Protest Music In The Black Lives Matter Movement
Even in 2015 we still see how protest music is being used in the Black Lives Matter Movement. As
protests and anger against the police grew again like it did in the late 80 s and early 90 s F Tha Police
became the anthem for a new movement of civil rights protesters. In Ferguson, chants of hands up,
don t shoot turned to F Tha Police as the protests turned to riots. In Denver, protesters dumped red
paint over a police memorial and tagged the back of it f the police during a Black Lives Matter protest.
We still see how relevant the protest song is today even though it was released over 20 years ago. The
protest rap just like protest music in the 1960 s resonates with people. The listener has this stimulated

A profound number of the college students I interviewed felt that Bob Dylan s 1960s The Times They
are a Changin and Tupac Shakur 1992 Keep Ya Head Up a reference to the L.A. riots, spoke more to
their reasoning. They talked about how these two songs relied on human logic to establish their
arguments and convince them of their meaningfulness through their lyrics. Appeals to reason are
derived from logic and adapted in such a way as to appeal to and have an effect on an audience
(Bailey, 2006). The songs, The Times They Are a Changin and Keep Ya head up both explores the
illogical nature of the traditional way of thinking at the time. Throughout the songs, both artist use
verbal opposition and argumentative statements to logically criticize the traditional way of thinking
about race and war. In various stanzas of Tupac song, he draws attention to various injustices and how
blind the nation is when it still comes to race. He says They got money or wars, but can t feed tha
poor, say their ain t no hope for the youth and the truth is. It can t no hope for tha future. We ain t
meant to survive cause it s a setup and even if you re fed up, ya got keep your head up (Shakur, 1992).
In the case of this song many of the students felt Tupac gave great reasoning with how we have money
for wars but not to feed the poor and how the government and society does in fact setup some races to
fail more than others. The students came to the revelation through the reasoning given how this still
holds true even in today s society, with police brutality and unlawful stops because of the color of a

Hillside Strangler Case Solution
The Hillside Strangler was the name given to two killers who strangled and killed their victims,
dumping their bodies in the hills of Los Angeles. These killings took place during October 1977 and
February 1978, involving ten young women ranging from ages 12 to 28. With over one hundred law
enforcement task force members working to solve this case, the fear within the community was
undeniably present. It wasn t long before the clues would come in one by one, helping detectives solve
this heinous crime. Once two sets of DNA was revealed on the crime scenes, police realized they had
not just one, but two killers. The killers were later discovered to be cousins Kenneth Alessio Bianchi
and Angelo Anthony Buono. Kenneth Bianchi was born in Rochester, New York to a prostitute mother
and was given up for adoption when he was born. His upbringing was normal, but he was known to be
a pathological liar. He had a fantasy about joining the police force, but when he applied both in New
York and Los Angeles, he was rejected. In 1975 Bianchi decided to move to Los Angeles to stay with
his role model and older cousin Angelo Buono. He ends up living with Buono, becoming a part of his
sexual urges, and ultimately killing innocent women. Angelo Buono was also born in Rochester, New
York to Italian immigrant parents, and moved to Glendale California when he was five years old. His
interest about sex started at a young age, and as a teenager had claimed to have raped several girls.

Evaluation Of Audit And Assurance Standards Board
Title
The title of the proposed research is as follows; A review of auditors approach to audit risk in the UK
Introduction
As defined by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) audit risk is The
risk that the auditor expresses an inappropriate audit opinion when the financial statements are
materially misstated (IAASB, 2009). The purpose of the auditors is to obtain reasonable assurance that
financial statements are prepared in accordance with an applicable financial framework, are free from
material misstatements and show a true and fair view of the company. This is to ensure shareholders
are able to make rational decisions regarding their investment through reliance on the financial
statements. The proposed research would provide a better insight into available rules and procedures
designed to aid auditors in the assessment of audit risk, but more importantly, examine their own
approaches. It would be interesting to see how companies use their own judgement to identify audit
risks, measure their significance and deal with the findings. Additionally, awareness of the process and
approaches used by auditors to identify audit risks would enable shareholders to raise their
understanding about the accuracy of an audit opinion and so the extent to which it can be relied on.
Literature Review
One of the key sources will be the information on audit risk, the procedures and processes provided on
the websites by some of the UK audit companies

The Importance Of Animal Behaviors
Animals are more humanlike than you think! Animals have many humanlike emotions and behaviors,
but this can scare people or blind them. When it should boost conservation attitudes. Animals actually
have all the emotions as humans do, they just don t always show them in the same ways humans
normally do. Animals have all the primary and learned emotions but do not always express them in the
same way as humans do. Animals experience pain, but that does not mean they all show it in the same
way. For example, a fish will express grief/sadness by hiding or by swimming back and forth really
fast, and they will act really strange. Some chimpanzees, to grief, will stay around the body of a dead
friend for long periods of time almost protecting it ( Animal Behaviors ). This data is relevant because
we now know what emotions most animals do and do not have. Animals can also have many
behaviors that humans have too. For example, chimpanzees use tools to help them with everyday
tasks. An example is chimpanzees use sticks to poke potential predators to see how much of a danger
they are to them. Chimpanzees also use rocks to break nuts to eat (Animal Behaviors). This is data is
relevant to the claim because it shows us what kind of human like behaviors animals have. Humans
have primary emotions and multiple learned emotions. Primary emotions are emotions that are
expressed by all cultures and they are anger, sadness, happiness, surprise, disgust, and fear. Learned
emotions are

Stephanie Guttenplan Influence
No doubt, we all have wondered what inspires an artist. When looking at their paintings or drawings,
we often put aside the emotions and inspirations to pieces, simply because that information isn t given.
Because everyone has their own unique way to express themselves, it makes us wonder. Whether it is
a drawing, a musical work or an invention of some sort, each piece has a connection and emotional tie.
These emotions translate into the quality of the work. Mentioning that showing work to others,
whether it is a song or poem, can significantly improve it. Sometimes other people may see mistakes
that the artist may not have through their cloud of emotional attachment. Stephanie Guttenplan is no

Technology Of Failed Stretch Computer
3) Learning from past experience: The companies must maintain a record of lessons of their success
and failures to help themselves to be at a better position. George Santayana, one of the famous
philosopher coined a phrase Santayana Review speaks about those who overlooks the past and do not
pay attention tends to repeat the mistakes. IBM s 360 computer was result of technology of failed

Another example is of Boeing launches, based on the principle of Project Homework to eliminate
some serious problems. They worked on the comparison between the development process of 737 747
with those of 707 727. And came out with an inch thick booklet of lessons learned and
recommendations. Today 757 and 767 are the most successful error free launches in its history.
Similarly, Xerox also used the retrospective approach to find out the cause of failure of the company s

post project appraisal unit to review the earlier major investment projects. In this approach, two
concepts have been recognized the value of productive failure as contrasted unproductive success.

The Multi Layered Nature Of Synesthesia
The taste of beef, such as a steak, produces a rich blue, and Mango sherbet appears as a wall of lime
green with thin wavy strips of cherry red. Steamed gingered squid produces a large glob of bright
orange foam, about four feet away, directly in front of me. this sublime description by Day, a professor
at National Central University in Taiwan describes his neurological condition called synesthesia.1
Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which the stimulation of one sense is automatically
accompanied by a second sense. There are many different types of synesthesia ranging from grapheme
color synesthesia, associating letter and numbers with colors, to spatial sequence synesthesia,
associating numerical sequences to points in space. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Simner). Next came the first mention of synesthesia in scientific literature, Sir Francis Galton
published a paper about synesthesia in the journal Nature in 1880.( Guillochon, May,). Soon after this
publication a Swiss medical student named Eugen Bleuler and Karl Lehmann collected data on 76
synesthesia patients and compiled a book that now is considered a milestone in the history of
synesthesia. (Simner). As a whole the scientific community delved into the study of synesthesia in the
late 19th century and the early 20th century, but in the mid 20th century research subsided until the
1970s when the study of synesthesia was revived. (Carpenter). Synesthesia history was one of self
discovery and new studies and data about the condition.
The exact cause of synesthesia although not discovered; at the moment the cause can best be
explained by the hypothesis of serotonergic factors. Scientists do in fact though classify three
categories of how one acquired synesthesia. (Brogaard ). The three categories as follows are
developmental synesthesia, acquired synesthesia, and drug induced synesthesia. (Brogaard).
Developmental synesthesia is the most common type; it is the form of the condition that has continued
since birth or early childhood and is most common in people with autism spectrum disorders.

Barbara Mcclintock Biography
Barbara McClintock was born on June 16, 1902, in Hartford, Connecticut (Tracy). When she was
born, the terms gene or genetics did not exist (Keller 1). Yet, by the time she was finished with her
work, advanced terms in genetics, such as transposable elements had come about. McClintock was
born to Thomas and Sara McClintock. Thomas came from a poor background but became a doctor. He
also had an interest in science, which may have been where Barbara s interest originated (The Editors
of Encyclopædia Britannica). In contrast, Sara McClintock came from a much wealthier, more
prestigious background; her ancestors could be traced to Pilgrims on the Mayflower (Tracy). After her
marriage, Sara, who became a mother of four, was a piano teacher to bring in more money for the
family. At the age of three, Barbara was sent to live with her aunt and uncle for three years (Tracy).
She enjoyed her time with the extended family and returned to Thomas and Sara after three years ...

A professor at the university had given her a special invitation to take a graduate level genetic course
(Keller 35). At this point, McClintock developed a new attitude towards science: I knew I just had to
go on (Keller 35). McClintock received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1923, and two years later,
she received a master s degree (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). McClintock did not achieve
this degree the way she wanted to, however. McClintock s main interest was in genetics, but that
department (plant breeding) did not accept women (Keller 35). Instead, McClintock chose another
path, majoring in cytology, minoring in genetics and zoology, in the botany department (Keller 35).
McClintock went above and beyond what she had to do in order to graduate. She audited many
courses and took many additional courses, just for the sake of learning more (Keller

INTRODUCTION
The natural disasters such as landslide, earthquake, volcano eruption, wildfire, tsunami are disasters
that happens in earth s system which is hydrosphere, atmosphere, lithosphere and biosphere (Van
Wesper, C.J., 2000). As Malaysia lies outside the Pacific Ring of Fire it is excluded from volcano
eruption and earthquakes. The most dominant disaster in Malaysia is the landslide occurs during rainy
seasons.
This disaster can disrupt the stable ecological system and cause destruction of properties and also kill
lives. This growing economic impact has drawn worldwide attention to study about the landslide.
Nowadays the developments are taking place in high altitude areas at a fast pace. As it possesses
impressive view and a great ventilation many housing projects and vegetation projects are built in
hillside area. Hence it is vital to carry out proper mitigations and slope managements to prevent
landslides in the area undergoing development projects.
The prevent landslides from occurring, the area seems to prone towards landslides should be identified
before any development projects carried out. The task should be done by certified experts like
engineers and geologist to examine the area by studying the stability of the soil

Dna Barcoding And Its Effects On The Malaysian Market
There is very little customers can do to ensure that they are purchasing the fish they are paying for.
Producers and restaurants owners have a tendency to mislabel their products for their own reasons.
The main reason is yet to be determined but there are researchers who have made it their goal to
resolve this dispute and show customers what they are truly buying. Too Chin Chin et al. attempt to
utilize the DNA barcoding in the fish segment, to assess the frequency of fish mislabeling on the
Malaysian market (2015). DNA barcoding tries to standardize scientific classification by using short,
single DNA sequence, for example, part of the mitochondrial gene COI to distinguish between species
(Larson, 2007). The process begins with extracting DNA and using primers to amplify COI regions
from the DNA extracts via PCR. The sequences attained are compared to the available sequences in
Bold and GenBank databases to find the mislabeled products. Similarly, a character based key can also
be constructed to review the reference sequences for variable nucleotides that can serve as diagnostics
for the species you wish to study (Loweinstein, 2009). Along with Too Chin Chin et al., there are other
researchers who based their study on the same concept to find mislabeled seafood products in certain
parts of the world. Dana Miller et al. examined seafood fraud in two types of Whitefish in Europe.
Although, the motivation for these works are to find mislabeling in products using the standard

Michael Corleone Character Analysis Essay
III. Characters
A. The Godfather
Michael Corleone, the youngest son of Vito Corleone, initially doesn t want to have anything to do
with his family. He is apparently a law abiding citizen and is evidently a war veteran. He seems to be a
good natured and tries to avoid identifying with Corleone activites, yet is fiercely loyal to his family,
especially to his father. He is called by his peers as a civilian and refuses to acknowledge him as a
criminal. Wnating to live an ordinary life was his choice, until an incident where he botched an
assassination attempt on their patriarch; Vito Corleone, led to Michael trying to return the favor to
Sollozo and McClusckey. This will eventually lead him entangled with the family affairs. With the
family trying to prevent a war between other families, Michael starts to become more and more
involved. His vengeful nature, coupled with his ruthless intellect earned the respect of his followers.

He is intelligent, clever and an excellent speaker. Like the tagline of the movie, he frequently makes
an offer he can t refuse . Another trait is his ability to read people, especially during Bonasera s plea to
the don. He is also a ruthless person, if he cannot deal with words, guns and bullets will. Even with his
supposed evil, he is seen as many as a very loving father and many people love him. He was clearly
hurt when he found out Michael gunned down Sollozo and McClusckey, indicating he loved Michael
that he didn t want his son to be part of any crime. He is able to separate blood and water, and embrace
them both, evident when he adopted and raised Tom Hagen like he was a son. He also show a deep
sense of morality, not agreeing to the dawning drug business at first, and when he did agree, he
proposed that it should never be sold to kids and near schools. Near the end of his life, he became
more relaxed and was able to enjoy his remaining

My National Park is Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. I think that it is the most valuable because there is
a great diversity of habitats and animals there. Alpine Tundra is the highest ecosystem at Great Sand
Dunes. The conditions are too harsh for trees to live there, but wild flowers, pikas, marmots,
ptarmigans, and bighorn sheep live happily in these challenging conditions. The dune field with the
tallest dunes in North America spreads across 30 square miles. These dunes are a place of extremes;
the sand surface can reach 150° degrees Fahrenheit on a summer afternoon or drop to minus 20°
degrees Fahrenheit on a winter night. While the top 2 inches of sand are often dry, these dunes are
moist year round, kept wet by ongoing precipitation. This

Symbol In The Scarlet Ibis, By James Hurst
A symbol is an object that represents or symbolizes another object. In the short story, the scarlet ibis,
by James Hurst, the scarlet ibis is a symbol for Doodle because it represents him in life, in person, and
in death. One example of the scarlet ibis symbolizing doodle is the fact that both the Scarlet Ibis and
Doodle are out of place. For example, when doodle s father reads the bird book, he states, It is a
Scarlet Ibis, it lives in the tropics [South America to Florida]. A storm must have brought it here, A

Machines Overcoming Humans
As one would begin to think, about how much technology we humans use daily, they realize just how
much we are in need of it. As people, look back in time over the generations to where we no
technology to whereas now almost everything you come across you can find on the internet or on a
system. When reading The Machine Stops, it shows the reader just how naïve people are to how much
technology they use. People are so use to just having it that they do not even think about how much it
consumes their lives. As I have learned, in the past couple of months just how much we humans are as
a cyborg, made me just as gullible as people are to how much technology consumes our lives. When
first thinking about the concept of us humans are as cybernetic organisms I was skeptical about the
concept and did not believe we were as cybernetic organisms. As looking to see what a cybernetic
organism is, I found they are a human who has certain biological developments assisted or controlled
by mechanical or electronic devices. When learning that was the meaning I began to think us humans
are as cybernetic organisms. My first reading on the thoughts of cyborg, was You Are Cyborg, written
by Hari Kunzru, writing to Donna Haraway who does believe we humans are cyborgs. As one reads
You Are Cyborg, who sees that Donna Haraway, is not saying that we humans are physically cyborgs
that are all mechanically made but that we are consumed by technology making us cybernetic

The Difficulty of English Indian Friendship in A Passage to India
Ms. Mousseau
17th Dec. 2014
A Passage to India by E.M. Forster is a novel set in 1920 s against the British backdrop over India.
During the 1920 s, India becomes colonized by the European Government (mostly Britain). Since the
Indians are weaker compare to the English, their nation starts to get imperialised by England. Just as
the time, Forster visits India and becomes bothered by the racial oppression and deep cultural
misunderstandings. Despite of these issues, Forster tries to connect the friendship between the British
colonizers and the colonized Indians. Throughout the novel, major concern of the British colonialism
over India is that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the novel, colonialism produces social, cultural and religious issues among the two
colonial societies of opposing races. It s obvious that the English has tried hard enough to gain power
over India. The first object that has attracted the English is the mesmerizing background of India. In
the novel, as Forster describes, So abased, so monotonous is everything that meets the eye, that when
the Ganges1 comes down it might be expected to wash the excrescence back into the soil (Forster, 5).
The English first enter India as foreigners who were influenced by the scenery as described. Instantly,
they intend to become the ruler of India. Englishmen start to build their own colonies apart from the
Indian ones. Even though, the English had stayed in India as tourists, their construction of colonial
buildings suggests that they want to live further apart. However, in order to be the ruler, the English
had to communicate with the Indians. Some characters such as Mr. Turton, Ronny and Heaslop have
to deal with the Indians, but they keep the distance as minimal as possible. Due to their inhuman
characteristic, Aziz and his friends had to suffer a lot. This idea suggests that no matter what, a
colonizer and a colonized can never be close in a colonial society. The ruler will always be in power
whereas the colonized will be humiliated in every second of their lives, even though the country
belongs to them. Another social factor that had become an interruption

Stephen Spielberg s Minority Report
Stephen Spielberg s Minority Report, based off Phillip K. Dick s short story, takes place in the year
2054 and centers around a crime prevention program pilot tested in Washington, D.C. by the pre crime
division of the police force. With crime rates down 90%, the prevention program has proven to be
extremely successful; however, in a world of pre punishment the question remains: is it possible to
treat someone in a certain way because of what they may do in the future, even if it hasn t occurred
yet?
This film begins with three mutant pre cogs with the ability to predict the mindset and actions of
future murderers with 99% accuracy. Occasionally, however, the pre cogs do not all predict the same
outcome, with one pre cog predicting a dissenting future from the other two this discrepancy is

This investigation is spearheaded by Danny Witwer (Colin Farrell) who realizes that this deterministic
approach to crime, negating the offenders free will in the process of committing a crime, is not
necessarily engraved in stone. The head of the Pre Crime department, John Anderton (Tom Cruise),
rolls a ball off a desk which is caught by Witwer before it can fall onto the ground. Anderton asks
Witwer why he caught the ball, to which he responds, Because it would have fallen off the desk.
Anderton retorts that by Witwers logic, there is not definitive proof that the ball would have indeed
rolled off the table despite Witwers prediction. Nevertheless, he asserts that such is the case of the Pre
Crime system which knows beyond reasonable doubt that the would be criminals would become
criminals. Consequentially, the central concern surrounding the plot is that of pre punishment in which
would be criminals are pre punished for crimes which they have yet to commit, but presumable

Racial Stereotypes Of Muslims
Stereotypes is a fixed, over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people (Cardwell,
1966). Stereotypes are used to making interactions with new people easier. However, it also means
people forget differences of individuals and assumes based on generalization. Stereotypes eventually
leads to social categorization which creates prejudice towards groups. Racial stereotypes such as
described in Look, Mohammed the Terrorist is Coming! by Nadine Naber, they describe the
stereotypical Mohammed , an Arab or Middle Eastern Muslim man with a beard and brown or dark
complexion that usually fits the profile of a terrorist. It s not only Muslims who becomes victims of
this stereotype, majority of Middle Easterners, including Christians, Muslims, and even atheists, and
majority South Asians, including Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs. Another stereotype of Muslims that media
has constructed is around hijabis. Often if a Muslim woman is wearing a hijab, oppression,
conservative, traditionalism is associated with them. Rarely is it asked, was it your choice . Every
woman wearing a hijab may not have to option to chose to wear it or not, but often, it is the women s
individual decisions to decide to wear a hijab or not. Some will wear it when they feel they are ready,
some will wear it to be closer to God, and some will wear it as a step towards being religious. No
matter what the reason, it doesn t mean oppression, or being narrow minded. In every major religion,

Analysis Of The Poem The Night
Gemma awoke, with a huge yawn, on a rainy spring morning. She climbed out of bed and went to her
bedroom window to peek out as the rain went tap tap on her window.
Gemma heard the clatter of pans in the kitchen so she went out to see what her mommy was cooking
for breakfast.
What a wonderful surprise! her mommy had made her fishy shaped pancakes to fit with the rainy day.
Gemma s mommy smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the head as she said good morning my

The Importance of Drinking Water Essay
Drink Water Speech
How many of you, when you go to a restaurant and the waiter/waitress asks you what you want to
drink ask for water?
How many you would select a glass of water out a fridge filled with soda, fruit juices, or beer?
My guess is probably not very many you actually choose water over the other options.
I used to be the same way.
I used to never drink water, and would always choose another beverage if I had the option.
However, after I began to hear about the importance of water in our lives, I began to choose water
whenever I needed something to drink.
I am not saying I never have anything other than water when I am thirsty, but the majority of the time
I choose water over any other beverage.

So water is needed to dissolve these nutrients and be carried throughout the body.
As you can see, water plays a major role in many factors of your body.
Water even can help produce benefits outside of your body as well, such as your wallet.
For example, when you go to a restaurant and order a soda, that is usually at least $2.
You could instead choose water, which is free.
If you would also choose water when you go out to eat and save the $2, you would save a decent
amount of money in a year.
Also, a 24 pack of bottled water is much cheaper than even a 12 pack of soda.
Therefore, buying a pack of bottled water would save you money as well.
Another way that you could save money is by investing in a filter of some sort, and drinking water
from the facet.
This would definitely decrease your spending on beverages during the year and save you a lot of
money.
As you can see, there are many benefits to drinking water.
I hope you know see how crucial water is to your body and why you should consume it on a regular
basis.
You can only survive several days without water, so make sure you drink up.
And by drinking water to ensure you stay living well, you will have some extra money to spend on
things in your life that you can enjoy.

Analysis Of The Article Whats Up With The American Dream
What does the american dream mean to you?
The American dream, to me, means having the opportunity to achieve, because I don t think you
should be guaranteed anything other than opportunity (Leny Wilkens). The Article Whats up with the
American Dream is all about how the American Dream is changing. It s transitioning from going to
school, working hard, and advancing in your career to being handed a job through the connections you
have. The thesis in this article is We go to school, study, get jobs, and work hard, all with the
assumption that doing so will allow us to achieve financial security, rise up the economic ladder, and
perhaps even achieve financial great wealth. (pg. 539) The argument in this article is describing how
everyone used to have an idea of how their life was going to be, go to school and get a well paying
job. Today the worlds way of thinking has changed. Not everyone goes to college, and not all the ones
who go to college get a well paying job. The author claims that everyone had faith in the American
Dream the land of opportunity . He uses an example of how in 1867 when Horatio Alger published a
novel about Ragged Dick, someone who works his way up from poverty to a position of respectability.
Which is what the American Dream was all about in the 1800s, working your way up the success
ladder. In the pass everyone knew the American Dream and that was the goal in life. The American
Dream was an opportunity for growth and achievement. Everyone

Axon Brain Case Study
An arriving action potential depolarizes the axon terminal of a presynaptic neuron. Calcium ions enter
the cytosol of the axon terminal, which results in acetylcholine release from the synaptic vesicles by
exocytosis. Ach diffuses across the synaptic cleft and binds to receptors on the postsynaptic
membrane. Sodium channels open, which produce a graded depolarization. Ach is broken down into
acetate and choline by AChE, which causes depolarization to end. The axon terminal reabsorbs
choline form the synaptic cleft and uses it to resynthesize ACh. B. Differentiate between the absolute
and relative refractory period of an action potential. Be sure to include ion gates in your discussion.

Analysis Of The Movie Overlord
Overlord, a film with an interesting blend of historic footage and acting, does not present a heroic
view of World War Two. This film portrays a pessimistic view of the war using documentary footage,
as well as showing an ordinary soldier who died too young. Alongside this, at the time anti war
sentiment was on the rise and the memory of World War Two was being reshaped. The usage of
documentary footage in the film gives the audience a real view as to what happened during the D Day
invasions. Cooper portrays this particular aspect of the war in a negative light. Starting off, the footage
that is shown is simple arial footage of France before mass damage has taken place. Then as the film
progressed the footage that was shown grew darker. The audience begins to take in images of planes
bombing or shooting targets. Boats are sunk, trains are derailed, other planes are taken out of the sky,
and cars are engulfed in smoke. As well, footage of the devastation of the bombing of villages is
shown. Stores and homes are engulfed in flames, ruins of villages that once stood. The films even
displays footage of a bomb being dropped and the shockwave is clearly visible giving the audience a
sense of how powerful the ammunition being dropped was. All of this footage shows the death and
destruction associated with D Day. The decision to include this footage instead of something that
would make the audience sympathize with the soldiers, or even show the happier moments that the
soldiers

Freudian Psychoanalysis As The Forerunner Of All...
Reading response 3
Jones and Butman (2012) view psychoanalysis as the forerunner of all psychotherapeutic methods.
Freudian psychoanalysis theorizes that all human behavior is influenced by early childhood
experiences. Freud argues that human behavior is mostly unconscious and driven by conflicting
desires, feelings, fears, and motives. The goal of psychoanalysis is to resolve intrapsychic conflict by
bringing into conscious awareness the unconscious desires and motives of an individual. Through free
association, the unconscious is made conscious, and unresolved conflict or anxiety is resolved.
Psychoanalysis also seeks to challenge self defeating coping methods or defense mechanisms and
aims to replace the negative coping methods with more effective coping mechanism (Jones Butman,
2012) Freud s model of personality posits that:
1. There are three levels of consciousness: the conscious experiences, the preconscious experiences,
and unconscious experiences, however, all behavior is determined by unconscious experiences.
2. Human Behavior is determined by past unresolved events from childhood.
3. Human behavior is determined by the interaction of sexual and aggressive drives.
4. Personality is structured in terms the id, ego and superego. The id is pleasure driven, and seeks to
satisfy its needs. The ego is reality based and fulfills the wishes and demands of the id in the outside
world. The superego, a split off from the ego, characterizes internalized values and moral

There should be an observable line of black dots, the mature perithecia, growing along the dividing
lines that separate the four quadrants. Next, open the plate and using an inoculating loop, scrape some
of the perithecia from the middle of one of the four dividing lines before depositing the sample onto a
microscope slide. Use a squirt bottle of water to place a drop of water on top of the sample before
covering it with a cover slip. Using a pencil eraser or your finger, apply slight pressure to the sample
to release the asci from the perithecia without releasing the individual spores and slide around the

Invisible Man Essay
The narrator in Invisible Man has the opportunity to take on numerous roles in this novel due to his
invisibility. The narrator comes in contact with 3 main characters that greatly shape his life and make
him the invisible man that he is. The white men from the ballroom, Dr. Herbert Bledsoe from the
college, and the narrator s grandfather all have a huge impact on the narrator s life. In his novel,
Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison uses the main characters to affect the narrator s invisibility. The highly
ranked white people from the hotel ballroom affected the narrator s invisibility by humiliation,
embarrassment, and publicly degrading him. They ridiculed him while he gave a speech that took
much time and effort on his part, and belittled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entertainment not only came from the black men fighting over coins, but little did the blacks
know, the rug was electrified. The narrator tells us I lunged for a yellow coin lying on the blue design
of the carpet, touching it and sending a surprised shriek to join the rising around me. I tried to
frantically to remove my hand but could not let go. A hot, violent force tore though my body, shaking
me like wet rat. The rug was electrified. (27). The white men make the narrator feel inferior to them
by making him the course of their entertainment. They make him feel ashamed and worthless. His
feeling of invisibility not only comes from the belittling remarks they make, and what he has to do,
but also the thought that the whites have that much control over what he is doing. Dr. A. Herbert
Bledsoe is the president at the state college for Negroes, that the narrator attends. Dr. Bledsoe is very
selfish and ambitious. He shows his confidence through his posture and through everything he does.
He is very conceited and has to take notice in not only himself, but his work. The narrator explains As
we approached a mirror Dr. Bledsoe stopped and composed his angry face like a sculptor, making it a
bland mask, leaving only the sparkle of his eyes to betray the emotion that I had seen only a moment
before. He looked steadily at himself for a moment... (102). He is only concerned with the authority he

Similarities Between Ataturk And Shah

Essay about How Christians Interpret And Celebrate The...
How Christians Interpret And Celebrate The Last Supper Today
Holy Communion is very important in Christian worship. This is the occasion on which the priest
distributes bread and wine. This is one is of the seven Sacraments. A Sacrament is a physical act with
a spiritual meaning. It takes the form of a ceremony intended to reveal and to give a greater sense of
closeness to God. The spiritual meaning of Holy Communion is togetherness with God and each other.
During Holy Communion the priest takes the bread and wine, gives thanks to God, breaks the bread
and then gives them to the worshipers. This is known as the Fourfold Eucharistic actions. Eucharist
means thanksgiving. So the Eucharist or Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This serves the purpose of remembering the Last Supper and also brings a feeling of closeness with
God, Jesus and each other. It will also remind Christians of the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Holy Communion has four main meanings. The first is remembrance. Holy Communion
commemorates the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. Corinthians 11:23 25 writes that Jesus took and
broke the bread, referred to it as his body and said, Do this in remembrance of me. Similarly after the
supper he took a cup and referred to it as, the new covenant in my blood and said, Do this whenever
you drink it, in remembrance of me.
The second is participation. Jesus did more than just take and break the bread and take and pour the
wine. He gave these things to the disciples to eat, thus he was involving them in the last supper. So
today the Last supper is more than just a commemoration, where we remember a past event, it is a
communion in which we participate in the remembrance and share in its benefits.
The apostle Paul wrote: is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the
blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? (1
Corinthians 10:16)
This show that in Holy Communion we are meant to participate and share in

Importance Of Sex Education
Sex education provides information on sex, bodily development, sexuality, and aids in the making of
informed decisions in relationships regarding sex. Sex is human nature, yet it is still censored heavily
especially to adolescents who are developing and approaching the stage of puberty. Sex education is
about creating awareness and knowledge for those who are confused or have never been talked to
about human development and reproduction. Sex education should not be censored in schools; rather
it should be taught accordingly to help prevent unhealthy sexual relationships and understand body
changes as they age.
First, parents tend to avoid discussing sex and puberty with their children and still wonder why there
are many adolescents who have unprotected sex at a young age. From personal experience, my parents
always tried avoiding questions like How are babies brought to life? and What is a period? . They
would shrug and say I will learn in school. Though, these sensitive topics were never really covered in
school. Of course, we had the basic sexual education classes that talked about girls getting their
periods, sex protection, infections and diseases, but certain information was still banned. For example,
both men and women genital areas were censored. What I do not understand is why that type of
information is censored. It is part of life and is something everybody will eventually see as they start
having intimate relationships. In addition, it is important for both

  • 2. Protest Music In The Black Lives Matter Movement Even in 2015 we still see how protest music is being used in the Black Lives Matter Movement. As protests and anger against the police grew again like it did in the late 80 s and early 90 s F Tha Police became the anthem for a new movement of civil rights protesters. In Ferguson, chants of hands up, don t shoot turned to F Tha Police as the protests turned to riots. In Denver, protesters dumped red paint over a police memorial and tagged the back of it f the police during a Black Lives Matter protest. We still see how relevant the protest song is today even though it was released over 20 years ago. The protest rap just like protest music in the 1960 s resonates with people. The listener has this stimulated experience were they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A profound number of the college students I interviewed felt that Bob Dylan s 1960s The Times They are a Changin and Tupac Shakur 1992 Keep Ya Head Up a reference to the L.A. riots, spoke more to their reasoning. They talked about how these two songs relied on human logic to establish their arguments and convince them of their meaningfulness through their lyrics. Appeals to reason are derived from logic and adapted in such a way as to appeal to and have an effect on an audience (Bailey, 2006). The songs, The Times They Are a Changin and Keep Ya head up both explores the illogical nature of the traditional way of thinking at the time. Throughout the songs, both artist use verbal opposition and argumentative statements to logically criticize the traditional way of thinking about race and war. In various stanzas of Tupac song, he draws attention to various injustices and how blind the nation is when it still comes to race. He says They got money or wars, but can t feed tha poor, say their ain t no hope for the youth and the truth is. It can t no hope for tha future. We ain t meant to survive cause it s a setup and even if you re fed up, ya got keep your head up (Shakur, 1992). In the case of this song many of the students felt Tupac gave great reasoning with how we have money for wars but not to feed the poor and how the government and society does in fact setup some races to fail more than others. The students came to the revelation through the reasoning given how this still holds true even in today s society, with police brutality and unlawful stops because of the color of a person s ... • 3. Hillside Strangler Case Solution The Hillside Strangler was the name given to two killers who strangled and killed their victims, dumping their bodies in the hills of Los Angeles. These killings took place during October 1977 and February 1978, involving ten young women ranging from ages 12 to 28. With over one hundred law enforcement task force members working to solve this case, the fear within the community was undeniably present. It wasn t long before the clues would come in one by one, helping detectives solve this heinous crime. Once two sets of DNA was revealed on the crime scenes, police realized they had not just one, but two killers. The killers were later discovered to be cousins Kenneth Alessio Bianchi and Angelo Anthony Buono. Kenneth Bianchi was born in Rochester, New York to a prostitute mother and was given up for adoption when he was born. His upbringing was normal, but he was known to be a pathological liar. He had a fantasy about joining the police force, but when he applied both in New York and Los Angeles, he was rejected. In 1975 Bianchi decided to move to Los Angeles to stay with his role model and older cousin Angelo Buono. He ends up living with Buono, becoming a part of his sexual urges, and ultimately killing innocent women. Angelo Buono was also born in Rochester, New York to Italian immigrant parents, and moved to Glendale California when he was five years old. His interest about sex started at a young age, and as a teenager had claimed to have raped several girls. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Evaluation Of Audit And Assurance Standards Board Title The title of the proposed research is as follows; A review of auditors approach to audit risk in the UK Introduction As defined by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) audit risk is The risk that the auditor expresses an inappropriate audit opinion when the financial statements are materially misstated (IAASB, 2009). The purpose of the auditors is to obtain reasonable assurance that financial statements are prepared in accordance with an applicable financial framework, are free from material misstatements and show a true and fair view of the company. This is to ensure shareholders are able to make rational decisions regarding their investment through reliance on the financial statements. The proposed research would provide a better insight into available rules and procedures designed to aid auditors in the assessment of audit risk, but more importantly, examine their own approaches. It would be interesting to see how companies use their own judgement to identify audit risks, measure their significance and deal with the findings. Additionally, awareness of the process and approaches used by auditors to identify audit risks would enable shareholders to raise their understanding about the accuracy of an audit opinion and so the extent to which it can be relied on. Literature Review One of the key sources will be the information on audit risk, the procedures and processes provided on the websites by some of the UK audit companies ... When it should boost conservation attitudes. Animals actually have all the emotions as humans do, they just don t always show them in the same ways humans normally do. Animals have all the primary and learned emotions but do not always express them in the same way as humans do. Animals experience pain, but that does not mean they all show it in the same way. For example, a fish will express grief/sadness by hiding or by swimming back and forth really fast, and they will act really strange. Some chimpanzees, to grief, will stay around the body of a dead friend for long periods of time almost protecting it ( Animal Behaviors ). This data is relevant because we now know what emotions most animals do and do not have. Animals can also have many behaviors that humans have too. For example, chimpanzees use tools to help them with everyday tasks. An example is chimpanzees use sticks to poke potential predators to see how much of a danger they are to them. Chimpanzees also use rocks to break nuts to eat (Animal Behaviors). This is data is relevant to the claim because it shows us what kind of human like behaviors animals have. Humans have primary emotions and multiple learned emotions. Primary emotions are emotions that are expressed by all cultures and they are anger, sadness, happiness, surprise, disgust, and fear. • 7. Stephanie Guttenplan Influence No doubt, we all have wondered what inspires an artist. When looking at their paintings or drawings, we often put aside the emotions and inspirations to pieces, simply because that information isn t given. Because everyone has their own unique way to express themselves, it makes us wonder. Whether it is a drawing, a musical work or an invention of some sort, each piece has a connection and emotional tie. These emotions translate into the quality of the work. Mentioning that showing work to others, whether it is a song or poem, can significantly improve it. Sometimes other people may see mistakes that the artist may not have through their cloud of emotional attachment. Stephanie Guttenplan is no different; she describes her work as a visual ... Technology Of Failed Stretch Computer 3) Learning from past experience: The companies must maintain a record of lessons of their success and failures to help themselves to be at a better position. George Santayana, one of the famous philosopher coined a phrase Santayana Review speaks about those who overlooks the past and do not pay attention tends to repeat the mistakes. IBM s 360 computer was result of technology of failed stretch computer . Here the learning happened to be by chance rather than by careful planning. Another example is of Boeing launches, based on the principle of Project Homework to eliminate some serious problems. They worked on the comparison between the development process of 737 747 with those of 707 727. And came out with an inch thick booklet of lessons learned and recommendations. Today 757 and 767 are the most successful error free launches in its history. Next came the first mention of synesthesia in scientific literature, Sir Francis Galton published a paper about synesthesia in the journal Nature in 1880.( Guillochon, May,). Soon after this publication a Swiss medical student named Eugen Bleuler and Karl Lehmann collected data on 76 synesthesia patients and compiled a book that now is considered a milestone in the history of synesthesia. (Simner). As a whole the scientific community delved into the study of synesthesia in the late 19th century and the early 20th century, but in the mid 20th century research subsided until the 1970s when the study of synesthesia was revived. (Carpenter). Synesthesia history was one of self discovery and new studies and data about the condition. The exact cause of synesthesia although not discovered; at the moment the cause can best be explained by the hypothesis of serotonergic factors. Scientists do in fact though classify three categories of how one acquired synesthesia. (Brogaard ). The three categories as follows are developmental synesthesia, acquired synesthesia, and drug induced synesthesia. (Brogaard). Yet, by the time she was finished with her work, advanced terms in genetics, such as transposable elements had come about. McClintock was born to Thomas and Sara McClintock. Thomas came from a poor background but became a doctor. He also had an interest in science, which may have been where Barbara s interest originated (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). In contrast, Sara McClintock came from a much wealthier, more prestigious background; her ancestors could be traced to Pilgrims on the Mayflower (Tracy). After her marriage, Sara, who became a mother of four, was a piano teacher to bring in more money for the family. At the age of three, Barbara was sent to live with her aunt and uncle for three years (Tracy). She enjoyed her time with the extended family and returned to Thomas and Sara after three years ... McClintock did not achieve this degree the way she wanted to, however. McClintock s main interest was in genetics, but that department (plant breeding) did not accept women (Keller 35). Instead, McClintock chose another path, majoring in cytology, minoring in genetics and zoology, in the botany department (Keller 35). • 12. Dna Barcoding And Its Effects On The Malaysian Market There is very little customers can do to ensure that they are purchasing the fish they are paying for. Producers and restaurants owners have a tendency to mislabel their products for their own reasons. The main reason is yet to be determined but there are researchers who have made it their goal to resolve this dispute and show customers what they are truly buying. Too Chin Chin et al. attempt to utilize the DNA barcoding in the fish segment, to assess the frequency of fish mislabeling on the Malaysian market (2015). DNA barcoding tries to standardize scientific classification by using short, single DNA sequence, for example, part of the mitochondrial gene COI to distinguish between species (Larson, 2007). The process begins with extracting DNA and using primers to amplify COI regions from the DNA extracts via PCR. The sequences attained are compared to the available sequences in Bold and GenBank databases to find the mislabeled products. Similarly, a character based key can also be constructed to review the reference sequences for variable nucleotides that can serve as diagnostics for the species you wish to study (Loweinstein, 2009). Along with Too Chin Chin et al., there are other researchers who based their study on the same concept to find mislabeled seafood products in certain parts of the world. Dana Miller et al. examined seafood fraud in two types of Whitefish in Europe. Although, the motivation for these works are to find mislabeling in products using the standard ... In the short story, the scarlet ibis, by James Hurst, the scarlet ibis is a symbol for Doodle because it represents him in life, in person, and in death. Throughout the novel, colonialism produces social, cultural and religious issues among the two colonial societies of opposing races. It s obvious that the English has tried hard enough to gain power over India. The first object that has attracted the English is the mesmerizing background of India. In the novel, as Forster describes, So abased, so monotonous is everything that meets the eye, that when the Ganges1 comes down it might be expected to wash the excrescence back into the soil (Forster, 5). The English first enter India as foreigners who were influenced by the scenery as described. Instantly, they intend to become the ruler of India. Englishmen start to build their own colonies apart from the Indian ones. Even though, the English had stayed in India as tourists, their construction of colonial buildings suggests that they want to live further apart. However, in order to be the ruler, the English had to communicate with the Indians. Some characters such as Mr. Turton, Ronny and Heaslop have to deal with the Indians, but they keep the distance as minimal as possible. Due to their inhuman characteristic, Aziz and his friends had to suffer a lot. This idea suggests that no matter what, a colonizer and a colonized can never be close in a colonial society. The ruler will always be in power whereas the colonized will be humiliated in every second of their lives, even though the country belongs to them. Freudian psychoanalysis theorizes that all human behavior is influenced by early childhood experiences. Freud argues that human behavior is mostly unconscious and driven by conflicting desires, feelings, fears, and motives. The goal of psychoanalysis is to resolve intrapsychic conflict by bringing into conscious awareness the unconscious desires and motives of an individual. Through free association, the unconscious is made conscious, and unresolved conflict or anxiety is resolved. Psychoanalysis also seeks to challenge self defeating coping methods or defense mechanisms and aims to replace the negative coping methods with more effective coping mechanism (Jones Butman, 2012) Freud s model of personality posits that: 1. There are three levels of consciousness: the conscious experiences, the preconscious experiences, and unconscious experiences, however, all behavior is determined by unconscious experiences. 2. Human Behavior is determined by past unresolved events from childhood. 3. Human behavior is determined by the interaction of sexual and aggressive drives. 4. Personality is structured in terms the id, ego and superego. The id is pleasure driven, and seeks to satisfy its needs. The white men make the narrator feel inferior to them by making him the course of their entertainment. They make him feel ashamed and worthless. His feeling of invisibility not only comes from the belittling remarks they make, and what he has to do, but also the thought that the whites have that much control over what he is doing. Dr. A. This serves the purpose of remembering the Last Supper and also brings a feeling of closeness with God, Jesus and each other. It will also remind Christians of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Corinthians 11:23 25 writes that Jesus took and broke the bread, referred to it as his body and said, Do this in remembrance of me. Similarly after the supper he took a cup and referred to it as, the new covenant in my blood and said, Do this whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. The second is participation. Jesus did more than just take and break the bread and take and pour the wine. He gave these things to the disciples to eat, thus he was involving them in the last supper. Sex education is about creating awareness and knowledge for those who are confused or have never been talked to about human development and reproduction. Sex education should not be censored in schools; rather it should be taught accordingly to help prevent unhealthy sexual relationships and understand body changes as they age. First, parents tend to avoid discussing sex and puberty with their children and still wonder why there are many adolescents who have unprotected sex at a young age. From personal experience, my parents always tried avoiding questions like How are babies brought to life? and What is a period? . They would shrug and say I will learn in school. Though, these sensitive topics were never really covered in school.
