Example Of Pyramid System
A hierarchical system in a company does not allow for growth within that company, along with not
utilizing every employees skills. A system related to this will typically look a pyramid an owner on
top, then trickles down to vice president, CFO s, COO s, then continuing with positions along the lines
of, general manager, assistant manager, and shift manager. Towards the bottom of a pyramid system
will be your full time employees and if you have part time employees they might be even lower.
Pyramid system was used in the article Pyramids and Pancakes by Michael Lewis, which Lewis seems
to imply that a pyramid system is an unpleasant work environment for employees towards the bottom.

Therefore the bosses do not apply everyone s strengths, which would enable more growth. Instead a
pyramid system, bosses make the decisions on what is right and what is wrong, or what the employees
should or should not do for the company. An example of a pyramid system preventing workers from
doing good work is a journalist, named Suarez, who ultimately ended up hating his job because of the
boss and the profit hungry people in charge. In Good Work, Well Done: A Psychological Study by
Howard Gardner, Suarez, who was a journalist for a pyramid system was incharge of a story about the
dangers of video games. However, Suarez soon discovers that there is little truth to this story and does
not want to continue to write the story. When Suarez tried to abandon the story, Gardner explains
Suarez had tried to get out of covering the story, but his boss insisted that he go on and file it (4).
While Suarez was working in a pyramid system where his boss is supposed to be the expert in the
company however, he demands Suarez to cover a story about video games being harmful to kids,
because that will make the most

The Music And Arts Festival
Go with the flow I have been to multiple concerts before but nothing compares to the Resonance
Music and Arts Festival, a weekend long camp out of like minded, motived, music loving individuals.
In simpler terms, modern day hippies. These hippies focus more on medication, dancing, and yoga as
a way to reach the ultimate state of joy. The people around me, the clothing they wore, the smell of
weed that filled the air, and the music that blared through the speakers were all things I will never
forget about that summer weekend. The life style of hundreds of individuals in a crowd was different
from anything I had ever laid my eyes on. Although I never imagined to be in a new environment, I
had no choice. I My dad works for Budweiser, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suddenly I could not take my eyes off what was in front of me. Hammocks were hung from trees and
even hung from car mirrors. There were hippies sleeping in, and on their cars. I saw people cooking
on small grills, selling food right from the trunk of their car. A simple sign that read, Fish tacos. I was
memorized by all the booths that lined the entrances of Legend Valley. People sold paintings, jewelry,
tie dyed bags, shirts, skirts, and head bands. I made my dad stop at one booth because I saw a dress
that I absolutely loved. It was priced at $30. When I paid for my purchase the woman expressed how
grateful she was that I was buying her clothing because that is how she made a living. She told me the
story of how she lives in her car, and travels to these festivals. I felt sad for a brief moment until I
realized this was her calling and she was truly happy. It inspired me to appreciate the little things that
surround me.
Also there were hundreds of tents on the opposite side of our camper, each one a bright color with
some article of tie dye draped over it. In front of the tents sat chairs, empty. I asked my dad, Where is
everyone? He just chuckled and said, You ll see them when we attend the concert.
When we made our way back to the camper, there was a car full of young modern day hippies parking
next to us. My eyes wondered to each

The Electric Vehicle Essay
The Electric Vehicle
The technology of electric vehicles has been around since the turn of the nineteenth century but faded
as the gasoline powered engine took the spotlight. Now the future of electric vehicles is very bright.
Their impacts are very significant ranging from economic, to new technology that can be applied
elsewhere, to most importantly, the environment. Ford and GM, through its Saturn plant, have already
begun production on their own version of the electric vehicle and have made them available to the
public. In 1998 California plans to have one percent of its major auto makers sell electric vehicles and
other states have looked into the same possibility, mainly Massachusetts and New York. Imagine

The mandate is set to take effect in 1998 in California and as many as five other states have
considered adopting the ZEV mandate for themselves, with New York already mandating the policy.
Several auto makers have filed suit against the ZEV mandate, but the latest rulings have gone against
the auto makers.
In 1989, Los Angeles City Council member Marvin Braude issued a worldwide bid for 10,000 electric
vehicles to be delivered to southern California in the mid 1990 s (Sperling 1995). The bid was met
with major skepticism from major automotive companies about the market for the electric vehicles,
and the bid was granted to Clean Air Transport, an Anglo Swedish company with a small number of
employees. The company spent millions to build a hybrid electric gasoline car but could not get any
funding to begin manufacturing. As a result, the company simply disappeared in the early nineties, but
it did not matter because by this time the major auto makers had taken interest.
Elsewhere in the world, many other countries were also experimenting with electric vehicles. British
manufacturers never stopped producing these vehicles and had turned out several thousand electric
milk delivery trucks a year. By 1990 it was estimated that 33,000 of these were on England s roads. In
Japan, major auto makers had indulged themselves in the development of the electric vehicle during
the 1970 s, but backed off their efforts in the 1980 s only after they had built a small

The Rise of a Mash-up Culture Essay
A great deal has been said about the move from physical media to a ubiquitous, digital culture. Some
decry the downfall of the vinyl record, falling compact disc sales, the cheapening and degrading of an
art form. I ll try to stay away from unverifiable judgements about the direction modern culture is
moving in. More interesting is the way musical creation is changing as a result of new technologies,
whether we like it or not. What comes to mind is hyperreality what Jean Baudrillard called the
generation by models of a real without origin or reality (166). Digital representations, originally
intended to recreate the original sound waves of the music, are losing their point of origin and
becoming musical works on their own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its pointless to look for the original blueprint of a digital representation, because it s independent of
the hardware it s stored in, and meaningful only in the information it encodes. Hyperreality results
from a loss of distinction between the representations and the things they re intended to represent. In
our culture, the separation between a song and the digital file of a song is becoming trivial. Computers
allow information to be torn free of its original context, and reinterpreted upon retrieval.
Representation engines are the ideal enablers of hyperreality, giving almost limitless power to reorder
simulacra upon simulacra.
The internet takes the representational capacities of computers, and spreads them over a vast symbolic
network. Anyone with an internet connection instantly gains manipulative control over a whole world
of digital abstractions. These have the unique property of not being tied down to any specific physical
origin. It follows that they re infinitely recreatable, and intimately tied to their user defined context.
This decontextualization began, to a lesser extent, with the advent of audio cassettes, allowing the
creation of mix tapes. A mix tape lets the listener take small parts (usually whole songs) from different
physical source material (records), and combine them into a new whole, consisting of copied parts.
This process, known as dubbing, creates an experience that is, at least in part, distinct from each

Natural Gas and Its use as a Alternative Fuel Compared to Gasoline Have you ever confused the terms
Natural Gas and Gasoline ? Well don t, because they are two very different types of gases. Natural gas
and Gasoline are considered fossil fuels to most scientists because it is believed they were formed
from the remains of sea animals and plants that died 200 400 million years ago. These sea animals
were then covered by layers of sediment and rock over time which caused them to become buried
deeper and deeper, until enormous amounts of pressure and heat turned them into oil and gas. Raw
natural gas is a mixture of different gasses and the main ingredient is methane, a natural compound

They also set off small explosions or drop heavy (Preston, Benjamin I Feel Gassy 5.8.12)
weights on the surface and record the sound waves as they bounce back from the sedimentary rock
layers underground. (www.NEED.org 2011). Scientists may also measure the gravitational pull of rock
masses deep within the earth, yet the most widely used and effective way of finding
Natural gas is by drilling down through the layers of sedimentary rock to reach the rock formations
that contain oil and gas deposits. After natural gas comes out of the ground, it goes to a processing
plant where it is cleaned of impurities and separated into its various components.
Now, the type of natural gas that goes into automobiles is called Liquefied Natural Gas, or
LNG. The process for making LNG starts the same way as producing natural gas, except the natural
gas is cooled to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. By doing this, the natural gas changes into
LNG and its volume is reduced 600 times. Another exceptional way Natural gas is found is by 3
D and 4 D seismic imaging. This technique uses powerful technology from computers to help
determine accuracy in whereas to drill. Another technique used to find natural gas is called
Hydraulic fracturing. . This involves the injection of more than a million gallons of water, sand and
chemicals at high pressure, down and across into horizontally drilled wells as far as 10,000

The Marketing Strategy Of Whirlpool Corporation
In the United States, the cooking industry is a mature market with high penetration, therefore,
replacement product is significantly important to the industry. The United States has three major
manufacturers for domestic production; Whirlpool, General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance
industry is changing and become more competitive with the influence of Asian competitors,
specifically, LG and Samsung is importing appliances into the United States. Subsequently, in January
2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase of General Electric Appliances, finalizing
the contract, Monday, June 6, 2016 (Thompson, 2016).
Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances (Innovation at the Pace
of Life, 2016). Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest manufacturer, they do not dominate all
markets, as they do in North America. In North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast
brand portfolio, consisting of seven brands (Fettig, 2016). In 2006, the United States Department of
Justice approved the acquisition of Maytag Corporation by Whirlpool (Henriques, 2006). The
acquisition served a two fold purpose, seating Whirlpool in the number one market share position in
North America and adding strong brands such as Maytag, Jenn Air, and Amana to the portfolio. A
series of acquisitions is accelerating growth for Whirlpool and ensuring global market leadership.

The Pros And Cons Of Absolutism
Absolutism, a form of government where the rulers word is law. All aspects are decided by the one in
charge and his word is absolute. In this form of government the ruler will typically have trusted
advisers but besides simple recommendations they have no real power. An absolute government has
all aspects such as religion, political standing and economy decided by its ruler.
In 1961 thomas hobbes wrote that the passions that incline men to peace are the fear of death. When a
man wants something he can fight and take a chance to get it. Most men fear that chance as they may
die and lose everything, but the thought of coming out on top is enough to encourage these actions in
individuals. These individuals can incite others who would have normally turned down the challenge.
In a case when the odds are not in favor of those goals set by an individual leading others one must not
hesitate with what must be done. Hobbes understood that if there was no concise ruler that there was a
sort of stutter when doing things taking action required to go through the proper channels. When 10
men are in control they must all agree but when only one man is in control all that must be done is let
them decide entirely.
When Bossuet talks about power he states that it must be employed with fear and self restraint as it is
a blessing bestowed upon the ruler by god. Bossuet says that the throne is not for man but a place for
man to speak the will of god. Unlike in absolutism Bosset says that these

Human Trafficking And The United States Essay
Human trafficking doesn t happen in third world countries only. It doesn t just happen to poor people
and it certainly doesn t solely happen to women. It is present here in the USA but it is hidden, and
even worse, so are their victims. They are everywhere yet invisible. They are silently crying for our
help through their eyes and smiles. According to Polaris, ...the prevalence of sex trafficking in the
United States is still unknown, we do know that women, children, and men are being sold for sex
against their will in cities and towns in all 50 states . Human trafficking can happen to anyone even to

Theresa was a good catholic girl. Her faith was important to her. She went to mass on Sundays, her
mom was very involved in the community and her dad had a very important job. Her family was the

Analysis Of Nel Cor Pi Non Mi Sento
Nel cor più non mi sento by Giovanni Paisiello The composer of Nel cor più non mi sento is Giovanni
Paisiello, an Italian opera composer born in 1740. Giovanni s musical talent was discovered when his
singing ability was revealed while at school. As a result, Giovanni was sent to the Conservatory of
Dan Onofrio at Naples. While in school, he composed multiple intermezzi, which garnered enough
attention to grant him the opportunity to write two operas. Giovanni s career advanced from there,
spending time composing in Russia, and Vienna before returning to Naples; he also had a spent a short
amount of time in Paris. Ultimately, over eighty different operas are credited to Paisiello as well as
many smaller works. This particular song, Nel cor più non mi sento comes from his 1788 opera L
amor constrastato, more commonly known as La Molinara. In this comedy opera, three men (Don
Calloandro, Don Rospolone, and Pistofolo) fall for mill owner Rachelina. Issues arise since
Calloandro is set to marry his cousin Eugenia, and both Calloandro and Rospolone reveal their
affection for Rachelina to Pistofolo. Within the opera, Nel cor... is sung by Rachelina with a second

Characteristics Of Modern Christianity
1. A Unique and Important Practice in Modern Christianity
There are many Christian practices, all of the diversified importance to the lives of the believers of the
faith. These variegated practices are what differentiates Christians from people of other faiths, and
gives them autonomy. According to Craig Dykstra, Christian practices are not activities we do to make
something spiritual happen in our lives. Nor are they duties we undertake to be obedient to God.
Rather, they are patterns of communal action that create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy,
and presence of God may be made known to us (Spiritual Practices, n.d., p. 1).
Therefore, Christian practices are the daily engagements that believers of the faith undertake in line
with what is expected of them. This paper will discuss fasting as a practice in modern Christianity that
is unique and important to the faith of believers and will provide a summary describing fasting, how it
developed, and why it is significant in the lives of at least some contemporary Christians. In addition,
this paper will also discuss Evangelicalism as a movement within Christianity which started within the
past 200 years, having distinctive beliefs, and impact on modern and contemporary Christianity
(Christendom).
One practice in modern Christianity that is unique is fasting (Colbert, 2006). Often, fasting is related
to a person lacking or rather, doing without food, however, this is not the case. Through

Satire Definition Essay
Humor, for many, is a cheap laugh and a way to brighten someone s day. But for others, humor goes
beyond that. Often times in today s world, humor is used to convey messages about dangerous or
impossible to state topics. Society allows humorists to speak about unpalatable topics since the
delivery of the message is masked. Humorists take difficult messages and use creative humor to make
them more accepted into society.
Have you ever read a statement that made you double take because it said one thing, but meant
opposite? That is called satire. Satire presents a surface level message, but really, in the subtext, the
meaning was the opposite of what it seemed. Satire is seen in the world all around us. For example A

Hollywood is notorious for taking dangerous or impossible ideas and masking them with humor. Some
may argue that the film industry only seeks laughter using vulgarity or toilet humor. Movies such as

What Does My Mom Mean To Me
It is a Saturday morning around ten o clock, and I am sitting by the door crying because I do not want

Conclusion
The risk of skipping planned project activities as listed by Robert Wysocki (2009, pp.283 288) is a big
threat for the likelihood of future problems. This is the case with 2 projects in South Sudan. The first
had close out problems because client condition of satisfaction for deliverables was not documented at
the start of the project, nor was it tracked, updated, discussed and agreed. During close out, senior
management from the client and contractor blamed each other for not having a plan making close out
a war of words to be settled by an Arbitrator. Also, another project, although with a documented close
out plan that was reviewed and updated on a monthly basis, did not include an agreement as to who
would be the receptor of project asset. This brought chaos during closure when government claimed
all assets should be turn over to them and the donor refused, simply because there was no indication of
this in the close out document. If close out activities are not performed before closing the project the
risks are very highly likely to have more threats than opportunities.

Juveniles Tried As Adults With Criminal Justice System
Juveniles Tried as Adults in Criminal Court Approximately two million adolescents a year are arrested
and out of that two million, 60,000 of them are incarcerated according to the American Journal of
Public Health. The 60,000 incarcerated adolescents each year are being tried as adults in court because
of the serious crimes they have committed. The crimes they have committed are anything from armed
robbery to murder. Some juveniles might be first time offenders and others might be repeat offenders.
Crimes have always been a major issue in the United States and can cause controversy in the criminal
justice system. Charging a minor as an adult in criminal court varies from state to state based on each
state s jurisdiction. Some states consider anyone up to the age of 18 still a juvenile and would not be
charged as an adult in criminal court, but other states may charge a juvenile as an adult at the age of 16
or 17. Jordan (2014) states, Although states already had methods for transferring youth to the adult
system, as a result of the growing fear of juvenile violence, most states implemented new laws to
increase the number of youth entering the adult criminal system (Bernard Kurlychek, 2010; Torbet et
al., 1996) (p. 315). While it sounds beneficial to incarcerate more adolescents in the adult criminal
justice system to avoid juveniles from committing crimes in the future, that is not always the case.
Incarcerating these juveniles can be life changing in a negative

Audre Lorde s Essay On Intersectionality
Audre Lorde s essay on intersectionality highlights the point that there is not a single issue fight
because we do not live day to day with our single issue lives (Lorde, pg 654). Acknowledging that we
are beneath the dominant class is important to reconstruct the structural power. Intersectionality
requires power that fortifies how our differences come together on both an individual level an a
collective foundation. There are many issues we tend not to even look at because the women that it
affects usually have always been overlooked for the dominant groups oppressed world (Lorde, pg
656). I think intersectionality is a very important component in feminism because without it you re

The babysitter responds with it s the law, you know. So God is protecting me. This response brings up
the concept that Muslim women are childlike needing to be saved. An intersectional translation of
islamophobic misogyny. I believe this scene particularly highlights the point that gender trumps
religious faith and ethnicity. Johnson Reagon says that a coalition is not a home and should not feel
comfortable (Reagon, pg 259). This film debunks the myth that all women share a common
experience simply by being a female. (Reagon, pg 360). However, when we see all women get
together, we begin to see the differences between all of us including race, sexuality, status, age, able
ism, etc. I believe Pierre standing up for a man in this scene shows that he was aware of the difference

Private Schools And Public Schools

The government is the reason we have order, safety, schools, roads, and many more things that we don
t think too much about in our everyday lives. There are two branches of government the Democrats,
and the Republicans. Our president, Donald Trump, is a republican. He believes in more investment in
our military than our schooling. We already took a pay cut in our schooling system because of that,
and the money that is going towards our schools are either going to public or private schools. But is it
really necessary for the government to fund private schools when students already have to pay tuition?
The government should be funding more towards public schooling.
By funding private schools, what will happen to the public schools that rely on that money from the
government to provide an education to the students in their community? What if the public schools
close, and the only other option that is reasonably close is a private school? A lot of people cannot
afford the tuition cost of private schools. The average cost of a private elementary school in Michigan
is 9,000 dollars per year. When kids move up to high school the cost jumps up to 13,500 dollars per
year. (Average Private School Cost, 1) Most middle class families cannot afford the tuition, and also
any extracurricular activities such as volleyball, or track. The average person in Michigan makes about
73,000 dollars per year (pay scale, 1). Depending on how many kids

The Life Expectancy Of The 1900 S
The life expectancy in the 1900 s was fifty years old. A hundred years later, the life expectancy has
expanded to the late eighties and early nineties. In the 1900 s people weren t as blessed and fortuitous
to have the things we use today. Back then people had to deal with the fact that they couldn t be cured
of certain diseases, or illnesses that came across them. Today is different. In the 20th Century, the
world has become a healthier place, so much that the lifespan has elevated by almost thirty years. With
the help of doctors, technologists and other professionals who work in the medical field, substantial
advancements in the health sciences are helping physicians to better appraise and target specific
conditions that will trend and have the potential to result in broaden lifespans.
I strongly believe that people can live longer and healthier lives with the use of technology. People
have always debated that if we eat healthy and exercise wouldn t we be able to live longer? The
answer is yes, but only if we put in the time and effort to live a sustaining and healthier life. But eating
healthy and exercising aren t the only things that could help us live longer, its technology. Technology
has come a long way in the medical world, and now doctors and ourselves use it all the time. This new
form of mechanization is everywhere, and I believe we should be taking full advantage of it, because
in the long run it could save us and help us in the future.

Gender Roles in Sitcoms
Gender roles in Sitcoms
Gender is the crucial factor in characterization in the majority of sitcoms. Up until the impact of
feminism in the 1970s, in the UK at least, it is clear that most of the successful sitcoms featured
leading male characters (Hancock, Steptoe, Dad s Army, Till Death Do Us Part, Porridge etc.). Women
were more likely to feature in ensemble casts The Rag Trade, Are You Being Served? This was also a
function of the employment opportunities for women. Since the 1970s, women in leading roles have
been more common (but the most successful comedies have tended to be based on couples rather than
single women). (Roy Stafford, TV Sitcoms and Gender, ONLINE)

Other characters include sardonic butler Niles (Daniel Davis), and Maxwell s socialite business

The Nanny is no longer the type of sitcom where the wife stays at home and just her husband goes to
work. Compared with Bewitched , this sitcom is more modern and more different in what concerns the
gender roles. Fran Fine is no longer just a home loving wife who does everything to support her
husband, but she exposes her point of view and most often she dose so as everyone to do as she wants

The Effects Of Sports Related Concussions On Central...
ABSTRACT
Sport related concussion is a common injury amongst athletes. This study was conducted in order to
investigate whether or not sport related concussions had an effect on central auditory processing
abilities. The study implemented a case control study design. Two hundred athletes were selected to
participate in this study. One hundred participants served as the case group and had sustained two or
more sport related concussions in a three year period. The other one hundred participants served as the
control group. Concussions were identified by a team physician using the SCAT3. All participants
completed an auditory processing disorder test battery consisting of the PPT, RGDT, Dichotic Digits
Test, CST, Nu 6 Low Frequency Filter Test and a MLD test. An independent samples t test was used to
determine the results.
INTRODUCTION
In 2006, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that approximately 1.6 million to
3.8 million sport related concussions occur each year in the United States (Langois, Rutland Brown,
Wald, 2006). Sport related concussions are a subset of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and are defined
as a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain (McCrory et al., 2012). The typical signs
and symptoms associated with a concussion include confusion, amnesia, headache, dizziness, nausea,
loss of balance, and/or poor concentration (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010).

Do you have a dog? Do you ever want to bring your dog somewhere they can have safe fun? A dog
park is a great place to bring your dogs that is safe, there is many benefits of dog parks. A dog park is
a fenced in place for dogs to play, get exercise, and make friends. The community needs one, so there
s a place for owners and dogs can go. Dogs can get exercise off leash that is normally hard to do
safely. Many people hear the bad rap about dog parks like that there s many dog fights, it s not clean,
and people don t watch their dogs. Actually dog parks are very good, if they are run right. Both would

There would need to be rules and restrictions so it would run well. First thing Glenwood would have
to do is find a location for the park. It needs to be a big open area, that could be fenced in. It should be
close to houses for easy access but not to close where it s too loud for the neighborhood (Weiss
Roessler para 6). A perfect place in Glenwood would be in Barsness park on the north end, it s a big
grassy open area. It s in town but not too close to houses, it across the street from the lake, and close to
the camp ground so visitors can access it easily. The second thing Glenwood would need to do is to
write up rules so the park is orderly and safe. Some rules may be like, Clean up and dispose of feces
left by your dog (Dog Park Rules para 2). Simple rules like this will keep the park clean and safe. The
rule should be listed on a sign at the park and must be followed. The sign should have rules for the
dogs and the owners (Sheeketski para 7). A rule for the human could be like, the owner should be
watching at all times, and the dog rules could be that there are no aggressive dogs allowed. Those are
just two simple rules that will make the park better. The last thing Glenwood would need is people to
work together. To get the park going there needs to be a group of people willing to talk to town
officials, fund, and help run it. A group would have to go talk to the city and get it approved with
them, the more people the more the city is going to believe that it is great idea (Weiss Roessler para 4).
More dog loving people will have to help fund the park, the city may help. If the city doesn t totally
fund it there can be fundraisers that will help pay for the fencing, the sign of rules and anything else in
the park (Para 6). After the park is up and running there should be volunteers to help run it, they could
stop by and make sure it is clean and be the ones to contact if there are any issues with the park. The

Examples Of Medical Malpractice
Medical Malpractice: Michael Chambers informs you about everything you need to know
Medical malpractice is an example of negligence that may cause a severe personal injury or death.
Precisely, medical malpractice denotes a legal offense that happens if a medical professional does not
perform his or her duties properly due to negligence. As it has been pointed out before, the result of
medical negligence is injury or death. Medical professionals include doctors, nurses, dentists,
chiropractors, opticians, pharmacists etc.
In Cyprus, medical malpractice is covered by the civil law (Cap.148). However, many times, a
medical malpractice case in Cyprus considers a dispute over the standard of care . The term standard
of care denotes the level of skill, expertise and care practiced by medical professionals under some
particular circumstances. In Cyprus, standard of care is often determined through consultations from
medical professionals who practice or teach medicine in the same specialty as the defendant. The
expert s testimony is essential since a lack of recovery or injury does not imply that the standard of
care has not been followed.

Effect of Using a Hand-Held Cellular Phone and Listening...
The effect of using a hand held cellular phone and listening to radio broadcast on driving performance
will be explored. There are many careless drivers on the road who are mostly talking on the hand held
cell phone. It is predicted that using a hand held phone would take the driver s attention away and
would cause driving slowly. Since many accident reports show that cell phone use while driving is
dangerous it is questionable if listening to radio will also be detrimental on driving task. Many people
turn on the radio for entertainment or to fight from drowsiness especially if there is no other passenger
in the vehicle. It is predicted that having a conversation with using a hand held cell phone while
driving will decrease the driving performance, while listening to a radio broadcast will not have
significant effect. Important implications for the results for driving performance and for future
research will be discussed. The Effect of Using a Cell Phone and Listening to Radio on Driving
Performance Many researchers agree that numerous drivers engage in dual task that includes eating,
talking or listening to radio, which take away their visual attention (Ünal, Platteel, Steg Epstude,
2013). It is suggested that talking and driving at the same time increase the risk of accident and that it
produces the same consequence of driving while intoxicated (Atchley, Dressel, Jones, Burson

Synthesis Of Methyl Cinnamate
Introduction
The ester that was developed throughout the entire lab is known as methyl cinnamate. Methyl
cinnamate is an ester that is created when cinnamic acid is mixed with methanol and sulfuric acid (see
Scheme 1). Around the world, methyl cinnamate is found in a variety of plants and fruits such as
strawberry or cinnamon. The plant most used to collect higher concentrations of methyl cinnamate is
the Eucalyptus olida with a concentration of 98%. Due to the fact that the ester comes from a cinnamic
base, the ester contains a sweet strawberry aroma mixed in with a bit of cinnamon. The sweet fruity
smell of the ester is used heavily in the flavoring and the perfume industries (1). This methyl
cinnamate was an off white solid color and consisted of fine, white particles that clumped together in
certain spots. Scheme 1. Synthesis of Methyl Cinnamate
Results and Discussion
A. Synthesis of Ester The synthesis of the ester had no conceivable procedural changes. The creation
of the ester could be deemed a success as the percent yield came out to a total of 42%. From a mixture
of 1.51 grams of cinnamic acid, 4.05 mL of methanol, and 20 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid, a total
of 0.68 grams of ester was produced. The 42% yield came from dividing the actual mass of the ester
(0.68 g) by the theoretical yield, which was calculated by the formula weight and the amount of moles
used. The produced ester, as mentioned above, was an off white color and had

Egyptian Cuisine During The Arab Republic Of Egypt
The unique Egyptian cuisine has been influenced throughout history, particularly by its neighbors
from the Middle East. Those contries that have influenced include Persians (modern day Iraqis),
Greeks, Romans (modern day Italians), Arabs, and Ottomans (from modern day Turkey) first
influenced Egyptian cuisine thousands of years ago. More recently, the foods of other Arabic people in
the Middle East such as the Lebanese, Palestinians, Syrians, as well as some foods from Europe, have
affected the Egyptian diet.
Rice and bread remain staple foods, and molokhiyya(a spinach like vegetable) and ful mudammas
(cooked, creamy fava beans), a national dish.
The Arab Republic of Egypt is located in the northeastern region of the African continent, bordering
both the Mediterranean and Red Seas. The climate is extremely dry and most of the country receives
less than one inch of rainfall each year. The widespread lack of rainfall makes it extremely difficult to
grow crops. Egypt has no forests and only 2 percent of the land is arable.
The Nile River, the longest river in the world, runs north and south through eastern Egypt and empties
into the Mediterranean Sea. Approximately 95 percent of the country s population lives alongside the
Nile River. This is why the Egyptian cuisine is so high in fish.

one of the world s first nation states. Ancient Egypt had some of the earliest

Explain The Humanistic Approach In Health And Social Care
The humanistic approach is a person centred approach which depends on trust between the patient and
care giver. It is useful because it is non intrusive and it gives people a choice to change their life. It is
also used in lots of situations, this shows it is used often. However, it ignores people s behaviour and
is short term so this can affect the care given as the carer won t keep an eye on the behaviour which is
very important to observe when providing care. The behavioural approach only involves looking at
behaviour which is being observed. It is easy to understand and is a natural approach so you can t
really tell how someone actually feels because they might do something else. It also doesn t rely on
communication a skill which makes it easier for the health carer and patient if they are not able to
communicate well. However, this approach doesn t involve looking at what is occurring inside

The Botany Of Desire Summary
Potato: Control
Sweetness, beauty, intoxication, and control. These are the four topics of desire that Michael Pollan
talks about within his memoirs in The Botany of Desire. All four desires are told through powerful
euphemisms in relation to plants that we have come to know as domesticated. In regards to our
modern relationship with plants, the apple, tulip, marijuana, and potato are perhaps some of our most
treasured allies. This could not be truer than that relationship in which we have with the potato. That
relationship has lasted for thousands of years, and its genetic makeup has been the conversation of
many farmers around the world. The potatoes birthplace with the Incans proved to be a time of high

and a need to feed a growing population, the potato has experienced a decrease in the amount of
varieties that are cultivated.

Traditional agriculture, however, wasn t done with monoculture. Incans proved that a diversity of
potatoes, when farmed the right way, yielded higher harvests. Diversity is the argument for non
traditional, or non monoculture farming; diversity in species and methods. When faced with a deadly
virus or disease, a whole monoculture can simply die out. This was the problem with Irish potatoes,
which forced the largest emigration of recent memory. What s more, is that today s monocultures are
chemically treated in such a way to avoid the problem that plagued the Irish. Soil, in all of its natural
life giving diversity, has become barren, unable to support any type of crop without the intensive
additions of fertilizers and with them, chemicals. Harvested food has become unsafe to eat unless
treated again, with more chemicals. It s easy to see that monocultures are may not be the best solution
that is needed for a hungry

Importance Of Artificial Intelligence
What was once just a figment of the imagination of some of the most famous science fiction writers,
artificial intelligence ( AI) is taking root in our everyday lives ( Science Fiction to Reality 1). Artificial
Intelligence is a machinery which includes network and a probabilistic model. Artificial intelligence is
the computer that can now spontaneously translate spoken and written conversation. It can also
recognize and accurately cations photos, identify faces and can be your personal assistant. Artificial
intelligence has specific technologies, like the machine learning methods called neural network, that
can be trained from massive data sets to recognize objects in images or to understand spoken words.

It is important to notice that Artificial intelligence is an important part of many people s lives.Artificial
intelligence helps make a difference in people s lives.Think about this, imagine a world without
technology, we would be lost because our lives are based on technology because they make people s
lives better and easier. Artificial intelligence makes a huge impact on many people s lives in many
aspects which make their lives more valuable. Think about this, without artificial intelligence then the
lives of people would be horrendous. Would you want your world to be horrible while watching other
places have advanced technology? Artificial intelligence doesn t only help make your life better and
easier, it also does things that humans can t so. Secondly, artificial intelligence is smarter than human
and can do the thing that humans can do and cannot do. Computer intelligence has been growing over
the years and soon they would be smarter than us. For example, ... Computer power has doubled every
18 months since 1956....The resulting intelligence gap between machines and people, Bostrom said..
(Rise of the Machines 1). This shows that with the technology we have we can make these amazing
artificial intelligence that can outsmart us and can help us with our life. Imagine this with these
technologies our country would be the best country ever. We could use the technology to help us with
our lives. We could

Advantages Of Multiplier

Abstract: A processor consumes considerable amount of processing time in performing arithmetic
operations, particularly multiplication. Multiplication is one of the basic arithmetic operation and
makes use of more hardware resources and processing time than addition and subtraction. In fact,
multiplication is 8.72% of all the instruction in typical processing unit. In this paper comparative study
is done of four multipliers namely, Array multiplier, Modified booth multiplier, Wallace tree multiplier
and modified Booth Wallace tree multiplier based of various performance parameters like speed, area,
power consumed and circuit complexity .
Key words : Array Multiplier, Modified Booth Multiplier, Modified Booth Wallace tree Multiplier,
Wallace tree Multiplier

The Modified Booth multiplier design uses a modified Booth encoder and selector technique to reduce
and rearrange the partial products. This reduces the number of gate count and improves the
performance of the multiplier. The Booth encoder encodes the multiplier bits using Radix 4 or Radix 8
algorithm. A k bit binary number can be interpreted as a k/2 digit Radix 4 number, a k/3 digit Radix 8
number and so on, that deals with more than one multiplier bits in each cycle for using high radix
multiplication [6].
The modified Radix 4 Booth algorithm is widely used when the operands are equal to or greater than
16 bits. In this algorithm, the two s complement of a multiplier is encoded in order to reduce the
number of partial products that needs to be added. The multiplier, Y can be written in two s
complement form as: [8]
Y= Yn 12n 1+ ΣiYi2i ; 0 ≤ i ≤

caused by the developing of events industry. If a region spend too much time and expenditure on
developing events industry, it will create a unbalanced development, it will displace some traditional
business and make some other basic industries growth rate declined, the growth rate of events industry
will decrease because it could not develop without enough supports from other basic and traditional
industries. Social impacts A big event can always bring a lot of benefits to the society of the host city,
holding an event means there will be more opportunities of jobs for the citizens in the city and it will
increase employment. The events industry will induce a development of investments in a city, In 3
Beijing Olympic Games 2008, China invested nearly $40 billion in infrastructure alone from 2002

The Voyager Project
Voyager 1, launched over 35 years ago, reached the barrier between our solar system and the vast
unexplored interstellar space beyond in August 2012. Imagine the stories that probe could tell! As the
Titan Centaur rocket boosters rattle to life beneath it the intrepid robot takes off for a record breaking
40 year trip alone in space, going places no man made thing has gone before. There will be tales of
Jupiter and Saturn s fascinating moons and atmospheres, the amazing discoveries concerning solar and
galactic wind at the edge of the heliosphere, solar intensity and power production. Voyager 1 will

Many questions posed by scientists about Saturn s atmosphere had gone unanswered for many years,
because, like with Jupiter, photos from Earth had not been of high enough quality. The Voyager probes
were able to fix that. Information relayed back to Earth from the two probes (which reached Saturn
nine months apart, Voyager 1 first in 1980, Voyager 2 in 1981) helped scientists get a much better
understanding. Though the atmosphere was expected to be quite similar in composition to the Sun and
to Jupiter, Saturn s atmosphere was actually quite different. There was significantly less Helium in
Saturn s outmost atmosphere, leading to many interesting conclusions, including that heavier Helium
was sinking lower in the atmosphere (Voyager Saturn, NASA). Saturn was also determined to have a
lighter density than any other planet and is, in fact, less dense than water. The varying composition of
the atmosphere also leant ideas to why Saturn was far warmer than expected, calculating temperature
based solely on solar energy, registering between 10 degrees Kelvin at the poles and 143 Kelvin closer
to the equator, according to Voyager 1 s radio measurements (these also measured pressure) (Voyager
Saturn, NASA). One of the other things determined by the Voyager probes was the extreme speed of
the wind on Saturn. Wind blows at speeds of about 500 meters per second near the equator (Voyager

Analysis Of Harry Potter, Hermione, And Ron Hunt Down The...
American author Deepak Chopra said, If you want to do really important things in life and big things
in life, you can t do anything by yourself. And your best teams are your friends and your siblings, . For
example, Mulan fought with her men to protect China, and Katniss fought for the destruction of the
Capitol with District Thirteen. Also, Bilbo and Thorin and Co. fought to get their gold back from
Smaug, yet the most important of all, the Arkenstone. In Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron hunt down
the Deathly Hallows. The similarity is high only because all hero stories follow the same monomyth
developed by Joseph Campbell. Both the Arkenstone and the Deathly Hallows serve a purpose and are
the cause of a quest; however, the Deathly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly enough, Harry also faces an opponent rivaling for the Deathly Hallows, and it is none other
than Lord Voldemort. The reader knows this clearly when he states that, You Know Who s after the
Elder Wand. (Rowling 431). The opposition, no matter what it is, if overcome will bring the same
amount of value into whatever the hero and villain are fighting for. Furthermore, the Arkenstone and
the Deathly Hallows die out. At the end of Harry s fight with Voldemort and the school year, he states
that, I m putting the Elder Wand, he told Dumbledore, who was watching him with enormous affection
and admiration, Back where it came from. It can stay there..., (Rowling 749). Considering that the
Elder wand came from a tree and trees all start in the ground, one might infer that Harry has buried it
or gotten rid of it in some way. Even though the Arkenstone wasn t destroyed, it was still made gone
when, They buried Thorin deep beneath the Mountain, and Bard laid the Arkenstone upon his breast.
(Tolkien 117). If the Arkenstone was simply buried in the mountain with no intention of being hidden,
one might assume that a prequel would come where the Arkenstone would be made important again.
In order for this to be avoided, the adjectives deep and beneath are added to show the foot down
effect. The reader then knows for sure that the tales of the Arkenstone done, and their quest

Choosing Carnegie Mellon
Why Carnegie Mellon is an important question to which has several answers. First being Carnegie
Mellon s history with Operations Research or the other names it goes by. Secondly is CMU s location
as it is important for several reasons. The third reason may be unconventional considering my other
two choices. With these three reasons make up my top three reasons for choosing Carnegie Mellon,
but they are not the only three. Beginning before World War 1 Carnegie Mellon was already making
itself known in an up and coming field called Industrial Research. At the Mellon Institute of Industrial
Research scientists solved specific problems that were presented to them. They used methods such as

The National Football League
My choice is the National Football League (NFL) which was founded on 20 August 1920. The NFL is
made up of 32 teams across the United States; each team has 53 players on the team at the start of the
regular season. The 32 teams are broken into two divisions; the American Football Conference (AFC)
and National Football Conference (NFC). The NFL original name was the American Football League
and the name was change on 22 August 1922 to the National Football League. The NFL is the only

The league is also in the process of try to ensure their five year deal does not expire with DirectTV
and other satellite providers. The NFL has already showed they are on top of the mountain by
occupying the top eight most watch spots on TV last year. A new labor deal. The 2011 collective
bargaining agreement ends in 2020. Labor peace is essential for the league s economic growth. Expect
Goodell and the owners to start trying to get a new deal done sometime well before the current one
expires (Burke, 2013). The NFL is working on signing with Verizon to incorporate their own mobile
network that will be worth somewhere around 1 billion dollars over five years. This product will
enhance the game by allowing the fans to watch more games on the move from cellphones and other
mobile devices. The NFL is working on make their fantasy football league more competitive and
competes with ESPN and Yahoo. The NFL s fantasy game, at 3 million players, is still well behind
ESPN and Yahoo YHOO 2.19%, which have an estimated 14 million and 12 million player,
respectively (Burke, 2013) . The league s fantasy football league can be worth around $100 million
dollars. Last but not least the NFL is try to expand the game into more countries; this process may
result in other teams that will bring more viewers and more revenue.

Extinction De-Extinction
De extinction offers the possibility for extinct species to be brought back to life by reproductive
cloning. Critics argue that de extinction will reduce the will of society to protect endangered species,
as well as harm the existing ecosystem upon species reintroduction. However, supporters argue that
many species would be great candidates for de extinction and will possibly be beneficial to the
ecosystem. I will argue that de extinction should not be pursued. I will argue that reintroduction of
unextinct species could cause humanity to become disinterested in protecting endangered species due
to the loss of finality of extinction. Furthermore, re introduction of extinct species into ecosystems
would negatively shift the balance, and may cause endangerment and potential extinction of otherwise
unharmed populations.
Some supporters of de extinction believe it to be reasonable for reviving recently extinct species as a
last resort in their conservation. However, it is a common belief among critics that it is of greater
import to protect endangered species and reduce human impact so as to prevent extinction. Shapiro, a
supporter of de extinction, argues that de extinction should not compete for funding with measures for
protection of endangered species. However, she argues that both extinct and extant species have
valuable roles in maintenance of the ecosystem (2015, p. 195). In the same paper, she admits that fears
for an increase in the rate of extinction are valid for

A system related to this will typically look a pyramid an owner on top, then trickles down to vice president, CFO s, COO s, then continuing with positions along the lines of, general manager, assistant manager, and shift manager. An example of a pyramid system preventing workers from doing good work is a journalist, named Suarez, who ultimately ended up hating his job because of the boss and the profit hungry people in charge. In Good Work, Well Done: A Psychological Study by Howard Gardner, Suarez, who was a journalist for a pyramid system was incharge of a story about the dangers of video games. However, Suarez soon discovers that there is little truth to this story and does not want to continue to write the story. When Suarez tried to abandon the story, Gardner explains Suarez had tried to get out of covering the story, but his boss insisted that he go on and file it (4). While Suarez was working in a pyramid system where his boss is supposed to be the expert in the company however, he demands Suarez to cover a story about video games being harmful to kids, because that will make the most ... The Music And Arts Festival Go with the flow I have been to multiple concerts before but nothing compares to the Resonance Music and Arts Festival, a weekend long camp out of like minded, motived, music loving individuals. In simpler terms, modern day hippies. These hippies focus more on medication, dancing, and yoga as a way to reach the ultimate state of joy. The people around me, the clothing they wore, the smell of weed that filled the air, and the music that blared through the speakers were all things I will never forget about that summer weekend. The life style of hundreds of individuals in a crowd was different from anything I had ever laid my eyes on. Although I never imagined to be in a new environment, I had no choice. I made my dad stop at one booth because I saw a dress that I absolutely loved. It was priced at $30. When I paid for my purchase the woman expressed how grateful she was that I was buying her clothing because that is how she made a living. She told me the story of how she lives in her car, and travels to these festivals. I felt sad for a brief moment until I realized this was her calling and she was truly happy. It inspired me to appreciate the little things that surround me. Also there were hundreds of tents on the opposite side of our camper, each one a bright color with some article of tie dye draped over it. In front of the tents sat chairs, empty. I asked my dad, Where is everyone? He just chuckled and said, You ll see them when we attend the concert. • 4. The Electric Vehicle Essay The Electric Vehicle The technology of electric vehicles has been around since the turn of the nineteenth century but faded as the gasoline powered engine took the spotlight. Now the future of electric vehicles is very bright. Their impacts are very significant ranging from economic, to new technology that can be applied elsewhere, to most importantly, the environment. Ford and GM, through its Saturn plant, have already begun production on their own version of the electric vehicle and have made them available to the public. In 1998 California plans to have one percent of its major auto makers sell electric vehicles and other states have looked into the same possibility, mainly Massachusetts and New York. The mandate is set to take effect in 1998 in California and as many as five other states have considered adopting the ZEV mandate for themselves, with New York already mandating the policy. Several auto makers have filed suit against the ZEV mandate, but the latest rulings have gone against the auto makers. In 1989, Los Angeles City Council member Marvin Braude issued a worldwide bid for 10,000 electric vehicles to be delivered to southern California in the mid 1990 s (Sperling 1995). The bid was met with major skepticism from major automotive companies about the market for the electric vehicles, and the bid was granted to Clean Air Transport, an Anglo Swedish company with a small number of employees. The company spent millions to build a hybrid electric gasoline car but could not get any funding to begin manufacturing. As a result, the company simply disappeared in the early nineties, but it did not matter because by this time the major auto makers had taken interest. Elsewhere in the world, many other countries were also experimenting with electric vehicles. British manufacturers never stopped producing these vehicles and had turned out several thousand electric milk delivery trucks a year. By 1990 it was estimated that 33,000 of these were on England s roads. In Japan, major auto makers had indulged themselves in the development of the electric vehicle during the 1970 s, but backed off their efforts in the 1980 s only after they had built a small ... • 5. The Rise of a Mash-up Culture Essay A great deal has been said about the move from physical media to a ubiquitous, digital culture. Some decry the downfall of the vinyl record, falling compact disc sales, the cheapening and degrading of an art form. I ll try to stay away from unverifiable judgements about the direction modern culture is moving in. More interesting is the way musical creation is changing as a result of new technologies, whether we like it or not. What comes to mind is hyperreality what Jean Baudrillard called the generation by models of a real without origin or reality (166). Digital representations, originally intended to recreate the original sound waves of the music, are losing their point of origin and becoming musical works on their own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its pointless to look for the original blueprint of a digital representation, because it s independent of the hardware it s stored in, and meaningful only in the information it encodes. Hyperreality results from a loss of distinction between the representations and the things they re intended to represent. In our culture, the separation between a song and the digital file of a song is becoming trivial. Computers allow information to be torn free of its original context, and reinterpreted upon retrieval. Representation engines are the ideal enablers of hyperreality, giving almost limitless power to reorder simulacra upon simulacra. The internet takes the representational capacities of computers, and spreads them over a vast symbolic network. Anyone with an internet connection instantly gains manipulative control over a whole world of digital abstractions. These have the unique property of not being tied down to any specific physical origin. It follows that they re infinitely recreatable, and intimately tied to their user defined context. This decontextualization began, to a lesser extent, with the advent of audio cassettes, allowing the creation of mix tapes. A mix tape lets the listener take small parts (usually whole songs) from different physical source material (records), and combine them into a new whole, consisting of copied parts. This process, known as dubbing, creates an experience that is, at least in part, distinct from each ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well don t, because they are two very different types of gases. Natural gas and Gasoline are considered fossil fuels to most scientists because it is believed they were formed from the remains of sea animals and plants that died 200 400 million years ago. These sea animals were then covered by layers of sediment and rock over time which caused them to become buried deeper and deeper, until enormous amounts of pressure and heat turned them into oil and gas. They also set off small explosions or drop heavy (Preston, Benjamin I Feel Gassy 5.8.12) weights on the surface and record the sound waves as they bounce back from the sedimentary rock layers underground. Scientists may also measure the gravitational pull of rock masses deep within the earth, yet the most widely used and effective way of finding Natural gas is by drilling down through the layers of sedimentary rock to reach the rock formations that contain oil and gas deposits. After natural gas comes out of the ground, it goes to a processing plant where it is cleaned of impurities and separated into its various components. Now, the type of natural gas that goes into automobiles is called Liquefied Natural Gas, or LNG. The process for making LNG starts the same way as producing natural gas, except the natural gas is cooled to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. By doing this, the natural gas changes into LNG and its volume is reduced 600 times. Another exceptional way Natural gas is found is by 3 D and 4 D seismic imaging. This technique uses powerful technology from computers to help determine accuracy in whereas to drill. Another technique used to find natural gas is called Hydraulic fracturing. . This involves the injection of more than a million gallons of water, sand and chemicals at high pressure, down and across into horizontally drilled wells as far as 10,000 feet ... The United States has three major manufacturers for domestic production; Whirlpool, General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance industry is changing and become more competitive with the influence of Asian competitors, specifically, LG and Samsung is importing appliances into the United States. Subsequently, in January 2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase of General Electric Appliances, finalizing the contract, Monday, June 6, 2016 (Thompson, 2016). In 2006, the United States Department of Justice approved the acquisition of Maytag Corporation by Whirlpool (Henriques, 2006). The acquisition served a two fold purpose, seating Whirlpool in the number one market share position in North America and adding strong brands such as Maytag, Jenn Air, and Amana to the portfolio. • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Absolutism Absolutism, a form of government where the rulers word is law. All aspects are decided by the one in charge and his word is absolute. In this form of government the ruler will typically have trusted advisers but besides simple recommendations they have no real power. An absolute government has all aspects such as religion, political standing and economy decided by its ruler. In 1961 thomas hobbes wrote that the passions that incline men to peace are the fear of death. When a man wants something he can fight and take a chance to get it. Most men fear that chance as they may die and lose everything, but the thought of coming out on top is enough to encourage these actions in individuals. These individuals can incite others who would have normally turned down the challenge. In a case when the odds are not in favor of those goals set by an individual leading others one must not hesitate with what must be done. Hobbes understood that if there was no concise ruler that there was a sort of stutter when doing things taking action required to go through the proper channels. When 10 men are in control they must all agree but when only one man is in control all that must be done is let them decide entirely. When Bossuet talks about power he states that it must be employed with fear and self restraint as it is a blessing bestowed upon the ruler by god. Bossuet says that the throne is not for man but a place for man to speak the will of god. Unlike in absolutism Bosset says that these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Analysis Of Nel Cor Pi Non Mi Sento Nel cor più non mi sento by Giovanni Paisiello The composer of Nel cor più non mi sento is Giovanni Paisiello, an Italian opera composer born in 1740. Giovanni s musical talent was discovered when his singing ability was revealed while at school. As a result, Giovanni was sent to the Conservatory of Dan Onofrio at Naples. While in school, he composed multiple intermezzi, which garnered enough attention to grant him the opportunity to write two operas. Giovanni s career advanced from there, spending time composing in Russia, and Vienna before returning to Naples; he also had a spent a short amount of time in Paris. Ultimately, over eighty different operas are credited to Paisiello as well as many smaller works. This particular song, Nel cor più non mi sento comes from his 1788 opera L amor constrastato, more commonly known as La Molinara. In this comedy opera, three men (Don Calloandro, Don Rospolone, and Pistofolo) fall for mill owner Rachelina. • 17. Characteristics Of Modern Christianity 1. A Unique and Important Practice in Modern Christianity There are many Christian practices, all of the diversified importance to the lives of the believers of the faith. These variegated practices are what differentiates Christians from people of other faiths, and gives them autonomy. According to Craig Dykstra, Christian practices are not activities we do to make something spiritual happen in our lives. Nor are they duties we undertake to be obedient to God. Rather, they are patterns of communal action that create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy, and presence of God may be made known to us (Spiritual Practices, n.d., p. 1). Therefore, Christian practices are the daily engagements that believers of the faith undertake in line with what is expected of them. This paper will discuss fasting as a practice in modern Christianity that is unique and important to the faith of believers and will provide a summary describing fasting, how it developed, and why it is significant in the lives of at least some contemporary Christians. In addition, this paper will also discuss Evangelicalism as a movement within Christianity which started within the past 200 years, having distinctive beliefs, and impact on modern and contemporary Christianity (Christendom). One practice in modern Christianity that is unique is fasting (Colbert, 2006). Often, fasting is related to a person lacking or rather, doing without food, however, this is not the case. Through ... • 19. Satire Definition Essay Humor, for many, is a cheap laugh and a way to brighten someone s day. But for others, humor goes beyond that. Often times in today s world, humor is used to convey messages about dangerous or impossible to state topics. Society allows humorists to speak about unpalatable topics since the delivery of the message is masked. Humorists take difficult messages and use creative humor to make them more accepted into society. Have you ever read a statement that made you double take because it said one thing, but meant opposite? That is called satire. Satire presents a surface level message, but really, in the subtext, the meaning was the opposite of what it seemed. Satire is seen in the world all around us. My mom gives me no option and miraculously persuades me to hop in the car, so we can be on our way. As a child, I was taught that when committed to an activity, quitting was not an option. During my childhood, my mom introduced me to what would soon become my passions. She keeps me involved and teaches me important morals and life lessons that I apply everyday. Without the influence of my mom, I would not be as committed to dancing, finding opportunities through 4 H, and raising sheep. The importance of performing close out activities before closing the project and the business risks associated with skipping these activities John Constance MSc in Project Management, University of Liverpool Week 5 Discussion Question Abstract Most projects are initiated, planned, executed and monitored and controlled with the full cognizant of executives and clients. Conclusion The risk of skipping planned project activities as listed by Robert Wysocki (2009, pp.283 288) is a big threat for the likelihood of future problems. This is the case with 2 projects in South Sudan. The first had close out problems because client condition of satisfaction for deliverables was not documented at the start of the project, nor was it tracked, updated, discussed and agreed. During close out, senior management from the client and contractor blamed each other for not having a plan making close out a war of words to be settled by an Arbitrator. Also, another project, although with a documented close out plan that was reviewed and updated on a monthly basis, did not include an agreement as to who would be the receptor of project asset. This brought chaos during closure when government claimed all assets should be turn over to them and the donor refused, simply because there was no indication of this in the close out document. If close out activities are not performed before closing the project the risks are very highly likely to have more threats than opportunities. The 60,000 incarcerated adolescents each year are being tried as adults in court because of the serious crimes they have committed. The crimes they have committed are anything from armed robbery to murder. Some juveniles might be first time offenders and others might be repeat offenders. Crimes have always been a major issue in the United States and can cause controversy in the criminal justice system. Charging a minor as an adult in criminal court varies from state to state based on each state s jurisdiction. Some states consider anyone up to the age of 18 still a juvenile and would not be charged as an adult in criminal court, but other states may charge a juvenile as an adult at the age of 16 or 17. Jordan (2014) states, Although states already had methods for transferring youth to the adult system, as a result of the growing fear of juvenile violence, most states implemented new laws to increase the number of youth entering the adult criminal system (Bernard Kurlychek, 2010; Torbet et al., 1996) (p. 315). There are two branches of government the Democrats, and the Republicans. Our president, Donald Trump, is a republican. He believes in more investment in our military than our schooling. We already took a pay cut in our schooling system because of that, and the money that is going towards our schools are either going to public or private schools. But is it really necessary for the government to fund private schools when students already have to pay tuition? The government should be funding more towards public schooling. By funding private schools, what will happen to the public schools that rely on that money from the government to provide an education to the students in their community? What if the public schools close, and the only other option that is reasonably close is a private school? A lot of people cannot afford the tuition cost of private schools. The average cost of a private elementary school in Michigan is 9,000 dollars per year. When kids move up to high school the cost jumps up to 13,500 dollars per year. Methyl cinnamate is an ester that is created when cinnamic acid is mixed with methanol and sulfuric acid (see Scheme 1). Around the world, methyl cinnamate is found in a variety of plants and fruits such as strawberry or cinnamon. The plant most used to collect higher concentrations of methyl cinnamate is the Eucalyptus olida with a concentration of 98%. Due to the fact that the ester comes from a cinnamic base, the ester contains a sweet strawberry aroma mixed in with a bit of cinnamon. The sweet fruity smell of the ester is used heavily in the flavoring and the perfume industries (1). • 39. Explain The Humanistic Approach In Health And Social Care The humanistic approach is a person centred approach which depends on trust between the patient and care giver. It is useful because it is non intrusive and it gives people a choice to change their life. It is also used in lots of situations, this shows it is used often. However, it ignores people s behaviour and is short term so this can affect the care given as the carer won t keep an eye on the behaviour which is very important to observe when providing care. The behavioural approach only involves looking at behaviour which is being observed. It is easy to understand and is a natural approach so you can t really tell how someone actually feels because they might do something else. It also doesn t rely on communication a skill which makes it easier for the health carer and patient if they are not able to communicate well. The psychoanalytical approach is an approach which is based on what the patient says and does which is effective as it can change many parts of peoples lives and not just the behaviour. This can also be used for a wide range of problems which makes it even more useful and time consistent. These are the four topics of desire that Michael Pollan talks about within his memoirs in The Botany of Desire. All four desires are told through powerful euphemisms in relation to plants that we have come to know as domesticated. In regards to our modern relationship with plants, the apple, tulip, marijuana, and potato are perhaps some of our most treasured allies. This could not be truer than that relationship in which we have with the potato. That relationship has lasted for thousands of years, and its genetic makeup has been the conversation of many farmers around the world. The potatoes birthplace with the Incans proved to be a time of high biodiversity with thousands of varieties. However, through the act of monoculture with Europeans, and a need to feed a growing population, the potato has experienced a decrease in the amount of varieties that are cultivated. Control ... Incans proved that a diversity of potatoes, when farmed the right way, yielded higher harvests. Diversity is the argument for non traditional, or non monoculture farming; diversity in species and methods. When faced with a deadly virus or disease, a whole monoculture can simply die out. This was the problem with Irish potatoes, which forced the largest emigration of recent memory. What s more, is that today s monocultures are chemically treated in such a way to avoid the problem that plagued the Irish. Soil, in all of its natural life giving diversity, has become barren, unable to support any type of crop without the intensive additions of fertilizers and with them, chemicals. Harvested food has become unsafe to eat unless treated again, with more chemicals. It s easy to see that monocultures are may not be the best solution that is needed for a hungry ... • 42. Advantages Of Multiplier  Abstract: A processor consumes considerable amount of processing time in performing arithmetic operations, particularly multiplication. Multiplication is one of the basic arithmetic operation and makes use of more hardware resources and processing time than addition and subtraction. In fact, multiplication is 8.72% of all the instruction in typical processing unit. In this paper comparative study is done of four multipliers namely, Array multiplier, Modified booth multiplier, Wallace tree multiplier and modified Booth Wallace tree multiplier based of various performance parameters like speed, area, power consumed and circuit complexity . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Modified Booth multiplier design uses a modified Booth encoder and selector technique to reduce and rearrange the partial products. This reduces the number of gate count and improves the performance of the multiplier. The Booth encoder encodes the multiplier bits using Radix 4 or Radix 8 algorithm. A k bit binary number can be interpreted as a k/2 digit Radix 4 number, a k/3 digit Radix 8 number and so on, that deals with more than one multiplier bits in each cycle for using high radix multiplication [6]. The modified Radix 4 Booth algorithm is widely used when the operands are equal to or greater than 16 bits. In this algorithm, the two s complement of a multiplier is encoded in order to reduce the number of partial products that needs to be added. The multiplier, Y can be written in two s complement form as: [8] Y= Yn 12n 1+ ΣiYi2i ; 0 ≤ i ≤ ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many questions posed by scientists about Saturn s atmosphere had gone unanswered for many years, because, like with Jupiter, photos from Earth had not been of high enough quality. The Voyager probes were able to fix that. Information relayed back to Earth from the two probes (which reached Saturn nine months apart, Voyager 1 first in 1980, Voyager 2 in 1981) helped scientists get a much better understanding. Though the atmosphere was expected to be quite similar in composition to the Sun and to Jupiter, Saturn s atmosphere was actually quite different. There was significantly less Helium in Saturn s outmost atmosphere, leading to many interesting conclusions, including that heavier Helium was sinking lower in the atmosphere (Voyager Saturn, NASA). Saturn was also determined to have a lighter density than any other planet and is, in fact, less dense than water. The varying composition of the atmosphere also leant ideas to why Saturn was far warmer than expected, calculating temperature based solely on solar energy, registering between 10 degrees Kelvin at the poles and 143 Kelvin closer to the equator, according to Voyager 1 s radio measurements (these also measured pressure) (Voyager Saturn, NASA). One of the other things determined by the Voyager probes was the extreme speed of the wind on Saturn. Wind blows at speeds of about 500 meters per second near the equator (Voyager Saturn, ... The opposition, no matter what it is, if overcome will bring the same amount of value into whatever the hero and villain are fighting for. Furthermore, the Arkenstone and the Deathly Hallows die out. At the end of Harry s fight with Voldemort and the school year, he states that, I m putting the Elder Wand, he told Dumbledore, who was watching him with enormous affection and admiration, Back where it came from. It can stay there..., (Rowling 749). Considering that the Elder wand came from a tree and trees all start in the ground, one might infer that Harry has buried it or gotten rid of it in some way. Even though the Arkenstone wasn t destroyed, it was still made gone when, They buried Thorin deep beneath the Mountain, and Bard laid the Arkenstone upon his breast. (Tolkien 117). If the Arkenstone was simply buried in the mountain with no intention of being hidden, one might assume that a prequel would come where the Arkenstone would be made important again. • 48. Extinction De-Extinction De extinction offers the possibility for extinct species to be brought back to life by reproductive cloning. Critics argue that de extinction will reduce the will of society to protect endangered species, as well as harm the existing ecosystem upon species reintroduction. However, supporters argue that many species would be great candidates for de extinction and will possibly be beneficial to the ecosystem. I will argue that de extinction should not be pursued. I will argue that reintroduction of unextinct species could cause humanity to become disinterested in protecting endangered species due to the loss of finality of extinction. Furthermore, re introduction of extinct species into ecosystems would negatively shift the balance, and may cause endangerment and potential extinction of otherwise unharmed populations. Some supporters of de extinction believe it to be reasonable for reviving recently extinct species as a last resort in their conservation. However, it is a common belief among critics that it is of greater import to protect endangered species and reduce human impact so as to prevent extinction. Shapiro, a supporter of de extinction, argues that de extinction should not compete for funding with measures for protection of endangered species. However, she argues that both extinct and extant species have valuable roles in maintenance of the ecosystem (2015, p. 195).
