2000 US Presidental Election Essay
Introduction
The US Presidential Election of 2000 featured George W. Bush and Al Gore. It will go down in
history as one of the most closest electionsВЎВ¦ in US history. It also goes down as one of the most
controversial. The final decision was based on just a few hundred votes in Florida. The
controversy began when the media prematurely declared the winner twice based solely on exit
polls. They finally conceded that the Florida count was just too close to predict. It would take a
month before the election was ultimately certified after numerous court challenges and vote
recounts. Republican candidate George W. Bushwas declared the winner of the FloridaВЎВ¦s 25
electoral votes. This was a victory by a razor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important issue in Al GoreВЎВ¦s campaign was the protection of Social Security. This is
an issue as important to the American citizens as taxes. People are in need of being reassured that
the program remains solvent for their use when needed. American pay into the system and they
expect to be recipients in their time of need.
George W. Bush was no stranger to politics. His father is George H. Bush, the 41st President of the
United States. Son, George W. had his own career and experience working to his advantage in the
state of Texas as Governor. Early in his second term as Governor, plans were being constructed for
his run for the nationВЎВ¦s highest office. BushВЎВ¦s choice for a running mate was Dick Cheney.
Bush felt that he was the best man for the position given his history in elected and appointed
offices. CheneyВЎВ¦s resume includes serving as chief of staff under former president Gerald
Ford, and secretary of defense for his father. This decision also gave George W. the solidarity it
lacked when people questioned his experience. Cheney would be there to guide George W. in times
of need.
George W. Bush ran his campaign on the philosophy of renewed moral leadership. Something that
had been lost in the Clinton Gore administration. Bush focused on issues such as providing tax cuts
and improving education. He also had a desire to change Social Security by letting people invest a
portion of their funds in

Abstract
Project management consists of primarily development and execution of an arrangement of
interconnected activities to ultimately receive one common project goal. When dealing with any
type of project, it the project managers responsibility to utilize a known project management

For J. Smith Associates Firm s Project, the initiation process is essential to explain the project
purpose, client s requirements, etc. Furthermore, the key outputs within this process includes, but
are not limited to assigning the project manager, identifying those key stakeholders, completing the
business case, and getting signatures. Once the above criteria have been met, essentially it is
possible to go to planning process of the project.
Planning Process: Project planning process is very crucial for project management as this will be
considered the execution phase. During this process, the project plan is built up on by primarily
focusing on the project necessities such as, developing the project scope, implementing the
schedule and budget. However, as it correlates to the schedule and budget, the resources that are
found are then followed through and implemented in the project. Taking it the account of the effort
and cost, it is within this phase that is considered to be the most important phase. The overall
planning phase is also vital for J. Smith Associates firm s project. For this project, project
management prepares a plan including project scope, budget and schedule. During the requirement

Why Fingerprint Analysis Is Used For The Sake Of Forensic...
Introduction
Friction ridge analysis, or fingerprint analysis has been used for the sake of forensic analysis for
over 100 years, and has perpetually been considered the most reliable technique of analysis.
However, in recent years, its reliability has begun to crumble due to certain standards set in the
United States of America. In this essay, fingerprintanalysis will be briefly described, along with
the framework of ACE V in which analysts work from looking primarily at its weaknesses and
criticisms. The Daubert standard will be outlined and a how a primary assumption of fingerprint
analysis violates a number of these standards. Also, to further strengthen the case as to why
fingerprint analysis should not be considered so heavily in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Every single ridge has a row of sweat pores. When sweat seeps out of these pores, it runs over the
ridges. Thus, when a finger, palm, or foot touches a surface, an impression is made which in
technical terms is known as a latent print. However, when a print is collected from a police
station directly from the source, this is known as an exemplar print (Haber and Haber, 2008;
Creswell, 2015). The science of fingerprint analysis rests on three, recently, controversial
assumptions: Firstly, the ridge patterns never change during the life of a person; secondly, no two
individuals will have the same ridge patterns; lastly, the transferability of an impression of that
uniqueness to another surface. (Gianelli, 2006). This allowed for fingerprint analysts to form a
procedure which other experts around the world are invited to use, known as ACE V.
ACE V
ACE V which is an acronym which stands for Analysis in which analysts categorise certain features
of the print. Comparison where the latent print is compared to the known print of a suspect.
Evaluation is the stage in which the examiner is expected to make an inference as to whether the
latent print matches the print of the suspect or not. Finally, the process of Verification whereby, the
analyst sends their data to another expert to confirm their inference (Lawless, 2009). While this

Drones, that all
INTRODUCTION As a human when we employ power by facts and evidence gathering with all
the tools at our disposal, they can have a significant impact. So then will we use the new
technology of unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, to create power for our stories? First of all we
have to try to define what the word drone encompasses. In the spring 2013 issue of News Media
The Law, Lilly Chapa provided this description: Technically, any aircraft that is controlled remotely
is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), or drone. Most modern drones are controlled by Global
Positioning System based commands programmed through a computer. Drones can cost
anywhere from $300 to $5 million and can be as small as a dinner plate or as large as a Cessna.
They can be equipped with a variety of tools, including cameras, GPS trackers, infrared sensors and
weapons [Chapa 2013]

Sexual Identity And Sexuality
Sexual Identity is what a person is attracted to sexually and emotionally. People tend to
categorize others depending on their choice of sex. A recent study on the article, Lesbian
Identity Performances in the Workplace, Social Class, and Psychological Health by Elizabeth
McDermott (2006), has shown that people rather not identify their sexual identity so they can
be welcomed into their workplace. But, it should not matter about a person s sexuality because
it would not make them less of a man or woman to perform their job. Elizabeth McDermott is a
Senior Lecturer at Lancaster University; whose research is categorized with mental health
inequality in relations to age, sexuality, gender, and social class. Another study was conducted
on an article with teenagers; .... It s a big deal stresses and strains of managing sexual identity(s)

I think Delta Tools, Inc. doesn t owe an ethical duty to remove the product from the market unless
the company doesn t warn its customers of the danger they can meet upon misuse of the product. If
the company takes all the measures to warn their customers of the danger of the product once it s

In addition, Brody and Crawford claimed that THC, in its March 19 and April 24 press releases,
materially misled them about THC s intention to sell the company. The district court granted the
defendant s motion to dismiss the claims. The plaintiffs appealed to the US Court of Appeal, Ninth
Circuit.
ISSUE Are Brody and Crawford the proper plaintiffs to sue THC for damages for violation of the
statute and ruleВ№ regarding the insider trading?
DECISION No. US Court of Appeal, Ninth circuit, affirmed the district court s decision to dismiss
Brody and Crawford s complaint for failure to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.
REASON The Court noted that plaintiffs did not meet a contemporaneous trading requirement, a
judicially created standing requirement, which specified in Section 14(e) and Rule 14e 3 that the
plaintiffs must have traded in a company s stock at about the same time as the alleged insider. In
addition, the Court decided that the plaintiffs complaint must specify the reason or reasons why
the statements made by THC in its press releases were misleading. Brody and Crawford argued
that in order for statement not to be misleading, once disclosure is made, there is a duty to make it
complete and accurate , for which the Court found no support in the case law. The case lawВІ only

Victims Of Homosexuals During The Holocaust
The holocaust started in 1933 when hitler was the ruler. At first, Hitler didn t want to kill the Jews
he just wanted them to leave. The Jews didn t want to leave their homes. When hitler start to kill
them he brought them to concentration camps. He brought them to the camps by a train. During
the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted others groups because of their race. Other groups
were persecuted on political, ideological, and behavioral grounds, among them Communists,
Socialists, Jehovah s Witnesses, and homosexuals. Although Jews, whom the Nazis deemed a
priority danger to Germany, were the primary victims of Nazi racism, other victims included some
200,000 Roma. At least 200,000 mentally or physically disabled patients, mainly Germans, living in
institutional settings, were murdered in the so called Euthanasia Program. The Nazis sent 10,000
15,000 homosexuals to concentration camps where they were forced to wear pink triangles. The
Nazis also carried out pseudo research to find out if homosexuality was inherited by injecting them
with male hormones. They offered homosexuals their freedom if they would agree to be castrated
or submit themselves to sexual abuse and prostitution. Under these conditions, an estimated 6,000
9,000 homosexual inmates died in the camps... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay About Soccer City
Hidden deep in the streets of Sunny Ridge, a neighborhood, lies a whole new soccer world open
to everyone. Soccer City brings an exhalating sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to
learn to play soccer can excel. As guests walk in through the doors of the entrance at soccer city
all they hear are the thunderous roars of a soccer ball being kicked against the walls. The
trainlike whistles of the referees stopping the ball for a foul, all while trying to calm the
opposing teams from getting into an argument. The smell of hard work, but mostly sweat of the
players trying to score for their teams. These are just a few of the components that makes soccer
city such a wonderful place unlike any other. Soccer City, with all of its components, really
outlines the true identity of soccer and how everyone of all ages can come together to play a game
and work towards a common goal; to score goals.
When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor
complex can be seen below. In the center of the complex, there are benches to rest on, and a
concession stand facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a
bite as they anxiously wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since
the benches and the concession area is centered in the middle of the complex on both sides there is
a soccer field that allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games
going on as players seem to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling.
This effect of having the concession stand allows the aroma of food to be around in the air and it
makes the customers that come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which
further increases sales at soccer city by people buying food there between games and not eating at
any other restaurants Upon walking through the doors, the loud chatter of people urgently calling
for teammates to get the ball, or the thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field
walls soon fills ears and connects people instantly with the live atmosphere. This noisy atmosphere
isn t for everyone but for those rowdy soccer players this is paradise.

new music is available to him on the go and effortlessly. Fifty years ago, this feat would ve been

vinyl. These vinyl records had a much more complicated process to play back music. One person
would have to physically go to their local record store and grab their vinyl disc, and then they d

company has been able to accomplish. Columbia marketed these LPs as thinner, non breakable
records being more durable than the previous shellac material. In addition, these LPs were
capable of having micro grooves in the vinyl that were harder and finer, thus increasing the
number of grooves it could have tremendously. The grooves progressed from eighty and a

records produced. Indubitably, the first LPs had room for improvements and they took time to fix
their flaws to a point where vinyl s boundaries were reached. The results were perfectly imperfect

Functions Of Type Vii Collagen
Pathophysiology
The COL7A1 gene contains the instruction manual for making proteins that are used for
strengthening and supporting the connective tissue in the body which includes tendons, ligaments,
bones and skin. The proteins produced from the COL7A1 gene, called pro О±1 (VII) chains, are
the components of type VII collagen. (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/COL7A1) When three pro О±1
(VII) chains twist together, they form a triple stranded molecule called a procollagen, these
molecules are secreted by the cell and are processed by enzymes which remove extra protein
segments. When these procollagen molecules are processed by getting rid of the extra segment on
the ends, they then can arrange themselves into longer, thinner bundles of mature type VII collagen.
Type VII collagen is the major component of anchoring fibrils which is found in the basement
membrane zone, which is a two layer membrane found between the epidermis, and the dermis.
Anchoring fibrils hold the two layers of skin together by connecting the epidermal basement
membrane to the dermis. (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/COL7A1) Without the anchoring fibrils
holding those layers together the skin become extremely fragile and blistering occurs with the
slightest of trauma, heat, rubbing or friction. Injury may also occur from the removal of adhesive
tape or tight clothing. Children with EB are called Butterfly Children because their skin is so
fragile, like a butterfly s wings.

Value chain was first crafted by Michael Porter in his book Competitive Advantage Creating and

The Sound Recording Amendment Act
In 1971 The U.S Congress passed the Sound Recording Amendment to the 1909 Copyright Statue.
Through this act, it was acknowledged that audio recordings were worthy of legal copyright
protection. This was the beginning of a new era for the music industry. The Sound Recording
Amendment was enacted due to the bootlegging of vinyl records in hope of preventing the coping
of music. Coincidentally, the issue of bootlegging music remains unsolved. Much of the animosity
toward our existing copyright framework stems from the unpopular tactics of the record industry,
which tries to enforce copyright laws to sustain an increasingly outmoded system. With the
introduction of the Sony Walkman in 1979, music became more limited in format while
remaining extremely versatile and convenient. Eventually, the persistent Recording Industry
Association of America (RIAA) was granted the right to earn taxes on every sale of a blank tape.
Billy Joel released his 52 Street, the first CD released in the world, and began the launch of sales
of the standard Compact Disc (CD). The 80s quickly became the most explosively successful
decade in recording audio history due to the rapid replacement of tapes by consumers. The music
industrycontinues to rise with the birth of the MP3 in 1990 followed by the introduction of the first
major audio service by RealAudio. This form of obtaining music immediately skyrockets with
popularity. The use of the Internet continues to serve the music industry useful

Women s Rights And Gender Equality Essay
At first glance, the words feminism, veganism, and locavorism may induce many different thoughts
and images. One might think of a celebrity, a stereotype, a character trait, or a group of specifically
similar people associated with each word. For some, these three words may not even bring anything
or anyone significant to mind. But no matter what thoughts arise through them, all three of these
words represent an ideology, and two of them commonly have to do with diet. Feminism, or the
advocacy of women s rights and gender equality, and veganism, or the lifestyle and diet of avoiding
animal products, are widely known and decently popular. However, locavorism, which is the
lifestyle and diet of purchasing and eating locally and sustainably grown food in order to help the
environment and be healthy, is more of a modern concept that was not always relevant or present in
American society. In fact, it only became popular in the past decade (Rudy, 2012, p. 27).
Nonetheless, the point still stands that feminism, veganism, and locavorism may not seem to have
any connections aside from the fact that they are indeed all ideologies and they share a suffix.
However, when observed on a deeper level, it is discovered that the widely held feminist views of
gender and socioeconomic equality coincide with the views of vegans that also focus on equality
for beings thought to be inferior. Even further, feminist views pertaining to the equitable
distribution of food and positive treatment of

Examples Of Greasers In The Outsiders
In the Outsiders, written by S.E Hinton one of the main characters is Ponyboy. He is
stereotyped as a greaser (a poor boy from the east side of town). Ponyboy accepts being a greaser
and it affects him positively. Some people might stereotype Ponyboy as a hero and not a greaser.
Ponyboy is a greaser, this is because he fits the characteristics of a greaser. For example, all the
greasers have long greasy hair, pony has that. Besides I look better with long greasy hair. (2).
This quote means that Ponyboy is a greaser, and that he looks better with long greasy hair. Another

respect Ponyboy, for example, during an argument towards the end of the book Darry said to

Johnny helps Ponyboy feel better a lot of in a lot of conflicts. For instance, getting hit or getting

Castaway , directed by Robert Zemeckis, is a 2001 film starring Tom Hanks. Hanks stars as
Chuck Noland, a FedEx delivery man whose life is headed in the right direction , until his plane
crashes and he is stranded on an island. He must adapt to his new life on the island; overcoming
many obstacles in order to survive. Castaway explores three different journeys; physical, inner and
imaginative. Chuck Noland is a filmic representation of the philosophy of time equals money equals
fulfilment. Zemeckis is deliberate in his obvious manipulation of the responder as he uses a
multitude of filmic techniques to create a connection between the audience and Chuck. The
physical journey in Castaway is Chuck s struggle to survive all the... Show more content on

His determination and faith serve to evoke optimism within the responder and it gives them
hope that Chuck will continue to survive until he gets off the island. The impact time has on his
life is also evident when he is admonishing FedEx employees. He states We live or we die by the
clock. Never allow ourselves to commit the sin of losing track of time. He says the same thing
to the volleyball, Wilson, when he is planning their escape off the island. The context of when he
says it changes the meaning of this quote. The first time it is said he is passionately trying to get
workers to be more efficient and the quote is an exaggeration. The second time Chuck makes
this remark, death is actually a serious option. Although the timing of his escape is important to
him, time is not what is driving him anymore, instead his desire to get back to Kelly. The
volleyball, Wilson, becomes Chuck s only companion on the island. Wilson is Chuck s need for
companionship personified. Wilson is a part of Chuck as Wilson s face is made of his blood and
is the physical manifestation of Chuck s mental state. I know you. Chuck repeats to Wilson and
this signifies that Chuck is aware that Wilson is a part of him while demonstrating Chuck trying
to reassure himself of who he is. When Wilson is lost at sea, Chuck is devastated at losing his
friend and one of the only things kept him sane on the island. Chuck s palpable anguish evokes
sympathy and grief within the responder.

Symbolism In Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell To Arms
World War I began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. Ernest
Hemingway s novel, A Farewell to Arms, follows the life of the Italian Speaking, American
Frederic Henry as he joins the war on behalf of the Italians, is injured by a bombshell, and flees
after his recovery. In his most popular novel, A Farewell to Arms
, Hemingway utilizes the motif of
whorehouses, sporadic syntax during Henry s rampant drunkenness, and understatement when
Henry encounters death to illustrate how war morally decays the ordinary man.
Throughout A Farewell to Arms, Hemingway exemplifies the purpose of whorehouses as a
distraction for the soldiers and the role of women in times of war. In the beginning, the motif of
whorehouses is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By implementing a confusing syntax during Henry s inebriated state, Hemingway reveals how the
war affects the morality of Henry s mind. After his hospitalization from an explosion, Henry s
friends bring him alcohol as a get well present. Henry has a drink and argues about Rome with
Rinaldi in his drunken state: Roma is feminine, said Rinaldi. It cannot be the father. Who is the
father, then, the Holy Ghost? Don t blas pheme. I wasn t blaspheming, I was asking for
information. You are drunk, baby. Who made me drunk? I made you drunk because I love you and
because America is in the war. (Hemingway 71)
Through this ambiguous sentence structure, it is difficult to tell who says, comments, or argues
with who. By utilizing this perplexing syntax Hemingway shows how being drunk affects Henry s
state of mind. Henry is unable to tell right from wrong, or if the comment made is actually
blasphemy or not. Henry s mindstate is altered, as evident by Hemingway s use of muddled syntax,
as a result of the alcohol; in addition, Henry only got drunk because he was given alcohol after his
injuries in the war. Thus, the war morally decayed Henry s mind through alcohol to the point of not
being able to discern right from wrong. The war not only numbs Henry emotionally through alcohol
but also through his encounters with death. Hemingway s use of understatement when Henry
encounters death reveals how the war progressively deteriorated

The Influence Of Donald Trump s Mental Health
On November 4, 2008 history was made, the United States of America elected their first black
president. We as a nation had taken our first step towards improvement and had gain a new fond
hope. The years following this historical election, included moving forward and believing that
America was finally a country that accepted minorities and have left its racist/ homophobic history
behind. However, the 2016 presidential elections proved this to be all wrong. We have gone from
being a country who just elected their first black president, to a nation who has elected a
misogynistic, racist, sexist, homophobe.
This past election has shaken the nation as a whole, it has caused the the feelings of hate we all
thought were buried with our ancestors to resurface and become acceptable once again. Donald
Trump becoming our next presidential elect, has impacted us all, and there is no doubt that this
election has by far been the most influential on our nation s mental health. ... Show more content on

The answer is simple and has already been answered, Donald Trump winning the election has
caused something called the Trump effect. According to Politico Magazine, American therapist are
worried about Trump s effect on our mental heath as it has caused a spike in bullying and distress
that both teachers and psychiatrist are noticing amongst students and patients (Sheehy, 2016).
It would be wrong to ignore the psychological, social and political damage the 2016 election has
caused, when the movement called Citizen Therapist Against Trumpism, an effort to awaken
therapists to their public responsibilities has commissioned a study of 1,000 voting age Americans,
and found that 43 percent of the individuals studied reported emotional distress from Trump and his

My Life with Tourette s Syndrome Essay example
Tourette s syndrome is a disorder where the affected individual will consistently exhibit tics . In
the majority of cases these ticks are minor in character, it may just be the urge to blink, or make
certain facial gestures. Less than 15% of individuals exhibit coprolalia, which is the unwarranted
exclamations of profanities or other socially forbidden remarks. Perhaps those in our generation
who are aware of Tourette s syndrome have learned its symptoms through pop culture, which has

I woke up late Wednesday morning. There was no time that could justify a shower, so I just
combed yesterday s starchy moose out of my hair, took my ADHD meds and jumped in the

of clearing could remove. This made me nervous, as it was my first class day at Sam Houston.
After referring my disability to the University I go to sit in the back of the classroom, where
only the instructor visibly grimaces at my throat clearing and constant fidgeting. Professors

Nearly a year before the battle took place, June 3rd, 1942, the Japanese seized Attu with only
natives living there. The Japanese reestablished a base on Attu on October 29, 1942 under the
leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Hiroshi Yanekawa.1 The Japanese set up strong defensive
positions with antiaircraft and numerous caches of arms, ammunition and food spread across
different locations on the island. U.S. forces did not have such advantage and had a difficult time
with logistics due to the unforgiving elements. The islands beaches consisted of muskeg which
created very difficult circumstances for U.S. vehicles that the engineers were crucial in resolving.
Although the harsh climate and terrain caused many problems for both sides, it was more
impactful against the Japanese due to the long period of acclimation they endured.2 The Japanese

Literature Review On Nursing Bedside Report
В· The section entitled literature review relies primarily on studies conducted in the last 5 years.
The literature on nursing bedside report is focused in two general areas. The first focus area is the
process of implementing bedside report, either describing the experiences related to implementation
or explaining how other organizations could implement this change. The second area of focus is
improving the process of bedside report, often through observation and identifying common
themes, or by describing how others may improve their own reporting process.
· The theoretical or conceptual framework is described.

The conceptual framework was the interviews of the patients on their stay in the hospital. The
patient survey had 17 items dealing with the following nurse behaviors treating the patient kindly
and with respect, listening to the patient, informing the patient about their care, teaching so that the
patient could understand, working with other nurses, passing along information from shift to shift,
including the patient in report discussions and keeping the patient s health information private
(Sand Jecklin Sherman 2013).
· Does the literature review provide support for the importance of future study research?

We Grow Accustomed To The Night By Emily Dickinson Analysis
Darkness is perceived as many different things. It can be seen as a scary unknown or being able
to push forward without knowing what s ahead or around you. When someone looks at their
past, they normally see places filled with both light memories and dark memories. Emily
Dickinson was a poet whose life had many places of darkness. In her poem, We Grow
Accustomed to the Dark, she is able to look through the darkness as a new beginning. She doesn t
allow it to consume her entirely. This contrasts Robert Frost s, Acquainted with the Night he shows
a person who becomes enveloped by the darkness and the finality of it. While both of these
contrast each other s opinions of what darkness is and whether it s good or bad, they both keep the

Dickinson uses the line, As when the Neighbor holds the lamp / To witness her Goodbye,
(Stanza 1 Line 4) to use the light as an ending. A goodbye to whatever life had been known
before. In Frost s poem he uses goodbye as an ending as well, as if this is the narrator leaving on
their own terms: But not to call me back or say good bye. (Stanza 4 Line 1). Both authors use the
entrance into the darkness as a goodbye to someone or something, but in Dickinson s poem, it s
as if the person is ready to leave on their own terms. Whereas in Frost s he makes it seem like it
was a decision that was regretted and not fully the character s choice. The way they chose to use
the dark as a goodbye, also shows the way that they feel about the dark. Dickinson s is more
about a person pulling away from someone, but ready to deal with life themself until it s sorted
out. Frost s way of saying goodbye as if the character is reluctant to go makes it seem almost like
the final goodbye, that no one s calling to have them

The Satire Of Lysistrata And The Athenian Coupe Of 411 Bc...
Satire have an amazing power. It is often used to make people laugh, think and enjoy; however, it
can also be used, unintentionally, for manipulation. People claim Aristophanes work, Lysistrata, to
be an attack on the political structure of ancient Greece, and it can be argued that the play incited
the Athenian coupe of 411 BC (Ruffell, 2013, p. 270). The main intention of satireis to make people
laugh, and in order to accomplish that goal, a theme must be created using recognizable figures in
society and geographic locations that the audience can connect to. Also, the use of comedic devices
should be present to entice laugh and maybe change. When themes and comedic devices start to

It can be interpreted that the person who holds the status and ideals are the victim.
How a victim of humiliation is targeted must be further explored to relate ancient Greek comedy to
modern comedy. In ancient Greek comedies, these poor souls are referred to as being a
komodoumenos. The longer a person held a prominent title, the more suitable he was to become
the butt of a joke. If the person was also greedy and caught in the act of doing a crime to the
public, he was ensuring that he would be the target of a Greek comedy (Sommerstein, 1996). The
reason the length of time that someone held a position of power was, and still is, important is
because time offers opportunities to either gain shame or respect. For those who gained the former,
the audience would be able to instantly connect to the theme emerging from the ridicule. Today,
The Rick Mercer Report imitates the comedies of Ancient Greece by showcasing the less than
attractive characteristics of prominent Canadian politicians. The humiliation of the politicians is
the theme of the show, and it is not intended for political information, but for satirical
entertainment. The reason the audience is able to connect to the theme is because of prior
knowledge of the politicians (Onusko, 2011, p. 140). It is here that the foolishness of the audience
begins, as they believe the satire to be a political view, and not just entertainment for comedy s sake.
Ruffell (2013) claims that the victim of

harm it can do like inflict paranoia. She mentions how the fear stricken victims of southern
California are paranoid like her neighbor that refuses to leave the house and her husband who

contrast, Thomas approaches the Santa Ana winds as a routinely destructive awe. Though Thomas
focuses more on the fire caused by the wind, then the wind itself, Thomas casts a soft light on the
winds. She believes that the winds are not destructive, but that humans are and the winds only do
what they must. She and her neighbors gather around and watch the brushfire destroy a hill in the
distance, a casual pastime like watching stars. Thomas casually explains in paragraph three of

Lawrence is an obvious reason for the unfortunate demise of Romeo and Juliet because he

Romeo a sign that Juliet faked her death. Friar Lawrence is guilty because of his affiliation with

The Power And Ethics Of Language
The Power and Ethics of Language
It was April 2010. David Cameron and Gordon Brown were the political frontrunners of Great
Britain. However, that realization was irrelevant with what was about to happen. Everyone was
watching as the highly anticipated, first televised debates in the United Kingdom began. The
discourse ended after several hours, and a new candidate quickly emerged as the leader. His name
was Nick Clegg. He led the Liberal Democrats, the smallest party. One might think about it over
and over again and ask, How did such a thing happen? . The answer, in itself, lies within the
influence of the media, the power of language, and how its words are intertwined so masterfully
that the effect becomes immeasurable. As Diane Setterfield once noted, There is something about
words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. They wind themselves around
your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your
skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. The press
established a perception for Clegg and made it known not only to all those in attendance, but to
everyone who was watching across the nation. Based on his calm, collective demeanor and the
way he was in control, Nick looked like the host. David and Gordon, on the other hand, appeared

The Inventions Of The Cotton Gin During The Industrial...
During the Industrial Revolution, many inventions were produced. In 1793, Eli Whitney
invented the cotton gin. Eli Whitney was a farm boy and was trying to make a name for himself
as a manufacturer. About a few days later, he developed a machine to restructure the cotton
industry. The pasteurization was created by Louis Pasteur in 1864. Louis Pasteur was a chemistry
professor and was studying fermentation. He created this invention for beer because there was
trouble with brewing and kept going bad while no one knew why. There is a big time difference
between the year date they were both created. They both have been known for many years and are
still being used to this day. These two inventions have made a huge impact throughout history and
people s lives. Cottonhas been known for many years, but it was not used as much as compared
to today. For many years, the only way to separate the cotton seeds from its fibers was to pull
them out by hand. It was a very slow and hard occupation. The way the cotton gin worked was by;
the cotton needs to fall through the feeder hopper, goes through a place where it comes into the
wire teeth, which seizes the fibers for the seeds and comes out of the machine. Although the cotton
gin was a very advantageous machine, it affected many slaves. It came with a number of
unintended consequences, especially towards slavery. During this era, cotton was the most arduous
plant since the seeds needed to be removed and that was a wearying process.

operative time of the laparoscopic procedure varied according to the diagnosis. It was 120 minutes
in abdominal pseudocysts, 45 minutes in recurrent congenital inguinal hernias, 100 minutes in
adhesive intestinal obstruction and 35 minutes in subcutaneous cyst. All patients were completed
laparascopically except one patient with large amalgamated abdominal pseudocyst; it was converted

Our series reinforces the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic management for distal catheter
complications. The advantages of the laparoscopic approach include a shorter hospital stay because
of less postoperative pain. The catheter is positioned under direct vision with less bowel
manipulation, thus reducing the risk of bowel injury and the development of adhesions(3).
Laparoscopy allows us to replace the shunts in the abdominal cavity under direct visual guidance
and cut them to appropriate size if necessary.
In addition, laparoscopy is a diagnostic tool that can be used to exclude any other intra abdominal
process possibly causing abdominal pain. Laparoscopy can be repeated several times in case of
further complications because it is less invasive. This is not the case with laparotomy, which is
more traumatic (3).
The potential problem that has been raised is retrograde leakage of carbon dioxide into the
ventricle. This was not recognized in our series and has not been reported previously. A recent in
vitro study found that none of the valves tested showed any signs of leak associated with
increased gaseous back pressure below a pressure of 80 mm

Daisy Buchanan and Lady Brett Ashley
Research Paper The Sun Also Rises and the Great Gatsby are both very interesting books written
in the 1920 s. The characters of Lady Brett Ashley and Daisy Buchanan also influenced many
women in that time period on how they acted, dressed, and the choices they made in their
everyday life s. Lady Brett Ashley is a very tart character. She goes after men and has sex with
them and then they provide everything for her. She is probably the most unsympathic character in
the whole story. She uses men then discards them once they are of no use to her. As Cohn, says she
is Circe, who turns men into swine . By turning them into lower creatures, she uses them and then
kills them at the right moment. On the other hand Daisy Buchanan is also a very... Show more

comes crying to Jake; continuing to tell him how much she is in love with him and how perfect

games between almost every male character in the story and having a good time doing it; she
doesn t realize that all of these guys are fighting each other and ruining their friendships because
she goes from one to the other having sex with them and telling them that they are the one for
her. Lady Brett Ashley does not pay much attention on how she lives her life and how bad it
really looks on her. But when she went to church she realized she must be doing something
wrong. She says in chapter 18, Come on, she whispered. Let s get out of here. Makes me damned
nervous. Outside in the hot brightness of the street Brett looked up at the treetops in the wind.
The praying had not been much of a success. Don t know why I get so nervy in church, Brett
said. Never does me any good. We walked along. I m damned bad for a religious atmosphere,

Lovers Quarrels in Love, 20 cents the First Quarter Mile
Kenneth Fearing s poem Love, 20 cents the First Quarter Mile, expresses the wide range of
emotions experienced in an argument. The poem depicts the all too familiar situation of a lover s
quarrel in which the persona, whom we can assume is male, struggles to resolve an argument during
a taxi ride. During his attempts to resolve the quarrel, the persona experiences a variety of emotions
ranging from apologetic to accusatory to sarcastic to romantic. In this poem, the reader gains a
personal insight into the conflicting and rapidly changing feelings of the persona.

In the next stanza, we see the persona adopting a rather sarcastic attitude, stating that he will
forgive his companion for everything (18). Evidently she has depicted herself as being totally
innocent and without fault in the quarrel, giving him a reason to sardonically state that he forgives
her for being beautiful and generous and wise...and for being alive (19 20). However, just as
suddenly as his emotions turned from apologetic to sarcastic, they change again; this time from
sarcastic to placating. He softly says:
Because tonight you are in my hair and eyes,/ And every street light that our taxi passes shows me
you again,/ still you,/ And because tonight all other nights are black, all other hours are/ cold and
far away, and now, this minute, the stars are very/ near and bright(22 27).
As in all lovers quarrels, the persona s love is greater than his anger at the petty argument. He
expresses his love for his companion and tries his best to woo

The Demography Of Aging Population In China
Demography of aging
In 2017, the world population is at 7.5 billion people. China is the most populated country in
whole world. It has 1.379 billion (Google) people making it the largest populated country. China is
also the most largest aging population making it have a high life expectancy and the high
accelerating aging rate in the world (Zheng, 2012). China has advanced with technology and also
with age. Only three decades ago, only 5 percent of the populations was over 65; today, 123
million people, or 9 percent of the population, are over this age which a report released by the
government states that China will be the world s most aged society in 2030 (Huang, 2013).
Since, China is the most largest aging population this means that less people are dying and more
are living. Since, more people are living this means that need of long term care, health insurance,
adjustment of policies and how to make everyone comfortable living. China is the only country
that has an older population exceeding 100 million and annually increases at a rate of 3.2. A
dependent territory of China is Hong kong that has 7.347 million people (Google). Hong kong also
has a fast growing aged population. Hong kong is also trying to adjust their long term care system,
pensions system and policies to accommodate everyone living situation.
`The aging population creates a demographic shift. Since, China has a high aging population it has
affected China culturally, socially and family. Families most important social support is family
and the kin system that helps functioned family roles. As aging increases, fertility decreases due to
families looking for more work and to live their lives doing other things rather than having babies.
It will have a dramatic demographic transition in twenty years. Growing old before affluent. Birth
control has also helped with lowering the birth rate. The demographic structure has also changed. In
1950 it held a perfect pyramid but as time goes on it shows how the youth became a shrinking
population. One strategic solution is the one child policy which helps balance out the rapidly
growing population and to help stimulate development. It restricts family size which help the aging

How successfully did Britain secure its Interests in the Eastern Question from 1856 1902?
Between 1856 and 1902 British aims were to secure trade routes, maintain the balance of power in
Britain s favour, have naval control of the Mediterranean and to safeguard India and North Africa
against threatening powers such as France and Russia. These aims were fundamental to Britain at
the time and heavily influenced British foreign policy including British involvement in the Eastern
Question. Britain s aims in the Eastern Question were to maintain the integrity of the Ottoman

Disraeli s greatest successes came with the congress of Berlin in 1878 at which Disraeli
managed to preserve enough of the Ottoman Empire for it to remain as a barrier to Russian
expansionism. Part of this preservation was the full restoration of Macedonia to the Ottoman
Empire thereby successfully achieving Britain s goal of maintaining the integrity of the Ottoman
Empire. Disraeli also managed to achieve the goal of preventing Russian penetration of the
Balkans through the dismemberment of Big Bulgaria and the independence of Serbia,
Montenegro and Romania as agreed at the Congress of Berlin, which was another great success
for Britain. Disraeli s policies in the Balkans had also won Britain Cyprus, which was a huge
strategic advancement as it gave Britain a naval base in the Mediterranean and also furthered
Britain s influence in Egypt and improved the security of the Suez Canal route to India, the jewel in
the crown . This fulfilled three of Britain s primary aims, which were to secure trade routes, have
naval control of the Mediterranean and also acted as a safeguard to India, a huge success for
Disraeli. However, Disraeli did have some failures during his time as Prime Minister, the foremost
of which was the fact that he had failed to solve the Eastern Question and the long lasting peace and

Advantages Of Public Participation In Decision Making
1.Policy makers should always engage the public in all policy decisions. Argue for or against and
explain your view.
I believe that public participation should be at the heart of good governance and policy decision
making. However, the nature of engagement itself is highly contextual depending on governance
culture determined by elements like levels of corruption, transparency, equity and inclusiveness.
While theory on, the subject argues for and against the notion of public participation (Irvin et al,
2004) , in my opinion the benefits of public engagement far outweigh the negative aspects.
Moreover, the advantages of public participation are several especially for countries where
passivity is culturally embedded or power distance is high and political gridlocks occur frequently.

The Space Race Determining Factor To Technologically...
After World War II ended, a new conflict started, known as the Cold War, this battle was between
the United States and the Soviet Union for superiority. Beginning in the late 1950s, space would be
another battleground for these superpowers. Not only were they going to battle on ground but also
in what seemed impossible at the time which was space. Due to this new competition many
technological advancements were made. So, to what extent was the space race the determining
factor to technologically improve space travel?
The US and Soviet Union were both making many technological advances within their countries
that made this race to space competitive. Competition is something the Soviet union and the US
have always had between them, and would continue to have throughout the Cold war. The
desperation to be ahead of one another really was a huge issue. They were not only competing to
be technologically advanced but they also wanted to improve their strategic advances towards
having control of one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 2. 2000 US Presidental Election Essay Introduction The US Presidential Election of 2000 featured George W. Bush and Al Gore. It will go down in history as one of the most closest electionsВЎВ¦ in US history. It also goes down as one of the most controversial. The final decision was based on just a few hundred votes in Florida. The controversy began when the media prematurely declared the winner twice based solely on exit polls. They finally conceded that the Florida count was just too close to predict. It would take a month before the election was ultimately certified after numerous court challenges and vote recounts. People are in need of being reassured that the program remains solvent for their use when needed. American pay into the system and they expect to be recipients in their time of need. George W. Bush was no stranger to politics. His father is George H. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. Son, George W. had his own career and experience working to his advantage in the state of Texas as Governor. Early in his second term as Governor, plans were being constructed for his run for the nationВЎВ¦s highest office. BushВЎВ¦s choice for a running mate was Dick Cheney. Bush felt that he was the best man for the position given his history in elected and appointed offices. CheneyВЎВ¦s resume includes serving as chief of staff under former president Gerald Ford, and secretary of defense for his father. This decision also gave George W. the solidarity it lacked when people questioned his experience. Cheney would be there to guide George W. in times of need. George W. Bush ran his campaign on the philosophy of renewed moral leadership. Something that had been lost in the Clinton Gore administration. Bush focused on issues such as providing tax cuts and improving education. He also had a desire to change Social Security by letting people invest a portion of their funds in ... Introduction Friction ridge analysis, or fingerprint analysis has been used for the sake of forensic analysis for over 100 years, and has perpetually been considered the most reliable technique of analysis. However, in recent years, its reliability has begun to crumble due to certain standards set in the United States of America. In this essay, fingerprintanalysis will be briefly described, along with the framework of ACE V in which analysts work from looking primarily at its weaknesses and criticisms. The Daubert standard will be outlined and a how a primary assumption of fingerprint analysis violates a number of these standards. When sweat seeps out of these pores, it runs over the ridges. Thus, when a finger, palm, or foot touches a surface, an impression is made which in technical terms is known as a latent print. However, when a print is collected from a police station directly from the source, this is known as an exemplar print (Haber and Haber, 2008; Creswell, 2015). The science of fingerprint analysis rests on three, recently, controversial assumptions: Firstly, the ridge patterns never change during the life of a person; secondly, no two individuals will have the same ridge patterns; lastly, the transferability of an impression of that uniqueness to another surface. (Gianelli, 2006). This allowed for fingerprint analysts to form a procedure which other experts around the world are invited to use, known as ACE V. ACE V ACE V which is an acronym which stands for Analysis in which analysts categorise certain features of the print. Comparison where the latent print is compared to the known print of a suspect. Evaluation is the stage in which the examiner is expected to make an inference as to whether the latent print matches the print of the suspect or not. Finally, the process of Verification whereby, the analyst sends their data to another expert to confirm their inference (Lawless, 2009). Drones Essay Felix Chan Dr. Wilkes Senior Seminar 6 December, 2015 Drones, that all INTRODUCTION As a human when we employ power by facts and evidence gathering with all the tools at our disposal, they can have a significant impact. So then will we use the new technology of unmanned aerial vehicles, drones, to create power for our stories? First of all we have to try to define what the word drone encompasses. In the spring 2013 issue of News Media The Law, Lilly Chapa provided this description: Technically, any aircraft that is controlled remotely is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), or drone. Most modern drones are controlled by Global Positioning System based commands programmed through a computer. • 11. Descriptive Essay About Soccer City Hidden deep in the streets of Sunny Ridge, a neighborhood, lies a whole new soccer world open to everyone. Soccer City brings an exhalating sports atmosphere that anyone that is willing to learn to play soccer can excel. As guests walk in through the doors of the entrance at soccer city all they hear are the thunderous roars of a soccer ball being kicked against the walls. The trainlike whistles of the referees stopping the ball for a foul, all while trying to calm the opposing teams from getting into an argument. The smell of hard work, but mostly sweat of the players trying to score for their teams. These are just a few of the components that makes soccer city such a wonderful place unlike any other. Soccer City, with all of its components, really outlines the true identity of soccer and how everyone of all ages can come together to play a game and work towards a common goal; to score goals. When walking through the entrance at soccer city the complete floorplan of the whole indoor complex can be seen below. In the center of the complex, there are benches to rest on, and a concession stand facing right in that direction. This encourages players to sit down and take a bite as they anxiously wait for their game or just for visitors grab a snack and watch soccer. Since the benches and the concession area is centered in the middle of the complex on both sides there is a soccer field that allows for the accommodation of eating while watching these warlike games going on as players seem to fight each other vigorously chasing down a ball that keeps on rolling. This effect of having the concession stand allows the aroma of food to be around in the air and it makes the customers that come to ply soccer also eat at soccer city and not elsewhere which further increases sales at soccer city by people buying food there between games and not eating at any other restaurants Upon walking through the doors, the loud chatter of people urgently calling for teammates to get the ball, or the thunderous sounds the ball makes when it hits against the field walls soon fills ears and connects people instantly with the live atmosphere. This noisy atmosphere isn t for everyone but for those rowdy soccer players this is paradise. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The grooves progressed from eighty and a hundred grooves per inch to an immense two hundred twenty four and two hundred twenty six grooves per inch (Osborne 92). By having these micro grooves, the length of the recorded audio could now be extended. The LPs displayed the capabilities of twenty three minutes playback per side. Because artists recorded in clean recording rooms to prevent any noise and sound distortion picked up by audio equipment, they also presented a cleaner sound than the hissing noise shellac records produced. • 15. Functions Of Type Vii Collagen Pathophysiology The COL7A1 gene contains the instruction manual for making proteins that are used for strengthening and supporting the connective tissue in the body which includes tendons, ligaments, bones and skin. The proteins produced from the COL7A1 gene, called pro О±1 (VII) chains, are the components of type VII collagen. (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/COL7A1) When three pro О±1 (VII) chains twist together, they form a triple stranded molecule called a procollagen, these molecules are secreted by the cell and are processed by enzymes which remove extra protein segments. When these procollagen molecules are processed by getting rid of the extra segment on the ends, they then can arrange themselves into longer, thinner bundles of mature type VII collagen. Type VII collagen is the major component of anchoring fibrils which is found in the basement membrane zone, which is a two layer membrane found between the epidermis, and the dermis. Anchoring fibrils hold the two layers of skin together by connecting the epidermal basement membrane to the dermis. (http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/gene/COL7A1) Without the anchoring fibrils holding those layers together the skin become extremely fragile and blistering occurs with the slightest of trauma, heat, rubbing or friction. Injury may also occur from the removal of adhesive tape or tight clothing. Children with EB are called Butterfly Children because their skin is so fragile, like a butterfly s wings. Diagnosis ... Through this act, it was acknowledged that audio recordings were worthy of legal copyright protection. This was the beginning of a new era for the music industry. The Sound Recording Amendment was enacted due to the bootlegging of vinyl records in hope of preventing the coping of music. Coincidentally, the issue of bootlegging music remains unsolved. Much of the animosity toward our existing copyright framework stems from the unpopular tactics of the record industry, which tries to enforce copyright laws to sustain an increasingly outmoded system. With the introduction of the Sony Walkman in 1979, music became more limited in format while remaining extremely versatile and convenient. Eventually, the persistent Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) was granted the right to earn taxes on every sale of a blank tape. Billy Joel released his 52 Street, the first CD released in the world, and began the launch of sales of the standard Compact Disc (CD). The 80s quickly became the most explosively successful decade in recording audio history due to the rapid replacement of tapes by consumers. • 18. Women s Rights And Gender Equality Essay At first glance, the words feminism, veganism, and locavorism may induce many different thoughts and images. One might think of a celebrity, a stereotype, a character trait, or a group of specifically similar people associated with each word. For some, these three words may not even bring anything or anyone significant to mind. But no matter what thoughts arise through them, all three of these words represent an ideology, and two of them commonly have to do with diet. Feminism, or the advocacy of women s rights and gender equality, and veganism, or the lifestyle and diet of avoiding animal products, are widely known and decently popular. However, locavorism, which is the lifestyle and diet of purchasing and eating locally and sustainably grown food in order to help the environment and be healthy, is more of a modern concept that was not always relevant or present in American society. In fact, it only became popular in the past decade (Rudy, 2012, p. 27). Nonetheless, the point still stands that feminism, veganism, and locavorism may not seem to have any connections aside from the fact that they are indeed all ideologies and they share a suffix. However, when observed on a deeper level, it is discovered that the widely held feminist views of gender and socioeconomic equality coincide with the views of vegans that also focus on equality for beings thought to be inferior. Ernest Hemingway s novel, A Farewell to Arms, follows the life of the Italian Speaking, American Frederic Henry as he joins the war on behalf of the Italians, is injured by a bombshell, and flees after his recovery. In his most popular novel, A Farewell to Arms , Hemingway utilizes the motif of whorehouses, sporadic syntax during Henry s rampant drunkenness, and understatement when Henry encounters death to illustrate how war morally decays the ordinary man. The longer a person held a prominent title, the more suitable he was to become the butt of a joke. If the person was also greedy and caught in the act of doing a crime to the public, he was ensuring that he would be the target of a Greek comedy (Sommerstein, 1996). The reason the length of time that someone held a position of power was, and still is, important is because time offers opportunities to either gain shame or respect. For those who gained the former, the audience would be able to instantly connect to the theme emerging from the ridicule. Today, The Rick Mercer Report imitates the comedies of Ancient Greece by showcasing the less than attractive characteristics of prominent Canadian politicians. The humiliation of the politicians is the theme of the show, and it is not intended for political information, but for satirical entertainment. The reason the audience is able to connect to the theme is because of prior knowledge of the politicians (Onusko, 2011, p. 140). The charming, loving, brother in law of Cornelia Brown, and probably the best father figure in Clare Hobbs life. The reason I enjoy his character so much is because he reminds me of my mom. I know this seems weird because Teo is much younger than my mother and a guy, but it s true. The reason I say this is because both Teo and my mom share a quality that I admire in both: the ability to give great advice and comfort. Throughout the story Clare searches for guidance and someone with whom she can share her feelings, and when she can t find this in her biological father she turns toward Teo. • 35. Richard Cory Synthesis Samantha Garcia C. Buttler English 1302 November 6, 2016 Essay 2: Synthesis Paper No matter what we are, and what we sing, Time finds a withered leaf in every laurel (Robinson). Richard Cory written by Edwin Arlington Robinson, tells a simple yet thought provoking story of a charming man who everyone envied, because he seemed to have his life completely well put together. In the poem, the people of the town seemed to be unhappy and resent what they thought was a humdrum life. But it was Richard Cory who was the one truly not happy, the moral of the poem is: appreciate your current status because money certainly does not buy happiness. For good reason, I believe Robinson wants the reader to reflect that when Richard Cory died, he was probably a very lonely and sad man. A supporting fact of this would be the lack of relationships in any form throughout the poem. With no lover, no family, and no friends, it could be assumed as one factor in the decision making to end his life. It can also be assumed Richard Cory appears to keep all of his emotions hidden from the rest of the world through his everyday routine. (Richard Cory Analysis) I connect this as Richard Cory was living a lie every day he was hiding his humanly need for relationships. Whenever Richard Cory went down town (Robinson, Richard Cory) more than likely the only form of socializing he had. He was alone and unhappy and was going down town greeting the townspeople. This why Richard Cory went home and put a bullet through his head (Robinson, Richard Cory) he could no longer live a lie and committed suicide. I shall have more to say when I am dead (Robinson, Inspiring Quotes ), Robinson was trying to connect that companionship is essential to all people. Robinson was trying to ensure that although money can make a person happy, they may grow tired of it over time. When you become very used to one thing over time, it may begin to matter less and less. • 37. The Power And Ethics Of Language The Power and Ethics of Language It was April 2010. David Cameron and Gordon Brown were the political frontrunners of Great Britain. However, that realization was irrelevant with what was about to happen. Everyone was watching as the highly anticipated, first televised debates in the United Kingdom began. The discourse ended after several hours, and a new candidate quickly emerged as the leader. His name was Nick Clegg. He led the Liberal Democrats, the smallest party. One might think about it over and over again and ask, How did such a thing happen? . The answer, in itself, lies within the influence of the media, the power of language, and how its words are intertwined so masterfully that the effect becomes immeasurable. As Diane Setterfield once noted, There is something about words. In expert hands, manipulated deftly, they take you prisoner. They wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, and when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic. The press established a perception for Clegg and made it known not only to all those in attendance, but to everyone who was watching across the nation. • 38. The Inventions Of The Cotton Gin During The Industrial... During the Industrial Revolution, many inventions were produced. In 1793, Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin. Eli Whitney was a farm boy and was trying to make a name for himself as a manufacturer. About a few days later, he developed a machine to restructure the cotton industry. The pasteurization was created by Louis Pasteur in 1864. Louis Pasteur was a chemistry professor and was studying fermentation. He created this invention for beer because there was trouble with brewing and kept going bad while no one knew why. There is a big time difference between the year date they were both created. They both have been known for many years and are still being used to this day. These two inventions have made a huge impact throughout history and people s lives. Cottonhas been known for many years, but it was not used as much as compared to today. For many years, the only way to separate the cotton seeds from its fibers was to pull them out by hand. It was a very slow and hard occupation. The way the cotton gin worked was by; the cotton needs to fall through the feeder hopper, goes through a place where it comes into the wire teeth, which seizes the fibers for the seeds and comes out of the machine. Although the cotton gin was a very advantageous machine, it affected many slaves. It came with a number of unintended consequences, especially towards slavery. During this era, cotton was the most arduous plant since the seeds needed to be removed and that was a wearying process. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The advantages of the laparoscopic approach include a shorter hospital stay because of less postoperative pain. The catheter is positioned under direct vision with less bowel manipulation, thus reducing the risk of bowel injury and the development of adhesions(3). Laparoscopy allows us to replace the shunts in the abdominal cavity under direct visual guidance and cut them to appropriate size if necessary. In addition, laparoscopy is a diagnostic tool that can be used to exclude any other intra abdominal process possibly causing abdominal pain. Laparoscopy can be repeated several times in case of further complications because it is less invasive. This is not the case with laparotomy, which is more traumatic (3). The potential problem that has been raised is retrograde leakage of carbon dioxide into the ventricle. This was not recognized in our series and has not been reported previously.
