Comparing Ophelia And Hamlet
If Only He was as Great as Her
Often times, a tragedy can bring two people together, especially lovers, yet, sometimes, it can drive
them apart. Both of them can become mad, one can become mad and not the other, or they can
become mad in two totally different ways. When tragedy strikes in Hamlet, Ophelia and Hamlet
deal with it very differently. Despite the obvious tragedies that group them together, Ophelia and
Hamlet are nothing alike at all, characteristically. In fact, Ophelia is the female version of the man
Hamlet should become because she is active and determined, transgressing her pre determined role
as a naГЇve woman.
Before one can discuss Ophelia s activeness, one must focus on Hamlet inactiveness, and why

Ophelia would have never handed out flowers with obvious intentions had her father not died.
Nevertheless, the main characters of Hamlet dismiss her advances toward them. Even though the
characters of Hamlet dismiss Ophelia s madness, her madness directly affects them. Her action
leads to others actions. Her suicide leads to the direct duel between Laertes and Hamlet, which
leads to the impending doom of the whole court. Ophelia s deliberate actions in her madness
accomplish so many things, unlike Hamlet s

Themes Of Fever 1793
Fever, 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson is about how yellow fever spread through Philadelphia
and caused many people to die and suffer. These are the themes for Fever 1793. The themes are
overcoming hardship, family, and suffering. I say that these are the themes because I have the
evidence. I have evidence for family on how Mattie tried to help her sick family. I have evidence
for how the second theme is overcoming hardship on how they overcame being sick. Finally I
have evidence on how the third theme is suffering because how the sick people suffered. The first
main theme of Fever 1793is family. The first piece of evidence is that Mattie was so emotionally
attached to mother that she wanted to help but they wouldn t let her.

The Pros And Cons Of Sugary Food
Sugar is a good ingredient for cooking, however, sugary foods can bring a lot of negative
influences to the human body, such as obesity, so this essay will introduce some knowledge about
negative externalities, government measures and the effects of excessive consumption of sugary
foods. Meanwhile, it will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the imposition of tax and
compare it to alternative solutions.
Externality is a kind of market failure that all allocation of goods and services is not efficient.
Externalities is effects of activities on outside third parties, which is also called Spillover Effect .
It will occur when there is a difference between social costs or benefits and private costs or
benefits. Positive externality represents by benefits, so if social benefit is greater than private
benefits, there will be a positive externality. For instance, inoculation and education. In contrast,
negative externality represents by the costs, so if social costs are greater than private costs, there
will be a negative externality. For instance, pollution, traffic congestion and obesity.... Show more

Regulation means that the government sets rules to make it more difficult for firms to produce, for
example, quantity restriction. If companies do not follow the regulation, they have to pay penalty.
Permits means that the government can set a maximum allowed amount, and then it will issue
permits to each firm. Firms can gain by reducing production or using cleaner methods to reduce
pollution because permits can be traded and firms cannot exceed permitted amount. Tax is also a
good way to remedy negative externalities. The government use tax to control the price, meanwhile
to reduce the consumption. In most cases, tax rates of those externalities should equal to the value
of the externality. (Alain Anderton.,

T. V TV Show
Friends Forever
Back when I was still in high school, whenever the clock turned eleven p.m., my brother and I
immediately turn the television to channel 5 to watch the rerun of our all time favorite T.V. sitcom,
Friends. This was when we use the time to sit back and relax with the show s hilarious and funny
moment.
On September 22, 1994, NBC debuted a brand new sitcom about the life of six friends living in
New York City, with the creators, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, never expecting it to become
such a huge and phenomenal success. The show started off with Rachel Green, played by Jennifer
Anniston, as a run away bride who came into the city looking for help from her old high school
friends, Monica Geller, portrayed by Courtney Cox. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Yes, it is a sitcom so the main focus is to bring laughter to the viewers. However, if it want to
stick with the audiences and be remember long after the show is over, it need to touch the
viewers heart, and that s is exactly what the show did. There are so many moments to choose
from, ranging from Phoebe saying goodbye to her triplets, Ross and Rachel s breakup, to the
final goodbye between the gang. The most touching and memorable scene for me would be
when Monica and Chandler found out they cannot have a baby. It all started when Rachel was
giving birth to her child that the two decided to try to have one of their own. After failing for
what seem to be the hundredth time, Chandler and Monica decided to go get themselves tested
and see what s wrong. What follow was the emotional moment where Chandler got a phone call
from the clinic telling him the bad new. This touching and sad moment will leave viewers
breathless as they feel compassion for the couple. This was even more upsetting to know that
around the same time that this was film, Courtney Cox, who played Monica, was faced with a
miscarriage herself. Cox and her husband were in fact very relatable with what was happening with
Chandler and Monica, since they too struggle to get pregnant for about two years. In a NBC
interview with Matt Lauer, Cox stated that she was finding difficulty in

2) Why might Dixie Weaving employees choose not to cooperate with the consultants at this
stage in the project? The observations and interviews will mainly concern the content of the
jobs and the working conditions. Still observations will probably show how the employees are
fulfilling their job. As you can read in the story of the article a lot of the employees seem to be
disqualified to perform their work. A lot of the employees barely speak English and aren t
capable to perform their job effectively. So the employees are probably afraid that the observations
will show that their performance is weak. The employees can be afraid that the observations of

It is important we observe in an unobtrusive nature. 4) Do you agree or disagree with Joe and Ian
s time estimates for this diagnostic phase of the project. Why or why not? What factor would
you consider in developing an estimate? We feel that the time estimation of Joe and Ian is a bit
optimistic and more time might be necessary. We also believe that trying to fit all this
information gathering in to two weeks might have a negative effect on the work climate. This
because the gathering of this information may form an invasion in the daily routine of the
workers. Yet we think some time can be saved by trading in the informational interviews for
surveys. This can also provide the necessary information yet in a shorter period of time. Also the
documentation review should be limited to relevant information of only the affected departments.
The interviews with employees at multiple levels of the affected departments are of great
importance and for this reason not wise to rush or replace for a different technique. As well the
examination of the job description and training materials related to the positions in question as the
extended period of observation of the workers are of great importance. Both these processes
might lead to the cause of the struggles of Dixie weaving. This requires a lot of time and precision
seen the fact it is very important for further help to resolve

The Power Of Edison s Unconventional Tactics Of Thomas...
Thomas Alva Edison possessed a unique intellectual toolbox. His tool filled mind provided a
plethora of unconventional methods which enabled him to succeed. At an early age, Edison learned
that he could manipulate people, sometimes by withholding the truth to avoid confrontation (Conot
5). Likewise, he would unconventionally manipulate his experiments or audience to achieve an
anticipated result (Unconventional Tactics...). A perfect example is the time Edison publicly
executed an elephant, named Topsy, in an aggressive effort to maintain success. In the early 1900 s,
the standard for electricity known as direct current (DC), invented by Edison, reigned supreme. This
invention consistently generated Edison a substantial amount of revenue for discovering it. The
reason Edison went to the extremity of electrocuting an elephant was to both demonstrate a point,
but more importantly, vanquish his two rival innovators, George Westinghouse and Nicola Tesla.
The two rivals posed a great threat to Edison s monopoly and an even greater threat to his rising
popularity. Their weapon of choice? The newly discovered form of electricity called alternating
current(AC) (Long). Edison argued that their AC would be infinitely more dangerous to use than
his DC, but more importantly, he feared mankind would begin a conversion towards AC
(Chandler). In a desperate and very unconventional attempt to discredit his two rival innovators and
their form of electricity, Edison released 6,600 volts of

Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act and the Solution for
Undocumented Children through Careers, Employment, Education and Defending our Nation

The SUCCEED Act was introduced into Congress on September 25, 2017, by Senators Thom

would create a 15 year process that would allow young undocumented immigrants to earn the

become a lawful permanent resident (Penichet Paul 2017). According to Skopos Labs, this bill has
a 22% chance of being passed; The overall text of the bill does little to affect its chances of being
enacted (succeed).
The 2017 DREAM Act was introduced into on July 20, 2017, by Congresswoman Ileana Ros
Lehtinen and Lucille Roybal Allard (Penichet Paul 2017). This bipartisan, bicameral bill would
provide Dreamers young undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as
children and have lived in the U.S. at least four years protection from deportation and an
opportunity to obtain legal status if they meet certain requirements (Penichet Paul 2017). As for the

Childhood Obesity And Overweight And Obesity Essay
Obesity has become one of the number one factors affecting today s youth. Numerous factors
contribute to childhood obesity such as, poor lifestyle choices and the lack of exercise. In the
article Harrison et al. (2011) indicates in order to understand why childhood obesity and
overweight are on the rise, we first need to establish the factors that contribute to this dilemma.
There is no doubt that nature and nurture contribute to childhood overweight and obesity; that is
why researchers developed the Six Cs Model to examine this problem of childhood obesity. The
Six Cs Model focuses on six categories: cell, child, clan, community, country, and culture. This
ecological model helps researchers understand the factors of childhood overweight from a young
age to adolescence (Harrison et al., 2011). There has been numerous research on childhood obesity
and many of them have offered ecological models that have been influenced by Bronfenbrenner
(1979) and many others. Harrison et al. (2011) extends this model by developing the Six Cs Model
that identifies the environmental, hereditary and psychosocial influences that can be adapted at any
stage from infancy through adolescence. In each sphere, the authors contributed their supports with
recent studies and providing factors that has contributed to childhood overweight and obesity. The
way they convey these ideas is by highlighting the important developmental stages that children
undergo. A major finding would be that a child s body

Title: Impact of Capital Structure and Dividend Policy on Shareholders Value 1. Introduction
Dividend policy has been an issue of interest in financial literature as many theories have been
established to estimate weather this effects the overall value of the firm.Dividend policy connotes
to the payout policy, which managers pursue in deciding the size and pattern of cash distribution to
shareholders over time. Managements primary goal is shareholders wealth maximization, which
translates into maximizing the value of the company as measured by the price of the company s
common stock. This goal can be achieved by giving the shareholders a fair payment on their
investments. However, the impact of firm s dividend policy on ... Show more content on

Mean Girls Is A Teen Comedy Film
Deciding what is most important in life is often a struggle, especially during high school. Mean
Girls is a teen comedy film loosely based on the self help book titled Queen Bees and Wannabes.
The main character is a high school student named Cady that just moved from Africa and has been
homeschooled her whole life. The American culture and society she is introduced to is embodied
by the Plastics, who are the most popular girls at North Shore High: Regina, Gretchen, and Karen.
The pressure put on Cady by society causes her to struggle to decide what her priorities should be.
Mean Girls criticizes the traditional notions of femininitythat are expected of women, as they are
not required for them to be successful and accomplished.
Consider the scene when Cady first goes to Regina s house, closer to the beginning of the movie.
During this scene, the Plastics collectively walk up to a mirror and start stating what they dislike
about their bodies. The fact that the Plastics, who are supposed to be the most popular and
attractive characters in the film, are pointing out flaws on themselves induces feelings of
superiority, because even they aren t perfect. The superiority theory as described by Rappoport
suggests that this is humorous because feeling superior to someone, even subconsciously, causes
pleasure and laughter. Putting down the supposedly perfect characters causes the viewer to feel
gratification as it may cause a boost of their ego. This scene is also incongruous for a

Juxtaposition In The Destructors
There are two types of fiction, literary and commercial. Because the former is more intricate, the
literary approach is often taken while writing meaningful short fiction meant to convey a deeper
truth. Therefore, in order for a short story to be thought provoking, it must be of the literary variety,
which contains complex structure, round characters, and themes that are evident through symbolic
elements within the story. This can best be shown through the juxtaposition and comparison of the
commercial story, The Most Dangerous Game, against the literary story, The Destructors.
Something that is able to generate thought in the mind of the reader is effective characterization,
done through the usage of characters who have deep emotional... Show more content on

Therefore, a symbolic structure is necessary in creating an atmosphere of thought inside the
reader, as it will allow for deeper analytical exploration of the story as a whole. The structure of a
story can act as a symbol and provide a portrayal of the plot, as seen prominently within The
Destructors, since the story is formatted in an interesting way that works to parallel the events
occurring. The structure is interesting, as there are four sections, all with little or no transition
between them. Important information about the context of the time of day is purposely left out by
Greene, the author, to symbolize the disjointedness of the boys lives. This is shown explicitly in
the transition, or lack thereof, from section one to two. Section two begins after a conversation
between the boys has ended, and section 1 skips to the beginning of the next day. Here, the
structure purposely caused the reader to jump ahead in time and miss the events that take place in
between the omitted periods of time. The reader does not get to know what is occurring there. By
generating the feeling of missed time, the structure acts to symbolize the literal discombobulation
within the boys lives, and how the Blitz stripped them of their previous sense of normality in day to
day life. The disconnectedness of the formation of the story mirrors the physical acts of destruction
depicted in the story, since the structure itself is unruly. When the reader compares this story to the
commercial story The Most Dangerous Game, it is apparent that it is more thought out, as the
structure of The Most Dangerous Game is ordinary, and does not convey any larger meaning about
the story as a whole. It contains dialogue and description, however this is to further the plot instead
of illustrating other intricate ideas.

The Content For Elearning Environments
This is a critique of Dose Culture Matter? A qualitative and comparison study on eLearning in
Germany and China . I am attracted to this article because I work in the eLearning industry doing
visual content for eLearning environments. This study is relevant to my career path and is a topic
of interest for me. Although my current work does not transcend the boundaries of Canada, I think
as national boundaries become less significant to information products that making culturally
sensitive eLearning environments will become more prevalent.
Introduction: The introduction is clearly presented and balances well the preamble of eLearning in
Germany and in China, to center on what are the needs of eLearning as an exported product.
Specifically this study s focus is whether culture is a barrier faced by eLearning products made in a
western culture being exported to another culture. As an education product, eLearning faces deep
grooves of ingrained learning methods that have underlying cultural significance. The article sets
out to appraise the cultural variables in technology mediated learning and use a series of interviews
to help determine the barriers. The authors and researchers of the article are Nadine Hammer and
Andres Janson, Research Associates, and Jan Marco Leimeister, Professor at the University of
Kassel, Research Centre for Information System Design, as the authors are all academics, one may
presume they have knowledge and skills to conduct the proposed research.

Gender And Male And Gender
Throughout today s society, almost every aspect of someone s actions is based on whether or not
he or she fits into the social norms that have been created. It is now clear that males are the
dominant figures in our society. Norms in society do not just come randomly to one s life; they
start since a child is born. When a child is born the first question asked by the parents, family, and
friends is the genderof the child, whether it is a girl or a boy. In contrast, the terms sex and gender
have always been interdependent terms but have distinct meanings. Sex is maleand femalewhile
gender is masculine and feminine. In essence, sex refers to the biological differences and
hormonal profiles. For example females have boobs and males do not. In the other hand, gender
describes the characteristics that a society or culture present as masculine or feminine. For
example, the color blue is for boys and pink is for girls which not has always been the case. The
article from the publication Earnshaw s Infants Department The generally accepted rule is pink
for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger
color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for
the girl . Jayme Poisson, a journalist, in her article Parents Keep Child s Gender Secret she

Congressional Committees and Healthcare Policy Essay
Congressional Committees and Healthcare Policy (Chapter Review) An important point made in
Weissert and Weissert concerning Congress and its committee structure is that the majority of the
work in Congress is done through committees. They perform the majority of research on issues
and possible solutions, get legislation written, re written and amended, and support it as it moves
through Congress and finally gets passed. They are the workhorses of the legislature (Weissert and
Weissert, 29). The breadth of information on any given issue that has to be assimilated, analyzed

Cabinet officers often spend a lot of time testifying before committees (Weissert and Weissert,
30). Committees are responsible for oversight of federal agencies, and while this is described as
complicated...tedious, (Weissert and Weissert, 61) and seems to be a mostly a passive process, an
example was cited where at least one committee member was more active. Representative John
Dingell was essentially accused of bullying federal agencies (Weissert and Weissert, 61) when he
was chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, due to his apparent micro management
style. House committee investigations of presidential behavior, while becoming less common, are
other areas where committees have influence outside of Congress (Weissert and Weissert, 61).
Another example given is investigation by the House Judiciary Committee of the sentences
handed down by federal judges thought to be too soft (Weissert and Weissert, 78). A third point
made by Weissert and Weissert is that the power, effectiveness and popularity of Congressional
committees can be influenced and weakened. When party leadership is stronger, the power of
committees is lessened. Party leaders can find ways to get their pet

Designing A Traditional Stage Gate Development Process
1.Design thinking refers to creative and systematic problem solving. For example, at the
beginning of the semester we were instructed to create a tower made only out of the materials
provided to us, that would not only support the weight of a single marshmallow, but also be the
tallest in the class and it had to be able to stand entirely on its own. In order to create the
contraption, our groups had to use design thinking. The design thinking process goes through
several stages: discover, define, create and evaluate. The process is unique and differs from a
traditional stage gate development process because it is not restricted by a definitive order and can
be accomplished using the four stages in different orders. Additionally, since the... Show more

Additionally, marketers may use an unstable product spec and scope creep. This means that the
marketers might begin research and then start to make assumptions about what the consumer wants,
so they will rush into developing the product when there are still several unknowns, or the scope or
function of the product keeps changing. This, in turn, will lead to failure down the road because
once the product is on the market there may be reasons to backtrack and fix things that were hastily
decided upon. Next, a company may have dysfunctional product teams which essentially means that
the company is not working together effectively to ensure the success of the new product.
Oftentimes, a company will pass the product along to different sections without collaborating
together which ends up creating inconsistencies and dysfunctionality within the product launch.
Another reason products fail is because they have too many projects in the pipeline and lack
focus. For example, if a company is working on launching several new products and dedicates
time to both, they will lose focus on each idea and those products will suffer. Workers are
stretched too thin and there ends up being flaws or issues with the final product. Lastly, companies
may not have the proper skills, competencies or knowledge needed to create the product. The
process might begin with a great idea, but if the right

Generally, bacterial vaginosis is characterized by a shift in the normal microbiome of the vagina
from the predominant Lactobacillus species to an overgrowth of a mixed community dominated by
Gardnerella vaginalis and anaerobic bacterial species.(teenus, 2015)
Any change in the resident flora including reduction of lactobacilli allows for different anaerobic
bacteria to multiply. (Ling et al., 2010; Redondo et al., 1990) . Nevertheless the process of
replacement the normal lactobacilli flora by opportunistic pathogens in vaginal ecosystem and the
role of intrinsic host factors still remains unclear, requiring more research and studies to be
conducted. (Turovskiy et al.,

Essay on Albert Speer
Albert Speer
1. Born in March 19th 1905, and the middle child of three sons, you could say Albert Speer had a
life of a movie star. Having a father who was a successful architect in Mannheim, and a mother
who came from a wealthy family you would say that the Speer family was more than well off. The
Speer family had their own cook, kitchen maid, chamber maid, butler, chauffer, nanny and
governess; Albert Speer was the upper class instead of the upper middle which he classified himself
into.
But too all good things there are bad. Not liking his brothers, he would get picked on by them.
Albert s relationship with his parents was poor and had conjured in his mind that they didn t have

Speer s decision on joining the Nazi party had an improvement of impact to his work as an architect
. Even though that didn t give him many opportunities to create buildings it still gave home work
in the field that he loved doing. Having been given the chance to redecorate headquarters, Speer
still had shown that he was a willing and capable person to achieving anything and by doing so it
had created more jobs and had pushed him closer and closer into becoming a well know
architect. Having seen the plans for the Nuremburg rallies Speer, being a person to welcome on
challenges had stated that he could do better with the designs for the rally. Speer had wanted to
create a setting designed to impress the audience that would make them walk into the stadium at
night that then they were confronted with a raised platform to which was draped with two huge
black, white and red banners, each taller than a 10 story building with a third swastika banner

lights had been the main design and basis for the rally. Splendid in design and marvelous in sight,
this was one of Speer s memorable works, which had given him his statue as a magnificent architect.
4. Speer s status as a nobody at the early stages of his years had banished. Having shown his work
not only to Hitler but also to the world had given Speer the respect and recognition of a superb

Russian Ideology
Ideologies made a significant amount of contribution to the making of modern Russia. At the
beginning of 1856, Russia was an autocratic country ruled by the Tsar, but when this ruling
family was challenged they took preventative means to try to preserve their autocratic powers.
Alexander II made political, social and economic reforms to try to appease the people to stay in
power; one of the policies being the creation of the Zemstva. Nicholas II also created the Duma to
preserve his power and keep autocracy; however the lack of real provision for the desires of the
people and the rigidness of autocracy like the reinstatement of the fundamental laws 1906 led to its
demise. The fall of autocracy led to democracy, unfortunately for the government there... Show

CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, although war was a major contribution to the making of modern Russia through the
Crimean War that brought about the realisation of the need for change, and the Civil War that
helped in the production of the NEP, as well as WW2 that brought about the Red Tsar. There were
other huge contributors to the making of modern Russia like the role of the individuals that brought
about the change in policies and the ideologies that made Russia the unique country it was. The role
of the individuals is the most important as without the leaders the policies would not have been
brought across; the individuals also generated the ideologies and implemented them. It was also the
individuals that brought about realisation after the wars as AlexanderII realised that Russia was

Classics Should Be Taught In Australia Essay
There is no hiding the fact, classics can be a challenge to read: however, does that mean we should
just forget about them?. A modern teenager wouldn t know one of the most iconic Australian songs
Waltzing Matilda . For those that do recognize the song would most likely only be able to recite
the chores, the remaining verses will be a endless monotone mumble of confusion. Furthermore, not
all of Australia s classics are being lost as and enhanced number of children recognize dreamtime
stories rather than western culture as they are being taught in primary school. There are many
things that can distract students such as technology, technology has changed the world and it is
reaching new limits as I write. The advancements of technology does have negative effects on
active students and their schooling life. Countless students would rather watch Tv than read,

Wildlife Corridor Essay
Abstract
Proponents of the wildlife corridor concept suggest that by connecting otherwise isolated portions
of habitat, species benefit through gaining access to a larger gene pool, thus increasing their
chances of reproductive success. Despite the popularisation of this idea over the last several
decades, a lack of long term scientific research has led some to question this assumption.
Factors including the territorial, mating and migration behaviours of individual species of animal
as well as the lengths and breadths of corridors are all assumed to influence the effect of a corridor
individually. As such, a specific corridor may assist in defragmenting the population of one species,
but may not affect another in any significant way.
The vast tracts of land required by wildlife corridors make a considered assessment of their
assumed benefits an absolute necessity.
Introduction
The following paper aims to critique assumptions commonly made about wildlife corridors and to
assess claims that they make a significant impact to the defragmentation of wildlife populations.
Information from a variety of sources will be assessed in terms of its accuracy and relevance in an
attempt to determine if wildlife corridors are an effective method to increase localised biodiversity
levels. After key evidence both in favour against the concept has been presented, any relevant ideas
will be synthesised into a recommendation made at the end of the paper.

Pacific Ocean West Of Peru
Pacific Ocean west of Peru hit 5 degrees above average, outpacing the abnormally warm
temperatures seen at this time of year in 1997, which developed into the strongest El NiГ±o on
record (latimes.com). California and a majority of South America have gotten unusual rainfall since
January because of this El Nino effect. Mudslides, heavy rainfall, one storm after another like a
conveyor belt, is how they described the oncoming weatherfor the Western region. This rise in sea
temperature did not just cause heavy rainfall in the western states and the South America
countries but caused droughts in places like Australia and Indonesia. The frequency of category

major effects across the world, fueling an active and unusually powerful hurricane season in the
eastern Pacific Ocean, including Hurricane Patricia, which hit Mexico (latimes.com). In addition
to the elevated rainfall, it pushed hurricane season forward in Mexico and surroundings states.
The world has experienced nine years since the last massive hurricane. This is a record soon to be

Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad )
Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disorder that is characterized by degeneration of the hippocampal
and cortical neurons of the brain causing memory impairment and a decline in cognitive abilities.
The current study by Ghoneim et al.1 focuses on the role of three proteins in the pathogenesis of
Alzheimer s. Brainderived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling is important for development and
maintenance of normal neuronal circuits in the brain. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is
expressed by astrocytes in the central nervous system in response to neurondamage. Ki 67 is a
protein that is responsible for detecting cell proliferation. Ghoneim et al. designed their study to
explore the effects of caffeineintake on the expression of these proteins in rats induced with AD.
Caffeine is hypothesized to have a protective effect against AD for a multitude of reasons. It is
believed that caffeine has the potential to reduce amyloid beta accumulation because it is
associated with reduced oxidative stress. It could also reduce the effects of the inflammatory
response which is a well known trademark of AD. Lastly, caffeine has been identified to have a
role in maintaining the blood brain barrier.
Previously, it has been suggested that drinking 3 5 cups of coffee per day during midlife is
associated with a 65% decreased risk of dementia/Alzheimer s in the elderly. Other studies have
reported that caffeine inhibits the production of amyloid beta in the brain and reverses cognitive

The Lottery Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson s short story, The Lottery, encompassed subtle details that magnified the underlying
theme of horror. During the whole of the story, through a progressive build, readers seem to
discover the magnification of the underlying theme of horror by Jackson s use of tone,
foreshadowing and irony. The tone of the short storydevelops and changes and gives the reader and
ominous presence that something is not right in the village. This would be the various descriptions
of the village, attitudes of the townspeople, and the present situation. Foreshadowing also plays a
crucial role in the development of horror and gives the reader an awareness that something else
might be going on. This device that Jackson uses forces the reader... Show more content on

The first way that Jackson did this was in in the actual title of the story. When people usually
think of a lottery, they expect a drawing in where someone wins some sort of prize of great
worth. The lottery that the village actually performs is a drawing in which one loses. Not only
is the title deceiving, but the opening lines which describe the setting of the village were also
ironic: The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full summer
day; the flowers were blossoming profusely and the grass was richly green. Jackson made the day
seem like it was a peaceful and normal, where everyone in a sense was celebrating the coming of
the lottery. By comparing the lottery to how, square dances, the teen club, the Halloween program,
were conducted, Jackson furthered the normality of the drawing. Another ironic moment in the
story is the relationships between the villagers. We see that everyone is worried about everyone s
whereabouts. The villagers make sure that there is complete attendance of the lottery. In reality, we
learn that the true meaning for the concern of the others is not because they will miss out on the
festivities, but that everyone wants to make sure that they all have an equal chance at the lottery.
The more people there are, the less of a chance that a family will draw the marked sheet

The Book Flapper by Joshua Zeitz
Flapper by Joshua Zeitz is a book that tells an epic story about the American women during the
time of the 1920 s. For a better understanding, a flapper would typically be a young girl who
blurred the gender roles by taking on a more masculine lifestyle. They wore their hair short, drank
and smoked frequently, and explored their sexuality. With this behavior, it didn t destroy their
femininity; it just simply provided the society s perception of what a womanshould and should not
be.
The story starts off with a hopelessly romantic side. It all begins by learning about a seventeen year
old girl named Zelda and a First Lieutenant named Francis Scott Fitzgerald who is known to
who they became to be in modern day history. Zelda can be classified as a wild child. Her
summer tan gave her skin the color of a rose petal, her hair was gold, and her eyes seemed to
change color with her prismatic moods. Scott Fitzgerald was an individual who spent four years
at Princeton without earning his undergraduate degree. He gave little contribution to classroom
discussions, and was lazy in all things but reading and writing. In this novel, Joshua Zeitz is able
to educate the readers on the becoming of new women in America. Zeitz is also able to inform the
readers on the evolution and growth of the liberties associated with the new American women. As
one of the themes in the first section of the book, Zeitz develops a concept by discussing and
analyzing the life of CoCo Chanel. She was a French

My Experience At The Teton Valley Ranch Camp Essay
When I was taking a photo of the purple sky and two stretching lakes across the Bonney Pass in

When I submitted the lengthy application to the Teton Valley Ranch Camp in Dubois, Wyomingmy
mind kept sinking back to the fear of flying away to my comfortable close knit home to work at a
ranch camp 2,610 miles away. My mom persisted that I should do something different with my
summer. After being a camper at the Teton Valley Ranch Camp, I thought it would be nice to

I did not want to leave the summer before college started. I wanted to stay in the same routine

from home was daunting. I enjoyed my circle of friends in Nantucket because I was comfortable
with my everyday routine. Visions of anxiety swept over my mind; the fear crept over my mind
with the years of high school which constrained my personality. The boarding school years
trapped me in like a prison with no welcoming smiles. I wanted to return to my happy place in
Nantucket with my friends. Despite my fears, I continued to think of the outcome of going to a

Media Portrayal Of Islam Essay
The Media Portrayal of Islam
Islam is portrayed and is commonly accepted as the most violent and largest direct threat to the
West. This is a generalization made by most of the West, but it is not particularly the West or the
Islamic people s fault. There is constant turmoil in Islamic countries in the Middle East and these
conflicts are what make the news in the West. The only representation in the media that the Islamic
nation gets is that of war. Though most Islamic people are not violent, the select few that do
participate in terrorist groups give the rest of the Islam nation a bad image.

Ever since the bombing of the World Trade Centeron February 1993 the United States of America

Alain Locke s The New Negro
Though times have changed, Alain Locke tries to convey that meaning into many of his writings.
Alain Locke has been an activist for the many years of the Harlem Renaissance. He spoke
forward about how the ancestors of African American referred as the Old Negros and the newer
generation referred to as the New Negros took different outlooks on life. American Negros goal in
life at this point in time was to change their mentality. But how? Locke had introduced many
readers to the vibrant wondrous world of African Americans. He opened the eyes to what American
Negros can do and not what they cannot do, no one should be restricted by any boundaries. One of
his most influential writings was Enter the New Negro , its open the mind of those who have come
across it. The treatment of African Americans seemed as it has changed from the 1920 to the 1930s
but mistreatment still remained. At this time African Americanneeded to convey the images left
behind by their ancestors into something greater to please and uphold their legacy, not the legacy of
themselves but a legacy for the African American community altogether. Locke speaks of the
mistreatment when he states;
The Negro, too, for his part, has idols of the tribe to smash. If on the one hand the white man has
erred in making the Negro appear to be that which would excuse or extenuate his treatment of him,
the Negro, in turn, has too often unnecessarily excused himself because of the way he has been
treated. The

Comparing The Impact Of Religion And Philosophy In India...
When comparing the impact of religion and philosophy in India with the impact of religion and
philosophy on these classical civilization s governments between 600 BCE and 600 CE, they
were similar in that they used religion and philosophy to support social and caste divisions, they
stressed the importance of following and obeying rules and the men who followed the teachings of
the religion or philosophy were on the top of the social hierarchy. This was because both Chinaand
India religion and philosophy used religion to justify the social divisions like the caste system in
India by talking about reincarnation or the Confucian stress on the importance of obeying authority.

One social difference was that in India, religion didn t help the government unify their empire.
Hinduism was so diverse and had so many offshoots and sects like the Shaivites and the
Vaishnavites that it wasn t uniform enough to be shared across India and bring together the Indian
subcontinent and empire. This was distinct from China where Confucianism was fairly consistent in
its teachings and values. Because of this, all across China the idea of Confucianism linked various
provinces and areas like the vastly different North and South China together. A follower of
Confucius from a remote southern province would probably follow the same ideals that another
follower of Confucius from the North. This let the government unify the Chinese empire and
bring together otherwise very different people under one government. This difference was
probably due to the fact that Hinduism had no one founder to dispense core values and it was a
polytheistic religion so there were many different gods to follow while Confucianism was based
on the teachings of one man, Confucius and followed his individual teachings and the
interpretations of them. Of the two, China was much more unified while India remained
incredibly diverse. However, both these governments and empires were more united than the
Classical Greek civilization which was composed of fiercely independent city states. A social
similarity was that these religions helped helped the government maintain social differences in
society. India had the highly inflexible caste system while China had a more lenient social
pyramid. The caste system was supported by the belief in reincarnation and karma in India
where if you lived a good life as a good person you would reincarnate into a good caste because of
your karma so you were ultimately responsible for your own caste. In China, Confucianism
promoted the idea that those in lower classes should stay there and respect their

What Is Stretching Essay
Benefits of Stretching
The body is flexible. It is supposed to be flexible. You must be able to bend and reach that
something you dropped on the floor. You must be able to zip the back of your favorite dress on
your own. You must be able to reach that book you need to read at the top shelf. These are simple
activities. Nothing grand about them, you merely stretched out a bit. However, if there are
difficulties in doing such simple motions, then you have to stretch your limits. You already need a

Stretching is simply the act of extending to full length the body or simply a part of it. This activity

minutes. This will give the body enough opportunity to move and flex the muscles, thus preparing
it for more complicated and strenuous movements. Experts however would frown upon going way
beyond 10 minutes. Stretching the exercise to 30 minutes or more will already wear out the body.

A Reflection On The American Culture
When people think of missions, they think its missioners going out to help the poor by giving
them money, food, or something materialistic. Missionary s primary goal should be to bring
honor to God. Missions are not just providing materialistically but it s a way to grow relationally.
We aren t meant to bring out the great potential in God s creation, by being relational to our
selves, with others, and with the rest of creation for we all have a broken in spirit. We are meant to
feel a sense of dignity in ourselves for we were created in the image of God. Culture has an
influence in the way we feel about ourselves, all of our societies are different. As believers we are
meant not to make ourselves feel high but equal because we are all broken instead we needjoin
hands with people. Intercultural studies come in play because it allows us to understand a foreign
culture to accomplish a certain goal. The goal which we are to accomplish first is to know that we
are not the savers but we are called to help others discover that they are a value meanwhile walking
humbly with them as Jesustransforms both of us. Our relationships with others make a difference
not only for us but the community. The poor need access to prayer, preachers, and to the body. I
have learned missions are not just us going into another country to help the poor but to heal a
community. We need to recognize that we are not the only answer to that community but we are a
part of it. We need to be able to

He also won Rookie of the year honors. During his Sophomore season, Dale, began the season

Sleep Disturbances And The Multifactorial Nature Of Insomnia
Age Related Changes. The previously discussed models and hypotheses are important in
understanding the foundation of sleep disturbances and the multifactorial nature of insomnia.
However, it is imperative to also acknowledge the age related changes that effect sleep
architecture and sleep patterns in older adults. The medical field has defined individuals over the
age of 65 as elderly, and those over the age of 75 as geriatric. Many changes involving how sleep is
initiated and maintained occur throughout the lifespan. Subjective inquiries reveal that older adults
on average report spending more time in bed, but less time sleeping, waking more often throughout
the night, earlier wake times, more frequent napping, and taking longer to... Show more content on

Implications
Combined, the foundational models and hypotheses of insomnia along with the age related changes
in sleep architecture contribute to the understanding of the consequences and implications
chronic insomnia in older adults. While sleep disturbances in older adults are often considered a
normal part of aging, there are associated with reduced quality of life, increased healthcare
utilization, institutionalization, as well as a risk factor for poor mental and physical health
(Galimi, 2010; Krishnan Hawranlik, 2008). Insomnia in older adults can lead to disruptions of
sleep in their caregivers, resulting in the decision of institutionalization of an elder. Furthermore,
chronic insomnia can precipitate psychological distress and is associated with difficulties in
attention, slower response times, diminished cognitive abilities, daytime sleepiness, and impaired
memory (Hildalgo et al., 2007). These factors combined can increase the risk of falls, fractures,
and driving accidents in the older adult. Insomnia as a risk factor for falls serves as a strong
predictor of long term care placement (Hill, et al., 2007).
Physical and psychological health implications of chronic insomnia in the older adult contribute to
a decreased quality of life. There is substantial evidence that suggests insomnia is an independent
risk factor for the onset and maintenance of major depression disorder (Pigeon Perlis, 2007).

  • 2. Comparing Ophelia And Hamlet If Only He was as Great as Her Often times, a tragedy can bring two people together, especially lovers, yet, sometimes, it can drive them apart. Both of them can become mad, one can become mad and not the other, or they can become mad in two totally different ways. When tragedy strikes in Hamlet, Ophelia and Hamlet deal with it very differently. Despite the obvious tragedies that group them together, Ophelia and Hamlet are nothing alike at all, characteristically. In fact, Ophelia is the female version of the man Hamlet should become because she is active and determined, transgressing her pre determined role as a naГЇve woman. Before one can discuss Ophelia s activeness, one must focus on Hamlet inactiveness, and why Ophelia as the best, idealistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ophelia would have never handed out flowers with obvious intentions had her father not died. Nevertheless, the main characters of Hamlet dismiss her advances toward them. Even though the characters of Hamlet dismiss Ophelia s madness, her madness directly affects them. Her action leads to others actions. Her suicide leads to the direct duel between Laertes and Hamlet, which leads to the impending doom of the whole court. The themes are overcoming hardship, family, and suffering. I say that these are the themes because I have the evidence. I have evidence for family on how Mattie tried to help her sick family. I have evidence for how the second theme is overcoming hardship on how they overcame being sick. Finally I have evidence on how the third theme is suffering because how the sick people suffered. • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Sugary Food Sugar is a good ingredient for cooking, however, sugary foods can bring a lot of negative influences to the human body, such as obesity, so this essay will introduce some knowledge about negative externalities, government measures and the effects of excessive consumption of sugary foods. Meanwhile, it will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the imposition of tax and compare it to alternative solutions. Externality is a kind of market failure that all allocation of goods and services is not efficient. Externalities is effects of activities on outside third parties, which is also called Spillover Effect . It will occur when there is a difference between social costs or benefits and private costs or benefits. Positive externality represents by benefits, so if social benefit is greater than private benefits, there will be a positive externality. For instance, inoculation and education. • 5. T. V TV Show Friends Forever Back when I was still in high school, whenever the clock turned eleven p.m., my brother and I immediately turn the television to channel 5 to watch the rerun of our all time favorite T.V. sitcom, Friends. This was when we use the time to sit back and relax with the show s hilarious and funny moment. On September 22, 1994, NBC debuted a brand new sitcom about the life of six friends living in New York City, with the creators, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, never expecting it to become such a huge and phenomenal success. The show started off with Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Anniston, as a run away bride who came into the city looking for help from her old high school friends, Monica Geller, portrayed by Courtney Cox. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yes, it is a sitcom so the main focus is to bring laughter to the viewers. However, if it want to stick with the audiences and be remember long after the show is over, it need to touch the viewers heart, and that s is exactly what the show did. There are so many moments to choose from, ranging from Phoebe saying goodbye to her triplets, Ross and Rachel s breakup, to the final goodbye between the gang. The most touching and memorable scene for me would be when Monica and Chandler found out they cannot have a baby. It all started when Rachel was giving birth to her child that the two decided to try to have one of their own. After failing for what seem to be the hundredth time, Chandler and Monica decided to go get themselves tested and see what s wrong. What follow was the emotional moment where Chandler got a phone call from the clinic telling him the bad new. This touching and sad moment will leave viewers breathless as they feel compassion for the couple. This was even more upsetting to know that around the same time that this was film, Courtney Cox, who played Monica, was faced with a miscarriage herself. Cox and her husband were in fact very relatable with what was happening with Chandler and Monica, since they too struggle to get pregnant for about two years. We also believe that trying to fit all this information gathering in to two weeks might have a negative effect on the work climate. This because the gathering of this information may form an invasion in the daily routine of the workers. Yet we think some time can be saved by trading in the informational interviews for surveys. This can also provide the necessary information yet in a shorter period of time. Also the documentation review should be limited to relevant information of only the affected departments. The interviews with employees at multiple levels of the affected departments are of great importance and for this reason not wise to rush or replace for a different technique. As well the examination of the job description and training materials related to the positions in question as the extended period of observation of the workers are of great importance. • 7. The Power Of Edison s Unconventional Tactics Of Thomas... Thomas Alva Edison possessed a unique intellectual toolbox. His tool filled mind provided a plethora of unconventional methods which enabled him to succeed. At an early age, Edison learned that he could manipulate people, sometimes by withholding the truth to avoid confrontation (Conot 5). Likewise, he would unconventionally manipulate his experiments or audience to achieve an anticipated result (Unconventional Tactics...). A perfect example is the time Edison publicly executed an elephant, named Topsy, in an aggressive effort to maintain success. In the early 1900 s, the standard for electricity known as direct current (DC), invented by Edison, reigned supreme. This invention consistently generated Edison a substantial amount of revenue for discovering it. The reason Edison went to the extremity of electrocuting an elephant was to both demonstrate a point, but more importantly, vanquish his two rival innovators, George Westinghouse and Nicola Tesla. The two rivals posed a great threat to Edison s monopoly and an even greater threat to his rising popularity. Their weapon of choice? The newly discovered form of electricity called alternating current(AC) (Long). Edison argued that their AC would be infinitely more dangerous to use than his DC, but more importantly, he feared mankind would begin a conversion towards AC (Chandler). In a desperate and very unconventional attempt to discredit his two rival innovators and their form of electricity, Edison released 6,600 volts of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is no doubt that nature and nurture contribute to childhood overweight and obesity; that is why researchers developed the Six Cs Model to examine this problem of childhood obesity. The Six Cs Model focuses on six categories: cell, child, clan, community, country, and culture. This ecological model helps researchers understand the factors of childhood overweight from a young age to adolescence (Harrison et al., 2011). There has been numerous research on childhood obesity and many of them have offered ecological models that have been influenced by Bronfenbrenner (1979) and many others. Harrison et al. Mean Girls is a teen comedy film loosely based on the self help book titled Queen Bees and Wannabes. The main character is a high school student named Cady that just moved from Africa and has been homeschooled her whole life. The American culture and society she is introduced to is embodied by the Plastics, who are the most popular girls at North Shore High: Regina, Gretchen, and Karen. The pressure put on Cady by society causes her to struggle to decide what her priorities should be. Mean Girls criticizes the traditional notions of femininitythat are expected of women, as they are not required for them to be successful and accomplished. Consider the scene when Cady first goes to Regina s house, closer to the beginning of the movie. During this scene, the Plastics collectively walk up to a mirror and start stating what they dislike about their bodies. The fact that the Plastics, who are supposed to be the most popular and attractive characters in the film, are pointing out flaws on themselves induces feelings of superiority, because even they aren t perfect. The superiority theory as described by Rappoport suggests that this is humorous because feeling superior to someone, even subconsciously, causes pleasure and laughter. • 15. Juxtaposition In The Destructors There are two types of fiction, literary and commercial. Because the former is more intricate, the literary approach is often taken while writing meaningful short fiction meant to convey a deeper truth. Therefore, in order for a short story to be thought provoking, it must be of the literary variety, which contains complex structure, round characters, and themes that are evident through symbolic elements within the story. This can best be shown through the juxtaposition and comparison of the commercial story, The Most Dangerous Game, against the literary story, The Destructors. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, a symbolic structure is necessary in creating an atmosphere of thought inside the reader, as it will allow for deeper analytical exploration of the story as a whole. The structure of a story can act as a symbol and provide a portrayal of the plot, as seen prominently within The Destructors, since the story is formatted in an interesting way that works to parallel the events occurring. The structure is interesting, as there are four sections, all with little or no transition between them. Important information about the context of the time of day is purposely left out by Greene, the author, to symbolize the disjointedness of the boys lives. This is shown explicitly in the transition, or lack thereof, from section one to two. Section two begins after a conversation between the boys has ended, and section 1 skips to the beginning of the next day. Here, the structure purposely caused the reader to jump ahead in time and miss the events that take place in between the omitted periods of time. The reader does not get to know what is occurring there. By generating the feeling of missed time, the structure acts to symbolize the literal discombobulation within the boys lives, and how the Blitz stripped them of their previous sense of normality in day to day life. The disconnectedness of the formation of the story mirrors the physical acts of destruction depicted in the story, since the structure itself is unruly. When the reader compares this story to the commercial story The Most Dangerous Game, it is apparent that it is more thought out, as the structure of The Most Dangerous Game is ordinary, and does not convey any larger meaning about the story as a whole. It contains dialogue and description, however this is to further the plot instead of illustrating other intricate ideas. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This means that the marketers might begin research and then start to make assumptions about what the consumer wants, so they will rush into developing the product when there are still several unknowns, or the scope or function of the product keeps changing. This, in turn, will lead to failure down the road because once the product is on the market there may be reasons to backtrack and fix things that were hastily decided upon. Next, a company may have dysfunctional product teams which essentially means that the company is not working together effectively to ensure the success of the new product. Oftentimes, a company will pass the product along to different sections without collaborating together which ends up creating inconsistencies and dysfunctionality within the product launch. Another reason products fail is because they have too many projects in the pipeline and lack focus. • 25. Wildlife Corridor Essay Abstract Proponents of the wildlife corridor concept suggest that by connecting otherwise isolated portions of habitat, species benefit through gaining access to a larger gene pool, thus increasing their chances of reproductive success. Despite the popularisation of this idea over the last several decades, a lack of long term scientific research has led some to question this assumption. Factors including the territorial, mating and migration behaviours of individual species of animal as well as the lengths and breadths of corridors are all assumed to influence the effect of a corridor individually. As such, a specific corridor may assist in defragmenting the population of one species, but may not affect another in any significant way. The vast tracts of land required by wildlife corridors make a considered assessment of their assumed benefits an absolute necessity. Introduction The following paper aims to critique assumptions commonly made about wildlife corridors and to assess claims that they make a significant impact to the defragmentation of wildlife populations. Information from a variety of sources will be assessed in terms of its accuracy and relevance in an attempt to determine if wildlife corridors are an effective method to increase localised biodiversity levels. • 27. Alzheimer s Disease ( Ad ) Alzheimer s disease (AD) is a disorder that is characterized by degeneration of the hippocampal and cortical neurons of the brain causing memory impairment and a decline in cognitive abilities. The current study by Ghoneim et al.1 focuses on the role of three proteins in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer s. Brainderived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling is important for development and maintenance of normal neuronal circuits in the brain. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is expressed by astrocytes in the central nervous system in response to neurondamage. Ki 67 is a protein that is responsible for detecting cell proliferation. Ghoneim et al. designed their study to explore the effects of caffeineintake on the expression of these proteins in rats induced with AD. Caffeine is hypothesized to have a protective effect against AD for a multitude of reasons. It is believed that caffeine has the potential to reduce amyloid beta accumulation because it is associated with reduced oxidative stress. It could also reduce the effects of the inflammatory response which is a well known trademark of AD. Lastly, caffeine has been identified to have a role in maintaining the blood brain barrier. Previously, it has been suggested that drinking 3 5 cups of coffee per day during midlife is associated with a 65% decreased risk of dementia/Alzheimer s in the elderly. Other studies have reported that caffeine inhibits the production of amyloid beta in the brain and reverses cognitive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. The Lottery Shirley Jackson Shirley Jackson s short story, The Lottery, encompassed subtle details that magnified the underlying theme of horror. During the whole of the story, through a progressive build, readers seem to discover the magnification of the underlying theme of horror by Jackson s use of tone, foreshadowing and irony. The tone of the short storydevelops and changes and gives the reader and ominous presence that something is not right in the village. This would be the various descriptions of the village, attitudes of the townspeople, and the present situation. Foreshadowing also plays a crucial role in the development of horror and gives the reader an awareness that something else might be going on. This device that Jackson uses forces the reader... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first way that Jackson did this was in in the actual title of the story. When people usually think of a lottery, they expect a drawing in where someone wins some sort of prize of great worth. The lottery that the village actually performs is a drawing in which one loses. Not only is the title deceiving, but the opening lines which describe the setting of the village were also ironic: The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full summer day; the flowers were blossoming profusely and the grass was richly green. Jackson made the day seem like it was a peaceful and normal, where everyone in a sense was celebrating the coming of the lottery. By comparing the lottery to how, square dances, the teen club, the Halloween program, were conducted, Jackson furthered the normality of the drawing. Another ironic moment in the story is the relationships between the villagers. We see that everyone is worried about everyone s whereabouts. The villagers make sure that there is complete attendance of the lottery. In reality, we learn that the true meaning for the concern of the others is not because they will miss out on the festivities, but that everyone wants to make sure that they all have an equal chance at the lottery. The more people there are, the less of a chance that a family will draw the marked sheet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. The Book Flapper by Joshua Zeitz Flapper by Joshua Zeitz is a book that tells an epic story about the American women during the time of the 1920 s. For a better understanding, a flapper would typically be a young girl who blurred the gender roles by taking on a more masculine lifestyle. They wore their hair short, drank and smoked frequently, and explored their sexuality. With this behavior, it didn t destroy their femininity; it just simply provided the society s perception of what a womanshould and should not be. The story starts off with a hopelessly romantic side. It all begins by learning about a seventeen year old girl named Zelda and a First Lieutenant named Francis Scott Fitzgerald who is known to who they became to be in modern day history. Zelda can be classified as a wild child. Her summer tan gave her skin the color of a rose petal, her hair was gold, and her eyes seemed to change color with her prismatic moods. Scott Fitzgerald was an individual who spent four years at Princeton without earning his undergraduate degree. He gave little contribution to classroom discussions, and was lazy in all things but reading and writing. In this novel, Joshua Zeitz is able to educate the readers on the becoming of new women in America. Zeitz is also able to inform the readers on the evolution and growth of the liberties associated with the new American women. As one of the themes in the first section of the book, Zeitz develops a concept by discussing and analyzing the life of CoCo Chanel. She was a French ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One social difference was that in India, religion didn t help the government unify their empire. Hinduism was so diverse and had so many offshoots and sects like the Shaivites and the Vaishnavites that it wasn t uniform enough to be shared across India and bring together the Indian subcontinent and empire. This was distinct from China where Confucianism was fairly consistent in its teachings and values. Because of this, all across China the idea of Confucianism linked various provinces and areas like the vastly different North and South China together. A follower of Confucius from a remote southern province would probably follow the same ideals that another follower of Confucius from the North. This let the government unify the Chinese empire and bring together otherwise very different people under one government. This difference was probably due to the fact that Hinduism had no one founder to dispense core values and it was a polytheistic religion so there were many different gods to follow while Confucianism was based on the teachings of one man, Confucius and followed his individual teachings and the interpretations of them. Of the two, China was much more unified while India remained incredibly diverse. However, both these governments and empires were more united than the Classical Greek civilization which was composed of fiercely independent city states. A social similarity was that these religions helped helped the government maintain social differences in society. India had the highly inflexible caste system while China had a more lenient social pyramid. The caste system was supported by the belief in reincarnation and karma in India where if you lived a good life as a good person you would reincarnate into a good caste because of your karma so you were ultimately responsible for your own caste. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Implications Combined, the foundational models and hypotheses of insomnia along with the age related changes in sleep architecture contribute to the understanding of the consequences and implications chronic insomnia in older adults. While sleep disturbances in older adults are often considered a normal part of aging, there are associated with reduced quality of life, increased healthcare utilization, institutionalization, as well as a risk factor for poor mental and physical health (Galimi, 2010; Krishnan Hawranlik, 2008). Insomnia in older adults can lead to disruptions of sleep in their caregivers, resulting in the decision of institutionalization of an elder. Furthermore, chronic insomnia can precipitate psychological distress and is associated with difficulties in attention, slower response times, diminished cognitive abilities, daytime sleepiness, and impaired memory (Hildalgo et al., 2007). These factors combined can increase the risk of falls, fractures, and driving accidents in the older adult. Insomnia as a risk factor for falls serves as a strong predictor of long term care placement (Hill, et al., 2007).
