art of Theatrical Cinema March 12, 2016 Critical thinking of The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Beauty The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the most spectacular films of the 21st century. The movie is interesting and beautifully shot comedy directed by Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel consists of a prologue, five parts, and an epilogue. The film features many successful actors, but the main story revolves around an interesting narration of Zero Moustafa (played by F Murray Abraham, but embodied in younger years by Tony Revolori), who encounters the Author (starred by Tom Wilkinson and Jude Law). Zero reveals the secret of how he became the owner of the Grand Budapest s Hotel. The film draws attention to such themes as crime, love, the family revolts, prison breaks, police action, and their possible consequences, thus transferring the audience into the world of the characters and providing the lesson about moral values for life. Foremost, it is important to single out the energetic character of Monsieur Gustave (played by Ralph Fiennes), a concierge of the Grand Budapest s Hotel. Monsieur Gustave has mentored the lobby boy, an orphan Zero. Thus, the concierge became a teacher and an advisor of a young boy with a refugee past. Gustave saved Zero from police with the help of old acquaintance. On the other hand, the lobby boy helps Gustave in his funny flee from prison. Zero sends him small hammers concealed inside the cakes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Between The Lines Of Beowulf Between the Lines of Beowulf Epic poems date back to the early years Before Christ, some even as far into the past as 2100 Before Christ. The original unknown author of Beowulf writes in the Old English language and illustrates medieval times in stunning detail. Burton Raffel credibly translates ancient works of literature into a legible dialect of today s society, while obtaining many of the literary elements used in the original pieces of writing. Readers regard Beowulf as the mother poem of England. This recognition only increases the significance of Beowulf, the actual character, as an epic hero. The repetition of the f sound amuses the readers once again. Within the original poem written in Old English every line of the poem contained four beats. The Old English version of Beowulf also contained a pause within most lines; poets refer to this pause as a caesura. When Beowulf is rebutting Unferth s false statements, he creates a caesura: You murdered your brothers, / Your own close kin. Words and bright wit / Won t help your soul; you ll suffer hell s fires, / Unferth, forever tormented (l. 320 23). The location of the pauses within this particular caesura produce great emotion, yet the lines contain extremely simple phrases. In addition to caesuras, Beowulf embodies a countless amount of kennings. Grendel acquires an abundance of kennings throughout the poem. The positioning of the knees is dramatically different in these figures as compared to Figure 18. This may occur during the squat for three reasons: the client s quadriceps femoris musculature may be too weak, a weakness in posterior chain muscles of the hip extensors and hamstrings or the client lacks the dorsiflexion in their ankle to perform the squat with the proper depth necessary to achieve maximal benefit. Also, during the squat, the patella has its greatest compression force on the femur at 90˚. In addition to the patellofemoral pain, increasing the valgus stress in load bearing predisposes the MCL to increased stress and injury. The MCL accounts for 80% of the valgus restraint on the knee.34 With the addition of weight due to the squat, this then places extra stress on the MCL and over time, could cause ligament laxity or for the ligament to tear if the stress is too great. This tends to happen during the ascent phase, where there is a valgus collapse, increased the stress placed on the MCL. On the cost side, I would contend that the support for future growth in bandwidth and error minimization should easily offset the cost difference. On the distribution layer, I would suggest using V LAN devices that are interconnected. By using V LAN devices you can easily provision separate LANs on each floor while still supporting any network changes in the future. V LAN devices can provide both switching and routing capabilities because they act as both layer 2 and layer 3 devices. This is a huge advantage in the fact that you can provision separate subnets for each LAN while still allowing certain IPs the ability to communicate to either subnet. This is setup in the router side of the V LAN software. The V LAN also easily supports the adding of more user machines (with enough fiber runs established) electronically. Opponents will say that V LANs required the added expenses of more knowledge and management than the more standard design of separate physical switches and routers. When he uses the term shimmering light it is taken as a positive attribute because objects that shimmer are often taken as being valuable, much like the materialistic items associated with the American dream. When he states his sight grew dim and I had to stop for the night, this represents the underbelly of American Materialism. As a country, Americans are never satisfied with what they have. Caves form over a long period of time, 1000 of years (National Geographic, 2015). Caves are made up of rock, ranging from volcanic to limestone. Limestone caves are more pleasing to the eye as they usually contain more decoration such as stalactites, Shawls and Straws. As limestone caves are more decorated they are more prone to damage and deformation (Science Kids, 2016). Damaged caused by humans in caves: Humans are causing great damage to limestone caves, some of which the caves themself cannot recover from. Physical damage by humans has the greatest impact on caves (Bob Robins, 2005) There are many ways humans have and continue to still damage caves, Majority of people assume that the main damage to caves is through touching formations (Caving ,Survey 2017) However there are many other factors that damage the cave just as badly such as graffiti, modernising caves and rainfall. Tourist caves undergo the most damage (G.Enriquez, B, 2001)with lost formations, climate changes, and urbanising the caves. Limestone caves are more susceptible to damage from a change in climate than volcanic caves due to the rock type. When tourists enter caves they can create thermal annomalies, the anomalies effect the overall temperature in the cave and this in turn effects the production of formations. (FECYT, 2011). • 42. The Loss Of Evil In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies As the cynical philosopher Thomas Hobbes postulated, all humans possess an innate wickedness that will provoke chaos in a state of nature. This philosophy can be applied to the boys looming barbarity depicted in William Golding s Lord of the Flies, as their savagery aggrandizes overtime in their island that was once a paradise a natural environment without civilization and supervision. The boys eventually come to the point of destroying one another as well as nature, and these occurrences are epitomized by scars. In this novel, scars symbolize the wayward savagery of the boys that emerges ever since their arrival, the violence of nature that responds to their lack of civility, and the loss of innocence due to the inherent evils of humans. The scars illustrated throughout the novel connect the violence from the boys to reality, depicting the permanent blight mankind has brought upon the island and the capacity humans posses to become savage. After the plane crashes, Ralph wanders about and observes that All round him the long scar smashed into the jungle was a beat of it. When both realized that words would not solve their issues, they both chose to act out with their anger. The way that both of these characters choose to express their anger is similar in many ways. Instead of Creon being Antigone s foil character, I feel that Ismene is Antigone s foil. While Antigone showed bravery, empowerment, and power, her sister decided to show that she was weak and she had no capacity to take her life into her own hands. These two sisters chose to live their lives in different ways. When one tried to put justice in her families name the other decided to run and hide from an adventure and the truth. Throughout this story we learn that family and justice is more important than an image one should maintain. Antigone clearly felt that it did not matter if you lost the respect of all others, these individuals should not define how you treat those who are extremely close to you. I was born in a time, when women typically were not encouraged to obtain an education. My family, however, went against the grain, and actively supported my sisters and I in our education. Even today, as I write this, my society celebrates women for our virtue and beauty, (Niyazi, 2011) with our sole purpose being solely the ambition to marry and bear children (Niyazi, 2011).
