Status Quo, From High School Musical
When you first referred to this assignment, I immediately thought about the song called Status Quo
from High School Musical. This was one of my favorite movies when I was a teenager. The song
plays in the movie while Gabrielle s friends are telling her that if she dates Troy, the popular
basketball player, it will mess us the status quo. In a cute dance number they break out in song in the
cafeteria singing. From watching that movie, I already had an understanding of what I needed to
reflect on.
I am a very organized person. At the beginning of the semester, I read through the syllabus. I knew
that we would have a reflection paper on the course, so I have been preparing all semester to write this
paper. Every chapter I read and summary I completed, I would jot down concepts and ideas that stuck
with me. I took this class because it was a requirement for my ASL minor. I did not realize what I was
going to learn and I think that worked out well in the end.
In August, I was aware of Deaf culture. I knew the difference between little d and big D of deaf. I had
been exposed to certain aspects through my past professors like Danny Roush, who is a CODA. This
campus has a tight knit bond between the Deaf community and students. EKU has an extremely
credible ASLIE department. They have even took advantage of the Living Learning Communities and
have a Deaf floor in Walters Hall. I was exposed everything, but I was an outsider looking in.
When a person learns ASL, they are

Flyer Research Papers
The very first motorized aircraft, made by the Wright brothers and named Flyer I, was a brilliant
vehicle and was the dawn of airplane travel. Since its final flight in 1903, there have been many
different versions of the airplane (which evolved faster than any other mode of travel, which is due to
warfare, as WWI came quickly after its development), all of them for advanced (and safer) than the
Flyer I, however, none of those come first so the Wright brother s plane wins. It contained an engine
that was the first of its time, a wing design that was efficient and effective, and an interesting control
system. The Flyer I was not without faults, though. In fact, it had many. On the other hand, it had
many successes over its flight. The wing design was both innovative and effective, making it
tremendous for the first ever motorized flight. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, it was the very first aircraft to use in a aluminum crankcase (a covering over a
crankshaft). Later on, aluminum became commonly used in aircrafts due to its light weight. The very
simple engine produced 12 horsepower, despite not having a fuel pump, carburetor (a device used in
an engine that is used to combine air with liquid fuel), or spark plugs (a device that burns the air/liquid
fuel mixture made by the carburetor). Gasoline was gravity fed into the engine from a quart and a half
tank that was mounted on a wing strut of an upper wing. From there, the gasoline fell into a chamber
next to the cylinders (a piston chamber in a combustion/steam engine) and mixed with air. The
crankcase would then vaporize the gasoline/air mixture and the mixture would pass into the cylinders.
Now that the mixture was in the cylinders, the plane could be started and clone, but to start the engine
initially, the Wright brothers had to use a coil and four dry cell batteries that were not kept on the

The Industrial Revolution Essay
The Industrial Revolution
Going to work for a full day isn t much fun after working fifteen hours the day before! 60 70 hour
work days are never pleasant in anybody s mind. How is it that so many people did this during the
Industrial Revolution? Was it because they wanted the extra money? Or was it because they wanted
the high political or economic status? For some people these were the reasons, but for most it was
because of one concern. Survival! The Industrial Revolution greatly changed the workplace and the
proletarians.
The Factory system was changed forever by the name of one man, Richard Arkwright. Even though
Arkwright was not a great inventor, he used other peoples ideas to advocate his own ambitions to the

significant invention of the Industrial Revolution (Mantoux 230 250). The Spinning Jenny and the
Steam Engine were the key inventions that created the Industrial Revolution.
In the beginning of the nineteenth century factory working conditions were bad. Diseases that
occurred in the occupation were at a high risk also with, accidents and harsh discipline. These were
the physical affects of the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, but with them were issues with
social class consisting of moral degradation, and female competition for male jobs. Also from the
factory style of life abortion was quite high and infant and child deaths were at the highest rate ever
recorded. (King Timmins 55)
Most 19th century factories were grim brutal places, and working conditions were harsh. The normal
factory worker contained a shift of 14 to15 hours. This is not to add that it might take the workers two
hours to walk there and back. Working conditions were so bad that it caused diseases. For

Attack on the World Trade Center
Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as a normal peaceful morning in the largest city in the United
States. New York City was just as busy as usual, all the hustle and bustle of the people headed to their
jobs, all the traffic going in and out of the World Trade Center. Millions of the people were in morning
rush hour on their way from their homes to work. The World Trade Center was a symbol of U.S.
power and financial strength, but that was about to change. A few minutes after 9:00 a.m., the sky was
not sunny and clear as it had just been minutes before. There was smoke, dust, and debris everywhere.
Two jet airplanes, hijacked by religious terrorists, crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade
Center and blowup. The impact left a gasping, burning hole in both of the towers, killing hundreds of
people almost instantly and trapping thousands more in higher floors. The collision caused a gigantic
explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. A third plane
hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.
America was under attack. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and
Washington D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. This lead to millions of
people trapped with no way of escaping the twin towers. They knew they would not make it back
home to their friends and family members. Can you imagine the feeling of knowing your

database did you use? What was your rationale for selecting this particular study to analyze over the
others identified in the search results? What is the full reference for the study in APA format?
When searching for research studies about Academic Clustering I used the SportDiscus through the
University of North Florida s Database. Using the terms Athletes and Academic Clustering. I chose
this article because I selected another one of their research studies and believe they provide a great
deal of background information on the topic as well as great research that can be used to improve the

What was the research question? (Some authors are more general and state only a purpose for the
research study. If so, indicate the purpose.)
The purpose of the study is to study academic clustering and race to determine whether it merits entrée
into discussions that traditionally centered on graduate rates, academic fraud and academic support
(2009, p.5). The three research questions they posed were; (1) Does academic clustering occur among
ACC football players? (2) Is there a difference of clustering when considering White and Minority
subgroups? (3) Are there multiple majors at these schools that exceed the threshold to be considered
clustered?.
4. What were the source of the data collected? For example, who were the participants? What was the
sample? What sites for research data collection were used? And/or What documents were studied?
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) consist of 12 schools at the time of this study in 2006. They
used data from 11 out of the 12 schools and used 394 upperclassman football players from these
schools. The sample contained 41.4% White players and 58.6% Minority players. They used media

In the ninth century, Vikings began to raid Ireland, eventually conquering and settling on the island.
The strong Irish culture influenced the Viking conquerors way of life, rather than an invader s long
term domination would suggest. Anglo Norman invaders arrived in Ireland in 1169, attempting to
colonize the island over the next 500 years. The invaders began to expand their influence across the
island by means of force. These attacks caused rebellions from the Irish people, as they were no
strangers to aggression from the East. Religious persecution of Catholic Irish grew in particular after
the accession of Elizabeth I, a Protestant, to the throne in 1558. Oliver Cromwell s subsequent siege of
Ireland in 1649 ended with massacres of Catholics at Drogheda and Wexford and forced the
resettlement of thousands, many of whom lost their homes in the struggle. By 1691, with the victory
of Protestant English King William III over the Catholic forces of James II, Protestant supremacy in
Ireland had become complete. Catholics in Ireland suffered greatly in the subsequent period of British
occupation, enduring laws that prevented them from bearing arms, holding public office and
restricting their rights to an education. While many of those rights were eventually restored, the
animosity between Catholics and Protestants remained. (Washington Post, 1999). A group of Irish

Jetblue Customer Service Delivery Breakdown
Introduction
This paper hopes to delve into the Jetblue Customer Service delivery breakdown, from February 14,
2007, that nearly caused the company to collapse. It will look at the customer service aspect and
compare the expectations of what the customer had come to expect and what the company actually
delivered. It will look into the customer service, that lead to JetBlue s early success and competitive
edge against other airlines. It will examine if the Low Cost Airline can continue to maintain its High
Frills Status. It will look at the impact the breakdown had on the customers, stakeholders, the role
ambiguity on how the employees and managers used to handle situations with their wait and see
mentality, and the lack of perceived situational control from its employees. We will attempt to predict
what JetBlue should try and prepare for and I will give my personal opinion on JetBlue s response to
the breakdown in service in regards to the customer service communication gap and my
recommendations with moving forward.
Airline Deregulation
In order to effectively evaluate the incident, the whole picture must be examined. A mere 20 years
after the Airline Deregulation Act in1978, which removed government control from the Civil
Aeronautics Board (CAB), which had up to that time controlled all entry and exit into the market,
pricing of services the airlines provided as well as mergers, and dealing with all customer issues

The Application Of Pedagogical Principles
Analyse the application of pedagogical principles in own area of specialism
Pedagogy is a word that is used to describe the art and science of teaching. Pedagogical roles are the
many and varied that a teacher may perform while teaching, such as structuring, soliciting, responding
and reacting. Other roles involve assessing, criticising, discussing, encouraging, enquiring, evaluating,
explain, giving individual instruction, lecturing, organising, presenting, questioning and answering,
repeating and reviewing and team teaching and tutoring etc.
(L.Walklin 2000; pg 175)
In my own specialist area (Maths) I used pedagogic technologies like Power points for delivering the
sessions, and for messages I would use E mail, SMS and Twitter. For assignments I would prefer my
students to use Digital library, E books, Websites and Newsfeeds. Sometimes I give tasks like
Statistical analysis, Data analysis, Spreadsheet, and Search engine to my learners to do independent
work on computers. I also do Computer based assessment tools e.g. multiple choice questions and
quizzes. I also involve my students to design their own Maths posters on specific topics using
computer design tools e.g. Presentation tools and Multimedia presentation.
1.2) Evaluate the effectiveness of use of creative and innovative approaches in own area of specialism
To make a purposeful, inclusive learning and teaching environment in my sessions I use a variety of

Deforestation Essay
Deforestation
Thesis:
Deforestation is one of the most significant issues of our time; considerable measures must be taken to
prevent further pillaging of our unique forest resource.
Ninety percent of the earth s trees between three and four hundred years old have been cut down. The
remaining ten percent is all we will ever have (Gallant, 97). The definition of deforestation by the
Random House Dictionary of the English Language is to divest or clear of forests or trees.

With new technology such as satellites systems, low altitude photography and side looking radar
scientists now figure that the world is losing about twenty million hectares of tropical forests annually.
It has been suggested that the high deforestation rates are caused partially by the fact that the new
surveys are more accurate and thus reveal old deforestation rates that were miscalculated with
previous methods (Westoby, 202). At first there was concern only among foresters about deforestation
but now the public has created organizations such as Green Peace to facilitate increased awareness and
reduce deforestation. The Food and Agriculture Organization (F.A.O.) has worked mainly within the
forestry community to find new and better ways to manage the forests. In 1985 there was the
introduction of the Tropical Forestry Action Plan or T.F.A.P. This plan involved the F.A.O, United
Nations, World Bank, other developmental agencies, and several other multi national government
organizations; together they developed a new strategy. More than sixty countries have decided to
prepare national forestry action plans to manage their forests (Gallant, 381). Tropical deforestation has
various direct causes: permanent conversion of forests to agricultural land, logging, demand for fuel
wood, forest fires and drought. Slash and burn clearing is the single greatest cause of tropical rain
forest destruction world wide. Air

Cons Of Book Censorship
Book censorship tries to shelter us from certain books that carry messages that are known as
controversial, but this promotes cleansing children from the harsh reality that we live in today.
Censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, and news. That are
considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. Book censorship has taken many
great works of literature away from us due to topics that may concern parents or school boards. These
topics include racism, sexual jokes or references, and many other messages that have a negative image
in the eyes of parents and schools. While some see book banning as an attack on their favorite book or
just to literature in general, others, mostly parents and schools, see censorship as the best way of
defending their children from the harsh reality that we live in today. Although some see book banning
as a strong attack against important history in literature, others, especially parents, see book banning
as protection from the cruel history our country has had. These inappropriate books could also affect a
child s view on the world. The biggest culprit of this scenario is racism, which is the one reasoning for
the banning of To Kill a Mockingbird and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Parents and schools are
worried that if children read a book with such racial tension and prominence, than the children
themselves will become racists. Stories like these could also confuse students into to

Increase The Toughness Of Steels After Quenching Process
Abstract:
Tempering is an important heat treating process, which is used to increase the toughness of steels after
quenching process. Hollomon Jaffe equation H=T(c+log⁡
t ) is widely used to predict hardness with
different tempering temperature and tempering time. T is the tempering temperature, t is the tempering
time and c is the constant for the specific steel. The physical explanation of c constant was not clear.
In this paper, the hardness and c/a ratio of tempered martensite for AISI 4140 were measured by X
Ray Diffraction and Rietveld refinement. The result reveals that the c/a ratio decreases instantly within
the first 60s tempering time. After analysis based on the experiment results and derivation of
Hollomon Jaffe equation, c, the parameter in Hollomon Jaffe equation, is found to stand for the slope
of carbon hardness curve.
Key words: Tempering, martensite, X ray diffraction, Hollomon Jaffe equation
1. Introduction
All steels that are hardened are subjected to a subcritical heat treatment referred to as tempering .
Tempering improves the toughness of as quenched martensite (body center tetragonal) but lowers
strength and hardness 1, . The microstructure transformation is very complex: Stage1: The formation
of transition carbides and lowering of the carbon content of the martensite to 0.25% (100 to 250℃)
Stage2: The transformation of retained austenite to ferrite and cementite (200 to 300℃) Stage3: The
replacement of transition carbides and low temperature

Summary Of The Man In The Water By Roger Rosenblatt
Emergencies always seem to bring out the most amazing qualities in people. In the article, The Man in
the Water , the author, Roger Rosenblatt, writes about the crash of Air Florida Flight 90 and the
unknown man who saved many lives that day. Rosenblatt uses comparisons, quotations, and tone to
show a contrast between the plane crash and the man in the water, belittling the crash and elevating
the man to a heroic status. Rosenblatt uses multiple comparisons in the article to support his views on
the crash. In fact, the first sentence of the article, as disasters go, this one was terrible, but not unique,
certainly not among the worst on the roster of U.S. air crashes, is a comparison (Rosenblatt 1). This
sentence immediately lowers the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the author writes, there was nothing very special in any of it, except death, which, while always
special, does not necessarily bring millions to tears or to attention, he is writing his opinion of the
plane crash (Rosenblatt 1). The author s tone in this sentence is indifferent, almost to the point of
callousness. It shows his lack of interest in the crash, and he writes that it is not really that important.
The author also writes his opinion on the man in the water s sacrifice, writing, the man man in the
water pitted himself against an implacable, impersonal enemy; he fought it with charity; and he held it
to a standoff. He was the best we can do (Rosenblatt 3). The author s tone here suggests that the man
in the water was fully conscious of his decision to fight nature and in fact volunteered to do so, all
while knowing he would not survive. He then goes on to state that this selflessness is the best of all
possible human reactions to the event. This further glorifies the man, now to perfection. The author s
tone throughout the article gives great insight into his beliefs on the subjects of the disaster of Air
Florida Flight

Analysis Of Xenon In Violation Of The Nuclear Agreement
Summary:
Tehran is comprised of a various number of research centers where they perform different experiments
using different natural radioisotopes. Based on the data found in the research the agency in charge of
nuclear energy use decided to check for themselves to see whether or not Tehran was in violation of
the Nuclear Agreement. To determine whether or not Tehran was in violation of the Nuclear
Agreement, investigators calculated the decay series of their allowable radioisotopes and the
radioisotopes in violations . Using the final products to compare to the isotopes found at the site. After
the decay series of Xenon 133 the isotope Cesium 133 is formed which was one of the isotopes found
at the site, because this was an allowable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[7] In late 2003, the Agency took samples from both the solution containing the plutonium and the
shielded boxes used in the experiments. However, inconsistencies in the isotopic composition of the
samples brought up questions about the origin of the material.( Tehran Nuclear Research Center 2 )
The research center started conducting an experiment with their Tehran Water Reactor starting in
1968. They applied the elects of uranium and plutonium by manipulating the structure of the element.
First they decided to separate the plutonium from the UO2 and then they moved to convert and enrich
the uranium. Regardless, these experiments were allowed and approved because they were funded by
world superpowers(The US and Japan and China).
Findings:
According to the technical data information, the allowable radioisotopes in Tehran were Uranium 238
and Xenon 133. While the restricted radioisotopes that were in violation were Plutonium 239 and
Polonium 208. The two Isotopes discovered at the site were Lead 204 and Cesium 133. The first
allowable radioisotope, Uranium 238 has a half life of 4.5 billion years, decaying 14 times in order to
be in a more stable isotope Lead 206. The second acceptable radioisotope, Xenon 133 has a half life of
5.5 years, decaying once and releasing a gamma ray. After this decay series, Xenon 133 becomes a
more stable Cesium 133 which was one of the radioisotopes discovered at the site which means

Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway Essay
Soldier s Home by Ernest Hemingway
In Soldier s Home, Ernest Hemingway depicts Harold Krebs return home from World War I and the
problems he faces when dealing with his homecoming and transition back towards a normal life. After
the fighting overseas commenced, it took Krebs a year to finally leave Europe and return to his family
in Oklahoma. Once home, he found it hard to talk about all he had seen in his tour of duty overseas,
which should be attributed to the fact that he saw action in some of the bloodiest, most crucial battles
towards the culmination of the war. Therefore, Krebs difficulty in acknowledging his past is because
he was indeed a good soldier (139), whose efforts in order to survive The Great War, were not ... Show

This is why he could not love anymore; the mere thought of it nauseated him. He could not assimilate
back into living a regular life with the thoughts of regular men. In seeing so much that should be out
of the ordinary, he never wanted to deal with common human issues again, not to mention
consequences. Krebs relationship with his sister is probably his best with anyone in the house. This is
most likely due to the fact that she is around 11 years old and is infatuated with her older brother.
When she talks about telling her friends where she learned to pitch a ball, she says I tell them all you
re my beau. Aren t you my beau, Hare? (139). This type of talk does not bother Krebs in this situation,
unlike the girls whom he refuses to talk to in his town. His sister is pre pubescent, so she has unlikely
developed the body of a woman and also, she shows improbable signs of having sexual urges by
asking him if she is his girl and if he will love [her] always (140). By observing the problems Krebs
has with his own family members after the war, one can understand why his problems communicating
in the outside world, with strangers, exists.
While living at home and re adjusting to what had been his old life, Krebs could not even interact with
other people, specifically the girls, that lived in his town; never mind having a conversation with

Economics And Classical Liberal Economics
After World War II, Keynesian policies had dominated the economic system in most countries around
the world. However, this soon changed after the oil crisis in the 1970 s and after government
intervention was blamed for stagflation, paving the way for the rise in neoliberal economics
dominated by Thatcherism and Reaganomics. The difference between neoliberal economics and
classical liberal economics is the rejection of Adam Smith s theory of the invisible hand of supply and
demand and believe it will worsen the economy. However, even though neoliberal economics thrived
during the 1980s and 1990 s, the 2008 financial crisis has questioned whether limiting government
interventionism in the economy was one of the reasons why banks were allowed to act recklessly
(Economist, 2013), leading to the return of Keynesian economics in countries such as the UK with the
Labour Party electing Jeremy Corbyn as the leader. Critics such as Friedman argue otherwise and
point out the issues created by monetary and fiscal policy and an economy can only thrive with
freedom. This essay will evaluate whether the neoliberal theory against interventionism helps the
economy or does it lead to the downfall of the economy.
Neoliberal economics was highly influenced by the works of Milton Friedman. He believed that
economic freedom is when consumers have the freedom to buy and sell whatever they think best
meets their needs (Gintis, n.d.) and this is a component of freedom properly understood

The Zoo Controversy Essay
Everybody s been to the zoo; they ve either enjoyed a dolphin show, or fed the penguins. Zoos have
been a part of American culture for centuries. At first, a zoo could be seen as nothing more than a jail
cell for animals, but today, zoos are being completely transformed. What used to be confined cages are
now being revolutionized into acres of land for different species to reside in. The opponents of zoos
feel that they are inhumane and harmful to animals. However, zoos are beneficial for several different
reasons, including, animal conservation and captive breeding, scientific studies, healthcare, and
education. Daniel Martin, writer for mailonline.com, wrote an article about Angela Smith who works
as a Labor s Charities Minister. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Currently, animals in zoos are kept in well clean, vast areas of land where they are free to roam around
in a habitat where they feel comfortable. According to a TIME Magazine article, The San Diego Zoo
spent 3.5 million dollars to construct a mock forest for five bears (Gibbs). The exhibit includes trees, a
waterfall, and even an electronic honey dispenser. According to the article, [w]hen the lush exhibit
opened this summer, zoogoers loved it, and so did the bears. They shredded the trees and rolled in the
sod, (Gibbs). Instead of the small cages and foul odors that most people associate with zoos, many
zoos spend a large sum of their budget on keeping their facilities pristine. Animal habitats are now
bigger than ever, and more importantly, cleaned multiple times a day, along with the animals regular
feedings. This further proves that zoos have made drastic improvements over the introductory zoos
most people associate with. Contrary to what Smith believes, zoos are actually very beneficial for
animals, one of the main reasons being conservation of species in zoos. Since their beginning in
Europe in the mid 19th century, zoos have improved drastically; back then, zoos were merely for
entertainment, where as now zoo owners are more aware and concerned with the welfare of their
animals (Masci). With the endangered species list rising every year, it is imperative that scientists
remain conscious of the number of

Aviation Legislation Term Paper
The Federal Aviation Act of 1958
ASCI 254 12/09/14
It has always been the dream of mankind wanting to join the birds in the sky, many innovators created
various contraptions to achieve flight. On December 17, 1903, two brothers by the name of Wilbur
and Orville Wright decided to test their contraption and it was successful. This event changed the
course of aviation as the contraption known as Flyer 1 became the first successful powered heavier
than air flight.
During the course of World War I, airplanes proved to be a useful tool for the military. With the
introduction of airmail planes were now utilized for commercial purposes. The Air Mail Act of 1925
gave birth to the airlines and passenger ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A total of 128 people died and was the first crash to have more than 100 deaths. To better understand
what happened, it is helpful to look at how ATC had done things at the time. ATC had only provided
separation to aircrafts under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and not aircrafts under Visual Flight Rules
(VFR). Also the separation of aircraft was limited to controlled airspace. (Lawrence, pg186) Although
both planes took off with an IFR flight plan, when they leave the controlled airspace they must not use
the see and avoid technique which is still a common practice today. Both aircrafts were in an area of
clear weather with little build up and in uncontrolled airspace. This means that they were to apply the
see and avoid technique, neither did. The Crash Investigation panel suggested that the towering
cumulus might have obscured the aircraft from each other. (Lawrence, pg187)
There still was the problem of the military and civilians using the airspace under different sets of rules.
In 1957, a DC 7 with a crew of four and no passengers had a mid air collision with an Air Force F 89
with a crew of two. Both airplanes were on test flights. The tragedy was actually when the airplanes
collided; the debris fell onto the occupied school ground of Pacoima Junior High. Three boys were
killed and 71 injured. It took two more midair collision between a military jet and a commercial

German encrypted code. There were 10,000 people that were a part of the Bletchley Park operation. In

daily rotor settings. This is the most well known way of breaking code, but this was not the only way
to break code during World War II. German s had increasingly capable versions of Lorenz Cipher

German s also broke US code during Operation Paukenschlag, and broke Soviet and Danish code

Cultural Immersion And Misconceptions
Cultural Immersion Reflection Paper
RJA spoke of the role that religion and spirituality plays in his life and confirms that while his family
adhere to many Catholic traditions, that he and his family are not religious. We do believe in a Higher
Power that is aligned to the Christian/Catholic perspective, but I consider myself non religious . He
goes on to say that when he has children he will encourage them to find their own spiritual path.
We continued to discuss perceptions and misconceptions of his culture and he explained that this is a
very personal subject for him, along with racism and the aftermath of Hurricane Maria which recently
did tremendous damage to his beloved island. Because of this, we spent the rest of our interview
discussing it. One of the biggest misconceptions for RJA personally is the assumption that other
people make when they meet him that because he is black he cannot be Puerto Rican. He finds this
ignorance absurd and dislikes people being put into boxes . There are millions of Afro Latinos
throughout Latin American and the United States and he objects to them not being treated as such and
considered different from other Latinos. He stated that many Puerto Ricans in the United States
downplay or deny the African root of their culture and it is very disheartening to him. RJA has
experienced racism in many ways himself and it was interesting to hear him say that he has been
discriminated against by African Americans when they find out I am actually Hispanic, and by
Hispanics who initially think I am African American. He finds it strange and sad that several white
Americans he has encountered somehow feel more comfortable around him and open up about
controversial topics related to race when they find out he s not African American. He quotes the words
of Jose Marti, a Cuban patriot, who used to say with regards to his fellow Cuban countrymen: More
than white, more than black: we are Cubans . I would be remiss not to mention RJA s thoughts of the
recent devastation of his beloved island after Hurricane Maria struck in September, 2017. The island is
still reeling from the effects of the storm and more than 80% of the island is still without power.

In Hills like white elephants we identify six stages of human grief regarding to dying, and loss: denial;
isolation; anger; bargaining; depression and finally acceptance. Hemingway apparently innate
understanding and dramatization, of these stages of grief.
The first thing that comes to mind during the stages of Hill Like White Elephants was denial. There
are many significant ways that denial has been portrayed throughout the novel. When we go further
into details about the title of the story is explains it all of what we are expecting HIlls . The first
thought before I began to read the story was the title I began to realize that this story will have
moments it ups, and down. Those ups and downs lead into a problematic figure of denial between the
main antagonist Jig. While reading Novel from start to finish Jig has been denied from the reality of
life. I have come to a conclusion of this when secondly, the American as came has an attachment to

The American summarizes their relationship together. In the book the girl looks off the hills of a line
of hills and describes how they look like white elephants. In page 182 she says I ve never seen one,
the man drinks his beer. This show the grief of tension and denial, but also an interpretation of a baby
coming to life, especially from the man when he drinks the beer. This shows denial of what he is

Today we are going to discuss the ways in which artificial intelligence and virtual reality will change
education and healthcare globally. But first what do we mean by the word artificial intelligence and
virtual reality, both of them have really captured the attention of education sector as well as the health
sector. They have realized the great potential artificial intelligence and virtual reality have in their
sectors.
Artificial intelligence is intelligence portrayed from machines that are capable of undertaking tasks
that usually require human intelligence while Virtual reality is a computer generated simulation of our
environment in a 3 dimensional image using modified electronic equipments.
Artificial intelligence and virtual reality are revolutionizing the education and healthcare system. Day
by day the technology being used keeps on advancing so as to better serve the students in the
classroom to help them improve in their education. And also in hospitals to improve the medical
services offered.
The adoption of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in schools and hospitals is on the rise, doctors
are looking for ways to solve the patient s problems through artificial intelligence and virtual reality
and also teachers are looking for ways to improve their student s grades and make learning enjoyable
and fun through the use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

Global Fiscal And Money Related Framework Essay
There is an essential contrariness between the achievement of worldwide monetary strength and
having a single national currency play out the part of the world s reserve cash. This is not another
disclosure. However, occasions of a previous couple of months have brought this theme over into the
spotlight.
Born in Belgian, American economist Robert Triffin initially highlighted this contrariness in the
1960s. He watched that having the US dollar play out the part of the world s reserve currency made
essential irreconcilable situations amongst national and universal financial and economic goals. From
one viewpoint, the global economy required dollars for liquidity purposes and to fulfill interest for
save resources/assets. In any case, this constrained, or possibly made it simple, for the US to run
reliably massive current account deficits. (CANAVAN).
Every global fiscal and money related framework needs to depend on at least one universal currency
so as to permit financial specialists to interface in the global economy by utilizing such coinage as a
method of payment, a unit of record or a store of significant worth. At the point when these global
currencies are additionally local ones, the supply of global liquidity comes from at least one center
nations. Furthermore, when the center governments work as a restraining infrastructure or semi
imposing business model, after some time they tend to exploit other countries high reliance on their
local cash. By misusing this

Who wouldn t want to be healthier, more fit, and happier? You work out at the gym for hours on end
but you don t quite have the results you want. All those things I previously listed can be attained by
simple diet changes! Unfortunately, because of the processed and fast lifestyle we live now having a
healthy diet can be challenging. It s much easier to grab a McDouble when you re late to work than it
is to take the time to make a healthy sandwich. It might seem just like a little action, but over time,
these actions become habits. Unhealthy eating habits can be detrimental to a person s well being and
for that reason, I m going to tell you about the benefits of healthy eating, (Transition: Before we can

Comparing Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet
First of all, where does carnivalesque come from? This concept was coined by Mikhail Bakhtin who
said it embodied life taking from of a typical carnival. The way things are obscured, or not how they
typically would be, essentially life turned inside out is the idea of carnivalism. Without carnival, life
remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what is natural life
(Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnival elements to represent
Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the inebriation of
festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words indicate, hide
identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque
307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and Juliet, calling into
question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through their meeting.
Carnivalism is effective for Romeo and Juliet because it allows for further analysis to take place of
meaning and emotion in situations, [provoking] an active response, leading us to make certain
connections perhaps hitherto unexplored... creating a highly energetic, primarily ... Show more content

Romeo, who up to this point shows himself as a sort of delinquent by taking drugs, as well as taking

ideal role as a courtly knight (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque

Purposes of Subscription Library
Following the years of revolution, the eighteenth century was relatively stable and peaceful age.
General improvement of life and urbanisation led to increase in the amount of spare time and money.
The commercialisation of the leisure also made recreational activity more affordable, especially for
the new middle class constituted by professionals. Their new vulnerable status in the society led them
to seek their own culture, such as participation to society activities and enrolment to the subscription
library. Subscription Library was first established in Liverpool in 1758, and it spread across Britain,
growing the number of subscribers along the way. It was essentially a private library, requiring a
payment of a guinea for entry and another ten shillings or so for the annual subscription fee. In turn,
the members were allowed access to the permanent collection of the books. In this essay, I would like
to discuss the possible purposes of the subscription library in the eighteenth century, by studying the
library catalogues and regulations. Firstly the library s role in the associationalism and the polite
culture would be considered. Then I would like to discuss how the library served as a place of forming
a uniformed society, offering useful knowledge and promoting equality. Lastly, its exclusiveness
would be studied. The purpose of the subscription library could be best explained as a part of the
associationalism culture and the desire for the polite society.

Motion in Space: Velocity and Acceleration
In this section, we will learn about:
The motion of an object using tangent and normal vectors.
MOTION IN SPACE: VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
Here, we show how the ideas of tangent and normal vectors and curvature can be
used in physics to study:
 The motion of an object, including its velocity and acceleration, along a space curve.
VELOCITY AND ACCELERATION
In particular, we follow in the footsteps of
Newton by using these methods to derive
Kepler s First Law of planetary motion.
VELOCITY
Suppose a particle moves through space so that its position vector at
time t is r(t).
VELOCITY
Vector 1
Notice from the figure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
 So, C=i j+ k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
It follows: v(t) = 2t2 i + 3t2 j + t k + i j + k
= (2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Since v(t) = r (t), we have: r(t) = ∫ v(t) dt
= ∫ [(2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k] dt = (⅔t3 + t) i + (t3 t) j + (½t2 + t) k + D
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
Example 3
Putting t = 0, we find that D = r(0) = i.
So, the position at time t is given by: r(t) = (⅔t3 + t + 1) i + (t3 t) j + (½t2 + t) k
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The expression for r(t) that we obtained
in Example 3 was used to plot the path of the particle here for 0 ≤ t ≤ 3.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
In general, vector integrals allow us to recover:
 Velocity, when acceleration is known
v(t )
v(t0 )
t t0
a(u ) du
 Position, when velocity is known
r (t ) r (t0 )
t t0
v(u ) du
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
If the force that acts on a particle is known, then the acceleration can be found from
Newton s Second Law of Motion.
VELOCITY ACCELERATION
The vector version of this law states that if,
at any time t, a force F(t) acts on an object of mass m producing an acceleration a(t),
then
F(t) = ma(t)

Introduction Over the past several decades, the forces of rapid economic and technological change, the
influx of women and minorities into the workforce, the economic shift to a post industrial, global
economy and an investment market emphasis on short term profits combined to reshape organizations.
Major components of the change included organizational restructuring, the erosion of employee trust,
increasingly greater workforce diversity and the emergence of work teams as drivers of firm
performance. Concurrently, many women in organizations, mostly confined to the lower and middle
management levels and in the majority of firms denied any opportunity to move

Romeo And Juliet 1968 Vs 1996
The 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet is more tightly; aligned to what Shakespeare intended in
consideration of the setting, Juliet s impression, and verbal exchanges. When analyzing each film, it is
clear to see the same plot, just portrayed differently. To begin, the settings of both films took place at
the Capulet s home where Romeo came to meet Juliet. While the 1968 film took more of an authentic
path, the 1996 film took an modern path. In the 1996 film, the main setting was the pool, which strays
from the play because it is the balcony scene. It looked as if there may have been a balcony, but that
was just a window opening and not a true balcony. This film was much more out in the open, with
security cameras to create more tension; comparatively, the 1968 film was much more secluded and
hidden by trees. In this film Juliet is on a large balcony which coincides with The Balcony Scene in
the original play; henceforth making the 1968 film more closely aligned to the ... Show more content

In both films Juliet has two emotions running through her: excitement and caution. She is excited and
cautious about meeting with Romeo. In each film, she wore a white dress, which symbolizes pure and
innocence, but in the 1996 film, Juliet does not act so innocent. Juliet looks much older than fourteen
in the the 1996 film and portrays she knows and has experienced more. In the 1868 film, Juliet is
much younger and portrays a fourteen year old being more innocent. In both films Juliet is excited to
see Romeo, but she are realizes it won t be acceptable. Romeo and Juliet do not think of the
consequences first. In the 1968 film Juliet is more cautious than the 1996 film. She is more aware
what they are doing is wrong whereas the 1996 film Juliet is much more open to them being together.
In the end, the 1968 film portrays Juliet more closely aligned compared to the 1996 film because of

The Industrial Revolution And The American Revolution
The industrial revolution was not only technological revolution but a social one that would lie
foundation that would grow the word revolution exponentially. The industrial revolution brought with
it change, whether that change was positive or negative is questionable however it did change the
world as it was known. In both England and the United States of America strong industrial revolutions
struck, the revolutions would change roles in the household and society for both women and me and
the ideologies held about gender roles. In both countries effected by the revolution, industrialization
challenged religion and authority, the impact of which can still be seen today.
The industrial revolution in both the United States and England relied heavily on roles in the
household and society. Men, woman, children and minorities all had a set place in society before the
industrial revolution. During the revolution and sense of enlightenment changed the roles of these
individuals. In the middle of the 1800 s there was change in the role of men, the workplace was no
longer a farm or working in the town, rather men were expected to be entrepreneurs. Men, unlike
woman, were seen as aggressive and built to work in a savage work place were they could bring home
the bread for the family. In England several factory jobs were quite laborious, as well as in the US,
however many emigrants that came to the United States had a different sense of what labor as a man
meant. Labor was no longer

This was one of my favorite movies when I was a teenager. The song plays in the movie while Gabrielle s friends are telling her that if she dates Troy, the popular basketball player, it will mess us the status quo. In a cute dance number they break out in song in the cafeteria singing. From watching that movie, I already had an understanding of what I needed to reflect on. I am a very organized person. At the beginning of the semester, I read through the syllabus. I knew that we would have a reflection paper on the course, so I have been preparing all semester to write this paper. Every chapter I read and summary I completed, I would jot down concepts and ideas that stuck with me. I took this class because it was a requirement for my ASL minor. I did not realize what I was going to learn and I think that worked out well in the end. In August, I was aware of Deaf culture. I knew the difference between little d and big D of deaf. I had been exposed to certain aspects through my past professors like Danny Roush, who is a CODA. This campus has a tight knit bond between the Deaf community and students. Gasoline was gravity fed into the engine from a quart and a half tank that was mounted on a wing strut of an upper wing. From there, the gasoline fell into a chamber next to the cylinders (a piston chamber in a combustion/steam engine) and mixed with air. The crankcase would then vaporize the gasoline/air mixture and the mixture would pass into the cylinders. Now that the mixture was in the cylinders, the plane could be started and clone, but to start the engine initially, the Wright brothers had to use a coil and four dry cell batteries that were not kept on the ... The Industrial Revolution Essay The Industrial Revolution Going to work for a full day isn t much fun after working fifteen hours the day before! 60 70 hour work days are never pleasant in anybody s mind. • 5. Attack on the World Trade Center Tuesday, September 11, 2001, began as a normal peaceful morning in the largest city in the United States. New York City was just as busy as usual, all the hustle and bustle of the people headed to their jobs, all the traffic going in and out of the World Trade Center. Millions of the people were in morning rush hour on their way from their homes to work. The World Trade Center was a symbol of U.S. power and financial strength, but that was about to change. A few minutes after 9:00 a.m., the sky was not sunny and clear as it had just been minutes before. There was smoke, dust, and debris everywhere. Two jet airplanes, hijacked by religious terrorists, crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and blowup. The impact left a gasping, burning hole in both of the towers, killing hundreds of people almost instantly and trapping thousands more in higher floors. The collision caused a gigantic explosion that showered burning debris over surrounding buildings and the streets below. A third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. America was under attack. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. It will look at the customer service aspect and compare the expectations of what the customer had come to expect and what the company actually delivered. It will look into the customer service, that lead to JetBlue s early success and competitive edge against other airlines. It will examine if the Low Cost Airline can continue to maintain its High Frills Status. It will look at the impact the breakdown had on the customers, stakeholders, the role ambiguity on how the employees and managers used to handle situations with their wait and see mentality, and the lack of perceived situational control from its employees. At first there was concern only among foresters about deforestation but now the public has created organizations such as Green Peace to facilitate increased awareness and reduce deforestation. • 14. Cons Of Book Censorship Book censorship tries to shelter us from certain books that carry messages that are known as controversial, but this promotes cleansing children from the harsh reality that we live in today. Censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, and news. That are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. Book censorship has taken many great works of literature away from us due to topics that may concern parents or school boards. These topics include racism, sexual jokes or references, and many other messages that have a negative image in the eyes of parents and schools. While some see book banning as an attack on their favorite book or just to literature in general, others, mostly parents and schools, see censorship as the best way of defending their children from the harsh reality that we live in today. Although some see book banning as a strong attack against important history in literature, others, especially parents, see book banning as protection from the cruel history our country has had. These inappropriate books could also affect a child s view on the world. The biggest culprit of this scenario is racism, which is the one reasoning for the banning of To Kill a Mockingbird and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Parents and schools are worried that if children read a book with such racial tension and prominence, than the children themselves will become racists. • 15. Increase The Toughness Of Steels After Quenching Process Abstract: Tempering is an important heat treating process, which is used to increase the toughness of steels after quenching process. Hollomon Jaffe equation H=T(c+log⁡ t ) is widely used to predict hardness with different tempering temperature and tempering time. T is the tempering temperature, t is the tempering time and c is the constant for the specific steel. The physical explanation of c constant was not clear. In this paper, the hardness and c/a ratio of tempered martensite for AISI 4140 were measured by X Ray Diffraction and Rietveld refinement. The result reveals that the c/a ratio decreases instantly within the first 60s tempering time. After analysis based on the experiment results and derivation of Hollomon Jaffe equation, c, the parameter in Hollomon Jaffe equation, is found to stand for the slope of carbon hardness curve. Key words: Tempering, martensite, X ray diffraction, Hollomon Jaffe equation 1. Introduction All steels that are hardened are subjected to a subcritical heat treatment referred to as tempering . However, this soon changed after the oil crisis in the 1970 s and after government intervention was blamed for stagflation, paving the way for the rise in neoliberal economics dominated by Thatcherism and Reaganomics. The difference between neoliberal economics and classical liberal economics is the rejection of Adam Smith s theory of the invisible hand of supply and demand and believe it will worsen the economy. However, even though neoliberal economics thrived during the 1980s and 1990 s, the 2008 financial crisis has questioned whether limiting government interventionism in the economy was one of the reasons why banks were allowed to act recklessly (Economist, 2013), leading to the return of Keynesian economics in countries such as the UK with the Labour Party electing Jeremy Corbyn as the leader. Critics such as Friedman argue otherwise and point out the issues created by monetary and fiscal policy and an economy can only thrive with freedom. This essay will evaluate whether the neoliberal theory against interventionism helps the economy or does it lead to the downfall of the economy. Animal habitats are now bigger than ever, and more importantly, cleaned multiple times a day, along with the animals regular feedings. This further proves that zoos have made drastic improvements over the introductory zoos most people associate with. Contrary to what Smith believes, zoos are actually very beneficial for animals, one of the main reasons being conservation of species in zoos. Since their beginning in Europe in the mid 19th century, zoos have improved drastically; back then, zoos were merely for entertainment, where as now zoo owners are more aware and concerned with the welfare of their animals (Masci). With the endangered species list rising every year, it is imperative that scientists remain conscious of the number of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

History of the Faa Aviation Legislation Term Paper The Federal Aviation Act of 1958 ASCI 254 12/09/14 It has always been the dream of mankind wanting to join the birds in the sky, many innovators created various contraptions to achieve flight. On December 17, 1903, two brothers by the name of Wilbur and Orville Wright decided to test their contraption and it was successful. This event changed the course of aviation as the contraption known as Flyer 1 became the first successful powered heavier than air flight. Also the separation of aircraft was limited to controlled airspace. (Lawrence, pg186) Although both planes took off with an IFR flight plan, when they leave the controlled airspace they must not use the see and avoid technique which is still a common practice today. Both aircrafts were in an area of clear weather with little build up and in uncontrolled airspace. This means that they were to apply the see and avoid technique, neither did. The Crash Investigation panel suggested that the towering cumulus might have obscured the aircraft from each other. (Lawrence, pg187) There still was the problem of the military and civilians using the airspace under different sets of rules. In 1957, a DC 7 with a crew of four and no passengers had a mid air collision with an Air Force F 89 with a crew of two. Both airplanes were on test flights. We do believe in a Higher Power that is aligned to the Christian/Catholic perspective, but I consider myself non religious . He goes on to say that when he has children he will encourage them to find their own spiritual path. We continued to discuss perceptions and misconceptions of his culture and he explained that this is a very personal subject for him, along with racism and the aftermath of Hurricane Maria which recently did tremendous damage to his beloved island. Because of this, we spent the rest of our interview discussing it. One of the biggest misconceptions for RJA personally is the assumption that other people make when they meet him that because he is black he cannot be Puerto Rican. He finds this ignorance absurd and dislikes people being put into boxes . There are millions of Afro Latinos throughout Latin American and the United States and he objects to them not being treated as such and considered different from other Latinos. He stated that many Puerto Ricans in the United States downplay or deny the African root of their culture and it is very disheartening to him. RJA has experienced racism in many ways himself and it was interesting to hear him say that he has been discriminated against by African Americans when they find out I am actually Hispanic, and by Hispanics who initially think I am African American. He finds it strange and sad that several white Americans he has encountered somehow feel more comfortable around him and open up about controversial topics related to race when they find out he s not African American. He quotes the words of Jose Marti, a Cuban patriot, who used to say with regards to his fellow Cuban countrymen: More than white, more than black: we are Cubans . I would be remiss not to mention RJA s thoughts of the recent devastation of his beloved island after Hurricane Maria struck in September, 2017. • 29. Global Fiscal And Money Related Framework Essay There is an essential contrariness between the achievement of worldwide monetary strength and having a single national currency play out the part of the world s reserve cash. This is not another disclosure. However, occasions of a previous couple of months have brought this theme over into the spotlight. Born in Belgian, American economist Robert Triffin initially highlighted this contrariness in the 1960s. He watched that having the US dollar play out the part of the world s reserve currency made essential irreconcilable situations amongst national and universal financial and economic goals. From one viewpoint, the global economy required dollars for liquidity purposes and to fulfill interest for save resources/assets. In any case, this constrained, or possibly made it simple, for the US to run reliably massive current account deficits. (CANAVAN). Every global fiscal and money related framework needs to depend on at least one universal currency so as to permit financial specialists to interface in the global economy by utilizing such coinage as a method of payment, a unit of record or a store of significant worth. At the point when these global currencies are additionally local ones, the supply of global liquidity comes from at least one center nations. • 36. Comparing Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet First of all, where does carnivalesque come from? This concept was coined by Mikhail Bakhtin who said it embodied life taking from of a typical carnival. The way things are obscured, or not how they typically would be, essentially life turned inside out is the idea of carnivalism. Without carnival, life remains as usual and therefore it is impossible to point out the obscure nature of what is natural life (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 304). Luhrmann had used many carnival elements to represent Romeo and Juliet in his film version, offering a counterproposition where, in the inebriation of festivity, societal roles are inverted and where masks and disguises, as the words indicate, hide identities, including sexual identities, rather than exposing them (Johae, Bakhtinian Carnivalesque 307). By using this, Luhrmann created a new perspective on the love of Romeo and Juliet, calling into question the validity of their love, or even the carnival brought about through their meeting. Carnivalism is effective for Romeo and Juliet because it allows for further analysis to take place of meaning and emotion in situations, [provoking] an active response, leading us to make certain connections perhaps hitherto unexplored... creating a highly energetic, primarily ... General improvement of life and urbanisation led to increase in the amount of spare time and money. The commercialisation of the leisure also made recreational activity more affordable, especially for the new middle class constituted by professionals. Their new vulnerable status in the society led them to seek their own culture, such as participation to society activities and enrolment to the subscription library. Subscription Library was first established in Liverpool in 1758, and it spread across Britain, growing the number of subscribers along the way. It was essentially a private library, requiring a payment of a guinea for entry and another ten shillings or so for the annual subscription fee. In turn, the members were allowed access to the permanent collection of the books. In this essay, I would like to discuss the possible purposes of the subscription library in the eighteenth century, by studying the library catalogues and regulations. Firstly the library s role in the associationalism and the polite culture would be considered. Then I would like to discuss how the library served as a place of forming a uniformed society, offering useful knowledge and promoting equality. Lastly, its exclusiveness would be studied. The purpose of the subscription library could be best explained as a part of the associationalism culture and the desire for the polite society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It follows: v(t) = 2t2 i + 3t2 j + t k + i j + k = (2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k VELOCITY ACCELERATION Example 3 Since v(t) = r (t), we have: r(t) = ∫ v(t) dt = ∫ [(2t2 + 1) i + (3t2 1) j + (t + 1) k] dt = (⅔t3 + t) i + (t3 t) j + (½t2 + t) k + D VELOCITY ACCELERATION Example 3 Putting t = 0, we find that D = r(0) = i.
