Summary Of Love Stories By Inhorn
I think the most significant point is to understand that what we hear from the media and other sources
of news about the culture of the Middle East and notions like polygamy, arranged marriage, and lack
of romantic love between couples is exaggerated and sometimes not true.
Inhorn in the article Love Stories explains a case of a Syrian couple who have to travel to Beirut to
receive an egg donation. The couple have been married for 17 years, but they were unable to have
children because the wife is infertile. Egg donation is against their religion, and they have not told
their families about it. Although the husband, Hatam, has been under pressure by his family to divorce
his wife, or marry a second wife, he refuses because he loves his wife. Inhorn uses this ... Show more

In fact, marriage and having a family is an important notion in Middle East, and according to her 95%
of people in the Middle East marry at least once. Because of the importance of this concept in the
Middle East not only men love their wife, they also so their best to keep them happy. She argues that
arranged marriage is not a form of forced marriage, in fact it is based on the fact that couples would
develop companionship and romantic love over time. In addition, she debates that polygamy, which is
also another issue targeted by West, is not prevalent in the Middle East and only 5% of the population
practice polygamy. These are all important features that show the traditions of the Middle East are
changing. Although the couple, Hatam Huda, are both

Changes on the Home Front in the United States and England...
The Home Front during World War II was the essential backbone of the military campaign that was
being waged in Europe and the Pacific. In order to ensure the success of the war the Home Front
needed to not only ensure its own survival but also the survival of the forces that were engaged in
combat. The Home Front of both the United States and England were similar in their practices of
supporting the war, but because of the advantages of the united states being isolated from the fighting
and being a land of plentiful recourses, and England being apart of an island nation extremely close to
the fighting, England had much more difficult position and their Home Front was under a much more
immediate threat. Both Home Fronts experienced hardships and dramatic changes in their society as
they were forced to adapt to a wartime economy, they were also forced to adapt to social changes and
a whole new society and way of life for the duration of the war that would also change the future of
both the United States and England. England being separated by only the English Channel had much
more to deal with than just a harsh restricted economy they also had to deal with the immediate threat
of could come from the European mainland. So England needed to mobilize its Home Front and this
was done so in many ways to inspire the necessary changes to help protect its citizens. The British
media and entertainment was essentially an extension of the war cabinet in raising public morale. The

The Importance Of Genetic Transformation
Genetic transformation is when an organism is given genes that it is able to express from the foreign
DNA (Weedman 111). Genetic transformation is used widely today, especially in agriculture where
organisms are genetically altered to meet the food demands from corns color to squash size. When
transferring genes you need a competent cell which is the cell that is going to express the foreign DNA
(Weedman 111). There are three ways to transfer DNA, transformation where the competent cell takes
DNA from the surrounding environment, conjugation where two bacteria join and transfer DNA, and
then there is transduction where virus or vector carries DNA from a foreign organism to another
(hammiverse.com...na). In our experiment we used transduction, using a vector. There are three ways
to make the competent cell permeable. There is projectile bombardment when a gene gun is used to
coat the competent cell with DNA, there is electroporation when electric pulses are used to increase
permeability and then there is heat shock when you rapidly change the temperature of the environment
the competent cell is in from low to high temperatures making the permeability of the cell membrane
more profound (Weedman 111). We used the heat shock method in our experiment to increase the
permeability of E.coli. In the case of our experiment the competent cell is E.coli. E.coli is known for
its ability of horizontal gene transfer which is the transfer of genes from a foreign organism and is not

C Gattii Research Paper
There is a risk of C. gattii in tropical areas and the Pacific Northwest. There are many factors that
contribute to this risk. How it is transmitted, environmental causes, locations of infection, and
prevention. It is important to understand the risk before traveling so you don t become infected. To
learn more about this risk we will look at areas in which the fungi exists, who s susceptible, and how
to keep from getting sick. Cryptococcus gattii is a fungus that lives in the soil associated with certain
trees and causes the infection C. gattii Cryptococcus s. In mild climates, the fungus survives in soil
and grows in tree bark. Douglas firs carry the fungus. The fungus occurs in the top 15cm of the soil,
on trees, wood chips, mulch, and other natural reservoirs. Fungus spores are aerosolized through soil
disturbance. (https://www.emlab.com/s/sampling/env report 03 2012.html) The microscopic fungus C.
gattii can infect people after breathing it in from the environment. Cryptococcus s affects the lungs or

The Highest Amount Of Gun Control Laws
Daniel Danzo
Research Paper America has the highest amount of gun related deaths each year in the world. In
Germany 381, in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39
and in the United States, 11,127 (Moore Michael, 51:15 51:48). Since the United States has the
highest number of deaths, it is important to have gun control laws that restrict people from owning
dangerous firearms like machine guns. Gun control laws should support both sides of the debate. Of
course, both sides will not be completely happy with the laws created, but America should have a
balance. In 2008, a poll was taken stating: Adult poll respondents views on the meaning of the Second
Amendment; An individual s right to bear arms: Republican 51% and Democrats 41% (The History of
the Right to Bear Arms). Today, the United States is more divided on gun control than it has ever been.
The Second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (Milestones in Federal Gun
Control Legislation). Unless the Second Amendment is changed, we cannot take the right from others
to own guns. However, the government should regulate the types of gun Americans can own and who
can own a gun because times have changed and American s mental health system is broken.
Decades ago, the United States was once a country where a gun was considered to survive and protect.

Pathos Single Sex Education
The article Single Sex Education published by The Washington Times states the importance of
emphasizing single sex education and the advantages that come with studying in it. According to the
article, single sex education is taking public school students to a new level, providing them with a
greater variety of academic opportunities ( Single Sex Education , 2003). The purpose of the article is
to educate its audience, specifically the schools, to adopt the single sex education strategy because it
leads to improvement in the performance of students, increases the college acceptance rates and also
reduces the number of teen pregnancies. Through these arguments, the article makes use of pathos by
appealing to the emotions of the parents whose daughters have been pregnant during schools and
schools that have had to deal with such cases. The article makes use of pathos by stating that single
sex education leads to a decrease in the disciplinary cases and an improvement ... Show more content

It makes use of logos to state that single sex education leads to development of sexism in schools by
promoting the idea that males and females have different classrooms because they have different
intellects. According to the article, children who interact mostly with the same gender peers develop
increasingly narrow skill sets and interest (Biglor and Eliot, 2012). The purpose of the article is to
educate the readers about the wrong and biased ideas on which people are promoting single sex
education and to know about the disadvantages of studying in such an environment. The tone of the
article is persuasive and challenging. The article has presented some strong points in opposition of
single sex education by stating that instead of segregating the society based on gender we should make
use of coeducation to model a truly egalitarian

The Form And The Literary Style Of Wisdom
Discuss the content, the form and the literary style of wisdom as presented in Proverbs 11
Wisdom literature within the Old Testament consists of a broad collection of books that reflect on
Israel s religious faith. Within the Catholic designation, seven books that of Proverbs, Job, Psalms,
Ecclesiastes (Qoheleth) Song of Songs, Sirach and Wisdom are proffered. These books differ in both
style and subject matter, nonetheless they share common characteristics which distinguish them from
other biblical books. Wisdom has a focus on divine salvation proclaimed by the Torah and prophets,
whilst displaying a slight interest in Israel as a nation historically. There main emphasis is in
addressing the problems of why there is suffering, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Proverbs encapsulate the human experience in its universality and comprehension, and is a classic
example of postexilic composition, with a lengthy history dating back to the Solomonic era. Some
sayings have been attributed to the civilisation of the Sumerians in 3000 B.C. with later additions by
Solomon not written down until two centuries later in the time of King Hezekiah of Judah. Other
smaller collections are attributed to wise teachers and kings. Proverbs is a book largely made up of
maxims or in Hebrew the mashal. The sayings within offer a key to proper conduct in the course of
daily living and cover everything from table manners to sexual behaviour in setting forth the norms
for a good life. It is based on the reverence for God and obedience to his laws with the fear of the Lord
the essence of all true human wisdom. The origins of the Wisdom (personified as a woman) literature
are often identified with court circles where young men were trained in the discipline and skills of
royal life. Israel was not alone in this with many example of this type of wisdom on other Near
Eastern culture. Education was seen as valid and applicable to much of life s circumstances and
suitable to that of a postexilic monarchy. It is generally alleged that it was after this period that
proverbs were collected and edited. It is proposed that some of the collections of proverbs originated

The Importance Of Issues In Special Education
Introduction
Special education creates opportunities for students, parents, teachers and related staff and
administrators to work together to improve educational results students with disabilities. IEPs and
504s are the plans that help educators to develop education for each student with disabilities. The IEP
is an important legal document that handles issues in special education properly. There are so many
rules that school personnel must follow. In this assignment, I will identify effective procedures for
documentation and remediation of the teacher, her behaviors and the allegations about her regarding a
special education student.
1) Detail all steps you would take relative to the complaint by Julia s parents. Identify any and all
steps and documentation necessary under your state s laws and district policies, as well as specify
what any documentation you should include and what you will do with it.
First, I would suggest the parent file to a formal complaint about the teachers if they feel the teacher is
treating Julia differently than every other student and singling her out. According to Washoe County
School District (WCSD) policy, student or parent must fill out the formal student complaint based on
allegations of discrimination. The WCSD board policy is specifically connected student issues and
parent complaints, not every concern or a complaint is covered under the WCSD policy and
procedures. Some complaint have their own policy and procedures to follow.

Aristotle Research Paper
Aristotle
Eva Rodrigues
Aristotle was known as one of the three most important Greek philosophers along with Plato and
Socrates. Aristotle was born circa 384 B.C. in Stagira, Greece. He had siblings named Arimneste and
Arimnestus. His mother was Phaestis and his father was Nicomachus. Nicomachus was the court
physician to the Macedonian King Amynthas II. Aristotles parents died when he was young. His older
sister Arimneste and her husband took care of Aristotle.
Aristotle first studied medicine before he left and studied at Plato s Academy when he was 17.
Aristotle was a top student at the Academy. Aristotle then later stayed on at the Academy as an
instructor for 20 years. Although Aristotle was a valued member of the Academy he was not seen as
Plato s successor. This was because of some fundamental differences between their philosophies. Plato
believed that true knowledge could only be achieved through true reason. Aristotle preferred
experimentation with real objects. When Plato died, Aristotle didn t take over the school, he went back
to Macedonia where he was soon asked by King Phillip II to tutor his son, Alexander the Great.
Aristotle tutored him up until Alexander the Great became king. Aristotle the returned to Athens. ...

Dopamine Hypothesis
The Dopamine Hypothesis of Schizophrenia Schizophrenia is a chronic, psychotic disorder in which
the affected individual feels a disconnection from reality, chaotic thought patterns, delusions,
hallucinations and various disturbances in behavioural, emotional and intellectual perception.
Schizophrenia is often linked to an irregular balance of dopamine in the brain and defects of the
frontal lobe (The American Heritage medical dictionary, 2007). The symptoms of schizophrenia can
be broken down into two categories: negative symptoms and positive symptoms. The negative
symptoms include an absence of normal function, including: alogia, anhedonia, depressed appearance
and apathy (Ayd, 1995), however this essay will focus primarily on the positive ... Show more content

To treat these psychoses, anti psychotic medication is prescribed. Anti psychotic medication works by
binding to a specific receptor in the brain, known as dopamine receptor D2 (Kapur, 2000). By
blocking this receptor, symptoms of psychosis are controlled. As symptoms of stimulant psychosis are
very similar to the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, anti psychotic medication is the preferred
medication to treat affected individuals. Two types of anti psychotic medications have been developed,
typical and atypical. Typical anti psychotics have a high potency and high affinity to D2 receptors,
however this can cause extrapyramidal effects and Parkinsonism (Golan Tashjian, 2012). Atypical anti
psychotics have a lower potency and low affinity to D2 receptors and less side effects. Therefore, anti
psychotic medication must block an appropriate amount of D2 receptors as a deficiency of dopamine
can cause extrapyramidal effects and even worsen the negative symptoms whereas an excess results in
psychosis. A cross sectional neuroimaging study reveals that the link between D2 receptors and
extrapyramidal side effects occurs only after 78% of D2 receptor occupancy (Kapur,

Sustainability And Corporate Social Responsibility
Sustainability and corporate social responsibility indicate the desire of an organization as a responsible
citizen to give back to the society through initiatives that seek to better the lives of the people and
generally, leaving the world a better place to live. As a global leader in the coffee restaurant business,
the size of Starbucks and its activities mean that it wields a lot of power in its areas of operation and
its activities can affect societies directly and indirectly. The company s mission, vision, and objectives
guides the company s quest for sustainability and supports the corporate social responsibility activities
and programs that Starbucks undertakes.
Starbucks sustainability and corporate social responsibility is focused on three key areas, which
include community, ethical sourcing and the environment. At the community level, the company
understands that its activities have the capacity to influence positively or negatively on the lives of the
communities where it has its activities, whether at the retail level, or at the raw material production
level of farmers. At the community level, the company strives to ensure better lives for the people
through education support program, bringing people together and providing employment opportunities
for people of all ages. These activities are important in supporting and making a difference in people s

America s Illicit Drug Networks And The State Reaction
After reading Mexico s Illicit Drug Networks and the State Reaction, I have concluded that this short
read is highly informative and intriguing. I personally was drawn in by the horrific stories of violence,
kidnapping, and mass murders of deadly encounters, and fascinated by learning how the state planned
and responded. Author Nathan Jones, is able to illustrate why Mexican drug cartels have been able to
prolong existence while under attack by Mexico and the United States. He is able to do so by
examining and comparing two types of illicit drug networks and how they provoke different state
reactions based on their business strategy. Jones relates his discoveries to the Arellano Felix
Organization because it was one of the first Mexican cartel to be targeted by the state and split along
trafficking oriented and territorial lines [where] one survived and one did not (p. 12). This read is
significant because it allows for the government to better distinguish between drug networks that will
withstand the test of time, and those that will crumble under pressure. Jones utilizes his findings and
applied it to the novel, and the current drug prohibition program. Jones applied a combination of
various fieldwork methods in order to gather the data displayed in the book. He states how in addition
to extensively researching archival court documents, media and government reports, [he] conducted
an academic year of fieldwork in Mexico City and Tijuana while building [his] historical

She Walks In Beauty Apostrophe To The Ocean And Don Byron...
Passionate is Key (An Analysis of Lord Byron s Three Poems) Lord Byron, a romantic author from
the 18th century was a man who was considered as a player , a man who was always with multiple
women. In his lifetime Byron wrote many stories, three of those stories were, She Walks In Beauty,
Apostrophe To The Ocean, and Don Juan. In those three stories Lord Byron indicates very important
messages for each. The story She Walks in Beauty is a story that describes the perfect girl to Lord
Byron. Byron is very passionate about woman and describes in his eyes what the perfect woman
would look like. It tells us what is important to guys, the appearance of a woman, what they notice
first. In the story Byron states She walks in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies
(line1 2). That line is stating that when a woman walks in, the man first notices how she walks, and
that she looks mysterious. The way a woman carries herself is very important. It s good to be
confident, a woman who is confident in herself shows it in the way she walks and carries herself.
Byron makes it a point at the end of the story that his girl has to be innocent. He states A mind at
peace with all below, a heart whose love is innocent (line 17 18). In other words byron is like a tiger,
he is experienced. He likes girls who are like lambs, innocent, young, and simple. Just like the girl he
describes in She Walks In Beauty. Not only is Byron passionate about woman he is also passionate

However, what it really suggests is that a woman isn t worth listening to if her sexuality isn t involved.
Once Nancy reaches Billy s hideout, other women are more than happy to assist him in raping her. It is
later revealed that all of these other women were also once raped by Billy but have now they

Uses And Techniques Of A Brake
INTRODUCTION
A brake is a mechanical gadget which represses movement, moderating or ceasing a moving question
or keeping its movement. Most generally brakes use contact between two surfaces squeezed together
to change over the dynamic energy of the moving object into warmth, however different techniques
for vitality transformation may be utilized. For example regenerative braking changes over a great part
of the vitality to electrical vitality, which may be put away for later utilize. Different techniques
change over dynamic vitality into potential vitality in such put away structures as pressurized air or
pressurized oil. Vortex current brakes use attractive fields to change over dynamic vitality into electric
current in the brake circle, balance, or rail, which is changed over into warmth. Still other braking
strategies even change active vitality into diverse structures, for instance by exchanging the vitality to
a pivoting flywheel.

Violence And The Second Intifada
CHAPTER 4 Violence and the Second Intifada
The second or al Aqsa intifada began the day after Ariel Sharon s visit to the Dome of the Rock or al

were fired upon, sparking the ongoing uprising. This intifada differed from the first. While the first
intifada was democratic, involving widespread participation, was secular, basically non violent, and
contributed to peace efforts, this intifada was characterized by participation of a few, the use of
violence against civilians and military alike, and widespread religious idioms. It decreased allies of the

It also indicates that they are changing their ideology to align more effectively with contemporary

would be only mentioned in passing, then it is very worthwhile to the Palestinian cause to use women
to facilitate as much publicity and promotion of political goals as possible. Bloom maintains that this
is a political war, not a religious war, and the suicide bombings are being carefully planned and
executed as part of a precise political strategy. The usage of women is a definite part of this strategy,

Where there is little or no public opinion, there is likely to be bad government, which sooner or later
becomes autocratic government (William Lyon Mackenzie King). In 1793, Maximilien Robespierre,
head of the Committee of Public Safety, took over the unmanned French government. His ruling
consisted of killing anyone that thought of enlightenment ideals or ill of him. Running as a dictator for

when civilians didn t agree with his ideas, he simply killed them, which is inhumane and unjustified in
almost any case. Killing people doesn t solve any problems as more people will take their place.
Robespierre didn t understand the gruesome immorality of killing as 16,000 people were guillotined

Factors That Affect The Health Care Industry
High turnover in any industry can be a worry, particularly to those that are client driven.
Establishments with high demand you must think about how the client, will benefit as well as how to
care for patients with general experience. Many people are okay with staying at an entry level job; but
many aren t. Not staying at an entry level job may be due to the pay or it may be that they believe they
can do a lot more with themselves. Caregivers have this thought all too much, some want to get
certified as a CNA. The training is not too long and can better them at their skill, as well as raise their
pay rate just by getting certified. Caregivers are at high demand. But the constant struggle to retain
quality caregivers is negatively impacting the health care industry. Direct care workers, nurse aides,
home health aides, and personal and home care aides they are all the same but are named differently.
They are the primary providers of paid hands on care for more than 13 million elderly and disabled
Americans. Although direct care workers constitute one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of
the workforce, there is a shortage of these workers in every community throughout the United States.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act strengthens the investment in direct care work by
authorizing several new initiatives aimed at improving the quality of direct care jobs, workforce
development, and long term care. Today s direct care workers must have the strength to care

Slim Fast Offers False Hope to Young Girls
The popular weight loss shake SlimFast has created a false perception in young adolescent girls that
may be impossible to achieve. The company website market approach states
Are you ready for this? Together we are going to help you lose up to six pounds in the next two weeks.
So dust off those skinny jeans and polish off those stilettos because you are going to look great and
feel even better . provides unrealistically thin ideal type of beauty which might cause the normal
average weight adolescent girls to feel less confident and more dissatisfied with their appearance. The
advertisers push their solution SlimFast on potentially overweight adolescent s females as they aware
of their role; their need to feel beautiful, their insecurities and anxieties about weight. According to the
Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, sociocultural norms for ideal appearance lead women to
base their self worth more strongly on appearance than on character. (Insert Referencing). The
advertising suggests once you lose weight wearing tight jeans and sporting high heels will make you
look great. Reading this, young adolescent females may feel the need to compare how they look
against the message being convened and perceive themselves as not measuring up to the standards.
Thus, confirming some adolescents measure their self esteem based on outer beauty not on inner
beauty; how smart, nice, friendly or funny they are. As adolescents use the computers on a daily basis

A Comparison Of The 1991 Gulf War
In order to facilitate the discussion of newspapers framing of the recent US military strike in Syria, it
is necessary to look at similar foreign policy event news coverage of the 1991 Gulf War that serves as
a reference to compare the news frames in both stories. To the contrary of Ivengar s findings,
according to which television news coverage of the Gulf War of 1991 was heavily episodic oriented
(more than 75 percentage), the study in this paper has found that more than half of the examined
newspaper articles (56 percent in The New York Times and 59 percent in the USA Today) about the
US military strike in Syria consist of a thematic frame.
There are several possible explanations for the difference in the news framing of two ... Show more

Given these circumstances, television news outlets were unable to produce war footage and broadcast
them in their 24 hours news cycles while print journalists have to relied even more on thematic
framing in their coverage.
Thirdly and related to former point, the two US military interventions differ in size, scope, form and
length of time. While the military operation to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation in 1991
consisted of extensive military preparations and the invasion of a foreign country, the missile strike
against a Syrian regime airfield was a an operation of a few hours, using only unmanned cruise missile
against a single target. As a result, there was simply not enough time to assign correspondents to the
ground, who often tend frame events in wars episodically. More generally, perhaps due to the lack of
access to the ground operations, journalists, particularly those working for newspaper, were able to
cover this foreign policy event predominately thematic as opposed to the first Gulf War.
The difference in the media alone cannot account for the large number of thematic oriented articles in
both newspapers about the US missile strike on Syria. Many articles extended their thematic coverage
to topics such as the fight against ISIS, the complexity of shifting alliances within the fractured armed
opposition in Syria and the involvement other states and actors

Family Genogram is Similar to the Family Tree
Family Genogram
A genogram is a tool similar to a family tree that is used to track family history and family
relationships. Genograms contain basic information such as: names, genders, birth/death dates,
illnesses, social behaviors, achievements, education, family relationships, social relationships and
emotional relationships (Genogram Guide, 2009). This paper will summarize finding after completing
a three generation genogram of this author s family history beginning with the maternal (Johnson) and
paternal (West) grandparents. The general traits that were analyzed was the family relationships, social
disorders and medical issues associated with the family.
Medical Issues
The Johnson and West family health issues is mainly hypertension or high blood pressure (HBP) for
both male and female. An individual with a blood pressure of 140/90 or greater is considered elevated.
It is believed by the second generation, which consist of this author s mother and mother s siblings,
that hypertension was inherited from the first generation. The first generation consist of this author s
paternal and maternal grandparents. The third generation consist of this author plus this author s aunts
and uncles children. The third generation tend to be in better health than the first and second
generation. The third general do not have any high blood pressure problems. Several of the men and
women of the second generation are obese. Obesity is a factor that can cause HBP. Increased

Bible Vs Christian New Testament
Before I read this chapter I had absolutely no idea that the Jewish religion had their own bible. The
main differences that I came across after reading and doing research are the number of books, the
arrangement of the books, the primary language that the Bibles are read or studied in, the content of
the two Bibles, and the importance that is given to the oral and the written traditions in making of the
two holy books. The word Bible comes from the Greek word biblia which means books and both
religions call their religious scripture Bible (Frigge 1). Judaism dates back to the 2nd century BCE and
the Jewish Bible is called Tanakh. It consists of 24 books which are in Hebrew and Armanic (Hayes

What Is The Theme Of The Crying Of Lot 49
The Crying of Lot 49 is a 1966 novella written by Thomas Pynchon amidst the spike in social and
political turbulence in the United States of America. The 1960s saw the rise of drug culture, the
Vietnam War, John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King s assassination, the massive rise of the Civil
Rights fight and many other milestone events. Pynchon s novella carries the perceptive sense of chaos,
quite possibly influenced by two things: one, the decade that he was living and writing in and two, that
this was one of his earliest novels. The text explores the consequences of decisions, illusions and
conspiracies all taken on by the protagonist Oedipa Maas.
One of the main themes of the short piece is communication. This is explored greatly in the ... Show

The Crying of Lot 49 lives up to it s satirical nature in mocking Fallopian and later many other
radicals to signify the extremist nature of real life character s facades in the 1960s. By making such a
political statement, Pynchon could be making a reference to the 1964 elections in which the
Democrats snatched all the votes from Congress from right up under them. Chapter 3 is also very
important as it serves as our first introduction to the evasive Tristero . Oedipa goes in to watch the
production of The Courier s Tragedy thinking of bones, hears the word Tristero , and comes out
thinking only of the word. She herself later realizes this. It is possible that the bones could have been
another red herring to throw us off the plot. This novella seems to be entirely made up of red

Pi s Lifeboat
In the novel, The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, the lifeboat is a transformative image that alters and
somewhat controls which path Pi goes down. Throughout the novel, the meaning of the lifeboat
transforms. At first, the lifeboat acts as a zoo/ prison. It is the vessel from which Pi cannot escape, the
object that he cannot run from. He has no freedom on this boat, and if he leaves, certain death is
inevitable. However, as the storyline progresses, the boat becomes more of a saving grace. In the end,
when Pi arrives on land, it is the boat that carried him for 227 days and the only reason he lived to tell
the tale. Without the lifeboat, he would have died on the Tsimtsum with the rest of his family on the
day of the shipwreck. The symbolic meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While on the raft, he says that, I started thinking seriously about how I was going to deal with Richard
Parker... I needed safe access to the locker and the top of the tarpaulin, no matter the time of day or the
weather, no matter his mood. It was rights I needed, the sort of rights that come with might. It was
time to impose myself and carve out my territory. (202)
His need for the supplies on the lifeboat are what cause him to decide to try and train Richard Parker.
Without his need for the lifeboat, he never would have chose to do something so dangerous and with
such low odds of succeeding. Later on while training the tiger, Pi says my behavior was not an act of
insanity or a covert suicide attempt, but a simple necessity. Either I tamed him, made him see who was
Number One and who was Number Two or I died the day I wanted to climb aboard the lifeboat during
rough weather and he objected (206). He reinforces the idea that to train Richard Parker is a necessity
and that his need for the boat overwhelms his fear or the tiger. Later on in the same instance during Pi
s training of the tiger, he tells of how the wild animal would make a point by knocking him off of the
boat with one swipe of it s paw. He describes his retaliation by saying, Then I made my point, feet on

The Clinical Experience Of Intern At Multiple Sites
This is the last semester of my radiologic sciences bachelor program. Throughout the many months,
there have been countless situations which prompted me to form and execute decisions which have led
to a patient s well being. Although this is a subjective statement, I genuinely believe that I was able to
impact many of my patients in a positive fashion. From experience it seemed that patients understood
my intention and allowed themselves to trust me. The clinical experience this program has entailed is
outstanding in respect to the other programs. I was given the opportunity to intern at multiple sites
ranging from Santa Clarita to East LA to Santa Monica. With that being said, the demographics in
these areas are so different and allowed me to adjust to various ethnic and social groups. The
following examples are situations, which occurred throughout my final fall semester. During my one
week rescheduling at Olive View, I was given a requisition for a chest x ray. Although at first glance it
seemed like a normal two view chest x ray on a middle aged woman with a possible indication for
tuberculosis (TB) due to a positive quantiFERON. Upon arriving and calling the patients name out, I
immediately noticed that she was pregnant. I asked her why she needed to get an x ray and responded
by letting me know that she was going to have her baby soon and the doctors wanted to make sure an
active form of TB was not present. I continued with the exam and placed a lead apron shield on

In order to complete the experiment the values for Kp were needed as shown at the end of the previous
section. The method of simplify the block diagram in section 1.2 to the final transfer function equation
is shown below:
Ts= KpKmKθτS+1s+KpKmKθ
Then by substituting in values for Km, Kθ and τ, gives:

Essay On Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
For the past 50 years acute respiratory distress syndrome or better known as ARDS, has been an issue
in hospital intensive care units all around the world. The first documented published scientific
description dates back to 1821 when Laennec described the gross pathology of the heart and lungs and
described idiopathic anasarca of the lungs; pulmonary edema without heart failure in a treatise on
diseases of the chest. 1 Cardiac and non cardiac issues were not taken into consideration as part of the
cause at that time. The first definition dates back to Ashbaugh and colleagues in 1967.2 Though
modern medicine has been around for hundreds of years, it wasn t until hospitals designed intensive
care units and began using mechanical ventilation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though many advances were made multiple research done, in 2012 the medical community once
again got together. An expert panel agreed that ARDS is a type of acute diffuse, inflammatory lung
injury, leading to increased pulmonary vascular permeability, increased lung weight, and loss of
aerated lung tissue. The clinical hallmarks are hypoxemia and bilateral radiographic opacities,
associated with increased venous admixture, increased physiological dead space, and decreased lung
compliance. The morphological hallmark of the acute phase is diffuse alveolar damage (ie, edema,
inflammation, hyaline membrane, or hemorrhage). 3 It was at this conference that the Berlin definition
was put into existence. Though it is to note that most research to date has been done using the AECC
definition, the Berlin definition removed what was known as acute lung injury. Under the new Berlin
definition patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 200 300 while on a PEEP of +5 would now be classified
as mild ARDS, while patients with a PaO2/FiO2 ratio of 100 200 would be classified as moderate
anything under 100 would be classified as severe. With pulmonary capillary wedged pressures under
18mm HG. The Berlin definition defined acute stating that the maximum period between risk factor

In this example the table shows where an employer was asked to hire more employees in order to
cover 100 departments with 30 different areas. Each new employee would work in areas 1, 2, and 3.
The area assigned to the employee would be determined by the employer him/herself. The table above
givens an example of how it will go. Then the overall question would be how the assigned areas
would be split up.
When it comes to converting the table above into a graph to the answer, I am at a little bit of a loss.
The employee numbers 1, 2, and 3 would then be converted into vertices D1, D2, and D3 and the
different areas into A1, A2, and A3 which is shown in the diagram below: In the diagram you have to
replace the S s with D s and the C s with the A s.
I believe the assigned areas would be given to the employees by the employer. An employer would be
assign to an employee by random. The employee would follow the employer s number through the
graph. This would start in area 1 and continue on through 3. If you have 100 employers and 30
employees they would be assigned in areas as 34, 33, and 33 this would allow all areas to be covered

In today s societies every member of society connected with others. They affect each other with their

persuading them. Robert Cialdini shows us how important the persuasion in our relationships.
Persuasion is inducing someone to do something through reasoning or argument. In his book,
Influence: The psychology of persuasion, he indicates that our decision making depends on shortcuts
and fast decisions more than critical thinking with considering all information. He identified these six
shortcuts as Reciprocity, Scarcity, Authority, Consistency, Social Proof and Liking. In the case study,

Almost our all communications with others include these tactics but they are hard to detect because
they are a natural part of relations. In these relations sometimes we are the side that tries to persuade
others and sometimes reverse. Any people can give you a memory any of this two side. As a memory
of being persuaded I had a remarkable memory. It was my first day in Istanbul and I was very excited
about it. I came to Istanbul with the bus because all planes were full. When I came to the bus station I
saw plenty of sellers who were annoyingly insistent. My goal was going to metro station without
stopping to talk to them because I knew that I would try hard to sell me something if I stop.
Unfortunately, I could not reach my goal and one of these sellers stopped me. He said that he sells
original perfumes and his perfumes are export surpluses this is why they are so cheap. He asked my
homeland and he said he is from there too which I am very sure that is a lie. Also, he said that he had
only three perfumes to sell so it was my last chance to buy one. It was very annoying and I bought one
perfume because I want to get rid of him. Or at least I thought that way. After reading Cialdini s book
and his persuasion tactics I realize that the seller used these tactics on me very masterly even though
he seems uneducated. Even though I thought that I bought that perfume to get rid of him, I can see

Asl And The American Sign Language
American Sign Language is the interesting, logical, and fun to learn. ASL is the fourth most used
languages in the United States. ASL is used for hearing people to get the messages across to Deaf
people and Deaf community. Deaf people use American Sign Language to communicate with their
friends, family or their loved one who is deaf. Now parents are teaching their babies to learn ASL. The
American Sign Language gives children, their confidence, and self esteem in their lives. Deaf
Community vs. Hard of hearing is a different point of view, and their impact was to have opportunities
to have new friendships, connection to other people in the hard of hearing community and to be able
to talk with hard of hearing people easier.
The hard of hearing or non signer could be friends with deaf people by using American Sign
Language. The deaf people, hard of hearing and hearing people interact with each other in American
Sign Language. The most of the deaf people are usually comfortable communicating with hearing
people and people are happy that the hearing people are attempted using American Sign Language to
communicate and instead ignoring them. American Sign Language has overcome the communication
barrier for hard of hearing, hearing people, infants, toddlers and elderly grandparents who could not
hear. American Sign Language is a visual language, for example, the facial expression, body
movements and hand gesture. The deaf people priority was in person interacting and eye contacts

The Dutchman By Leroi Jones
Race and Racism
Race and racism have been around since mankind made its first steps on the planet and it has brought
upon violence, submissiveness, cruelty, and sexism into the world. A great representation of these
themes and issues was brought by LeRoi Jones, who wrote The Dutchman . The play itself is a great
representation of the relationships of races in America during the 60 s and can even been connected to
today s society. The Dutchman mainly focuses on the black white relationship but can also be drawn
to other cultures and races. I, myself, can also relate to what LeRoi Jones wrote in one way or another.

the only way she can silence him is by murdering him and that is exactly what she does.
The white Lula is a thirty year old femme female who alternately seduces and insults Clay as she

Richard Cory Analysis Essay
In Edwin Robinson s Richard Cory, one major theme is envy. I struggle as a person with envying
others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced
the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more,
a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to
their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is
through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the
envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it
nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was
everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. These villagers envy Richard Cory, who they
laud like a king even though he is no greater than them, only in wealth. Everyone has envied another

The entire poem displays an ironic theme, but it first becomes apparent in the second stanza. The first
stanza Cory is described as a gentleman from sole to crown, / Clean favored and imperially slim, (line

these villagers. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And
he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior
verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of
it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself.
The villagers wanted to be in this rich man s position, but did not realize that he also had struggles
even though he had money, that did not make his life

A Marxist Approach On Social Classes
stratification is brought forth by Domhoff and it supports the idea that social classes themselves have
hierarchical layers determined status, power, and prestige. The critiques would most likely support the
idea of pluralism and that each group is represented in political institutions, but that s just not the case
in practical manners. A Marxist approach would argue that power is never not socially organized. The
reason why power matters is that power by Marxist definition, is the ability to force someone to
complete any action that goes against their best wishes and/or free will. Marx would also argue that
the state is not neutral, like the pluralists believe, but rather the state represents the elite s class
interest. Marx would also argue that the elitist seek to preserve themselves within the governmental
structure. Basically, Marx doesn t support that the government is neutral and that pluralist are correct.
His theories align with the Power Elite Theory by Wright Mills, but Marx would follow up solutions
to wealth inequality with a change in the state s systematic role or roles in society.

A Historical Movie Need Not Be 100% True Essay
Advanced information technology is widely used in the millennium age. History is can be reprinted, re
edited and re presented (Chan, 2013). Relatively, history can be shown in a more realistic way than
before. Audience can spend few hours to have a brief understanding of history. However, I think the
motivation of making historical movie is not merely for education but consists of other reasons.
Seediq Bale will be taken as an example for elaboration. Firstly, the movie is a review of modern
value. There is a comparison between civilized (Japanese) and uncivilized (Indigenous people).
Modern education tells me civilization is an indispensible element for human evolution. It is a symbol
of superiority. Indigenous people who are illiterate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It depreciates indigenous people. Indigenous people cannot receive fair treatment even they are better
than Japanese. Indigenous women are not respected. They need to drink with Japanese. Government
does not help them when they are raped. Money is not need in the world of indigenous people but
civilization introduces money which makes indigenous people become the poor as they do not have
money originally. Civilization introduces development so that the home of indigenous people is
mined. Their resources are deprived. Civilization introduces secularization so that traditions and
customs are prohibited. Their belief is not respected (Wei, 2011). These are different with my
understanding of civilization which is contributive and inclusive. In addition, Mona Rudo mentioned
he had visited Japan. Japanese deliberately arrange him to have dinner with his enemies to make the
atmosphere nervous. He keeps kind to Japanese when there is conflicts between Japanese and
indigenous people. But Japanese never say thank you to him. Conversely, Japanese always threat him
(Wei, 2011). This reflects Japanese civilization does not respect indigenous people. It also consists of
conspiracy. Things shown from the movie are very realistic. We are easy to misunderstand that these
are 100% true. Usually, there is a difference between projection and reality. In Seediq Bale, Mona
Rudo is a hero. His image is positive. In reality, he had cooperated with Japanese. He

Computer Simulation Software Based On Over The Counter (...
PharmaSim Final Report PharmaSim is computer simulation software based on over the counter
(OTC) cold medicine industry. It offers students interesting and different formats in which to learn
about marketing. The purpose of this exercise, for Team D, is to learn about marketing management
and decision making in a dynamic and highly competitive (saturated) business environment in which
students are tasked with making critical marketing decisions over a 7 year period; the PharmaSim
simulation program consisted of different marketing periods (seven) in which students perform the
duties of the marketing management team at the over the counter cold medicine (OCM) group of
Allstar Brands. Allstar brands Allround®, a global manufacturing leader of packaged goods since the
mid 1920 s, is currently the market leader in OTC cold remedies though, not making the most revenue
on it. The simulation of decision making for Allround® provides students with the following: 1)
experience in working with all of the concepts and tools that have been introduced in the course, 2)
reinforced understanding of importance of need to shape marketing decisions so that they are both
internally and externally consistent, and 3) real world demonstration, in a way the lectures cannot
replicate, of the complexities involved with marketing management. As will be discussed below, we
experienced highs and lows as new marketing management decision makers. We maneuvered and
made decisions surrounding

  • 2. Summary Of Love Stories By Inhorn I think the most significant point is to understand that what we hear from the media and other sources of news about the culture of the Middle East and notions like polygamy, arranged marriage, and lack of romantic love between couples is exaggerated and sometimes not true. Inhorn in the article Love Stories explains a case of a Syrian couple who have to travel to Beirut to receive an egg donation. The couple have been married for 17 years, but they were unable to have children because the wife is infertile. Egg donation is against their religion, and they have not told their families about it. Although the husband, Hatam, has been under pressure by his family to divorce his wife, or marry a second wife, he refuses because he loves his wife. Inhorn uses this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, marriage and having a family is an important notion in Middle East, and according to her 95% of people in the Middle East marry at least once. Because of the importance of this concept in the Middle East not only men love their wife, they also so their best to keep them happy. She argues that arranged marriage is not a form of forced marriage, in fact it is based on the fact that couples would develop companionship and romantic love over time. In addition, she debates that polygamy, which is also another issue targeted by West, is not prevalent in the Middle East and only 5% of the population practice polygamy. These are all important features that show the traditions of the Middle East are changing. Although the couple, Hatam Huda, are both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Changes on the Home Front in the United States and England... The Home Front during World War II was the essential backbone of the military campaign that was being waged in Europe and the Pacific. In order to ensure the success of the war the Home Front needed to not only ensure its own survival but also the survival of the forces that were engaged in combat. The Home Front of both the United States and England were similar in their practices of supporting the war, but because of the advantages of the united states being isolated from the fighting and being a land of plentiful recourses, and England being apart of an island nation extremely close to the fighting, England had much more difficult position and their Home Front was under a much more immediate threat. Both Home Fronts experienced hardships and dramatic changes in their society as they were forced to adapt to a wartime economy, they were also forced to adapt to social changes and a whole new society and way of life for the duration of the war that would also change the future of both the United States and England. England being separated by only the English Channel had much more to deal with than just a harsh restricted economy they also had to deal with the immediate threat of could come from the European mainland. So England needed to mobilize its Home Front and this was done so in many ways to inspire the necessary changes to help protect its citizens. The British media and entertainment was essentially an extension of the war cabinet in raising public morale. The threat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Genetic Transformation Genetic transformation is when an organism is given genes that it is able to express from the foreign DNA (Weedman 111). Genetic transformation is used widely today, especially in agriculture where organisms are genetically altered to meet the food demands from corns color to squash size. When transferring genes you need a competent cell which is the cell that is going to express the foreign DNA (Weedman 111). There are three ways to transfer DNA, transformation where the competent cell takes DNA from the surrounding environment, conjugation where two bacteria join and transfer DNA, and then there is transduction where virus or vector carries DNA from a foreign organism to another (hammiverse.com...na). In our experiment we used transduction, using a vector. There are three ways to make the competent cell permeable. • 6. The Highest Amount Of Gun Control Laws Daniel Danzo Research Paper America has the highest amount of gun related deaths each year in the world. In Germany 381, in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39 and in the United States, 11,127 (Moore Michael, 51:15 51:48). Since the United States has the highest number of deaths, it is important to have gun control laws that restrict people from owning dangerous firearms like machine guns. Gun control laws should support both sides of the debate. Of course, both sides will not be completely happy with the laws created, but America should have a balance. In 2008, a poll was taken stating: Adult poll respondents views on the meaning of the Second Amendment; An individual s right to bear arms: Republican 51% and Democrats 41% (The History of the Right to Bear Arms). Today, the United States is more divided on gun control than it has ever been. The Second Amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (Milestones in Federal Gun Control Legislation). Unless the Second Amendment is changed, we cannot take the right from others to own guns. Anti psychotic medication works by binding to a specific receptor in the brain, known as dopamine receptor D2 (Kapur, 2000). By blocking this receptor, symptoms of psychosis are controlled. As symptoms of stimulant psychosis are very similar to the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, anti psychotic medication is the preferred medication to treat affected individuals. Two types of anti psychotic medications have been developed, typical and atypical. Typical anti psychotics have a high potency and high affinity to D2 receptors, however this can cause extrapyramidal effects and Parkinsonism (Golan Tashjian, 2012). Atypical anti psychotics have a lower potency and low affinity to D2 receptors and less side effects. Therefore, anti psychotic medication must block an appropriate amount of D2 receptors as a deficiency of dopamine can cause extrapyramidal effects and even worsen the negative symptoms whereas an excess results in psychosis. I personally was drawn in by the horrific stories of violence, kidnapping, and mass murders of deadly encounters, and fascinated by learning how the state planned and responded. Author Nathan Jones, is able to illustrate why Mexican drug cartels have been able to prolong existence while under attack by Mexico and the United States. Jones relates his discoveries to the Arellano Felix Organization because it was one of the first Mexican cartel to be targeted by the state and split along trafficking oriented and territorial lines [where] one survived and one did not (p. 12). This read is significant because it allows for the government to better distinguish between drug networks that will withstand the test of time, and those that will crumble under pressure. The main differences that I came across after reading and doing research are the number of books, the arrangement of the books, the primary language that the Bibles are read or studied in, the content of the two Bibles, and the importance that is given to the oral and the written traditions in making of the two holy books. The word Bible comes from the Greek word biblia which means books and both religions call their religious scripture Bible (Frigge 1). Judaism dates back to the 2nd century BCE and the Jewish Bible is called Tanakh. It consists of 24 books which are in Hebrew and Armanic (Hayes 3). It is divided into three parts, the ... • 27. What Is The Theme Of The Crying Of Lot 49 The Crying of Lot 49 is a 1966 novella written by Thomas Pynchon amidst the spike in social and political turbulence in the United States of America. The 1960s saw the rise of drug culture, the Vietnam War, John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King s assassination, the massive rise of the Civil Rights fight and many other milestone events. Pynchon s novella carries the perceptive sense of chaos, quite possibly influenced by two things: one, the decade that he was living and writing in and two, that this was one of his earliest novels. The text explores the consequences of decisions, illusions and conspiracies all taken on by the protagonist Oedipa Maas. One of the main themes of the short piece is communication. The Crying of Lot 49 lives up to it s satirical nature in mocking Fallopian and later many other radicals to signify the extremist nature of real life character s facades in the 1960s. By making such a political statement, Pynchon could be making a reference to the 1964 elections in which the Democrats snatched all the votes from Congress from right up under them. Chapter 3 is also very important as it serves as our first introduction to the evasive Tristero . Oedipa goes in to watch the production of The Courier s Tragedy thinking of bones, hears the word Tristero , and comes out thinking only of the word. She herself later realizes this. • 28. Pi s Lifeboat In the novel, The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, the lifeboat is a transformative image that alters and somewhat controls which path Pi goes down. Throughout the novel, the meaning of the lifeboat transforms. At first, the lifeboat acts as a zoo/ prison. It is the vessel from which Pi cannot escape, the object that he cannot run from. He has no freedom on this boat, and if he leaves, certain death is inevitable. However, as the storyline progresses, the boat becomes more of a saving grace. In the end, when Pi arrives on land, it is the boat that carried him for 227 days and the only reason he lived to tell the tale. Without the lifeboat, he would have died on the Tsimtsum with the rest of his family on the day of the shipwreck. The symbolic meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I needed safe access to the locker and the top of the tarpaulin, no matter the time of day or the weather, no matter his mood. It was rights I needed, the sort of rights that come with might. It was time to impose myself and carve out my territory. (202) His need for the supplies on the lifeboat are what cause him to decide to try and train Richard Parker. Without his need for the lifeboat, he never would have chose to do something so dangerous and with such low odds of succeeding. Later on while training the tiger, Pi says my behavior was not an act of insanity or a covert suicide attempt, but a simple necessity. Either I tamed him, made him see who was Number One and who was Number Two or I died the day I wanted to climb aboard the lifeboat during rough weather and he objected (206). He reinforces the idea that to train Richard Parker is a necessity and that his need for the boat overwhelms his fear or the tiger. Later on in the same instance during Pi s training of the tiger, he tells of how the wild animal would make a point by knocking him off of the boat with one swipe of it s paw. Throughout the many months, there have been countless situations which prompted me to form and execute decisions which have led to a patient s well being. Although this is a subjective statement, I genuinely believe that I was able to impact many of my patients in a positive fashion. From experience it seemed that patients understood my intention and allowed themselves to trust me. The clinical experience this program has entailed is outstanding in respect to the other programs. The first documented published scientific description dates back to 1821 when Laennec described the gross pathology of the heart and lungs and described idiopathic anasarca of the lungs; pulmonary edema without heart failure in a treatise on diseases of the chest. 1 Cardiac and non cardiac issues were not taken into consideration as part of the cause at that time. An expert panel agreed that ARDS is a type of acute diffuse, inflammatory lung injury, leading to increased pulmonary vascular permeability, increased lung weight, and loss of aerated lung tissue. The clinical hallmarks are hypoxemia and bilateral radiographic opacities, associated with increased venous admixture, increased physiological dead space, and decreased lung compliance. The morphological hallmark of the acute phase is diffuse alveolar damage (ie, edema, inflammation, hyaline membrane, or hemorrhage). 3 It was at this conference that the Berlin definition was put into existence. The employee numbers 1, 2, and 3 would then be converted into vertices D1, D2, and D3 and the different areas into A1, A2, and A3 which is shown in the diagram below: In the diagram you have to replace the S s with D s and the C s with the A s. I believe the assigned areas would be given to the employees by the employer. An employer would be assign to an employee by random. The employee would follow the employer s number through the graph. My goal was going to metro station without stopping to talk to them because I knew that I would try hard to sell me something if I stop. I struggle as a person with envying others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more, a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself. A Marxist Approach On Social Classes stratification is brought forth by Domhoff and it supports the idea that social classes themselves have hierarchical layers determined status, power, and prestige. The critiques would most likely support the idea of pluralism and that each group is represented in political institutions, but that s just not the case in practical manners. A Marxist approach would argue that power is never not socially organized. The reason why power matters is that power by Marxist definition, is the ability to force someone to complete any action that goes against their best wishes and/or free will. Marx would also argue that the state is not neutral, like the pluralists believe, but rather the state represents the elite s class interest. Marx would also argue that the elitist seek to preserve themselves within the governmental structure. Basically, Marx doesn t support that the government is neutral and that pluralist are correct. His theories align with the Power Elite Theory by Wright Mills, but Marx would follow up solutions to wealth inequality with a change in the state s systematic role or roles in society. Relatively, history can be shown in a more realistic way than before. Audience can spend few hours to have a brief understanding of history. However, I think the motivation of making historical movie is not merely for education but consists of other reasons. Seediq Bale will be taken as an example for elaboration. Civilization introduces development so that the home of indigenous people is mined. Their resources are deprived. Civilization introduces secularization so that traditions and customs are prohibited.
