A Research Study On Varicella
RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES
VARICELLA
Hernan Ramirez
Health Science Technology
3/4/2016
Varicella Varicella is a virus that is caused by Varicella Zoster Virus ( VZV ) or also known as
chickenpox. Back in 1875, Steiner proved that the virus can only spread through body fluids from
other people who have the Varicella. People often did not know the difference between chickenpox
and smallpox until the late 90 s. Every year there are about 3.5 million cases of varicella, 9,000
hospitalization, and estimated about 100 150 deaths. In order to prevent that from happening you
may want to get the vaccine that saves about 100 deaths from happening.
Pathophysiology
Varicella Zoster Virusis a DNA virus and has almost the exact same genes of herpesvirus group
(www.cdc.gov). Which also makes the Varicella be part of the same family and strand of DNA
of VZV. Whenever you get the virus inside your system it will last about 5 10 days if it is not
sever. The symptoms before you know you might have chicken pox are high fever, headache,
tiredness loss of appetite. Other symptoms that are going to show on the skin of the patient are
rashes all over the body, blisters all over your body that have liquid inside them eventually turning
them into scabs. The rash usually shows on the face and chest later on spreading all over the body.
About in a week all blisters should have already been turned to scabs. Some rare complications
with varicella include Rare

Johann Sebastian Bach Essay
Johann Sebastian Bach was one of the greatest composers in Western musical history. More than
1,000 of his compositions survive. Some examples are the Art of Fugue, Brandenburg Concerti,
the Goldberg Variations for Harpsichord, the Mass in B Minor, the motets, the Easter and
Christmas oratorios, Toccata in F Major, French Suite No 5, Fugue in G Major, Fugue in G Minor (
The Great ), St. Matthew Passion, and Jesu Der Du Meine Seele. He came from a family of
musicians. There were over 53 musicians in his family over a period of 300 years. br br Johann

In Weimar, he assumed the post of organist and concertmaster in the chapel. He remained in
Weimar for nine years, and there he composed his first wave of major works, including organ
showpieces and cantatas. br br By this stage in his life, Bach had developed a reputation as a
brilliant, yet inflexible, musical talent. His qualities on the organ was unequaled in Europe, in
fact, he toured regularly as a solo virtuoso. His growing mastery of compositional forms, like the
fugue and the canon, was already attracting interest from the musical establishment which, in his
day, was the Lutheran church. But, like many people of great talent, he was never very good at
playing the political game, and consequently suffered drawbacks in his career. He was passed
over for a major position, which was Kapellmeister (Chorus Master) of Weimar, in 1716. Partly in
reaction to this situation, he left Weimar the following year to take a job as court conductor in
Anhalt Cothen. There, he slowed his writings of church cantatas, and instead concentrated on
instrumental music. His time Anhalt Cothen in period produced, along with other masterpieces,
the Brandenburg Concerti. br br While at Cothen, Bach s wife, Maria Barbara, died. Bach
remarried soon after to Anna Magdalena and went ahead with his work. He also went ahead in the
baby making department, producing 13 children with his new wife six of which survived

World Population and Beak Size
Before you undertake this assignment, please read carefully the handout that gives an overview of
EvolutionLab. This will make it much easier for you to understand the assignment and complete it
correctly. 1. There are many ecological and biological factors that affect evolution. In
EvolutionLab, two populations of finches are tracked over the course of 300 years on two different
islands to see how changing the traits of the birds and their environment affect their long term
viability as a sustainable population. Let s begin by doing a null experiment where conditions are
identical on the two islands. Set the revisit in drop down menu to 300 years and then click the Run
Experiment button. Click the Input Summary tab and note that in... Show more content on

Why do you think the Darwin Island finches survived this time even though the clutch size was
small? a. The differences between Darwin Island and Wallace Island are just due to random
chance. b. Although clutch size was smaller on Darwin Island, the initial beak size was large
enough to allow the finches to utilize the hard seeds and survive. On both Darwin Island and
Wallace Island the populations grew and adapted to the hard seeds available. c. Clutch size must
have increased on Darwin Island. 9. Precipitation plays an important role in the evolution of
these finches. Low levels of precipitation results in plants that produce hard seeds. High levels of
precipitation favor plants that produce smaller softer seeds. Medium levels of rain produce
medium seeds. Click the New Expt button and then click the Change Inputs button. Click the
Precipitation button. Notice the percentage distribution of hard seeds, medium seeds, and soft
seeds as precipitation is changed. Finches with small beaks are better at utilizing soft seeds as a
food source. Medium and hard seeds require larger beaks. Increase the annual precipitation on
Darwin Island to 100.0 cm/year and Wallace Island to 10.0 cm/year. Now click on the Beak Size
button and set the initial beak size on both islands to 20 mm. Click the Done button and Run

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Mr. Edward O. Wilson
The subject of environmentalists is one that is just asking for a series of childish bickering
amongst fully grown adults. No one can ever agree to disagree because everyone wants to be
right. Of course, that is impossible, but God forbid that people just come to a reasonable
agreement to leave opinions as they are, opinions. Mr. Edward O. Wilson does a very good job
illustrating how pointless these political arguments are. How does he do this? He simply writes his
own passages, setting himself in the shoes of both of the opposing parties. In the first passage, the
one that is in the point of view of an anti environmentalist, immediately starts off with name calling.
Which instantly categorizes this passage as juvenal satire. This passage proceeds to call
environmental supporters a series of negative slang terms. As the passage continues, it is claimed
that these enviros are part of some sort of government conspiracy. Their aim is to expand
government, especially the federal government. They want environmental laws and regulatory
surveillance to create government supported jobs for their kind of bureaucrats, lawyers, and
consultants. In continuation of Wilson s writing, he proceeds to write another... Show more content

Wilson uses his writing skills to rather accurately portray both environmentalists and anti
environmentalists. Clearly, political arguments are never going to come to an end. Each person in
the world will continue to have their own opinions. Which is exactly what Wilson was trying to
prove here. Nobody is going to change their opinion for the sake to annihilate arguments, humans
are simply too prideful. Arguments between opposing parties are useless and a waste of time. The
only thing to come of these quarrels is bitterness and anger. It s unproductive to waste one s time
on something that cannot and will not change. As frustrating as that is, that is the reality, and it is
about time that we as people to follow Wilson s beliefs and agree to

Root Cause Analysis
Root Cause Analysis is an important tool that many researchers and problem solvers use to
identify and solve problems. Not only do they determine what and how an event occurred, but they
also identify how it happened. It is also used to prevent some problems and events from occurring
again. When the reason why the problem occurred is identified, it can often be fixed by
discovering how to prevent the issue. In most cases the investigation leads to human error, or
operator cause, as they claim in the article. Root causes have many different definitions and these
definitions are; Root causes are specific underlying causes, are those that can be reasonably

The man that kidnapped Jaycee was a pedophile and constantly abused Jaycee physically,
emotionally, and sexually. Her captor was not mentally stable, which is one of the reasons why
she was kidnapped and held captive for 18 years. Other kidnapping cases are often about money.
People and children are taken and held captive while their captors demand money from loved
ones. Other kidnapping cases are about poverty as well as wants and desires. In these cases, some
of these children are taken because people want children but are unable to have them. Then their
mentality may believe that other people should not have kids as well, and so they take children.
They also could just want children really bad that they steal a child and claim it to be their own.

Uniform Commercial Code 2b the
A new law will probably be introduced into state legislatures which will govern all contracts for
the development, sale, licensing, and support of computer software. This law, which has been in
development for about ten years, will be an amendment to the Uniform Commercial Code. The
amendment is called Article 2B (Law of Licensing) and is loosely based on UCC Article 2 (Law
of Sales), which governs sales of goods in all 50 states. A joint committee of the National
Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) and the American Law Institute
is drafting the changes to the UCC. The UCC was drafted in the 1950 #8217;s and currently
governs the sales of goods but not products like software, which are licensed, not sold.... Show more

Article 2B says that the publisher doesn #8217;t have to show software customers the terms
until after the sale, when it #8217;s too late to do comparison shopping. By then, the consumer
has already started installing the software. The customer is deemed to have accepted the terms
of the contract if he/she uses the product instead of returning it. All of the terms of the agreement
are now fully enforceable as if the consumer had reviewed, discussed, and signed a paper contract
before the sale. Many of the shrink wrap software licenses say that once you break the seal and
use the software, you #8217;re releasing the vendor from all warranties. Basically, the software
has been sold #8220;as is #8221; and you #8217;ve given up your legal recourse if it doesn #8217;t
perform as claimed, damages your computer, or has bugs that lead to errors. Under the Magnuson
Moss Warranty Improvement Act customers are entitled to see the warranty of any goods sold
for $15 or more. It is not unreasonable to assume that software purchased for home usage would
be covered by the Act. But software customers rarely get to see the warranties provided with
software until after the sale. Article 2B characterizes mass market software sales as licenses, which
may not be covered by the Magnuson Moss Act. Products normally come with an implied warranty
of merchantability, which states that the product will be fit for ordinary use, it will

A Madman s Diary By Lu Xun Analysis
Many authors use their work to express their thoughts about the flaws in the societies in which
they live. Lu Xun masks his criticisms of the once feudal society in China in his story, A
Madman s Diary, by comparing the feudalistic society to cannibalism. The story begins with the
narrator going to visit two brothers. Upon arrival, the narrator learns that the younger of the two
brothers has recently been cured of madness, and moved away. The older sibling offers the
narrator his brother s diary for the narrator to read. After the narrator s explanation of how he got
the madman s diary, the rest of the story is composed of various entries from the diary the narrator
was given. In the diary entries, it is learned that the madman is very fearful... Show more content on

In A Madman s Diary, the madman is the only one who is truly in touch with reality. He is the only
one who is seeing the true cannibalistic nature of the feudal system. The metaphor between
cannibalism and feudalism is meant to convey to the readers the flaws of the feudal system without
Lu Xun directly criticizing the system. Even though the madman is currently terrified of the
society he is living in, he shows hope for a better future. In the last diary entry, he ponders the
possibility of the nature of this society changing. He questions whether or not there are children
who have not consumed other people. He says that the children need to be saved from the nature
of this society of consuming other people to live. This represents Lu Xun s belief that the
feudalistic society can change if the ways of that society are not taught to the children and that
he has hope for the future of society. ...The narrator cultivates and maintains the courage to hope
that the future for the children of China will be separate from the past (Laws 51). Lu Xun
conveys a sense of hope for a better future in China through the madman s hope in the story. The
madman is the only one who is truly aware of the problems of the society that they live in.
Everyone else around him simply seems to accept the ways of life. Metaphorically, this is
representative of how normal people are blind to the problems of the feudal system, and that it
would take a madman to see the issues behind how they are living. Lu Xun uses the madman s
fear of cannibalism in society to convey to readers his own fear of

Health Advantages And Cures Of Cycling
Cycling
Since the 1800 s riding bicycles is a daily life activity. It could be indoor cycling or outdoor.
These Cardio gyms are now known to maintain weight. Cycling can boost your overall fitness
condition. Because it is an intense cardio exercise that works the entire body at once. Day by day

Stationary Bikes are the safest riding then outdoor cycling. Here we listed some common cycling
injuries and their cures.
Are There Common Cycling Injuries?
My right knee just started hurting about 4 days ago. I am having sharp pains on the lateral side
of my knee. I had to bike the last couple days with just my left leg, which (wasn t a good thing)!
Hopefully, it will be better tomorrow! David Shirley, taking a few days off in Portland, Oregon.
Asking the question implies the answer; of course, cycling has its list of common injuries, which
are amplified when a cyclist rides cross country over a period of several months which is the
situation with David.
Head Injuries
Head injuries are common among bicyclists who do not wear helmets, which come as no
surprise, considering it is not that difficult to hit a pothole while gazing at scenery or to be hit by
a cell phone obsessed driver. About 540,000 cyclists in the U.S. visit the emergency room each
year, and of those, 67,000 have head injuries.

The Dark Knight Batman Comparison
First things first: I love Batman. Far from making me biased towards Batman films, this actually
makes me more critical of film versions of The Dark Knight. I hated the previous installment of
Batman movies, in fact. They failed to capture the darkness of Batman, providing a cheesy
caricature instead. Thus, I had some reservations about BatmanBegins from Christopher Nolan
before I first watched it. Nolan proved my concerns completely unfounded.
Batman Begins tells the origin story of Batman, as the title suggests. It shows how Bruce Wayne
(Christian Bale) saw his parents gunned down by a mugger, how he left Gotham afterwards to
learn about criminals, and how, in this version, he received training from Ra s Al Ghul (Ken
Watanabe) and returned to Gotham to combat crime. En route to becoming Batman, Bruce defied
Ra s wishes by refusing to finish his training by killing a farmer who killed his neighbor. Bruce ...

He is the best Batman and best Bruce Wayne ever on the big screen. As the caped crusader, Bale
brings the right amount of intimidation and confidence that make Batman the force of nature he is.
But in Batman Begins, Bruce has only begun his crusade. So, wisely, Bale is not as refined a
vigilante so there are moments when his confidence shakes and he shows more weakness than
Batman normally would. As Wayne, Bale brings the perfect balance of a billionaire playboy act,
genuine caring, and humor.
In case you hadn t guessed, Katie Holmes as Bruce s childhood friend and love interest Rachel
Dawes gives the only poor performance in the movie. She plays her role too stereotypically,
especially when Batman rescues her, as the damsel in distress and love interest for Batman/Bruce
Wayne. It s as if Holmes did not realize that Nolan wanted to create a more realistic, weighty
Batman. All the other actors give some of the most realistic portrayals of their classic characters
ever, but Holmes does nothing to distinguish herself from a comic book

Eveline Research Paper
Did Eveline Make The Right Choice?
The tale of Eveline is a very interesting story. Written by James Joyce in 1914, Eveline was part of
a collection of works entitled Dubliners. The story takes place in Dublin, Ireland around the time
of World War I. It is a narrative about a woman named Eveline who has a very important decision
to make. Eveline has met a sailor named Frank who is from Argentina and is visiting Dublin on
vacation. As the story proceeds, Eveline begins to develop feelings towards him and Frank asks her
to accompany him back to Argentina. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Eveline s mother
passed away. Before her mother died, Eveline made a promise that she will care for her younger
siblings. Asides from the challenge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As much as Eveline was abused, she still cared for him, and he has feelings for her as well. As
she remembers, Eveline states that her father was becoming old and that he would miss her.
Eveline then goes on to recall a time where she was laid up for a day, and read a ghost story and
made a toast for her. One might argue that Eveline s conscience is beginning to take over her
decision making. Eveline states, in her home anyway she had shelter and food; she had those
whom she had known all her life about her (par.5). As Eveline is about to leave she begins to
question the decision one last time. However, Eveline states, Frank would save her. He would give
her life, perhaps love, too, and it seems as if Eveline is now questioning the life that Frank might
provide her. by stating perhaps love, too (par. 18).
After taking into account the fact that she is unhappy in Dublin, Eveline is waiting at the station
for Frank. At this moment, Eveline is still unsure of exactly what she wants to do.If she went,
tomorrow she would be on the sea with Frank, steaming towards Buenos Ayres. However, as
Eveline came back to reality, one can argue that finally she woke up and realized that she knew
nothing about Frank. She was not sure about her feelings toward him and, her eyes gave him no
sign of love or farewell or recognition (para.

Use Of Diction And Its Effects On Adult Men With Erectile...
Sildenafil, or more commonly known as VIAGRA, is a medication that is geared towards adult
men with erectile dysfunction, abbreviated ED (Medicines EMC). It is stated that about 30 million
men in the United States suffer from ED (Viagra). In Viagra commercials and advertisements, blunt
diction is utilized to highlight the common insecurities of men, which creates this idea that in order
to fulfill one s manliness, then an individual would have to take Viagra. In this particular
advertisement, I noticed key ploys to entice a mansufferingfrom ED to take Viagra as a means by
using a bold selection of diction, a paradise getaway background seen from a cabana, and an
inviting, seductive woman.
In the advertisement, the audience may first notice the blue text in the upper left corner that reads,
Gentlemen: VIAGRA helps guys with ED get and keep an erection. The text is light blue, which is
the same color as the pill, to indicate that this product is targeted towards males. The use of diction
in this advertisement is straight forward with strong connotation. It blatantly states what the
product does. This could instill the idea that the product is confident and a guaranteed investment,
thus making the consumer believe that it may help with his sex life. Viagra may also be
intentionally bolded as a connection to what the product is intended to do. The text looks bigger
and bolder and the product s purpose is to make a male suffering from ED to become bigger and
bolder. This

1.7.2Neuro Imaging
Neuroimaging can be a useful tool in detecting physical abnormalities in the brain. Most people
with a severe brain injury will show an abnormality in a neuro imaging test. These scans cannot
detect all types of brain injuries, so it is possible to have a severe brain injury and be in a coma
even though the scan results are normal.
1.7.2.1Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan
A computerized tomography (CT) scan uses x ray beam technology to create a computerized
image of the brain one section or slice at a time. CT imaging is now the standard of care for a

CT image will determine whether there is hemorrhaging or a blood clot forming, brain swelling, or

Counterfeiting In The Fashion Industry
Consumers want quantity over quality. Nowadays, it appear more and more of the regular
consumers are uninterested in the quality of the product they buy, but rather how much they will
acquire from it. This leads to consumer purchasing fashion counterfeit products which is becoming
a rising issue in the United States and Europe. Counterfeiting is an illegal act of producing and
selling a replica of an authentic product without the permission of the designer. This market
expands from movies, games, money, even medicine to clothes and accessories. Counterfeiting is a
fast growing industry that is a worldwide problem which consumers play a vast role in. Aside from
harmless pirated movies and the danger of fake pharmaceuticals, fashion takes up the largest
portion of counterfeitgoods. To support this statement, according to Simms, Thomas explained,
luxury brands are among the most counterfeited products today the World Customs Organization
states that the fashion industry loses up to $9.7 billion...per year to counterfeiting (Simms 2). The
unethical act of counterfeiting continues to rapidly increase, it is affecting almost all areas of the
industry (Hilton et al. 346). This is a massive problem because it impacts the world socially and

Liz Volpi created her lithography printmaking painting Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias made with
Senefelder black ink on archival paper. The Spanish title means together at last in English. The
painting s subject is an animated character named Gibbi repeated four times in four images
illustrating three popular actions of the Three Wise Monkeyssymbol: see no evil , hear no evil ,
speak no evil , and the fourth one is the creativity of the artist do no evil . Each action is a
rectangle with different gestures of the subject. The artwork was presented in an exhibition at
Brookhaven College Gallery (F Building) in November, 2017 and belongs to Liz Volpi under
David Newman s instruction.
The work is a representation of the gestures of Three Wise Monkeys symbol from Japan as God
s advice to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and usually come with do no evil . Four parts
of the painting are centered on the subject with two thirds in space, so there is a small amount of
unused space on the top of each part for the background. Liz Volpi uses only black and whitein her
work with contrast between the subject and background. The color value changes from rectangle
to rectangle. If the Gibbi is painted black, the background is lighter with grey or white and vice
versa, which creates contrast and highlights the actions of the subject. The subject in top left and
bottom right images is painted in darker value than the background and the subject in bottom left
and top right is painted in lighter value than the background. Volpi uses broken thin lines to direct
viewers eyes into the character. The broken lines are the skin s type of Gibbi as description of a
different kind of species.
The repetition of the painting s subject Gibbi provides a sense of unity while the different actions
of the subject between the four images offer variety. This variety moves the viewers eye around
the painting. In each image, the viewers attention is centered on the various actions of the subject
s hands and the gestures of the subject s face to express the meaning of each phrase written on the
top of each rectangle. The first image on top left represents speak no evil with Gibbi s hands
covering her mouth. See no evil

Similarities Between Witchcraft, Wicca, And Paganism
Introduction
The terms Witchcraft, Wicca, and Paganism are often used interchangeably. However, the terms
have very different meanings and each term has a complex history. First, I will discuss each terms
brief history and then their definitions. Finally, at the end, I will sum up my conclusions concerning
the terms similarities and differences.
Witchcraft
The history of Witchcraft is difficult to trace because it remained a hidden practice for most of its
early history. Several of the scholars I researched argued that Witchcraft never existed and was just
the product of creative imaginations. However, noted religious scholar, Mircea Eliade, argues that
evidence suggests that Witchcraft was a very ancient practice. Standard dictionary definitions
define Witches as people who practice magick. However, the definition of the word Witch has
evolved over many centuries. For example, the Anglo Saxon word Wiccaor Wicce simply refers to
a male or female seer or person who can find out information by using majick. (1) In addition, both
Wyeh in Saxon and Wicce in Old English means to bend, turn or shape. (1) And finally, the
Germanic root wit means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The word comes from the Latin term, pagus which means from the countryside. (2) Its usage was
comparable to the contemporary use of the term hick, as an individual who is backward. It also
carried a negative religious connotation because Pagans were not Christian. Therefore, the term
originally meant anyone who didn t belong to a Judeo Christian religion. However, the term evolved
as societies grew and changed. Today, the term in its broadest, meaning is someone who follows a
religious path which is polytheistic. In addition, Pagans honor the divinity of nature and don t
believe that humans have dominion over nature. Finally, Pagans acknowledge the existence of both

The Serious Fraud Office
Under normal circumstances, I would have considered some other stakeholder, like employees
or customers, however I felt it was best to analyse how the actions of Barclays has affected the
amount of interest regulatory authorities, specifically the Serious Fraud Office (hereby referred
to as the SFO) has taken in the company. Regulatory authorities in general, fall into Zone C of
Mendelow s matrix, as discussed previously. They wield a high level of power and thus have the
ability to massively effect the running of a business if they so wish to do so. Under normal
circumstances these entities have a low level of interest in the everyday activities of a company.
However the number of corporate scandals such as the LIBOR rate rigging, has drastically

The New Testament Saul
Freedom Through Christ
According to writings in the New Testament Saul was dedicated to the persecution of the early
disciples of Jesus in and around Jerusalem. In the book of Acts, chapter nine, it is stated that Saul
was traveling on the road from Jerusalem to Damascus on a mission to bring anyone of the
Christian faith bound to Jerusalem. As he traveled the resurrected Jesus appeared to him in a great
light, Saul was struck blind. After three days Ananias of Damascus restored his sight. This
transformed Saul of Tarsus into Paul the Apostle. Paul then began to preach that Jesus of Nazareth
was the Jewish Messiah and the Son of God. Paul s experience that turned him from persecutor to
apostle was a prophetic call and a direct encounter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through Paul s letters it is clear that freedom is an important theme. Paul concludes his claim of
the freedom of Abraham s descendants with for freedom Christ has set us free (Galatians 5:1).
Paul uses the idea of freedom to persuade the gentile Christians into understanding that they need
not enslave themselves to observing Torah. It was proposed to the Galatians that gentile
Christians be circumcised. Paul believed this to be an act that would undercut the freedom we
have in Christ Jesus and instead enslave us (Galatians 2:4). So in disagreement, Paul urges the
gentile Christians to stand firm against the ones who support their circumcision and that the
Galatians be burdened by a yoke of slavery (Galatians 5:1). Freedom then can become the idea
that salvation does not come from being aware of the obligations of Torah. Paul instead, preaches
the gospel of salvation by grace through faith. This becomes misinterpreted though, and leads
some to believe that sin is acceptable because they are not under law but under grace. The belief
that those who have faith in Jesus may live in any fashion without worry of being condemned as
sinners and it may even improve God s reputation as gracious and forgiving towards those who have
put their faith in Jesus. Paul s response to those who misunderstand his teachings this way is that
their condemnation is deserved (Romans 3:8). Through this, Paul

The Benefits Of Parrots
Parrots are highly intelligent and intuitive. These birds have been monitored and tested for their
cognitive and intellectual abilities and the results have shown that they possess a similar
intelligence level to that of a young human child. For many owners part of the appeal of parrots is
the ability to teach them tricks. Teaching new parrottricks is not only entertaining for both the
owner and the parrot but it has the added benefit of helping improve the parrots behavior and it
has a positive effect on the sociability of the bird also.
Teaching a parrot is similar to teaching a child in that you should keep the sessions short and

As well as their striking colors they are a popular parrot to own because of their vocal abilities.
They are considered a close runner up to the African Grey species which is widely held as the
number one talker in the world of parrots. As with many parrots, all Amazon s have the ability to
talk but not all of them actually do, this depends on each individual bird where some birds will
never talk and others turn out to be great talkers. Many consider Yellow headed Amazons to be
the loudest of all Amazons and being playful birds they like to receive attention from their
owners and families by being loud. This loud squawking or screeching however can be trained
out of the parrot with human speech training which most owners opt to do. Overall they are very
active, humorous and intelligent parrots but like most large parrot species they can be
destructive which is why it is recommended that owners buy quite a few chewable toys and
branches. Yellow headed Amazon s are happiest when their environment allows them to move
around and fly, so an aviary is an ideal environment but an indoor cage can suffice as long as the
parrot receives plenty of exercise each day. Yellow headed Amazon s have been found to be easy to

Disney World Essay
My first trip to Disney World, now that, that was a memorable trip. That trip was one of the
most magical and happiest memories of my life. It was back in 2008, I had just turned 6 years
old a few months before we left to go there. It was summertime, and the weather was perfect. I
remember being so bored on the way there because I am an only child so I didn t have anyone to
entertain me besides myself. My mom s side of the familywent on this trip with us, and at the time
I was the only grandkid, and the only kid at all. So once we finally were almost there I remember
passing the big Welcome to Disney World sign and being so excited I peed my pants my mom
was pretty mad, but my dad thought it was kinda funny so I didn t get in too much trouble.
Anyways, so we checked in and got our room and our super cool disney cups and were all set. It
was night time by the time we got there that day so we didn t really get to do much that day. So
the next day we all got up and got ready for Hollywood Studios which is the part where all the
disney movies are turned into games and rides. That day was super fun, most likely because
growing up I didn t really watch anything besides disney movies or shows. So as the day went on
I started getting sleepy but I was pushing through the sleepiness because I mean come on, I was
at Disney World! This place was awesome! So we ride a few more rides and then my parents decide
it s time to head back to our room and eat some dinner. The next day

Alexander Hamilton And Thomas Jefferson
Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson had believed in American freedom and independence.
Hamilton was a founding father of the United States, served in the American Revolutionary War,
helped draft the Constitution, and was the first Secretary of the Treasury in Washington s Cabinet.
Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence, the 3rd president of the
United States, 2nd vice president, and the first Secretary of State. Since Jefferson and Hamilton had
different childhoods and adult experiences growing up, this may have led to a different political
view as well. Alexander Hamiltonwas born in Charlestown, Nevis, in the West Indies on January
11, 1757 (or 1755), to James Hamilton and Rachel Fawcett. According to www.history.com,
Hamilton, himself, claims that he was born in 1757, but official documents from Nevis list that
he was born in 1755. His father and mother did not have a successful marriage, which led
Alexander and his family to immigrate to St. Croix, where their father soon abandoned the
family. During this time, his family was too poor to afford regular school, so Hamilton was
educated by his mother and a clergyman at St. Croix. While his mother was running a store,
Hamilton was employed at an import export firm owned by Nicholas Cruger. Since Cruger had
liked Hamilton, he began to teach him an introduction in global finance. After spending time at
work, Hamilton would go to the library of Reverend Hugh Knox to learn more in

The Telegraph Research Paper
The telegraph not only united the nation with access to quicker communication, it was also the
foundation for advanced technology like computers and phones. It took many physicists, inventors,
scientists, and others to do research and experiments that lead to the telegraph an invention that
would change the world forever. In the 1780s, galvanism was unintentionally discovered by Luigi
Galvani while he was doing experiments in animal physiology. Galvanism is an electric current
made when two metals and a moist environment come into contact. Hans Christian Oersted made a
discovery that a magnetized needle could be moved by an electric current. This was an important
step toward the telegraph by varying the current with electromagnets, a message could be sent
through a wire! William... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He developed a telegraph that could send signals for over a mile. William F. Cooke and Charles
Wheatstone constructed a telegraph that used 5 needles and 5 wires, then 2 needles and wires,
and finally one needle and wire. The first practical telegraph, however, was made in 1837 by
Samuel F. B. Morse. The making of his telegraph was thanks to all the research that took place
for over decades. In November of 1832, Morse built his first model of the telegraph. The
telegraph used a portrule to turn the electric current s flow on and off. His original code was
number sequences each particular sequence representing a word. By 1835, his improved model
was larger and on it was a small picture frame that held a pencil. The electromagnets would move
the pencil to make dots and dashes on paper tape. A dot would be made by a smaller amount of
electric current, while a dash is a larger amount. Morse started working with Leonard Gale, a
chemistry professor, in 1836. Gale helped to upgrade the electromagnet and battery to allow
messages to be sent farther. On Sep. 2,

The same rules apply to the UK except to the second generation of citizen by descent (Macklin

the UK and also different from those of the US (Macklin Crepeau, 2010). At any given time over
the past century, almost 3% of the world s people were living outside of their country of birth,
suggesting that birthright citizenship is the most acquired citizenship method in the world and

still not a citizen) and some say it is over inclusive (such as a person born in Chicago to a

Analysis Of Julie Mehretu s Paintings
Julie Mehretu s paintings are loosely termed history paintings by Douglas Fogle and called
psychogeographies by the artist herself. A viewer is supposed to find something in themselves
much like exploring a city and figuring things out for one s own self interest. Mehretu is quoted
as saying my aim is to have a picture that appears one way from a distance almost like a
cosmology, city, or universe from afar but then when you approach the work, the overall image
shatters into numerous other pictures, stories, and events. Historically drawing is seen as inferior
to paintingwhich makes it interesting that Julie Mehretu would employ so much drawing into
her canvases because drawing is important to architectural drawings. How does the mapping
nature of Julie Mehretu s paintings convey a sense of identity in a very political nature and how
is it a representation of the post colonialist world in which we inhabit? Scholars all seem to agree
that Mehretu s canvases are maps, but what do they seek to accomplish? My analysis of Mehretu
s Stadia III will use a biographical and post colonialist methodology to explore the ways in which
Mehretu s own upbringing and how the very nature of her mapmaking, though very artificial, can
be seen as a way of both bringing us together and giving those groups that have previously been
neglected throughout history a voice.

The High Incidence Of Catheter Associated Urinary Tract...
The high incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) during the patient s
admission can result in further complication and could potentially increase their hospital days. This
could delay the patient s recovery time, causing emotional and financial distress and possible death
if CAUTI goes unnoticed. There are research studies focusing on the prevalence of CAUTI and all
previous studies show that it is in the best interest of the patient to discontinue the Foley catheters
as soon as possible to decrease the rate of infections. In some health care organizations, different
approaches have been indicated to tackle this problem. CAUTI rounding teams have shown positive
results leading to a number of health care facilities to implement the rounding team into their
practice for the benefit of the patient population.

Catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) have been studied in clinical situations where
it is in the best interest of the patient to discontinue as soon as possible to decrease the infection
rates. Prompt Foley catheter removal as soon as indicated improves patient outcomes (Magers,

Hymenaeus And The Graces Analysis
Long ago the city of Athens was amid war, fighting off attacks from savage warriors. Then came
a man, Tereus, King of Thrace to the rescue. He came to the aide of Athens and ended the grief,
as a result Pandion, the king of Athens, gifted him wealth and a marriage to his daughter Procne.
This sacred marriage was doomed from the beginning due to the lack of Juno, Hymenaeus, and
the Graces presence. Instead it was the three Furies who completed these rights. All was well the
first five years of marriage; they lived happily, had a beautiful son named Itys, and continued to
celebrate and rejoice their wonderful lives. Then one day, Procne speaks to her husband of her
desire to see her sister Philomela, and begs to have her brought to Thrace.

Society And Culture Of China Under The Ming And Qing...
1171 Society and Culture in China under the Ming and Qing DynastiesSare Aricanli Word Count:
1938 The personal characteristics of individual emperors played little role in defining rulership in
the Ming. Discuss. Because the Ming Dynasty was founded at the fall of Mongol rule in China,
Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of Ming China, had to be driven by harsh personal
characteristics. He fought with the Red Turbans against the existing Mongol rule, and afterwards,
set out to create a new dynasty based somewhat on the dynasty that existed before the Mongols.
Once Zhu Yuanzhang created his new government, he set the precedent for how an emperor was
supposed to act. From the time Yuanzhang passed on rulership to his son to the end of the Ming
Dynasty the variance in the actions of emperors varied just slightly. This contributed to the fact that
the personal characteristics of emperors played little role in defining rulership in the Ming. It is
important to keep in mind that the slight variance in rulership occurred after the initial actions of
the founding emperor the first emperor had to create the foundations of Ming rulership; however,
the actions of proceeding emperors largely maintained the status quo. Four main examples of this
continuity from the end of the founding emperors rule to the last Ming emperors rule will be
discussed. These include: recruitment for the civil service exams, the use of eunuchs, the cruelty of
emperors, or the role of confucianism in

Essay on Iago Character Analysis
William Shakespeare s Othello is a play that mostly revolves around jealousy, trust and revenge.
Throughout most of Shakespeare s plays, evil characters are not uncommon, but in my own
opinion, Iago has to be one of В– if not the most interesting. Even though Iago might be described
by some as being just pure evil or even intolerable , the truth still remains that people will read
deeper into the play just to see what Iagowill do next. Through his words and actions, which are
carefully thought out, Iago is able to manipulate others for his personal benefit. Not only that, but
he also manipulates people to get him closer to his goals. He is no doubt the driving force of the
play, pushing Othelloand everyone else towards the tragic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He figures this will make Cassio lose his position as Lieutenant, thereby making him the new
Lieutenant. Cassio falls for the trick, fights Roderigo, and loses his position. This leaves Iago
with what he wanted all along which is to be Lieutenant. With all of Iago s actions throughout
the play, it is clear to see not only is he evil, but he has no conscience. As the play unfolds, Iago
constantly lies and deceives people. From his wife, to his friends, it doesn t matter. In just about
every scene of the play, one can point out his deception or scheme. In one scene, Iago actually
tricks Othello into believing that Desdemona, his own wife, is having an affair with Cassio. Then
he ironically warns Othello about jealousy:
O, beware my lord of jealousy;
It is the green eye d monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on (3.3, 165 167)
and manages to convince Othello without any concrete proof, which is amazing. After this,
Othello is so filled with rage and caught up in Iago s lies that he refuses to believe Desdemona
when she denies everything. Othello knows that he can t let her live knowing that he has been
ridiculed:
But alas, to make me the fixed figure for the time of scorn.
To point his slow unmoving finger at! (4.2, 53 55)
Since he can t live in such a role, he murders Desdemona. At this point, much credit has to be
given to Iago even if people don t like him. His manipulative power, which gives him the ability to

Coca Cola in Africa
1. Why is Coca Cola so interested in Africa, which is typically regarded as part of the base of the
global economic pyramid?
Coca Cola is an organization that has been around since 1892. Coca Cola is looking for new
emerging growth markets and Africa has proven to be that. Combined, 12 of the African countries
have a GDP greater than that of Chine. Coca Cola has 29% of the market share in Africa.
2. What unique resources and capabilities does Coca Cola have that will help it compete well in
Africa?

Sales in the United States are declining due to the public concern over sugar. Sales in Europe and
Japan are flat, while markets in China and India offer up strong completion for Coca Cola. Africa
s middle class population is growing at a steady rate, so the disposable income is increasing. This
creates an opportunity for Coca Cola to tap into growth opportunities (Natalia Cheverri 2012).
How does it work?
Although there are areas in Africa lacking infrastructure, Coca Cola operates in every country. Coca
Cola utilized a franchising manufacturing model that works perfectly for operating in Africa. Coca
Cola partnered with local licensed bottling groups to help create the product. Coca Cola
manufactures the syrup concentrate and sells to the bottlers. The bottlers add filtered water,
carbonation, and sweetener to make the final product. With this model, Coca Cola is sharing the
wealth with local investors/community members. This creates sustainable business and improves
community buy in with Coca Cola s existence in Africa (Maritz Jaco 2010). Because partnerships
are formed with local bottlers and local members of the community, there is a vested interest by
the locals to keep Coca Cola s business successful. Through these partnerships, Coca Cola is able to
help build the socio economic system in different towns.
Distribution
Coca Cola was having difficulty distributing product to different area of Africa with no roads. In

Romeo And Juliet Film Techniques
Baz Luhrmann, on completing the, red curtain trilogy has earned much success, which can be
traced from Luhrmann s evolution of cinematic techniques as well as philosophy of cinema. This
essay will examine Luhrmann s use of postmodern film techniques, by analyzing the, red curtain

the San Pacific Ballroom dance completion. To Romeo + Juliets multi voiced narratives. Climaxing

The Elizabethan play is re imagined as a modern action, love film, Bricolage. Luhrmann s Romeo +
Juliet takes aspects of the original Romeo and Juliet, pastiche, and includes them in scenes such as
the prologue, taking the original artifice and adapting its relevance to today. The techniques of
metafiction are also found, as Mercutio in Luhrmann s film is a black bisexual male. There is also
techniques of, flattening of effect where violence detaches the families members from emotional
lives. Baz Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet s multi voiced narrative, setting his movie in a country and
culture unfamiliar to himself contra to Strictly Ballroom, Luhrmann implementing Shakespearian
prose in place of modern communication within his film and filming Romeo + Juliet in a much

College Culture
Culture is characterized differently at every university, depending on the type of institution,
academic goal/concentrations, and its mission.
At Grinnell College, being a small private liberal arts university creates a culture of creating a
well rounded student. The focus is in shaping a student s educations in all the areas of study for
them to be well equipped for the ever changing workforce. It also states that they seek a well
diverse student and faculty body with different cultural backgrounds.
The University of South Carolina is a larger public university and one of their main goals for
students is for them to be active in their community. In addition, the university serves students from
a diverse background and provides different types of education being in classroom or ... Show more

Their main goal is to provide their students with a flexible form of education. Providing student

In the other hand, University of Phoenix is a for profit institution and creates a different culture.
Part of their mission is, To generate the financial resources necessary to support the University s
mission . Their mission statement of providing students with the best education is superficial. In
reality, based on the current issues that for profit institutions are facing, their main goal is creating a
profit.
I have always liked the structure of liberal arts colleges, because of their main objective of shaping
a student s education in all areas of study. Grinnel College type of education is the most appealing
to me, as it provides students with a well rounded education. I assisted student s through the
admissions process to private liberal arts colleges and something that makes their type of learning
ideal is the flexibility of their degrees. Students are given the option of even creating their own
degree, by blending different areas of

What Is Electromyography Is A Method For Evaluate Levels...
Abstract: Electromyography is a method to evaluate levels of muscular activity. When a muscle
fiber contracts, an action potential is generated and this circulates along the muscular fibers. In
electromyography, electrodes are connected to the skin and the electrical activity of muscles is
measured and graph is plotted. The surface electromyographysignals selected during the muscular
activity are interfaced with a system. The EMG signals from individual suffering from Neuropathy
and healthy individual, so obtained, are processed and analyzed using signal processing techniques.
This project includes the investigation and interpretation of EMG signals of healthy and
Neuropathic individuals using MATLAB. The prospective utilization of this study is in developing
the prosthetic device for the people with Neuropathic disability.
Keywords: EMG, action potential, MATLAB, Neuropathy.

Comparison Between Surface And Ipad Ads Essay
Flat Out Computing
A Comparison between Surface and iPad Ads
Edison vs. Tesla. Colt vs. Wesson. Sarnoff v.s Farnsworth. Throughout modern history, rivalry and
the race for dominance have plagued the ever accelerating world of technology. In the early 1900s
bicycle shop owners Orville and Wilber Wright battled with Glenn Curtiss, a motorcycle engineer,
in pioneering powered flight. Later, in the middle of the same century, the United States and the
Soviet Union stood nose to nose as they wrestled to prove each other s superiority in outer space
exploration. This century brings a new challenge for technology makers to fight about: Information,
and particularly, the way in which consumers consume it. Computer giants, Microsoft and Apple
have been at each other s throats since the 1980s, and to this day the two companies still can t
get along like mature adults, but they continue to compete by inventing better and faster ways for
people around the world to work, learn and play. As we will see, their competitive advertising
says volumes about the personalities of the companies and the audiences for which they strive, and
we ll excavate this by comparing two very different ads for two very similar products, the
Microsoft Surface Tablet and the Apple iPad. When it comes down to pure, objective logic, I found
the dry security of the Microsoft ad most effective as a sales piece, compared to the vague and
emotional iPad spot, because it has the most complete and abundant product

Out Of This Furnace Analysis
The book Out of This Furnace by Thomas Bell tells stories of three generations of an immigrant
family in the 19th century. The first part of the book is about the story of Kracha, our first
protagonist. Kracha left Slovakia to come to America for more opportunities. As Kracha settled in
America, he married Elena. Life in the United States was rough for the Kracha s family, and it
turned out just as difficult as in his homeland. Kracha worked different jobs and realized that they
were all low wage. He ended up working at the Mills.
The next story is about Kracha s son in law, Mike Dobrejcak who married to Mary. When Mike
was killed in a terrible accident at the Mills, Mary had to do her best to raise their children. The
next story is about Dobie, one of Mary s sons. As the story progresses the next generation has an
easier life than the previous one. However, they struggled to make a living. For example, Dobie did
illegal work for a living.
The experiences of George Kracha were very similar to those experiences of many immigrants to
the United States in the late 19th century. The Narrator state Kracha left his Hungarian village
because he had no other choices, it may be that he hoped he was likewise leaving behind the
endless poverty in Franz Josef s empire (Bell, p3). Kracha ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In fact, I have learned a lot of things about the 1980s: the challenging problems of the U.S
immigrants, how badly workers were treated by the steel and railroad industries, and the important
roles of the worker s unions. The most profound idea would be how tough were the Krachas
against all odds. They have had more bad days than good days, and yet they did not give up their
dreams. The Krachas have endured all the struggles and problems with the hope to live a better
future. The Krachas undying spirit has taught me to not take things for granted and strive to work

  • 2. A Research Study On Varicella RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES VARICELLA Hernan Ramirez Health Science Technology 3/4/2016 Varicella Varicella is a virus that is caused by Varicella Zoster Virus ( VZV ) or also known as chickenpox. Back in 1875, Steiner proved that the virus can only spread through body fluids from other people who have the Varicella. People often did not know the difference between chickenpox and smallpox until the late 90 s. Every year there are about 3.5 million cases of varicella, 9,000 hospitalization, and estimated about 100 150 deaths. In order to prevent that from happening you may want to get the vaccine that saves about 100 deaths from happening. Pathophysiology Varicella Zoster Virusis a DNA virus and has almost the exact same genes of herpesvirus group (www.cdc.gov). Which also makes the Varicella be part of the same family and strand of DNA of VZV. Whenever you get the virus inside your system it will last about 5 10 days if it is not sever. The symptoms before you know you might have chicken pox are high fever, headache, tiredness loss of appetite. Other symptoms that are going to show on the skin of the patient are rashes all over the body, blisters all over your body that have liquid inside them eventually turning them into scabs. The rash usually shows on the face and chest later on spreading all over the body. About in a week all blisters should have already been turned to scabs. Some rare complications with varicella include Rare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Weimar, he assumed the post of organist and concertmaster in the chapel. He remained in Weimar for nine years, and there he composed his first wave of major works, including organ showpieces and cantatas. br br By this stage in his life, Bach had developed a reputation as a brilliant, yet inflexible, musical talent. His qualities on the organ was unequaled in Europe, in fact, he toured regularly as a solo virtuoso. His growing mastery of compositional forms, like the fugue and the canon, was already attracting interest from the musical establishment which, in his day, was the Lutheran church. But, like many people of great talent, he was never very good at playing the political game, and consequently suffered drawbacks in his career. He was passed over for a major position, which was Kapellmeister (Chorus Master) of Weimar, in 1716. Partly in reaction to this situation, he left Weimar the following year to take a job as court conductor in Anhalt Cothen. There, he slowed his writings of church cantatas, and instead concentrated on instrumental music. His time Anhalt Cothen in period produced, along with other masterpieces, the Brandenburg Concerti. br br While at Cothen, Bach s wife, Maria Barbara, died. • 4. World Population and Beak Size Before you undertake this assignment, please read carefully the handout that gives an overview of EvolutionLab. This will make it much easier for you to understand the assignment and complete it correctly. 1. There are many ecological and biological factors that affect evolution. In EvolutionLab, two populations of finches are tracked over the course of 300 years on two different islands to see how changing the traits of the birds and their environment affect their long term viability as a sustainable population. Let s begin by doing a null experiment where conditions are identical on the two islands. Set the revisit in drop down menu to 300 years and then click the Run Experiment button. Click the Input Summary tab and note that in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why do you think the Darwin Island finches survived this time even though the clutch size was small? a. The differences between Darwin Island and Wallace Island are just due to random chance. b. Although clutch size was smaller on Darwin Island, the initial beak size was large enough to allow the finches to utilize the hard seeds and survive. On both Darwin Island and Wallace Island the populations grew and adapted to the hard seeds available. c. Clutch size must have increased on Darwin Island. 9. Precipitation plays an important role in the evolution of these finches. Low levels of precipitation results in plants that produce hard seeds. High levels of precipitation favor plants that produce smaller softer seeds. Medium levels of rain produce medium seeds. Click the New Expt button and then click the Change Inputs button. Click the Precipitation button. Notice the percentage distribution of hard seeds, medium seeds, and soft seeds as precipitation is changed. Finches with small beaks are better at utilizing soft seeds as a food source. Medium and hard seeds require larger beaks. Increase the annual precipitation on Darwin Island to 100.0 cm/year and Wallace Island to 10.0 cm/year. Now click on the Beak Size button and set the initial beak size on both islands to 20 mm. Click the Done button and Run Experiment button. Click the Beak Size tab and then the Population tab. Which of the following statements best describe what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Mr. Edward O. Wilson The subject of environmentalists is one that is just asking for a series of childish bickering amongst fully grown adults. No one can ever agree to disagree because everyone wants to be right. Of course, that is impossible, but God forbid that people just come to a reasonable agreement to leave opinions as they are, opinions. Mr. Edward O. Wilson does a very good job illustrating how pointless these political arguments are. How does he do this? He simply writes his own passages, setting himself in the shoes of both of the opposing parties. In the first passage, the one that is in the point of view of an anti environmentalist, immediately starts off with name calling. Which instantly categorizes this passage as juvenal satire. This passage proceeds to call environmental supporters a series of negative slang terms. As the passage continues, it is claimed that these enviros are part of some sort of government conspiracy. Their aim is to expand government, especially the federal government. They want environmental laws and regulatory surveillance to create government supported jobs for their kind of bureaucrats, lawyers, and consultants. In continuation of Wilson s writing, he proceeds to write another... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wilson uses his writing skills to rather accurately portray both environmentalists and anti environmentalists. Clearly, political arguments are never going to come to an end. Each person in the world will continue to have their own opinions. Which is exactly what Wilson was trying to prove here. Nobody is going to change their opinion for the sake to annihilate arguments, humans are simply too prideful. Arguments between opposing parties are useless and a waste of time. The only thing to come of these quarrels is bitterness and anger. It s unproductive to waste one s time on something that cannot and will not change. As frustrating as that is, that is the reality, and it is about time that we as people to follow Wilson s beliefs and agree to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Uniform Commercial Code 2b the A new law will probably be introduced into state legislatures which will govern all contracts for the development, sale, licensing, and support of computer software. This law, which has been in development for about ten years, will be an amendment to the Uniform Commercial Code. The amendment is called Article 2B (Law of Licensing) and is loosely based on UCC Article 2 (Law of Sales), which governs sales of goods in all 50 states. A joint committee of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) and the American Law Institute is drafting the changes to the UCC. All of the terms of the agreement are now fully enforceable as if the consumer had reviewed, discussed, and signed a paper contract before the sale. Many of the shrink wrap software licenses say that once you break the seal and use the software, you #8217;re releasing the vendor from all warranties. Under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Improvement Act customers are entitled to see the warranty of any goods sold for $15 or more. It is not unreasonable to assume that software purchased for home usage would be covered by the Act. But software customers rarely get to see the warranties provided with software until after the sale. • 10. A Madman s Diary By Lu Xun Analysis Many authors use their work to express their thoughts about the flaws in the societies in which they live. Lu Xun masks his criticisms of the once feudal society in China in his story, A Madman s Diary, by comparing the feudalistic society to cannibalism. The story begins with the narrator going to visit two brothers. Upon arrival, the narrator learns that the younger of the two brothers has recently been cured of madness, and moved away. The older sibling offers the narrator his brother s diary for the narrator to read. After the narrator s explanation of how he got the madman s diary, the rest of the story is composed of various entries from the diary the narrator was given. He is the only one who is seeing the true cannibalistic nature of the feudal system. The metaphor between cannibalism and feudalism is meant to convey to the readers the flaws of the feudal system without Lu Xun directly criticizing the system. Even though the madman is currently terrified of the society he is living in, he shows hope for a better future. In the last diary entry, he ponders the possibility of the nature of this society changing. He questions whether or not there are children who have not consumed other people. He says that the children need to be saved from the nature of this society of consuming other people to live. This represents Lu Xun s belief that the feudalistic society can change if the ways of that society are not taught to the children and that he has hope for the future of society. ...The narrator cultivates and maintains the courage to hope that the future for the children of China will be separate from the past (Laws 51). Lu Xun conveys a sense of hope for a better future in China through the madman s hope in the story. The madman is the only one who is truly aware of the problems of the society that they live in. Everyone else around him simply seems to accept the ways of life. Metaphorically, this is representative of how normal people are blind to the problems of the feudal system, and that it would take a madman to see the issues behind how they are living. • 12. The Dark Knight Batman Comparison First things first: I love Batman. Far from making me biased towards Batman films, this actually makes me more critical of film versions of The Dark Knight. I hated the previous installment of Batman movies, in fact. They failed to capture the darkness of Batman, providing a cheesy caricature instead. Thus, I had some reservations about BatmanBegins from Christopher Nolan before I first watched it. Nolan proved my concerns completely unfounded. Batman Begins tells the origin story of Batman, as the title suggests. It shows how Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) saw his parents gunned down by a mugger, how he left Gotham afterwards to learn about criminals, and how, in this version, he received training from Ra s Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe) and returned to Gotham to combat crime. En route to becoming Batman, Bruce defied Ra s wishes by refusing to finish his training by killing a farmer who killed his neighbor. Bruce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is the best Batman and best Bruce Wayne ever on the big screen. As the caped crusader, Bale brings the right amount of intimidation and confidence that make Batman the force of nature he is. So, wisely, Bale is not as refined a vigilante so there are moments when his confidence shakes and he shows more weakness than Batman normally would. As Wayne, Bale brings the perfect balance of a billionaire playboy act, genuine caring, and humor. In case you hadn t guessed, Katie Holmes as Bruce s childhood friend and love interest Rachel Dawes gives the only poor performance in the movie. She plays her role too stereotypically, especially when Batman rescues her, as the damsel in distress and love interest for Batman/Bruce Wayne. Written by James Joyce in 1914, Eveline was part of a collection of works entitled Dubliners. The story takes place in Dublin, Ireland around the time of World War I. It is a narrative about a woman named Eveline who has a very important decision to make. Eveline has met a sailor named Frank who is from Argentina and is visiting Dublin on vacation. As the story proceeds, Eveline begins to develop feelings towards him and Frank asks her to accompany him back to Argentina. However, due to unfortunate circumstances, Eveline s mother passed away. Eveline then goes on to recall a time where she was laid up for a day, and read a ghost story and made a toast for her. One might argue that Eveline s conscience is beginning to take over her decision making. Eveline states, in her home anyway she had shelter and food; she had those whom she had known all her life about her (par.5). As Eveline is about to leave she begins to question the decision one last time. However, Eveline states, Frank would save her. He would give her life, perhaps love, too, and it seems as if Eveline is now questioning the life that Frank might provide her. by stating perhaps love, too (par. 18). After taking into account the fact that she is unhappy in Dublin, Eveline is waiting at the station for Frank. At this moment, Eveline is still unsure of exactly what she wants to do.If she went, tomorrow she would be on the sea with Frank, steaming towards Buenos Ayres. In Viagra commercials and advertisements, blunt diction is utilized to highlight the common insecurities of men, which creates this idea that in order to fulfill one s manliness, then an individual would have to take Viagra. In this particular advertisement, I noticed key ploys to entice a mansufferingfrom ED to take Viagra as a means by using a bold selection of diction, a paradise getaway background seen from a cabana, and an inviting, seductive woman. In the advertisement, the audience may first notice the blue text in the upper left corner that reads, Gentlemen: VIAGRA helps guys with ED get and keep an erection. The text is light blue, which is the same color as the pill, to indicate that this product is targeted towards males. The use of diction in this advertisement is straight forward with strong connotation. It blatantly states what the product does. This could instill the idea that the product is confident and a guaranteed investment, thus making the consumer believe that it may help with his sex life. Viagra may also be intentionally bolded as a connection to what the product is intended to do. The text looks bigger and bolder and the product s purpose is to make a male suffering from ED to become bigger and bolder. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nowadays, it appear more and more of the regular consumers are uninterested in the quality of the product they buy, but rather how much they will acquire from it. This leads to consumer purchasing fashion counterfeit products which is becoming a rising issue in the United States and Europe. Counterfeiting is an illegal act of producing and selling a replica of an authentic product without the permission of the designer. This market expands from movies, games, money, even medicine to clothes and accessories. Counterfeiting is a fast growing industry that is a worldwide problem which consumers play a vast role in. • 20. Analysis Of Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias Liz Volpi created her lithography printmaking painting Las Cuatro Gibbis Sabias made with Senefelder black ink on archival paper. The Spanish title means together at last in English. The painting s subject is an animated character named Gibbi repeated four times in four images illustrating three popular actions of the Three Wise Monkeyssymbol: see no evil , hear no evil , speak no evil , and the fourth one is the creativity of the artist do no evil . Each action is a rectangle with different gestures of the subject. The artwork was presented in an exhibition at Brookhaven College Gallery (F Building) in November, 2017 and belongs to Liz Volpi under David Newman s instruction. The work is a representation of the gestures of Three Wise Monkeys symbol from Japan as God s advice to see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil and usually come with do no evil . Four parts of the painting are centered on the subject with two thirds in space, so there is a small amount of unused space on the top of each part for the background. Liz Volpi uses only black and whitein her work with contrast between the subject and background. The color value changes from rectangle to rectangle. If the Gibbi is painted black, the background is lighter with grey or white and vice versa, which creates contrast and highlights the actions of the subject. The subject in top left and bottom right images is painted in darker value than the background and the subject in bottom left and top right is painted in lighter value than the background. Volpi uses broken thin lines to direct viewers eyes into the character. The broken lines are the skin s type of Gibbi as description of a different kind of species. The repetition of the painting s subject Gibbi provides a sense of unity while the different actions of the subject between the four images offer variety. This variety moves the viewers eye around the painting. In each image, the viewers attention is centered on the various actions of the subject s hands and the gestures of the subject s face to express the meaning of each phrase written on the top of each rectangle. The first image on top left represents speak no evil with Gibbi s hands covering her mouth. See no evil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the terms have very different meanings and each term has a complex history. First, I will discuss each terms brief history and then their definitions. Finally, at the end, I will sum up my conclusions concerning the terms similarities and differences. Witchcraft The history of Witchcraft is difficult to trace because it remained a hidden practice for most of its early history. Several of the scholars I researched argued that Witchcraft never existed and was just the product of creative imaginations. However, noted religious scholar, Mircea Eliade, argues that evidence suggests that Witchcraft was a very ancient practice. Standard dictionary definitions define Witches as people who practice magick. However, the definition of the word Witch has evolved over many centuries. For example, the Anglo Saxon word Wiccaor Wicce simply refers to a male or female seer or person who can find out information by using majick. (1) In addition, both Wyeh in Saxon and Wicce in Old English means to bend, turn or shape. (1) And finally, the Germanic root wit means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he traveled the resurrected Jesus appeared to him in a great light, Saul was struck blind. After three days Ananias of Damascus restored his sight. Through Paul s letters it is clear that freedom is an important theme. Paul concludes his claim of the freedom of Abraham s descendants with for freedom Christ has set us free (Galatians 5:1). Paul uses the idea of freedom to persuade the gentile Christians into understanding that they need not enslave themselves to observing Torah. It was proposed to the Galatians that gentile Christians be circumcised. Paul believed this to be an act that would undercut the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and instead enslave us (Galatians 2:4). So in disagreement, Paul urges the gentile Christians to stand firm against the ones who support their circumcision and that the Galatians be burdened by a yoke of slavery (Galatians 5:1). Freedom then can become the idea that salvation does not come from being aware of the obligations of Torah. Paul instead, preaches the gospel of salvation by grace through faith. This becomes misinterpreted though, and leads some to believe that sin is acceptable because they are not under law but under grace. The belief that those who have faith in Jesus may live in any fashion without worry of being condemned as sinners and it may even improve God s reputation as gracious and forgiving towards those who have put their faith in Jesus. Paul s response to those who misunderstand his teachings this way is that their condemnation is deserved (Romans 3:8). Through this, Paul ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mehretu is quoted as saying my aim is to have a picture that appears one way from a distance almost like a cosmology, city, or universe from afar but then when you approach the work, the overall image shatters into numerous other pictures, stories, and events. Historically drawing is seen as inferior to paintingwhich makes it interesting that Julie Mehretu would employ so much drawing into her canvases because drawing is important to architectural drawings. How does the mapping nature of Julie Mehretu s paintings convey a sense of identity in a very political nature and how is it a representation of the post colonialist world in which we inhabit? Scholars all seem to agree that Mehretu s canvases are maps, but what do they seek to accomplish? My analysis of Mehretu s Stadia III will use a biographical and post colonialist methodology to explore the ways in which Mehretu s own upbringing and how the very nature of her mapmaking, though very artificial, can be seen as a way of both bringing us together and giving those groups that have previously been neglected throughout history a voice. The high incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) during the patient s admission can result in further complication and could potentially increase their hospital days. This could delay the patient s recovery time, causing emotional and financial distress and possible death if CAUTI goes unnoticed. There are research studies focusing on the prevalence of CAUTI and all previous studies show that it is in the best interest of the patient to discontinue the Foley catheters as soon as possible to decrease the rate of infections. In some health care organizations, different approaches have been indicated to tackle this problem. CAUTI rounding teams have shown positive results leading to a number of health care facilities to implement the rounding team into their practice for the benefit of the patient population. • 43. Society And Culture Of China Under The Ming And Qing... 1171 Society and Culture in China under the Ming and Qing DynastiesSare Aricanli Word Count: 1938 The personal characteristics of individual emperors played little role in defining rulership in the Ming. Discuss. Because the Ming Dynasty was founded at the fall of Mongol rule in China, Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of Ming China, had to be driven by harsh personal characteristics. He fought with the Red Turbans against the existing Mongol rule, and afterwards, set out to create a new dynasty based somewhat on the dynasty that existed before the Mongols. Once Zhu Yuanzhang created his new government, he set the precedent for how an emperor was supposed to act. From the time Yuanzhang passed on rulership to his son to the end of the Ming Dynasty the variance in the actions of emperors varied just slightly. This contributed to the fact that the personal characteristics of emperors played little role in defining rulership in the Ming. It is important to keep in mind that the slight variance in rulership occurred after the initial actions of the founding emperor the first emperor had to create the foundations of Ming rulership; however, the actions of proceeding emperors largely maintained the status quo. Four main examples of this continuity from the end of the founding emperors rule to the last Ming emperors rule will be discussed. These include: recruitment for the civil service exams, the use of eunuchs, the cruelty of emperors, or the role of confucianism in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout most of Shakespeare s plays, evil characters are not uncommon, but in my own opinion, Iago has to be one of В– if not the most interesting. Even though Iago might be described by some as being just pure evil or even intolerable , the truth still remains that people will read deeper into the play just to see what Iagowill do next. With all of Iago s actions throughout the play, it is clear to see not only is he evil, but he has no conscience. As the play unfolds, Iago constantly lies and deceives people. From his wife, to his friends, it doesn t matter. In just about every scene of the play, one can point out his deception or scheme. In one scene, Iago actually tricks Othello into believing that Desdemona, his own wife, is having an affair with Cassio. Then he ironically warns Othello about jealousy: O, beware my lord of jealousy; It is the green eye d monster which doth mock The meat it feeds on (3.3, 165 167) and manages to convince Othello without any concrete proof, which is amazing. After this, Othello is so filled with rage and caught up in Iago s lies that he refuses to believe Desdemona when she denies everything. Coca Cola partnered with local licensed bottling groups to help create the product. Coca Cola manufactures the syrup concentrate and sells to the bottlers. The bottlers add filtered water, carbonation, and sweetener to make the final product. With this model, Coca Cola is sharing the wealth with local investors/community members. This creates sustainable business and improves community buy in with Coca Cola s existence in Africa (Maritz Jaco 2010). Throughout modern history, rivalry and the race for dominance have plagued the ever accelerating world of technology. In the early 1900s bicycle shop owners Orville and Wilber Wright battled with Glenn Curtiss, a motorcycle engineer, in pioneering powered flight. Later, in the middle of the same century, the United States and the Soviet Union stood nose to nose as they wrestled to prove each other s superiority in outer space exploration. This century brings a new challenge for technology makers to fight about: Information, and particularly, the way in which consumers consume it. Computer giants, Microsoft and Apple have been at each other s throats since the 1980s, and to this day the two companies still can t get along like mature adults, but they continue to compete by inventing better and faster ways for people around the world to work, learn and play. As we will see, their competitive advertising says volumes about the personalities of the companies and the audiences for which they strive, and we ll excavate this by comparing two very different ads for two very similar products, the Microsoft Surface Tablet and the Apple iPad. The first part of the book is about the story of Kracha, our first protagonist. Kracha left Slovakia to come to America for more opportunities. As Kracha settled in America, he married Elena. Life in the United States was rough for the Kracha s family, and it turned out just as difficult as in his homeland. Kracha worked different jobs and realized that they were all low wage. He ended up working at the Mills. The next story is about Kracha s son in law, Mike Dobrejcak who married to Mary. When Mike was killed in a terrible accident at the Mills, Mary had to do her best to raise their children. The next story is about Dobie, one of Mary s sons. As the story progresses the next generation has an easier life than the previous one. However, they struggled to make a living. For example, Dobie did illegal work for a living.
